- 0:01Speaker 1: You're listening to Hawk Talk with former Seahawks wide receiver
- 0:04Speaker 1: Michael Bumpus.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Playfake, go to roll right, dumps it off into the
- 0:08Speaker 2: right flass to Michael Bumpers, who bounce us off. A
- 0:10Speaker 2: one tackler gets inside the forty down of the thirty.
- 0:13Speaker 1: Five yard line. Powered by Seahawks dot Com.
- 0:15Speaker 2: Matt pumpfake's looking at the god line. He throws it
- 0:18Speaker 2: into the end zone.
- 0:19Speaker 1: Touchdown, Say Hawks, it's Michael Bumps with a diving catching
- 0:23Speaker 1: the end zone.
- 0:24Speaker 2: A ten yard touchdown reception for Bumpers, and the kid
- 0:27Speaker 2: out of Washington State has found himself a place on
- 0:30Speaker 2: this team.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Now here's your host, NASA Jobie.
- 0:35Speaker 3: Wasn't the afternoon the Seahawks wanted down there in LA.
- 0:37Speaker 3: As the Seahawks fall to the Rams seventeen to sixteen,
- 0:41Speaker 3: A lot of missed opportunities, a lot of chances for
- 0:44Speaker 3: the Seahawks to get that win in LA didn't go
- 0:46Speaker 3: their way.
- 0:48Speaker 4: Luckily for us.
- 0:49Speaker 3: It's a short week, so we're not gonna spend too
- 0:50Speaker 3: much time on the Rams because you know how it goes.
- 0:53Speaker 3: I got to get over it. The San Francisco forty
- 0:54Speaker 3: nine ers are rolling into town. On Thanksgiving Day, but
- 0:57Speaker 3: we got to spend a little time on it.
- 0:59Speaker 4: So it's jump in what had happened?
- 1:01Speaker 2: See what happened at first happen what happened was what
- 1:05Speaker 2: that happened.
- 1:06Speaker 3: Was unhawked talk man, Bump these Rams, man, they never
- 1:11Speaker 3: make it.
- 1:12Speaker 4: Easy on the Seahawks.
- 1:14Speaker 3: Nah, don't matter who's at QB, who's the head coach,
- 1:17Speaker 3: where the games then played. They give the Seahawks problems
- 1:20Speaker 3: and they have and you know Sunday was no different.
- 1:22Speaker 4: And the game actually started out like you wanted to. Right.
- 1:25Speaker 3: The Hawks are forced to three and out on the
- 1:27Speaker 3: opening possession and then respond with the longest drive of
- 1:30Speaker 3: the season fourteen plays eighty eight yards, ending with an
- 1:33Speaker 3: eight yard touchdown to DK Metcalf that made the score
- 1:35Speaker 3: seven nothing. Then the Seahawks defense would step up on
- 1:38Speaker 3: the next drive, stopping the Rams on fourth down in
- 1:40Speaker 3: the red zone.
- 1:41Speaker 4: That snapped their.
- 1:42Speaker 3: Streak of fifty two consecutive red zone drives with a
- 1:46Speaker 3: points scored streak. So bump, the game started the way
- 1:49Speaker 3: the Seahawks hoped it would for sure.
- 1:51Speaker 5: Yeah, started off good man, you got their longest drive.
- 1:53Speaker 5: Then you snap a streak, You're like all right, let's go,
- 1:55Speaker 5: and they get the ball again. They come back to
- 1:57Speaker 5: go fifteen plays and say, you know what, this is
- 1:59Speaker 5: the longest drive when it comes to plays now sixty
- 2:02Speaker 5: two yards, ending with the field goal that made the
- 2:04Speaker 5: score ten to zero. The Hawks will force it three
- 2:07Speaker 5: and now and then respond with another field goal, taking
- 2:10Speaker 5: it to thirteen to zero. Staffing in the Rams to
- 2:13Speaker 5: get things going, they go nine plays seventy five yards
- 2:15Speaker 5: or the four down touchdown to Pooka the Coua. The
- 2:18Speaker 5: Hawks would go into the half thirteen to seven. Sounds familiar, don' it?
- 2:21Speaker 5: Going to the halftime against Rams thirteen and seven? All right,
- 2:24Speaker 5: I'm saying, let's not repeat what happened week one. Let's
- 2:26Speaker 5: make the second half. I'm a bit better. Unfortunately, the
- 2:30Speaker 5: Hawks second half will go on the same direction did
- 2:33Speaker 5: the first time around. The Hawks wouldn't get shut out
- 2:36Speaker 5: this time, but they're only able to score three second
- 2:39Speaker 5: half points. To make matters worse, Aaron Donalds smacks Gino,
- 2:43Speaker 5: hits his elbow, everyone's tripping.
- 2:45Speaker 4: He's gonna be okay.
- 2:46Speaker 5: Drew Lock comes in, he goes two for six, three
- 2:49Speaker 5: yards in an interception, but the Hawks still had a
- 2:51Speaker 5: chance to win the game.
- 2:52Speaker 3: The Rams will score ten fourth quarter points, taking the
- 2:54Speaker 3: league seventeen to sixteen, giving the Seahawks the ball back
- 2:57Speaker 3: with one thirty one left in the game. Gino he
- 3:00Speaker 3: would have got through pain, being a soldier that Gino is.
- 3:03Speaker 3: Return to the football game, have a couple of big
- 3:05Speaker 3: completions at Tyer Locke and dk Metcalf, setting up an
- 3:08Speaker 3: opportunity for the game winning field goal. Unfortunately, Jason Myers
- 3:12Speaker 3: was missed a fifty fifty five yard field goal and.
- 3:14Speaker 4: The Rams would hold on for the victory. It was
- 3:17Speaker 4: tough bump.
- 3:18Speaker 3: There's been a lot of discussion about how the end
- 3:20Speaker 3: of that game went down, but listening to Pete and
- 3:22Speaker 3: listening to Gino talk about it, whether miscommunication, the headset,
- 3:25Speaker 3: whatever happened, they got themselves in position to win the game.
- 3:28Speaker 3: They would have liked to execute a little bit differently.
- 3:30Speaker 3: The run play doesn't get what they want, and hope
- 3:32Speaker 3: they would have blocked it better. But either way, it's
- 3:34Speaker 3: a bummer for the Hawks as that was a game
- 3:36Speaker 3: they really felt like they should have won. They outgained
- 3:38Speaker 3: the Rams in yards and one time in possession. However,
- 3:41Speaker 3: the Seahawks were killed by penalties thirteen penalties one hundred
- 3:44Speaker 3: and thirty yards.
- 3:47Speaker 4: Disappointing, but it is what it is. Bump.
- 3:50Speaker 3: Let's figure out who made some plays to playmakers? Ho wait.
- 4:05Speaker 4: All right?
- 4:05Speaker 5: Man Gino Smith had a decent day twenty two or
- 4:08Speaker 5: thirty four for two to thirty three and one touchdown,
- 4:11Speaker 5: zero turnovers.
- 4:12Speaker 4: Man, he did get hit hard.
- 4:14Speaker 5: Aaron Donald got behind the line of scrimmage and it
- 4:17Speaker 5: hit him.
- 4:17Speaker 4: Bruises elbows byasthing. It was all bad.
- 4:20Speaker 5: They're rubbing on him trying to make sure that that
- 4:22Speaker 5: thing is lose. You're trying to see if he's going
- 4:23Speaker 5: to be able to come back and play. And he
- 4:25Speaker 5: did exactly that.
- 4:26Speaker 4: Man.
- 4:26Speaker 5: In the fourth quarter, he goes on a seven play
- 4:28Speaker 5: thirty eight yard drive and set up the game winning
- 4:31Speaker 5: field goal, but just wasn't able to do with man
- 4:34Speaker 5: Myers pushed a little bit to the right. That would
- 4:35Speaker 5: have been his fourteenth game winning field goal and the
- 4:39Speaker 5: guy who set this up, dk metcalf Man he caught it.
- 4:41Speaker 5: What a twenty one yard yard game to set up
- 4:45Speaker 5: this field goal. He had five receptions ninety four yards,
- 4:48Speaker 5: one touchdown touchdown. Moved him into fifth place on the
- 4:50Speaker 5: Seahawks all time receiving touchdown list with thirty eight. That
- 4:54Speaker 5: touchdown also moved him at the first place for the
- 4:56Speaker 5: most receiving touchdowns in the player's first five seasons in
- 4:59Speaker 5: franchise history. His ninety four yards moved in the six
- 5:02Speaker 5: plays on Seattle's all time receiving yards list with four thousand,
- 5:05Speaker 5: eight hundred and sixty four yards.
- 5:07Speaker 4: Man DK.
- 5:11Speaker 3: That's the crazy thing about him is continuing to just
- 5:14Speaker 3: move up and down the record books like his other
- 5:16Speaker 3: receiver friend. And what I love about that too, Bomb
- 5:19Speaker 3: is the two consecutive games where he gave them an
- 5:22Speaker 3: opportunity late right yep against the Commanders. Obviously didn't work
- 5:25Speaker 3: out the same way did But I love what we're
- 5:27Speaker 3: seeing from him. And then you got the Hall of
- 5:29Speaker 3: Famer Bobby Wagner, mister Steady. Ten tackles, one TfL. Bobby
- 5:34Speaker 3: is now the third player in NFL history to have
- 5:36Speaker 3: twelve consecutive seasons with one hundred tackles, joining London Fletcher
- 5:40Speaker 3: and Derek Brooks. In a little cool fact, last week,
- 5:43Speaker 3: London Fletcher was on the broadcast and got to catch
- 5:45Speaker 3: up with Bobby pregame, so they kind of had a
- 5:47Speaker 3: little conversation about that. So definitely a cool milestone for
- 5:50Speaker 3: Bobby to hit, and that just shows you consistency man
- 5:53Speaker 3: to do that twelve years in a row, over one
- 5:54Speaker 3: hundred tackles. Bobby Wagner is going to be in a
- 5:57Speaker 3: Hall of Fame jacket very soon, as soon as he's eligible.
- 6:01Speaker 5: Yeah, London Fletcher, Derrick Brooks OG's I grew watching these
- 6:04Speaker 5: dudes play, man, so you mentioned with them, You're in
- 6:07Speaker 5: good company. Tyler Lockett had a game five receptions for
- 6:10Speaker 5: fifty one. He passed Brian Blaze for second place on
- 6:13Speaker 5: Seattle's all time reception list with five eighty four. He
- 6:15Speaker 5: also passed Blades for second place on Seattle's all time
- 6:18Speaker 5: receiving yards list with seven six hundred and forty five. Man,
- 6:22Speaker 5: we had a couple of dbs who did their thing
- 6:25Speaker 5: as well. Devin Witherspoon had eight tackles, five solo, one sack,
- 6:28Speaker 5: one CFL one pass defenite, and one quarterback hit.
- 6:31Speaker 4: It's a hell of a day.
- 6:32Speaker 3: That's a hell of a day because he's consistent. I mean,
- 6:35Speaker 3: he's got to be defensive player of the year, right
- 6:37Speaker 3: or Rookie of the Year.
- 6:38Speaker 4: Has to be honest. See.
- 6:39Speaker 5: I mean, I've seen a list with Carter in front
- 6:42Speaker 5: of him, right, But I mean it's debatable.
- 6:46Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, I guess you can't go wrong there.
- 6:48Speaker 3: I guess we're just a little biased. But we see
- 6:49Speaker 3: him make plays each and every Sunday, So definitely love that.
- 6:52Speaker 3: Another guy that's come on of late Rick Riek Wooling.
- 6:55Speaker 3: You know, he's definitely started the season a little injured,
- 6:58Speaker 3: but the last couple of games and playing good. Three tackles,
- 7:00Speaker 3: two passes defended, one interception, So I love what I'm
- 7:04Speaker 3: seeing from him and the way that we're playing in
- 7:07Speaker 3: the secondary bunp between Reek Trey and Devin Witherspoon, they're
- 7:11Speaker 3: locking guys down. They're locking guys down, and that gives
- 7:14Speaker 3: me confidence moving forward, especially they're gonna need it with
- 7:16Speaker 3: a team that's coming up. But I like how they're
- 7:19Speaker 3: playing because it gives them flexibility in the back end.
- 7:21Speaker 3: I think they can get really give you some really
- 7:23Speaker 3: good stuff back there.
- 7:25Speaker 4: But like we mentioned it, we're not gonna spend too
- 7:26Speaker 4: much time on the rams.
- 7:27Speaker 3: We're turning the page because Thanksgiving Day is coming and
- 7:30Speaker 3: the Seahawks have one tough opponent, the San Francisco forty
- 7:34Speaker 3: nine ers.
- 7:35Speaker 4: What's on tap?
- 7:39Speaker 1: What's on tap?
- 7:41Speaker 4: Those forty nine.
- 7:42Speaker 3: Ers seven and three first place in the NFC West.
- 7:45Speaker 3: They got wins over Pittsburgh, La, New York, Arizona, and Dallas.
- 7:50Speaker 3: Then they went on a three game losing streak, losing
- 7:52Speaker 3: to the Browns, Vikings in Bengals, but then wrapped it
- 7:55Speaker 3: up with the last two weeks wins over the Jaguars
- 7:58Speaker 3: in the Tampa Bay Buck they're playing good football, bump
- 8:02Speaker 3: they are.
- 8:03Speaker 4: They're a little bit hard to read, but all you know.
- 8:06Speaker 3: Is they are so stacked and they have so many
- 8:08Speaker 3: dudes at all these different positions. And it was no
- 8:11Speaker 3: different this past Sunday when they took on the Bucks.
- 8:13Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 8:13Speaker 5: Man, the game was competitive too, man. That was what
- 8:16Speaker 5: thirteen to seven going into the half the Niners reugh.
- 8:20Speaker 5: The second half was all Niners, man. They jumped to
- 8:22Speaker 5: twenty seven to seven league in the fourth. When the
- 8:24Speaker 5: Bucks tried to make a competitive score a touchdown at
- 8:26Speaker 5: the beginning of the fourth and driving down to the
- 8:28Speaker 5: Niners nine yard aligned with three minutes level, back of
- 8:30Speaker 5: Mayfield did what he does intercepted in the end zone,
- 8:34Speaker 5: ending their comeback. Now the forty nine ers hold on
- 8:37Speaker 5: twenty seven to fourteen to get that debut. Rock Party
- 8:41Speaker 5: had a good day twenty one to twenty five for
- 8:43Speaker 5: three hundred thirty three yards and three touchdowns, no interceptions.
- 8:46Speaker 5: He finished the game with a perfect one to fifty
- 8:48Speaker 5: eight point three QB rating. My boy asked me, how
- 8:53Speaker 5: does someone get a perfect ratio?
- 8:55Speaker 4: I go, I don't know. I don't know the equation.
- 8:56Speaker 5: But Rock Party had a perfect quarterback George kittlem He
- 9:02Speaker 5: had a day eight catches, eighty nine yards, one touchdown.
- 9:04Speaker 5: McCaffrey had one hundred and three total yards in a touchdown.
- 9:07Speaker 5: Fred Warner total tackles, two passes defended, in a half sack.
- 9:10Speaker 5: The only bad news, man, is Hufunga, their Pro Bowl safety,
- 9:13Speaker 5: went down with a tour in ac. I know we're
- 9:15Speaker 5: playing him, I know the rivals, but you hate to
- 9:17Speaker 5: see it. Prayers go up to a FUNA.
- 9:20Speaker 4: Yeah, man, I like watching him play.
- 9:21Speaker 3: He's a very instinctive, will come up and hitch you
- 9:24Speaker 3: make plays on the football. So too bad for him
- 9:26Speaker 3: that he's gonna miss the rest of the season. But
- 9:29Speaker 3: I think they got a couple other guys on defense,
- 9:31Speaker 3: so I think they will be okay. But these are
- 9:34Speaker 3: the rivals. You know him, you see him twice a year,
- 9:36Speaker 3: every single year. Let's know the history.
- 9:38Speaker 1: No your history.
- 9:41Speaker 3: Seahawks lead all time series twenty nine to nineteen in
- 9:44Speaker 3: the regular season, and those matchups are tied at one
- 9:46Speaker 3: to one in the postseason, which is a good segue
- 9:49Speaker 3: because their last meeting, the Seahawks lost forty one to
- 9:52Speaker 3: twenty three in the wildcard playoffs man and the game
- 9:55Speaker 3: was closer than the final score indicated. The whole pregame
- 9:58Speaker 3: show was down there in Santa Clara, and this game
- 10:00Speaker 3: could have got ugly.
- 10:01Speaker 4: Early.
- 10:02Speaker 3: The Seahawks fell up behind ten zero, looked like they
- 10:04Speaker 3: might get boat raced. They respawned, though Gino Smith, like
- 10:07Speaker 3: he did all last season, let us on a fourteen
- 10:08Speaker 3: play seventy eight yard drive ending with a seven yard
- 10:11Speaker 3: touchdown to Ken Walker, making the score ten to seven.
- 10:14Speaker 4: The forty nine Ers.
- 10:14Speaker 3: Would add to the lead with another Robbie goldfield goal,
- 10:17Speaker 3: which made the score thirteen to seven, but of course,
- 10:20Speaker 3: once again the Seahawks respawn. Gino Smith hooks up with
- 10:24Speaker 3: DK Metcalf for a fifty yard touchdown. The Seahawks would
- 10:26Speaker 3: take the lead fourteen to thirteen, and if you had
- 10:29Speaker 3: a NASA cam during that in the booth, I was
- 10:32Speaker 3: losing my mind because I'm like, Yo, these guys got
- 10:34Speaker 3: a chance, So this is gonna be one of the
- 10:36Speaker 3: best wins in the Seahawks history.
- 10:38Speaker 4: That wasn't the case.
- 10:39Speaker 3: Niners wouldd another field goal and then the Seahawks Jason
- 10:42Speaker 3: Myers would connect on a fifty six yarder and the
- 10:44Speaker 3: Seahawks win at halftime up seventeen to sixteen. You felt good.
- 10:48Speaker 3: You felt like he had a chance. You felt like
- 10:49Speaker 3: they were about to shock the world. Unfortunately, the Diners
- 10:52Speaker 3: would take the opening possession in the second half, march
- 10:54Speaker 3: right down the field score touchdown, making the score twenty
- 10:57Speaker 3: three to seventeen, and the Seahawks would try to respond,
- 11:00Speaker 3: getting into the red zone, but then Geno Smith fumbled, sack,
- 11:03Speaker 3: fun Will gets hit from behind. There was a couple
- 11:04Speaker 3: of weird penalties that led into that, and then from
- 11:06Speaker 3: then on it was all in forty nine Ers. They'd
- 11:08Speaker 3: score the next seventeen points en route to their forty
- 11:11Speaker 3: one to twenty three victory. That was their third win
- 11:14Speaker 3: over the Seahawks in twenty twenty two, so definitely trying
- 11:18Speaker 3: to change the tide in that matchup. Very very very
- 11:21Speaker 3: different Seahawks team, especially on defense. So definitely looking forward
- 11:25Speaker 3: to this matchup. But let's check in on the rest
- 11:27Speaker 3: of the teams in the NFC West.
- 11:28Speaker 4: What's the word? What the Seahawks or the NFC West Champs? Again,
- 11:37Speaker 4: what's the word in the West? On Hawk Talk.
- 11:43Speaker 5: Man, Hawks had an opportunity could have been knotted up
- 11:45Speaker 5: still in the division instead of San Francisco's up top
- 11:49Speaker 5: seven to three. Seattle is six and four, the Rams
- 11:52Speaker 5: four and six, and the Cardinals are two and nine.
- 11:55Speaker 5: The Seals will play the forty nine Ers twice in
- 11:57Speaker 5: three weeks, and well know a lot a lot about
- 12:01Speaker 5: these teams in playoff implications here pretty soon.
- 12:02Speaker 4: But let's talk about the Cardinals.
- 12:04Speaker 5: In the Texas Man, the Cardinals made an interesting leg
- 12:06Speaker 5: but eventually fell to the Texans twenty one to sixteen
- 12:10Speaker 5: in Houston. The Texas Man, they're a real surprising team.
- 12:13Speaker 5: I it did not expect this out of the Texans.
- 12:16Speaker 5: They doubled their win total from last season. They've won
- 12:19Speaker 5: three games in a row for the first time since
- 12:21Speaker 5: a nine game winn streak in twenty eighteen. The Texans
- 12:24Speaker 5: jumped out to a twenty one to ten lead at
- 12:26Speaker 5: the half, but will not score again in the second half.
- 12:28Speaker 4: The rookie sensation c J.
- 12:30Speaker 5: Stroud threw for three thirty six and two touchdowns, but
- 12:33Speaker 5: was intercepted three times. Houston didn't score after halftime, and
- 12:37Speaker 5: Strout was picked off on consecutive drives in the fourth.
- 12:39Speaker 5: He had thrown his two interceptions in his first nine games.
- 12:43Speaker 5: He started to look like a rookie every now and then,
- 12:44Speaker 5: but he's still a baller. Stroud joined Joe Burrow as
- 12:47Speaker 5: the only rookies at NFL history where three hundred or
- 12:51Speaker 5: more passing yards in three consecutive games. The Cardinals had
- 12:54Speaker 5: a chance to win late, but Kylin marthura a deep
- 12:55Speaker 5: pass on a fourth and eight and that was intended
- 12:57Speaker 5: for Mark He's Brown and Stephen Nelson bedded down and
- 13:00Speaker 5: with thirty five seconds left on the Texans twenty seven
- 13:03Speaker 5: yard line, Kylin Moore went twenty of thirty for two
- 13:05Speaker 5: to fourteen, one touchdown one the reception. He also had
- 13:08Speaker 5: fifty one yards on the ground in one touchdown. Murray,
- 13:11Speaker 5: you still see the talent in Murray. It's there, man.
- 13:13Speaker 5: If you can get some weapons and be coachable, be disciplined.
- 13:15Speaker 4: It'll be okay. But I think Stroud is let let
- 13:19Speaker 4: the league know that he's for real. Oh my gosh,
- 13:22Speaker 4: no question about it.
- 13:22Speaker 3: I mean, down in Carolina you might have a little
- 13:25Speaker 3: buyer's remorse with Bryce Young over Stroud. I mean at
- 13:27Speaker 3: the time, obviously hindsight's twenty twenty. But Stroud is impressive man,
- 13:31Speaker 3: and he's really Demigo Ryans and those boys definitely turning
- 13:34Speaker 3: things around in Houston. We talked about the forty nine
- 13:36Speaker 3: Ers and the Bucks, and we unfortunately know what happened
- 13:38Speaker 3: with the Seahawks in the Rams. This is setting up
- 13:42Speaker 3: its credible stress for the Seahawks, playing the Niners twice
- 13:45Speaker 3: in three weeks, also matchup with the Cowboys and Eagles.
- 13:47Speaker 3: But if the Seahawks won any chance to win this
- 13:50Speaker 3: division and stay competitive within the NFC West, they have
- 13:53Speaker 3: their hands full this Thursday against the San Francisco forty
- 13:56Speaker 3: nine Ers.
- 13:56Speaker 4: Man ups is.
- 13:59Speaker 2: This man.
- 14:06Speaker 1: Man up? On Hawk Talk?
- 14:08Speaker 3: Well, only one place to start bump with the guy
- 14:11Speaker 3: that used to be known as mister irrelevant but as
- 14:13Speaker 3: quickly shed that title because he's showing the NFL that
- 14:16Speaker 3: it might not be a fluke what he did last year,
- 14:19Speaker 3: Party ranks among the NFL's best. When it comes to
- 14:21Speaker 3: quarterback rankings sixth in the NFL and passing yards of
- 14:24Speaker 3: two thousand, six hundred and sixty two first in the NFL,
- 14:27Speaker 3: and completion percentage seventh in the NFL in yards per game,
- 14:31Speaker 3: tied for six in touchdowns, number one in QBR and
- 14:34Speaker 3: number one in QB rating. But here's the deal bump.
- 14:37Speaker 3: When Party's good, this offense is elite. During the five
- 14:41Speaker 3: game win streak to start the year, Party was ninety
- 14:42Speaker 3: eight to one to thirty six, completing seventy two percent
- 14:44Speaker 3: of his passes twelve hundred yards, nine touchdowns, zero picks.
- 14:48Speaker 3: But during losses, Party might have contributed in a big way.
- 14:52Speaker 3: During that stretch he was fifty five for eighty eight,
- 14:55Speaker 3: sixty two percent completion percentage, seven hundred and sixty two yards,
- 14:58Speaker 3: three touchdowns, five interceptions, and one fumble loss. Now the
- 15:03Speaker 3: last two weeks he's completely almost perfect, forty to fifty one,
- 15:06Speaker 3: seventy eight percent completion percentage, six hundred and twenty nine yards,
- 15:11Speaker 3: six touchdowns, zero interceptions. Now this includes a great performance
- 15:16Speaker 3: against Tampa. We talked about a little bit twenty one
- 15:18Speaker 3: to twenty five, three hundred and thirty three yards, three touchdowns,
- 15:22Speaker 3: zero interceptions in a perfect one five eight three QB
- 15:27Speaker 3: rating bump. And I still aren't exactly sure how we
- 15:30Speaker 3: calculate that, but we're told it means it's very good
- 15:33Speaker 3: and so honestly, but for me, it's they go as
- 15:36Speaker 3: he goes. When he's playing well taking care of the football,
- 15:38Speaker 3: they're one of the best offenses in the league. When
- 15:40Speaker 3: he's not, they looked average and they lost three games.
- 15:42Speaker 3: So the Seahawks defense, we know their weapons. We're going
- 15:45Speaker 3: to talk about him here. They're very dangerous. But brock
- 15:47Speaker 3: Purty to me, is done enough to be like, listen,
- 15:50Speaker 3: this guy's legit. You got to make him uncomfortable otherwise
- 15:53Speaker 3: he can tear you apart.
- 15:54Speaker 5: Yeah, man, he's good to go. Sign so delivered. You
- 15:58Speaker 5: just got to hope that he doesn't have a game.
- 16:00Speaker 5: Let's talk about our quarterback Gino Smith. He did take
- 16:03Speaker 5: a big hit on Sunday, Aaron Donald got to him,
- 16:05Speaker 5: but he got back in the game and show us
- 16:07Speaker 5: from grit Man some toughness. Like I mentioned, it was
- 16:10Speaker 5: twenty two or thirty four for two to thirty three
- 16:11Speaker 5: and one touchdown. He had another game with zero turnovers,
- 16:15Speaker 5: tried to come up with the fourth game winning drive
- 16:18Speaker 5: of the season, put the team in position, but Myers
- 16:20Speaker 5: just couldn't finish it off. One of the big issues though,
- 16:23Speaker 5: is third down all year has been the issue. Honestly,
- 16:25Speaker 5: start the day four for four, you finished one four eleven.
- 16:28Speaker 5: You're five for fifteen on the day. That's not going
- 16:30Speaker 5: to be good enough.
- 16:31Speaker 4: Man.
- 16:31Speaker 5: They are thirty one percent on third downs. Man, that's
- 16:35Speaker 5: thirtieth in the NFL. And Gino threw ten games. Not
- 16:39Speaker 5: as good as last year, but I mean the numbers
- 16:42Speaker 5: are pretty close. Last year he was completed seventy two
- 16:44Speaker 5: percent of his passes. This year sixty five. Last year
- 16:47Speaker 5: at this point he had two four to seventy four yards.
- 16:50Speaker 5: This point he has four and four. This is probably
- 16:53Speaker 5: the biggest difference right here. Last year seventeen touchdowns and
- 16:55Speaker 5: four interceptions at this point this year twelve touchdowns, seven
- 16:58Speaker 5: interceptions year twenty four secs this year twenty to one.
- 17:02Speaker 5: So far this year he's twentieth, and completion percentage eleventh,
- 17:05Speaker 5: and yards thirteenth, and yards per game eighteenth and QB
- 17:08Speaker 5: reading and seven rating and seventeenth and qb R. There's
- 17:15Speaker 5: only it's only gonna get harder for this dude, cause
- 17:18Speaker 5: you got Niners in three weeks, you play the Dallas Cowboys,
- 17:23Speaker 5: and you play Philly. So if you stand any chance,
- 17:26Speaker 5: Geno's gonna have to win at least one or two
- 17:28Speaker 5: of these games. Set up a game, winn a field goal,
- 17:30Speaker 5: a drive or something. He's shown that he can do it.
- 17:34Speaker 5: Let's get it done.
- 17:35Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 17:35Speaker 3: Well, when you look at that Niners defense, good god, man,
- 17:38Speaker 3: you look at where they're at fifth and total defense,
- 17:40Speaker 3: third against the run, fifteen migaints, the pass in first
- 17:43Speaker 3: and points allowed. So they might bend every once in
- 17:45Speaker 3: a while, not a lot, but they keep you out
- 17:47Speaker 3: of the end zone.
- 17:48Speaker 4: And then you know, looking at other.
- 17:51Speaker 3: Weapons they have because this list, I mean, we could
- 17:53Speaker 3: talk for two hours on how good some of their
- 17:54Speaker 3: players are. We'll go to Christian McCaffrey taking on the
- 17:57Speaker 3: Seahawks front seven. He's one of the most dangerous guys
- 17:59Speaker 3: in the league. Man, I call him. I think he's
- 18:01Speaker 3: a legit Swiss army knife bump. I mean in Carolina,
- 18:03Speaker 3: and we know what he could do. He was an
- 18:05Speaker 3: All Pro, having a thousand rushing one thousand receiving yards
- 18:07Speaker 3: in the same season. Then he's kind of dinged up
- 18:09Speaker 3: for two years, gets back healthy when he goes to
- 18:12Speaker 3: the Niners, and last year finished every game, had one
- 18:16Speaker 3: and thirty nine yards rushing on two hundred and forty
- 18:19Speaker 3: four carries eight touchdowns. Also had eighty five receptions seven
- 18:22Speaker 3: one hundred and forty one yards in five touchdowns. He
- 18:26Speaker 3: also had a crazy streak where he had a touchdown
- 18:27Speaker 3: in seventeen straight games that tied an NFL record with
- 18:30Speaker 3: Lenny Moore. It was broken a cup two weeks ago.
- 18:33Speaker 3: He's back to one now after their win against Tampa,
- 18:36Speaker 3: so he's doing his thing. He's got eight hundred and
- 18:38Speaker 3: twenty five yards on the year rushing nine touchdowns. Also
- 18:41Speaker 3: he's got three hundred and sixty four yards receiving in
- 18:44Speaker 3: five touchdowns. So the dude's legit man in the Seahawks,
- 18:49Speaker 3: He's he's just a matchup nightmare. He's tough because what
- 18:52Speaker 3: he can do in the past game, in the run game,
- 18:53Speaker 3: he's physical, he's elusive.
- 18:56Speaker 4: He's just a really good player. That's why I call
- 18:58Speaker 4: him Swiss Army Knife.
- 18:59Speaker 3: So the Seahawks are gonna have hands full there, So
- 19:01Speaker 3: Bobby Jordan Brooks definitely gonna have to work cut out
- 19:04Speaker 3: for him.
- 19:06Speaker 5: Yeah, and he's got help too, man Deebo Samuel and
- 19:09Speaker 5: Brandon I yuk Man. Every position on this team is loaded.
- 19:13Speaker 5: Brendan Ayuk is the best receiver on that team. Debo
- 19:15Speaker 5: might be the better athlete, you can do more things
- 19:17Speaker 5: with him, but Ayuk is the best receiver on the team.
- 19:20Speaker 5: He's got seven eight receptions, one thousand and fifteen yards
- 19:22Speaker 5: and eight touchdowns this season.
- 19:25Speaker 4: All excuse me, that was last year.
- 19:26Speaker 5: Those were his numbers, right. This season, he's off to
- 19:28Speaker 5: even better start, all right. He has sixty one receptions
- 19:32Speaker 5: for eight thirty one and four touchdowns. He has two
- 19:35Speaker 5: hundred and twenty two yards after the catch, means he
- 19:39Speaker 5: is going to get busy with the ball in his hands.
- 19:42Speaker 5: On the other side, you got Deebo Samuel do about anything.
- 19:45Speaker 5: Receiver running back, He's got you. His numbers are down
- 19:49Speaker 5: so far this year. He missed two games, so that's
- 19:50Speaker 5: gonna affect him. He's got twenty seven receptions for three
- 19:53Speaker 5: ninety five one touchdown and twenty two carries for one
- 19:55Speaker 5: to twenty three and two touchdowns. You got to depend
- 19:58Speaker 5: on Rieke willam In, Devin Witherspoon, and don't forget Trey
- 20:01Speaker 5: Brown to really handle these guys.
- 20:03Speaker 4: Man.
- 20:04Speaker 5: After allowing a one hundred yard receiver in each of
- 20:07Speaker 5: his first three games, the Hawks have only allowed one
- 20:09Speaker 5: one hundred yard receiver since Week three, and that was
- 20:12Speaker 5: a running back, Brian Robinson catching football out the backyard
- 20:15Speaker 5: at the backfield two passes on blown coverages, got'll help you.
- 20:20Speaker 5: Rick Willen had an interception last game. He's got two
- 20:22Speaker 5: on the year and five passes defendant in the last
- 20:25Speaker 5: four games. Witherspoon has five passes defended in the last
- 20:28Speaker 5: four games and has thirteen on the season.
- 20:30Speaker 4: That's good for third in the NFL.
- 20:32Speaker 5: As a team, the Hawks have fifty one passes defended,
- 20:35Speaker 5: which is good for seventh in the NFL. We're gonna
- 20:37Speaker 5: need about three or four from each of them dudes
- 20:40Speaker 5: this weekend.
- 20:41Speaker 3: No question, and I'm hoping Reek continues to we were
- 20:45Speaker 3: and Witherspoon specifically, every time he's in the game, I
- 20:48Speaker 3: feel like he affects it differently. He's probably our most effective,
- 20:51Speaker 3: one of our most effective blitzers as well, so definitely
- 20:53Speaker 3: want to see him be active and I'm going to
- 20:56Speaker 3: see our offensive line being active because they got their
- 20:58Speaker 3: hands full with Nick Bosa. Bosa is just I mean,
- 21:01Speaker 3: last year he had one of the best seasons you'll
- 21:03Speaker 3: ever see from a defensive lineman. Fifty one tackles, eighteen
- 21:06Speaker 3: and a half sacks, nineteen TFLs, All Pro Defensive Player
- 21:10Speaker 3: of the Year, six in MVP voting, Pro Bowler. So
- 21:13Speaker 3: he hit about pretty much every accolade you can hit
- 21:15Speaker 3: as a defensive player, and he's just, gosh, he's just
- 21:18Speaker 3: he's a really good player. Especially when he gets in
- 21:21Speaker 3: that track stance and you're behind in the game, he
- 21:24Speaker 3: is a problem.
- 21:25Speaker 4: I will say this year he's off to a little
- 21:27Speaker 4: bit of a slower start.
- 21:29Speaker 3: Held out for forty four days in training camp, worked out,
- 21:31Speaker 3: got a nice payday, but he even admitted that it
- 21:33Speaker 3: might have slowed him down as he had a ramp
- 21:35Speaker 3: up into the season.
- 21:36Speaker 4: He's not having a slout season though.
- 21:38Speaker 3: I mean, he's still got twenty eight tackles, five and
- 21:40Speaker 3: a half sacks, seven TFLs, two passes defended. The last
- 21:43Speaker 3: three games he's had three sacks, so he's definitely playing
- 21:46Speaker 3: better football. So Charles Cross, whoever's playing right tackle Jason Peters.
- 21:50Speaker 3: You'd love to see a Blucas who knows, but everyone's
- 21:53Speaker 3: going to need to know where he's at on every snap.
- 21:56Speaker 5: Yeah, point him out, everybody point out him. I don't care.
- 21:59Speaker 5: Do what you gotta do. Let's locate him. Now, let's
- 22:02Speaker 5: talk about our running backs. Man, against this front seven,
- 22:05Speaker 5: you got Fred Warner, you got Dre Greenlaw in there
- 22:08Speaker 5: as well, especially because you're not gonna have Ken Walker.
- 22:11Speaker 5: It sounds like he has a legit oblique strain. It's
- 22:13Speaker 5: with how Pete Carroll described him. Man, he left the
- 22:16Speaker 5: game early against the Rams. He had eighteen yards and
- 22:18Speaker 5: four carries at that time. So we got to see
- 22:20Speaker 5: Zach Scharbon day he had fifteen carries for forty seven yards,
- 22:24Speaker 5: and see if he gets into the groove.
- 22:25Speaker 1: Man.
- 22:25Speaker 5: We're not sure if kin Walker's gonna be there or
- 22:27Speaker 5: not for Thanksgiving, but we can expect to see more Sharbon,
- 22:30Speaker 5: name DJ Dallas, maybe even Kenny wash Now.
- 22:33Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 22:33Speaker 5: I'm still waiting to see Kenny macintoss. Sorry, I'm still
- 22:35Speaker 5: waiting to see what Kenny can do. So far, the
- 22:38Speaker 5: Seahawks are twenty fifth in the NFL when it comes
- 22:40Speaker 5: to running the ball. They average ninety six yards per
- 22:43Speaker 5: game on the year. Ken Walker has six hundred thirteen
- 22:46Speaker 5: yards and six touchdowns, Charbonne has two sixty one and
- 22:49Speaker 5: two touchdowns, and DJ has six carries for eight team.
- 22:53Speaker 4: Now we know how good.
- 22:54Speaker 5: That defensive line is, but they're keeping these two clean.
- 22:59Speaker 5: Fred Warner and Drake Greenlaw. Fred Runner reminds us a
- 23:03Speaker 5: lot of Bobby Wagner Man. When Bobby entered the league
- 23:05Speaker 5: in twenty eighteen. He's had over one hundred tackles in
- 23:09Speaker 5: every season. Excuse me, Warner has had eleven tackles in
- 23:12Speaker 5: every season. I mean Bobby just was celebrated twelve years,
- 23:15Speaker 5: twelve consecutive years with one hundred tackles. So green Law's
- 23:19Speaker 5: on his way. Yeah, he's been a Pro bowler. He
- 23:21Speaker 5: made first team on Pro in twenty twenty and twenty
- 23:24Speaker 5: twenty three, and we think he's the best linebacker in
- 23:26Speaker 5: the league so far this year ninety tackles, two and
- 23:29Speaker 5: a half sacks, five TFLs, four quarterback hits in the pass.
- 23:32Speaker 5: Defendant and his partner in crime, man Dre Greenlaw, has.
- 23:36Speaker 4: Been really good in his short career as well.
- 23:38Speaker 5: He had a career high one hundred and twenty seven
- 23:40Speaker 5: tackles in twenty twenty two. This season, he's got seventy
- 23:43Speaker 5: one tackles, five TFLs, four quarterback hits, one and a
- 23:45Speaker 5: half sacks, and four passes defend him. The running backs
- 23:48Speaker 5: are gonna have their work cutout for him. Man, he
- 23:50Speaker 5: starts with the defensive line. They back up the linebackers there.
- 23:55Speaker 5: Niners defense has been good, seems like for a very
- 23:58Speaker 5: long time.
- 23:58Speaker 4: Now, Fred Warner scarceen Man.
- 24:01Speaker 3: He just makes plays all over the field the way
- 24:03Speaker 3: he I love the Bobby Widen in comparison because that's
- 24:05Speaker 3: that's what I see. And he looks like he's gonna
- 24:07Speaker 3: have long jevy to do it for a long time.
- 24:10Speaker 3: And the last guy I want to flip to talk
- 24:12Speaker 3: about over here for the Niners is George Kittle. I
- 24:15Speaker 3: mean again, we could go through and spend time on
- 24:16Speaker 3: so many different other players that we didn't even miss,
- 24:18Speaker 3: but I'll cut it short here.
- 24:21Speaker 4: He's a boss man. He's one of the best tight
- 24:22Speaker 4: ends in the league.
- 24:23Speaker 3: He helped fun tight end you teaching all these other
- 24:26Speaker 3: tight ends throughout the league. He's our second leading receiver.
- 24:28Speaker 3: He's got forty three receptions six hundred and forty eight
- 24:31Speaker 3: yards in five touchdowns, averaging fifteen yards per catch. Matchup,
- 24:35Speaker 3: Nightmare is gonna get it done in the run game,
- 24:36Speaker 3: gonna get it done through the air. He's just someone
- 24:39Speaker 3: who is scary good. And Shanahan is just so good
- 24:42Speaker 3: at scheming him up to get open and all the
- 24:44Speaker 3: things he's got going there. So the Seahawks defense is
- 24:47Speaker 3: going to have their hands full. But these guys are human.
- 24:50Speaker 3: They did lose three games in a row one point,
- 24:52Speaker 3: so you know, our coaches get to you know, to
- 24:55Speaker 3: go through practice and watch film and find their deficiencies
- 24:58Speaker 3: and it's gonna be competitive, because it's gonna be it's
- 25:00Speaker 3: gonna be rocking at Lumenfield. But let's tell you how
- 25:02Speaker 3: the Seahawks can get a victory. Path the victory.
- 25:07Speaker 2: After forty five waits for the staff, Michael Dixon puts
- 25:10Speaker 2: it down.
- 25:11Speaker 4: That kick is away. If that kick.
- 25:13Speaker 2: Is gone, to stay off.
- 25:15Speaker 1: When it's gone, it's a path to victory. On Hawk Talk.
- 25:19Speaker 3: Another big divisional matchup, as the Seahawks have a chance,
- 25:23Speaker 3: you know, if they want to have a chance to
- 25:24Speaker 3: win the division, it's gonna start here. They got to
- 25:26Speaker 3: get a win against San Franz. They've already lost two
- 25:27Speaker 3: games in the division to the Rams, so this is
- 25:30Speaker 3: gonna be a huge one. And you know, hopefully the
- 25:32Speaker 3: health will be on the side of the Seahawks with
- 25:33Speaker 3: Gino Smith looking like he's gonna be able to play,
- 25:35Speaker 3: which is great according to Pete Carroll talking at the podium,
- 25:39Speaker 3: And then you know, for me, Bump, it's about third downs.
- 25:43Speaker 3: This offense can be really explosive, but they can only
- 25:45Speaker 3: be explosive if they stay on the field. They are
- 25:47Speaker 3: five to fifteen against the Rams. That trend cannot continue.
- 25:50Speaker 3: It's something they've struggled with all year. But for me,
- 25:52Speaker 3: this is gonna be huge, especially against a great defense
- 25:55Speaker 3: like the forty nine ers. If you can't stay on
- 25:57Speaker 3: the field, it could be ugly with all those weapons.
- 26:00Speaker 5: Yeah, man, keep the offense off the field, and then
- 26:04Speaker 5: you gotta find balance between the run in the past
- 26:06Speaker 5: and stay on the field.
- 26:07Speaker 2: Right.
- 26:07Speaker 5: That starts with converting on third downs, but nice little
- 26:10Speaker 5: balance too, and I can't lose the time of possession.
- 26:13Speaker 5: The forty nine ers, we talked about all the weapons
- 26:15Speaker 5: that they have over the field. They're gonna score some points,
- 26:17Speaker 5: but don't let them get all crazy and go nuts.
- 26:20Speaker 4: You gotta limit the big plays. Get after party.
- 26:22Speaker 5: You can't let them stand back there and make a
- 26:25Speaker 5: sandwich and feel no pressure. You gotta make this young
- 26:28Speaker 5: man move man, force a turnover. No perfect QB rating
- 26:33Speaker 5: this week for Party. Just get after him.
- 26:36Speaker 4: Come on, man, we need to.
- 26:37Speaker 3: We've got to the couple times we've played Brock, I
- 26:40Speaker 3: feel like we haven't gotten that done yet, so we've
- 26:42Speaker 3: never seen what he could be like under pressure. I
- 26:44Speaker 3: really want to see Yawks get after him because I
- 26:46Speaker 3: think I don't know, he's a different quarterback when guys
- 26:50Speaker 3: are rushing consistently. So we'll see what happens there. Seahawks
- 26:53Speaker 3: A under the bright lights defend home Field. They've been
- 26:55Speaker 3: great at Looming Field this season. And the whole nation
- 26:58Speaker 3: is watching on Thanksgiving Day, so it's gonna be a
- 27:00Speaker 3: huge game on Thursday. Pregame show starts at two pm.
- 27:04Speaker 3: It's gonna be a fun one. Remind us you can
- 27:06Speaker 3: catch us everywhere Sea dot Com, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Serious XM.
- 27:09Speaker 2: And more.
- 27:10Speaker 3: If you're listening on Apple podcasts, don't forget to leave
- 27:12Speaker 3: us a five star rating. We appreciate it. We're gonna
- 27:15Speaker 3: take a little bit of time. Obviously, we're gonna get
- 27:17Speaker 3: ready for the game on Thanksgiving. Then we'll be back
- 27:19Speaker 3: with you next week, hopefully recapping at seahawks unbelievable win
- 27:22Speaker 3: on Thanksgiving Day. Happy Thanksgiving everybody out there. Until next time,
- 27:26Speaker 3: He's Michael Bumpus, I'm NASA Chobe. This has been Hawk Talk.
