- 0:00The spiritual aspirant practicing the integral Yoga
- 0:03devotes his efforts to coming into contact with the divine
- 0:06Force, being receptive to its influence and action, and
- 0:11bringing it down to transform the action of the mind, life and
- 0:15body. Once this force is completely
- 0:18assimilated into the physical cells of the body, it can do
- 0:22away with the vibratory response we know as illness, according to
- 0:27the intensive work done by the Mother of the Sri Ro Bindu
- 0:31Ashram, who spent years working on opening the physical
- 0:34substance to the higher force. For those who have not fully
- 0:39accomplished this task, however, there remains the existing
- 0:43habitual patterns of response and expression in the mind, the
- 0:47vital and in the body, each level being successively more
- 0:52dense and therefore less pliable.
- 0:55Long established habits in physical nature tend to control
- 1:00the physical substance. The process of transformation at
- 1:04the cellular level is long and often not easily identifiable.
- 1:11Individuals sometimes get glimpses of the power of the
- 1:14divine force directly acting on the physical body and curing an
- 1:18illness without medicines. Srioro Bindo related an incident
- 1:23involving his brother who was very ill and not recovering.
- 1:28A wandering Yogi came by, saw what the situation was and
- 1:32requested a glass of water. He cut through the water while
- 1:36chanting certain mantras and had the patient drink the water.
- 1:41Healing soon followed. Paraman's Yogananda related a
- 1:46story from his own experience as a youth where he was deathly
- 1:50ill. His mother prayed with ardent
- 1:53faith to the Guru, and the healing power entered him and
- 1:57healed him. As long as the complete openness
- 2:01and transformation of the nature is not accomplished, the seeker
- 2:05may resort to the use of physical medicines.
- 2:08For the seeker, this is adjunctive support, not primary
- 2:12action, and he continues to focus on the Divine force as the
- 2:17curative power and the medicine as the representative medium to
- 2:22deliver the support to the body that it happens to require at
- 2:26that moment. The spiritual path is long and
- 2:30arduous. A healthy mind, a strong vital
- 2:34force and a strong and healthy body are extraordinarily
- 2:38helpful. The seeker should not waste this
- 2:41opportunity by refusing to care for the body in a time of need,
- 2:48Srioro Bindo observes. Quote medicines are a peace
- 2:53allay editor note last resort that have to be used when
- 2:59something in the consciousness does not respond or respond
- 3:03superficially to the force. Very often it is some part of
- 3:08the material consciousness that is unreceptive.
- 3:12At other times it is the subcontinent which stands in the
- 3:15way even when the whole waking mind life physical consent to
- 3:21the liberating influence. If the subconscious also
- 3:25answers, then even a slight touch of the force can not only
- 3:32cure the particular illness but make that form or kind of
- 3:36illness practically impossible hereafter.
