- 8:09[SPEAKER_07]: And if it had, it had.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_07]: We've dealt with that.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_07]: We've been down that road.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_07]: It's kind of like the COVID thing, you know?
- 8:18[SPEAKER_07]: What, shit, whatever.

- 8:55[SPEAKER_07]: These games have been really exciting.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_07]: highlighted by the bears game on Saturday night bears down twenty one to three at the half and came back to win it thirty one twenty eight eight against green bay you know you got to think and you don't have to be a real religious person but i don't think hopefully you might have had something to do with that growing up in chicago land
- 9:26[SPEAKER_07]: being a bear's fan yeah I don't you think so I don't know if you can do anything about the white socks that's that might be a bridge too far but I think he pushed up the bears over maybe you can get them all away I don't know I'd that'd be great that'd be great that would be a real boost for organized religion too if a pope could jump get somebody through the Super Bowl as team through yeah and then next year you could work on the chat so that
- 9:51[SPEAKER_07]: 755-1240 is it well there's limits to prayer the power of prayer there's no doubt about that um... okay what are we going on today well on news junkie the north countries window on the world um... well you know now they're talking about chairman poll of the federal reserve uh... uh... just let the guy retire and they leave it at that
- 10:20[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, that building he's putting up his way to expensive.
- 10:23[SPEAKER_07]: No doubt about it.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_07]: No doubt about it.
- 10:28[SPEAKER_07]: Somebody checks didn't go bills.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_07]: I already acknowledged the bills.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_07]: So, there you go.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_07]: Bills had a good weekend.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_07]: So the LA, so did, uh, you know, other, well, obviously the 49ers had a great weekend beating a, you rather up and down Philadelphia Eagles.
- 10:55[SPEAKER_07]: So there was some great football.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_07]: Hope you enjoyed it.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_07]: Now everything's a little more focused.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_07]: They're down to the final 18.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_07]: Well, not until tonight, of course you get that one game, but after tonight they'll be down to the final 18s.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_07]: we will see what happens.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_07]: I don't know.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_07]: I don't have any predictions or anything.
- 11:17[SPEAKER_07]: But just hope it continues to be exciting games, right?
- 11:22[SPEAKER_07]: 755-1240, the phone number, if you'd like to.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_07]: Now, Barbie is at Mattel.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_07]: I make Barbie launching their first autistic doll.
- 11:34[SPEAKER_07]: As sensory sensitive features.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_07]: I don't know.
- 11:45[SPEAKER_07]: 755, 1240, the phone number.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_07]: If you'd like to be on the show of shows today, nothing else really happening here that I can think of.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_07]: Is that it, no?
- 12:04[SPEAKER_07]: Well, we'll have to take a look.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_07]: Let's see what the markets do today.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_07]: We'd like to take a look at the, you know,
- 12:14[SPEAKER_07]: You know, we could talk about the Minneapolis thing and, you know, everybody's in their silo on that and all of that.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_07]: So I don't know.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_07]: I'm not sure what's accomplished by all of that, but two things can be right at the same time.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_07]: Now, the victim could be wrong or right or wrong for engaging in dangerous activity in the guy may have been too quick on the trigger.
- 12:42[SPEAKER_07]: Good afternoon around the air.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_07]: A mayor on the golf course.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_07]: Yes.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_06]: What's the downside of leasing the golf course?
- 12:52[SPEAKER_06]: The well wants to do that.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_07]: Well, here's the issue there.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_07]: There's a couple of issues.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_07]: One is who do you lease it to?
- 13:00[SPEAKER_07]: Secondly, I am, and again, I'm not a lawyer, but the subject of whether you need home rural legislation has come up before on Parkland and May and this particular circumstance.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_07]: or a resolution passed in all of any which is not easy to get uh... were very something in all all right same problems even more so you've got to get the permission of the state legislator see that was the danger in designating all of it is parkland shouldn't have done that but that was the previous city manager and he wanted it as parkland and so it is and once you do that well we didn't but
- 13:43[SPEAKER_07]: No, no, I mean, it's an expense, it's like having softball fields, it's an expense of doing business.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_07]: Reck department has about a $4 million budget, a couple of hundred thousand, that's about five percent of that on the golf course.
- 13:58[SPEAKER_07]: I'd like to run another year, would it see what happens to be, but we're going to hire a guy to run a year, have to have somebody else to run.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_07]: Got it?
- 14:05[SPEAKER_07]: You can't just go into a meeting tonight and say, hey, what's everybody think?
- 14:10[SPEAKER_07]: That's not going to work.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_07]: You had to have discussed it ahead of time and come up with a agenda.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_07]: If the agenda is a holistic approach to Thomson Park, like the mayor proposed, then go with it.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_07]: But if it's just sort of sitting there saying, well, what do you think we should do with the zoo?
- 14:25[SPEAKER_07]: And, you know, well, can we see the books?
- 14:27[SPEAKER_07]: No.
- 14:28[SPEAKER_07]: And, you know, it's just like, come on, man.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, this is an issue with me, but nobody seems to, you know.
- 14:36[SPEAKER_07]: Well, I don't know.
- 14:37[SPEAKER_06]: I don't want to do, I guess.
- 14:38[SPEAKER_06]: I don't really care about it.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_06]: It's not what it was when I
- 14:41[SPEAKER_07]: They better check the health of those old animals up there.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_07]: They don't seem to be lasting on the bar.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_06]: We don't.
- 14:46[SPEAKER_06]: That is outrageous, you know, if you heard a session, this is the won't nonsense.
- 14:52[SPEAKER_06]: We got to get away from, you know, Bobby Kennedy said the problem with the autism is probably caused by these shots, these vaccine shots that knew in newborn babies, you know, give me a break.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_06]: I don't think he's wrong.
- 15:08[SPEAKER_06]: I never think he knows a lot with the heck he's talking about if we're just trying to make him out to be a nutcase.
- 15:13[SPEAKER_06]: He's a hell of a lot smarter than a lot of people on these vaccines.
- 15:17[SPEAKER_06]: Don't tell me about vaccines at you too, Mayor.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_06]: Major health issues after I got the vaccine shots.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_06]: Every side of the fact there, I think I had to be darn one of them.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_06]: You know?
- 15:30[SPEAKER_06]: But this autism, I don't know.
- 15:38[SPEAKER_06]: this is a walk stop that drives me crazy well yeah it's a it's a you know not a subject I really know a lot about so I won't come at on it but nobody's good there's somebody in Washington that's not afraid to shake up the status quo you know money turned to food that's one of our she did it one missed to come the shake this is a muck good for him shake them up when he turned the food pyramid upside down too
- 16:07[SPEAKER_07]: Well, I don't know as we do.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_07]: I don't know.
- 16:10[SPEAKER_07]: What are we going to do?
- 16:11[SPEAKER_06]: Well, we got to do if we're back in the shop.
- 16:12[SPEAKER_06]: So I think we get to take a model.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_06]: We have to, you know, I don't really know.
- 16:20[SPEAKER_06]: I drop them over there.
- 16:21[SPEAKER_06]: I ran a big problem.
- 16:22[SPEAKER_07]: The problem is when you go in there and do that, it allows the regime to try to go to the people and say, well, look what they're doing to us, you know, we got, and they have a common enemy then.
- 16:32[SPEAKER_07]: And I just, I don't have a problem taking over the Western
- 16:37[SPEAKER_06]: You know, the Monroe Dieter, and everybody doesn't know what I'm talking about, best, probably 1800, President Monroe said, we're going to control the Western Hemisphere.
- 16:48[SPEAKER_06]: We can't let China and Russia in, they're all over the Western Hemisphere.
- 16:52[SPEAKER_06]: That's the problem that Trump sees.
- 16:54[UNKNOWN]: A lot of people don't see it.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_07]: What about Greenland?
- 16:56[UNKNOWN]: Mine rose in one of the boats when they crossed the Delaware back in the revolution.
- 17:01[UNKNOWN]: They wore it and nobody knows that or not, Mayor.
- 17:03[SPEAKER_07]: Really?
- 17:03[SPEAKER_07]: He was on the battlefield.
- 17:10[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, what about, um, Greenland?
- 17:12[SPEAKER_07]: What should we do with that?
- 17:13[SPEAKER_06]: That's a very, uh, pivotal spot for our security, for our missile defense, you know.
- 17:20[SPEAKER_07]: Why?
- 17:21[SPEAKER_07]: I say, I don't think you should go over there and shoot everybody and take it over, but I mean.
- 17:24[SPEAKER_06]: But again, our enemies are in that area.
- 17:30[SPEAKER_08]: Right.
- 17:31[SPEAKER_06]: We got the enemy's here, people.
- 17:32[SPEAKER_06]: Not everybody's a good country.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_06]: Mm-hmm.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_06]: We have dirty, he's here, people.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_06]: We have to keep an eye on.
- 17:40[SPEAKER_08]: Mm-hmm.
- 17:41[UNKNOWN]: Yeah, Trump's not afraid to delay it on the line.
- 17:43[UNKNOWN]: Nobody wants to want some to do that, but we have to protect their own interests.
- 17:49[UNKNOWN]: No.
- 17:50[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah?
- 17:51[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, I know that about it.
- 17:52[SPEAKER_07]: And a guy like that in a way that was in a long time, because there are a corrupt politicians and he's not.
- 17:57[SPEAKER_09]: Mm-hmm.
- 17:58[UNKNOWN]: You know, not the Democrats are on another, you know, it was a fortability one month.
- 18:02[UNKNOWN]: No, you know, where did this mayor?
- 18:03[SPEAKER_07]: What?
- 18:04[SPEAKER_07]: It's going to be a bomb out there.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, yeah, they do that a lot.
- 18:09[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, they certainly One more running his mouth for here's a guy being at a Chinese spy and I'm hiring Teljes committee what the hell is he still doing there?
- 18:19[SPEAKER_06]: Mm-hmm Another California whack-top He ran for president, I think he lasted one week Mm-hmm He had bombed the guy, the mayor of Minnesota A total nut case Yeah I think they want to have a stay for you for this woman in the car car Who shot did you hear that man?
- 18:41[SPEAKER_06]: coming of Christ himself I guess and Adam says he was blocked in traffic.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_06]: No she wasn't.
- 18:49[SPEAKER_06]: He was blocking traffic, Mr.
- 18:50[SPEAKER_06]: Shift.
- 18:51[SPEAKER_06]: Get your eyes checked.
- 18:54[SPEAKER_07]: Shifty, Chef, yeah.
- 18:56[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
- 18:56[SPEAKER_06]: One of the worst guys we have.
- 18:57[SPEAKER_06]: How about he got elected?
- 18:58[SPEAKER_06]: I'll never know.
- 19:00[SPEAKER_07]: California and upset.
- 19:02[UNKNOWN]: Yep.
- 19:02[UNKNOWN]: There's liberal city.
- 19:05[UNKNOWN]: Okay, man, I just wanted on that golf course.
- 19:07[SPEAKER_06]: I think we should go with it for another year.
- 19:13[SPEAKER_07]: Okay.
- 19:15[SPEAKER_07]: Okay, man.
- 19:15[SPEAKER_07]: That's good.
- 19:16[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, you know, they had different proposals, you know, the golf course golf course light, you know, it was just, have it as an open metal or open golf course anybody can go to it or I think if you're going to have it, you've got to have it, if you're going to run it, you've got to run it.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_07]: Now whether they should have it, you can debate and this idea that you're going to, you know, another problem, I meant to bring it up to the gentleman there, but leasing it out.
- 19:41[SPEAKER_07]: One of the reasons we're in this fracus now is because there was a contention on the owner of another club that we were given a sweetheart deal to a private sector leesie for half the course.
- 19:57[SPEAKER_07]: Now, I'll grant you whatever arrangements there were something that developed over time, but you're just going to head towards the same thing.
- 20:05[SPEAKER_07]: You know, nobody's going to pay you 100,000 a year to rent that course.
- 20:10[SPEAKER_07]: And then you got to make sure does that include leasing all the equipment, does that include how do we make sure it's all taking care of and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah,
- 20:38[SPEAKER_07]: And they're going to say, where can we just do what we did last year?
- 20:41[SPEAKER_07]: And all ready, they lost the children's home tournament going to a metal work or whatever on 342 and there's a, that's a business or whatever that's stationed right here in the city.
- 20:56[SPEAKER_07]: So they're going to have trouble getting the tournament this year.
- 20:59[SPEAKER_07]: And what, you know, I don't know, I don't know.
- 21:06[SPEAKER_07]: and then you've got all of the issues that come up when hydro hydro contract expires including the cost of electricity for every city building goes up because you're then you're on the name of tariff schedule for municipalities and on on a private contract there so you get all of that going on and uh... same thing with the zoo i mean in the zoo you're going to have to put a meter in there come
- 21:36[SPEAKER_07]: They're going to bill the zoo for it then.
- 21:40[SPEAKER_07]: Now, the city will end up paying for it, but it's going to cost more.
- 21:43[SPEAKER_07]: They say it's worth it.
- 21:44[SPEAKER_07]: OK, I'll buy that, but you don't have to think about this stuff.
- 21:51[SPEAKER_07]: And you can't just go into a meeting and say, hey, how's everybody doing?
- 21:54[SPEAKER_07]: What do you think we should do?
- 21:55[SPEAKER_07]: Well, then nothing's going to change.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_07]: I mean, like I said, I thought the mayor had a decent proposal last year on
- 22:05[SPEAKER_07]: never went anywhere.
- 22:06[SPEAKER_07]: They got too consumed with ethics complaints and getting rid of all knee.
- 22:13[SPEAKER_07]: You know, all knee is the clock on him was running at the time.
- 22:17[SPEAKER_07]: He's gone.
- 22:18[SPEAKER_07]: Can't use that excuse anymore.
- 22:19[SPEAKER_07]: He's gone.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_07]: And they should immediately dismiss his, that ethics complaint he brought just before he left, they should immediately vote to dismiss it.
- 22:31[SPEAKER_07]: That may not be right.
- 22:33[SPEAKER_07]: but that just gets it out of there unless he's got the money to fight it in court there's nothing got to happen so he doesn't so just vote it off vote it off the island but yeah I don't know what they're going to discuss with the zoo and the yeah and the golf course today but are they going to vote on something you just don't know
- 23:02[SPEAKER_07]: And they don't know right now, so, I don't know.
- 23:06[SPEAKER_07]: 755-1240 or phone number, if you'd like to give us a hauler today, we'll try any year, talk about whatever you want, what was on channel 7 today, all in that work piece, huh?
- 23:18[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, well.
- 23:22[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, we'll see you with time, their website.
- 23:26[SPEAKER_07]: They are the window on the, now they call it the window on the world when I work there.
- 23:30[SPEAKER_07]: I think they get rid of that.
- 23:31[SPEAKER_07]: Now they call themselves the North Country's finest.
- 23:35[SPEAKER_08]: Mm-hmm.
- 23:39[SPEAKER_07]: Oh.
- 23:41[SPEAKER_07]: Here's something.
- 23:42[SPEAKER_07]: Watertown Mayor discusses zoo agreement golf course and future ahead of work session.
- 23:49[SPEAKER_07]: See, the mayor always goes to Jeff Cole since it is table there is digital desk.
- 23:54[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, well, I mean, how everybody, that's fine.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_07]: Well, let's see what they're reporting, maybe there's something profound here.
- 24:04[SPEAKER_07]: Uh, let's see, the mayor outlined key agenda items for tonight's council work session, including updates on the zoos, public benefit agreement, and ongoing discussions about the golf course.
- 24:16[SPEAKER_07]: Okay.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_07]: All sorts seven o'clock.
- 24:21[SPEAKER_07]: uh... the zoonu york will present up dates on the public benefit services agreement with the city which expired several months ago leave it expired agreement defines responsibilities between the city and the zoo for operations again i i just don't think that's something just bring out on tablet what do you think you know you got to have some serious discussions ahead of time uh...
- 24:52[SPEAKER_07]: one notable change I had heard this before involves the uh... zoo having the city taking over the welcoming center building the building requires a new roof and the zoo conservancy as proposed sharing cost by providing materials for the city handles contracting and labor okay
- 25:20[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, as the results are requesting reduced funding from the city.
- 25:28[SPEAKER_07]: They want 75,000.
- 25:30[SPEAKER_07]: And that's because they got to let money from that New York Times story.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
- 25:41[SPEAKER_07]: Well, that's going to run out.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_07]: And then you've got the golf course.
- 25:50[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, well, and they keep saying losses of this and that, nothing's going to succeed if you always talk about everything you do.
- 26:00[SPEAKER_07]: What's our, you could say that about so many things, any kind of function the city does.
- 26:09[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah.
- 26:11[SPEAKER_07]: I mean, we need more detail, more financial details on all of this, but as long as the debate is around, well we're losing 200, that was in a year, and then something that we can't afford that, all of that, so I don't know where you go with that.
- 26:28[SPEAKER_07]: It's not a big part of the overall recreation budget, but they also want to embark on
- 26:41[SPEAKER_07]: and equipment purchases.
- 26:44[SPEAKER_07]: Again, equipment purchases for who?
- 26:48[SPEAKER_07]: The city refuses to operate the restaurant itself and therefore you're buying equipment renovations for a private vendor who's paying six dollars a year in rent.
- 27:01[SPEAKER_07]: Again, I'm not knocking the people involved because I'll be some who says, well, what's wrong with her?
- 27:06[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, nobody's saying that.
- 27:14[SPEAKER_07]: And they got to talk about the ethics complaint.
- 27:20[SPEAKER_07]: Oh my god.
- 27:21[SPEAKER_07]: More foil requests, I mean, if we just fired all of people who spend their days dealing with foil requests, we could probably save a half million a year there, including another half million on legal bills that go with it.
- 27:36[SPEAKER_07]: Good afternoon here on the air.
- 27:39[SPEAKER_02]: the times files looking backward or not, but Saturday's times files was kind of interesting.
- 27:46[SPEAKER_02]: Ten years ago on Saturday, January 10th, 2016, it says, the Water Town City Council, and it's first meeting of the year, outlined a hefty legislative agenda, that they hope to accomplish in their first year and be on.
- 28:01[SPEAKER_02]: At Monday's meeting, they rattled off along
- 28:08[SPEAKER_02]: Others were brought up on the campaign trail.
- 28:11[SPEAKER_02]: There were items that helped us start working on right away and others that are more and more in range.
- 28:16[SPEAKER_02]: Many of the ideas were shared by all five elected officials.
- 28:20[SPEAKER_02]: Reopening the Thompson Park pool, trying to solve the city's heroin epidemic, and getting the city court project in the city hall finished were all mentioned.
- 28:30[SPEAKER_02]: As was creating a plan for the city's lucrative
- 28:38[SPEAKER_02]: No, you please tell me how twenty twenty six is any different than twenty sixteen was Doesn't seem to be maybe they saw the heroin problem.
- 28:46[SPEAKER_07]: I don't know, but um, well, no, now it's all kinds of drugs But you're all one So yeah, it's Things things don't change, you know, ten years ago, weren't you?
- 28:58[SPEAKER_07]: I was not an office.
- 28:59[SPEAKER_07]: That was after I got booted You just got booted.
- 29:02[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, but everything seems to be basically the same except that the pool did
- 29:09[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, and I think most people are supportive of that.
- 29:12[SPEAKER_07]: They've got to make some decisions on pools.
- 29:14[SPEAKER_07]: One is a, whether they're going to decommission forever and demolish the Algeria pool.
- 29:21[UNKNOWN]: Except that the governor is giving all kinds of grant money, which people keep ignoring, that would allow the city to keep that open and pay its lifeguards.
- 29:28[SPEAKER_07]: Because she wants to get kids outdoors.
- 29:30[SPEAKER_07]: Well, that's true, but the only problem is,
- 29:33[SPEAKER_07]: We're, we're, we're pool heavy.
- 29:35[SPEAKER_07]: We don't need three pools for a city of 23 or 4,000.
- 29:38[SPEAKER_02]: And, um, how spread out you are, too, and we're the kids are.
- 29:45[SPEAKER_07]: Well, I suppose, but they can get there.
- 29:48[SPEAKER_02]: And if you have two pools, I've said this before.
- 29:50[SPEAKER_02]: If you have two pools, don't work.
- 29:54[SPEAKER_07]: Well, listen, it's this thing developed.
- 29:57[SPEAKER_07]: I thought, you know, the one in the park, which I originally didn't support replacing, but I think it worked out well.
- 30:02[SPEAKER_07]: So it could host to them.
- 30:04[SPEAKER_07]: But that one worked out well, although they didn't finish it, because you got that old bath house at one end, but that's another story.
- 30:10[SPEAKER_07]: And then, it should have just kept the artillery pool open, and demolish the one over a
- 30:25[SPEAKER_07]: which nobody thinks that way anymore.
- 30:27[SPEAKER_02]: I guess my question is that the issues are almost completely identical.
- 30:32[SPEAKER_02]: Hmm.
- 30:33[SPEAKER_02]: 10 years ago including the core project.
- 30:35[SPEAKER_08]: Oh yeah.
- 30:37[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 30:37[SPEAKER_02]: And the other thing in this in the national news in that same column, looking back where 75 years ago on January 10th, 1951.
- 30:46[SPEAKER_02]: About a thousand aliens living in water town will have registered at the post office by tonight in accordance with the International Security Act of 1950.
- 30:56[SPEAKER_02]: But at least twice that many will remain nominally delinquent.
- 31:02[SPEAKER_07]: Well, there you go.
- 31:03[SPEAKER_02]: Not much has changed in 75 years except I don't think.
- 31:07[SPEAKER_02]: We have a thousand plus aliens in this area, but I can not social.
- 31:13[SPEAKER_07]: I'm not sure.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_07]: We don't really know.
- 31:18[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
- 31:19[SPEAKER_02]: So, nothing changes.
- 31:21[SPEAKER_07]: Well, what do you think about what's going on in Minnesota?
- 31:26[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not sure.
- 31:27[SPEAKER_02]: I am very disturbed by the fact that as you said, the guy couldn't shot up the tires or something he had to shoot at or windshield.
- 31:37[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, and he was holding a camera there, too, at the same time.
- 31:39[SPEAKER_02]: That's kind of kind of grandstanding, I think.
- 31:44[SPEAKER_02]: But on the other hand, I'm not a hundred percent sure she needed to be driving down the middle of the road, telling them that she was a good person either.
- 31:53[SPEAKER_07]: Well, no, there's fault to go around, but...
- 31:55[SPEAKER_07]: There's on both sides, but I really don't think they needed to shoot her in the head.
- 32:00[SPEAKER_09]: No.
- 32:02[UNKNOWN]: That is kind of inexcusable.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_02]: They could have shot up the tires or something.
- 32:06[SPEAKER_07]: Well, what are you going to do though?
- 32:07[SPEAKER_07]: What are you...
- 32:08[SPEAKER_02]: I can understand that she really didn't like the idea that somebody was going to anchor door open and holler out of the car.
- 32:14[SPEAKER_02]: I think most people would paint like in that situation.
- 32:17[SPEAKER_07]: Mm-hmm.
- 32:18[SPEAKER_02]: That's quite normal.
- 32:19[SPEAKER_07]: Well, she shouldn't have been there.
- 32:21[SPEAKER_02]: You know, it was in a different state than Minnesota.
- 32:24[SPEAKER_02]: Someone was stopped and they had, I guess, a faulty upper tail light on their truck or something.
- 32:30[SPEAKER_02]: You know, one of those little lights that just all three are supposed to be on, one was out.
- 32:36[SPEAKER_02]: And they picked this gentleman and it was in a neighborhood, a Mexican neighborhood, actually.
- 32:41[SPEAKER_02]: and they picked this gentleman out and they said they arrested him and they said he tried to run away the guy has one leg and his artificial leg was off.
- 32:55[SPEAKER_02]: He wasn't running anywhere.
- 32:57[SPEAKER_09]: I don't.
- 32:59[SPEAKER_02]: That's what's happening.
- 33:00[SPEAKER_02]: They're just picking people out.
- 33:02[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, I think it is troubling in many respects.
- 33:06[SPEAKER_07]: But I don't know.
- 33:08[SPEAKER_07]: I don't know what to say.
- 33:13[SPEAKER_02]: that nationally 75 years ago, not much has changed, and 10 years ago, locally, not much has changed.
- 33:22[SPEAKER_07]: Gotcha.
- 33:23[SPEAKER_07]: Ah, already, well, thank you, ma'am.
- 33:25[SPEAKER_07]: By now.
- 33:26[SPEAKER_07]: That's an excellent point she makes.
- 33:28[SPEAKER_07]: There's no doubt about it.
- 33:29[SPEAKER_07]: The more things change, the more they stay the same.
- 33:32[SPEAKER_07]: That's why these issues are called hearty perennials.
- 33:35[SPEAKER_07]: They come up every year.
- 33:36[SPEAKER_07]: Yep.
- 33:38[SPEAKER_07]: now we all know that like tulips they come up every year they're perennials okay all right that said we'll be back with more in a moment

- 36:32[SPEAKER_11]: Now they're both Fisher and Western.
- 36:35[SPEAKER_11]: That's right.
- 36:36[SPEAKER_11]: Oitesboro plow shop is now your factory direct Western plow dealer, carrying a full line of Western plows and Sanders and accessories.

- 36:56[SPEAKER_14]: The news and talk authority, don't you eat it, am 24, it's all you need to know.
- 37:06[SPEAKER_07]: All you need to know, we're back back on the hotline here.
- 37:09[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, and the issue with the golf course, again, I don't know the particulars on quote leasing it up, but who's going to do that?
- 37:17[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, if somebody takes it for a dollar, or it'll leave him.
- 37:21[SPEAKER_07]: No, there's another issue here, and again, I'm not an expert on it,
- 37:25[SPEAKER_07]: Currently, it's run by the city, which means the people who are working there are city employees, thus, union employees, I think, to CSEA.
- 37:35[SPEAKER_07]: If you come up with a scenario to try to get an non-union labor in there under a least thing, don't you have to negotiate the impact of that on the bargaining unit?
- 37:47[SPEAKER_07]: I don't know, I'm not a fancy pants lawyer, but
- 37:53[SPEAKER_07]: always seems to me that we were told that over the years.
- 37:56[SPEAKER_07]: If you're going to take something out of a function, out of the bargaining unit, but you would be, you're having to negotiate the impact.
- 38:05[SPEAKER_07]: Is that fair?
- 38:10[SPEAKER_07]: You don't like unions it isn't, but you tell me this union people out there.
- 38:16[SPEAKER_07]: So I don't know what to say about it other
- 38:19[SPEAKER_07]: That's not going to happen and you're probably not going to sell it either, and you're certainly not going to do any of that by April 15 when you want to have it open, because whoever's going to be there, you've got to apply for your license, you've got to get, there's a lot of stuff that needs to be done, and I don't know the whole thing, and they're going into this meeting, maybe they got some ideas.
- 38:47[SPEAKER_07]: But I'd go in with something already, he got a majority as agreed to because otherwise it's going to be emitting on and all of that stuff, a lot of Hammond, a lot of Han.
- 38:58[SPEAKER_07]: So, I'm not sure I know what the answer is either, I mean, just operate it, I guess, just say we're going to operate it.
- 39:09[SPEAKER_07]: They bought it under that condition, yeah.
- 39:15[SPEAKER_07]: Good afternoon around the air.
- 39:18[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, oh, with the golf course up in the city, they should sell that one, two, they should close the zoo up there because they can't keep coming back to taxpayer every year for more money.
- 39:33[SPEAKER_05]: Because the taxpayers can't afford it.
- 39:38[SPEAKER_05]: And also this city mayor in the city council ran on being a
- 39:44[SPEAKER_05]: government that was going to be a combo of the taxpayers they weren't going to waste money and they've already wasted money with a spending $10,000 on door that was needed in the city hall up there.
- 39:57[SPEAKER_05]: And also the second courts at the State of New York wants to stay in New York at fifth to district should be paying for it not the city property owner because we can't not afford it.
- 40:08[SPEAKER_07]: Thank you, anybody.
- 40:09[SPEAKER_07]: All right, thank you.
- 40:10[SPEAKER_07]: All you raise some good points there, especially that door.
- 40:14[SPEAKER_07]: You know, I worked up on that third floor for 20 years.
- 40:19[SPEAKER_07]: There was a door there.
- 40:20[SPEAKER_07]: There was a glass panel next to it.
- 40:25[SPEAKER_07]: I went in and out of it.
- 40:26[SPEAKER_07]: You could lock it if you had to.
- 40:27[SPEAKER_07]: I mean, you could probably change the lock and put some kind of key card on it or something, but I have $10,000 on a door.
- 40:42[SPEAKER_07]: I don't get it.
- 40:44[SPEAKER_07]: And yet there was never talked about, it was just done.
- 40:50[SPEAKER_07]: Make sure wonder how many other things are just done for that kind of money.
- 40:57[SPEAKER_07]: And then the council will say, well, that's not our job, that's, you know, well, they sure job.
- 41:04[SPEAKER_07]: I can't see any necessity for that door, based on the fact that I was there 20 years.
- 41:12[SPEAKER_07]: Joe Senior was there four years, and there's a couple of mirrors after me, Joe Jr. and Smitty, it's another eight years, plus all the years before I was in, eight years for Tom Walker, was always the same door.
- 41:30[SPEAKER_07]: Now, I mean, if you've got a door in your house and it's working, if it's an
- 41:41[SPEAKER_07]: something new with crash bars and all of that for security.
- 41:44[SPEAKER_07]: That's one thing.
- 41:46[SPEAKER_07]: But that wasn't the case here.
- 41:49[SPEAKER_07]: So, but nobody will dare ask.
- 41:54[SPEAKER_07]: Nobody will dare ask.
- 41:55[SPEAKER_07]: And they didn't.
- 41:57[SPEAKER_07]: Even all they just couldn't bring himself to say anything either.
- 42:04[SPEAKER_07]: So, I'd always say to him, you know,
- 42:10[SPEAKER_07]: I get him going sometimes.
- 42:13[SPEAKER_07]: He'd be at meetings same.
- 42:14[SPEAKER_07]: Well, he works a great guy and I see.
- 42:17[SPEAKER_07]: We've wanted the people to try to have him jail.
- 42:21[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, hey, no, I know, but he's a great guy, okay.
- 42:25[SPEAKER_07]: Okay.
- 42:26[SPEAKER_07]: 755, 1240, the phone number, if you'd like to give us a call to be on the show of show is today.
- 42:32[SPEAKER_07]: And we'll see how the second, this is the first work session of the year tonight.
- 42:42[SPEAKER_07]: No.
- 42:43[SPEAKER_07]: And they are going to talk about ethics complaints again, Lord help us.
- 42:50[SPEAKER_07]: But first of all, before anybody walks in the room tonight, there should be definitive legal advice on issues relating to home rule legislation as it relates to leasing or selling, and what that involves, and what the prospects for it are.
- 43:06[SPEAKER_07]: You should have that before you walk in the room.
- 43:12[SPEAKER_07]: There also needs to be, and I don't claim I did everything right, I made mistakes, but listen, a definitive accounting of how everything is spent up in the part.
- 43:24[SPEAKER_07]: What's it cross to keep the lawns mode or this or that or the other things?
- 43:30[SPEAKER_07]: Because I think that's important.
- 43:33[SPEAKER_07]: Because ultimately you're going to have to get to a situation where you've got a recreation device, whether it's a sub-budget or whatever, a park budget.
- 43:41[SPEAKER_07]: There's a city really should be running it.
- 43:44[SPEAKER_07]: And whatever the city wants is attractions it can have.
- 43:49[SPEAKER_07]: But these ideas about what you can just lease it out.
- 43:52[SPEAKER_07]: The other thing is what I just said about collective bargaining units.
- 43:57[SPEAKER_07]: I don't know if that's an issue.
- 43:58[SPEAKER_07]: Maybe they don't care.
- 44:00[SPEAKER_07]: But my experience with municipal unions is that if you've got a municipal function done by union people and you're going to try to take it away from union people.
- 44:11[SPEAKER_07]: you've got to negotiate the impact.
- 44:14[SPEAKER_07]: That was an essence.
- 44:17[SPEAKER_07]: Well, there's firemen or anything else.
- 44:20[SPEAKER_07]: So, you know, they need an answer on that before they go in.
- 44:27[SPEAKER_07]: Um, there's a lot of things.
- 44:33[SPEAKER_07]: And this thing about taking over the visitors building at the zoo,
- 44:40[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, my building needs a new roof, so would you take it over for a year?
- 44:43[SPEAKER_07]: No.
- 44:45[SPEAKER_07]: Good afternoon, Ryanair.
- 44:48[SPEAKER_28]: Hello, this is business listing verification with an urgent message.
- 44:52[SPEAKER_28]: We are calling you because your business is not verified on Google Voice Search.
- 44:55[SPEAKER_28]: Customers can not find your business.
- 44:58[SPEAKER_07]: Sure, they can.
- 44:59[SPEAKER_07]: That's a scam.
- 45:00[SPEAKER_07]: All those things.
- 45:01[SPEAKER_07]: All those things are.
- 45:03[SPEAKER_07]: Keep minutes spam, and that's exactly what it was.
- 45:07[SPEAKER_07]: So, I don't know, why don't we take a break and we'll be right back.
- 45:10[SPEAKER_18]: This is Chris Stigall.

- 45:32[SPEAKER_23]: If with our guaranteed lowest price program, if you buy anywhere else, you will overpay for your next mattress.

- 45:58[SPEAKER_23]: Guaranteed lowest price.
- 46:01[SPEAKER_23]: Waiting for your tax return.
- 46:02[SPEAKER_23]: Don't wait.
- 46:03[SPEAKER_23]: Right now we have no money down, no interest for 12 months and no payments for 90 days for qualified buyers.
- 46:11[SPEAKER_23]: Go to mattress.

- 46:15[SPEAKER_23]: Call 1-800 new beds.
- 46:17[SPEAKER_23]: Don't overpay for your next mattress.

- 48:26[SPEAKER_14]: Am-1240.
- 48:27[SPEAKER_07]: W-A-T-M. Am-1240, W-A-T-M. Good afternoon, you're one and all.
- 48:33[SPEAKER_07]: Um... Yeah, I don't know what we've talked about.
- 48:37[SPEAKER_07]: Certain issues, are you talking about the...
- 48:40[SPEAKER_07]: the zoo in the golf course and i know some people think i've got golf course derangement syndrome because we talked about because it's on the agenda not up to me man i just soon not talk it there is something to be said on this issue of the golf course and the zoo golf course particularly spent three years and one month i believe since they took title to it and we're still arguing about it whether i open it close it what to do with it
- 49:11[SPEAKER_07]: Should we do anything with it?
- 49:14[SPEAKER_07]: Keep getting all these different things that are sad.
- 49:17[SPEAKER_07]: And, of course, unlike my good friend, Mr. Cole, the mayor won't come on here.
- 49:26[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, that's too bad.
- 49:29[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, I'm not going to pick out her.
- 49:31[SPEAKER_07]: No, she wants to come on.
- 49:32[SPEAKER_07]: I'd like to talk about this zoo thing and the park in general.
- 49:37[SPEAKER_07]: I could care less about foil requests.
- 49:41[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, some people are obsessed with them.
- 49:43[SPEAKER_07]: I could care less.
- 49:44[SPEAKER_07]: And I could care less than right now about ethics complaints, although I think they should change the charter or something, make sure that particular type of thing doesn't happen again.
- 49:56[SPEAKER_07]: So, but yeah, it'd be nice to have her on to talk about important issues.
- 50:02[SPEAKER_07]: I mean, you know, I understand Mr.
- 50:06[SPEAKER_07]: Call is well-liked and well-viewed and
- 50:10[SPEAKER_07]: and he's got it going on a trip to Alaska and the people are flocking to get reservations but just think that little neighborhood city talk show where people can call in is a good venue for local officials.
- 50:23[SPEAKER_07]: Good afternoon, you're on the air.
- 50:25[SPEAKER_10]: Good afternoon, Jeff.
- 50:27[SPEAKER_10]: This is a terrible thing.
- 50:28[SPEAKER_10]: I see you're getting a lot of traffic on your website regarding these rallies and stuff, which is good.
- 50:34[SPEAKER_10]: I mean, it's a great website, your blog.
- 50:37[SPEAKER_10]: uh... but you know this gentleman that was involved in this shooting now is i would think that now they have to put him in like a witness protection program jett and uh... probably uh... well they do have to provide some kind of security for them to uh... they're going to dock some they're going to go to his house they're going to harass his family it's it's the world we live in now yeah look at what what happens to him i mean his whole life is changed to
- 51:07[SPEAKER_10]: but it didn't mean you can't take a back and stand an outside yelling and screaming and all the upsides uh... so the news uh... you know tracks you i mean you know what's the point i i i don't know what the point is but uh... it's unfortunate to disrupt the government to disrupt the our president to you know to disrupt every this disrupt everything that we do right we have a new president i mean i just think it's
- 51:34[SPEAKER_07]: And they said, hey, listen, I got a run now, okay?
- 51:37[SPEAKER_07]: Thanks, by now.
- 51:38[SPEAKER_07]: All right, 75, 5, 20, 40, the phone number, the raises a good point there.
- 51:42[SPEAKER_07]: And, I don't know what to say about all that.
- 51:46[SPEAKER_07]: That doxing of people, we don't dox our local officials doing.
- 51:54[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, thanks, all.
- 51:56[SPEAKER_07]: I'd hate to think we do that here.
- 51:59[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
- 52:03[SPEAKER_07]: But we might, I don't know, 755, 1240 of the phone number.
- 52:08[SPEAKER_07]: If you'd like to be on the show of shows today, we will put your on to talk about pretty much whatever you want within the balance of good taste.
- 52:17[SPEAKER_07]: See, it's over an empire report.
- 52:18[SPEAKER_07]: And there's something most of you don't read.
- 52:20[SPEAKER_07]: It's New York State news.
- 52:22[SPEAKER_07]: But it is kind of interesting.
- 52:27[SPEAKER_07]: A lot of stuff.
- 52:31[SPEAKER_07]: Hmm, nothing really new today, nothing really new.
- 52:38[SPEAKER_07]: Oh boy, I'll tell you, Governor Hokel, she's proposing money for home heating assistance.
- 52:44[SPEAKER_07]: Can I have some of that governor?
- 52:46[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, I bills too high.
- 52:48[SPEAKER_07]: I would like to not pay it.
- 52:53[SPEAKER_07]: I guess I have to run on it.
- 52:57[SPEAKER_07]: You kind of have to pay it.
- 53:00[SPEAKER_07]: So anyway, the mayor of Newburg has endorsed the Hockel for reelection.
- 53:07[SPEAKER_07]: Where's our mayor's stand on?
- 53:11[SPEAKER_07]: That's going to be a tough one, because once this Blakeman, you're going to show his face up here.
- 53:18[SPEAKER_07]: Now, I know the rock ribed crew nights are going to all vote for him, but never seen him before and never seen him on the state scene.
- 53:26[SPEAKER_07]: He's lost statewide elections before.
- 53:29[SPEAKER_07]: I don't know what the big love affair was.
- 53:33[SPEAKER_07]: They pushed our release out of the race.
- 53:35[SPEAKER_07]: Now, she wisely stepped aside because it was just going to be messy.
- 53:40[SPEAKER_07]: Because this guy was getting a wink and a nod from the White House.
- 53:43[SPEAKER_07]: And we'll tell you, when you're talking to people, and people in no, not just Russ Finley, all of Russ does know a lot.
- 53:51[SPEAKER_07]: When you're talking to people in the no, geez, they don't see he's going to lose.
- 53:54[SPEAKER_07]: And I think he is.
- 53:56[SPEAKER_07]: OK.
- 53:59[SPEAKER_14]: The world can change in just seconds.

- 57:21[SPEAKER_07]: Somebody text in, Jeff, why don't you get yourself a 20-year-old illegal immigrant?
- 57:26[SPEAKER_07]: I don't care if they were illegal enough to come move in, move in, yeah, you can do a housework.
- 57:33[SPEAKER_07]: Get all kinds of federal assistance for your heat, your taxes, and maybe a new groove.
- 57:39[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, throw it in pedicures, massages, going shopping for me and all sorts of things.
- 57:44[SPEAKER_07]: I'm looking for anything lood or locivious.
- 57:47[SPEAKER_07]: Not at all.
- 57:48[SPEAKER_07]: Not at all.
- 57:49[SPEAKER_07]: We've got a separate building she could reside in, so it wouldn't even have to be that.
- 57:54[SPEAKER_07]: So, yeah, maybe brush the cat once in a while, then be something.
- 58:01[SPEAKER_07]: I don't have any problem with it, I mean, I don't.
- 58:05[SPEAKER_07]: I mean, if somebody's doing things that are useful for society in whatever way and keeping busy, I'm not, and I wouldn't turn them in, if they're out there causing trouble, I would.
- 58:16[SPEAKER_07]: But, you know, I think by and large, most of these people are probably just getting by and you know, making a living, not the wrong with that, not the wrong with it.
- 58:31[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, what else we got for other things?
- 58:38[SPEAKER_07]: Let's see, somebody wrote, just ask planning, it's their city, well it is, you know?
- 58:47[SPEAKER_07]: It certainly is, you know, you really can't do anything here without the consent of the planners.
- 58:54[SPEAKER_07]: They're kind of like an HOA.
- 58:55[SPEAKER_07]: They can tell you what to do, even though you pay the taxes and you bought the property and you pay to maintain it.
- 59:01[SPEAKER_07]: They're like an HOA, they can say, I don't like that color.
- 59:07[SPEAKER_07]: You know, I know of people who live in H.O.A.
- 59:12[SPEAKER_07]: subdivisions and they live in fear of the H.O.A.
- 59:15[SPEAKER_07]: I'm talking about just putting a small shed in their backyard and I don't know if I can do that.
- 59:21[SPEAKER_07]: I don't know.
- 59:22[SPEAKER_07]: I have to kind of get from North Country storage barns, great people out there.
- 59:28[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, but they just, they live in fear of the same thing with planners.
- 59:34[SPEAKER_07]: Good afternoon.
- 59:34[SPEAKER_07]: Got to be quick.
- 59:37[SPEAKER_07]: I can't we're out of time.
- 59:40[SPEAKER_07]: All right, thanks.
- 59:42[SPEAKER_07]: Can't call it 25 seconds before the hour.
- 59:45[SPEAKER_07]: All right, Glenn Curry of the unit, five o'clock.
- 59:47[SPEAKER_07]: This is a, a, I'm 1240.
- 59:50[SPEAKER_07]: We are WATN.
- 59:51[SPEAKER_07]: We're in Watertown, New York, of course.
- 59:52[SPEAKER_07]: And the time is one o'clock and CBS News is coming up next.
- 59:57[SPEAKER_07]: You have a good day and drive carefully.
