- 0:00Speaker 1: Fly from Midtown Manhattan. Here comes the Mark Simone Show
- 0:05Speaker 1: on seven to ten.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Wr Hey, it's Monday. We'll give you the inside story
- 0:12Speaker 2: and a lot of stuff. We'll give you all the
- 0:13Speaker 2: latest Iran, Crazy Mom, Dannie, Tom Holman, Cash Betel, the
- 0:19Speaker 2: Pope and the White House correspondents, Dinner coming up this week,
- 0:23Speaker 2: and a whole lot more to get to. So Iran,
- 0:27Speaker 2: Let's just explain what's really going on here? Why the
- 0:31Speaker 2: mixed signals. The strait is open, the strait is closed,
- 0:36Speaker 2: the war is over, the war is on. They agree
- 0:39Speaker 2: to all our demands, they don't agree to all. Here's
- 0:41Speaker 2: what's really going on. There are two factions now. Iran
- 0:45Speaker 2: is in the middle of a bit of a civil war.
- 0:46Speaker 2: There are two factions. There's the political leadership that we
- 0:50Speaker 2: are negotiating with, and those negotiations will continue today Pakistan Islamabad.
- 0:57Speaker 2: The American team led by Wikoff and Jared back on
- 1:01Speaker 2: a plane to Pakistan as we speak. They'll be negotiating there.
- 1:05Speaker 2: Here's the problem. We're negotiating with the leadership, the political leadership. However,
- 1:11Speaker 2: there's another faction, and that's the Republican Guard, the real
- 1:16Speaker 2: hardliner military. There's a regular army, and there's a Republican
- 1:20Speaker 2: Guard that's the vicious hardliner killer troops. They are in
- 1:27Speaker 2: control of the weapons, they're in control of that stuff.
- 1:29Speaker 2: So they're still fighting while the political leadership is trying
- 1:33Speaker 2: to settle. Now this will have to get worked out
- 1:36Speaker 2: among the two factions in Iran. Who's really who or
- 1:41Speaker 2: we will have to work with the leadership of Iran
- 1:43Speaker 2: and help kill off that Republican Guard. The straight the
- 1:47Speaker 2: blockade was very, very successful. Not a single ship got
- 1:51Speaker 2: through that blockade. One Iranian ship tried to get through
- 1:55Speaker 2: that blockade. We fired on it immediately, the first few
- 1:58Speaker 2: shots completely, just able to took out the engine. We
- 2:02Speaker 2: then seized the ship and took it. Ran going nuts
- 2:06Speaker 2: saying it's international piracy or whatever they were claiming, armed
- 2:09Speaker 2: piracy they claim. But the blockade is absolutely holding. What
- 2:16Speaker 2: Iran has left, We've taken out almost all of their military,
- 2:19Speaker 2: have taken out their navy, We've taken out their air force,
- 2:22Speaker 2: We've taken out most of their offense. All they have
- 2:25Speaker 2: left to screw up the straits with or what are
- 2:27Speaker 2: called mosquito the mosquito fleet. They're called mosquito boats. They're little,
- 2:31Speaker 2: tiny boats loaded with explosives along the coast. They'll come
- 2:36Speaker 2: out of a cave or they'll come out of a
- 2:38Speaker 2: hiding place. And these little mosquito boats filled with explosives
- 2:42Speaker 2: are quite annoying. They can't really do a lot of damage,
- 2:46Speaker 2: but they can go hit a ship, blow a hole
- 2:49Speaker 2: in it, or not really sink a ship. But the
- 2:51Speaker 2: little mosquito boats are annoying enough to it's not so
- 2:55Speaker 2: much scaring the tankers, it's scaring the insurance company right now.
- 3:00Speaker 2: If nothing goes through the strait of Hermose, it's because
- 3:03Speaker 2: of the insurance company, which is mostly Lloyd's of London.
- 3:07Speaker 2: The tankers can't move unless they have insurance. You don't
- 3:10Speaker 2: want to lose the tanker. It's millions and millions and
- 3:13Speaker 2: millions of dollars. So if Lloyd's won't okay the insurance,
- 3:18Speaker 2: they don't move in right now with these little annoying
- 3:21Speaker 2: mosquito boats, Lloyd's is holding up assurance on most of
- 3:24Speaker 2: those tankers. So that's the only reason it's stopped. If
- 3:26Speaker 2: we have to close the strait again, totally blockade it
- 3:29Speaker 2: and stop it, it's actually pretty good for us. It's
- 3:34Speaker 2: very bad for Europe. We don't need the straight of
- 3:37Speaker 2: Horror moves. We don't take any oil from there. We
- 3:39Speaker 2: don't need that oil, we don't use it. But Europe
- 3:42Speaker 2: depends on it, and China heavily depends on that oil.
- 3:46Speaker 2: So as long as the Strait is closed, we're doing well.
- 3:49Speaker 2: China is in a problem. They're running out of oil
- 3:53Speaker 2: and Europe's in a serious situation because they're heavily dependent
- 3:56Speaker 2: on that oil. In fact, with the blockade that we've
- 4:00Speaker 2: had and the problems in the Strait the last few weeks,
- 4:02Speaker 2: Europe is just about out of jet fuel. They got
- 4:06Speaker 2: like five weeks of jet fuel left, which might stop
- 4:09Speaker 2: air travel over there, so that kind of stuff. Now
- 4:13Speaker 2: we have more oil. We're the biggest oil supplier on Earth.
- 4:17Speaker 2: We make more oil every day than Saudi Arabia than anybody,
- 4:21Speaker 2: so we can supply the whole world. They don't want
- 4:24Speaker 2: to do it, but they would have to start buying
- 4:26Speaker 2: us oil. The Europe could do that, China could do that.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Now here's the other problem. Because of all this, the
- 4:32Speaker 2: European Union is in huge financial crisis at the moment.
- 4:37Speaker 2: They need about forty or fifty billion to keep going.
- 4:40Speaker 2: They're on the verge of collapse. They're going to probably
- 4:43Speaker 2: come to the US and beg for money, beg for
- 4:46Speaker 2: a quick loan the European Union to keep going. We'll
- 4:51Speaker 2: probably give it to him, because if we don't give
- 4:53Speaker 2: it to them, they'll go to China and try to
- 4:54Speaker 2: get the money from them. That kind of alliance we
- 4:58Speaker 2: don't really need, so we'll probably end up having a
- 5:00Speaker 2: finance them through this crisis. So once this is settled again,
- 5:05Speaker 2: the political leadership of Iran, that's who we're negotiating with,
- 5:07Speaker 2: they'll have to somehow with our help, get the Republican
- 5:12Speaker 2: Guard in line. They're the only ones keeping this war going.
- 5:16Speaker 2: So we'll see how that goes. And then if it's settled,
- 5:21Speaker 2: if it ends, all that's left is collecting the nuclear material.
- 5:26Speaker 2: It's stored in a number of places. Now. One of
- 5:29Speaker 2: the problems a lot of that nuclear material is in
- 5:32Speaker 2: those nuclear reactors that we bombed and blew up months ago.
- 5:37Speaker 2: And it's basically that's why Trump calls it nuclear dust.
- 5:40Speaker 2: It's basically under that rubble, it's nuclear dust. Under the rubble,
- 5:44Speaker 2: it can be collected. It's a little difficult, it's like
- 5:47Speaker 2: an engineering feat to go through that rubble and get
- 5:50Speaker 2: the nuclear stuff out of there. And then there's a
- 5:52Speaker 2: couple other places we believe they're storing some nuclear material.
- 5:56Speaker 2: We'd have to go pick that up. And by the way,
- 5:59Speaker 2: we've done that before. We're very good at it. People
- 6:01Speaker 2: forget we did this in Libya when we beat Kadathi,
- 6:06Speaker 2: in fact that at that point it could be similar
- 6:09Speaker 2: to this. At a certain point Kadafi gave up, surrendered
- 6:13Speaker 2: and agreed to hand over all his nuclear material. We
- 6:17Speaker 2: had to go collect it, and it's the same thing
- 6:20Speaker 2: as the Iran nuclear material. But we were able to
- 6:22Speaker 2: do it. We got teams that know exactly how to
- 6:24Speaker 2: collect it, gather it safely, extract it, and then we
- 6:28Speaker 2: have a technology to destroy it. So we did that
- 6:32Speaker 2: in Libya, we'll do it here. By the way, once
- 6:36Speaker 2: this is all over, what we're going to do about
- 6:39Speaker 2: the Straits of Horn Moose is we're going to build
- 6:42Speaker 2: pipelines that should have been built a long time ago.
- 6:44Speaker 2: They'll be all kinds of pipelines built all over the
- 6:48Speaker 2: place near there, so we never ever again have to
- 6:50Speaker 2: depend on the Strait of or Moose. It's much easier
- 6:52Speaker 2: to move the oil through pipelines. We just never built them.
- 6:55Speaker 2: But the Saudis, most of the countries over there have
- 6:57Speaker 2: agreed to put in these pipelines, so oil will move
- 7:01Speaker 2: that way. There'll be multiple pipelines, will never again have
- 7:04Speaker 2: to depend on the straight of Horn Moose. Nobody will
- 7:06Speaker 2: ever be able to threaten closing it ever again. So
- 7:10Speaker 2: we'll get back to Iran. Mom Donnie, Crazy Mom Donnie,
- 7:16Speaker 2: and crazy NBC boy, they were really trying to help
- 7:18Speaker 2: out Mom Donnie. They gave him a huge, huge spot
- 7:22Speaker 2: on Meet the Press. They made him the star of
- 7:25Speaker 2: the show yesterday. I know I'm the only one that
- 7:27Speaker 2: still watches Meet the Press. I don't know why it
- 7:30Speaker 2: used to be a big, important show, very important show.
- 7:33Speaker 2: It's not. It's got a tiny but boy, were they
- 7:36Speaker 2: buttering up, Mom Donnie. You know, whenever a President Trump
- 7:39Speaker 2: or any Republican is on Meet the Press, they ask
- 7:41Speaker 2: him a question, then they pound away at him every
- 7:43Speaker 2: time he tries to answer thousand follow ups. They can
- 7:47Speaker 2: fact check them in every sentence. Every they go, Mom Donnie,
- 7:51Speaker 2: whatever he said, they just bowed and just grew reverential
- 7:56Speaker 2: towards this guy. It was pretty awful watching Meet the Press,
- 8:00Speaker 2: just awful the way they they've just kissed his ring.
- 8:04Speaker 2: Even when he said things. They got him on the billionaires,
- 8:08Speaker 2: and he's going after all these billionaires. He thinks it's
- 8:10Speaker 2: a good target. You know, you gotta remember one thing
- 8:12Speaker 2: about Mamdani kind of socialism. It's just symbolic. It's just talk.
- 8:16Speaker 2: It can't be reality. It'll free grocery stores. It sounds great.
- 8:20Speaker 2: There's no way on earth to actually execute that. It
- 8:22Speaker 2: can't be done. You will never see a Mamdani grocery
- 8:25Speaker 2: store as long as you live. It'll never happen. I
- 8:29Speaker 2: know he's got a location in Harlem. It's thirty million
- 8:34Speaker 2: to build it. Every major grocery store person, there's grocery
- 8:37Speaker 2: store chains all over they'll tell you it's normally one million,
- 8:41Speaker 2: two million to open a grocery store. He's talking thirty
- 8:44Speaker 2: they're also talking twenty twenty eight, twenty twenty nine. You'll
- 8:47Speaker 2: never see the grocery store. There'll never be one. So
- 8:49Speaker 2: he gets crazy with the symbolism with the billionaires. It
- 8:52Speaker 2: sounds awful. The billionaires. He even goes on Meet the
- 8:56Speaker 2: press and said, listen to this.
- 8:57Speaker 1: I don't think that we should have billionaires because frankly,
- 9:00Speaker 1: it is so much money in a moment of such inequality,
- 9:04Speaker 1: and ultimately, what we need more of is equality across
- 9:07Speaker 1: our city, and across our state and across our country.
- 9:09Speaker 1: And I look forward to work with everyone, including billionaires,
- 9:13Speaker 1: to make a city that is fairer for all of them.
- 9:15Speaker 2: Well let's repeat that again.
- 9:17Speaker 1: I don't think that we should have billionaires because, frankly,
- 9:20Speaker 1: it is so much money in a moment.
- 9:22Speaker 2: Well yeah, but it's not like it's not like somebody said, here,
- 9:30Speaker 2: here's five dollars for you, here's ten dollars for you,
- 9:33Speaker 2: here's a billion for you. That's inequality. These billionaires went
- 9:38Speaker 2: out and earned it on their own. They not only
- 9:40Speaker 2: went out and through sheer hard work and diligence and brains,
- 9:44Speaker 2: made a billion dollars. In the process, they created hundreds
- 9:48Speaker 2: of thousands of jobs. They usually, in fact, the only
- 9:51Speaker 2: way you really can become a billionaire provide a great service.
- 9:54Speaker 2: I mean, look at Jeff Bezos. Can imagine if this
- 9:57Speaker 2: guy was not allowed to do what he did, you'd
- 10:00Speaker 2: have no Amazon. How would you get anything. Let's say
- 10:05Speaker 2: all of a sudden, you wanted something, you'd have to
- 10:09Speaker 2: get dressed, go out. Let's say I wanted a book.
- 10:12Speaker 2: You know, I can go to Amazon downloaded right on
- 10:14Speaker 2: my kindle. Half a second later, there's the book. I
- 10:16Speaker 2: can read it right now. You know that you used
- 10:18Speaker 2: to have to leave your house. You had to walk
- 10:21Speaker 2: to Barnes and Noble. Like if you were here, you'd
- 10:23Speaker 2: have to go to sixty seventh in Broadway. That's like
- 10:27Speaker 2: twelve to fifteen blocks. I have to walk over there.
- 10:30Speaker 2: You have to look for the book. You'd have to
- 10:32Speaker 2: wait in line to pay for it. They'd put it
- 10:34Speaker 2: in a bag. You'd have to carry the book. Can
- 10:36Speaker 2: you imagine your kids today? You don't know how tough
- 10:39Speaker 2: we you had it. You had to go buy the book,
- 10:41Speaker 2: you had to carry it home. Let's say you went somewhere,
- 10:45Speaker 2: you were out to work, you were on the train,
- 10:46Speaker 2: you wanted to read your book. I forgot to bring it.
- 10:49Speaker 2: It's in the kindle. I got the book wherever I am.
- 10:51Speaker 2: So these guys provide tremendous services, and some of these
- 10:58Speaker 2: Henchwind guys, we don't know what the hell they ask
- 11:00Speaker 2: do for us. But I'm talking about what if there
- 11:04Speaker 2: was no Steve Jobs, we wouldn't even have this phone.
- 11:07Speaker 2: You'd be talking on a Palm Trio, you'd be talking
- 11:10Speaker 2: on a BlackBerry. So you need these billionaires, and again
- 11:16Speaker 2: you're talking about real discrimination.
- 11:18Speaker 1: I don't think that we should have billionaires because frankly,
- 11:21Speaker 1: it is so much money in a moment of.
- 11:23Speaker 2: Not only that, you wouldn't have democrats in office if
- 11:26Speaker 2: the billionaires fund them. That's where they get all their
- 11:28Speaker 2: money from. These billionaires. Now, there's a guy named Ken
- 11:31Speaker 2: Griffin who's a multi billionaire and he loves real estate,
- 11:37Speaker 2: buys a lot of real estate over there on Central
- 11:41Speaker 2: Park South. He bought an apartment I think was the
- 11:43Speaker 2: most expensive apartment at the time. He spent two hundred
- 11:47Speaker 2: and twenty million for this apartment, two hundred and twenty million.
- 11:53Speaker 2: They doesn't even live there. He lives in Florida. So
- 11:56Speaker 2: you're saying, oh, that's his New York apartment. Well, actually
- 12:00Speaker 2: it's his extra New York apartment because he also lives
- 12:02Speaker 2: at seven forty Park Avenue. That's the most prestigious building
- 12:07Speaker 2: in the world. Some of the biggest names on earth
- 12:09Speaker 2: have been turned down from living in that building. Toughest
- 12:11Speaker 2: co op board. And in that building he has two
- 12:13Speaker 2: apartments cut together that's about fifty sixty million. I guess
- 12:18Speaker 2: that's the real apartment for New York. But then he
- 12:20Speaker 2: has this one over here, and then the one in
- 12:23Speaker 2: Florida is another two hundred million. It sounds insane, insane.
- 12:26Speaker 2: This is like a billion dollars in real estate. Sounds crazy.
- 12:28Speaker 2: But that guy loves real estate, not a feeling deep down.
- 12:33Speaker 2: He's buying it as an investment. He knows it's going
- 12:35Speaker 2: to go way up in value. So a lot of
- 12:37Speaker 2: people think, Mom, Donnie, it's one thing to rail against
- 12:40Speaker 2: these billionaires. But for some reason, he's targeting this guy personally,
- 12:44Speaker 2: this Ken Griffin, and he made one of his viral
- 12:46Speaker 2: videos that's all over the place in front of Ken
- 12:50Speaker 2: Griffin's building on Central Park South pointing at it.
- 12:53Speaker 3: I'm thrilled to announce who's secured a peda tear tax,
- 12:56Speaker 3: the first in New York's history. This is an annual
- 12:58Speaker 3: fee on luxury properties where more than five million dollars
- 13:01Speaker 3: whose owners do not live full time in the city,
- 13:04Speaker 3: like for this penthouse, the Touch One CEO Ken Griffin
- 13:07Speaker 3: bought for two hundred and thirty eight million dollars.
- 13:10Speaker 2: Yeah, see, I don't know you're targeting an individually. The
- 13:13Speaker 2: mayor of New York. I mean, you don't have to
- 13:15Speaker 2: worry about Ken Griffin. He can take care of himself.
- 13:17Speaker 2: But to target a guy like that, it's pretty bad.
- 13:20Speaker 2: And this mom Donnie, not only will get nothing done
- 13:23Speaker 2: for anybody, you know. Whatever, these socialists come along to
- 13:25Speaker 2: help the working class, to help the poor, they always
- 13:28Speaker 2: get poor. There's less jobs, there's less money. You know,
- 13:32Speaker 2: you chase these Ken Griffins out of New York, you're
- 13:34Speaker 2: gonna lose most of the tax revenue and then everybody's
- 13:37Speaker 2: gonna suffer. This mom, Donnie, I think he screwed up
- 13:41Speaker 2: the New York Mets. You know, he goes to U
- 13:45Speaker 2: City Field and they got that mister Met and mister
- 13:49Speaker 2: Met hugs this the video. The video came out of
- 13:53Speaker 2: you know a lot of I met mister Met. He
- 13:55Speaker 2: shook my hand. People meet mister Met, they shake your hand,
- 14:00Speaker 2: slap you on the back. The Mamdani one, he hugs him,
- 14:03Speaker 2: He kisses him a little weird boy. He was really
- 14:06Speaker 2: into Mamdani. And I think it was Sid Rosenberg. He
- 14:11Speaker 2: was the one that started this. Put the thing up
- 14:13Speaker 2: and he said this is It went crazy and then
- 14:16Speaker 2: it went viral, and because it was a terrible thing,
- 14:20Speaker 2: this mister Met hugging, kissing Mamdani, and then since that happened,
- 14:25Speaker 2: they've lost eleven games in a row. So some people
- 14:28Speaker 2: think it's a real curse. Now, when was the last
- 14:30Speaker 2: time the Mets lost eleven games in a row. It's
- 14:32Speaker 2: like twenty five years ago, and it's one of the
- 14:36Speaker 2: worst losing streaks ever Ever since this mister Met hugged
- 14:39Speaker 2: and kissed Mamdani, they've lost eleven games in a row. Coincidence,
- 14:45Speaker 2: I don't think. So, that's a hell of a coincidence.
- 14:48Speaker 2: And there are these curses, you know, the Kennedy family.
- 14:52Speaker 2: Everybody said, wow, there's just cursed. There's so many deaths
- 14:54Speaker 2: and assassinations and accidents and driving off roads and skiing
- 14:59Speaker 2: into tree, so many people killed in the Kennedy family. Well,
- 15:02Speaker 2: it's always been believed there's a curse in the family,
- 15:05Speaker 2: and it goes you know, Joe Kennedy Senior was the
- 15:07Speaker 2: worst anti Semite in the world, used to say the
- 15:10Speaker 2: ugliest anti Semitic things in private, and in the like
- 15:14Speaker 2: nineteen twenties, he's on a big fancy cruise and there's
- 15:19Speaker 2: a Hasidic rabbi and a whole bunch of Orthodox Jews,
- 15:24Speaker 2: and Joe Kennedy goes crazy, yells and screams. He doesn't
- 15:27Speaker 2: want them allowed up on the deck. He wants them down,
- 15:30Speaker 2: hide them, call it. And the Rabbi got so I mean,
- 15:34Speaker 2: he was right, got so crazy at Joe Kennedy. He
- 15:36Speaker 2: put a curse on him in his family. It's a legend,
- 15:39Speaker 2: but I mean, look at the facts. Sounds like the
- 15:44Speaker 2: curse worked, and maybe this Mets curse will hold. We'll see,
- 15:47Speaker 2: We'll see, they've lost eleven games in a row. Hey,
- 15:50Speaker 2: we'll take some calls. Next. Eight hundred three to two,
- 15:52Speaker 2: one zero seven ten is the number, eight hundred three
- 15:56Speaker 2: to two, one zero seven ten.
