- 0:27Hey everybody, good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:31So I'm going to ask you how often you ask somebody if they
- 0:37need your help and why is this an important question?
- 0:41Because sometimes we just try to ram into things and we don't
- 0:45actually ask permission 1st. And without question.
- 0:51Sometimes people do not want help, sometimes people want to
- 0:54do something on their own. And it's different when you say
- 0:59to somebody, you know, oh, I have an idea and you haven't
- 1:02asked permission. It's just not OK.
- 1:04Sometimes people don't want your ideas.
- 1:06As great as your ideas might be, they just don't want them.
- 1:09They they need to go through their process.
- 1:11And it's hard for us to watch because we're like, you don't
- 1:14need to run into the wall. I'm telling you, there's a wall
- 1:16right there. I've run into that wall.
- 1:17Let me tell you, I can help you. But the truth is.
- 1:21It's about us feeling like we're filling ourselves up by doing
- 1:24that, wanting to show that we have value, we matter.
- 1:27So we run it Russian and we run him up to it and it's like, oh,
- 1:31you know, I let me just tell you this and blah blah blah, but it
- 1:34doesn't help them and ultimately if you are.
- 1:39On this podcast and you listen regularly, you know there are
- 1:42certain ways of thinking. There's a specific mindset to
- 1:45what I come here and I teach you guys and I participate in.
- 1:48And that mindset has the tendency of for the greater good
- 1:52of yourself and for others. Being the best version of
- 1:54yourself has a very deep spiritual connotation to it.
- 1:59And one of the most important things that we can come to to
- 2:02conclusion with with this is that.
- 2:05You know, in the process of that, we know we we hit those
- 2:09altitudes that we want to go to with ourselves because we're
- 2:12operating in the greater good. But sometimes we do it like
- 2:16bowls in a China shop. Sometimes we have to stop and
- 2:19pause and say, you know what? I can offer my help.
- 2:23And if the person wants it, they may take it.
- 2:26And if they don't, that's OK. And you don't have to feel hurt,
- 2:30which is a big piece of it if you offer someone help and they
- 2:33don't take you up on it. It's OK you know that little
- 2:36phrase My grandpa used to use it all the time.
- 2:38You can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink.
- 2:41And it's so true and especially when offering help.
- 2:44So a few times this week I've been put in situations where I
- 2:48have offered help. I've said, hey, I'm absolutely
- 2:51happy to help. You just have to let me know and
- 2:56the whether or not they take you up on it is not going to affect
- 3:01my mood. I like I don't let it affect my
- 3:04mood. I.
- 3:04The offer, if they take me up, great.
- 3:06If they don't, I'm still great because my identity is not tied
- 3:10to that outcome. My identity is tied to the
- 3:12offering of the outcome. And actually, if they do it,
- 3:15then I'm, I'm excited to help. I'm thrilled to help, but I'm
- 3:20not going to allow that to make me feel less than if they don't
- 3:23take me up on it. So this is an exercise in
- 3:28awareness. This is an exercise in being
- 3:31very present with yourself and realizing that they're.
- 3:34Direction of your help is not about you.
- 3:36It's about them. It says more about them than it
- 3:39does about you. You offering your help says more
- 3:43about you than it does about them because it comes from the
- 3:46core of your identity. So be very careful about where
- 3:51you're making your offerings, be very careful about how you're
- 3:54making your offerings, and be very mindful of the fact that
- 3:57it's not about you. If you want to participate and
- 4:00you want to do that, it is amazing to do those things and
- 4:03to offer help to people. But you can't allow the offense
- 4:07to take over and find yourself feeling less than or hurt or
- 4:12weakened by Oh well, I'm just not going to offer to anybody
- 4:16anymore. I I heard that once this week
- 4:17from somebody and you know, I'm just not going to offer anymore.
- 4:20I'm like, well, doesn't offering make you feel good?
- 4:23Well, yes. Then why would you rob yourself
- 4:26of that experience? Well, because I my feelings are
- 4:28hurt that they don't let me help.
- 4:30OK, but that's not about you, that's about them.
- 4:33So please consider these points. Please think about your offers
- 4:38and please be very thoughtful with them and do it in a way
- 4:41that is not meant to offend yourself, not meant to offend
- 4:45anybody else, just an offer and it makes you feel good knowing
- 4:48you threw it out there. I hope you guys have an
- 4:51incredibly blessed day and I hope wherever you are, it's not
- 4:54as hot as it is where I am. So have a blessed day you guys,
- 4:58and I will see you tomorrow. Bye.
