  Speaker 1: to reach the listener's hearts and minds and be able

  Speaker 1: to apply these verses to their lives. And the Lord

  Speaker 1: Jesus Christ name I pray a men. So there was

  Speaker 1: a little bit of confusion with the episodes that I've

  Speaker 1: done with the Gospel of Matthew. So I'm just gonna

  Speaker 1: go to Matthew chapter twenty five tonight. If you wanna

  Speaker 1: Matthew chapter twenty five, and it's titled Jesus tells a
• 0:50
  Speaker 1: story about ten young women at a marriage party. Verse
• 0:56
  Speaker 1: one states Jesus said, I'd tell you another to show
• 1:01
  Speaker 1: what the Kingdom of Heaven is like. There were ten
• 1:04
  Speaker 1: young women who were going to a marriage party. They
• 1:08
  Speaker 1: took their lamps with them, and they went to meet
• 1:11
  Speaker 1: the man who was marrying a wife. Five of these
• 1:15
  Speaker 1: young women were silly. The other five young women were wives.
• 1:21
  Speaker 1: Verse three. The silly women took their lamps with them,
• 1:25
  Speaker 1: but they did not take any extra oil with them.
• 1:29
  Speaker 1: Verse four. The five wise women took jars of oil
• 1:33
  Speaker 1: with their lamps. Verse five. The man did not come
• 1:37
  Speaker 1: to marry the marriage party for a long time, so
• 1:42
  Speaker 1: all the young women became tired, and they went to sleep.

  Speaker 1: Verse six. In the middle of the night, someone shouted out,
• 1:49
  Speaker 1: the man is coming. Come out to meet him. The
• 1:52
  Speaker 1: ten young women woke up and were in verse seven. Matthew,
• 1:56
  Speaker 1: chapter twenty five. Then they prepared their lamps to make
• 1:59
  Speaker 1: them give light. Verse eight. The five silly young women

  Speaker 1: said to the other five young women, give us some
• 2:09
  Speaker 1: of your oil, because our lamps are not giving much light.

  Speaker 1: We're gonna go deep here. We're talking about the wise women.
• 2:17
  Speaker 1: How they replied, if we did that, then there would
• 2:22
  Speaker 1: not be enough oil for all of us. You must
• 2:25
  Speaker 1: go instead to the people who sell oil. You must
• 2:29
  Speaker 1: buy some oil for yourself. Being wise is being equipped
• 2:37
  Speaker 1: in this story. The wise women knew that the oil
• 2:41
  Speaker 1: would burn up quick, so they needed extra. When I
• 2:47
  Speaker 1: see this as the silly women are thinking that the
• 2:55
  Speaker 1: oil that they brought was gonna be enough for the party, right,
• 2:58
  Speaker 1: and obviously it wasn't because they lacked the wisdom of
• 3:02
  Speaker 1: how much the oil was going to burn or how
• 3:05
  Speaker 1: long the marriage party was gonna be verse nine. The
• 3:07
  Speaker 1: wise women replied, actually, we've already stated that forgive me
• 3:12
  Speaker 1: verse ten. So these five women went to buy some oil.
• 3:15
  Speaker 1: Why they were away. The man arrived for his marriage party.
• 3:20
  Speaker 1: The five wise women were ready. They went with him
• 3:24
  Speaker 1: into the house for the party. Then the servants shut
• 3:27
  Speaker 1: the door verse eleven. Later, the five silly women also
• 3:32
  Speaker 1: came to the house. They said, sir, sir, please open
• 3:37
  Speaker 1: the door for us, but he replied, I tell you,
• 3:40
  Speaker 1: I do not know you. Then Jesus said to the people,
• 3:43
  Speaker 1: so you must watch carefully. You do not know on
• 3:47
  Speaker 1: what day or what time I will return. See. I
• 3:50
  Speaker 1: loved how Jesus used parables, because there was five wise
• 3:56
  Speaker 1: women that were going to be able to be presented

  Speaker 1: to the man. Right, this is almost like the Bachelor,

  Speaker 1: or there's some TV reality show about this in a sense. Right,
• 4:10
  Speaker 1: And it's not necessarily to the story with the oil,
• 4:13
  Speaker 1: but I'm using a parable hah, I see you Spirit.

  Speaker 1: And the truth of the matter is is that Jesus
• 4:21
  Speaker 1: was letting them know that being in connection with him
• 4:30
  Speaker 1: and knowing that you don't have to get ready if
• 4:34
  Speaker 1: you stay ready right, because you never know when Jesus
• 4:39
  Speaker 1: is gonna return. It says it in the Bible that
• 4:42
  Speaker 1: he's gonna come like in a thief in the night,
• 4:44
  Speaker 1: and he's gonna get He's gonna come to redeem his people.
• 4:50
  Speaker 1: Me and you that believe and follow right and being
• 4:59
  Speaker 1: wise is something that comes over time for this individual.

  Speaker 1: I learned through trial and error how to move and
• 5:11
  Speaker 1: how to be of the spirit, and not necessarily the
• 5:17
  Speaker 1: other spirits. I had to learn the hard way, and
• 5:21
  Speaker 1: that's okay either way. I learned, and I'm here and
• 5:24
  Speaker 1: I'm him. I want to make that clear. I'm not
• 5:27
  Speaker 1: boasting in myself. I'm boasting for what's in me and
• 5:30
  Speaker 1: the Holy Spirit. Amen, you can obtain the same thing.
• 5:35
  Speaker 1: Let's go ahead and see where we're at in time.

  Speaker 1: We're good, and let's continue the next verse fourteen, and
• 5:49
  Speaker 1: we'll see where we can get and then we'll close
• 5:50
  Speaker 1: out its title. Jesus tells a story about three servants
• 5:55
  Speaker 1: and their master's money. Verse fourteen. Jesus said, the kingdom
• 5:59
  Speaker 1: of Heaven is also like a man who began a journey.

  Speaker 1: Before the master went away, he told his servants to
• 6:06
  Speaker 1: come to him. He said to them, take care of
• 6:10
  Speaker 1: all my money and all my things for me. Verse fifteen.

  Speaker 1: The master gave one servant five thousand gold coins. He
• 6:19
  Speaker 1: gave another two thousand gold coins. He gave one thousand
• 6:23
  Speaker 1: gold coins to another servant. The master gave to each
• 6:26
  Speaker 1: servant what he would be able to use well. Then
• 6:31
  Speaker 1: he went away on his journey. The servant who had
• 6:34
  Speaker 1: received five thousand gold coins went out immediately. He bought
• 6:39
  Speaker 1: and sold things with the money. When he did this,
• 6:43
  Speaker 1: he got five thousand more gold coins. The servant who
• 6:47
  Speaker 1: had received two thousand gold coins did the same thing.
• 6:50
  Speaker 1: The servants got two thousand more gold coins. This is
• 6:53
  Speaker 1: where we both learn. I'm learning too, You're not the
• 6:56
  Speaker 1: only one listener Verse eighteen. But the servant who had
• 7:00
  Speaker 1: received only one thousand gold coins did something different. He
• 7:04
  Speaker 1: went outside, and he dug a hole in the ground
• 7:07
  Speaker 1: buried the money that his master had given him. After
• 7:13
  Speaker 1: a long time, the master came home. He asked the
• 7:15
  Speaker 1: servants to come to him. He wanted to know how
• 7:19
  Speaker 1: much money they had. Now. The servant who received five
• 7:22
  Speaker 1: thousand gold coins came to his master. The servant said, Master,
• 7:26
  Speaker 1: you gave me five thousand gold coins. Now I have
• 7:28
  Speaker 1: an extra five thousand gold coins. The master said to
• 7:31
  Speaker 1: the servants, you are a good servant and you have
• 7:35
  Speaker 1: done really well. You were careful with the small amount
• 7:38
  Speaker 1: of money. Now I will give you authority over many
• 7:41
  Speaker 1: more things. Come now and he will be happy. We
• 7:45
  Speaker 1: will be happy together. Verse twenty two. The servant who
• 7:48
  Speaker 1: had received two thousand gold coins came to his master.
• 7:51
  Speaker 1: The servant said, Master, you gave me two thousand gold coins.
• 7:54
  Speaker 1: Now I have an extra two thousand gold coins. The
• 7:57
  Speaker 1: master said to the servant, you are a good service
• 8:00
  Speaker 1: and you have done very well. You were careful with
• 8:02
  Speaker 1: a small amount of money. Now I will give you
• 8:05
  Speaker 1: authority over many more things. Come now and we will
• 8:08
  Speaker 1: be happy together. Excuse me. The servant who had received
• 8:12
  Speaker 1: one thousand gold coins then came to his master, and
• 8:16
  Speaker 1: the servant said, Master, I know what you are like.
• 8:19
  Speaker 1: You tell people what they should do all the time.
• 8:22
  Speaker 1: You take food from fields where you did not put
• 8:25
  Speaker 1: any seeds in the ground. You get fruit from trees
• 8:28
  Speaker 1: that you did not plant. Twenty five. This man's got
• 8:31
  Speaker 1: some courage, so I was afraid of you. I went
• 8:35
  Speaker 1: and I buried your gold coins in the ground. Look
• 8:39
  Speaker 1: here they are. You can have your money back again.
• 8:42
  Speaker 1: The master said to him, you are a bad and
• 8:45
  Speaker 1: lazy servant. You know what I am like, do you?
• 8:49
  Speaker 1: I get food from fields where I did not put
• 8:51
  Speaker 1: any seeds. I get fruit from trees I did not plant.
• 8:54
  Speaker 1: You knew all that Verse twenty seven. So you should
• 8:58
  Speaker 1: have put the money into a bank when I came home.
• 9:02
  Speaker 1: I could have received my money back from the bank
• 9:04
  Speaker 1: with some extra money. Then the master said to his
• 9:07
  Speaker 1: other servant that take one thousand gold coins from his
• 9:10
  Speaker 1: dispad servant. Give them to the man, who now has
• 9:13
  Speaker 1: ten thousand coins. Some people have received good things. They
• 9:17
  Speaker 1: will all receive even more and have lots of good things.
• 9:20
  Speaker 1: Some other people have nothing. Those people will lose even
• 9:23
  Speaker 1: the little bits they do have Verse thirty more. Close
• 9:28
  Speaker 1: out the servant cannot work for any longer. Take him
• 9:31
  Speaker 1: outside and throw him into a dark place. Their people
• 9:35
  Speaker 1: will cry, and they will bite their teeth together. So
• 9:40
  Speaker 1: what God gives you, he wants it to be multiplied,
• 9:46
  Speaker 1: obviously in this story, right, and to to talk back
• 9:55
  Speaker 1: in the way that the servant that got one thousand
• 9:58
  Speaker 1: gold coins, he was given an opportunity, right. And what
• 10:04
  Speaker 1: really stands out to me is that it doesn't really
• 10:09
  Speaker 1: necessarily matter the amount, because the ones that got more
• 10:17
  Speaker 1: received more, the one that got less just it stayed
• 10:21
  Speaker 1: the same. And the moral of this story is that
• 10:27
  Speaker 1: it's not always good to just save money. It's not
• 10:30
  Speaker 1: always good to just hold on to things, right, Like
• 10:36
  Speaker 1: Jesus was a prime example of this, even as disciples
• 10:42
  Speaker 1: wondered what was he going to do with the two
• 10:46
  Speaker 1: fish and the five loafs of bread? And he multiplied it. Right.
• 10:50
  Speaker 1: God is in the business of multiplying. He wants us
• 10:53
  Speaker 1: to multiply. And I'm not sitting here saying that I
• 10:57
  Speaker 1: needed to hear this just as much as you needed
• 11:00
  Speaker 1: to hear this episode today. So did I because I
• 11:04
  Speaker 1: need to know that I have been terrible with money
• 11:07
  Speaker 1: and I need to change that in order to be
• 11:11
  Speaker 1: blessed to have more. God will give you the opportunity, right,
• 11:20
  Speaker 1: and it's what we do with it. It's how we
• 11:23
  Speaker 1: spend our money. It's how we can necessarily save it
• 11:28
  Speaker 1: right and think that that's going to do something. And obviously,
• 11:31
  Speaker 1: in the parableet that the Master said, you should have
• 11:34
  Speaker 1: put it in the bank and you would have got
• 11:35
  Speaker 1: extra right. And it's like we all have that opportunity
• 11:41
  Speaker 1: to do right and finances. And I know moving forward
• 11:46
  Speaker 1: that I'm going to be better because of this. I'm
• 11:48
  Speaker 1: applying these verses to my lives tonight, Amen. And I
• 11:52
  Speaker 1: needed it at the right time. God's always on time.
• 11:56
  Speaker 1: I want, I want to I want to spend some
• 11:58
  Speaker 1: time allowing Holy Spirit to take over as well. God's
• 12:02
  Speaker 1: always on time. He's never going to be early, he's
• 12:06
  Speaker 1: never going to be late. He's always on time. He's
• 12:09
  Speaker 1: never going to give you too much more than you
• 12:11
  Speaker 1: can handle. And that's the beauty of God's marvelous, marvelous
• 12:23
  Speaker 1: grace and love. He allows us to go through certain things.
• 12:30
  Speaker 1: He allows us to learn. If we are willing to learn,
• 12:35
  Speaker 1: how do we change? We are honest, open and willing
• 12:39
  Speaker 1: to be able to accept that we need to change.
• 12:45
  Speaker 1: If something stays the same, nothing changes. And that's why
• 12:50
  Speaker 1: you have to get out of your comfort zone. You
• 12:53
  Speaker 1: have to take some risk as well. No risk, no reward.
• 12:57
  Speaker 1: But also when you're looking for a savings account, make
• 13:00
  Speaker 1: sure it has a good interest rate on it, right,
• 13:03
  Speaker 1: and be able to invest, invest in things that you
• 13:07
  Speaker 1: know that are going to profit. This is something that
• 13:10
  Speaker 1: I will definitely be able to do in the future.
• 13:14
  Speaker 1: Buy and resell, you know, supply and demand is something
• 13:20
  Speaker 1: that has been installed in my mind and now I
• 13:24
  Speaker 1: just need to apply it to my life. Amen. And
• 13:29
  Speaker 1: God does not want us to be poor. Yes, maybe
• 13:32
  Speaker 1: the higher powers want us to be poor. And the
• 13:35
  Speaker 1: way that we're programmed through the food and through the
• 13:37
  Speaker 1: TV and all this junk that we consume, right, fast food, this, that,
• 13:43
  Speaker 1: and I can keep going down the list, but I
• 13:44
  Speaker 1: think you get the GISTs of the idea. But being
• 13:47
  Speaker 1: in the word, being in relationship, being in praise, allowing
• 13:51
  Speaker 1: the Holy Spirit to be able to direct your next moves,
• 13:55
  Speaker 1: which is a choice, trust the process in that, because
• 14:00
  Speaker 1: it's like the more and more that you continue to
• 14:04
  Speaker 1: stay in the same routine when it comes to your finances,
• 14:12
  Speaker 1: it might be a lot. Right, Oh, I give God
• 14:13
  Speaker 1: ten percent, We'll put it into something that's actually going
• 14:18
  Speaker 1: to help God's kingdom and glorify God, Jesus in the
• 14:26
