  Speaker 1: Good morning. I'm John North as we head into this

  Speaker 1: Tuesday morning. Let's take some time with God together and

  Speaker 1: start our day right.

  Speaker 1: If possible, every day of your life should be started
• 0:18
  Speaker 1: with some special time for God.
• 0:22
  Speaker 1: Time to listen to Him. So often when we come
• 0:25
  Speaker 1: to God, we have our prayer list, our things we
• 0:28
  Speaker 1: want to ask Him for, and we rush straight into that.
• 0:31
  Speaker 1: But we need to learn in our lives to stop first.
• 0:37
  Speaker 1: And get quiet and read God's word and invite God
• 0:42
  Speaker 1: to do His work in our hearts and lives. God's
• 0:46
  Speaker 1: work in you is much more important than God's work
• 0:50
  Speaker 1: for you. You need to allow God to do His
• 0:55
  Speaker 1: work in your heart and life.
• 0:57
  Speaker 1: And we're talking this week on the theme of God's
• 0:59
  Speaker 1: voice in our lives. We looked yesterday at Genesis chapter
• 1:03
  Speaker 1: one and the creation of mankind.
• 1:07
  Speaker 1: As you read through Genesis, you come to chapter 6,
• 1:10
  Speaker 1: and you find that as mankind turned away from God, uh,
• 1:14
  Speaker 1: that something fell within our nature, we became naturally sinful people,
• 1:20
  Speaker 1: and the evil of mankind on the earth was so
• 1:24
  Speaker 1: offensive to God. It says in Genesis chapter 6, verse 11.

  Speaker 1: Now the earth was corrupt in the sight of God,
• 1:33
  Speaker 1: and the earth was filled with violence.
• 1:36
  Speaker 1: And God looked on the earth, and behold, it was corrupt,
• 1:40
  Speaker 1: for all flesh had corrupted their way upon the earth.
• 1:45
  Speaker 1: And God said to Noah, The end of all flesh
• 1:49
  Speaker 1: has come before me.
• 1:51
  Speaker 1: For the earth is filled with violence because of them.
• 1:55
  Speaker 1: And behold, I am about to destroy them with the earth.

  Speaker 1: Make for yourself an ark of gopher wood. You shall
• 2:04
  Speaker 1: make the ark with rooms and shall cover it inside
• 2:07
  Speaker 1: and out with pitch, and this is how you shall
• 2:10
  Speaker 1: make it. And he describes its dimensions and how he
• 2:14
  Speaker 1: should make it. And he says in verse 17, Behold, I,
• 2:17
  Speaker 1: even I am bringing the flood of water upon the
• 2:20
  Speaker 1: earth to destroy all flesh in which is the breath
• 2:23
  Speaker 1: of life from under heaven.
• 2:25
  Speaker 1: Everything that is on the earth shall perish, but I
• 2:28
  Speaker 1: will establish my covenant with you, and you shall enter
• 2:33
  Speaker 1: the ark, you and your sons and your wife and
• 2:35
  Speaker 1: your sons' wives with you.
• 2:38
  Speaker 1: And he goes on from there.
• 2:41
  Speaker 1: You know, when God chooses to speak to us about
• 2:45
  Speaker 1: a specific task He has for us, we must be
• 2:49
  Speaker 1: ready to respond to Him.
• 2:51
  Speaker 1: You see, in this account that although the earth was
• 2:55
  Speaker 1: so wicked and God was bringing that judgement, God wanted
• 2:59
  Speaker 1: to protect His children.
• 3:02
  Speaker 1: The people of faith.
• 3:04
  Speaker 1: And God is always at work on our behalf when
• 3:09
  Speaker 1: we are living in healthy relationship with Him.
• 3:14
  Speaker 1: There's things that God wants us to be a part of,
• 3:17
  Speaker 1: things that He's doing in this world, and so He
• 3:20
  Speaker 1: gives us specific direction, and some of those tasks take
• 3:25
  Speaker 1: a lot more work and effort than other ones.
• 3:29
  Speaker 1: But you can rest assured that God knows what He
• 3:33
  Speaker 1: is doing in everything that He asks of you, even
• 3:37
  Speaker 1: when you can't see where it's going, where it'll take you.
• 3:40
  Speaker 1: God knows.
• 3:42
  Speaker 1: Do you know it had never rained on the earth
• 3:45
  Speaker 1: before this time.
• 3:47
  Speaker 1: Uh, a vapour used to come out at night and
• 3:50
  Speaker 1: would kind of permeate the ground and water it.
• 3:53
  Speaker 1: And yet God is calling Noah to build an ark.
• 3:58
  Speaker 1: The thing we have to remember is that following Christ
• 4:02
  Speaker 1: and what He wants of your life is always a
• 4:07
  Speaker 1: step of faith, no matter how great or how small
• 4:10
  Speaker 1: the task God has for you.
• 4:13
  Speaker 1: Faith is at the heart of your response to him.
• 4:17
  Speaker 1: I wonder in your life right now what is it
• 4:20
  Speaker 1: that God is asking you to do for Him.
• 4:24
  Speaker 1: If he's asking you to do it, it's something near
• 4:28
  Speaker 1: to his heart. He cares about it.
• 4:30
  Speaker 1: Why don't you go ahead and get busy with it today.
• 4:35
  Speaker 1: Show your faith to the world as you step out
• 4:38
  Speaker 1: and obey God.
• 4:41
