- 0:02Speaker 1: Welcome to the not Palty.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Hi, this is Nick and Astas, you story editor on
- 0:09Speaker 2: Star Wars, The Clone Wars and Star Wars bad Batch,
- 0:13Speaker 2: and you are listening to Aggressive Negotiations.
- 0:23Speaker 3: Well, hello, and welcome to Aggressive Negotiations to Star Wars
- 0:28Speaker 3: podcast coming at you.
- 0:29Speaker 1: Live for most Espa As.
- 0:30Speaker 3: We are here with the pod racing event of the season,
- 0:36Speaker 3: the Most Espa Special.
- 0:38Speaker 1: Yes they renamed it. I'm sorry, you know, after that
- 0:42Speaker 1: human one. You know, we didn't want to be associated
- 0:44Speaker 1: with that anymore. They don't Boon to Eve Special, so whatever.
- 0:50Speaker 3: Well, we're back and I.
- 0:52Speaker 1: Am just one of your hosts here Matthew Rushing and
- 0:54Speaker 1: with me as he is every single week podcast commentator
- 0:58Speaker 1: extraordinary and Jedi master of pod racer betting John Mills.
- 1:05Speaker 4: You know, I still maintain I'm going to lodge an
- 1:08Speaker 4: appeal because I know I lost my You mentioned the
- 1:12Speaker 4: first human winning Boom to Eve, and I'm filing an
- 1:17Speaker 4: appeal even though I've lost on the first trial with
- 1:19Speaker 4: the Galactic Supreme Court about Midiclorian's should be counted as
- 1:24Speaker 4: a performance enhancing drug, and so I think that Anakin's
- 1:28Speaker 4: victory should be voided exactly because this is, and we
- 1:32Speaker 4: need to start doing midiclorion testing before every pod race
- 1:37Speaker 4: to make sure that this is a fair and level
- 1:39Speaker 4: playing field.
- 1:41Speaker 1: Yes, yes, I'm behind this one hundred percent.
- 1:44Speaker 3: Also, before we get started, of course, we want to
- 1:46Speaker 3: mention our sponsor prize picks.
- 1:48Speaker 1: So, John, what are your prize picks for pod racing today?
- 1:52Speaker 4: Well, my prize picks are gas Gano, who has he's
- 1:56Speaker 4: actually transferred over to Riot Racing of all things, but
- 2:01Speaker 4: he's making a special return for today's race. And I
- 2:04Speaker 4: think that teinto Pendule's is definitely somebody that you should
- 2:07Speaker 4: keep an eye on in this race. But my true
- 2:10Speaker 4: super prize pick is a special, a special guest who
- 2:15Speaker 4: is entering the pod race at the last second. Dexter
- 2:19Speaker 4: Jetster with his four arms is going to be well suited. Now,
- 2:24Speaker 4: he does have to have a special pod racer built
- 2:27Speaker 4: for him. He's a little bit larger than your typical
- 2:29Speaker 4: pod racer, But I think I think dex has got
- 2:31Speaker 4: some really good odds here in tonight's race.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Well, John, my over under is actually going to be
- 2:39Speaker 1: on Soubolba, who has a brand new racer and some
- 2:43Speaker 1: new sponsors in Slugo Cola I'm just kidding anyway, that's
- 2:49Speaker 1: from another Star franchise.
- 2:50Speaker 3: Anyway, we are absolutely teasing.
- 2:52Speaker 1: We are not sponsored by Prize Picks, although I guess
- 2:56Speaker 1: if they want to sponsor us, you know, come on,
- 2:58Speaker 1: it's yeah, why not. I don't really do a lot
- 3:01Speaker 1: of sports betting, but if I'm gonna bet, I'm putting
- 3:03Speaker 1: all my money on Quadroniras today. Anyway, before we get started,
- 3:08Speaker 1: just thank you so much for listening. We really appreciate it.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Help out the show here in twenty twenty five. That's right,
- 3:14Speaker 1: it is twenty twenty five as we're recording this. Now
- 3:17Speaker 1: you can give us a star rating review over on
- 3:19Speaker 1: Apple Podcast. It's still a great way to help out
- 3:22Speaker 1: the podcasts that you love. Written reviews really do make
- 3:26Speaker 1: a difference, as do star ratings, and so do that
- 3:28Speaker 1: for us here in the new year. Also, you can
- 3:32Speaker 1: find us all over social media. We're on x Twitter
- 3:35Speaker 1: at the Jedi Masters. We've got the entire network on
- 3:39Speaker 1: x Twitter at Join nerd Party. You can also find
- 3:42Speaker 1: us online at the nerd Party dot com. We're on
- 3:44Speaker 1: Instagram at the nerd Party, and we're on Facebook at
- 3:47Speaker 1: Facebook dot com, slash the nerd Party but John, you
- 3:51Speaker 1: messaged me the other day with one of the most
- 3:54Speaker 1: interesting messages that I've ever received from you, which this
- 3:57Speaker 1: is saying a lot, folks and so.
- 4:00Speaker 4: But much less cursing than usual too.
- 4:03Speaker 3: Yeah, it's crazy, but you used AI based off of
- 4:08Speaker 3: all of our previous shows to generate some topics for
- 4:13Speaker 3: us to talk about, and one of them.
- 4:14Speaker 1: Really caught my eye and actually really had me thinking.
- 4:19Speaker 1: And I mean this in all sincerity. I've been thinking
- 4:22Speaker 1: about this topic ever since I read your message, and
- 4:26Speaker 1: it was the idea of pod racing and whether or
- 4:29Speaker 1: not this spectacular sport would actually be a place for
- 4:34Speaker 1: rebel recruitment. And what struck me about the idea was
- 4:40Speaker 1: the way in which you know, we have not a
- 4:42Speaker 1: wonderful one, but you know, NASCAR began because of the
- 4:47Speaker 1: bootleggers trying to outrun the cops during Prohibition, and so
- 4:51Speaker 1: the idea of vehicles being a part of a resistance
- 4:57Speaker 1: to a government program or just a government in general, right,
- 5:03Speaker 1: it was fascinating to me. And so as I was
- 5:06Speaker 1: thinking about this, I really do think there actually could
- 5:09Speaker 1: be validity that the pod racing network could be a
- 5:13Speaker 1: place where the rebellion might find an ability to be
- 5:19Speaker 1: able to recruit and even just to do business, right,
- 5:22Speaker 1: I mean I was because I was thinking about this, Like, right,
- 5:24Speaker 1: we saw that racing episode in the Bad Batch, and
- 5:28Speaker 1: this is an underworld place which the Empire could care
- 5:32Speaker 1: less about really, and that's an area in which it's like,
- 5:36Speaker 1: it seems like a lot of different people can congregate,
- 5:39Speaker 1: nobody's really paying attention to who's there. And so the
- 5:44Speaker 1: fact that this could turn into a hot bed of
- 5:47Speaker 1: not just underground activity, but the rebellion is fascinating to me.
- 5:51Speaker 4: Pod racing would be a great place for recruitment to happen,
- 5:54Speaker 4: especially for pilots in the rebellion. You have people who
- 5:57Speaker 4: are already risk takers, who are all already fast thinkers,
- 6:00Speaker 4: who are already able to navigate really difficult courses. They're
- 6:08Speaker 4: able to make snap decisions in a very fast, fluid
- 6:12Speaker 4: situation while they're being essentially pursued and other people are
- 6:17Speaker 4: trying to destroy them. Based on what we've seen of
- 6:20Speaker 4: pod racing, there is also I think an additional slightly
- 6:26Speaker 4: illegal circuit, a less reputable circuit for pod racing that exists.
- 6:31Speaker 4: I would argue that from what we see that there's
- 6:34Speaker 4: pod racing on Malastair, but I think what we see
- 6:38Speaker 4: on Tatowine, the Bunta Eve one, I think that's sort
- 6:41Speaker 4: of the non pro circuit, if you will. I think
- 6:44Speaker 4: there are fewer regulations around the pod racing on Tatowine,
- 6:49Speaker 4: so I think that would be a perfect environment to
- 6:52Speaker 4: go in.
- 6:53Speaker 1: I mean, a child races in this one, So I'm
- 6:55Speaker 1: just saying not a lot of child labor laws there.
- 6:59Speaker 4: I mean, that's a whole top in and of itself.
- 7:01Speaker 4: Where what does pod racing look like in a legitimate environment.
- 7:06Speaker 4: You're not going to let a ten year old race.
- 7:08Speaker 4: You're gonna really want regulation around that. And so if
- 7:14Speaker 4: you go to these things. But even in the regulated environment,
- 7:17Speaker 4: you have people who are risk takers, people who are
- 7:20Speaker 4: prone to do things for the thrill of it. So
- 7:23Speaker 4: even if they don't become recruits in the sense that
- 7:26Speaker 4: they would put on a helmet and try to repel
- 7:29Speaker 4: stormtroopers on the tannav four, they are people who you
- 7:34Speaker 4: could appeal to them to say, hey, listen, I need
- 7:37Speaker 4: you to make a run and make sure that these
- 7:39Speaker 4: other ships get past this blockade. That would be very
- 7:43Speaker 4: appealing and actually to support what you're saying, remember that
- 7:48Speaker 4: part of the legends background for Han Solo was that
- 7:52Speaker 4: he was a swoop racer. That's why Denngar had a
- 7:55Speaker 4: beef with him. So that right there, I think supports
- 7:59Speaker 4: your entire you know, thesis about the idea that racers
- 8:03Speaker 4: would be prone to become rebels. I completely agree with that.
- 8:07Speaker 1: I love the way you kind of picked that up
- 8:10Speaker 1: and ran with it, especially with the idea that these
- 8:12Speaker 1: people would make great pilots, because you get the sense
- 8:17Speaker 1: that as the empire moves forward that things did be
- 8:23Speaker 1: you know, illegal, things get harder and harder to do
- 8:27Speaker 1: without there being some kind of oversight of the empire
- 8:30Speaker 1: in some way, Like I mean, even the return of
- 8:32Speaker 1: slavery with say as Sigerians, most likely during the reign
- 8:37Speaker 1: of Palpatine, is going to have some sort of imperial oversight,
- 8:41Speaker 1: right Like, there's nothing that's beyond his preview in that.
- 8:44Speaker 1: And so you know the ways in which you know,
- 8:49Speaker 1: a you know, pod racers, you know, could get taken
- 8:52Speaker 1: in for no reason other than they you know, want
- 8:55Speaker 1: to take them in, They're getting too popular, whatever.
- 8:57Speaker 3: Uh.
- 8:58Speaker 1: You know, you could absolutely see the way in which
- 9:00Speaker 1: the overreach of the empire leads to uh, these people
- 9:04Speaker 1: turning from a life of crime a ka like Han
- 9:09Speaker 1: solo uh to legitimacy very easily. And and not just that,
- 9:14Speaker 1: but again I keep coming back to, you know, when
- 9:17Speaker 1: you think about that the racing episode in the Bad Back,
- 9:22Speaker 1: and that this is a place where everybody can congregate
- 9:28Speaker 1: and there at that point there isn't a ton of oversight,
- 9:33Speaker 1: and so the rebellion being able and at that point,
- 9:36Speaker 1: the nano rebellion being able to utilize a space like
- 9:40Speaker 1: that of kind of ambiguity to either move equipment basically,
- 9:47Speaker 1: you know, you think of like the money laundering that happens,
- 9:50Speaker 1: you know, and the mob scene, the empire not really
- 9:56Speaker 1: taking a look at that type of thing. So it's
- 9:58Speaker 1: a place where the rebellion could possibly move funds, you know,
- 10:02Speaker 1: through this type of thing. I mean, I think really
- 10:05Speaker 1: it's kind of endless the ways in which that this
- 10:07Speaker 1: could actually benefit the rebellion and be a place then
- 10:12Speaker 1: not only where those type of things can happen, but
- 10:15Speaker 1: where recruitment to the rebellion could actually happen as well.
- 10:22Speaker 4: I really like that you bring up things like the
- 10:23Speaker 4: money laundering thing, because if you break it down. There
- 10:26Speaker 4: are going to be layers to this whole pod racing
- 10:29Speaker 4: or even riot racing circuit, where yes, you have people
- 10:33Speaker 4: who can become pilots in the rebellion or at least
- 10:36Speaker 4: contract out to them for special situations. You have this
- 10:42Speaker 4: money laundering where you can have some sort of fake
- 10:46Speaker 4: bookie setup so that you can launder money for the
- 10:48Speaker 4: rebellion through this or something the rebellion acquires, they can
- 10:52Speaker 4: launder it and make it legitimate money. They're criminals anyway,
- 10:56Speaker 4: so far as the Empire is concerned, so I don't
- 10:58Speaker 4: know why they would have a problem with illegal banking
- 11:01Speaker 4: as it were. But then additionally, another layer there is,
- 11:06Speaker 4: you know, building on what you're talking about, simply a
- 11:09Speaker 4: tending a pod race, being in the crowd a lot
- 11:13Speaker 4: easier for you to make contact with another spy or
- 11:17Speaker 4: a source or something like that. In a large crowd
- 11:20Speaker 4: like that where everybody is cheering and you can sort
- 11:24Speaker 4: of surreptitiously make contact with somebody, and it's within a
- 11:30Speaker 4: crowd setting, it's very large, very public, and somebody who's imperial,
- 11:35Speaker 4: somebody who's watching for you is easy to spot because
- 11:40Speaker 4: they're going to stand out. They're not going to look
- 11:42Speaker 4: right as it were. I think that in terms of
- 11:47Speaker 4: the pod racing circuits, I could almost see a storyline
- 11:54Speaker 4: somewhere along the ways. Free note for you, Disney, feel
- 11:56Speaker 4: free to steal this one. Something where like a not
- 12:03Speaker 4: bail Organa himself, but somebody with resources and funds like
- 12:06Speaker 4: that sets up a low level pod racing circuit as
- 12:13Speaker 4: a way to generate money for the rebellion, and then
- 12:16Speaker 4: when they see certain candidates come in, say that's the
- 12:19Speaker 4: type of person we could recruit. So it becomes this legitimate,
- 12:23Speaker 4: quote unquote business that goes out. That's a you know,
- 12:27Speaker 4: a bush league racing circuit, and they use it as
- 12:30Speaker 4: a way to draw in people unwittingly to become recruits. Yeah.
- 12:34Speaker 1: No, I think that that's a really interesting idea. You know,
- 12:39Speaker 1: I just got a chance to finish not too long ago,
- 12:43Speaker 1: Mask of Fear, which I'm not going to give anything away,
- 12:45Speaker 1: but it's a book that takes place like right after
- 12:49Speaker 1: the overthrow of the Republic, the downfall the Jedi, and
- 12:54Speaker 1: it tells the story of bail Organa and mon Mathma,
- 13:00Speaker 1: and it Sagerera as they grapple with this and kind
- 13:05Speaker 1: of what their first steps are. And so as you
- 13:08Speaker 1: mentioned that idea, like, I truly do think that you're
- 13:11Speaker 1: onto something in the sense that when you think about
- 13:15Speaker 1: and we even saw this in and Or right, like
- 13:18Speaker 1: the problems that begin to face on Mathma when money
- 13:26Speaker 1: becomes much more guarded by the Empire in the sense
- 13:31Speaker 1: that they're watching transactions for people, right, They're they're seeing
- 13:35Speaker 1: where money is going because they're beginning to see that
- 13:37Speaker 1: there is this rebellion that is growing, and therefore every
- 13:42Speaker 1: single avenue is being you know, taken a look at
- 13:46Speaker 1: and scoured with a fine tooth comb, you know, not
- 13:50Speaker 1: a pick though, because they haven't found anything. But you know,
- 13:55Speaker 1: I think that then the idea of a place like
- 13:59Speaker 1: pod racing or riot racing becoming an avenue for the
- 14:05Speaker 1: rebellion to be able to grow, to move funds, uh,
- 14:09Speaker 1: to be able to find recruitment, and and also again
- 14:16Speaker 1: just a free place to kind of move and meet people,
- 14:19Speaker 1: which seems kind of like a normal Like you think about,
- 14:23Speaker 1: you know, John, all of these the senators, and like
- 14:26Speaker 1: if they if they wanted to go do something that
- 14:31Speaker 1: seemed innocuous, right, going to a pod race or a
- 14:37Speaker 1: riot race or any of those type of things, right,
- 14:40Speaker 1: It is a perfect cover for them to seem as
- 14:44Speaker 1: though maybe they're being a little lax on their job,
- 14:48Speaker 1: you know, not taking it as seriously, not seeing not
- 14:52Speaker 1: being able to be seen as much of a threat,
- 14:54Speaker 1: especially if there's somebody who like plays up the idea
- 14:57Speaker 1: that they're betting on the races, like kind of the
- 14:59Speaker 1: joke that we were making earlier, Right, What excellent cover
- 15:04Speaker 1: then for rebellious activity that makes it much more difficult
- 15:11Speaker 1: than to snuff out when when you can play the
- 15:15Speaker 1: part of just being possibly a philanderer or a gambler
- 15:21Speaker 1: and somebody who maybe drinks too much. Right, the type
- 15:24Speaker 1: of person that Palpatine thinks, Oh, I can control this person,
- 15:28Speaker 1: you know exactly.
- 15:30Speaker 4: I like what you're saying there because it gives the
- 15:34Speaker 4: cover where it gives the person who's monitoring you the
- 15:38Speaker 4: idea that they're gathering information that they can use as
- 15:41Speaker 4: leverage against you, and so they're looking over to the
- 15:45Speaker 4: left while what you're really doing is over to the right,
- 15:48Speaker 4: and you can cultivate almost like a Bruce Wayne and
- 15:51Speaker 4: Batman sort of thing where you're Batman but everybody thinks
- 15:56Speaker 4: that you're this drunkard billionaire Playboy, and so nobody would
- 16:01Speaker 4: imagine that you're Batman because you have this other public persona.
- 16:06Speaker 4: And so this public persona you're talking about, somebody's going
- 16:09Speaker 4: to the pod races all the time, they're drinking, they're
- 16:11Speaker 4: hanging out with people. You're not thinking spy, You're not
- 16:15Speaker 4: thinking Thunder of the Rebellion. You're thinking, oh, Okay, if
- 16:20Speaker 4: I need to take care of this person, I always
- 16:21Speaker 4: just threaten to blackmail them with this information, right well, I.
- 16:24Speaker 1: Mean, and also kind of you can see how, you know,
- 16:29Speaker 1: any any being would fit into this, any any alien,
- 16:33Speaker 1: you know, man or woman, you know here in the Senate,
- 16:38Speaker 1: from from any planet. You know, you actually see how
- 16:41Speaker 1: a planet like you know from our beloved film The
- 16:45Speaker 1: Last Jedi Canto Bite could actually play into this. Like
- 16:48Speaker 1: a place that you would go be seen as a
- 16:53Speaker 1: person who just likes to have a good time, right,
- 16:56Speaker 1: and yet you're rubbing elbows with people. And and that's
- 17:00Speaker 1: that's the other type of place right where we didn't
- 17:03Speaker 1: even think about this, but you know, going to a
- 17:07Speaker 1: sports bar or a place where you know, because we
- 17:12Speaker 1: saw that right in Attack of the Clones on Coruscant,
- 17:16Speaker 1: you know, so that that would but betting on the races,
- 17:20Speaker 1: whether it's pod racing or father racing or any like,
- 17:23Speaker 1: all of these type of things would actually be places
- 17:26Speaker 1: where the rebellion could utilize for their benefit, because again,
- 17:32Speaker 1: you're you're being seen as somebody who is not a
- 17:36Speaker 1: threat because basically you're just as corrupt as everybody else
- 17:39Speaker 1: in the empire. But really you're just playing the game.
- 17:42Speaker 1: Like you said, you're Batman on one side, but then
- 17:45Speaker 1: you're pretending to be Bruce Wayne the billionaire playboy or
- 17:50Speaker 1: a girl on the other side.
- 17:52Speaker 4: Well, and there's there's also the fact that whoever you
- 17:54Speaker 4: send to go watch the person is easily distracted or
- 17:58Speaker 4: bought off. Because you mentioned the sports bar. In Attack
- 18:01Speaker 4: of the Clones, we see Republic, you know, authority figures
- 18:06Speaker 4: there played by I'm at Best and Anthony Daniels, and
- 18:11Speaker 4: they're they're not paying any attention. They're just they're like
- 18:14Speaker 4: two Jedi walk in and it's like, yeah, okay, whatever,
- 18:16Speaker 4: I'm drinking, I'm hitting up this girl, I'm you know,
- 18:19Speaker 4: who cares. And so they're even going to be whoever
- 18:24Speaker 4: you assign to that This is always sort of the
- 18:26Speaker 4: downfall of the the more control focused government is the
- 18:34Speaker 4: people that you're assigning to watch others in these shadier
- 18:39Speaker 4: environments are very prone to become shady themselves or become
- 18:44Speaker 4: lax in their duties, And so the corruption of imperial
- 18:51Speaker 4: bureaucracy works specifically to the advantage of the person who
- 18:58Speaker 4: like It's so it's so interesting because you like, even
- 19:02Speaker 4: to take it out of the imperial context, you could
- 19:06Speaker 4: build a story within the republic context of how somebody
- 19:10Speaker 4: who is able to use this just to leverage for
- 19:13Speaker 4: their own personal benefit. Not something noble that we know
- 19:16Speaker 4: that we see as noble, like the rebellion, but somebody
- 19:19Speaker 4: who's just trying to operate in a certain you know environment.
- 19:23Speaker 4: I mean, if anything, this whole thing gives an idea
- 19:29Speaker 4: how that sort of cancerous corruption grows for the huts,
- 19:35Speaker 4: for the trade Federation, for anybody else. Because people can
- 19:41Speaker 4: be corrupted, especially when you go into these environments. So
- 19:44Speaker 4: even if the Republic or the Empire or anybody else
- 19:47Speaker 4: is sending somebody after you to pay attention, they can
- 19:50Speaker 4: easily get swept up in all of this, and you
- 19:52Speaker 4: can even corrupt that. You can even seem to corrupt
- 19:56Speaker 4: them as a way to provide further cover for yourself.
- 20:00Speaker 1: Well, and I mean as you were speaking, I was
- 20:02Speaker 1: immediately thinking of the absolute classic that is The Godfather
- 20:09Speaker 1: three of the Death of Michael Corleone, you know, so
- 20:13Speaker 1: Godfather Coda.
- 20:14Speaker 4: The Yes, the correctly edited.
- 20:18Speaker 1: Much better film by the way, if anybody's wondering, it's
- 20:21Speaker 1: actually much better, so much better and bow. But of
- 20:26Speaker 1: course this is the problem that Michael Corleone runs into, right.
- 20:30Speaker 1: He wants to be legitimate, and yet the system that
- 20:34Speaker 1: he's been a part of for so long keeps dragging
- 20:37Speaker 1: him back in, it keeps dragging him down, right, And
- 20:41Speaker 1: this is the kind of the problem that you get
- 20:43Speaker 1: with a corrupt system which the Emperor really likes to foster,
- 20:49Speaker 1: which is all of these people pitted against one another,
- 20:52Speaker 1: and the idea of backstabbing and infighting and all that
- 20:55Speaker 1: kind of stuff. In the end that brings you ruin
- 21:00Speaker 1: because nobody cares about the whole. They just care about themselves.
- 21:06Speaker 1: And you know that in the end when we come
- 21:08Speaker 1: what we come down to is really you know, that's
- 21:11Speaker 1: the core of Star Wars. So it just comes down
- 21:13Speaker 1: to that, John, I mean it. You know, when when
- 21:16Speaker 1: George Lucas is talking uh to the creators of the
- 21:21Speaker 1: Clone Wars and they're doing with their story uh conversations,
- 21:24Speaker 1: and he's talking about the dark side and the light side, right,
- 21:27Speaker 1: this really fits into that the dark side is selfishness
- 21:32Speaker 1: and the light side is selflessness. And and really that's
- 21:35Speaker 1: what all of Star Wars kinds of kind of hinges on.
- 21:39Speaker 1: This idea, is that when you live a selfish life,
- 21:42Speaker 1: you not only will destroy yourself but all those around you. Uh.
- 21:46Speaker 1: And and so being able to utilize a place like
- 21:53Speaker 1: pod racing, riot racing, uh you know, uh, pleasure planets,
- 21:58Speaker 1: sports bars, you know all that kind I mean, gosh,
- 22:01Speaker 1: we even saw uh you know, a planet and Skeleton
- 22:04Speaker 1: crew right where the the spa. You know, all of
- 22:09Speaker 1: these type of places would be wonderful places for recruitment
- 22:13Speaker 1: for the rebellion or to move money or make contacts
- 22:18Speaker 1: or anything like that because it could seem so innocuous
- 22:22Speaker 1: and very difficult to trace in the long run. So
- 22:25Speaker 1: you know, I think that there's really something to that.
- 22:27Speaker 1: And it's one of those things as well where you know,
- 22:31Speaker 1: I think when we've looked at you, we watched the
- 22:36Speaker 1: Bad Batch, we've got the first season of and or
- 22:39Speaker 1: the second one comes out here this year, we've had
- 22:42Speaker 1: Rogue one, and we've seen some of the ways in
- 22:46Speaker 1: which the rebellion began to grow and to move. In fact,
- 22:54Speaker 1: you know, of course, we've got that book that's coming
- 22:55Speaker 1: out here this year, Mask of Fear, which I high
- 23:00Speaker 1: recommend to anyone when it comes out. It's really good.
- 23:03Speaker 1: I can't wait for the rest of that series. But
- 23:07Speaker 1: these are all the types of things to which you
- 23:09Speaker 1: know people are able to utilize. And uh so, well,
- 23:15Speaker 1: I guess we have to thank your prompting abilities for AI,
- 23:20Speaker 1: which you know, as we were talking about before we
- 23:22Speaker 1: started recording on the other side of the Lightsaber, it
- 23:26Speaker 1: can take as long to prompt something as just to
- 23:28Speaker 1: write it yourself.
- 23:29Speaker 4: Oh goodness, yes, goodness, yes it can. It's it's like
- 23:33Speaker 4: a conversation with three po where yes, it's to be
- 23:37Speaker 4: a lot more straightforward than it is. But okay, that's fine,
- 23:40Speaker 4: we'll go We'll go along with it. That's fine, that's fine.
- 23:43Speaker 1: But John, you know, if people wanted to figure out
- 23:47Speaker 1: great Star Wars podcasting prompts from AI from you, where
- 23:51Speaker 1: could they find you?
- 23:52Speaker 4: Well, gosh, you can find me out there as still
- 23:55Speaker 4: is my authentic self at Kessel Junkie k E S
- 23:58Speaker 4: s E l j U n k I E. And
- 24:00Speaker 4: you can find me here on the network on a
- 24:02Speaker 4: show called house Lights where I co host that with
- 24:05Speaker 4: Tristan Riddell and Darren Moser and we talk about the
- 24:08Speaker 4: work of different film directors through their careers. And we
- 24:13Speaker 4: are just opening as we record this our House of Tarantino,
- 24:17Speaker 4: So I'm super thrilled about that because he's one of
- 24:20Speaker 4: my favorites that isn't named Lucas. And that's where you
- 24:24Speaker 4: can find me.
- 24:24Speaker 3: Matt.
- 24:25Speaker 4: Where can people find you online?
- 24:27Speaker 1: Well, I'm all over social media under the name Matt
- 24:30Speaker 1: Rushing zero two. So if I'm on that platform, that's
- 24:33Speaker 1: my name. You can also find me here on the
- 24:35Speaker 1: network with a completed show called owl Posts with Dray
- 24:38Speaker 1: Kaufman talking about every single chapter of the Harry Potter series.
- 24:41Speaker 1: I'm also over on the TFM network with a bunch
- 24:43Speaker 1: of shows. The big one there is the six or
- 24:46Speaker 1: two Club. We're talking about all of the franchises that
- 24:48Speaker 1: we love, not just one. John's a frequent guest over there.
- 24:52Speaker 1: You can find that. We hope you'll check that out,
- 24:54Speaker 1: plus tons of Star Trek talk, so please look up
- 24:57Speaker 1: those podcasts. But John, you know, I think it's time
- 25:00Speaker 1: to actually head back to the temple, because well, I've
- 25:04Speaker 1: got Yoda's winnings from his prize picks, and you know
- 25:08Speaker 1: how he feels when he doesn't get those right away.
- 25:11Speaker 1: So I think it's time to close negotiations.
- 25:13Speaker 4: I'm hopping in my podracer now and we're heading back
- 25:15Speaker 4: to the temple. So Master Rushing, negotiations are closing.
- 25:20Speaker 3: You'd be
- 25:25Speaker 2: Join the revolution, Join the Nerd Party.
