- 0:02Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: Welcome to Brain Talk.
- 0:03Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: I'm Dr Christopher Kevin Slaton, your host of the Brain's Body Podcast and author of the new book Brain Talk.
- 0:12Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: Learn the Brain's Body with Dr Slaton, live Now.
- 0:15Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: Brain Talk is my contribution to human system, science and the practice of thinking.
- 0:20Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: Have you ever wondered what it feels like to think about thinking through your own inner voice?
- 0:26Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: I'm not just talking, I am sharing Brain Talk.
- 0:31Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: In my new book I peel back layers of sense and received past research through stories from my childhood to pivotal points in my social and academic journey, to learning how to inform my brain, discipline my body and focus my senses.
- 0:48Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: I share the powers of self-awareness, ways to embrace the whispers of intuition and how to live through the art of self-talk.
- 0:58Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: By looking back at my own self-learning, this organized emotion, thought and reflection grows as problems balancing brain, body and sense events.
- 1:09Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: And I'm talking about, as I was growing up, moving from home to school, to neighborhood.
- 1:13Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: And you know, as athletes we're always moving our body and our sense systems, but we rarely realize the brain in the process cycle.
- 1:24Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: So I'm saying to you I was very athletic but I didn't use my brain externally.
- 1:31Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: I did a lot of self-talk and that's what I'm talking about in Brain Talk the transition from poor grades in college to AIDS and then in the community as an activist, straight up performances that identify the intellectual growth and development of my sense of feel for self and the brain and the leading body.
- 1:53Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: Writing Brain Talk has helped me realize the strength that comes from self-talk.
- 1:58Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: That grounds your environmental contact and interaction with shapes, sense and receive past experiences.
- 2:05Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: Grounds how you live in a home, how you learn in school.
- 2:08Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: Take a neighborhood, because those are practice sites.
- 2:12Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: So when you talk about the voices of self-talk, you ground yourself through the experience.
- 2:19Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: So you may think you're hearing voices.
- 2:21Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: I'm saying no, you stop and start grounding the experience of self.
- 2:27Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: That's the environment in homeschool, neighborhood, interaction with people in those environments.
- 2:34Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: To ground the experience of how you think through feelings of emotion, thought and reflection, the way you sense and receive contact and move through a sense of feel for self and the brain to focus feelings of emotion.
- 2:49Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: That is Brain Talk.
- 2:51Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: Brain Talk focuses on ways to sense and feel the flow of emotion as energy, thought as action, reflection as forward and backward feed.
- 3:01Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: Now I'm talking about human system science and so what we're going to do is we're going to tell you.
- 3:06Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: This allows you to inform your brain through environmental interaction, discipline your body through neural interplay and focus your senses through synthesis of the neurophysics of self, learning your brain's body you don't have to go and become a neuroscientist the brains of social organ.
- 3:27Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: I just grounded the experience of our dialogue in homeschool, neighborhood and workplace networks, and so the experience of human system science, the study of brain, body and sense events, along with human systems research, self research, research of other people in those environments, grounds your practice of thinking things through.
- 3:52Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: It grounds you when you have the voices that are moving through you, this organized emotion, thought and reflection that you are able to seek so that you can begin to understand what happened, was happening and what continues to happen.
- 4:08Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: Listen the words, sense, receive contact, sense of feel for self, the brain focus, feelings of emotion, brain talk, simple yet complex practice of learning how you think through the things you feel.
- 4:24Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: Each word is special because their roots connect the comprehensive knowledge of being human to breath of life experiences, beginning in the home, the school, neighbor.
- 4:36Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: So I'm showing you again you ground yourself in brain talk, you ground yourself in symbolic places that everybody interacts through.
- 4:46Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: So when you use the knowledge and the language systems, everybody can understand what you're saying.
- 4:53Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: You're grounding yourself so you can move through the experience of that negative energy, action and feelings so that you begin to make progress in self-help, self-discovery and self-research to improve your performance in those places.
- 5:08Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: So each word is special and so when we move through the word that talk to the brain to help you improve your quality of thinking through feelings of care for yourself as neuro, physical, being.
- 5:24Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: So you are neuro and your physical, and so that's the complication, because, you see, you don't have to be in neuroscience, just understand what I'm saying.
- 5:32Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: You are physical, your neuro meaning that the brain is the chemical, behavioral aspects of the neural systems, and when I say self, I'm combining the two.
- 5:42Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: I'm seeing your physical and yet neuro.
- 5:45Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: And so because of that, that's what you got to make sense of, because your sense path is environmental, you receive path is neuro, and you got to understand that when you're responding to something, you expect the emotion, because emotion lives inside of you and outside of you and you have to process it forward and backward through the synthesis of reflection.
- 6:09Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: That's like if you can't do it, you don't understand the consequences of your behavior, you don't understand the consequences of what you're doing, which means there is a problem in your mental health process cycles.
- 6:24Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: Okay, and that's what we're talking about brain talk, thinking about thinking is learning how to move through self.
- 6:32Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: Talk to brain, talk as the body, mind, brain, body, connection between environmental and neurologic procession of contact and interaction.
- 6:41Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: So I'm saying it again I said in many of my podcasts people get it twisted the body, mind is the environmental stimuli and what I'm saying is the environment influences behavior, which manifests the state of mind.
- 6:56Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: And then the state of mind is played back in the reflective state of the body because the body's physical.
- 7:02Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: And so I'm saying to change that.
- 7:05Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: You talk to the brain, not the body.
- 7:08Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: Okay, that is why you learn your body to study your brain, because when you talk to your brain, your brain talks back to respond to your sense of feel for self care.
- 7:20Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: So here's that word I use because you have to care for self.
- 7:25Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: If you don't care for self, then you're living through your body, mind, because you're blocking the awareness of how you feel for self, because you don't want to handle that, because what happened was happening, what continues to happen.
- 7:39Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: And so I move you through that by showing you how to understand sense and receive path, research, how you sense contact from the environment and how you interact with the neural you through a sense of feel for self.
- 7:57Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: That is refocusing the flow of energy, action and feelings from the environmental perspective and the neural perspective into a commingling interplay of awareness, because you've informed your sense of feel for self and the brain on the front.
- 8:16Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: So now you're processing in the receive and your sense path is now opening and changing.
- 8:22Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: The mood state okay, or the attitude that everyone's saying well, sear, he has this bad attitude and they just, I don't care what I say, it's because that's a defense mechanism.
- 8:34Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: So I'm trying to talk to you, using brain talk and humanism science, to explain why you accept that negative energy and how to process that negative energy through the practice of thinking things, through understanding that there's negative thought and there's negative emotion and there's negative reflection that you're moving through and that that forward, back repeat has new energy, action and feelings, emotion, thought, reflection in it.
- 9:02Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: Now, through your sense of self care, you now are empowered to change the way you feel things and that's thinking it through and that's that is the refocusing of the feedback loop supported by your sense of feel for self in the brain, allowing the brain to take the lead of the body.
- 9:23Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: The body's not acting out, the body's in compliance and that's what we're talking about.
- 9:29Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: So thinking about thinking is learning how to move through self talk to brain talk as the body, mind, brain, body connection between environmental and neurologic processing of contact and interaction.
- 9:45Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: This is how you change your sense of mind, through learning why the mind speaks for the body, using attitudes and physical behavior.
- 9:54Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: That is why you learn your body to study the brain, because when you talk to your brain, your brain talks back.
- 10:02Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: I just said that you learn to care through your sense of feel for self and the brain and lead the body.
- 10:08Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: I just said that that is why you want to learn your body, mind as an environmental connection to how you feel negatively, because if people dislike you, they're on the outside looking at you and your state of mind and that's they're trying to cause negative things to happen inside of you, because your state of mind they're reviewing on the outside and you're confirming by you say, when I if you refer to the mind, not the brain, where you're saying, see my body, this is the experience that you're receiving You're reflecting on what you see you go back to the front of the book I'm talking about.
- 10:48Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: Martin Martin said no, don't judge me by what you see.
- 10:51Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: Judge me by the content that grows through me, my dialogue, my ability to perform.
- 10:59Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: Okay, cause you can't see what's going on the inside, that's the neuro physics of self.
- 11:04Dr. Christopher K. Slaton: And so I'm saying to you here we go.
