- 2:23Speaker 1: get into this interview though, Paul Wall Terminology Man, the
- 2:25Speaker 1: butleg Cat Podcast. All right, Man Boulet Cad Show special
- 2:29Speaker 1: guests in here, my guys, Paul Wall Terminology, Man, you
- 2:34Speaker 1: guys have come together for a project. What is the
- 2:37Speaker 1: name of the album? Start to finish? Oh, by the way,
- 2:40Speaker 1: it's right here. Yeah, yeah, by the way, I love
- 2:42Speaker 1: the artwork. Start to finish now, Paul, you've obviously you're
- 2:46Speaker 1: no stranger. Neither of you are strangers to collapse projects, right,
- 2:49Speaker 1: nineteen eighty two is a brand. It's crazy you've done
- 2:52Speaker 1: joint albums. It kind of came into the game with
- 2:54Speaker 1: Acha Millionaire doing color color change and click. What made
- 2:58Speaker 1: this just such an easy thing to happen? Man? Static, Yeah, static, static, Yeah,
- 3:03Speaker 1: for sure. Do both of us with just you know,
- 3:07Speaker 1: dope mcs of course. You know. So it's something that
- 3:09Speaker 1: maybe might be abstract us coming together in some people's
- 3:12Speaker 1: minds because our styles are so different, right, but the
- 3:15Speaker 1: core elements of our styles are similar with Dope. We
- 3:19Speaker 1: care about the craft, We care about the art of it.
- 3:21Speaker 1: You know, we care about how it sounds. Not We're
- 3:24Speaker 1: not trying to do nothing gimmicky or nothing like that.
- 3:26Speaker 1: We're trying to be true to who we are, true
- 3:28Speaker 1: to hip hop, true to whatever we represent. And that's
- 3:32Speaker 1: the same thing with both of us. So it was
- 3:34Speaker 1: an easy natural fit me and Static. You know, we
- 3:37Speaker 1: kind of kicked it off when we did a project
- 3:39Speaker 1: together called Gift Thanks Yep, and we did a song
- 3:41Speaker 1: on there, and after that song, you know, we we
- 3:44Speaker 1: really just messed good. We vibe real good. We got
- 3:46Speaker 1: to be great friends, you know what I'm saying. And
- 3:48Speaker 1: the next thing, you know, we did a song with
- 3:50Speaker 1: Pete Rock and then from there it's like, you know what,
- 3:52Speaker 1: maybe project together and it's done. It's crazy part because
- 3:58Speaker 1: like I feel like people who might be just like
- 4:01Speaker 1: surface level fans of what you do and haven't really
- 4:04Speaker 1: been paying attention to what you've been up to the
- 4:05Speaker 1: last like ten years, will be like yo, Paul Wall
- 4:07Speaker 1: or Pete Rock, Static selector like man. I talked to
- 4:10Speaker 1: him about that all the time, and I thank him
- 4:12Speaker 1: and Static for that opportunity because normally if like you said,
- 4:16Speaker 1: just the casual Paul Wall fans, there's a box that
- 4:20Speaker 1: I'm in, and if I do anything outside of that box,
- 4:22Speaker 1: it's like what is he doing? They don't you know,
- 4:24Speaker 1: you don't even get a chance to do it. But
- 4:26Speaker 1: to be able to spin on static selector beats or
- 4:29Speaker 1: Pete Rock beats or Terminology beat, man, it was you know,
- 4:33Speaker 1: definitely it brought someth out of me that I fell
- 4:36Speaker 1: in love with, you know, like I said, with the
- 4:37Speaker 1: gift Thanks, it was like, man, this is the greatest
- 4:41Speaker 1: thing I ever did in terms of hip hop in
- 4:43Speaker 1: my mind, and then a lot of people in mind,
- 4:44Speaker 1: people who hear it. Because a lot of people haven't
- 4:46Speaker 1: heard it. It's kind of under the radar. But uh,
- 4:48Speaker 1: you know the people who have heard it, they like, man,
- 4:51Speaker 1: where is this? Man? We need some more of this.
- 4:53Speaker 1: So of course, you know, doing the the it won't
- 4:56Speaker 1: start to finish. This is like a part two for
- 4:58Speaker 1: me to get thinks, yeah, to be able to to
- 5:02Speaker 1: express myself on these type of beats in a different
- 5:05Speaker 1: way because it brings something out of you different than
- 5:07Speaker 1: if I'm rapping on you know, one of my Texas
- 5:09Speaker 1: slab type of beats. So it just brings something out
- 5:11Speaker 1: of me and I think them all the time. Man,
- 5:13Speaker 1: thank you for this opportunity to showcase this type of
- 5:15Speaker 1: talent to an audience that will be open to it.
- 5:18Speaker 1: You know, some people they might not want to hear.
- 5:21Speaker 1: They might want to only meet talking about grills of
- 5:23Speaker 1: me right right right right, you know, doing like I said,
- 5:24Speaker 1: some slab music or something. Do you get the free
- 5:27Speaker 1: grill off the rip? Because you got the album? We
- 5:30Speaker 1: go get we go get my grill fitted last time
- 5:32Speaker 1: I went to Uston to shoot the videos and we
- 5:34Speaker 1: were just running and gunning, like we did three videos,
- 5:37Speaker 1: four videos in like forty eight hours. So you know,
- 5:40Speaker 1: I can get to and get my ship yet, but
- 5:41Speaker 1: I'm definitely gonna get them. How is the real business?
- 5:43Speaker 1: Because I feel like it's made I feel like there
- 5:47Speaker 1: was like a small little timer trying to died out.
- 5:49Speaker 1: But it's back man. This is a you know, it's
- 5:52Speaker 1: as a businessman in any type of business, there's always
- 5:55Speaker 1: gonna be cycles. Of course, things are gonna come and go,
- 5:58Speaker 1: and you gotta adjust to the cycle. You gotta just
- 6:00Speaker 1: to the consumer. You got to try to find a
- 6:01Speaker 1: way to you know, reconnected with the consumers, and you know,
- 6:06Speaker 1: the cultures would dictate the grills, you know, so we
- 6:08Speaker 1: can sit there and sell them all day, we can
- 6:10Speaker 1: do whatever we will come up. We come up with
- 6:11Speaker 1: all the new styles all day. But if the culture
- 6:13Speaker 1: don't want it, then it's dead. So it was a
- 6:16Speaker 1: time when you know, it's like grills came from being
- 6:19Speaker 1: an underground thing to being mainstream to being everybody's got grills,
- 6:23Speaker 1: and it's no longer something cultural is now everyday mainstream
- 6:28Speaker 1: fad or trend. With all fads and trends, they come
- 6:30Speaker 1: and go. So when it became the national trend, you know,
- 6:34Speaker 1: it's like the underground and the culture of the streets
- 6:36Speaker 1: was like, man, fuck we wear Once Nelly dropped grills,
- 6:38Speaker 1: did it was like, well, it's kind of like that.
- 6:41Speaker 1: That brought the peak and then it took it to
- 6:43Speaker 1: the next level. And then it was like, oh my god,
- 6:45Speaker 1: where do we go and grills? But then they came
- 6:47Speaker 1: back when the youth came with them. The new generation
- 6:50Speaker 1: was like, man, I want some grills, and they coming
- 6:52Speaker 1: to get grills. They brought it back to where now
- 6:54Speaker 1: I feel like it's a mainstay of jewelry. Where change
- 7:00Speaker 1: real earing grill help me eat with the hygiene perspective
- 7:04Speaker 1: of grills, because a lot of grown ass men I
- 7:06Speaker 1: know have metal in their mouth have the worst fucking
- 7:09Speaker 1: breath on the planet. This is this is a known thing.
- 7:12Speaker 1: I'm like, bro, get the fuck out of here with
- 7:14Speaker 1: that fucking backward grill breath. Brouh. Yeah, man, how do
- 7:18Speaker 1: you prevent the breath from smelling like shit? If you
- 7:20Speaker 1: have a grill, proper hygiene whatever. Normal hygiene is recommended,
- 7:25Speaker 1: which is brushing your teeth two times a day, two
- 7:27Speaker 1: to three times a day. But who brush their teeth
- 7:29Speaker 1: three times a day two times a day and clean
- 7:31Speaker 1: your grills out? You know some people eat with them,
- 7:33Speaker 1: or they smoke with them, or they drink coffee or
- 7:35Speaker 1: whatever with them. Well, think about it. You're doing that
- 7:38Speaker 1: and you're not cleaning them and stuff staying in there.
- 7:40Speaker 1: It's creating bacteria. It's going to stink, and your breath
- 7:43Speaker 1: is gonna stink. And a lot of people they'll put
- 7:45Speaker 1: on the grills and to them it's a or I
- 7:47Speaker 1: don't need to burst my teeth because I got grills.
- 7:49Speaker 1: It's a mental thing. It's a mental thing where you
- 7:51Speaker 1: feel like you don't have to. But it's also to me,
- 7:54Speaker 1: you just got to get on the schedule. No matter
- 7:56Speaker 1: what I brust my teeth in the morning when I
- 7:58Speaker 1: wake up, whether I feel like it's well well, whether
- 8:01Speaker 1: I ate something that morning or ate something the night before,
- 8:03Speaker 1: anything right, Always brush your teeth in the morning, Always
- 8:06Speaker 1: brush your teeth at night. But them thing grills, Man,
- 8:09Speaker 1: there's something sire. But let me tell you, man, let
- 8:10Speaker 1: me tell you this, Corey Blunt shout out to Corey
- 8:13Speaker 1: Blunt OG's triple O g slab originator. Man. Okay, he
- 8:18Speaker 1: had permanent gold teeth. He went to the fest for
- 8:21Speaker 1: thirty years, came out, got new gold teeth, so he
- 8:25Speaker 1: got the old ones, removed his teeth underneath parently white.
- 8:29Speaker 1: Nothing wrong with them. So you can have permanent grills
- 8:33Speaker 1: for thirty plus years and nothing go wrong with your teeth. Now,
- 8:38Speaker 1: most people will get permanent grills. They not flossing or
- 8:41Speaker 1: brushing the teeth every day. So of course, if you
- 8:44Speaker 1: don't floss, you don't brush your teeth, you don't take
- 8:46Speaker 1: care of yourself, it's gonna get rotten. And you can
- 8:48Speaker 1: see them horror stories and people with permanent gold teeth
- 8:51Speaker 1: they take them out. Man, it ain't it's not good.
- 8:54Speaker 1: And this is just normal grown up shit. That's regular shit. Though.
- 8:56Speaker 1: He's supposed to brush your teeth right right, That's why
- 8:59Speaker 1: he tries see a lot of kids before we bring
- 9:02Speaker 1: it to school. You bunch your teeth, Like, come on,
- 9:04Speaker 1: that's the first show you love. Have you ever had
- 9:06Speaker 1: someone like? You know, we hear about people who get
- 9:10Speaker 1: like they'll go to like rent attire and rent their wheels.
- 9:12Speaker 1: Is there is there a grill bill a rental grill? Yeah?
- 9:16Speaker 1: Can someone? Can someone get a note on a grill
- 9:18Speaker 1: from you? We definitely do payment plans and things like that,
- 9:22Speaker 1: but in terms of renting the grills, you know, they're
- 9:24Speaker 1: all custom made. No, not running. I just mean in
- 9:27Speaker 1: terms of like if I want to come in and
- 9:28Speaker 1: like I got I only got ten percent? Can I
- 9:30Speaker 1: get oh yeah, like buy it on lay away kind
- 9:32Speaker 1: of yeah, for sure. Now we don't make payments, like
- 9:35Speaker 1: we'll take it in and you can pay us later,
- 9:36Speaker 1: but we'll take it like a lay away plan. And
- 9:38Speaker 1: then when you get to a certain point, okay, but
- 9:40Speaker 1: now you can take the you pull them off to
- 9:42Speaker 1: the side and say, hey, buddy, U priorities. Just tell
- 9:47Speaker 1: Sometimes when you see people who they hit their first liquor,
- 9:50Speaker 1: they're just coming up, they just made some money, and
- 9:52Speaker 1: now they want to blow it all on some jury.
- 9:54Speaker 1: I definitely have just been some times. But I'm like, look, listen,
- 9:57Speaker 1: your businessman, different jewelry. Yeah. Yeah, But but just the
- 10:01Speaker 1: human in me is like, man, I'm gonna see this
- 10:05Speaker 1: person in a couple of years, and they're gonna, you know,
- 10:08Speaker 1: I'm in my mind, they're gonna feel a certain way.
- 10:09Speaker 1: Or they blew all their money on Drew and they
- 10:11Speaker 1: lost it all and have noneing and so forth. But
- 10:13Speaker 1: the fact is a lot of those people don't care
- 10:15Speaker 1: when they blow it all on Drewry and I see
- 10:17Speaker 1: him five years later and they're they're like proud, Yeah, man,
- 10:21Speaker 1: remember when I came in here and blue fifty grand
- 10:24Speaker 1: mentality thing. You're proud of that? Like they ain't, Man,
- 10:26Speaker 1: where the jeury at? I don't know where it's at.
- 10:28Speaker 1: I lost it. Anyway, I'm gonna go put some gas
- 10:30Speaker 1: in my ultimate. Yeah, I pun it crazy. Did you
- 10:34Speaker 1: I saw that bun put together the Houston rodeo thing?
- 10:38Speaker 1: Were you part of that? Yeah? Man? Thank they thank
- 10:40Speaker 1: you bum beef for putting that man. It was some sirre. Now,
- 10:43Speaker 1: the Houston Rodeo for me just came on. I know
- 10:45Speaker 1: it's the biggest rodeo, right, but me and my wife
- 10:48Speaker 1: been watching Yellowstone If y'all seen that shit, Yeah that man. Yeah,
- 10:53Speaker 1: Kevin Costa bron dudn't dunn't wrench man put me up
- 10:58Speaker 1: in that bunk house anyway. So I was like, my
- 11:00Speaker 1: wife says, you want me to dress like rip, You
- 11:02Speaker 1: need to dress like rib that's funny. But I was
- 11:06Speaker 1: like be and my wife friend like, I was like, yeah,
- 11:08Speaker 1: we should go to the rodeo. I want to go.
- 11:09Speaker 1: You know, let's just go. Yeah, let's just go. Fucking
- 11:12Speaker 1: it's a crazy atmosphere. And it's explaining it to somebody
- 11:16Speaker 1: who's not like from Texas or from Houston or who's
- 11:19Speaker 1: a part of that. Then it's like it's trying to
- 11:21Speaker 1: you know, it's like foreign. But okay, it's a rodeo,
- 11:24Speaker 1: livestock shong rodeo in Houston where they actually do livestock contest.
- 11:29Speaker 1: You know this cow won this prize, this whatever one.
- 11:32Speaker 1: Then there's actual rodeo where there's cowboys out there, you know.
- 11:36Speaker 1: Last on some you know, bulls or whatever. They got
- 11:39Speaker 1: the whatever rodeo stuff they got with you on the horse,
- 11:41Speaker 1: so yeah, they bucking you off all of that type.
- 11:43Speaker 1: They got a little kid one where they got kids
- 11:46Speaker 1: riding on sheep trying to hang on. There's some Texas
- 11:48Speaker 1: ship for real. It definitely, it definitely is. Then there's
- 11:50Speaker 1: the fair part of it with all the food, you know,
- 11:53Speaker 1: the because it's it's not like the stadium, right, yeah,
- 11:56Speaker 1: it's where where the Texans play. Yes, oh yes, people,
- 12:00Speaker 1: it's huge. The parking lot is huge. So it's definitely.
- 12:03Speaker 1: It's like a couple of weeks long. And they you know,
- 12:05Speaker 1: usually it is mostly country artists, but there will have
- 12:08Speaker 1: some Tehano artists. Uh. You know Selena was when she
- 12:12Speaker 1: did the Rodeo, that's like one of the most historic
- 12:14Speaker 1: concerts ever, like just it's like when she did the Rodeo,
- 12:17Speaker 1: that's like the original Woodstock concert, like the type of
- 12:21Speaker 1: history that goes with it. And then you know Cardi
- 12:23Speaker 1: B did They traditionally don't have hip hop. Cardi B
- 12:26Speaker 1: do it. Cardi B did it, and I think Chance
- 12:27Speaker 1: the Rapper did it, and I think those are the
- 12:30Speaker 1: only rappers. Bum Bee came out as a special guest
- 12:32Speaker 1: for Leon Bridges, and I think maybe for Beyonce when
- 12:36Speaker 1: Beyonce was there. But in terms of the rappers headline
- 12:38Speaker 1: and it was only Cardi B and Chance the rappers.
- 12:40Speaker 1: So for Houston hip hop, it was who all didn
- 12:44Speaker 1: have a part of the show. He had a it
- 12:47Speaker 1: was like a medley of artists, you know. He had
- 12:49Speaker 1: Lele shout out to Leile, she's on I think Disney Nickelodeon.
- 12:53Speaker 1: She's also a rapper from Houston. Uh uh. Then he
- 12:57Speaker 1: had h Town, somebody rocking Boots, Yeah, LaToya Luckett, myself,
- 13:03Speaker 1: Slim Thug Zero, Devin the Dude, Ronnie Spencer, Willie d
- 13:10Speaker 1: came out, esg Little Kiky Communionaire came out. Toby in
- 13:15Speaker 1: the big way, Toby so Fire. Yeah. Yeah, Well I
- 13:19Speaker 1: watched it on YouTube because I was there like a
- 13:22Speaker 1: couple of weeks before in Houston with Paul and and
- 13:25Speaker 1: Bud and Bo was telling me, like, yo, to him,
- 13:27Speaker 1: this is the biggest shit I've ever done in my life. Man.
- 13:30Speaker 1: He's like, you don't understand like ninety thousand people and
- 13:33Speaker 1: this is our hood. So he's explained, you know, I
- 13:35Speaker 1: had never even heard of that shit. So he's explaining
- 13:37Speaker 1: it to me. So after they did it, I'm like, yo,
- 13:39Speaker 1: let me go on YouTube and watch it. It's like
- 13:41Speaker 1: an hour long to Medley. So I watched it, and
- 13:43Speaker 1: one of my favorite things was not only did he
- 13:45Speaker 1: put on every single artist from his hood, like every
- 13:48Speaker 1: artist ever, He didn't miss nobody he brought out like
- 13:50Speaker 1: everybody that he kept changing his fits. The fits was
- 13:53Speaker 1: so fly. He got the Cowboys shit, then like j
- 13:56Speaker 1: Prince come out with the with the Cowboys shit. It
- 13:59Speaker 1: was just so like ill, like he kept going in
- 14:02Speaker 1: the back, come out with a different fur coat, like
- 14:04Speaker 1: all this different fla ship that was That's what I
- 14:06Speaker 1: thought was fly, like put on your people's And so
- 14:09Speaker 1: the only person who could really probably pull that off
- 14:11Speaker 1: was Bun Yeah, man for sure. Man. And like I
- 14:14Speaker 1: was saying about the Selena thing, when she performed, she
- 14:17Speaker 1: had this iconic dress that she wore. It was like
- 14:20Speaker 1: a purple dress, you know. You know when j Lo
- 14:22Speaker 1: wore that green dress to the Grammars. Everybody the same way.
- 14:27Speaker 1: So that's how you know some of the people that
- 14:29Speaker 1: you know came to perform, it was just you know,
- 14:31Speaker 1: they they I don't think they grasped the magnitude until
- 14:33Speaker 1: they were there, kind of because but definitely the people
- 14:37Speaker 1: who were into it were like, man, we should one
- 14:40Speaker 1: for so man, J Prince, you know you want to
- 14:42Speaker 1: wear something that's gonna be iconic, that people gonna remember
- 14:44Speaker 1: for years. Man, that's you know he such war that
- 14:47Speaker 1: at the rodeo. You know what the record did you do?
- 14:50Speaker 1: I did Still Tipping with Slim Thug, and then I
- 14:53Speaker 1: did Sitting Sideways with Big Poky. Big Poky was there
- 14:56Speaker 1: also a little I'm remembering all the people that little
- 14:58Speaker 1: flip was there? No flip was there? Shots and flip
- 15:02Speaker 1: a couple of records, think it. But you know once
- 15:05Speaker 1: again with the closed I think buns changes about four times.
- 15:08Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, but watch that on YouTube when you get
- 15:11Speaker 1: a minute. Like the fits he had was crazy. He

- 16:22Speaker 1: code bootleg, and they will match your deposit free money,
- 16:25Speaker 1: free money up to one thousand dollars. Let's get back
- 16:27Speaker 1: to the interview. You know, it's crazy because like and
- 16:31Speaker 1: when I was in high school and you guys have
- 16:33Speaker 1: kind of had that. The first Houston run I want
- 16:36Speaker 1: to say that was like four h five oh three. Yeah,
- 16:42Speaker 1: and uh it felt very I remember there was like
- 16:46Speaker 1: the Double XL cover or the Source cover with Don't
- 16:49Speaker 1: Mess with Texas. Everybody was on the cover. Slim Thug
- 16:52Speaker 1: signed the Star Trek like you you were doing your thing.
- 16:54Speaker 1: I mean, Switched House was a movement. There are so
- 16:59Speaker 1: many artists now from Houston. Like when we think of
- 17:01Speaker 1: Travis Scott, like Travis Scott's one of the biggest arists
- 17:03Speaker 1: in the world, right and he obviously bangs Houston heavy,
- 17:06Speaker 1: astra world all that. But like, I feel like, I
- 17:10Speaker 1: don't know if it feels like there's like a unison
- 17:12Speaker 1: movement out of the city with the newer artists. Do
- 17:14Speaker 1: you feel because back then it felt like there was
- 17:16Speaker 1: a real movement cohesive mo. Yeah, well yeah, I don't
- 17:21Speaker 1: think it's necessarily is now. When we came out, the
- 17:25Speaker 1: movement was a little different because there was a Screwed
- 17:27Speaker 1: Up Click artist and the Switch House artist, and it
- 17:30Speaker 1: was a similar style of rap where you know, we
- 17:34Speaker 1: had similar subject matter, similar type of slow down type
- 17:37Speaker 1: of beats. Of course, you know, we switch House. We
- 17:40Speaker 1: got the style from Screw But being that there was
- 17:43Speaker 1: the Screw all the artists that were around at the time,
- 17:45Speaker 1: at our time, you know, the switch House and Screw
- 17:48Speaker 1: Up Click artists, we had a you know, the movement
- 17:50Speaker 1: was there because we had a similar style, we had
- 17:52Speaker 1: a similar fan base all of that. Whereas now you
- 17:55Speaker 1: got Lizzo, uh, Normani making the style and Maxo Cream,
- 18:01Speaker 1: Toby newig Way, Sauce Walker, Travis Scott, Don Tolliver, where
- 18:07Speaker 1: everyone's got their own vibe, Don Tolliver, Travis Yeah, Don Toliver,
- 18:12Speaker 1: Travis Scott got similar style, but it's way different than Toby,
- 18:16Speaker 1: and that's completely different than Saucewalker. And that's so different
- 18:19Speaker 1: than Normani or Izzo, you know. So it's you know,
- 18:22Speaker 1: it's it's and there's not to mention all of the
- 18:25Speaker 1: other Houston artists that are like blowing up right now
- 18:28Speaker 1: on TikTok or the non traditional methods that we came
- 18:32Speaker 1: up that I don't even know about yet, but they
- 18:34Speaker 1: popping and you know, getting fifty thousand the show and
- 18:36Speaker 1: I don't even know them. You know, that those artists
- 18:38Speaker 1: out there too, where they building their fan bases up,
- 18:41Speaker 1: you know, outside of the Houston, you know market. And
- 18:45Speaker 1: I think that's a little bit why too where you know,
- 18:48Speaker 1: when we came, we repped Texas to the full of
- 18:51Speaker 1: well they also do. But when people played our music,
- 18:55Speaker 1: they played it as a pride thing too. They're repping
- 18:57Speaker 1: Texas by playing on music where and you guys had
- 19:00Speaker 1: a very unison like sonic movement. I feel like where
- 19:04Speaker 1: it'd be like even if you listen to like already
- 19:06Speaker 1: Platinum from Slim Thug, even with for real production, you'd
- 19:09Speaker 1: be like, nah, this is some texts shit exactly exactly.
- 19:13Speaker 1: But all the artists there, they still rep Htown, Like
- 19:15Speaker 1: you said, sure, they're not kind of known as being htown. Well,
- 19:19Speaker 1: when you think of us, he's like, oh htown Texas.
- 19:21Speaker 1: You know, what, is there any plan to get you
- 19:25Speaker 1: in a chamillionaire ship up on the DSPs anywhere. I'll
- 19:27Speaker 1: be trying to talk, man, he making too much money.
- 19:30Speaker 1: He gotta go broke before we do something. I'm like,
- 19:32Speaker 1: bro I kind of getting too much. Keep pulling up
- 19:34Speaker 1: all these shitty quality links on YouTube, and that PIF
- 19:37Speaker 1: when I seen him on at the rodeo, and that's
- 19:39Speaker 1: the first thing I said, All right, well we were
- 19:41Speaker 1: gonna get get you my correct part too. I told him, Man,
- 19:44Speaker 1: we need to drop them as an nf T. Man,
- 19:46Speaker 1: we can drop it as a pre sale. Well we
- 19:48Speaker 1: ain't dropping until we pre sale one hundred thousand, bro,
- 19:50Speaker 1: I'm telling you got too much money. Man. Your guys
- 19:53Speaker 1: ship was like to me, like I used to sell
- 19:57Speaker 1: a lot of mixtapes to swap me during that era,
- 20:00Speaker 1: and that was kind of to me, like the very underrated,
- 20:05Speaker 1: Like when I that's my favorite shit from y'all to
- 20:07Speaker 1: go back and listen to. I've been trying though. I've
- 20:10Speaker 1: been trying, man. Yo. It's so crazy too, because even
- 20:13Speaker 1: like you said, like the screwed up shit was so
- 20:16Speaker 1: wild in that time, like I would have everyone hit me.
- 20:20Speaker 1: All my homies from A Z would be like, Yo,
- 20:23Speaker 1: could you screw and chop the fifty cent album for me? Yeah? Yeah?
- 20:28Speaker 1: Or like everybody like really there was like a like
- 20:31Speaker 1: in Phoenix, you know, everybody wanted every album to be
- 20:34Speaker 1: chopped and screwed. And my cousin was one of those guys.
- 20:36Speaker 1: I didn't fucking I was like bron I mean yeah, yeah,
- 20:39Speaker 1: like I don't get that. Maybe I'm not on lean.
- 20:41Speaker 1: I don't know what it is, but no, it's crazy.
- 20:44Speaker 1: But it's good to see you guys coming together in
- 20:47Speaker 1: twenty twenty two. Man. Term of course you're always active, Yeah,
- 20:50Speaker 1: of course, I feel like you're always dropping. How many
- 20:54Speaker 1: albums are you in? So far? I got forty four projects? Hell,
- 20:59Speaker 1: but you got I don't know, get to work. I
- 21:03Speaker 1: had about forty two. I don't think he gotta save
- 21:05Speaker 1: them out. I just think it. You know, maybe he
- 21:08Speaker 1: just didn't count him, you know what I'm saying. But yeah,
- 21:10Speaker 1: we yeah, man, we wrapped, that's what we do. I mean,
- 21:12Speaker 1: you gotta be north at twenty at least with all
- 21:14Speaker 1: the joint product. I think he got forty yeah, because
- 21:18Speaker 1: you know, a lot of them don't come up on
- 21:19Speaker 1: a DSPs, you know what I mean. So I'm counting
- 21:22Speaker 1: all of them like from not like demos, I'm kind
- 21:24Speaker 1: of like the real ones with the barcodes and actually
- 21:27Speaker 1: forty four forty four yeah, wow, it's about five done too,
- 21:31Speaker 1: just sitting there. So that are coming soon? Yeah, because
- 21:33Speaker 1: you know, one at a time, you know what I'm saying.
- 21:35Speaker 1: That's got to be some nice just residual catalog income
- 21:38Speaker 1: coming there. It's pretty cool. I have a joke on
- 21:41Speaker 1: my daughter, right. She used to wake up and go
- 21:43Speaker 1: to school in the morning, and she'd be mad as
- 21:45Speaker 1: hell at me. She'd be like, why do you get
- 21:47Speaker 1: to sleep all day? Like she'd be mad because she
- 21:49Speaker 1: waking up at six teeth but looking at me in
- 21:52Speaker 1: the bed like bye. So I had to sit it
- 21:54Speaker 1: down with them, like I make money when I sleep
- 21:57Speaker 1: every day. I don't have to go to work. I
- 22:00Speaker 1: have to go to school. I already put in my work.
- 22:02Speaker 1: So what you gotta do is figure out how you're
- 22:04Speaker 1: gonna do a bunch of things that will make you
- 22:06Speaker 1: money while you're sleeping. And like I broke that down
- 22:09Speaker 1: to her. She she you know, she's only ten. She
- 22:11Speaker 1: already gets it. So I get it data. I'm gonna
- 22:13Speaker 1: write books, I'm gonna sell art, I'm gonna make jewry
- 22:17Speaker 1: so that way people can go on my website and
- 22:18Speaker 1: buy it while I'm at school and I'm making money.
- 22:21Speaker 1: And I'm like, exactly, you know, that's that's what it is.
- 22:24Speaker 1: You know. I feel like if you're an independent artist
- 22:26Speaker 1: and you're not always dropping, you're you're slipping, cause it's like,
- 22:30Speaker 1: like you said, you're just adding to like it's free
- 22:32Speaker 1: money your I mean yeah, and it's and the overhead
- 22:36Speaker 1: of making music nowadays is not what it used to be, right,
- 22:39Speaker 1: Like you used to have to go to the studio
- 22:40Speaker 1: and having it like now if like if you really
- 22:43Speaker 1: you could record at your house. Yeah, in fact, you're
- 22:46Speaker 1: doing it on your I phone if you if you
- 22:47Speaker 1: don't really want to, I mean, to make that album
- 22:50Speaker 1: would have cost us, you know, ten times more ten
- 22:53Speaker 1: years ago, twenty years ago. So basically everybody on there
- 22:56Speaker 1: is our friend. Yeah, I know, I'm seeing of course
- 22:58Speaker 1: bunn Is on the album out to White's pea Shot,
- 23:01Speaker 1: Crooked Eyes on there, Yepnams grilling ems been around a
- 23:06Speaker 1: long time, Shine, That's what we love though we you know,
- 23:09Speaker 1: me and Paul we kind of like some we're underdogs,
- 23:12Speaker 1: Like you know what I'm saying. People know my name
- 23:14Speaker 1: all through the industry. I got a lot of die
- 23:16Speaker 1: hard fans. Obviously Paul has had commercial success, but still
- 23:20Speaker 1: we you know, we still feel like we still want
- 23:22Speaker 1: people to hear what we got to say. So he's
- 23:25Speaker 1: still kind of like an underdog. How do you feel
- 23:27Speaker 1: about it because your areas. Finally, I feel like there's
- 23:30Speaker 1: some bias nationally, right, and she's been doing her thing
- 23:33Speaker 1: for a very long time. But it was good to
- 23:34Speaker 1: see her finally breakthrough. Exactly. It's had to be a
- 23:38Speaker 1: Milli's is going crazy killing it. Uh, there's always I
- 23:41Speaker 1: just feel like Boston's always kind of been a u
- 23:45Speaker 1: underappreciated or maybe just there hasn't been a big of enough.
- 23:49Speaker 1: I mean it's really been you and Static, really be
- 23:51Speaker 1: Static and slave for a long time. Yeah, you know
- 23:53Speaker 1: what I mean. Uh, the first generation was like ed
- 23:56Speaker 1: O g Uh, you know, Almighty Hour Sou, you know,
- 24:01Speaker 1: Big Sugar Guru started Gangstar. So you know, the eighties
- 24:05Speaker 1: to the early nineties. You know, being at Boston is
- 24:08Speaker 1: so close to New York. There is a golden era
- 24:11Speaker 1: of Boston hip hop. And then that next wave was
- 24:14Speaker 1: like you know, Esoteric, who does our face now? Missed
- 24:17Speaker 1: the Lift? The Underground that right then that next right
- 24:22Speaker 1: crumb Snatcher, that scientific recipece from Lawrence. So like that
- 24:27Speaker 1: was the original eighties and nineties wave and then me
- 24:30Speaker 1: Static Slain Rex we came after and we held it
- 24:34Speaker 1: down for like ten whole years. It was just us
- 24:37Speaker 1: like it wasn't it wasn't nothing for sure. For sure.
- 24:39Speaker 1: Then now this era we got like via Millie's uh,
- 24:43Speaker 1: what's the name joining Lucas cousin stairs this how far
- 24:47Speaker 1: is joining from Boston. He like forty five minutes. You know,
- 24:50Speaker 1: Lucas is going crazy. He fired too. So it's just
- 24:52Speaker 1: like now it's starting to get you know, the artists
- 24:55Speaker 1: are starting to get national recognition, which feels good for
- 24:58Speaker 1: the city because for a long time, like I said,
- 25:00Speaker 1: it was just me and Static and slain. You know,
- 25:02Speaker 1: was it hard to get over the stereotype of being
- 25:05Speaker 1: from Boston because I feel like when people think of Boston,
- 25:07Speaker 1: they think of racist white people. They do. But you know,
- 25:11Speaker 1: like you said, I'm from Lawrence, which is way different.
- 25:13Speaker 1: Everybody's Puerto Rican and Dominican and Lawrence. So not's a
- 25:15Speaker 1: beautiful woman in Lauren. Yeah, you know the vibes. So
- 25:17Speaker 1: it's like in my city, it's it's more like the Bronx.
- 25:20Speaker 1: It's the little Bronx. So that's that's kind of been
- 25:24Speaker 1: my mission was to put the nine seven eight, put
- 25:26Speaker 1: Lawrence on the map since I came in the game
- 25:28Speaker 1: when I had the Kate Swiss deal. I was in
- 25:30Speaker 1: all the Double Excels for nine months, Kate Swiss, all
- 25:33Speaker 1: this Lawrence Mass, Lawrence Mass. You know, uh, Double Excel Show,
- 25:37Speaker 1: Improved Lawrence Mass, Source Unsigned Hype, Lawrence Mass, BT ciphered
- 25:42Speaker 1: with Fresh Montana Lawrence Mass. So that was my thing,
- 25:45Speaker 1: was like put Lawrence on the map and differentiate us
- 25:48Speaker 1: from Boston, but still rep Boston because Boston is the capitol.
- 25:51Speaker 1: Of course, you know, with this album, who like you
- 25:55Speaker 1: say you started this project? Did he started? We kind
- 25:58Speaker 1: of started it together. But the thing is he had
- 26:01Speaker 1: a few sessions with Static on his own, and then
- 26:03Speaker 1: I had a few sessions with Static, and then we
- 26:05Speaker 1: just started kind of messing everything together fire. I think
- 26:09Speaker 1: I think, uh, maybe the Pete Rock song we did,
- 26:13Speaker 1: which was one of the earlier ones we did where
- 26:16Speaker 1: it was like, you know, the first one we did
- 26:18Speaker 1: was probably want to Give Thanks. It was us together,
- 26:22Speaker 1: but then I think the Pete Rock might have been
- 26:24Speaker 1: like second or third after that. And when we you know,
- 26:27Speaker 1: we're on a pete rock beat, that's huge for me,
- 26:29Speaker 1: Oh my god, huge for anybody anybody. So both of us,
- 26:34Speaker 1: you know, we're just talking about that, like, man, we
- 26:36Speaker 1: can't believe we're on a peat rock beat together, Like
- 26:38Speaker 1: that's dope, and that that really kind of brought us
- 26:41Speaker 1: and the way we kind of came on there to
- 26:43Speaker 1: bring both of our styles together, you know what I'm saying.
- 26:45Speaker 1: It was like that was kind of like one of
- 26:47Speaker 1: the main dominoes that knocked the race down. And then
- 26:50Speaker 1: Thailand was next. Yea, Thailand was next where it was like,
- 26:53Speaker 1: made that beat. I made that, and that's that's the
- 26:55Speaker 1: one we're butler it. After that, that's when he was like, yo,
- 26:58Speaker 1: you got something else, you got something. That's when it
- 26:59Speaker 1: was like we had three and it's like, bro, you
- 27:02Speaker 1: got three, you might as well do a project at
- 27:04Speaker 1: that point, why not. It's like you know how some
- 27:06Speaker 1: actors will be like, Okay, I want to go do
- 27:09Speaker 1: a movie with Quentin Tarantino. I'll do it for free.
- 27:11Speaker 1: I just want to do it for free. That's how
- 27:13Speaker 1: it was doing this type of facts with the where
- 27:16Speaker 1: I don't mean money wise, because that's never an issue
- 27:19Speaker 1: or topic, but it's just the opportunity to do this
- 27:23Speaker 1: type of music with people that you admire, respect, inspire you,
- 27:28Speaker 1: people that are iconic and legendary. It was like man,
- 27:31Speaker 1: we couldn't wait to get in the studio on any beat,
- 27:34Speaker 1: any the static or the Center, so Pete Rock or yeah, man,
- 27:38Speaker 1: we could not wait. And every every time we do
- 27:41Speaker 1: something it was exactly that. It was like working with
- 27:43Speaker 1: Denzel or working with whoever. You know what I'm saying,
- 27:46Speaker 1: This is one of the easiest projects I've done, Like Pause,
- 27:49Speaker 1: the easiest guy to work with, Like so easy. I've
- 27:52Speaker 1: had people who are not even close to his status
- 27:55Speaker 1: of an artist act like a diva with me, And
- 27:57Speaker 1: I mean that should happen to a lot. It happens.
- 27:59Speaker 1: And that's just you get the D list artists that
- 28:01Speaker 1: that act crazy with you. People are just if they
- 28:03Speaker 1: act like that when they get a little bit of cloud.
- 28:05Speaker 1: They've always been weenies. Right, Yeah, that's a funny word.
- 28:08Speaker 1: I heard that word fucking weenies. Man. For you, like,
- 28:14Speaker 1: you've had so many different errors of your career. I
- 28:17Speaker 1: feel like, you know, obviously the way things kicked off
- 28:20Speaker 1: and then you started to uh kind of hang with
- 28:23Speaker 1: Travis a lot and the Expensive Taste, and you know
- 28:27Speaker 1: you collab You collaborate with so many artists over your career, man, Like,
- 28:31Speaker 1: what has kind of been like outside of this project
- 28:34Speaker 1: like your other favorite collab project you've been a part of. Oh,
- 28:38Speaker 1: definitely the ones with my heroes. You know. I got
- 28:41Speaker 1: one with Slim Thug that I love. It's, you know,
- 28:43Speaker 1: very under the radar. I got one with Little Kiki that,
- 28:47Speaker 1: oh my god, you can put that in my grave,
- 28:50Speaker 1: you know, put that in my cast and when I die.
- 28:52Speaker 1: I got one with Richter Factor that we haven't released yet.
- 28:55Speaker 1: I got one with the Jack Arrest in Peace did
- 28:57Speaker 1: all right, Yeah we haven't. We did that and like
- 29:00Speaker 1: I was an eight or something, I was and nine
- 29:02Speaker 1: and we just never released it and one day it'll
- 29:05Speaker 1: come out. But that one's amazing too. A few collad
- 29:09Speaker 1: projects I got with you know, different producers. I got
- 29:12Speaker 1: a collad project with Day One we haven't released yet.
- 29:17Speaker 1: So I got a lot of the unreleased. But you know,
- 29:19Speaker 1: I think that in terms of most favorite, it is
- 29:22Speaker 1: probably definitely a little Kiky and the risk of Factor
- 29:25Speaker 1: one that that hasn't come out yet, but I'm looking
- 29:28Speaker 1: forward to it. Man me and DJ Fresh thinking about
- 29:30Speaker 1: doing one together. We're talking about it. So it's a
- 29:33Speaker 1: It's a few I like doing. Even when I was
- 29:35Speaker 1: making albums, I would like to have like a vibe
- 29:39Speaker 1: or feel to it to where Okay, I got a
- 29:41Speaker 1: main producer. We got a main producer who produced you know,
- 29:44Speaker 1: eight or how many tracks, right, and then a few
- 29:47Speaker 1: other producers I fuck with to do the rest. But
- 29:50Speaker 1: at least there's gonna be a core sound, you know
- 29:52Speaker 1: what I'm saying, where it's one main producer doing so
- 29:55Speaker 1: even now I've been doing that like a little further,
- 29:58Speaker 1: like boring that a little bit more. Where I do
- 30:01Speaker 1: the whole project is one producer, where it's a whole vibe.
- 30:04Speaker 1: And you know, it take a little while to get
- 30:07Speaker 1: to where you want to go as you work together
- 30:09Speaker 1: with the producer raking, you know, because they might have
- 30:11Speaker 1: their ideas. You got their ideas, your ideas, and you
- 30:13Speaker 1: just you know, mesh them together. But you know when
- 30:16Speaker 1: when you get to go in with just to me,
- 30:17Speaker 1: that brings back the you know, the when I fell
- 30:20Speaker 1: in love with hip hop. That's how it was. It

- 31:43Speaker 1: Can you give me the story about Drive Slow Man,
- 31:47Speaker 1: Drive Slow. That's one of my favorite Kanye songs ever.
- 31:50Speaker 1: Lay Registration is my favorite album. Yeah Man, playing Pat
- 31:55Speaker 1: shout out to Playing Past playing Pat? What up? Yeah? Uh?
- 31:59Speaker 1: He hit me up, was like, hey, I know you
- 32:02Speaker 1: You met Kanye. You said y'all were cool. I had.
- 32:05Speaker 1: I had met him at a at an interview. We
- 32:07Speaker 1: were all doing like a big interview one time, and
- 32:09Speaker 1: I talked to him about making him some grills. And
- 32:12Speaker 1: then from there that's what kind of led to you know,
- 32:14Speaker 1: Playing Past saying, hey, I know you met Kanye. You
- 32:17Speaker 1: know who, why don't we try to do a song together.
- 32:19Speaker 1: Of course I'm like, yeah, of course, And he said,
- 32:22Speaker 1: I asked Kanye. He said he down with it. But
- 32:25Speaker 1: you know, he might not use your verse. You know,
- 32:27Speaker 1: he might not use the song at all. He might
- 32:29Speaker 1: take you off, Dona. You know what I'm saying. That's
- 32:31Speaker 1: basically what he was telling me. That shit, you might
- 32:33Speaker 1: get on there. He might not like it, so if
- 32:34Speaker 1: you do, don't be mad. But it's an opportunity. And
- 32:37Speaker 1: I'm like, shit, you ain't gotta tell me. I know what,
- 32:39Speaker 1: even back then, before he was just Kanye the producer,
- 32:42Speaker 1: you know, people didn't really respect his bars, but at
- 32:44Speaker 1: that time I did. I loved his bars. I didn't
- 32:47Speaker 1: like his beats. I thought his bars was way doper
- 32:51Speaker 1: than his beats at the time, because that particular style
- 32:53Speaker 1: when he was sampling a lot of the soul samples
- 32:55Speaker 1: I was into because a lot of them sou samples
- 32:57Speaker 1: didn't have to beat the bass or they would have it,
- 33:00Speaker 1: but it would come in and out so that they
- 33:02Speaker 1: could highlight the samples. And you know, it just is
- 33:04Speaker 1: what it is. I have my particular style I like,
- 33:06Speaker 1: but it's bars I love. And I hear him talking
- 33:08Speaker 1: about that, how people didn't want him to rap, they
- 33:11Speaker 1: only want him to make beats, and I'm like, what now,
- 33:12Speaker 1: y'all crazy? This man was spinning. But you know, when
- 33:16Speaker 1: I had even from then, I knew the opportunity was
- 33:18Speaker 1: their amazing opportunity to get on a song with Kanye West,
- 33:22Speaker 1: and I didn't think he was going to use it.
- 33:24Speaker 1: I went in there actually, the verse I I did
- 33:27Speaker 1: for actually was the original verse I had wrote for
- 33:30Speaker 1: Sitting Sideways. When I did Sitting Sideways. At first, it
- 33:34Speaker 1: was the first time I had ever did a song
- 33:36Speaker 1: with Big Pokey, and Little Kikey was on it too,
- 33:39Speaker 1: and it was the first time I had ever did
- 33:41Speaker 1: a song with Lok Kiki. But the record label Atlantic said, hey,
- 33:45Speaker 1: big Pokey is not signed to anybody, He's an independent artist.
- 33:48Speaker 1: Litk Kiky's not signed to anybody. He's an independent artist.
- 33:52Speaker 1: You be and me pow Wow the artists who signed
- 33:54Speaker 1: the Atlantic Pow Wow. The artists were trying to push
- 33:57Speaker 1: Pow Wow album's ones were trying to sell I know,
- 34:00Speaker 1: these your homeboys, but you can't put them both on it.
- 34:02Speaker 1: You can put one of them on there. And I'm
- 34:04Speaker 1: trying to explain, like, man, look, they're not just my homeboys.
- 34:06Speaker 1: These are the originators of the sound, you know, these
- 34:10Speaker 1: are the originators of the Houston culture. Like it's bigger
- 34:13Speaker 1: than just somebody I like and listen to. But they
- 34:15Speaker 1: didn't really see it or get it. And I don't know,
- 34:17Speaker 1: maybe they were right. They you know, we ended up
- 34:19Speaker 1: having to take somebody out. We took a little Kiky
- 34:21Speaker 1: Off Big Pokey was on the sample, so I felt like, well,
- 34:23Speaker 1: if he was on the hook, so I felt like, well,
- 34:26Speaker 1: if we're gonna sample him for the hook, we should
- 34:27Speaker 1: give him a verse on there as well, you know.
- 34:30Speaker 1: And at the end of the day, even though it
- 34:31Speaker 1: was my song, I felt like, it's a really big
- 34:33Speaker 1: Pokey song because it's his sample for the hook, you know.
- 34:38Speaker 1: But I originally had a verse that I wrote because
- 34:42Speaker 1: this is how I used to write. I used to
- 34:43Speaker 1: get like brain fog. So if I'm anywhere and I
- 34:47Speaker 1: hear music going, I can't think because the music is
- 34:49Speaker 1: just is just distracting me, or you know, I'm talking
- 34:53Speaker 1: to you, or I'm looking at the plaques on the walls,
- 34:55Speaker 1: focusing on my verse. So I would get a beat,
- 34:57Speaker 1: get the tempo, maybe come up with an opening bar,
- 35:00Speaker 1: and then go into the bathroom where it's quiet, going
- 35:03Speaker 1: to my car outside where it's completely silent and just
- 35:06Speaker 1: right and silence, so all I can focus on is
- 35:09Speaker 1: just my verse. So sometimes I do that, come back
- 35:12Speaker 1: and lay it, and the tempo will be a little
- 35:14Speaker 1: off because I'm right not to the beat. Yeah, I
- 35:18Speaker 1: go back in there and it's a little so that's
- 35:20Speaker 1: kind of how it was. I went in there, I
- 35:22Speaker 1: spit the verse, my original verse, which ended up being
- 35:25Speaker 1: the drive Slow verse, and my boy Tif Ferris was like,
- 35:27Speaker 1: it was me little Kiky and big Pokey and why
- 35:30Speaker 1: at the very beginning of the song say it's big Pokey,
- 35:34Speaker 1: little Kiky and power wild Baby. But they had to
- 35:36Speaker 1: mute out the little keky. So it's big Pokey and
- 35:40Speaker 1: wild baby. See what you hear? You be like, okay,
- 35:42Speaker 1: damn they did mute it out. Well anyway, Tie Ferris say, look, man,
- 35:47Speaker 1: the verse hard Naw, I ain't saying as whack, but
- 35:50Speaker 1: it don't go with the beat. It just don't flow
- 35:52Speaker 1: with the beat. I really think you should write a
- 35:56Speaker 1: new verse because you already got to write a new
- 35:58Speaker 1: one anyway to replace little Keys verse. So I really
- 36:01Speaker 1: think you should write two new verses that go to
- 36:04Speaker 1: this song. Just try it. And I was like, man,
- 36:06Speaker 1: you're crazy. This verse hard? You crazy? Tie Ferris was
- 36:08Speaker 1: like my coach. He was like the main person that
- 36:10Speaker 1: believed in me. He saw the vision for it when
- 36:12Speaker 1: I couldn't see it. When I thought I was over
- 36:15Speaker 1: and done, you know, in two thousand and two, when
- 36:17Speaker 1: I thought I was over and done. That was the
- 36:19Speaker 1: end of my That's what everybody in Houston was telling
- 36:21Speaker 1: me to. By the way, I wouldn't ship with I.
- 36:23Speaker 1: Come in there, tie fair, come and say, man, look,
- 36:26Speaker 1: I believe in your best days in front of you,
- 36:27Speaker 1: not behind you. Man, I don't think you better would
- 36:32Speaker 1: come here. Of course y'all dope together, but I think
- 36:34Speaker 1: you dope being yourself. He really kind of gave me
- 36:36Speaker 1: that encourage me and bleed in me. And when I didn't,
- 36:38Speaker 1: when I thought it was over, so okay, he's telling me, Man, okay,
- 36:41Speaker 1: this is verse hard, but redo it. I'm like, man,
- 36:43Speaker 1: he crazy and any kind of snapping my mind. I
- 36:45Speaker 1: could see the disappointment in his face. And he's like,
- 36:47Speaker 1: all right, if you don't, if you don't want, you
- 36:48Speaker 1: don't even want to try. It's cool. You're the artist.
- 36:50Speaker 1: It's your word. Whatever you say, I'm gonna go with it.
- 36:53Speaker 1: But I just think he's try it's cool. And I said, man,
- 36:55Speaker 1: you know what I'm letting my I'm letting my coach down, man,
- 36:58Speaker 1: Phil Jackson, call up a play. I'm not gonna be
- 37:00Speaker 1: scotted pipping on the bench now. I ain't going in again,
- 37:02Speaker 1: right you ain't give me the ball. I ain't going
- 37:04Speaker 1: again now. Man, I'm my coach calling to play. He
- 37:07Speaker 1: knows something or he sees something, or he's playing something
- 37:09Speaker 1: that I don't comprehend yet don't matter. I'm not the coach,
- 37:13Speaker 1: he's the coach. I gotta let him do his job
- 37:15Speaker 1: of coach. And at the very least I could try it,
- 37:18Speaker 1: and if it's whack, we ain't got to use it.
- 37:19Speaker 1: So I said, okay, I'm gonna try the two new verses.
- 37:22Speaker 1: Boom that's sitting sideways. But I had that original verse
- 37:25Speaker 1: in my pocket, like okay, I'm I know I'm saying
- 37:27Speaker 1: some shit on here. I'm gonna save this for if
- 37:31Speaker 1: you know, jay Z want me on the verse or
- 37:33Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, or somebody want me on something.
- 37:35Speaker 1: And I've been out all night and I ain't got time,
- 37:37Speaker 1: and we in the studio like man, and it's a
- 37:39Speaker 1: big major opportunity. Oh, come and use it for that.
- 37:41Speaker 1: So when plain Pat hit me and say I got something,
- 37:44Speaker 1: I think and I say, man, first thing I thought
- 37:46Speaker 1: was man in verse said when found it? Right found?
- 37:51Speaker 1: And I used to say, because we'll write out, we'll
- 37:53Speaker 1: write out versus and sometimes you know, the hard driver
- 37:56Speaker 1: crash or something. So if you don't have it saved somewhere,
- 37:59Speaker 1: well rest in peace to your verse. Ye. So I
- 38:02Speaker 1: learned a lesson, man. I got to save the written verses.
- 38:05Speaker 1: So somewhere I got the actual written verse somewhere. You know,
- 38:10Speaker 1: yeah is coming, man, It's coming for sure. When it
- 38:16Speaker 1: worked it, I laid it playing past, say man, look,
- 38:19Speaker 1: I did it at my studio senter to him playing past,
- 38:21Speaker 1: say look, I don't like it, but he wants you
- 38:23Speaker 1: to come out here to La and lay it because
- 38:25Speaker 1: he got a few things he wants you to do.
- 38:27Speaker 1: Maybe something for the hook, maybe this. He's got a
- 38:28Speaker 1: lot of ideas, man, bet. But at the whole time,
- 38:32Speaker 1: I'm thinking, at the end of the day, my verse
- 38:34Speaker 1: is not gonna be on that something is gonna happen
- 38:37Speaker 1: to prevent my verse from being either he not gonna
- 38:39Speaker 1: like it, I'm gonna be whack or don't match or
- 38:42Speaker 1: something somebody the label not gonna like it, somebody you
- 38:44Speaker 1: know something. I just had it him set in my mind.
- 38:46Speaker 1: I'm gonna do whatever I gotta do. Ain't no way
- 38:48Speaker 1: this verse going on there, man. They taking me off
- 38:50Speaker 1: of Donda. Man, I knew that, man. But even when
- 38:53Speaker 1: we landed out there. Man, I remember we landed in
- 38:55Speaker 1: LA We're coming down the escalator LA X going to
- 38:59Speaker 1: the backs claim. As soon as we get to the
- 39:01Speaker 1: bottom of escalator, two detectives one come to my boy
- 39:03Speaker 1: good one come to me say yeah, man, they started
- 39:06Speaker 1: talking to us. I'm like, man, we're getting punked because
- 39:07Speaker 1: Mike Joneson just got pumped. So when you get punked,
- 39:10Speaker 1: you punk somebody else. So I was like, man, they coming.
- 39:13Speaker 1: They tied he to try to pump. I think Travis
- 39:15Speaker 1: Barker got punked too, So I'm like, man, I got
- 39:18Speaker 1: it from multiple angles. I'm like, man, I hope, I'm
- 39:20Speaker 1: they about to try to punk me. Man, I ain't
- 39:22Speaker 1: from punk me, so I was ready. Man, I come
- 39:24Speaker 1: down there. Detectives. You know, they hey, way, I come
- 39:27Speaker 1: from this and that I'm talking crazy to them because
- 39:30Speaker 1: I'm thinking they're actors. You know. You're like, I'm about
- 39:31Speaker 1: thinking I don't talk crazy to police because I know
- 39:34Speaker 1: what they came full of shit and it's an LA
- 39:37Speaker 1: Sheriff's pot whatever that man, Come on, man, they easily
- 39:40Speaker 1: could have ate come with us and then ship it
- 39:42Speaker 1: would have been a long night for me. But I
- 39:44Speaker 1: looked at my boy good and he just looking at
- 39:46Speaker 1: me like crazy, Like, man, what you doing talking crazy?
- 39:48Speaker 1: I'm just talking disrespectful clo, you know, just going off
- 39:51Speaker 1: on them. And then the officer that was on me
- 39:54Speaker 1: the other he was getting upset and the other officer
- 39:56Speaker 1: was like, what was going on? May come on, let's
- 39:58Speaker 1: just go. And then they just went to somebody else.
- 40:00Speaker 1: They just wanted to check out bads. I don't know.
- 40:01Speaker 1: I'm just like, y'all, I ain't got shit going on
- 40:05Speaker 1: with you know, ship got into a Kanye session. Yeah,
- 40:08Speaker 1: so I'm thinking, okay, I knew he was getting pumped.
- 40:10Speaker 1: Ain't no Kanye session, you know whatever. Then they leave
- 40:13Speaker 1: and I'm like, wait, we're asking to cut you at
- 40:15Speaker 1: we ain't getting pumped, and Google like now, dummy, we
- 40:18Speaker 1: ain't getting pumped with you. He was about to get
- 40:19Speaker 1: his arrested him. Could you really have people out here
- 40:21Speaker 1: fucking almost getting sucked up in these streets? Hey, hey,
- 40:24Speaker 1: that ain't it. Then we went to the hotel. Okay,
- 40:28Speaker 1: I dropped goof goose stay at the hotel and I
- 40:30Speaker 1: went to the studio session. I'm in a car service
- 40:32Speaker 1: going to the studio session. We pull up to the
- 40:34Speaker 1: whole to the studio. The driver don't exactly know where
- 40:37Speaker 1: the studio's at because it's not you know, a big
- 40:39Speaker 1: giant sign outside and say studio here right, So he
- 40:42Speaker 1: pulls up. We're in a left hand lane, the far
- 40:45Speaker 1: left hand lane. The studio was on the right. We're
- 40:48Speaker 1: at a stoplight. It's red. He said, I don't know.
- 40:51Speaker 1: Oh there it is right there, and he just break
- 40:53Speaker 1: everybody off. It's a red light. He just turned. He
- 40:55Speaker 1: went a far left hand lane. He turned right over
- 40:58Speaker 1: three or four lanes of traffic and turned right onto
- 41:01Speaker 1: the street. It just so happened it was a cop
- 41:02Speaker 1: right there that he couldn't see it was getting blocked.
- 41:04Speaker 1: So woo woo. We get pulled over and I'm like, fuck,
- 41:06Speaker 1: they couldn't get me in part one at the airport,
- 41:09Speaker 1: so now they punking me. I'm like, I knew it's
- 41:11Speaker 1: too good to be true doing song Kanye Man, you know,
- 41:14Speaker 1: he getting he getting the ticket, all this kind of stuff.
- 41:16Speaker 1: I'm asking the cop man, can I can I leave?
- 41:18Speaker 1: Can I go? And they're like, yeah, I ain't giving
- 41:20Speaker 1: you no ticket. I'm like, ship, I'm out I go
- 41:22Speaker 1: do my verse. I'm like, shit, well asked the cutcher ship.
- 41:25Speaker 1: It ain't so even even up until it came out.
- 41:28Speaker 1: It wouldn't til Dj Drama called me and he said, hey,
- 41:30Speaker 1: you want comeye album. I was like, I don't know,
- 41:32Speaker 1: it ain't come out here. They might have took me
- 41:34Speaker 1: off done look so so shit like now you own here,
- 41:38Speaker 1: I'm at the listening party. Now come out tomorrow or
- 41:41Speaker 1: next week. Whenever He's like, nah, it's only you on here.
- 41:44Speaker 1: I'm like, damn no ship like man and man shout
- 41:48Speaker 1: out the plane path. How much of the song was
- 41:50Speaker 1: like did they just send you the beat or was
- 41:52Speaker 1: the song pretty much done? When he said when I
- 41:54Speaker 1: first originally did it was just the beat. It was
- 41:56Speaker 1: no hook, no nothing, It was just the beat. And
- 41:58Speaker 1: he was like it was a concept. The concept is
- 42:01Speaker 1: just drive slow. But I didn't know like where he
- 42:03Speaker 1: went with his verse, it was like, you know, be
- 42:05Speaker 1: caut you know, be cautious when you live in your life.
- 42:07Speaker 1: Don't live a fast life, drive slow in your life.
- 42:10Speaker 1: You know. It was more you know, conceptually, like a
- 42:13Speaker 1: different type of where I went slab with it, you
- 42:16Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, Where I was talking about really
- 42:18Speaker 1: driving slow in a car. It was a little bit,
- 42:19Speaker 1: a little bit different. And GLC came at the end.
- 42:22Speaker 1: You know, I killed it too. Yeah, shout out GLC. Man,
- 42:25Speaker 1: the whole the whole thing put together. Man, was it
- 42:29Speaker 1: was definitely you know when I heard it, when it
- 42:31Speaker 1: was finished, you know what I'm saying. It was definitely
- 42:33Speaker 1: definitely very different than when I first laid my verse
- 42:36Speaker 1: to it. But you know that's that just goes to
- 42:38Speaker 1: the vision of Kanye Man when he got a vision
- 42:40Speaker 1: for some man and he put it together. Man, he's
- 42:42Speaker 1: a genius. That's a big deal. Man, that's a big deal. Hey,
- 42:46Speaker 1: that's why I still ain't Hey, I know, just hey,
- 42:49Speaker 1: he can re release that bitch right now without my verse,
- 42:52Speaker 1: and what am I gonna it? Ain't taking me off
- 42:55Speaker 1: down the Wasn't there two versions of that record? It
- 42:57Speaker 1: was like a live version, right, well, it was that version,
- 42:59Speaker 1: and then it was another version with t I with
- 43:02Speaker 1: t I like it was like a kind of like
- 43:04Speaker 1: a remix. Was the same thing. It was the same song,
- 43:06Speaker 1: just was with TI I's versus added and n t
- 43:09Speaker 1: I put it on his album. So that was ship.
- 43:11Speaker 1: Even then when we did the song. We did it
- 43:13Speaker 1: on Kanye's album with Craig Calvin, who was CEO, I
- 43:17Speaker 1: don't know what his title, president something whatever. He now Atlantic. Yeah,
- 43:20Speaker 1: he was like, hey, what you think, why don't we
- 43:23Speaker 1: put that on your album too? And people don't do that,
- 43:26Speaker 1: and you know we do that on the Underground of course,
- 43:28Speaker 1: but when it's a Kanye West song, Man, ain't no
- 43:30Speaker 1: way Kanye letting you put his song on your album.
- 43:34Speaker 1: So I'm like, man, gonna do that, yes, man, the
- 43:38Speaker 1: label ain't no way. The label gonna clear. But jay
- 43:41Speaker 1: Z was the president of the Depth Jam and then
- 43:45Speaker 1: I seen Hole the mtvars and he said, hey, you
- 43:48Speaker 1: know you owe me right what you need a ship? Oh?
- 43:57Speaker 1: You for life? What you mean ship? That is? That
- 44:00Speaker 1: is legit? Man? Yeah, that's so crazy. So that was
- 44:03Speaker 1: originally going to be on the original Sitting Sideways the verse, yeah,
- 44:06Speaker 1: the versus because the original, since Sidewest I only had
- 44:09Speaker 1: one verse and that was that was it. So when
- 44:12Speaker 1: when you go back to I don't know, maybe we
- 44:14Speaker 1: need to do you need to do a blend of
- 44:16Speaker 1: that verse with the sin Sideways beat to see how
- 44:18Speaker 1: it sounds. Shout out to t Ferris, who's doing this
- 44:20Speaker 1: thing right now with Megan? Yeah? Man shot t Ferris
- 44:22Speaker 1: who saw the vision? Who because legend man for real?
- 44:25Speaker 1: If he if he wouldn't have told me, hey man,
- 44:27Speaker 1: do something else, then you know, the Domino wouldn't fail
- 44:30Speaker 1: that way. They did a big shoutout to Fairs. Yeah.
- 44:33Speaker 1: It's funny because I remember when I interviewed Megan and
- 44:36Speaker 1: he introduced himself. I was like, Poe, yeah yeah, so
- 44:41Speaker 1: many times heaving who he is? What's going on with
- 44:47Speaker 1: Good Dad Gang Man? We got the we got the
- 44:49Speaker 1: shoe coming. Yeah, really excited about the sneaker. Uh so
- 44:52Speaker 1: you shot Patrick Ewing Man? Yeah? Man, So basically, you know,
- 44:56Speaker 1: every Father's Day we've been doing like different drops. Last
- 44:59Speaker 1: year we did a gag Star Good Dad Gang Star
- 45:01Speaker 1: with the er where we put the Gang Star logo
- 45:04Speaker 1: together with the Good Dad Gang. We did the Diamond
- 45:07Speaker 1: collab the year before. Uh So this year, you know,
- 45:10Speaker 1: we decided to step it up. We did six hundred
- 45:12Speaker 1: pairs exclusive Patrick Ewing Good Dad Gang Collab. Man, So
- 45:18Speaker 1: I'm really excited for that. Drops in May. Does Patrick
- 45:21Speaker 1: still own you and he owns part of it, but
- 45:24Speaker 1: he coaches for the Hoyas. Yeah, so you know, he
- 45:28Speaker 1: I believe he has a deal with Nike, So I
- 45:30Speaker 1: think that's why you probably don't see him wearing the
- 45:31Speaker 1: shoes as much. But he definitely, like you know, is
- 45:34Speaker 1: involved with it, and his family is and and they're
- 45:37Speaker 1: a fan of the sneaker working. Everyone support just because
- 45:41Speaker 1: for people know the hears fly, the hats to fly
- 45:43Speaker 1: where words good Dak gang dot com. You can follow
- 45:46Speaker 1: us on Instagram at good that Gang. We've been rocking
- 45:49Speaker 1: for seven years now. Started out as a hashtag real
- 45:52Speaker 1: Grass Grassrooots movement and just has so much support. You
- 45:57Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. I've had Jamie Fox call my
- 45:59Speaker 1: phone and be like, yo, I love the brand, how
- 46:02Speaker 1: can I help? He put it on his Instagram. You know,
- 46:05Speaker 1: people like Ludacris, Charlomagne to God Bun Bead the locks.
- 46:09Speaker 1: We had a commercial last year with Iced Tea and
- 46:12Speaker 1: Logic and ll cool J two chains. You know, so
- 46:16Speaker 1: a lot of people have coach signed the brand and yeah,
- 46:19Speaker 1: it's only up from here man, because what we're doing
- 46:21Speaker 1: is just promoted being a good parent. I mean, you
- 46:23Speaker 1: can't really hate on that. Nobody can hate on that, man. Yeah,
- 46:26Speaker 1: So the sneaker drops up and may hopefully everybody will
- 46:30Speaker 1: get it in time so you could wear it on
- 46:32Speaker 1: Father's Day, which is juwe Larnteeth June nineteen, Big day
- 46:35Speaker 1: for you guys. Yeah, every year, every year just for
- 46:38Speaker 1: me as a dad, you know, because I didn't start
- 46:39Speaker 1: Good Dad Gang to make money. I started it just
- 46:42Speaker 1: because I love my kids. I just think it's a dope,
- 46:45Speaker 1: dope thing to like push man. Yeah, but it's fire.
- 46:47Speaker 1: People love it. It's funny, like every time I see
- 46:50Speaker 1: Jada kiss, he's like, good Dad Gang, y'all, Good Dad Gang.
- 46:53Speaker 1: It's like it's became like a staple, you know, and
- 46:55Speaker 1: people tag it everywhere when they when they chill with
- 46:59Speaker 1: their kids, and they got we got a hundred tattoos,
- 47:01Speaker 1: people tattooed all over the world, different countries. Yeah, yeah,
- 47:05Speaker 1: we got a hundred tattoos now, So it's cool. Man.
- 47:08Speaker 1: I also wrote a book, got a book dropping later
- 47:10Speaker 1: this year too with that game Father. So it's called
- 47:13Speaker 1: A Hundred Ways to Be a Better Dad. And so
- 47:15Speaker 1: basically what I did was, you know, I went through
- 47:17Speaker 1: a bunch of stuff, Like I went to the self
- 47:20Speaker 1: help section and borders, and I noticed that there was
- 47:24Speaker 1: only five books about fatherhood, and there was like two
- 47:26Speaker 1: hundred about motherhood of course, right, so the five books
- 47:29Speaker 1: was like, uh, what to expect when you're going to
- 47:32Speaker 1: be a dad? That was one book. Another book was
- 47:35Speaker 1: how to help your wife you know what you're expecting
- 47:38Speaker 1: a baby? Right, But there was nothing that said, how
- 47:40Speaker 1: do we help a man? How do we help a
- 47:42Speaker 1: single father? How do we help a husband? How do
- 47:45Speaker 1: we help somebody who's coming out of prison but wants
- 47:47Speaker 1: to be in their kid's life. How do you get
- 47:50Speaker 1: back into your kid's life? How do you help somebody
- 47:53Speaker 1: be a parent? Where you were? You grew up in
- 47:56Speaker 1: an abusive hot told and you don't want to be
- 47:59Speaker 1: like that your kids moving forward. So I touched on
- 48:01Speaker 1: all those different topics and this book is like a
- 48:05Speaker 1: one of a kind book. There's never been a book
- 48:07Speaker 1: for single dads, nonetheless urban dyes, Right, So I'm really
- 48:11Speaker 1: excited about the book. And yeah, that's color lated this
- 48:13Speaker 1: year too. Hey man, Damn, y'all was busy as hell. Man. Yeah,
- 48:16Speaker 1: we work, man, We been working on this side. Yo.
- 48:19Speaker 1: We got to stop the interview real quick to tell
- 48:20Speaker 1: you about our partners at Odds Socks watch this. I've
- 48:23Speaker 1: bet you I got odd socks on right fucking now.
- 48:26Speaker 1: Oh yeah, see them bad boys. These are what we
- 48:28Speaker 1: call the odd socks basics, the ankles, the ankle socks.
- 48:33Speaker 1: All right, go to odd socksofficial dot com right now,
- 48:36Speaker 1: put the website up. Promo codes bootleg CAB. You're gonna
- 48:39Speaker 1: save twenty percent off at checkout. They got so many
- 48:41Speaker 1: crazy ass socks. We got twizzlers fucking Halloween. Uh, I
- 48:46Speaker 1: mean these are kind of satanic. It just says demon.
- 48:49Speaker 1: They were like, let's just do a generic demon sock. Hmm.
- 48:54Speaker 1: I mean this is kind of like, uh, I guess
- 48:58Speaker 1: like if you were in the eighties in Miami doing
- 49:00Speaker 1: cocaine off of a strippers asshole jaws PEPSI I mean,
- 49:03Speaker 1: lesten breaking bad Nickelodeon and keep going. But what's most
- 49:06Speaker 1: important is odd socks is our family. Look, if you
- 49:10Speaker 1: support odd socks, you support the Bootleg Cab podcast. So
- 49:13Speaker 1: go to Bootleg keV. Well, you can go to bootleg

- 49:19Speaker 1: promo code bootleg keV and save twenty percent off at checkout.
- 49:23Speaker 1: Do that ship right now? All right, let's get into
- 49:25Speaker 1: the interview that we've already been inside up. But we're
- 49:27Speaker 1: gonna get back to it right now. Are you still
- 49:29Speaker 1: doing acting stuff, Paul? I'm waiting to be discovered though, Yeah,
- 49:34Speaker 1: but I ain't even discovered. Yeah, I'm trying to be discovered, man,
- 49:39Speaker 1: So hey, what's up? I feel like you've made like cameos.
- 49:42Speaker 1: It's like, yeah, a couple of cameos in there, a
- 49:44Speaker 1: couple of little small roles. I forget what I saw.
- 49:46Speaker 1: I was watching something and I was like, oh, the
- 49:48Speaker 1: fucking Paul Wall was in this. Yeah, and you kinda
- 49:51Speaker 1: kind of put yourself out there, you know. That's one
- 49:53Speaker 1: thing I never really did. I never really like went
- 49:55Speaker 1: on a whole lot of auditions or this or that.
- 49:57Speaker 1: That just kind of you know, dibbling dabb or whatever.
- 50:00Speaker 1: Alas for sure, Yeah, for sure, for sure. Yeah. That's why.
- 50:03Speaker 1: I just kind of just whatever come my way every now.
- 50:05Speaker 1: And I got a friend doing a movie or this
- 50:07Speaker 1: and that, and they throw me in there. My boy
- 50:09Speaker 1: mo Amer, he got a he's a comedian from Houston.
- 50:12Speaker 1: He got a TV show on I think Hulu or Netflix.
- 50:15Speaker 1: I think Netflix, matter of fact, about to come out.
- 50:17Speaker 1: He's an immigrant from Kuwait and Palestine. His family came
- 50:22Speaker 1: here and he's got a hell of a story he
- 50:24Speaker 1: tells it in the stand ups or just of his
- 50:27Speaker 1: mom being such a huge hero for their family and
- 50:29Speaker 1: just what it was like for him as a child
- 50:31Speaker 1: growing up coming from there, coming to Houston Southwest side,
- 50:35Speaker 1: in the southwest Side is a very cultural man. This
- 50:39Speaker 1: is southwest side of Houston is where there's a lot
- 50:42Speaker 1: of immigrants in that area. So that's where there's like
- 50:45Speaker 1: a Chinatown Korean town, you know kind of thing. That's
- 50:48Speaker 1: where there's a huge Nigerian population. Is where there's a
- 50:51Speaker 1: big Palestine Palestinian population, all of that. So in that section,
- 50:56Speaker 1: you know, is where he grew up. He talks about
- 50:58Speaker 1: how you know, you people uh mistook him for being
- 51:01Speaker 1: a Mexican, so like all the gang bangers will be
- 51:04Speaker 1: trying to bang on him. They think he's in a
- 51:06Speaker 1: gang and you know, this and that, and then when
- 51:07Speaker 1: they find out he's Muslim, and you know, people love you. Look,
- 51:10Speaker 1: you know whatever, I'm liking my brother. Like it's just
- 51:13Speaker 1: he talks about all that. So the show is based
- 51:15Speaker 1: on his life. I got like a little small role
- 51:17Speaker 1: in that. That's fire fire just as you're a sports guy.
- 51:23Speaker 1: How do you feel about the Seawan leaving? Do you
- 51:25Speaker 1: like the hall you got? I mean, you know, let's
- 51:29Speaker 1: talk about astros. How no man talking about if y'all
- 51:34Speaker 1: want to, we can talk about the Suns if y'all
- 51:37Speaker 1: really want to. Charles Barkley is behind you on the wall.
- 51:42Speaker 1: We we definitely we uh, we don't know how. I
- 51:44Speaker 1: don't know how to feel, you know, do you know
- 51:46Speaker 1: any of the massage therapists. I don't, actually, at least
- 51:49Speaker 1: as far as I know, but I do know something
- 51:51Speaker 1: that he might have hit up that he never went
- 51:54Speaker 1: to see, you know, but just getting some massage is like, well,
- 51:58Speaker 1: I don't know, because this part I don't. I want
- 52:00Speaker 1: this is the good person in me. I hope he didn't,
- 52:02Speaker 1: of course, none of this, So I want him to.
- 52:04Speaker 1: I want to believe him. But I also, you know,
- 52:07Speaker 1: I know the reality that you know, most women who
- 52:09Speaker 1: get assaulted or any of that, they don't get their
- 52:12Speaker 1: stories not believed. So it's like, damn, how do you
- 52:14Speaker 1: feel I've been falsely accused of something? Though? So I
- 52:17Speaker 1: know that feeling of somebody falsely accusing you just because
- 52:20Speaker 1: of Spikee you know, and it's like shit, you know,
- 52:23Speaker 1: how do you how do you juggle that? So as
- 52:26Speaker 1: a Texans fan, now you got Lovely Smith and Davis Mills.
- 52:30Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, And by the way, I want to thank
- 52:32Speaker 1: you guys for trading us DeAndre Hopkins. That's what I
- 52:36Speaker 1: hope David Johnson's working out for you, man, man bro
- 52:39Speaker 1: as Texans. Okay, it start off with when the Texans
- 52:43Speaker 1: passing the draft on Vince Young and Reggie Bush's and
- 52:47Speaker 1: got David car instead. Now, even though they say, you know,
- 52:50Speaker 1: I mean sor I ain't got Maria Williams and said,
- 52:52Speaker 1: even though they say Mario Williams had the better career
- 52:55Speaker 1: of the three Texans fans, we wanted Vince Young, Vince
- 52:59Speaker 1: Young one Rookie of the year. Yeah, and we wanted
- 53:01Speaker 1: it if we couldn't give each Young. Reggie Bush for
- 53:03Speaker 1: the ship show, Jeff Jeff Fisher ruined Vince young Man
- 53:06Speaker 1: yeah oh yeah. And after that they didn't give him
- 53:08Speaker 1: a chance after that, after they black bottom. But even
- 53:10Speaker 1: then when they traded DeAndre Hawkins, man, we like, first
- 53:13Speaker 1: of no, even before that, when they let Andre Johnson
- 53:16Speaker 1: you know, future Hall of Famer go to the Indianapolis Colts.
- 53:20Speaker 1: The fans are like, what are you doing? This is
- 53:22Speaker 1: the only bright spot we have as the Texans ever
- 53:26Speaker 1: ever here, and he's potential Hall of Famer. Y'all gonna
- 53:28Speaker 1: let him go to a rival, the Arizona Texans. We
- 53:31Speaker 1: got jj Wabbe, we got then y'all got DeAndre Hawkins.
- 53:35Speaker 1: Were like, what are y'all doing? We got Deshaun Watson
- 53:37Speaker 1: and DeAndre Hopkins and y'all gonna trade away down there,
- 53:40Speaker 1: Davis Mills and who's catching over there? There's still the
- 53:45Speaker 1: one dude, what's the collar? Yeah, the guy who's always
- 53:48Speaker 1: fucking injured in Fantasy well fuller. Yeah. Then the Rockets,
- 53:52Speaker 1: you know, you got green Christian Woods. Rockets were looking
- 53:56Speaker 1: good man, although we lose, they're young. Yeah, we can
- 54:00Speaker 1: get that cohesive this going. We're gonna be all right, man,
- 54:02Speaker 1: because Celtics are killing it. They're killing it right now,
- 54:06Speaker 1: from the eleven seed to the one seed. Yeah, man,
- 54:08Speaker 1: Celtics is on fire. I went to recently, I went
- 54:10Speaker 1: to KG, got his jersey up in the rafters. He
- 54:13Speaker 1: did not give a fuck. He was letting all the
- 54:15Speaker 1: curse works. Yo. The funniest shit is he comes out.
- 54:17Speaker 1: It's a bunch of little kids all around. Right, he
- 54:19Speaker 1: comes out, He's like, boss it I do y'all fuck
- 54:22Speaker 1: with me? I know you fuck will be like this
- 54:24Speaker 1: looking around like little kids. And it was fired though,
- 54:27Speaker 1: man shout out to KG. Definitely a legend. And uh
- 54:31Speaker 1: you know when that when that helped win that that
- 54:33Speaker 1: chip for us in eight So you know, chat to
- 54:35Speaker 1: the Patriots. Oh man, yeah, listen man, Tom left. But
- 54:39Speaker 1: you know we're still in the game, man, are you. Yeah?
- 54:41Speaker 1: We did that last year, We're in the playoff. You
- 54:43Speaker 1: did all right last year, right, but what are you
- 54:44Speaker 1: gonna do this year? You know what? To be honest, man,
- 54:48Speaker 1: because the Dolphins got fucking Tyreek Hill and right, I'm
- 54:51Speaker 1: die hard Patriots fit. I get it. Even even nice
- 54:54Speaker 1: you got, you got a lot of rings to sleep
- 54:55Speaker 1: on that night. Even even if you guys suck for
- 54:57Speaker 1: the next twenty years, who gives a fuck? Even the
- 54:59Speaker 1: years when we was bad, I go to the games
- 55:01Speaker 1: like I'm a die hard. Like even even even the
- 55:03Speaker 1: Celtics when it was like the Antoine Walker and Swan
- 55:06Speaker 1: those those years, bro, we were horrible to tickets to
- 55:09Speaker 1: two dollars. I was still all up in the in
- 55:11Speaker 1: the stands, all of the nosebleed. I'm a die hard,
- 55:14Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. I rock with my teams.
- 55:15Speaker 1: I don't run away. But I am a Tom Brady fan,
- 55:18Speaker 1: so to go. You know, he's coming back one more year, allegedly,
- 55:22Speaker 1: so we'll see. Oh no, not allegedly coming back. So
- 55:24Speaker 1: you know I'm rooting for Tom as well. Patriots. Are
- 55:26Speaker 1: you more of a Brady fan than a Patriots fan
- 55:29Speaker 1: this point? No, I'm more of a Patriot fan. But
- 55:31Speaker 1: the thing is, if we don't make it, I'm going
- 55:32Speaker 1: for Tom. Like my dad got a jersey that's had
- 55:35Speaker 1: so Patriots have Patriots Patriots bucks in the Super Bowl, Patriots,
- 55:40Speaker 1: you're rooting for the Patriots. Yeah, even though even though
- 55:43Speaker 1: Tom brought the rings. Yeah, but it's my hood. You
- 55:45Speaker 1: can't go against your hood. But it's like fifty one
- 55:48Speaker 1: forty nine, you know when I respect that, that's an
- 55:50Speaker 1: honestandswer be Because I'm a Tom Brady fan. You have
- 55:53Speaker 1: to be here, But I'm not going to go against
- 55:55Speaker 1: my squad. Yeah. I saw it like was it Ted
- 55:57Speaker 1: too or the where Ted breaks into Tom Brady his
- 56:00Speaker 1: house to try to steal the sperm. I like that that.
- 56:03Speaker 1: That was the most Boston as ship I've ever seen. Yeah, yeah,
- 56:06Speaker 1: shout out. Is it frustrating to watch TV and like
- 56:09Speaker 1: people try to do the Boston accent? Well, I think
- 56:12Speaker 1: it offends people. Like actually from the city of Boston,
- 56:15Speaker 1: right me being from Lawrence, we don't really have that.
- 56:17Speaker 1: You guys don't have the cap. In fact, the cat
- 56:20Speaker 1: slain he talked like that for sure, Like you know
- 56:23Speaker 1: me static Rex, like the long time, we kind of
- 56:26Speaker 1: really we kind of sound like we're from New York
- 56:28Speaker 1: for some trade. Yeah, I don't know why, but the
- 56:32Speaker 1: Boston they have a real thick accent in like mad Appen,
- 56:35Speaker 1: Dorchester Rocks Beery, you know what I'm saying, the wild,
- 56:38Speaker 1: real being. I feel like a girl could be a
- 56:40Speaker 1: tend And I hear a talk from Boston and I'm like,
- 56:42Speaker 1: get the funk out of here. You sound terrible. That
- 56:45Speaker 1: that that has turned me off from women before, Like sweetheart,
- 56:48Speaker 1: you sound like fucking I don't know, like Ford dressing. Yeah,
- 56:51Speaker 1: something I appreciate your pulling up. The album is out, Yeah,
- 56:55Speaker 1: and you guys have physical copies of the album. Yeah.
- 56:57Speaker 1: We sold out of the vinyl already, man, So you
- 56:59Speaker 1: know the vinyl sold out. We got a couple of
- 57:01Speaker 1: CDs left. Uh. You know. The CD was inspired by
- 57:04Speaker 1: one of Paul's other albums. It was a little bit
- 57:07Speaker 1: of a mind never Matter, was it. So yeah, we
- 57:09Speaker 1: just freaked that cover. It's still a lot of paper.
- 57:11Speaker 1: Shout out to Mike Frost. You guys got bitcoin on here.
- 57:14Speaker 1: You guys got the bitcoin. Yeah, yeah, you know, he
- 57:17Speaker 1: just kind of took a little bit everything paused to it.
- 57:19Speaker 1: There's a big pin and little crypto, A little bit, man,
- 57:22Speaker 1: a little bit. I don't know nothing about it, but hey,
- 57:24Speaker 1: I learned to trust the experts. That's what I'm doing. Okay,
- 57:28Speaker 1: Just don't get that rug pulled up from it under
- 57:30Speaker 1: you like everybody else. Yeah, that rug pull shit is serious. Yeah,
- 57:33Speaker 1: you gotta be aware they're coming after a NBA player.
- 57:37Speaker 1: Dearn Fox from the Kings said, you want to quit? Yeah,
- 57:40Speaker 1: I don't want to do any more focus on basketball
- 57:42Speaker 1: and no ship. Yeah, just said one hundred and eighty
- 57:44Speaker 1: million dollars deal, you're rich already, relaxed. I appreciate you
- 57:48Speaker 1: all pulling up and go support the album working they
- 57:49Speaker 1: buy the actual vinyl and all that. Uh so the
- 57:52Speaker 1: vinal sold album working there by the CD. Yeah, the CD.
- 57:54Speaker 1: You know, the link is in my bio on Instagram
