- 0:17SPEAKER_05: Yo, we are going to be discussing the most important position of all sports.
- 0:25SPEAKER_05: The quarterbacks.
- 0:26SPEAKER_05: I was going to say the tight ends, but that would have been too much of a comedic relief type of moment.
- 0:32SPEAKER_05: Realistically, you shouldn't even have tight ends in your leagues, but we're going to discuss them anyway.
- 0:36SPEAKER_05: And let me talk to you guys real fast.
- 0:38SPEAKER_05: I got a theory.
- 0:39SPEAKER_05: I got a theory.
- 0:41SPEAKER_05: And it's the quarterback name theory.
- 0:43SPEAKER_05: And I want to make sure I want to run it by you guys, of course, Nico and Tip.
- 0:47SPEAKER_05: This is FF Space episode.
- 0:50SPEAKER_05: I think we're on like nine right now, going into the season, wrapping it up.
- 0:54SPEAKER_05: Nice one.
- 0:55SPEAKER_05: Something like that, guys.
- 0:55SPEAKER_05: Come on, help me out here.
- 0:57SPEAKER_05: Episode nine, baby.
- 0:58SPEAKER_05: No, we are right.
- 0:59SPEAKER_05: No, this is episode nine.
- 1:00SPEAKER_03: You're right.
- 1:00SPEAKER_03: See, I was right.
- 1:01SPEAKER_05: I was right.
- 1:01SPEAKER_05: All right.
- 1:02SPEAKER_05: And of course, we're going to be discussing quarterback rankings and tight end rankings, half-point PPR format, discussing where you should be going around, who you should be attacking, who you should be leaving behind, of course, when you're hitting those redrafts.
- 1:14SPEAKER_05: But let's talk about my theory real fast.
- 1:16SPEAKER_05: And it's the quarterback name theory.
- 1:18SPEAKER_05: Because when you talk about quarterbacks, they got the name and they have the name of a quarterback.
- 1:27SPEAKER_05: Like, right?
- 1:27SPEAKER_05: I can't explain it, but you're like, you know what I'm saying.
- 1:30SPEAKER_05: Tom Brady, that's a quarterback name.
- 1:34SPEAKER_05: Uh Josh Allen, that's a quarterback name.
- 1:36SPEAKER_05: Joe Burrow, that's a quarterback name.
- 1:39SPEAKER_05: Joe Montana.
- 1:40SPEAKER_05: Joe Montana, quarterback.
- 1:41SPEAKER_05: Steve Young, quarterback name.
- 1:42SPEAKER_05: Like, you think of any type of elite quarterback, they got like a name, and you're like, yep, that's a quarterback's name.
- 1:48SPEAKER_05: Matthew Stafford, quarterback name.
- 1:50SPEAKER_05: Jared Goff.
- 1:51SPEAKER_05: Like, I you can just go on and on and on.
- 1:54SPEAKER_05: And you could sit there and think to yourself, wait, hold on.
- 1:59SPEAKER_05: That's a bad quarterback name.
- 2:01SPEAKER_05: It's no surprise that they're a bad quarterback.
- 2:03SPEAKER_05: Like you're looking at Jamarcus Russell.
- 2:05SPEAKER_05: Like, that's not that's not a quarterback name.
- 2:08SPEAKER_05: No surprise that he busted out.
- 2:10SPEAKER_05: And like you could sit here and go, Fernando Mendo, like that's not a quarterback name.
- 2:15SPEAKER_05: That's a quarterback name.
- 2:16SPEAKER_05: That's a quarterback name.
- 2:17SPEAKER_05: Like that is a good quarterback name.
- 2:19SPEAKER_05: And go down the list of every quarterback that's elite and every quarterback that's a bust.
- 2:23SPEAKER_05: And you can sit there and read the names, and you're like, it makes sense why he didn't work out.
- 2:28SPEAKER_05: Like that's just not a quarterback name.
- 2:29SPEAKER_05: Nico, agree.
- 2:31SPEAKER_02: No.
- 2:32SPEAKER_02: Why?
- 2:33SPEAKER_02: It don't matter what their name is.
- 2:34SPEAKER_02: If you can ball on the field, you're good enough for me to be in my fantasy lineups.
- 2:39SPEAKER_05: But like, when has a quarterback with a bad name, non-quarterback name, been a baller?
- 2:45SPEAKER_05: Like, name me one.
- 2:46SPEAKER_05: Find me one.
- 2:48SPEAKER_05: Kyler Murray.
- 2:50SPEAKER_05: That's not a quarterback name.
- 2:52SPEAKER_04: That's not a quarterback.
- 2:53SPEAKER_05: I don't know.
- 2:54SPEAKER_05: I mean, he does have a Pro Bowl under his belt, but like I mean, like, seriously though, like Josh Allen.
- 3:00SPEAKER_05: A quarterback.
- 3:01SPEAKER_05: Josh.
- 3:01SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 3:03SPEAKER_05: Like the only one that I could sit here and think off the top of my mind, maybe Josh Rosa.
- 3:08SPEAKER_05: But that's just because he has the name Josh in his name.
- 3:12SPEAKER_05: A little bit question.
- 3:13SPEAKER_05: Bonex.
- 3:14SPEAKER_05: That's a quarterback name.
- 3:15SPEAKER_03: That's kind of a quarterback name.
- 3:16SPEAKER_03: That's a quarterback.
- 3:16SPEAKER_05: I like it.
- 3:17SPEAKER_05: JD McCoy.
- 3:18SPEAKER_02: Friday Night Lights.
- 3:20SPEAKER_02: Oh, that's that's a quarterback name.
- 3:22SPEAKER_02: See?
- 3:23SPEAKER_02: That's a quarterback name.
- 3:24SPEAKER_02: That's a like a Texas high school quarterback football name.
- 3:28SPEAKER_02: Matt Sarrisen.
- 3:30SPEAKER_02: Quarterback name.
- 3:31SPEAKER_03: That is not a quarterback name.
- 3:33SPEAKER_03: Nah, is Tara Saracen?
- 3:34SPEAKER_03: That sounds like somebody should be doing your taxes.
- 3:37SPEAKER_03: A little bit.
- 3:38SPEAKER_03: A little bit.
- 3:38SPEAKER_02: I'm sure that's probably what he's up to these days.
- 3:40SPEAKER_02: Y'all have seen Friday Night Lights, right?
- 3:42SPEAKER_02: Like oh, yeah, best best TV show ever.
- 3:44SPEAKER_05: Best TV show ever.
- 3:46SPEAKER_05: And uh bits and pieces.
- 3:47SPEAKER_05: I'm trying to think.
- 3:48SPEAKER_05: Matt uh Matt Ryan, quarterback name.
- 3:50SPEAKER_05: That is all right.
- 3:51SPEAKER_05: Like it's just how it works.
- 3:53SPEAKER_05: Like, if you have the name, it's like Moneyball.
- 3:55SPEAKER_05: Like, if probably movie, people that watch or read the books, it's like Moneyball.
- 4:00SPEAKER_05: You gotta have the look with the attributes before like you even step on the field.
- 4:05SPEAKER_05: And that's something that everybody always judges on.
- 4:08SPEAKER_05: And it's just it's just true.
- 4:09SPEAKER_05: Like, it's just how it works.
- 4:10SPEAKER_05: Sam Darnold, quarterback name.
- 4:11SPEAKER_05: Nico.
- 4:12SPEAKER_02: That was actually who I was gonna ask.
- 4:13SPEAKER_02: Sam Darnold.
- 4:14SPEAKER_02: Like, is that a quarterback name to you?
- 4:16SPEAKER_02: It's like a half quarterback name, it's a late bloomer.
- 4:19SPEAKER_03: Sam, Sam is the half Sam is the it's an acquired taste.
- 4:23SPEAKER_05: That's why it took I don't know seven years to win a championship.
- 4:26SPEAKER_02: I don't know, Natter.
- 4:27SPEAKER_02: I think you might have officially lost it.
- 4:30SPEAKER_05: I don't know.
- 4:31SPEAKER_05: Tip, help me out here.
- 4:32SPEAKER_03: Uh nah, Natter.
- 4:34SPEAKER_03: I think I think it look, we've talked about this before, and I I think it's entertaining as far as the names and how they could be, you know, marked as quarterbacks and or quarterback name, but no fantasy relevant.
- 4:46SPEAKER_03: I look, dude, like either you ball or you ball.
- 4:49SPEAKER_03: Like, you know, Dak Prescott.
- 4:51SPEAKER_03: That's not a quarterback name, but he balled out last year.
- 4:53SPEAKER_05: Kind of.
- 4:54SPEAKER_05: We're gonna discuss a lot of Dak actually.
- 4:56SPEAKER_05: And you know, I can't, I gotta be careful what I say about Dak because like I'll end up contradicting myself.
- 5:02SPEAKER_05: That's just a sneak peek of what I'll be discussing later on in the show.
- 5:04SPEAKER_05: But of course, we're gonna be discussing a lot of quarterbacks ranking-wise, who you should be targeting and who you should be leaving in the dust.
- 5:12SPEAKER_05: But of course, we're gonna start it off with the news and notes.
- 5:20SPEAKER_00: NFL headlines.
- 5:25SPEAKER_02: Tip, your dream has come true.
- 5:27SPEAKER_02: We are no longer in the dog days of summer.
- 5:30SPEAKER_02: Tip, I do want to ask you a question though, before we get going.
- 5:33SPEAKER_02: How's the fantasy football expo, man?
- 5:35SPEAKER_03: Oh my goodness.
- 5:36SPEAKER_03: I look, I if you can't find a way to get out there, I don't know what to tell you.
- 5:42SPEAKER_03: But I look next year, 2027, it's gonna be July 23rd to the 25th.
- 5:49SPEAKER_03: Um, I absolutely had a blast out there.
- 5:51SPEAKER_03: We hung out with um any and everybody in the fantasy industry.
- 5:56SPEAKER_03: Uh the fantasy footballers were there.
- 5:59SPEAKER_03: Uh, our guy Debro was there, Chris Allen, Laquan, Marcus, uh Grant.
- 6:04SPEAKER_03: Uh it was just awesome, man.
- 6:06SPEAKER_03: Awesome time.
- 6:07SPEAKER_03: Hung out with Mike Florio or uh yeah, Mike F.
- 6:10SPEAKER_03: Florio.
- 6:11SPEAKER_03: So um it just was fun, man.
- 6:14SPEAKER_03: It it brings everybody together uh in this industry, and it's kind of like the kickoff before the season.
- 6:22SPEAKER_03: Um, we have a bunch of parties, there's a bunch of like like just just networking, just a total awesome event.
- 6:30SPEAKER_03: This year we had Ahmad Green from the Green Bay Packers and the Seattle Seahawks and the Houston, Texas.
- 6:36SPEAKER_03: He had showed up, he was there.
- 6:38SPEAKER_03: Um, but the actual the highlight of it was just hanging out with everybody, getting to just talk to everybody, see everybody face to face.
- 6:46SPEAKER_03: That's the thing.
- 6:46SPEAKER_03: We are all under like when we talk to people, we're either on our tablets, on our computers, our phones, we're on devices, right?
- 6:54SPEAKER_03: But when you see them in person, like that time I saw Kelly, like our producer, Kelly and Phoenix, when I saw her, it was just it was just like surreal.
- 7:01SPEAKER_03: It's like, damn, I've talked to you on on X before or on Instagram, whatever socials, and now I get to actually talk to you face to face, and it was just an absolute blast, man.
- 7:10SPEAKER_03: Got to see the Kings Classic, so saw some of the drafts uh going on there, and then obviously uh the foot the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.
- 7:20SPEAKER_03: The bot the look, Bob Lung and his family, they put it on, and his content team, all of his people that work with them, they put on a hell of a show this year.
- 7:28SPEAKER_03: Um, got to see a lot of new faces.
- 7:30SPEAKER_03: So I want to see you guys out there next year.
- 7:34SPEAKER_02: I'm already looking to buy my ticket, brother.
- 7:36SPEAKER_02: Um, well, anyways, going into the news and notes here.
- 7:40SPEAKER_02: So obviously, we have a lot with training camp starting uh for all NFL teams.
- 7:45SPEAKER_02: So, first and foremost, uh the consensus number one and number two pick in most drafts, B.
- 7:51SPEAKER_02: John Robinson and Jameer Gibbs are missing practice.
- 7:54SPEAKER_02: They both sat out amid ongoing contract discussions.
- 7:57SPEAKER_02: Neither absence was reported as injury related, more so contract related.
- 8:02SPEAKER_02: Malik Neighbors, uh hot topic um individual that we've been talking about through multiple shows, avoids the pup and returns to practice.
- 8:12SPEAKER_02: So I've been seeing some videos on Twitter.
- 8:14SPEAKER_02: X, he looks fairly solid.
- 8:16SPEAKER_02: I think it's time we uh fine-tune where we have him in our rankings.
- 8:21SPEAKER_02: Falcons quarterback room already dealing with multiple injuries.
- 8:26SPEAKER_02: Uh Tua Tugavailoa mispractice after an uh injury flared up, and Michael Penix Jr.
- 8:32SPEAKER_02: remains out during team drills as he recovers from another AC, another torn ACL.
- 8:37SPEAKER_02: So Atlanta added Cooper Rush, uh, who spent some time with the Cowboys as well as the Ravens.
- 8:44SPEAKER_02: George Kittle begins camp on pup.
- 8:46SPEAKER_02: So the 49ers uh tight end George Kittle.
- 8:50SPEAKER_02: Um, he's obviously recovering from an Achilles injury.
- 8:53SPEAKER_02: Uh running back Isaac Garendal also opened camp on the pup with a peck injury.
- 8:58SPEAKER_02: Tucker Kraft could return for week one.
- 9:01SPEAKER_02: Uh, he did open camp on the pup list while recovering from his ACL, but Packers general manager said he could still be ready for week one.
- 9:11SPEAKER_02: And we will be diving into our tight end rankings today, so I'm sure we'll talk more about him.
- 9:16SPEAKER_02: Patrick Mahomes fully cleared uh to participate in Chiefs training camp following his season-ending knee injury he suffered last year.
- 9:25SPEAKER_02: He came out and said he wants to run the ball less and quote unquote hand the ball off to Kenneth Walker.
- 9:32SPEAKER_02: Uh, which for those that tuned in a few weeks ago, I think uh y'all remember maybe how I'm feeling about that.
- 9:40SPEAKER_02: But Rasheed Rice also cleared and ready to go um from the knee injury, not from being in jail.
- 9:46SPEAKER_02: Puka Nakua uh practicing despite contract talks.
- 9:50SPEAKER_02: Tank Dell avoids the puplist.
- 9:52SPEAKER_02: Alec Pierce expected back within one or two weeks.
- 9:55SPEAKER_02: Uh Kyle Shanahan, uh Natter, did you hear about this?
- 9:59SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I was sending him Instagram reels, and I know he was just responding to the diabolical videos that I sent him.
- 10:06SPEAKER_05: So, I mean, like, I don't blame him for getting in the car accident because I mean I do the same thing.
- 10:10SPEAKER_05: Like, I watch reels and drive all the time.
- 10:12SPEAKER_05: And at that point, like I blame the other people for getting in my way while I'm watching the reels.
- 10:17SPEAKER_05: Like, have some respect.
- 10:20SPEAKER_02: Oh well, I'll tell you what, um, it seemed like a pretty severe, non-life-threatening injury.
- 10:28SPEAKER_02: But point being, there is an interim um head coach uh kind of running things right now in training camp while he gets right.
- 10:35SPEAKER_02: Uh, some other quick hitters, uh, Panthers rookie wide receiver, Chris Brazzle, uh, suffered a moderate LCL tear, could miss up to eight weeks.
- 10:43SPEAKER_02: Bucky Irving, a full go at camp.
- 10:46SPEAKER_02: Kirk Cousins will begin Raiders training camp as the starting quarterback and is expected to receive most of the early repetitions.
- 10:55SPEAKER_02: So, first overall pick for the Raiders, Fernando Mendoza, likely in a backup role to start the year.
- 11:00SPEAKER_02: Baker Mayfield entered Buccaneers camp without a new contract extension in place.
- 11:06SPEAKER_02: So, talk about playing uh with a chip on your shoulder, you know, all the cards in the middle of the table.
- 11:12SPEAKER_02: We'll see how that goes for him and see if it pays off.
- 11:15SPEAKER_02: Jordan James, uh RB2 for the uh 49ers, fractured his rib.
- 11:21SPEAKER_02: Ricky Pearsall, also out with knee swelling.
- 11:24SPEAKER_02: I don't know what is going on with those 49ers, uh, athletic trainers over there, but they are getting their money's worth.
- 11:31SPEAKER_02: Jacoby Brissett, Kelly's guy.
- 11:34SPEAKER_02: Um, he signed a 15.5 million base salary worth up to 21 million incentives, which is a$10 million raise from what he was previously receiving.
- 11:44SPEAKER_02: And lastly, Quinchon Judkins was a full go for the Browns in camp.
- 11:50SPEAKER_02: Guys, that's obviously a lot of news, and that and we want to make sure our audience is educated on a lot of the breaking headlines, top headlines going on.
- 12:01SPEAKER_02: Guys, any thoughts on any of the news that I shared?
- 12:03SPEAKER_02: Obviously, it was a lot, but what what stood out to either of you in regards to some of the things that we discussed and how you kind of um view things from a fantasy lens now that you know first week of camp is really locked and loaded?
- 12:18SPEAKER_05: Natter, you go first.
- 12:19SPEAKER_05: Oh, okay.
- 12:20SPEAKER_05: I'll go first.
- 12:20SPEAKER_05: All right, you know, hey, ladies first, you know what I'm saying?
- 12:23SPEAKER_05: Um I think some of the biggest news is gonna be Malik neighbors, of course, avoiding the PUP list and potentially uh uh you know starting week one, if not you know, before week four.
- 12:38SPEAKER_05: Uh, I mean oh ACL tear week four is a lot to recover from, but you know what?
- 12:43SPEAKER_05: At this point in this day and age with modern medicine, I kind of expect him to be back week one with an ACL tear.
- 12:50SPEAKER_05: I mean, people with Achilles are coming back earlier.
- 12:52SPEAKER_05: I mean, you saw Aaron Rodgers at 39 years old, could have came before the year ended from his Achilles tear.
- 12:58SPEAKER_05: So, I mean, there I'm gonna have to tweak the rankings a little bit and kind of maybe bump him up with this news, which I always like to see when it comes to wide receivers.
- 13:07SPEAKER_05: Patrick Mahomes being fully cleared, also fully expected that as well.
- 13:11SPEAKER_05: Uh, do like to see that he wants to hand up all off to Kenneth Walker.
- 13:14SPEAKER_05: We'll be discussing Patrick Mahomes in depth a lot more later on in the episode.
- 13:18SPEAKER_05: Uh, Tucker Kraft, we're gonna be discussing him a decent amount as well.
- 13:22SPEAKER_05: Returning week one, really enjoy that.
- 13:25SPEAKER_05: Tank Dell avoiding the PUP list is also a big one to me.
- 13:28SPEAKER_05: I'm big fan of Tank Dell, big fan of yes, yes, really like Tank Dell.
- 13:34SPEAKER_05: I think he has a high football IQ and an elite route running tree.
- 13:38SPEAKER_05: So he is somebody that I really like to target in drafts.
- 13:41SPEAKER_05: I heavily did his rookie year, year two, and all that stuff.
- 13:45SPEAKER_05: And now I'm definitely gonna be looking to see what his ADP looks like and trying to always try to sneak a little tank Dell into my fantasy lineup.
- 13:53SPEAKER_05: Um, other than that, I think one of the biggest ones is the Ricky Pearsall with his knee swelling, just because hey, those electrical lines they come back once again, baby.
- 14:05SPEAKER_05: Is undefeated, and once again, we have another knee swelling when it comes to it.
- 14:10SPEAKER_05: And he had a climbing ADP because of all the hype and the the uh what's the word, boys?
- 14:18SPEAKER_05: I can't think of the name, I can't think of the name.
- 14:20SPEAKER_03: Well, just the anticipation of him coming into camp, like you you know, like I and and the reason I'm coming in is because I I was gonna talk about stribling, uh right, right as a teammate, because like there's been videos of him coming out in camp, and they've been talking so highly of him.
- 14:37SPEAKER_03: That is there a situation that or Nico, do you guys think that that it's Ricky Peersaw may be one of those players that we are just avoiding in drafts?
- 14:46SPEAKER_03: I was looking forward to drafting him, but now with the the issue with the injury and then stribbling, uh it's just yeah, I'm I'm I'm kind of that's that's one that really grabbed my attention.
- 14:56SPEAKER_03: Another one that also grabbed my attention was the Baker Mayfield news, too.
- 14:59SPEAKER_03: Baker Mayfield, um for all accounts and purposes, like he is putting all the money on himself, like he's he's betting on himself.
- 15:07SPEAKER_03: Baker Mayfield will always bet on himself, and he usually comes out winning when he bets on himself.
- 15:13SPEAKER_03: So I feel like what I've heard was that the first offer that they offered to him was pretty much something that he felt like or his team, uh meaning his his agents felt like was a disrespect.
- 15:25SPEAKER_03: So he is now going to play out his contract, pissed off, and hopefully ready to sign with another team or get some get the money from Tampa Bay because you know he's 31 years old.
- 15:37SPEAKER_03: This might be one of his last opportunities to cash in on that big bag um because of the way he plays.
- 15:43SPEAKER_03: And that may be one of the reasons why some of the teams are or why the Buccaneers are Leary, because last year he played all through injury, he was having an MVP season at the start of this season until he got injured.
- 15:54SPEAKER_03: So I I think that this is a mistake.
- 15:57SPEAKER_03: If the Buccaneers want to really um be contenders and be in, you know, in the mix for at least in the NFC South, they got to go ahead and pay the man.
- 16:06SPEAKER_03: Uh otherwise, I I also heard a rumor um from one of the beat writers with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
- 16:12SPEAKER_03: His name escapes me, but he was also saying, could we possibly see him go back to the Rams?
- 16:17SPEAKER_03: Because we know Matthew Stafford is um, you know, probably gonna be on his way out pretty soon um for retiring.
- 16:23SPEAKER_03: So it's a it's a whirlwind.
- 16:26SPEAKER_03: Um, there's a lot of news.
- 16:27SPEAKER_03: There's gonna be a lot of news every week.
- 16:28SPEAKER_03: There's gonna be a lot of news every day, every hour.
- 16:31SPEAKER_03: Stay tuned, listen in, and make sure you are uh and tapped in to our uh Twitter account, the FF Space Pod account, and we get you all the up-to-date information.
- 16:43SPEAKER_03: We give you all the up-to-date news as it comes out.
- 16:48SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, it's a it's a lot of news.
- 16:50SPEAKER_02: Um I'm I agree with both of you.
- 16:52SPEAKER_02: Uh the ones that you all pointed out.
- 16:54SPEAKER_02: I felt that all of those were very relevant to the fantasy world right now.
- 16:59SPEAKER_02: And um, obviously, neighbors, you know, we did our wide receiver rankings a few weeks ago, definitely gonna have to tweak that.
- 17:06SPEAKER_02: And uh, Tip, you brought up Stribling as well.
- 17:08SPEAKER_02: Like, there's been a lot of hype around him.
- 17:10SPEAKER_02: I know people were, you know, in on Rick Pearsall, um, based on some of his efficiency metrics of when he's on the field, he has been very solid.
- 17:19SPEAKER_02: And with the departure of Juwan Jennings to my Vikings, like there was opportunity there.
- 17:24SPEAKER_02: So um all important stuff.
- 17:27SPEAKER_02: Uh, we'll continue to keep y'all updated, but let's talk about some quarterbacks.
- 17:32SPEAKER_03: Yeah, you know, uh it's exciting.
- 17:34SPEAKER_03: Like Natter had talked about the quarterback is a vital part to your fantasy team success, and they're also playing in the hardest position in sports.
- 17:43SPEAKER_03: So I was talking to Rich Rebar um at the fantasy football expo over the weekend, and we were discussing there's 32 teams and only yet a handful of quarterbacks that are truly that that that succeed.
- 17:57SPEAKER_03: So it makes you really appreciate the greatness of Tom Burney and the and look, Matter, that's a badass quarterback name, too, right?
- 18:04SPEAKER_05: A quarterback name.
- 18:05SPEAKER_03: There we go.
- 18:06SPEAKER_05: Undefeated, undefeated.
- 18:08SPEAKER_03: So let's get let's get into some discussions that we have based on our rankings.
- 18:12SPEAKER_03: Um, now we will be putting out our rankings um at so all of our rankings are going to be out um by the end of the weekend.
- 18:21SPEAKER_03: So please keep a lookout for that.
- 18:22SPEAKER_03: You'll have all our running backs, wide receivers, tight ends, and quarterback rankings.
- 18:26SPEAKER_03: So, Nico, I have a question for you.
- 18:28SPEAKER_03: So, what is your approach when drafting quarterbacks?
- 18:32SPEAKER_03: Are you a traditional uh for let's go traditional one quarterback league and for a super flex league?
- 18:38SPEAKER_03: What's your what's your drafting strategies?
- 18:41SPEAKER_02: Yeah, for me in redraft or one QB leagues, if you will, I'm typically punting on the position more often than not in drafts that I have done so far this year.
- 18:51SPEAKER_02: Uh, the QB position is extremely deep this year.
- 18:55SPEAKER_02: You have guys like Caleb Williams, Trevor Lawrence, Bo Nicks, Jackson Dart, Tyler Shuck, and Malik Willis that jumped onto the scene last year.
- 19:04SPEAKER_02: And now, as we comb through our QB rankings, I one thing that stood out to me is that my tier three is extremely deep.
- 19:15SPEAKER_02: And when I draft based on tiers, like if I view Jalen Hurts, who is my QB six in the same tier, if you will, as my QB 12 and Dart, like why would I take a guy like Hertz or Caleb Williams if I view guys like Bo Nicks and Jackson Dart as better ADP picks multiple rounds later?
- 19:37SPEAKER_02: And this is not to say you can't draft a top QB, I just don't think the fall-off is that massive when it's worth losing out on you know a running back that can help your team, a wide receiver to do so.
- 19:49SPEAKER_02: Like, would would you rather have Hertz and say Chuba Hubbard or like a David Montgomery, DeAndre Swift, and a Brock Purdy?
- 19:57SPEAKER_02: Like, I don't know about you guys, but I would rather have Purdy and Swift compared to the other way around.
- 20:03SPEAKER_02: So when you're doing your drafts, make sure you tier guys out, and that'll kind of help you realize the value and ADP in your drafts.
- 20:11SPEAKER_02: And that's usually how I do things in a traditional one QB league.
- 20:15SPEAKER_03: Okay, let's talk about Superflex, and then I have a follow-up question regarding your um tiers.
- 20:22SPEAKER_02: Sure.
- 20:22SPEAKER_02: Yeah, so super flex, obviously a little bit different.
- 20:25SPEAKER_02: Um, the last thing you want is Bryce Young as your QB2, like I did in one league last year.
- 20:30SPEAKER_02: It was uh brutal.
- 20:32SPEAKER_02: Um, but it's obviously different.
- 20:34SPEAKER_02: We're this is where definitely where you want to grab either an elite top five guy and then a guy you maybe view in the QB20 to QB25 range.
- 20:44SPEAKER_02: And if you don't get that elite guy, make sure you grab two guys that are between like that eight and eighteen range.
- 20:51SPEAKER_02: So to give some context, like if I get a guy like Allen, Lamar, May, I'm more comfortable grabbing, say, a Baker Mayfield with a chip on his shoulder this year, a Cam Ward as my ideal QB two.
- 21:05SPEAKER_02: But say I get like a Justin Herbert, you know, I'm more prone to grab a guy, say like Tyler Shuck or you know, Kyler Murray.
- 21:13SPEAKER_02: Like when I look at my rankings, there are 25 quarterbacks I would feel comfortable having as my QB two.
- 21:20SPEAKER_02: The drop-off for me is after Sam Darnold, who I have at my QB24.
- 21:26SPEAKER_02: And then you got guys like Stroud, Brissett, Gino, Bryce Young, Aaron Rodgers, and uh Kirk Cousins.
- 21:33SPEAKER_02: So that's kind of the tier break for me.
- 21:35SPEAKER_02: So if you get the elite guy, you know, I'm comfortable with someone in that 18 to 24 range.
- 21:40SPEAKER_02: But if you don't get the top five guy, you know, stack two guys that are kind of in that middle range, just to make sure that you have that flexibility.
- 21:48SPEAKER_02: Cause obviously, in a super flex, starting a quarterback is always going to be better for your team than say, you know, another flex position.
- 21:57SPEAKER_03: So you got you got several players in there.
- 21:59SPEAKER_03: Uh You've got what six players in your tier three?
- 22:02SPEAKER_03: So you got Jackson Dart at number 12 ranked, Bo Nicks at number 11 ranked, Justin Herbert uh 10, Brock Purdy at nine, Trevor Lawrence at eight, Caleb Williams at seven, and then Jalen Hurts, who is your first tier three break player.
- 22:17SPEAKER_03: Um, so I I I got a question for you regarding those six players.
- 22:22SPEAKER_03: Uh, which which one of these players could you see fall not only out of the uh top, you know, top 12?
- 22:31SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I think 12.
- 22:33SPEAKER_03: Hello?
- 22:34SPEAKER_03: Sorry, the top 12.
- 22:36SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I mean for me, it's very clearly Bo Nicks.
- 22:39SPEAKER_02: I feel that I'm higher on consensus than you know, maybe a majority of analysts out there on Bo Nicks.
- 22:46SPEAKER_02: Like I'm I'm pretty bullish on Bo Nicks.
- 22:48SPEAKER_02: I believe in you know his ability to not only have a good pass attack with Jalen Waddle, who they brought in over from the Dolphins.
- 22:57SPEAKER_02: Um, I think he's got it, he's good at spreading the ball around.
- 23:01SPEAKER_02: He has rushing upside.
- 23:03SPEAKER_02: So for me, I would say if there is one, it's probably gonna be Bo Nicks.
- 23:07SPEAKER_02: I'm also very bullish on Brock Purdy, Caleb Williams.
- 23:11SPEAKER_02: So I'm gonna go with Bo.
- 23:13SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 23:14SPEAKER_03: All right.
- 23:14SPEAKER_03: So, Natter, I got a question for you.
- 23:16SPEAKER_03: And your rankings, you name so name one of your quarterbacks inside your top seven who has the best chance to dethrone Josh Allen as a quarterback one.
- 23:25SPEAKER_03: Um, so let me know, Natter, who who let everybody know who who would you pick to finish uh above Josh Allen at number one?
- 23:34SPEAKER_05: So I'm gonna actually shy away from picking Lamar Jackson and like Joe Burrow, those type of key's because I feel like that's too easy of an answer.
- 23:42SPEAKER_05: Like, I realistically, I think Joe Burrow is probably the best with his plethora of wide receiver and offensive weapons, but I'm actually gonna go Dak Prescott.
- 23:50SPEAKER_05: Dak Prescott last year only had I think it was six games where he wasn't ranked in the top 10 of points for that week.
- 23:57SPEAKER_05: And he has CD Lamb going in the first round, he has George Pickens going in the third round, he has uh Jake Ferguson going in the the middle rounds for the tight end.
- 24:08SPEAKER_05: We'll be discussing a lot about him, and of course, he has a good running game, he has a high-powered offense, and he had more wide receivers uh sorry, not wide receiver, he had more QB ones weeks than Lamar Jackson last year, and of course, Lamar Jackson had a little bit of a down year, but I expect that to happen again.
- 24:23SPEAKER_05: So, Dak Prescott has the situation around him that is gonna make sure that he is going to be on the upper echelon part of the QBs.
- 24:32SPEAKER_05: Tip, what do you think?
- 24:34SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I like the the Dak Prescott.
- 24:37SPEAKER_03: The thing with Dak Prescott, all right, you know, is all of the weapons that he has.
- 24:41SPEAKER_03: You know, he's not gonna really rush too much.
- 24:42SPEAKER_03: He'll get occasionally, he'll get the rushing touchdown here and there when he ends in the red zone.
- 24:47SPEAKER_03: But um, and I like the call.
- 24:49SPEAKER_03: Uh I'm gonna go a little bit different.
- 24:51SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna go with a quarterback that can actually do some rushing too, and that's gonna be Caleb Williams.
- 24:56SPEAKER_03: I think that Caleb Williams this year, last year, you look at what he did uh finishing at you know as a top five quarterback.
- 25:04SPEAKER_03: Um, I think that this is only gonna be another step forward.
- 25:07SPEAKER_03: Uh last year was a step forward, even at after this time, this time last year, we were getting a lot of negative reports, it sounded like from uh Caleb Williams or Ben Johnson being a little too, you know, maybe not lenient on him, uh, which rightfully so.
- 25:22SPEAKER_03: I mean, hey, you're a NFL quarterback, you gotta be uh he's gotta be tough on you.
- 25:26SPEAKER_03: And I think that produced a a very high quality um starter and Caleb Williams.
- 25:32SPEAKER_03: And I think that he could be that one that dethrones.
- 25:35SPEAKER_03: I mean, you you talk about all his weapons, Luther Burden, you got Roma Dunze, even with his foot situation, and then you got a guy like Colst Loveland, and then even out of the backfield, DeAndre Swift, we gotta not forget DeAndre Swift out of the backfield is dangerous, especially in this offense with the offensive line, Ben Johnson.
- 25:51SPEAKER_03: They run a ton of plays.
- 25:53SPEAKER_03: Um, so I I think that that Caleb Williams could be that one who's in my top seven.
- 25:58SPEAKER_03: He's actually number seven uh who can uh dethrone the great Josh Allen.
- 26:06SPEAKER_05: Yeah, that's a that's a good pick right there.
- 26:08SPEAKER_05: We got a lot of actually questions in the chat, and it would be unfair if we didn't answer them.
- 26:13SPEAKER_05: Of course, they've been waiting really patiently.
- 26:15SPEAKER_05: So, of course, smooth C3012, nice name there, buddy.
- 26:19SPEAKER_05: Uh, where do you have Dak?
- 26:20SPEAKER_05: And you know, I just discussed it right now.
- 26:22SPEAKER_05: I currently have him number uh uh sorry, tip eight in my rankings.
- 26:26SPEAKER_05: I didn't go top seven, I went top eight for you.
- 26:28SPEAKER_05: But honestly, Dak is the guy that today I didn't really, yeah, you're not wrong.
- 26:34SPEAKER_05: Dak is the guy that I'm heavily going after in my redraft leagues, like he is like my priority quarterback to grab him and Brock Purdy are my two priorities.
- 26:46SPEAKER_05: Now, that being said, if I am in a redraft league and I'm in the beginning of the draft and I happen to be able to pick up uh, like you know, for example, uh Jamar Chase, then I'm gonna try to stack him with Joe Burrow.
- 26:58SPEAKER_05: And if I have CD Lamb, then I I'll I'll go around up in order to make sure I get Dak Prescott in order to stack both of them together.
- 27:04SPEAKER_05: Uh, but uh Dak, of course, you know, he has a later round ADP, meaning you can go for your elite upper echelon players and then be able to snag him back in the backgrounds.
- 27:14SPEAKER_05: It's it's to me the best value of the draft.
- 27:18SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I have him at 10.
- 27:19SPEAKER_03: I think, yeah, he is a very good value.
- 27:21SPEAKER_03: The only the only concern you have to deal with Dak Prescott is there's that funky uh on and off again year.
- 27:28SPEAKER_04: The Joe Burrow syndrome.
- 27:30SPEAKER_03: Yeah, so like so like one so since 2019, I think it is every even year he doesn't do well or he gets injured.
- 27:38SPEAKER_03: Every odd number year he does very well and and usually has like an MVP like or you know, in the discussion for MVP um type season.
- 27:47SPEAKER_03: And that was last year.
- 27:48SPEAKER_03: Last year, I mean, he he was a great, he did a great job for you if you had him as your as your quarterback one or two, whatever it may have been.
- 27:56SPEAKER_03: Um, but I think you know, Dak Prescott's a good pick um at number 10.
- 28:02SPEAKER_03: Um, the couple of things that I like about him is of course is is is his um wide receivers.
- 28:08SPEAKER_03: I mean, I love I don't know what it is.
- 28:10SPEAKER_03: I just have an affinity for Jake Ferguson, man.
- 28:12SPEAKER_03: It's just Dak dude, when they get into the red zone, when they get down in those in in where they money zones, they look for each other.
- 28:21SPEAKER_03: And and Dak Prescott is looking for Jake Ferguson, and that's one of the reasons why I think that you can really pad those stats, pad those touchdowns, which that's what Dak Prescott, that's what you need from him, because you're not gonna get a bunch of rushing touchdowns, but you can get those two, three, maybe even a four touchdown week.
- 28:38SPEAKER_03: Um, you know you got to deal with the interceptions, but I I still think Dak Prescott can play at a high level um with all of his receiving options.
- 28:46SPEAKER_03: And then look, you got Jaden Blue, you've also got Javante Williams who catch passes.
- 28:50SPEAKER_03: So I think that um Dak Prescott at 10 is is pretty fair.
- 28:53SPEAKER_03: What about you, Nico?
- 28:55SPEAKER_02: I mean, Javante Williams he'll catch the passes, but he ain't going anywhere with them.
- 28:59SPEAKER_02: His yards per catch was like absurdly low, like so much so that there has to be positive regression with his yards per catch.
- 29:09SPEAKER_02: Um, I have Dak Prescott as my QB 13, and he's actually leading tier four for me.
- 29:15SPEAKER_02: Uh, the biggest knock that I have on Dak, and I'm not gonna go with the whole like every other year, like that's not fair on how we rank players, but it's really just the the lack of meaningful rushing attempts that he has.
- 29:29SPEAKER_02: And we've talked about it in past episodes about you know how I feel about rushing quarterbacks.
- 29:34SPEAKER_02: And to me, like I don't I don't really he starts off tier four, he's obviously an elite thrower of the football.
- 29:41SPEAKER_02: He has the best wide receiver duo in the NFL, arguably, with CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens, and like you said, Jake Ferguson in the red zone, who he absolutely loves.
- 29:51SPEAKER_02: You know, they do have a good running game.
- 29:53SPEAKER_02: Uh, but for me, I feel like the environment needs to be perfect for him.
- 29:57SPEAKER_02: I view him as more of a best ball target where you're chasing those spike weeks where they're in those shootouts.
- 30:03SPEAKER_02: But like, think about your regular season.
- 30:06SPEAKER_02: Like when you see Dak, you know, on the road in Philly or on the road in Denver, you kind of cringe a little bit and you're like, eh, maybe I should go with someone else here.
- 30:16SPEAKER_02: So for me, because of the lack of rushing upside and perhaps the you know spike weeks to some degree, where some of them are a little bit lower, he just starts the tier four for me right behind Jackson Dart and Bonics.
- 30:30SPEAKER_05: Yeah, but you guys are forgetting one thing, he's single now, and he he's going through that arc of of oh, I was I was engaged, I had the proposal, I had a girlfriend the whole time.
- 30:42SPEAKER_05: He's single now.
- 30:43SPEAKER_05: He had a pre-wedding, uh, you know, breakup.
- 30:47SPEAKER_05: I don't know, man.
- 30:48SPEAKER_05: Like he's he's he's got a chip on a shoulder, he's got nothing else to lose.
- 30:53SPEAKER_05: It could be different with him, it could be different now.
- 30:55SPEAKER_05: Um kidding, that's a terrible way to analyze somebody.
- 31:00SPEAKER_05: Can't wait for what says was that something about JJ McCarthy?
- 31:03SPEAKER_05: JJ McCarthy, yeah.
- 31:04SPEAKER_05: JJ McCarthy, the little nine, still be one too.
- 31:10SPEAKER_02: I was I was talking to my buddy about it um the other day, and yeah, I mean, I don't I certainly don't think his career is over by any means.
- 31:18SPEAKER_02: Like, you know, it was a tough stretch.
- 31:20SPEAKER_02: He did get better as the season went on at towards the end.
- 31:23SPEAKER_02: I mean, the Vikings won their last five games.
- 31:25SPEAKER_02: Like Kyler, you know, he is injury prone.
- 31:28SPEAKER_02: Like, I see a world where you know he ends up having to play some games, and you know, he's got the work ethic to get it done.
- 31:34SPEAKER_02: Um, he's one of those guys I feel like he was just like trying too hard and not relaxing and just playing football.
- 31:41SPEAKER_02: And towards the end of the year, when the stakes weren't as high, we saw him play better because of it.
- 31:46SPEAKER_02: And you know, the offensive line play wasn't great either.
- 31:49SPEAKER_02: I'm not crowning nine, I'm not crowning JJ McCarthy.
- 31:52SPEAKER_02: I'm just saying I don't believe like his career's over or anything like that.
- 31:55SPEAKER_03: And and how and how the hell can you not relax?
- 31:57SPEAKER_03: It didn't he do yoga and like I've done yoga.
- 32:00SPEAKER_03: Yeah, like the meditation, like that is like that is like one of the relax most relaxing state of minds that you can I I've ever possibly been in.
- 32:07SPEAKER_03: So I don't understand that, man.
- 32:09SPEAKER_03: Does he just get too hyped up when he's out there on the field?
- 32:11SPEAKER_03: It seems like it does a good call.
- 32:13SPEAKER_05: Now, that being said, I don't know how meditation does get you relaxed.
- 32:16SPEAKER_05: Like, all I do is if I'm meditating, is I sit there and dwell on what is getting me stressed out.
- 32:21SPEAKER_05: I feel like it just makes it worse.
- 32:23SPEAKER_03: But no, you block it out, matter.
- 32:26SPEAKER_03: You block it out.
- 32:27SPEAKER_05: It doesn't work, it doesn't work for me.
- 32:28SPEAKER_05: Who are we thinking for comeback player of the year?
- 32:32SPEAKER_05: Nico.
- 32:32SPEAKER_05: I know this is a tough question to be put on the spot, but hey, can't Campana.
- 32:37SPEAKER_05: I don't know what Campana fan is, but uh he wants to know.
- 32:41SPEAKER_02: Ooh, let's go with JD5.
- 32:44SPEAKER_02: KD5?
- 32:45SPEAKER_02: I mean, yeah, that's Jaden Daniels.
- 32:47SPEAKER_02: I mean, he was the what was it, QB five um in his rookie campaign.
- 32:52SPEAKER_02: I know we've talked about it in past shows.
- 32:54SPEAKER_02: Yeah, QB five memory served me well there.
- 32:57SPEAKER_02: Um, I mean, he's positioned it to be in a great bounce back position, you know.
- 33:02SPEAKER_02: I feel like the commanders aren't gonna have that uh first place schedule, they're gonna have kind of that fourth place schedule because they were not very good last year.
- 33:10SPEAKER_02: And you know, I just feel like he's got that rushing upside that I'm always looking for.
- 33:15SPEAKER_02: Terry McLaurin's healthy.
- 33:16SPEAKER_02: Uh, we'll talk about it later, but big fan of Chig.
- 33:19SPEAKER_02: Um, I think they'll still go get a wide receiver too, and Rashad White can do some damage in the passing game out of the backfield.
- 33:26SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's it's Joe Burrow for me, man.
- 33:29SPEAKER_03: It's it's cool, Joe.
- 33:31SPEAKER_03: I I look, I think that this might be yeah, man.
- 33:35SPEAKER_03: I look, I am all in on this bingo, huh?
- 33:39SPEAKER_03: Yeah, he qualifies.
- 33:40SPEAKER_03: He was hurt half the he was hurt half the year last year.
- 33:43SPEAKER_03: What do you mean?
- 33:44SPEAKER_02: Yeah, eight games.
- 33:45SPEAKER_03: All right, he came back like for four weeks, but yeah, he's he he was I guess Jaden played seven.
- 33:50SPEAKER_02: It felt like Jaden played way less.
- 33:53SPEAKER_03: Well, yeah, but but Jaden, but Jaden came back and got hurt, and and Joe Burrow was just out, like he was just he missed consecutive weeks.
- 34:02SPEAKER_03: But I think that Joe Burrow is one of those guys that look we already know as long the only thing that's gonna stop him is health.
- 34:10SPEAKER_03: Like if he is healthy, the dude can put up MVP seasons like that.
- 34:14SPEAKER_03: So I think it's I think it's easily Joe Burrow.
- 34:17SPEAKER_03: I think that he could be not only comeback player of the year, dare I say MVP of the league too.
- 34:23SPEAKER_03: I think that you could get both of those from him.
- 34:25SPEAKER_03: You know what?
- 34:25SPEAKER_03: Go look at go what I would do if I were you guys, I would go, and I know Nico's more the betting guy, I would go look at the numbers for Joe Burrow right now, uh for MVP, and then I would go look for comeback player of the year and then place your bets, place your bets, maybe on both.
- 34:41SPEAKER_03: But yeah, I'm telling you, I think just Joe Burrow.
- 34:43SPEAKER_03: What about you?
- 34:44SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I think uh Malik Neighbors has a really good shot with his situation to ease into it just because uh realistically, I don't think there's too many other people who are set up to have comeback player of the year other than him.
- 34:57SPEAKER_05: Like you could think of Brock Purdy, he missed half the year, Joe Burrow, uh JD5.
- 35:02SPEAKER_05: There's probably a couple more that you know I'm missing off the back of my mind.
- 35:05SPEAKER_05: Maybe if Aaron Rodgers has like a halfway decent season that he could potentially snag it, but I think Malik Neighbors is probably an easy lock.
- 35:12SPEAKER_05: Um, what do we think about Justin Herbert since he got engaged to Madison Beer?
- 35:16SPEAKER_05: I mean, apparently he's cooked, that's it.
- 35:18SPEAKER_05: It's over.
- 35:18SPEAKER_05: He's I don't even know who Madison Beer is.
- 35:21SPEAKER_05: Yeah, let me check out.
- 35:22SPEAKER_05: I don't remember.
- 35:23SPEAKER_02: I don't remember who tweeted this, but someone tweeted something about like professional athlete quarterbacks that got engaged and what happened in the following season.
- 35:32SPEAKER_02: And it was like NFC championship, like Super Bowl, like across the board.
- 35:38SPEAKER_02: I I again I was just scrolling, like I don't have the exact tweet and all I can say is he's been good.
- 35:46SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 35:47SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 35:48SPEAKER_02: Good for him.
- 35:49SPEAKER_03: Um yeah, uh so no, but no, and when I think about Justin Herbert, I damn the the the the girlfriend wifey thing, but I I I will tell you this.
- 36:01SPEAKER_03: I like um the fact that Mike McDaniels so so so what what they're gonna do is they're gonna run the ball a lot.
- 36:08SPEAKER_03: They're gonna we already know that.
- 36:09SPEAKER_03: But they the in that we talked about on the show, they've switched up his footing, uh his foot position to where he's now in shotgun.
- 36:16SPEAKER_03: Justin Herbert is leading with his left foot, getting the ball out of there quicker, and I think that's the key.
- 36:21SPEAKER_03: Him getting the ball out of his hands quicker is gonna be the key to him not getting hurt.
- 36:26SPEAKER_03: So I love Justin Herbert.
- 36:29SPEAKER_02: Even though I think where do you guys have him?
- 36:31SPEAKER_02: I have him as my QB10.
- 36:34SPEAKER_02: I have him slipping a little bit.
- 36:36SPEAKER_05: I have him, I think like oh 50.
- 36:38SPEAKER_02: I love all chips like the old school, he's got the pen and paper.
- 36:42SPEAKER_02: Oh, I got old school papers.
- 36:43SPEAKER_02: I can hear him shuffling.
- 36:45SPEAKER_03: I got him at 11.
- 36:46SPEAKER_03: I got him at 11.
- 36:47SPEAKER_03: So right, right, like right there with Dak Prescott, uh Rob Purry.
- 36:52SPEAKER_05: I got him at 12.
- 36:53SPEAKER_05: I got him, which is I mean, it's all at that point, it's all kind of the same a little bit.
- 36:57SPEAKER_05: Uh yeah, it's one of those quarterbacks.
- 36:59SPEAKER_03: If you're willing to, if you're really willing to wait, really, really, really willing to wait, you can get Justin Herbert and you will be happy.
- 37:05SPEAKER_03: I mean, you're gonna it's it's Justin Herbert, you gotta deal with certain things, but I think in this offense, you're gonna be really happy.
- 37:11SPEAKER_02: And that kind of goes back to what I was saying about, I mean, we talked about Hertz, we talked about Williams, we didn't really talk about T Law, but we mentioned Purdy, Herbert, Bo Nicks, Jackson Dart, like all of these guys are in a and even Dak, you could you can argue Dak in that same tier, absolutely.
- 37:27SPEAKER_02: Like, I personally don't, but like absolutely worth the argument.
- 37:30SPEAKER_02: Like, all these guys are in a tier where it's like if you can capitalize on a flex position player at that you know, fifth, sixth round and grab whatever falls later, like you're getting better value in your drafts.
- 37:46SPEAKER_02: And I know I touched on that a little bit uh when Tip had asked me about the one QB leagues.
- 37:52SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I mean, is there any other specific uh quarterback you guys want to talk about?
- 37:57SPEAKER_05: Because I you know, I was looking at Brock Purdy and he had again more wide receiver, uh not wide receiver, I keep saying that he had more quarterback one finishes than like Lamar Jackson.
- 38:07SPEAKER_05: Actually, I lied, Lamar Jackson had zero quarterback one finishes.
- 38:11SPEAKER_05: Um, and he only played half the season, so you know he he did better and played less than somebody like that.
- 38:18SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I think he is also not not necessarily just Dak Prescott, but I think also Brock Purdy is another person that you have to be heavily going after at their current ADP just because of all the value that they get, and he did it with who Joan Jennings as his wide receiver one tied it.
- 38:35SPEAKER_05: George Kittle was gone halfway through the season with his Achilles.
- 38:38SPEAKER_05: Uh McCaffrey didn't show an ounce of a running game to help him out.
- 38:41SPEAKER_05: It was all him for the most part.
- 38:43SPEAKER_05: And now they have uh Mike Evans.
- 38:46SPEAKER_05: Now they got their rookie popping off.
- 38:47SPEAKER_05: And side note on the rookie, right?
- 38:49SPEAKER_05: So you guys were mentioning the clips on Twitter or X, and I remember seeing a clip of him running, I think it was a corner out, and I'm like, that was the most average thing I've ever seen in my life.
- 38:59SPEAKER_05: And then I look, and then Nico writes, that was not impressive, that did literally nothing.
- 39:04SPEAKER_05: And I'm like, yeah, literally the same.
- 39:05SPEAKER_05: I uh so I gotta get chuckle out of that, but anyway, yeah.
- 39:08SPEAKER_02: No, Brock Purdy, I mean, he averaged 20.8 fantasy points per game, um, which was fifth amongst quarterbacks.
- 39:15SPEAKER_02: I mean, he was incredibly efficient.
- 39:18SPEAKER_02: Uh, he was, you know, averaged 0.23 EPA per play, second only to Drake May.
- 39:24SPEAKER_02: Um, he completed 69.4% of his passes, three rushing touchdowns.
- 39:30SPEAKER_02: You know, he has some rushing upside.
- 39:32SPEAKER_02: It's not a lead, it's not bad.
- 39:34SPEAKER_02: I mean, inside the top 10 in fantasy points per game in three straight seasons, now he gets Mike Evans too.
- 39:40SPEAKER_02: I'm a huge fan of Brock Purdy.
- 39:42SPEAKER_02: He's probably one of the most he's one of the quarterbacks I'm targeting the most in a lot of my drafts, and I kind of have him, which is why I have him at QB9.
- 39:54SPEAKER_02: You know, I'm not sure where most consensus rankings have him.
- 39:58SPEAKER_02: I mean, one that I'm looking at right now, you know, he's going as the 11th.
- 40:03SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 40:04SPEAKER_02: So like I have him higher in my rankings than I feel like most ECR uh rankings do.
- 40:10SPEAKER_03: I think I think with Brock Purdy, that my only reservation is that, you know, you're right.
- 40:17SPEAKER_03: They my only reservation is the rushing.
- 40:20SPEAKER_03: I mean, he he rushes, but it's like I don't know, it's just it's just different.
- 40:25SPEAKER_03: And sometimes he'll rush only like during I remember there was that that playoffs uh season where he was just I was just like, where the hell is all this?
- 40:33SPEAKER_03: Why wouldn't he doing this in the season?
- 40:34SPEAKER_03: I get it, you don't want to get hurt, but like, why is wasn't he doing any of the stuff in the season?
- 40:39SPEAKER_03: And um, that's my only thing.
- 40:41SPEAKER_03: And then, like, sometimes, you know, well, it is it is good to have Christian McCaffrey.
- 40:47SPEAKER_03: So maybe I should start thinking about moving Brock Purdy up a little bit more, but I want to see him do a little bit more rushing, uh, for him to jump up just a little bit more.
- 40:54SPEAKER_03: Um, I do have Dak Prescott ahead of him just because the the wide receivers, it's it's yeah, you gotta like that.
- 41:02SPEAKER_03: I'm going with that, I'm going with that group all the time.
- 41:04SPEAKER_03: Um, now Mike Mike Evans being there and you know stribling, and then obviously if um Ricky Pearsall forget about Christian Kirk.
- 41:16SPEAKER_03: Christian Kirk.
- 41:17SPEAKER_03: Wait, no, he'll probably get cut or something.
- 41:20SPEAKER_03: No, he probably no, he probably will stay on the team now that Ricky Pearsall's banged up again.
- 41:24SPEAKER_03: Like it's just I'm not gonna draft him on any, but yeah, it's just with Brock Purdy, he's just kind of one of those meh guys for me.
- 41:31SPEAKER_02: Yeah, well, let's switch over to uh the tight end position.
- 41:35SPEAKER_02: But before we do, you know, make sure to hit that like and subscribe button.
- 41:40SPEAKER_02: Uh, drop us a follow on the socials to stay up to date on what we're working on, our rankings, news, and help you guys and gals win your fantasy leagues.
- 41:51SPEAKER_02: Um, if you're watching live, let us know your thoughts on the discussions.
- 41:54SPEAKER_02: And if you agree or disagree on our rankings, Kelly's gonna be dropping our link tree into the comments.
- 42:01SPEAKER_02: But guys, do you guys play in any tight end premium leagues?
- 42:05SPEAKER_02: I'm playing in one, and I feel like it's not something I commonly do with a lot of my you know leagues that I'm in.
- 42:12SPEAKER_02: But um, do you guys do?
- 42:14SPEAKER_02: And if so, does it change your draft strategy at all?
- 42:16SPEAKER_02: And if so, could you guys talk through it?
- 42:19SPEAKER_02: Uh, Tip, you can go first.
- 42:21SPEAKER_03: Yeah, for me, I I I treat a tight end premium.
- 42:24SPEAKER_03: I still don't go after the heavy hitters, I go after like those, those mid like those guys like um like uh Isaiah likely, like those high upside guys, a Chigazam and Kakko.
- 42:34SPEAKER_03: I'm still gonna go after those guys because they're still gonna get you those points that you're looking for.
- 42:39SPEAKER_03: Maybe they're not gonna get it at the same clip as a Brock Purdy or as a Trey McBride.
- 42:44SPEAKER_03: But now with Jacoby Burst, well, I don't know because we'll we'll catch up with the Cardinals later.
- 42:49SPEAKER_03: We'll talk about that.
- 42:50SPEAKER_03: But um the tight end premium league, I don't really treat it any differently.
- 42:55SPEAKER_03: Like it's almost kind of like with the Q the super flex.
- 42:58SPEAKER_03: I'm still waiting at quarterback.
- 43:00SPEAKER_03: Um, it's just one of those positions where I'm not gonna force myself to go after somebody like Brock Bowers, Trey McBride when I can get myself a quality running back uh in that area as well.
- 43:12SPEAKER_03: Um, so it's just it's it's not enough to move the needle for me.
- 43:16SPEAKER_03: Sometimes those quarter or those uh tight end premiums are like 0.5, an extra 0.5 points, or maybe an extra point.
- 43:23SPEAKER_03: I mean, that's cool, it's cute, but I'd rather just have one of those studs that that I know I can get and then still wait a little bit at quarter or at tight end.
- 43:31SPEAKER_03: Maybe I'm not gonna wait as as much as I would if it was just a standard redraft league, but um but in in the tight end premiums, I'm definitely gonna jump it up just a notch.
- 43:42SPEAKER_03: What about you, Natter?
- 43:44SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I avoid tight ends in general.
- 43:47SPEAKER_05: I think they're a wasted slot in fantasy football.
- 43:50SPEAKER_05: If I'm in a league and you invite me to the league, I'm going to advocate that you remove the tight end position and then add a second flex.
- 43:57SPEAKER_05: It just makes the league 10 times more enjoyable.
- 44:00SPEAKER_05: That point, uh tight end premium.
- 44:02SPEAKER_05: You want me to do tight end premium?
- 44:04SPEAKER_02: I was gonna say, I don't think Natter's in any tight end premium leagues.
- 44:07SPEAKER_05: If I join a league, if I go to the tight end premium, I'm out.
- 44:11SPEAKER_03: Natter's advocating for tight ends to leave fantasy football.
- 44:14SPEAKER_05: He there's no way kickers are more important than tight ends.
- 44:19SPEAKER_05: Like that to me, that's not even a hot take.
- 44:21SPEAKER_05: Like, if you eliminated the tight end position in actual football, nothing would change.
- 44:27SPEAKER_05: But if you eliminate the kicker position in football, it'd be a huge dramatic difference.
- 44:33SPEAKER_05: No need for tight ends.
- 44:34SPEAKER_05: Like this segment here that we're gonna talk about tight ends now, and I'm not looking for that.
- 44:38SPEAKER_02: Natter's gonna take a nap.
- 44:40SPEAKER_03: Um for me, like no, you know what, Natter, go get those eye things to put over your eyes.
- 44:47SPEAKER_02: Um for me, when it comes to tight end premium leagues, and again, I haven't done as many as regular redrafts.
- 44:54SPEAKER_02: I really like to target guys that you know I feel like are gonna be like PPR hogs, like you know, maybe your uh Travis Kelsey's, you know, something along those lines.
- 45:06SPEAKER_02: Like, I'm more prone to taking guys that I know are gonna get a lot of targets, but maybe not gonna go anywhere with it.
- 45:13SPEAKER_02: So, like someone like Harold Fannon kind of moves up the rankings a little bit, Tyler Warren, absolute smash play.
- 45:19SPEAKER_02: I know we're gonna talk a little bit more about him um in a little bit.
- 45:23SPEAKER_02: Um, but netter, I know that you hate tight ends, I get it, but I also noticed that you have Sam Laporta as your number five tight end, and we got to talk about it, dude, because I don't I don't think Tip does either, and you have him at number five.
- 45:39SPEAKER_02: Why?
- 45:44SPEAKER_05: The offense, the offense, and the situation he gets put in is all the reason that he gets elevated into a spot.
- 45:52SPEAKER_05: Uh, I mean, he's gonna have a ton a bunch of red zone looks, he's gonna have a bunch of target opportunities because the wide receivers on the outside are gonna attract most of the attention.
- 46:01SPEAKER_05: He's gonna fat, he's gonna be facing a lot of safeties instead of linebackers and coverage because a lot of linebackers are gonna be stacked up in the box, and even the safety is gonna be stacked up line up with the box.
- 46:10SPEAKER_05: You're gonna see a lot of potentially cover one man and cover three zone, making it so that he's able to torch that safety.
- 46:17SPEAKER_05: Uh, he does hog up a lot of red zone targets, and he's able to win you weeks when he has those multi-touchdown games.
- 46:23SPEAKER_05: You win your weeks because of them.
- 46:24SPEAKER_05: There aren't very many tight ends on this list that we're gonna be discussing that can win you your week minus the upper echelon of the top two.
- 46:32SPEAKER_05: Other than that, you know what you're just kind of hoping for consistency out of the other ones, four receptions for 50 yards, and maybe one of them tumbles into the end zone.
- 46:41SPEAKER_05: That's kind of what you're really looking at for almost the rest of the tight ends on the list, unless one of them ends up kind of breaking out, which realistically I don't kind of see making it so Sam Laporta at his current ADP almost an easy smash hit.
- 46:54SPEAKER_05: We'll be discussing more sleepers later on on which ones I personally are gonna be discussing for and pushing for, but Sam Laporta at five.
- 47:01SPEAKER_05: I feel like it's not necessarily him at five, it's nobody else is better than him.
- 47:08SPEAKER_03: Wow, you're not worried about the herniated disc, huh?
- 47:11SPEAKER_05: No, no, no.
- 47:12SPEAKER_05: Like he's he's he's a grown man, painkillers are strong, he's 26, but he'll be fine.
- 47:17SPEAKER_02: 25.5, and he's already got back problems.
- 47:20SPEAKER_02: Uh, yikes.
- 47:21SPEAKER_02: I mean, same and a lot of mouths to feed.
- 47:24SPEAKER_02: Yeah, no, I know what do you think about that tip?
- 47:27SPEAKER_02: What do you what do you think about Laporta five?
- 47:29SPEAKER_02: And also, where do you have him?
- 47:30SPEAKER_03: I love Sam Laporta.
- 47:31SPEAKER_03: Sam Sam Laporta is one of those tight ends that I always go after.
- 47:35SPEAKER_03: And you ask me, where do I have Sam Laporta?
- 47:37SPEAKER_03: I have him after Jake Ferguson, I have him after Travis Swift.
- 47:40SPEAKER_03: I mean Travis Kelsey.
- 47:42SPEAKER_03: So I have him as Travis Swift, I have him as number 13 on my list, guys.
- 47:49SPEAKER_03: Um and it's it's nothing more.
- 47:53SPEAKER_03: It's and it's nothing more than the herniated disc with me with him.
- 47:57SPEAKER_03: It it I just don't want because I know he's the type of player, he's almost like one of those tight ends who likes to do those chip blocks as well.
- 48:04SPEAKER_03: And it could just be one of those chip blocks, and you know, he he he he just something happens where it just really can hurt his back.
- 48:12SPEAKER_03: I'm feel the same way about George Kittle.
- 48:14SPEAKER_03: I think that George Kittle, he's one of those guys you can't ask him not to block, he that's what he loves to do.
- 48:19SPEAKER_03: So with his Achilles injury blocking 270, 300-pound men, I'm just nervous about it, and I'm nervous about Sam Laporta.
- 48:27SPEAKER_03: That's it.
- 48:28SPEAKER_03: I love the player.
- 48:30SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I mean, I get it.
- 48:32SPEAKER_02: I have him as my tight end eight.
- 48:35SPEAKER_02: Um, you know, injuries aside, like he did remain very efficient.
- 48:41SPEAKER_02: Uh, he produced 48, 489 yards on only 249 routes, which is uh 1.96 yards per route run.
- 48:49SPEAKER_02: He caught 81.6 percent of his targets, and since entering the league, like Laporta does rank six among tight ends with a 1.75 yard per route run.
- 48:59SPEAKER_02: Like for me, the issue and is which is why I have him as my tight end eight is target competition.
- 49:06SPEAKER_02: Like Amon Ra total target hog beast.
- 49:10SPEAKER_02: Jamison Williams.
- 49:12SPEAKER_02: I'm not super high on him in most formats outside of best ball, but like Jameer Gibbs gets involved as well.
- 49:19SPEAKER_02: Uh, I'm a fan of Isaac Tesla.
- 49:22SPEAKER_02: I'm not, you know, he's more of a red zone threat.
- 49:24SPEAKER_02: But like, point being, like, I just don't see him getting a target share that is advantageous.
- 49:30SPEAKER_02: And I feel that he's gonna have to make up for it in yak and touchdowns.
- 49:35SPEAKER_02: So that's kind of why I have him at the middle of the pack at my tight end eight.
- 49:40SPEAKER_03: Yeah, which he could.
- 49:40SPEAKER_03: I mean, he could have those touchdowns.
- 49:42SPEAKER_03: That's what you're looking for with him.
- 49:43SPEAKER_03: That's what you're looking for for any tight end is you're looking for those touchdowns.
- 49:46SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I kind of have him at the back half of my tier three tight ends, which is fair.
- 49:52SPEAKER_05: I can't argue with that.
- 49:53SPEAKER_05: Now, let me tell you tip you got Tyler Warren ranked ranked ahead of Colson Loveland.
- 50:01SPEAKER_05: Um, yeah, I don't know about that one, Chief.
- 50:03SPEAKER_05: You're gonna have to uh it's just explain that one.
- 50:06SPEAKER_03: It's one ranking, so I have Tyler Warren three, Colson Loveland four.
- 50:10SPEAKER_03: I just I look with uh Alec Pierce being banged up, no Michael Pittman Jr.
- 50:15SPEAKER_03: anymore.
- 50:16SPEAKER_03: Um, yes, there's there's Jonathan Taylor, who I think they're gonna use a ton.
- 50:21SPEAKER_03: Yes, there's Josh Downs, but that's pretty much it.
- 50:24SPEAKER_03: Um, I'm really high on Colston Loveland.
- 50:26SPEAKER_03: I think that he could, he's he's you go back and look at how many targets he had last year.
- 50:31SPEAKER_03: I think he's a candidate for 130 targets easily this year uh in this offense.
- 50:35SPEAKER_03: I think Alec Pierce will find himself, you know, he'll he'll get anywhere from you know five to seven targets per game.
- 50:42SPEAKER_03: But steady Eddie is gonna be Tyler Warren.
- 50:45SPEAKER_03: That's one of the reasons why.
- 50:46SPEAKER_03: I think that whoever the quarterback is, we know it's gonna be uh Daniel Jones, but at one some point during the season, is he gonna stay healthy?
- 50:55SPEAKER_03: I think that whoever the quarterback is, even if it's Anthony Richardson, I think that he is going to be a player, Tyler Warren, that can still be consistent regardless of who that quarterback is.
- 51:05SPEAKER_03: I'm not gonna say quarterback proof, I'm not gonna say that yet, but he, whoever the quarterback is, he's just that guy that you can line up anywhere.
- 51:13SPEAKER_03: And don't be surprised if we see him in that tush push um uh pos uh formation as well.
- 51:20SPEAKER_03: Because he's one of those guys you can line up anywhere and do a lot of different things with.
- 51:28SPEAKER_02: I mean, listen, I personally have Tyler Warren as my tight end three above Colson Loveland as well.
- 51:36SPEAKER_02: So I agree.
- 51:38SPEAKER_02: I think that's like Alec Pierce is like he's gonna be injured coming into the season.
- 51:44SPEAKER_02: Josh Downs right now is a projected wide receiver one.
- 51:47SPEAKER_02: Yes, do I see them probably going to get like a digs or like a Keenan Allen?
- 51:51SPEAKER_02: Probably, but like Warren is gonna see a tremendous target share.
- 51:56SPEAKER_02: Daniel Jones coming off his Achilles injury, he's probably gonna struggle to throw the deep ball.
- 52:01SPEAKER_02: Like, Warren's gonna have so many more targets compared to what I feel Loveland is gonna have, and it's just because of the fact that they do have Luther Burden, they do have Roma Dunze, so the target competition is a little bit higher.
- 52:16SPEAKER_02: Whereas Warren, to me, I mean, he's like the clear almost wide receiver one on the team, especially with Pierce out.
- 52:24SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I mean, to me, I think the biggest issue is that you shouldn't be drafting any of these players to begin with.
- 52:31SPEAKER_05: Um, and that's not even me trying to like troll a little bit.
- 52:34SPEAKER_05: It's like serious.
- 52:35SPEAKER_05: Like, if you don't take Brock Bowers and you don't take Trey McBride, you shouldn't be taking anybody in the middle pack other than Sam Laporta.
- 52:42SPEAKER_05: And if you don't touch him, the next tight end you should be touching is Jake Ferguson at that point, and then that stack of Tucker Kraft, um, George Kittle, uh, you know, Jake Ferguson, Kyle, maybe even Kyle.
- 52:53SPEAKER_05: I'd rather you touch Kyle Pitts before you go into that middle pack.
- 52:56SPEAKER_05: And you know that's saying a lot from me.
- 52:58SPEAKER_05: Uh Isaiah likely, Hunter Henry, stuff like that.
- 53:01SPEAKER_05: Travis, Travis Kelsey, in my opinion, is the best value of the tight end positions.
- 53:05SPEAKER_05: I feel like him being married now and starting to honestly, he's probably gonna be one of the uh the main focal points of this offense in his later years is well, what is his ADP?
- 53:16SPEAKER_05: Like the 10th round right now.
- 53:18SPEAKER_05: I think it's like a crazy low number.
- 53:20SPEAKER_05: I have to double check it before I start spewing fake news, but it's it's at a spot where it's like really like god, like it can't be that bad of a drop off where I'm not gonna invest uh a tight end uh uh pick 105 105 or 1005.
- 53:36SPEAKER_05: No, like 105th overall, 105th, yeah.
- 53:39SPEAKER_05: So if it's a 12 team league, that's like early ninth, right?
- 53:43SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 53:44SPEAKER_02: I mean, I I definitely view, I mean, we talked about rice the other week a little bit, like the short intermediate game is gonna be where Mahomes is gonna live this year.
- 53:54SPEAKER_02: You know, he's gonna try to be very efficient, but um, so that should bode well for you know targets and whatnot with uh Kelsey and Rice, but there we go.
- 54:05SPEAKER_03: Now, Nico, I really like your 14th uh ranked tight end, Chickazam and Conquo.
- 54:10SPEAKER_03: Do you see a realistic path where he can finish as a top seven tight end this season?
- 54:17SPEAKER_02: Yeah, no.
- 54:18SPEAKER_02: Um, Chig is someone I'm gonna say, yeah, no.
- 54:22SPEAKER_02: I mean, listen, I he's someone I'm very comfortable drafting if I do miss out on some of the elite guys like Bowers.
- 54:29SPEAKER_02: You know, Kanku moves into a really intriguing situation uh with the commanders' projected starting tight end.
- 54:35SPEAKER_02: He's super athletic, he dominated his NFL combine, albeit four years ago.
- 54:40SPEAKER_02: Uh, he's kind of a yak god, if you will.
- 54:44SPEAKER_02: Um, you know, I think at the end of the day, we talked about JD5, you know, and right now, as long as the commanders don't bring in a wide receiver to like a digs or Keenan Allen to soak up a lot of target share.
- 54:57SPEAKER_02: Right now, Chig's the number two option in the offense.
- 54:59SPEAKER_02: And you know, JD5 has shown that he likes to throw to his tight ends.
- 55:03SPEAKER_02: Ertz saw 91 targets in 2024, and he finished as the tight end eight.
- 55:09SPEAKER_02: So top seven, probably not, but I could see him in that eight to 12 range, which I think is tremendous value based on where he's going in drafts, and I personally rank him as my tight end 14.
- 55:21SPEAKER_03: You know, uh okay, so I love it.
- 55:24SPEAKER_03: Now, one other thing that we also have to look at is uh QB tight end stacks, and they can't you can't ignore those.
- 55:31SPEAKER_03: I mean when I go back and I think of QB tight end stacks, I think of Jermichael Finley, Aaron Rodgers.
- 55:36SPEAKER_03: That was a really good stack back in the day.
- 55:38SPEAKER_03: Um, I also think of Orange Julius, Julius Tom Thomas, and uh Peyton Manning when he had that that uh historical uh record-breaking touchdown season back in I believe it was 2005 or so.
- 55:51SPEAKER_03: So 2027.
- 55:52SPEAKER_03: Uh, but uh anyway, those are the some stacks that we're looking at.
- 55:56SPEAKER_03: So I want to talk to you guys about your different stacks.
- 55:58SPEAKER_03: Natter talk to us about a QB stack that you think could work real quick.
- 56:03SPEAKER_05: Yeah, you know, Jake Ferguson and Dak Prescott has got to be the stack that I really, really would be happy with if I left my redraft league, half point PPR to be specific.
- 56:15SPEAKER_05: Uh we uh left them with that combination of that stack.
- 56:19SPEAKER_05: I mean, you're looking at Jake Ferguson who had who went through a stretch of tight end three, three, five, two, ten, four, seven, nine.
- 56:26SPEAKER_05: Like you're telling me like that's a bad stack combination with Dak Prescott, who also Dak Prescott, you know, he has his other monsters that he could throw too in C D Lamb, you know, uh George Pickens and all that good stuff.
- 56:39SPEAKER_05: So it's an inexpensive stack, which is also incredibly important because if you need to cut bait with it, if one of them gets hurt or they're on a bye week, you can kind of cut bait and pivot to something else, and you didn't completely ruin your redraft draft because you still have your elite wide receivers, you have your upper echelon RBs, and then of course you have the hamburger in between, and then of course you could wrap it up with the tight end and Dak Prescott at it as well.
- 57:05SPEAKER_05: Easy stack for you to go at.
- 57:07SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I like that stack.
- 57:08SPEAKER_03: Uh I like it a lot actually.
- 57:10SPEAKER_03: But I will tell you what I'm gonna talk about my number four ranked tight end Colston Loveland and stacking him with Caleb Williams.
- 57:18SPEAKER_03: I think that that could become an absolute elite stack.
- 57:21SPEAKER_03: You may have to pay up a little bit for it, especially for the Colston Loveland piece.
- 57:25SPEAKER_03: Um, the the Caleb Williams, a moderate price, but um, if you can find your way to get either one of those stacks, the Dak Prescott, the Jake Ferguson, which is a little cheaper, or if you can go with the Colston Loveland, uh Caleb Williams, I think those either one of those will work.
- 57:38SPEAKER_03: What about you, Nico?
- 57:39SPEAKER_03: What's yours?
- 57:40SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I love yours tip.
- 57:42SPEAKER_02: We talked about the stack attack, I think, in episode two, and that was mine.
- 57:46SPEAKER_02: Um, and I agree it's gonna be expensive, but it could be elite.
- 57:50SPEAKER_02: Mine's gonna be, I think you'll like it too.
- 57:53SPEAKER_02: I saw your rankings, I think you'll like this one, but I'm gonna go with Hertz and Goddard.
- 57:57SPEAKER_02: Uh, with the departure of AJ Brown, Goddard should step up and be the second pass catch catching off option um on this offense behind Devontae Smith.
- 58:07SPEAKER_02: Um, you know, he saw 82 targets last year at 20 target share, which was eighth amongst tight ends, uh, second in route participation, and he's a big time red zone threat, uh, which allows you to double dip with Hertz.
- 58:20SPEAKER_02: You know, he was seventh in red zone targets, fifth in red zone share.
- 58:24SPEAKER_02: And the Eagles love to run those RPO plays when they are down in the red, which usually results in really easy TD passes to Goddard in the flat.
- 58:34SPEAKER_02: Um, you know, he had 11 TDs last year, which was a career year for him.
- 58:39SPEAKER_02: And he's had, you know, a pretty solid uh yard per reception per set.
- 58:44SPEAKER_02: Oh wow, yards per reception mark uh with 11.4 in his career.
- 58:50SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that's another good one.
- 58:51SPEAKER_03: I think all three of ours were good.
- 58:53SPEAKER_03: There's really no complaints here, but where there has been a ton of complaints uh in on the either X Twitter sphere, uh even in Cardinals uh sphere is catching up with the Cardinals.
- 59:05SPEAKER_03: We're gonna get Kelly up here.
- 59:07SPEAKER_03: Uh Kelly seeing our resident Cardinals fanslash producers, extraordinaire.
- 59:12SPEAKER_03: Kelly, come on up.
- 59:14SPEAKER_00: Um couldn't find the button saved by me.
- 59:25SPEAKER_03: So we gotta catch up with the Cardinals, Kelly.
- 59:28SPEAKER_03: So talk to us about the Cardinals, they've been in the news a lot lately.
- 59:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah, uh, I feel like it's an obsession at this point.
- 59:35SPEAKER_00: Lots of national news, lots of chatter, lots of rumors.
- 59:40SPEAKER_00: I think the biggest thing that sticks out to me and probably everybody is the comparison and route running between Michael Wilson and uh Marvin Harrison Jr.
- 59:51SPEAKER_00: We've seen quite a few drops since the start of camp from Marvin Harrison Jr.
- 59:57SPEAKER_00: Uh, and also let's be clear the Cardinals were one of the first teams to start camp, so that's probably why there's a lot more news out right now.
- 1:00:05SPEAKER_00: But everybody's at camp, maybe it'll quiet down.
- 1:00:09SPEAKER_00: The observation though, Marvin Harrison Jr.
- 1:00:13SPEAKER_00: is not putting in a whole lot of effort.
- 1:00:16SPEAKER_00: He looks slow, he's not hungry to catch the ball.
- 1:00:21SPEAKER_00: If it's a bad pass, you still have to go for it, right?
- 1:00:24SPEAKER_00: Uh, Michael Wilson, he can catch any pass, good or bad.
- 1:00:29SPEAKER_00: The man has velcro hands.
- 1:00:31SPEAKER_00: Um, and you watch the speed.
- 1:00:34SPEAKER_00: It's it's night and day.
- 1:00:35SPEAKER_00: It's night and day, but it's camp.
- 1:00:38SPEAKER_03: Yeah, you know, coaches over there.
- 1:00:40SPEAKER_03: You you gotta tell the coaches over there to shut their mouths too, because Nathaniel Hackett's running his mouth, and and then and then and then the and then the head coach, whatever he had said, talking about we're gonna call a cup a bunch of crap plays.
- 1:00:52SPEAKER_03: What are you talking about, dude?
- 1:00:53SPEAKER_03: Like I thought that was AI at first.
- 1:00:55SPEAKER_00: I didn't know what was no, it's I guess it's like some sort of tactic.
- 1:01:00SPEAKER_00: Like when I played high school basketball and we're gonna throw it in and you start barking.
- 1:01:06SPEAKER_01: So everybody's like, what?
- 1:01:10SPEAKER_03: Oh man, would that catch it up with the cardinals?
- 1:01:13SPEAKER_03: We will be it Kelly will be here during training camp.
- 1:01:16SPEAKER_03: Kelly is like I said, the resident uh Cardinals fan.
- 1:01:20SPEAKER_03: Kelly goes to training camps, so so she actually goes to the practices and gets uh gets her hair has her ears to the street, if I would say the least, out there, or her ears to the sand because it's the desert.
- 1:01:32SPEAKER_03: Uh so but no, appreciate that, Kelly.
- 1:01:34SPEAKER_03: Um, no, really good.
- 1:01:37SPEAKER_03: And then uh Nico, I'm sorry, Natter, you got it.
- 1:01:40SPEAKER_03: What you got, brother?
- 1:01:42SPEAKER_05: So so I just got a dynasty trade offer just this moment, and you know what, it's tight end related, so I feel like you know what?
- 1:01:49SPEAKER_05: All right, you know, it it could be brought up.
- 1:01:51SPEAKER_05: So, right now, my current starting tight end in dynasty is called commit.
- 1:01:55SPEAKER_05: Not good.
- 1:01:55SPEAKER_05: I'm in a rebuild phase a little bit, and I got offered Jake Ferguson for a second round pick.
- 1:02:03SPEAKER_05: Hell yeah, take that in the heartbeat.
- 1:02:05SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I was I was thinking, like, I feel like this is almost a smash, except at this point.
- 1:02:09SPEAKER_05: The guy, you know, he's he's ultra rebuilding.
- 1:02:11SPEAKER_05: I thought I was rebuilding 2026 or 2027.
- 1:02:14SPEAKER_05: Uh 27.
- 1:02:17SPEAKER_03: I mean, that that second round pick for for all attempts.
- 1:02:22SPEAKER_02: I mean, dude, you're rocking Cole Komet.
- 1:02:25SPEAKER_02: Yeah, cold comet.
- 1:02:26SPEAKER_05: Like, he should be on your waiver wire.
- 1:02:29SPEAKER_05: He really should be, you know.
- 1:02:30SPEAKER_05: I and I don't even want to tell you my other bench tied at it like it's even worse.
- 1:02:33SPEAKER_05: I don't even know his name on the Panthers.
- 1:02:34SPEAKER_05: Well, now I want to know.
- 1:02:36SPEAKER_05: I don't know his name on the Panthers.
- 1:02:37SPEAKER_05: I don't even remember Sanders or something like that.
- 1:02:39SPEAKER_03: Oh, I think he's my other Sanders.
- 1:02:42SPEAKER_05: Oh, it's Javion.
- 1:02:43SPEAKER_03: I kind of liked him at one point, but yeah, I did too.
- 1:02:46SPEAKER_05: That's why I had to do it.
- 1:02:47SPEAKER_03: I think you gotta go after it, Natter.
- 1:02:49SPEAKER_03: I think you gotta get it, dude.
- 1:02:50SPEAKER_03: Yeah, because Cole Komet's not gonna do anything for you, bro.
- 1:02:52SPEAKER_05: Yeah, Cole Comet, he's he, you know what?
- 1:02:55SPEAKER_05: He's he's what I hate to tell you to do that, but yeah.
- 1:02:58SPEAKER_05: Uh yeah, I mean, I'm fine with it.
- 1:03:00SPEAKER_02: I'm fine with it.
- 1:03:01SPEAKER_02: It seems fair enough, and you are in a desperate situation where you need the tight end.
- 1:03:06SPEAKER_02: And you know, Jake Ferguson is a massive red zone threat.
- 1:03:09SPEAKER_02: You're a believer in Dak this year.
- 1:03:11SPEAKER_02: You hate tight ends, but you can like Ferguson and you like Dak, so I don't know who's your quarterback, yeah.
- 1:03:19SPEAKER_02: Uh Josh Allen.
- 1:03:21SPEAKER_02: Oh, no problems there.
- 1:03:22SPEAKER_05: Yeah, no, no, you know, I think of him during the rookie draft, and I got roasted by everybody for it.
- 1:03:28SPEAKER_00: So yeah, I just have to.
- 1:03:30SPEAKER_00: You cannot hate tight ends.
- 1:03:32SPEAKER_05: You can't easy, it's so easy to hate tight ends.
- 1:03:34SPEAKER_05: I don't get it.
- 1:03:36SPEAKER_00: I don't know why you hate it.
- 1:03:37SPEAKER_05: I mean, I don't literally nah.
- 1:03:39SPEAKER_05: Literally not.
- 1:03:40SPEAKER_00: I know we've run over, but I really am getting angsty at this point over it, Natter.
- 1:03:46SPEAKER_00: I mean, I I was about to mute you.
- 1:03:50SPEAKER_05: But I'm right.
- 1:03:51SPEAKER_05: You know, you know, the problem is is I'm never wrong.
- 1:03:58SPEAKER_01: Just drop elsewhere.
- 1:04:01SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I don't I don't get your hatred, I don't get your hatred for it, but it is what it is, you know.
- 1:04:08SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I mean, at first it was no, it's okay.
- 1:04:11SPEAKER_03: So I've known Natter for some time now, right?
- 1:04:13SPEAKER_03: And it at first it was it at first it was just Kyle Pitts and Justin Fields, those were like his absolute hates, and then Natter just started to spray sprinkle hate all over, and now he's all over a whole position he doesn't want like Natter.
- 1:04:26SPEAKER_03: No, we need tight ends, brother.
- 1:04:28SPEAKER_05: Come on, like if you just eliminated it, put a second flex, it would elevate the league because you still have the upper echelon tight ends that would still start, right?
- 1:04:36SPEAKER_05: Like, you know, the the the top two Browers and well then you're not getting rid of tight ends, put them in your flex, they would still go over talking about over like of like, oh you know, over still 90% of NFL players that you would put in fantasy football, and then all of a sudden, boom, like uh like you eliminate such a weakness in in fantasy football because it's always a baron in the tight end position of okay, you have your top three, and then okay, streamer status for the rest of the the the league, and it eliminates that gap and it adds more skill because now you have to change the way you draft to make sure that you can fit every single spot on that roster.
- 1:05:14SPEAKER_05: I think we might have to always eliminate the tight end position.
- 1:05:17SPEAKER_03: We might have to have a face-off between you and Kelly.
- 1:05:20SPEAKER_05: That's what's sort of face-off, yeah.
- 1:05:23SPEAKER_03: And then and there's tight ends in our and there's tight ends in our draft that we're doing tomorrow, guys.
- 1:05:28SPEAKER_03: Don't forget about that.
- 1:05:29SPEAKER_03: And everybody, we're doing a draft with our for our league.
- 1:05:33SPEAKER_03: Uh, we've got Kelly, all of us are in it.
- 1:05:35SPEAKER_03: So all of us are in it.
- 1:05:36SPEAKER_03: So um, and then we got some other friends, and then we got the great John Daigle uh from uh Establish the Run.
- 1:05:42SPEAKER_03: He is in the league too.
- 1:05:43SPEAKER_03: So we're gonna have a fun with this best ball league.
- 1:05:46SPEAKER_03: Um, we will be tweeting out some stuff about the league.
- 1:05:49SPEAKER_03: Uh the draft starts tomorrow.
- 1:05:51SPEAKER_03: It's a four-hour clock, if I'm not mistaken, at 11 o'clock.
- 1:05:54SPEAKER_03: Um, I am tonight, as soon as the show is over.
- 1:05:57SPEAKER_03: Uh, I will be randomizing the orders of the drafts uh for everyone.
- 1:06:01SPEAKER_05: Randomizing the gimme one-on-one.
- 1:06:03SPEAKER_03: There you go.
- 1:06:03SPEAKER_03: You might you might get it, brother.
- 1:06:05SPEAKER_03: You might get it.
- 1:06:06SPEAKER_03: But uh, but other than that, me uh Nattery, let's go ahead and close it up.
