Perfect for summer. Luna: Ooh, I love ice cream. Okay, I need to know how to order. Lucas: First phrase: 'Ik wil graag een ijsje.' That means 'I would like an ice cream.' Say it with me: Ik wil graag een ijsje. Luna: Ik wil graag een ijsje. Lucas: Yes! Perfect. Now, the seller might ask what flavor. You can ask: 'Welke smaken heeft u?' — 'What flavors do you have?' Try it. Luna: Welke smaken heeft u? Lucas: Good. 'Welke smaken' — which flavors — 'heeft u' — do you have. Luna: Okay, so I walk in, I say 'Ik wil graag een ijsje', then 'Welke smaken heeft u?'. Lucas: Exactly. And then you'll hear the flavors. To ask for a scoop, say: 'Mag ik een bolletje?' — 'May I have one scoop?' Luna: Mag ik een bolletje? Lucas: Yes. 'Een bolletje' is one scoop. If you want two, 'twee bolletjes'. Luna: Got it. So 'Mag ik een bolletje vanille?' would be 'May I have a scoop of vanilla?' Lucas: Exactly. And 'vanille en chocolade' are two common flavors. Repeat: vanille en chocolade. Luna: Vanille en chocolade. Lucas: Now, after you choose, they'll tell you the price. You can ask: 'Hoeveel kost het?' — 'How much does it cost?' Say it. Luna: Hoeveel kost het? Lucas: Perfect. Let's put it all together in a little scene. Luna: Okay, I'm ready. Lucas: You walk up and say: 'Ik wil graag een ijsje.' Luna: Ik wil graag een ijsje. Lucas: The seller asks what flavor. You ask: 'Welke smaken heeft u?' Luna: Welke smaken heeft u? Lucas: They say 'vanille en chocolade'. You say: 'Mag ik een bolletje vanille en een bolletje chocolade?' Luna: Mag ik een bolletje vanille en een bolletje chocolade? Lucas: Then ask: 'Hoeveel kost het?' Luna: Hoeveel kost het? Lucas: They say 'drie euro'. You pay and say 'dank u wel'. Luna: Perfect. That's a whole conversation.
