- 0:52your your PREMIEREA are going to be on the four, five, six,
- 0:56and ten twenty seven news and you've got plenty of talk about don't you.
- 1:00Yeah? I do. And you know birth by fire is always the best
- 1:03form birth by snow, I guess from this version of it all. So
- 1:07yeah, it's going to be an exciting first week because not only we got
- 1:11this guy coming tonight into Tuesday and Wednesday morning, but at the end of
- 1:15the week we got another system that could be another potentially significant snowmaker. So
- 1:19it's going to be a fun first week. It's going to be very exciting.
- 1:22Looking forward to seeing you again. You're going to be on weeknights four,
- 1:26five, six, and ten. I remember back of the day it
- 1:26was just five, six and ten. Adding the four o'clock news not too
- 1:30long ago has just been been a great things for folks as well. Cam.
- 1:34Let's talk a little bit about your background. You are a Midwesterner by
- 1:38birth, aren't you. Yes, yeah, from a struggle Land area,
- 1:42and I know that's not always the best thing to stay up here, so
- 1:46understandable, get that. And you know, we had my tail between my
- 1:49legs from last night and everything like that too, so that's fine, but
- 1:53all things considered, Yeah, no, it's great to be back up in
- 1:57this neckloo from the struggle Land area. I've sent the last about twelve thirteen
- 2:02years in central and southern Indiana, so now we're closer to family and that
- 2:08feels good. It feels good to be back here. You know, Cam,
- 2:12one of the really cool things at modern times is social media and other
- 2:15things. And a couple of weeks ago when the big announcement was made and
- 2:19I saw you on with Amber and Caroline and talking with folks about coming to
- 2:25Wisconsin, is you get a little insight into into people's life And you mentioned,
- 2:30of course, I get a chance to be closer to family, and
- 2:32you're bringing family along with you as well, aren't you. Yeah, my
- 2:38wife got married to her back in twenty thirteen, and we have two kiddos,
- 2:43May who's eight months, Rose who's about three, and Hashiltern four in
- 2:46April. In fact, I just dropped them off at daycare for the first
- 2:50time today, so it's been a little bit of we were running to get
- 2:53to daycare before the interviews, so that was all an interesting morning. But
- 2:57yeah, we're kind of we're all settled here. We're just happy to be
- 3:00here. I've already taken Rose fledding twice. She's ever been fledding before.
- 3:05Not much snow in southern Indiana, so it's a nice change of face.
- 3:09I've got to ask you talking this morning with Cameron Hopman, the new twenty
- 3:13seven storm Track chief meteorologist, and of course we think of WKOW Channel twenty
- 3:17seven, the history of just you know that we look back to, you
- 3:22know, Bob Lindmeyer, who is just an absolute legend in this community.
- 3:24John Ziggler. Folks absolutely love John. It's it's it's quite the heritage when
- 3:30it comes to meteorologists at twenty seven. I've got a guess for you when
- 3:35you when you started that conversation with the folks at WKOW, it was probably
- 3:39a pretty cool opportunity. And I'm going to guess obviously ultimately you took the
- 3:44job, but it was it was probably one of those things where you're just
- 3:46like, oh, my goodness, what a what a great fit. This
- 3:49is going to be absolutely and you know, it's an amazing, amazing opportunity.
- 3:53I'm so thrilled to be here. My wife and I have started talking.
- 3:58We started talking about Madison, place we'd love to end up. Uh,
- 4:01probably eight or nine years ago, we were in Westlafia and Indiana,
- 4:04another big ten school town and thinking well, where we'd like to be eventually,
- 4:10and we we could have been in the Midwest, maybe here, maybe
- 4:14there, and Madison kind of came up in the conversation and ever since then
- 4:17it's kind of been in the back of the mind. To finally end up
- 4:20here and to finally be in this awesome community with all of these amazing people
- 4:25is really just kind of a dream come true. So we're thrilled to be
- 4:28here where. We can't wait to embed ourselves in the community anymore, and
- 4:33and and just make this place our home. It already feels like it is.
- 4:36And I'm guessing Bob is looking forward to get a little more time to
- 4:40get back to golfing. I know, obviously Lindmeyer will still will still be
- 4:43around in some effect, but I'm guessing he's probably life Oh real quick camera
- 4:48before we before we head out, a little bit opportunity also for folks to
- 4:51get to know you what you know? What what is mentioned? Of course
- 4:55we all know Bob Lindmeyer loves to golf. What about for you? What
- 4:58was? What's what's kind of your your favorite free time activity? Free time
- 5:01activity? Baseball? Man, that's the end. I'll be all. I
- 5:06can't wait for the Maillard to kick off the season here. I think it's
- 5:10what May amazingly May looking forward to that and honestly just waiting for baseball season
- 5:16begain. I think I gus out this morning pictures and guesses report thirty nine
- 5:19days right, Yes, yes they do. Oh Cav, it's great to
- 5:24have you. I look forward to hearing your reports and seeing on TV again.
