- 0:11Welcome to the Slippery Slope podcast.
- 0:13I'm Jay Fallon. I do apologise for my voice of
- 0:16being a little under the weather the last couple of days So today
- 0:20I want to talk about something that's happening on the other
- 0:22side of the world in New York City.
- 0:25The big, The big is that what they refer to as the Big Apple,
- 0:28NYC, New York City. The reason why I'm talking about
- 0:32it is because the same pattern, the same ideology and the same
- 0:36consequences are already taking shape here in Australia, in my
- 0:42humble opinion. So we've got a video that's been
- 0:45circulating and it's showing what's happening in NYC right
- 0:50now. Squatters are taking over
- 0:53buildings, stairwells are being blocked, families are afraid to
- 0:57walk out their own front door. And the government that not only
- 1:01refuses to stop it, but is actively creating the conditions
- 1:06for it. And if you think that can't
- 1:08happen here, well mate, it already is.
- 1:12It already is happening here. So let's check out.
- 1:14I'll tell you what's actually happening in New York.
- 1:17The government has it's banned evictions, crazy banned
- 1:21evictions even for people who break in and occupy private
- 1:27property. It's stopped policing what it
- 1:31called minor crimes like trespassing, shoplifting,
- 1:35vandalism. If you know anything, just in
- 1:38case you don't know anything about my podcast and who I am, I
- 1:41was formerly a police officer with the Queensland Police
- 1:44Service. And when I was doing general
- 1:45duties policing and when I first started, I remember I was
- 1:49working in one town, one place and I was out, you know, touring
- 1:54with an older a senior police officer.
- 1:57And he said what he liked to do was pull up.
- 2:00He would do traffic stops even for things that are minor and
- 2:05you know, minor, minor infringements, minor traffic
- 2:09infringements. And it's because he believed
- 2:12that if people felt like they could just drive around with,
- 2:16you know, busted lights and all this kind of thing, well, then
- 2:19they would just keep pushing the envelope all the time.
- 2:21That if you if you, if you pulled up people and let them
- 2:24know you didn't have to find them every time, but if you at
- 2:28least gave them a warning, spoke to them about it, well, then
- 2:30they at least knew this is where the bar was.
- 2:33You couldn't just come into town, drive into town, just, you
- 2:37know, drive whatever rubbish little vehicle you wanted.
- 2:40You couldn't do whatever you wanted.
- 2:41Police were out and they were monitoring, they were looking at
- 2:44what's going on. They weren't just sitting in the
- 2:47office, you know, head in the sand, not taking note of what
- 2:51was going on in their town. So I thought that really makes
- 2:54sense. You've got to look at the minor
- 2:56things. You can't just overlook minor
- 2:58incidents all the time. But this is what they're doing
- 3:01in New York. This is what's been happening in
- 3:02Australia too. And they've also raised taxes on
- 3:05the middle class in New York, despite promising to only tax
- 3:10the rich. And they've created a culture
- 3:13where lawlessness is tolerated. And the people who actually
- 3:17work, they actually pay rent and follow the rules, are the ones
- 3:21who are being punished. So the result is that always a
- 3:26turned into makeshift bedrooms. And who wants to live like that?
- 3:30Stairwells are blocked, a literal fire hazard, and
- 3:34families are terrified to leave their apartments.
- 3:37And police show up, move squatters on, and then the
- 3:41squatters come straight back and the government that just shrugs
- 3:45its shoulders. This isn't an accident.
- 3:47This is what happens when ideology replaces common sense.
- 3:53And I think this is what's starting to happen here in
- 3:56Australia. It's been slowly going on,
- 3:58creeping in. Let's look at the the ideology
- 4:02behind it. I suppose the NYC, New York City
- 4:04Mayor Mandani and his political allies openly identify as
- 4:10democratic socialists and their policies reflect that world
- 4:17view. Private property is immoral.
- 4:20If you listen to their speech, the way they talk, private
- 4:23property is looked at view that as being immoral.
- 4:26Landlords, landlords are, they're framed as exploiters.
- 4:31Business owners are the enemy anyway.
- 4:36Self sufficient people are a threat to the system and the
- 4:41solution to every problem is more government, more taxes and
- 4:47more control. And the key point that I wanted
- 4:50to talk about today, I think for this is when you demonise the
- 4:54people who build society, you eventually destroy society.
- 5:00And New York, in my opinion, is the living proof.
- 5:04We're seeing it all playing out before our eyes.
- 5:08So if you want to relate this back to Australia, which is what
- 5:13how I can, how I see it, let's look at this, Australia is not
- 5:19that far behind. We're seeing state governments
- 5:24normalising lawlessness, overlooking lawlessness in some
- 5:29parts, youth crime exploding, police told to deescalate, which
- 5:33I don't mind, please deescalating.
- 5:36But all too often, and this isn't the police fault, police
- 5:40officers fault offenders get released again and again, which
- 5:44is our system, which is their magistrates and their judges
- 5:48taking a softer look at crime, softer view, viewing people as
- 5:52victims rather than hey, these are the people that actually the
- 5:56perpetrators, These are the people that are actually
- 5:58committing the crimes. We've got property rights are
- 6:01being weakened here in Australia as well, from rental freezes to
- 6:05land use restrictions to temporary emergency, emergency
- 6:11powers, When said temporary, I mean temporary.
- 6:13That seemed to just go on and on.
- 6:15They just seems to never end. Sometimes we've got taxes
- 6:19creeping upward. I don't know if it's creeping
- 6:22upward. Taxes just seem to be in
- 6:24Australia just won't skyrocketing upward.
- 6:27Always just on the rich, but until suddenly the middle class,
- 6:32which I would classify myself as caught in the Nets, a political
- 6:36class which seems to be obsessed with ideology, but it's not
- 6:43obsessed with outcomes. They're just obsessed with
- 6:46ideology and catchphrases. But don't look at the outcomes
- 6:50that happen. Would they just have slogans?
- 6:53We've got this cultural shift that treats success as
- 6:58suspicious, if not does not encourage success at all.
- 7:03Our current government, and it does encourage dependence on
- 7:08governments and views it as virtuous.
- 7:11So just like New York, the people who follow the rules, the
- 7:15workers, the families, the taxpayers, they're the ones who
- 7:19are being squeezed. We are the ones who are being
- 7:21squeezed. Australia's walking the same
- 7:24path, but we seem to be just a few steps and a little bit to
- 7:28the left behind, you know, not quite, not quite there.
- 7:32So this, I don't think this is just political, this is also in
- 7:37my view moral, it's spiritual. This because remember, and I've
- 7:42said this numerous times, that's we, we have to end up in this
- 7:46position globally where we have this one world government, where
- 7:50we have this monetary system where the B system has complete
- 7:54control, complete control as what's described in Revelation.
- 7:59But the only way to have the Great Reset that they've been
- 8:03talking about for years is to completely destroy the system
- 8:07that's currently in place. So that's why I think this isn't
- 8:10just political, it's moral. It is spiritual when you think
- 8:14about when a society abandons truth and abandons truth,
- 8:19abandons order, abandons responsibility and it abandons
- 8:24accountability, people taking being accountable for their own
- 8:28actions. Chaos then fills that vacuum and
- 8:33you have lawlessness ruling and then people are politicians
- 8:36saying, hey, it's actually a good thing.
- 8:39You know, this isn't good, that maybe we used to view it that
- 8:41way. It's which reminds me of the
- 8:44verse which I've also talked about numerous times, Isaiah
- 8:48520. It warns us that, you know,
- 8:50those are those who call evil good and good evil.
- 8:53That's exactly what we're seeing.
- 8:56I believe criminal behaviour is excused.
- 9:00Law abiding citizens get punished.
- 9:04You know, it's no longer good to to have a vision to own property
- 9:08that to succeed, that kind of thing that's viewed now, it's
- 9:12it's talked about as if, no, that's not something you should
- 9:14aspire to. Law abiding citizens get
- 9:17punished and government keeps expanding while families
- 9:22struggle and dependency is encouraged, while responsibility
- 9:28is mocked, dependency on God. Because again, like what I've
- 9:31said numerous times is the government has been trying to
- 9:35replace God in our society, replace God with themselves.
- 9:39This is what happens when a culture rejects God, worships
- 9:44the created rather than the creator, and and rejects God's
- 9:49design for justice, God's design for stewardship and personal
- 9:55responsibility. I personally believe that if you
- 10:00are really a Bible believing Christian, you would have to be
- 10:05a capitalist. You have to believe in the, I
- 10:10suppose, follow a capitalism. Capitalism.
- 10:13You couldn't be a socialist because capitalism encourages
- 10:18people to work for themselves, encourages people to work and
- 10:22take responsibility for their own actions.
- 10:25Whereas socialist ideology encourages this dependence on
- 10:30government and relying on others to support you, you know.
- 10:35So why I think this matters for Australia.
- 10:38As you can see, New York hasn't been collapsing.
- 10:42It didn't collapse overnight, but it did it slowly.
- 10:46It's going down this going down this slippery slope.
- 10:48And Australia is on that slope right now.
- 10:51We've been normalising disorder. We've been, we, we punish
- 10:55productivity. We we've got this expanding
- 10:58government power, we're undermining property rights.
- 11:01We're teaching generations that the system is the enemy and
- 11:06government is the saviour. And we, we have parents that
- 11:11don't teach their children to work, don't encourage their
- 11:16children to work. And they don't set an example to
- 11:19work. They don't set an, an example to
- 11:23aspire for greatness and aspire to, for greatness through hard
- 11:28work and actually saying, hey, well, you do have to actually
- 11:32work hard. You're not just going to be
- 11:33given all these things. And that's why I say you've got
- 11:37these. We're teaching generations that
- 11:39the system is the enemy and everyone, you know, no one else,
- 11:43everyone else is to blame. It's not because you have done
- 11:47anything wrong and they and they put themselves, the government
- 11:50as the saviour, the government's the one that can support you and
- 11:53everything and not teaching that you have to work, you have to
- 11:57labour. And once you reach this certain
- 12:00point, it's very hard to climb back.
- 12:03So New York may already be past that point, may not, not
- 12:09convinced, but it may already be past that point.
- 12:11But Australia doesn't have to be.
- 12:13We need to, we need to, we should speak the truth even when
- 12:19it's unpopular, even when the government turns around and say,
- 12:23hey, you have to take this needle because you have to do
- 12:26this. Speak the truth.
- 12:28Stand up for your rights, stand up for your human rights.
- 12:31The government likes to say they stand for human rights, but
- 12:35every time it gets a little bit hard, it doesn't fit their
- 12:38narrative, doesn't fit what they want to do.
- 12:40Human rights always go at the door with the government.
- 12:43We need to defend property rights and the rule of law.
- 12:47Don't take law into your own hands, but we need to defend the
- 12:50rule of law. We need to push back against
- 12:53policies that reward dependency and and punish responsibility.
- 13:01At the at the moment we have a government, we have state
- 13:03governments that are punishing farm land owners, land holders,
- 13:09farmers for standing up for their own rights and for their
- 13:12own property rights. We need to teach our children
- 13:15the value of work, the value of family, the value of faith and
- 13:21freedom. And we need to hold leaders.
- 13:24I've been saying this for years, hold leaders accountable, not
- 13:30for their slogans, because they all come up with these Pretty
- 13:33Little slogans, but we need to hold them accountable for their
- 13:37results. And above all, we need to return
- 13:40to the foundations that made Western nations strong in the
- 13:451st place. And what made Western nations
- 13:48strong? A biblical principles, personal
- 13:51taking personal responsibility and having moral clarity.
- 13:57Not all this ambiguity not you know you can be whatever you
- 14:02want to be, even if it's a cat no.
- 14:05So New York is a warning and Australia should pay attention
- 14:10because once you let, once you let ideology override reality
- 14:17and once you let lawlessness become normal and once you let
- 14:21government grow beyond its purpose, big government,
- 14:26Australia loves big government. You don't get your society back
- 14:31easily. As always, look, this is this is
- 14:35just my opinion. If you want to support me,
- 14:38please check out my music on Spotify, iTunes, all that good
- 14:41stuff and please give me a like and a share and a hype if that's
- 14:46OK for YouTube. Like I said, this is all just my
- 14:50opinion. I'm still Jay Fallon and thanks
- 14:53for listening to the Slippery Slope podcast.
- 14:56They just feel the.
