- 0:12Speaker 1: Welcome to Good to Know Sacramento, Laughs Unlimited Edition. I'm Jenny,
- 0:18Speaker 1: of course, owner of Laughs Unlimited, and we are here
- 0:20Speaker 1: today with Joe Lowers, founder, owner, CEO, World Series of Comedy. Yep,
- 0:29Speaker 1: he is that goofy all the time. How are you doing, Joe?
- 0:32Speaker 2: Good, how are you?
- 0:33Speaker 1: I'm staying in trouble, as always.
- 0:35Speaker 2: Yeah, we're ready to sack.
- 0:39Speaker 1: I was trying to think of what fun stories I
- 0:41Speaker 1: have about Joe, but most of my fun stories about
- 0:45Speaker 1: you are me making fun of you, I think.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Those are still fun for other people.
- 0:50Speaker 1: I think they're fun for you, too.
- 0:52Speaker 2: Not so much me, but.
- 0:55Speaker 3: Those are some of the best stories in the world, man.
- 0:57Speaker 3: You guys ripped the crap out of me at the
- 1:00Speaker 3: festival the one year. It was so much fun.
- 1:02Speaker 1: I feel like that's why you roast audiences, because you
- 1:05Speaker 1: have to make up for it somehow. You're like, they
- 1:08Speaker 1: get me, I get you.
- 1:09Speaker 2: That's kind of how it is. People get me, the management, agents, bookers,
- 1:16Speaker 2: club owners.
- 1:17Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:18Speaker 2: A lot of comedians get me once they get to
- 1:20Speaker 2: know me, then they start ripping.
- 1:21Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, you know that your club is the first
- 1:26Speaker 1: club that I did, like, I don't know, public speaking
- 1:30Speaker 1: or whatever.
- 1:31Speaker 3: Well, I remember we had a seminar and somebody, one
- 1:36Speaker 3: of the agents manager, we do seminars at the main
- 1:39Speaker 3: event and one of them didn't show up and you
- 1:42Speaker 3: come in the room to watch. And I said, Jen,
- 1:44Speaker 3: I need you on stage.
- 1:45Speaker 2: And you're like, no. And I go, the comics, there's
- 1:48Speaker 2: a hundred comics here. They want to hear what you
- 1:50Speaker 2: have to say. They want it. And she's like, I said,
- 1:53Speaker 2: Jason will be up there with you and a couple
- 1:54Speaker 2: other people. You'll be fine. And so we go up
- 1:57Speaker 2: on stage and you just, you opened up so nice.
- 2:03Speaker 2: It's like a flower on stage.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:06Speaker 2: Because somebody picked on me and you're like, oh, I
- 2:09Speaker 2: can do that. I may not be able to talk
- 2:12Speaker 2: about comedy, but I can pick on Joe. And it
- 2:14Speaker 2: was an hour, hour roast on me and me.
- 2:18Speaker 3: Comedians loved it and i think they got something out
- 2:21Speaker 3: of it too but i.
- 2:22Speaker 1: Don't know i love how you act like you asked
- 2:24Speaker 1: me so nicely and that i had a choice i'm
- 2:27Speaker 1: pretty sure that i was blackmailed at the time um
- 2:31Speaker 1: because of an incident at laughs unlimited and you were
- 2:35Speaker 1: like you remember that time that my employee got injured
- 2:38Speaker 1: at your club you owe me and i was like
- 2:41Speaker 1: i said this is what you want to To play
- 2:44Speaker 1: that on? This is what you want me for? He goes, yep.
- 2:46Speaker 1: And I was like, all right, let's go.
- 2:48Speaker 2: Yeah, I'll give you what the video, the name, what
- 2:50Speaker 2: Dan has a video called, but the speaker fell. Maybe
- 2:53Speaker 2: you didn't want to talk about it, but the speaker fell.
- 2:55Speaker 1: No, it's fine.
- 2:56Speaker 2: It's so good.
- 2:57Speaker 1: He edited some amazing videos out of that. Like, my
- 3:00Speaker 1: favorite is the Iron Man one.
- 3:02Speaker 2: Yeah, most work I've ever seen him do.
- 3:06Speaker 1: It was awesome. Well, I appreciate that it was fun.
- 3:09Speaker 2: I stayed up all night and made videos. I can't
- 3:11Speaker 2: get you to do this work for me, but you
- 3:13Speaker 2: do this.
- 3:14Speaker 1: Well, maybe it's because he was concussed.
- 3:17Speaker 2: Yeah, he had no idea what he was doing.
- 3:21Speaker 1: Yeah, but I was so unbelievably nervous. I still talk
- 3:25Speaker 1: about the fact that I had a.
- 3:29Speaker 1: Back then, I talked about the importance of having business cards.
- 3:32Speaker 1: And I remember a comic got up and handed me
- 3:34Speaker 1: their business card. And the whole time that I was talking,
- 3:38Speaker 1: I don't even know what I said in that seminar.
- 3:40Speaker 1: But I had that comics business card in my hand
- 3:43Speaker 1: and I just kept thinking, don't rip the business card.
- 3:45Speaker 1: Don't rip the business card. Like just out of just
- 3:53Speaker 1: out of nervousness. I was so like, just like, and
- 3:57Speaker 1: then I don't know if you know what I did
- 3:59Speaker 1: because I was I was fidgeting with it. So that's
- 4:02Speaker 1: like in my mind the whole time. And what I
- 4:05Speaker 1: did was I tore it like front to back. Like
- 4:08Speaker 1: I separated it this way. I felt really.
- 4:13Speaker 2: That's a pretty good skill. I, well.
- 4:16Speaker 1: I couldn't do it again. I've never tried it again.
- 4:18Speaker 1: It was, but that was how much nervous energy there
- 4:22Speaker 1: was in doing that. So I still don't love to
- 4:27Speaker 1: public speak, but I've done definitely some more since then.
- 4:31Speaker 1: And I get up there every time and just like.
- 4:33Speaker 2: Oh, Yeah, it's great. I mean, the comics want to
- 4:36Speaker 2: hear what you have to say. You have a lot
- 4:38Speaker 2: of knowledge. You know what you're doing.
- 4:41Speaker 1: Well, I don't know if you've ever heard of imposter syndrome,
- 4:44Speaker 1: but I will forever think that nobody wants to hear
- 4:47Speaker 1: what I have to say.
- 4:50Speaker 3: I like to hear comics talk, and they're like, Jen,
- 4:54Speaker 3: she's hard to hear. I'm afraid to talk to her.
- 4:58Speaker 3: They're always afraid, and I go, yeah, she's rough.
- 5:01Speaker 1: And see, and here's the thing. No, no, no. It's
- 5:05Speaker 1: not just you. Everyone perpetuates that. Every single person.
- 5:10Speaker 2: I don't think that, but I mean, I don't think
- 5:13Speaker 2: that at all, but I mean, I just love to
- 5:14Speaker 2: say it.
- 5:15Speaker 1: Yeah. Even like JC at my own club, the bartender,
- 5:20Speaker 1: you know, he'll yeah. Yeah. Don't talk to her. She,
- 5:23Speaker 1: she doesn't like to talk. I'm way nicer than everybody
- 5:26Speaker 1: has made people think I am, but. I mean, I
- 5:33Speaker 1: don't dispel the rumors either. I still allow them to happen.
- 5:36Speaker 1: I just laugh. Because here's the thing. When a comic's
- 5:40Speaker 1: ready to talk to me, then it's their time. Yeah.
- 5:46Speaker 3: After the speaker fell on Dan's head, you probably don't
- 5:52Speaker 3: even remember this, but I come over to you then,
- 5:54Speaker 3: and you're like.
- 5:56Speaker 2: I need a hug.
- 5:58Speaker 1: Ha ha ha!
- 6:01Speaker 2: And I was like.
- 6:06Speaker 1: It's probably, it was probably true. I mean, that was
- 6:08Speaker 1: probably the most traumatic thing that I've had to happen.
- 6:10Speaker 2: Like it was insane.
- 6:12Speaker 1: It was, it was so insane.
- 6:14Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:15Speaker 3: I'll try to have Dan send a video. Maybe Carlos
- 6:17Speaker 3: can throw it in here while we're talking about it.
- 6:20Speaker 2: Right.
- 6:21Speaker 1: Where the speaker falls on. I, like I said, I
- 6:24Speaker 1: love the, I love the Ironman one. It's the best one.
- 6:27Speaker 2: Yeah. I think a lot of those got pulled off.
- 6:30Speaker 1: Oh, did they?
- 6:31Speaker 2: Yeah, they took a ton of them down.
- 6:33Speaker 1: Oh, probably copyright and whatever. At the time, it was whatever.
- 6:38Speaker 1: But Wild Wild West back then, you could put what
- 6:41Speaker 1: you want. What do you mean? What do you mean
- 6:43Speaker 1: I can't use that music?
- 6:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:46Speaker 3: When we stream the shows, like at your club this week,
- 6:50Speaker 3: we're afraid to even have royalty-free music because they pulled
- 6:55Speaker 3: that off.
- 6:56Speaker 1: Oh, really? Yeah.
- 6:57Speaker 2: That's so crazy.
- 7:00Speaker 1: That's the business that we work in. And that's not
- 7:03Speaker 1: even the craziest things, right? That's just the business crazy.
- 7:07Speaker 1: Then there's the crazy, crazy.
- 7:09Speaker 2: Oh, there's lots of crazy, crazy.
- 7:11Speaker 1: Isn't it amazing?
- 7:12Speaker 2: Yep. This is our 17th year with the World Series.
- 7:16Speaker 1: That's crazy. That's a lot. And how long have I
- 7:20Speaker 1: been working with you guys? Because I know it took
- 7:22Speaker 1: you years to get in.
- 7:24Speaker 2: Yeah, it did.
- 7:26Speaker 1: Because I'm not easy to work with.
- 7:28Speaker 2: Yeah. Uh, I think it was right after you got
- 7:32Speaker 2: the club, right?
- 7:34Speaker 1: Well, I've had the club for 16 years now.
- 7:36Speaker 2: Oh no. Yes. I know it was, you've had it
- 7:38Speaker 2: for a while.
- 7:39Speaker 1: Yeah. I think you were doing it for a few
- 7:41Speaker 1: years before I, before I finally gave in.
- 7:45Speaker 2: Yeah. I could look back and see that. Actually, that's
- 7:47Speaker 2: an interesting thing.
- 7:48Speaker 3: I will look back to see, but I, cause I
- 7:50Speaker 3: keep thinking it's like seven, but it's, I bet you
- 7:52Speaker 3: it's like 10.
- 7:54Speaker 1: Right.
- 7:54Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:55Speaker 2: Yeah. I bet you I'm wrong. I bet you we've
- 7:56Speaker 2: been coming to the club for 10 years.
- 7:59Speaker 1: I'm trying to think of when I, when I hurt
- 8:01Speaker 1: my ankle. Cause remember you, uh, you, you brought your
- 8:04Speaker 1: mom's scooter for me.
- 8:06Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah.
- 8:08Speaker 1: Scooting around the hotel that we're scooting around Vegas.
- 8:11Speaker 3: And your mom, she just had to lay on a
- 8:14Speaker 3: couch the whole week while you went around.
- 8:15Speaker 1: Hey, sacrifices need to be made.
- 8:21Speaker 2: It's so funny because she wasn't using it anymore at
- 8:24Speaker 2: that point.
- 8:25Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 8:25Speaker 2: And you're coming to town for the main event. And
- 8:29Speaker 2: I'm like, well, I have a scooter you can use.
- 8:31Speaker 2: He's like, why do you have a scooter in your car? Like,
- 8:35Speaker 2: I'll bring it down.
- 8:37Speaker 1: I really should learn just to not ask questions because,
- 8:39Speaker 1: of course, you have a scooter. Why wouldn't you?
- 8:42Speaker 2: Yeah, I'll get.
- 8:44Speaker 1: You a scooter. Yeah, Joe's like the plug for the
- 8:46Speaker 1: randomest things, you know. Oh, you need something weird? I
- 8:49Speaker 1: have that.
- 8:50Speaker 2: Yeah, I've had a lot of weird crap.
- 8:53Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. So you said you've expanded now to 12
- 8:57Speaker 1: satellites plus the main event in Vegas. Yep. That's very impressive.
- 9:02Speaker 1: And what time period do you do this? Is it
- 9:06Speaker 1: March through September?
- 9:08Speaker 3: Well, we started last week in Vegas. So our first
- 9:11Speaker 3: satellite was at the end of.
- 9:14Speaker 2: September. I mean, man, I'm way off. End of February.
- 9:17Speaker 1: Yes.
- 9:18Speaker 2: And then we go February to July. Uh-huh.
- 9:24Speaker 3: And then I take the second half of July, all
- 9:26Speaker 3: of August to get ready for the main event in September.
- 9:30Speaker 1: Nice. Nice. That's a, that's a long run. That's a,
- 9:33Speaker 1: and I mean, is it, is it 12 different States?
- 9:36Speaker 1: Is it. Yep. Yeah. That's awesome. Very cool. Yeah.
- 9:41Speaker 2: We travel 12 different, uh, comedy clubs around the country.
- 9:44Speaker 3: It's all on the website. I probably should have them
- 9:47Speaker 3: to list, but I don't remember, but it's okay. This
- 9:50Speaker 3: is our second one. And, uh, The fourth one is
- 9:54Speaker 3: already closed. That's what I'm working on right now. Like
- 9:57Speaker 3: I try to tell the guys who work with the
- 9:59Speaker 3: festival and work with me and stuff like that.
- 10:01Speaker 2: I'm like, they're like, they'll start talking about this satellite.
- 10:04Speaker 2: And I go, I'm already on. Right.
- 10:08Speaker 1: Yeah. I know people ask me who's at the club
- 10:11Speaker 1: this weekend. I'm like, I don't know. Like I'm working
- 10:16Speaker 1: on promotions, you know, six weeks out.
- 10:19Speaker 2: Yep.
- 10:19Speaker 1: I don't have anything to do for this weekend until
- 10:22Speaker 1: the comic shows up. So I'm not, I'm not thinking
- 10:24Speaker 1: about that until they get here.
- 10:26Speaker 2: Yeah. That's funny.
- 10:27Speaker 1: Yeah. I didn't even realize that it was world series
- 10:30Speaker 1: until like last week. And I was like, Oh, Oh,
- 10:33Speaker 1: world series is next week.
- 10:36Speaker 3: I'm excited to come back the last couple of years.
- 10:38Speaker 3: We've done it at a different month and I was
- 10:40Speaker 3: on the East coast. So this time it worked out.
- 10:44Speaker 2: You wanted to do this week, which was great.
- 10:46Speaker 3: Cause now I can, I just stayed in Vegas a
- 10:49Speaker 3: couple extra days and I'm flying up today.
- 10:51Speaker 1: Oh, so I just have to work it out so
- 10:53Speaker 1: that you're back on the East Coast if I don't
- 10:56Speaker 1: want you to come back next year.
- 10:57Speaker 2: Correct.
- 10:58Speaker 1: Now I know. Perfect. Perfect. So let's look at those dates.
- 11:03Speaker 2: When I'm on the West Coast and you're like, she
- 11:08Speaker 2: keeps booking different weeks.
- 11:12Speaker 1: It's just a crapshoot. Will Joe be there or not?
- 11:16Speaker 1: I just figured you were tired of being roasted. You know,
- 11:19Speaker 1: I give you the red light. I put pictures up
- 11:21Speaker 1: behind you. I mean, I got to find something new
- 11:23Speaker 1: to do all the time.
- 11:24Speaker 2: Yeah. You have fun though with it, right?
- 11:27Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. I enjoy roasting you.
- 11:29Speaker 2: You are having a good time. Yeah. Who cares about
- 11:33Speaker 2: my feelings?
- 11:35Speaker 1: No, nobody cares about your feelings. You're a comic. Do
- 11:38Speaker 1: you have feelings? Who knew? I think the comics enjoy
- 11:43Speaker 1: it too.
- 11:44Speaker 3: Yeah, well, the comics, because I abuse the crap out
- 11:47Speaker 3: of everybody and constantly being a smartass. And when they see,
- 11:50Speaker 3: I even tell the guys who work for me, I go,
- 11:52Speaker 3: if you want to get on Jenny's good side, say
- 11:55Speaker 3: something smart about me in front of her and she'll
- 11:58Speaker 3: love it. She don't care about how you do on stage.
- 12:06Speaker 2: Well, yeah.
- 12:07Speaker 1: I mean, I do care how you do on stage,
- 12:10Speaker 1: but to talk to me more when you're off stage, yeah.
- 12:16Speaker 1: Some sarcasm about Joe, always a good time.
- 12:19Speaker 2: Works. Always works.
- 12:21Speaker 1: Yes. So we have some trivia here. Are you prepared?
- 12:26Speaker 1: It's going to be a hodgepodge of things. We're going
- 12:28Speaker 1: to find out what you know. You never know what
- 12:34Speaker 1: you know.
- 12:35Speaker 2: Yeah, I'll be shocked.
- 12:37Speaker 1: We're going to have a scoreboard and everything. So, and
- 12:40Speaker 1: it's not me against you.
- 12:41Speaker 2: It's just, are you answering too? Or do you know?
- 12:45Speaker 1: No, I know that. I know the answers.
- 12:47Speaker 2: Oh, just missed or. Okay.
- 12:49Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. All right. All right. Are you ready?
- 12:53Speaker 2: Well, first off, do I get any, I need some,
- 12:55Speaker 2: do I get any guesses before I say lock in
- 12:58Speaker 2: my answer?
- 12:59Speaker 1: Yeah, sure. You can, you can talk it out.
- 13:01Speaker 2: All right.
- 13:02Speaker 1: Are you going to try to read me like poker
- 13:05Speaker 1: to see if I give you the right answer, if
- 13:08Speaker 1: I have a tell?
- 13:09Speaker 2: Yeah. Are these multiple choices too? No.
- 13:13Speaker 1: No. Just one answer.
- 13:14Speaker 3: You know why most people are comics, right?
- 13:18Speaker 2: Why? Because they didn't do well in school.
- 13:23Speaker 1: Oh, I was going to say because they don't like work,
- 13:25Speaker 1: but then they find out how much work being a
- 13:27Speaker 1: comic is.
- 13:28Speaker 2: It's just crazy the work.
- 13:30Speaker 1: Cool.
- 13:31Speaker 3: There's a lot of comics that could be huge if
- 13:33Speaker 3: they would just put a small smidgen of work in.
- 13:36Speaker 2: Yes.
- 13:37Speaker 1: I'm still not getting booked. It's hard to find somebody
- 13:41Speaker 1: that has the talent and the work ethic. All right.
- 13:47Speaker 1: How many Oscars has Martin Scorsese won? 100%, I guess. Six.
- 13:53Speaker 2: Six. 100% incorrect. Cool.
- 14:04Speaker 1: Only one.
- 14:05Speaker 2: Yeah, I would have no idea that one. I couldn't even,
- 14:09Speaker 2: if he walked in here, I wouldn't even know what
- 14:11Speaker 2: he looked like.
- 14:12Speaker 1: I wouldn't know it either.
- 14:14Speaker 2: And I would be wondering why he's in my hotel room.
- 14:17Speaker 1: Well.
- 14:17Speaker 2: Who are you and why are you?
- 14:19Speaker 1: He's like, look at my Oscar. You'd be like, is
- 14:23Speaker 1: that what you call him? Yeah. Weird.
- 14:26Speaker 2: Yeah. Dick joke. Bye, Jenny, everybody. Dick joke.
- 14:30Speaker 1: Thank you. Thank you very much.
- 14:33Speaker 2: All right. All right.
- 14:34Speaker 1: Name one. One. You only have to name one out
- 14:36Speaker 1: of three lines of defense in the immune system.
- 14:43Speaker 2: Lines of defense and immune immune system in the.
- 14:47Speaker 1: Immune system in your body. Name one of three.
- 14:50Speaker 2: I man, I feel like you're this is going to
- 14:55Speaker 2: make me look dumb. I have no idea. I had
- 14:58Speaker 2: to think about it more.
- 14:59Speaker 3: Like if you, if this podcast went on for two
- 15:01Speaker 3: or three hours, maybe I'll take my phone on immune system.
- 15:05Speaker 1: What, what helps you fight infection?
- 15:11Speaker 2: What helps you fight? I'm, I don't know.
- 15:14Speaker 1: Oh, okay. Okay. I only know this because I'm so
- 15:19Speaker 1: familiar with infections.
- 15:21Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:21Speaker 1: You get hospitalized a few times and you.
- 15:23Speaker 2: Your blood probably helps you.
- 15:26Speaker 1: Okay. Yeah.
- 15:26Speaker 2: Yep.
- 15:27Speaker 1: We'll give you that one. It's white blood cells.
- 15:32Speaker 2: Your blood would probably help you. Your lungs would probably
- 15:36Speaker 2: help you.
- 15:38Speaker 1: They help you live, for sure. I don't think they
- 15:40Speaker 1: fight your immune system. Probably your liver. I know you're
- 15:48Speaker 1: just picking body parts. The antibodies. Antibodies. And your skin. Oh, okay. Yeah,
- 15:57Speaker 1: that's kind of important.
- 15:59Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:59Speaker 1: Okay. Next one's a geography one.
- 16:01Speaker 2: I might get this one. I'm pretty good with it. Okay.
- 16:04Speaker 1: Where is Machu Picchu located?
- 16:06Speaker 2: Jesus. What the fuck? Who writes these questions?
- 16:12Speaker 1: Who makes these?
- 16:13Speaker 2: That's not even a place, is it? Did you all
- 16:19Speaker 2: get together? Joe might get some of these, so let's
- 16:23Speaker 2: just try to come up with some shit that there's
- 16:26Speaker 2: no chance in hell that Joe can get. I got one,
- 16:31Speaker 2: I guess, pure luck in you being nice to me.
- 16:35Speaker 2: You just came nice.
- 16:36Speaker 1: To me and gave me the blood.
- 16:37Speaker 2: They all hope that I'll give you the blood. It's
- 16:41Speaker 2: not in the right answer, but you give it to me.
- 16:44Speaker 2: Where the hell is this country? What is it?
- 16:46Speaker 1: Is it a country? Is it a river? A lake?
- 16:51Speaker 1: It's a mountain. Isn't it a mountain? Yeah.
- 16:56Speaker 2: Not some of the other ones. This is the one
- 17:00Speaker 2: mountain range that some guy in some little town named.
- 17:04Speaker 2: I'm going to say Columbia.
- 17:10Speaker 1: It's in Peru. All right.
- 17:13Speaker 2: That was close.
- 17:15Speaker 1: All right all right how about cartoons cartoons.
- 17:17Speaker 2: I don't know cartoons either but go ahead.
- 17:19Speaker 1: Geez okay joe joe what do you know.
- 17:22Speaker 2: Questions about the world series.
- 17:24Speaker 1: Oh well that would be any fun and i probably
- 17:28Speaker 1: don't know the answer to that either we probably have
- 17:31Speaker 1: to call jason all right who plays the piano in
- 17:36Speaker 1: the muppets.
- 17:46Speaker 2: This is going to be a great video. Just watching.
- 17:50Speaker 1: It's going to be me watching me laugh until I cry.
- 17:55Speaker 2: Animal plays the drums.
- 17:57Speaker 1: Oh, see, you got that. That's close.
- 18:02Speaker 2: Animal plays the drums. I don't know who plays the beaker.
- 18:07Speaker 2: None of the old guys up in.
- 18:09Speaker 1: The I feel like we're the old guys right now. Yeah,
- 18:14Speaker 1: I don't know. Oh, man.
- 18:19Speaker 2: I just have a feeling when I'm up on stage
- 18:22Speaker 2: at the end of the shows this week, you're going
- 18:26Speaker 2: to be posting these answers.
- 18:30Speaker 1: I'm just going to post a clip. Here's another one
- 18:32Speaker 1: Joe didn't know. Okay. It's the dog, Ralph.
- 18:39Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, that's it.
- 18:41Speaker 1: Yeah, you knew that the whole time.
- 18:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:45Speaker 1: Okay.
- 18:46Speaker 2: I got up. I got out of bed for this.
- 18:48Speaker 2: You said 11. You said, let's do this podcast at 11.
- 18:51Speaker 2: So I'm like, well, you know what? I got to
- 18:54Speaker 2: check out. I'll take a shower. I'll try to look presentable.
- 18:58Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 18:59Speaker 2: And then I'm like, look, it says on the screen,
- 19:01Speaker 2: missed three.
- 19:03Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 19:03Speaker 2: Is that Carlos doing that? Marking them in?
- 19:05Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah.
- 19:06Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. Carlos is an ass.
- 19:09Speaker 1: Hey, just wait till I tell you who made the
- 19:12Speaker 1: questions up. Also Carlos. Okay.
- 19:17Speaker 3: All right.
- 19:18Speaker 1: Are you ready?
- 19:21Speaker 2: No.
- 19:22Speaker 1: What temperature does water freeze at?
- 19:25Speaker 2: 32 degrees.
- 19:28Speaker 1: Yes. What? Without hesitation, you guys. He got one and
- 19:33Speaker 1: it's legit.
- 19:37Speaker 2: The other ones were not legit.
- 19:41Speaker 1: Okay. What is Edward Norton's character's name in Fight Club?
- 19:48Speaker 2: No idea.
- 19:49Speaker 1: Yeah, I didn't know this one either.
- 19:51Speaker 2: I watch shows all the time.
- 19:52Speaker 3: My wife and I will be watching a show and
- 19:54Speaker 3: she'll be like, say she'll say the character's name.
- 19:59Speaker 2: We're talking about it. And I go, who's that? She's like,
- 20:02Speaker 2: that's the main character. That's their name.
- 20:04Speaker 1: And I'm like, Well, this one's kind of a trick
- 20:07Speaker 1: question because he didn't have a name. He was just narrator. Yep.
- 20:11Speaker 2: I knew that. That's why I said.
- 20:14Speaker 1: Right. Right. Have you ever seen my club?
- 20:18Speaker 2: Are you coming to any of the shows to hang
- 20:19Speaker 2: out so maybe I can smack you around a little bit? No,
- 20:22Speaker 2: I was on the road.
- 20:22Speaker 4: I haven't because you were here when I was gone.
- 20:26Speaker 4: And then and I'll be in I'll be at laughs
- 20:29Speaker 4: when you guys right when you guys leave like a
- 20:31Speaker 4: week after.
- 20:32Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 20:32Speaker 2: Yeah. I wonder if I'll be in the city though.
- 20:39Speaker 2: That'd be good.
- 20:40Speaker 4: Oh, by the way, by the way, hold on. Uh, uh,
- 20:44Speaker 4: 2017 is the first time you did the world series.
- 20:47Speaker 2: Wow. Yeah.
- 20:49Speaker 1: Hey, see, look at there.
- 20:51Speaker 2: Almost 10 years.
- 20:52Speaker 1: We got Google. We got Google over here helping out. Um,
- 20:57Speaker 1: what is Edward Norton's? Oh no, you already said that one.
- 21:00Speaker 1: You got this one. Okay, Joe, I've got faith in you.
- 21:02Speaker 1: You got this. What is the capital of California?
- 21:10Speaker 2: Sacramento.
- 21:11Speaker 1: Yeah. I was like, if you get this wrong.
- 21:13Speaker 3: You know what's funny is you have to learn all
- 21:16Speaker 3: the capitals when you're a kid.
- 21:20Speaker 2: And I never did great in school. But my dad
- 21:23Speaker 2: taught me all the capitals.
- 21:25Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 21:25Speaker 2: I go in and I get 100% on this. I
- 21:29Speaker 2: scored and I did the best. And I was done.
- 21:31Speaker 1: And then they thought you cheated.
- 21:33Speaker 2: No, I was done really fast. And the teacher's like,
- 21:35Speaker 2: did you cheat?
- 21:36Speaker 1: Right.
- 21:37Speaker 2: And I said, no. And she goes, well, how do
- 21:39Speaker 2: you know all these? And I said, my dad taught me, uh,
- 21:42Speaker 2: like Tallahassee, Florida is to towel your ass in Florida.
- 21:50Speaker 2: Kansas is to peak a Kansas.
- 21:53Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 21:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 21:54Speaker 3: So he had one for every one of them. I
- 21:56Speaker 3: can't remember what the California one was, but I, uh,
- 22:00Speaker 3: I knew them all and I did them really fast.
- 22:02Speaker 1: That's hilarious. My mom used to do the same thing.
- 22:05Speaker 1: She taught us all the capitals. We would be driving
- 22:09Speaker 1: cross country because we moved military kid and we were
- 22:13Speaker 1: driving cross country to the new station and she taught
- 22:17Speaker 1: us the capitals and then she would quiz us on them. Yeah.
- 22:21Speaker 1: Over and over and over again. Yeah. All right. You're
- 22:26Speaker 1: definitely not going to get this one. We could definitely
- 22:28Speaker 1: skip this one.
- 22:30Speaker 2: No, bring it on.
- 22:31Speaker 1: What was the name of Outkast's first album?
- 22:35Speaker 2: Outkast's first album.
- 22:39Speaker 1: Do you know who Outkast is?
- 22:41Speaker 2: I do know who Outkast is.
- 22:42Speaker 1: Okay, just making sure.
- 22:45Speaker 2: But I have no idea. Probably maybe self-titled Outkast.
- 22:49Speaker 1: No, but that's not a bad try. It's Southern Playalistic
- 22:55Speaker 1: Cadillac Music.
- 22:57Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, that's it.
- 22:58Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, you for sure would have got that one.
- 23:00Speaker 2: Yeah, that was my second guess, but I didn't know
- 23:03Speaker 2: if I had two guesses.
- 23:04Speaker 1: Right, right, right, right. Of course, of course. All right,
- 23:07Speaker 1: all right. How about sports?
- 23:08Speaker 3: Sports?
- 23:10Speaker 2: Sometimes.
- 23:12Speaker 1: I mean. How many championships does Michael Jordan have?
- 23:18Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, let's pick the one sport that I don't
- 23:21Speaker 3: watch at all. Let's not talk about hockey or football.
- 23:27Speaker 3: I mean, there's a good chance I'd mess up the
- 23:29Speaker 3: hockey or the football question, too.
- 23:31Speaker 2: But there's a really good chance I might actually know
- 23:34Speaker 2: something about that. But let's go with basketball. Let's go
- 23:36Speaker 2: with that one.
- 23:37Speaker 1: Yes.
- 23:38Speaker 2: Let's say he has three. Three times two. Those are
- 23:43Speaker 2: my two numbers.
- 23:45Speaker 1: Oh, oh, do you want, what's your second guess?
- 23:46Speaker 2: Six.
- 23:47Speaker 1: Oh, that's it. That's it. Yeah.
- 23:50Speaker 2: Oh, I got it.
- 23:51Speaker 1: Yeah, on the second try. We'll give it to you, though,
- 23:56Speaker 1: because you need the points.
- 23:58Speaker 2: All right.
- 24:00Speaker 1: This is fun.
- 24:02Speaker 2: What is riding on this?
- 24:03Speaker 1: Nothing.
- 24:04Speaker 2: Is our gig next year with the World Series riding
- 24:08Speaker 2: on these questions?
- 24:09Speaker 1: This is it. you have to get five or more
- 24:14Speaker 1: right so you got you down.
- 24:15Speaker 2: To the last one that's what you should tell comics
- 24:18Speaker 2: when you get them on here your next booking.
- 24:20Speaker 1: Depends on your answers here okay um this is final
- 24:25Speaker 1: jeopardy now kind of situation do you want to wager
- 24:28Speaker 1: any of your.
- 24:29Speaker 2: Points hell no i.
- 24:33Speaker 1: Mean no Okay. All right. We're back to movies.
- 24:38Speaker 2: Wait, I can move. I can wager all my points.
- 24:41Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 24:41Speaker 2: And then I get eight or nothing.
- 24:44Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 24:45Speaker 2: And the categories movies, something I know next to nothing about.
- 24:50Speaker 1: Perfect.
- 24:51Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. That's wager.
- 24:54Speaker 1: All four.
- 24:55Speaker 2: I'm in Vegas.
- 24:56Speaker 1: You're so funny. All right. And back to the future.
- 25:00Speaker 2: Oh, I know.
- 25:01Speaker 1: What year did Marty McFly go to?
- 25:07Speaker 2: I think it's like 2021, but maybe 2020.
- 25:11Speaker 1: You know, he went back. Oh, back. Back.
- 25:15Speaker 2: I thought it was the one where he went forward.
- 25:17Speaker 1: No, back. The original one. It's probably close to your
- 25:22Speaker 1: birth year.
- 25:23Speaker 3: That's what I'm thinking. 65 or 64, but I think
- 25:26Speaker 3: it's 64.
- 25:27Speaker 1: No, it's a decade before that. It was 1955. Wow,
- 25:30Speaker 1: that hurt. I said close. I didn't say it was
- 25:39Speaker 1: your birthday.
- 25:39Speaker 2: Well, close is even close. The fact that you think
- 25:42Speaker 2: it was possibly in the 50s. Man, you know what's
- 25:48Speaker 2: so great about this whole thing is this is all
- 25:51Speaker 2: being filmed while I'm in Vegas and I got to
- 25:53Speaker 2: get on a plane now, later today, and fly... to
- 25:57Speaker 2: Sacramento to face you face to face.
- 26:00Speaker 1: That's right.
- 26:01Speaker 2: Shit the bed on this.
- 26:03Speaker 1: Forget clipping this up. We're just not, we're not even
- 26:06Speaker 1: going to let you go up at the end of
- 26:07Speaker 1: the show. We're just going to show this part. Yeah.
- 26:10Speaker 1: Just be like, here you guys.
- 26:11Speaker 2: And then maybe you can put the winner's names up
- 26:14Speaker 2: before I say I'm.
- 26:14Speaker 1: Like, yes, yes, yes. I'm going to try to, I
- 26:19Speaker 1: like to, I like to take the wind out of
- 26:21Speaker 1: your sails as often as possible.
- 26:23Speaker 2: Got upset and walked out of the room. I hadn't
- 26:27Speaker 2: even said the names yet.
- 26:28Speaker 1: And you put him.
- 26:29Speaker 2: On the screen and he got mad. I'm like, why
- 26:33Speaker 2: is he storming out?
- 26:34Speaker 1: He was a poor sport. Clearly. It was my fault.
- 26:38Speaker 2: Why is the guy storming out? Jen already told him
- 26:42Speaker 2: he lost.
- 26:43Speaker 1: Yeah, because I was already tired of Joe's set. So
- 26:46Speaker 1: I was like, I know how to end it.
- 26:48Speaker 2: I'll get everybody to leave.
- 26:49Speaker 1: All right.
- 26:51Speaker 2: So I guess if you want to come see this
- 26:53Speaker 2: stupid dumbass at the club.
- 26:56Speaker 1: Well, I mean, technically they only have to see you
- 26:59Speaker 1: for the last, you know, 10 minutes, but we've got
- 27:01Speaker 1: some other comics. That'll be great. 40 of them, right?
- 27:05Speaker 2: Yep. 40 of them coming in all around.
- 27:07Speaker 1: Yeah. Starting tomorrow night, March 4th, we'll be there all
- 27:11Speaker 1: the way through the weekend.
- 27:13Speaker 2: And then I fly home on the 8th and my
- 27:17Speaker 2: wedding anniversary.
- 27:18Speaker 1: Oh, nice. How long?
- 27:20Speaker 2: I think 34 years. I don't even know that. If
- 27:22Speaker 2: that was a trivia question, I probably would have got
- 27:25Speaker 2: it wrong too.
- 27:26Speaker 1: I'm going to tell her, too. I'm going to let
- 27:28Speaker 1: her know. She don't care. She's like, the only reason
- 27:34Speaker 1: it's been this long is because he leaves.
- 27:36Speaker 2: Yep, 100%.
- 27:40Speaker 1: It's nice when he comes back, but I can't wait
- 27:41Speaker 1: for him to leave.
- 27:43Speaker 2: She's like, don't you have somewhere to go? Right?
- 27:45Speaker 1: What do you mean it's July and August and you
- 27:47Speaker 1: don't have any satellites? I'll be home all July. Well,
- 27:54Speaker 1: I appreciate you doing this for us. Yeah, I don't.
- 27:57Speaker 2: I'm not happy.
- 27:58Speaker 1: I can't wait to see you so we can laugh
- 28:01Speaker 1: some more. By we laugh some more, I mean I
- 28:05Speaker 1: laugh some more.
- 28:06Speaker 2: Yeah, I hate trivia.
- 28:08Speaker 1: Yeah, your staff will laugh some more, too. They'll love that.
- 28:10Speaker 2: Yeah, everyone's going to love it.
- 28:13Speaker 1: Well, I'll make sure that I send the link out
- 28:15Speaker 1: so they can all go take a look at it.
- 28:17Speaker 2: Yeah, and... I'll share it as stupid as I am.
- 28:23Speaker 1: I think you, you're definitely attention is all attention is
- 28:26Speaker 1: good attention, even negative attention kind of person.
- 28:28Speaker 2: So I don't care.
- 28:31Speaker 1: Oh, so funny. Well, thank you again. Thanks for taking
- 28:33Speaker 1: the time. No problem. I'll see you tomorrow.
- 28:36Speaker 2: Hopefully my dumb ass can get on a plane and
- 28:38Speaker 2: make it there.
- 28:38Speaker 1: Yeah. Let's hope. All right. Bye-bye. We are. We are.
