  I thought I would share a story about Christianity in my past,
• 1:33
  my childhood, and what Christianity means to me and why
• 1:38
  I feel like there's a lot of problems and a lot of issues.
• 1:41
  Before I get into this, I want to let you know that there are a
• 1:45
  handful of people out there, literally a handful of people,
• 1:48
  at least in social media, that I consider actual Christians who
• 1:52
  are living up to the ways of Jesus, but only handful out of
• 1:58
  1,000,000. Frank Turek recently asked the

  why are millennials abandoning Christianity?

  And I wrote because Christianity fails like every other group.
• 2:13
  Fake people who wear a label but don't live up to it.
• 2:16
  Luckily, I put my faith in God and trust.
• 2:19
  Christianity has not been good to me at all.
• 2:23
  As many of you know, I used to be a former atheist.
• 2:27
  I was an atheist for many years of my life, from my teenage
• 2:30
  years all the way up into my adult life.
• 2:36
  I ended up doing a lot of praying to God, a lot of asking
• 2:41
  God to be able to help out some people that I love, people that
• 2:45
  were sick and something miraculous happened for my
• 2:50
  daughter, as well as some other events in my life where if God
• 2:55
  had not intervened, I would not be here right now talking to you
• 3:00
  or having a conversation. But I can assure you that
• 3:03
  Christianity itself and Christians themselves were of no
• 3:09
  help in keeping the faith or keeping strong in this.
• 3:14
  It was all on God. I'll tell you a couple good
• 3:19
  stories about Christians, but I'm also going to tell you some
• 3:23
  pretty damn negative stories. And I believe that the handful
• 3:26
  of Christians out there who do respect me and and love me and
• 3:30
  all that kind of stuff, they'll probably be able to relate and
• 3:33
  identify with a lot of the stories that I'm telling you.
• 3:36
  And the reason why I'm telling these stories is I'm explaining
• 3:40
  to you why some non believers, even if they are sincerely
• 3:44
  honest and they're looking and they're searching, they're not
• 3:47
  gonna find what they're looking for through Christianity,
• 3:50
  period. They're not.
• 3:52
  In fact, I'm actually concerned that if some atheists find
• 3:56
  themselves in the same position as myself, they may get wrecked.
• 4:01
  Even worse if they put themselves in the position that
• 4:05
  I put myself into where I ended up labeling myself Christian.
• 4:10
  And so on. You will notice if you watch my
• 4:13
  videos too. My closest friends notices I
• 4:18
  defend God's word and I defend God, but I do not normally
• 4:25
  defend Christianity and its actions.
• 4:28
  I feel like Christianity has become a separate entity from
• 4:32
  the Christians that are mentioned in the Bible.
• 4:35
  I believe that at one point in time Christians used to be about
• 4:39
  Jesus Christ and about God. Nowadays, I don't.
• 4:43
  And believe it or not, that's actually prophecy.
• 4:46
  If you read the Bible and you read the Book of Revelation,
• 4:49
  you'll see that it says that the heart will grow cold.
• 4:52
  A lot of religious people will turn away, they will abandoned,
• 4:55
  they will betray God, and a lot of them will find themselves in
• 5:02
  a time period. Some will call it a tribulation,
• 5:06
  some will call it pre rapture after rapture.
• 5:09
  Whatever words they give it where they think that some
• 5:13
  people will be left behind, others will be raptured away
• 5:17
  just in time before things get really horrible.
• 5:23
  Being that there's so many different denominations of
• 5:26
  Christianity, whether Christians want to say that this is a
• 5:31
  Christian denomination or not, or they're fakes, There's more
• 5:35
  minister of witnesses, there's Catholics, and then there's like
• 5:39
  30,000 different versions of Christianity.
• 5:42
  A person who's on the outside of this could get very confused if
• 5:48
  you were to talk to someone who believes in free will and then
• 5:50
  turn around, talk to a different Christian who's a Calvinist.
• 5:54
  And I have found myself in many live debates and discussions
• 5:57
  where Christians are arguing with each other over and over
• 6:01
  about how God views things or how God perceives things.
• 6:05
  And it's so fascinating because I know that all these Christians
• 6:10
  from these different denominations, they're in the
• 6:12
  same boat as I am. They don't know any more about
• 6:16
  God's behavior or how God is going to do something except for
• 6:22
  their interpretation of how God may do things in the Bible.
• 6:27
  But you know, there's been times, even in the Bible, where
• 6:30
  God did things that people did not expect because they felt
• 6:34
  like God was predictable. They felt like they had known so
• 6:39
  much about God in the past that God would act the same way in
• 6:45
  the future. That's not necessarily true,
• 6:48
  ladies and gentlemen. When Jesus came along claiming
• 6:52
  to be God, claiming to be the Son of God and all this, a lot
• 6:56
  of people, especially those who were on the side of Jesus
• 7:01
  Christ, those who followed him, they expected him to be a
• 7:05
  revolutionary warrior. They expected him to amass a
• 7:10
  huge amount of followers and then take out the Roman
• 7:14
  government, take out all kinds of different bad systems,
• 7:18
  correct. A lot of the broken evil that
• 7:21
  was going on with the Sadducees and the Pharisees, they expected
• 7:26
  a God that was going to come in and be like Donald Trump or
• 7:30
  something where he was just going to lay if the hammer down
• 7:33
  and do things when Jesus started talking about love and turn the
• 7:37
  other cheek and you know, let people slap you, you know about
• 7:42
  the cheek, all this kind of stuff.
• 7:44
  They didn't expect that these were people who were diseased,
• 7:48
  they were sick, they were unhealthy, they were unhappy,
• 7:52
  they were being taxed at the ass.
• 7:55
  They were barely surviving, and they were dealing with a Bad
• 8:01
  Religion back then, as well as a corrupt government, kind of like
• 8:06
  what we do nowadays. And they really expected Jesus
• 8:09
  to be more than what he was talking about.
• 8:14
  A lot of his teachings and his lessons were beautiful, and it's
• 8:17
  a thing that you could live by, But people wanted more.
• 8:21
  They wanted actual physical action.
• 8:24
  They wanted destruction to come to Rome.
• 8:26
  They wanted to be able to push out all the pagans out of
• 8:30
  Jerusalem and all that, and they wanted God to basically take
• 8:34
  over and bring his Kingdom down to earth and rule over evil and
• 8:41
  good. But that wasn't what Jesus's
• 8:44
  plan was, at least not at that point in time.
• 8:52
  A lot of people felt disappointed, and a lot of
• 8:55
  people, including those who followed Jesus, were skeptical
• 8:58
  even whenever he was crucified. And they didn't understand for
• 9:02
  the life of them why it was that this man who claimed to be God
• 9:07
  or the Son of God, who had all these great powers, why was he
• 9:12
  being crucified? Why was he being killed for?
• 9:15
  Why wasn't he blasting them with fireballs or bringing lightning
• 9:20
  and hell from the sky and wrath and destruction like on Sodom
• 9:24
  and Gomorrah? Why wasn't he drowning the
• 9:26
  earth? Why wasn't he doing something
• 9:28
  about all the corruption and evil?
• 9:31
  Instead, he was allowing himself to be whipped and beaten and
• 9:34
  then crucified. Is it?
• 9:35
  No wonder the disciples questioned what was going on.
• 9:39
  They they were confused. They didn't understand what was
• 9:43
  up. Why is this happening for?
• 9:46
  Why is God allowing the human race to dissect him, butchering
• 9:53
  torture him? They didn't know.
• 10:00
  The Bible has a lot of very interesting teachings and a lot
• 10:04
  of different philosophy. God, Jesus Christ, tends to
• 10:10
  react differently in some scenarios that God acted
• 10:15
  differently in the Old Testament, and that's one of the
• 10:19
  reasons why some people say, how can Jesus be God?
• 10:21
  How can this be the case? Yadda yadda yadda.
• 10:27
  In the end, all of us figure out that it's a plan, it's a part of
• 10:31
  some kind of reason. God's trying to make a statement
• 10:35
  or he's trying to give us a message.
• 10:37
  He's trying to tell us something.
• 10:40
  And some of us, we just simply don't interpret it.
• 10:42
  We don't understand it. We're like the disciples who
• 10:45
  follow him with full faith and trust.
• 10:48
  We just don't know exactly what this plan surmounts to and we
• 10:54
  don't know also. One of the other problems is you
• 10:57
  have all these Christians out here who all believe they're
• 11:00
  going to get to heaven, Yet Jesus Christ says the way is
• 11:03
  narrow. There's going to be a lot of
• 11:06
  people who label themselves to us and claim this and that, and
• 11:09
  then they're not. They're basically going to be
• 11:12
  screwed. So it's not like you can just go
• 11:16
  to church, sit down and pray a couple times, and then all of a
• 11:20
  sudden it gets fixed. Then you got a bunch of
• 11:23
  Christians who were saying, Nah, you don't have to do anything.
• 11:26
  All you have to do is believe, and you're fine as long as some
• 11:31
  guy that you don't even know what he's doing in his life,
• 11:34
  some big time center who just claims to be a preacher says
• 11:38
  that you're saved and because he ducked you in water, you are
• 11:43
  supposedly going to heaven just by having some words chanted
• 11:47
  over you and then having this little ritual that took about 5
• 11:52
  minutes. Supposedly this cleans off all
• 11:54
  the evil that you've ever done or wrongs or things that you
• 11:57
  ever thought about. And there's that.
• 12:01
  So it's not surprising really, is it, that there's a bunch of
• 12:05
  people who are skeptical of this, who don't believe that
• 12:10
  mere rituals are going to solve the world's problems, nor answer
• 12:15
  the question of origin and our existence and why suffering and
• 12:19
  evil even exist in the 1st place.
• 12:22
  It was one of the reasons why I was a non believer.
• 12:24
  It just seemed like some of it was just nonsense or greasy
• 12:29
  grace or just ways for people to be able to keep your ass in the
• 12:33
  seat so they could have yet another person that they could
• 12:37
  collect money from with their plate.
• 12:42
  So I remember whenever I was a child, my mother attended many,
• 12:50
  many different churches. See, my mother wasn't content
• 12:54
  with some of the churches. Some of the churches interpreted
• 12:58
  the Bible differently than herself, and she didn't feel
• 13:02
  like she was getting what she wanted out of it.
• 13:04
  So she would go to different churches and try them out and
• 13:08
  all that, but she wasn't just going to church so she could
• 13:11
  hear about God or try to find the right religion or the right
• 13:14
  version of it or the right brand.
• 13:17
  She was a woman who was taking care of three children all by
• 13:20
  herself. So she was also looking for a
• 13:23
  place where she could get support and she could find
• 13:26
  friendship and people to help her.
• 13:28
  She was also looking for physical needs like food and
• 13:33
  help with bills. Because when you're a single
• 13:36
  mother and you're struggling and you can't afford babysitters, or
• 13:40
  you can't afford proper schooling or proper anything,
• 13:43
  and you can't put food into the stomachs of your children, a
• 13:48
  woman will go out of her way, including a man.
• 13:51
  If they truly love their kids and they're trying to survive,
• 13:55
  they're going to do whatever it takes.
• 13:56
  Unfortunately my mother found herself in many occasions, very
• 14:00
  disappointed. I remember she took me to this
• 14:03
  one church that she thought was going to be really good and she
• 14:07
  sat me right in the front row and I was just about, I'd say 12
• 14:12
  years old. This would be about a year
• 14:14
  before my grandmother died in front of me from cancer.
• 14:18
  And this preacher started going on this big ass rant about how
• 14:22
  he used to be a Sinner, how he used to have sex with lots of
• 14:25
  women and do lots of drugs and all that and drink all the time
• 14:29
  and gamble. And he just basically named off
• 14:32
  a list of all the terrible things he did before he found
• 14:35
  Jesus. And then he walked up to me and
• 14:38
  decided to target me out of all the people that were sitting
• 14:41
  there. And he goes, Sonny boy, I used
• 14:44
  to be just like you see, whenever I was young, I looked
• 14:47
  older. If you look at me on video, you
• 14:51
  would probably think this guy's like, you know, 50 something
• 14:54
  years old or 60. A lot of people make that
• 14:57
  mistake because I have Gray hair.
• 14:59
  I have premature Gray hair. Well, when whenever I was a kid,
• 15:03
  I actually had Gray hair as well.
• 15:06
  I was my friends used to call me Moses because I had the big
• 15:10
  bushy white wiry hair, you know, like what you see in the 10
• 15:15
  Commandments cover of films and all that.
• 15:19
  So the preacher, to get back to the story, he pointed his finger
• 15:23
  at me and he said, young man, I used to be just like you.
• 15:26
  I used to do this and do that and do that.
• 15:29
  And basically what he did was he was saying that I was a bad
• 15:33
  person and that he used to be like me, but I hadn't done
• 15:37
  anything that he'd ever done. I was only like 11-12 years old.
• 15:42
  I had never took a sip of alcohol before.
• 15:44
  I had never done drugs. In fact, I was completely
• 15:47
  against drugs. I used to go to a classroom at
• 15:52
  school where they taught kids a war on drugs.
• 15:56
  That's what was happening during my time.
• 15:58
  Whenever I was a kid, there's a big war on drugs, and I was
• 16:06
  actually trying to do well in school.
• 16:08
  I was trying to be good to people and all that, even though
• 16:12
  I wasn't sure what my place was with God.
• 16:14
  But now I've got this person who doesn't know anything about me
• 16:20
  do is making an example out of me in front of all the other
• 16:23
  Christians out there. Just made the decision that I
• 16:27
  would become part of their rant and that they would bounce off
• 16:30
  me like I was a podium and spill out all the stuff and accuse me
• 16:35
  of being a bad, shitty person like they used to be before they
• 16:40
  found God. The sad thing was, is even
• 16:44
  though my mother was attending all these churches, I was
• 16:47
  already sold on the idea that there was a God back then.
• 16:51
  You didn't have to save me. You didn't have to dunk me.
• 16:54
  You didn't have to do any of these things.
• 16:56
  I already believed that there was a creator of the universe.
• 16:59
  I already believed in God and I was already attempting to be the
• 17:04
  best person I could be. In fact, I helped my mother take
• 17:08
  care of my brother and sister because she didn't have anybody
• 17:11
  else. I'm a little kid who's trying to
• 17:14
  take upon the father role. I'm trying to be an adult
• 17:19
  whenever I'm basically losing my childhood, and now I'm being
• 17:23
  told that I'm a fucking piece of trash by a person I don't even
• 17:26
  know who's supposed to be an authority figure in religion.
• 17:32
  So things like that really turned me off.
• 17:39
  I got to realize, and at a very young age, that a lot of
• 17:43
  Christians like to hear themselves talk, but they don't
• 17:46
  like to listen. They don't like to ask
• 17:48
  questions. The preacher could have asked
• 17:51
  me, what do you do in school? You know, tell me a little bit
• 17:54
  about yourself instead of predetermine or assume that I'm
• 17:58
  an awful, fucking horrible person that deserves to burn in
• 18:01
  hell. He could have actually had a
• 18:04
  conversation with me. He could have kept me out of his
• 18:06
  little fucking rant and talk to me later and said welcome to our
• 18:10
  church, you know, it's nice to meet you.
• 18:13
  What's your name? All that kind of shit.
• 18:15
  He didn't know what my fucking name was and he decided to, you
• 18:19
  know, pound me with that bullshit.
• 18:26
  I had a lot of incidences like that, ladies and gentlemen.

  I remember my mother attended A Pentecostal church and there
• 18:34
  were people who were yapping and what they call tongue, you know,
• 18:39
  the the, the, the, the, the kind of stuff.
• 18:42
  They call it the angelic language.
• 18:45
  I seen people flopping up and down on the ground.
• 18:48
  I seen a woman who was obese, wearing no fucking underwear in
• 18:53
  church, and she went into one of her like she was possessed or
• 18:57
  something in church. And she ended up pissing all
• 18:59
  over the aisle where people walk because she was frantic and
• 19:04
  doing the whole voices and blah blah blah shit Some people.
• 19:08
  If you would have seen her on video and not known the context
• 19:12
  of what was happening, you probably would have thought she
• 19:15
  was demonically possessed. But she was claiming that she
• 19:18
  was being filled with the spirit of God and she flipped the fuck
• 19:21
  out. And this was bringing full
• 19:25
  attention to herself. And what was even creepier about
• 19:30
  it is it was clear that she was mentally ill and unstable, but
• 19:34
  the way the people wrapped around her in a crowd and said,
• 19:39
  oh praise Jesus, praise God, praise.
• 19:43
  You know when it was clear as day that she was just making a
• 19:48
  spectacle of herself for attention, and I got to know the
• 19:52
  lady later on and shit, and it was clear that she wasn't well,
• 19:57
  that she had all kinds of serious problems.

  And it seemed like every fucking week that we went to that
• 20:04
  church, that woman would have her little moment where the
• 20:07
  Spirit would get in there and then everybody get excited like
• 20:10
  they're at a fucking rock concert.
• 20:12
  And that, to be honest with you, is embarrassing.
• 20:16
  It was it was fucking terrifying knowing that at a certain time
• 20:21
  during the sermon, the woman was gonna just go into one of her
• 20:25
  fucking behavior, misfit problems.
• 20:29
  So yeah, I've been to churches where they brought in snakes.
• 20:37
  I've been in churches where they hit you upside the head or swing
• 20:41
  their coats at you trying to heal the the sinful cancer
• 20:45
  that's inside of you. I've I've experienced so much
• 20:48
  fucking bullshit. And then finally, when I got old
• 20:51
  enough to where I can tell my mother no, I'm not going to
• 20:54
  these fucking things anymore. I'm not see my mother.

  She was desperate. She was looking for healing.

  She was looking for something to help her with her severe
• 21:05
  depression and she was also physically sick.
• 21:09
  She got to the point where she couldn't even work anymore.
• 21:12
  She got to the point where she wasn't able to mother her
• 21:16
  children anymore. It was all left on me.

  And then finally, whenever it got too overwhelming for myself,
• 21:22
  the government stepped in, took my brother and sister and
• 21:25
  myself, separated us and put us through a multitude of foster
• 21:30
  care, where then I ended up even seeing more churches and more
• 21:35
  denominations. So by the time I was a teenager,
• 21:38
  I was fucking absolutely disgusted with the whole
• 21:42
  Christian religion scene. I'd seen so many fakes.
• 21:45
  I had seen so much bullshit at the time.
• 21:47
  Whenever I was a kid, I wasn't smoking cigarettes.
• 21:51
  I actually was against smoking cigarettes.
• 21:53
  But I remember going to a Catholic Church and the priest
• 21:57
  was actually smoking a cigarette and drinking a wine outside.
• 22:01
  And I asked him what the fuck he was doing and he said, well,
• 22:04
  Jesus turned water in the wine and therefore it's OK for him to
• 22:08
  drink fucking alcohol right before going into one of his
• 22:12
  little mass spills or whatever. So I ended up becoming an
• 22:18
  atheist for many years and yadda yadda yadda and I my faith went
• 22:23
  back into God, but it never really went back into
• 22:26
  Christianity at all. I never really I seen that a lot
• 22:31
  of I tried going into churches. My wife tried 1st and I remember
• 22:36
  when she went and I was still on the fence of should I be a
• 22:42
  skeptic? Should I be, should I be open to
• 22:45
  the idea there's a God. My wife was starting to get
• 22:48
  spiritual again and she went to a church and when they found out
• 22:52
  that she was married to Brett Keene because I live in a small
• 22:56
  town, everybody knew what I was about.
• 22:58
  They knew I had made YouTube videos.

  They actually tried to convince her to leave me that she was
• 23:04
  unevenly yoked is what they called it.
• 23:07
  They said that she should be with a good Christian man who
• 23:09
  gives a fuck, that she's got a baby with me, that we have a
• 23:12
  son. They were literally trying to
• 23:15
  break up our marriage and thought that it would be better
• 23:18
  if she was married to someone who was labeled Christian.
• 23:23
  So again, I probably would have been a believer in God even
• 23:28
  sooner at the church, not tried to personally damage my fucking
• 23:33
  marriage. I feel like the church causes a
• 23:41
  lot more problems than it does good.
• 23:43
  I believe that when people are looking for answers and they're
• 23:48
  looking for the truth, unfortunately, Christianity is
• 23:53
  like solid bar theology. It's like a buffet.
• 23:56
  You have no idea what you're about to step into when you step
• 24:00
  into a church. A lot of these atheists and non
• 24:03
  believers, they don't know what it is they're getting themselves
• 24:05
  into. All they know is that they might
• 24:08
  be open to the idea of God. So they see a local church, they
• 24:14
  step into it and they don't know if there's going to be fucking
• 24:16
  snakes in there. They don't know if they're going
• 24:19
  to be seeing people jumping up and down like fucking dumb zoo
• 24:21
  animals. They have no idea if they're
• 24:24
  going to get screamed at, yelled at, are told that they're a
• 24:27
  fucking bad person who deserves to burn in hell.
• 24:32
  And that's why I feel sorry for some non believers.
• 24:36
  Because I do know that a majority of atheists are
• 24:39
  assholes and they're arrogant and they're pompous and they're
• 24:43
  in the blasphemy and mockery. It's like a fucking hobby for
• 24:46
  them. Some of them even profit off of
• 24:47
  it, but there are sometimes there's one or two or even five
• 24:54
  of them that may say, you know what, this naturalism shit, this
• 24:59
  idea that the universe came from nothing, This isn't working for
• 25:03
  me. I want to see if there's more to
• 25:04
  it. So then they'll go to a church
• 25:09
  because they figure, you know, some people get this idea that
• 25:14
  when they pray, sometimes it seems as though God doesn't
• 25:17
  respond to them right away. Some people think that if God
• 25:20
  doesn't speak to you in an audible voice and he's not
• 25:23
  listening, sometimes God doesn't say a word but he changes
• 25:27
  something in your path or helps you in some kind of way through
• 25:31
  action as opposed to words. Well, some non believers don't
• 25:38
  get that. They don't understand that.
• 25:40
  They figure they got to be around a lot of people who have
• 25:43
  the hocus pocus magic in order to be able to see results.
• 25:47
  They get around the hocus pocus people and the hocus pocus
• 25:50
  people turn out to be hypocrites and liars and thieves and
• 25:54
  boasting sinners and shed and then everything goes down the
• 25:58
  fucking tube. Since I ended up going along
• 26:08
  with the label of Christian, which for the longest time I
• 26:11
  fought hard to just call myself a God believer and a theist, I
• 26:22
  been around Christians. And I've been at a very There's
• 26:26
  been many times in my life where I find myself on a fork in the
• 26:30
  road, or I find myself in darkness and I rely and I depend
• 26:34
  on God. But if I reach out to
• 26:37
  Christians, they will give me some kind of justification or
• 26:40
  excuse why they won't support me or why they won't help me.
• 26:45
  I mean, ladies and gentlemen, here I am a popular former
• 26:49
  atheist who I became a fairly popular theist religious person.
• 26:55
  And I had Christians who claimed to be my friend in private.

  And then they would not want to have me on their broadcast or
• 27:05
  their shows simply because they didn't like the way I looked or
• 27:09
  because the way I talked. They didn't like the fact that I
• 27:12
  admittedly cuss or they thought I was too colorful.
• 27:17
  Some of them, they thought I was too harsh on non believers.
• 27:22
  And what's funny about that is whenever these religious people
• 27:26
  began becoming more popular themselves and they were
• 27:29
  destroyed by atheist or atheist attempted to embarrass them or
• 27:34
