Latest / No Dribble / One More Sleep, Liz's New Love & Grand Final Predictions
Transcript
- 0:08Speaker 1: Well, if you hear a scream in the middle of
- 0:09Speaker 1: the night, it's more likely to be a Curlew than
- 0:12Speaker 1: a netball fan at the moment.
- 0:14Speaker 2: But who knows what this weekend will bring us. You
- 0:16Speaker 2: are on No Dribble strap in.
- 0:30Speaker 1: Hello, and welcome to the podcast where we talk about
- 0:33Speaker 1: netfil but we talk about so much more.
- 0:35Speaker 2: My name's Carolyn Spindel, I'm Capcox. Hello, lose ellous. One more,
- 0:41Speaker 2: one more sleep.
- 0:42Speaker 1: But I do have to say if you haven't listened
- 0:44Speaker 1: to Wednesday's episode, that Curlew reference won't make any sense
- 0:47Speaker 1: to you, So go back and listen to it.
- 0:49Speaker 2: But one more sleep until the Grand Final. Well, no
- 0:52Speaker 2: more sleeps until the real event happens. So let's be honest,
- 0:56Speaker 2: are you guys?
- 0:56Speaker 1: Car bloading? You gotta line your stomachs.
- 1:00Speaker 3: Fining the stomach. I'm going to take a Hydrault. I've
- 1:02Speaker 3: got the antiin flams ready, yep. Because whilst I'm working tomorrow,
- 1:07Speaker 3: I'm also going to make sure that there's a.
- 1:09Speaker 2: Few bubble strunt without dribblers tonight.
- 1:11Speaker 1: I'm so pleased to hear that because I think I
- 1:15Speaker 1: was the only one flying the drinking flag in penra thought, Liz,
- 1:19Speaker 1: you were drinking, weren't you?
- 1:22Speaker 2: One or two? One or two?
- 1:24Speaker 1: Anyway, we're fun without it. But yes, tonight's going to
- 1:28Speaker 1: be very fun.
- 1:29Speaker 2: Well, not as fun, but fun.
- 1:32Speaker 1: We'll test the theory one day her. Yeah, tonight's going
- 1:36Speaker 1: to be very fun. But what a weekend ahead.
- 1:39Speaker 2: Mattie, I know, I know, where do we start.
- 1:42Speaker 3: I just love what Melbourne did last year around the
- 1:46Speaker 3: whole thing, Like the energy in the state was amazing.
- 1:50Speaker 3: Everywhere you go there were netball people like having a
- 1:53Speaker 3: predetermined Grand Final is so so good just for the
- 1:57Speaker 3: whole energy around what I mean, what is a short
- 2:00Speaker 3: game right, Like we're a sixty minute game and it's
- 2:02Speaker 3: all over. So to have all the hype and the
- 2:05Speaker 3: fun and all that sort of stuff around it just
- 2:06Speaker 3: makes it so much more worthwhile to be in the
- 2:09Speaker 3: state for and the tend the game.
- 2:10Speaker 2: I can't wait.
- 2:11Speaker 1: Could not agree more, and they did. They honored that too.
- 2:14Speaker 1: Last year Melbourne, I thought, like the flags in the street,
- 2:17Speaker 1: up on the light poles and the front page of
- 2:19Speaker 1: the paper, it was really like Netbull is here and
- 2:25Speaker 1: is in town. And you know, I get that there
- 2:27Speaker 1: are fans who think we won the right to host
- 2:30Speaker 1: the Grand Final. But actually it's such a great event
- 2:32Speaker 1: and we will have now fans from all of the
- 2:36Speaker 1: comp coming, so it's very exciting. It's a Friday. Now,
- 2:41Speaker 1: what time are you landing, Catherine, landing.
- 2:45Speaker 3: At like eleven eleven thirty. I'm going to ditch my
- 2:48Speaker 3: staff and I'm going to come and help you set
- 2:52Speaker 3: up bits and pieces and get excited to see we have.
- 2:54Speaker 1: We have a lot of booty bags to put together
- 2:57Speaker 1: and a lot of prizes to be setting up, so
- 3:01Speaker 1: that'll be fun. I also have just landed in Melbourne,
- 3:04Speaker 1: being ten thirty on Friday morning. Liz, it's ten thirty
- 3:08Speaker 1: on Friday morning.
- 3:08Speaker 2: Have you landed? I have landed, and I am currently
- 3:11Speaker 2: at a media event, a pre Grand Final media event,
- 3:14Speaker 2: so I am very much in two places at once,
- 3:18Speaker 2: the captains and the coaches at that media event. Yes,
- 3:20Speaker 2: Captain's called Grand Final media event John Cane Arena. Oh
- 3:24Speaker 2: nice exciting. And then what are you doing Elizabeth on
- 3:26Speaker 2: the day? And then I will probably just have a
- 3:30Speaker 2: few sort of knitball meetings and then I will get excited,
- 3:34Speaker 2: might grab a bit of bite to eat with the
- 3:36Speaker 2: meat tray, and then I'll come and play with you guys,
- 3:39Speaker 2: and then Grand Final Day and the Big Lunch. I'm
- 3:42Speaker 2: at the Big Lunch from I think twelve thirty ish,
- 3:45Speaker 2: So it is such a great event. We get the
- 3:49Speaker 2: coaches from the Grand Final teams there, we get players,
- 3:53Speaker 2: not necessarily from the Grand Final teams, but lots of players.
- 3:57Speaker 2: Premier of Victoria will be there.
- 4:00Speaker 1: She's your seat buddy for Saturday night, isn't she.
- 4:02Speaker 2: I think so. Yeah. I haven't quite topped the meatro
- 4:04Speaker 2: that yet, but anyway, yeah, so I'll find him a chair.
- 4:09Speaker 2: He can come sit next to me. Oh thanks. Well,
- 4:11Speaker 2: last year I had my sister, She was my date
- 4:13Speaker 2: and she sat next to normal Plumber so she got
- 4:15Speaker 2: the normal plumber commentary of the game, which was outstanding.
- 4:18Speaker 2: So she had a great afternoon. So uh, look, I
- 4:22Speaker 2: wanted to come this year, you know she did. She
- 4:25Speaker 2: was very upset that my husband's coming. And the only
- 4:27Speaker 2: reason he can come is because it's school holidays and
- 4:30Speaker 2: there's no kids sports. So yes, he felt he could
- 4:33Speaker 2: turn up this year. But yes, it will be blood.
- 4:36Speaker 2: It cannot wait. It's a bit like Christmas.
- 4:37Speaker 3: You know.
- 4:38Speaker 2: You wake up on Grand Final Day when you're a player,
- 4:40Speaker 2: and all that week like you look at the players,
- 4:42Speaker 2: you know they've just woken up for a week, just
- 4:44Speaker 2: that little that moment of just oh my goodness. I'm like, so,
- 4:49Speaker 2: I'm you know, from the player's point of view, they'll
- 4:51Speaker 2: they'll sort of be trying to get some sleep tonight,
- 4:53Speaker 2: but one will sleep for them as well. But look before, guys,
- 4:56Speaker 2: before we get too much into the grand final stuff,
- 4:58Speaker 2: because I know we're here to talk about Grand Final.
- 5:00Speaker 2: Wee can netball. I've had something happened in my life.
- 5:03Speaker 2: It's changed my life. Oh I'm going to sit up straight. Yes,
- 5:09Speaker 2: do I need to put my glasses on? Wait? Hmm, well,
- 5:15Speaker 2: I got a lot of advice about this.
- 5:16Speaker 1: I'd put mine on, but it's not going to make
- 5:18Speaker 1: me look smarter. It's just going to make me look
- 5:20Speaker 1: like a rock star.
- 5:21Speaker 2: I'm going to put this on, so you do a fuzzy.
- 5:25Speaker 2: I bought a robovack. Welcome, Welcome, Welcome, Welcome. I must
- 5:30Speaker 2: say I was I was cynical, and then I spoke
- 5:36Speaker 2: to lots of people and I didn't speak to a
- 5:38Speaker 2: single person who said bad decision. So I bought it
- 5:42Speaker 2: for it normal. It works, but you have to give
- 5:47Speaker 2: it a name. So Ours. Catherine won't get this because
- 5:50Speaker 2: she never read Harry Potter. Ours is called Dobbie the house,
- 5:53Speaker 2: house Self, the house. So now we're talking about Dobby
- 5:55Speaker 2: like Dobbie is a member of the family. Dobbie has
- 5:58Speaker 2: been freckle out. It is like it is the best
- 6:03Speaker 2: thing I've ever got, But you get it, you get it.
- 6:06Speaker 2: And I don't like cleaning. But we've moved to not
- 6:08Speaker 2: have a cleaner because I felt like my children were
- 6:11Speaker 2: a little bit oh, you know, leanne or do this,
- 6:13Speaker 2: leanne or do that, and I'm like, no, no, you
- 6:15Speaker 2: guys can actually tidy up your own self and clean
- 6:17Speaker 2: up after yourself. So we've we've gone clean a free
- 6:20Speaker 2: from the start of the year. But I did that
- 6:22Speaker 2: for my children, but then I realized I had to clean,
- 6:24Speaker 2: which is sort of hastened the buying of the robovac.
- 6:28Speaker 2: But when you buy it, you get an app, and
- 6:31Speaker 2: I'm so obsessed with the app. I've been obsessed with cleaning,
- 6:34Speaker 2: and now I'm like doing the mapping and the rooms
- 6:37Speaker 2: and the zones and did I not tell you this
- 6:40Speaker 2: is this is life changing. Ill caution you though that.
- 6:45Speaker 1: So we've had we've had a Robovac for a few years.
- 6:47Speaker 2: Now ours is name Dusty. It's like having a pet.
- 6:50Speaker 1: We don't currently have a pet, were talks to Dusty
- 6:53Speaker 1: dust Dusty will often I feel like Dusty follows us
- 6:56Speaker 1: around like the dustiest reaching end of life.
- 7:00Speaker 2: Oh no no.
- 7:03Speaker 1: And now that Dusty has a name and a personality,
- 7:06Speaker 1: I feel some sense of not that I'm getting rid
- 7:09Speaker 1: of a a vacuum cleaner, but that, oh, poor Dusty.
- 7:13Speaker 2: And this is funny.
- 7:14Speaker 1: So we've talked about this for a while, agod, because
- 7:17Speaker 1: you know, it's all connected. So we make funny jokes
- 7:19Speaker 1: about someone's listening into our conversations. Dusty's here to listen
- 7:23Speaker 1: to what we're talking about or whatever. But we're talking
- 7:25Speaker 1: the other day about Dusty's on his last legs, like
- 7:27Speaker 1: there's just definitely gone. And then he disappeared. We could
- 7:33Speaker 1: not find him for days. We looked everywhere, and he
- 7:36Speaker 1: has on a number of occasions managed to get out
- 7:38Speaker 1: onto the back patio and Dusty made a bit for free,
- 7:43Speaker 1: and we've made a bid for freedom. But that's usually
- 7:45Speaker 1: where in summer when the doors are open.
- 7:47Speaker 2: So it's like it's so weird.
- 7:48Speaker 1: Usually we would know when he's around, so went outside,
- 7:51Speaker 1: looked down the side of the house.
- 7:52Speaker 2: Has he fallen off there?
- 7:53Speaker 1: Has he gone into the pool? No, he hadn't gone
- 7:55Speaker 1: into the pool. But he found this one spot and
- 7:57Speaker 1: moved under this. Like we've got this piece of furniture.
- 8:01Speaker 1: I'm from Queensland, I grew up in the seventies and
- 8:04Speaker 1: we would call it a poof. I don't know what
- 8:06Speaker 1: they're Piffe.
- 8:08Speaker 2: And ottoman.
- 8:09Speaker 1: Yeah, but it's not. It doesn't have the same structure
- 8:11Speaker 1: as that. But anyway, you know what I'm talking about.
- 8:13Speaker 1: It's about the and he managed to wedge himself under
- 8:16Speaker 1: that thing, never having done it before. So we just thought,
- 8:19Speaker 1: what's happened is he's heard us say he's got to go,
- 8:22Speaker 1: and he thought, oh, ship a better hide. I know
- 8:27Speaker 1: it's sad, poor Dusty, but doesn't And.
- 8:30Speaker 2: He wanted just to disappear somewhere quietly and go to
- 8:33Speaker 2: sleep and not wake up again. Now what are you
- 8:35Speaker 2: going to do with him? Are you going to taxidermiman
- 8:37Speaker 2: hanging on a wall or burying in the backyard? Idea
- 8:41Speaker 2: put him.
- 8:42Speaker 1: In the place that he loved the best, right in
- 8:43Speaker 1: the middle of the bloody floor.
- 8:46Speaker 2: Maybe you know the worst thing though, now that It's like,
- 8:50Speaker 2: you know, you get your first tattoo, Catherine, and you think, oh,
- 8:52Speaker 2: tattoos are easy. I can get more. You're going to
- 8:55Speaker 2: get more of those. You're going to get anyway. You
- 8:59Speaker 2: know I get another votes, well I'm going to get
- 9:03Speaker 2: I'm looking now at the robotic window cleaners. Oh yeah,
- 9:07Speaker 2: oh mate, I could do with guys. How do they work? Well?
- 9:09Speaker 2: Do the stick the one your window and off they go.
- 9:11Speaker 2: So I'm like, and because we've got those clear pull
- 9:14Speaker 2: fences like yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm like I am, I'm
- 9:18Speaker 2: going to go full robot. I was trying to trying
- 9:20Speaker 2: to say to my kids. If someone had told me
- 9:22Speaker 2: when I was their age that one day there would
- 9:25Speaker 2: be a watch that you could talk into and you
- 9:28Speaker 2: could video yourself, like have a video conversation with someone
- 9:31Speaker 2: on a phone, and a robot would clean your flaws.
- 9:33Speaker 2: I would have been like, no way, that's living, Like Sophie, like,
- 9:37Speaker 2: that's just not good. Anyway, here we are what I
- 9:40Speaker 2: do want if anyone knows how to make this work.
- 9:42Speaker 2: I want to be able to yell out from my
- 9:44Speaker 2: bedroom in the morning, turn the kettle on the Google
- 9:48Speaker 2: someone or however, all my phone is lit up. I
- 9:51Speaker 2: got I've got it. Outside of that, I got a husband.
- 9:55Speaker 2: Well yeah, every morning, getting a husband to the g
- 9:59Speaker 2: that's quite the price to pay. That's forgetting. There's got
- 10:04Speaker 2: a new way that it seems like the simplest thing,
- 10:06Speaker 2: Like if you can get your windows washed and your
- 10:08Speaker 2: floors done, there's got to be somehow to flick a
- 10:10Speaker 2: kettle on.
- 10:11Speaker 1: I remember all those eighties movies had people setting up
- 10:15Speaker 1: elaborate things in their home.
- 10:16Speaker 2: Wasn't part of Back to the Future.
- 10:18Speaker 1: Didn't Doctor Emmett Brown have something where his his breakfast
- 10:21Speaker 1: was made or something in him and the Green workshop,
- 10:24Speaker 1: And it's like, yeah, and the Grinch, Like, you know,
- 10:27Speaker 1: I feel like the futures let us down a little bit,
- 10:30Speaker 1: Like there's a lot that I love about it, but.
- 10:33Speaker 2: You know, oh wellz Ellis, you're a changed woman. I
- 10:36Speaker 2: am keen to see how Dobby goes with stairs and things. Dobbie,
- 10:39Speaker 2: you just have to pick Dobby up and Movebbie to
- 10:41Speaker 2: the top level. So we've got one step in our
- 10:43Speaker 2: house and it's just confused the shit out of pull Dobby.
- 10:46Speaker 2: So anyway, we'll keep working through it. But look, but
- 10:49Speaker 2: I think the future is here because in our future.
- 10:51Speaker 2: I see great netball, and I think we should probably
- 10:53Speaker 2: talk about that rather talking about cleaning.
- 10:57Speaker 1: Liz Ellis, what is a suit sayer? The reader of
- 11:01Speaker 1: the future. I was at Port Douglas Markets on the weekend.
- 11:04Speaker 1: There were quite a number of people there who were
- 11:06Speaker 1: telling the future. I'm telling people's future.
- 11:10Speaker 2: No giggles, I don't know. Really, we've been good story.
- 11:15Speaker 2: Go and get it done this week, and so you
- 11:17Speaker 2: can report back next week.
- 11:18Speaker 1: Oh well, I'm going to be in Sydney next time,
- 11:20Speaker 1: the Port Douglas. No, I'm going to be in Melbourne
- 11:22Speaker 1: next time, the Port Douglas Markets.
- 11:25Speaker 2: With some tea leaves next time. I see. I would
- 11:27Speaker 2: love that.
- 11:28Speaker 1: Well, and in fact, you know, I would give that
- 11:30Speaker 1: as much credence as anyone else who takes money for
- 11:33Speaker 1: I'll give you twenty bucks Catherine to to tell me
- 11:36Speaker 1: what's going to be in my future.
- 11:37Speaker 2: But Liz Ellis is right.
- 11:39Speaker 1: The last bit of netball for the Super Netble season
- 11:43Speaker 1: twenty twenty six is upon us.
- 11:45Speaker 2: So let's take a quick break and come back and
- 11:47Speaker 2: talk about that. Okay, this is it.
- 12:02Speaker 1: We're down to one game of netball. We had how
- 12:06Speaker 1: many weeks fourteen fabulous weeks of four games around and
- 12:10Speaker 1: then we had two, and then we had one, and
- 12:12Speaker 1: now there is one left and I'm beside myself with
- 12:17Speaker 1: excitement about it. And I just wanted to be a
- 12:20Speaker 1: sensational Remember how good last year's game was? My god, Yeah,
- 12:23Speaker 1: was so good and.
- 12:24Speaker 2: I didn't even care. I didn't have a team in it.
- 12:25Speaker 2: I didn't mind who won, but it was the best.
- 12:28Speaker 2: But what have we got?
- 12:29Speaker 1: We've got Thunderbirds and Vixen's the two teams who really
- 12:33Speaker 1: deserved to be playing the Grand Final, right.
- 12:36Speaker 3: Absolutely, and they've met in two Grand finals before. I've
- 12:39Speaker 3: had to do some research yesterday two thousand and nine
- 12:42Speaker 3: and twenty twenty four, and they've won one each.
- 12:46Speaker 2: Exciting. Which way is it going to go? I'm trying
- 12:52Speaker 2: to remember the two thousand and nine Grand Final that
- 12:54Speaker 2: would have been in Melbourne Sense Arena? But is that
- 12:58Speaker 2: John Kayne? Has that just been re named? I can't think?
- 13:00Speaker 2: I think? So? Did you play in that since? But
- 13:04Speaker 2: then no, no, I was with Swifts two thousand and nine.
- 13:07Speaker 1: Okay, oh, clearly we lost great, but you did play,
- 13:11Speaker 1: You played a Grand final, you won a Grand Final.
- 13:13Speaker 2: Vixens, who was that?
- 13:14Speaker 3: My last one in fourteen wasn't. But yeah, so that's
- 13:17Speaker 3: really interesting, isn't it. But like it is, as far
- 13:19Speaker 3: as grand finals go, just.
- 13:21Speaker 2: Put you back there. That's not even interesting. That's surprising
- 13:24Speaker 2: because these are two powerhouse teams, so it surprises me
- 13:28Speaker 2: that they've only met in two Oh okay, so they
- 13:32Speaker 2: met you're thinking Phoenix. Yeah, so I'm thinking Phoenix and
- 13:35Speaker 2: Thunderbirds and for the precursors to the Vixens or one
- 13:40Speaker 2: of the teams that were pre like sort of what
- 13:42Speaker 2: came in to form the Vixens. But during the Commonwealth
- 13:45Speaker 2: Bank Trophy days, Thunderbirds and Phoenix, I mean occasionally we
- 13:51Speaker 2: broke in and sort of busted up the Duopoli, but
- 13:54Speaker 2: they really had a mortgage on the on the Grand Final.
- 13:57Speaker 2: So it's interesting that in the the last carrige.
- 13:59Speaker 1: Did you just they had the mortgage on it during
- 14:01Speaker 1: the Commonwealth Bank Trophy because excellent.
- 14:04Speaker 2: I'd like to pay respect to that. Yeah, thank you,
- 14:07Speaker 2: show a little interest. Yeah, sorry, we're getting iterators now.
- 14:14Speaker 2: So it's funny that they've only met once before in
- 14:17Speaker 2: the current iteration of the league and once in the
- 14:20Speaker 2: A Z Champs iteration. That's a period of time, the
- 14:25Speaker 2: Thunderbirds weren't great either, so that was interesting.
- 14:28Speaker 3: But over the thirty years of the Thunderbirds, this is
- 14:31Speaker 3: their thirteenth Grand Final appearance.
- 14:34Speaker 2: Wow, massive, isn't it?
- 14:36Speaker 3: And it's the it's actually it's impressive for the Vixens
- 14:38Speaker 3: as well because it's their eighth Grand Final appearance, and
- 14:41Speaker 3: obviously they've only existed since two thousand and eight, so
- 14:45Speaker 3: there's a lot of Grand Final experience in history with
- 14:48Speaker 3: the two sides, which is just adds to how cool
- 14:50Speaker 3: is it?
- 14:51Speaker 2: One for it?
- 14:52Speaker 1: Right?
- 14:52Speaker 2: Yeah? Phenomenal. So Catherine, where do you think the game
- 14:56Speaker 2: will be won and lost?
- 14:58Speaker 3: One?
- 14:59Speaker 2: For me, it's John Payne Arena. What well, that's why
- 15:03Speaker 2: you don't commentate. Yeah, let's go to the expert, shall we.
- 15:07Speaker 3: It is one hundred percent for me around if the
- 15:09Speaker 3: Vixen's attack line shows up against the t Birds defense,
- 15:13Speaker 3: and that's that's where it will be won and lost,
- 15:16Speaker 3: because I feel like the other end kind of cancel
- 15:19Speaker 3: each other out to a degree. I reckon the mid
- 15:21Speaker 3: court's pretty evenly matched, but it is what the Thunderbird's
- 15:26Speaker 3: defense end does to that attack line and really just
- 15:28Speaker 3: makes them break down and a bit of a stranglehold
- 15:31Speaker 3: on them. So, but they did win one meeting. They
- 15:34Speaker 3: won Vixen's one round six this year, yep, against the
- 15:37Speaker 3: Tea Birds. That was the Tea Birds only lost this season.
- 15:40Speaker 3: So I reckon the Vixens will take a bit from
- 15:42Speaker 3: that and maybe need to have a look back at
- 15:44Speaker 3: it what they did so well. But like I said
- 15:46Speaker 3: in Wednesday's episode, I reckon they also played a very
- 15:49Speaker 3: good game plan in the prelim final that if they
- 15:52Speaker 3: can put together this whole sixty minutes, they can easily
- 15:56Speaker 3: take this Grand Final.
- 15:59Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:59Speaker 2: If I think back to the last time these two
- 16:01Speaker 2: teams met in the GRAB Final a couple of years ago,
- 16:04Speaker 2: Vixen's very nearly took that game. They played the whole
- 16:07Speaker 2: game really short, like nothing was in the air, kept
- 16:11Speaker 2: it right out of Shamira Sterling sort of area of strength,
- 16:15Speaker 2: which is that aerial game, and it was exhausting. It
- 16:19Speaker 2: was such an impressive And I'm going to go a
- 16:21Speaker 2: little bit different Catherin. I reckon it's going to be
- 16:23Speaker 2: the mid court that will decide because the Vixen's mid
- 16:26Speaker 2: court will need to provide such good back up and
- 16:28Speaker 2: good service to that shooting line and just had the
- 16:32Speaker 2: discipline to keep the ball short and sharp and low,
- 16:34Speaker 2: which means they're gonna run a marathon on the weekend
- 16:37Speaker 2: and it wouldn't shock me if we see a bit
- 16:39Speaker 2: of interchange. And that's where their interchange bench is so
- 16:42Speaker 2: strong with Hannah Monday there as well so at Zarah Waters.
- 16:45Speaker 2: So I feel like that mid court and Kate Hefernan
- 16:49Speaker 2: has been so strong for the Thunderbirds in that regard.
- 16:52Speaker 2: It's one thing to say it's how the Vixen shooting
- 16:55Speaker 2: line will hold up. It's just whether the Vixen's mid
- 16:58Speaker 2: court can continue to back up and the discipline to
- 17:01Speaker 2: go short and sharp the whole match into that.
- 17:03Speaker 3: So that's a fair call, yeah, because they're the ones
- 17:05Speaker 3: with the ball in their hand that have to find
- 17:06Speaker 3: their targets one hundred percent.
- 17:08Speaker 2: So yeah, that that whole front line attack line, for sure.
- 17:11Speaker 2: It's a massive bloody challenge, isn't it. It's enormous.
- 17:15Speaker 1: So Vixen's have exactly the same lineup that won the
- 17:18Speaker 1: Grand Final last year. Thunderbirds have. El Maray Vanderberg is
- 17:22Speaker 1: new and so neither of are they are they the
- 17:26Speaker 1: only two who haven't played in the Sun clops soup
- 17:28Speaker 1: in a ball grand final.
- 17:30Speaker 2: Yeah, first year in sun yeah yeah.
- 17:33Speaker 1: So do we think that's going to make a difference.
- 17:36Speaker 1: I mean, particularly for someone young like Ele Moray, I
- 17:39Speaker 1: wouldn't think so long, somewhat unflappable.
- 17:41Speaker 2: Have you met a cooler person? No? God, she couldn't
- 17:44Speaker 2: give a crap about anything. If you watch her play,
- 17:46Speaker 2: she's not been.
- 17:46Speaker 3: Affected by any game or any finals game thus far,
- 17:50Speaker 3: you can't see it happening. But I mean if that,
- 17:54Speaker 3: if that does happen and they get on top of her,
- 17:56Speaker 3: that's really their area of weakness in terms of the court.
- 18:00Speaker 3: Like then you've got Graham Frew, who are great players,
- 18:04Speaker 3: but I don't think are championship winning players, so it'd
- 18:09Speaker 3: be very interesting. I mean, they're still still not going
- 18:11Speaker 3: to send it to the bench, I wouldn't think, but
- 18:13Speaker 3: if they can start to get on top of her,
- 18:15Speaker 3: I just can't see that happening.
- 18:16Speaker 2: And Heaven and way too experienced an international. She's played
- 18:20Speaker 2: in finals before, just not here. I think both of
- 18:24Speaker 2: them experienced enough to keep level heads.
- 18:28Speaker 1: It's great to see, you know, despite elm Rays so
- 18:31Speaker 1: cool on court, but to then there was the thunderbird
- 18:35Speaker 1: social media watching her celebrating them going through to the
- 18:38Speaker 1: Grand Final.
- 18:39Speaker 2: You know it's like there's a she very much cares.
- 18:44Speaker 2: She was super excited about this.
- 18:46Speaker 1: It was really it was really lovely to see and
- 18:48Speaker 1: that's a professional, right, But it's like, I've got a
- 18:50Speaker 1: job to do there, but you know there's part of
- 18:52Speaker 1: me that is over the moon about this, and can.
- 18:55Speaker 2: We have a chat about the coaches? I think this
- 18:57Speaker 2: coaching like it's really fast coach, right, so both the
- 19:01Speaker 2: coaches to a degree, Like Tanya Obs has this magnificent team,
- 19:06Speaker 2: so she's on a bit of a hiding to nothing
- 19:07Speaker 2: if she doesn't win because her team is so good.
- 19:09Speaker 2: But she's recruited so beautifully, Like it's not just down
- 19:12Speaker 2: to this game. You know, the players who she's brought in.
- 19:14Speaker 2: She's got this great balance. She seems to have fun
- 19:17Speaker 2: on the sideline, and that does I think translate really
- 19:20Speaker 2: beautifully to her team and then die honey, I reckon.
- 19:24Speaker 2: In the last couple of games, we've started to see
- 19:26Speaker 2: her really relax into that head coach role, and for
- 19:30Speaker 2: her it's been a really interesting transition because she was
- 19:33Speaker 2: the assistant coach under Simone, so she played a certain
- 19:35Speaker 2: role in the team then and maybe Coxy can talk
- 19:38Speaker 2: a little bit more because you know what it's what
- 19:40Speaker 2: sort of coach Simone was Samone mckinness. But then for
- 19:44Speaker 2: Die Honey to come in and she's not a hiding
- 19:46Speaker 2: to nothing too right because she's got the same team
- 19:48Speaker 2: as won the Grand Final last year. But to back up,
- 19:51Speaker 2: you've got to do something a bit different. And Diye's
- 19:54Speaker 2: really fun and good value and it's been interesting to
- 19:57Speaker 2: see her sit on the sideline and have to be
- 19:59Speaker 2: a bit stern some times as a coach. But we've
- 20:02Speaker 2: started to see her personality come through a little bit
- 20:04Speaker 2: in the last few games and she's sort of you know,
- 20:06Speaker 2: you can see that fun aspect that she brings, and
- 20:08Speaker 2: I think that's so important when you're go into big
- 20:11Speaker 2: games like this set and both coaches are doing it
- 20:13Speaker 2: really well to just have fun, right, have fun in
- 20:16Speaker 2: the moment and encourage their team to have fun in
- 20:18Speaker 2: the moment. I think the difference I've seen between the
- 20:20Speaker 2: two coaches this season is Tanya obs to. Regardless of
- 20:24Speaker 2: the performance, and let's be honest, ninety nine percent of
- 20:27Speaker 2: them have been exceptional, she's still not happy if you
- 20:31Speaker 2: speak to her after a press conference or after a win,
- 20:34Speaker 2: she'll always say, oh, look, we could have done this better,
- 20:37Speaker 2: or we could have done that better. And you think,
- 20:39Speaker 2: is she watching the same game that we're watching. This
- 20:41Speaker 2: team is phenomenal, So she is always looking to raise
- 20:46Speaker 2: the bar and I think definitely Die would be as well, because,
- 20:49Speaker 2: as you say, you have to if you want to
- 20:51Speaker 2: go one better the following year. But she's also very
- 20:54Speaker 2: duly Fitzgerald like Lizon that she's got experienced players around
- 20:58Speaker 2: her and she lets them to a degree talk it
- 21:01Speaker 2: through because they they're on the court, they know how
- 21:04Speaker 2: it feels and what it looks like, and they've done
- 21:07Speaker 2: it before. So I think it's a really nice juggle
- 21:09Speaker 2: and balance between that with her and her side.
- 21:13Speaker 1: Wasn't it one of the mid game interviews with Die
- 21:15Speaker 1: Honey early in the season, and this is when the
- 21:18Speaker 1: Vixens were just looking unstoppable, and then someone says, how
- 21:23Speaker 1: do you coach a team like this? You see what
- 21:24Speaker 1: am I going to say to Sophie Garbin like Benjaanese,
- 21:26Speaker 1: you know, And it was quite funny that it's like
- 21:29Speaker 1: what you know, at some point you do have to
- 21:31Speaker 1: know when to when when to let the pot just
- 21:35Speaker 1: sit by itself, right.
- 21:36Speaker 2: It's I think what she probably does more than any
- 21:39Speaker 2: I mean, she knows the game. But the beauty of
- 21:42Speaker 2: the coaches that they have the stats and all that
- 21:43Speaker 2: stuff on the bench, the players don't. I mean that's
- 21:45Speaker 2: probably where she interjects with stuff pointing out, oh guys,
- 21:49Speaker 2: this is happening out there, because you're not always aware
- 21:52Speaker 2: of that as a player, are you, like the what's
- 21:56Speaker 2: happening like that? Yeah? And that's such a skill, right
- 21:59Speaker 2: to know how much in to give and then to
- 22:01Speaker 2: know when to step back and let your players sort
- 22:03Speaker 2: it out. And a younger team you might not step
- 22:05Speaker 2: back so much because they need your guidance, but a
- 22:08Speaker 2: more experienced team, the biggest skill is to know when
- 22:12Speaker 2: to just step back and let them sort it out.
- 22:14Speaker 2: And it's and make changes that make it like it's tempting.
- 22:17Speaker 2: As a coach, I imagine to be like, well, I
- 22:19Speaker 2: know everything, and I'm going to tell them what to do.
- 22:21Speaker 2: But I think the biggest skill is to go, Okay, well,
- 22:24Speaker 2: they know their game, they know the game plan. We're
- 22:26Speaker 2: being really clear about that. I'm telling them what's happening.
- 22:29Speaker 2: But the only way to fix it is if they
- 22:30Speaker 2: go out and fix it themselves. They only call one
- 22:33Speaker 2: time out on the weekend the Vixen's, which I found
- 22:35Speaker 2: very interesting. Well, we've seen them played a lot. They
- 22:38Speaker 2: just didn't need to and it is interesting, right, So
- 22:40Speaker 2: normal Plumber used to always say when she was doing selections,
- 22:45Speaker 2: one of the things that people didn't see but she
- 22:47Speaker 2: always took into account was how do I select players
- 22:49Speaker 2: who can make changes as the game is going, who
- 22:51Speaker 2: don't need me to full time because in an international
- 22:54Speaker 2: netball you can't call that time out unless you're faken injury.
- 22:58Speaker 2: I don't think that's changed, hasn't I think that's yeah. Yeah, So,
- 23:03Speaker 2: like she was always looking for players, and you know,
- 23:06Speaker 2: when you see controversies around selections, one of the things
- 23:09Speaker 2: that might not be so obvious for international stuff is
- 23:13Speaker 2: choosing players who can recognize that something's happening in the
- 23:16Speaker 2: game that they need to change and then either change
- 23:19Speaker 2: it themselves or speak to people around them to change it.
- 23:21Speaker 2: And I think that's quite a skill. And one of
- 23:24Speaker 2: the things that sometimes gets said to me about the
- 23:27Speaker 2: timeouts in super netball is that it's actually it's taken
- 23:32Speaker 2: away the skill of some players or it's made that
- 23:35Speaker 2: skill a bit redundant of the ability to recognize what's
- 23:37Speaker 2: happening on court, and players now need to have the
- 23:39Speaker 2: conversation with their coaches. But the more experienced players, even
- 23:42Speaker 2: if you're in a timeout, you might not need that conversation, right,
- 23:45Speaker 2: And so that's why the Vixens don't call the time out.
- 23:48Speaker 2: And that's quite a skill as well, because if your
- 23:51Speaker 2: opposition struggling, you don't want to be calling them time out.
- 23:54Speaker 2: You want to be like putting your foot on the
- 23:56Speaker 2: neck and going and keep going to a tray.
- 24:00Speaker 1: That's really interesting, Tanya Ovs. I mean, obviously haven't done
- 24:03Speaker 1: the Darryl get on this. I think she has consistently
- 24:08Speaker 1: used her bench, she has rotated through so all ten
- 24:10Speaker 1: of her players have had heaps of court time. Now
- 24:14Speaker 1: I can't I don't know what the comparison is with Vixen's,
- 24:16Speaker 1: but I know with a number of certainly the Queensland teams,
- 24:19Speaker 1: that was much less the case, you know, where they
- 24:22Speaker 1: mostly ran with their seven. And I think that that's
- 24:25Speaker 1: really interesting because you are then developing ten really strong
- 24:29Speaker 1: experienced players, aren't you, And so there's never there's never
- 24:33Speaker 1: that kind of dip in the experience that you have
- 24:35Speaker 1: to when you have to go to the bench.
- 24:37Speaker 2: Yeah, and you want to make sure that by the
- 24:40Speaker 2: time you get to the grad Final you can put
- 24:42Speaker 2: any one of those players on and you know they'll
- 24:44Speaker 2: do their job. And you only comet from premiership without
- 24:47Speaker 2: a bench. All right, so let's do this. Then who's
- 24:49Speaker 2: going to win?
- 24:52Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 24:53Speaker 2: I don't know either.
- 24:56Speaker 3: Yeah, I'll say t Birds, even though on the weekend
- 24:59Speaker 3: when I I was asked, I said extra time and
- 25:02Speaker 3: then the Vixen's. But I'm going to say, in the
- 25:06Speaker 3: light of day, see I should have slept on guys,
- 25:09Speaker 3: it'll be the Thunderbirds.
- 25:11Speaker 2: But I don't. I don't know anyway.
- 25:14Speaker 1: That's what's great is that I know that's the place, Catherine,
- 25:18Speaker 1: I know you've got to go. Can I just ask
- 25:20Speaker 1: really quickly what happens to the internationals?
- 25:22Speaker 2: Now?
- 25:22Speaker 1: So after the Grand Final? Does someone like elm Ray
- 25:25Speaker 1: go back to South Africa? Before the Commonwealth Games? Do
- 25:29Speaker 1: the Jamaicans go to Jamaica?
- 25:31Speaker 3: Like I know, I wouldn't think so, because that sounds
- 25:34Speaker 3: it's a really quick turnaround. The Diamond's going to camp
- 25:36Speaker 3: on Monday, the Grand Final Saturday.
- 25:39Speaker 2: Yeahl on Monday and then that's it. They're gone. Yeah.
- 25:43Speaker 3: So it's a very very quick turnaround. I think it
- 25:46Speaker 3: would be asking a lot to send players home first.
- 25:49Speaker 1: It's a lot of.
- 25:52Speaker 2: No so Catherine, you've got to go.
- 25:54Speaker 1: Sorry, thank you for everyone changing this around for me
- 25:56Speaker 1: because I'm on Holijos, but you are going to lose
- 25:59Speaker 1: you now. But have a great call on Saturday night tonight.
- 26:03Speaker 2: In reminding you tonight, my no dribbleshirt on and my
- 26:06Speaker 2: bubbles in my hand, chow chow. That would be three
- 26:08Speaker 2: of us. How do we tell the difference? Only our
- 26:12Speaker 2: mother can tell us the part. Oh my god, it's
- 26:15Speaker 2: like twins with Danny DeVito and Arnold Schwartzene.
- 26:18Speaker 1: So we will have to listen though, because I've got
- 26:20Speaker 1: a win beneath our wings that I'm just going to
- 26:22Speaker 1: tell Elizabeth about. So you can listen to this later on.
- 26:25Speaker 1: All right, We're gonna have a little break and then
- 26:27Speaker 1: come back and listen. I'm just gonna hang shit on
- 26:29Speaker 1: co see what.
- 26:30Speaker 2: It's not here?
- 26:42Speaker 1: Okay, Yes, Well, in exciting news, I.
- 26:45Speaker 2: Did mention this. I have a win beneath our wings nomination.
- 26:48Speaker 2: That's very exciting. So if you're new to.
- 27:03Speaker 1: This podcast, this was something we did a lot in
- 27:05Speaker 1: our first year, which was to ask you guys to
- 27:08Speaker 1: nominate people who are keeping our game alive at the
- 27:12Speaker 1: community level. You know, the volunteers, the people who've got
- 27:15Speaker 1: the boxes of merch at their house, the people who
- 27:17Speaker 1: are out there first thing in the morning to put
- 27:20Speaker 1: the post up to let people know don't buy the
- 27:22Speaker 1: coming down because the courts are too wet. But they're
- 27:24Speaker 1: the ones who've had to get up and get out
- 27:26Speaker 1: of bed when the rest of us are looking at
- 27:27Speaker 1: different All of those people, we know that our game
- 27:30Speaker 1: does not exist at the Grand Final of the Super
- 27:33Speaker 1: NETBA level without these volunteers. So, Liz, I'm going to
- 27:37Speaker 1: tell you about Julie, Julie Fuller from the glenn Innis
- 27:42Speaker 1: Netball Association Association. And this comes from Taylor Fuller. Oh, nepotism,
- 27:48Speaker 1: that's okay, we don't mind, man. We love we know,
- 27:50Speaker 1: we love it, Okay. Julie is truly the backbone of
- 27:53Speaker 1: the glenn Innis Netball Association. Glenn Innis is up your
- 27:56Speaker 1: way sort of.
- 27:58Speaker 2: It's between Dale and Tamworth. I know I'm going to
- 28:03Speaker 2: get shot for saying the wrong. I'm sure it was
- 28:06Speaker 2: between tenor Field and Armadad it's one of them.
- 28:10Speaker 1: Yes, I do know that one.
- 28:12Speaker 2: Yep. So it's a couple of hours, three hours from
- 28:13Speaker 2: my house. So if you're in the country, that's that's close.
- 28:18Speaker 1: You have to go north from my mate's place at Guira,
- 28:21Speaker 1: which potato capital of Australia. Back at the Lamb and
- 28:24Speaker 1: potato a lot of tomatoes too. But we're talking about
- 28:28Speaker 1: glenn Inns. So Julie Fuller, backbone of the glenn Innis
- 28:31Speaker 1: Netball Association, dedicated so much of her life to the
- 28:34Speaker 1: sport and our community. She runs net set go, which
- 28:39Speaker 1: we can all agree would be potentially a nightmare, attends
- 28:43Speaker 1: every junior and senior competition night, manages the canteen, the
- 28:47Speaker 1: opens rep coach for both regional league and state titles.
- 28:50Speaker 1: This year marks her thirty third year coaching at state titles,
- 28:54Speaker 1: which is an extraordinary achievement and a true reflection of
- 28:57Speaker 1: her dedication to netball and the athletes she supports. She
- 29:01Speaker 1: also coaches the glenn Innis High School teams and the
- 29:03Speaker 1: PLC Armadale Opens team, and this involves traveling to Armadale
- 29:07Speaker 1: every Thursday night and Saturday for training games. That continues
- 29:10Speaker 1: to give without hesitation. Her knowledge of the game is unmatched.
- 29:13Speaker 1: So clearly Julie would have been able to tell us
- 29:15Speaker 1: about where to put where the three feet is meet
- 29:19Speaker 1: That ye genuinely cares and courages and loves people and
- 29:23Speaker 1: loves the sports. She is inspired and shaped generations of players,
- 29:26Speaker 1: coaches and families throughout the region. On a personal level,
- 29:30Speaker 1: Julie has inspired Taylor to be the best person, player,
- 29:33Speaker 1: teammate and coach. She could be very lucky to call
- 29:36Speaker 1: Julie my mother and see the love and support she
- 29:38Speaker 1: gives my children as their grandmother.
- 29:40Speaker 2: We know Julie.
- 29:41Speaker 1: We know her for her passion, dedication, her loud sideline
- 29:44Speaker 1: coaching that always comes from a place of wanting the
- 29:47Speaker 1: very best for her players. Her energy, commitment and love
- 29:49Speaker 1: for the game impossible to miss and a huge part
- 29:52Speaker 1: of what makes her so special. Cannot think of anyone
- 29:56Speaker 1: more deserving for win beneath our wings than Julie Fuller
- 29:59Speaker 1: and Yay, so you know, I think we would agree
- 30:03Speaker 1: that Julie, you are the wind beneath our wings. All
- 30:06Speaker 1: in favor I I IY this week, Billie.
- 30:10Speaker 2: No one carrying no, no, no, Can I ask what
- 30:14Speaker 2: does Julie receive for a wind beneath the wings? Well, yes,
- 30:19Speaker 2: there is actually price.
- 30:20Speaker 1: Now I will send Julie one of our handcrafted No
- 30:25Speaker 1: Dribble limited edition scrunchies, but she will also get a
- 30:28Speaker 1: fifty dollar Valor voucher. So yes, yes, so that's she
- 30:33Speaker 1: Can you know, maybe buy another scrunchy if she wants
- 30:37Speaker 1: to with that. I don't know whether they have scrunchies,
- 30:39Speaker 1: but if they did, they would be much better quality
- 30:41Speaker 1: than the ones that we will produce.
- 30:43Speaker 2: But how many how many scrunches are left that you
- 30:45Speaker 2: and Catherine made over many many many glasses of bubbles? Look,
- 30:49Speaker 2: there's I reckon, We've still got another twenty.
- 30:51Speaker 1: I'm going to give a couple away tonight at the
- 30:54Speaker 1: at the show like Kats wanted to give them away
- 30:56Speaker 1: to everyone, but I think we still have to maintain
- 30:59Speaker 1: You still have to earn these somehow. You can't just
- 31:02Speaker 1: you can't just show up and be nice and earn something.
- 31:05Speaker 1: So you know, you need to be willing to be
- 31:08Speaker 1: ritually humiliated or contribute to the game for thirty three years,
- 31:13Speaker 1: you know, I still think we should be holding these
- 31:15Speaker 1: just for the wind beneath our wingers. But they may
- 31:19Speaker 1: be around into the next millennium if we don't start
- 31:21Speaker 1: to don't start to shift them soon. But Julie Fuller
- 31:24Speaker 1: will be getting one. And we've got a number of
- 31:26Speaker 1: people coming to the function tonight who will be sporting
- 31:29Speaker 1: their wind beneath our wings scrunches that they have earned.
- 31:34Speaker 2: Fabulous, All right done, Julie. And yeah, I mean glen
- 31:38Speaker 2: Glenn Innes is a fantastic place. That's great to hear
- 31:41Speaker 2: that they've got a fantastic netty.
- 31:44Speaker 1: Person play on Ashvelt too, Like God, we had the
- 31:46Speaker 1: girls going down hard on the weekend and that's that's
- 31:50Speaker 1: just bad, isn't it. And they come up but it's
- 31:54Speaker 1: it's really good to see at the age that they
- 31:56Speaker 1: stop going down and not being able to get up
- 31:59Speaker 1: and play anymore.
- 32:00Speaker 2: And now it's sort of like, oh, okay, yeah, I
- 32:03Speaker 2: thought that I was thought you were going to say
- 32:05Speaker 2: the age of which they stopped falling down. But given
- 32:07Speaker 2: and I've played two games in my comeback season and
- 32:10Speaker 2: I've fallen down both times. I don't know that it
- 32:12Speaker 2: ever stops.
- 32:13Speaker 1: And there is a great photo of your daughter laughing
- 32:14Speaker 1: at you falling down. Actually, I saw on Kim Green's
- 32:17Speaker 1: socials a while ago. She was passing to her little girl,
- 32:21Speaker 1: who I think must be about six or seven, and
- 32:22Speaker 1: they were doing some passing drills in the lund room
- 32:25Speaker 1: and her daughter just leapt over the cat and I
- 32:28Speaker 1: sent her a night and said, well, you never had
- 32:29Speaker 1: to deal with ops. She's better than you. You never
- 32:31Speaker 1: had to deal with obstacles like that, And she said no, no,
- 32:33Speaker 1: but I had to walk around Maddie Proud on the
- 32:35Speaker 1: ground all the time.
- 32:37Speaker 2: That is true. No one spends more time on her
- 32:41Speaker 2: ask than Maddie Proud. Oh that's so true.
- 32:44Speaker 1: Yeah. Anyway, so yeah, big weekend, We've got to really
- 32:48Speaker 1: appreciate our last sixty minutes of super netbul for the season.
- 32:52Speaker 1: But then we have the COMRV games and the Constellation
- 32:56Speaker 1: Cup's beIN announced.
- 32:57Speaker 2: Yes it has, and the Constellation Cup will be played
- 32:59Speaker 2: in the first two games get played in New Zealand,
- 33:02Speaker 2: the next two get played in Sydney at Keutos Bank
- 33:06Speaker 2: Arena and then John Caine Arena in Melbourne on the
- 33:09Speaker 2: Wednesday night afterwards. So yeah, there's a bit going on
- 33:13Speaker 2: in the back end of the season which is really
- 33:15Speaker 2: exciting and I do want to send a shout out
- 33:18Speaker 2: to Darryl thank you so much for putting in the
- 33:20Speaker 2: Times the Commonwealth Games times that we can watch them
- 33:23Speaker 2: here in Australia. I won't be going, so I'm quite
- 33:25Speaker 2: looking forward to getting up at all hours and making them.
- 33:27Speaker 2: I might make my son get up and watch the
- 33:29Speaker 2: Commonwealth Games given them. He's dragged me out of bed
- 33:32Speaker 2: at on godly hours in the last couple of weeks
- 33:35Speaker 2: for the Football World Cup. It's now time for them
- 33:37Speaker 2: to get up and watch a bit of Nettie in
- 33:38Speaker 2: the middle of the night.
- 33:41Speaker 1: Well, my son, it's now ten past ten. He's just
- 33:43Speaker 1: gotten ups. So this is what you have to look
- 33:46Speaker 1: forward to on holidays. So he doesn't know that there's
- 33:51Speaker 1: a mirror in the back there and he just whipped
- 33:53Speaker 1: the bird at me and it could be seen. Alex,
- 33:55Speaker 1: if you don't mind, we won't put that to ab
- 33:57Speaker 1: I think that so it might be a breach of privacy.
- 34:00Speaker 2: I'm misted. De Well, the mirror back up there, so
- 34:06Speaker 2: question without notice, Liz.
- 34:08Speaker 1: We had some fan Brisbane fans unhappy that they don't
- 34:11Speaker 1: have a Constellation Cup game.
- 34:13Speaker 2: Is this again?
- 34:14Speaker 1: Premiers need to bring a bag of cash. Is that
- 34:17Speaker 1: what they should be doing is that they should be
- 34:19Speaker 1: asking Premier Chris A. Fuley to please put some more
- 34:22Speaker 1: money behind netball to be taking the test matches up there. Yep,
- 34:27Speaker 1: I would very much like to go to a Test
- 34:29Speaker 1: match in Brisbane too. I would go up and see
- 34:31Speaker 1: my dad and then go to the net ball and
- 34:32Speaker 1: meet some dribblers up there. But yeah, I think this
- 34:35Speaker 1: is this is what it comes down to. You guys,
- 34:37Speaker 1: make sure you're if you get to meet your elective representatives,
- 34:40Speaker 1: make sure that they know that it's important to you
- 34:42Speaker 1: as a voter that they'd be supporting the largest participation
- 34:45Speaker 1: game for women and girls in Australia, including in getting
- 34:49Speaker 1: Test matches to your city.
- 34:51Speaker 2: Written and spoken by Carolyn Swindell.
- 34:54Speaker 1: I endorsed this message. One quick Notable recommends Romie. If
- 35:02Speaker 1: you haven't ever seen Rommy and Michelle's High School Reunion,
- 35:05Speaker 1: you must go and watch that because there is a
- 35:08Speaker 1: sequel coming out. This movie came out in the nineteen
- 35:12Speaker 1: nineties and sometime. It is one of the greatest pieces
- 35:16Speaker 1: of cinema art ever created. And they are now getting
- 35:21Speaker 1: the band back together again and I'm pumped about that.
- 35:24Speaker 2: Are you a romy and Michelle Fan. Yeah. Absolutely, it
- 35:27Speaker 2: had what's to day minute Phoebe from Friends, didn't it
- 35:30Speaker 2: It did?
- 35:31Speaker 1: Yeah, Lisa Kudrow and Mirrs Lavina Yes, and Alan Cumming
- 35:36Speaker 1: and Janine Garoffalo.
- 35:38Speaker 2: Who would play me in the movie of No Dribble, So,
- 35:45Speaker 2: which I understand is not being commissioned anytime soon. As
- 35:48Speaker 2: far as I know, it's not in the works, but
- 35:50Speaker 2: you never know what screenwriters are tapping away. They're thinking
- 35:54Speaker 2: about the adventures of three middle aged women and some laptops. Hey,
- 35:58Speaker 2: exactly powered by Lady Petrol also known as Rose. Anyway,
- 36:03Speaker 2: there we are, Lady Petrol. I hope you have some
- 36:10Speaker 2: good fun drinking Lady Petrol in Thank you Northern Australia
- 36:13Speaker 2: for that. Am I going to go? The sun is shining.
- 36:15Speaker 1: It has been bucketing down periodically, which is also very nice,
- 36:19Speaker 1: but today we are going out and about.
- 36:21Speaker 2: But thank you for recording on to suit.
- 36:23Speaker 1: My schedule this week and I look forward to seeing
- 36:26Speaker 1: you tonight Friday night. Yeah all right, okay, dribblers, thanks
- 36:30Speaker 1: so much for joining us, and enjoy the last minutes
- 36:33Speaker 1: of the Super Neple season for twenty twenty six.
- 36:36Speaker 2: I'm Caroline Swindell. I'm Lizellis and cat Cox left the
- 36:39Speaker 2: building sometime ago. She's over. That was cat Cox. Elvis
- 36:42Speaker 2: has left the building. Bye bye
