- 0:00Speaker 1: Toby and Chili Mornings on demand on ninety seven point
- 0:04Speaker 1: one WASH.
- 0:05Speaker 2: All right, then Tuesday morning it is ninety seven point
- 0:09Speaker 2: one Wash FM Toby and Chilly in the Morning. Why
- 0:13Speaker 2: you feel it good today, Chilly Omar, What is bringing
- 0:15Speaker 2: me some joy before five o'clock in the morning.
- 0:18Speaker 3: I feel like a broken record because what's been sort
- 0:21Speaker 3: of taking over our household is my son's performance in
- 0:24Speaker 3: Alice in Wonderland for his school and one day down,
- 0:27Speaker 3: one more to go. After today, our lives will go
- 0:31Speaker 3: back to quote unquote normal.
- 0:32Speaker 4: And that's not a bad thing at all, now, is it. No?
- 0:36Speaker 2: No thanks, because anything that kind of up ends your routine,
- 0:42Speaker 2: your routine routine.
- 0:44Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 0:44Speaker 2: Look, I'm all about up ending a routine because I
- 0:46Speaker 2: think complacency stinks. But I also understand that with routines
- 0:52Speaker 2: you have to kind of you know, yeah, yeah, there's
- 0:55Speaker 2: a lot of people, a lot of moving parts.
- 0:57Speaker 3: Well, he had two performances yesterday and last night I
- 0:59Speaker 3: didn't get home until really late, like after nine wow.
- 1:02Speaker 3: And then same thing's going to be tonight. So you know,
- 1:05Speaker 3: for me selfishly, I'm looking forward to going back to
- 1:10Speaker 3: a normal schedule somewhat.
- 1:11Speaker 4: Why why are you feeling good on this Tuesday.
- 1:13Speaker 2: I'm feeling great because it's Tuesday, because I have physical
- 1:17Speaker 2: therapy today, because I've been making progress. I tested out
- 1:21Speaker 2: my knee big time over the weekend.
- 1:22Speaker 5: That was.
- 1:23Speaker 2: Didn't really say anything about it yesterday, but you know,
- 1:26Speaker 2: did a lot of walking when I went to see
- 1:27Speaker 2: the new Michael Jackson the.
- 1:29Speaker 4: Movie, the biopic, yeah, biopic.
- 1:32Speaker 2: Biopic, whatever you want to call it. It was good.
- 1:35Speaker 2: And what was even better for me was the fact
- 1:38Speaker 2: that I made it through with just a cane.
- 1:40Speaker 4: Nice. That's progress, Yes, from the roll later to the
- 1:43Speaker 4: cane yes.
- 1:44Speaker 2: And then now I'm back to where I was before
- 1:46Speaker 2: the third surgery. So knock on wood, nothing derails my progress.
- 1:51Speaker 4: Nice.
- 1:52Speaker 2: Anyway, Stay with TOBEA chilly in the morning. We got
- 1:54Speaker 2: the news for you coming up in just minutes. Top
- 1:56Speaker 2: Stories at the top of the hour. What are you
- 1:58Speaker 2: working on?
- 1:58Speaker 3: It seems that a lot of as misunderstand how long
- 2:01Speaker 3: they're likely to live in retirement. We've got that story
- 2:05Speaker 3: in more on the way in just minutes. Top Stories,
- 2:11Speaker 3: Top of the Hour. The man accused of opening fire
- 2:14Speaker 3: at the White House correspondent's dinner is now facing federal
- 2:17Speaker 3: charges including attempting to assassinate the President. Cole Allen will
- 2:22Speaker 3: spend life in prison if he's convicted well. Jimmy Kimmel
- 2:26Speaker 3: is defending a joke that drew backlash after that incident,
- 2:29Speaker 3: saying that it was meant as humor about the president's
- 2:32Speaker 3: age difference with his wife. He also pointed out that
- 2:35Speaker 3: the joke only drew serious backlash after the shooting At
- 2:38Speaker 3: the dinner. Kimmel said that he's been very vocal for
- 2:41Speaker 3: many years speaking out against gun violence. King Charles and
- 2:45Speaker 3: Queen Camilla continuing their visit to DC with meetings at
- 2:50Speaker 3: the White House and also a planned address to a
- 2:52Speaker 3: joint session of Congress today. Then there's going to be
- 2:55Speaker 3: a state dinner tonight. A Lorton man is facing multiple
- 2:59Speaker 3: charges after he broke into a Fairfax Stations church, stole property,
- 3:03Speaker 3: and then drove off in a church owned vehicle. He
- 3:07Speaker 3: was arrested less than twenty four hours later after a
- 3:09Speaker 3: licensed plate readers helped track him down. A Prince George's
- 3:14Speaker 3: County wine maker is facing a really tough season after
- 3:17Speaker 3: recent cold snaps destroyed budding vines at Jane Mark Winery
- 3:21Speaker 3: in Brandywine. While some secondary growth is possible, there's no
- 3:25Speaker 3: guarantee it's going to produce grapes, leaving next year's harvest
- 3:28Speaker 3: in doubt. And it seems many Americans misunderstand how long
- 3:32Speaker 3: they're likely to live in retirement, with only a third
- 3:36Speaker 3: correctly estimating life expectancy, which is about eighty four for
- 3:40Speaker 3: men and eighty seven for women. Experts warn that underestimating
- 3:44Speaker 3: longevity can lead to saving too little for what could
- 3:48Speaker 3: be a retirement lasting thirty years or more. Forecast today
- 3:52Speaker 3: cloudy with a chance of showers later hies around sixty five.
- 3:55Speaker 3: Right now fifty two in Chantilly.

- 4:08Speaker 2: Morning edition of your Morning Mindset, something we hope might
- 4:12Speaker 2: help you to take on the day or maybe even
- 4:15Speaker 2: turn your day around if you've been going at it
- 4:17Speaker 2: since early in the morning. We'll get to that coming
- 4:19Speaker 2: up in just minutes. With Toby and Chilly in the Morning,
- 4:21Speaker 2: stay right there, and we.
- 4:23Speaker 4: Are Toby and Chilly in the Morning.
- 4:24Speaker 2: It is ninety seven point one wash FM, Washington's variety
- 4:28Speaker 2: of the eighties, nineties, and today.
- 4:30Speaker 4: And it is now time for the morning mindset.
- 4:33Speaker 3: This is where we share a quote to have you
- 4:35Speaker 3: think about it as you take on the rest of
- 4:37Speaker 3: your day. Maybe get you to a better headspace.
- 4:39Speaker 2: All right, Banksy says, that's right, Banksy. You might recognize
- 4:43Speaker 2: the name. He's a prolific street artist. Banksy says, if
- 4:48Speaker 2: you get tired, learn to rest not quit. Now why
- 4:52Speaker 2: does this matter? Well, this matters because recovery is what
- 4:57Speaker 2: helps you and I keep our mission up live. In
- 5:01Speaker 2: Banksy's case, it is to have a social discourse on things.
- 5:05Speaker 2: So if you get tired, learn to rest not quit
- 5:09Speaker 2: and remember that this is important. Why because recovery keeps
- 5:14Speaker 2: your mission alive. Who knew Banksy with life advice? Keep
- 5:19Speaker 2: that in mind as you go through your day today.
- 5:21Speaker 2: Where Toby and Chilli in the morning, it's not Ey

- 5:56Speaker 2: the number? Hit us up, can't wait to hear, or
- 6:00Speaker 2: what your superpower is?
- 6:02Speaker 4: In justments.
- 6:03Speaker 2: You know what bums me out about today being National
- 6:05Speaker 2: superhero Dane?
- 6:06Speaker 4: What's that?
- 6:07Speaker 2: The US Mint had some like DC Comics coins of
- 6:11Speaker 2: Wonder Woman and Superman, and I didn't get a chance
- 6:14Speaker 2: to get them because well, I have other bills that
- 6:16Speaker 2: require me to pay attention to them and not go
- 6:20Speaker 2: buying superhero coins. Okay, but if the US men has
- 6:23Speaker 2: any still left, I might be interested at some point.
- 6:26Speaker 2: Toby and Chilly in the Morning, it is ninety seven
- 6:28Speaker 2: point one wash FM. Speaking of superheroes and superpowers. Everybody
- 6:33Speaker 2: I think has within them some degree of a superpower.
- 6:37Speaker 4: I would agree with that. I think we all have something.
- 6:39Speaker 2: We may not be able to fly, I may not
- 6:41Speaker 2: be able to shoot lasers out of my eye. Now
- 6:44Speaker 2: I think that you and I together have some interesting
- 6:47Speaker 2: superpowers we could unpack together right now?
- 6:49Speaker 4: Do you think it's my superpower?
- 6:51Speaker 3: Is the ability to imagine every worst case scenario within
- 6:54Speaker 3: a moment of seconds. Yes, that's he's anxious superpower.
- 7:01Speaker 4: Oh, it's the angst of the anxious superpowers.
- 7:05Speaker 2: I've witnessed it firsthand, God, and even third hand.
- 7:08Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 7:09Speaker 2: I'm not concerned that you're late. I just want to
- 7:11Speaker 2: know that you're okay. And I'm like, going now she
- 7:14Speaker 2: thinks that I might be on the side of the
- 7:15Speaker 2: road or something horrible happened. I think my superpower, if
- 7:19Speaker 2: I were to have one, is everything related to ADHD,
- 7:22Speaker 2: which people don't understand. It creates this air of instant
- 7:27Speaker 2: creativity for me. It allows me to look at things
- 7:30Speaker 2: and maybe it won't happen super fast, but I look
- 7:32Speaker 2: at it and I can figure out exactly what's going on,
- 7:35Speaker 2: why something might be broken. Just don't ask me to
- 7:37Speaker 2: get the laundry done or to do the dishes.
- 7:39Speaker 4: Everyday tasks, Yeah, who cares about that? Yeah, every day
- 7:42Speaker 4: tasks throughout the window.
- 7:43Speaker 3: All right, Well, I think we've got somebody on the
- 7:45Speaker 3: phone that wants to share their superpower.
- 7:48Speaker 4: Frank in silver Spring, go ahead, you're up. My personal
- 7:51Speaker 4: superpower is that I can.
- 7:52Speaker 6: Always pick the locked door.
- 7:55Speaker 4: In a bank of one thousand doors, one can be locked.
- 7:57Speaker 4: It'll be the first one I try every time. Or
- 7:59Speaker 4: maybe maybe that's my krip tonight. Hard to say. That
- 8:02Speaker 4: is very annoying that that happens to me.
- 8:04Speaker 3: Choo was well, when I walk into a store, Toby,
- 8:07Speaker 3: I don't know if you've ever had one of those,
- 8:08Speaker 3: is not always unlocked, and you think it's going to
- 8:10Speaker 3: be one, and it's the other one, and it just
- 8:12Speaker 3: gets me all kinds of discombobulated.
- 8:14Speaker 2: Yeah, that happens at the mall a lot. I wonder

- 21:16Speaker 3: Up, we know the King and Queen are in town
- 21:19Speaker 3: and of course they're being treated like royalty. But was
- 21:22Speaker 3: there ever a time in your life where you felt
- 21:25Speaker 3: like royalty?
- 21:26Speaker 2: Call us at eight sixty six, nine two, seven forty
- 21:28Speaker 2: three sixty one, tell us about that time you received

- 21:47Speaker 2: Britain and Northern Ireland came to town yesterday. They had
- 21:51Speaker 2: tea and crumpets and whatnot. And today things get very
- 21:55Speaker 2: very serious as King Charles addresses Congress and and there's
- 22:00Speaker 2: more going on.
- 22:01Speaker 3: Yeah, there's a White House state tenor tonight. I mean, look,
- 22:03Speaker 3: when the royals are in town or anywhere they go,
- 22:06Speaker 3: they are treated like royalty. That's expected. But do you
- 22:09Speaker 3: ever wonder what it would be like to be them
- 22:11Speaker 3: just for one day.
- 22:12Speaker 2: I personally love the fact that up and down Constitution
- 22:15Speaker 2: Avenue right now, and then up and down Pennsylvania Avenue,
- 22:19Speaker 2: they've got the American flag flying alongside of the Union Jack.
- 22:23Speaker 2: To me, it's little things like that that say, yeah,
- 22:26Speaker 2: you're here, your highness, we see you.
- 22:28Speaker 3: But there are times in our own lives and we're
- 22:30Speaker 3: not technically royalty where we felt like we were treated
- 22:33Speaker 3: like royalty. For me, it was like during our honeymoon
- 22:36Speaker 3: many years ago, right we got married and then we
- 22:38Speaker 3: went to Bora Bora and stayed in one of those
- 22:41Speaker 3: over the water huts. But everybody knows you're on your honeymoon,
- 22:44Speaker 3: so they give you all these extra perks, and it's amazing.
- 22:47Speaker 2: Every time I've ever been to Walt Disney World, I've
- 22:49Speaker 2: been treated like royalty. That it's nice, But what really
- 22:53Speaker 2: blew me away with the royal treatment Nema colin, Oh nah.
- 22:57Speaker 4: Oh, Nema colon. Save up the money, folks, don't mess
- 23:02Speaker 4: with mimical.
- 23:03Speaker 2: And I went when it was on sale right after
- 23:05Speaker 2: a pandemic, so don't think I go there every weekend.

- 23:26Speaker 2: thank you for listening to us in Manassas this morning.
- 23:29Speaker 4: Go ahead.
- 23:29Speaker 3: I went to like a gala event kind of thing,
- 23:33Speaker 3: and everybody had like.
- 23:34Speaker 8: Black tie, and it was a free ticket.
- 23:37Speaker 7: That I was dating this guy, and I had the
- 23:39Speaker 7: fanciest dinner I've ever had.
- 23:41Speaker 4: In my life, and I felt like the Queen. Did
- 23:43Speaker 4: anybody curtsy for you my chow tongue chili?
- 23:46Speaker 2: Nobody in this country curtsy's that's a British thing. They
- 23:50Speaker 2: do that in the presence of the royalty, although I
- 23:53Speaker 2: would curtsey in your presence.
- 23:54Speaker 4: Aaron, No, No, you're supposed to bow, Toby. Is that
- 23:57Speaker 4: how that works?
- 23:58Speaker 2: Yeah? See, America, if you have ever been treated like royalty,
- 24:02Speaker 2: we want to hear from you.
- 24:03Speaker 4: Give us a call. You know, the numbers to the place.
- 24:06Speaker 2: More of your royal treatment observations are on the way,
- 24:10Speaker 2: but first we got to get to the news top
- 24:12Speaker 2: stories at the top of the hour, Chilly, what's coming up?
- 24:14Speaker 3: Researchers found that there's a specific time of day when
- 24:19Speaker 3: cravings hit the hardest, making it very tough to continue
- 24:24Speaker 3: that diet of yours.
- 24:26Speaker 4: We'll tell you what time that happens to be coming
- 24:28Speaker 4: up next.
- 24:30Speaker 2: Think about what you would do first with an extra
- 24:33Speaker 2: thousand dollars if it just showed up in your bank account. Now,

- 25:55Speaker 3: where the King will deliver and address, and that's followed
- 25:58Speaker 3: by a state dinner this evening hosted by the President
