- 0:20one that I've been wanting to do for a while.

- 0:40And today we got a story about the Roanoke Island mystery Maybe I'm saying it
- 0:46right, maybe I'm saying it wrong If you're listening to this podcast Which I'm
- 0:51pretty sure you're definitely going to be enjoying it That's why you got to hit that like, share,

- 1:04we are listening to the legendary deconstructing topic.
- 1:08And he's talking about Roanoke Island Mystery. And again, if you're listening,
- 1:14if I'm saying it wrong, hit me up.
- 1:16Roanoke. Roanoke is R-O-A-N-O-K-E, Island Mystery.
- 1:23And basically this mystery. And, you know, I'm just going to give you a little
- 1:27because, you know, I want to keep it simple for those people that are listening
- 1:30that have never heard about this story.
- 1:32It's definitely an interesting story where somewhere in 1580-something,
- 1:38I believe 86, 87, 88, somewhere in this part of the country,
- 1:42I can't say, I'm not going to say United States because United States did not
- 1:45exist back then. Come on.
- 1:46But I'm just saying in context, in this part of the world, There's a little
- 1:52island of What we call North Carolina Called Roanoke Island For those people
- 1:56who are living in this country.
- 1:59Oh, hey, listen, history might not be your expertise.
- 2:03You just happen to enjoy whatever it is this country offers today.
- 2:07But in order to get here, there's a lot of stuff that happened hundreds and hundreds of years ago.
- 2:14So Rona Gowland is one of those things. And keep in mind, we are in year 2025.
- 2:20So in 1587, if I'm not mistaken, I'm trying to recall here. I'm trying to pull
- 2:27out my notes here because I did a little bit of notes because,
- 2:30again, I want to keep it simple.
- 2:32In that year, in that little island, the understanding is that a group of English
- 2:39colonists, and when I say English colonists, it's people from England who took a boat, right?
- 2:45There was no place back then. Maybe there was. Who knows?
- 2:49We live in the Matrix, right? Who knows? Whatever. took
- 2:52a little boat or a big boat and decided
- 2:55a nice ship boom and land on
- 2:58this side of where we at now here in
- 3:01the United States where I'm doing this recording and wow
- 3:03we are talking about back then days just to
- 3:06get from England to North Carolina now
- 3:09my thing is this I don't know if these
- 3:13English settlers is what they call
- 3:15it so colonists not sure if their aim was to land there but they landed there
- 3:20and what happened was that in this little item we talked about like 115 16 17
- 3:26people in this little island whatever case might be trying to build a new world
- 3:30because keep in mind whatever was happening in england there were a lot of people that were not happy.
- 3:36But, you know, word in the street, word in the street is that,
- 3:40hey, there's a land, a piece of land, there's land that we could go,
- 3:44but it's somewhere in the Atlantic, across the Atlantic, and they decided, yo, we out.
- 3:50We out. We just grab our motetes, if you don't know Spanish,
- 3:54our stuff, and just be like, you know what?
- 3:57Let the ship guide us to wherever it needs, and then boom, here we go.
- 4:01And we got this little island, Roanoke, Roanoke Island off North Carolina.
- 4:07Now, North Carolina, I'm in New York City, so North Carolina is in the south.
- 4:10We're talking about, what, eight hours if you kind of take a car, road trip.
- 4:16You know what I mean? So you got this little island with 100 and something people
- 4:20chilling, drinking, eating, doing whatever they do.
- 4:24And the leader of that little group, that little clan or whatever it is,
- 4:29decided, hey, listen, I'll be back.
- 4:31Because something's going on.
- 4:33You know, we need more stuff. I'm going to go to England, go to another home because, hey.
- 4:38Now, keep in mind, when these individuals landed here, there was already natives that were living here.
- 4:45And when I say native, what we call native Indian, I call them,
- 4:50you know, native people living in this side of the world.
- 4:53Hey, listen, different tribe, different people.
- 4:56Hey, let's get it. Party time.
- 5:00So this individual decided, and I believe it's what they call John White, if I'm not mistaken.
- 5:08Now, North Carolina, you know, Rona, North Carolina, keep in mind that back
- 5:11then there was really no name, whatever it is that they call it,
- 5:15which is straight up bland.
- 5:16So they decided these colonists, these 100 plus people to say,
- 5:20now this is our territory.
- 5:22We're going to have a governor. He's going to run stuff up, whatever it is.
- 5:26So this individual, John White, decides, hey, I'll be back.
- 5:30We're talking about 1587. I'll be back.
- 5:35You know, these days when we said we'd be back, you know, a couple of minutes, a couple of hours.
- 5:40This individual came back a couple of years later, two or three or four years
- 5:44later, if I'm not mistaken, to the island. And guess what?
- 5:47I know you guys been anticipating like, okay, David, what's going on?
- 5:52What happened to these hundred plus people in this little island? Poof.
- 5:56The individual John White comes back and there was nobody home.
- 6:00And that's why it's called the Roanoke Island Mystery. So in this little island,
- 6:05off the coast of North Carolina,
- 6:08these hundreds of plus of people doing their thing like, hey,
- 6:12you know, like if it's 1999, let's party up. Hey, let's go. Woo.
- 6:17Trying to live a little new life that they couldn't have in England.
- 6:22But it was struggling. And sadly, my understanding is that there were little
- 6:28tension between the natives that were living in this land and the English side.
- 6:33Now, keep in mind, let's just be straight up here.
- 6:36The native, for the most part, are people brown. You know, they got color. You know what I mean?
- 6:44And to see this group here from England who are white, or what they call white.
- 6:51There was tension off the bat, just that you look different.
- 6:54There was tension between those natives.
- 6:56And we already know that the history of United States, especially early.
- 7:00And when I say United States, this part of the world, when it became the 13
- 7:03colonies, and then when it started to expand, there was always the natives.
- 7:11Indians, or the natives that were here, versus the, in the beginning,
- 7:16which what we call settlers, the people that was coming from Europe to this country.
- 7:20Then as time passed, then we became Americans.
- 7:23Whatever the case might be. There's some little beef already.
- 7:26Hey, you look a little bit different, my friend.
- 7:28So when this individual came back, he's like, what happened?
- 7:33What the hell happened to my people? They're not here in this little island.
- 7:38And one of the, how can I say, theories would have been, hey.
- 7:44Since there's some tensions between some of the Native, different i i believe
- 7:48one of one of them because i think there's another island called the crow,
- 7:52crow towing island am i saying that right
- 7:55cartoon that's c-r-o-a-t-o-a-n that
- 8:00there could have been some beef and you got to keep in mind you're talking
- 8:03about hundreds of people versus a little
- 8:07bit more of a hundreds of people this tribe
- 8:10that's called the quotes and so one of the theories would
- 8:14have been is that hey those people just got wiped out but
- 8:18my understanding is that i believe they might have found
- 8:21bones of one but if you
- 8:24look at the village hey it was abandoned i was like if nothing happened they
- 8:28disappeared in there you know some people might say hey listen they starved
- 8:33to death disease you already know they into a territory that they don't know
- 8:37and they just happened to like, poof, whatever.
- 8:42Went to the waters, swam away, something to that effect.
- 8:46There's always that theory that they might have said, hey, I'm out.
- 8:50You know, this island, it's a little bit too small, and what we're seeing across,
- 8:54it's a lot of territory with a lot of good stuff.
- 8:59A lot of good stuff, so let's just go. So imagine this.
- 9:02You're this individual by the name of John White and decide,
- 9:06wow, what the hell is going on? Where's my people?
- 9:12And then the thing is this, that because of this mystery, you know,
- 9:17you got the 10, 4, 1⁄2 people that say, hey, listen, something happened.
- 9:21Because the only thing that you could say that there's some type of evidence,
- 9:27excuse me, my understanding is that someone put the word Croatan,
- 9:31Croatan, yeah, I'm sorry.
- 9:33If you're a native and you're from that village and that area,
- 9:36and I'm saying it wrong, I get it.
- 9:37If I get an arrow somewhere like, I apologize, I'm just trying to say the word C-R-O-A-T-O-A-N.
- 9:50They carved that in this little tree or something to that effect So some people
- 9:55might say that they were, how can I say, moved against their will, right?
- 10:02And again, if you're a John White and you'd be like, oh man You're really speculating
- 10:06or assuming that something happened with it They had some little beef with the
- 10:11natives And that's when you take up arms and say, hey, what's going on?
- 10:16But just the fact that for hundreds of years, where the archae,
- 10:21sometimes I say certain things, but archaeologists, scientists,
- 10:28historians, all that above just never understood or never really can pinpoint what exactly happened.
- 10:36Because, again, you know, when John White came back, he came back with some
- 10:39peoples. He came back, hey, with some supplies. He was ready to go. West mile people.
- 10:44And they're drawing little maps and little things on going on and to look for these individuals.
- 10:50And I think the recent news, and once again, the Roanoke Island mystery.
- 10:54People disappear, a hundred and something. People don't know.
- 10:57Imagine going to an island or somewhere in a boat. There's the fog. There's the smoke.
- 11:05It's a fire. It's still lit. But there's no sign of life. Wow. What happened?
- 11:14So, recent news or recent theories have been, and again, it's been theories
- 11:20that perhaps, hey, they died. They got killed.
- 11:23They went up on themselves and say, okay, this dude, John White,
- 11:27is taking a little bit too long and I'm starving.
- 11:29And, you know, we just don't got the supplies to kind of get to the mainland
- 11:34Because this is an island that's not in the mainland of what we call United
- 11:38States So where are we going? Where are we at?
- 11:41And it looks like more and more the speculation or the theory would be that
- 11:47they assimilated With the Croatian tribe, basically,
- 11:52And the reason would be that even though in this part of the world in what we
- 11:57call United States or modern United States is that the fact that,
- 12:00you know, just like in any part of the world when there's different tribes,
- 12:04there's different beef, there's different problems, there's wars,
- 12:06there's battles, whatever it is.
- 12:08My understanding has been is that there have been natives in this country who
- 12:15seem more friendlier and welcome to these sellers because keep in mind.
- 12:21Even though these tribes in this part of the country, they look a little bit different.
- 12:25They still are a little kind of brownish.
- 12:29To see somebody in a lighter color, you'd be like, what the hell happened to you?
- 12:35Was you not in the sun? Is there a sun in your country? I don't know. You need a tan.
- 12:40But the fact is that they are natives in this part.
- 12:44They had that little beef with other tribes and natives that were others.
- 12:48So basically, it looks like these colonists decided, hey, let me go here with
- 12:54these people. They're cool. They can protect us.
- 12:56And it seems that the first or the most clear, or at least the theory that it
- 13:03looks like is making more sense as more and more and more information comes up.
- 13:08Because even though this happened like hundreds of years ago,
- 13:11we're talking about 400, 500 years, whatever it is, 1580s.
- 13:16It seems that more information comes up every often And it's shedding light
- 13:24Because you got to keep in mind That there's a lot of tribes, right?
- 13:29Where they basically Their history is based on oral history Just word of mouth There's some that Hey,
- 13:36listen, there's 10 people that just oral history They pass it down But then
- 13:39there's those who document it in paper And for certain documents to come up.
- 13:45That are verified that, hey, listen, these people simulated these hundreds of
- 13:50colonists, they were chilling with us.
- 13:52Hey, they became us. They were welcome to the cookout. You know what I mean?
- 13:56And that's how that became. And perhaps this is the story where I guess people
- 14:02leave it open because, again, some people might say that, hey,
- 14:05listen, some aliens from out of the world just came and just took them.
- 14:09People are always going to speculate and throw some theories or whatever the case might be.
- 14:14I like to believe that they assimilated.
- 14:17And once they assimilate, basically, they just say, you know what?
- 14:22We ain't doing this English thing no more, man. These people over here,
- 14:25these Clawtown people, they mad cool, man.
- 14:30And just go back to England, whatever, or just bring more. I could understand that.
- 14:37Especially if you feel protective from these tribes versus the other tribes
- 14:42that might feel a little bit different otherwise.
- 14:46So we make it happen. Hope you enjoy this little mysterious thing of the Roanoke Island mystery.
- 14:54Again, some might say that it's one of the oldest cold case in this side of
- 15:00the world and what we call modern United States because there's no definite
- 15:04answer. Something happened.
- 15:05We just don't know the definite answer. But, hey, listen, by all means, feel free to share.
- 15:12Feel free to go online. And, you know, there's a lot of documentaries,
- 15:15podcasts, and I'm bringing it on light to my audience, my people,
- 15:20my family, because it's a little interesting story,
- 15:24which is hundreds of years old. Let's make it happen.
