Mass Spectrometry and Process Chromatography: Quadrupole, Time-of-Flight, Orbitrap, Process Gas Chromatographs (PGCs) on Plant Streams, and BTU/Composition Custody Analysers
In laboratories and chemical plants alike, two analytical titans rule chemical identification and fiscal metering: Mass Spectrometry, which weighs gas-phase ions in electric and magnetic fields, and Chromatography, which separates mixtures by partitioning molecules between a moving fluid and a stationary phase. We build both from first principles—from Mathieu equations, reflectrons, and Orbitraps to van Deemter curves, C6+ backflush valves, and pipeline Wobbe Index custody transfer.
