- 0:27Speaker 1: It is day four of Wicked and Grim's Halloween Week,
- 0:32Speaker 1: and though the stories covered thus far were dark and grand,
- 0:37Speaker 1: I know many of you have truly been anticipating today's
- 0:41Speaker 1: episode above all else. Ladies, gentlemen, they's and m's. My
- 0:50Speaker 1: name is Jacko, and it is my privilege to be
- 0:54Speaker 1: your MC for the fourth year running through Halloween Week.
- 1:00Speaker 1: As traditions continue, Today, your hosts will discuss three different
- 1:07Speaker 1: urban legends. You will be presented with three tales, two
- 1:12Speaker 1: of which are false and one of which is true.
- 1:17Speaker 1: It is up to you to consider the facts and
- 1:19Speaker 1: make your best guess as to which story is which.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Of course, the truth will be revealed at the end
- 1:28Speaker 1: of the episode. But to get to the truth, I
- 1:32Speaker 1: must introduce the hosts of Wicked and Grim so they
- 1:36Speaker 1: can tell you these three tales. Here they are the
- 1:41Speaker 1: only people who could ever host Wiki and Grim to
- 1:46Speaker 1: its fullest, Ben and Nicole.
- 1:52Speaker 2: It's officially three Urban Legends Day.
- 1:55Speaker 3: YEP, fan favorite for sure, and every.
- 1:58Speaker 2: The last like two years, I'm like, I don't know
- 2:00Speaker 2: if we can keep doing this because they're the urban
- 2:02Speaker 2: legend stuff on the internet there. It seriously lacks facts.
- 2:06Speaker 3: Well, and shit's going to go down if one year
- 2:09Speaker 3: we can't.
- 2:09Speaker 2: Do this, I know, but it's here this year, and
- 2:13Speaker 2: as I said last year, I will do my best
- 2:16Speaker 2: for next but I cannot promise it will return.
- 2:19Speaker 3: So we better just enjoy it well here.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Exactly enjoy it while it lasts. We hope it can
- 2:24Speaker 2: return for next year, so long as I can find
- 2:26Speaker 2: three appropriate urban legends and facts behind them to prove
- 2:30Speaker 2: things either right or true or false or whatever. Right.
- 2:34Speaker 2: So that's the stipulation. But for now, you can enjoy
- 2:37Speaker 2: this one.
- 2:38Speaker 3: And today we got two false one true. Yes that
- 2:42Speaker 3: I got. I'm gonna make some guesses on here.
- 2:44Speaker 2: So three urban legends, two of them are false. I'm
- 2:48Speaker 2: going to go through the story one at a time. Okay.
- 2:52Speaker 2: I have left out some information on the stories.
- 2:55Speaker 3: Okay, Okay.
- 2:56Speaker 2: Once we discover the true and the false, we will
- 2:59Speaker 2: then go through the room aiming information to divulge the facts.
- 3:03Speaker 2: What and you know, the things that actually will tell
- 3:06Speaker 2: you it's true and false?
- 3:07Speaker 3: Okay, this is exciting. I'm excited too.
- 3:10Speaker 2: So when you hear an urban legend, oftentimes you hear
- 3:12Speaker 2: the bit of the story and you're like, oh my god,
- 3:14Speaker 2: is this a true story? Yeah, and that's the sort
- 3:17Speaker 2: of stuff that you'll get afterwards. And I'm telling you
- 3:19Speaker 2: just that urban legend portion to start with.
- 3:21Speaker 3: Okay, okay, you're ready for this, Yeah I am.
- 3:27Speaker 2: Okay, Well let's start. So the first story starts in
- 3:33Speaker 2: two thousand and eight, when something incredible yet very disturbing
- 3:38Speaker 2: happened in Massachusetts. You see, in the United States alone,
- 3:42Speaker 2: more than one hundred thousand people are on the waiting
- 3:45Speaker 2: list to receive a kidney transplant. To make matters worse,
- 3:49Speaker 2: need for these transplants are increased by approximately eight percent
- 3:52Speaker 2: every year that goes by. However, around only seventeen thousand
- 3:58Speaker 2: people will actually receive a kidney trans plant each year,
- 4:01Speaker 2: which means that only seventeen percent of people have a
- 4:04Speaker 2: chance at receiving a new kidney. It's a grim diagnosis
- 4:07Speaker 2: when received, but still many people keep their hopes up
- 4:10Speaker 2: and wait for that fateful call to come in to
- 4:13Speaker 2: tell them that they have a donor now. On March
- 4:17Speaker 2: tenth of two thousand and eight, a General hospital in
- 4:20Speaker 2: Boston received a donation like anything they've ever received before.
- 4:25Speaker 2: In the middle of the night, security cameras captured a
- 4:28Speaker 2: man dropping off a container to one of the doors
- 4:30Speaker 2: of the hospital and went opened. Inside the container contained
- 4:36Speaker 2: two hundred human kidneys.
- 4:39Speaker 3: O man, okay, you good, Yeah, that is interesting.
- 4:47Speaker 2: Yeah, to say the.
- 4:47Speaker 3: Least, I thought you were going to save two. Then
- 4:50Speaker 3: it's two hundred.
- 4:52Speaker 2: Two hundred human kidneys. Now, these kidneys were in immaculate
- 4:56Speaker 2: condition and appeared to have been removed from their hosts
- 4:59Speaker 2: within in the last twenty four hours. Along with the kidneys,
- 5:03Speaker 2: a note was left behind, and the note read quote,
- 5:06Speaker 2: this is only the beginning, meaning most likely that there
- 5:12Speaker 2: was more donations to come.
- 5:14Speaker 3: Expect more to come.
- 5:16Speaker 2: Staff sorted through the organs, and to their surprise, it
- 5:21Speaker 2: seemed that whoever removed them knew exactly what they were doing.
- 5:25Speaker 2: They were very clean, They were taken out with immaculate skill,
- 5:29Speaker 2: you name it. Though there was never it was never
- 5:32Speaker 2: known who the man was, who dropped them off, or
- 5:35Speaker 2: who the kidneys belonged to. The organs went on to
- 5:38Speaker 2: save many people's lives.
- 5:40Speaker 3: They used them.
- 5:42Speaker 2: The man never returned to make another donation, and his
- 5:45Speaker 2: identity remains a mystery to this day.
- 5:49Speaker 3: Holy shit, that.
- 5:51Speaker 2: Is urban legend number one. Okay, do you want to
- 5:55Speaker 2: break that one down a little bit? In your thoughts
- 5:57Speaker 2: so far?
- 5:58Speaker 3: Oh man, I am like, am I allowed to say
- 6:05Speaker 3: what I feel like it is?
- 6:07Speaker 2: I can't remember how the yes definitely go for I'm
- 6:09Speaker 2: gonna say nothing, yeah, but you feel free to say
- 6:11Speaker 2: your thoughts and everything.
- 6:12Speaker 3: I feel like I'm going to go false with this one,
- 6:15Speaker 3: but like I mean, I could change my answers as
- 6:18Speaker 3: I hear the other two because I feel as though
- 6:22Speaker 3: I would have heard something about this because it wasn't
- 6:25Speaker 3: really that long ago. That's a wild story, and I
- 6:29Speaker 3: just feel like that would have caught my attention. Okay, Okay,
- 6:33Speaker 3: I would have, you know, seen that on the interwebs
- 6:36Speaker 3: and been like, the fuck.
- 6:38Speaker 2: Well, there is a news story on YouTube with this
- 6:42Speaker 2: that does have millions of us.
- 6:44Speaker 3: Okay, I'm not really a YouTuber.
- 6:46Speaker 2: There is a video with a news anchor reporting on
- 6:50Speaker 2: this and everything, and it has millions of use.
- 6:55Speaker 3: Hmm. Okay, I'm gonna stick with my that that's false
- 6:58Speaker 3: for now, Okay, for now.
- 6:59Speaker 2: The only reason I'm telling you that piece of information
- 7:01Speaker 2: is because you're like, I feel I would have saw
- 7:03Speaker 2: something on this. It's out there. People know about this, But.
- 7:07Speaker 3: That doesn't mean that all the shit out there is true.
- 7:10Speaker 2: Oh for sure, it could be false. It could be true.
- 7:13Speaker 3: We'll make a weird shit all the time.
- 7:15Speaker 2: I'm just letting you know that there is information out
- 7:18Speaker 2: there and you haven't come across.
- 7:19Speaker 3: Well. I mean, I would love for that to be true,
- 7:21Speaker 3: because that's I gets it's kind of cool. But then
- 7:24Speaker 3: it's also like, where the fuck did those come from?
- 7:27Speaker 3: And that's a bit alarming.
- 7:28Speaker 2: Fair enough, you're ready to move on to the second one? Yes, okay,
- 7:33Speaker 2: So urban legend number two, and I'm going to quote
- 7:37Speaker 2: something here. An entire classroom, along with their art teacher,
- 7:41Speaker 2: disappeared in Romola. Police source state that the circumstances of
- 7:45Speaker 2: their disappearance are very ambiguous. An official source in the
- 7:49Speaker 2: Ministry of Education said there's no evidence of a criminal
- 7:53Speaker 2: or political crime and that the investigation is still ongoing.
- 7:58Speaker 2: Now this is taken from a article written regarding the story,
- 8:04Speaker 2: but it gets even stranger from here. The year was
- 8:08Speaker 2: nineteen eighty eight and a class of students disappeared. Mister
- 8:13Speaker 2: Dubois was the teacher, and he took his students into
- 8:15Speaker 2: the woods on the school grounds on one Tuesday afternoon.
- 8:19Speaker 2: It was nice and sunny, nice weather outside. It was
- 8:22Speaker 2: perfect for an outdoor lesson. However, as the day went
- 8:25Speaker 2: on and the bell rang for the next portion of
- 8:27Speaker 2: the day, no one from the class returned back to school.
- 8:32Speaker 2: Search parties were sent out across the school grounds, but
- 8:34Speaker 2: not a single one of them were anywhere to be found.
- 8:37Speaker 2: Authorities were quickly called to assess the scene, but they
- 8:41Speaker 2: too came up empty handed in their search. All they
- 8:44Speaker 2: found were some footprints from the class and a ribbon
- 8:47Speaker 2: that someone had dropped. Now, the ribbon was part of
- 8:49Speaker 2: the school uniform and many of the girls use this
- 8:52Speaker 2: ribbon to tie their hair back. As the search continued,
- 8:56Speaker 2: there was no sign of the class or the teacher,
- 8:59Speaker 2: mister Dubois, anywhere. The search continued as days turned into weeks,
- 9:04Speaker 2: and eventually in two years. It would be forty years
- 9:07Speaker 2: later before a break in the case would finally occur.
- 9:12Speaker 2: A homeless woman was seen walking on the side of
- 9:14Speaker 2: the road through town. She stopped and talked to a
- 9:17Speaker 2: few people who were busy making their way to work
- 9:19Speaker 2: or doing whatever they were doing right and she was
- 9:21Speaker 2: looking for the police station. They sent her in the
- 9:24Speaker 2: right direction where she was asking, and she continued on
- 9:27Speaker 2: her way until she arrived at her destination. Once there,
- 9:30Speaker 2: she told officers that she had something that she needed
- 9:32Speaker 2: to tell them. She knew what happened to that class
- 9:36Speaker 2: that disappeared forty years earlier. Officers listened to her, but
- 9:40Speaker 2: didn't really believe her. They tried to send her on
- 9:43Speaker 2: her way, thinking that she's just some crazy, homeless lady,
- 9:45Speaker 2: but she refused, and eventually the station's chief emerged from
- 9:49Speaker 2: his office due to the commotion that was occurring in
- 9:51Speaker 2: her refusing to leave. She told him that she knew
- 9:54Speaker 2: what happened to and like the others, he didn't believe her,
- 9:58Speaker 2: that is until she handed him so thing. It was
- 10:02Speaker 2: an old, tattered, pink ribbon. The chief, in an instant
- 10:07Speaker 2: recognized it. He returned to a back room, unlocked a cabinet,
- 10:11Speaker 2: and removed a ribbon collected from the incident all those
- 10:14Speaker 2: years ago, and he matched it up with the one
- 10:16Speaker 2: that was just handed to him. Though this woman now sorry,
- 10:20Speaker 2: though this ribbon now is old and tattered, it was
- 10:23Speaker 2: a perfect match to the ribbon he held in evidence.
- 10:28Speaker 2: The woman identified herself as Sophie, and she said that
- 10:31Speaker 2: she was a part of that class and she could
- 10:34Speaker 2: tell them exactly what happened to her and her classmates
- 10:39Speaker 2: that Surban legend number two?
- 10:40Speaker 3: What what?
- 10:43Speaker 2: Yep? That's all you get.
- 10:45Speaker 3: I need way more information than that.
- 10:47Speaker 2: That's all you get.
- 10:50Speaker 3: Shit?
- 10:53Speaker 2: Huh Okay, what's your thoughts on that one?
- 11:00Speaker 3: False?
- 11:01Speaker 2: You think it's false?
- 11:02Speaker 3: Yeah, because that is just like craziness that a whole
- 11:06Speaker 3: freaking class and their teacher just disappears in thin air.
- 11:10Speaker 3: You know, unless this well, this person, I guess Okay, sorry,
- 11:14Speaker 3: did you say this person was in that class?
- 11:18Speaker 2: Uh? Yes, she identified herself as Sophie, said she was
- 11:21Speaker 2: a part of that class and went missing with the class,
- 11:23Speaker 2: and she could say what happened, but she's.
- 11:25Speaker 3: Still alive today or not today? At that at that point, Umm, okay.
- 11:35Speaker 2: The gears are turning and I'm loving that.
- 11:37Speaker 3: What was Okay? You did say something about forty? Was
- 11:40Speaker 3: she forty? She was?
- 11:41Speaker 2: It was forty years later? Yeah later?
- 11:46Speaker 3: Okay?
- 11:48Speaker 2: Ready for urban legend number three?
- 11:50Speaker 3: Um?
- 11:54Speaker 2: Yeah, okay. So Rochelle was a twenty seven old woman
- 12:00Speaker 2: and lived in Derby, England. She, like many of us,
- 12:04Speaker 2: worked a nice steady job and saved up a bit
- 12:06Speaker 2: for a vacation whenever she could. And so that's exactly
- 12:09Speaker 2: what she did. Together with her boyfriend James, they made
- 12:13Speaker 2: their way to South America and more specifically into Peru. Together.
- 12:17Speaker 2: The two of them were indulging in typical touristy type things,
- 12:20Speaker 2: you know, sight seeing, relaxing, probably drinking a little bit
- 12:23Speaker 2: too much and eating a little bit too much as well,
- 12:26Speaker 2: who's to say exactly, but they were out enjoying their
- 12:28Speaker 2: time traveling. However, while they were there and nearing the
- 12:32Speaker 2: end of their trip, Rochelle began to develop a sharp,
- 12:35Speaker 2: shooting pain down the side of her face. It started
- 12:38Speaker 2: out slowly, but eventually it went from her ear and
- 12:42Speaker 2: down into her jaw. The pain only grew as the
- 12:45Speaker 2: days passed, and eventually when they had already returned home.
- 12:48Speaker 2: At this point, the pain developed into some hearing problems
- 12:51Speaker 2: as well. Rochelle began to hear some sort of white
- 12:53Speaker 2: noise akin to like scratching sound in her ear. It
- 12:57Speaker 2: was very painful and annoying, and she began to think
- 12:59Speaker 2: this developed an ear infection while was on while on
- 13:02Speaker 2: vacation that was potentially caused by like a mosquito bite
- 13:05Speaker 2: or something. So she made her way to seek out
- 13:07Speaker 2: medical treatment. It was at the Royal Derby Hospital in England,
- 13:11Speaker 2: where a doctor questioned her and examined Rochelle. She told
- 13:16Speaker 2: him of her trip and when it all started, and
- 13:19Speaker 2: things were routine at first, but it all changed when
- 13:21Speaker 2: the doctor began to examine examine her. The doctor looked
- 13:25Speaker 2: inside her ear for inflammation and signs of an ear infection,
- 13:29Speaker 2: and the doctor immediately noticed her ear canal was filled
- 13:33Speaker 2: with maggots.
- 13:34Speaker 3: Oh god, damn. Okay.
- 13:36Speaker 2: They were moving and wriggling, causing the pain and the
- 13:40Speaker 2: scratching sound she was hearing.
- 13:42Speaker 3: Gross.
- 13:42Speaker 2: It appeared while on vacation, an insect of sort had
- 13:45Speaker 2: landed in her ear and laid eggs inside her head.
- 13:51Speaker 2: That is urban legend number three.
- 13:54Speaker 3: Shit.
- 13:55Speaker 2: Two of those urban legends are false. One of those
- 13:57Speaker 2: urban legend legends is true. What are your thoughts?
- 14:01Speaker 3: Oh god? Okay, just wait that one? She lived in England?
- 14:07Speaker 2: Correct?
- 14:08Speaker 3: And sorry? Where did she go on holiday? Okay?
- 14:17Speaker 2: Oh God, dissect this speak out loud. I want to
- 14:19Speaker 2: know where your thoughts thought process is going here.
- 14:22Speaker 3: I feel okay, I feel like that one me is
- 14:26Speaker 3: is the I think that one makes sense to be true,
- 14:35Speaker 3: but then I also feel like it's it is too easy.
- 14:39Speaker 2: Then you know, what do you mean too easy?
- 14:42Speaker 3: Then, well, I just feel like that one could happen
- 14:45Speaker 3: quite easily.
- 14:46Speaker 2: Could these all not have happened quite easily?
- 14:48Speaker 3: No?
- 14:49Speaker 2: Okay, well start with which one could not happen quite easily?
- 14:53Speaker 2: Start with that?
- 14:54Speaker 3: Okay, Well, I am going to I'm going to nail
- 14:57Speaker 3: down the middle one as being false.
- 14:58Speaker 2: The middle one. You're going to nail down the disappearing
- 15:02Speaker 2: class of nineteen eighty eight. Yeah, and why is that?
- 15:06Speaker 3: Because I also don't think the dates in that matchup
- 15:09Speaker 3: very well. The forty year thing threw me off, and
- 15:11Speaker 3: I just think.
- 15:13Speaker 2: What do you mean the dates don't match up on
- 15:14Speaker 2: that well?
- 15:15Speaker 3: Because this I think the thing happened in like eighty eight, correct,
- 15:20Speaker 3: And so then there's not enough time that have passed
- 15:23Speaker 3: for that to be forty years correct. So I'm saying
- 15:27Speaker 3: that's false, okay, because I was born in eighty eight
- 15:31Speaker 3: and I ain't forty yet, correct. So I'm going to
- 15:37Speaker 3: go with that one as being false.
- 15:39Speaker 2: Okay. Well, I already said said it, So I will
- 15:43Speaker 2: give you this one. That one is false, but we
- 15:45Speaker 2: will get to the So you got that one, right,
- 15:47Speaker 2: I won't say anything.
- 15:48Speaker 3: I've got one motherfucking golden star.
- 15:50Speaker 2: Yeah, you got one gold star, Okay, but now you're
- 15:54Speaker 2: between fuck, I can't even remember the first one out,
- 15:59Speaker 2: all right, the kidney don'ate and the maggots, Yeah, being
- 16:03Speaker 2: laid in her ear.
- 16:04Speaker 3: I just feel like the maggot is like a possibility,
- 16:07Speaker 3: like that could happen very much. So this is like
- 16:11Speaker 3: I am just going on a tangent here, but I
- 16:13Speaker 3: was watching a chicken video and this it was a duck.
- 16:19Speaker 3: I think this damn duck had like something laid inside
- 16:24Speaker 3: the ducks vent, which is like their butt kind of thing,
- 16:26Speaker 3: and then they'd like flush it out, and all these
- 16:28Speaker 3: maggots were coming out. She's nasty. Yeah, So I feel
- 16:33Speaker 3: like that could happen in someone's ear, Okay, but then
- 16:37Speaker 3: it seems like too easy. But then the two hundred
- 16:42Speaker 3: kidney thing, I also feel like in two thousand and eight,
- 16:45Speaker 3: I am unsure if two hundred kidneys just randomly got
- 16:50Speaker 3: delivered to a hospital they would actually use them. Okay. Yeah,
- 16:55Speaker 3: I'm gonna go with that one being false and the
- 16:57Speaker 3: ear one being true.
- 17:00Speaker 2: Okay, So for the official count or whatever you want
- 17:06Speaker 2: to say here, two hundred kidney donation is false, and
- 17:10Speaker 2: you're going with class of nineteen eighty eight disappearing is false,
- 17:14Speaker 2: and the maggots being found in your ear after vacation
- 17:17Speaker 2: is true. Okay, well, I already told you that the
- 17:21Speaker 2: class of nineteen eighty eight was false, So we're going
- 17:24Speaker 2: to start by dissecting that one. Oh it's the weight,
- 17:27Speaker 2: okayit so the disappearing class of nineteen eighty eight. This
- 17:32Speaker 2: is a story that has been going absolutely viral on
- 17:35Speaker 2: platforms like TikTok over the past few years. If you
- 17:38Speaker 2: look it up, there are tiktoks with millions of views
- 17:42Speaker 2: on this story, and unfortunately the video always abruptly ends
- 17:46Speaker 2: right before the woman reveals any details. Abou what happens
- 17:50Speaker 2: to the class?
- 17:52Speaker 3: Yeah, that is freaking annoying.
- 17:54Speaker 2: Yeah, there actually was a clear hint in this story
- 18:00Speaker 2: to tell you that it was false, and you caught it.
- 18:02Speaker 2: It's that nineteen eighty eight when it occurred and forty
- 18:06Speaker 2: years later. That doesn't line up, but that's how it's
- 18:09Speaker 2: always told in these TikTok stories. In nineteen eighty eight,
- 18:12Speaker 2: this occurred, and forty years later, do your fucking math,
- 18:16Speaker 2: you know, like, yeah, that doesn't make any sense.
- 18:18Speaker 3: I am actually a little bit surprised that I caught that.
- 18:21Speaker 3: But I'm wondering if I got that because it was
- 18:24Speaker 3: like the year.
- 18:25Speaker 2: The year we're born. Yeah, but yeah, so it happened
- 18:29Speaker 2: allegedly in April of nineteen eighty eight, which means that
- 18:31Speaker 2: would have only been thirty six years ago, not forty.
- 18:35Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 18:36Speaker 2: So, while we don't exactly know who started this urban legend,
- 18:39Speaker 2: we are pretty sure we know where they got the
- 18:42Speaker 2: idea from and where it originated from. There is a
- 18:45Speaker 2: short story called The Classroom That Disappeared by an individual
- 18:48Speaker 2: named Ziad Kadash who was a Palestinian short story writer,
- 18:53Speaker 2: and he published this Classroom that Disappeared story in twenty
- 18:56Speaker 2: twenty one, which is right before this story began circulating
- 19:00Speaker 2: on social media. Yeah, now Zad's story. In this one,
- 19:07Speaker 2: the children go missing within the school after the art
- 19:09Speaker 2: teacher encourages the student to challenge the class of students
- 19:13Speaker 2: to challenge channel. There we go channel their inner animal.
- 19:18Speaker 2: While the fate of the children remains completely open, they
- 19:21Speaker 2: do disappear. He doesn't actually say what happens to him.
- 19:24Speaker 2: It's open to interpretation. From my interpretation. With the story,
- 19:28Speaker 2: they listen to their art teacher and channel channel their
- 19:31Speaker 2: inner animals, and while doing so, they are set free
- 19:34Speaker 2: from being human. That's how I interpret it, but it
- 19:39Speaker 2: is open ended. But in that story is we are
- 19:43Speaker 2: pretty sure is where this urban legend gained its roots.
- 19:49Speaker 2: Huh Okay, yeah, and it is very very false. And
- 19:53Speaker 2: Zad's story is very obviously a fictional story and someone
- 19:57Speaker 2: just clearly tried to adapt it into something for social media. Okay,
- 20:02Speaker 2: now do you want me to talk about which one
- 20:05Speaker 2: do you want me to go first? The two hundred
- 20:07Speaker 2: kidneys or the bugs in the ear?
- 20:11Speaker 3: The bugs in the ear.
- 20:12Speaker 2: Bugs in the ear. Okay, So, when Rachelle and her
- 20:18Speaker 2: boyfriend went on a trip to Peru, she had an
- 20:20Speaker 2: unlucky encounter with a New World screwwormfly when she walked
- 20:26Speaker 2: through a swarm of insects. And this story is very
- 20:30Speaker 2: much so true. Oh yes, yes, I got it, you
- 20:37Speaker 2: got it.
- 20:38Speaker 3: Oh so shit, that's terrifying, disgust stinging, so brutal, and
- 20:42Speaker 3: I wish it was false.
- 20:43Speaker 2: Do you wish it was false? Well, it's very much
- 20:45Speaker 2: so true. Rochelle Endure, this this happened to her. She
- 20:49Speaker 2: remembers the incident of actually walking through this swarm of insects,
- 20:53Speaker 2: and there was a bug that flew into her ear briefly,
- 20:56Speaker 2: but she quickly swatted it away and didn't think anything
- 20:59Speaker 2: of it because it happened so quickly. But little did
- 21:01Speaker 2: she know in that brief moment that's all the fly
- 21:04Speaker 2: needed to lay its eggs inside her ear canal.
- 21:08Speaker 3: Holy shit.
- 21:09Speaker 2: Yeah, so these these screwworm flies are very notorious against
- 21:14Speaker 2: livestock their pests and also seek out pets, zoo animals,
- 21:18Speaker 2: and occasionally humans as hosts for laying their eggs. Now,
- 21:24Speaker 2: when Rachelle visited the doctor, they were discovered. They knew
- 21:28Speaker 2: that surgery needed to immediately happen, and they didn't want
- 21:33Speaker 2: these things to go too deep and cause permanent damage
- 21:35Speaker 2: and everything, right, like, who knows what could happen? But
- 21:39Speaker 2: after the maggots were removed, they discovered a total of
- 21:42Speaker 2: eight maggots that were in her ear and hatched from eggs,
- 21:46Speaker 2: and they actually began feasting on her flesh as they
- 21:49Speaker 2: had chewed a twelve millimeter deep hole into her ear canal,
- 21:54Speaker 2: which explains both the pain and the sounds she was hearing.
- 21:58Speaker 2: Rachelle initially was terrified that they got too deep into
- 22:01Speaker 2: a brain upon hearing like the too deep in like
- 22:04Speaker 2: causing brain damage. That was her first instinct, like, oh
- 22:06Speaker 2: my god, how far are they? But like that's it
- 22:09Speaker 2: would have been, like hearing damage. I don't think they
- 22:11Speaker 2: would have got to the brain sort of thing.
- 22:12Speaker 3: But anyway they could have if it got left long
- 22:14Speaker 3: enough potentially.
- 22:15Speaker 2: I mean technically speaking, I'm sure yes. But yeah, the
- 22:19Speaker 2: surgery was a success and she suffered no long term
- 22:23Speaker 2: effects from this incident, but she did say that the
- 22:26Speaker 2: incident has left her no longer squeamish of bugs.
- 22:30Speaker 3: Really, I feel like that would make it worse.
- 22:32Speaker 2: I think from here on out, a bug crawling on
- 22:35Speaker 2: your hand is not near as bad what you've gone
- 22:37Speaker 2: through before.
- 22:38Speaker 3: Well, so that one I kind of also felt was
- 22:41Speaker 3: true because it makes sense that you know, you would
- 22:44Speaker 3: hear like the scratchiness and stuff, right, I think you
- 22:48Speaker 3: had a bug living bugs living in there. But my god,
- 22:52Speaker 3: that is nasty shit. Yep, Like holy, I feel like
- 22:58Speaker 3: I would just never want to travel or do anything
- 23:00Speaker 3: ever again ever again?
- 23:02Speaker 2: Yeah, I know, right, huh, And that's why we live
- 23:05Speaker 2: in Canada.
- 23:06Speaker 3: I don't know that stuff can happen probably other places,
- 23:10Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 23:10Speaker 2: Yeah, but it's not likely to happen in Canada. We
- 23:13Speaker 2: deal with cold ass winners, so we don't have that shit,
- 23:16Speaker 2: you know. Oh yeah, that is gross and that leads
- 23:21Speaker 2: us to the two hundred kidney donation.
- 23:24Speaker 3: Okay, I just have to say, I'm pretty proud of
- 23:27Speaker 3: myself right here.
- 23:28Speaker 2: You did good in all honesty, so little pat on
- 23:31Speaker 2: the back to you. You killed it.
- 23:33Speaker 3: I already gave myself that pat on the back, can't
- 23:35Speaker 3: you tell I did?
- 23:37Speaker 2: Now, this story is not true, even in the slightest.
- 23:39Speaker 2: If you think about it for a moment, you would
- 23:41Speaker 2: understand that even if they it did happen, If two
- 23:44Speaker 2: hundred organs were dropped off on the doorstep, there's no
- 23:46Speaker 2: way medical staff would allow for these organs to actually
- 23:49Speaker 2: be used after being donated. They're most likely not ethically harvested, harvested,
- 23:53Speaker 2: and possibly even diseased, even if they were in perfect condition.
- 23:57Speaker 3: Right, Okay, so that's kind of what I said. Look
- 24:00Speaker 3: at me, I was really using mynogan.
- 24:02Speaker 2: You were you killed it. Now. It's hard to track
- 24:06Speaker 2: down the origins of urban legends, but I believe I
- 24:08Speaker 2: may have figured this one out. The oldest post that
- 24:11Speaker 2: I found regarding This on the Internet is a sixteen
- 24:15Speaker 2: year old video posted by The Onion, which is an
- 24:18Speaker 2: American digital media company and newspaper organization that publishes satirical
- 24:23Speaker 2: articles so joke things and falsified things and stuff like that,
- 24:28Speaker 2: like Bigfoot going to the met Gallot like that sort
- 24:31Speaker 2: of bullshit. Right, the video that I talked about is
- 24:35Speaker 2: very real. It's very much so like. It looks like
- 24:37Speaker 2: a news thing. They interview doctors in the hospital, they
- 24:39Speaker 2: show the security footage, the note, all this sort of stuff.
- 24:42Speaker 2: They going through the kidneys, you name. It seems very legit.
- 24:47Speaker 2: It shows all the information I talked about in the
- 24:50Speaker 2: little urban legend thingy. But most importantly, the video is
- 24:54Speaker 2: in fact fake. Many of the things in the video
- 24:56Speaker 2: are overdone and made to be a little bit on
- 25:00Speaker 2: the comedic side. But if you not want to question
- 25:02Speaker 2: what you're watching, this looks very real, like a real
- 25:05Speaker 2: news story. But the biggest hint of all is at
- 25:10Speaker 2: the end of the video when they go into the
- 25:12Speaker 2: next new story. There's like a three second clip before
- 25:14Speaker 2: it cuts off, and they're like, and next in news,
- 25:17Speaker 2: a grenade eating competition goes bad, and then it cuts off.
- 25:20Speaker 2: It's like.
- 25:22Speaker 3: Okay.
- 25:23Speaker 2: Yeah, so if you pay attention to these things, you know, yeah,
- 25:27Speaker 2: but a lot of people believed it to be true.
- 25:30Speaker 3: So yeah, do you want to I'm going to I'm
- 25:33Speaker 3: going to embarrass myself here.
- 25:35Speaker 2: Oh do it?
- 25:36Speaker 3: Okay because this also went through my mind, which has
- 25:38Speaker 3: a bit embarrassing. But that's great because you know that
- 25:42Speaker 3: show I watch Grey's Anatomy. Yes, they often will use
- 25:47Speaker 3: you know, I don't know if always all their stories
- 25:50Speaker 3: are true, but sometimes they're based on like true things
- 25:53Speaker 3: that have happened, right, And I'm like, gosh, that is
- 25:55Speaker 3: that one that one would be on Grey's Anatomy. It's
- 25:58Speaker 3: like so resting that they would put that, you know,
- 26:01Speaker 3: on the show or something or and I was like,
- 26:04Speaker 3: I haven't seen that on the show, so it must
- 26:05Speaker 3: be false. But I also thought it through too about
- 26:08Speaker 3: you know, they wouldn't actually use that in two thousand
- 26:10Speaker 3: and eight kind of thing. And yeah, but yeah, there
- 26:13Speaker 3: you go my thought process.
- 26:14Speaker 2: Yeah. And in that that quote unquote news video, they
- 26:19Speaker 2: are praising the individual who dropped these off as like
- 26:21Speaker 2: like a hero sort of thing.
- 26:23Speaker 3: No, I know, because how on earth did they get
- 26:26Speaker 3: two hundred of them? They would be like a serial killer.
- 26:29Speaker 2: Yeah, no one's like, I mean, of course they're like
- 26:31Speaker 2: where do they come from? But no one's like second
- 26:33Speaker 2: guessing it. There's like yeah, sweet like free kidneys.
- 26:36Speaker 3: But I yeah, if something like that happened too, there
- 26:39Speaker 3: would be you know, a trail of bodies too to
- 26:43Speaker 3: go with.
- 26:43Speaker 2: It, most likely, especially if they've all been removed in
- 26:45Speaker 2: the last twenty four.
- 26:46Speaker 3: Hours exactly, so that would go noticed.
- 26:50Speaker 2: Yeah, for sure. So I'm curious how you guys did.
- 26:53Speaker 2: Make sure you let us know on social media, shoot
- 26:55Speaker 2: us a message, whatever you need to do.
- 26:57Speaker 3: Well, we definitely have to post about this one. We
- 26:58Speaker 3: haven't been very good about yeah, but I think this
- 27:02Speaker 3: one we should so that people can say their guesses
- 27:05Speaker 3: and stuff.
- 27:05Speaker 2: For sure, We'll make sure we do a post about it,
- 27:07Speaker 2: so you guys can go and let us know. Only
- 27:11Speaker 2: a few days left, yeah, not much left to Halloween week.
- 27:14Speaker 2: It's it's winding down.
- 27:15Speaker 3: Oh boy. Yeah, so we all good things must come
- 27:20Speaker 3: to an end, but.
- 27:21Speaker 2: We still are going strong. We got a few episodes left,
- 27:24Speaker 2: so don't you worry. We got some good ones coming
- 27:26Speaker 2: down the pipe too, So we will see you in
- 27:28Speaker 2: the next episode and until then, stay wicked.
