Transcript
- 0:00SPEAKER_00: As you can see, day six.
- 0:01SPEAKER_00: So we're down uh just over twenty.
- 0:05SPEAKER_00: What is that?
- 0:07SPEAKER_00: Twenty-three pounds, twenty-four, twenty-two.
- 0:10SPEAKER_00: There's day one.
- 0:11SPEAKER_00: There's day one, day six, day one, day six.
- 0:15SPEAKER_00: It's really hard to get that adjusted.
- 0:17SPEAKER_00: Okay, there's that.
- 0:18SPEAKER_00: So um still fasting, feel, feel wonderful.
- 0:22SPEAKER_00: Um, you always get that headache that kind of comes around six, seven days in, at least I do.
- 0:28SPEAKER_00: And then it'll clear up, just focusing on next steps.
- 0:35SPEAKER_00: And the other thing I think would be good to pay attention to if you start to have um if you start to think about food, I think the worst thing that I do is ignore it because it just becomes stronger.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: So then I play it out.
- 0:49SPEAKER_00: I have to go through the ritual of thinking, okay, so I made an agreement with myself to fast for a particular length of time.
- 0:57SPEAKER_00: And I'm doing this more for healing than fat loss, but fat loss is just a big component of it.
- 1:03SPEAKER_00: Once you get into the rhythm, now I wouldn't expect to have these massive weight drops.
- 1:08SPEAKER_00: So day one to day two, I think that's probably the biggest, right?
- 1:12SPEAKER_00: Oh, there you go.
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: That's stuck together really nice.
- 1:15SPEAKER_00: So day one to day two to day three, to day four to day five, right?
- 1:19SPEAKER_00: You kind of see how that works.
- 1:21SPEAKER_00: So you can see these big losses.
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: Now, from yesterday to today, what, a couple pounds?
- 1:26SPEAKER_00: And that's going to continue to decline somewhere around three quarters to one pound.
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: Now, something that I wouldn't be shocked at is let's say day seven or eight.
- 1:37SPEAKER_00: I wouldn't be surprised if I woke up the next morning and had at least zero loss or maybe a little bit of a gain, because we're dealing with a biological organism.
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: It's not perfect science.
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: Your body's going to hold on to water.
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: It doesn't really want to lose any fat.
- 1:53SPEAKER_00: It doesn't want to lose weight, period.
- 1:55SPEAKER_00: It wants to stay in that steady state, that homeostasis.
- 1:58SPEAKER_00: It wants to just stay very normal, even keel across the board.
- 2:03SPEAKER_00: If you start to put on weight, it's not as bad as trying to lose weight, at least from what I understand biologically, at least for your body.
- 2:10SPEAKER_00: So that being the case, you'll definitely want to understand that you potentially would maybe halt or stop at some point, but you know, you have zero calories coming in.
- 2:24SPEAKER_00: So it's water, black coffee, plus electrolytes.
- 2:26SPEAKER_00: The electrolytes you drink should be in their pure form.
- 2:29SPEAKER_00: They shouldn't be associated with any kind of power drinks.
- 2:32SPEAKER_00: Even though they say zero calories, that sweetness as it hits your tongue could spike insulin.
- 2:39SPEAKER_00: And you can take somebody starved and give them insulin injections and they will get fat without any food.
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's crazy.
- 2:47SPEAKER_00: So at least that's what I've read.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: I'm not a doctor, you do your own research, find, find everything.
- 2:52SPEAKER_00: But it's like it's like a almost a miracle, miracle, if in fact you just take insulin.
- 2:57SPEAKER_00: So you don't want to spike that at all.
- 2:59SPEAKER_00: Now, when I come off this, because it's been a few days, I have to be weary.
- 3:04SPEAKER_00: If I come off of this and like go out and blow it out with donuts or pizza, I'll be causing myself problems.
- 3:10SPEAKER_00: In fact, the longer I go, the more carefree I am about breaking the fast could equate to even larger problems, including death.
- 3:19SPEAKER_00: So I have to understand that day six, yeah, it's a long time in.
- 3:24SPEAKER_00: These other days were instrumental, but after a two or three-day fast, what I didn't, I wasn't obeying the refeed.
- 3:32SPEAKER_00: And I only say that obeying it meaning you have to honor it.
- 3:36SPEAKER_00: You can't just go out there and eat like you did prior to the fast.
- 3:40SPEAKER_00: The fast is really a full reset.
- 3:42SPEAKER_00: It's resetting you not only metabolically, but mentally as well.
- 3:46SPEAKER_00: Food becomes less important.
- 3:48SPEAKER_00: As I was going to mention before, if I ignore food, if I like try to push it away, I'm only paying more attention to it.
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: It's like when somebody tells you, don't think about a pink elephant or a white bear.
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: Good luck.
- 4:01SPEAKER_00: You're going to be thinking about it.
- 4:03SPEAKER_00: So when food enters your brain, God, I'd really love to have this, or I'd love to have that.
- 4:07SPEAKER_00: And especially where in social media you're watching different things, all of a sudden, whenever I fast, it's like every channel I have on social media is blowing up about food.
- 4:15SPEAKER_00: I mean, it's it's it's those massive burritos that they make in East LA that they fry, and oh, that's that's what's popping into the brain, right?
- 4:24SPEAKER_00: And then the best donuts, and I've had plenty of donuts.
- 4:27SPEAKER_00: I was a cop, for God's sakes.
- 4:29SPEAKER_00: And I've had plenty of pizza.
- 4:31SPEAKER_00: But again, that's those are those things that pop in your head, and that's what you see on the advertisements because you know, everything's listening, right?
- 4:37SPEAKER_00: Everything's listening.
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: So that being the case, you're always seeing the stuff pop up in your feed.
- 4:41SPEAKER_00: And when I'm fasting, it's it's even more so, it seems.
- 4:44SPEAKER_00: And maybe I'm just paying more attention because I'm more sensitive.
- 4:47SPEAKER_00: But don't ignore the thought.
- 4:49SPEAKER_00: Play it out.
- 4:50SPEAKER_00: Say, okay, so I'm thinking about pizza.
- 4:53SPEAKER_00: How's that going to feel if I eat pizza at this point?
- 4:55SPEAKER_00: Even after just, you know, if you're just eating once a day, let's say you want to break it or eat earlier or then eat later in the day, play it all the way out.
- 5:04SPEAKER_00: Actually sit and think, okay, well, before I pick up the phone or before I go online and make this order, or before I cook this or do this, let's go ahead and play it out.
- 5:13SPEAKER_00: And I find preparing your food takes away some of the shininess that you might get when you're ordering out.
- 5:20SPEAKER_00: So if you're a food preparation person, you're probably not super obese anyway, if you make all your own meals.
- 5:27SPEAKER_00: But, you know, if you're always ordering from, you know, the different uh takeout joints, you have people bringing it to you, you know, maybe that's another story.
- 5:35SPEAKER_00: But if you are cooking at home, play that out as well.
- 5:38SPEAKER_00: Okay, if I if I make great brownies, I want to make brownies, I want to eat a lot of brownies.
- 5:42SPEAKER_00: And I just don't eat one brownie, I eat like half the tray of brownies, maybe more in some cases.
- 5:47SPEAKER_00: So I play that out.
- 5:48SPEAKER_00: I know how I'm gonna feel.
- 5:50SPEAKER_00: I know it's not gonna be great.
- 5:51SPEAKER_00: I know tomorrow when I get on the scale, even when I break this thing, let's say I get down to 295 by day 14 or 10 or whatever it may be, probably maybe day 10 or 11, I might be at 295.
- 6:04SPEAKER_00: That's actual fat loss starting now.
- 6:06SPEAKER_00: Before this 20-some odd pounds, a lot of that is water.
- 6:11SPEAKER_00: Probably a pound per day, three-quarters to a pound per day of real fat.
- 6:15SPEAKER_00: But as I get closer and I do a refeed, even a chicken broth refeed or some kind of a broth, have maybe a cup or two of that just to get my digestive system woken up again.
- 6:28SPEAKER_00: And then maybe uh half a hard, let's say a hard-boiling, half an avocado.
- 6:32SPEAKER_00: Let's say that's day one of the breakfast.
- 6:35SPEAKER_00: And then I won't have anything else until the next day.
- 6:38SPEAKER_00: Even that alone, I'm gonna put on two or three pounds.
- 6:40SPEAKER_00: You'll see I'll I'll put on two or three pounds.
- 6:42SPEAKER_00: And it's not because the food had two or three pounds of content.
- 6:45SPEAKER_00: That would be almost 10,000 calories for three pounds, right?
- 6:48SPEAKER_00: 35 times three.
- 6:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 6:50SPEAKER_00: So it's not that because I ate one avocado, half an avocado, one hard-boiled egg, and a couple cups of chicken broth.
- 6:58SPEAKER_00: That's not where the weight is coming from.
- 7:00SPEAKER_00: The weight's going to be water retention.
- 7:02SPEAKER_00: So, whatever water I drink that day, more than likely, I probably won't urinate because I'll be holding on to that because the body now has food in it.
- 7:10SPEAKER_00: And then the next day I'll probably put on a few pounds as well, potentially.
- 7:15SPEAKER_00: But the larger you are, the more that variable comes in.
- 7:18SPEAKER_00: But then if I stay on it, let's say I stay keto or low carb and I go ahead and live that out for a few days, and I have my one meal a day, and I don't break that, I keep that true to myself, and I don't get excited and blow it out Christmas and go out there and eat all the crap.
- 7:33SPEAKER_00: Then more than likely, my body will then readjust.
- 7:36SPEAKER_00: It'll say, okay, we're in a safe place, I'm going to purge the rest of this water, and now we're going to continue.
- 7:41SPEAKER_00: So now I'll jump back down to the 290s, and then I'll continue the progress, and then I can do another three or four-day fast.
- 7:47SPEAKER_00: Fast of the longer term, you know, as long as you have fat on you, as far as I think, you need to talk to your doctor.
- 7:53SPEAKER_00: But I think as long as you have fat, you're eating very well.
- 7:56SPEAKER_00: Fat is the fuel that you're eating when you're when you're not eating.
- 8:00SPEAKER_00: Your body's consuming it.
- 8:01SPEAKER_00: It's just not going in your mouth.
- 8:02SPEAKER_00: Your body's attacking the gut, your double chin, your ham hocks, your arms, wherever your fat happens to be.
- 8:09SPEAKER_00: That's where the body's going to get it.
- 8:10SPEAKER_00: And what's even better, the body's not only going to go to that fat that people see, it's also going to attack that visceral fat, which is that stuff that's choking out your organs.
- 8:19SPEAKER_00: The reason why sometimes I feel lightheaded on this fast, from what I understand, is because my blood pressure isn't as high as it normally would have been running, because I'm starting to deplete all that excess water.
- 8:31SPEAKER_00: So that reduces pressure, right?
- 8:32SPEAKER_00: Because you have water, it's like a balloon.
- 8:35SPEAKER_00: I'm I'm bulging out.
- 8:36SPEAKER_00: When I reduce that water, and this a lot of this weight loss here was water, uh, because that's being reduced, then the blood pressure goes down, and I bend over, stand up, you know, you get a lot a little lightheaded.
- 8:50SPEAKER_00: When I'm working out too, it's not as aggressively as when I'm eating or when I'm in a feeding state.
- 8:56SPEAKER_00: Because you break down the muscle, you're not going to lose it, as far as I understand.
- 9:00SPEAKER_00: I've done research on this as well, but I don't want to overdo it either and go grind and lift as heavy as I possibly can because there is no protein to repair and build.
- 9:10SPEAKER_00: There is no, there are no amino acids coming in.
- 9:12SPEAKER_00: So now it's just kind of a maintenance thing.
- 9:14SPEAKER_00: I still play with hit cardio a little bit, 20 minutes on the air, nine, 10 minutes regular, and then every two minutes I'll do a minute really hard.
- 9:22SPEAKER_00: Um, I've been doing that kind of every day.
- 9:25SPEAKER_00: I'll have to see how I feel today.
- 9:27SPEAKER_00: Still a little bit of light headache, but uh still doing good.
- 9:29SPEAKER_00: Anyway, that's it.
- 9:30SPEAKER_00: I hope you're well.
- 9:31SPEAKER_00: And day six to you, we will see you tomorrow in the next one.
- 9:35SPEAKER_00: Thanks for watching, and it's always my honor.
- 9:38SPEAKER_00: We'll see you.
- 9:38SPEAKER_00: A fastingbot.com.
- 9:40SPEAKER_00: There's nothing to buy there, but uh you'll see the blog up at the top.
- 9:44SPEAKER_00: Maybe you get some in insight.
- 9:46SPEAKER_00: You know, when I first got onto this, it took me watching one video at one time by a cat named Dr.
- 9:53SPEAKER_00: Jason Fung, and that was it.
- 9:55SPEAKER_00: It made sense to me.
- 9:57SPEAKER_00: And that's when I started.
- 9:58SPEAKER_00: Dr.
- 9:58SPEAKER_00: Jason Fung F-U-N-G.
- 10:00SPEAKER_00: And then I read the obesity code, which he had, and then that's what I that's when I started to understand more and more about the mistruths that seem to be out there, the lies and the people that perpetrate those.
- 10:15SPEAKER_00: And anyway, how to fix it.
- 10:16SPEAKER_00: See you in the next one.
- 10:17SPEAKER_00: Thanks for watching.
- 10:18SPEAKER_00: Bye.
