Kent County just approved new rules for data centers — not to stop them, but to tame their impact. The ordinance sets limits on noise, light, and pollution, plus mandates minimum distances from roads and homes — all aimed at managing future facilities in unincorporated areas. Drafted with help from the Kent Economic Partnership, it passed unanimously after review by the Regional Planning Commission and Levy Court.
