Latest / Fandomonium! A Fandom Comedy Game Show / The Great Outdoors LIVE - Four Peeners vs SPF-9000
Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: You are listening to a lily Pad production.
- 0:03Speaker 2: Hello Leapfrogs, and welcome back to Pandemonium. Straight after our
- 0:07Speaker 2: live episode at the Fan Expo last time, we are
- 0:10Speaker 2: back with another live episode, recorded just a couple of
- 0:14Speaker 2: weeks ago at the Peak. This is our great outdoors episode.
- 0:18Speaker 2: This was Chris's pick for the year and absolutely fantastic
- 0:22Speaker 2: outside the box fandom to think of that's very relevant
- 0:26Speaker 2: to us here in Colorado. It's hiking culture, outdoors culture.
- 0:32Speaker 2: It's basically a fandom. And if you nerds have a
- 0:34Speaker 2: problem with that, take it up with our non existent lawyers.
- 0:38Speaker 2: This was such a fun live show. Chris is on
- 0:41Speaker 2: the panel. We were joined by Corn and Amanda, two
- 0:44Speaker 2: fantastic improvisers here in the Springs, and instead of having
- 0:48Speaker 2: them do super clever improv, I had them play very
- 0:52Speaker 2: silly comedy games. Absolute waste of their talent, but I
- 0:56Speaker 2: appreciate them so much for indulging us. Head to Peak
- 0:59Speaker 2: Improv to check out tickets to their shows Tuned Titans,
- 1:03Speaker 2: Guest Bedroom, Felty and Friends, all that good stuff. But
- 1:06Speaker 2: you can also head to Peak improv dot com to
- 1:08Speaker 2: get tickets to Pandemonium live throughout the rest of the year.
- 1:12Speaker 2: We are doing shows in August, September, and October at
- 1:15Speaker 2: the Peak Improv Theater the second Friday of each of
- 1:18Speaker 2: those months.
- 1:18Speaker 3: Grab your tickets now.
- 1:20Speaker 2: Regular listeners might notice that this live show is a
- 1:23Speaker 2: little shorter. That's because we're trying to get our live
- 1:26Speaker 2: shows in at around an hour.
- 1:30Speaker 3: Don't worry.
- 1:30Speaker 2: The studio episodes are still going to be some of
- 1:33Speaker 2: them I assume two hours long, but a lot of
- 1:36Speaker 2: the conventions and comedy festivals that were applying to for
- 1:40Speaker 2: twenty twenty seven only have up to an hour as
- 1:43Speaker 2: a performance slot, so we don't wanna We don't want
- 1:46Speaker 2: to not be able to play those shows, so we
- 1:48Speaker 2: we're kind of getting the format down to a tight hour.
- 1:51Speaker 2: I'm sure we'll always have five or ten minutes leeway
- 1:54Speaker 2: at the Peak, but that's why the live shows through
- 1:56Speaker 2: the rest of the year might just be a tad
- 1:58Speaker 2: shorter than you are accustomed to. I can't believe we
- 2:01Speaker 2: are now officially halfway through season six.
- 2:04Speaker 3: This year has flown by.
- 2:06Speaker 2: It's been so much fun laughing and playing games with everyone,
- 2:09Speaker 2: and this episode was no different. So please enjoy this
- 2:14Speaker 2: live pandemonium about the Great Outdoors Hello, and welcome to Pandemonium,
- 2:45Speaker 2: the pop culture game show that shines a spotlight onto
- 2:47Speaker 2: everyone's favorite fandoms. I'm your games master and shadow we
- 2:51Speaker 2: figure behind Project Taurus Matt Watson. Yes, I am the
- 2:56Speaker 2: villain Boomy.
- 3:00Speaker 3: Well, that nickname started in February. It's still here.
- 3:04Speaker 2: But a games master needs games and games need players,
- 3:07Speaker 2: so please welcome. First, he is our producer and the
- 3:11Speaker 2: official one man house band of Pandemonium. And when he
- 3:14Speaker 2: pitched an episode this year titled The Great Outdoors, he
- 3:17Speaker 2: almost certainly meant the nineteen eighty eight movie starring Dan
- 3:20Speaker 2: Ackroyd and John Candy.
- 3:22Speaker 3: But here we are make some noise for Chris Reagan.
- 3:33Speaker 3: Look at that get up? Oh my goodness. And she
- 3:38Speaker 3: is an wow Is that dad grown?
- 3:40Speaker 4: Yep?
- 3:40Speaker 3: Okay?
- 3:42Speaker 2: And she is an improviser, guest bedroomer, and the voice
- 3:45Speaker 2: of Velveta in Feltian Friends.
- 3:47Speaker 3: She's also been.
- 3:48Speaker 2: The official voice of Jennifer Coolidge since twenty seventeen. Put
- 3:51Speaker 2: your hands together for Amanda Bana.
- 3:58Speaker 3: That is that a hatchet?
- 4:00Speaker 5: Yes?
- 4:00Speaker 1: I represent all the Missourians camping and hiking. It's a
- 4:05Speaker 1: lot less glamorous, Okay.
- 4:08Speaker 2: Welcome to the podcast. Chris and Amanda. How are you
- 4:10Speaker 2: both doing?
- 4:11Speaker 4: Doing so good?
- 4:12Speaker 1: I love Yeah, I love being here indoors on this
- 4:16Speaker 1: beautiful Friday.
- 4:17Speaker 4: Yeh, I just woke up with the sun this morning.
- 4:19Speaker 3: Just smell that ready.
- 4:22Speaker 4: I was still inside unfortunately.
- 4:24Speaker 2: But this has kind of blackfire doing the Great Outdoors
- 4:28Speaker 2: during the month where everyone is actually outdoors instead of
- 4:31Speaker 2: watching a podcast at nine pm.
- 4:33Speaker 4: You know it's fine, it's on theme.
- 4:37Speaker 6: Sure.
- 4:38Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:39Speaker 2: Well, speaking of the theme, Chris, how do you feel
- 4:43Speaker 2: about the Great Outdoors?
- 4:44Speaker 4: Oh, I'm a big fan.
- 4:46Speaker 7: I grew up around Idaho Springs and here in Colorado.
- 4:52Speaker 4: Uh you know, I just uh.
- 4:56Speaker 3: No, shout out for no one.
- 4:58Speaker 4: Yeah, it's cool.
- 4:59Speaker 1: It's cool.
- 4:59Speaker 4: It's small town.
- 5:01Speaker 1: You wouldn't you wouldn't know it. It goes to another school.
- 5:05Speaker 4: Damn it got me but no big fan, big fan. Okay,
- 5:09Speaker 4: but me and the me and the Great Outdoors we
- 5:10Speaker 4: go way back.
- 5:11Speaker 3: I can tell by the ghet up.
- 5:12Speaker 7: Oh yeah, it's mostly merch. Yeah, I love the outdoors merch.
- 5:18Speaker 2: You are helping validate that this is a fandom, So
- 5:20Speaker 2: thank you so much.
- 5:21Speaker 4: Crazy somebody's got to do it.
- 5:24Speaker 3: What about yourself? You a fan of the Great Outdoors?
- 5:26Speaker 1: Yeah, I've been there. Yeah, I've been there. I go
- 5:30Speaker 1: there sometimes and I when i'm there, I go, oh, yeah,
- 5:33Speaker 1: that's good. And then I get bit by a mosquito
- 5:36Speaker 1: and I go, oh, that's not so good.
- 5:39Speaker 4: Yeah that's good.
- 5:41Speaker 3: Ups and downs. Maybe it's fine that we're getting rid
- 5:43Speaker 3: of it.
- 5:44Speaker 8: Yeah, but the outdoors, Yeah, it's going, and don't fund it.
- 5:50Speaker 3: Yeah, I feel like we're not backing it. And so
- 5:51Speaker 3: it's just like, let's let it go.
- 5:53Speaker 8: Yeah, let the mosquitoes have it. Yeah, you know, I've
- 5:56Speaker 8: got to let it go. It's gone, actually right. Yeah,
- 6:02Speaker 8: so really really exciting.
- 6:04Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, we're really really optimistic.
- 6:07Speaker 2: We went through the ups and the downs. Okay, this
- 6:09Speaker 2: this question can only be positive. I've got a question
- 6:12Speaker 2: for both of you, but I'll start with Chris. What
- 6:15Speaker 2: is your favorite outdoor space in the whole world?
- 6:18Speaker 7: I would probably say, okay, so I already said that.
- 6:20Speaker 7: I'm from Idaho Springs.
- 6:22Speaker 9: Uh.
- 6:22Speaker 7: There is a picnic spot in between Ido Springs and
- 6:27Speaker 7: Mount Blue Sky that's called Ponder Point. I've been going
- 6:30Speaker 7: there since I was a kid. That's where me and
- 6:33Speaker 7: my wife jen eloped to and we still go like
- 6:37Speaker 7: at least once a year and it's just like a
- 6:39Speaker 7: little it's just like a little area off the.
- 6:41Speaker 4: Road and it.
- 6:42Speaker 7: Yeah, it's just been going there my entire life, and
- 6:44Speaker 7: it's one of my favorite places.
- 6:46Speaker 3: That's cool, And that's a really sweet story.
- 6:47Speaker 2: And it would be terrible if I made a shitty
- 6:49Speaker 2: joke about it right now, but I'm going.
- 6:50Speaker 4: To do it. I dare you.
- 6:53Speaker 2: So you just being around the world all different places,
- 6:55Speaker 2: but your favorite outdoor space is just where you were born?
- 6:58Speaker 4: Uh yeah, yeah, Fuck the rest of the world.
- 7:02Speaker 2: Enough, I'm Colorado boy. Just don't call yourself a native please.
- 7:07Speaker 4: Oh no, that's not that's what my bumper sticker says.
- 7:11Speaker 4: That's not what I say. I'm kidding. I don't have it.
- 7:14Speaker 1: I promised he's a white man. He's from here.
- 7:20Speaker 3: With my accent.
- 7:21Speaker 2: I can't talk about that, Amanda, What about yourself? What's
- 7:24Speaker 2: your favorite outdoor space in the whole world?
- 7:26Speaker 1: Yeah? Grand Titans National Park. It is beautiful. It is underrated,
- 7:32Speaker 1: and also it's a great innuendo for boobies, and and
- 7:36Speaker 1: they look kind of like boobies, and I think that's
- 7:38Speaker 1: a beautiful thing looking at those big Titans and n ironically,
- 7:43Speaker 1: that one is the most beautiful and peaceful place that
- 7:45Speaker 1: I've ever gone. I think my parents took me there
- 7:48Speaker 1: when I was like twelve or thirteen. Yeah, there's my mom.
- 7:53Speaker 3: Oh nice Joah, thank you for taking.
- 7:57Speaker 1: Thanks for taking me to your Titan.
- 8:00Speaker 4: Shadow the Biggest Naturals? Is that wrong?
- 8:07Speaker 5: Oh yeah?
- 8:07Speaker 1: And it's right next to Jackson's Hole Jason Hole, Wyoming.
- 8:11Speaker 1: But we call it Jackson's Hole because the pilot accidentally
- 8:13Speaker 1: said it as we were descending, and and my sisters
- 8:16Speaker 1: and I were like twelve and thirteen, and we were
- 8:18Speaker 1: like crying laughing on the plane.
- 8:19Speaker 5: Because We're like, we're going into Jackson's.
- 8:23Speaker 1: And I'm still that's still my humor.
- 8:27Speaker 7: Really sorry, advance like nature, something's never changed, and that's beautiful.
- 8:32Speaker 2: Actually, so well, we've that's that's so beautiful. We've already
- 8:36Speaker 2: gotten to know this team. But they're going to need
- 8:38Speaker 2: some opponents, some rivals out on the trail. Let's meet them.
- 8:42Speaker 2: She's our resident panelist, a podcaster and comedian who works
- 8:45Speaker 2: in STEM, which today stands for show Me those Exquisite Mountains.
- 8:49Speaker 3: Give it up, poetry, Stephenson.
- 8:56Speaker 9: Oh my god, London up And I hate oughtn't to
- 9:01Speaker 9: if that was a travel.
- 9:05Speaker 2: And she is an improviser, a stick horse, and a
- 9:07Speaker 2: tune titan, and she was my first choice for this
- 9:10Speaker 2: lineup because she's the only improviser in this theater who
- 9:12Speaker 2: genuinely touches grass.
- 9:14Speaker 3: Give it up for Corn list.
- 9:19Speaker 2: Hello, Hello, Hello, Adra, Hello Corn? How are you both
- 9:23Speaker 2: doing this evening?
- 9:25Speaker 9: I'm doing great. This blocks all the lights, but I
- 9:27Speaker 9: know that I probably shouldn't.
- 9:29Speaker 3: Be wearing it.
- 9:30Speaker 9: And this is awesome. This feels like not an option.
- 9:35Speaker 3: You look like one of those lizards when they feel.
- 9:38Speaker 5: Yes, statue of liberty.
- 9:42Speaker 9: I like that one.
- 9:45Speaker 10: She's outdoors, Yeah, let her inside.
- 9:50Speaker 3: And how are you doing?
- 9:51Speaker 7: Corn?
- 9:51Speaker 11: I'm doing great tonight. I'm happy to be here, happy
- 9:54Speaker 11: to be here inside doing this podcast.
- 9:58Speaker 2: Yeah, we really should have done this December, Corn, just
- 10:03Speaker 2: because I said it up top. I'm gonna start with you.
- 10:05Speaker 2: You're a fan of the Great Outdoors.
- 10:07Speaker 11: Oh, I am a fan of the Great outdoors, and
- 10:09Speaker 11: the Great Outdoors are not a fan of me. You see,
- 10:13Speaker 11: you know I have a light skin complexion. Son is
- 10:17Speaker 11: not my friend, Audrey. You might be able to relate.
- 10:19Speaker 11: Oh yeah, I've found myself in multiple situations in the
- 10:24Speaker 11: Great Outdoors where I've been you know, targeted.
- 10:27Speaker 5: Really mosquitoes.
- 10:29Speaker 11: I'm allergic to mosquitoes, but you know, I just keep
- 10:31Speaker 11: coming back for more.
- 10:32Speaker 5: I love it.
- 10:33Speaker 3: Nice, nice, I love that.
- 10:35Speaker 2: Yeah, like you're gonna take your annual punishment exactly. Fantastic
- 10:40Speaker 2: and grey outdoors fan I am.
- 10:43Speaker 9: Whenever I go there, I'm like, Wow, you're all right,
- 10:48Speaker 9: And it's just I really do love it every time
- 10:51Speaker 9: i'm there until I have to sleep, and then I
- 10:53Speaker 9: want to be inside. But any of the waking hours
- 10:56Speaker 9: I really like being outside.
- 10:59Speaker 2: Yeah, definitely, the sleeping hours are the toughest outdoors I
- 11:04Speaker 2: reckon and.
- 11:05Speaker 9: I'm gonna say that it's because I can't look at
- 11:07Speaker 9: the beauty of the outdoors. But it's really because I'm
- 11:09Speaker 9: a little baby and I want my dad.
- 11:14Speaker 2: Okay, Well, I'm sensing that Corn might be more of
- 11:17Speaker 2: the great outdoors experts. I'm gonna ask Corn first, where's
- 11:20Speaker 2: your favorite outdoor space in the whole world?
- 11:22Speaker 11: Well, I also born and raised in Colorado, so these
- 11:27Speaker 11: mountains are definitely my home, and I've seen many spectacular
- 11:31Speaker 11: things from the tops of the mountains. My husband and
- 11:35Speaker 11: I we signed our marriage certificate on the top of
- 11:38Speaker 11: Colorado's largest peak, so really fun. So similar to Chris.
- 11:45Speaker 1: On the side of the road.
- 11:47Speaker 4: We kind of bailed on our way up to the mountain.
- 11:52Speaker 4: That's way.
- 11:53Speaker 1: Yeah, that's similar, and I support him because he's my teammates.
- 12:00Speaker 9: But I'd actually have to I'd have to go outside.
- 12:02Speaker 11: Of Colorado for my absolute favorite, which is Lake Powell.
- 12:06Speaker 11: When you get a group of like twelve people together
- 12:08Speaker 11: to glamp in like a small little houseboat for like
- 12:13Speaker 11: seven days. You it's the best of times, it's the
- 12:15Speaker 11: worst of times, and it's just it's formative.
- 12:20Speaker 3: I was gonna say, why aren't we doing that now?
- 12:24Speaker 5: Next time?
- 12:25Speaker 11: We should record a podcast on Lake Powell. We do
- 12:28Speaker 11: a lot of just floating and having our best thoughts.
- 12:30Speaker 2: So fantastic great answers there, and Audre, Do you have
- 12:35Speaker 2: a favorite outdoor space in the whole world?
- 12:40Speaker 9: Probably?
- 12:40Speaker 5: I have two?
- 12:43Speaker 9: No, Okay, it's not. I definitely do have one. I
- 12:46Speaker 9: do go outside. I have touched grass I freaking promise
- 12:50Speaker 9: I have two. One would be the Women's Trail up
- 12:56Speaker 9: somewhere in the mountains out by Divide, I think, but
- 12:58Speaker 9: it just feels like it has free Colorado biome represented
- 13:02Speaker 9: in this like five mile loop.
- 13:04Speaker 3: It is kind of a hidden stop blowing up our
- 13:07Speaker 3: spot publicly.
- 13:07Speaker 9: Okay, okay, so it's a rainbow gulch. You go there,
- 13:11Speaker 9: you know.
- 13:13Speaker 6: That one.
- 13:14Speaker 9: Don't go to women's trip or this is like again
- 13:19Speaker 9: Midwest Roots Current River, the float trip. We've done a
- 13:24Speaker 9: float trip a couple of years, and I get so oh,
- 13:26Speaker 9: I get so sunburned. It's it following the best times
- 13:31Speaker 9: of my life is the worst times.
- 13:33Speaker 5: Of my life.
- 13:35Speaker 9: But oh gosh, it's so fun. Yeah, just floating think spots. Oh,
- 13:39Speaker 9: it's a gorgeous.
- 13:40Speaker 2: Time, fantastic, great answers. I'm feeling like I'm literally outdoors.
- 13:44Speaker 2: Wow wow, I have an active imagination.
- 13:49Speaker 11: And shout out to Contact Lenses for making our trips possible.
- 13:53Speaker 5: I would definitely get eaten. My vision's terrible again.
- 13:58Speaker 11: Now hate me, So, you know, shout out to Contact Lenses,
- 14:02Speaker 11: Shout out to Contact.
- 14:03Speaker 9: Lenses, sponsors, contact lenses.
- 14:06Speaker 1: Just in general, the concept of contact lens. No particular brand.
- 14:11Speaker 3: We can't get real companies.
- 14:12Speaker 2: Okay, teams, it's time for your annual stay in the
- 14:15Speaker 2: Colorado Wilderness aka Mula State Park. You've booked your Thank you, Chris,
- 14:20Speaker 2: You've booked your campsite. Stocked upon provisions and checked the
- 14:23Speaker 2: fire danger warning very high.
- 14:25Speaker 3: Yes, I think I will be.
- 14:28Speaker 2: You've packed your bearproof tent, your bearproof cooler, and your
- 14:31Speaker 2: bearproof bear to hold tightly when you're surrounded by all
- 14:34Speaker 2: those bears. However, when you arrive at your camp, you
- 14:38Speaker 2: realize this isn't a relaxing getaway at all. A British
- 14:41Speaker 2: scout master has set up a series of gimmick heavy
- 14:43Speaker 2: improv games and challenges. You aren't outdoors at all, You're
- 14:47Speaker 2: in hell, but at least this peak is air conditioned.
- 14:52Speaker 3: Oh yeah, yeah, thank you, thank you, thank you.
- 14:54Speaker 2: So I'd like each pair to come up with a
- 14:56Speaker 2: great outdoors themed team name. Please let's start with Chris
- 14:59Speaker 2: and Amanda, if you got.
- 15:02Speaker 7: I didn't come super prepared for this, however, I did
- 15:07Speaker 7: clip both of these now jeanes to my shorts and
- 15:09Speaker 7: they do look very precarious while I'm sitting down, and
- 15:12Speaker 7: so I'm like, now, Geene, nuts, you.
- 15:15Speaker 4: Know that could be a thing. Is that?
- 15:17Speaker 7: What does it look like to the audience? Does this
- 15:20Speaker 7: look does this look really upsetting?
- 15:22Speaker 12: Yeah?
- 15:23Speaker 1: I feel disregulated, I'll go.
- 15:27Speaker 4: Or or I did hear?
- 15:28Speaker 7: Uh, Jenna, we're trying to figure out some names earlier, and.
- 15:35Speaker 1: He said he's gonna say it, and she looks confident
- 15:38Speaker 1: the place is saying, please share it with everyone. Fort
- 15:46Speaker 1: is my favorite? Okay, well next to yeah, but it's right.
- 15:53Speaker 7: Forte is right. It's actually right next to the Jackson.
- 15:59Speaker 7: Why are is just a great state? Really record check
- 16:02Speaker 7: it out?
- 16:03Speaker 3: So you going with four pina four peener? Yeah? Okay, great.
- 16:08Speaker 4: You just gotta say it fast.
- 16:09Speaker 7: Okay, you can't be asking me all these spelling questions.
- 16:15Speaker 2: I'm gonna say four pina pretty fast.
- 16:22Speaker 4: I went up that four peen.
- 16:24Speaker 3: Fantastic.
- 16:31Speaker 9: You want to you have a bag of four peen,
- 16:36Speaker 9: just no trace with it.
- 16:39Speaker 3: We'll see fantastic, We've got full pena.
- 16:42Speaker 2: Let's find out who they'll be facing ad con any
- 16:46Speaker 2: ideas well?
- 16:48Speaker 11: You know, I I took a risk when I was
- 16:50Speaker 11: coming up with these, and I was like, I know Adra,
- 16:52Speaker 11: and I'm pretty sure she's a shade.
- 16:55Speaker 5: Queen like me. So that's an option.
- 16:59Speaker 11: I'll also SPF nine thousand work.
- 17:06Speaker 5: Thoughts thoughts. I also just love the name BAMF National Park, right,
- 17:10Speaker 5: so what can we do with that? So good?
- 17:14Speaker 9: I'm glad you came up with ones because I forgot
- 17:17Speaker 9: until we were coming up here, and all I could
- 17:19Speaker 9: think of was like touch grass, but like weed, or
- 17:23Speaker 9: maybe touch assy.
- 17:26Speaker 3: Maybe go with your teammate on these.
- 17:28Speaker 9: I think so, I think so I do. Like SPF
- 17:31Speaker 9: nine thousand.
- 17:33Speaker 5: We have a winner, all.
- 17:35Speaker 2: Right, SPF nine thousand, it is. I also need that. Okay, fantastic.
- 17:43Speaker 2: We have four pen of us is SPF nine thousand.
- 17:45Speaker 2: It's gonna get a laugh every time. Well done, guys,
- 17:51Speaker 2: there it is very quickly before we play our games,
- 17:55Speaker 2: I'd like to spot like the mystery prize our teams
- 17:58Speaker 2: will be playing for tonight. Any quick guesses as to
- 18:00Speaker 2: what could be in the box box of mosquitoes, Box
- 18:05Speaker 2: of mosquitoes. It could be anything locally sourced for me.
- 18:09Speaker 9: Is it the sunglasses I lost at the last time
- 18:12Speaker 9: I was at Yellowstone National Park?
- 18:17Speaker 3: Could be could be that I found them and held on? Yes, okay,
- 18:24Speaker 3: we're ready. What are you looking at? Gres the X
- 18:27Speaker 3: ray binocular?
- 18:28Speaker 11: Okay, maybe it's like one of those, like it's like
- 18:30Speaker 11: a bear box. Like the box itself is the prize
- 18:33Speaker 11: and it's like really hard to open. Okay, because guessing
- 18:37Speaker 11: it turns out that like the engineering problem of like
- 18:40Speaker 11: making a box that humans can open and bears can't
- 18:43Speaker 11: open is like, actually very difficult. The dumbest human and
- 18:47Speaker 11: the smartest bed Like that's a circle.
- 18:53Speaker 2: Okay, seems it's time to tie the canoe, bike and
- 18:55Speaker 2: snowball to the roof of the car. We don't know
- 18:57Speaker 2: what the weather is going to do in Colorado, and
- 19:00Speaker 2: let's hike into round one. Round one is called thank
- 19:04Speaker 2: you so Much. Round one is called spell Slots. Now,
- 19:07Speaker 2: I know how much your Americans love a spelling bee,
- 19:10Speaker 2: but how about a spelling c in that you'll be
- 19:13Speaker 2: calling me a ce By the end of this game
- 19:14Speaker 2: who one player will choose a great outdoors themed word
- 19:18Speaker 2: from our selection of categories, and their teammates will attempt
- 19:21Speaker 2: to spell it correctly for a point. The twist is
- 19:24Speaker 2: the player with the word can only make one sound, mime,
- 19:27Speaker 2: one action, and say one other word in order to
- 19:30Speaker 2: communicate the word I would like spelled. After the sound,
- 19:34Speaker 2: mime and word I will then accept an answer from
- 19:36Speaker 2: their teammate in the form of a spelling If the
- 19:39Speaker 2: correct word is attempted, they'll get a point. If it's
- 19:41Speaker 2: attempted and spelled correctly, that'll be two points and maybe
- 19:44Speaker 2: there'll be a bonus point.
- 19:46Speaker 3: Maybe do we all fall off? How do we feel
- 19:50Speaker 3: about spelling?
- 19:51Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a good time to tell everyone. I think
- 19:53Speaker 1: I'm dyslexic, So this is going to go really wow.
- 19:56Speaker 9: Yeah, I don't know if I'm dyslexic, but I'm really
- 20:00Speaker 9: bad at spelling, and I think that.
- 20:01Speaker 5: Might be worse.
- 20:03Speaker 11: Yeah, are these words gonna be hard to spell? Like like,
- 20:06Speaker 11: can the smartest bears? Yeah?
- 20:10Speaker 5: What level?
- 20:11Speaker 2: I'd say that you can read at the third grade
- 20:14Speaker 2: level could spell half of these words?
- 20:17Speaker 1: Might be worse? I think I think Adre and I
- 20:19Speaker 1: are doomed.
- 20:21Speaker 2: Yeah, well, let's let's see what the categories are. The categories,
- 20:24Speaker 2: I've got three categories here. We have animal, vegetable and bastard.
- 20:30Speaker 11: Vegetable, Like I'm not eating any vegetables while camping.
- 20:37Speaker 2: If if you go for the bastard word, I will
- 20:39Speaker 2: give you a bonus point if you even attempt to
- 20:42Speaker 2: spell the correct word, because they might even be difficult
- 20:44Speaker 2: to min So there's bonus points available there. We are
- 20:47Speaker 2: going to start with I think Audra giving clues.
- 20:52Speaker 3: For corn to spell. So dra would you like animal
- 20:55Speaker 3: vegetable or bastard?
- 21:00Speaker 2: Let's let's go animal, going animal Okay, okay, So Colin,
- 21:05Speaker 2: if you could look away please and then order if
- 21:07Speaker 2: you could show look at this and then show the
- 21:09Speaker 2: audience as well. Okay, okay, and if you could pup
- 21:17Speaker 2: that away and now Colin you can look around again. Ordro,
- 21:24Speaker 2: would you like to begin with your sound?
- 21:36Speaker 9: Okay, you guys are so validating.
- 21:39Speaker 11: I'm also using the audience's intrigue in the word as
- 21:42Speaker 11: a clue.
- 21:43Speaker 3: That valid.
- 21:46Speaker 1: I think that's genius.
- 21:47Speaker 3: Order, would you like to do your mind?
- 21:51Speaker 9: Okay, that had a sound, that had a sound, and
- 21:56Speaker 9: I'm really sorry.
- 21:57Speaker 3: No, it's it's okay. You can combine apologize.
- 22:00Speaker 9: To Amanda's mom.
- 22:01Speaker 1: Yeah, grand Don.
- 22:06Speaker 3: And you can also have a word that you can say.
- 22:09Speaker 2: Just don't say the word that I showed you.
- 22:14Speaker 3: Okay. Do you think you have an idea?
- 22:17Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 22:17Speaker 11: And we've we've we've expositioned this a little bit too.
- 22:20Speaker 11: So I'm gonna go with H M O s q
- 22:26Speaker 11: U I T.
- 22:27Speaker 2: O for two points. Yeah, we didn't need to be worried.
- 22:34Speaker 2: We can all spell, we can all smell.
- 22:36Speaker 1: I would not have been able to spell that word full.
- 22:40Speaker 5: You're gonna get there.
- 22:44Speaker 1: We believe this is the outdoors has no spelling, by
- 22:47Speaker 1: the way, and have been there.
- 22:50Speaker 2: Why we're playing this game so that we can teach
- 22:52Speaker 2: you a thing or two. Okay, next up, I think
- 22:56Speaker 2: let's have let's have Amanda give some clues for Chris
- 22:59Speaker 2: to spell a word. Amanda, would you like animal, vegetable
- 23:03Speaker 2: or bastard for christ the.
- 23:04Speaker 1: Spell I'm not a fan of vegetables and animal is
- 23:09Speaker 1: just done, so I kind of want to do as.
- 23:12Speaker 2: Okay, thank you so much Chris for looking away.
- 23:17Speaker 3: There you go.
- 23:19Speaker 6: I don't even know what that means.
- 23:24Speaker 2: So whatever it means to you, that's the clues you
- 23:26Speaker 2: can give. You can if you want to look it
- 23:32Speaker 2: up on Google. Google, you can.
- 23:34Speaker 6: That feels like cheating, Can I look?
- 23:49Speaker 3: Not just yet? Is research?
- 23:52Speaker 5: Yes?
- 23:53Speaker 1: Research is happening, which is also not outdoors? Okay, yeah,
- 24:01Speaker 1: you remember those yeah, yeah, And everybody knows that that's
- 24:06Speaker 1: what that is.
- 24:07Speaker 2: It was on a list of things that the Internet
- 24:10Speaker 2: assured me Americans now.
- 24:13Speaker 1: And and and you're taking that into your citizenship test.
- 24:17Speaker 7: Okay, is that way you googled things Americans now?
- 24:21Speaker 3: Americans now?
- 24:23Speaker 4: You can look now okay, cool?
- 24:28Speaker 3: If you would like to make your sounds, yeah, I
- 24:34Speaker 3: made emotion.
- 24:35Speaker 1: I'm cheating.
- 24:36Speaker 2: Sorry, okay, is also cheating?
- 24:48Speaker 3: You can? I think you can. You can make another
- 24:50Speaker 3: gesture as well. I think that's fair. Okay, okay, unless
- 24:57Speaker 3: that was the gestion I don't know if it okay?
- 25:04Speaker 4: Nice.
- 25:05Speaker 3: Also that gestures.
- 25:09Speaker 1: I'm a bad person.
- 25:13Speaker 2: This is how talented the peaking prof folks are. And
- 25:18Speaker 2: if you want, you can say another word to help
- 25:21Speaker 2: give a clue to that.
- 25:23Speaker 13: Mm hmm.
- 25:28Speaker 4: Shelter is it ten steaks?
- 25:35Speaker 3: I only acceptances in the form of a spelling crisis, right.
- 25:38Speaker 7: This is a spelling bee. I remember that, Oh so steak?
- 25:42Speaker 7: So which steak?
- 25:48Speaker 10: Right?
- 25:48Speaker 7: No, I know that t N T S T.
- 25:56Speaker 4: There's two words, two words, t N T space.
- 25:59Speaker 3: Yeah s t A k E. I'm so sorry it
- 26:06Speaker 3: was BiVO whack.
- 26:08Speaker 2: We will look at your.
- 26:11Speaker 4: Australian ass words. These are not words.
- 26:14Speaker 11: Americans America know this storm.
- 26:26Speaker 1: To Dad told me I was conceived in a lean too.
- 26:30Speaker 1: Is that true, so, glad? I think that deserves Hey, Matt,
- 26:41Speaker 1: I think that deserves a point. I just found out
- 26:43Speaker 1: I was conceived in one of these and alive.
- 26:47Speaker 2: Okay, seeing as how you went for the bastard category,
- 26:50Speaker 2: I'm going to give you a bastard bravery point, and
- 26:52Speaker 2: so you can have one point. Shout up mom and
- 26:57Speaker 2: dead honestly, actually take that point away from them.
- 27:01Speaker 3: The point is for Amanda's mum.
- 27:03Speaker 2: I want to see what happens if because the audience
- 27:05Speaker 2: could win this damn. Okay, We've got two more words
- 27:15Speaker 2: to spell.
- 27:16Speaker 3: That is the rules of a.
- 27:17Speaker 2: Spelling be This time, Corn is going to give clues
- 27:20Speaker 2: for order to spell.
- 27:21Speaker 3: Would you like animal, vegetable or bastard.
- 27:24Speaker 5: I'll take vegetable please.
- 27:26Speaker 11: I am curious what vegetables have to do with the outdoors.
- 27:31Speaker 5: Let's see like vegetation.
- 27:34Speaker 2: Oh I do you'll have the thing where it's like animal,
- 27:38Speaker 2: vegetable or mineral in twenty questions. Yeah, so this is
- 27:41Speaker 2: animal vegetable, bastard, simple game, love it?
- 27:44Speaker 9: Oh all right, look away.
- 27:51Speaker 5: Okay, word just sure sound.
- 27:54Speaker 9: Yes, everybody made sounds as though they knew what this
- 27:56Speaker 9: word was. And so now I'm nervous because I won't spell.
- 28:00Speaker 5: Okay, here we go. I'll start with gesture Okay, got it, yes, wonderful.
- 28:14Speaker 1: Okay.
- 28:15Speaker 11: Next you'll be able to tell what I'm doing okay,
- 28:20Speaker 11: prickly okay, and then sound effect.
- 28:29Speaker 1: In tink.
- 28:32Speaker 5: Ping pong.
- 28:36Speaker 3: That's a good sound effect. Or do you think you
- 28:39Speaker 3: know what this might be?
- 28:39Speaker 9: I think I might know what this might be?
- 28:42Speaker 3: Take it away, C A C T U s.
- 28:50Speaker 10: Now.
- 28:50Speaker 5: I have to give my top.
- 28:51Speaker 14: Off as pleather is a notoriously outdoor material, always in
- 29:07Speaker 14: the past and just case.
- 29:13Speaker 2: So that's two points there. Let's let's hear one final
- 29:19Speaker 2: I'm leaving that in the record. Let's have one final word.
- 29:24Speaker 2: We've got give me the bastard.
- 29:26Speaker 10: Oh, there's scared.
- 29:31Speaker 3: Okay, Amanda, if you could look, thank you so much.
- 29:35Speaker 5: I smelled the desperation.
- 29:44Speaker 4: Reaction like bottles.
- 29:53Speaker 2: All right, Amanda, you can luck now, Chris, whenever you're ready,
- 29:57Speaker 2: in any order.
- 29:57Speaker 3: Your word, your sound, and your gesture.
- 30:01Speaker 7: Okay, so my word river, my sound.
- 30:17Speaker 4: Like a river?
- 30:18Speaker 15: Yeah?
- 30:22Speaker 3: What was the one gesture?
- 30:25Speaker 10: Right?
- 30:25Speaker 9: M hm.
- 30:29Speaker 1: Oh yeah, oh for sure, so wide and big.
- 30:34Speaker 4: I didn't say it.
- 30:37Speaker 3: Do you think you know what this might be? Amanda?
- 30:40Speaker 1: So far I have three of the same clue. I
- 30:45Speaker 1: can't imagine it's that simple.
- 30:47Speaker 2: But who's to say, yeah, that is what your teammate
- 30:49Speaker 2: did though, this.
- 30:54Speaker 4: Is the pastard?
- 30:55Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 30:57Speaker 4: Oh god?
- 30:59Speaker 3: Any any possible spelling? I just it's.
- 31:05Speaker 4: R I V E R.
- 31:08Speaker 1: I got from that.
- 31:09Speaker 3: It's a good guess because that those are the clues
- 31:11Speaker 3: you were given.
- 31:13Speaker 4: Did a job you got river?
- 31:16Speaker 3: I guess. I'm I just want to know Amanda's mom?
- 31:19Speaker 2: Could you? Could you? You just saw it on a
- 31:21Speaker 2: piece of paper, but could you spell this?
- 31:23Speaker 13: Sing?
- 31:25Speaker 1: Yes the sound of music, I S S I P P.
- 31:33Speaker 2: I will give them a basket point, but also give
- 31:37Speaker 2: Amanda's mom a point as well.
- 31:44Speaker 4: No, I had nothing but big and river.
- 31:46Speaker 1: I'm sorry, Mississippi, Mississippi river. Just like the concept of
- 31:52Speaker 1: the state, which is outside.
- 31:56Speaker 11: Now swingle or only sy.
- 32:01Speaker 2: Yes, fantastic. That is the end of round one. Give
- 32:05Speaker 2: it up, prospellos producer gin, could you please hike us
- 32:11Speaker 2: to a clearing where we can safely view the latest scores?
- 32:16Speaker 13: Most importantly.
- 32:37Speaker 4: Right, kind of hate that for them.
- 32:40Speaker 1: Though, Yeah, don't lose it all when you pack like
- 32:44Speaker 1: a lot of good food and then a bear eats
- 32:45Speaker 1: it all the.
- 32:47Speaker 5: Brother, Yeah, and then you smell bad too, brother.
- 32:56Speaker 2: Round two. Round two is called red Flag Green Flag.
- 33:06Speaker 2: It's the game where our panelists will have to take
- 33:08Speaker 2: a particular stance on a statement, no matter how they
- 33:11Speaker 2: personally feel about it in just a moment. I'm going
- 33:13Speaker 2: to ask our wonderful peak improv audience for an opinion
- 33:16Speaker 2: they have about the great outdoors, a hot take, a
- 33:19Speaker 2: cold viewpoint, an unhinged perspective. One team will then have
- 33:23Speaker 2: one minute on the clock to argue why that is
- 33:26Speaker 2: a red flag opinion they disagree with the statement, and
- 33:29Speaker 2: the other team will have one minute to argue why
- 33:31Speaker 2: it is a green flag opinion they agree with the statement.
- 33:35Speaker 2: I've forgotten to bring the flags, So we're just going
- 33:37Speaker 2: to say one team is going to take a turn
- 33:39Speaker 2: at each for each statement, So let's hear some statements.
- 33:45Speaker 2: That's a pretty big one for Colorado. Actually, and yeah,
- 33:48Speaker 2: all right, how do you feel about I hate snow?
- 33:51Speaker 9: I'm down for it?
- 33:52Speaker 10: Right?
- 33:52Speaker 2: Should we ask Julia a bit more about that opinion?
- 33:55Speaker 2: Do you want to cross examine?
- 33:56Speaker 9: Oh, what's your least favorite thing about snow?
- 34:01Speaker 13: Driving in it?
- 34:03Speaker 15: Yeah?
- 34:03Speaker 5: And do you have a garage?
- 34:05Speaker 16: It's but also going up like into the mountains when
- 34:21Speaker 16: there's snow, inclement weather one of the scariest things that's
- 34:25Speaker 16: ever happened.
- 34:27Speaker 11: I just rather it at all.
- 34:29Speaker 3: That's fair, that's there.
- 34:30Speaker 2: There's an argument that when you're in the car though
- 34:32Speaker 2: you are indoors, and so maybe that's true.
- 34:37Speaker 1: Four doors unless you have a jeep and then you
- 34:41Speaker 1: have no doors.
- 34:43Speaker 4: Is that true?
- 34:43Speaker 3: They don't have doors.
- 34:45Speaker 1: That's what Americans do. Know this.
- 34:50Speaker 3: Your okay?
- 34:55Speaker 2: So Julia one more time the statement I hate snow.
- 34:58Speaker 2: I hate snow. Okay, So we're gonna say that, Chris
- 35:02Speaker 2: and Amanda, you are going to agree with that statement
- 35:05Speaker 2: you also hate snow, and then we're gonna come to
- 35:08Speaker 2: order and corn you disagree with that, you think that's
- 35:11Speaker 2: a that's a bad opinion.
- 35:13Speaker 3: You are going to have one minute on the clock
- 35:15Speaker 3: to make your case.
- 35:17Speaker 1: Are you ready any stipulations with this?
- 35:21Speaker 2: Just basically go to bat for Julia's opinion, beautiful and
- 35:26Speaker 2: take it in whatever or do you want for thirty
- 35:28Speaker 2: seconds each? That's awesome. You want to go back and forth,
- 35:30Speaker 2: do it. Your time starts now.
- 35:34Speaker 1: Snow is nasty, it's cold, it's wet.
- 35:38Speaker 4: It's bad. Snow.
- 35:40Speaker 7: Can suck it, okay, am I just gonna go out
- 35:45Speaker 7: there and die.
- 35:46Speaker 4: Yeah, in my car you will.
- 35:48Speaker 1: And you're in your car isn't built for snow. By
- 35:51Speaker 1: the way, you bought to use twenty o two Toyota
- 35:56Speaker 1: Corolla not a super and it's not a super rue
- 35:59Speaker 1: and you're fucked man, And all the snow bunnies out
- 36:02Speaker 1: there are like, oh, snow, it's fresh, beatter today. No, dude,
- 36:05Speaker 1: you just crashed into a tree and now you're waiting
- 36:07Speaker 1: for nine to one one to arrive.
- 36:09Speaker 5: Fucker.
- 36:10Speaker 4: And we don't have universal health care. So now look
- 36:14Speaker 4: where you are. Oh god, okay you have.
- 36:19Speaker 1: There's too much on your roof, it'll collapse. And then
- 36:21Speaker 1: you want to have a house either, and I was
- 36:24Speaker 1: too expensive.
- 36:25Speaker 4: No house, no car. Fuck snow and other things as well.
- 36:30Speaker 7: Because we have two seconds left, there.
- 36:33Speaker 2: You go, finishing strong. I love these characters. Who are
- 36:37Speaker 2: these guys?
- 36:38Speaker 1: They have a podcast? I do you have a real sponsor?
- 36:41Speaker 1: They have real contact lenses sponsoring.
- 36:44Speaker 4: And help.
- 36:48Speaker 9: Contact lens money. You can't say no. They's so much
- 36:52Speaker 9: you can't say no.
- 36:54Speaker 3: Oh fantastic.
- 36:55Speaker 2: Well, we can't make a decision yet because we need
- 36:57Speaker 2: to hear the other side of the argument. I hate snow,
- 37:01Speaker 2: you guys, I guess love snow. All right, you've got
- 37:04Speaker 2: a minute to make the case for snow. The time
- 37:07Speaker 2: stots now.
- 37:09Speaker 9: Snow is one of the greatest and most beautiful challenges
- 37:12Speaker 9: that this world has to offer. How can you know
- 37:15Speaker 9: life if you don't look death in the face, And
- 37:18Speaker 9: every year it's just how can you really say that
- 37:23Speaker 9: you've lived?
- 37:24Speaker 11: Yeah, and how can you really test that X mode
- 37:27Speaker 11: on your Subaru unless you're like heading straight into a
- 37:31Speaker 11: ditch on the highway with all those military drivers around
- 37:35Speaker 11: who have never seen a flake in their lives.
- 37:38Speaker 5: What a wonderful way to make new friends.
- 37:40Speaker 9: When you're in the ditch with all those new people,
- 37:44Speaker 9: you can all take driving lessons together. It feels like
- 37:48Speaker 9: this is just a missed opportunity. If you don't like snow,
- 37:51Speaker 9: you don't like adventure, you don't like learning new things.
- 37:54Speaker 11: You don't like being hydrated, because snow melt is our
- 37:58Speaker 11: water source here, all right, So let's not forget like
- 38:01Speaker 11: do you like flushing your toilet? Because personally, I'm not
- 38:04Speaker 11: a yellow as mellow type of goal.
- 38:07Speaker 5: So that's how you're ending your point.
- 38:12Speaker 3: Fantastic.
- 38:14Speaker 2: I can't possibly decide who won this argument because I
- 38:17Speaker 2: am not yet a citizen, but let's have our peakin
- 38:21Speaker 2: prove audience decide if you thought the best argument about
- 38:24Speaker 2: snow was made by four pena make some noise now
- 38:30Speaker 2: and if you thought the best argument was by SPF
- 38:33Speaker 2: nine thousand, make some noise now h awfully similar.
- 38:41Speaker 4: I just want to say they kind of agreed with
- 38:43Speaker 4: us for the first half of theirs.
- 38:44Speaker 1: Yeah, and they're Patreons on our podcast.
- 38:50Speaker 2: Okay, I'm gonna say five points to SPF nine thousand, No,
- 38:55Speaker 2: five points to four pena and four points to.
- 39:00Speaker 3: Pointing my sunglasses like a dad.
- 39:03Speaker 9: Everybody with me.
- 39:04Speaker 2: Everybody everybody with me, butts and seats, And because I
- 39:12Speaker 2: forgot to bring the flags, we won't swap and do
- 39:14Speaker 2: this the other way round.
- 39:15Speaker 3: We'll say that's the end of the round.
- 39:19Speaker 2: Jen, Could you please shovel the driveway and clear it
- 39:22Speaker 2: to reveal the latest scores.
- 39:24Speaker 6: Chris does that?
- 39:26Speaker 13: Actually, we live on the south side of the road
- 39:29Speaker 13: and it.
- 39:29Speaker 17: Just melts for us. For here is on the six point,
- 39:44Speaker 17: but s F nine thousand is still in the lad
- 39:46Speaker 17: with eight points.
- 39:47Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm talking about.
- 39:50Speaker 13: Two points.
- 39:55Speaker 3: Let's give her a third point. Okay.
- 40:02Speaker 2: Round three is called bad trip Advisor. In this game,
- 40:05Speaker 2: our wonderful Peak improv audience will offer suggestions for places
- 40:09Speaker 2: of natural beauty. It could be anywhere in the world
- 40:11Speaker 2: that people visit think lakes, mountains, coastlines, desirable vacation spots,
- 40:16Speaker 2: that sort of thing. In turns our teams will compose
- 40:19Speaker 2: trip Advisor style reviews of these places. The twist, they'll
- 40:23Speaker 2: be delivered one word at a time, back and forth
- 40:25Speaker 2: between teammates and a role of this D six Who
- 40:30Speaker 2: wants the D six?
- 40:31Speaker 10: Oh?
- 40:34Speaker 3: Sorry, shiloh, noise was made.
- 40:37Speaker 1: Creamed their pants.
- 40:38Speaker 2: That will decide how many stars are being left for
- 40:48Speaker 2: this review. So we're hoping for high numbers. Low numbers.
- 40:52Speaker 2: Three star would not be ideal. All right, I think
- 40:56Speaker 2: that's about it. The reviews will continue until I say,
- 40:59Speaker 2: only you can prevent wildfires.
- 41:02Speaker 6: No, but let's let's.
- 41:04Speaker 2: Kick things off with some suggestions and places of natural beauty.
- 41:07Speaker 2: Let's god, God of the gods, Grand. I think I
- 41:16Speaker 2: like the Grand Canyon.
- 41:17Speaker 3: I know the Grand Canyon.
- 41:20Speaker 2: So we're gonna go with the Grand Canyon. And this
- 41:22Speaker 2: is going to be Audra and corn one word at
- 41:25Speaker 2: a time. Let's find out how many stars your review is. Sorry,
- 41:28Speaker 2: there's so many hats.
- 41:29Speaker 5: Out of six, out of five.
- 41:32Speaker 2: Out of five, So it's a four star review on
- 41:35Speaker 2: trip Advisor of the Grand Canyon.
- 41:38Speaker 3: Take it away.
- 41:40Speaker 12: Wow, what a beautiful view of the large.
- 41:51Speaker 5: Butt crack in the way.
- 41:59Speaker 1: Period.
- 42:02Speaker 12: I've seen a lot, a lot of butt cracks, and
- 42:12Speaker 12: this one takes the cake.
- 42:17Speaker 5: The canyon was blocked, but.
- 42:25Speaker 9: This adventurous man found.
- 42:32Speaker 15: A shortcut to the ground.
- 42:39Speaker 9: Period.
- 42:42Speaker 10: When he found that ground, he said, oh, what a
- 42:52Speaker 10: beautiful penny.
- 42:54Speaker 1: Only you where advance fall to stab.
- 43:01Speaker 9: Yeah, that is not a four star review.
- 43:05Speaker 11: He had such a nice butt crack that Justick took.
- 43:09Speaker 1: The cake.
- 43:12Speaker 9: Crack of America.
- 43:13Speaker 3: I do love it. Like what would it have taken
- 43:15Speaker 3: to get that extra star? You know?
- 43:18Speaker 9: Good coffee?
- 43:19Speaker 11: Yeah, yeah, Instant Coffee. Shout out to Instant Coffee for
- 43:24Speaker 11: the outdoors, because if it wasn't for that, I'm not.
- 43:27Speaker 3: Going, oh fantastic. I like that.
- 43:32Speaker 2: But I'm gonna wait to hear the other review, just
- 43:34Speaker 2: because that's how I'm deciding this evening.
- 43:36Speaker 3: That we're judging this so fair.
- 43:38Speaker 6: That's so fair.
- 43:39Speaker 2: Okay, we need a place of natural beauty for Chris
- 43:42Speaker 2: and Amanda to leave a trip Advisor review for what
- 43:45Speaker 2: have you got?
- 43:45Speaker 5: The Redwood?
- 43:48Speaker 10: Oh?
- 43:49Speaker 3: I like, I like the Redwoods.
- 43:51Speaker 2: That's the one in California, right, yeah, okay, a review
- 43:56Speaker 2: of the red Woods child the dice too, a two
- 44:03Speaker 2: star review of the Redwoods for trip Advisor.
- 44:05Speaker 4: Take it Away, Sin Francisco. That's one word, right.
- 44:16Speaker 18: Was in despair. I couldn't even look at it. Trees
- 44:31Speaker 18: were so big, I couldn't handle it. Unfortunately, the Redwoods
- 44:46Speaker 18: were on fire.
- 44:50Speaker 4: Thanks to all you fuckers. My vacation was ruined.
- 45:06Speaker 6: Two stars.
- 45:07Speaker 4: Four you only you prevent wildfire.
- 45:15Speaker 3: Sounds like your vacation was ruined.
- 45:20Speaker 4: You know, maybe a little affected by what's currently happening here.
- 45:24Speaker 4: Everything's just on fire. That's true.
- 45:26Speaker 3: That's true. It's on the mind.
- 45:27Speaker 4: Are the red Woods on fire?
- 45:28Speaker 1: I don't think so.
- 45:29Speaker 3: I don't.
- 45:30Speaker 2: Somebody called that I'd be on San Francisco.
- 45:41Speaker 1: That word you said. I was like sin, Did you
- 45:43Speaker 1: say sin?
- 45:44Speaker 5: Sand? And I was like the red Woods sand?
- 45:48Speaker 3: Now, my dad, No, that was great. I loved both
- 45:53Speaker 3: of those reviews.
- 45:54Speaker 2: But I can't decide because I've been banned from old
- 45:57Speaker 2: national parks. So let's have a peak and of audience decide.
- 46:00Speaker 2: If you thought four pena gave the best review, makes
- 46:03Speaker 2: some noise now.
- 46:06Speaker 3: If you thought SBF nine thousand made the best review,
- 46:09Speaker 3: make some noise.
- 46:10Speaker 2: Now, that didn't sound as enthusiastic I think it was
- 46:15Speaker 2: four PENA who gave the best review, So let's go
- 46:17Speaker 2: five points to four pena, four points to SPF nine thousand.
- 46:21Speaker 9: Love it, n.
- 46:27Speaker 1: I'm spend all my points on a BioVac.
- 46:34Speaker 7: Shut up, but you need a BioVac for your bit
- 46:37Speaker 7: of a work.
- 46:39Speaker 4: Checked out?
- 46:41Speaker 3: Oh fantastic. That is the end of round three.
- 46:44Speaker 2: Producer Jen help, I've got sunburn and I've been bit
- 46:46Speaker 2: on the bottom via big b.
- 46:48Speaker 3: Could you please read the later scores.
- 46:55Speaker 9: You can figure it out.
- 47:04Speaker 2: That is close heading into the quick fire around where
- 47:07Speaker 2: everything can change.
- 47:12Speaker 3: Actually excited for the others. Sorry, sorry? Is that? Is
- 47:16Speaker 3: that your podcast? The characters doing that? That's sure? I
- 47:20Speaker 3: mean in the same yeah, okay, oh these are characters.
- 47:26Speaker 4: Okay, we do have a podcast. We're very problematic.
- 47:31Speaker 5: We say a lot of stuff.
- 47:32Speaker 3: It's the quick fire.
- 47:34Speaker 9: Whatever you want, give us one hot take you have
- 47:36Speaker 9: on your podcast.
- 47:39Speaker 4: Doctors don't need them.
- 47:42Speaker 3: This is going out, not retracting it. Not retracting it.
- 47:50Speaker 1: You do need contacts sponsored by one hundred contacts cont
- 47:58Speaker 1: pay so well, prescribed them.
- 48:01Speaker 4: But not if you know a guy.
- 48:08Speaker 9: Our sponsorships we are like hemorrhaging sponsorship.
- 48:18Speaker 2: And with that our final quick fire around, we'll test
- 48:21Speaker 2: your broader pop culture knowledge. And it's called National Larks
- 48:25Speaker 2: and it's it's just a bit of wordplay.
- 48:27Speaker 3: Fun guys. Just get your word play on.
- 48:31Speaker 5: I'm going to need my pleasure for that.
- 48:34Speaker 2: In this game, I will give our players clues to
- 48:37Speaker 2: the name of a national park where I've changed one
- 48:40Speaker 2: letter to give it a new definition entirely, so I
- 48:43Speaker 2: would like to hear the new one letter change definition,
- 48:47Speaker 2: so it'll be sound like a national park apart from
- 48:50Speaker 2: one letter. It's quick fire, so you buzz in by
- 48:53Speaker 2: yelling out your team name. Let's practice that.
- 48:55Speaker 10: Now, per.
- 48:58Speaker 3: Nice.
- 48:59Speaker 2: It does take longer to yelban. I'm just gonna say
- 49:03Speaker 2: nine thousand versus Peena, the classic battle.
- 49:09Speaker 9: And you don't want to mix some.
- 49:12Speaker 5: Because then you'll need a doctor.
- 49:19Speaker 3: We will do an example just before I start the timer.
- 49:26Speaker 6: My name is Bungus.
- 49:31Speaker 3: This is Amanda's second show of the.
- 49:34Speaker 5: Hat again.
- 49:40Speaker 2: So here's an example of how this is going to work.
- 49:43Speaker 2: If I said a group of high school football players
- 49:46Speaker 2: are spending time in northern Colorado, they're going to look
- 49:49Speaker 2: for a moose while riding horses beside Emerald Lake, you
- 49:53Speaker 2: would be going to.
- 49:56Speaker 3: Fantastic start. This is the easiest one.
- 50:00Speaker 4: Is he talking about.
- 50:02Speaker 3: A national park in northern Colorado.
- 50:06Speaker 5: Rocky Mountain National Park?
- 50:07Speaker 9: Mountain National Park.
- 50:08Speaker 6: I already said it nine tack.
- 50:11Speaker 3: If it was a group of high school football players, yes.
- 50:14Speaker 9: Nine thousand, I always buzzed in by saying my own name,
- 50:17Speaker 9: a Jockey Mountain National it would.
- 50:19Speaker 1: Be looking for the pun and okay, I see yeah, yeah.
- 50:28Speaker 3: It's okay.
- 50:29Speaker 4: I'm dumb.
- 50:31Speaker 3: You know, you're very smart. You're gonna do great at this,
- 50:33Speaker 3: but equally.
- 50:35Speaker 2: Okay, okay, interrupt me at any point during the clue,
- 50:38Speaker 2: but you might need to hear all of it.
- 50:40Speaker 3: Let's go.
- 50:42Speaker 2: The King of the Jungle is going to visit Utah's
- 50:45Speaker 2: first national park.
- 50:46Speaker 3: He'll roll with delight.
- 50:48Speaker 4: Yes, correct, Lion National Parky.
- 50:51Speaker 2: Lion Carved by the Colorado River over six million years,
- 50:58Speaker 2: This Arizona icon has been secreting chemicals into the desert landscape.
- 51:02Speaker 3: For an age.
- 51:03Speaker 2: Perhaps it was carved by the tip of God's penis,
- 51:06Speaker 2: or her overduth or her overactive thyroid.
- 51:14Speaker 4: Okay, yes, Christ.
- 51:27Speaker 2: Straddling two states, the most visited US National park is
- 51:32Speaker 2: just a series of garden water features. Each of these
- 51:35Speaker 2: grand pooling water spooters are covered in a dense haze.
- 51:39Speaker 2: The This truly is America's favorite range of gravity fed
- 51:44Speaker 2: water sources.
- 51:51Speaker 3: Any guesses for this one?
- 51:53Speaker 4: I got thrown off by what did you say?
- 51:54Speaker 2: Squirters, technical spooters, spooters?
- 52:00Speaker 4: Anyone?
- 52:01Speaker 3: Anyone in the audience. Have this one. You can start
- 52:03Speaker 3: racking up points. Yeah. Absolutely.
- 52:07Speaker 2: Straddling two states, the most visited US National Park is
- 52:11Speaker 2: just a series of garden water features. Each of these
- 52:14Speaker 2: grand pooling water spooters are covered in a dense haze.
- 52:19Speaker 2: Covered in a dense haze. This truly is America's favorite
- 52:23Speaker 2: range of gravity fed water sources. Uh peener, yes, Christ Mellowstone,
- 52:29Speaker 2: it's not.
- 52:29Speaker 19: I'm afraid it was like a weed reference. No, you
- 52:33Speaker 19: didn't get it's a weed, all right.
- 52:40Speaker 3: No one's got this one in the room nine thousands.
- 52:46Speaker 9: Yellow Smoke National Park. It's Yellowstone.
- 52:51Speaker 2: No, we're looking for the great Smoky fountains. Yeah, that's
- 52:56Speaker 2: and that's the reaction.
- 52:57Speaker 11: I live for the guysers, our guyers there they have.
- 53:04Speaker 3: Mountains has changed to fountains.
- 53:06Speaker 11: Yeah, it wasn't about squirting gazer.
- 53:10Speaker 3: Keep keep Yellowstone in mind.
- 53:11Speaker 10: It might come up, Okay, Okay, i's still spoon seven
- 53:16Speaker 10: more of the they.
- 53:20Speaker 1: Want to go back inside.
- 53:23Speaker 3: Inside.
- 53:25Speaker 2: Covering seven hundred and ninety five thousand acres of southern California,
- 53:28Speaker 2: the world's largest sci fi convention is held by a
- 53:31Speaker 2: man with a very basic name known for bizarre alien
- 53:35Speaker 2: like succulents. William Shatner and Sir Patrick Stewart did a
- 53:38Speaker 2: photo shoot there in nineteen ninety nine.
- 53:42Speaker 15: Okay, nine thousand, Yes, Joshua, track it is.
- 53:52Speaker 2: It would be wise to invest in this volcanic Wyoming park.
- 53:56Speaker 4: Interesting.
- 53:58Speaker 2: It is the world's first national park, so it's a
- 54:00Speaker 2: safe trade. If your gen Z portfolio is strong, you'll
- 54:04Speaker 2: know where to single out a meme here invest trade
- 54:12Speaker 2: gen Z slang.
- 54:15Speaker 6: None of us are zonk Yellow.
- 54:23Speaker 2: The tragically deceased beloved two thousand's Australian actor has been
- 54:28Speaker 2: spotted alive in the hottest, driest and lowest park in
- 54:31Speaker 2: the US. This joker can be seen not in the
- 54:34Speaker 2: peaks of California, but here in the lower areas, although
- 54:38Speaker 2: he did once break his back going up a mountain.
- 54:43Speaker 3: Nine thousand, Yes, Ordre.
- 54:47Speaker 9: Heath Valley.
- 54:48Speaker 3: It is Heath Valley, Death Valley.

- 55:11Speaker 2: eroded butte spires and the largest protected mixed grass prairie
- 55:15Speaker 2: in the United States. That sounds like it'll be a
- 55:18Speaker 2: good night's sleep. I hope they fluff the pillows and
- 55:21Speaker 2: turn over the sheets. In South Dakota, the thing is
- 55:28Speaker 2: someone in the audience, I think it was Christy, said
- 55:30Speaker 2: they think they know it first, so let's let's go.
- 55:33Speaker 5: Yeah, it's.
- 55:36Speaker 2: Points of the audience. Good stuff, Okay, rapid fire Colorado
- 55:40Speaker 2: born us round. In southern Colorado, witches and wizards cast
- 55:44Speaker 2: spells at each other as they surf on dusty mounds.
- 55:47Speaker 2: Harry Potters is.
- 55:49Speaker 5: Great, Wan Dunes, Yes, it is great, one dudes.
- 55:52Speaker 3: Still Colorado.
- 55:53Speaker 2: In western Colorado, an entire dark ravine is made out
- 55:57Speaker 2: of legos, millions and millions of legos. In Montrose County,
- 56:01Speaker 2: home to Colorado's highest cliff. That's got to be a
- 56:04Speaker 2: billion lego stacked together.
- 56:06Speaker 4: Damn. As you know. More about my state, The.
- 56:09Speaker 1: Second thing is that I've known so many states, but
- 56:11Speaker 1: I don't know any of the references, all of the
- 56:14Speaker 1: park names.
- 56:15Speaker 3: But I'm like, what the fuck is.
- 56:16Speaker 2: You can share the park name with your teammate for sure,
- 56:21Speaker 2: because that's what's been happening over.
- 56:27Speaker 4: Oh, we can do that.
- 56:29Speaker 2: Yeah, anyone in the audience know this one.
- 56:34Speaker 3: I guess take it great?
- 56:37Speaker 9: Do it blocks canyon?
- 56:41Speaker 2: You know I'm going to give you it because no
- 56:42Speaker 2: one else is saying anything A block canyon of the
- 56:44Speaker 2: Gunnison in southwest Colorado. It's still going. This self referential
- 56:53Speaker 2: and aware of itself. Park was designated to protecting it
- 56:57Speaker 2: nearly five thousand archaeological sites reserving the works of humankind.
- 57:02Speaker 2: But it knows it's a national park and will often
- 57:04Speaker 2: break the fourth wall to you know, prove it.
- 57:12Speaker 5: Oh Nino, Yes, Meta Verde.
- 57:15Speaker 2: It is metad stuff and quick mercifully before the buzzer.
- 57:19Speaker 2: A giant secret agent called James is terrorizing southwest Texas.
- 57:23Speaker 2: He's stomping all over this turn in the Rio Grande
- 57:26Speaker 2: double o seven has gone rogue. He's massive, and he's
- 57:29Speaker 2: at the southern border. Lord help us all South bond
- 57:34Speaker 2: It's not that I'm so sorry.
- 57:36Speaker 5: Oh big bar.
- 57:38Speaker 2: It's big Bond and that's the buzzer that I will
- 57:42Speaker 2: add in post production before we get to the final scores.

- 1:02:11Speaker 2: so I'm off to enjoy that. But before i head
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: off for a little summer break, I've got to say
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: thank you to some very special people, those Leapfrogs who
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: support us at the highest tier over at Patreon dot
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: com Forward slash Gate Leapers, our wonderful executive producers are
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: games masters, and actually, on my ten days of summer vacation,
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: I'm going to be camping with all of them.
- 1:02:34Speaker 3: So let's uh, let's check in now.
- 1:02:37Speaker 2: If I know two people who know how to pack
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: the car for a camping trip, it's Ash and Adam.
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: It's like Tetris in there. Everything's so efficiently placed, and
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: if you put the cooler next to the tent bag,
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: it disappears and you make more room. Just In Dodberg
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: remembered to pack the waterproof sleeping bags. Don't ask why.
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: And when we arrived by the lake, Derek and Taylor
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: were already there chilling in the shade. They are always
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: such a calming presence. And we are by the lake,
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: so there's a lot of bugs. But thankfully Aaron Randolph
- 1:03:06Speaker 2: remembered to bring those those things that you stick in
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: the ground and then light to stop the bugs from
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: coming near. That I've seen Americans do. Are they are
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: they problematic? Are they the right wing things? I don't know,
- 1:03:20Speaker 2: but Aaron's brought them. Forget for me. I forgot to
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: pack a lunch for everyone, But fortunately Kristin Farley has
- 1:03:27Speaker 2: remembered to pack lunch for literally everyone on this list,
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: with gluten free and vegetarian options available. Thank you so much, Kristin.
- 1:03:35Speaker 2: And who's that out on the lake in a speed boat.
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: That's Troy Davidson. Wait a minute, he's got people on
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: jet skis on the back that they're being pulled along.
- 1:03:46Speaker 3: It's the entire cast of Team Up.
- 1:03:48Speaker 2: It's Johnny, it's Deph, it's Ethan, it's Ben and now
- 1:03:51Speaker 2: they're climbing on top of each other and making some
- 1:03:53Speaker 2: kind of human pyramid. This is somebody filmed this up.
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: There's Corbyinstein with the camera ready to capture this magne
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: magnificent display. Also, he's doing some nature watching. He's taking
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: in that's an impressive picture of a bird, Corbin. Oh no,
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: there's a bear approaching. What are we going to do? Fortunately,
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: Ivan Grossman has got bear spray. He remembered to pack
- 1:04:15Speaker 2: it when the rest of us didn't. And if anyone
- 1:04:18Speaker 2: can scare away a big bear, it's Ivan. I think
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: it's time to settle in for the night in my tent.
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: Wait a minute, it's not empty. Whose tent is this?
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: I've walked into Matt Smith and Shirley Stouts tent room
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: for a little one.
- 1:04:33Speaker 3: Ah.
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: What a lovely camping holiday. My back hurts and my
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: sleep pattern is ruined. Thank you so much, Executive Producers

- 1:05:26Speaker 2: backing of people and goll me crazy, but I prefer
- 1:05:30Speaker 2: people to big business. I know, shocking take in the
- 1:05:33Speaker 2: twenty twenties. We will be back in two weeks with
- 1:05:36Speaker 2: a brand new Pandemonium. It could be one of three
- 1:05:40Speaker 2: different things. We're recording so much in the next few
- 1:05:42Speaker 2: weeks and until then, enjoy your summer break if if
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: that's what you're also taking now, just just enjoy your summer.
