- 0:01Speaker 1: You're listening to Bill Handle on demand from KFI AM
- 0:05Speaker 1: six forty.
- 0:10Speaker 2: I've always wanted to give marginal spiritual advice always, and
- 0:18Speaker 2: they just won't let me because you know, the show
- 0:21Speaker 2: gets people who are just really really distressed. I mean
- 0:24Speaker 2: even suicide, that people contemplating suicide, and of course Jesus
- 0:29Speaker 2: in the show is compassionate caring. If it were me,
- 0:33Speaker 2: jump right now, leave us alone.
- 0:36Speaker 3: You're taking up too much time, and.
- 0:39Speaker 1: Now handle on the news. Ladies and gentlemen, here's Bill Handle.
- 0:46Speaker 3: And good morning. It is Aday, Wednesday, June tenth.
- 0:51Speaker 2: Handle and the morning crew that promo just we just
- 0:56Speaker 2: heard about the offering to give marginal spiritual advice filling
- 1:01Speaker 2: in on the Jesus Show.
- 1:02Speaker 3: I've been doing that for years.
- 1:04Speaker 2: Yesterday I was having a conversation with my trainer as
- 1:08Speaker 2: I work out three days a week because I will well,
- 1:12Speaker 2: I wanted to get in decent shape. And he's a
- 1:14Speaker 2: pretty religious guy. I mean he really is, basically I
- 1:19Speaker 2: would say, a fundamental Christian. Great guy doesn't proselytize or anything,
- 1:23Speaker 2: and so we have all kinds of religious conversations and
- 1:28Speaker 2: we were discussing the God of the Old Testament versus
- 1:32Speaker 2: the God of the New Testament and the God of
- 1:34Speaker 2: the Old Testament. Man was about it was not a
- 1:37Speaker 2: nice god. I mean slavery and.
- 1:41Speaker 3: Death for a lot of infractions.
- 1:45Speaker 2: And then God turns into the nicest God in the
- 1:48Speaker 2: world after Jesus has worn turned the other cheek, and
- 1:53Speaker 2: you know you're wonderful and you're going to get everlasting
- 1:57Speaker 2: life if you follow my word. And I said, when
- 2:01Speaker 2: you think about it, that after the New Testament God
- 2:05Speaker 2: found Jesus, didn't he He had a coming home to
- 2:09Speaker 2: coming home to Jesus meeting and turned into another God.
- 2:15Speaker 2: And then you got all kinds of scriptures. Now you
- 2:18Speaker 2: can interpret them anyway. Oh no, you're really like eating
- 2:22Speaker 2: with rattlesnakes and when they bite you, you die.
- 2:24Speaker 3: And that's God's will. God is a vengeful god. No,
- 2:28Speaker 3: only in the Old Testament.
- 2:30Speaker 4: You don't think he's still vengeful a little bit.
- 2:32Speaker 2: Not like not like the Old Testament turning people into
- 2:36Speaker 2: sault How about murdering every human being other than Noah
- 2:41Speaker 2: and his wife. That's a tough one. Okay, we're gonna
- 2:47Speaker 2: have a religious conversation. These are conversations I have in
- 2:50Speaker 2: the meantime, head there, good morning, Good morning. Heather was
- 2:53Speaker 2: in for the next week and a half until Amy
- 2:56Speaker 2: comes back from her vacation. Michelle, Michelle the Cube Meister,
- 3:02Speaker 2: who was a producer of this show for twenty six years.
- 3:04Speaker 3: So Michelle still makes fun of me and still tells
- 3:06Speaker 3: me what to do. Good morning, good morning.
- 3:09Speaker 2: And Michelle is here for the rest of the week
- 3:12Speaker 2: and comes back on Monday. Neil is probably coming back
- 3:15Speaker 2: on Monday. I've been talking to him about his bariatric surgery.
- 3:21Speaker 3: And Will is still here. Good morning, Will, Good morning, Bill.
- 3:24Speaker 2: There you go, And there's Cono, who is always here too.
- 3:29Speaker 3: Will. Was that T shirt? I can't quite see it.
- 3:32Speaker 2: It's from our wiggle Waggle walk thing that we oh yeah, yeah.
- 3:36Speaker 3: How many Koreans were there at the walk?
- 3:39Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, don't go there. I used to
- 3:45Speaker 2: get in a lot of trouble for that. Used to yeah, no,
- 3:48Speaker 2: I used to. Oh, I used to. Not so much
- 3:50Speaker 2: anymore because I don't straight out and make an accusation
- 3:54Speaker 2: because I was just curious, that's all.
- 3:57Speaker 5: Don't get in trouble for anything anymore. You're like you
- 4:00Speaker 5: reached the point where no untouchable Bill.
- 4:02Speaker 2: Ham no, you know what, Heather, we are in even
- 4:06Speaker 2: with that, it's much looser today than it has been
- 4:09Speaker 2: for the last few years. I mean the last few
- 4:11Speaker 2: years it was woke city here. I mean it was
- 4:14Speaker 2: crazy making. But we've now come back. Actually ever since
- 4:19Speaker 2: Trump has attacked wokeness, which I have no problem with
- 4:22Speaker 2: at all, because we went too far, you know, the
- 4:25Speaker 2: pendulum swings and the.
- 4:27Speaker 3: You know, that's to defund the police.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Let's disband the police. No such thing as an illegal immigrant.
- 4:36Speaker 2: People are not illegal. I almost I almost wanted to
- 4:41Speaker 2: carry a sign at one of these demonstrations it says
- 4:44Speaker 2: felons are not illegal, they are human beings. Okay, why not?
- 4:50Speaker 2: All right, enough of that, here we go into political
- 4:53Speaker 2: dietribe once again.
- 4:54Speaker 3: Let's do it though.
- 4:55Speaker 2: It is time for handle on the news and no
- 4:58Speaker 2: Amy today, so it it's Heather and.
- 5:01Speaker 3: Me let Well.
- 5:06Speaker 2: Xavier Javier Bassara has taken the Democratic primary, which that's
- 5:13Speaker 2: the story in of itself because he was down at
- 5:15Speaker 2: the bottom of the heap and was asked to bail
- 5:18Speaker 2: out because there were just too many Democrats And I
- 5:22Speaker 2: don't know how you say we're going to pound sand
- 5:25Speaker 2: here in Spanish, but he wouldn't.
- 5:29Speaker 3: Leave and it worked out for him.
- 5:30Speaker 2: And then Steve Hilton is also he's the Republican and
- 5:35Speaker 2: he was pretty close to Bessara in the numbers.
- 5:39Speaker 3: But but Sarah's going to wipe him out.
- 5:42Speaker 2: Not because we're talking about it as a better candidate
- 5:46Speaker 2: or is bringing more to the table. It's Democrat versus Republican.
- 5:49Speaker 2: We're two to one Democrat in the state. We are
- 5:52Speaker 2: probably the most left wing state in the United States.
- 5:56Speaker 2: Trump endorsed Steve Hilton, and you know, what are you
- 6:02Speaker 2: gonna do with that?
- 6:03Speaker 3: In California?
- 6:04Speaker 2: That's actually a death knoll for a Republican today to
- 6:08Speaker 2: have Trump.
- 6:09Speaker 5: Endorse down say, some of the unhappiness that people are
- 6:12Speaker 5: experiencing in the state might translate over like some people might,
- 6:16Speaker 5: you know, cross.
- 6:17Speaker 3: Over and vote. Not nearly enough, it's not even going
- 6:21Speaker 3: to be close. There may be someone happiness.
- 6:23Speaker 2: But also Trump is more underwater in California than any
- 6:27Speaker 2: other state. I mean, there's a lot of dissatisfaction. I'll
- 6:29Speaker 2: tell you what's going to happening. Hilton's going to do
- 6:31Speaker 2: this is separate himself from Donald Trump. You will see
- 6:35Speaker 2: that where these candidates are moving away from trump Ism
- 6:40Speaker 2: now that we're going into.
- 6:41Speaker 3: The general election.
- 6:42Speaker 2: During the primaries, you have to line up and you
- 6:45Speaker 2: have to kiss the ring with Donald Trump.
- 6:46Speaker 3: You have no choice. He has that kind of.
- 6:48Speaker 2: Power, but he doesn't have any power with the Democrats,
- 6:51Speaker 2: that's for sure.
- 6:51Speaker 5: Yeah, we're already starting to see some of that breaking away,
- 6:55Speaker 5: if you can believe it.
- 6:56Speaker 4: Just days after the primary.
- 6:58Speaker 5: Steve Hilton is saying that the elections in California are
- 7:02Speaker 5: not rigged, which is what Donald Trump has been saying
- 7:05Speaker 5: repeatedly with no proof, for no evidence that it is rigged.
- 7:10Speaker 5: He went Steve Hilton went on CNN and said that
- 7:13Speaker 5: he has seen no evidence that there has been any
- 7:19Speaker 5: issues with the voting in California, that it's been rigged.
- 7:23Speaker 5: But he does say that he thinks that the vote
- 7:25Speaker 5: counting has been slow and there's a lot of things
- 7:27Speaker 5: wrong with the system and the processes, but he does
- 7:30Speaker 5: not believe and does not agree that it is rigged.
- 7:33Speaker 2: Yeah, California has probably the slowest vote counting because of
- 7:38Speaker 2: the rules of the state, and the Republicans, including Donald
- 7:43Speaker 2: Trump and other Republicans that are going to lose, are
- 7:46Speaker 2: arguing the very system itself is open to fraud. And
- 7:51Speaker 2: so there's a big difference between arguing about the system
- 7:54Speaker 2: and saying specifically there is fraud.
- 7:56Speaker 3: There was fraud because there wasn't any.
- 8:00Speaker 2: Now, can you argue that the way California counts its
- 8:04Speaker 2: vote in the length of time you can go ahead
- 8:07Speaker 2: and vote with mail in balloting. Sure, you can say
- 8:10Speaker 2: that California is arguing that the way it's done, as
- 8:13Speaker 2: a matter of fact, it guarantees a fair count.
- 8:18Speaker 4: So because they're double checking signatures, they're taking.
- 8:21Speaker 3: The oh yeah, you know.
- 8:22Speaker 5: No matter how many times you say that though and
- 8:25Speaker 5: explain it in so many different ways, people don't hear that.
- 8:28Speaker 5: They don't hear that side of the explanation for a while.
- 8:32Speaker 3: Although to the point.
- 8:33Speaker 2: Now you have to show ID when registering, which I
- 8:36Speaker 2: did when registering, But last time I went to vote
- 8:40Speaker 2: at the pulling booth, I walk in and you have
- 8:43Speaker 2: to give your name and then what's your name, and
- 8:45Speaker 2: then they check it against an address in your name,
- 8:48Speaker 2: and I said, I'd like to show you my ID
- 8:51Speaker 2: that I'm really William Handle. They go, no, we don't
- 8:53Speaker 2: want to see it. I'd like to show it to you.
- 8:56Speaker 4: They rejected you. They said, we don't want to see it.
- 8:58Speaker 2: Yes, literally said I this is the poolworker. I don't
- 9:03Speaker 2: want to see it. And we almost had a fight
- 9:07Speaker 2: over it, and he refused to look at my driver's license,
- 9:10Speaker 2: straight out.
- 9:11Speaker 4: Refused, and you were shoving, You were like, look at it.
- 9:14Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I almost crammed it down his throat and
- 9:16Speaker 2: look me, look at me, Look at me, look at me.
- 9:19Speaker 5: So there's so there is probably something to see Filton's
- 9:22Speaker 5: point that there are some issues with the election process
- 9:25Speaker 5: and guilty that could be adjusted.
- 9:27Speaker 3: But yeah, I argue that, Yeah, but.
- 9:28Speaker 5: There's been no signs and any evidence that this current
- 9:31Speaker 5: election is rigged.
- 9:32Speaker 2: Yeah, and that's the problem because the Republicans are saying
- 9:35Speaker 2: it is rigged. And the big move, of course, both
- 9:38Speaker 2: federally and statewide with a proposition, is to prove id
- 9:42Speaker 2: when voting. It has become a huge issue. And the
- 9:46Speaker 2: point is there's no problem. It's an answer, it's a
- 9:50Speaker 2: fix for no problem. And at this point there's never
- 9:55Speaker 2: been proof of widespread fraud. Now, some fraud, well, in
- 9:58Speaker 2: the United States, you have one hundred and fifty million
- 10:00Speaker 2: votes during a presidential you might find one or two
- 10:03Speaker 2: where fraud does occur, but that's not gonna fly.
- 10:08Speaker 5: So in Boyle Heights, an LPD officer was shot on
- 10:11Speaker 5: the chest. It's happened during an exchange of gunfire at
- 10:14Speaker 5: the end of a pursuit. They took the suspects into
- 10:19Speaker 5: custody and the officer is expected.
- 10:22Speaker 3: To be okay, which is very good news, very good news.
- 10:26Speaker 5: Yes, a lot of back and forth going on here
- 10:29Speaker 5: Over in Tehran now, authorities there are saying they're reviewing
- 10:33Speaker 5: their negotiations with the US because the US struck Iran
- 10:39Speaker 5: last night, and US said they did that in response
- 10:42Speaker 5: to Iran taking down that army helicopter yesterday. And now
- 10:48Speaker 5: authorities in Tehran are saying they're accusing the US and
- 10:52Speaker 5: Israel of repeated cease fire negotiations. Officials are saying diplomacy
- 10:58Speaker 5: cannot take place in a vacuum, basically, that they don't
- 11:01Speaker 5: trust the US to continue this ceasefire negotiation process, and
- 11:09Speaker 5: so everything is still up in the air right now.
- 11:11Speaker 5: Trump said this morning, just a couple hours ago, that
- 11:14Speaker 5: this is taking too long and that he is going
- 11:17Speaker 5: to have to take some other steps.
- 11:18Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:19Speaker 2: Of course, of course, if you look at the history
- 11:21Speaker 2: of Iranians negotiating with anybody in anything in any country,
- 11:25Speaker 2: they drag it out as long as possible. The deal
- 11:29Speaker 2: with Obama, for example, the Obama administration, which Trump said
- 11:33Speaker 2: it was a worst deal in the world, that took
- 11:35Speaker 2: two years to negotiate. So the President saying this is over.
- 11:40Speaker 2: It'll be over in this weekend. It'll be over in
- 11:42Speaker 2: two days, it'll be over in three days. We'll get
- 11:44Speaker 2: a bomb away Wednesday night. It's two to four week war.
- 11:48Speaker 3: We won.
- 11:49Speaker 2: We wiped out their military, which for the most part
- 11:52Speaker 2: we did other than wiping out their abilities and the
- 11:54Speaker 2: missiles and the drones. And Iran's position is real simple,
- 11:59Speaker 2: lift the sanction, let us have the money that we.
- 12:04Speaker 3: That we have that you frozen, twelve or fifteen billion.
- 12:08Speaker 2: Dollars, and then we'll beginning to talk about our nuclear program. Yeah,
- 12:14Speaker 2: that's not such a good deal, and I don't think
- 12:16Speaker 2: the president can agree to that even if he wanted to.
- 12:19Speaker 3: He painted himself into a corner.
- 12:22Speaker 5: So this is an interesting story, and I have been
- 12:25Speaker 5: curious to get your take on this since I saw
- 12:27Speaker 5: this come down yesterday. Nick Reiner is the son of
- 12:31Speaker 5: Robin Michelle Reiner, who is accused of killing his parents,
- 12:34Speaker 5: really violent murder, and he is now asking for the
- 12:40Speaker 5: court to release the funds from a trust that his
- 12:44Speaker 5: parents established for him, and he wants to use it
- 12:46Speaker 5: to help pay for his legal defense, and.
- 12:51Speaker 2: Can he do that, Well, there's a law in the
- 12:53Speaker 2: books that said that people who commit felonies this was
- 12:57Speaker 2: the son of Sam Law out of New York, in
- 13:00Speaker 2: which what's there's phase is Sam Berkowitz who committed all
- 13:04Speaker 2: those murders, and you had murders write books and get
- 13:09Speaker 2: the money royalties and get advances, and the law was
- 13:13Speaker 2: passed saying no. Here is why I think he's going
- 13:15Speaker 2: to get the money. He is merely accused at this
- 13:18Speaker 2: point of doing it. Of course he did it, but
- 13:20Speaker 2: he's not convicted. And what he is arguing is I
- 13:24Speaker 2: have money for me in that trust account, and I
- 13:27Speaker 2: wanted to use for my defense.
- 13:30Speaker 3: And one of the good reasons.
- 13:32Speaker 2: That I think the judge is going to allow that
- 13:35Speaker 2: money to be released is number one, there's no conviction whatsoever.
- 13:39Speaker 3: It's his money.
- 13:40Speaker 2: And the court likes that you don't hire a public
- 13:44Speaker 2: defender because public defenders cost the state money. And this
- 13:49Speaker 2: is not going to be any small trial either, so
- 13:52Speaker 2: there's be issues of sanity and experts brought in. It's
- 13:55Speaker 2: going to be expensive case. And the judge could say, hey,
- 13:58Speaker 2: you know what, he's got the money at talks about
- 14:00Speaker 2: his conviction after the conviction, so I.
- 14:03Speaker 3: Think it's going to be released. I think.
- 14:05Speaker 2: So.
- 14:05Speaker 5: Do you talk about the California Probate Code called the
- 14:10Speaker 5: slayer statue?
- 14:11Speaker 4: Does that apply in this case?
- 14:13Speaker 2: No, I can't talk about it because I have no
- 14:16Speaker 2: idea what I would be talking about. Usually I'm fine
- 14:19Speaker 2: having no idea what I'm going to be talking about. Yeah,
- 14:23Speaker 2: I just listened to the Saturday show, So okay, how
- 14:26Speaker 2: about this? Yes or no? Okay, I'll go with yes, Okay, Yeah,
- 14:33Speaker 2: I don't know the answer to that one. All right,
- 14:34Speaker 2: just take a break. We'll come back. And normally I
- 14:37Speaker 2: would look it up or have Michelle.
- 14:39Speaker 4: Look at information for you. I can tell you, yeah,
- 14:43Speaker 4: I don't care.
- 14:46Speaker 3: I am going to answer your question.
- 14:47Speaker 2: I head there regarding whether or not Nick Render can
- 14:52Speaker 2: take money out of his trust account to pay for
- 14:55Speaker 2: his defense, and I think the judge is going to
- 14:56Speaker 2: say yes. Now, there are some restrictions. For example, in
- 14:59Speaker 2: cal Fournia, it is stricter where a judge can go
- 15:05Speaker 2: beyond that, but it all is based on adjudication. There
- 15:08Speaker 2: is no adjudication yet. He's only been charged and so
- 15:13Speaker 2: I think the judge is going to release those trust
- 15:16Speaker 2: funds to pay for his defense and limited at that.
- 15:19Speaker 3: That's what I think is going to happen. Okay, okay,
- 15:21Speaker 3: does that help you?
- 15:22Speaker 4: It does?
- 15:23Speaker 5: Thank you?
- 15:23Speaker 3: Okay, thank you.
- 15:24Speaker 2: Also, just a bit of news that I want to
- 15:26Speaker 2: share with you is that the space xipo happens on
- 15:30Speaker 2: Friday and you can buy shares maybe one point seven
- 15:34Speaker 2: seven trillion dollar valuation, which would make Trump if it
- 15:40Speaker 2: goes at full valuation, he would be the world's first trillionaire.
- 15:43Speaker 4: Wow.
- 15:44Speaker 3: Yeah, there you go.
- 15:45Speaker 4: That's going to be huge.
- 15:47Speaker 3: It's going to be huge because it's huge. Yeah, that's
- 15:49Speaker 3: the story.
- 15:51Speaker 2: And we'll see it's opening at one hundred and thirty
- 15:53Speaker 2: five dollars a share, we think, and we'll see what
- 15:56Speaker 2: happens right when it opens up.
- 16:00Speaker 5: Millionaire president in history, right, all right? Oh, he's hung
- 16:04Speaker 5: about Musk Trump. Oh Trump, Now Trump is not going
- 16:08Speaker 5: to be a trillionaire. That'll be Musk.
- 16:09Speaker 4: Oh, Musk will be a trillionaire.
- 16:10Speaker 3: Okay, Yeah, sorry about that.
- 16:12Speaker 4: Yeah, that's okay, all right.
- 16:13Speaker 5: So, so apparently the Sofi Stadium workers who have been
- 16:18Speaker 5: working on their contract negotiations with Unite Here Local eleven
- 16:24Speaker 5: and Sofi Stadium. They've reached a tentative agreement to potentially
- 16:29Speaker 5: avoid a strike and walking off the job for the
- 16:32Speaker 5: World Cup, which the first game starts on Friday here
- 16:36Speaker 5: in Los Angeles. The World Cup it begins tomorrow in
- 16:39Speaker 5: other parts of the country. The contract that they've agreed
- 16:42Speaker 5: upon guarantees most workers forty dollars an hour, more than
- 16:45Speaker 5: forty dollars an hour premium pay for major events like
- 16:49Speaker 5: the World Cup and protections against AI. But the big
- 16:52Speaker 5: one I think is the well the fifis tournament that
- 16:56Speaker 5: requires them to stadium workers to submit highly so into
- 17:00Speaker 5: a personal information including social security and fingerprints, and so
- 17:03Speaker 5: a lot of the workers there were worried about ICE
- 17:07Speaker 5: and Homeland Security coming in to snatch him up while
- 17:11Speaker 5: they're at work.
- 17:11Speaker 3: Yeah, that's a big fear. And forty dollars per hour.
- 17:15Speaker 2: Kno, would you ever imagine in your lifetime making forty
- 17:21Speaker 2: dollars an hour? And the answer, of course is new precisely. Okay,
- 17:27Speaker 2: that's wild.
- 17:28Speaker 5: Yeah, maybe we need to revisit our union here at KFI.
- 17:32Speaker 5: All right, nobody heard me say that. All right, So
- 17:36Speaker 5: gene Evan Atkins, this name might sound familiar because he
- 17:41Speaker 5: is the man who is responsible for that shootout that
- 17:44Speaker 5: happened outside the Trader Joe's and Silver Lake in twenty eighteen. Well,
- 17:48Speaker 5: he's been acquitted a first degree murder, but he was
- 17:51Speaker 5: found guilty on forty counts. Forty other counts, including attempted murder,
- 17:56Speaker 5: assault with a semi automatic on a firearm, on a
- 17:59Speaker 5: peace office her, fleeing a pursuing peace officer, a lot
- 18:04Speaker 5: of other charges that he was convicted of, but he
- 18:07Speaker 5: was not charged with first degree murder and the death
- 18:10Speaker 5: of the assistant manager. There are Trader Joe's twenty seven
- 18:13Speaker 5: year old Melinda Maricella Corrado.
- 18:17Speaker 3: Well, he was charged with first agreement.
- 18:19Speaker 4: He was charged, he was not convicted.
- 18:21Speaker 2: Yet, not because murderer involves the intent to kill, right
- 18:25Speaker 2: and his argument and legitimately he didn't tend to kill anybody.
- 18:28Speaker 2: I mean, he was shooting, but did he intend to kill?
- 18:32Speaker 2: Now implied malice will be there. I mean, you can
- 18:35Speaker 2: be charged with murder. For example, you plow into a
- 18:39Speaker 2: group of people on the sidewalk with your car, but
- 18:43Speaker 2: you didn't intend to kill anybody, but it is so
- 18:47Speaker 2: dangerous and someone is dead, someone dies, implied, malice will
- 18:51Speaker 2: be there, but not for murder.
- 18:53Speaker 5: It was actually the police officer LP Yeah. Yeah, and
- 18:55Speaker 5: then right bullet that killed right.
- 18:57Speaker 2: Well, we have the fellow any murder rule is if
- 19:00Speaker 2: you're committee a felony and someone dies, even if you
- 19:03Speaker 2: haven't pulled the trigger, you are guilty of You can
- 19:07Speaker 2: guitars and convicted of murder, but not first degree murder.
- 19:13Speaker 4: So cal Edison is.
- 19:16Speaker 5: A little bit of trouble, which I think we've all
- 19:18Speaker 5: known for quite some time. New surveillance video shows and
- 19:22Speaker 5: there's some more evidence as well, confirms that a century
- 19:26Speaker 5: old IDOL transmission line that utility failed to remove is
- 19:31Speaker 5: the one that ignited last year and started that deadly
- 19:35Speaker 5: eaten wildfire.
- 19:37Speaker 2: And they and they have video, they have video on video. Yeah,
- 19:42Speaker 2: it didn't help them. They also have a video of
- 19:45Speaker 2: an Edison employee lighting a fire to cook some s'mores
- 19:48Speaker 2: right next to the tower there.
- 19:51Speaker 4: Yeah, that also did not help their case.
- 19:53Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 19:54Speaker 5: Speaking of fires, a lot of people used the watch
- 19:57Speaker 5: Duty app last year during the and continue to use
- 20:01Speaker 5: it to track wildfires in the area. Well, now it
- 20:06Speaker 5: is going to introduce flood alerts to its disaster awareness service.
- 20:11Speaker 5: So not only can you track wildfires in your area,
- 20:14Speaker 5: you can also track for flooding as well.
- 20:18Speaker 3: Okay, so what color are we talking about? Amber is
- 20:20Speaker 3: already taken?
- 20:22Speaker 4: Oh for alerts?
- 20:23Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know.
- 20:24Speaker 4: Does watch you to use the alert? I think this
- 20:26Speaker 4: is a different alert.
- 20:27Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know. Yeah, I'm just.
- 20:29Speaker 4: You're just throwing something out there.
- 20:31Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 20:31Speaker 3: I was just trying to be entertaining and it didn't work.
- 20:36Speaker 4: Sometimes it does well, I think actually they don't have colors.
- 20:38Speaker 4: All right, you could let me know when you see.
- 20:40Speaker 2: I love I love Heather being here because it's it's
- 20:44Speaker 2: fresh meat for me.
- 20:46Speaker 4: Listen, if you could let me know when you're gonna
- 20:48Speaker 4: do your jokes.
- 20:48Speaker 2: No, that's the whole point, because I'll say something like
- 20:51Speaker 2: that and am you'll just go no, shake your head,
- 20:53Speaker 2: you know, come on, handle all right?
- 20:55Speaker 5: Moving on, So, uh, this story is fascinating to me.
- 20:59Speaker 5: In Michigan, a third grader wore a hat to school
- 21:02Speaker 5: for great for the Great Kindness challenge at her school,
- 21:07Speaker 5: and the hat that she featured inn ar style rifle
- 21:11Speaker 5: and the phrase come and take it so the school,
- 21:16Speaker 5: I guess, took the hat away and because they said
- 21:19Speaker 5: the hat's message was disruptive, and it went.
- 21:22Speaker 4: All the way.
- 21:23Speaker 5: This disagreement over the hat went all the way to
- 21:25Speaker 5: Supreme Court, and they declined to review the lower court's
- 21:29Speaker 5: ruling that the school did not violate the student's free
- 21:33Speaker 5: speech rights by prohibiting the hat.
- 21:36Speaker 3: Right, so you can't do it.
- 21:38Speaker 2: The court said, that is not a First Amendment right now,
- 21:42Speaker 2: going back to nineteen sixty nine, when the Supreme Court
- 21:48Speaker 2: said that a high school could not prevent students from
- 21:51Speaker 2: wearing black armbands and supporting the end of the war
- 21:54Speaker 2: in Vietnam.
- 21:54Speaker 3: So the court has reversed itself. Really, I like the
- 21:57Speaker 3: fact this was a third grader.
- 21:58Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 21:59Speaker 2: Well, I immediately got into a very deep discussion about
- 22:03Speaker 2: the Supreme Court decisions as to Second Amendment as third
- 22:07Speaker 2: graders do and First Amendment, yeah, as first graders, as
- 22:10Speaker 2: third graders tend to do.
- 22:12Speaker 5: Good gree if I can't even imagine my daughter in
- 22:15Speaker 5: third grade talking about First Amendment rights.
- 22:17Speaker 3: Second Amendment rights, I know, it's crazy.
- 22:19Speaker 4: Sorry, Second Amendment rights, yeah or no, this.
- 22:21Speaker 2: Was first Amendment, by the way, this was First Amendment
- 22:23Speaker 2: or dealing with we're dealing with guns.
- 22:25Speaker 4: Yeah, that's wild, all right.
- 22:28Speaker 5: So Bill Gates will be testifying before congressional hearing today
- 22:32Speaker 5: that is investigating the Epstein files. Bill Gates has had
- 22:36Speaker 5: a previous relationship with Epstein. It began in twenty eleven,
- 22:41Speaker 5: three years after Epstein pleaded guilty to soliciting prostitution from
- 22:45Speaker 5: a minor, and lasted to least twenty fourteen. So he's
- 22:48Speaker 5: going to be answering questions about their relationship and hopefully,
- 22:53Speaker 5: you know, just the first of many that will be
- 22:56Speaker 5: questioned about their relationship with Epstein.
- 22:58Speaker 3: How many people do you think it are gonna be?
- 22:59Speaker 2: Quite from what I understand, Uh, the only connection is
- 23:05Speaker 2: correspondence between the two about philanthropic projects, some photos of
- 23:12Speaker 2: Gates and Epstein at those events.
- 23:15Speaker 3: No, not even an allegation.
- 23:17Speaker 2: That there was any criminal or untoward activity that Epstein
- 23:22Speaker 2: and Bill Gates engaged in.
- 23:23Speaker 3: But but Bill Gates is Bill Gates.
- 23:27Speaker 2: And if they go to that entire list of people,
- 23:30Speaker 2: including Bill Clinton, uh, including MENI, meny, big players, They're
- 23:36Speaker 2: going to be added a long long time.
- 23:38Speaker 5: Yes, apparently there's a fat squirrel problem in Santa Monica.
- 23:45Speaker 5: The city leaders have put up signs and they're asking
- 23:47Speaker 5: people to stop feeding the squirrels there. It's become a
- 23:51Speaker 5: big environmental issue. A lot of squirrels that become very dominant.
- 23:56Speaker 5: They're eating the snacks and junk food and like you know,
- 24:00Speaker 5: trash all over I guess. And now all the squirrels
- 24:02Speaker 5: are overweight. And Michelle included these cute pictures of these big,
- 24:06Speaker 5: chunky squirrels.
- 24:07Speaker 4: They're so fat.
- 24:09Speaker 2: Yeah, they don't run away, they just sit there and
- 24:14Speaker 2: watch you feed them.
- 24:15Speaker 3: Oh, here is a Michelle story for you.
- 24:18Speaker 5: Yeather, Yes, So I actually I am very excited. And
- 24:22Speaker 5: Michelle and I already talked about this. So a family
- 24:27Speaker 5: is stepping in to save the Prim Casino, Las Vegas
- 24:31Speaker 5: based Terribles, which is owned by the Herbs family is
- 24:35Speaker 5: going to step in and save the Prim Valley Casino
- 24:40Speaker 5: from being closed. So it was one of it would
- 24:43Speaker 5: have been one of three. I guess, Buffalo Bills closed already,
- 24:46Speaker 5: Whiskey Pete's already closed. So they're going to step in
- 24:49Speaker 5: and save the Prim casino.
- 24:51Speaker 2: Yeah, Michelle, who goes to Vegas more than anybody, I know.
- 24:56Speaker 3: Your thoughts. Have you ever been to Yeah?
- 24:58Speaker 6: I used to stop at state Line pretty regularly.
- 25:01Speaker 7: They used to stop at Whisky Pete's on my way
- 25:03Speaker 7: home just to play like a hundred bucks see if
- 25:05Speaker 7: I would win. And the last time I stopped there
- 25:07Speaker 7: about a month before it closed. It was really really sad.
- 25:11Speaker 7: The casinos, they just haven't been great. And the casinos
- 25:15Speaker 7: on the other side, I mean prim you know, is
- 25:17Speaker 7: the one that's open that used to be the Prima Donna,
- 25:19Speaker 7: and that's where that murder happened in nineteen ninety seven
- 25:22Speaker 7: of The Little Girl by Jeremy Strollmeyer. It never really
- 25:26Speaker 7: recovered after that, you know, and they changed the name
- 25:30Speaker 7: and they tried to update it, and it just I've
- 25:32Speaker 7: never it just I think because there's so many casinos
- 25:37Speaker 7: now in California, the Indian casinos in California, people don't
- 25:42Speaker 7: stop at state Line anymore. It used to be people
- 25:44Speaker 7: would stop at state Line on the way to Vegas
- 25:47Speaker 7: and they'd play there for a while, and they would
- 25:50Speaker 7: occasionally have some good acts and stuff that would perform
- 25:53Speaker 7: out there. But it's gone really downhill for a long time.
- 25:56Speaker 7: I don't know if they're going to be able to
- 25:58Speaker 7: revive it. I really don't.
- 26:00Speaker 6: Okay, we'll be interesting to see if it survives, all right.
- 26:05Speaker 5: An Orange County rideshare customer got cell phone footage of
- 26:09Speaker 5: his Uber driver falling asleep behind the wheel of a
- 26:12Speaker 5: Tesla when they were on the four O five earlier
- 26:15Speaker 5: this year.
- 26:16Speaker 6: So, and that's after there was one on the five
- 26:20Speaker 6: the other day.
- 26:21Speaker 3: And they had a defense.
- 26:22Speaker 2: Though, test, I gotta tell you, Uber is absolutely going
- 26:26Speaker 2: to be able to defend, saying that the passenger started
- 26:30Speaker 2: talking and it was so boring.
- 26:34Speaker 4: All right.
- 26:35Speaker 5: Idris Elba said that James Bond shouldn't become woke.
- 26:40Speaker 4: What do you think, Bill, should James Bond be woke?
- 26:43Speaker 3: Absolutely?
- 26:45Speaker 2: Idris said, the way James Bond was written, it was
- 26:47Speaker 2: a white guy and it should stay exactly the way
- 26:50Speaker 2: it was written. I think it should expand. I like
- 26:54Speaker 2: the I like the idea of a quadruple amptite emputy
- 26:57Speaker 2: in a wheelchair becoming James Bond.
- 27:00Speaker 6: I will tell you Idris would have been a great James.
- 27:03Speaker 3: Yeah, he is a phenomenal ass. He has been.
- 27:07Speaker 2: He has been knighted by I think was it the
- 27:10Speaker 2: queen who knighted him or King Charles?
- 27:13Speaker 3: I have no.
- 27:13Speaker 2: Idea, but seriously, good actor and uh, you know, even
- 27:18Speaker 2: he says, you know what, you know, it's not a
- 27:21Speaker 2: black guy. Okay, it's a white guy.
- 27:23Speaker 5: I have to respect that he is taking that stance though,
- 27:26Speaker 5: because so many actors would not do that. They would
- 27:29Speaker 5: just jump at the chance to be like, I'm going
- 27:31Speaker 5: to be a part of this branch.
- 27:32Speaker 2: No, and he turned down a he turned down the
- 27:36Speaker 2: part of the Imperial Wizard of the KKK.
- 27:39Speaker 3: And you have to give him credit for that.
- 27:42Speaker 5: Okay, see, Amy, there was my Amy sigh for you.
- 27:46Speaker 5: Oh see, we're already there.
- 27:48Speaker 2: Coming up, Steve Hilton is number two in the race
- 27:52Speaker 2: for California governorship. And who is still Steve Hilton? Interesting
- 27:57Speaker 2: guy to say the least. I'll come back with that.
- 28:00Speaker 2: This is kf I am six forty.
- 28:03Speaker 3: You've been listening to the Bill Handle Show.
- 28:05Speaker 2: Catch my show Monday through Friday six am to nine am,
- 28:08Speaker 2: and anytime on demand on the iHeartRadio app.
