- 0:00Speaker 1: He goes, how are you Benny Whiskey here from the
- 0:02Speaker 1: Final Fall. We've got a new single coming out. I'm
- 0:05Speaker 1: on my way and you ever start to release this
- 0:10Speaker 1: because it's just before our big show with the boys, So.
- 0:14Speaker 2: Yeah, have a listen and come out Friday and have
- 0:17Speaker 2: a dance.
- 0:19Speaker 3: No, Benny, I might come out Friday. But there's fun
- 0:21Speaker 3: all dancing getting me up to dance.
- 0:24Speaker 1: Well, I say dance because there's many different types of dancing.
- 0:29Speaker 1: There's more seeing, there's hardcore, there's fucking circle pits, there's
- 0:33Speaker 1: mate what everyone do tangos if you want, as.
- 0:39Speaker 3: You say, for the Final four release on my way
- 0:42Speaker 3: for this week. So how are you feeling about it?
- 0:45Speaker 2: Pumps? Mate? Where pumps we?
- 0:48Speaker 1: I was just looking through our history of releases and yeah,
- 0:53Speaker 1: we actually didn't release anything last year because we're just
- 0:55Speaker 1: too busy writing. But yeah, it couldn't be more happy.
- 1:00Speaker 1: In the sound from Scotty Love Street Studios, Scotty French
- 1:05Speaker 1: and Paul Pilsnick Pilsy with.
- 1:07Speaker 2: The mastering Mate, we're staked on the sound.
- 1:10Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:11Speaker 2: So the last time.
- 1:12Speaker 3: Heavy spoke to you was in May four when you
- 1:15Speaker 3: release his song Sold. So yeah, it's just the first
- 1:18Speaker 3: release since then.
- 1:20Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, because we're finally.
- 1:24Speaker 1: Doing an album. Man, it's it's been a long time.
- 1:28Speaker 1: I think, jeez, we haven't released an album for probably
- 1:32Speaker 1: at least ten years. So yeah, it's just been been
- 1:35Speaker 1: a lot of shows and we've cut back on shows
- 1:37Speaker 1: now and we just wanted to focus on getting an
- 1:39Speaker 1: album out there and getting more home.
- 1:41Speaker 2: Was just it just meant meant to be.
- 1:43Speaker 1: So we're just like, let's let's get our arsen again
- 1:46Speaker 1: and get an album happening. So yeah, this is just
- 1:48Speaker 1: a single off the album, the album that we come
- 1:50Speaker 1: and hopefully midyear, which is good.
- 1:54Speaker 3: Very sweet. So we'll focus on the single for a
- 1:56Speaker 3: second as we say. It's called I'm on my way.
- 2:00Speaker 3: Have a song musically in what you were going for
- 2:02Speaker 3: with this particular one.
- 2:03Speaker 2: Oh, actually, I've better fix that up. I'm on my way.
- 2:08Speaker 2: That's my bad. I always yeah, I say it in
- 2:10Speaker 2: the song, but then I still don't remember what has Actually.
- 2:14Speaker 1: We'll get there, yeah, so yeah, basically, yeah, I'm on
- 2:18Speaker 1: my way.
- 2:18Speaker 2: It's just just.
- 2:20Speaker 1: Getting out of your norm, getting out of the grind
- 2:22Speaker 1: pit and traveling, go and see the world. I've done
- 2:26Speaker 1: a fair bit, but Paulie. Wow, that guy travels.
- 2:30Speaker 2: It seems to be every month he's going somewhere.
- 2:33Speaker 1: So there's a lot of a lot of funny stories
- 2:35Speaker 1: and good times in this song. They're just going out
- 2:39Speaker 1: to see the world and instead of wasting away in
- 2:41Speaker 1: your house, you know, just having a good time.
- 2:45Speaker 3: My first thought when I hit playmate was that you
- 2:48Speaker 3: guys still haven't land to color within the lines.
- 2:53Speaker 2: No, no, we never do.
- 2:54Speaker 1: We're just too many influencers because we always say we're
- 2:59Speaker 1: a punk bean with a metal because that's what we are.
- 3:01Speaker 2: Clinch's just an awesome heavy metal drummer and I love.
- 3:05Speaker 1: Me hardcore and metal too, So it just, especially when
- 3:09Speaker 1: you're at the end of that song, is a pretty
- 3:10Speaker 1: nice breakdown there. So we're pushing once again, pushing all
- 3:13Speaker 1: the boundaries.
- 3:16Speaker 3: And there's actually some some catchy hooks and some vocal
- 3:19Speaker 3: melodies in there, which, if I'm not mistaken, it's not
- 3:22Speaker 3: really standard for the final four.
- 3:24Speaker 2: Yeah mate, we.
- 3:29Speaker 1: Get old, you discovered you discover different things in your voice,
- 3:33Speaker 1: and yeah, yeah pretty stoked. I turned out and Clint
- 3:37Speaker 1: and Paulie again stepped up with the backups, and yeah,
- 3:40Speaker 1: I mean it's heavy, but there's definitely some nice melodic
- 3:42Speaker 1: parts in there.
- 3:45Speaker 3: And it's only releasing digitally for now, is that correct?
- 3:49Speaker 3: But there could be a music video down the track.
- 3:51Speaker 2: Definitely a music video coming.
- 3:52Speaker 1: Yeah, we just plan to do this big thing and
- 3:56Speaker 1: that kind of fell through, so it'll be coming very
- 4:01Speaker 1: And also, that's what I wanted to say before, not
- 4:05Speaker 1: only we're doing an album, we're going to do our
- 4:07Speaker 1: first vinyl. So this is going to be released on
- 4:10Speaker 1: a vinyl, which is fucking awesome because I've been wanting
- 4:12Speaker 1: one of our my own vinyl for years.
- 4:14Speaker 2: So we're pumped on this.
- 4:16Speaker 3: Yeah, the song was being premiered by a Heavy on
- 4:20Speaker 3: Tuesday the seventh, threeut the tenth much. When'd you official
- 4:24Speaker 3: release date?
- 4:26Speaker 1: Probably then too, tomorrow, Yeah, tomorrow Wednesdays sometimes they take
- 4:31Speaker 1: a bit longer, but yeah, it'll definitely be definitely tomorrow
- 4:34Speaker 1: and Wednesday morning for sure.
- 4:36Speaker 3: I love the single cover too, like it's got the
- 4:39Speaker 3: band aboard a jumbo jet, like you're sitting on the
- 4:41Speaker 3: outside ready to rocking passports. We're all there, ready to go.
- 4:45Speaker 1: Yeah, that's that's a little that was me actually, I
- 4:49Speaker 1: just I just had the idea after seeing I'm sure
- 4:52Speaker 1: you've seen it the Iron Maiden Jet. That thing's ridiculous,
- 4:55Speaker 1: and I was, I could be funny if you just
- 4:57Speaker 1: have our own. You know, we're not as popular as
- 5:02Speaker 1: Michael Jackson and Iron Maiden, but you know, it's it's
- 5:05Speaker 1: good to have a bit of fun definitely.
- 5:08Speaker 3: Now you mentioned that I'm on the Way is part
- 5:11Speaker 3: of a bigger album picture, so tell us a bit
- 5:13Speaker 3: about that. Like I said, it's been over ten years
- 5:15Speaker 3: in the makings, so there's gonna be.
- 5:17Speaker 1: Yeah, and you know, there's a lot of there's probably
- 5:19Speaker 1: even a riff and on on my Way that's it
- 5:22Speaker 1: was written ten years ago, and it's just funny how
- 5:24Speaker 1: they all just come back when you start jamming, and yeah,
- 5:27Speaker 1: we've got I think it'll be ten ten or eleven songs,
- 5:31Speaker 1: I think, but heaps and new stuff that's just kind
- 5:35Speaker 1: of a taste and there's yeah, there's a heap of
- 5:39Speaker 1: different songs.
- 5:40Speaker 2: So it's going to be callded to hear it when
- 5:42Speaker 2: it's all together.
- 5:45Speaker 3: Like anybod who knows you guys know that you blend
- 5:47Speaker 3: like your metal and your hardcore and you're punk. There's
- 5:49Speaker 3: a lot of influences going on in there.
- 5:50Speaker 2: So yeah, that's the album.
- 5:52Speaker 3: Now you've got a whole album to work with, Like,
- 5:54Speaker 3: are you still keeping all those genres within each song
- 5:56Speaker 3: where you're sort of concentrating some of them are gonna
- 5:59Speaker 3: be just hardcore, someone be just punk.
- 6:02Speaker 2: Ah, it's time for us to do that. We kind
- 6:06Speaker 2: of just like this one.
- 6:07Speaker 1: We're like, let's you know, right up, just a straight
- 6:09Speaker 1: up you know it kind of fast punks some right,
- 6:12Speaker 1: and then all of a sudden there's a breakdown and
- 6:13Speaker 1: then there's double kicks blast. So we just I don't know,
- 6:18Speaker 1: we just put all our bits together and just work
- 6:21Speaker 1: through it basically.
- 6:22Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, never know what's coming.
- 6:25Speaker 3: Like vocal melody as you're hearing I on my Way,
- 6:27Speaker 3: is that going to be staple of the album tour?
- 6:29Speaker 3: Is that just a bit of it?
- 6:30Speaker 2: Yeah, man, Yeah for sure. Yeah.
- 6:32Speaker 1: I've tapped into a yeah, vocal range I didn't know
- 6:35Speaker 1: I had because I just screaming all the time. So
- 6:39Speaker 1: it's kind of nice to not have to scream my
- 6:42Speaker 1: lungs out every song, just to you know, hit a
- 6:44Speaker 1: melody and go with it.
- 6:46Speaker 3: That been fans of the band for a while. Let's
- 6:50Speaker 3: say it's been over ten years since the last album
- 6:52Speaker 3: came out. So how's this one going to differ sonically
- 6:55Speaker 3: from that one? Is it just like a more mature
- 6:57Speaker 3: sound after ten years or he's still just.
- 7:00Speaker 1: Kids both mate, They're all big kids, that's for sure,
- 7:04Speaker 1: still surfing skat every day, but I still have gone
- 7:08Speaker 1: times out too.
- 7:09Speaker 2: But yeah, yeah, I guess. Yeah, the music's.
- 7:13Speaker 1: Definitely matured and it's uh just a sound quality on
- 7:18Speaker 1: this recording is absolutely the best we've ever had.
- 7:22Speaker 2: So that helps so much.
- 7:23Speaker 1: Because just yeah, it just brings all our bits together
- 7:27Speaker 1: and yeah, without that sort of sound quality of the
- 7:30Speaker 1: older ones, you know, yeah, it just doesn't compare to
- 7:34Speaker 1: this what this album is going to be.
- 7:36Speaker 3: Yeah cool. Now, I know you've been dying to talk
- 7:38Speaker 3: about this for Hyle mad because you've even got the
- 7:40Speaker 3: hat on to prove it. But you've got to deeed
- 7:42Speaker 3: coming up with the crowbar this Briday night, which ye
- 7:47Speaker 3: Friday thirty. How appropriate with totally unicorn flanger panties and
- 7:51Speaker 3: a small up and coming band called O will Helm Scream.
- 7:55Speaker 1: Yeah mate, yeah mate, Like I said, it's just that's
- 8:00Speaker 1: timing was absolutely impeccable. Just we had a gem and
- 8:03Speaker 1: the boys we're talking about recording Bang got a.
- 8:07Speaker 2: Call literally that night, and yeah, got the call.
- 8:10Speaker 1: Up for Will Harm and a massive shout out to Mish,
- 8:14Speaker 1: Evil Eye Touring and Blood Sweat and Beers.
- 8:17Speaker 2: Thanks for having us, guys, I appreciate it. And also
- 8:21Speaker 2: the Crova.
- 8:21Speaker 1: I haven't even been there since it wasn't the Zoo,
- 8:24Speaker 1: so it's pretty exciting stuff for Friday.
- 8:28Speaker 3: You're underselling a bit too, mate, Like if you read
- 8:30Speaker 3: through your Facebook page, it's not just any geeks for you,
- 8:32Speaker 3: like you're actually you're going to be up there fanboy this.
- 8:36Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, because if if you listen to us, then
- 8:39Speaker 1: you don't know Will Harm And then you listen, you go, oh,
- 8:42Speaker 1: you kind of get it because you know we all
- 8:44Speaker 1: have strung out and the Canadian Kings obviously propagandy, but
- 8:51Speaker 1: Will Harm Mate, ever since we heard the first album,
- 8:53Speaker 1: it's just the stuff Will Riding well, like that just
- 8:56Speaker 1: went in the bin.
- 8:59Speaker 2: Go we need in practice more. This is what we
- 9:01Speaker 2: want to do and this is what we've been on
- 9:03Speaker 2: there for the last I thought it was ten years,
- 9:06Speaker 2: it's actually like fifteen, possibly even twenty years.
- 9:09Speaker 1: Were because my space doesn't work. We're just guessing when
- 9:16Speaker 1: we got together, but it was roughly two thousand and six,
- 9:19Speaker 1: I reckon and seven. So it's a big thing for us, Mate,
- 9:23Speaker 1: could be twenty years this year, We don't know.
- 9:25Speaker 2: Can someone tell.
- 9:26Speaker 3: Us, yes, well you just gave it away, Like you're
- 9:32Speaker 3: a season musician, you've been around for at least twenty years.
- 9:35Speaker 2: Bro.
- 9:35Speaker 3: Like when you get to support a band like will
- 9:37Speaker 3: Elm Scream, that is such a big influence on you're like,
- 9:40Speaker 3: do you still go back to regressing that kid in
- 9:43Speaker 3: a candy store that was to try and keep me
- 9:46Speaker 3: shitting together a bit?
- 9:47Speaker 1: And you know, look, I'll I'll be calm and collective
- 9:51Speaker 1: and on the inside I'll be mate going insane, but
- 9:56Speaker 1: hopefully we're going to meet the boys and have a
- 9:58Speaker 1: be here. They seem like they' and so yeah, it's
- 10:02Speaker 1: just a it's literally, you know, a massive tick for
- 10:06Speaker 1: the band because you know, there's been some times where
- 10:09Speaker 1: like should we keep going?
- 10:10Speaker 2: And yeah, this is just that was a.
- 10:13Speaker 1: Sign to go, yep, bugger it never too old, mate,
- 10:16Speaker 1: keep playing.
- 10:18Speaker 2: I spread those lines.
- 10:20Speaker 3: You aren't what you'd call a full time active band
- 10:24Speaker 3: per se, So how do you find in the motivation
- 10:26Speaker 3: to keep going? Like it's sort of is it difficult?
- 10:29Speaker 3: Or is it just the planet's line now all of
- 10:32Speaker 3: a sudden.
- 10:32Speaker 1: Now, yeah, because yeah, you know you would know how
- 10:36Speaker 1: it is, especially the goal cast because there's not many
- 10:38Speaker 1: venues and that's just another reason why.
- 10:42Speaker 2: We don't play as much because we used to play
- 10:44Speaker 2: all the time. But yeah, there's there a.
- 10:47Speaker 1: Couple left on the goalie unfortunately, so and being a
- 10:50Speaker 1: self managed band, I've pretty much done that the whole time.
- 10:53Speaker 2: So I'm a busy band doing that.
- 10:57Speaker 1: Yeah, it's just kind of again stoved and just honored
- 11:01Speaker 1: to be playing with these boys because that's kind of
- 11:03Speaker 1: been the goal from the beginning. We've still got a
- 11:07Speaker 1: couple left on our on the list, on the dream
- 11:09Speaker 1: list there, so we'll.
- 11:10Speaker 2: See, you know, strong air propaganda, Yeah, just put them
- 11:13Speaker 2: in there.
- 11:15Speaker 3: What what do you guys got planning for the rest
- 11:17Speaker 3: of twenty twenty six moving into twenty seven and just the.
- 11:20Speaker 2: Album is the album mate? Yeah, we really want to
- 11:22Speaker 2: push that.
- 11:25Speaker 1: We'll probably definitely work out if it's been twenty years
- 11:29Speaker 1: and and do a big show. We want to do that,
- 11:31Speaker 1: so we'll do one of the Goldie and Brisbane hopefully
- 11:34Speaker 1: maybe Sunny Coz.
- 11:35Speaker 2: But then again, so bar just closed, so yeah, there
- 11:41Speaker 2: is good place. Yeah, yeah, there is still a couple.
- 11:43Speaker 1: So that's the plan, mate, Yeah, to do just a
- 11:47Speaker 1: couple of big shows, hopefully the end of the year,
- 11:49Speaker 1: and just really want to do this album and then
- 11:52Speaker 1: we're gonna have to tour again because you get an album,
- 11:54Speaker 1: that's what you do. So we're gonna we're gonna knuckle
- 11:57Speaker 1: down and probably I would say probably towards the start
- 12:00Speaker 1: next year, look at look at doing something like that.
- 12:03Speaker 3: Fantastic. But in the meantime, the new single I'm on
- 12:06Speaker 3: My Way, which is the first one in nearly two years,
- 12:10Speaker 3: is how This Tuesday. She's a cracker made every time
- 12:13Speaker 3: you send me and so I have to listen to
- 12:14Speaker 3: it and howd of blows me away And this one
- 12:16Speaker 3: is no exception
- 12:17Speaker 1: Bro, So best luck with it and hopefully yes sweet,
- 12:21Speaker 1: that's cheers, Chris
