Latest / Mom Street USA / 90. Lightning Lanes at Disney World
Transcript
- 0:06Welcome everybody to Mom St. USA.
- 0:07My name is Jackie AKA Wishes Mama and on today's episode of
- 0:11mom St. USA, we are revisiting a topic
- 0:14that we have visited several times over the course of our
- 0:17podcast and that is Lightning Lanes.
- 0:20I thought we were maybe due for a refresher since some things
- 0:24have shifted and changed and we talked about that a little bit
- 0:27with our rope drop and early entry episode.
- 0:29So I wanted to revisit Lightning Lanes and do a little bit of
- 0:34kind of a refresher course, a little tutorial and then some
- 0:38Q&A as well with that. So that is the plan for today.
- 0:42And without further ado, I am going to go ahead and just jump
- 0:45in. It's a lot of information.
- 0:46I'm going to do my best to explain it in a way that makes
- 0:49sense and is kind of in the simplest terms.
- 0:53The good news is if you have been a listener for for Monster
- 0:57USA, we just went over some abbreviations and terminology
- 1:01for all of the Disney booking process and some of those you
- 1:07will hear me talk about tonight. So a refresh on that for a lot
- 1:10of you, but if you're brand new, welcome.
- 1:12I'm hoping to give you kind of a one stop shop for your general
- 1:17overview when it comes to Lightning Lanes and to give you
- 1:20some additional information that may help you on an upcoming
- 1:24trip. So Lightning Lane is kind of the
- 1:27term that we use to overarchingly talk about what is
- 1:32formerly known as the fast Pass system at Disney.
- 1:35So this is the system that allows you to wait in a shorter
- 1:40queue line for the rides at Disney World.
- 1:44Now you will also hear the term Lightning Lane used at
- 1:49Disneyland. Tonight we're really going to
- 1:52focus on Disney World. Disneyland is still operating
- 1:55under the former system, which was the Genie Plus system.
- 1:59So if you are familiar with that, that is Disneyland system.
- 2:03We've gone over that. Nothing has really changed
- 2:06there. So feel free to scroll back a
- 2:08little bit in our episode list to check out information on
- 2:11Disneyland because theirs is pretty much the same as what it
- 2:14was the last time that we spoke about it, which was maybe 6
- 2:20months ago, maybe a little bit longer ago.
- 2:22But be sure to check that out if you're looking for Disneyland
- 2:26for Disney World. Let's talk about Lightning Lanes
- 2:29and Multi Pass. So the newest system at Disney
- 2:32World is called the Lightning Lane Multi Pass.
- 2:36And this pass will get you on about 90% of the rides at the
- 2:42Disney parks. This is the pass that you
- 2:44purchased to shorten those wait times.
- 2:46And the price for this pass does vary by day and by park.
- 2:51So Disney releases that information about 3 weeks out
- 2:57from your eligible date to book, which we'll talk about in just a
- 3:01few. So you can kind of see it ahead
- 3:03of time, but not super far in advance.
- 3:06The prices generally range anywhere from $20 a day to $40 a
- 3:12day for the multi pass price. So that is one part of the
- 3:18Lightning Lane system. The second part of your
- 3:21Lightning Lane system is the Lightning Lane single pass.
- 3:25The single pass will get you on one ride and it's like an A la
- 3:31carte is how we've always kind of referred to it as when we're
- 3:35talking about Lightning Lanes and that is a an extra ride
- 3:39outside of Multipass that you are paying an extra fee to be
- 3:43able to ride. These are your most popular
- 3:46attractions at every park. For Disney World.
- 3:49There are five in this category, and again, with these as well,
- 3:54the prices vary by day, anywhere from $11.00 per day, upwards of
- 4:01closer to $30 a day depending on the attraction, depending on the
- 4:05day. And as far as what rides are
- 4:07which and all of that, we'll get into that here in a little bit.
- 4:11But before I jump into all of that, I don't necessarily want
- 4:15to overload you with that information right now.
- 4:19We're going to talk about how to book and what that process kind
- 4:22of looks like. So when Disney released this
- 4:28Lightning Lane system, they brought back an old feature of
- 4:32fast pass from the past that allowed you to book ahead of
- 4:37time. So what that means is if you are
- 4:40a guest that is staying on Disney property, so at a Disney
- 4:45resort or the Swan, the Dolphin or shades of green which is the
- 4:51military resort that is at Disney, any of those options,
- 4:57you will be able to pre book your initial 3 multi pass rides
- 5:04seven days before your check in day and you will be able to book
- 5:10for the entire length of your stay up to 14 days.
- 5:13So if you have a trip that's longer than 14 days, you are
- 5:16going to have to split your lightning lane purchasing into
- 5:21two so that way you can get get the rides that you want on those
- 5:26later days in your trip. Now if you are someone who is
- 5:29staying off property not at a Disney resort, then you will be
- 5:34able to pre select your multi pass rides three days out from
- 5:40your first park day. So the day that you select for
- 5:44your ticket to become active, that is your first park day.
- 5:48So three days before that is when you are going to be able to
- 5:52book and you will be able to book for the amount of days that
- 5:57are on your ticket. So if you've got a three day
- 6:00ticket, you will be able to book three days worth of Lightning
- 6:04Lanes. So that is kind of the overall
- 6:09aspect for how to book and when to book.
- 6:14Do keep in mind that if you are a guest that is visiting the
- 6:18parks not from the United States, so you are coming from
- 6:23the UK, you are coming from Canada, Mexico, wherever it may
- 6:27be that is not from the United States.
- 6:30It gets a little tricky because they do not allow people that
- 6:35are outside of the US to do that pre selection.
- 6:39But if you are someone who, let's say you're visiting a
- 6:41couple different locations in the US, you're going to be in
- 6:44the US before you head to the Disney parks.
- 6:46If you are in the US anytime, seven days before your trip, if
- 6:50you're staying on property, then you'll be eligible to book.
- 6:54So basically as soon as you touchdown in the US and you are
- 6:59within your eligibility window that I talked about earlier,
- 7:02international guests, you will be able to book them.
- 7:05So it gets a little tricky with that, but that is the official
- 7:08ruling when it comes to international guests.
- 7:12A couple things to note about your pre selection for your
- 7:15booking and I will go through all of this again.
- 7:17I'm going to do like a tutorial walkthrough and let you guys see
- 7:20kind of how it works, but just a couple notes before we get to
- 7:24that. Travel parties will be able to
- 7:27select your ride times before you check out.
- 7:31This again was a newer feature that they offered with the new
- 7:34multi pass system. You can see and select all of
- 7:37your times before you purchase anything.
- 7:39So that is a really big benefit to this current system that is
- 7:43different from the previous system and that also includes
- 7:46your single pass lightning lane times as well.
- 7:49So for both multi pass and single pass, you will be able to
- 7:52you those times for the rides before you purchase.
- 7:57Just a quick note about your preselections.
- 8:01All preselected multi pass attractions must be the same for
- 8:07each member of your travel party if you're planning to book
- 8:10together. So if you've got a party that's
- 8:13larger that maybe doesn't want to do all of the same rides,
- 8:17you're not going to be able to book all of them together.
- 8:20You can only book together people that are riding the same
- 8:24rides from your pre selection. So that is really important when
- 8:29it comes to the ease and the ability to be able to book those
- 8:34lightning lanes on your eligibility morning.
- 8:36So keep that in mind. You kind of want to create
- 8:39separate groups if you need to. When it comes to multi pass,
- 8:42Single pass is a little bit easier to do if you're doing it
- 8:46separate because you can just select down through and again,
- 8:50I'll show you that in a moment. Do keep in mind that on the day
- 8:55of your park visit, you will become eligible to book
- 8:58additional rides as soon as you redeem your first multi pass
- 9:01ride. So as soon as you tap into
- 9:04whatever your first selection was, you will be eligible to
- 9:07book another one. You can basically always hold 3
- 9:11multi pass rides at one time. Single pass are not included in
- 9:14that, so don't get that confused if you see that you've got
- 9:17single pass rides on your plans as well.
- 9:20The multi pass rides are the ones that you're always going to
- 9:22be able to hold three at a time. Rides will sell out in that pre
- 9:28selection time period, so you want to make sure that you have
- 9:33your kind of plan ready to go so that way you can get what you
- 9:38want to get and you can get the best times because you always
- 9:41want to do your best to get morning times to start, because
- 9:44that will allow you to utilize the money that you're spending
- 9:47on multi pass to the full. You know ability that you have.
- 9:52Your times as your booking will be held for 5 minutes as you
- 9:55finalize and pay, but you want to select those top priority
- 9:58rides as soon as possible. 7:00 AM Eastern on your day of
- 10:03eligibility is when that opens. So just some notes about that.
- 10:07And just to know, if you're planning to park hop and
- 10:10planning to use multi pass, all of your pre selected multi pass
- 10:14attractions must be in the same park.
- 10:18So if you're starting at Magic Kingdom and planning on hopping
- 10:22to Hollywood Studios, you have to book all of your preselected
- 10:26rides at Magic Kingdom to start. Now day of after you have
- 10:30redeemed that first ride, you can modify and adjust and and
- 10:34tweak your plans after that. But for the preselection
- 10:38process, they have to all be at the same ride or sorry, the same
- 10:42park. There we go.
- 10:43So keep that in mind as you're making your plan and looking
- 10:46ahead to make sure that everybody has the rides that
- 10:50they want. They all have to start at that
- 10:51same park. Now at the parks, when it comes
- 10:57to ride selection, this is where things get complicated.
- 11:00Everything that I explained to you just now, pretty
- 11:03straightforward. But when it actually comes to
- 11:07booking the rides and looking at what your selections are and
- 11:11what your availability is, that's where it gets a little
- 11:14tricky. So there are 4 main parks.
- 11:16Of course, at Disney World, three of them have their rides
- 11:21split into two different tiers. So Magic Kingdom, Epcot and
- 11:27Hollywood Studios all have that set up for their lightning
- 11:32lanes. And this only really matters
- 11:35with your pre selection. They basically limit how many of
- 11:39the big popular attractions that you can get on your pre
- 11:42selection so that everybody gets a little bit of everything.
- 11:46Now Animal Kingdom is the odd one out.
- 11:49They are all one tier at Animal Kingdom so you don't have to
- 11:53worry about picking, you know, one from here and one from there
- 11:57when it comes to those ones. So what do those tiers look like
- 12:01and what does that mean? O with Multipass for your
- 12:04preselection, you can book 1 Tier 1 and two Tier 2 rides to
- 12:11create your 3 preselected attractions.
- 12:14Again, this is not talking about single pass.
- 12:17We'll get there in a moment. So for your multipass, for your
- 12:21preselection for Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios and Epcot, 1
- 12:25Tier 1 and two Tier 2. That being said, you could
- 12:29select 3 Tier 2 if you wanted to at either of those any of those
- 12:33parks, but you just can't have more than one in Tier 1.
- 12:37So something to keep in mind depending on your party's
- 12:40preference on what rides are looking to ride at any of these
- 12:43parks. Now, later on, I am going to
- 12:45talk about kind of what I think is the best course of action
- 12:49when it comes to Lightning Lanes, But let's just talk about
- 12:52what the tears look like for now.
- 12:54And then for each park, I'll give you kind of my strategy and
- 12:57my suggestion for your pre booking.
- 13:00So for Magic Kingdom, let's start with the biggest one.
- 13:03This one's got the most attractions.
- 13:04It's got the most kind of planning when it comes to
- 13:08booking, so let's talk about Magic Kingdom.
- 13:11So for the tiers for Magic Kingdom, Tier 1 is going to be
- 13:16Big Thunder Mountain when it reopens.
- 13:18It is currently down for refurb for the rest of 2025, but it is
- 13:22considered a Tier 1 attraction when it's open.
- 13:25Jungle Cruise, Peter Pan, Space Mountain, and Tiana's Bayou
- 13:31Adventure. So you've got those five rides
- 13:33in Tier 1 that you can select one of those for your pre
- 13:38booking. Now that does not mean that you
- 13:41won't be able to get one of those as a secondary option day
- 13:45of they are harder to get but not impossible.
- 13:50Now for Tier 2 at Magic Kingdom, you're going to find these
- 13:55rides, Barnstormer Buzz like here, Dumbo, Haunted Mansion,
- 13:59Small world, Mad Tea Party, magic carpets, many adventures
- 14:04of Winnie the Pooh, fill her magic laugh floor, Pirates of
- 14:08the Caribbean, the Tomorrowland Speedway and under the sea, the
- 14:13voyage of The Little Mermaid, longest name ever.
- 14:16So those are your Tier 2 attractions.
- 14:18So for your pre booking, those two are the one are those.
- 14:22That's the category that you're going to be able to pick two out
- 14:25of for your pre booking. So one tier 1-2 tier twos.
- 14:31That being said, this is where your strategy is really, really
- 14:35beneficial because if you can get some of the bigger rides
- 14:39kind of already pre planned and pre booked, then it's going to
- 14:44make your day at Magic Kingdom a lot easier.
- 14:47So I'm going to talk about kind of two different approaches to
- 14:51each park. One if you've got little kids
- 14:54and one if you've got older kids that kind of want maybe more
- 14:57thrill rides. So kind of going to give you a
- 14:59little bit of both and you can kind of decide how you want to
- 15:03mix and match. So for younger kids, here's my
- 15:08suggestion and here's what I would do for your tier one.
- 15:13I would pick between Jungle Cruise and Peter Pan.
- 15:17So those are going to be your top 2 choices for your little
- 15:21kids that are visiting. And it's really going to depend
- 15:26on which you prefer. Those rides are both very
- 15:30difficult to get later in the day, or they can be, right.
- 15:34It's always going to depend on the crowds.
- 15:36It's always going to depend on how many people are using
- 15:38lightning lanes for any given day.
- 15:41But those are the two that you're going to want to look
- 15:43between for your little kids. Now for your Tier 2, I would do
- 15:49something like Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh and Pirates
- 15:53of the Caribbean. Those are two of the most
- 15:56popular ones for that. So those are two of the ones
- 16:00that I would pick. You could also debate about
- 16:03adding like a Buzz Lightyear in there as well.
- 16:07Or if your kids like Haunted Mansion, that would be another
- 16:10choice as well. So kind of those four would be
- 16:15the suggestions for Tier 2 and you're going to want to just
- 16:17pick whichever ones are most appealing to your travel party.
- 16:22So that is kind of your little kid advice for Magic Kingdom.
- 16:28For older kids, kids that are more thrill seekers, I would
- 16:35highly suggest for your tier one doing Big Thunder Mountain or
- 16:42Tiana's Bayou Adventure. A lot of people are going to say
- 16:46well what about Space Mountain? Space Mountain of the tier one
- 16:50rides tends to have the most availability later in the day.
- 16:55So I don't tend to book Space Mountain as a tier one for that
- 17:01reason. The other thing to really think
- 17:04about with your older kids especially and somewhat with
- 17:06your younger kids is you may decide to rope drop.
- 17:09We've talked about rope drop and early entry.
- 17:11You may decide to rope drop one of the rides that are on that
- 17:14tier one list. Then don't book it and book
- 17:17something different. So if you're planning to rope
- 17:19drop Space Mountain, you don't need to book it, but Big Thunder
- 17:24Mountain and Tiana's Bayou Adventure are both going to open
- 17:28at park open and not be open for early entry.
- 17:30Which is part of the reason why I highly suggest those for your
- 17:34tier one. Now for your Tier 2 for your
- 17:38older kiddos, there are not as many thrill rides on your Tier
- 17:412, but I would suggest Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted
- 17:47Mansion. Those would be your two, your
- 17:49your best use of of your pre booking for your older kids at
- 17:55Magic Kingdom. So again, those are my 2
- 17:59suggestions, but it's really highly going to depend on what
- 18:03your party is wanting and which rides most appeal to your travel
- 18:08group. So that's kind of Magic Kingdom
- 18:12in a nutshell here. After I kind of talk through all
- 18:15the parks, I am going to go through a tutorial and show you
- 18:21step by step how to actually physically go through and do it
- 18:24on the app. But we're just going to talk
- 18:26about kind of theoreticals here for a little bit before I get to
- 18:29that point. So that is Magic Kingdom kind of
- 18:33two different strategies that I would suggest.
- 18:35Now I will note that after you tap in for that first ride, you
- 18:43will be able to grab any tier ride after that.
- 18:47So I mentioned this earlier that the tiers really only matter for
- 18:50your pre booking. After your whole party has
- 18:53tapped in, your whole party will then be eligible for your next
- 18:56ride and it can be any ride from any tier after that.
- 19:01So that's what I was mentioning about something like Space
- 19:04Mountain. It's going to have more
- 19:05availability later in the day because not everybody is on top
- 19:10of booking their next ride after they tap in.
- 19:13So that is a big key thing to to getting the most out of your
- 19:17lightning lanes. So that's Magic Kingdom.
- 19:20Let's talk about Epcot. With Epcot, again, you have two
- 19:24tiers of rides that you can look at for your pre booking.
- 19:29Tier one currently is Frozen Ever After, Remy's Ratatouille
- 19:36Adventure Soaring and then likely to be Test Track.
- 19:43Now Test track is slated to open summer in quotes of this year.
- 19:49We don't have an opening date. We don't have any information
- 19:52about it yet. So we'll see what happens.
- 19:57But we we are anticipating test track being Tier 1.
- 20:00I don't know for sure what they're going to do, so we'll
- 20:03have to wait and see. Kind of what what happens with
- 20:08that and how that maybe shifts things at Epcot.
- 20:11So when that information comes out, I will give you guys an
- 20:14update for that. But I'm going to go with kind of
- 20:16what is currently available towards the end of May 2025 for
- 20:21booking. So Tier 1 is Frozen, Remy and
- 20:23Sauron. Tier 2 is the Pixar Short Film
- 20:27Festival imagination with Figment, living with the Land,
- 20:31Mission Space, the seas with Nemo, Spaceship Earth, and
- 20:35Turtle Talk. So that's your Tier 2 options
- 20:40for that. Let's talk about my strategy
- 20:44suggestions here for younger kids.
- 20:49I it's really hard with Epcot because of Frozen and Remy both
- 20:55being on that Tier 1. Here's what I do know from all
- 20:59of my experience doing this, and I didn't really talk much about
- 21:03that, but I have a lot of experience helping people plan
- 21:05lightning lanes. I've been doing this for a
- 21:07while, so I have a lot of experience and I've seen a lot
- 21:11of things happen in the parks. So with my experience, Remy is a
- 21:17lot harder of a time to get for lightning lanes.
- 21:23What I mean by that is very rarely can you get a time later
- 21:28in the day after you've already started using your lightning
- 21:31lanes for Remy. Frozen is more likely, still
- 21:36pretty tricky, but much more likely.
- 21:38So I'm always going to suggest for your tier one to book Remy
- 21:43if that's a ride that you guys want to do because your chances
- 21:46are better at getting a Frozen time later in the day and Frozen
- 21:52tends to be a shorter wait than Remy in comparison.
- 21:56Not always the case. It's always going to depend on
- 21:59the day in the crowds, but overall Frozen tends to be a
- 22:03shorter wait. Also, I would highly suggest
- 22:06rope dropping frozen if you are someone who wants to do it and
- 22:09you're using lightning lanes. Book Remy and rope drop frozen.
- 22:13So Remy would be my tier one for little kids.
- 22:16Then for your Tier 2 a couple options.
- 22:19You could do the seas with Nemo, you could do Figment, you could
- 22:23do spaceship Earth. Those would be my three
- 22:25suggestions to pick two of for your group depending on what
- 22:29they would like to do for older kids at Epcot.
- 22:33Again, I really highly suggest doing Remy for your tier one if
- 22:38that's something that they want to ride.
- 22:40Now I know I didn't mention Sauron.
- 22:42Here's the thing with Sauron, Sauron, you can tend to find it
- 22:46at a lower weight more frequently than Remy and frozen.
- 22:50And in the morning especially, you can tend to find it for the
- 22:53first probably hour to maybe 2 of park open.
- 22:57You can tend to find it at a lower weight.
- 22:59So I tend to just suggest rope dropping or like the second
- 23:04option in your rope drop if you go to frozen first, then going
- 23:08to Sauron second or waiting and doing Sauron later in the
- 23:11afternoon when some of the the times have dropped because a lot
- 23:14of people have migrated out to World Showcase in Epcot, that
- 23:17would be your time to look at Sauron.
- 23:19So Sauron is a little bit easier to do standby and much, much
- 23:22easier to get a time later in the day for.
- 23:25So with your older kids, they do suggest your tier one being Remy
- 23:29and then for Tier 2 I would look at something like mission space
- 23:34if you've got kids that are wanting to do that.
- 23:38It's a very controversial attraction because it can be a
- 23:42little intense. Green is the less intense side,
- 23:45Orange is extremely intense. So keep that in mind.
- 23:49And then after that it's really your group choice.
- 23:51If there are people who enjoy something like Figment, Nemo,
- 23:55living with the land, any of those options are really great.
- 23:58So that's kind of my suggestion for older kids.
- 24:01Again, none of that included test track because we just don't
- 24:05know what's going to happen with that reopening and what tier
- 24:08it's going to be in. So I really can't speculate
- 24:12about test track until that kind of happens.
- 24:15So that is Epcot in a nutshell. Let's move on now to Hollywood
- 24:20Studios. This is the third park and the
- 24:22last of our two tiered parks. So again, Hollywood Studios is
- 24:27split into two tiers. Tier 1 includes Mickey and
- 24:31Minnie's Runaway Railway, Millennium Falcon, Smugglers Run
- 24:36Rock and Roller Coaster, and Slinky Dog Dash.
- 24:39Those are all of your tier one rides, which that is a big list
- 24:44and I'm going to talk here in a minute about some options for
- 24:47that. Tier 2 includes Aliens, Rolling
- 24:51Saucers, the Beauty and the Beast Show, the Disney Junior
- 24:55Show, the Frozen Sing Along, the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt
- 24:59Spectacular Show, Star Tours, Tower of Terror and Toy Story
- 25:05Mania. So those are all of your Tier 2
- 25:08rides at Hollywood Studios. This park is a bear.
- 25:13It is so tricky. And so it really just determine
- 25:20is really is your success is really determined by this pre
- 25:23booking. So let's talk about a couple
- 25:26things with this. Your younger kids, it's going to
- 25:31depend on height at this park a lot.
- 25:34So of your tier one options, Runaway Railway is the only one
- 25:40that does not have a height requirement.
- 25:43Smugglers Run is 38 inches, Rock and Roller Coaster is 48 inches
- 25:47and Slinky Dog is 38 inches. So that is going to heavily
- 25:52influence what your tier one booking is for your younger
- 25:56kids. Now, if all four of those are an
- 26:00option for your group, Slinky Dog has got to be #1 it is the
- 26:06hardest multi pass ride across all of the parks to get when it
- 26:11comes to your pre booking. Even if you're quick on it,
- 26:15you're probably going to get an afternoon time and that's OK for
- 26:18that one. But Slinky Dog, if that is a is
- 26:23a ride you guys are doing, that has to be your priority for your
- 26:27tier one ride. Now Runaway Railway I know is
- 26:32another really great option up there if you've got littles.
- 26:36That one is easier to get one of two ways.
- 26:40You can rope drop it very easily or you will be able to pull a
- 26:44later time after you've started using your lightning lanes for
- 26:48that more easily than you will for something like Slinky Dog.
- 26:52So with little kids, either Slinky Dog would be your top
- 26:55priority or Runaway Railway if you are not either tall enough
- 26:59to ride Slinky Dog or not interested in riding Slinky Dog.
- 27:03After that for your Tier 2 for little kids, I would do
- 27:08something like Toy Story Mania Alien Swirling Saucers.
- 27:12That does have a height requirement of 32 inches.
- 27:14So keep that in mind. And then my other option for
- 27:17that would be like the Frozen Sing Along.
- 27:21I don't typically recommend using Lightning Lanes for shows,
- 27:26but at Hollywood Studios you have a lot of shows on that
- 27:30second tier. So it really, it really can make
- 27:33sense for your group if you've got younger kids that can't do
- 27:36some of those bigger rides that have those height requirements
- 27:40on them. Now for older kids at Hollywood
- 27:44Studios, this park is significantly harder to navigate
- 27:49with older kids. So again tier one has to be
- 27:53Slinky Dog. That is the hardest 1 to get.
- 27:56You've got to go for that one for your pre booking.
- 28:00When it comes to tier one for Tier 2 I always suggest Tower of
- 28:05Terror and Toy Story Mania. Those are your two other best
- 28:08options for your older kids that are visiting the parks that want
- 28:12those thrills and enjoy doing some of those bigger rides.
- 28:16After that, you really just have to go in order of priority and
- 28:20see what's available as far as your next booking after you use
- 28:24your first at Hollywood Studios. That park is so tricky and it's
- 28:29it's really frustrating because, and I'll get into this more in a
- 28:34little bit, but the Lightning Lanes are immensely helpful at
- 28:38Hollywood Studios, but only for a select little group of rides,
- 28:43which is a little frustrating when you're looking at getting
- 28:46the most money's worth out of your Lightning Lanes.
- 28:49So it's tricky. Like I said, we're going to talk
- 28:52a little bit more about that momentarily.
- 28:55I'm going to go through Animal Kingdom and then I'm going to
- 28:59give you guys kind of a walkthrough tutorial and look at
- 29:04the actual app and how that looks when it comes to booking
- 29:07both A2 Tier Park and Animal Kingdom, which does not have
- 29:10tiers. So let's talk about Animal
- 29:12Kingdom. All of the rides that are
- 29:14included in Multi Pass are all on one tier, so you can select
- 29:19three out of this this whole list.
- 29:23So the ones that are included on multi Pass are Dinosaur for now
- 29:28until it closes after the end of this year.
- 29:31We don't have a a set date I don't think yet for Dinosaur to
- 29:35close. So for now it's on their
- 29:38expedition, Everest feathered friends and flight show,
- 29:42Festival of The Lion King show, the Finding Nemo musical, Cali
- 29:46River Rapids, the Kilimanjaro Safari and Navi River journey.
- 29:50Those are your attractions that are included on your multi pass.
- 29:55So for animal Kingdom with your younger kids, my suggestions
- 30:00would be Navi, River Journey, the Safari, and then either Lion
- 30:09King or Finding Nemo, whichever one interests you more.
- 30:13Look at the show times for that and see what lightning lane time
- 30:17makes the most sense for your group to try to attend.
- 30:20That will help you get a guaranteed seat as long as you
- 30:25arrive within your Lightning Lane window for that show.
- 30:29So for little kids, those would be my suggestions.
- 30:31And really those are my suggestions because some of the
- 30:34other rides have height requirements.
- 30:37So if you've got littles that don't meet those height
- 30:39requirements, that's your best options.
- 30:41For Animal Kingdom, for older kids, you are going to want to
- 30:46book again the Safari. I always suggest booking the
- 30:49Safari and booking it for as early as possible because we're
- 30:53going to see the most movement and the most action from the
- 30:56animals that live on the Savannah.
- 30:59So you you definitely want to book your safari time early in
- 31:01the morning. You can also get good rides if
- 31:06it's closer to dinner time, so 4:00 or 5:00 as well if it's not
- 31:11too hot. It just depends.
- 31:13And then also for your older kiddos, I would book Expedition
- 31:16Everest and then I would book for now Dinosaur.
- 31:21But once Dinosaur goes away, then you could look at something
- 31:24like Navi River Journey as a really fun boat ride option for
- 31:28your older kiddos as well. So that is kind of my
- 31:32suggestions for Animal Kingdom and the other parks before that.
- 31:37Now let's talk about how to actually physically book and
- 31:41what that looks like on the app. OK, so let's talk about how you
- 31:46actually book. So first thing to know is you're
- 31:49going to want to do the My Disney Experience app.
- 31:52This is the iPad version. It looks a tiny bit different.
- 31:55Just the fact that this menu is normally at the bottom on your
- 31:59phone. So you may see the little plus
- 32:02sign in home screen down at the bottom.
- 32:03Just keep that in mind. It's a little bit different.
- 32:06So when you are booking your lightning lanes now, right now I
- 32:10have a trip coming up so I have already booked some.
- 32:14You can see that it says right here your experiences are
- 32:16booked. If you haven't, it will just
- 32:18give you a banner right here that says lightning lanes.
- 32:21So we're going to click this Lightning Lane passes and it is
- 32:26going to bring us to typically not that page because you
- 32:32haven't booked any yet. It's going to bring us to a page
- 32:35that looks like this. This is going to be your
- 32:37calendar. So this is where I was showing
- 32:40you guys are telling you guys earlier that it will give you
- 32:43the price a little bit in advance.
- 32:46So I can slide out here as of right now all the way out to mid
- 32:50June and I can see what those prices are going to be for every
- 32:56park. If I just select this little
- 32:58here, I can see that on this day, June 12th, here are my
- 33:03price breakdowns for all of the parks.
- 33:05So that's the way to look ahead of time.
- 33:07Again, you can see it about 3:00-ish weeks out, but that is
- 33:12what that is going to look like. So I'm going to select a date
- 33:17that I know I'm eligible to book, but I don't have anything
- 33:20booked because it's not a parks day for me.
- 33:23So once I select my date, then down here I can select my park.
- 33:30So let's look at, for example, I talked about Hollywood Studios
- 33:35being the hardest one to book. Let's look at Hollywood studios.
- 33:39So let's for now, we're only going to look at our multi pass
- 33:43options. We will talk about single passes
- 33:45in just a moment. So I'm going to click here and
- 33:48I'm going to hit continue. After that, it's going to ask
- 33:52who is included. I'm not going to Scroll down
- 33:55because you don't need to see all the people on my list.
- 33:57But right now it just has me selected.
- 34:00So I'm going to hit continue because that's who I want to
- 34:03book for. Here's where the tiers come in.
- 34:07You can see at the top this is my Tier 1, so select up to one
- 34:14of your three from this group. So I'm going to select Slinky
- 34:19Dog because like I said, that one is the hardest one to book
- 34:24across all of property. Now I can Scroll down.
- 34:28Oh, you can also see that that grayed out these options up here
- 34:31because I am no longer eligible to book those.
- 34:34That would happen no matter which of those top options I
- 34:37selected. So just keep that in mind.
- 34:39It's kind of a little bit foolproof with that, which is
- 34:41helpful. So then I Scroll down here and I
- 34:43can see all of my other options. So I'm going to book like I am
- 34:47booking for my family. I have two kiddos.
- 34:50They are both thrill seekers. They both meet the height
- 34:53requirements for these particular attractions.
- 34:56So I'm going to select Tower of Terror and I'm going to select
- 34:59Toy Story Mania. Now you can see that once I got
- 35:02my three, these ones also grayed out.
- 35:04So it's not going to let you select more than 3 when it comes
- 35:07to those selections. So I'm going to hit continue.
- 35:13This is where it's going to give me my times.
- 35:16So this will auto give you whatever times are available.
- 35:23You can see additional options by clicking that modify time and
- 35:29selecting from there. So let's say I wanted to see
- 35:33what was available in the five O clock hour.
- 35:35I have a 5A520 and a 540 available.
- 35:39I'm going to leave it at that two O 5 or I'm going to change
- 35:42it to two O 5. And you can see up here it
- 35:44changed. Let's look at Toy Story Mania.
- 35:46It gave me a three to four. I'm going to check in here very
- 35:50quickly just to make sure. Now, it will likely give you the
- 35:54earliest time available. However, this system will not
- 36:00overlap lightning lanes more than about 15 minutes.
- 36:06So you could see that my lightning lanes when it first
- 36:08gave me, I had a two to three, a three to four and a four to
- 36:12five. It's not going to let me overlap
- 36:15those for the pre booking day of.
- 36:19You can overlap no problem, but the pre booking selections will
- 36:23not let you overlap. Don't ask me why, it's just the
- 36:27way Disney did their system. So let's say I want to do OK,
- 36:31I'm going to leave the 3:00 for Toy Story.
- 36:33So I'm just going to keep going after that.
- 36:36And now let's see, I want to do look at my times for Tower of
- 36:41Terror. So it's giving me a 340.
- 36:46So you can see that I overlapped by about 20 minutes.
- 36:49That's about as much as it's going to give you when it comes
- 36:52to overlapping. So once I have selected my
- 36:56times, you can see up here my timer has been going as I've
- 37:00been selecting. So I said that it will give you
- 37:025 minutes to make your time selections.
- 37:06So you will have 5 minutes with these rides.
- 37:08Now that being said, if you're trying to modify times, those
- 37:12times will go fast. So I always say, and whenever I
- 37:16do it, I do exactly what I just did.
- 37:18So let's say I popped into this for the first time, I'm going to
- 37:21go modify. I'm going to look nothing
- 37:22earlier. OK, I'm going to go modify.
- 37:25I'm going to look OK, I don't see anything earlier than that
- 37:27time. Perfect.
- 37:28I'm going to do the same thing down here.
- 37:30Nothing is earlier, perfect. OK, I'm done.
- 37:32I'm going to go ahead and book. So it needs to be that quick and
- 37:36you need to just push your times as early in your day as you
- 37:40possibly can. After that, I'm going to hit
- 37:44continue and then I would pay. So that in a nutshell, is
- 37:48booking a three or sorry, A2 tier option when it comes to
- 37:55lightning lanes. Now let's look at what animal
- 37:58Kingdom looks like. Animal Kingdom is much, much,
- 38:01much easier. So I'm going to go same day.
- 38:04I'm going to go down here. I'm going to select multi pass
- 38:07for animal Kingdom. You can see for on this
- 38:09particular date at 16 per guest, I'm going to let that select
- 38:14just me. Again, you can Scroll down and
- 38:16see your whole friends and family list underneath this
- 38:20eligible party option here. So you can see from here they're
- 38:24all in one group and it says select up to three from this
- 38:28group very easy. So I'm going to go through and
- 38:31for my group, I would do the safari, I would do Everest and I
- 38:36would do dinosaur. And again, after I select my 3,
- 38:40it's going to Gray out those other options.
- 38:42I'm going to hit continue and again, same thing I'm going to
- 38:46look OK, 2O clock is my earliest time.
- 38:48Oh well, they've got A2 fourty. Let's save that and then safari.
- 38:53Now Safari is the tricky one because if you look, I'm
- 38:59actually going to move that one out because this is going to
- 39:02give me some of the last Safari times.
- 39:04My guess is Safari closes at about 5:45 or 6 this night
- 39:09because that's typical for Animal Kingdom and for the
- 39:14Safari. So I want to be able to ride it
- 39:16towards the end of the night for that particular ride, normally I
- 39:20would look and I would go, oh, A320, I want that because it's
- 39:23earlier, but not for the Safari. So it's a little bit of an
- 39:26anomaly with that one. And then again, I would hit
- 39:29continue, my payment options would pop up and I would hit
- 39:32pay. And then at the end it would say
- 39:35like booking confirmed or something along the lines of
- 39:37that. Same thing again up here.
- 39:39I have a 5 minute window for my times or for my rides and then I
- 39:45can go in and modify my times as needed.
- 39:48So let's talk now about single passes.
- 39:51So everything we talked about up to this point is multi pass.
- 39:57All of the rides. The way you book all of that is
- 40:00all multi pass. So what about single passes?
- 40:03So there are five attractions that are considered single
- 40:06passes at the Disney Parks 2IN Magic Kingdom.
- 40:11And then one in the other remaining parks.
- 40:13So the rides that are considered single pass again, these are an
- 40:17additional fee on top of the multi pass price. 7 Dwarves Mine
- 40:22Train at Magic Kingdom, Tron Light Cycle run at Magic
- 40:25Kingdom, Guardians of the Galaxy, Cosmic Rewind at Epcot,
- 40:29Rise of the Resistance at Hollywood Studios, and Flight of
- 40:33Passage, Avatar Flight of Passage at Animal Kingdom.
- 40:40The thing about the single passes is you really just have
- 40:42to look at your budget and see what you think.
- 40:46And also they all have height requirements.
- 40:48So you have to look at those height requirements depending on
- 40:51your travel party to see whether or not that's something that you
- 40:54want to go ahead and book or something that you want to look
- 40:58into. So those five rides are the ones
- 41:01that are on there. Now as far as booking those,
- 41:05it's going to look almost identical as what it did for
- 41:08what we just looked at for multi Pass.
- 41:10You're going to go into the calendar, you're going to pick
- 41:12the date, you're going to select the the park and the attraction
- 41:18that you want, select your time, go through and and check out all
- 41:22that good stuff. So that part looks the same.
- 41:26Just a note that you can book those together, multi pass and
- 41:31single pass. But remember everyone that
- 41:35you're booking in any given transaction has to be booking
- 41:40all of the same rides or else it will not work that way.
- 41:44You'll have to do it in different shifts.
- 41:45So for example, I booked earlier this week my lightning lanes for
- 41:52my upcoming family trip. There are ten of us going.
- 41:55There are nine of us that are going to be utilizing multi
- 42:00pass. And I looked at everyone's
- 42:03options of what they wanted to ride and I selected I made our
- 42:06pre selections for multi pass. That way I had to do our single
- 42:10passes in separate transactions. So I had to do like when we
- 42:16booked for Seven Dwarfs, we had a different combination of our
- 42:21travel party that wanted that ride.
- 42:24Same with Tron, same with Guardians of the Galaxy.
- 42:27So all of my single pass rides from my particular situation
- 42:31were all booked as separate transactions because I had a
- 42:34different combination of people that wanted to ride all of those
- 42:38different single pass rides. But if you've got a travel party
- 42:42that you're all wanting to ride the exact same rides, it's much
- 42:45easier that way, unfortunately, because you can just go through
- 42:48with one single transaction for that.
- 42:51So keep those things in mind. Another really important thing
- 42:57that I want to kind of and this section of the podcast and kind
- 43:02of go more into the Q&A section of the podcast is if let's say
- 43:09for example, you all have a ride booked at 10:40, I'm going to
- 43:18use my trip as an example here. So if we look here, OK, my times
- 43:26for our Magic Kingdom day, I have Pirates of the Caribbean
- 43:3210:50 to 11:50. Let's say something happens.
- 43:37I have nine people booked for this ride.
- 43:40Let's say something happens and two of them either change their
- 43:45mind or are late to the park or are at a different part of the
- 43:50park and not with us and they don't end up getting to ride.
- 43:56For your first ride, it is extremely vital that everybody
- 44:03taps into that ride, regardless of if they are actually
- 44:07physically riding. That is a big flaw in the Disney
- 44:12Lightning Lane system that gets a lot of people having to go to
- 44:18see guest relations because their Lightning Lanes will not
- 44:21allow them to book their next attraction.
- 44:26So let me say that again, if everybody that is booked for
- 44:32your first ride only has to tap into that first ride, regardless
- 44:41of if they physically ride it or not, in order to be able to open
- 44:48your eligibility for every ride after.
- 44:51Because what will happen is if, let's say six of us tap in for
- 44:57Pirates and the other three either don't or we try to just
- 45:04cancel their time, the Disney system will not have viewed it
- 45:08as them tapping in and it will not open them up to book a tier
- 45:15one ride next because they'll it'll say they already have a
- 45:19tier one ride because they do. Tiana's Bayou Adventure is down
- 45:22here on that list. So it messes with the system if
- 45:26you don't do that. That is only true for the first
- 45:30ride each day afterwards. Let's say something happened
- 45:33with Winnie the Pooh and two people decided they didn't want
- 45:36to ride it. You can just cancel theirs at
- 45:38that point, but the first ride has to be tapped into by
- 45:45everybody in your travel party in order to fully unlock your
- 45:49ability to book your next additional ride.
- 45:53I hope that makes sense. Like I said, it is one of the
- 45:56biggest flaws in the Disney system and it's super
- 46:00frustrating because not everybody knows about it and
- 46:03Disney doesn't publicize it very well.
- 46:05OK, so I hope that all makes sense when it comes to
- 46:08physically booking your multi pass rides, booking your single
- 46:12pass rides, some tips and tricks, some do's and don'ts
- 46:15when it comes to booking those. I am going to move now into just
- 46:20a few little Q and as, and then I am going to open it up to my
- 46:24live audience who is here with me while I record live on TikTok
- 46:30if they've got questions that I can help answer as well.
- 46:33And I'm going to throw out a few kind of FAQs, I guess, so to
- 46:37speak. Some things that are kind of
- 46:39frequently asked that I want to go over before we end our time
- 46:43talking about Lightning Lanes. So the first question that I
- 46:47want to talk about is, can more than one person help book
- 46:50Lightning Lanes on the same account?
- 46:52And the answer to that is absolutely yes, Disney does not
- 46:56limit how many people you can have logged into any Disney
- 47:00account at a time. And you can absolutely go in and
- 47:04kind of divide and conquer. So if you and a friend or you
- 47:08and your spouse or your partner or you and your teenager want to
- 47:13divide up the Lightning Lane purchasing on your account, you
- 47:20can absolutely do that. It will not mess with the system
- 47:23and the system will not allow you to like double book
- 47:26something. It will.
- 47:28It will let you know like, hey, you already booked that for the
- 47:30day. Move on and do something else.
- 47:32So you can absolutely divide and conquer under the same account.
- 47:36Login for that. The other really big question
- 47:40that I know a lot of people ask is should I book lightning
- 47:45lanes? And here's my biggest
- 47:48suggestions when it comes to lightning lanes.
- 47:52First of all, it really depends on your travel party.
- 47:55If you've got a group with a lot of littles and those littles are
- 47:58not accustomed to waiting in lines, it's probably a good idea
- 48:03to check the budget and see what you think you're able to afford.
- 48:07That being said, if I were to kind of rank the parks for
- 48:13Lightning Lanes as far as the one that I think you needed the
- 48:16most at, down to the ones I think you needed the least at, I
- 48:22would say, again, this depends on your travel party.
- 48:27So refer back to those tears and those suggestions I was giving
- 48:30you earlier for little kids and older kids at each park and see
- 48:34how many of those rides you think you're going to want to
- 48:36do. But I would say at the top for
- 48:41your choice for Lightning lanes would be Magic Kingdom at #1 for
- 48:45me because it's got the most rides.
- 48:48And you can, I feel like you can accomplish the most at Magic
- 48:50Kingdom and get the most out of your money that you're spending.
- 48:54So Magic Kingdom would be first for me.
- 48:56Hollywood Studios would easily be second because it has so many
- 49:00top thrill attractions that are very hard to get on without
- 49:05having Lightning Lanes. So Hollywood Studios would be #2
- 49:09for me, Epcot would be 3. I don't think you necessarily
- 49:14need lightning lanes at Epcot. I think if you can utilize rope
- 49:18drop, you're going to be fine with that.
- 49:21Or if you can utilize something like the single rider line at
- 49:24Remy, that is an option as well. We didn't really get into single
- 49:28rider lines because we weren't really focusing on that, but
- 49:30there is one at Remy that can help if your party is
- 49:33comfortable splitting up. I don't necessarily think you
- 49:37need them at Epcot if you utilize your early park entry
- 49:40and kind of make the most of your plans according to your top
- 49:46priority rides. And then Animal Kingdom would be
- 49:51my bottom if I'm ranking them simply just because again, if
- 49:57you utilize early entry, you can get a lot done at that park.
- 50:02And there are some options as far as like Expedition Everest
- 50:06has a single rider line. The shows do tend to help with
- 50:11crowds so some of the attractions don't get lines that
- 50:14are as long and a lot of the attractions there have higher
- 50:17capacity so they can get through lines more quickly.
- 50:20That being said, as far as the single passes, I really do
- 50:26believe that they're all worth it.
- 50:29So again, the five single passes, 7 dwarves, Tron, Cosmic
- 50:32Rewind, Rise of the Resistance, and Flight of Passage.
- 50:35I do suggest looking at your budget to figure out those at a
- 50:39minimum because those rides can eat up an entire half of your
- 50:45day at some of these parks. On really busy days of Animal
- 50:49Kingdom, flight of passages is 2 to 3 hours.
- 50:54Cosmic Rewind just recently went off of virtual queue.
- 50:57It's wait time has been consistently an hour, 2 hours
- 51:00when it comes to that. So being able to budget for
- 51:04those single passes can really save you time in the parks when
- 51:07time is very crucial as far as that goes.
- 51:11So that's kind of my answer, non answer when it comes to should I
- 51:17book them and are they worth it? I do think they can be at
- 51:22specific parks. So that's kind of my take on
- 51:26that, if you will. Another question that I get a
- 51:30lot is how does Lightning Lane work with the rider swap or
- 51:35rider Switch options at Disney? And that is a really great
- 51:39question because I know it can be confusing.
- 51:41So if you don't know what rider Switch is, Rider switch is the
- 51:45process that they have at Disney where if you've got a kiddo who
- 51:49is too short or too scared or doesn't want to ride a certain
- 51:52attraction, you can see the cast member at the beginning.
- 51:56They will scan the ticket of the person who is waiting with the
- 52:01child who does not want to or is not big enough or old enough to
- 52:04ride. The first adult will then go and
- 52:08ride the attraction. They will either wait in the
- 52:10standby line if they do not have a lightning lane, or they will
- 52:13go through the lightning lane to be able to go to the attraction.
- 52:20When the cast member scans the ticket of the adult who's
- 52:23waiting, that gives them access to the lightning lane line.
- 52:27So let's say for example we're trying to do 7 dwarves mine
- 52:33train. The wait is an hour.
- 52:35My kids too short, they can't wait an hour in line.
- 52:37Anyway, I'm going to go take them to go do something else
- 52:41while my husband waits in the standby line.
- 52:44I'm going to get my card scanned by the cast member so that way
- 52:49after my husband has ridden, I will be able to go through the
- 52:53lightning lane line to access the ride faster and not have to
- 52:57wait an additional 60 minutes or more if it's gone up at that
- 53:01point. That's kind of how the system
- 53:03was set up to function when it comes to Lightning lanes.
- 53:08Both of the adult groups that are riding the ride must have
- 53:16the lightning lane for the attraction.
- 53:17You cannot use rider switch if your second adult does not have
- 53:21a lightning lane and your first adult did OK.
- 53:25So keep that in mind as you are planning accordingly for that to
- 53:29happen. Where it gets a little tricky is
- 53:35do you need to do rider switch if you're using Lightning lanes?
- 53:39I say yes, simply because you may be at the end of your
- 53:43Lightning Lane window and you don't want for the cast member
- 53:46to say that you're now ineligible to go through the
- 53:49Lightning lane line because your time is expired.
- 53:51So I always suggest going ahead and doing the rider switch.
- 53:54It takes less than two minutes to get that set up, even if you
- 53:58are using Lightning Lanes, just to be sure that you are still
- 54:02within that eligibility window. So that way the cast members
- 54:05don't have to do any overrides on their system and you can just
- 54:08go through as you're supposed to go.
- 54:10So I hope that makes sense when it comes to rider switch.
- 54:14Another question that I get often asked is how do the photos
- 54:17work with lightning lanes? So at the Walt Disney Parks you
- 54:22get with your multi pass purchase you get ride photos and
- 54:27attraction photos included. So anything that has a photo or
- 54:31like some of them do, like little video montages, anything
- 54:35that has that on the attraction, you are going to get included
- 54:39with that price. You do not get character meet
- 54:43and greets included with that price.
- 54:45So that's something to consider. If you are looking to do
- 54:49Lightning Lanes, you get some photos but not all.
- 54:53So if you're planning to do character meets, you definitely
- 54:55want to look into Photo Pass and Memory Maker.
- 55:00So just keep that in mind as well.
- 55:04The last question that I get a lot is how do I modify my times?
- 55:09So let's talk about modification.
- 55:13So after you have booked your lightning lanes, this is what
- 55:16they're going to look like. Again, I'm just going to use
- 55:18this Magic Kingdom Day as an example.
- 55:21So let's say I want to modify my time for Winnie the Pooh.
- 55:25Let's see what happens. I'm going to click into it.
- 55:28And then down here I should I should show you how I got here
- 55:31before we do that a couple different ways that you can get
- 55:35to see your lightning lanes. The 1st is by clicking this up
- 55:40here. If you click that, it is going
- 55:43to take you back to that page that I was just at and it's
- 55:46going to show you your list of everything.
- 55:49You can also click your little plus sign and at the bottom
- 55:56here, it's going to show view my Genie day and tip board.
- 56:00This will work the day of. So if I'm going to go here, this
- 56:06is going to show me the current day of and then I'm going to be
- 56:09able to tap that my day and it's going to bring up my plans for
- 56:12that day of. So two different places that you
- 56:15can go. Sorry, that's not loading.
- 56:17It's taking a while, but two different places that you can go
- 56:20for that. So I'm going to go back this way
- 56:21because it shows me mine more easily since I'm not day of yet.
- 56:26So let's say I want to modify my Winnie the Pooh time.
- 56:28I'm going to click into the ride.
- 56:30Then it's going to pull up this little menu right here and I'm
- 56:33going to click modify plan. Then it's going to take me to a
- 56:37screen that looks similar to the screen that we looked at before
- 56:43where it comes to times, but a little bit different.
- 56:46So it's going to give me two different modify options.
- 56:49It's going to give me a time, a chance to or an option, sorry.
- 56:53It's going to give me two different options to modify.
- 56:56It's going to give me the option to change my time of my current
- 56:59ride or it's going to give me the option to select a new
- 57:03experience. Keep in mind, if this is before
- 57:06you have tapped into your first ride for the day, it will still
- 57:10be limited by the tiers. So we talked about that earlier.
- 57:13If this is after you've already started tapping in for the day,
- 57:16it will not be limited by tiers. But let's say I just want to
- 57:20look at the times. So I'm going to click here and
- 57:23it's going to then bring up my other plans that I have and I'm
- 57:27going to click this little modify and see what other times
- 57:30are available. I'm going to select whichever
- 57:33time I want and I'm going to hit this blue will light up and
- 57:36it'll say save new time. Now, if you don't see a time you
- 57:40want, you can simply just click this and click go back and your
- 57:45time is still booked there. So until you hit that last
- 57:49confirm, it's not going to modify it for you.
- 57:52You have to go through like two more confirms to be able to get
- 57:56to that point. This also works for single pass
- 58:01rides. So let's look at let's say 7
- 58:05dwarfs. Again, I'm going to tap the
- 58:08ride. I'm going to tap modify.
- 58:10Now, on occasion you will get something that I know is going
- 58:16to happen once this loads, you will get this option where
- 58:21there's nothing that shows here. That means that there are no or
- 58:26no available times for it to modify to with your single pass
- 58:31rights. It's also going to give you the
- 58:33option to modify to another single pass.
- 58:36So I can click down here and I can see O, I can modify to
- 58:41Guardians of the Galaxy at 2:45 for an extra $4.00 per guest.
- 58:45So you have a couple options when you see that.
- 58:48But if I go back to Magic Kingdom, I'm wanting to modify 7
- 58:52dwarves. There are no additional times,
- 58:54so I'm not able to modify it. There's also no times for Tron,
- 58:58so I'm not going to be able to modify it to that either.
- 59:00So I'm going to click back. Now, let's say the next day I'm
- 59:04looking at my Cosmic Rewind time.
- 59:06I'm going to do the same process again and then once it pulls up,
- 59:10it will look the exact same here.
- 59:13So it's telling me nothing else in this park is available
- 59:16because there's no other single pass.
- 59:18I have a ten O 5. I can click in here and I can
- 59:22see that these are the times that are available again.
- 59:27This does not, even if I click a time until I hit save and
- 59:34continue, it's not going to modify that for me.
- 59:38So I can always close back out and my time is still there.
- 59:42I haven't adjusted anything because I didn't like the times
- 59:45that they had. So that in a nutshell, is
- 59:48modifying your lightning lanes. So I know I had some questions
- 59:53here. How do the prices of lightning
- 59:57lanes correlate with crowds? It's so expensive the first week
- 59:59of June, basically any time that Disney sees an uptick in.
- 1:00:06Ticket sales or resort stays, your prices are likely going to
- 1:00:09be higher for your multi pass unfortunately.
- 1:00:12So that is just how they do things.
- 1:00:15They make it more expensive when they know more people are going
- 1:00:17to be in the park. They also do limit it, right?
- 1:00:21There have been days in the past where multi pass and has sold
- 1:00:26out. Single passes sell out very
- 1:00:28frequently. That is something very common.
- 1:00:30If I were to look on the app right now for tomorrow, I can
- 1:00:34almost guarantee you that all of the single pass, all five of
- 1:00:38those would be sold out for tomorrow.
- 1:00:40It does happen with multi pass as well because they do limit
- 1:00:43how many people can use it, but the prices fluctuate.
- 1:00:46They go up when there are more people in the parks,
- 1:00:49unfortunately. So that's kind of how that works
- 1:00:51together. If you have a DAS pass, how does
- 1:00:55it work on booking rides? So Kayla, the DAS is a
- 1:00:59completely separate system when it comes to booking rides.
- 1:01:03You can book one at a time on DAS and it will give you your
- 1:01:08return time in the app. You don't select it.
- 1:01:12So it's a completely separate system when it comes to booking
- 1:01:15rides through that disability access pass.
- 1:01:18And I did see the question earlier, someone was asking if I
- 1:01:21am a travel agent. I am not a travel agent.
- 1:01:23I just truly enjoy helping people make the most out of
- 1:01:26their Disney vacations. So I help people a lot with like
- 1:01:30itineraries and Lightning Lane plans and kind of the the course
- 1:01:36of action when it comes to what should I book and who should I
- 1:01:39book it for and things like that.
- 1:01:41So if you're someone that needs help with that, please reach out
- 1:01:44to us here at Mom Street. I am more than happy to help you
