- 0:00Hi. Anthony here.
- 0:03I have an amazing exciting. Inspiring and beautiful
- 0:09announcement to make but I'm not going to make it yet to make
- 0:13you. Wait going to make you Ponder on
- 0:16what it could be. But I'll give you a small taste
- 0:19top employers Institute Ever heard of that brand.
- 0:25Well, if you some of my Global listeners out there and then you
- 0:27probably have now my American listeners you probably haven't
- 0:32heard too much about top employers Institute yet, but you
- 0:34will you will because there's a lot of interesting and impactful
- 0:39creative things happening, associated with that company.
- 0:42And my involvement with the company as well, excuse me,
- 0:46what, I'm excited to share is going to be a combination of
- 0:50taking the next step in my career.
- 0:52What I'm excited to share is the Innovative approach that top
- 0:57employers takes around auditing and understanding and
- 1:02communicating brands that are really doing a lot of great work
- 1:07internally operationally. So that the employees can really
- 1:10feel what it, what it looks like.
- 1:12And what it feels like to be a part of a company that takes HR
- 1:15that takes people operations that takes employee experience.
- 1:19Seriously and tasty and Ice years. and so there's a very
- 1:23exciting message to come and I'm very proud of it.
- 1:28But before I give that message, I want to give a tip as always,
- 1:32I'm looking through top employers institutes, some of
- 1:34their blog, some of their content, and I came across
- 1:37something that was incredibly important.
- 1:40And something I haven't talked about a lot recently.
- 1:43D e and I has turned into a very strategic important initiative
- 1:51inside of most brands and one element of denial101x
- 1:57organizations, forget about, is the impact it can have on your
- 2:02customer base. The impact it can have on
- 2:07improving your products and services.
- 2:11The impact that can have on your ability to strike negotiate and
- 2:15structure deals. The impact it can actually have
- 2:19on the bottom line. Let me explain.
- 2:24Not only do diverse teams, outperform, homogeneous teams
- 2:28when it comes to Innovation, creativity, empathy and other
- 2:32key metrics. We all know that.
- 2:35But diverse teams actually, allow you actually help you as
- 2:39an organization. Produce and make better deals
- 2:43because you have the ability to connect with potential and
- 2:47current and future clientele potential, and current and
- 2:50future partners. That had different backgrounds.
- 2:55Genders colors language culture barriers cultural nuances.
- 3:04You can really play the relationship game and credibly
- 3:07strategically but also authentically if you have many
- 3:10different races and cultures inside of your company, when you
- 3:15take de, and I seriously, The very first impact you can have
- 3:19that again is very subtle and nuanced, and a lot of people
- 3:22don't think about it. Is the impact you can have
- 3:25globally. Let's say, you're an automotive
- 3:30company. Let's say you're a fashion
- 3:34brand, let's say you're a skincare.
- 3:38I mean, any company you could pull any company out of the Hat
- 3:41here. And if you have a lot of
- 3:44different genders races different backgrounds, different
- 3:47experiences inside of your team's today.
- 3:52That are at the executive levels folks that are on the executive
- 3:56levels, in the sea, at the CFO and financial elements of in
- 3:58vertical of the business. If you have some really
- 4:01impactful divers, a talent that sits within your branding and
- 4:05marketing teams, you're really impactful Talent, your divers
- 4:10talent that are sitting within your sales and Partnerships
- 4:12teams, your strategy strategy teams, your product teams when
- 4:18you're trying to deliver Great Value to your clientele to your
- 4:24customers, the amount of impact your product, your service, the
- 4:31design of both how you communicate the product and
- 4:34service, the amount of impact, the, the uptick of a value.
- 4:38The, the, the uptick of the communication, how you're able
- 4:43to translate it across different regions across different, you
- 4:46know, a across different said groups across different across
- 4:50different demographics. It's going to be incredibly
- 4:52impactful an advantage that some companies won't and don't have
- 4:57And so as we're turning into a world into into a nation, a
- 5:01world, a country, a globe that is now starting to work.
- 5:06Cohesively together on the product side, on the service
- 5:09side, We're admittedly with one click of a button, you can get a
- 5:15product from China, you can get a product from Russia, you can
- 5:18get a product from from the UK, the UK can get a product from
- 5:22the state's here. Everything is so streamlined.
- 5:25And if you could have people inside of your organization that
- 5:28are from very varied backgrounds and experiences and language and
- 5:36situations and in all different different types of points of
- 5:40views that can impact your product strategy that can impact
- 5:43your communication and branding strategy that can impact how you
- 5:46package the product, how you package the service, Like I know
- 5:51right now we're talking polar Institute as you're getting the
- 5:54u.s. branch off the ground. There are some nuances that are
- 5:57going to be different here in the US.
- 6:00And so it made a lot of sense for top employers or start
- 6:04investing a lot of time energy and resources into all different
- 6:07types of races, all different types of backgrounds, all
- 6:10different types of demographics, especially from the US instead
- 6:13of having their other teams from other parts of the globe trying
- 6:17to establish a base, trying to establish some credibility here
- 6:20in the states. And we as Americans that have
- 6:25different languages, different backgrounds, different genders,
- 6:27different roles, different experiences.
- 6:29Can support top employers with this strategy of the service and
- 6:34the product and the communications, we can provide
- 6:37that advisory skill set because we live and speak this world.
- 6:41We live in speak this region of the world here.
- 6:45We live in speak this country. And so it's something that again
- 6:50I used to talk about a lot early in this podcast and I want to
- 6:53bring it back D EI. And be can impact so many phases
- 7:00of your business, but it can really make like if you want to
- 7:04get your board on, if you want to get the board on board.
- 7:08Nice little play on words. If you want to get investors on
- 7:11board, If you want to get folks inside of your company there, a
- 7:16little bit skeptical on board. Let's start talking about the
- 7:21impact it can have on your bottom line.
- 7:27Because your ability again, I'll make it clear.
- 7:31Your ability to build relationships with potential and
- 7:33future clientele potential and future Partners, potential.
- 7:38And future investors globally, your ability, your ability to
- 7:43connect with them, your ability to have employees internally
- 7:46that I have similar backgrounds in similar culture, nuances,
- 7:50that can be a play on relationships for those that can
- 7:52make an incredible impact to your business or to your product
- 7:55at your service. The ability to do that will
- 7:58change the game forever. If you are a company that can
- 8:00take that, seriously, how many companies do you know that have
- 8:05the same genders? The same experiences, the same
- 8:08backgrounds, the same colors inside of the company today and
- 8:11that's all they work with. From you partnership strategic
- 8:15technology product standpoint, that's all they work with.
- 8:18So there's siloing themselves in a little bit of a little bit of
- 8:20a bucket in a rabbit hole in a section of the world and a
- 8:23section of the business model and a section of the industry.
- 8:26And so, Oh really. What they're doing is they're
- 8:28cutting off an entire section of profitability.
- 8:30A section of sales, a section of opportunity, they're cutting it
- 8:34legitimately off. Because other genders other
- 8:39other other other colors, other other backgrounds other
- 8:43experience, they won't be able to connect with you.
- 8:46They won't be able to sell it to you.
- 8:47Work with you partner with you. Having a slight bit audio
- 8:57issues, but let's get back to the episode.
- 9:04My apologies, the audio got cut out at the very end of that.
- 9:07But here's the here's the gist of what I want to say.
- 9:11If you can take a lot of time energy and resources, spending.
- 9:16A lot of your strategic effort into building a diverse team,
- 9:21and a diverse and inclusive team.
- 9:24That enables the company to connect with potential and
- 9:27current clientele Partners technology.
- 9:32Partners to allow you to tap into different resources and
- 9:36understand the culture nuances. That scale you can win.
- 9:42Top and pourable top employers believes that, I believe that if
- 9:48you're listening, you probably should believe that there's a
- 9:51lot of good that can happen. So big announcement to come but
- 9:56these are just a few thoughts. And just a few perspectives
- 9:59around with top employers is doing.
- 10:02Around with Anthony Vaughn beliefs.
- 10:05Thanks so much. Thanks so much.
