- 0:00Speaker 1: Oh, my God. The phone lines are blowing up right now.
- 0:03Speaker 1: So it's some behind-the-scenes stuff going on right now. Second
- 0:05Speaker 1: date update just happened. The guy said he was going
- 0:07Speaker 1: to put her on a GLP-1 while they're on a date.
- 0:09Speaker 2: 877-937-1047.
- 0:09Speaker 1: Was he out of... What's the word I'm looking for?
- 0:15Speaker 1: Out of pocket. Was he out of pocket by saying that? Yes.
- 0:18Speaker 1: And has that ever happened to you? But while... Well,
- 0:22Speaker 1: we're going to take your calls in a second. First, though,
- 0:24Speaker 1: big announcement with iHeart. Huge. We just played Zara Larson.
- 0:27Speaker 1: She's performing at our iHeart Radio Music Festival. Friday night
- 0:31Speaker 1: is sold out. Tickets on Saturday are still going fast.
- 0:34Speaker 1: You can get all the info at 1047kissfm. com slash festival.
- 0:39Speaker 1: You can buy tickets at axs.com. But we're making an
- 0:42Speaker 1: announcement of three new artists that are going to be performing. Ciara. Sweet.
- 0:56Speaker 3: If I remember, this CD, and I mean CD, Kyle
- 0:59Speaker 3: Lundfuck had on repeat for like a year and a half.
- 1:01Speaker 4: I love me some Ciara. I mean, who doesn't? And
- 1:04Speaker 4: the fact that Ciara and Zara Larson are both going
- 1:07Speaker 4: to be performing. You know the amount of booty shaking
- 1:09Speaker 4: that we're about to get? I am so excited.
- 1:12Speaker 1: At the festival, they always do weird crossovers and stuff
- 1:15Speaker 1: that's never happened before.
- 1:16Speaker 4: And Cardi B.
- 1:17Speaker 5: Come on.
- 1:17Speaker 1: Stop. And we added Stella Lefty. And Smashing Pumpkins. It's
- 1:38Speaker 1: freaking nuts.
- 1:38Speaker 3: That covers all the genres all at once right there.
- 1:43Speaker 1: Along with Benson Boone, Snoop Dogg, Goo Goo Dolls, Laney Wilson,
- 1:46Speaker 1: Kenny Chesney, Weezer. BTS, the iHeartRadio Music Festival. Tickets available
- 1:52Speaker 1: at AXS.com. Daisy, you're on the air. Second Aid Update,
- 1:57Speaker 1: your thoughts. Go ahead.
- 1:59Speaker 5: Okay, so in my personal opinion, so first of all,
- 2:04Speaker 5: he kind of was out of pocket. But second of all, if.
- 2:06Speaker 2: It was a me thing, I would say, sure, pay
- 2:09Speaker 2: for it. I'm broke, but I get it.
- 2:12Speaker 3: Like, pay for it.
- 2:13Speaker 2: I'm okay with it.
- 2:14Speaker 3: But he didn't offer that. He only offered a discount code.
- 2:17Speaker 5: Well, then shut your mouth. There we go.
- 2:22Speaker 3: There's a few problems there.
- 2:23Speaker 2: If you're going to put it on the table, then
- 2:25Speaker 2: offer it for me.
- 2:26Speaker 4: Other than that, don't comment on it.
- 2:29Speaker 3: I'm broke, not stupid, you know? She's like those people
- 2:32Speaker 3: that sell you the vitamin packages where it's like, use
- 2:34Speaker 3: my name at checkout. And then he gets points. So
- 2:37Speaker 3: he's just looking for customers.
- 2:40Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 2:40Speaker 5: I would now at this point just do it just
- 2:42Speaker 5: to spite him and use somebody else's pro rewards.
- 2:45Speaker 1: All right, Daisy. Thanks for calling in.
- 2:48Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 2:50Speaker 1: Have a great day. You too. We're going to play
- 2:52Speaker 1: Minute to Win It. We need a contestant.
- 2:55Speaker 5: 877-937-1047.
- 2:57Speaker 1: Some behind the scenes, just to give you a little
- 2:59Speaker 1: picture of what's going on here on this radio show
- 3:02Speaker 1: and how we always talk about being human and not
- 3:05Speaker 1: AI is our phone in the producer's room where Dylan
- 3:11Speaker 1: would be answering phones for some reason doesn't work. So
- 3:15Speaker 1: Dylan isn't here answering phones. So you're going to hear
- 3:18Speaker 1: her answer phones in the background while we're trying to
- 3:20Speaker 1: do a radio show.
- 3:21Speaker 5: Right?
- 3:22Speaker 1: So to play, you're going to hear her find a
- 3:23Speaker 1: contestant for Minute to Win It. We're not doing a telephone.
- 3:26Speaker 1: This is not one of those things where things are
- 3:27Speaker 1: going on behind us. It's just Dylan doing her gig.
- 3:30Speaker 1: 877-937-1047 to play Minute to Win It. Yeah, something's going
- 3:35Speaker 1: on in my throat. You had me last night. Get this.
- 3:37Speaker 1: So about a week ago, we had all that big
- 3:40Speaker 1: announcement about that reality show that's dropping with Kim Kardashian.
- 3:43Speaker 4: Team Moms.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Team Moms. I interviewed... Will, who it's his baseball team, right?
- 3:50Speaker 1: So the players on this baseball team, it's his team
- 3:53Speaker 1: he put together. And I interviewed Will and I remember
- 3:56Speaker 1: him talking about it. I interviewed him like a month
- 3:58Speaker 1: ago and he was telling me all about the show
- 3:59Speaker 1: and I came in here and told you guys about it.
- 4:01Speaker 1: So I took a clip and I put it on
- 4:02Speaker 1: my Instagram. I don't know if you guys saw it
- 4:03Speaker 1: or not. I did. And he talks about a lot
- 4:05Speaker 1: of stuff that happens behind the scenes.
- 4:07Speaker 5: Mm-hmm.
- 4:08Speaker 1: Paramount wants me to take it down.
- 4:10Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 4:10Speaker 1: Come on. Let's go.
- 4:12Speaker 4: Why do you always find yourself in these predicaments, Chuck?
- 4:16Speaker 3: This is everything you're looking for.
- 4:17Speaker 1: So Paramount told him for me to take down the post.
- 4:20Speaker 1: I haven't taken it down yet. Because I said to him,
- 4:23Speaker 1: I go, tell them I'll gladly take it down if
- 4:27Speaker 1: I can, A, get Kim Kardashian, Billy Bob Thornton, or anybody,
- 4:32Speaker 1: or Tyler Sheridan, or anybody from the cast of those movies,
- 4:34Speaker 1: those TV shows. Those are my favorite shows. They're all
- 4:35Speaker 1: on Paramount +.
- 4:36Speaker 4: Oh, my goodness. I feel like... Don't take it down
- 4:39Speaker 4: unless you get a personal cease and desist from lawyer
- 4:42Speaker 4: Kim Kardashian.
- 4:43Speaker 1: Oh, that'd be cool.
- 4:45Speaker 4: Kim Kardashian Esquire.
- 4:46Speaker 3: If you haven't seen it yet, go look at the
- 4:49Speaker 3: post before it gets, you know.
- 4:50Speaker 1: Taken down.
- 4:50Speaker 4: I was going to say that's low-key tease. So what
- 4:52Speaker 4: are you talking about with him that makes Paramount be like, okay, whoa, buddy.
- 4:56Speaker 1: Chill out. So you didn't see the clip?
- 4:58Speaker 4: No, I haven't seen it.
- 4:58Speaker 1: In the clip, he talks about three things that happened
- 5:01Speaker 1: during that show. They're not really spoilers, but maybe they are.
- 5:04Speaker 1: I guess so.
- 5:05Speaker 3: They must be.
- 5:05Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 5:05Speaker 1: I'm not going to say what they are, so you
- 5:06Speaker 1: got to go to look at it. It's on my
- 5:07Speaker 1: Instagram at JohnJVanS, and it's the third post that you
- 5:11Speaker 1: can see me It's the third.
- 5:13Speaker 3: It says Kim Kardashian in the screenshot. It didn't seem
- 5:17Speaker 3: like tea when I watched it, but I guess it
- 5:18Speaker 3: could be. For Paramount people, you don't want that out yet.
- 5:22Speaker 3: Big time tea, man. Big time tea. And I will
- 5:25Speaker 3: take it down if they ask me again, but I
- 5:27Speaker 3: don't want to get into the fight with Paramount.
- 5:28Speaker 4: But technically, they didn't ask you. They asked your friend
- 5:31Speaker 4: to ask you.
- 5:32Speaker 5: Right.
- 5:32Speaker 1: But also my friend, you know, he also owns Viola Wellness.
- 5:36Speaker 3: Got a discount code from him.
- 5:38Speaker 4: Did he seem impressed about it? Was he like, no,
- 5:41Speaker 4: I need you to take it down.
- 5:42Speaker 1: No, because he ended it with an LOL. Right. And
- 5:45Speaker 1: then he ended it with an LOL. And then I
- 5:48Speaker 1: went to his Instagram and he had posted in his stories.
- 5:52Speaker 3: It was still up.
- 5:53Speaker 1: Huh?
- 5:53Speaker 3: And it was still up when you looked at it
- 5:55Speaker 3: on his story.
- 5:55Speaker 1: Yeah. He told me. So I was like, okay, but
- 5:57Speaker 1: still paramount. So.
- 5:59Speaker 3: Anyway, interesting.
- 6:00Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm definitely going to go watch that. I want
- 6:04Speaker 4: to know what what the spoiler not spoilers are.
- 6:07Speaker 1: There's just a couple of them. And I think they're
- 6:09Speaker 1: really interesting because I think I think what it does,
- 6:11Speaker 1: it gives you a little behind the scenes of the
- 6:13Speaker 1: reality show because they kind of I don't want to
- 6:16Speaker 1: ruin it. But there's three things they talk about. He
- 6:19Speaker 1: talks about in the clip. And if you really dissect
- 6:21Speaker 1: it and pull back, you can see what the producers
- 6:24Speaker 1: are trying to do on this type of show.
- 6:26Speaker 4: Okay, how much involvement did Kim Kardashian actually have in
- 6:29Speaker 4: the show?
- 6:30Speaker 5: A lot.
- 6:31Speaker 1: A lot. That's all in the clip. You have to
- 6:32Speaker 1: see the clip. All right. Now, Dylan, we're going to
- 6:34Speaker 1: play a minute to win it. Who's our contestant? Renee. Okay,
- 6:37Speaker 1: let's see. Hey, Renee. Hello. What are you doing, Renee?
- 6:42Speaker 1: Where are you? What part of town?
- 6:44Speaker 4: I'm down in Gilbert waiting in line to drop off
- 6:47Speaker 4: my second son.
- 6:49Speaker 1: Okay.
- 6:50Speaker 5: All right.
- 6:50Speaker 1: You ready to play? Yes.
- 6:53Speaker 2: John Jay and Rich have $ 1, 000 cash for you from
- 6:56Speaker 2: Peoria Ford right now.
- 6:58Speaker 1: Minute to win it.
- 7:00Speaker 3: Okay, Renee, 60 seconds on the clock. Just nail all
- 7:03Speaker 3: 10 of these questions and you will win $ 1, 000. I
- 7:06Speaker 3: have so much faith in you. Shall we get after
- 7:09Speaker 3: it right now? Let's go. What pop star's real name
- 7:13Speaker 3: is Peter Gene Hernandez? Bruno Mars. What organ is responsible
- 7:20Speaker 3: for pumping blood throughout the human body?
- 7:23Speaker 4: The heart.
- 7:25Speaker 3: What sport is James Naismith credited with inventing?
- 7:28Speaker 5: Football.
- 7:31Speaker 1: Oh, no.
- 7:32Speaker 3: But playing basketball.
- 7:37Speaker 4: That was a tough one. Naismith. Sorry, Renee.
- 7:40Speaker 1: Sorry, Renee. That's so tough. Renee Russo.
- 7:43Speaker 4: That's such a hard question because I feel like you
- 7:45Speaker 4: don't know that unless you were like a basketball player.
- 7:49Speaker 5: Well, and I was, so that stinks.
- 7:54Speaker 3: You don't even know that you're a basketball player. It
- 7:56Speaker 3: seems that way, Renee.
- 7:58Speaker 1: All right, Renee, hold on.
- 7:59Speaker 4: I have NFL draft on the brain.
- 8:01Speaker 1: Makes sense. But hold on the line. Thanks for playing.
- 8:03Speaker 1: Hold on. Sorry about that. Speaking of basketball, I texted
- 8:07Speaker 1: Peyton yesterday. I texted Peyton yesterday at 1 o'clock and
- 8:10Speaker 1: she didn't respond to my text. Uh-oh. Uh-oh. I was
- 8:13Speaker 1: watching a show on Apple. It was a documentary on
- 8:16Speaker 1: UConn women's basketball. It's three episodes. It's three hours. I
- 8:19Speaker 1: watched all of it. It was so good. It was
- 8:22Speaker 1: so compelling. And I had no idea the talent that
- 8:25Speaker 1: came out of that school. And I fell in love
- 8:27Speaker 1: with the coach and I fell in love with all
- 8:30Speaker 1: these people. And I'm so bummed. Diana Taurosi has just
- 8:32Speaker 1: retired because I didn't know she went there and seeing her.
- 8:36Speaker 1: In college and in high school, I was like, my God,
- 8:38Speaker 1: this woman's amazing.
- 8:40Speaker 3: She's got to be something.
- 8:41Speaker 4: There's a reason that Diana Taurasi's jersey is in the rafters.
- 8:44Speaker 4: I mean, she played with Sue Bird. Maya Moore came
- 8:46Speaker 4: out of there. Paige Becker.
- 8:47Speaker 1: Sue Bird?
- 8:48Speaker 3: Yes, Sue Bird.
- 8:49Speaker 1: I mean, it was crazy.
- 8:50Speaker 4: Sue Bird and Diana Taurasi played together.
- 8:53Speaker 5: I know.
- 8:53Speaker 3: They won NAC.
- 8:54Speaker 4: Breonna Stewart, like, come on. This is like, I love this.
- 8:57Speaker 1: And then watching Paige. In fact, the documentary is three
- 9:00Speaker 1: episodes at the end of the documentary. Like this is
- 9:03Speaker 1: one of those shows where I'm watching, I pause it
- 9:04Speaker 1: and I Google, how many wins does he have? Cause
- 9:06Speaker 1: the guy's got like 13 fricking championships.
- 9:09Speaker 5: Right.
- 9:09Speaker 1: So I'm watching Paige Becker's is on it. And I'm like,
- 9:12Speaker 1: and it's building up all this anxiety. She got, she
- 9:15Speaker 1: tore ACL, she tore meniscus. And then like, she's a
- 9:18Speaker 1: star player. And then I got a pain in my stomach.
- 9:20Speaker 1: I paused it. I had to go Google, did she win?
- 9:23Speaker 1: And then I watched the rest of it. And at
- 9:24Speaker 1: the end, when she hugs the coach, I started crying.
- 9:26Speaker 5: I know.
- 9:27Speaker 4: When he's like, I love you.
- 9:28Speaker 3: And she's like, I hate you.
- 9:30Speaker 4: Because the relationship that Geno and Paige Beckers have together,
- 9:35Speaker 4: it's truly one of a kind. And Geno, he is
- 9:37Speaker 4: one of those coaches. He does not care. He is
- 9:39Speaker 4: going to tell you exactly how it is, especially if
- 9:41Speaker 4: you want to be great. UConn is one of those programs.
- 9:44Speaker 4: Geno won. He won like 160 games individually.
- 9:46Speaker 3: In a row.
- 9:48Speaker 1: In a row.
- 9:48Speaker 4: Like, that is no easy feat. And so it was
- 9:51Speaker 4: really fun because we got a look on page becker's
- 9:53Speaker 4: and az fudge relationship which has been huge for the
- 9:56Speaker 4: wmba and they're so and i you guys know me
- 9:58Speaker 4: i am like page becker's number one fan and doesn't
- 10:01Speaker 4: that documentary make you just love her yeah.
- 10:03Speaker 1: She's great i went to her tiktok and watch all
- 10:04Speaker 1: her dances i know she's awesome she it's like god
- 10:07Speaker 1: what the hell's wrong on microphone why is everything falling
- 10:08Speaker 1: apart in here phones and microphones anyway uh but speaking
- 10:12Speaker 1: of so that was all excited to watch the mercury
- 10:13Speaker 1: now the season's over No.
- 10:15Speaker 4: Well, it's playoff season in Mercury. Unfortunately, we didn't have
- 10:19Speaker 4: too good of a season, even though last year we
- 10:20Speaker 4: literally went to the finals. But Kelsey Plum, she is
- 10:23Speaker 4: actually playing tonight, which is going to be a huge
- 10:25Speaker 4: deal because she was one of the players who got
- 10:27Speaker 4: traded in free agency. And so we're hoping that she
- 10:30Speaker 4: wants to stay and that she re-signs with the Mercury.
- 10:32Speaker 3: For next season.
- 10:33Speaker 4: Bring it home. She is like a true, true point guard.
- 10:37Speaker 4: She went to University of Washington. She went to UW.
- 10:39Speaker 4: She is so talented, and she's exactly what the Phoenix
- 10:42Speaker 4: Mercury needed.
- 10:43Speaker 1: Well, I was very excited. And it's on Apple TV.
- 10:45Speaker 1: It's called Dynasty UConn. Dylan, who are we taking here?
- 10:48Speaker 1: Who's on line one? All right, take line five.
- 10:52Speaker 5: It's Noel.
- 10:52Speaker 1: Line five is Noel. Hi. Sorry, we're having some phone problems. Noel,
- 10:55Speaker 1: what's up? You're on the air.
- 10:55Speaker 5: Hi.
- 10:57Speaker 1: Hi, guys.
- 10:57Speaker 5: Thanks so much for having me on. I have the
- 11:00Speaker 5: worst DIY project you've ever seen. We'll ever hear.
- 11:02Speaker 1: Okay. Well, let me set this up.
- 11:05Speaker 5: Hold on, hold on, hold on.
- 11:06Speaker 1: Let me explain. When did we get into that? Was
- 11:08Speaker 1: that yesterday? Yesterday. Yeah, do-it-yourself project has gone wrong. Okay,
- 11:12Speaker 1: so go ahead. So what happened?
- 11:14Speaker 5: So it all started when we moved to a small
- 11:16Speaker 5: town in Nebraska for a job offer I got, and
- 11:19Speaker 5: we needed to build a house. We built a house
- 11:22Speaker 5: or had a house built, but when we moved in,
- 11:25Speaker 5: it would rain, and the rain would wash away the
- 11:27Speaker 5: dirt from all around this new built house. So my
- 11:31Speaker 5: husband and I took a look outside and we're like, okay,
- 11:33Speaker 5: if we build this retaining wall, it'll maybe be two
- 11:36Speaker 5: feet tall at most. We don't need a permit.
- 11:38Speaker 1: We could do that.
- 11:39Speaker 5: Let's totally do it. We priced out the materials. We
- 11:43Speaker 5: decided to drive 45 minutes to the nearest hardware store.
- 11:47Speaker 5: And we bought all of the stuff we needed with
- 11:49Speaker 5: our one drill with a rechargeable battery. And so we
- 11:53Speaker 5: started building. And we started in May. And about a
- 11:57Speaker 5: month in, we started adding more and more layers because
- 12:01Speaker 5: somehow it needed to be higher and higher. And so
- 12:05Speaker 5: about eight layers of lumber later, our retaining wall ended
- 12:09Speaker 5: up being over 10 feet tall. We broke the law
- 12:12Speaker 5: and didn't have a permit to keep building. We didn't
- 12:15Speaker 5: know anything about retaining walls. So there was no drainage
- 12:18Speaker 5: behind the retaining wall. We didn't know where to properly
- 12:21Speaker 5: put screws for this retaining wall. And literally, we had
- 12:26Speaker 5: a fine from the town because we built this wall.
- 12:29Speaker 5: We were over $ 5, 500 in materials. We now have a
- 12:34Speaker 5: collection of over 10 different drills that we bought to
- 12:37Speaker 5: try and get through the project. Endless mashed fingers. And
- 12:41Speaker 5: basically at the end of it, water was pouring like
- 12:43Speaker 5: through the back of the retaining wall and through the
- 12:46Speaker 5: lumber out into the neighbor's field, ruining their whole field.
- 12:49Speaker 5: So we ended up having to sell the house and
- 12:53Speaker 5: we moved back to Colorado.
- 12:55Speaker 1: So did the place look like a prison with 10
- 12:58Speaker 1: feet walls?
- 13:00Speaker 2: I mean, kind of.
- 13:02Speaker 5: Somebody that came out to help us like backfill the
- 13:04Speaker 5: dirt after we built it said that literally had a
- 13:07Speaker 5: construction company built this wall. It would have been like
- 13:10Speaker 5: a $ 90, 000 retaining wall. And we DIY'd it as best
- 13:14Speaker 5: as we could. And it looked pretty amazing. It just
- 13:17Speaker 5: wasn't a good, efficient retaining wall.
- 13:19Speaker 3: You just completely destroyed your neighbor's property.
- 13:21Speaker 1: Yeah, that is a great one. Basically.
- 13:23Speaker 5: So I'm no longer allowed to DIY. And we have
- 13:26Speaker 5: some projects that I look over at my husband.
- 13:28Speaker 2: And kind of go, maybe if.
- 13:29Speaker 1: We do this.
- 13:30Speaker 5: And I just get a head nod. So I'm not
- 13:32Speaker 5: allowed to DIY it.
- 13:33Speaker 1: I'll tell you what, though.
- 13:34Speaker 3: A man with 10 power drills, that's a cool thing.
- 13:37Speaker 3: You get cool points from me.
- 13:38Speaker 2: Right?
- 13:38Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 13:39Speaker 1: All right, Noel. Thanks for sharing that story. I'm glad.
- 13:41Speaker 1: Thank you. Thank you for listening.
- 13:43Speaker 5: Thanks.
- 13:44Speaker 1: That's so great. Again, if you're just tuning in, the
- 13:47Speaker 1: phones in our producer's room don't work. So Dylan is
- 13:51Speaker 1: in here answering phones. So Dylan, who's on line one? Isaiah. Isaiah. Okay. Isaiah,
- 13:57Speaker 1: I believe you're calling about animals, right? Because we were
- 14:00Speaker 1: getting into animals.
- 14:00Speaker 2: Okay.
- 14:02Speaker 1: What's your story, Isaiah?
- 14:04Speaker 2: So I'm moving from Phoenix. I'm moving across the country.
- 14:07Speaker 2: And along the way, I'm like, oh, I'm going to
- 14:08Speaker 2: stop in Colorado, visit my cousin who lives out there.
- 14:11Speaker 2: And she's a river guide in Colorado. And so she
- 14:13Speaker 2: doesn't actually have a house. She lives in one of
- 14:16Speaker 2: the buses that they use to gut it out to
- 14:19Speaker 2: take passengers to the river. And we were out super
- 14:22Speaker 2: late last night, and I was going to leave early
- 14:25Speaker 2: in the morning. And so we said goodbye. And so
- 14:29Speaker 2: she's like, hey, you can sleep in the bus, and
- 14:32Speaker 2: I'll sleep in my car. And I'm like, cool. So
- 14:34Speaker 2: around 1230, 1 a.m., I hear some ruffling in the
- 14:39Speaker 2: bus because they have like a little kitchenette and I'm
- 14:41Speaker 2: sleeping on the couch in the back and there's like
- 14:42Speaker 2: a little kitchenette in the front. And I hear some
- 14:44Speaker 2: ruffling around and she didn't say anything, but she's making
- 14:47Speaker 2: tons of noise. And so I'm like, I'm going to
- 14:49Speaker 2: scare her with my phone flashlight. And so I turn
- 14:53Speaker 2: my phone flashlight on. And I'm not making this up.
- 14:56Speaker 2: I'm not joking. I see a freaking black bear in
- 14:59Speaker 2: the front of the bus. And I'm like, oh, my gosh.
- 15:05Speaker 2: I turn the light off. I'm like, is it going
- 15:06Speaker 2: to charge me? I don't know what's going to happen.
- 15:08Speaker 2: I like quickly try and put my shoes on and
- 15:11Speaker 2: I'm going to try and open the back door of
- 15:12Speaker 2: the bus. But it's stuck. So I'm like, I don't
- 15:15Speaker 2: know what to do. And there's no way that I
- 15:17Speaker 2: can take a freaking bear on. And so it's still
- 15:20Speaker 2: making a bunch of noise in the front of the bus.
- 15:23Speaker 2: And so I'm like, all right, I'm going to turn
- 15:24Speaker 2: the light on again. And I turn the light on again,
- 15:27Speaker 2: and I'm not even joking. The bear's head turns, and
- 15:29Speaker 2: I just see the two little beady eyes staring at me.
- 15:32Speaker 2: And I'm already 6'1. I'm not even joking. This thing
- 15:36Speaker 2: is at least 7 feet tall. Its head is touching
- 15:39Speaker 2: the top.
- 15:39Speaker 1: Of the bus.
- 15:40Speaker 2: And luckily, when I turned the light on the second time,
- 15:42Speaker 2: it scurried out the door of the front of the bus.
- 15:45Speaker 3: I'm like, oh, my.
- 15:46Speaker 2: What just happened? It's freaking midnight and I'm in a
- 15:50Speaker 2: freaking bus with a freaking black bear.
- 15:54Speaker 3: You were so lucky that that went where the bear
- 15:57Speaker 3: didn't find what it was looking for.
- 15:58Speaker 1: Seriously. Yeah, dude.
- 16:02Speaker 2: I had no idea which is, you know, that's why
- 16:05Speaker 2: I ended up at Denny's at 1 a.m. this morning
- 16:08Speaker 2: because I'm like, I clearly can't go.
- 16:09Speaker 1: Back to sleep. So this is now. This is now.
- 16:13Speaker 1: This happened today, this morning.
- 16:15Speaker 2: Yeah, I haven't slept in it.
- 16:18Speaker 1: And when you left, did you go to your cousin
- 16:20Speaker 1: and say there was a bear in the bus?
- 16:23Speaker 2: So what I did is I waited like 20 minutes
- 16:25Speaker 2: in the bus, and I was looking out the windows.
- 16:26Speaker 2: I'm like, okay, I don't see it. I don't know
- 16:27Speaker 2: if it has like cubs or something with it. And
- 16:29Speaker 2: so I have a Tesla, and so I flashed the
- 16:31Speaker 2: lights on my car, and I was looking at the camera,
- 16:33Speaker 2: and I'm like, okay, there's no activity around my car.
- 16:36Speaker 2: So I waited like 20 minutes, and I just freaking
- 16:38Speaker 2: bolted to my car. And, of course, she's sleeping in
- 16:40Speaker 2: her car on a different side of the property, so
- 16:42Speaker 2: she has no idea this happened. So I freaking bulked
- 16:45Speaker 2: to my car and that's when I freaking drive to
- 16:48Speaker 2: Denny's because that was the only thing that was open.
- 16:50Speaker 3: No, Denny's is safe for you.
- 16:51Speaker 1: What about, since you were flashing a light, did you
- 16:53Speaker 1: get a picture or video of the bear?
- 16:56Speaker 2: No, I didn't. No.
- 16:57Speaker 1: I know your life was on the line. I got
- 16:59Speaker 1: to tell you though, when you say bus, is it
- 17:02Speaker 1: a school bus? What kind of bus is it? I'm
- 17:04Speaker 1: trying to get a visual.
- 17:06Speaker 2: Have you ever been like Salt River tubing? Like one
- 17:09Speaker 2: of those giant buses? Like it's one of those really
- 17:11Speaker 2: big buses. But like it was a couch. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 17:15Speaker 4: Like a charter bus.
- 17:16Speaker 5: Wow.
- 17:16Speaker 1: So you're right there. Yeah. I mean, I don't know. Like,
- 17:19Speaker 1: if you put yourself in that situation, I don't know
- 17:21Speaker 1: if I would have flashed the flashlight the second time.
- 17:24Speaker 1: I think I would have just curled up and prayed
- 17:26Speaker 1: to God that the bear leaves. I don't think I
- 17:27Speaker 1: would have been able to.
- 17:28Speaker 3: You've got to try something.
- 17:29Speaker 2: You know, because, like, I thought she was opening the
- 17:33Speaker 2: door to the bus. And I'm like, okay, it's my cousin, whatever. But, again,
- 17:36Speaker 2: she was making so much noise. And so, like, that's
- 17:37Speaker 2: when I finally woke up. And so when I did
- 17:39Speaker 2: it the first time, I didn't even realize what was
- 17:40Speaker 2: going on until after a couple of seconds because I
- 17:42Speaker 2: had just woken up. And I'm like, oh, dear Lord,
- 17:45Speaker 2: am I dreaming? Like, we thought about taking mushrooms, but
- 17:48Speaker 2: we didn't take any mushrooms.
- 17:51Speaker 3: I mean, I can tell by how fast you're talking
- 17:53Speaker 3: that your heart is still flying out of your chest.
- 17:56Speaker 1: Wow, what a story, man.
- 17:58Speaker 3: And that just happened.
- 17:59Speaker 5: What a story. Woo, Isaac.
- 18:00Speaker 2: It happened like thousands ago. I'm like, I'm thankful to
- 18:04Speaker 2: the Lord that I'm still alive. Like, legit, I had
- 18:06Speaker 2: no idea what I was doing. A seven-foot bear.
- 18:10Speaker 3: Who knew that the iPhone flashlight would save you? You
- 18:12Speaker 3: need to get that to the Apple people so you
- 18:14Speaker 3: can get a commercial.
- 18:15Speaker 1: So where are you off to now?
- 18:17Speaker 2: So I'm driving to Florida. That's actually where I got
- 18:20Speaker 2: my new job at. So I'm, yeah, I'm a month away.
- 18:25Speaker 1: I don't think there's a lot of bears there. You
- 18:26Speaker 1: just got to deal with alligators.
- 18:28Speaker 3: Yeah, that's no fun either.
- 18:28Speaker 1: All right, Isaiah. Well, good luck and thanks for listening.
- 18:31Speaker 1: Keep listening. We really appreciate you for calling in. What
- 18:33Speaker 1: a story, man.
- 18:35Speaker 2: Thank you, guys.
- 18:36Speaker 1: What a story.
- 18:37Speaker 3: You also may want to give your cousin a heads up.
- 18:38Speaker 1: No, literally. Just call her.
- 18:40Speaker 3: She's at Denny's.
- 18:41Speaker 1: He's fine.
- 18:42Speaker 3: He's having a grand slam. She's still sleeping.
