- 1:04Speaker 1: so great to be everybody. It'd be very nice. Um.
- 1:08Speaker 1: So I was false positive? Really? Oh you didn't even
- 1:13Speaker 1: have it? You sound upset? About that. Well, no, I'm
- 1:16Speaker 1: not upset about it. I was really geeked. I'm not
- 1:18Speaker 1: gonna lie man. I thought it was gonna be easy
- 1:20Speaker 1: COVID because I had no symptoms. Oh, you were excited
- 1:23Speaker 1: to get high and play video games and you didn't
- 1:24Speaker 1: get your chance. That all went out the window. Yeah,
- 1:30Speaker 1: remember how we were so geeked about that, guys? Yeah,
- 1:33Speaker 1: I was kind of like, it's funny. In this episode,
- 1:34Speaker 1: there's a whole plot line where Jordan is bed bedridden.
- 1:38Speaker 1: Is that the term? Yeah? Yeah yeah. And because of
- 1:41Speaker 1: her pregnancy, she has to be stay in bed and
- 1:45Speaker 1: and and Cox has to take care of her. You
- 1:46Speaker 1: were kind of stoked for the I get to um
- 1:50Speaker 1: lie in bed and play video games in case he
- 1:52Speaker 1: has to take care of me. And you didn't get
- 1:53Speaker 1: you Well, she couldn't take care of me, but I
- 1:56Speaker 1: get to lie in bed, play video games, smoker shit
- 2:00Speaker 1: kind of weed like. I had no symptoms, man, Like,
- 2:02Speaker 1: I was like, this is gonna be fucking Did you
- 2:04Speaker 1: have the did you have the animal face all lined
- 2:07Speaker 1: up ready to go? Dude? I was ready. I had
- 2:10Speaker 1: I cleaned both bonds, ready to go. I rolled some
- 2:16Speaker 1: Jay's and everything. Man, that was so funny. I smoke
- 2:19Speaker 1: a lot of weeds. I smoke a lot of me
- 2:22Speaker 1: covid by cleaning his bongs. Yeah, man, I listen. I
- 2:27Speaker 1: didn't listen. I smoke a lot of weed. It's very clear.
- 2:31Speaker 1: Those who know me know this. My wife thinks it's
- 2:33Speaker 1: a problem. My best friend thinks it's a problem. Yeah,
- 2:36Speaker 1: I said he needs rehab. Right. You said you were
- 2:39Speaker 1: quitting the other day. How did that work out? But
- 2:48Speaker 1: I just think it's bullshit, Like I have no I listen.
- 2:50Speaker 1: I used to smoke weed. I don't really smoke that
- 2:53Speaker 1: much anymore. But I just think it's bullshit that people
- 2:56Speaker 1: say it's not addictive. I know it's not. Physical is
- 2:59Speaker 1: completely addictive. Donald is addicted. Another very I am not addictive.
- 3:07Speaker 1: I just got a really strong habit. Whatever you want
- 3:10Speaker 1: to say, weed is addicting addictive? Um, yes it is.
- 3:16Speaker 1: I mean to each their own, but don't say it's
- 3:18Speaker 1: not addictive. You know what I find myself? Do you know?
- 3:22Speaker 1: Here's a fucked up shit. This is the fucked up
- 3:23Speaker 1: shit about weed, and all you people out thinking about
- 3:26Speaker 1: go stop bashing weed. You know what, I just smoke
- 3:30Speaker 1: something so I can do it right now. Look, that
- 3:35Speaker 1: shit really does make you be like, damn, man, I'm
- 3:39Speaker 1: not gonna smoke no more. That's it. I'm done, done,
- 3:43Speaker 1: I'm done. And then you'll be like, you know what
- 3:46Speaker 1: after this next bong hit one more? I just just
- 3:55Speaker 1: one one more? Yeah, your white's not that into your
- 3:58Speaker 1: weed habit. I've watch not that into me right now
- 4:02Speaker 1: because of my weed habit, dude, like it is, it
- 4:05Speaker 1: has amplified to the level where I am fucking on
- 4:09Speaker 1: that Snoop. Look, man, I get it, Snoop Dog, I
- 4:12Speaker 1: get it. Seth Rogan, I get it. You know what
- 4:15Speaker 1: I mean. I get it, Dude, I get it. There's
- 4:18Speaker 1: nothing like being able to sit at home all right.
- 4:21Speaker 1: So right now I don't have a lot of shit
- 4:23Speaker 1: to do, like I'm in that there's that little bit
- 4:25Speaker 1: of period where I have worked. I'm working a lot,
- 4:28Speaker 1: you know what I mean, But it's it's sporadic, you
- 4:31Speaker 1: know what I mean. So it's a day here, a
- 4:33Speaker 1: day there, you know what I mean. We do the
- 4:36Speaker 1: podcast and everything like that. So I got a shit
- 4:38Speaker 1: ton of time on my hands, right and it's it's
- 4:41Speaker 1: kind of fucking cool to be able to smoke weed
- 4:44Speaker 1: play video games while the kids are at school, they
- 4:47Speaker 1: get out of school and then play. You know, it
- 4:49Speaker 1: didn't take the kid to basketball practice or and then
- 4:52Speaker 1: be a daddy. That's kind of fun to do right now,
- 4:54Speaker 1: you know what I mean. But it can't last. And
- 5:00Speaker 1: I know that this the withdrawal from the amount of
- 5:04Speaker 1: weed that I'm smoking right now. You got off like anything. Man,
- 5:07Speaker 1: you gotta just set yourself a time, like I'm not
- 5:11Speaker 1: gonna smoke until after this time. Um, you can't. I mean, yeah,
- 5:16Speaker 1: I think that's the beauty of working. Working makes it
- 5:19Speaker 1: so because I've become such a you know, I'm way
- 5:23Speaker 1: more into seeing what I can do on camera now
- 5:28Speaker 1: than I than I was before, right, Like that's an
- 5:31Speaker 1: adventure now, Whereas before it was like, let's you know,
- 5:34Speaker 1: I want to I want to be on camera because
- 5:36Speaker 1: I want to be a star or whatever the shit is.
- 5:38Speaker 1: But like now it's like, you know, I'm way more
- 5:42Speaker 1: interested in figuring out what I can do on camera.
- 5:44Speaker 1: So because of that, I feel like I need to
- 5:45Speaker 1: be sober to do it. And so when I work,
- 5:48Speaker 1: I am so sober. When I'm not working, maybe it's depression.
- 5:52Speaker 1: But you also said you were going to join me
- 5:54Speaker 1: on this health kick because I'm back on the peloton.
- 5:57Speaker 1: I want a health kick. And it's good to have
- 6:00Speaker 1: a partner. It's good to have a partner. You can
- 6:01Speaker 1: be like, but you don't want to work out with me,
- 6:04Speaker 1: I don't want to work out with you. But I'm
- 6:05Speaker 1: saying like, it's good to have it. It's always good
- 6:08Speaker 1: when you're exercising or getting in shape or losing weight
- 6:11Speaker 1: to have a buddy that you're like, Hey, man, did
- 6:13Speaker 1: you peloton today? Yeah? Hey, you got your big ass
- 6:16Speaker 1: fucking jug of water? Yeah? You know, like, Um, I
- 6:19Speaker 1: don't have a jar of water today. Sorry, that's small,
- 6:22Speaker 1: too small? Um? Are you working out a lot right now? Yeah,
- 6:28Speaker 1: I'm working out. I'm training and I saw you looking sexy. Man, dude,
- 6:32Speaker 1: I'm not gonna lie to you. Thank you are looking good? Man,
- 6:34Speaker 1: you are? You are putting in. I'm trying to get this.
- 6:37Speaker 1: I'm trying to get the sea gutters back. I had
- 6:39Speaker 1: them for for for a moment. Summer. It's summer. You
- 6:43Speaker 1: gotta have the sea gutters. Well, you don't have to
- 6:45Speaker 1: have the sea gutters. You just have to be Look,
- 6:47Speaker 1: this is another thing I would like to have to
- 6:48Speaker 1: see guts. But when you're forty seven. It takes a
- 6:51Speaker 1: long time. A long time. No, but I'm saying the
- 6:54Speaker 1: love handles of the last to go. I just want
- 6:58Speaker 1: I just want to go into Beverly Hills and have
- 6:59Speaker 1: someone go, you know, I just want to be I
- 7:05Speaker 1: just want to be. Well, how much could it cost?
- 7:07Speaker 1: Can you cook? Can you google how much it cost
- 7:09Speaker 1: to have the love handles sucked out? What to put
- 7:14Speaker 1: on your ass? That's what the that's what some of
- 7:16Speaker 1: the women do. Then then then just put in their ass.
- 7:18Speaker 1: If we can get a bigger booty. What if is
- 7:21Speaker 1: there a way that fake doctor's real friends and some
- 7:23Speaker 1: could come and we'll do it live from there? Oh
- 7:26Speaker 1: that would be I would I would love to do
- 7:28Speaker 1: a live recording of you getting the cum gutters that
- 7:32Speaker 1: you desire and then getting it put then getting that fat.
- 7:35Speaker 1: Should we do a podcast from the doctor's office while
- 7:38Speaker 1: I'm having my my love handles put in my ass? Dane,
- 7:42Speaker 1: You'll be there, Oh, I'll be there right to the thing.
- 7:49Speaker 1: I just want to listen. I have a small booty,
- 7:51Speaker 1: and I live in Hollywood. It's accepted here. I just
- 7:55Speaker 1: want to suck out my love handles and put it
- 7:57Speaker 1: in my booty. I'll put the right love handle in
- 8:00Speaker 1: the right cheek. Cheek you don't have a lot of
- 8:05Speaker 1: You don't have a lot of love handle right now.
- 8:07Speaker 1: Man still be kind of tiny. Yeah, it'll have a
- 8:10Speaker 1: little booty, it will be much. But I'm I'm pelotoning
- 8:13Speaker 1: it off and I'm and I'm drinking a lot of water,
- 8:15Speaker 1: and I'm for you not not eating like an asshole.
- 8:17Speaker 1: And I'm barely drinking. And that's how you do it.
- 8:21Speaker 1: You do it. You got a lot of vegetables in
- 8:23Speaker 1: your diet. Are you doing a multi vitamin? I at
- 8:26Speaker 1: a lot of vegetables. I'm actually trying this food delivery
- 8:29Speaker 1: company that I don't like. It's it's very healthy, but
- 8:31Speaker 1: it's just not doesn't taste good to me. But you know,
- 8:34Speaker 1: those are hard to find. It's all difficult. It's very
- 8:37Speaker 1: difficult to get in shape eating something that somebody else
- 8:40Speaker 1: is saying, this is what you should eat today. Well,
- 8:42Speaker 1: it's I think it's also hard for people who work afore.
- 8:45Speaker 1: You know, I have to I have to say I
- 8:47Speaker 1: have to give respect to people that work a real
- 8:49Speaker 1: nine to five job and then have to come home
- 8:52Speaker 1: and eat healthy and and and bring healthy food to
- 8:55Speaker 1: work and all that stuff. I mean, I you know,
- 8:59Speaker 1: you come out, come out for for a lunch break
- 9:01Speaker 1: and there's a Chipotle right there, and you're like, oh,
- 9:03Speaker 1: I love I love a burrito. I don't want to
- 9:05Speaker 1: go a salad, you know, But down what are you saying? No,
- 9:09Speaker 1: I'm with you. That's I feel the exact same way,
- 9:11Speaker 1: working at nine to five and then being like, Okay,
- 9:13Speaker 1: let's make a healthy dinner. Yeah. Yeah, it's hard. It's hard.
- 9:16Speaker 1: Well it's not just that, it's also when you have
- 9:18Speaker 1: kids and stuff like that, you know what I mean, Yeah,
- 9:20Speaker 1: and they want to spend the whole day I want them. Shit,
- 9:25Speaker 1: you spend a whole day doing kid activities and stuff
- 9:28Speaker 1: like that, and then the nighttime comes and there's those
- 9:31Speaker 1: arches and you're like, yep, let's pull in. They took
- 9:34Speaker 1: out the last McDonald's. Um that's anywhere near me. Granted
- 9:38Speaker 1: now I live in a Hollywood West Hollywood areas, so
- 9:42Speaker 1: it's probably the only it's that's probably the only place
- 9:45Speaker 1: in the country that can say that. But there was
- 9:47Speaker 1: the one on on Sunset and Crescent the Heights that's gone.
- 9:50Speaker 1: There was the one across from CBS Radford, that's gone.
- 9:53Speaker 1: I was just trying to carry brothers about this because
- 9:55Speaker 1: he loves McDonald's and used to and his wife's pregnant,
- 9:58Speaker 1: so they're like, they're like McDonald's fans, and uh, I
- 10:02Speaker 1: know where they all are. But and he's like and
- 10:04Speaker 1: he's like, he's like, we gotta go to Sherman Oaks
- 10:07Speaker 1: for Yeah, that's where, buddy. But I'm just thinking, like,
- 10:12Speaker 1: this is by the only area of the country where
- 10:14Speaker 1: there's Dona McDonald's every fucking half mile, right, Yeah, that's
- 10:18Speaker 1: that's true. Um, okay, so switching gears. I'm really excited this.
- 10:24Speaker 1: You know, it will have already happened and we will
- 10:27Speaker 1: have already talked about it. Uh, but I'm really excited
- 10:30Speaker 1: for this Friday. I mean, like, oh, ob one, oh,
- 10:35Speaker 1: I'm not going out tonight like there was a because
- 10:38Speaker 1: because he was gonna take the kid to basketball, I'm
- 10:41Speaker 1: not taking the kid to bask until midnight. I don't
- 10:47Speaker 1: want to risk anything. I want to make sure that
- 10:50Speaker 1: I am alive to see the Obi Wan Canobi premiere.
- 10:58Speaker 1: Yeah shit, I don't give a fuck. Way goes. There's
- 11:00Speaker 1: a possibility that we could be driving on the road
- 11:03Speaker 1: and we get a flat tire and have to spend
- 11:06Speaker 1: an evening and then midnight comes and Nope, it's not available.
- 11:11Speaker 1: I'm telling you right now, I am very excited about
- 11:14Speaker 1: it drops at midnight tonight. Not only am I excited
- 11:18Speaker 1: about that four Oh my god, did you see that trail?
- 11:26Speaker 1: Did you see that trailer? No? But I saw Natalie's
- 11:28Speaker 1: bought fucking arms on a picture. Natalie I ripped, she
- 11:33Speaker 1: got the guns. I think hire, we need to hire
- 11:36Speaker 1: Portman's trainer. No, I want I want Liam Hemsworth's trainer,
- 11:42Speaker 1: because whatever that brother is doing. God, look, yeah, there's
- 11:47Speaker 1: a scene. There's a scene in the trailer where they look.
- 11:50Speaker 1: There's a scene in the trailer where they flick his
- 11:52Speaker 1: clothes like the guy. I think it's who is it
- 11:55Speaker 1: he's playing? Yeah, Russell Crowe's playing? Like, uh, is he
- 11:59Speaker 1: playing Zeus? Is that who we're going to see? Right?
- 12:01Speaker 1: So Russell curls praying Zeus and he flicks Thor's clothes off,
- 12:06Speaker 1: and not only do the women faint, but the men faint.
- 12:10Speaker 1: Everybody around is like, yo, I stopped the fucking I
- 12:17Speaker 1: stopped it. I stopped the trailer, ran into the living
- 12:19Speaker 1: room where my wife was and I was like, baby,
- 12:22Speaker 1: you've seen the Thort trailer and just it had just
- 12:24Speaker 1: come out. I was like, you seen the Thort trailer
- 12:26Speaker 1: yet she was like no. I was like, let me
- 12:28Speaker 1: show it to you. I showed it to her. She
- 12:31Speaker 1: fucking when the flick happened. She even went, you think
- 12:37Speaker 1: they're for theaters? You know? Oh? I hope, Well it's Disney.
- 12:41Speaker 1: So I don't know. I don't mean what do you
- 12:43Speaker 1: mean blurred? They blurred his his behind in the trailer,
- 12:48Speaker 1: um him from the back, completely nude out. I feel
- 12:54Speaker 1: like it's take away that dude is that dude is okay?
- 13:01Speaker 1: I don't know. Look, he's a very funny actor. He's
- 13:03Speaker 1: a very good actor, and his brother both His brother's
- 13:07Speaker 1: a sweetheart. Uh. Anyway, my point is, holy shit, dude,
- 13:11Speaker 1: what the fuck are you doing? How do I that's
- 13:14Speaker 1: how do I get to your height? One? And how
- 13:17Speaker 1: do I get those muscles too? You know what to do?
- 13:20Speaker 1: You could go on the program listen we should get
- 13:23Speaker 1: in this episode because it's fucking great. And listen, I'm
- 13:26Speaker 1: not just saying this. People are gonna go, oh, his
- 13:28Speaker 1: act directed this, so he's gonna be biased. I didn't
- 13:30Speaker 1: write the fucking thing. I did do a decent job
- 13:32Speaker 1: directing it. But this episode I found to be one
- 13:36Speaker 1: of the best in a long time. I laughed my
- 13:39Speaker 1: ass off. It's emotional, it is very well directed. Let's
- 13:45Speaker 1: be honest, and um and and everybody brought their a game.
- 13:50Speaker 1: It's beautifully shot. It's it's great, don't you think absolutely.
- 13:54Speaker 1: I was gonna ask you, let's get to the story
- 14:01Speaker 1: about show we made about a bunch of nurses and
- 14:09Speaker 1: stories sound yea, all right? So look, I have a
- 14:25Speaker 1: bunch of questions. One did end would DP this? Yes,
- 14:29Speaker 1: he did DP this. Yes, I don't think I don't think.
- 14:32Speaker 1: There's there's very few episodes John didn't shoot. Well, there
- 14:35Speaker 1: are episodes where he or days that he didn't shoot. Yeah, yeah,
- 14:39Speaker 1: and and and and Andy w. Goffer would step up
- 14:42Speaker 1: and and and Andy and Richard would sort of Richard
- 14:45Speaker 1: was the a camera operator. They would sort of share duties.
- 14:47Speaker 1: Um and they had different they had they both had
- 14:50Speaker 1: different versions of well, they both had different versions of
- 14:54Speaker 1: what the hospital looked like too. So Andy's had a
- 14:56Speaker 1: very warmer That's why I was asking, because I remember
- 14:59Speaker 1: Andy had a very warmer tone. Yeah, very I had,
- 15:02Speaker 1: sorry had Andy had a more warm tone to his
- 15:06Speaker 1: deeping and I don't remember Richards, but like John's was
- 15:11Speaker 1: so cold, John was more like the pilot than anything. Right,
- 15:15Speaker 1: Andy added warmth. Well, this episode had warmth around a Loma,
- 15:19Speaker 1: which I noticed the style. And I don't know if
- 15:21Speaker 1: there's something John and Sarah and Sarah and all of
- 15:24Speaker 1: these people like, yeah, I don't know. This may have
- 15:26Speaker 1: been something that John and I discussed. I don't know,
- 15:29Speaker 1: but it does look a little bit different. Um. I
- 15:32Speaker 1: think if you look at this, the shots from the
- 15:35Speaker 1: top around Aloma, they're warmer. It's almost like it's almost
- 15:39Speaker 1: giving her angelic glow to set you up and giving
- 15:43Speaker 1: myself goosebumps. But in giving you this angelic glow to
- 15:47Speaker 1: set you up for the ending. Um, I thought Aloma
- 15:50Speaker 1: right did a fantastic act job in this. You know,
- 15:53Speaker 1: she's usually just the one liner, um comedic relief, but
- 15:58Speaker 1: this episode was a chance for her to really show
- 16:01Speaker 1: the audience that she is a great actress. Yeah, you know,
- 16:05Speaker 1: she's Alma has been in a lot of other things
- 16:08Speaker 1: other than Scrubs. A lot of people know her best
- 16:10Speaker 1: from Scrubs, but she's I was in a movie called
- 16:14Speaker 1: Tripping with her. She's been doing this for a bit,
- 16:18Speaker 1: and yes, you don't survive in this in this industry
- 16:23Speaker 1: just being an okay actor you have. I was just happy, Chops.
- 16:27Speaker 1: I was very happy as you were to see to
- 16:31Speaker 1: let her to I'm happy to Bill gave her the
- 16:34Speaker 1: opportunity to show set Chops too. Yeah, um, kel So,
- 16:40Speaker 1: let's just go the top dogs are. Elliott has the
- 16:44Speaker 1: idea of bringing dog in, the patient's dog in to
- 16:47Speaker 1: cheer her up. She's terminally ill, and everybody loves dogs.
- 16:52Speaker 1: I love my dog, warn anything, and and so I
- 16:56Speaker 1: get it. And so Sarah's on a mission to get
- 16:58Speaker 1: that bulldog in there, and she conspires with the janitor
- 17:02Speaker 1: to sneak the dog in. So the thing that in
- 17:06Speaker 1: this storyline that are great, the Kelso not talking to
- 17:10Speaker 1: Elliott thing tracks. Yeah, it's tracks since she's become private practice,
- 17:14Speaker 1: and they've kept it through the whole series to this point, right,
- 17:18Speaker 1: and we eventually learned, you know why, when Judy later
- 17:23Speaker 1: tells her, like, you know, I think you're not you're
- 17:26Speaker 1: you have a blind spot you're not, which is always
- 17:29Speaker 1: great when you're friend and you have a friendship with
- 17:31Speaker 1: someone and they can tell you a blind spot you're
- 17:34Speaker 1: not seeing. And so Judy says, like, you know, he
- 17:40Speaker 1: trained you, He this hospital spent all this money and
- 17:43Speaker 1: time and effort making you the doctor you are, and
- 17:47Speaker 1: then you just leave for private practice. Like how do
- 17:49Speaker 1: you think that makes him feel? And so Elliott at
- 17:51Speaker 1: the end of the episode has an epiphany about all that. Yeah,
- 17:55Speaker 1: all of it. And because Bill and the writers they
- 17:59Speaker 1: really set us up great, you know what I mean.
- 18:02Speaker 1: This episode has so much at the end to cry about.
- 18:06Speaker 1: You know the fact that nurse Roberts is now in
- 18:10Speaker 1: a coma. Elliott and Kelso have mended their relationship, and
- 18:16Speaker 1: you know, Elliott has a different perspective of him, not
- 18:20Speaker 1: only him, but also the hospital. She's definitely more appreciative
- 18:24Speaker 1: because of what Carla told her, and so like, yeah,
- 18:31Speaker 1: this is You're absolutely right. It's well directed, but it's
- 18:34Speaker 1: also really well written. And it's like all of the
- 18:36Speaker 1: ship that we talk we will get into all of
- 18:38Speaker 1: the shit that we talked about the season in the
- 18:42Speaker 1: beginning and how it wasn't really that good. It's completely
- 18:46Speaker 1: grown on me. I know it's grown on you as well. Yeah,
- 18:50Speaker 1: And I just gotta say again. I laughed out loud
- 18:56Speaker 1: so many times in this episode, and then they dropped
- 18:59Speaker 1: the fucking heartbreak at the end in the classic Bill
- 19:03Speaker 1: Lawrence style. We should mention it's written by Jenney Backin,
- 19:06Speaker 1: but we always say it's also a team of writers
- 19:09Speaker 1: in a writer's room, and of course the mad genius himself,
- 19:12Speaker 1: Bill Lawrence. But um, it's just I just kept laughing.
- 19:17Speaker 1: First of all, breasts are a very big theme in
- 19:19Speaker 1: this episode. Um, it could have been called my breasts. Well,
- 19:23Speaker 1: it could have been called it could have been called
- 19:26Speaker 1: the Beautiful Ladies of Sacred Heart. Also, everybody is like
- 19:32Speaker 1: glammed up something about your episodes, man, all the girls
- 19:36Speaker 1: are always glammed. Oh man, I didn't write a baby.
- 19:40Speaker 1: I just I just shot him, all right, listen, let's
- 19:43Speaker 1: go back to the top. Leonard tries to help um
- 19:46Speaker 1: Elliott when she falls. I he goes my bad uh
- 19:53Speaker 1: are shirt off because he he's used to have well
- 19:57Speaker 1: he's used to having a hand, so and it's his
- 19:59Speaker 1: right hand, so he goes to grab her with his
- 20:01Speaker 1: dominant hand. Yeah it's no longer there. It's a hook. Yeah.
- 20:04Speaker 1: And that top off that was so shameless, Like Elliott
- 20:07Speaker 1: just in a bra in front of the class, and
- 20:10Speaker 1: then you reveal that every single person has their phone
- 20:13Speaker 1: out trying to film our guys put the phones down.
- 20:16Speaker 1: Then we have the classic Scrubs hot girl entrance as
- 20:20Speaker 1: Turk and Carla have gotten the nanny named Heather. Turk
- 20:24Speaker 1: brings the nanny cam video to work to show everyone
- 20:28Speaker 1: because he cannot believe how attractive she is. No, right, yes,
- 20:35Speaker 1: and and the funniest story is, oh my god, he
- 20:40Speaker 1: tells the Todd. This brings back so much. This episode
- 20:49Speaker 1: brings back so much from like season one or two.
- 20:52Speaker 1: It brings back so much. Wait. Wait, First of all,
- 20:56Speaker 1: he puts on the tape and uh no, he says,
- 20:59Speaker 1: I have a Ted. Ted's no way, hold up, go back.
- 21:02Speaker 1: He says, I have a tape, and he goes, let
- 21:06Speaker 1: me assemble everybody. Todd goes on the roof and blows
- 21:11Speaker 1: into a horn. Booby, it's like a booby so far right,
- 21:14Speaker 1: it's not a disraydo so there's no but it's it's
- 21:18Speaker 1: a booby horn. Yeah, and he says boobye booby right.
- 21:26Speaker 1: Remember that olds those old Recola commercials. I think it
- 21:31Speaker 1: was a takeoff on that because they would cut to
- 21:33Speaker 1: those dudes. I think that horn is I mean just
- 21:37Speaker 1: from the Recola commercials something. But anyway, Booby all the
- 21:43Speaker 1: men in the hospital, and this call and this calls
- 21:47Speaker 1: all the men the hospital to know that there were
- 21:50Speaker 1: there's I mean, this is actually twenty twenty two, so inappropriate.
- 21:53Speaker 1: It's not It's not much different than than Revenge of
- 21:56Speaker 1: the Nerds when they hid the cameras in the sorority house.
- 22:00Speaker 1: But all of the men are rushing to see the boobies, right.
- 22:04Speaker 1: They not only do they rush in a split second,
- 22:08Speaker 1: they've all appeared. Kelso goes, gotta go Booby Hoorn. He's
- 22:11Speaker 1: telling someone they're gonna die. They're like, I'm sorry, we
- 22:13Speaker 1: did the best we could. Gotta go Boobyhorn. And then
- 22:17Speaker 1: Doug drops a corpse. Doug is moving a corpse in
- 22:21Speaker 1: a body bag and he drops it. And then before
- 22:25Speaker 1: we get into watching this, Ted says that his mom
- 22:28Speaker 1: put a nanny cam in his bathroom because she said
- 22:32Speaker 1: my baths were too long. Now we're watching the booby
- 22:37Speaker 1: So everyone assembles, were watching the boobies and then I
- 22:41Speaker 1: laughed out loud when Todd says leans over to me, goes,
- 22:45Speaker 1: can you make her eat a banana, and I go,
- 22:49Speaker 1: it's not interactive, Todd, so good. That was one of
- 22:54Speaker 1: the funniest lines in the episode. Can you make her
- 22:57Speaker 1: eat a banana? And then Judy comes in and this
- 23:03Speaker 1: was funny too. Judy comes in and and then I
- 23:08Speaker 1: the voiceover says, we've all go oh, quickly turned off
- 23:12Speaker 1: its football? It is football, And she goes, isn't the
- 23:14Speaker 1: season over? And I got this off scrubs wiki that
- 23:18Speaker 1: JD says, and then every mail in the room felt
- 23:20Speaker 1: totally in sync, resulting in the rarest of all phenomenon.
- 23:24Speaker 1: The Seamless Collaborative guy Lie Keith says, the American season
- 23:29Speaker 1: is over. We were watching Mexican football. Doug says. They
- 23:33Speaker 1: started late this year. Todd says because of the Churi vendors.
- 23:38Speaker 1: Ted says, they went on strike and the players wouldn't
- 23:41Speaker 1: cross the picket line, and then j D says, when
- 23:44Speaker 1: the dispute turned violent, they called in Rodrigo Vasquez, the
- 23:48Speaker 1: owner of the Baja Panditos, to step in. And then
- 23:51Speaker 1: doctor Kelso says, thanks to Signor Vasquez's experience dealing with
- 23:55Speaker 1: the fruit pickers union, he was able to broke her
- 23:57Speaker 1: a last minute deal and the season was And then
- 24:00Speaker 1: Turk says, and that's why we're watching football in spring right.
- 24:06Speaker 1: So funny, so funny and very cleverly directed by the director.
- 24:10Speaker 1: Um hip panting between everybody. I think it's a wonner
- 24:13Speaker 1: because it just whip pads between everyone, moves all around.
- 24:17Speaker 1: It's pretty funny. And then she says she doesn't care,
- 24:19Speaker 1: and then she then she's then Turk like an ass head,
- 24:22Speaker 1: sits on the remote and it keeps playing and she uh,
- 24:27Speaker 1: and she sees that Turk has brought in the videotape
- 24:32Speaker 1: of the Nannie's breast and showing everyone in the hospital. Um,
- 24:38Speaker 1: I want to go back for a second, just to
- 24:40Speaker 1: talk about to set up the other storyline, which is
- 24:42Speaker 1: Cox and Johnny and Krista, Krista, sorry Jordan. Jordan has
- 24:49Speaker 1: a very funny monologue about all the funny things she
- 24:51Speaker 1: wants them to do, including going to the video store.
- 24:53Speaker 1: Remember the video store, um course somehow um. And she
- 24:57Speaker 1: she says she wants to him to get anything with
- 25:00Speaker 1: Vigo somethingson we go Mortonson, No, she said yeah, but
- 25:04Speaker 1: she says something soon because he's hot and she wants
- 25:09Speaker 1: something anything, with him in it, right, Joel, Lord of
- 25:11Speaker 1: the Rings, Joel, what's your what's your promises? Oh? Yeah,
- 25:18Speaker 1: head dark. He is naked, it's very dark. There's a
- 25:23Speaker 1: lot of guys fighting. I just feel like it's Jordan.
- 25:25Speaker 1: There's a whole naked fight scene in that. Sure is
- 25:29Speaker 1: um Eastern promises Jordan. Let's go back in time and
- 25:32Speaker 1: tell her actually probably wasn't out. Sorry, that's that makes
- 25:36Speaker 1: this this makes no sense. But anyway, when she said
- 25:39Speaker 1: go to the video store, I thought that was funny. Um.
- 25:43Speaker 1: So Laverne and Johnny obviously have this thing about everything
- 25:46Speaker 1: happening for a reason. Just say one thing before we
- 25:49Speaker 1: move on. Yeah, holy cow. Kristin Miller pregnant, beautiful. Wow,
- 25:55Speaker 1: she's so pretty. Yeah, oh my goodness, gracious man. And
- 25:58Speaker 1: she's hilarious with that monologue, had a great Uh. She
- 26:01Speaker 1: did his whole run on all the things she wanted
- 26:03Speaker 1: Cox to do for her, and she was very funny. Yeah.
- 26:06Speaker 1: And then there was one who was like I think
- 26:09Speaker 1: his punch line was like, well when would I have
- 26:11Speaker 1: time to kill myself? And her response is, well, that's
- 26:15Speaker 1: not my problem. Right, great scene, that scene. I remember
- 26:21Speaker 1: when the scene was over, I was like, wow, the
- 26:22Speaker 1: two of them, Wow that the moment. They had a
- 26:25Speaker 1: great chemistry and they really all directed. Zach Braff, thank you. Um,
- 26:29Speaker 1: I thought it was I thought it was good. I'm
- 26:32Speaker 1: I'm proud of you know. Bill would often give me
- 26:34Speaker 1: the showy episodes because I liked having showy episodes like
- 26:38Speaker 1: whether it's you know, the Wizard of Oz or the
- 26:40Speaker 1: Princess Bride or whichever one or the you know, those
- 26:44Speaker 1: kind of big ones, and this one's relatively contained. Um,
- 26:49Speaker 1: but I'm I'm really proud of it. I I thought
- 26:51Speaker 1: I did a nice job, and I think I consider well.
- 26:53Speaker 1: I wanted to talk to you about that. You know,
- 26:55Speaker 1: there were a lot of things that were different about
- 26:58Speaker 1: this episode. We talked about the lighting and everything. But
- 27:03Speaker 1: to tell a story, certain things have to I guess
- 27:07Speaker 1: be told through silhouette. And I don't know if you
- 27:13Speaker 1: didn't do this as a director, but there are a
- 27:16Speaker 1: lot of moments, like even the last shot of the show,
- 27:19Speaker 1: that's that's the I'm so proud of that shot. Right.
- 27:22Speaker 1: But if because you could take everybody's face away, you
- 27:26Speaker 1: could take all the colors away, and you could literally
- 27:29Speaker 1: silhouette everyone and you could still tell the story of
- 27:34Speaker 1: what's going something powerful is going on. By the way,
- 27:37Speaker 1: you just gave me goose bumps, and it was cool.
- 27:39Speaker 1: Was like the idea was all our main characters, not
- 27:44Speaker 1: not the janitor, but all all our main doctors are
- 27:47Speaker 1: are in the shot digesting this. But it's clearly Johnny
- 27:52Speaker 1: front and center because of this whole debate they've been having,
- 27:57Speaker 1: and it's just a beautiful shot like it was. It
- 28:01Speaker 1: was that final frame of the show is beautiful. But
- 28:03Speaker 1: that's what I'm saying. That's important, you know what I mean.
- 28:07Speaker 1: A lot of people think directing is while he can
- 28:10Speaker 1: handle or she can handle or they can handle actors,
- 28:14Speaker 1: it's way more than that. It's telling a story. Well,
- 28:18Speaker 1: it's my two favorite things combined. It's photography with telling
- 28:24Speaker 1: you a great story. By the way, in the spirit
- 28:26Speaker 1: of that, I'm glad. I'm just I digressed for a moment.
- 28:28Speaker 1: I'm reading this amazing book. It's the biography of Mike Nichols.
- 28:31Speaker 1: I recommend it to everybody. It's written by Mark Harris.
- 28:34Speaker 1: You can find it wherever you buy books. It's a
- 28:38Speaker 1: page turner. If you love movies and you love theater
- 28:41Speaker 1: and you love the art, form. Mike Nichols has had
- 28:43Speaker 1: an extraordinary career, and there's just so many incredible stories
- 28:47Speaker 1: in it, and it's just a page turner. I was
- 28:49Speaker 1: just reading yesterday how The Graduate, which he directed his
- 28:53Speaker 1: second film, had horrible reviews. The critics not all, but
- 28:57Speaker 1: like the biggest critics trashed trashed it, dude. At the time.
- 29:05Speaker 1: At the time Donald it became the third highest grossing
- 29:09Speaker 1: movie of all time. And Carrie Brothers told me yesterday
- 29:14Speaker 1: that they ran at twenty four to seven because they
- 29:17Speaker 1: realized that because young people so took to it that
- 29:21Speaker 1: they would go it, they would go it to in
- 29:23Speaker 1: the morning, and so they were running this movie twenty
- 29:26Speaker 1: four hours a day because that's how much it hit
- 29:30Speaker 1: in the right spot with the culture and with young people.
- 29:33Speaker 1: And I just want to say to anyone who creates
- 29:35Speaker 1: anything to the small tirade for you, anyone who puts
- 29:38Speaker 1: themselves out there in any way creatively or a business
- 29:42Speaker 1: or whatever, these fucking haters that come after you. This
- 29:46Speaker 1: guy not only did the biggest critics say this is
- 29:49Speaker 1: trash at the time, you can go look it up.
- 29:51Speaker 1: I mean it's in the book. You'll you'll see it
- 29:53Speaker 1: if you read the book or you can google it,
- 29:55Speaker 1: but they but his friends were even like, no one
- 29:58Speaker 1: wanted Dustin Hoffman except him. He just knew Dustin Hoffin
- 30:01Speaker 1: was it. And people were he was showing he was
- 30:03Speaker 1: screening the movie for his friends and they will be like, oh, man,
- 30:06Speaker 1: it's a shame about the kid. But otherwise it's it's
- 30:08Speaker 1: really really good man and and and these were like
- 30:12Speaker 1: his close posse members. And then the movie comes out
- 30:15Speaker 1: and is you know, one of the consider one of
- 30:18Speaker 1: the greatest films of all time. Um So, I just
- 30:21Speaker 1: think it's a it's an inspiration for anyone who goes
- 30:23Speaker 1: out there and and deals with naysayers about their work. Um,
- 30:28Speaker 1: whether it's creative in our example, or or like I said,
- 30:31Speaker 1: it's a business or anything that you put yourself out
- 30:33Speaker 1: there to do, there's always going to be naysayers. And
- 30:36Speaker 1: then there's these wonderful stories like like Mike Nichols directing
- 30:39Speaker 1: The Graduate and and his career is filled with that
- 30:43Speaker 1: of moments of people being like absolutely not, are you
- 30:46Speaker 1: out of your mind? That's going to ruin the movie.
- 30:48Speaker 1: And then he goes out on a limb and it
- 30:49Speaker 1: becomes you know, who's afraid of Virginia Wolf and it's
- 30:52Speaker 1: a it's a it's a great lesson in trusting your
- 30:55Speaker 1: gut instinct and knowing the story that you want to tell. Uh,
- 30:59Speaker 1: sometimes you fail and sometimes you succeed. It's really about
- 31:02Speaker 1: the journey. And so you know, it's the greats that
- 31:05Speaker 1: trust their instinct and and you know and can move
- 31:09Speaker 1: past the failures and when the success happens, it's amazing.
- 31:13Speaker 1: Same thing happened with George Lucas. He had a minor
- 31:16Speaker 1: success with that American Graffiti and then he showed Star
- 31:22Speaker 1: Wars to his buddies. All of his friends told him
- 31:25Speaker 1: that movie was trash. His mentor told him the movie
- 31:28Speaker 1: was trash. And then it goes on to it goes
- 31:31Speaker 1: on to you know, revolutionized filmmaking and stuff. Same thing
- 31:36Speaker 1: with the Graduate Man, like the soundtrack soundtrack alone from
- 31:42Speaker 1: that movie, you know what I mean. The studio was
- 31:45Speaker 1: livid that he wanted to use all Pulse, not all,
- 31:49Speaker 1: but predominantly Paul Simon's songs. They were livid. They were like,
- 31:52Speaker 1: what those songs are popular? This isn't a commercial. One
- 31:59Speaker 1: of the critics, one the one of the biggest critics.
- 32:01Speaker 1: I forgot who it was one of the biggest biggest
- 32:02Speaker 1: critics at the time called it a commercial because of
- 32:06Speaker 1: his innovative use of music. Um, it's just it was
- 32:09Speaker 1: just it's just fascinating. And you know, I always say,
- 32:11Speaker 1: there's so many examples this. You know, the most current
- 32:14Speaker 1: one in our life is that Apple's the only company
- 32:17Speaker 1: that bid on Ted Lasso. Apple is the only company
- 32:21Speaker 1: that wanted Lasso. And look at that, and look at that.
- 32:24Speaker 1: Bill went around town and Jason and they were dumbfounded.
- 32:27Speaker 1: And Apple's the only one that took took a risk
- 32:30Speaker 1: on them. But that's what it is, man, anyway, So
- 32:33Speaker 1: hopefully that's motivation for someone out there. Should we take
- 32:37Speaker 1: a break, We'll take a break, We'll be right back
- 32:44Speaker 1: and we're who Tank forever. Hey, listen, when I send
- 32:56Speaker 1: you these Star Wars things, do you even look at them?
- 32:58Speaker 1: Because I texted that ship was so boring. Man, that's
- 33:01Speaker 1: the most boring I've ever seen my Star Wars heroes
- 33:04Speaker 1: in my life. I was like, Wow, Well, when somebody
- 33:06Speaker 1: somebody recut Star Wars to be about ob one, I thought, no, No,
- 33:10Speaker 1: I didn't look at that one. I'm talking about it.
- 33:13Speaker 1: When I'm talking about the interview friend like, I'm talking
- 33:15Speaker 1: about that because some of the shit I've seen already.
- 33:17Speaker 1: I'm talking about the interview that they did with Carrie Fisher,
- 33:21Speaker 1: Harrison Ford, and Mark Hambell. This is what I don't understand.
- 33:25Speaker 1: It was. It was a boring interview, is what you're saying. Yeah, man,
- 33:27Speaker 1: But and they and they're sitting on like even the
- 33:30Speaker 1: dude who's interviewing, I forget who it is. He's so
- 33:33Speaker 1: excited about it. He's like, dude, I've gotta tell you, guys,
- 33:35Speaker 1: this movie is gonna change everything. This is amazing. And
- 33:38Speaker 1: these guys are all like, yeah, and when I made
- 33:41Speaker 1: the movie. And I hate when that happens when you're excited,
- 33:46Speaker 1: especially when the interviewers excited about something and they're talking
- 33:50Speaker 1: about how like you're watching all these people go out
- 33:52Speaker 1: and do the stuff for Maverick right now, apparently this
- 33:54Speaker 1: movie is really well, are loving it? Right? It's really
- 34:00Speaker 1: cool to see that the actors are just as excited for,
- 34:04Speaker 1: you know, you to see it as the you know,
- 34:07Speaker 1: as the audience is to see it. It. I hate
- 34:10Speaker 1: it when the actor comes out too cool for school
- 34:13Speaker 1: because they got a fucking persona to you know what
- 34:17Speaker 1: I mean. I think that's what they I didn't watch it.
- 34:19Speaker 1: I just send it to you, Daniel, I send him
- 34:21Speaker 1: um and sometimes you're well anything Star Wars related because
- 34:25Speaker 1: of their passion, of course. And I have no sense
- 34:28Speaker 1: there's no like, not even from Donald's a thumbs up
- 34:31Speaker 1: or oh that was a good one, or I've seen
- 34:35Speaker 1: this before any event, if anything, it's seen it before.
- 34:41Speaker 1: I like it when you get Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher
- 34:44Speaker 1: and Harrison Ford enthusiastic about I can't. I don't like
- 34:50Speaker 1: it when I don't like it when they're bored, when
- 34:52Speaker 1: you know, maybe they're in shock. I don't know what
- 34:55Speaker 1: it is, but they just see you were probably nervous
- 34:58Speaker 1: because the right this is like a first. They're bigger.
- 35:00Speaker 1: There's big interviews, right you know, Harrison for was I
- 35:04Speaker 1: don't know what level his career was at the time.
- 35:07Speaker 1: I don't do you know he was a carpenter. I
- 35:10Speaker 1: know he was a carpenter. But before Star Wars had
- 35:12Speaker 1: he worked to George Lucas's American Graffiti. Dude, he's reading
- 35:18Speaker 1: with all of these actors for Star Wars. He's freaking
- 35:20Speaker 1: in the Dude, he's building a room in the casting
- 35:25Speaker 1: office he's helping build the room. Really ask yeah, man,
- 35:29Speaker 1: And that's how he gets to read with George's like,
- 35:32Speaker 1: why don't you read? I need you to read with
- 35:34Speaker 1: these people. Well, I'm gonna not to read in the movie.
- 35:37Speaker 1: Why don't you read with these actors? When I direct him?
- 35:40Speaker 1: Are you going to come visit? It's the coming up? Man?
- 35:43Speaker 1: If I get you a special COVIDM Bill like throwing
- 35:46Speaker 1: shit in my face. Man, I just want to know
- 35:48Speaker 1: if you want to come up at the set. You M,
- 35:51Speaker 1: Bill are like danger? You like you guys like you
- 35:53Speaker 1: dangle to carrot in front of me, such able invitation.
- 35:56Speaker 1: Take it. I'm not going to I'm not going to
- 35:59Speaker 1: watch him direct my I don't get the funk out
- 36:01Speaker 1: of here. Man. I want to be in sanes with
- 36:02Speaker 1: the motherfucker. I think that's a no um okay. So,
- 36:07Speaker 1: in the spirit of the whole debate about things having
- 36:10Speaker 1: for a reason, Cox spills coffee. I take a big fall,
- 36:15Speaker 1: and uh, Nurse Noel steps on me. She really doesn't care.
- 36:22Speaker 1: I mean, can you imagine this? I thanks Noel, she
- 36:25Speaker 1: just walks on me. Not very nice of Noel. That
- 36:30Speaker 1: was a great prep fall by Thank you. Also, oh,
- 36:33Speaker 1: I thought you're telling me I did a good one. Yeah,
- 36:36Speaker 1: we both we both had some good falls. Um, that
- 36:48Speaker 1: could be two things that could be falling and it
- 36:50Speaker 1: could be the other thing. Yeah. Well, in my case
- 36:56Speaker 1: it was the classic JD fallen noise. In your case,
- 37:03Speaker 1: it's making six children. Um. Then we get to a
- 37:08Speaker 1: very sad moment where a child has been stabbed in
- 37:10Speaker 1: a robbery and Johnny c says to Laverne, Oh, really,
- 37:15Speaker 1: what's the reason this horrible thing could have happened? And
- 37:18Speaker 1: her faith is not shattered. She says there'll be some reason,
- 37:21Speaker 1: just just you wait. In so many words, Jordan expresses
- 37:26Speaker 1: love and genuine appreciation for for Cox for the first
- 37:31Speaker 1: time in six seasons. Really right, right, but this tracks
- 37:39Speaker 1: she really it really is. It really is great writing
- 37:43Speaker 1: to connect the problems that they're having with the problems
- 37:49Speaker 1: that they were having with their child to them being
- 37:54Speaker 1: able to make it through however many episodes this is,
- 37:58Speaker 1: you know, and just when you get about it, Nurse
- 38:01Speaker 1: Roberts reminds you and and it makes it so that
- 38:06Speaker 1: her admission to that, Jordan's admission to Cox is even
- 38:14Speaker 1: more Uh, it's it's a very vulnerable moment for both
- 38:20Speaker 1: of them, and it's a very loving moment, and you know,
- 38:23Speaker 1: and and it's it's not followed with it's not necessarily
- 38:28Speaker 1: followed with the joke is, oh, how embarrassing it is
- 38:32Speaker 1: for you? But then her response is, yeah, and I wouldn't.
- 38:37Speaker 1: I think it's something like I wouldn't or something like that.
- 38:41Speaker 1: And that's that's great moments, especially in the evolution of
- 38:44Speaker 1: these two. Yeah, especially because we never see Jordan vulnerable
- 38:47Speaker 1: at all, Like she does not let her guard down
- 38:50Speaker 1: very rarely. And uh, and this was so sweet. She
- 38:54Speaker 1: was so she was so loving and and she knows
- 38:57Speaker 1: how hard he's been um working for her and taking
- 39:01Speaker 1: care of her, and she finally gives me some appreciation.
- 39:04Speaker 1: So well, it is a very well direct you dude,
- 39:07Speaker 1: I love you man. It is a well directed episode.
- 39:09Speaker 1: Thank you man, Thank you. The janitor really hates it
- 39:13Speaker 1: when people call it a jumpsuit um. And I think
- 39:16Speaker 1: this came from Neil. Actually, I think Neil would always
- 39:19Speaker 1: be like, it's it's it's shirt and pants. Why would
- 39:22Speaker 1: I Why would I wear a belt with a jumpsuit?
- 39:24Speaker 1: And so I think that's why it ended up in
- 39:26Speaker 1: the script, because Neil would genuinely when anyone called a jumpsuit,
- 39:29Speaker 1: be like, it's it's not a jumpsuit, it's a shirt
- 39:33Speaker 1: and pants. Um so um. I laughed at, yeah, what's
- 39:40Speaker 1: all up in there? I know we're going back, but
- 39:43Speaker 1: I laughed at when who is it Elliott that says
- 39:47Speaker 1: what's all up your ass? And and then Cock to Cox.
- 39:52Speaker 1: She says that, and Cox walks up to Nurse Roberts
- 39:55Speaker 1: and she goes, yeah, what's all up in what's all
- 39:58Speaker 1: up in there? Yeah? What is it all up in there?
- 40:01Speaker 1: What about JD's first attempt to hit on the hot nanny?
- 40:04Speaker 1: Does a spoonful of sugar really make the medicine no down? Okay,
- 40:08Speaker 1: did you notice me try to find the camera behind
- 40:09Speaker 1: you when you said that? No, why you slid out?
- 40:12Speaker 1: I slide to the slide to the other side of well,
- 40:14Speaker 1: since I was directing and couldn't see the monitor. I
- 40:16Speaker 1: appreciate that, no doubt. Now. Then I go into a
- 40:20Speaker 1: very elaborate which was funny. I can say it's funny
- 40:23Speaker 1: because I didn't write it, but it was very funnily
- 40:25Speaker 1: written about my seven to nine week plan for seducing her.
- 40:33Speaker 1: And then oh my god, this is one of the
- 40:35Speaker 1: funniest fucking things of the season. Is your pov of
- 40:39Speaker 1: Elliott because whenever I've slept First of all, this doesn't
- 40:42Speaker 1: track at all because you've We've established you've slept with
- 40:45Speaker 1: women that I've slept with in the show. But your
- 40:49Speaker 1: pov of Elliott, because that's how you claim you see
- 40:54Speaker 1: anyone that I've slept with. That was hilarious. Who's that
- 40:56Speaker 1: internet guy that talks like that? Kind of white guy
- 41:01Speaker 1: talks like this? What's his name? I don't know. That's
- 41:03Speaker 1: your impression every white person, No, not all of them.
- 41:06Speaker 1: But he winds a lot long hair. I forget that
- 41:11Speaker 1: he's the one that does all of the like Takashi
- 41:14Speaker 1: six nine voiceovers, Blake Webber looks exactly like the guy
- 41:20Speaker 1: that plays what Turk sees. Oh I don't really know
- 41:24Speaker 1: who Webber is, but um okay, But anyway, the fact
- 41:30Speaker 1: that the lip sync was perfect. The guy, the actor
- 41:33Speaker 1: who played him was very funny, and he like flipped
- 41:36Speaker 1: his hair at the end. Um. What about Then Cox
- 41:40Speaker 1: brings in Lloyd in a sweater to try and fool Laverne.
- 41:47Speaker 1: This is the father of the young lady. Can you
- 41:49Speaker 1: tell him? Explain to him, why why this happened for
- 41:51Speaker 1: a reason, and Laverne goes, that's the delivery guy in
- 41:55Speaker 1: a sweater, and he goes, my name's Lloyd. It's a
- 42:01Speaker 1: it's a psych out too, because if you watch the
- 42:03Speaker 1: show and you see that, you're like, wait, hold up
- 42:05Speaker 1: they cast the guy to play I was like, I thought,
- 42:09Speaker 1: wait a minute, I directed this. I'm not gonna I'm
- 42:12Speaker 1: not an idiot. I'm not gonna have Mike Schwartz play
- 42:14Speaker 1: the dad. But she goes, that's the delivery guy in
- 42:19Speaker 1: his sweater. My name's Lloyd, a homeless guy through Pooh
- 42:25Speaker 1: in my eye, Jack the Pooh minor his first him.
- 42:32Speaker 1: Then you look, we could make a clip show at
- 42:36Speaker 1: just Lloyd moments. Hamlely gotta have him on. Yeah, that'd
- 42:39Speaker 1: be great. So there are a lot of wolf references
- 42:42Speaker 1: in this. Oh my god. This was the other biggest
- 42:44Speaker 1: laught told. Elliott was once mounted by a bolf. No way,
- 42:48Speaker 1: you're going too fast, hold on, hold on. And then
- 42:51Speaker 1: Joe Mgno, how do you say his last name? Joe?
- 42:54Speaker 1: How do you say his name? He's now famous, super famous,
- 42:58Speaker 1: Joe Manganello. This was Joe. Imagine now he got famous
- 43:01Speaker 1: before he played the werewolf on True Blood, is in
- 43:05Speaker 1: this episode as well. By the way, that fantasy of
- 43:09Speaker 1: me trying first of all, we gotta go we gotta
- 43:12Speaker 1: go through that real quick. Okay, so real quick. We
- 43:15Speaker 1: learned that they learned that the reason in LaVerne's mind
- 43:18Speaker 1: is that while getting a cat scan or an MRI,
- 43:21Speaker 1: I don't know which it is. I'm sorry, I think um,
- 43:24Speaker 1: I think it's MRI. Maybe a cat scan. I'm not sure. Sorry,
- 43:27Speaker 1: we're fake doctors, guys. You real doctors are yelling at us.
- 43:30Speaker 1: We don't know which machine it is. They say they
- 43:33Speaker 1: find a tumor the size of a golf ball right
- 43:35Speaker 1: where the knife went in, and they never would have
- 43:36Speaker 1: found that had that not happened. So Laverne is like, see,
- 43:39Speaker 1: that's why that happened. Um. Now JD's fantasy or I
- 43:45Speaker 1: should say, lie to Turk to try and help him
- 43:48Speaker 1: not be attracted to the nanny is one of the
- 43:49Speaker 1: funniest fucking things ever. I said, I knew he just
- 43:53Speaker 1: gets carried away because he had him. He had him.
- 43:56Speaker 1: I'm just trying to help you. Ye had him. I
- 43:59Speaker 1: know It's gonna take me seven to nine weeks to
- 44:01Speaker 1: have the balls to ask her out. So because she's
- 44:04Speaker 1: so pretty, so I I say, so. I make up
- 44:07Speaker 1: an very elaborate lie, but it's sort of like JD's
- 44:10Speaker 1: fantasy of what would have dreamed happened, would have happened. Yeah,
- 44:14Speaker 1: So the date's over and he goes, I knew you
- 44:16Speaker 1: needed me, so I went for it Italian style, because yeah,
- 44:21Speaker 1: because she puts her hand out for a shake and
- 44:23Speaker 1: I slap it away, and then we start kissing. And
- 44:26Speaker 1: then there's three football players who arrive, Joe being one
- 44:30Speaker 1: of them before he was famous, and he says, Oh,
- 44:33Speaker 1: it's the three guys football pallers used to beat me
- 44:35Speaker 1: up in high school? What do you What are you
- 44:37Speaker 1: guys doing? And Joe goes, oh, we're all gay together,
- 44:41Speaker 1: and they all and they all hold up their wedding rings.
- 44:43Speaker 1: They're in a throuble. They're in a married truble and
- 44:47Speaker 1: it's a poly polyamorous Is that what you call it, Joel?
- 44:52Speaker 1: They're in they're in a polly but they're married somehow,
- 44:55Speaker 1: or maybe they're just maybe they're just rings. Because I
- 44:56Speaker 1: don't know if you can legally get polly married. Maybe
- 44:59Speaker 1: someone states you can, and I don't know, if you
- 45:03Speaker 1: can get gay Polly married in Utah, can you really
- 45:08Speaker 1: get can you really get heterosexual Polly married in Utah?
- 45:13Speaker 1: Man one man with many wives? Yeah right, I know
- 45:16Speaker 1: the moments there. I just don't know if it's legal
- 45:18Speaker 1: or not. I'm curious, all right anyway, Yeah, then they
- 45:22Speaker 1: definitely don't want the gay version, I'm assuming, right right right?
- 45:28Speaker 1: Then another pretty woman. Then another pretty woman arrives and
- 45:30Speaker 1: I go, oh, so, and so you're the one who
- 45:32Speaker 1: turned me down for homecoming in prom, even though I
- 45:36Speaker 1: didn't ask you to either, And she goes, well, can
- 45:41Speaker 1: I have sex with you both? And then and then
- 45:44Speaker 1: Heather goes, as long as we make it all about JD?
- 45:48Speaker 1: And then and then she comes in and we all
- 45:50Speaker 1: start making out, and then Joe goes, enough of this,
- 45:53Speaker 1: let's go bang Yeah. And then the guy slaps his ass. Yeah.
- 45:59Speaker 1: And then we come out of the fantasy and the
- 46:01Speaker 1: infamous Dave Chappelle mom, buddy, yeah, And I have to
- 46:06Speaker 1: admit to Turk it's a lie, and that we went
- 46:09Speaker 1: line dancing and I cut her with one of my spurs. You.
- 46:15Speaker 1: J D wore spurs to go line dancing, just so
- 46:20Speaker 1: he could hear king ding. More importantly, he's so bad
- 46:24Speaker 1: at it. He's so bad at line dancing, and he's
- 46:26Speaker 1: wearing spurs. He managed to injure poor Heather with the spurs.
- 46:33Speaker 1: I'm so excited, you know, Jady was so excited to
- 46:35Speaker 1: wear the spurs. Sou'm gonna lie dad to the night
- 46:38Speaker 1: out of wear spurs. Probably wore spurs over sneakers, didn't
- 46:41Speaker 1: wear a moment. Oh my god. I wish they had
- 46:44Speaker 1: cut them. And there's no time for it. But then
- 46:46Speaker 1: you should have cut to her being injured from the spurs,
- 46:49Speaker 1: all right, So Judy has no time for this bullshit.
- 46:51Speaker 1: Heather is fired. Elliott finally thanks Kelso and and really
- 46:57Speaker 1: heart in a heartfelt way, gives him um appreciation for
- 47:02Speaker 1: all the knowledge hours and gives him um the dog too. Tankers.
- 47:09Speaker 1: I don't know if I know, because that was a
- 47:12Speaker 1: pretty well trained dog. I don't know if Tankers was
- 47:14Speaker 1: really well trained. Oh really, Oh my gosh, Yeah you
- 47:17Speaker 1: don't remember Tankers, dude. I remember Tankers, and I think
- 47:20Speaker 1: it was Danny Roses dog, right, yes, but I don't
- 47:22Speaker 1: remember if he was that well as well trained as
- 47:25Speaker 1: this dog needed to be. I don't know because this
- 47:29Speaker 1: dog was great. Anyway, Um, Elliott has the idea, Hey,
- 47:34Speaker 1: you've lost Baxter. This this this dog's owner has just passed.
- 47:38Speaker 1: Maybe you she she should probably check with the family first,
- 47:42Speaker 1: but anyway, she gives the dogs kill. Um okay, So,
- 47:47Speaker 1: just as you mentioned, I laughed out loud when Sarah
- 47:50Speaker 1: says the main reason that she stopped camping was Blair
- 47:53Speaker 1: Witch Project. And Sarah's timing on this is just Chef's kids.
- 47:59Speaker 1: She kind of gets lost and she goes that, and
- 48:02Speaker 1: the timing wolf mounted me. She is so fucking funny.
- 48:13Speaker 1: Her timing is don't don't you ever don't you ever
- 48:18Speaker 1: not say that, Sarah Chalk isn't fucking hilarious. It's there's
- 48:23Speaker 1: there are listen. Yeah, you cannot say that. You cannot
- 48:27Speaker 1: say that. And then um, I I got to play
- 48:30Speaker 1: thirty seconds since I'm allowed to of this beautiful Bret
- 48:34Speaker 1: Dennan song that ends the episode. Do you remember how
- 48:36Speaker 1: you got that song? I know Bret Dennan, That's how
- 48:39Speaker 1: I got the song. No, this is what happened. We
- 48:41Speaker 1: all we both know Brett Dennon, and you were looking
- 48:43Speaker 1: for a song at the end of the show. Go ahead,
- 48:46Speaker 1: And I said to you, Oh, you're gonna take credit
- 48:49Speaker 1: for this. I definitely am taking credit for this because
- 48:51Speaker 1: I was the one that said you should play this ship,
- 48:53Speaker 1: all right, and you said, I'll give it to you.
- 48:55Speaker 1: This is Donald's idea. And you were like, that's a
- 48:57Speaker 1: fucking good idea. You were like, that's a fucking good idea.
- 49:01Speaker 1: We'll talk about it. That's a good idea, John, And
- 49:04Speaker 1: I was like, yeah, I know, it's a good idea,
- 49:08Speaker 1: and you were like, Yo, you know what I'm gonna
- 49:10Speaker 1: put there Ain't no reasoning and talking about ten seconds.
- 49:18Speaker 1: I can't explain if we talk about this way we
- 49:21Speaker 1: do it every day. Breezes on the podium speaking the Saints.
- 49:27Speaker 1: Probably I wish I could play that whole thing. But
- 49:29Speaker 1: that's thirty seconds of Ain't No reason by Brett den In.
- 49:31Speaker 1: A fucking amazing song and an amazing artist, by the way.
- 49:34Speaker 1: He just put out new He just put out new music.
- 49:37Speaker 1: And uh, you ever hear him, and you ever to
- 49:39Speaker 1: hear him and Rad and do Simon and Garfuncle. No,
- 49:42Speaker 1: it's pretty good, so talented, and he's like, you know
- 49:46Speaker 1: he he goes see him if he ever comes to
- 49:48Speaker 1: your city or town. Brett Den and d and then I, uh, okay,
- 49:53Speaker 1: we gotta get to the caller. She's a racist thief, Heather,
- 49:57Speaker 1: we learned. We learn that she's a racist. Last thing
- 50:00Speaker 1: about Simon and Garfolk, since we talked to since I
- 50:01Speaker 1: said it, I had no idea that they wrote like
- 50:05Speaker 1: a bridge. Well, Paul Simon ra that I had no clue.
- 50:12Speaker 1: I had no clue the fire. I knew that my
- 50:17Speaker 1: kids like dad, could you play Hello Darkness? Like Rocco
- 50:20Speaker 1: loves that ship. That shit's weird to me. And then
- 50:22Speaker 1: we end with Laverne in a coma which is a
- 50:24Speaker 1: dot dot dot to be continued, and that really cool
- 50:27Speaker 1: last shot we mentioned. All right, taking a break, We'll
- 50:29Speaker 1: be right back, and we're back. We'll tank forever. Okay,
- 50:48Speaker 1: let's bring in a collar, Joel, We got a collar.
- 50:54Speaker 1: He talks somehow dues, you know, like a botta maybe
- 51:01Speaker 1: talking about the episode. So come on, lady, the gentleman,
- 51:09Speaker 1: give it up. Under laws, Lindsay, you are a part
- 51:21Speaker 1: all right? Coming out? You are parked right, Lindsay, because
- 51:23Speaker 1: it does look like you're in the driver's seat of
- 51:25Speaker 1: your car. We don't want you to get hurt. Yeah,
- 51:26Speaker 1: I am parked I wanted to make sure that I
- 51:28Speaker 1: would be able to hear you guys, and so I
- 51:30Speaker 1: figured I would pull over and go ahead, and you'll
- 51:33Speaker 1: do this today. Well, thank you so much for coming
- 51:35Speaker 1: on the show. We really appreciate it. We love um
- 51:38Speaker 1: having people come on, especially people who are saying you
- 51:40Speaker 1: seem so far so saying, well, I'm not driving it
- 51:44Speaker 1: a second time. Oh, I'm sorry. I knew the name
- 51:47Speaker 1: sounded familiar. I was like, I didn't remember you. Tell
- 51:49Speaker 1: me why, Joe, tell me why remind us because we
- 51:51Speaker 1: do talk to a lot of people why on the show?
- 51:54Speaker 1: I know why? Why am I correct in saying that
- 51:58Speaker 1: your brother adopted two children black kids, and he was
- 52:06Speaker 1: on the show asked with his wife asking about I
- 52:11Speaker 1: was on with him? It was no, So this was
- 52:12Speaker 1: my brother in law and I were on he we
- 52:15Speaker 1: just picture life because they were going to be raising
- 52:18Speaker 1: two kids from foster care. They were raising two kids
- 52:21Speaker 1: in foster care who are very close to age, so
- 52:24Speaker 1: they talked about twins. So I was on the episode
- 52:26Speaker 1: with She's serano, right, that's what it was, But I
- 52:29Speaker 1: know it was I know was that memory Donald? But
- 52:31Speaker 1: she sends me updates on what's going on with her
- 52:35Speaker 1: brother in law and the kids. And they at the
- 52:38Speaker 1: time they were foster kids. Now they are both fully adopting.
- 52:42Speaker 1: Her story, bro let her fat halfway there, tell the story.
- 52:48Speaker 1: What's been happening. Yeah, So they've been continuing to foster
- 52:51Speaker 1: these kids. They started fostering them. They got them both
- 52:55Speaker 1: in their home the same day in twenty twenty, in
- 52:58Speaker 1: August twenty twenty, and we were on April of twenty
- 53:02Speaker 1: twenty one. Um. And so they've continued to grow into
- 53:07Speaker 1: adorable toddlers. And on April twenty first, Yeah, April twenty first,
- 53:12Speaker 1: of Maya's adoption was finalized. Um. And Little Jay's adoption
- 53:18Speaker 1: Shippy finalize sometime later this year. Oh my god, congratulations
- 53:22Speaker 1: and thunder supplause. Oh my god. She's showing us a picture.
- 53:26Speaker 1: What view the children? And how's it going? Um? Um,
- 53:31Speaker 1: how's it? I mean, obviously it's going well, but I mean,
- 53:33Speaker 1: um uh, the kids adjusting well, as you know. It's
- 53:39Speaker 1: telling you this is all that they've known. Really, they
- 53:42Speaker 1: both came into foster care pretty early in age. UM.
- 53:47Speaker 1: But we also thought this was kind of a perfect
- 53:48Speaker 1: month to talk about this because this is actually national
- 53:52Speaker 1: Foster Care Month. Right, don't you work in the foster
- 53:55Speaker 1: care system in some way as well to it? Yeah, yeah, stoner,
- 53:58Speaker 1: you have a really good memory, right, do what I'm
- 54:00Speaker 1: telling you to. Weed doesn't make me forget shit like that,
- 54:03Speaker 1: It makes me forget. Please don't curse in front of
- 54:05Speaker 1: our guests. Um, yes, tell us about us. Stop it.
- 54:11Speaker 1: Tell us about foster care adoption months that what was
- 54:15Speaker 1: it called? Sorry, yeah, it's it's National Foster Care Month.
- 54:18Speaker 1: And so this is a month again to just really
- 54:21Speaker 1: raise awareness about foster care and the need. And they're
- 54:25Speaker 1: on average four hundred thousand kids in foster care across
- 54:28Speaker 1: the US and so, um, there's just a high need,
- 54:32Speaker 1: especially at a lot of states right now, there's a
- 54:34Speaker 1: really high need for people to foster teenagers. I know
- 54:39Speaker 1: in the state of Texas, a lot of people there's
- 54:41Speaker 1: kids that are sleeping in the offices right now. I
- 54:44Speaker 1: know in the state of Georgia there is a really
- 54:46Speaker 1: high need. Kids are having to either go to group
- 54:49Speaker 1: homes or even go to group homes that are significantly
- 54:52Speaker 1: farther away than the county that they actually came into
- 54:54Speaker 1: foster care in. So we have a huge need for
- 54:57Speaker 1: people to foster teenagers and they get a little bit
- 55:00Speaker 1: of a bad rap um, but they really just want
- 55:03Speaker 1: people who are willing to work with them. And it
- 55:05Speaker 1: is this because the is this because um um people
- 55:09Speaker 1: are more willing or or interested in fostering babies or
- 55:14Speaker 1: small children. Yes, yeah, yeah, but it's also tougher to
- 55:20Speaker 1: you know, people look at it as it's tougher to
- 55:23Speaker 1: adopt teenagers because they come with all of this baggage,
- 55:26Speaker 1: is right, They've grown up in a system that pretty
- 55:29Speaker 1: much could also break them as well as you know,
- 55:33Speaker 1: it's not you don't hear a lot of stories of
- 55:35Speaker 1: kids coming on black. I was uplifted by a beer,
- 55:38Speaker 1: you know what I mean. And so, but you can
- 55:42Speaker 1: also change someone's life. Yeah, that's what I'm about to say, Lindsay.
- 55:46Speaker 1: I completely hear where you're coming from, because you could
- 55:48Speaker 1: really change somebody's life now, Lindsay, I'm sure people who
- 55:52Speaker 1: are considering it, especially a teenager, they might go, okay,
- 55:56Speaker 1: but what if it's debacle, what if it's just a
- 55:58Speaker 1: bad fit, what if it's we're oil and water. I
- 56:01Speaker 1: would feel horrible returning the child. I mean, explain to
- 56:05Speaker 1: people who who are listening, who might be open to
- 56:09Speaker 1: the idea but worried about you know, sometimes it's just
- 56:11Speaker 1: not a good fit. Like what happens then, Yeah, And
- 56:14Speaker 1: that's one of those things where again we try to
- 56:16Speaker 1: put supports in as much as we can, and we
- 56:20Speaker 1: try to give foster parents as much information ahead of
- 56:23Speaker 1: time about this child. Sometimes there are those options of
- 56:26Speaker 1: trying to do some transitional visits, especially if people are
- 56:29Speaker 1: interested in adopting teens. We absolutely it is a big
- 56:32Speaker 1: matching process. And so I have a couple different families
- 56:35Speaker 1: that I've helped kind of do that matching process. That
- 56:38Speaker 1: we had one that adoptions case marriage and I were
- 56:44Speaker 1: both able to look. I was able to look at
- 56:45Speaker 1: the family that I was working with that was interested
- 56:47Speaker 1: in adopting, and she was able to look at some
- 56:49Speaker 1: of her children who were in need of placements, and
- 56:51Speaker 1: we kind of talked about their personalities and we were
- 56:54Speaker 1: able to match a kid and a family that it
- 56:58Speaker 1: was the best thing ever when he told his key manager,
- 57:00Speaker 1: oh my gosh, this is my family. They're the same
- 57:03Speaker 1: type of weird it's me. Oh, I think that's great.
- 57:07Speaker 1: So you're just so so for for for those of
- 57:09Speaker 1: us who don't know much about this, you're not just
- 57:11Speaker 1: dropping a teenage rof at someone's house. You're there, they're
- 57:14Speaker 1: they're they're testing the waters. Maybe they go bowling together,
- 57:17Speaker 1: or they go to the movies together, that kind of thing.
- 57:19Speaker 1: Or if you're fostering, it can be a little bit
- 57:22Speaker 1: more dropping off at the house and you kind of
- 57:24Speaker 1: just kind of roll with it. If you are interested
- 57:26Speaker 1: in specifically adopting a team who is already legally free
- 57:29Speaker 1: for adoption and just needs a home, which there are
- 57:32Speaker 1: a huge amount of those in every state. UM there's
- 57:35Speaker 1: websites called There's America's Kids Belong, um, and then each
- 57:39Speaker 1: state has the one of theirs, So like I live
- 57:41Speaker 1: in Georgia and it's Georgia's Kids Belong And you can
- 57:44Speaker 1: go on those websites and look and see what kids
- 57:46Speaker 1: are available for adoption and what's a families approved for
- 57:49Speaker 1: that they can inquire about um different kids, and um
- 57:54Speaker 1: our agencies will then look and say, Okay, this family
- 57:57Speaker 1: said that they're open to this type of background and
- 57:59Speaker 1: the type of needs, and you oh, they hey this kid, Yeah,
- 58:01Speaker 1: this kid has this need and this need, but that
- 58:03Speaker 1: family is open to it. And then we kind of
- 58:04Speaker 1: looked too and like our families have adoption flyer. So
- 58:07Speaker 1: they explain it's all about who those families are, and
- 58:09Speaker 1: then their case managers, the kids case managers can look
- 58:12Speaker 1: and say, oh, yeah, my kid is really interested in
- 58:14Speaker 1: this and my kid and I've had one sewer. I've
- 58:17Speaker 1: had families where it's like, oh, they're a single family
- 58:19Speaker 1: without any kids, and you know, actually, this kid would
- 58:21Speaker 1: probably really benefit from that because he needs more of
- 58:23Speaker 1: that one I want attention. Or I've had families too
- 58:25Speaker 1: where they're like, we, actually, they could really benefit from
- 58:28Speaker 1: having additional siblings. They've already been around a bunch of
- 58:31Speaker 1: kids they would love to be around more. I've had
- 58:33Speaker 1: ones where it's the kids too, like they maybe really
- 58:36Speaker 1: love video games and that's what the parents love, or
- 58:38Speaker 1: they love hiking and that's what the parents love doing.
- 58:40Speaker 1: So trying to find some of those matching and then too,
- 58:44Speaker 1: when it's an adopt it's the potential adoption. There are
- 58:46Speaker 1: those we call them transitional visits, and so they can
- 58:48Speaker 1: do visits where it's at first like a two hour
- 58:52Speaker 1: meeting and then an extended one, and then they do
- 58:54Speaker 1: a couple of visits where the kid might go hang
- 58:56Speaker 1: out at their house to be able to get to
- 58:58Speaker 1: know them better overnight visits. So it is a transitional
- 59:01Speaker 1: theory that can be anywhere from like thirty to sixty
- 59:04Speaker 1: days to help everyone feel comfortable and to make sure
- 59:07Speaker 1: that yeah, this is a good fit and that this
- 59:09Speaker 1: will work out. Well, yeah, I think that's smart. Now
- 59:19Speaker 1: do you know, UM, can you tell anyone who's interested
- 59:22Speaker 1: and curious like a really good website to go to
- 59:24Speaker 1: where they where they can get more information. Yeah? Yeah,
- 59:28Speaker 1: So again, depending on your state, just google if it's
- 59:32Speaker 1: like again, if you're Georgia, Georgia Kids Belong. If you're
- 59:36Speaker 1: a California, I'm sure there's a California Kids Belong or
- 59:39Speaker 1: America's Kids Belong. Um, just google that you'll find the
- 59:42Speaker 1: main website UM, and then I highly recommend you there.
- 59:46Speaker 1: The thing I love about social media is that there
- 59:48Speaker 1: really are a ton of families out there on social
- 59:51Speaker 1: media who are doing this. UM. One of my favorite
- 59:54Speaker 1: people to follow, it's she's at Family and Coffee. And
- 59:58Speaker 1: what I love about hearing from her experiences. She was
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: in foster care herself when she grew up. Then she
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: took guardianship of some of her siblings and she is
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: currently not only does she is she a child protective
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: Services worker in San Diego, but she also is fostering.
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: She's fostering one teenager, has guardianship of another teenager adopted.
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: Another teenager has a adopted a younger child that's I
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: think three ish now as biological could have her own
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: and is helping with. One of the teenagers has a
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: son of her own, so they are also grandparents at
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: the age of like twenty eight. Oh my goodness. So
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: there are a bunch of options that you can do,
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: that you can that you can be. Also, you don't
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: necessary if adopting isn't necessarily the road you want to go,
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: or fosters and necessarily the road you want to go,
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: there are other things. There are other options out there
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: to be a positive influence in someone's life. Absolutely, And
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: there's a national it's called National Angels, but a lot
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: of different states have states or cities have their own
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: chapters of them. Atlanta recently got a chapter last year,
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: Atlanta Angels. And what they're really great about is that
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: they will partner volunteers with families that are fostering or adopting,
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: and they kind of come in and are like monthly.
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: They just love on the family. They bring them goodies,
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: they can check in with them. I've had this program.
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: I've had foster parents to be able to go for
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: a run on their own while someone comes in that
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: hangs out with the kids. With this program too, they
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: do the full background checks so that those families don't
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: have to worry about it, but they get extra support system.
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: And so that's a huge need in your areas if
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: you want to be a support to foster families and
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: adoptive families. And then National Angels also does a mentorship program,
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: so if you are interested in mentoring a foster youth,
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: the I think it's eleven to eighteen or even older
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: for some of our kids who are still in care
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: after eighteen. That's a great way again too that they
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: and they are all about pairing up to They don't
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: want to just stick you with a random team, but
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: they want to see, hey, maybe you have the similarities
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: as this common background as a teenager. That's so smart, Like, oh,
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: this team is obsessed with video games. Oh my god,
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: that's that's my husband's favorite video game. You know, like
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: little little things like that, like finding ways to match
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: them up. I love that. Um. Wow, you know, my
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: sister was adopted. Um, but she was adopted when she
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: was a month old. UM, so it was I only
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: mentioned it because it was my parents didn't have to
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: face some of the some of the issues that people
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: have to face when a child's been living on earth
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: and living a tough life for a while. Not to
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: say that issues don't come up with adopted children of
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: of of any age, but but she turned out to
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: be a pretty amazing woman. And that's I like that
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: you brought that up to ZAC because it is one
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: of those things that sometimes it's easy for people to think, like, oh,
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: if I adopt an infinite birth or I have I've
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: adopted a child that's really young, there's not going to
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: be any trauma and not identity identity issues happen, right,
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: lindsay identity issues happen, of course, of course, because my
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: sister was was Mexican American and was brought into a
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: suburban Jewish home and named Shoshana, and I think really had,
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: like Donald said, identity issues, um, as she went through
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: school and also had learning disabilities which can which can
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: be common. I know a lot about this because my
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: parents are both both my mother and stepfather are psychologists
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: who really interesting to have her on. My stepfather and
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: mother treated um for years. They're both um semi retired now,
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: but treated for years adopted children, adopted parents, birth mothers.
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: This was an area of their expertise and interest. So
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: I do know a lot about it, and and I'm
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: just so glad that that you're on here talking about
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: it because I think there's you know, we have so
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: many listeners all across the globe, and I'm sure there
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: are people that are like intrigued, but they don't you know,
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: this might be the thing that makes them go, let's
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: let's let's look into it. Let's let's see let's you know,
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: let's let's go to that website. So I really appreciate
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: you coming on and talking about it, especially since this
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: has gone so well. The initial story that you came
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: to us with. It turns out it looks like a beautiful,
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: happy family. And they too. We talked a lot about
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: the idea that because they're so close in age, it's
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: gonna be a lot like twins, and it's been really
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: fun to see they very much so. They are best friends.
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: They you donald had talked a lot about and Shay
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: had talked about kind of like be prepared. They're gonna
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: gig up on y'all one day. And it's been really
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: fun to just see how much best friends they are.
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: My sister sent me a video to just like about
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: an hour ago, the two of them playing Peekaboo with
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: each other and just cracking each each other up, or like,
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: my niece just switched over to um the Big Girl Dad,
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: and my sister's like, the only problem is she will.
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: They're still sharing a room, and she will if she
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: wakes up early in the morning, she will go over
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: and she'll wake up her brother and she'll bring him
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: books and toys to playlist. So sweet. Help him escape,
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: help him escape the crib. There was some viral video
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: that was of a of a of a todd They're
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: helping helping a baby or something like that escape the crib.
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: It was very funny. Well and they we I suddenly
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: got to do a trip to Disneyland too. I know
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: how much Donald was. Yes, they are obsessed with the
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: It's a Small World song. Oh God, I don't like
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: I don't like that ride. I skipped that ride. When
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: I go there. Donald doesn't escape anything. Um that was
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: the first ride we had to go on when we
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: went with my daughter with little kids. I understand you
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: gotta do it, but Donald will go on that ship
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: as an adult with no kids with him. Well, Donald
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: doesn't skip a ride. Yes, my nephew's obsessed with cars too,
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: so we had to go take him on Octopia. And
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: that was my brother in law's one request from that day.
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: He's such an easy Chell guy, but he was like,
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: I have to be the one that takes a little
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: Jay on the Octopia. Well, we have a really great photo.
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: Jay started screaming crying when they tried to get him
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: on the ride. And then of course as he's turning
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: around and coming back from the ride, heath and in
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: such a happy mood. And then it was him screaming
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: and crying when um he asked my mom, he's like
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: mark car Marker And my mom was like, sorry, we're
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: all done today. So is there a way, um Joelle
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: for us to if she's willing to share, um that
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: one of those pictures with our with our viewers, where
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: can we put it if they're willing to share the photo?
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: I mean we could just put it on Yeah, I'm
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: say you could post it in your stories, right, yeah, yeah,
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: put tag tag me and Donald in that in that
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: first picture, Um, it's a beautiful thing. And then you guys,
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: if you're curious, you can look at um on Instagram
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: on pictures were tagged in, UM, do you have any questions? So?
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: I think I think we've I think we've asked her
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: a lot of questions. Um, we've gone so long today,
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: but maybe you do. I don't know, lindsay, well, I did.
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: I did take some prep, so I had a couple
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: of different ones, but I'll ask you guys, let's just
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: do one since we've gone so long today, go ahead totally.
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: And the one I wanted to ask you guys is
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: I've loved hearing you guys talk about what you really brought,
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: like what you took away from doing eight nine years
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: of Scrubs and all the things you learned from the
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: friendships that how you've talked with that was like your
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: film school. What do you guys think that so far
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: you've done a podcast now for two years. What do
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: you guys think you're gonna take away from the podcast.
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: That's such a great question. How Like, I gotta be
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: honest with you. A lot of it is positive stuff
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: and like, uh, reassurance and um, I never thought I
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: had a voice for radio. I'm pretty sure I got
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: a voice for radio now, you know what I mean? Yeah,
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: you do, baby, thank you, thank you very much. Um.
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: And so I uh that that's one thing. The other
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: thing that I'm gonna that I know I'm gonna take
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: away from this is I'm not taking this for granted.
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: I'm enjoying every moment of this. And even on the
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: days when I do not want to do the podcast,
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: there are days where it's it's we do it. We
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: record on Thursdays where it's you know, eleven o'clock, and
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: I'm like, I really want to do so many other
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: things right now, and then we wind up doing the
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: podcast and I have so much fun. I'm the same
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: way I would I would say the same way. Some
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: days you're just like, oh, I'm just not in the
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: mood to do it today, And then I watched the
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: episode and I smile, and then I get with these
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: guys and I just it's like it's like therapy, you
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: know how there's like laughing therapy where people go literally
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: sit in a circle and go It's like that I
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: know that guaranteed, I'm going to hang up off this
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: zoom happier and having laughed for an hour and a half.
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: So I'm not going to take that for granted. I
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: took Scrubs for granted. I thought it. I thought that work,
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: that type of work, or that level of work would
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: be forever, And it's not necessarily forever forever. Well, that's
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: one thing that is we all know this, and also
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: we just um we we we you know, the idea
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: was initially just me and him talking, and this idea
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: of the friendships we've made with Daniel and Joel and
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: and how much they bring to the show, you honor
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: me and and and just everything about it. It's it's
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: it's so fun, it's magical. It's it started during the pandemic. Um,
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: we don't we still don't figure out what we're gonna
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: do after we have all sorts of ideas. The latest
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: is a rewatched podcast of Different Strokes. Well, and I
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: had to tell you guys too, really it has and
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: I know you've heard this from a ton of people,
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: but it really was a gait. I started listening to
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: this almost right away. I even though I had roommates,
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: neither one of them was like is slighting with me
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: those first few weeks of the pandemic. My birthday was
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: early in the pandemic when it started, and so like
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: this was something to look forward to, like every week,
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: and when you guys were doing it twice a week,
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: it was like if I had to do documentation or
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: something that I didn't necessarily love doing a part of
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: my job, I wouldn't be listening to that. It was
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: like guarantee if I woke up on a Tuesday or
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: Thursday morning, and now we came up on a Tuesday morning,
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: I know that I have that to look forward to.
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: You're very sweet, Thank you and and and to all
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: of you listeners, thank you. We we don't say it enough.
