- 0:00Hello friends! Welcome back to Wonderfully Made,
- 0:04Bible Stories for Children. I'm so glad you're
- 0:08here. Last time, we heard how the Israelites
- 0:12reached the edge of the Promised Land, but fear
- 0:16held them back. Because they didn't trust God,
- 0:20they had to wait and wander for many years in
- 0:23the wilderness. Today, we begin a brand new part
- 0:28of the journey. The Israelites are finally ready
- 0:32to enter the land God promised them. But before
- 0:36they go, someone very important has to say goodbye,
- 0:40and a new leader must be chosen. Let's hear how
- 0:45it all happened. Moses had been the leader of
- 1:01God's people for many years. He had helped them
- 1:04escape Egypt, led them through the wilderness,
- 1:08and talked with God on Mount Sinai. But now,
- 1:12the people were almost at the promised land.
- 1:17Moses knew that his time as leader was coming
- 1:20to an end. Years earlier, there had been a day
- 1:24when the people were angry because they had no
- 1:27water. God told Moses to speak to a rock, and
- 1:31water would come out. But Moses was upset. Instead
- 1:37of speaking to the rock, he hit it with his staff,
- 1:41not once, but twice. Even though God still brought
- 1:47water from the rock, he told Moses that he had
- 1:51disobeyed. Because of that, Moses would not enter
- 1:55the promised land. God still loved Moses. He
- 2:01had been a faithful servant. But God wanted the
- 2:04people to learn how important it is to trust
- 2:07and obey his words fully. Now, standing at the
- 2:12edge of the land, Moses climbed a high mountain.
- 2:16From there, God showed him the beautiful land
- 2:20he had promised to give to the Israelites. Moses
- 2:23could see the rivers, the fields, and the hills.
- 2:27but he would not go in. Then Moses blessed the
- 2:32people. He reminded them to obey God's laws,
- 2:36love God with all their hearts, and never forget
- 2:39everything God had done for them. And finally,
- 2:44Moses died. God himself took care of him, and
- 2:48the people wept for him for many days. God had
- 2:53already chosen someone to take Moses' place,
- 2:57Joshua, one of the spies who had trusted God
- 3:01many years before. God spoke to Joshua and gave
- 3:05him a very special message. Be strong and courageous.
- 3:11Do not be afraid, for I am with you wherever
- 3:14you go. Joshua would now lead the people into
- 3:19the promised land. He had watched Moses, he had
- 3:23followed God. and now it was his turn to help
- 3:27the people trust God in a new land, with new
- 3:31challenges. The people promised to follow Joshua,
- 3:36just as they had followed Moses. They were ready
- 3:40to move forward together, with courage, faith,
- 3:44and God's promises still guiding them. It's not
- 3:54easy to say goodbye. Moses had done so much for
- 3:58the people, and they were sad. But this part
- 4:02of the story reminds us that even our leaders
- 4:05are still learning to trust and obey God, just
- 4:08like us. And when one chapter ends, God is already
- 4:13preparing the next one. And sometimes, the next
- 4:18step in life can feel big or even scary. like
- 4:22starting a new school, moving to a new place,
- 4:26or trying something you've never done before.
- 4:29But just like Joshua, you can remember that God
- 4:33goes with you. He promises to never leave you,
- 4:37and he will give you the strength you need. Let's
- 4:42think together. Have you ever had to say goodbye
- 4:46to someone or something special? What helps you
- 4:53trust God when you're stepping into something
- 4:55new? How can you be strong and courageous, just
- 5:03like Joshua? Remember, God doesn't just care
- 5:10about leaders, he cares about you. He sees your
- 5:15heart, your gifts, and your courage. And he has
- 5:19a plan for your life too. Thanks for joining
- 5:24me today. Next time, we'll hear what happens
- 5:28when Joshua and the Israelites finally reach
- 5:31the promised land and face a big, tall wall in
- 5:35the city of Jericho. Will they trust God to bring
- 5:39it down? Until then, remember, you are wonderfully
- 5:44made. and God is with you every step of the way.
- 5:49Bye for now.
