- 1:03SPEAKER_13: Yeah, I caught bits and pieces from I was just.
- 1:06SPEAKER_11: Yeah, the Niners lost.
- 1:07SPEAKER_13: Yeah.
- 1:08SPEAKER_11: Which was a bummer.
- 1:10SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 1:10SPEAKER_11: But they lost hard.
- 1:11SPEAKER_11: Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 1:12SPEAKER_11: Yeah, that was.
- 1:13SPEAKER_11: They went down.
- 1:14SPEAKER_11: They did.
- 1:14SPEAKER_11: They did.
- 1:14SPEAKER_11: They did.
- 1:17SPEAKER_11: And yeah, but you know, Seahawks are.
- 1:20SPEAKER_11: I I don't know.
- 1:21SPEAKER_11: I think they're going to make it to the Super Bowl.
- 1:24SPEAKER_11: You don't think so?
- 1:25SPEAKER_11: It's hard to do.
- 1:26SPEAKER_11: That defense was just unbelievable.
- 1:28SPEAKER_13: Well, I mean, they're not the you know the legion of doom that they used to be, but they're they're they're pretty good.
- 1:33SPEAKER_11: Yeah, I don't you know.
- 1:34SPEAKER_11: Uh so who do you think is gonna be in?
- 1:36SPEAKER_11: So we have uh we have Seattle.
- 1:38SPEAKER_11: Um we have uh Chicago pulled it out, didn't they?
- 1:42SPEAKER_11: Yeah, they they won, yeah.
- 1:43SPEAKER_11: Did they?
- 1:44SPEAKER_11: I think they did.
- 1:44SPEAKER_11: I can't remember.
- 1:45SPEAKER_11: Yeah, they did.
- 1:45SPEAKER_13: It's not coming to me, right?
- 1:46SPEAKER_11: Pretty soon.
- 1:47SPEAKER_11: Pretty sure.
- 1:48SPEAKER_11: Um the Pats and the Broncos.
- 1:50SPEAKER_11: And the Broncos.
- 1:51SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 1:52SPEAKER_11: Uh that's it.
- 1:53SPEAKER_11: That's it.
- 1:53SPEAKER_13: So you got AFC and NFC champions this this weekend.
- 1:56SPEAKER_11: So I uh I think the Pats and the Seahawks are going in.
- 1:59SPEAKER_11: Super Bowl.
- 2:00SPEAKER_13: Well, that'd be that would be nice, and maybe the because they'd probably be looking for revenge from that uh I'm gonna pass the ball on the two-yard line.
- 2:08SPEAKER_13: I got Marchon Lynch.
- 2:10SPEAKER_13: Uh yeah, you just you're okay.
- 2:12SPEAKER_13: Yeah, I don't need you for this play.
- 2:14SPEAKER_13: I'm gonna throw it.
- 2:14SPEAKER_13: Oh, it got intercepted.
- 2:16SPEAKER_13: How did this happen?
- 2:18SPEAKER_11: Who could have foreseen this?
- 2:21SPEAKER_11: How long ago was that?
- 2:22SPEAKER_11: That was like seven, eight years ago?
- 2:24SPEAKER_11: That was Super Bowl.
- 2:25SPEAKER_11: Is that 16?
- 2:27SPEAKER_13: Maybe it was longer than something like that.
- 2:29SPEAKER_11: I don't remember, but yeah, I mean it was.
- 2:32SPEAKER_13: I think everybody was just like, why?
- 2:35SPEAKER_13: Yeah, right, what are you doing?
- 2:36SPEAKER_11: What?
- 2:36SPEAKER_11: Because they're gonna expect Marshawn Lynch, so let's give them the unexpected.
- 2:40SPEAKER_13: Oh, yeah.
- 2:40SPEAKER_13: Oh, that worked out well.
- 2:42SPEAKER_13: And there's Butler.
- 2:44SPEAKER_13: Right.
- 2:46SPEAKER_13: You know that I know that you know that you're gonna do that.
- 2:51SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 2:51SPEAKER_11: But then, you know, um But anything can happen.
- 2:55SPEAKER_11: And I understand it's his business too, but uh Buffalo Bills filed fired their coach.
- 3:01SPEAKER_11: Yeah, you know, and then John Harbaugh got fired from the Ravens.
- 3:05SPEAKER_11: I expected that, I guess.
- 3:08SPEAKER_11: I didn't because it's Harbaugh.
- 3:09SPEAKER_11: He's been I guess I didn't expect that.
- 3:11SPEAKER_11: I also no, you know what?
- 3:12SPEAKER_11: That caught me by surprise, and the Buffalo Bills uh coach I didn't expect the Buffalo Bills coach to get fired.
- 3:18SPEAKER_13: I didn't that that blows my mind.
- 3:20SPEAKER_11: Yeah, because I think there's something else going on.
- 3:22SPEAKER_11: He built something up pretty good there.
- 3:24SPEAKER_13: They they've been pretty good the last three, four years.
- 3:26SPEAKER_13: Yep.
- 3:26SPEAKER_13: So I mean, you know, why would you Yeah I don't know.
- 3:29SPEAKER_11: Yeah, but and uh all kinds of firings, as if it's the coach's fault, you know.
- 3:34SPEAKER_11: But that but that's that's there's a fall guy far for the course.
- 3:38SPEAKER_11: Yeah, it is.
- 3:39SPEAKER_13: Especially around playoffs.
- 3:40SPEAKER_13: Once you get out of the playoffs, oh we lost playoffs.
- 3:43SPEAKER_13: All right, fire the coach.
- 3:44SPEAKER_11: But did you hear uh um uh I can't remember the coach's name.
- 3:49SPEAKER_11: Coach just got hired.
- 3:51SPEAKER_11: Uh can't even remember the team.
- 3:54SPEAKER_11: Titans?
- 3:55SPEAKER_11: No, not the Titans.
- 3:56SPEAKER_11: No, it wouldn't be the Titans.
- 3:58SPEAKER_11: Anyway, uh I can't remember the team, but they just hired a coach, well-known coach, can't remember his name.
- 4:04SPEAKER_11: Obviously not well known to me.
- 4:06SPEAKER_11: Um but he let's see if I can get this right.
- 4:10SPEAKER_11: His contract is for five years.
- 4:13SPEAKER_11: He is going to make uh shoot.
- 4:19SPEAKER_11: I brought this up, now I can't finish it.
- 4:21SPEAKER_11: He's gonna make uh hundred thousand dollars a day.
- 4:29SPEAKER_11: Something like that.
- 4:30SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 4:31SPEAKER_11: Until until 2030.
- 4:33SPEAKER_11: $100,000 a day.
- 4:35SPEAKER_13: That's good work if you can get it.
- 4:37SPEAKER_11: Yeah, my word.
- 4:38SPEAKER_11: That's just, you know.
- 4:40SPEAKER_11: That's it's kind of criminal, really.
- 4:42SPEAKER_13: But if you think about it, I mean if everybody could do it, they would not get paid that much.
- 4:50SPEAKER_13: You know, if you and I could make a catch like uh what's his face did?
- 4:53SPEAKER_13: Yeah.
- 4:53SPEAKER_13: K Sean uh the coach.
- 4:55SPEAKER_13: No, no, no, but I'm uh but uh you know I'm in the broader broader spectrum here.
- 5:00SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 5:00SPEAKER_13: You know, if you and I could make catches like that, then they wouldn't get paid anywhere near the kind of money.
- 5:07SPEAKER_13: But because they're at this level, they can go, oh god, wow, you want to come see this guy do this?
- 5:14SPEAKER_13: Well, you're gonna pay this much.
- 5:16SPEAKER_11: But then it's also, you know, I mean, there's there's uh it's the economics of scarce merchandise and all that stuff, too.
- 5:22SPEAKER_13: You know, I mean they're gonna I mean that's why all these teams are billion-dollar industries.
- 5:25SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 5:26SPEAKER_13: You know what I mean?
- 5:26SPEAKER_13: Pats are what?
- 5:27SPEAKER_13: Almost two billion dollars worth two billion two billion dollars?
- 5:30SPEAKER_13: I don't know.
- 5:31SPEAKER_13: Something like that.
- 5:31SPEAKER_13: It's crazy.
- 5:32SPEAKER_11: It blows me away.
- 5:33SPEAKER_13: I think I think the I think the Cowboys are close to four.
- 5:37SPEAKER_13: You know what I mean?
- 5:38SPEAKER_11: Yeah, it blows me away.
- 5:39SPEAKER_11: So um I gotta show you a couple things because I think they're hilarious.
- 5:45SPEAKER_11: I think I still have them.
- 5:46SPEAKER_11: Um I don't use AI.
- 5:48SPEAKER_11: I was just so when you came in, I said uh this AI thing is getting out of control, and I showed you a video was pretty funny.
- 5:54SPEAKER_11: Sometimes it's funny, sometimes it's downright scary, and it's just you know stupid.
- 5:59SPEAKER_11: And um, but and I've I don't I've never really used AI.
- 6:04SPEAKER_11: But I was like, because you and I have to t take some more publicity photos.
- 6:09SPEAKER_14: Right.
- 6:10SPEAKER_11: And here's why.
- 6:12SPEAKER_11: Because I wanted to make a flyer for our upcoming acoustic gig.
- 6:18SPEAKER_11: Um and so oh, did it not save?
- 6:24unknown: Dang it.
- 6:26SPEAKER_11: I used Chat GPT.
- 6:28SPEAKER_11: Oh and uh let's see.
- 6:34SPEAKER_11: Well, I could do it again, I guess.
- 6:36SPEAKER_11: Um I wonder if I saved it any.
- 6:39SPEAKER_11: So I said I I said I wanted um to make me a flyer uh using this picture, and I put a picture of you and I in there for our gig.
- 6:52SPEAKER_11: And you know, with the information and everything.
- 6:54SPEAKER_11: You saw the one that I eventually used.
- 6:57SPEAKER_11: Because you shared it.
- 6:58SPEAKER_13: No, the guitar and the guitar.
- 7:00SPEAKER_13: I like I like I like that picture.
- 7:01SPEAKER_13: It's kind of neat, right?
- 7:02SPEAKER_13: It is you know, it's like, hey, Brian's a guitar and I'm a box.
- 7:07SPEAKER_11: Well, actually, actually, I want to show you I want to show you uh Man, I can't wait to see that box and guitar.
- 7:14SPEAKER_11: Uh let's see.
- 7:15SPEAKER_11: Make a promotional promotional flyer for an acoustic act.
- 7:28SPEAKER_11: I was putting in the same thing I'd put in.
- 7:30SPEAKER_11: Acoustic act uh using this picture.
- 7:37SPEAKER_11: Hopefully I still have the picture.
- 7:39SPEAKER_11: So I'm gonna uh do that, and then I'm going to go to photos, and I'm gonna Okay, yeah, this is the one I used.
- 7:49SPEAKER_11: Uh there we go.
- 7:53SPEAKER_11: Okay, uh and it made this picture.
- 7:56SPEAKER_11: I don't know if it's gonna look the same as it did before.
- 8:00SPEAKER_11: The it didn't really look like me.
- 8:02SPEAKER_11: Uh I mean it kind of did.
- 8:04SPEAKER_11: The head was shaped really oddly.
- 8:06SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 8:07SPEAKER_11: And the guy So that's pretty close to life.
- 8:12SPEAKER_11: And the guy Dugging Weird Shape Head Guy.
- 8:15SPEAKER_11: The guy looked the other guy looked like you sort of, but like when you kind of zoom in it on your face, looks nothing like you.
- 8:25SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 8:26SPEAKER_11: Um but I thought and and and they gave us both acoustic guitars.
- 8:31SPEAKER_13: Oh, okay.
- 8:31SPEAKER_11: Well, so I was like, I said acoustic act, so they're but the the picture I used was this one from our from the O'Brien and Doug Facebook page.
- 8:40SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 8:41SPEAKER_11: So it's it's creating uh an image right now.
- 8:43SPEAKER_13: Oh, it's still working on it.
- 8:44SPEAKER_13: Oh wow.
- 8:45SPEAKER_13: It just used the image.
- 8:49unknown: Oh.
- 8:49SPEAKER_13: So it didn't change it at all?
- 8:51SPEAKER_11: It didn't change it at all.
- 8:52SPEAKER_11: That's it just used it just used the image.
- 8:54SPEAKER_11: Well, that was easy.
- 8:56SPEAKER_11: Um first Saint Duo Music.com.
- 9:07SPEAKER_11: I just made stuff up, I guess.
- 9:10SPEAKER_11: I don't know.
- 9:11SPEAKER_11: Um anyway, I'll have to show I'll have to do it again and show it to you.
- 9:15SPEAKER_11: But it was quite comical.
- 9:17SPEAKER_11: It was like that looks just like Doug and I.
- 9:21SPEAKER_11: But nothing like Doug and I.
- 9:26SPEAKER_11: Yeah, it was it was strange.
- 9:28SPEAKER_11: Anyway, but I did make that one flyer.
- 9:30SPEAKER_11: Uh first first I made one, I think I did save one of them because uh this is not the one that I'm talking about, but I did save this.
- 9:40SPEAKER_11: Um I'll see if you can zoom in on that one.
- 9:50SPEAKER_11: That looks nothing like us.
- 9:52SPEAKER_11: No, it doesn't.
- 9:53SPEAKER_11: Um so I I using You know who we look like?
- 9:56SPEAKER_11: Wayne Neto.
- 9:57SPEAKER_11: A little bit, yeah.
- 9:58SPEAKER_13: We both look like uh it's like Wayne and other Wayne.
- 10:01SPEAKER_13: I can see that.
- 10:01SPEAKER_11: Yeah, yeah.
- 10:02SPEAKER_11: Um yeah, because they are the same person, right?
- 10:05SPEAKER_11: They're virtually the same person.
- 10:06SPEAKER_13: Virtually this the guy on the left looks a little bit different.
- 10:09SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 10:10SPEAKER_11: But uh yeah, they so so it sent me that, it made me that, and I was like, uh make the other guy um uh make the make the other guy playing a cajon.
- 10:22SPEAKER_11: Actually, first I said canon because it because spell check.
- 10:26SPEAKER_11: Make the other guy playing a canon.
- 10:27SPEAKER_13: Hey, what do you play?
- 10:28SPEAKER_13: The gun.
- 10:30SPEAKER_11: And then I put in cajon, not canon.
- 10:32SPEAKER_11: And then so it gave me the same guy playing the cajon.
- 10:37SPEAKER_11: Really?
- 10:38SPEAKER_11: But I I had put in our pictures, so I don't know why it gave me this guy.
- 10:42SPEAKER_11: So anyway, I just said just a guitar and a cajon.
- 10:46SPEAKER_11: And that's what that's what I ended up with was what I what I posted on Facebook.
- 10:50SPEAKER_13: Well, it came out, it came out good.
- 10:52SPEAKER_13: I like it, yeah.
- 10:52SPEAKER_11: It was fine, yeah.
- 10:54SPEAKER_11: Um so yeah.
- 10:56SPEAKER_11: Uh I I I don't like that, but it did make it pretty easy.
- 11:00SPEAKER_11: I was about to say, I mean, it was like bam.
- 11:02SPEAKER_11: Yeah, you gotta and if as long as you know it's I don't know, uh stuff like that, I suppose it's it's okay, it's good.
- 11:09SPEAKER_11: Um, because you don't have to spend money or time on designing something.
- 11:14SPEAKER_13: Exactly.
- 11:15SPEAKER_13: Yeah, you know, yeah.
- 11:16SPEAKER_11: Uh which kind of puts my wife out of work.
- 11:18SPEAKER_13: Yeah.
- 11:22SPEAKER_11: Um but uh yeah, the other AI stuff that you know is is really well like the videos are a little extreme.
- 11:30SPEAKER_13: Yeah, and also people believe them sometimes.
- 11:33SPEAKER_13: Oh, yeah.
- 11:33SPEAKER_13: Well, I mean, I over the weekend I was like a ton of people were posting about Cooper Flag.
- 11:39SPEAKER_13: Yeah.
- 11:39SPEAKER_13: The kid from Maine plays in Dallas.
- 11:42SPEAKER_13: Apparently he got in Twitter wars with the Elon Musk and Caroline Levitt.
- 11:48SPEAKER_11: Bull crap.
- 11:49SPEAKER_13: Yeah, I was like, it's all you know, things that never happen for a thousand hours.
- 11:54SPEAKER_11: Exactly.
- 11:54SPEAKER_13: You know, I mean everybody was like, oh yeah, Lou.
- 11:57SPEAKER_13: I don't know what he said because I didn't bother listening.
- 11:58SPEAKER_13: Yeah.
- 11:59SPEAKER_13: It was probably something, you know.
- 12:01SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 12:01SPEAKER_11: You can tell, like, like if you like today I saw one thing about Cooper Flag, as a matter of fact.
- 12:06SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 12:07SPEAKER_11: And it said um uh something about uh Cooper and it quoted, it had a picture of him and it quoted him, and he says, I won't be uh I won't be uh r showing the pride flag because I don't I don't believe in being political during basketball.
- 12:21SPEAKER_11: This is basket.
- 12:22SPEAKER_11: I want to play basketball, so I don't do the LGBTQ thing, blah blah blah blah.
- 12:26unknown: Cooper Flag never said that.
- 12:27SPEAKER_11: Yeah, I mean why would he?
- 12:29SPEAKER_11: Right?
- 12:30SPEAKER_11: Um but it if you see where it's posted from, like it's a page called like We Love Basketball.
- 12:36SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 12:36SPEAKER_12: No, that's credible.
- 12:38SPEAKER_11: Yeah, that's right.
- 12:39SPEAKER_11: It's all stupid, it's all dumb.
- 12:41SPEAKER_13: It's just uh just people fall for it all the time.
- 12:43SPEAKER_11: Something that I I I did not or I did I didn't fall for, because it's true, is uh I just saw a promotion for John Hyatt.
- 12:54SPEAKER_11: Uh you know, he's playing in uh Waterville in February.
- 12:59SPEAKER_11: But it's a promotion for his European tour.
- 13:04SPEAKER_11: Let me rephrase that.
- 13:06SPEAKER_11: His European farewell tour.
- 13:11SPEAKER_13: Like he's going away or Europe's going away.
- 13:15SPEAKER_13: Bye, Europe! Have a good trip.
- 13:18SPEAKER_11: I think it's his last European tour.
- 13:21SPEAKER_13: Okay.
- 13:21SPEAKER_11: And I think he's probably gonna hang it up here pretty soon.
- 13:24SPEAKER_13: Well, well, he's had some you know, accidents.
- 13:27SPEAKER_11: Accidents, and he's he's 70.
- 13:30SPEAKER_11: He's in the mid-70s at least.
- 13:31SPEAKER_11: 75, maybe something like that.
- 13:33SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 13:34SPEAKER_11: Uh can't blame him, but I just think it's a bummer.
- 13:36SPEAKER_13: Yeah, that sucks.
- 13:37SPEAKER_11: I'm glad we saw him when we did.
- 13:38SPEAKER_11: I am too.
- 13:39SPEAKER_11: I mean, I would I would consider going to see him again.
- 13:41SPEAKER_11: I know you don't want to see Lal Love It, but um Not a fan, but yeah.
- 13:46SPEAKER_11: I I I would I would go see both of them um again.
- 13:49SPEAKER_11: Oh, there's a new tour uh announced.
- 13:50SPEAKER_11: Did you see this?
- 13:52SPEAKER_13: Is it uh Toad?
- 13:53SPEAKER_13: Uh nope.
- 13:54SPEAKER_13: I saw that one.
- 13:55SPEAKER_13: Toad?
- 13:55SPEAKER_13: Toad's coming to Amphitheater.
- 13:58SPEAKER_11: Toad and To what amphitheater?
- 14:01SPEAKER_11: Main savings?
- 14:01SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 14:03SPEAKER_11: Oh, I didn't see that.
- 14:04SPEAKER_13: Yeah, I just saw it today.
- 14:06SPEAKER_13: Toad and who the frick else was it?
- 14:08SPEAKER_13: There was two other bands.
- 14:09SPEAKER_13: Are you sure it's Toad?
- 14:10SPEAKER_13: Yeah.
- 14:11SPEAKER_13: I I I can read.
- 14:13SPEAKER_13: Toad the wet sprocket.
- 14:14SPEAKER_13: Well, I mean, I'm not a genius, but I can't.
- 14:16SPEAKER_11: I saw an ad.
- 14:18SPEAKER_11: Not coming to um not coming to Bangor, but coming to Sydney, Maine.
- 14:24SPEAKER_13: Um, right there, Men at Work.
- 14:27SPEAKER_13: That's the one.
- 14:28SPEAKER_13: Oh, Toads with Men at Work.
- 14:30SPEAKER_13: Yeah, and then another band, Shoshin Knife or something.
- 14:32SPEAKER_11: Um Blues Traveler, Gin Blossoms, and Spin Doctors.
- 14:39SPEAKER_11: Oh, that'd be a good show.
- 14:40SPEAKER_11: In Sydney, Maine.
- 14:41SPEAKER_13: Where's Sydney?
- 14:42SPEAKER_13: I don't know.
- 14:44SPEAKER_11: Uh I just want to see that again.
- 14:47SPEAKER_13: Yeah, right there.
- 14:48SPEAKER_13: Right there.
- 14:48SPEAKER_11: Right here.
- 14:49SPEAKER_11: Men at work and toad the what's broken.
- 14:50SPEAKER_11: Wow.
- 14:51SPEAKER_11: See, I told you! No, I I can read.
- 14:53SPEAKER_11: I believed you.
- 14:54SPEAKER_11: I can read.
- 14:55SPEAKER_11: Um boys, the concerts that are coming, my word.
- 15:00SPEAKER_13: I want to go see Pitbull.
- 15:01SPEAKER_11: Tory Amos.
- 15:02SPEAKER_11: I want to see Tory Amos.
- 15:03SPEAKER_11: No, you don't.
- 15:04SPEAKER_11: No, I don't.
- 15:06SPEAKER_13: Is that Joe Bonamas on it?
- 15:08SPEAKER_13: Yeah.
- 15:08SPEAKER_13: Dylan Scott.
- 15:10SPEAKER_11: Yeah.

- 22:22SPEAKER_11: I appreciate that guitar Earl who posted that three years ago.
- 22:26SPEAKER_11: Thanks, man.
- 22:27SPEAKER_11: Since you young guns won't even know what a compact disc is anymore, he says.
- 22:32SPEAKER_11: Compact disc fast forward.

- 22:41SPEAKER_13: And they just stuck it in there.
- 22:42SPEAKER_11: Maybe.
- 22:43SPEAKER_13: So I don't know.
- 22:44SPEAKER_11: I don't know either.
- 22:45SPEAKER_11: Um, maybe we'll get uh Paul Gilbert on the podcast and we'll ask him.
- 22:49SPEAKER_11: We'll ask him.
- 22:50SPEAKER_13: Would you do that, Paul?
- 22:51SPEAKER_13: Well, I done this.
- 22:52SPEAKER_13: I don't know what you're talking about.
- 22:54SPEAKER_13: We made that album?
- 22:57SPEAKER_11: Um okay.
- 23:00SPEAKER_11: The 20 best hard rock and metal albums of 1986.
- 23:07SPEAKER_11: 86 was a great year for music.
- 23:10SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 23:10SPEAKER_11: Uh especially rock music, actually.
- 23:13SPEAKER_11: Um off the top of your head, uh can you think of uh an album that came out in 86 that was rock or metal?
- 23:23SPEAKER_11: There's a big one.
- 23:25SPEAKER_11: I saw Master of Puppets.
- 23:28SPEAKER_11: Master of Puppets.
- 23:29SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 23:29SPEAKER_11: Bon Jovi.
- 23:30SPEAKER_11: Bon Jovi Slippery When Wet.

- 23:37SPEAKER_13: Oh, uh Oyo one too?
- 23:38SPEAKER_13: Nope.

- 23:44SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 23:45SPEAKER_11: Came out in 86.
- 23:46SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 23:46SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 23:47SPEAKER_13: So uh those are the For some reason I always think Hysteria was later than that, though.
- 23:51SPEAKER_11: Nope.
- 23:51SPEAKER_11: Uh Pyromania came out in 83, and it took him three years to do hysteria.
- 23:56SPEAKER_11: And it came out in 86?
- 23:58SPEAKER_11: Three or four years.
- 23:59SPEAKER_11: 86, I'm pretty sure.
- 24:01SPEAKER_13: I don't think so, man, because I was listening to that album at the pool when I was lifeguarding.
- 24:07SPEAKER_11: Um I'm pretty sure.
- 24:09SPEAKER_13: That would have been 88, 89.
- 24:10SPEAKER_11: I think it might have been late 86.
- 24:14SPEAKER_11: Um, 87.
- 24:18SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 24:19SPEAKER_11: Fourth studio album by rock band Deaf Leopard released on August 3rd, 87.
- 24:23SPEAKER_11: Alright.
- 24:24SPEAKER_11: Forget that.
- 24:25SPEAKER_13: Okay, so that makes more sense.
- 24:26SPEAKER_11: I thought for sure it came out in 86, but once again, I'm wrong.
- 24:32SPEAKER_11: Alright, so we named a few.
- 24:35SPEAKER_11: So let's uh let's go through this list and then we'll answer some some listener mail.
- 24:42SPEAKER_13: Listener mail, listener mail.
- 24:44SPEAKER_11: Judas Priest Turbo.
- 24:46SPEAKER_11: I was never a Judas Priest.
- 24:48SPEAKER_11: I'm not a Judas Priest.
- 24:49SPEAKER_11: I mean, there's a couple songs that I really dig.
- 24:50SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 24:51SPEAKER_11: Break and law, break and law.
- 24:56SPEAKER_11: Bustard though.

- 25:02SPEAKER_11: Lover.
- 25:03SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 25:03SPEAKER_11: But you know, now that you know uh about um the lead singer, it kind of makes it a different thing.

- 25:10SPEAKER_13: Oh, trilogy came out.
- 25:11SPEAKER_13: Oh, yeah.

- 25:51SPEAKER_11: It says Black Sabbath featuring Tony Iomi.
- 25:54SPEAKER_11: Which is interesting.
- 25:55SPEAKER_11: A Tony Iom solo album in all but name.
- 26:00SPEAKER_11: Seventh star marked the band's first album without bassist and primary lyricist Geezer Butler, released when the band's commercial stock was at an all-time low, no matter, with an all-star lineup featuring XD Purple singer Glenn Hughes, future KISS drummer Eric Singer.
- 26:14SPEAKER_11: Iom crafted an album of sprightly AOR flavored metal anthems.

- 28:44SPEAKER_13: Yep.
- 28:44SPEAKER_11: Yep.
- 28:45SPEAKER_13: Um that picture?
- 28:48SPEAKER_13: Take a guess how many STDs are in that picture.
- 28:55SPEAKER_11: Well, we know one.
- 28:56SPEAKER_11: Well, I I'm thinking at least ten.
- 29:00SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 29:01SPEAKER_11: Ultimate Sin came out in '86.

- 29:36SPEAKER_11: We know all about where that went.
- 29:38SPEAKER_11: Oh, yeah.
- 29:38SPEAKER_11: That was Van Halen's 5150.
- 29:41SPEAKER_13: I knew it.
- 29:41SPEAKER_13: I knew 5150 came out.
- 29:43SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 29:44SPEAKER_11: Uh Van Halen scored their first number one album with 5150.
- 29:48SPEAKER_13: Such a good album.
- 29:49SPEAKER_11: Because it was uh I I do think it was more um attainable to the to a mass audience.
- 29:57SPEAKER_13: Yeah, it was more commercial.
- 29:58SPEAKER_11: More commercial, yeah, yeah.
- 29:59SPEAKER_11: David Lee Roth's Eat Hem and Smile.
- 30:02SPEAKER_11: Oh, yeah.
- 30:02SPEAKER_11: Forget about that.
- 30:03SPEAKER_11: Was also the same year in 86, and he didn't do too bad either.
- 30:06SPEAKER_11: No, with that one.
- 30:08SPEAKER_11: Yankee Rose uh was on that.
- 30:11SPEAKER_11: Uh what else was on there?
- 30:13SPEAKER_13: Was it just a little giggolo on that one?
- 30:16SPEAKER_11: Is it the one with California Girls?
- 30:18SPEAKER_11: No.
- 30:18SPEAKER_13: No.
- 30:19SPEAKER_13: Or was that with the Sky?
- 30:21SPEAKER_11: No, it wasn't on Sky Scraper.
- 30:23SPEAKER_11: No, I think it was this.
- 30:24SPEAKER_11: Maybe.
- 30:24SPEAKER_11: Or was it Crazy from the Heat?
- 30:25SPEAKER_13: Oh, maybe it was Crazy From the Heat.
- 30:27SPEAKER_13: Yeah, I remember.
- 30:28SPEAKER_11: Iron Maiden's Somewhere in Time came out uh in 86, Wasted Years.
- 30:33SPEAKER_11: That's the that's the one I always play the beginning of every time I get a good Megadeth.
- 30:42SPEAKER_11: Peace sells, but who's buying?
- 30:43SPEAKER_11: Yeah, good album.
- 30:44SPEAKER_11: Um They got great names for their albums.
- 30:48SPEAKER_11: Oh, absolutely.
- 30:48SPEAKER_11: The album before this was Killing is My Business and Business.
- 30:51SPEAKER_11: Business is good.
- 30:52SPEAKER_13: That's the one with the mechanics on it, the the the four horsemen basically.
- 30:58SPEAKER_13: Right.
- 30:58SPEAKER_11: So uh Oh, Slayer.
- 31:00SPEAKER_11: Slayer's Rain and Blood.
- 31:01SPEAKER_13: Raining Blood.
- 31:02SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 31:02SPEAKER_13: I like I like I like finding reaction videos on YouTube to this song because people are mortified.
- 31:09SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 31:10SPEAKER_13: Yeah.
- 31:10SPEAKER_13: It is funny.
- 31:12SPEAKER_13: I literally watched one guy at the end of the song rummage around in his desk and pull out a Bible and hold it.
- 31:20SPEAKER_13: I laugh so freaking hard.
- 31:23SPEAKER_11: And of course, the one that you mentioned, Master of Puppets.
- 31:25SPEAKER_11: Master of Puppets.
- 31:26SPEAKER_11: Came out in '86.
- 31:29SPEAKER_11: Um, this is the final album with Cliff Burton.
- 31:32SPEAKER_11: Yes.
- 31:32SPEAKER_11: Yep.
- 31:33SPEAKER_11: And uh, well, Master of Puppets, I can think of uh on this.
- 31:37SPEAKER_11: What else?
- 31:37SPEAKER_11: Batteries on this.
- 31:38SPEAKER_13: Battery, Orion, uh Disposable Heroes, Damage Incorporated.
- 31:44SPEAKER_13: Yep.
- 31:45SPEAKER_13: Um holy crap.
- 31:48SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 31:49SPEAKER_11: For hard rock and metal, man.
- 31:51SPEAKER_13: 86 yeah, Sanatorium's on this album.
- 31:53SPEAKER_11: Yep.
- 31:54SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 31:54SPEAKER_11: 86 was a great year.
- 31:56SPEAKER_13: Leper Messiah's on this album.
- 31:58SPEAKER_13: I mean, this whole this whole album, it's one of those albums that I don't I don't skip tracks on.
- 32:03SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 32:04SPEAKER_13: So um whiplash is on, kill them all.
- 32:08SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 32:08SPEAKER_11: No, all good stuff, man.
- 32:10SPEAKER_11: I mean 86 was a great year.
- 32:12SPEAKER_11: What was your favorite year of music?
- 32:14SPEAKER_11: Can you pick one?
- 32:15SPEAKER_13: No.
- 32:15SPEAKER_11: No?
- 32:16SPEAKER_11: Was it in the 80s?
- 32:23SPEAKER_13: I don't think I had a favorite music until I started buying my own music.
- 32:27SPEAKER_13: Yeah.
- 32:28SPEAKER_13: Which would have been in the 80s.
- 32:30SPEAKER_13: My first my first the first music I ever bought myself was Tears for Fears Songs from the Big Chair.
- 32:38SPEAKER_11: Which was 84?
- 32:40SPEAKER_11: Yeah, it was early 80s.
- 32:41SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 32:41SPEAKER_13: It had to be early 80s because that was when I first started picking potatoes in the harvest.
- 32:46SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 32:47SPEAKER_11: Making your own money.
- 32:48SPEAKER_11: Making my own money.
- 32:48SPEAKER_13: And I'd be like, oh, you got you got some money.
- 32:50SPEAKER_13: You can go buy something.
- 32:51SPEAKER_13: You know, I'd be like, oh.
- 32:53SPEAKER_13: So I went and bought music, obviously.
- 32:55SPEAKER_11: I'm gonna say.
- 32:58SPEAKER_13: Um But I think I think like early 90s.
- 33:02SPEAKER_11: Was your was your favorite?
- 33:03SPEAKER_13: Because it was that I liked that period when grunge was coming up and but hair metal was still around.
- 33:11SPEAKER_13: It was that sweet spot.
- 33:12SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 33:12SPEAKER_13: Because I was it I was getting into grunge, but I still had my hair metal.
- 33:16SPEAKER_13: Yeah.
- 33:16SPEAKER_13: Of course I had Metallica and Pantera and Anthrax and all those guys still too.
- 33:21SPEAKER_13: So that was that was that was a sweet like the mid-90s, because I was lost I was also listening to like Public Enemy and Ice Cube and all that stuff too.
- 33:29SPEAKER_11: So I I'm gonna whiss out on you a little bit.
- 33:33SPEAKER_11: Um I think uh not that I have a favorite year, but I have years that stuck with me more than others.
- 33:41SPEAKER_11: Um and I had it has to be in the late 80s, 87, 88, 89.
- 33:46SPEAKER_11: I you know, somewhere in there.
- 33:48SPEAKER_11: I love 84.
- 33:49SPEAKER_11: 1984 had some great music as well.
- 33:51SPEAKER_11: But 87, 88, 89, on pop radio, pop rock music.
- 33:57SPEAKER_11: I mean, there was pop music.
- 33:59SPEAKER_11: Right?
- 33:59SPEAKER_11: But there was well, uh actually, let me just do this real quick.
- 34:03SPEAKER_11: Um so let me see, Billboard, top 100, uh 1980, let's go 87.
- 34:13SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 34:14SPEAKER_11: Uh and I just want to I don't allow it.
- 34:18SPEAKER_11: Okay, so Billboard.
- 34:21SPEAKER_11: I go billboard because that's basically pop radio.
- 34:24SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 34:25SPEAKER_11: Um So I'll just name a few of these.
- 34:30SPEAKER_11: In the I'll just name the top 10.
- 34:32SPEAKER_11: How's that?
- 34:33SPEAKER_11: No, I gotta end, I gotta do more than the top ten.
- 34:36SPEAKER_11: Walk like an Egyptian, the Bengals.
- 34:38SPEAKER_11: Now, not necessarily my favorite song.
- 34:40SPEAKER_11: But it was my favorite video.
- 34:42SPEAKER_11: Oh my word.
- 34:44SPEAKER_11: And she didn't really do anything, really, except doing a side eye.
- 34:48SPEAKER_11: She had a look.
- 34:49SPEAKER_13: The side eye.
- 34:50SPEAKER_11: Yes, yes.
- 34:50SPEAKER_13: Every guy our age knows the side eye from Susanna Hoff.
- 34:55SPEAKER_10: Yes, they do.
- 34:55SPEAKER_12: I don't even have to describe it to you because all I have to say is Susanna Hoff's side eye.
- 35:01SPEAKER_11: Okay, have you seen have you seen the movie that she's in?
- 35:04SPEAKER_11: What movie?
- 35:05SPEAKER_11: She's in a movie.
- 35:08SPEAKER_11: Um does it have an X in the rating?
- 35:13SPEAKER_11: No, it doesn't.
- 35:13SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 35:14SPEAKER_11: No, it doesn't.
- 35:15SPEAKER_11: But um I don't know if I should be looking this up on my phone.
- 35:21SPEAKER_11: Probably not.
- 35:21SPEAKER_11: Because you're gonna get some weird stuff.
- 35:23SPEAKER_11: No, it's not uh it's not like anything bad.
- 35:26SPEAKER_11: Let me just find the name of the movie, and um I will I don't remember her being in a movie.
- 35:31SPEAKER_13: Why don't why don't I remember that?
- 35:33SPEAKER_11: She was it was a it was a m I th she was in a band too in the movie.
- 35:38SPEAKER_13: Like uh was it like a m um Was she a musician in this movie?
- 35:42SPEAKER_11: She was uh I wonder if this is it.
- 35:47SPEAKER_11: It's called the All Nighter.
- 35:50SPEAKER_11: Um let's do oops, that's not what I meant to do.
- 35:55SPEAKER_11: Um because I think you're gonna you're gonna thank me once I do this.
- 36:00SPEAKER_11: But uh maybe I'll have to do it.
- 36:02SPEAKER_11: Maybe I'll have to do it another time.
- 36:04SPEAKER_11: Hold on.
- 36:14SPEAKER_11: Um Yeah, okay, here's a movie clip.
- 36:17SPEAKER_11: Let me just see if I can show you what I'm talking about here, Doug.
- 36:22SPEAKER_11: You see this okay?
- 36:23SPEAKER_11: This is on Twitter, I don't have Twitter.
- 36:25SPEAKER_13: Oh yeah, I've seen I've seen I've seen stills of this.
- 36:28SPEAKER_13: Okay.
- 36:29SPEAKER_13: I thought it was a music video.
- 36:30SPEAKER_13: No, like I don't know this song.

- 38:39SPEAKER_11: This is just 87.
- 38:40SPEAKER_11: So this might not even be, it might be 88, 89 that was my favorite.
- 38:43SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 38:44SPEAKER_11: But I think those three years, 87, 88, 89, were were my favorites uh growing up.
- 38:51SPEAKER_11: Because I I think they have the most memories for me of I don't know, trying to find my place in music.
- 39:04SPEAKER_08: Oh.
- 39:05SPEAKER_11: This is what Shane's driving right now.
- 39:07SPEAKER_11: Did you see that message?
- 39:08SPEAKER_11: I saw the message, I didn't see the picture.
- 39:10SPEAKER_11: It looks it's a Mustang.
- 39:12SPEAKER_11: Looks like a Mustang.
- 39:13SPEAKER_13: Or is that a Camaro?
- 39:14SPEAKER_11: Well, it's got a it's got a horse on the front.
- 39:17SPEAKER_13: Does it?
- 39:17SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 39:18SPEAKER_13: Oh, okay.
- 39:20SPEAKER_13: It looked like the Chevy Bowtie.
- 39:21SPEAKER_13: Oh no, that's a Mustang.
- 39:22SPEAKER_13: Yeah, that's a that's a new Mustang.
- 39:24SPEAKER_11: Uh let's see what's going on.
- 39:25SPEAKER_11: Why is he driving this?
- 39:26SPEAKER_11: Um He had to leave his car with a mechanic to have his brakes done.
- 39:31SPEAKER_11: He was gonna go to his dad's and do them in his garage, but we got snow, blah blah blah blah blah blah.
- 39:35SPEAKER_11: I needed a rental to get to work and whatnot.
- 39:37SPEAKER_11: I reserved a mid-sized sedan, like a Corolla or something similar.
- 39:40SPEAKER_11: They didn't have any, so they gave me a free upgrade.
- 39:42SPEAKER_11: Guess what I'm driving in January in Maine on snowy roads.
- 39:48SPEAKER_13: That's almost criminal.
- 39:50SPEAKER_13: It is criminal.
- 39:51SPEAKER_11: So he's driving a nice black Mustang, brand new.
- 39:54SPEAKER_11: Noise like.
- 39:55SPEAKER_11: Anyway, uh, good stuff.
- 39:57SPEAKER_11: Um so what was I?
- 40:00SPEAKER_11: Oh, it was gonna go to listener mail.
- 40:02SPEAKER_11: That's right.
- 40:02SPEAKER_11: Oh, yeah, listener mail.
- 40:04SPEAKER_11: Okay, so Bouncing Bob sent us a message.
- 40:08SPEAKER_11: Bob he said, and I don't know how if we could do this, uh, we could do a couple of these, maybe.
- 40:13SPEAKER_11: Maybe we could make him we can make a thing out of it.
- 40:16SPEAKER_11: Maybe we um do a couple today and then do a couple on another podcast.
- 40:22SPEAKER_11: But he says, I was interested in your mentioning and playing a cover song, always on my mind by the Pet Shop Boys.
- 40:28SPEAKER_11: I looked it up and compared it to Willie Nelson's song and felt Willie's was the better version.
- 40:32SPEAKER_11: And that's subjective.
- 40:33SPEAKER_11: That's yeah, you know, that's you know uh Willie's obviously is the classic version.
- 40:37SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 40:37SPEAKER_11: I think it would be interesting if you and Doug could decide which is better of the following songs which have been covered, perhaps even play snippets of each version.
- 40:44SPEAKER_11: Here, Bob is being our producer, is what he's doing.
- 40:47SPEAKER_11: Um, somebody's gotta.
- 40:49SPEAKER_11: Yeah, right.
- 40:50SPEAKER_11: Question what version is better?
- 40:52SPEAKER_11: Okay, so do you want to just go down the list?
- 40:56SPEAKER_13: Well, let's just do the first one.
- 40:58SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 40:59SPEAKER_13: What's the first one you list?
- 41:00SPEAKER_11: So I love rock and roll by Joan Jett and the Black Hearts.
- 41:04SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 41:04SPEAKER_11: Uh now I've always known this was a cover.
- 41:08SPEAKER_11: Uh let's see.
- 41:12SPEAKER_11: Let me do, I'll get them both pulled up here.
- 41:15SPEAKER_11: And to be honest, I don't think there's much difference.
- 41:23SPEAKER_11: Um let's play the version that everybody knows first.
- 41:31SPEAKER_02: Meat Jan.
- 41:32SPEAKER_11: Meat Jan.
- 41:33SPEAKER_11: That's not meat jan.
- 41:36SPEAKER_13: Is it like meat like in like talk to or yes?
- 41:41SPEAKER_13: Barbecue.
- 41:49SPEAKER_13: Oh, this is that fake version.
- 41:51SPEAKER_13: Isn't it?
- 41:51SPEAKER_13: Yeah.
- 41:52SPEAKER_13: Remember when we went through this with HD D Collins.
- 41:58SPEAKER_00: I don't think so.
- 41:59SPEAKER_00: That's her.
- 42:01SPEAKER_13: Yeah, it's it's really, really close, but it's not in it.
- 42:05SPEAKER_13: Um, we'll go here then.
- 42:08SPEAKER_11: So this is the video.
- 43:57SPEAKER_11: You know, it's just a guide thing, basically.
- 44:00SPEAKER_11: Um I don't know.
- 44:02SPEAKER_13: Well, I'm more partial to Joan Jets.
- 44:04SPEAKER_11: Probably.
- 44:05SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 44:05SPEAKER_11: Yeah, because that's the one that we're the one we grew up on.
- 44:08SPEAKER_13: Right.
- 44:08SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 44:08SPEAKER_11: I I would I would say probably partial to Joan Jets.
- 44:12SPEAKER_11: I'm not going to go through all of these because some of them I think we can answer without even listening to them.
- 44:16SPEAKER_11: American Woman.
- 44:17SPEAKER_11: Lenny Kravitz and the Guess Who.
- 44:22SPEAKER_11: Nancy, I like the Guess Who.
- 44:24SPEAKER_11: I like Lenny's version.
- 44:25SPEAKER_13: I like both of them.
- 44:26SPEAKER_11: I do too.
- 44:27SPEAKER_13: Yeah, the guess who the guess who is more.
- 44:29SPEAKER_11: I would I would have to go with the guess who.
- 44:31SPEAKER_11: Uh Landslide.
- 44:32SPEAKER_11: Uh Smashing Pumpkins covered it.
- 44:34SPEAKER_11: Fleetwood Mags did the original.
- 44:37SPEAKER_11: Well, let's listen to it.
- 44:38SPEAKER_11: I gotta go with Fleetwood Mags version.
- 44:40SPEAKER_11: Um just out of let's see.
- 44:46SPEAKER_11: Smashing Pumpkins Pumpkins.
- 44:52SPEAKER_11: Pumpkins.
- 44:55SPEAKER_11: Yeah, I'm not saying I don't like the Smash Pilkins version.
- 45:00SPEAKER_11: Um but Stevie Nix's version with the fleet with Mag is just iconic.
- 45:45SPEAKER_11: I never liked Billy Corgans.
- 45:48SPEAKER_13: He's got a he's got a weird delivery.
- 45:51SPEAKER_11: Yeah, it was I was it was never a a big fan.
- 45:54SPEAKER_11: I I gotta go fleet with Mac on that.
- 45:56SPEAKER_11: Yeah, I agree.
- 45:56SPEAKER_11: I'm gonna do two more and um one of them we might have to listen to.
- 46:01SPEAKER_11: Uh one of them we don't have to listen to.
- 46:03SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 46:03SPEAKER_11: As far as I'm concerned.
- 46:05SPEAKER_11: Um You really got me.
- 46:07SPEAKER_11: The Kinks or Van Halen?
- 46:08SPEAKER_11: Van Halen.
- 46:09SPEAKER_11: Van Halen.
- 46:10SPEAKER_13: Yeah.
- 46:10SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 46:11SPEAKER_11: That's just our preference.
- 46:13SPEAKER_11: That is just our preference.
- 46:14SPEAKER_11: Yeah, the Kinks version is amazing, obviously amazing enough to inspire Eddie Van Halen.
- 46:18SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 46:18SPEAKER_11: Um but I gotta go Van Halen.
- 46:22SPEAKER_11: I think I know the answer to this one too, but I think I still think it would be fun to play it because um play this first.
- 47:19SPEAKER_11: This of course is the original, well, not the original, but what people think is the original.
- 47:25SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 47:25SPEAKER_11: It's an old folk song.
- 47:26SPEAKER_13: It is, yeah.
- 47:27SPEAKER_11: But Finn Lizzie, Phil Linet and Finn Lizzie did this version.
- 47:30SPEAKER_11: This is whiskey in a jar in the jar.
- 48:01SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 48:02SPEAKER_11: Uh and then of course there is the Metallica version.
- 48:06SPEAKER_13: Um we played this on the show.
- 48:16SPEAKER_13: Oh my word.
- 48:17SPEAKER_13: Oh, I gotta talk to you about this show here in a second.
- 48:26SPEAKER_11: As much as I love St.
- 48:27SPEAKER_11: Lizzie, I have to go with this.
- 48:28SPEAKER_11: But yeah, I didn't tell that.
- 48:30SPEAKER_11: I just they did such a killer job.
- 48:32SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah, I told you they really made it their own.
- 48:51SPEAKER_11: Except for the Jarro part.
- 48:53SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 48:54SPEAKER_11: Actually, no, Phil Lina did that too.
- 49:00SPEAKER_11: Anyway, um I'm not gonna go through the whole list because maybe we can do that another time if we remember.
- 49:05SPEAKER_11: Um, how many more has he got there?
- 49:08SPEAKER_11: Well, he's got a lot.
- 49:09SPEAKER_11: Oh wow, okay.
- 49:10SPEAKER_11: Uh so let's see.
- 49:11SPEAKER_11: One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen, four.
- 49:19SPEAKER_11: Then it goes on, and I'm not even counting them all anymore.
- 49:22SPEAKER_11: And then he said more to come, and then he gave me more.
- 49:25SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 49:26SPEAKER_11: Um he did say probably you can use this over a period of weeks.
- 49:30SPEAKER_11: There are a lot of covers out there.
- 49:31SPEAKER_11: Most of them I got from Colorado Sound.
- 49:34SPEAKER_11: Um, yeah, so he he we got a good list going here.
- 49:38SPEAKER_11: Okay, well, we we can uh refer back.
- 49:40SPEAKER_11: Well, we will refer back, yes, for sure.
- 49:42SPEAKER_11: Thanks, Bob.
- 49:43SPEAKER_11: Yeah, thanks, Bob.
- 49:44SPEAKER_11: Good idea.
- 49:45SPEAKER_13: Fantastic idea, actually.
- 49:47SPEAKER_13: Um Let's do what do what did you have to talk about the show?
- 49:52SPEAKER_13: Oh yes.
- 49:53SPEAKER_11: Um Like our show or no, well or a show or No, so I I wanna I wanna um I'm not gonna say uh who I got this from.
- 50:04SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 50:05SPEAKER_11: Uh but I'll show you who I got this from.
- 50:07SPEAKER_11: Because I just I don't want to get this person uh in trouble and I don't wanna ruin my um my uh credit score.
- 50:21SPEAKER_11: Yeah, that's it.
- 50:23SPEAKER_11: Um can you see that name on the top?
- 50:26SPEAKER_13: Oh yeah.
- 50:27SPEAKER_13: Okay.
- 50:28SPEAKER_11: Um so it says, hey, I'm reaching out to see if you would be willing to do some remotes or endorsement on a contractor basis.
- 50:37SPEAKER_11: Oh uh we are in desperate need of talent.
- 50:41SPEAKER_11: It's coming the wrong place.
- 50:42SPEAKER_11: I don't understand that.
- 50:43SPEAKER_11: Ain't no talent here.
- 50:45SPEAKER_11: Um so basically, um they've got some remotes, uh probably coming up in the spring and summer.
- 50:53SPEAKER_11: Um, a lot of them in Canada, I think.
- 50:56SPEAKER_11: And uh endorsements for a 30 s a 30 second spot and a 60 second spot.
- 51:00SPEAKER_11: I don't know exactly what that means.
- 51:03SPEAKER_11: Um but he's he's gonna uh he's if I'm interested, he's gonna let contact me and let me know.
- 51:09SPEAKER_11: Uh to see if I would be available.
- 51:11SPEAKER_11: He'll work around my schedule, which is great.
- 51:14SPEAKER_11: That's nice.
- 51:15SPEAKER_11: Um so I told him I was interested and I appreciate the opportunity.
- 51:18SPEAKER_11: I just think it's um um cool to to be back in that world.
- 51:26SPEAKER_11: Yeah, even just a little bit.
- 51:27SPEAKER_11: Because I do miss it.
- 51:28SPEAKER_11: You know, it's I I did it for so long.
- 51:30SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 51:31SPEAKER_11: Um and would love to get back in there, even if it's just just for that.
- 51:37SPEAKER_13: Right.
- 51:38SPEAKER_11: You know?
- 51:38SPEAKER_11: Um because I was pretty good at it.
- 51:42SPEAKER_13: Oh yeah.
- 51:43SPEAKER_11: Um even even remotes, you know, I could sell something.
- 51:47SPEAKER_11: Oh yeah, uh, you know, on on on the air.
- 51:49SPEAKER_11: So um I liked uh I'm excited about that.
- 51:52SPEAKER_11: And it may not be a big thing, maybe just like every once in a while, but yeah, hey, I'm game.
- 51:58SPEAKER_11: I thought it was kind of kinda neat.
- 51:59SPEAKER_13: Yeah, that's cool.
- 52:00SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 52:00SPEAKER_11: And it came out of nowhere, too.
- 52:02SPEAKER_11: I wasn't expecting it.
- 52:03SPEAKER_13: Okay, even better.
- 52:04SPEAKER_13: Yeah.
- 52:04SPEAKER_13: Alright, you know, it's legit.

- 52:21SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 52:21SPEAKER_11: I'm gonna put this one back because I don't know if you'll get that one.
- 52:24SPEAKER_11: Maybe you would, but actually, knowing you, you probably would.
- 52:28SPEAKER_11: But I'm gonna pick a different one.
- 52:30SPEAKER_11: I got two.
- 52:31SPEAKER_11: Um not sure that you would know that one.
- 52:35SPEAKER_11: Not sure you would know that one.

- 52:44SPEAKER_11: Yeah, it's still plugged in.
- 52:47SPEAKER_11: Alright, I think you will know that one.
- 52:49SPEAKER_11: Okay.

- 56:50SPEAKER_11: The two weeks ago, or whatever it was.
- 56:51SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 56:52SPEAKER_11: Alright, so are we doing the past?
- 56:57SPEAKER_11: Right?
- 56:57SPEAKER_11: Did we didn't we picked one last week?
- 56:59SPEAKER_13: Yeah, well that's what we're doing right now.
- 57:01SPEAKER_11: So that's the present.
- 57:02SPEAKER_13: Yes.
- 57:02SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 57:03SPEAKER_13: Because we don't have a past.
- 57:04SPEAKER_11: Right.

- 57:13SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 57:14SPEAKER_13: Okay, so cousin Larry is weighed in on the side.
- 57:17SPEAKER_13: Wait, what's the question?
- 57:18SPEAKER_13: It's the chef one.
- 57:21SPEAKER_11: Let me read it.
- 57:22SPEAKER_11: Alright.
- 57:23SPEAKER_11: So this is the one we're working on.
- 57:25SPEAKER_11: After showing you the ropes on the fryer, the cook says it's time to teach you the way of the griddle.
- 57:32SPEAKER_11: He asks Alexa to play his top ten.
- 57:35SPEAKER_11: What song plays first?
- 57:38SPEAKER_13: Alright.
- 57:38SPEAKER_13: So this is what Cousin Larry said.
- 57:41SPEAKER_13: Mixtape.
- 57:42SPEAKER_13: Well, when I think of a griddle, I think of pancakes, so I first thought about Banana Pancakes by Jack Johnson.
- 57:48SPEAKER_13: Eat it by Weird Owl also came to mind quickly.
- 57:51SPEAKER_13: Glen Fry's The Heat is on would be a good one too.
- 57:54SPEAKER_13: But I have to go with Cheeseburger in Paradise by Jimmy Buffett.
- 57:58SPEAKER_11: Nice.
- 57:58SPEAKER_13: It's that American creation on which I feed.
- 58:01SPEAKER_13: Honorable mention to the Aunt Jemima treatment scene from Stripes.
- 58:06SPEAKER_13: That's how to use a spatula.
- 58:53SPEAKER_11: Jimmy Leffett, rest in peace.
- 58:56SPEAKER_11: Okay, what did you do?
- 58:59SPEAKER_13: You're not ready for this one.
- 59:00SPEAKER_13: Probably not.
- 59:03SPEAKER_13: Mine is the theme song that the Swedish chef from the Muppets always sang.
- 59:09SPEAKER_11: So is that what I type in?
- 59:11SPEAKER_11: Is Swedish Chef theme song?
- 59:12SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 59:14SPEAKER_11: So he would have that on his top ten iTunes?
- 59:18SPEAKER_11: I would, man.
- 59:19SPEAKER_13: Who knows?
- 59:19SPEAKER_13: Who's better chef than uh the Swedish chef?
- 59:22SPEAKER_11: Let's see.
- 59:29SPEAKER_08: Why is it not playing?
- 59:31SPEAKER_11: Is there no oh here we go?
- 59:40SPEAKER_03: Bork bark barking playing four of them.

- 1:00:20SPEAKER_11: That was and that was Frank Oz, too.
- 1:00:22SPEAKER_11: Not Frank Oz, um Jim Henson.
- 1:00:26SPEAKER_11: Jim Henson, yeah.
- 1:00:26SPEAKER_11: Yeah, the one that did Kermit Kermit and Fozzie and I think that's his hands.
- 1:00:36SPEAKER_11: People, kids these days, they don't know what they're doing.
- 1:00:39SPEAKER_11: They don't know what they're missing.
- 1:00:40SPEAKER_11: They don't know what they're missing.
- 1:00:45SPEAKER_03: All right.

- 1:01:48SPEAKER_11: It's okay though.
- 1:01:49SPEAKER_11: Good thinking.
- 1:01:50SPEAKER_11: So uh cousin Larry's was Cheeseburger and Paradise.
- 1:01:54SPEAKER_11: Cheeseburger in Paradise, Jimmy Puppet.
- 1:01:56SPEAKER_11: Yours was the Swedish chef theme song.

- 1:02:06SPEAKER_11: Uh okay, so that's good luck, Miss Judgeness.
- 1:02:08SPEAKER_11: Yeah, right.
- 1:02:09SPEAKER_11: Well, I think it's already it's already decided, really.
- 1:02:14SPEAKER_11: And deservedly so.
- 1:02:15SPEAKER_11: I think the Swedish chef one probably has to.
- 1:02:18SPEAKER_13: I just love the Muppet Show.
- 1:02:19SPEAKER_13: I'm you know partial.

- 1:02:42SPEAKER_11: And it wasn't very long.
- 1:02:43SPEAKER_11: No, really, not really.
- 1:02:44SPEAKER_11: Like three or four years.
- 1:02:45SPEAKER_11: But they were prolific, man.
- 1:02:46SPEAKER_11: Oh my word, and it was genius.
- 1:02:48SPEAKER_13: Yes, absolutely.
- 1:02:50SPEAKER_13: Did you know that they're uh they're in Weird Al's uh video for uh White and Nerdy?
- 1:02:55SPEAKER_11: I did not.
- 1:02:56SPEAKER_13: Yeah, they're the they're the very they're in the very first scene of that movie.
- 1:02:58SPEAKER_13: I just or that video.
- 1:03:00SPEAKER_11: I just watched one just before you got here where uh they're they're hiding they're hiding behind something because there's zombies coming, right?
- 1:03:08SPEAKER_11: And there's like all these zombies kind of uh in their neighborhood, like, okay, and they're really scared.
- 1:03:15SPEAKER_11: We gotta we gotta avoid them because we can't get bit.
- 1:03:17SPEAKER_11: Right, okay.
- 1:03:18SPEAKER_11: So they they go out into the into the neighborhood and they're walking by the zombies and the zombies are like and they're wait a minute.
- 1:03:28SPEAKER_11: Zombies are racist, they don't like black people.
- 1:03:32SPEAKER_11: So they go up to a somebody, there's a zombie sitting in his car, and one of them walks up to him and he locks his door.
- 1:03:42SPEAKER_12: Rolls open the window.
- 1:03:44SPEAKER_11: And then there's another uh another black guy that comes by and he goes, Hey guys, come on over here, we're having a party.
- 1:03:51SPEAKER_11: So funny.
- 1:03:53SPEAKER_11: Oh my gosh, those guys are awesome.
- 1:03:55SPEAKER_11: Yeah, great stuff.
- 1:03:56SPEAKER_11: Holy cow.
- 1:03:57SPEAKER_11: All right, do you have one?
- 1:03:58SPEAKER_11: I do.
- 1:03:59SPEAKER_13: All right, best song for the summer at any time from any generation.
- 1:04:05SPEAKER_13: Wow.
- 1:04:06SPEAKER_13: That's kind of that's very, very broad.
- 1:04:10SPEAKER_11: Yeah, and hard.
- 1:04:11SPEAKER_11: And super hard.
- 1:04:13SPEAKER_11: Because best, I mean, that's all subjective.
- 1:04:16SPEAKER_11: That's like best and favorite are two, you know, those are definitive things.
- 1:04:20SPEAKER_11: Exactly.
- 1:04:21SPEAKER_11: It is subjective, but it's my my this is the best song for the summer.
- 1:04:28SPEAKER_13: I don't know.
- 1:04:29SPEAKER_13: That's it's debatable.
- 1:04:31SPEAKER_11: That's hard.
- 1:04:32SPEAKER_13: Yeah, man.
- 1:04:33SPEAKER_11: It is.
- 1:04:34SPEAKER_13: Yeah, man.
- 1:04:35SPEAKER_11: Um, okay, so there you go.

- 1:04:42SPEAKER_11: Maybe we will, maybe we won't.
- 1:04:44SPEAKER_13: We don't know.
- 1:04:45SPEAKER_11: No, we will.
- 1:04:46SPEAKER_13: Oh, we are.
- 1:04:47SPEAKER_13: Yes.
- 1:04:47SPEAKER_13: I'll just say.
- 1:04:48SPEAKER_13: Okay.
- 1:04:49SPEAKER_13: I was just trying to build drama.

- 1:06:13SPEAKER_11: It's time to climb a wall of tunes.
- 1:06:15SPEAKER_11: I want you to think about something when I take off my headphones and climb the wall of tunes.
- 1:06:20SPEAKER_11: Because my daughter just shared something with me on Instagram.
- 1:06:26SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 1:06:27SPEAKER_11: And it says we've reached the point where high school musical is as old as Greece was when our parents would talk about it to us.
- 1:06:46SPEAKER_11: Just chew on that for a little minute.
- 1:06:49SPEAKER_13: Oh my gosh.
- 1:06:51SPEAKER_13: Yeah.
- 1:06:53SPEAKER_13: You know, to us, the 80s are still like ten years ago.
- 1:06:57SPEAKER_13: Right.
- 1:06:57SPEAKER_13: You know what I mean?
- 1:06:58SPEAKER_13: And it always I think it always will be because it was such a uh seminal era in our lives.
- 1:07:04SPEAKER_13: Of course.
- 1:07:04SPEAKER_13: So we're always gonna be like, ah yeah, back in the eighties, that was like two weeks ago.
- 1:07:10SPEAKER_13: You know.
- 1:07:10SPEAKER_13: So, you know, it'll it'll always be like I don't care how far away we get right.
- 1:07:15SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 1:07:15SPEAKER_13: It's always gonna be like it's it's so there.
- 1:07:18SPEAKER_13: It's so like you just go back, you're just like, yeah, I'm right there.
- 1:07:22SPEAKER_13: Yeah.
- 1:07:22SPEAKER_13: For sure.
- 1:07:23SPEAKER_13: Probably because we listened to so much music from that era too.
- 1:07:26SPEAKER_11: I do think it was uh it was a defining era in so many ways.
- 1:07:33SPEAKER_11: Uh it was in the Cold War, you know, and it was there was uh uh electronic things that we didn't have before.
- 1:07:42SPEAKER_13: Yeah.
- 1:07:42SPEAKER_11: That w that were just coming out.
- 1:07:44SPEAKER_13: Um I know.
- 1:07:48SPEAKER_11: You were like, oh And did you see the size of the cordless?
- 1:07:50SPEAKER_13: Yeah, sort of like it was like those big walkie-talkies they use in World War II to call in you know, like artillery.
- 1:07:56SPEAKER_11: Yeah, it's true.
- 1:07:58SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 1:07:58SPEAKER_11: Um yeah, you're right though.
- 1:08:01SPEAKER_11: I mean it's we could it's I mean V I mean movies, yeah.
- 1:08:06SPEAKER_13: You could you could buy movies and watch them at your house.
- 1:08:09SPEAKER_13: Right.
- 1:08:10SPEAKER_13: And before that, the only way to watch a movie was at the theater.
- 1:08:14SPEAKER_13: Was that theater or on TV?
- 1:08:15SPEAKER_11: Or on TV.
- 1:08:16SPEAKER_13: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:08:16SPEAKER_13: And of course it was on TV, you can there was no swearing.
- 1:08:19SPEAKER_13: Right.
- 1:08:20SPEAKER_13: You you you mother tracker.
- 1:08:23SPEAKER_13: What the fudge are you talking about?
- 1:08:25SPEAKER_10: Yeah, they they yeah, they flip them.
- 1:08:27SPEAKER_10: They overdubbed it.
- 1:08:28SPEAKER_13: They overdubbed it.
- 1:08:29SPEAKER_11: It was the worst overdubs.
- 1:08:30SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 1:08:31SPEAKER_11: Oh man.
- 1:08:32SPEAKER_11: Um and then um yeah, we used you'd go to the video store and buy and and rent a video.
- 1:08:39SPEAKER_13: You could rent a video, you could rent a VCR.
- 1:08:41SPEAKER_13: Right.
- 1:08:42SPEAKER_13: If you didn't have a VCR, you could rent a VCR and some movies, have it for the whole weekend, get some pizza.
- 1:08:46SPEAKER_13: Get it Friday night, and you didn't have to take it back till like Sunday or Monday, I think.
- 1:08:50SPEAKER_11: Right?
- 1:08:51SPEAKER_11: I was the best.
- 1:08:52SPEAKER_11: Oh yeah.
- 1:08:53SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 1:08:54SPEAKER_11: Those are good times, man.
- 1:08:55SPEAKER_13: Atari.
- 1:08:57SPEAKER_11: And now and now you had to go to an arcade to play video games until our Atari came right.
- 1:09:03SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 1:09:03SPEAKER_11: And now people uh bitch and moan because something's not streaming.
- 1:09:06SPEAKER_11: You know?
- 1:09:07SPEAKER_11: Well if I want to watch this, well, how can I start streaming?
- 1:09:09SPEAKER_11: That's well, that's a ripoff.
- 1:09:10SPEAKER_11: I'm gonna I'm gonna subscribe to this just for the to watch this.
- 1:09:15SPEAKER_11: Like we we we we whine and moan about this the smallest things these days.
- 1:09:20SPEAKER_11: You know, not necessarily us, but you know Yeah, they they have no idea how good they are.
- 1:09:26SPEAKER_13: No, I mean, come on.
- 1:09:27SPEAKER_13: And it's just of course our parents are like, oh, they have no idea how good they had it.
- 1:09:31SPEAKER_13: And they're not wrong.
- 1:09:32SPEAKER_13: Yeah, yeah, they're absolutely right, man.
- 1:09:34SPEAKER_13: They had a worse than us.
- 1:09:35SPEAKER_13: Yeah.
- 1:09:36SPEAKER_11: Um, I have an album.
- 1:09:38SPEAKER_11: Um so let the guessing begin.
- 1:09:41SPEAKER_13: Is it a band?
- 1:09:42SPEAKER_13: No.
- 1:09:43SPEAKER_13: It's a solo?
- 1:09:44SPEAKER_13: Yes.
- 1:09:45SPEAKER_13: Woman?
- 1:09:46SPEAKER_13: No.
- 1:09:46SPEAKER_11: Man.
- 1:09:47SPEAKER_11: Solomon.
- 1:09:48SPEAKER_11: Solomon.
- 1:09:50SPEAKER_11: I should uh I don't haven't I haven't picked a lot of women.
- 1:09:54SPEAKER_11: I do have some women artists, female artists up there.
- 1:09:57SPEAKER_13: Yeah, we haven't done a whole lot.
- 1:09:59SPEAKER_13: I think we've done Susan Tansky.
- 1:10:03SPEAKER_13: Yeah.
- 1:10:05SPEAKER_13: Uh we didn't get it.
- 1:10:14SPEAKER_11: Um I think it was gonna say In the ballpark.
- 1:10:28SPEAKER_13: In the ballparkie.
- 1:10:33SPEAKER_11: Oh, that didn't take long.
- 1:10:35SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 1:10:36SPEAKER_11: Um photographs and memories.
- 1:10:39SPEAKER_11: His greatest hits.
- 1:10:42SPEAKER_11: Fantastic.
- 1:10:42SPEAKER_11: Have we done Jim Crochie?
- 1:10:44SPEAKER_11: I don't think we've ever done Jim Crochy.
- 1:10:45SPEAKER_11: We should I will consult the.
- 1:10:47SPEAKER_11: We should have, um, because uh it's just uh underrated um I will say artists, one of the best mustaches in music.
- 1:10:58SPEAKER_13: Yes, for sure.
- 1:10:59SPEAKER_11: So now um most people know I'll play you uh a couple of songs that he's known for.
- 1:11:05SPEAKER_01: Obviously this one south side of Chicago It's the meaters of the town And if you go down there, you better just be well Many Mully rollin' brown Mamma Lee rolling on in trouble This leads man of six four but four All the downtown leaders call it tree top over all the man does call it rolling round Bettest man in the whole damn town Better than old King Carnegie Alright and then of course this one One of the greatest songs Great Song Or could you help me place this card See the number on the matchbook is old and faded Living in LA With my best old exprint break Guys just catch a new L and sometimes hated the wheel is let's go Let's forget all that And give me the number if you can't find it So I can call Just the tell him I'm finding the show I overcome the blow I learned to take it well I hold it with my word to just convince myself that it just wasn't real But that's not the way it feels And of course one of the another one of the greatest songs ever if I could save time in a bottle The first thing that I'd like to do is to save every day till eternity passes away just to spend them with you.
- 1:13:47SPEAKER_11: Alright, so uh I want to play a couple that are my favorite.
- 1:13:50SPEAKER_11: Well, here's one that we do.
- 1:13:53SPEAKER_11: You don't mess around with Jim.
- 1:13:55SPEAKER_11: Jim.
- 1:13:58SPEAKER_01: Up down got its hustlers, the Bowery got his bones.
- 1:14:03SPEAKER_11: We've done bad Leroy Brown before too, haven't we?
- 1:14:06SPEAKER_11: Maybe as a full band full band.
- 1:14:08SPEAKER_11: Maybe, yeah.
- 1:14:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he big and dumb as a man can come, but it's stronger than a country heart.
- 1:14:15SPEAKER_01: And when the bad boots all get together at night, you know they all go big gymbo, just because you don't touch on super man's paint.
- 1:14:26SPEAKER_01: You don't speak into the wind, you don't pull a man's car, but oh long range, or and you don't mess around with the gym by do.
- 1:14:35SPEAKER_11: I always like this one too.
- 1:14:38SPEAKER_11: Just one last set of footsteps.
- 1:14:44SPEAKER_01: We've been running away from Oh yeah.
- 1:14:47SPEAKER_01: Something we both know.
- 1:14:50SPEAKER_01: We've long run out of things Tuesday, and I think I've better go.
- 1:14:57SPEAKER_01: So don't be getting excited.
- 1:14:59SPEAKER_01: Oh, when you hear that slam on door, hold everyone instead of footsteps on your floor in the morning.
- 1:15:09SPEAKER_11: And then one of the greatest love songs I know is this one.
- 1:15:14SPEAKER_11: I'll have to say I love you in a song.
- 1:15:16SPEAKER_12: Oh yeah.
- 1:15:27SPEAKER_01: Well, I know it's gonna late.
- 1:15:39SPEAKER_01: I know you'd understand.
- 1:15:43SPEAKER_01: Every time I try to tell you, the words just came out wrong.
- 1:15:49SPEAKER_01: So I have to say I love you in a song.
- 1:15:54SPEAKER_11: Such a great song.
- 1:15:56SPEAKER_11: Uh and the last one I'll play is actually, if I look at this this um collection that I've got, it's uh Jim Croce uh Photographs and Memories, his greatest hits.
- 1:16:06SPEAKER_11: And I opened up the liner notes to see who wrote the songs.
- 1:16:08SPEAKER_11: He wrote all the songs on here, except one.
- 1:16:12SPEAKER_11: He had nothing to do with uh this song, which is called I Got a Name, uh, which is interesting to me because well, I'll let you hear it for a second.
- 1:16:24SPEAKER_01: Like the pine trees lining the winding road.
- 1:16:27SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah, I know the song.
- 1:16:28SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's a great song.
- 1:16:28SPEAKER_01: I Got A Name.
- 1:16:31SPEAKER_01: I Got A Name.
- 1:16:32SPEAKER_11: So on the evening of September 20th, 1973, during his Life and Times tour, which had been scheduled for 45 dates, and the day before this song came out, uh, at the age of 30, Jim Croce and five others were killed when their airplane crashed shortly after takeoff in Louisiana.
- 1:16:55SPEAKER_11: Um, let's see.
- 1:16:57SPEAKER_11: They were headed for Texas for a concert in Austin College.
- 1:17:02SPEAKER_11: An investigation by the NTSB identified the probable cause as the pilot's failure to see obstructions because of physical impairment and fog that had reduced his vision.
- 1:17:13SPEAKER_11: He suffered from severe coronary artery disease and had run three miles to the airport from a motel.
- 1:17:20SPEAKER_11: He had an ATP certificate.
- 1:17:22SPEAKER_11: Uh I don't know what that means.
- 1:17:24SPEAKER_11: Uh 14,000 hours total flight time and 2,000 hours in that type of airplane.
- 1:17:31SPEAKER_11: So they're blaming the pilot because he couldn't see and there was fog and everything.
- 1:17:36SPEAKER_11: But the day before this song came out.
- 1:17:39SPEAKER_13: Yeah, I was trying to remember how he died, and I forgot it was a plane crash.
- 1:17:42SPEAKER_11: It was a plane crash, yeah.
- 1:17:44SPEAKER_11: 30 years old.
- 1:17:45SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 1:17:45SPEAKER_11: Had the world before him.
- 1:17:46SPEAKER_13: Yeah, you imagine what he'd done if he'd lived.
- 1:17:48SPEAKER_13: Oh my word.
- 1:17:49SPEAKER_13: Oh man, he'd been even bigger.
- 1:17:51SPEAKER_13: Oh, yeah.
- 1:17:52SPEAKER_13: Even bigger.
- 1:17:53SPEAKER_11: I think so.
- 1:17:54SPEAKER_11: Uh, because I mean his stuff is so iconic.
- 1:17:58SPEAKER_11: Um I do fear, like uh they don't play it, uh they play it on Oli's radio, maybe.
- 1:18:02SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 1:18:03SPEAKER_11: Every once in a while.
- 1:18:04SPEAKER_11: Uh which how many people listen to that besides, you know, you and I and and older people.
- 1:18:09SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 1:18:09SPEAKER_11: Um, which is a shame because that that old music, you know, from the 60s and 70s is is where it's at.
- 1:18:17SPEAKER_11: So good.
- 1:18:17SPEAKER_11: It's really good.
- 1:18:18SPEAKER_11: Gordon Burton.
- 1:18:19SPEAKER_11: Uh so that is uh the Wall of Tunes for you.
- 1:18:21SPEAKER_11: And we had never done Jim Crochet.
- 1:18:22SPEAKER_11: We'd never done okay, you looked it up.
- 1:18:24SPEAKER_11: I did.
- 1:18:24SPEAKER_11: Nice.
- 1:18:25SPEAKER_11: Jim He is now in the list.
- 1:18:27SPEAKER_11: Some people say crochy.
- 1:18:28SPEAKER_11: Some people say crochet.
- 1:18:29SPEAKER_11: I usually say crochet.
- 1:18:30SPEAKER_11: Jim Crocey.
- 1:18:31SPEAKER_11: Jim Croce, yeah.
- 1:18:32SPEAKER_11: C-R-O-C-E.
- 1:18:33SPEAKER_13: Yeah.
- 1:18:34SPEAKER_11: I lump him in there with like, like you said, uh Harry Chapin.
- 1:18:36SPEAKER_11: Harry Chapin, James Taylor.
- 1:18:38SPEAKER_13: James Taylor, uh Kat Stevens.
- 1:18:41SPEAKER_13: Yeah.
- 1:18:41SPEAKER_13: Um Nielsen.
- 1:18:43SPEAKER_11: Uh Harry Harry Nielsen.
- 1:18:44SPEAKER_11: Harry Nielsen, yeah.
- 1:18:45SPEAKER_11: Yeah, Harry Nielsen.
- 1:18:46SPEAKER_11: Um I I I don't know what you would call that music.
- 1:18:49SPEAKER_11: I I said pop folk or folk pop.
- 1:18:52SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 1:18:52SPEAKER_11: You know.
- 1:18:53SPEAKER_11: Um definitely folky.
- 1:18:55SPEAKER_11: Singer-songwriter.
- 1:18:56SPEAKER_11: Yeah, definitely.
- 1:18:56SPEAKER_11: You know, that type of thing.
- 1:18:57SPEAKER_11: Dan Fogelberg kind of fits in there as well.
- 1:19:00SPEAKER_11: Um good stuff.
- 1:19:02SPEAKER_11: That's good music.
- 1:19:03SPEAKER_11: What is it?
- 1:19:03SPEAKER_11: Louis Armstrong said?
- 1:19:05SPEAKER_11: He said there's two kinds of music, good and bad.
- 1:19:08SPEAKER_13: Who said that?
- 1:19:08SPEAKER_11: I think it was Louis Armstrong, wasn't it?
- 1:19:10SPEAKER_13: I don't know.
- 1:19:11SPEAKER_13: I don't think I've ever heard of it.
- 1:19:12SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 1:19:13SPEAKER_11: There's two kinds of music, good and bad.
- 1:19:15SPEAKER_11: It doesn't matter what genre it is.
- 1:19:17SPEAKER_11: As long as it's you know good or bad.
- 1:19:21SPEAKER_11: I would say Jim Troy would be good.
- 1:19:24SPEAKER_11: Good and good in a good call.
- 1:19:26SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 1:19:27SPEAKER_11: Alright, that, my friends, is episode 275.
- 1:19:31SPEAKER_11: Bam! Bam! Done!
- 1:19:33SPEAKER_12: Done.
- 1:19:33SPEAKER_12: Next episode.
- 1:19:36SPEAKER_13: We're gonna do it right now.
- 1:19:37SPEAKER_13: No, we're gonna do it next week.
- 1:19:38SPEAKER_13: I know.
- 1:19:39SPEAKER_13: I gotta go.
- 1:19:41SPEAKER_13: I gotta pee.
