- 1:06Jack here. Welcome.
- 1:08Hi. Hi.
- 1:09Hi. How's it going?
- 1:12Going great. It's going excellently.
- 1:14We're just happy to be here with you.
- 1:15Oh. My God, I'm so happy to have you
- 1:17here with me. You guys have been traveling,
- 1:20you've been all over. You've been going to pool
- 1:22parties. You're busy, guy.
- 1:24Pool party, book club, it's the only way to do it.
- 1:26I love that, I love that. What else is on the horizon for
- 1:29you for the rest of the summer? What's going on?
- 1:31What's going on with Mortified? Mortified is moving over to the
- 1:35Federal Theater, which will be exciting.
- 1:37I've still not set foot in it, yeah, but I hope I love it.
- 1:43I I hope we all do. We we love the Oriental folks so
- 1:47much, so I have the utmost. Faith, the Oriental Theater just
- 1:50to be. Oh God.
- 1:54Wow. Yeah, the Oriental Theatre also
- 1:56called the O, which is. There's a reason people call it
- 1:59the O these days. Yeah.
- 2:01So yes. The Oriental Theatre, though, we
- 2:05love so much, yes, they've been our home since 2016.
- 2:10So it really it feels like cheating, but it's not because.
- 2:13Sure, it's an open relationship. It's an open relationship.
- 2:16And we love them for all that they brought to our lives.
- 2:19We do, right? That's right, That's right.
- 2:22So. September 26 The mortified is
- 2:24doing one of the first shows at the federal.
- 2:27So exciting. It's exciting, yeah.
- 2:29Where can people get tickets and stuff?
- 2:31They can go to get mortified.com.
- 2:34Cool. That's right.
- 2:35And we always need especially dudes, dudes since we're in
- 2:40dude. IDK.
- 2:41Yeah. So dudes, dudes, submit your
- 2:44stuff. Yeah, do it up.
- 2:45I've done it before. It's great.
- 2:47Yeah. We've got a couple dudes here
- 2:49who have done it. That's right.
- 2:50That's right. Yeah, and you're on the cusp of
- 2:52doing it one day. Yes.
- 2:54It's true you. Have my treasures?
- 2:56I was just going through more of your treasures today and you
- 2:59talk about a love rhombus which made me almost fall out of my
- 3:03chair. I love the love triangle.
- 3:07Yeah, what about a love parallelogram?
- 3:09Yeah, it could be either. It could be.
- 3:12That's right, it's kind. Of both and.
- 3:14That is, there's an illustration.
- 3:16And that's great. Absolutely.
- 3:18Love that. And that's when they knew she
- 3:19was bisexual. Love, rhombus, querying the
- 3:22definition of love and shapes. That's right.
- 3:27Yeah. I really, I learned what
- 3:29rhombuses are. And I was like, that is so cool.
- 3:32Yeah, I was really excited to that, into my personal life.
- 3:37Yeah, I'm really a moment for me.
- 3:39I was like geometry. Let's do.
- 3:42It Let's do that. That's my thing, yes.
- 3:44Absolutely So. So yeah, thank you for thank you
- 3:47for going through my treasures and taking such good care of
- 3:49them. It's a it's a sacred practice.
- 3:51Yes, I appreciate it. And dudes, especially if you
- 3:55have some treasures, some journals, some artwork, some
- 3:58lyrics. Yeah, some dirty fiction.
- 4:00We love dirty fiction. My gosh, it's like always a
- 4:05treasured moment at the show. And mortified, just in a
- 4:08nutshell, is. Mortified in a nutshell is like,
- 4:12did that age well but with your journal?
- 4:14Yeah, but it with you. With you reading your journal
- 4:18and it's a resounding no. It did not age you.
- 4:22Don't age well, is actually what happens.
- 4:24Which is what's so wonderful. So it's a chance to laugh at
- 4:26yourself and experience the power of community while
- 4:31laughing at yourself. Exactly.
- 4:33Yeah, absolutely. And you've done it a couple.
- 4:35Times. Done it a couple times.
- 4:36Under pressure, yeah. Under pressure post pandemic, he
- 4:39was reaching for the dregs of the people that could get on
- 4:42stage. And went to the bottom.
- 4:44Went to his boyfriend and said here you go.
- 4:46So I had to. It was very like exposing to
- 4:49give him all my journals, more so than even just, you know,
- 4:53being his boyfriend. But he picked out some, some
- 4:56good narrative threads that I didn't even know were there.
- 4:59Yes. And it was amazing.
- 5:01It was awesome. Yeah.
- 5:01Reading in front of a whole audience is cathartic and funny
- 5:05and hilarious and all the above. It was amazing.
- 5:08And now I'm excited for you to do it.
- 5:09Yeah, me too. Me too.
- 5:11And now whenever Jack and I get in a disagreement, I can be
- 5:14like, I know this is a long standing thing because I read
- 5:19your elementary. School girl, talk to your child.
- 5:22Yeah. Yeah.
- 5:24Go back to 1995. Or 1985. 1980.
- 5:30Five this movie. 1985, the year of Teen Wolf.
- 5:33The year of Teen Wolf. The year I was born as well,
- 5:36yeah. Both came into this world 1980.
- 5:39Five. You both were born in 1985.
- 5:41No. Teen Wolf, Me and Jack.
- 5:42Teen Wolf and I were both born in 1985.
- 5:45He was. When you were you born?
- 5:47I was a very sophisticated 5 year old, so I was 1980.
- 5:51OK, great. So you had you had You of
- 5:53course, were watching Teen Wolf. Yeah, because you had
- 5:57sophisticated taste. Yes.
- 5:59Of course. Which this movie is not that.
- 6:06Yeah. One thing that always strikes me
- 6:10when I watch a movie about wolves, when I consider the
- 6:14concept of wolves, is that it's so funny that like Winnie the
- 6:18dog, your tiny little dog, my dogs are all descended from
- 6:23wolves. What the fuck?
- 6:24I. Actually, think about that a
- 6:25lot. You do whenever I'm like tiny
- 6:28dog, yes, my tiny little, our tiny little dog.
- 6:32And I'm like snuggling with her and I'm just like, you are so
- 6:34scared and you are helpless. And how did this ever come
- 6:38about? Evolution.
- 6:39It's an amazing thing. She does do a great howl though.
- 6:42She does. The wolf is in her.
- 6:43One time I woke up in the middle of the night to my dog Izzy, who
- 6:47is otherwise silent. She's like us in Assassin.
- 6:50She'll sneak up on you and with look at you with her big eyes
- 6:53and you just didn't even know that she was there.
- 6:55I woke up in the middle of the night to her howling at the moon
- 6:59from the window. When.
- 7:00Oh, it was so fun. I couldn't stop laughing.
- 7:04That's amazing. Yeah, it was amazing.
- 7:07And in every other sense, she is the farthest thing from a wolf.
- 7:12Certainly a wolf playing basketball, right.
- 7:14I like to see them try that. Yeah.
- 7:16Yeah. I.
- 7:17Would I would love to see. What?
- 7:18She doesn't transmogrify into a human, and she's not a werewolf,
- 7:23unfortunately. And yeah, even if she does
- 7:25highlight the moon, Yeah. There's still time.
- 7:27There's still time. Absolutely.
- 7:28I mean he didn't. He didn't discover he was a
- 7:30werewolf till he was a teen. Right, that's right.
- 7:33Yeah, that's. Right.
- 7:34So there's still time. Yeah.
- 7:37OK. I have a little bit of
- 7:39background on this, which is that Michael J Fox was actually
- 7:42really bad at basketball. Yeah, that's the, that's the the
- 7:45inside you could. Tell when you watch the.
- 7:47I couldn't. Tell Well, there are times when
- 7:50you could tell from the back there's someone doing things
- 7:53you're like, that's not. My, you're like, that's
- 7:54definitely not him. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 7:56yeah, yeah. I mean, they're fortunate that
- 7:58when he was, but when he was good, he was in a wolf suit.
- 8:02So much easier to have a double when you're in like a big hairy
- 8:05wolf suit, you know? This is true, it does make it.
- 8:08Easier. That was good for him.
- 8:10It's important also to remember that this was like during
- 8:14Michael J Fox's like Imperial period, cuz he had just Back to
- 8:17the Future had just come out like 6 weeks before.
- 8:20Yeah. So this was like big time
- 8:22Michael J cuz he was definitely the best thing about Teen Wolf,
- 8:25which is not saying a lot. Yeah, totally.
- 8:27He. Did a great job.
- 8:29Oh, I know that. I'm saying he did do a great
- 8:31job. Yeah, he held that.
- 8:33He held it together. Yeah, with his claws.
- 8:36With his paws. Yes, with his cute little paws.
- 8:39Yeah, yeah. Yeah, what are you?
- 8:43What? What's your history with this
- 8:44movie? Well, it's funny because when I
- 8:47pitched it, I was like, Oh, yeah, this is like a beloved
- 8:52movie that was critically lauded.
- 8:57This was my memory. I mean, I was five years old.
- 8:59I had no sense of, like, what makes a good movie.
- 9:03I was just like. You were 5.
- 9:05Yeah, I was like, he stood on a van and surfed and he was a
- 9:09badass wolf basketball player. Like, this was a critical smash.
- 9:14Of course. Yes.
- 9:15How? Could it not be?
- 9:16How could it not be? And it was.
- 9:17So I remember it was like the epitome of cool when I was 5.
- 9:23So I went to see this in the theater when I I mean, I must
- 9:26have been in kindergarten. Yeah.
- 9:28And it really like among my friend group, it like, this was
- 9:33the coolest thing you could imagine.
- 9:35Right. So I was truly shocked because
- 9:38I'm a Rotten Tomatoes obsessive. Like whenever we're going to go
- 9:42see a movie, I Jack hates it. I look at the Rotten Tomatoes
- 9:46score and I will often pull the plug on an outing if the score
- 9:50is pretty bad. Yeah.
- 9:52So I was legit shocked to see 46%.
- 9:58Yeah, and even the popcorn meter.
- 10:00I know, really low. Really low.
- 10:03But that's what was so interesting, like my love for
- 10:07this movie. And I'm kind of a I'm a little
- 10:09bit curmudgeony when it comes to movies.
- 10:12Like you hear me say, this is stupid out loud a lot while
- 10:15watching movies yes, But I. Didn't even in the movie
- 10:18theaters, Yes, Yeah. Out loud in the theater.
- 10:20It's true. Yeah.
- 10:22But somehow, I guess because I was such a little baby when this
- 10:27came out and I had such deep love for it, that nostalgia held
- 10:32on tight. So I was not probably the best
- 10:38person to be judging this film because truly, like, every sound
- 10:43in this movie was still with me. Like every scene that happened,
- 10:46I was saying this out loud constantly while we were
- 10:48watching. I was like, I remember all of
- 10:50this so much. So yeah, nostalgia really worked
- 10:57in the movie's favor for me rewatching.
- 10:59Sure. Yeah, usually.
- 11:00It usually does work in that direction I find.
- 11:03Nostalgia. It makes 1 view a movie that is
- 11:06terrible a little better, but you had that connection to it at
- 11:09an age. It was interesting though,
- 11:11because I've, I've gone back to watch other things like Weird
- 11:13Science, which I know that you talked about recently.
- 11:18Really, I, I didn't have that nostalgic fondness, but that was
- 11:23a favorite for me back in the day.
- 11:25This time when I watched it, I was cringing all the way through
- 11:27Teen Wolf. I was like, still rooting.
- 11:29Only a couple cringe really Moments, Really.
- 11:31Yeah. There were only a couple
- 11:32cringers. I, as a baby in 1985, did not
- 11:36watch this movie in a theater. No.
- 11:37Right away, no as probably yes. I think I was three months old.
- 11:42So my introduction was like on it must have played on cable TV
- 11:48at some point in like the 90s when I was growing up.
- 11:51So I definitely didn't have like the contemporaneous, like it's
- 11:55out in the movie theater experience.
- 11:57So. But my memory of it, because
- 12:00before we watch this again, I was like, what do I remember?
- 12:03I know that I've seen it, but what do I?
- 12:05The only memory that I had was of, yeah, a person in a wolf
- 12:09costume surfing on a van. Yeah.
- 12:10That was it, Yeah. You weren't.
- 12:12You weren't clinging to the nostalgia of this movie like the
- 12:16wolf on the top of the van, like David was.
- 12:19Yes, exactly. I was not.
- 12:22So maybe I had I, I maybe would have wished for a little bit of
- 12:26nostalgia to to support you. Yeah.
- 12:30Yeah. But it was a fun rewatch,
- 12:32though. Michael Jackson is all I have.
- 12:33Michael Jackson. Oh my God.
- 12:35Michael J Fox is always good. But that's actually, this is the
- 12:38thought that I had. This was right after Michael
- 12:40Jackson did Thriller like a few years, right?
- 12:43So I think there was like a zeitgeisty werewolf moment in
- 12:47the mid 80s. You could tell that they
- 12:49couldn't afford that song, but they wanted to when they're at
- 12:52the dance. They're they do it like this.
- 12:54Yeah. But they're like doing it just
- 12:57enough that you know that that's what they're doing, but not so
- 13:00much that it could get litigious.
- 13:02Yes. You know.
- 13:03So true. Yeah, that's exactly what I
- 13:04realized while watching that scene, which is why I quickly
- 13:06Googled when did you know when the thriller out.
- 13:10So, yeah, I think that that, I mean, what if that was the seed
- 13:14of the movie because that was such a such a popular thing, you
- 13:19know, during the that time of the 80s.
- 13:21I mean the whole plot of the movie.
- 13:23I don't know if Rod Daniel has kids, but I feel like maybe his
- 13:26children were talking to him at breakfast and they said dad.
- 13:32Wouldn't it be cool if instead of the werewolf killing a bunch
- 13:36of people, the werewolf was just an amazing basketball and Rod
- 13:42Daniel was like, we're gonna, we're gonna do that.
- 13:45Now that's a PG movie. That is a family PG.
- 13:48Movie The only. Way you can do werewolf in PG
- 13:50form. Right, right, right.
- 13:52If Rod Daniel was the writer, director.
- 13:54I believe he was also the writer.
- 13:56He was definitely the director. He was like a sitcom guy, right?
- 14:02Like, not a lot of. Maybe, but he went on to produce
- 14:05other very mediocre movies that also did well in the box office.
- 14:09Like this seems to be his thing. This movie was made with
- 14:13basically nothing, right And made so much money it did, yeah,
- 14:17despite the critics being like. Right, it's.
- 14:21Not that good. There were enough 5 year olds to
- 14:23hold. It up, absolutely.
- 14:25If my figures are correct, I believe it was 4 million to make
- 14:28and it made like 80 million to the $50 which in the 80s was
- 14:31that's. A big that's.
- 14:32A lot of money. That was more than a lot of
- 14:34other popular movies at that time.
- 14:36Yeah. A lot of movies that you think
- 14:37of like, oh, like, I don't know, St.
- 14:41Almost Fire, that movie was so successful.
- 14:43And it's like, I think that's been more than that, yeah.
- 14:46Yeah, Michael J Fox. He's a treasure.
- 14:49He really is. That's one thing.
- 14:51OK, so I love Michael J Fox. And one thing that I feel is
- 14:55problematic about me is whenever I watch like a teen movie and
- 15:00I'm like, oh, that character is hot, that then I feel like, Oh,
- 15:05well, now I'm the creep because I'm 31 and Michael J Fox is
- 15:11basically a child. I'm like, oh, he was so he was
- 15:13so cute. He was so hot.
- 15:15I love. That guy hair.
- 15:16Good hair. Maze.
- 15:17Strong hairline. Yeah, I'm envious of his hair,
- 15:21Yes. The wolf or the?
- 15:24Both, really, but Michael J Fox had that great 80s swoop, you
- 15:27know. He really did.
- 15:29He really did. But it's like that's what they
- 15:31do to us when they cast like little cuties in these teen
- 15:35movies. And it's like, oh, OK, well, now
- 15:38I'm now I'm the bad guy because I think Michael J Fox in that
- 15:42teen movie is. Cute.
- 15:43That is a funny perspective. It's when that happens to me, I
- 15:46feel like I always think that person is older than me.
- 15:50Like because I was younger at the time.
- 15:52It's hard to, like, relinquish that sometimes.
- 15:54Yeah. It's like I'm, I kind of am like
- 15:56stuck in whatever age that I was when I first saw that thing, you
- 16:00know, exactly which I didn't see this till I was maybe in like
- 16:04junior high. OK, so you had seen it before
- 16:07this? I had seen it before this, but
- 16:09it had been many years since I'd seen.
- 16:12What was your like? Initial take.
- 16:14So, OK, so the recollection was, of course, the surfing on top of
- 16:18the car, mostly because my parents were like, they're gonna
- 16:22do this in this movie, but it's really dangerous and not cool,
- 16:26so don't do that. They prepared.
- 16:28You they prepared me. They were they like as you're
- 16:30watching it, they were like, don't do that, OK, Because it
- 16:33did make that look really cool and fun.
- 16:36No hand stands on the roof. No hand stands on the roof, on
- 16:39any roof, whether it's moving or stationary.
- 16:41Don't do hand stands on the roof.
- 16:42Mom. Mom.
- 16:45It's funny, watching it during that scene, I did think that I
- 16:47was like, oh, that's not safe. Yeah, no.
- 16:50And like, people die that way. Yeah.
- 16:52Yeah. Scary.
- 16:53Let's not do things. Let's not do stuff like that.
- 16:55Yeah. Just because Michael J Fox in a
- 16:57wolf suit does, it doesn't mean that we can an.
- 17:02Important lesson. An important lesson.
- 17:04But as I was watching this, I thought, okay, so it's trying to
- 17:07be a teen movie, kind of classic 80s teen movie.
- 17:11It's kind of trying to be a basketball movie and kind of
- 17:15trying to be like a supernatural movie.
- 17:17And it's not really doing that great of a job at any no.
- 17:21What's funny about the supernatural element is that,
- 17:23like, you as the viewer know that he's changing, and then
- 17:29when it is exposed to like in the middle of a basketball game
- 17:34to everyone, everyone just sort of accepts it.
- 17:38Everyone is really cool with it and there's no eventually like
- 17:42he, even though he's like looking in the mirror, he's
- 17:44like, oh, I'm freaking out when he sees his dad and his dad is
- 17:49like, hey, I'm a wolf too. It's it's like, okay, he doesn't
- 17:56really freak out or ask more questions in the way that I
- 17:59would. I would be like, well, what's
- 18:01the lore? Yeah.
- 18:02How does this happen? When did this happen?
- 18:05Dive in. Here like what is how did this
- 18:08family curse come to be right? What I just like as as an
- 18:14audience, remember, I wanted to know a lot more.
- 18:17I imagine if I was in that predicament, I would have even
- 18:20more questions. Yeah, I thought the same thing.
- 18:22Yeah. I.
- 18:23Thought also what really happened to mom then?
- 18:27Bitch, what happened to Mom? We have What happened to Mom?
- 18:31So in the movie, The mother is deceased.
- 18:34Allegedly, she's not there. She's not.
- 18:37Dad's a wolf. Where is Mom?
- 18:39It's true. We know that like.
- 18:40Gore is off screen. Yeah, which is even scarier, you
- 18:44know what I'm saying? No but honestly like they bring
- 18:47up the mom like a couple of times and they never say what
- 18:50happened to her. Yeah, and it wasn't like a
- 18:52Disney sort of like, oh, woe is me because my mom is dead.
- 18:56This propels the plot. It she was just like, not there.
- 19:00It wasn't like he was suffering in any way from it.
- 19:02Yeah, it just seemed like we couldn't afford another person
- 19:09to. Like we don't know how to
- 19:11integrate your right if dad's a werewolf.
- 19:13Yeah. What's?
- 19:14Up with mom? Yeah, totally.
- 19:17And is it just the men in their family?
- 19:20Is it not? Is was mom a werewolf?
- 19:22Did she get like, I don't know. When they do the reboot, I think
- 19:26that this will be addressed. Well, there have been multiple.
- 19:29Many reboots. Well, but I bet there's another
- 19:31one coming. There might be another there's.
- 19:33Always another Teen Wolf coming. That's another thing that's
- 19:36crazy is that this movie was not that good, but it spawned this.
- 19:42Yeah, right. Worst.
- 19:42Sequel. Yeah, another sequel, the MTV
- 19:47show. It's there was an animated show.
- 19:50There was another movie at some point.
- 19:53Yeah. Yeah, like straight to streaming
- 19:55or whatever. But.
- 19:57But yeah, I remember the MTV series being really popular
- 20:01because it was around the same time that Twilight was super
- 20:04popular. And so people were really kind
- 20:05of having a moment with teens being that.
- 20:08Was another right? That was another like, Psych,
- 20:12Yeah, werewolf moment. Yeah.
- 20:15But that moment was like, yeah, the 20 tens.
- 20:18Well, yeah, you had Twilight and you had not only just
- 20:20werewolves, but obviously vampires.
- 20:21But for whatever reason, like we went from the 80s where you had
- 20:24this moment and then 90s, what happened?
- 20:26No 90s werewolf. Yeah, where were the werewolves?
- 20:29I. Mean came back or the 2. 1000
- 20:31takes a generation. Yeah, yeah, totally.
- 20:33Skip's. Skip's a generation.
- 20:35Like the dad was hoping for the kid because he's like, why
- 20:38didn't you tell me Scott's like, dad, why didn't you tell me this
- 20:40is going to happen? He's like, well, usually Skip's
- 20:42generation. I thought maybe you wouldn't get
- 20:43it. The dad was I must say, I really
- 20:47liked the dad because he was he knew that the movie was camp and
- 20:53was acting like in that way, whereas a lot of the other I
- 20:56felt like, well, Michael Michael J Fox was great, but everyone
- 20:59else like they were kind of like the dad like pushed it over the
- 21:02edge into like I'm being a funny actor and that but like deadpan.
- 21:06The dad was great. The.
- 21:07Dad the his deadpan when he like when he opens the door and he's
- 21:11just like looking like a wolf. Yeah, and his, he was a cute
- 21:14wolf. I know.
- 21:15He was a very adorable. He was adorable.
- 21:17He had the dad cut. Yeah, he.
- 21:19Had the dad. Wolf chubby cheeks.
- 21:21Yeah, very innocuous. Totally.
- 21:23Yeah. Looked like a wolf that you'd
- 21:24want a pet. Kind of looked like, kind of
- 21:26looked like a dog really. Yeah.
- 21:28Kind of more of a kind of more of a domesticated dog.
- 21:31Yeah. You know, that has been evolved
- 21:33to look cute, you know, OK, let's talk about some of the
- 21:38things that didn't age well. Is that OK if we go ahead and
- 21:40do? That Oh yeah.
- 21:41All right, let's talk about the fat kid.
- 21:43Oh chub scene 1. Chub scene 1.
- 21:46Fat shaming scene 1. Yeah, that fat kid has a great
- 21:48arm. That's the first one of the
- 21:50first lines, yeah. You're right, right?
- 21:52And then they're like, Oh yeah, Chub.
- 21:54First of all, his name's Chub, called Chub, let's say.
- 21:57That yeah, let's be direct about it.
- 21:59Yeah, and they're he's like eating snacks and they're like
- 22:02thought you were supposed to be on a diet chub.
- 22:04You know, a lot of sorry audience.
- 22:09We have a little bit construction kind of sounds like
- 22:12a big old fart. It's.
- 22:16The ghost of Jeb. It is, yes.
- 22:19And I looked up that actor. I know.
- 22:21He looked familiar, Vague. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 22:24Really. Not I I was like, I don't know
- 22:26where I've seen him. Yeah.
- 22:28What did? I don't now.
- 22:29I don't even remember. It was like that insignificant.
- 22:31I looked it up like a week. Ago definitely, maybe he was one
- 22:34of those 80s movies actors that was in like a lot of 80s movies
- 22:39because he looked vaguely familiar.
- 22:40But yeah, couldn't remember specifically where he was in.
- 22:43But yeah, that I, I talk about aging well or not.
- 22:47Like that was my first thought because you have the first
- 22:49scene, fat shaming and then the second scene is basically, well,
- 22:53first thing there's a fat joke and then the second scene
- 22:55there's fat shaming. Yeah, he's like at the locker
- 22:56and he's pulling out his food and making him feel bad for poor
- 22:59chub poor. Chub, poor chub.
- 23:01I know. Seriously, it's like just let
- 23:03the kid play basketball. What's and that's like also, I I
- 23:07think that's so classic 80s to be like, all right, here's a
- 23:11shorthand for this team sucks at basketball is like they have a
- 23:14fat kid. You know what I mean?
- 23:16They're sort of like, look at this group of freaks.
- 23:18They can't be good at basketball, and they were.
- 23:20One of them is fat. Yes, yeah.
- 23:22And they what? The team name was the Beavers,
- 23:24right? Yeah, they were the Beavers.
- 23:26Not very scary. Not like wolves.
- 23:29They weren't the wolves, I'll tell you that.
- 23:32Can we talk about how Scott's best friend's name is Boof?
- 23:36Love. Oh yeah, Boof Boof is a girl.
- 23:39Did Boof mean what it means now? I know.
- 23:43Yeah, I sure hope so. I hope so too.
- 23:48That's a question. I mean, I I assumed no, I
- 23:51assumed they wouldn't have named her Boof.
- 23:53Maybe that's how it started. Maybe they were like.
- 23:56She's the origin. Yeah, maybe.
- 23:59Maybe that's what they were doing in that she.
- 24:00Got wild in that closet. She did.
- 24:02Not only was her name Boof, they made Michael J Fox say boof so
- 24:06many times. Every line that he delivered to
- 24:08her, he had to end it with Boof. Yeah.
- 24:11It was so jarring every time. I loved it.
- 24:14And why was she hanging out with Scott's dad without him?
- 24:18They were playing. They were.
- 24:19Literally just playing basketball.
- 24:20It's not like she was waiting for Scott to come home.
- 24:22She's like, Oh yeah, we're just playing a game of pick up.
- 24:25Like I came over to hang out with your dad.
- 24:29That's true. Why is that?
- 24:30That's. True, I read that there was a
- 24:33writers Guild strike during the filming of this movie and that
- 24:37they had to like do some stuff on the fly, so I feel like that
- 24:41is probably a prime example. That would be like, we're just
- 24:44gonna make them like basketball is a is an element of the plot.
- 24:48Let's just throw these two characters together and make
- 24:50them play basketball. But she wanted, she wanted him
- 24:53to walk her home. Yeah.
- 24:54And to have a serious talk about the future.
- 24:56Boof Boof was like what? It was like an unrequited love
- 24:59thing, right? Cuz she.
- 25:01But she was pretty casual about that.
- 25:03Unrequited love, yeah. Totally.
- 25:05It was like she was very open about it.
- 25:07And he was kind of like, yeah, whatever.
- 25:10But he wasn't like, he wasn't like, oh, you're just my friend,
- 25:14I don't wanna kiss you. It was just like, yeah, I'll
- 25:16kiss you. But I like that little girl
- 25:18more. Yeah, yeah.
- 25:19Yeah, and she was kind of like, oh shucks.
- 25:22Oh well, right. Very well meaning boof.
- 25:26Yeah. Oh, good old boof.
- 25:27Boof. I like nickname comes around.
- 25:31Yeah. Yeah.
- 25:34I wonder what it was a nickname for.
- 25:36I just want I will log this I. You right, right too.
- 25:39Maybe it maybe it was a given name, we don't know.
- 25:42We font short for Buffon. I don't know.
- 25:47She wasn't really delivering if that was, yeah.
- 25:51Yeah. Great, Bob, Great.
- 25:53Bob. She had a good 80s Bob.
- 25:54She did. She had a good Bob.
- 25:56Good Bob, the other girl, the antagonist.
- 26:01Really. The like Pamela, Pamela.
- 26:04Pamela. Pamela, Pamela.
- 26:07Plantation. Is that a?
- 26:08Plantation. Yeah, girl, that was crazy.
- 26:11The school play is some somehow like there's some Confederate
- 26:16elements too. It's an antebellum it yeah, it
- 26:19feels a little a little racist. Y.
- 26:23It does the there's also, I only saw one other black student and
- 26:27it was when Scott's best friend was like, hey, I'm, I'm raising
- 26:31some cash for our school's Afro American Fest.
- 26:34Yes, because he's trying to scam everybody.
- 26:37I was like, all right, well, there was that.
- 26:39There was that one, there was actually one other that because
- 26:42there was a very short scene where they were walking through
- 26:44the hallway and someone was, I don't know if it was Styles.
- 26:47Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Scott There was dancing.
- 26:49He goes up just to a kid, he break dances and then of course,
- 26:53of course when he moves out of my using that case.
- 26:58The only black student is the 1. He is the.
- 27:00One you guys talk to, he's like, oh hello my dude, let me do
- 27:05some. Let me greet you.
- 27:08And granted, let's just remind everyone, this is a basketball
- 27:12movie, right? And there was not one.
- 27:14There may have been. Was there one single black, one
- 27:17black player on the team? Maybe.
- 27:19I only saw, not. On their team, I don't, yeah.
- 27:21I only see one behind I only there was maybe.
- 27:26One, but you know what's funny is that Bill Simmons, he said
- 27:30that he really liked this movie because he felt like it captured
- 27:33the impact of like 1 superstar player, kind of like
- 27:37monopolizing the team and like how that impacts the team when
- 27:40you have like one really good player.
- 27:42He's, he compared it to like Kobe Bryant.
- 27:44He was like, it's sort of the the evolution that you go
- 27:48through as a really good player if you're a standout player,
- 27:50like learning to play with your team and like be a good team
- 27:54player. And I thought that's really
- 27:56interesting that you got that from this, but.
- 27:59Right, right, right, I can. Kind of see it, sure.
- 28:02Basketball is a sport that lends itself to that as well, more
- 28:05than I think other sports like the superstar thing.
- 28:07So I could see that. I mean, I do like the element
- 28:10having been into like I wasn't playing the sports in high
- 28:13school and college, but I was a fan.
- 28:15Yeah, there is the element of school pride.
- 28:18And you know, when you go, when you have this ragtag bunch and
- 28:21then which is definitely like a movie trope, but then they they
- 28:25get it's not like this team ended up winning any
- 28:27championships or anything. We didn't really go that far,
- 28:30did they? Even they.
- 28:31Won the game, They won the. It's kind of vaguely described.
- 28:35As like the championship it is the.
- 28:36OK, that's funny. I didn't even register that.
- 28:39I thought it was like, we finally won one, guys.
- 28:41Yeah, but yeah, I like that. The idea about sports, team
- 28:47sports, just lifting us all up. It's a good theme.
- 28:49Yeah, totally. The fact that he played as
- 28:51himself, not as the. Moment.
- 28:54Big moment for him, big growth moment.
- 28:57Humility in sport, we love to see that we do.
- 29:01Yeah. But but it is so funny because
- 29:04canonically I don't see really any connection between being a
- 29:09werewolf and playing good basketball.
- 29:10And that is why I agree with you that it makes sense that this
- 29:15movie came about from like a child sitting at a breakfast
- 29:18table saying wouldn't it be cool if werewolves played basketball
- 29:21it. Made so much sense to me as a
- 29:23kid. Yeah, totally.
- 29:24You're like, well, of course that's why he's good at
- 29:27basketball. He's a werewolf.
- 29:29Right, Yeah, yeah, cuz really, if you think about it, being a
- 29:32werewolf would make you. I think it would make the sport
- 29:35harder because you have like talents that you have to deal
- 29:38with with them. All like, you wouldn't just
- 29:40check me. I mean, let's think about what
- 29:42dogs are good at. Oftentimes running fast.
- 29:45But like a movie about track and field, No offense to runners.
- 29:49Out there. Boring.
- 29:50Yeah, yeah, he could like, he could be like a like a hurdle
- 29:55sprinter, but it's like that's, you know, what's the team
- 29:58element in that? It has to be a team sport and I
- 30:02don't know any other team sports that dogs or wolves famously
- 30:07play so. Well, there was Airbud in the
- 30:0990s, lest we forget, and that was a dog that played
- 30:12basketball. That's so true.
- 30:13And that's the only thing I remember.
- 30:15Of that blog coming back to B Ball.
- 30:16Yeah, coming back to B ball, so. Actually, I guess you're right.
- 30:19He pooped it a lot with his nose, so it was a different
- 30:22technique than totally than the Michael J Fox approach.
- 30:25Yeah. Boops and boops I was.
- 30:27Just going to say boop. Very close to boop.
- 30:34Well, I think it's funny that yeah, it was about basketball
- 30:37and there was no like, there was no ripping of flesh.
- 30:40There was no violence, there was no traditional.
- 30:43What about the closet scene? The closet.
- 30:45This is one part. To me that.
- 30:46Aged pretty bad, so boof. Boof.
- 30:52So they're playing, they're at a party.
- 30:55First of all, the fact that Scott, this dweeb was invited to
- 30:59a party, surprising to me, but whatever.
- 31:02Like that's the whole thing is that they're like he's so
- 31:04average, he's so forgettable. Nobody knows him, but somehow he
- 31:07gets an invite to this like exclusive party where people are
- 31:11playing like kissing games and whatever.
- 31:13So he and boof, they go into the closet for two minutes of
- 31:20whatever they want to do, and they're like, yeah, OK, like, so
- 31:24let's fool around. And then he turns into a wolf
- 31:27and he like, scratches her back. And that was like, I didn't like
- 31:33that because she was like, Ouch, that hurts, like, what are you
- 31:36doing? And then when she walked away,
- 31:38there was like a huge gas in her back.
- 31:41That's right. That was so.
- 31:43Yeah, it was like just a little bit of casual, like, like a
- 31:47metaphor for sexual assault. Like, I don't, I don't.
- 31:49It's never clear. Like when he turns into a wolf,
- 31:51sometimes it's like I guess he just got excited in the closet
- 31:55and that's why he changed into a wolf.
- 31:57Because sometimes it's like, I guess it's at the height of an
- 32:01emotional state is when he is, when he changes.
- 32:03But he can also make it happen. It's not just against his will.
- 32:07Yeah. Yeah, but it but it is funny
- 32:09that none of the opposing basketball team ever got clawed.
- 32:13It was just Booth. Just.
- 32:15Booth only booth. Yeah, yeah.
- 32:17Or that he didn't like, pop a hole in the basketball, you
- 32:20know? Yeah.
- 32:22Because his claws were like wolves.
- 32:25You know. They were.
- 32:26They weren't just like a regular dog.
- 32:28They were, they were. Very.
- 32:29Sometimes I forgot. Sometimes I forgot that he was a
- 32:32wolf and not just a little diggity dog.
- 32:34You know what I mean? A little cute little.
- 32:37A little cute little. I just want to pet him.
- 32:38Yeah, totally. Well, Mikey.
- 32:40What was interesting was how quickly Boof bounced back from
- 32:44that assault in the closet. Yeah, she was.
- 32:47She was ready to hang again next scene.
- 32:49Absolutely no problems, nothing to sort through.
- 32:52No. No questions.
- 32:53How did this happen to you? What's the lore?
- 32:56Yeah. Are you OK?
- 32:57Am I OK? No, she was just like, so I
- 32:59guess you're a wolf. And Pamela.
- 33:02Pamela is hot for the wolf. Oh, yeah, she says.
- 33:05I want to fuck you as a wolf, not as a human man.
- 33:10Yeah. Human boy?
- 33:12No. Teen Wolf man.
- 33:13We need you to be an animal. Does that age bad or is it just
- 33:20so like kind of classic like? Yeah, like the popular girl
- 33:25needs her. Yeah.
- 33:27She can only. Well, and she can only associate
- 33:30with those at, you know, her level.
- 33:32And once he became the werewolf, he was, like, good at
- 33:35everything. And he was like a basketball
- 33:37star. Popular.
- 33:39Yeah. I feel like that's a that's a
- 33:41trophy thing that does not age well.
- 33:43Like, if this was made now, you would never have.
- 33:46I don't think that. I mean, there are way more
- 33:48things that are worse about that don't age well.
- 33:50But yeah, it would probably be some story where, yeah, the nerd
- 33:54wins out and it's not with the popular girl, it's probably with
- 33:58Boof or. One down, yeah.
- 34:01Well, yeah. Well, yeah, isn't it?
- 34:04Yeah, they're kissing. In the last.
- 34:05I watched this movie 5 days ago. You think I'd remember more well
- 34:08so Booth, but I thought there wasn't a clear reminder.
- 34:13They're smooching in that last scene, yeah.
- 34:15That's true. It seems to me like they're
- 34:17probably getting together, but they like they were sort of
- 34:23together before. It's like they weren't, they
- 34:26were always sort of a thing, you know?
- 34:28Like it was, it was clear to me, like they've hooked up before,
- 34:32you know what I'm saying? Like before they even got into
- 34:34that closet. I'm like, this is not the first
- 34:36time they've done this. Yeah.
- 34:37I don't know if we were supposed to believe that, but that to me.
- 34:41Oh, I get. Yeah.
- 34:42It wasn't like they were totally friend zoned.
- 34:44You're right, they didn't. Yeah, there was an openness.
- 34:47But she was very cash about it, which like, honestly, that's
- 34:51great. Very progressive.
- 34:52Very progressive. Because I would.
- 34:54I would think in most teen movies of this time, the trope
- 34:58would be that she'd be like, I'm just pining after this boy who
- 35:03doesn't doesn't even know that I'm pretty because I'm not
- 35:08Pamela. Pamela.
- 35:09Of course, her name is Pamela. Pamela hot Pamela.
- 35:15And then she's like, oh, yeah, that guy is my boyfriend.
- 35:19Like, after she had already. So they presumably have sex, the
- 35:25wolf and Pamela. That's right.
- 35:28And then she's like, oh, yeah. But I he is.
- 35:29That guy is my boyfriend. Yeah.
- 35:32That was a surprise. That was a surprise to him and a
- 35:34surprise to me as well. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 35:38And the boyfriend seemed kind of like, you know, when later he
- 35:41was like, yeah, get away from my girlfriend.
- 35:43But he wasn't like you, like my girlfriend cheated on me with
- 35:47you. It was none of that.
- 35:49I think that, like maybe that maybe that wasn't really a
- 35:52concept in this movie's universe, the idea of cheating
- 35:57on once. Doesn't count if it's a wolf.
- 36:00Does it count if it's a wolf? It was funny that they they had
- 36:05that. Like from the distance he was
- 36:07howling like when it was like the camera cut away from them
- 36:11waking up and then he was just like.
- 36:13That was like the orgasm moment. What's the hell?
- 36:15Yeah, that was that. Was pretty.
- 36:17Good. Maybe it's all maybe the whole
- 36:18movie is just an allegory for like polyamory, you know, every
- 36:23because all of those relationships are kind of a
- 36:25little fluid in that like kind of grey and not like rigid like
- 36:28a lot of 80s movies that you know, had those like archetypes.
- 36:33I could really see his bestie being like kind of the leader of
- 36:38a of a toxic polycool, you know? What I'm saying Styles, Styles,
- 36:42yes, He has the charisma for it, yeah.
- 36:44Right, he just. Yeah, he's got some pimp vibes.
- 36:47Definitely because he's leaning zealin.
- 36:50Oh always, he's got some style and the merch.
- 36:53The merch that merch. Is gonna capitalize.
- 36:55Oh yeah, yeah. Honestly, that merch was sick.
- 36:58There was a, there was a, a shirt that he was wearing at
- 37:01some point that I was like, I would buy that shirt.
- 37:02A Dick, no shirt. No, it said Teen Wolf.
- 37:04Oh yeah. But it was like stylized in this
- 37:07way. That was very cool.
- 37:08I was. Impressed.
- 37:09The one that was like kind of like a light lavender color with
- 37:12like kind of just the outline of the the fur.
- 37:15Yeah, sick. It was great.
- 37:17Yeah, it was really cool. It was ahead of its time.
- 37:19It really was the merch ahead of its time.
- 37:23OK. Can we talk about the the
- 37:25Efsler? Oh yes.
- 37:28OK. The moment in the movie where he
- 37:32comes out, which there's also me as a gay person watching this,
- 37:35I'm like, OK, there's that element of the allegory of
- 37:40queer. Yeah, totally.
- 37:41You have the secret inside. And, like, you don't know, like,
- 37:43what's happening? I'm having these feelings.
- 37:45And his dad doesn't tell him for a while.
- 37:47So he's for a while struggling with it before his dad tells
- 37:50him, oh, by the way, you're a werewolf.
- 37:52Totally. So he's having a struggle with
- 37:54on his own. Yeah.
- 37:56So I did have that thought. But the moment.
- 37:59Do you remember the line when he.
- 38:01So Styles is talking to Scott, who's Michael J Fox?
- 38:05And then it's like clear that Scott has something to say.
- 38:09And then Styles says. Styles says If you tell me
- 38:14you're a fag, I don't think I can take it.
- 38:16Yes, and then? Which I kind of think, honestly,
- 38:20I think he could. I think they should kiss.
- 38:24Let's let's do that. I think he.
- 38:26I think that he would like to kiss.
- 38:28Yeah, I'll just say that Styles probably.
- 38:31I feel like he'd be open to it. He'd be open to it.
- 38:33He's like, I'd try anything once.
- 38:35Yeah, that seems to me. That's just me.
- 38:37I get those vibes as well. I get those vibes as well.
- 38:39For the reboot. For the for the next reboot,
- 38:42yes, yeah. I like the idea of a polycule
- 38:45being involved though for sure, and styles being bad of it.
- 38:48He's like, he's like made himself the leader.
- 38:50And that's kind of actually the dynamic of, you know, it's not
- 38:53that a werewolf is good at basketball and that's why the
- 38:56team isn't playing well together.
- 38:58It's because Styles is the, you know, the leader of the
- 39:02polycule, and he's not playing well with others.
- 39:04And that's. The team that we're rooting to
- 39:06really get get it together, yes, yeah, yeah.
- 39:09I cosigned this. Yeah, I love this.
- 39:11Yeah, I love this. But.
- 39:14But it was like, I I also had that thought too in the
- 39:17beginning of like, oh, is this sort of a, is this a queer
- 39:21story? He's got the secret that he's
- 39:23hiding. He has the, there's like these
- 39:25little tells that he's trying to hide, but he's also like, you
- 39:29know, he's at that age where he is sort of discovering his
- 39:33sexuality. It is sort of like, it kind of
- 39:37shows up like puberty too, but then he's like, I am a werewolf.
- 39:43My dad told me I am, but now everyone's cool with it.
- 39:47Like when he's sort of like came out and everyone was just like,
- 39:50hell yeah, dude, that's awesome. I was like, that's not what this
- 39:53is, right? It wouldn't it be great, but.
- 39:57No, that's so true. Yeah, I had that same thing.
- 39:59Because when he again, when he does like finally turn into a
- 40:02werewolf and I think only his close friends know maybe.
- 40:05And then everyone finds out of the basketball game.
- 40:07Yeah, there is everyone's just totally accepting of it.
- 40:09And it's like, oh, that's. But you're right, like if it was
- 40:13sort of queer coded than that it would have gone very different.
- 40:16Like there'd be people in the in the crowd, like, you know,
- 40:18talking to their friends. And yeah, they'd be like.
- 40:21You're a clutching their pearls. Yeah, you're a freak.
- 40:24Such an 80s thing. Well, if he'd been a shitty ball
- 40:26player, it would have gone that way, yeah.
- 40:28That's so true. Get out of here, freak.
- 40:32The free throw goes a long way. Yeah, it really does.
- 40:36Basketball, that's social currency really went a long way.
- 40:39It's true. Incredible.
- 40:41Like it truly. He walks into, he walks into
- 40:45prom and everyone stops. Everyone's like.
- 40:48He's the kid the. Wolf's here at the dance.
- 40:50The wolf is here. The wolf has arrived.
- 40:52Yeah. Does he have a different name as
- 40:54the wolf or Weezy still? Just the wolf.
- 40:56Just the. Wolf Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 40:59They didn't call him Scott when he was in wolf form.
- 41:03They called him the Wolf. There was like the way that they
- 41:05differentiated. It was like, there's Scott and
- 41:08the Wolf, not Scott as Wolf. So I thought that was kind of
- 41:12interesting too, that it was like this identity of that
- 41:14wasn't really him, but he does still learn to, like, hone this
- 41:19thing that he once felt shame about or, like, made him feel
- 41:23like a freak or he didn't know what was going on and then,
- 41:26like, you know, uses it to his advantage.
- 41:29But yeah, it's still like there's this distinction.
- 41:34Yeah, it does give him, I think his him in wolf form does I feel
- 41:38like enable him to to to gain some confidence that he's able
- 41:41to use in his human form. Yes, definitely.
- 41:44Which we see at the very end when he learns how to play
- 41:48basketball. Not in his human form.
- 41:50In his human form, which here's the thing, I don't get how he
- 41:55did that. I don't get how they won because
- 41:57he didn't play well before, so why would we believe that now he
- 42:05knows how to play as a team player.
- 42:08Yeah. Yeah, I agree.
- 42:09I thought the same thing. I'm like, OK, how did we earn
- 42:12this turn? You know, the whole plot is that
- 42:16you're a great basketball player because the wolf makes you like
- 42:18super powerful or whatever, right?
- 42:20But now. Muscle memory.
- 42:23Is that what it is I? Think so?
- 42:25Wow, it's got to be. So like he still retains the
- 42:28muscle memory from when he was a wolf?
- 42:30Maybe he just like, really, I mean, it seemed to me watching
- 42:33it, he was just like, maybe he was just never good at focusing
- 42:37before. He was like, all right, I got to
- 42:38do this. You know, everything is riding
- 42:40on me. The pressure was there.
- 42:41Right. And he got the moment and that's
- 42:43how he snapped into action. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 42:46That could be. I don't know.
- 42:49We never said the line though, that he actually, when he does,
- 42:52he says his friend says if you're going to tell me a fag, I
- 42:55don't think I can handle it. And then the line that's that
- 42:58Scott says is this is him coming out in the movie.
- 43:02He says I'm not a fag, I'm a werewolf.
- 43:06I love that. And I, and I stand by it.
- 43:09I wish I would have said that to my parents when I came out.
- 43:11I wish you had. Time and I like to have sex with
- 43:16other werewolves, right? Right.
- 43:20I think that we should, unless it already exists and I don't
- 43:23know about it, I think that we should introduce werewolf to the
- 43:25Canon of like, of like gay culture.
- 43:29Like there's otters, there's bears, there's werewolves.
- 43:32You know what I mean, 'cause it's sort of like, I don't think
- 43:34that I don't think that bear really like, captures it because
- 43:38werewolf is, I mean, even though Michael J Fox's werewolf was
- 43:43kind of more of a Yeti sort of bear.
- 43:45Sort of dog. Not so much he.
- 43:47Wasn't even he wasn't hot as a wolf, I.
- 43:52Know even in that, even in that prom suit, I I felt the tingle.
- 43:56I did. Not as a kid.
- 43:58I even felt the tingle. Really, I did not that.
- 44:01Was a hot suit his white. Suit OK you felt a tingle based
- 44:05on the fashion I guess is what and not the because his actual
- 44:09look like he's got kind of I don't know it's it's not a sex.
- 44:13They didn't take a sexy. It was not meant to be sexy.
- 44:18I, I don't think it's wolf, but nowadays, obviously it would
- 44:20have to be sexy if they made it again.
- 44:21But yeah, at the time there was no, I don't know, I didn't feel
- 44:24like it was a sexy wolf and maybe I wanted it to be a.
- 44:27Sex further iterations of Teen wolf, like the MTV one and like
- 44:31more recent depictions of the wolf are scarier.
- 44:36They're more like wolf, Wolf, you know, and not just like, you
- 44:40know, kind of a Yeti. Yeah, definitely a Yeti wolf.
- 44:44Yeah. Yeah, not there is.
- 44:47By the way, in gay culture there does exist a wolf.
- 44:49There is, yeah. How do I not know?
- 44:52This is it. Like I can't, yeah.
- 44:54You're talking about. Gays, but I'm pretty sure a wolf
- 44:56is a sexually aggressive like hairy guy.
- 44:58OK, it's like not chubby like a bear, but I some some.
- 45:02I hope someone doesn't come for me, but I'm pretty sure that's a
- 45:04little. Wolf, we're gonna find.
- 45:05Out we're gonna we're gonna have to find out.
- 45:07Yeah. But there I but to my knowledge
- 45:09there doesn't exist. A werewolf.
- 45:10A werewolf. So like that.
- 45:12Distinction. Yeah.
- 45:13We can. What's gonna make it?
- 45:15Insomnia probably, you know, yeah, really sensitive to moon
- 45:20cycles, you know, I feel like a. Gay werewolf and a gay vampire
- 45:25could probably do really well together because they both have
- 45:27to hang out at night. Yeah, totally, for the most
- 45:30part. Yeah, get those nocturnals
- 45:31together. Totally, because you know what
- 45:33everyone loves like an enemies to lovers story and it's like
- 45:37vampires and wolves, you know, sometimes they they butt heads,
- 45:41but I think that they really have more in common than they do
- 45:45different It's. It's like a classic Romeo and
- 45:47Juliet. Exactly.
- 45:48They're like they they come together across party lines and
- 45:52who knows what's possible? It's all about love at the end
- 45:54of the day. At the end of the day.
- 45:56And then they both die by their own hands, but that's a
- 45:58different story. But.
- 45:59That's a different story. Yeah.
- 46:02But yeah. OK.
- 46:03So wolves exist in gay culture. Pretty sure.
- 46:07Allegedly. Allegedly.
- 46:09We'll Fact Check later. And werewolves are simply an
- 46:13adaptation of that where they are insomniacs.
- 46:18Yeah. You know, Yeah.
- 46:20And maybe just like a little bit like maybe it's like a wolf, but
- 46:24like a little extra, you know, there's like a little elevated.
- 46:26More vocals maybe? Yeah, more hair you.
- 46:29Know a little more hair, Yeah. Or a lot more hair A.
- 46:31Lot more hair. Yeah, yeah.
- 46:33Some facial hair, some added facial hair.
- 46:35You got to put the hair on the cheeks to really make it aware.
- 46:37Of yeah, the the cheeks. On the forehead.
- 46:40And the forehead. Yes, totally.
- 46:42Totally. Yeah, I did.
- 46:45OK. You know who I loved, though,
- 46:46was the coach. The coach was such an underrated
- 46:49character. Yeah, he was so funny.
- 46:51He said one of my favorite lines, which is never get less
- 46:54than 12 hours of sleep, never play cards with a guy who has
- 46:57the first name of a city, and never go anywhere near a woman
- 46:59with a tattoo of a dagger on her body.
- 47:02They said pearls wisdom. Worlds to live, worlds to live
- 47:06by. I loved that that.
- 47:07Never, never get less than 12 hours of sleep.
- 47:10It's that line was just they kept going like there was no and
- 47:14I just loved it because it wasn't even like played for
- 47:16laughs, but I it was almost a moment where I was like, oh
- 47:19wait, I had to like think about it again.
- 47:20I was like, that is hilarious advice and advice.
- 47:23I wish I could. Don't we all?
- 47:25Don't we all? Wish we could live by, you know.
- 47:27Right. Yeah, he was funny.
- 47:29You could tell he was like, he he's not a comic that I
- 47:31recognize, but he could tell he was like, probably a comic of
- 47:34that era. Yeah, I don't remember the name
- 47:37of the actor, but yeah, he was very funny.
- 47:39That was a that was a role that was like clearly a comedic role
- 47:42as well, which I enjoyed. Yeah, totally.
- 47:44And I think, sorry, go ahead, go.
- 47:46Ahead, I think maybe also a writer's strike moment.
- 47:48Yeah, totally. He just made it up and they were
- 47:50like good enough. Yeah, Yeah.
- 47:53It did feel like he, similarly to the dad character, I think
- 47:57that he kind of, he kind of understood that this was camp.
- 48:01He kind of played at his camp. He was not totally like giving
- 48:05it his earnest, you know, acting chops.
- 48:09This is sort. Of a.
- 48:10It's a sort of a lazy. Lazy on purpose.
- 48:13On purpose. I mean, when, when, when Scott
- 48:17comes in and like he's building up and he's trying.
- 48:20He's about to tell him that he's a werewolf.
- 48:21You know, I love that The coach was like, OK, how long is this
- 48:25gonna take? All right.
- 48:26And then he could tell he's so upset and this is his player.
- 48:30But instead of being like, let's sit down, let's talk about this.
- 48:32He's like, all right, I gotta get to some admin work.
- 48:34So can this be set up here? And he's like having a buffet
- 48:38and his yeah. Right, it was constantly eating.
- 48:40Classic 80s adult where they're like, you can talk to me about
- 48:44anything, but it has to take less than two minutes because I
- 48:47have work to do. Yes.
- 48:50They're like, as long as you're not gay and it's not going to
- 48:53take more than two minutes, then, you know, moving along.
- 48:56This can't be too emotionally wrenching.
- 48:58Absolutely. But of course, talk to me about
- 49:00anything. You know, you can always come to
- 49:02me, but as long as it's convenient.
- 49:05Yeah, he was clearly such. He was just a bad coach, which
- 49:08was, you know, there's a reason why the team was bad.
- 49:10But at least that was a funny element to it.
- 49:12Totally like, you know, at least the game will be over like that
- 49:16type of thing when he's like, yeah, here, here's my my word of
- 49:20advice is it'll be over eventually.
- 49:24And you know, sometimes, sometimes I just gotta respect
- 49:27that. Yeah, sometimes you just gotta
- 49:32exist through the moment and just know that this is really
- 49:35bad. But it will be over soon, yeah.
- 49:38Which is kind of, one could say, an experience watching watching.
- 49:43The movie a guy. Very meta film, yes.
- 49:46But here's The thing is that I didn't have a horrible time
- 49:48watching it, even though the whole time I was feeling like,
- 49:50OK, yeah, this is a bad movie. I wasn't like Oh my God, I can't
- 49:54wait for this to be over it. Was like.
- 49:57Painful. It wasn't painful like I was
- 49:59having a It was fine it. Was a romp.
- 50:01Yeah, Beach Boys. Good Beach Boys can we talk
- 50:04about the music beyond The Beach Boys queue, which I loved the
- 50:08actual like soundtrack music was classic synth 80s just I mean I
- 50:13guess it's kind of back now it's.
- 50:15Super bad, but. Really dates the movie like so
- 50:18like almost like like there were some like some synth like string
- 50:23cues that were almost sitcom me. Yeah, you know, the placement of
- 50:27them. But yeah, very 80s and it
- 50:28definitely dated the movie. But I guess it is sort of like
- 50:31back now the synthesizer. Totally, Yeah.
- 50:35Yeah, yeah. I love The Beach Boys music,
- 50:37though. That was good.
- 50:38Is that what they were playing when he was surfing?
- 50:39Right. Yeah, Surfing USA.
- 50:41Surfing USA. Yeah, it's a good one.
- 50:44That's a. Bop We definitely had a sunroof
- 50:47in our car growing up and just letting us poke our heads out of
- 50:52the sunroof. As kids, we called it surfing
- 50:55because that was going to be so cute.
- 50:57Adjacent to Teen Wall. Yeah, it was a good, good day if
- 51:01our parents let us surf. In the car.
- 51:03That is so cute. I love that.
- 51:05I feel like even though objectively that is unsafe, that
- 51:08is the thing that I would do and let a child do in my car.
- 51:13Just a head poking out. Head poking out of the sun.
- 51:16Right, right, right. Don't watch 6 feet under.
- 51:17Did you ever watch 6 feet under? It always starts with the death.
- 51:20That's as far as I'm gonna go. There was a tragic incident in a
- 51:23limo with some drunk people as far as I'm gonna go, but it's
- 51:27like. I know where it's.
- 51:28Going yes, well, it's like when you watch it was a final
- 51:30destination and then you're behind a log truck and you're
- 51:32like, OK. Yeah, totally.
- 51:34You're like, I can't. Not gonna risk, not gonna risk
- 51:36it. I learned my.
- 51:36Lesson have you guys? Seen the most recent Final
- 51:39Destination? No, we did not watch.
- 51:41It I haven't watched it either, but I really want to and I
- 51:43really and I can't find anyone who wants to watch.
- 51:45It oh, I heard like that it what I think I heard mixed reviews,
- 51:48which is like better than I would.
- 51:49Which is, which is honestly for Final Destination.
- 51:52That's a good review. It's.
- 51:53The best you can ask for, really.
- 51:54Absolutely, yeah. I think you've got your
- 51:56sidekick. All right, great.
- 51:57I would watch it with you. Yes.
- 51:58Hell yeah. I mean, that movie I Yeah, that
- 52:02that's like, like everyone that was around maybe our age in the
- 52:0590s scarred me for life. Of course.
- 52:07Destination. Yeah.
- 52:08Teen Wolf, not so much. But I.
- 52:10Didn't see it. Yeah, well, really, you're a
- 52:12little older than us, it's true. Maybe you were.
- 52:14Beyond an old man, yeah. When it came out.
- 52:17Yeah, that's the one with the tanning booth too, right?
- 52:19Yeah. Don't get into it, Yeah.
- 52:22Yeah. But also, don't you know skin
- 52:25cancer as. Well, I mean, yeah, it really
- 52:27it's an allegory for skin cancer.
- 52:28It's just before we even knew it.
- 52:31Yeah. Have you reviewed Final
- 52:33Destination? With No, never done.
- 52:34It could be fun. Yeah, it could be fun.
- 52:37OK, what else do you guys want to talk about?
- 52:38What else haven't we covered? Oh geez, what else?
- 52:42What else? We got boof, we got styles, we
- 52:44got Scott Jub, Jub, coach, dad, the dad.
- 52:50The dad was my favorite. Part the The principal.
- 52:52What's that guy's name? That actor.
- 52:54Right. Yeah, he's.
- 52:55In other stuff, he's he's a comedic actor, but he, I don't
- 53:00know, he wasn't really doing it for me in this movie.
- 53:02But it was funny when Scott's dad went and stood up to him
- 53:05because the principal was like, you're gonna be kicked out of
- 53:08the school. And then the dad goes up to him
- 53:12and is like, don't do that. And then he growls at him.
- 53:15That's right. Oh, because.
- 53:17They had because they had. They had some beef from the
- 53:19beef. Yeah, so a girl liked that.
- 53:22Yeah, well, and it was the beef from the past was that the dad,
- 53:24when they were younger, he had turned into a werewolf and then,
- 53:28like, beat up the guy, Right. They ended up becoming the
- 53:30assistant principal later, Yeah. I loved that he was the vice
- 53:33principal. The vice.
- 53:35Principal. He was the vice.
- 53:36They had to kind of knock. Him down.
- 53:39You never met the actual principal, You know, we never
- 53:42met the the head honcho. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 53:44Yeah. That was also a classic 80s I
- 53:47think, you know, teen movie thing was like the the grumpy
- 53:50ornery. And then he's like always in the
- 53:52bathroom. Yeah.
- 53:54Yeah, that is weird. There was, I guess there was a
- 53:56graffiti incident, right? But you seem to always be in the
- 54:01bathroom. Yeah.
- 54:05Very odd. Yeah, that is weird.
- 54:07Why are you always hanging on the bathroom, dude?
- 54:08Yeah, this. Is weird vice principals job,
- 54:10yeah. Keep an eye on everything and
- 54:14every nook and cranny. OK, what else?
- 54:16Is there anything else that we didn't discuss today We've.
- 54:18Done. We've done a really deep dive.
- 54:20We have in a movie. Nearly as long as the film.
- 54:23It was like one hour 25. Minutes.
- 54:24It was just, it was a. Lickety, you know what?
- 54:26And I liked that about. It I love.
- 54:28That we love it. We love a short movie.
- 54:30An hour and a half is such a sweet spot for a movie.
- 54:32It's. It's like I want to be left
- 54:35wanting more. Sure.
- 54:37I don't want to walk out of a movie saying God that took so
- 54:40long. OK, I went to here's what I
- 54:43here's why long movies are bad is because the other day I went
- 54:50to this event that I thought was going to be two hours talks.
- 54:54Oh gosh, it was 4 hours long. Oh, wow.
- 54:57And I walked out and I said, God, I feel like I just walked
- 55:00out of Oppenheimer. That if if you say I oh God, I
- 55:07feel like I just walked out of and then fill in the blank
- 55:10movie. That's not good.
- 55:12That's not good. I wanna, I wanna feel like I
- 55:15just if I leave a basketball game and I go, man, I feel like
- 55:18I just walked out of Teen Wolf. That means that was
- 55:21entertaining, quick, easy to watch, not that deep.
- 55:25Yeah, it's true. And people were, you know,
- 55:29Dunkin basketball. And not really.
- 55:31About basketball. Guy was, you know, just
- 55:34absolutely sinking those shots. And also, it wasn't really about
- 55:39basketball. Yeah, yeah, about it.
- 55:42Wasn't about good basketball. You.
- 55:43Know right? Exactly.
- 55:45Exactly. Oh, that's an interesting take.
- 55:47Yeah, I like that. I would love to walk out of a
- 55:49basketball game and think that's like, that was like Teen Wolf.
- 55:53Yeah, that would be a good thing.
- 55:55You're right. Yeah.
- 55:56I mean, I think longer movies can work.
- 55:58I did like Oppenheimer more than I think David did.
- 56:01But yeah, it's like it's about expectations, too.
- 56:04You went into that party thinking it was going to be two
- 56:07hours exactly. And that's what you're
- 56:08expecting. And then it wasn't.
- 56:09So it's like when we watched the Brutalists and we sat down.
- 56:12We're like, OK, oh, God. All right, we know we got a
- 56:14strap in. But they had an intermission
- 56:16they. Had.
- 56:18The intermission, which was not only perfect for snack break,
- 56:23potty break, all of that, a little room to breathe, but it
- 56:26was like 2 distinct acts as well.
- 56:29And that is the perfect way to do a long movie.
- 56:31All watch a long movie if it's a 2 parter and there's an
- 56:34intermission. Sure.
- 56:36I thought it worked like plot wise and it worked for my
- 56:40lifestyle which is I need to be able to get up and walk around.
- 56:43Yeah, yeah. It's like I will spend 6 hours
- 56:46watching a premiere drama, of course, but a three hour movie?
- 56:50Nope. No, but there is something about
- 56:52the break and and you like you said in the brutal specifically
- 56:55there was a break but there was also the tone shift and it was
- 56:57like a whole different narrative element.
- 57:00Totally. Yeah.
- 57:00Whereas if you're sitting down, just slogging through an epic
- 57:04movie. Oh my gosh, The other day I went
- 57:07to the Grateful Dead movie. It was playing at Alamo
- 57:10Drafthouse and they had built into the movie an intermission.
- 57:16But when they played the movie at the theater, they like blew
- 57:19through the intermission. And that was tough for me
- 57:22because I'm like, not a huge Grateful Dead fan.
- 57:25I'm not anti, but I went with my friend who's really into it
- 57:28because I was like, I want to see your culture, right?
- 57:33I may not agree with your life. Lifestyle.
- 57:35Choice, but I just want to go and.
- 57:36But I just want to be a part of it.
- 57:38I want to feel a part of it. I want to explore, I want to be
- 57:40open minded. So I went and, and I was like,
- 57:43Oh my God, an intermission. Thank God.
- 57:46I can like get up, go to the bathroom, like walk around.
- 57:49This is, you know, we've been listening to the same song for
- 57:51like 45 minutes. And then they just like kept on
- 57:55going. But then she, but then they
- 57:57started this one song and she goes, they're going to be
- 57:59playing this one for like 30 minutes.
- 58:00You could, this is a good time for you to like go and get up
- 58:02and go to the bathroom. I was like, God bless.
- 58:04That's you need, yeah, you need someone on the inside.
- 58:08If there's actually there's this website that where you can go
- 58:12where they have time stamps of when you can go pee during a
- 58:17movie. I think it's called when, When
- 58:19should when can I pee or when should I pee or something like
- 58:21that. It's very generous of whoever
- 58:23put. That it's a great.
- 58:24Service. Yeah, and it'll be like the time
- 58:27stamp, but then it'll also say, like after this one scene, this
- 58:31is what's happening. And then right after that is
- 58:33when you can, you can take a break, go to the.
- 58:35Bathroom. I would be interested to be a
- 58:37filmmaker and then go in there and see when they said.
- 58:41When they said this part doesn't.
- 58:42Matter and then you're like, and then they're probably like,
- 58:44okay, I kind of knew that was gonna be, but we need it for the
- 58:46pace, right? Exactly.
- 58:48It's like, I wonder what they thought when, well, like when
- 58:52they were making Rocky Horror, there's like that whole, there's
- 58:55like that whole part where they're like, this part is
- 58:57boring. And so then everyone just like
- 58:58does a Congo line. I wonder if they expected that
- 59:01would happen, that everyone's just going to get up and do a
- 59:03Congo line because they're like, this part's boring.
- 59:07Yeah, a Congo line always makes things more exciting.
- 59:09Absolutely, yeah. You're at a wedding, it's all
- 59:12dull and then on the line. Did you check Teen Wolf when the
- 59:16bathroom breaks are scheduled? No, Oh my God, I really should.
- 59:19I should look that up. Let's do it in real time.
- 59:21Let's see what's going on. OK, so.
- 59:22I feel like there might be a lot of options.
- 59:25Maybe one of them would be when? Oh, it's called run p.com.
- 59:33Oh, that's good. OK, let's.
- 59:34See teen? I'm trying to think of when it
- 59:38would be, but obviously I don't have the greatest memory.
- 59:43I feel like it's going to be basketball with Boof and Dad.
- 59:47Maybe that. Maybe the reminiscing scene when
- 59:49Boof and Scott are walking down the sidewalk.
- 59:52And. Pretend they're having that very
- 59:54forced, cherished memory. Right.
- 1:00:00Maybe and maybe someone who's like PC would say to skip out on
- 1:00:04the chub scene. They do, they would say, just
- 1:00:08right from the beginning. You can.
- 1:00:09You would actually just start. You can actually just start it
- 1:00:13at the 10 minute. Mark Yes, exactly.
- 1:00:15The whole thing is he's not good at basketball and he's really
- 1:00:18sweaty. It was funny.
- 1:00:20I like didn't at first because I'm an idiot.
- 1:00:22I didn't put together that like, oh, he's sweating because he's
- 1:00:25like turning into a wolf. I was just like God, they made
- 1:00:27him so sweat. Thick.
- 1:00:30I guess thick sweat. Yeah, like just, he's just
- 1:00:33drenched, like, just sweat like. And it was like him more than
- 1:00:39everyone else. And I was like, why are they
- 1:00:41doing that? Why is he so sweaty compared to
- 1:00:44everyone? Else I don't think I have I
- 1:00:45connected that either actually. Really.
- 1:00:47OK, Well then I'm so sorry that I said because I'm an idiot
- 1:00:50because I don't think you are. And so maybe this is one of
- 1:00:53those movement like those moments where it's like, well,
- 1:00:55don't say something mean about yourself that you wouldn't say
- 1:00:58to a friend you. Know that's right.
- 1:00:59So this is a learning. Moment.
- 1:01:00This is a learning moment. OK, so run P Let's see, I had to
- 1:01:06download an app. God.
- 1:01:08No, it's not even on there. It's not on there.
- 1:01:11Because the entire movie. Too old or?
- 1:01:14No, I. Think it's too good?
- 1:01:16Too, probably too good. There's nothing to nothing that
- 1:01:20you can miss every moment. Wow is.
- 1:01:23Yeah, well. If if anyone wants to watch Teen
- 1:01:26Wolf, I would say don't skip them.
- 1:01:29The scenes with the I think the dad was the best part about the
- 1:01:32movie. Oh yeah, I just loved.
- 1:01:33He was just so funny. Yeah, but there's a lot of a lot
- 1:01:38of scenes that you could skip and still get the point.
- 1:01:41Yeah, poor boof. Poor boof.
- 1:01:44Boof with the BOP. Yep.
- 1:01:46Boof with the bop. That 80s Bob classic.
- 1:01:49Yeah. David, any final thoughts?
- 1:01:52I don't think so. I think we've done great.
- 1:01:53Yeah, I think we've done great. Do you think, do you think that
- 1:01:56it aged well? See, this is where I'm not gonna
- 1:01:59be a good person to weigh in because for me, it did.
- 1:02:01It did age well just because of the nostalgia.
- 1:02:03Yeah, Exactly. Exactly.
- 1:02:05Yeah. And I think, you know, for me,
- 1:02:08as a purveyor of nostalgia, it's great to see that sometimes
- 1:02:12that's all you need. It's just some good nostalgia.
- 1:02:14Yeah. So true.
- 1:02:15We'll carry the whole thing. Yeah.
- 1:02:17Yeah. Yeah, I mean, well, yes,
- 1:02:20sometimes I think it can't overcome things that are
- 1:02:23blatantly, you know, racist or homophobic.
- 1:02:26And even there, there was like a dash of of there was nothing to
- 1:02:30like agree with. We can deal with a dash of
- 1:02:32homophobia. Just a dash they.
- 1:02:34Were they only use a slur twice like it's the 80s.
- 1:02:39The 80s, you got to meet them where they're at.
- 1:02:41I mean, if my I don't have the massage, just so my sort of
- 1:02:45thesis would be it aged okay, I'd say yeah.
- 1:02:51The fat shaming and the use of the word fag.
- 1:02:54Although I will say in the scene, it didn't seem like a
- 1:02:58derogatory term. It seemed like they were, you
- 1:03:01know it. Seemed like the way that Scott
- 1:03:04was using it was more just like descriptive.
- 1:03:07Yes, the way that styles is using it was.
- 1:03:10A little bit. Was there was a there was a
- 1:03:13connotate, a negative connotation.
- 1:03:15That's true. He didn't say I couldn't handle
- 1:03:17it. That's true.
- 1:03:18You know what I mean? That's true.
- 1:03:19But he was just like, no, that's not what's happening.
- 1:03:21I'm a werewolf. Yeah, like him saying I'm not a
- 1:03:23fag, I'm a werewolf, which was probably meant to be funny, like
- 1:03:27on paper, but, you know, he didn't really play it as funny
- 1:03:30in the in the way he he delivered the line.
- 1:03:33But yeah, it came across as like, dude, I'm not gay, I'm a
- 1:03:36werewolf. So it didn't feel derogatory in
- 1:03:38that sense. Yeah.
- 1:03:39Yeah. But besides like a little bit of
- 1:03:40fat shaming and just a dash of homophobia.
- 1:03:43Yeah. It aged OK.
- 1:03:45And the music, the music for me dated a bit because it was so
- 1:03:48synthy and so like mid 80s like classic, like synth string.
- 1:03:52But I think other than that it aged OK.
- 1:03:56I would say it aged OK. I would say the same.
- 1:03:58I think it aged OK, it aged like good enough.
- 1:04:02It would still I think like am I going to show 6?
- 1:04:07Percent. Still 46% like when it comes to
- 1:04:11like the movies. I want to show my niece this.
- 1:04:13Is not one of them. Sure.
- 1:04:15And if she says I really want to watch Teen Wolf, I'd be like,
- 1:04:18OK, there's a couple things we should talk about first.
- 1:04:20Yeah, don't, don't surf on cars. Sunroof is OK, but we'll talk
- 1:04:26about that later when your mom's not here.
- 1:04:28And, you know, there's a couple couple things that we don't
- 1:04:32really love. But overall, it's just not that
- 1:04:35good of a movie. So.
- 1:04:37So it's not really worth your. Time.
- 1:04:38So it's not really worth your time, but I don't know, maybe,
- 1:04:42maybe if someone had never heard of Michael J Fox and Back to the
- 1:04:48Future was unavailable. This is like, this is the side B
- 1:04:54of the Michael J Fox. Yeah, you got to.
- 1:04:55Turn it over. If there was an apocalypse and a
- 1:04:59VCR and this was the only tape, we'd play it.
- 1:05:03We'd play it, I'd watch it. I'd watch it regularly.
- 1:05:06You know, I went. I would be OK with that.
- 1:05:08Yeah, Yeah. Yeah, a lot of a lot of
- 1:05:10qualifiers there. But yeah, I agree with, I agree
- 1:05:13with all that we were talking about just with some friends and
- 1:05:17I said the same thing. I was like, I wouldn't, I was
- 1:05:19like I told them I was like, y'all don't need to watch it
- 1:05:21Like it's not, you know, there's I wouldn't recommend.
- 1:05:24I'm sorry this is hurting your heart.
- 1:05:27But also, if someone was like, I want to watch Teen Wolf, I
- 1:05:29wouldn't be like, don't do it. You know what I mean?
- 1:05:32The way that like with other movies that I've talked about on
- 1:05:34this podcast, people like, oh, I really want to rewatch that.
- 1:05:36And I'm like, you don't want to actually.
- 1:05:38It wouldn't be like that. I'd just be like, yeah, OK.
- 1:05:40What's an example of a movie? Like 16 candles.
- 1:05:43Oh, it's. People are like, oh, but I love
- 1:05:46that movie and I'm like, you're not going to love it when you.
- 1:05:48Yeah, post post me too. Just yeah.
- 1:05:52It's a test 1 even. Even Molly Ringwald, I've heard
- 1:05:54is. Right.
- 1:05:55I'm sure that stuff for her to go.
- 1:05:57For her to to her to watch, yeah.
- 1:05:59But I do hope somewhere someone is thinking about naming their
- 1:06:04child Boof. Boof.
- 1:06:06I hope so too. And if you're the kind of person
- 1:06:08who's like, I don't have a nickname, I want one, and you
- 1:06:12give it to yourself, especially if you if you enjoy boofing.
- 1:06:17Great, great option. On the nose.
- 1:06:19Perfect option. It doesn't.
- 1:06:21I mean, there you go, It's right there.
- 1:06:24It's literally right there if that's an activity that you
- 1:06:26enjoy or if it's ironic too. If you're like really straight
- 1:06:30edge and you're like, I would never Booth could be a really
- 1:06:33funny nickname. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:06:36If I was a stand up comic, I feel like I would want to
- 1:06:39somehow incorporate the word booth into my set because it's
- 1:06:43so funny. Just the word it found out.
- 1:06:45It's fun to say. And then the fact that that was
- 1:06:47the name of, like, a pretty girl.
- 1:06:50Yeah. Yeah, which I don't think we've
- 1:06:52said yet. She was.
- 1:06:52Yeah, well, we said she had a Bob, but yeah, she was a pretty.
- 1:06:55Girl. Yeah, she was.
- 1:06:56She was. Gorgeous.
- 1:06:57What a weird, what a weird, What a weird choice when we love.
- 1:07:01And we and we love them for that.
- 1:07:03Well, you guys, thank you so much for coming on the show.
- 1:07:05A joy is. Her happy.
- 1:07:06It was a joy and a pleasure to have you.
- 1:07:09I think that we should all collectively and with a howl.
- 1:07:13Oh. We do this with our doggies
- 1:07:15here. I wish you I we do.
- 1:07:17She's a good howlers here. She's got a gorgeous boy.
- 1:07:20She's honestly, she has a great voice.
- 1:07:22But we will. We will try our best in her
- 1:07:25stead. In her honor.
