- Lucas: Hey Luna, ready for another French lesson with Fexingo? Luna: Absolutely! I've been practicing my classroom commands from last episode. Écoutez! Répétez! They're so handy. Lucas: Nice job! Today we're going to learn some classroom objects. Things you'd see in a classroom. If Fexingo has been helping you make real progress with French, the way we keep this ad-free is listener support. You can head to buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo. That really helps us keep going. Luna: Yeah, totally. It's a small thing that makes a big difference for us. So, what's first? Lucas: First up: 'le bureau'. That means the desk. Say it with me: le bureau. Luna: Le bureau. That sounds like 'bureau' in English, right? Like a desk. Lucas: Exactly! Now, 'la chaise' — the chair. La chaise. Luna: La chaise. Le bureau, la chaise. I can already picture a desk and chair. Lucas: Perfect. Next: 'le tableau' — the board. Like a whiteboard or blackboard. Le tableau. Luna: Le tableau. That one's new. Tableau... sounds like 'table', but it's a board. Lucas: Right. Now, 'le livre' — the book. Le livre. Luna: Le livre. Like 'library'! Easy to remember. Lucas: Good connection! And 'le cahier' — the notebook. Le cahier. Luna: Le cahier. That's a notebook. I use a cahier all the time. Lucas: Last one: 'le stylo' — the pen. Le stylo. Luna: Le stylo. Like 'stylus', but a pen. Got it. Lucas: Let's do a quick review. Repeat after me: le bureau, la chaise, le tableau, le livre, le cahier, le stylo. Luna: Le bureau, la chaise, le tableau, le livre, le cahier, le stylo. Oof, that's a mouthful! Lucas: You're doing great! Let me tell you a tiny story. Imagine you're in a French classroom. There's a desk — le bureau — and a chair — la chaise. On the board — le tableau — the teacher writes a word. You open your book — le livre — and your notebook — le cahier — and grab your pen — le stylo. Luna: Oh, I love that! So it's like: le bureau, la chaise, le tableau, le livre, le cahier, le stylo. All in one scene. Lucas: Exactly. Let's practice again. Listen: 'Où est le livre?' — Where is the book? You can answer: 'Le livre est sur le bureau.' The book is on the desk. Lucas: Yeah! And 'le stylo est sur le cahier.' The pen is on the notebook. Luna: Le stylo est sur le cahier. That's so satisfying. Lucas: Let's do one more: 'La chaise est à côté du bureau.' The chair is next to the desk. Luna: La chaise est à côté du bureau. I can picture it. Lucas: Alright, let's do a quick quiz. I'll say the English, you say the French. Ready? Desk. Luna: Le bureau. Lucas: Chair. Luna: La chaise. Lucas: Board. Luna: Le tableau. Lucas: Book. Luna: Le livre. Lucas: Notebook. Luna: Le cahier. Lucas: Pen. Luna: Le stylo. Yes! I got them all. Lucas: Nice work! See you next time for more French with Fexingo. Practice these words around your house, and you'll remember them easily. Luna: Thanks Lucas! I'll keep practicing. À bientôt!
