- 0:00Speaker 1: Most of the time, things are dictated by the style
- 0:05Speaker 1: of play that the other team, uh kind of makes
- 0:09Speaker 1: you play, you know.
- 0:12Speaker 2: So the the pressure, the pressure that they like to
- 0:18Speaker 2: put that's who they are, that's how they like to play.
- 0:20Speaker 2: So they're not going to change just because it's the
- 0:22Speaker 2: NCAA tournament. So you go into the game knowing that
- 0:26Speaker 2: this is how it's going to be and that if
- 0:28Speaker 2: you complete a couple of passes early in the possession,
- 0:31Speaker 2: you're going to get a lot of opportunities on the
- 0:35Speaker 2: back end. And that's pretty much what happened. It's like
- 0:40Speaker 2: every time we broke their pressure, there was a wide
- 0:43Speaker 2: open there was wide open opportunity down the other end.
- 0:47Speaker 2: And I thought our guards shot the ball exceptionally well.
- 0:55Speaker 2: And when you play a team that's willing to.
- 0:59Speaker 1: Give you a out of those because they they.
- 1:01Speaker 2: Think they're going to take more of them and make
- 1:04Speaker 2: more of them.
- 1:08Speaker 1: It's it's easy.
- 1:08Speaker 2: If you go out there and miss them all, then
- 1:10Speaker 2: it plays right into the way they want to play.
- 1:14Speaker 2: But if you make a bunch like we did today,
- 1:19Speaker 2: and you're not gonna be able to do that if
- 1:20Speaker 2: people aren't unselfish, you know, And that's the way you
- 1:23Speaker 2: have to play. If you play at Connecticut, it's not
- 1:25Speaker 2: about you all the time. Some nights it is, some
- 1:27Speaker 2: nights it's not. So what do we have twenty nine
- 1:30Speaker 2: assists on forty baskets? I mean, that's pretty good.
- 1:34Speaker 1: Little Maggie third row on the right, magive.
- 1:38Speaker 3: Non ect insider, kind of an easy said. You know,
- 1:40Speaker 3: she's worked hard all around on her game, all on
- 1:43Speaker 3: all aspects. You know, this is the Ferston back in
- 1:45Speaker 3: the tournament in two years, But do you feel like
- 1:47Speaker 3: this is the strongest and kind of the most well
- 1:48Speaker 3: rounded she stills since return this year.
- 1:52Speaker 2: It's been a while for sure that that we've been
- 1:57Speaker 2: able to.
- 1:59Speaker 1: Have some lot of a full.
- 2:03Speaker 2: Complement of players, and especially when you're missing really key pieces.
- 2:11Speaker 1: And a lot of times when kids.
- 2:14Speaker 2: Haven't played and then you throw them out there, they
- 2:16Speaker 2: put a lot of pressure on themselves to make up
- 2:18Speaker 2: for you know, two years of missing NC tournaments and
- 2:21Speaker 2: try to get it all back in one night.
- 2:23Speaker 1: For me, it's.
- 2:26Speaker 2: You know, putting as in a position where she likes
- 2:28Speaker 2: being in and letting her do what she does best.
- 2:32Speaker 1: You know, again, play a team that plays like they
- 2:38Speaker 1: played today, those.
- 2:39Speaker 2: Opportunities come more frequently, so maybe it was the best
- 2:43Speaker 2: way to start her come back in the NC tournament.
- 2:48Speaker 2: I think it'll be drastically different Monday night. You know,
- 2:52Speaker 2: those opportunities won't come as easy. It doesn't mean they
- 2:55Speaker 2: won't be there, but they won't come as easy. So
- 2:58Speaker 2: it's it's great that she's been able to experience that
- 3:02Speaker 2: kind of confidence this early in the tournament, which was
- 3:06Speaker 2: hopefully carries over to the next game.
- 3:10Speaker 1: We'll stay right there.
- 3:11Speaker 4: Third row, Alexa kind of off that note, Gino, where
- 3:17Speaker 4: have you seen kind of easy develop more on that
- 3:21Speaker 4: kind of the mental side of things throughout the season,
- 3:23Speaker 4: just given everything that she went through, even having to
- 3:25Speaker 4: set out a few games with the knee tweak and
- 3:27Speaker 4: coming back, have you seen that confidence really start to
- 3:30Speaker 4: build and blossom, especially after a game today?
- 3:34Speaker 2: That's the that's always the biggest the biggest question with
- 3:40Speaker 2: not just Asy but a.
- 3:41Speaker 1: Lot of players, is they are.
- 3:45Speaker 2: They're so they're so married to their last couple possessions
- 3:53Speaker 2: and they can't shake them. Sometimes. So somebody makes two
- 3:57Speaker 2: straight threes, basket looks as big as a swimming pool, right,
- 4:01Speaker 2: they missed her first two, and they start to question
- 4:07Speaker 2: whatever they're doing.
- 4:08Speaker 1: And I think as you get older and you have
- 4:10Speaker 1: to grow up a little bit.
- 4:10Speaker 2: And you have to mature, and I think that's been
- 4:15Speaker 2: part of the process for a z And I think
- 4:18Speaker 2: she did the same thing earlier this season. I think
- 4:20Speaker 2: she started two for ten and then came out and
- 4:22Speaker 2: made all of them. So that's a sign of growth,
- 4:25Speaker 2: you know, it's a sign of taking each possession as
- 4:29Speaker 2: it comes and not letting it be tied into the
- 4:32Speaker 2: previous one. And I also think that the more you
- 4:37Speaker 2: do other than shoot the ball, the better success you
- 4:40Speaker 2: have shooting it. Because when all you do is just
- 4:42Speaker 2: shoot and you don't do anything else, that's always on
- 4:45Speaker 2: your mind and you're obsessed with it, and if it
- 4:47Speaker 2: doesn't go your way, you make things worse. But you know,
- 4:50Speaker 2: you get a couple of blocks, you get seven steals.
- 4:53Speaker 2: I mean, I think she tied her career high in rebounds.
- 4:55Speaker 1: That makes you have one. Yeah, that's a real eye
- 5:00Speaker 1: for her. I think.
- 5:02Speaker 2: So we're not quite ready to put the you know,
- 5:07Speaker 2: most all around player in the history of you kind
- 5:09Speaker 2: of next to her name, just quite yet, but we're
- 5:11Speaker 2: working on it.
- 5:12Speaker 1: We're working on it.
