- 0:27Hey everybody, good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:30So today we're talking about letting things go and deciding
- 0:34what you're going to hang on to in the moment.
- 0:37And I'll tell you, one of the most fascinating things that I
- 0:41have ever approached with myself is letting things go because
- 0:45it's not in my nature to let things go until I feel like
- 0:49they're done. I want to dive in.
- 0:52I want to be able to solve the problem, complete the project,
- 0:56doesn't matter what it is. I don't just let things go
- 1:00easily. And one of the hardest lessons
- 1:02that I've ever had to teach myself is some things I can't
- 1:06control, some things I have absolutely.
- 1:09And my certainty girl, you've heard me talk about her,
- 1:12especially this week quite a bit with Storm and everything else.
- 1:16I've had a lot of experience dealing with my need to control
- 1:21things over the years, and admittedly, I've gotten much
- 1:24better with it. I've had to acquiesce on a lot
- 1:28of things. I've had to reassess what my
- 1:31intentions and attention goes to.
- 1:34And in deciding to let things go, it doesn't mean that you
- 1:38failed. It just means that you've
- 1:39decided this is not important enough for my intention anymore.
- 1:43And for me, that little phrase is so powerful because I'm able
- 1:48to say to myself, well, this is not important enough for my
- 1:50attention anymore. And if I'm giving something my
- 1:54attention, don't I want it to be important?
- 1:55Don't I want it to be part of my law of attraction?
- 1:58Because if I'm giving it attention, that means I'm giving
- 2:00it fuel for it to come to me. And if it's fueled, then that
- 2:04means it's it's being fueled by my emotions.
- 2:07So I definitely don't want to give fuel to something that I
- 2:11don't want. I have to just decide to let it
- 2:13go. What's so challenging though,
- 2:16for all of us is, does that mean failure?
- 2:19Does it mean that you've given up?
- 2:22Does it mean that you have decided that you're happy about
- 2:27it? I don't know.
- 2:28Everybody has a different reaction to it.
- 2:30And hence the reason we're talking about it, because there
- 2:32are times when I'll say to clients, well, let's talk about
- 2:36letting this go, letting this project go or letting this idea
- 2:39go. And sometimes people will be
- 2:41like, that's such a relief. And other times people will be
- 2:43like, well, then I failed again. It is all about our own
- 2:48perspective. And if you are not familiar with
- 2:51how you process these things and how you go through perspective,
- 2:55it is well worth your time to make a decision and look at that
- 2:59and say, OK, I really want to know.
- 3:02And how, how am I processing that?
- 3:04What is that all about? Because it it brings everything
- 3:09to you because if you are not letting it go, it's back there
- 3:13in the back of the bus and it's got mind chatter with it.
- 3:15And mind chatter is energy. And then that means you're
- 3:18attracting it. So you have to make sure you're
- 3:23clear on that part. Now I'm going to explain this a
- 3:26little bit from my perspective if coming from letting a project
- 3:30go. So I had something that I was
- 3:33working on and I just decided that it no longer excited me.
- 3:37This just it no longer excited me what I was doing.
- 3:41And I, I made a decision that I was going to let this project
- 3:45go. I was just not going to hold on
- 3:47to it the way that I, I had initially thought I was going to
- 3:51and I was just going to let it go.
- 3:53And that is very rare for me because I like to see things all
- 3:57the way to the end. And since this was a product I
- 4:01was thinking of putting together, I was like, you know
- 4:03what? This thing just does not give me
- 4:06any excitement beyond not failing.
- 4:10And when I had that distinction in my head and I went, wow.
- 4:13So I actually have put it under the category, if you don't
- 4:16complete it, you've failed. And that was not what the
- 4:20polling was supposed to be about.
- 4:22So I had to pull myself into that reality and say, hmm,
- 4:27interesting, OK, what if I didn't make it mean that?
- 4:30What if I had? It means something else.
- 4:32What if there was something else that I could do and just say,
- 4:34this is not right for the person I am right now.
- 4:37That was a very powerful switch in my head for the person I am
- 4:41right now. This project is not right
- 4:44because I have put myself on a different trajectory and now I'm
- 4:47working on different things. And that was a project that had
- 4:51been around for a while. And now I'm just like, it's not
- 4:54as important. So I'm sharing this because in
- 4:58my recognition of that for myself, it was so freeing to be
- 5:02able to say, I can free myself. I can let this go.
- 5:06I don't have to mean it means something bad because I'm
- 5:09associating it to something different.
- 5:12It is no longer aligned with the person I am right now.
- 5:15And boom, it was effortless. So try that figure out is you're
- 5:20letting something go aligned with the person you are right
- 5:23now. And if it is, oh, that's a great
- 5:26way to do it. All right, my friends, I hope
- 5:28you have a blessed day and I will see you all tomorrow.
- 5:31Bye.
