- 0:04Speaker 1: It's Sandra Asteroid here and today I'm going to be
- 0:07Speaker 1: talking about the Seal of Confession. The first thing is
- 0:12Speaker 1: first there is explaining what it is, and it is
- 0:15Speaker 1: when someone goes to confession and a priest is not
- 0:19Speaker 1: supposed to repeat it. Some might think why bring it up, Well,
- 0:25Speaker 1: it is a combination of how it has become an
- 0:28Speaker 1: issue that has been brewing with laws presented that say
- 0:34Speaker 1: a priest must report child sexual abuse if someone admits
- 0:41Speaker 1: it in confession, and admitting why my stance has changed,
- 0:48Speaker 1: which is not the easiest thing to do back then,
- 0:52Speaker 1: and it has become harder to admit when you were wrong.
- 0:57Speaker 1: I thought it was okay to report someone admitting to
- 1:01Speaker 1: sexually abusing another person because I'm part of the it's
- 1:07Speaker 1: the father that committed the crime, not the child crowd.
- 1:11Speaker 1: So therefore I do not believe in rape exceptions for abortion.
- 1:17Speaker 1: And it showed a sense of awareness to rape victims
- 1:22Speaker 1: trauma and a sense of proactiveness, and so they make
- 1:28Speaker 1: those who don't vote for an abortion band to allow
- 1:33Speaker 1: for rape exceptions to see, we do understand trauma has happened. However,
- 1:40Speaker 1: the more time has passed, the more it makes me think. No,
- 1:44Speaker 1: I won't think like that anymore because of the perpetual
- 1:47Speaker 1: themes from that type, like still agree with rape exceptions,
- 1:53Speaker 1: when that is part of why I caved. They don't
- 2:00Speaker 1: go to church, so you know, they don't know about
- 2:03Speaker 1: the still a confession and the actual meaning of separation
- 2:10Speaker 1: of church and state. They may even still think church
- 2:16Speaker 1: sexual abuse happens, even though good luck rapist getting away
- 2:20Speaker 1: when rules like a child and minister can't be by
- 2:26Speaker 1: themselves have been enforced. I watched the interview of Alibeth
- 2:32Speaker 1: interviewing Michael Knows about Popolio being ordained at the time,
- 2:38Speaker 1: and he gave his take that it makes people not
- 2:43Speaker 1: go into confession because they think what they say will
- 2:46Speaker 1: be held against them. And even if it wasn't about that,
- 2:53Speaker 1: there's my own take. It is what it is. Let's
- 2:57Speaker 1: be honest. The Vatican Is couldn't be like, Okay, we
- 3:02Speaker 1: understand they're going to revoke that priest holy order and
- 3:09Speaker 1: do I want that? No? I want the church to grow.
- 3:15Speaker 1: It can't when it doesn't have as many priests as
- 3:19Speaker 1: it should. So there I said it. I'm done appeasing
- 3:24Speaker 1: people who based off a perception don't know what they're
- 3:29Speaker 1: talking about until the next one, Peace and two and
- 3:34Speaker 1: Greece
