- 0:32Speaker 2: you named it? That that's why I love Puff because
- 0:34Speaker 2: he's like just running.
- 0:35Speaker 1: Because you know, it's because it's for us, about us.
- 0:37Speaker 1: It's like, you know what I'm saying, Like like like.
- 0:41Speaker 2: Now now Walmart owns Foo by the way, shout out
- 0:43Speaker 2: to I think Walmart.
- 0:46Speaker 1: That's crazy they cast out, but.
- 0:50Speaker 2: You know you go to get Walmart wart. But now
- 0:54Speaker 2: that the EP is dope for you, Like, you've had
- 0:57Speaker 2: a pretty crazy journey through the music industry. If everybody
- 1:00Speaker 2: kind of like a rundown on like because you obviously
- 1:03Speaker 2: an amazing writer, what is kind of like your history
- 1:07Speaker 2: in the music game, You've you've had to come up
- 1:10Speaker 2: that's pretty crazy, from working with Timberland and not working
- 1:12Speaker 2: with Diddy, like, how did you get started?
- 1:16Speaker 1: Long story short, I'm from Memphis, Tennessee to Memphis on
- 1:21Speaker 1: fire right now, Memphis is going crazy, but you don't
- 1:23Speaker 1: take music. I don't say. I'm gonna tell you why.
- 1:27Speaker 1: My mom My mama was an English teacher, Okay, okay,
- 1:30Speaker 1: So she helped me, Like now that I look back
- 1:33Speaker 1: now that I'm older, like, she really helped me because
- 1:37Speaker 1: I'm country but not like my cousins.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Yeah, everyone from Memphis is Mrsy and in music.
- 1:45Speaker 1: I can say it, but I know how not to say.
- 1:48Speaker 1: You have to.
- 1:49Speaker 2: Your mom was like, no, yeah, you.
- 1:50Speaker 1: Gotta train yourself. It's like a muscle, you gotta work
- 1:52Speaker 1: on it. So I was, you know what I'm saying,
- 1:54Speaker 1: My mama like really helped me with that. I used
- 1:56Speaker 1: to hate that ship too, though, but now I appreciate it.
- 1:59Speaker 1: But it's so pretty much. I was working at the
- 2:03Speaker 1: studio called trap House and Memphis DJ litt Larry who
- 2:07Speaker 1: Trap House. He had Trap House shoot maggots and it's
- 2:09Speaker 1: like he's yo, got the right hand man. And I
- 2:13Speaker 1: had met these this guy Well who's actually young Dogs
- 2:17Speaker 1: producer rest in Peace. Well, he had this crew that
- 2:20Speaker 1: caught the machine and they knew this this guy wizdom
- 2:24Speaker 1: from he was from but he lived in Viable, Timberland,
- 2:27Speaker 1: and I was in school and I met him and
- 2:32Speaker 1: he was like, yo, the studio got raided. I was depressed.
- 2:38Speaker 1: I was like, I don't know what I'm about to do.
- 2:40Speaker 1: Then they called me to come to Miami to work
- 2:44Speaker 1: with this this artist that Tim was just you know,
- 2:47Speaker 1: gave to Wiz to work on he needed a writer.
- 2:50Speaker 1: Flew me down there and I met Tim, I met
- 2:52Speaker 1: Missy and I wasn't supposed to be there for a week,
- 2:55Speaker 1: and I ended up staying like five years, bro, from
- 2:57Speaker 1: like five years, Yes, from twenty twelve to like twenty
- 3:01Speaker 1: I just moved twenty eighth. Well, it's not just move,
- 3:03Speaker 1: but I just I moved here to twenty eighteen. It
- 3:05Speaker 1: sounds like it wasn't a long time ago, but that
- 3:08Speaker 1: was actually five years ago.
- 3:09Speaker 2: So the whole time you were just in Miami just
- 3:11Speaker 2: cooking up with Tim.
- 3:12Speaker 1: Yeah, well yeah, just the flying way, I wasn't even
- 3:14Speaker 1: really cooking up. Like me and Wiz had it like
- 3:17Speaker 1: we would like when when Tim wasn't working, like three
- 3:20Speaker 1: in the morning, when he would leave, we would.
- 3:22Speaker 2: Just you have the studio, so we would be.
- 3:24Speaker 1: Like we would be just literally I was just a kid,
- 3:26Speaker 1: the little twenty year old kid, just walking around the studio,
- 3:29Speaker 1: meeting Wayne, seeing everybody like Polo, I met Little I
- 3:33Speaker 1: met the whole cash money, cool bird And that's kind
- 3:36Speaker 1: of how I did put some I put. I did
- 3:38Speaker 1: that song in respect, put some respect when you mentioned
- 3:40Speaker 1: my name for bird Man.
- 3:41Speaker 2: Because I was just at the studio. You know, it's crazy.
- 3:43Speaker 1: So yeah, I was just I was just there being
- 3:45Speaker 1: just the legit, just like literally just in trying to yo,
- 3:48Speaker 1: you need what you need, what you need, what you need,
- 3:50Speaker 1: what you need. You know what I'm saying because.
- 3:51Speaker 2: Like pick Lingo as you saw you just said, yeah.
- 3:56Speaker 1: Yeah, Florida thing for real, like swear like for real.
- 3:59Speaker 1: So like I'll be saying I'm from Memphis by way
- 4:02Speaker 1: of Miami, because like I feel like I spent like
- 4:04Speaker 1: the years where you grow up, like your.
- 4:06Speaker 2: Twenties formative years in Miami.
- 4:07Speaker 1: Yeah what like I really learned, like.
- 4:11Speaker 2: What are some of your writing credits that you've picked
- 4:14Speaker 2: up over the years.
- 4:16Speaker 1: It's so funny like that one respect because it's so funny.
- 4:21Speaker 1: I was. I heard that song. I was like dang,
- 4:23Speaker 1: I really did that. That's hilarious because you know he did.
- 4:25Speaker 2: That Break Breakfast Iconic interview.
- 4:28Speaker 1: That was why I did it. But uh, I did
- 4:33Speaker 1: Monica just write for me with Lil Wayne. I did
- 4:38Speaker 1: Chris Brown, Discover Jacqueeese you, Sammon Walker, body off of you? Goodness, gracious?
- 4:48Speaker 1: Why I got a brain fart? Lemonade? Uh, Donald Tollivan
- 4:52Speaker 1: and Internet Money ship Yeah, the Internet money Thank you, bro?
- 4:55Speaker 2: You wrote that hook.
- 4:56Speaker 1: I wrote the whole song. You wrote the whole song. Yeah,
- 4:59Speaker 1: it was my song. You can go to Spotify and
- 5:01Speaker 1: listen to my version. Really yeah if you type in
- 5:03Speaker 1: Jozy lemonade like and then you know, and then they
- 5:07Speaker 1: changed the beat and.
- 5:07Speaker 2: Then they made it what it was crazy.
- 5:10Speaker 1: I did mister right now, Uh, twenty one Savage and
- 5:13Speaker 1: Drake yep, I did Asking Titties twenty one Savage.
- 5:17Speaker 2: So when you like, okay, because like we look at
- 5:18Speaker 2: twenty one savages, like you know a rappers, rapper, when
- 5:21Speaker 2: you like, help write on a song for him, is
- 5:23Speaker 2: it the hook? Is it just the hook? Hell?
- 5:25Speaker 1: Nah? I don't write verses okay at all? Like I
- 5:27Speaker 1: don't like they and and and it's a disrespect to
- 5:30Speaker 1: even like like rappers like twenty one in them if
- 5:33Speaker 1: they hear a verse, they don't, they won't play it.
- 5:36Speaker 2: That's good.
- 5:36Speaker 1: So like I don't even want to shoot myself in
- 5:38Speaker 1: the foot to try to even give niggas like you
- 5:41Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, Yeah, I stick with the hook.
- 5:44Speaker 1: I know what worked for me. You know what I'm saying, Like,
- 5:46Speaker 1: I don't I know how to play the game. Bro,
- 5:48Speaker 1: I ain't finna try to write your verses, but the hook,
- 5:51Speaker 1: the idea, like you know what I'm saying.
- 5:53Speaker 2: Structure, mister right now is a big one too.
- 5:55Speaker 1: That was a great one.
- 5:57Speaker 2: I feel like Lemonade is like that's gonna be like
- 6:00Speaker 2: I was one of my six.
- 6:02Speaker 1: Yeah, And what's so funny when I did Old Time Road, Bro,
- 6:05Speaker 1: Like I ain't gonna lie when when it was going
- 6:08Speaker 1: so crazy, I co wrote on it. Yeah, I did
- 6:12Speaker 1: Billy Ray Cyrus's verse on Old Time Road and so
- 6:15Speaker 1: that changed my life. And it was so funny. I
- 6:20Speaker 1: was scared of it, bro, because it was so big,
- 6:23Speaker 1: and I was like, you know, motherfucker's gonna try to
- 6:24Speaker 1: put the They're gonna try to put me in a
- 6:26Speaker 1: in a box as a pop gimmicky writer. So I
- 6:30Speaker 1: was scared of that, bro like it was going it
- 6:32Speaker 1: was going number one, and I was like, Okay, I'm happy,
- 6:34Speaker 1: but like this ain't me and then I promise you
- 6:37Speaker 1: next the next year, Slimonade came out, and then and
- 6:40Speaker 1: then like slit it made me be like okay, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 6:45Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, because like I was, really
- 6:46Speaker 1: I was really, really, really really scared of that.
- 6:49Speaker 2: What was it like because at the time that remix,
- 6:51Speaker 2: that's gotta be this is the biggest song in the
- 6:52Speaker 2: world at the time, and then the remix comes out
- 6:54Speaker 2: and makes it bigger. Do you like know much about
- 6:58Speaker 2: Billy Ray Cyrus before you write the verse, because he's like,
- 7:00Speaker 2: you know, it's a country. I'm from Memphis, right.
- 7:03Speaker 1: So you know, like we like, you know, we next
- 7:07Speaker 1: door to Nashville. You know what I'm saying. We ain't
- 7:09Speaker 1: nothing like Nashville, but we next door to it. So
- 7:11Speaker 1: I mean, and then I used to, like I always say,
- 7:14Speaker 1: I used to be in love with Maley Syrus. I
- 7:16Speaker 1: used to watch Handle my time. I'm still in love
- 7:18Speaker 1: with Maley Cyrus.
- 7:19Speaker 2: What's haying Mally might be out there for you.
- 7:21Speaker 1: I love it.
- 7:21Speaker 2: She got a voice like she got a voice.
- 7:23Speaker 1: Yeah, she's amazing what she do.
- 7:26Speaker 2: When she talks, Like if you heard her do like
- 7:28Speaker 2: interviews like she was on Joe Rogan, She's got she
- 7:30Speaker 2: got a voice like she got a scratchy ass deep.
- 7:34Speaker 1: Voice and don't stop nothing. I got a scratchy deep voice.
- 7:36Speaker 1: I guess it would be all right.
- 7:37Speaker 2: Yeah, her voice is like come on, like what was
- 7:40Speaker 2: what when? Remember when Goorilla was talking about how she
- 7:44Speaker 2: moans when she's getting like I can't imagine like her voice.
- 7:50Speaker 1: Saying that deep. That's wild. But yeah, I definitely was
- 7:54Speaker 1: aware of Billerray Syrus. You know what I'm saying.
- 7:56Speaker 2: So like, were you like you were kind of were
- 7:58Speaker 2: you nervous outside of like being boxed in? Were you
- 8:01Speaker 2: just nervous like damn, like this is a big look, Like.
- 8:03Speaker 1: I was nervous about being boxed in, bro, I just
- 8:05Speaker 1: do you were worried about just like nah, man, I
- 8:08Speaker 1: ain't care about nothing else but just being boxed in.
- 8:10Speaker 1: I just was like, I hold, these folks don't think
- 8:13Speaker 1: that that I'm this type of writer, right, you know
- 8:15Speaker 1: what I'm saying, Like, just I don't want people to
- 8:18Speaker 1: think that I'm like, you know, cause I'm I'm I'm
- 8:21Speaker 1: really I really can make substance right, and like not
- 8:24Speaker 1: that I'm saying Old Time Rod was a substance because
- 8:27Speaker 1: what Lena's X did was incredible with that song, right,
- 8:30Speaker 1: So I'm not like jabbing, you know what I'm saying,
- 8:32Speaker 1: But I just know, like I'm a r Like I'm
- 8:35Speaker 1: a songwriter who really loves lyrics and like who really
- 8:37Speaker 1: loves like putting thought into like like feeling and like
- 8:43Speaker 1: not trying to control the algorithm. That was very That
- 8:45Speaker 1: was like he controlled the algorithm with that song, like
- 8:48Speaker 1: just crazy.
- 8:49Speaker 2: That song was everywhere the biggest songs ever, insane. So
- 8:53Speaker 2: for you, like cause I I've seen it happen with
- 8:56Speaker 2: other artists where they're like really big and like kind
- 8:58Speaker 2: of perceived as a writer. It's worked out for other
- 9:00Speaker 2: artists where they pop as an artist. But I know
- 9:05Speaker 2: it's like is it tougher for you to, like do
- 9:10Speaker 2: you do you have to shake the writer like because
- 9:13Speaker 2: people see you as a writer sometimes and they might
- 9:15Speaker 2: not see you as a artist. Because I've seen that
- 9:16Speaker 2: happen with other writers a little like, like, I mean,
- 9:19Speaker 2: it's probably a gifting the curse. You already got your
- 9:21Speaker 2: foot in the door.
- 9:22Speaker 1: But yeah, what's so crazy? Like I used to have
- 9:26Speaker 1: a lot of a and RS call me before I
- 9:27Speaker 1: dropped this project, like, yo, work work with my artist.
- 9:30Speaker 1: Like now it's quiet. I think people like they kind
- 9:33Speaker 1: of scared to like hit me to work because they
- 9:36Speaker 1: know that I'm really I'm really focused on my artist thing.
- 9:40Speaker 1: But what's so what I'm blessed about is every artist
- 9:43Speaker 1: that I work with. Bro, Like I got a connection
- 9:45Speaker 1: with these folks. I can text a little baby. I
- 9:48Speaker 1: can text way On right now and be like, twin
- 9:49Speaker 1: what you think about this? I can text Coco Jones
- 9:51Speaker 1: and be like, yo, I got this song? What you think?
- 9:54Speaker 1: Like I'm really blessed, Like literally, like Chloe just texted
- 9:57Speaker 1: me a few days ago, like yo, can I can
- 9:59Speaker 1: I work on that song that you that you sit me?
- 10:01Speaker 1: I'm like please go ahead. Like so I'm so blessed
- 10:04Speaker 1: that like like I can text these artists. You know
- 10:08Speaker 1: what I'm saying, I don't need like I don't have
- 10:10Speaker 1: to like go through anybody, And I don't mind. I'll
- 10:13Speaker 1: mess with you know if like you want to do sessions.
- 10:15Speaker 1: But like, like I look at how like I tell you,
- 10:18Speaker 1: I look at how the Dream and Missy did it,
- 10:19Speaker 1: Like the Dream did stop writing for people he wrote.
- 10:21Speaker 1: He was selective for who he wrote for, but he
- 10:23Speaker 1: still gave Rianna hits. He still gave Beyonce hiss.
- 10:26Speaker 2: You know, Missy, same exactly, bro.
- 10:28Speaker 1: So like I don't have to stop one thing to
- 10:31Speaker 1: do the other. I feel like when I step out
- 10:34Speaker 1: when I want to drop my music, I'm in my bag.
- 10:36Speaker 1: Yeah you know what I'm saying. Like, but yeah, I
- 10:39Speaker 1: feel like I always been. I meet whatever I do
- 10:42Speaker 1: as an artist or as a songwriter, like I didn't
- 10:44Speaker 1: want to be no ghostwriter, like I want I'm a star.
- 10:47Speaker 1: Like when I walk in that room as a songwriter,
- 10:50Speaker 1: I'm a star. When I walk in that room as
- 10:52Speaker 1: an artist, I'm a star.
- 10:53Speaker 2: No matter what. Yeah, yeah, you know what I'm saying.
- 10:55Speaker 2: You Uh you mentioned uh hanging out with Missy? How
- 10:58Speaker 2: were you guys? She's one of the goats. Uh did
- 11:03Speaker 2: you guys build a relationship?
- 11:04Speaker 1: Super? Super We built a really great relationship. I don't
- 11:09Speaker 1: talk to her as much now, but she would hit
- 11:11Speaker 1: me up like I'm proud of you, congratulations. But yeah, now,
- 11:16Speaker 1: like Missy taught me a lot. She really taught me.
- 11:19Speaker 1: She taught me how to Like when I was staying
- 11:21Speaker 1: with her, she didn't have an engineer, so I had
- 11:23Speaker 1: to learn how to record myself. I had to learn how.
- 11:26Speaker 2: To Like you were like staying with Missy Elliott.
- 11:28Speaker 1: Yeah, I I was at a like in Atlanta. We
- 11:30Speaker 1: stayed with her for a few few weeks. Then I
- 11:33Speaker 1: went to Jersey and we stayed with her and like
- 11:35Speaker 1: literally she she made us do this master cleans for
- 11:38Speaker 1: like seven days and we was like starving. She made
- 11:42Speaker 1: me start my weight last journey. I lost like sixty pounds.
- 11:45Speaker 2: Yeah, she did a great job, not playing office she did.
- 11:47Speaker 1: Yeah, so like so yeah, like Missy like she really
- 11:51Speaker 1: she really taught me how to like get the work done.
- 11:54Speaker 1: Like she don't go out. She works, and she worked
- 11:56Speaker 1: like she broke and I was broke, and I'm trying
- 11:59Speaker 1: to go out side right and She's like, take your
- 12:02Speaker 1: ass in this free studio that I got upstairs. You
- 12:04Speaker 1: got a free studio upstairs. Why the hell you wanna
- 12:06Speaker 1: go outside? Like when somebody like like break it down
- 12:11Speaker 1: like that, Like nigga, you broke, why you wouldn't go outside?
- 12:14Speaker 2: I was like, that's some real ship that shit.
- 12:16Speaker 1: She could have told me, Bro.
- 12:17Speaker 2: You said you just did a show it sobs in
- 12:19Speaker 2: New York, which is obviously a legendary venue.
- 12:21Speaker 1: Or was that like that ship man, that's like s
- 12:26Speaker 1: O B's. That was the probably the most amazing energy
- 12:30Speaker 1: that I ever got from, like, cause you know New York,
- 12:32Speaker 1: they like New York is tough, for sure, It's tough.
- 12:35Speaker 2: Yeah, take it could go either way, go.
- 12:37Speaker 1: Either way, Bro, And it went the right way. And
- 12:41Speaker 1: and like no, puff Puff didn't pull up. And I'm
- 12:43Speaker 1: really glad you didn't. You know, it would have been
- 12:46Speaker 1: like you know, it would have been like more about
- 12:49Speaker 1: puff in New York. And I held my own.

- 15:35Speaker 1: they was there for me. Sobs. I ain't gonna front though,
- 15:39Speaker 1: like they got it. I tell I tell you, they
- 15:41Speaker 1: gotta fix s Obs up though a little bit. They
- 15:43Speaker 1: got it. It's like that they got what they gotta
- 15:46Speaker 1: do something.
- 15:46Speaker 2: Bro Like it's Sobs, Sobs.
- 15:49Speaker 1: It ain't gonna change.
- 15:50Speaker 2: It's just it's just so OB's man.
- 15:52Speaker 1: Like Walmart, Walmart is gonna be Walmart ain't gonna put
- 15:55Speaker 1: no chandeliers.
- 15:55Speaker 2: And then nah, Sobs. You know, this is kind of
- 15:59Speaker 2: like that venue you gotta hit in New York on
- 16:01Speaker 2: your way up and.
- 16:02Speaker 1: You just gotta take it. It was amazing that I
- 16:05Speaker 1: do it again right now.
- 16:06Speaker 2: I was gonna say, how it because because you were
- 16:08Speaker 2: saying a bunch of dudes showed up to the show,
- 16:11Speaker 2: Because I do feel like.
- 16:12Speaker 1: I love that too. I love that it was a
- 16:14Speaker 1: lot of guys in there.
- 16:15Speaker 2: How would you say your fan base is like, are
- 16:18Speaker 2: you noticing like a lot more women or men? Like
- 16:20Speaker 2: because it feels like you're because you kind of as
- 16:22Speaker 2: a as a as a lesbian woman. I feel like
- 16:24Speaker 2: you're like, when I listen to your ship, I kind
- 16:26Speaker 2: of like I can relate to this ship because talking
- 16:28Speaker 2: about you know what I mean, like with girl, you
- 16:31Speaker 2: know what I'm saying. So it's like, you know, I
- 16:33Speaker 2: feel like it's a related related You're kind of relatable
- 16:35Speaker 2: on both aisles. Thank you, So you're kind of checking
- 16:37Speaker 2: a lot of boxes, like and I feel like other
- 16:39Speaker 2: female artists on the R and B side might not
- 16:43Speaker 2: thank you. Again.
- 16:44Speaker 1: That means a lot because I'm telling you both. That
- 16:46Speaker 1: was a different crowd, Like it was a lot a
- 16:48Speaker 1: lot of girls, a lot of girls that was and
- 16:51Speaker 1: then it was like and then in the middle it
- 16:54Speaker 1: was like couples, and then in the back it was
- 16:58Speaker 1: the hood niggas and like did to the motherfucking left side,
- 17:02Speaker 1: it was like like the like in the VIP section,
- 17:06Speaker 1: it's the baddies, you know, they want to send in
- 17:07Speaker 1: the VIP section. Then you had your gay couples, you know,
- 17:11Speaker 1: guys on gods and it was just everybody was just
- 17:13Speaker 1: like I never like I really didn't know what my
- 17:15Speaker 1: crowd was. I was just like it was crazy, like
- 17:18Speaker 1: in the front it was just all girls, but like
- 17:20Speaker 1: you know, I really just I love that that my
- 17:24Speaker 1: crowd is what it is, you know what I'm saying,
- 17:26Speaker 1: And I appreciate that even in Atlanta, like I was like, oh, yeah,
- 17:31Speaker 1: it's it's it's not just one thing. And that means
- 17:34Speaker 1: a lot to me because like it looked like like
- 17:37Speaker 1: the guys was feeling and guys was in there. I'm like, damn, bro,
- 17:40Speaker 1: like that made me feel That made me feel feel
- 17:43Speaker 1: good and appreciate it because you know, you just want
- 17:46Speaker 1: everybody not to feel like, yo, oh she's a gay artist.
- 17:49Speaker 1: She's for gay she's for the gaye. No, like I
- 17:52Speaker 1: ain't for the I don't even I'm not for the gaze.
- 17:54Speaker 1: I'm for the women. I'm for the niggas. It's why
- 17:56Speaker 1: I songs women for Game, for niggas.
- 17:59Speaker 2: For everybody, everybody, you know. Yeah, like I couldn't say
- 18:04Speaker 2: for the gays.
- 18:07Speaker 1: I'm for everybody, you know, for the gags, for everybody
- 18:10Speaker 1: you know.
- 18:10Speaker 2: But like I love that for you, Like, uh, you know,
- 18:15Speaker 2: obviously did he? Because did he? We we think back
- 18:19Speaker 2: to what was it about a year ago he said
- 18:21Speaker 2: R and B is dead and then for him to
- 18:24Speaker 2: launch Love Records and have an amazing, Like, I mean,
- 18:28Speaker 2: you're making just dope records that are thank you so much.
- 18:30Speaker 2: Reminded me of like the R and B that's kind
- 18:33Speaker 2: of been missing. You know. We get a lot of
- 18:36Speaker 2: like the alternative R and B vibe ship, but I'm like,
- 18:38Speaker 2: where's that RM B shit that I grew up on?
- 18:41Speaker 2: You know, So for you, uh, do you feel any
- 18:43Speaker 2: pressure like being signed to the guy who said R
- 18:46Speaker 2: and B is dead?
- 18:47Speaker 1: No, no pressure because you got to back that up,
- 18:50Speaker 1: you know, like, and what's so amazing? Nobody nobody online
- 18:54Speaker 1: was said nothing crazy like and I'm not even person
- 18:58Speaker 1: who like looks coming, but like literally nobody said anything
- 19:03Speaker 1: about that R and B is dead, Like oh oh,
- 19:05Speaker 1: she didn't live up to it, Like no, I didn't
- 19:07Speaker 1: see not.
- 19:08Speaker 2: One Like well, I mean I think Diddy knew what
- 19:10Speaker 2: he was doing. He probably was like, yeah, R and
- 19:11Speaker 2: B is dead, but I got the answer.
- 19:13Speaker 1: But the thing is, yeah, I mean like R and
- 19:16Speaker 1: B is here and it's alive, and it's crazy.
- 19:19Speaker 2: I think in a great.
- 19:20Speaker 1: RB is in a great space. It's just a certain
- 19:23Speaker 1: RB like they don't like like the up tempos like
- 19:26Speaker 1: summertime jams, like what happened to the Loomye D's and
- 19:29Speaker 1: like the Jagged what's the party? You know what I'm saying,
- 19:34Speaker 1: And that's why we're replaying that it's gone for sure,
- 19:36Speaker 1: Yeah no, but it's not we bringing it back. That's
- 19:37Speaker 1: why we got replayed. That's why we got commotion.
- 19:40Speaker 2: That's even like the Army groups groups, Yeah what flow
- 19:43Speaker 2: from from the UK? Yeah, they just had a show.
- 19:47Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly, flow from the u k is. Like the
- 19:50Speaker 1: u k IS is like actually shipping on us right
- 19:52Speaker 1: now on the RBS, they're shipping on us when it
- 19:55Speaker 1: comes to a lot of things with music. I ain't
- 19:57Speaker 1: gonna lie to y'all. They're they're so progressive, but shout
- 20:00Speaker 1: out to my boys saying uptown who got flowed? But
- 20:03Speaker 1: like literally like that's what I want to do. I
- 20:06Speaker 1: want to bring back summertime bots. You know what I'm saying.
- 20:08Speaker 1: And that's why that's why, like replay has that feeling
- 20:11Speaker 1: and commotion and like I want to even alone, Like
- 20:15Speaker 1: you can play alone in the club. I've heard it of. DJ.
- 20:17Speaker 1: Just speed it up a little bit and it's still
- 20:19Speaker 1: got a bot where you can Like that's what I'm
- 20:21Speaker 1: talking about, Like still got a hip hop vibe to
- 20:23Speaker 1: it for you.
- 20:25Speaker 2: Obviously putting out an EP is the album still being
- 20:28Speaker 2: worked on.
- 20:29Speaker 1: Man, I'm listening, bro, I'm almost done with the album literally, bro,
- 20:32Speaker 1: Like I'm I literally just texted Puff today like, Yo,
- 20:35Speaker 1: I'm about to put the project on. I mean, we
- 20:37Speaker 1: transfer you what I got so far. I want you
- 20:41Speaker 1: to listen to it, digest it, and you know, because
- 20:44Speaker 1: I like, it's a lot of things that I want
- 20:45Speaker 1: to like fix up and clean up. But this this
- 20:48Speaker 1: album is about to be. Like I don't have no
- 20:49Speaker 1: features on the last album on the EP because I
- 20:52Speaker 1: want to hold my own. I didn't want an artists
- 20:54Speaker 1: to feel like I'm trying to use them, so like
- 20:56Speaker 1: I'm going for the I'm going.
- 20:58Speaker 2: I'm going.
- 20:59Speaker 1: I'm trying to go for anyone out, won't You're not scared?
- 21:01Speaker 1: I'm asking everybody.
- 21:02Speaker 2: Well. I keep hearing about also too, like, uh, this
- 21:06Speaker 2: Diddy album, a lot of people have heard it's so good.
- 21:11Speaker 2: Uh obviously he put the bryceon Tiller single out last year.
- 21:15Speaker 2: Are you helping him a lot with that?
- 21:17Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm I'm damn it. Like an I heard it's.
- 21:20Speaker 2: Like a DJ Khaled type R and B album, Cuz.
- 21:23Speaker 1: That's that's a beautiful damn that's hard. That's exactly what
- 21:26Speaker 1: it is. And he's rapping on it though, like but
- 21:28Speaker 1: definitely like like he is, like what's the circus the.
- 21:32Speaker 2: Barnom he's that he's the ring master.
- 21:38Speaker 1: Yeah, he's he's like you know what I'm saying, and
- 21:41Speaker 1: like it is so freaking good, Like and literally I
- 21:45Speaker 1: am at the project, like as far as like taking
- 21:49Speaker 1: like every song, like taking it off, putting songs on it.
- 21:52Speaker 1: He's trusting me what I'll be having to like like
- 21:56Speaker 1: if I leave for a week, he'll put a song
- 21:58Speaker 1: on them, like Puff, take that off? No, take that off,
- 22:02Speaker 1: Like I gotta like be around here twenty four seven
- 22:04Speaker 1: because it's always somebody else.
- 22:05Speaker 2: Around you know what I'm saying.
- 22:07Speaker 1: But like this man is just a genius bro Like
- 22:09Speaker 1: Puff is like scary. This dude's ear. The dude's ear
- 22:13Speaker 1: is just I just don't.
- 22:15Speaker 2: Like as you fuck, his work ethics insane.
- 22:18Speaker 1: His work ethic is nasty. It's kind of I like
- 22:22Speaker 1: he's a little OCD, you know, and I'm not. I'm
- 22:25Speaker 1: not an OCD you like person when it comes especially
- 22:28Speaker 1: when it comes to music, Like like if you hear
- 22:30Speaker 1: my chain rattling and there's just gonna stand.
- 22:32Speaker 2: And I don't care if.
- 22:33Speaker 1: You hear the chair out if you're recording vocals or yeah,
- 22:36Speaker 1: I don't care about like I'm just not I like that.
- 22:40Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, for sure, Yes I agree, you know what
- 22:44Speaker 2: I'm saying.
- 22:45Speaker 1: But like you know, I be like, stop, you don't overcook,
- 22:49Speaker 1: like you can cook, but don't overcook your ship, like
- 22:51Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. So I'm trying to teach.
- 22:53Speaker 1: And I think that's the difference between the nineties and
- 22:55Speaker 1: today is like the nineties they took so they took
- 22:57Speaker 1: a long time with everything that they do.
- 23:00Speaker 2: For sure, they took a long time.
- 23:02Speaker 1: But like you know, there's a there's a way, like
- 23:04Speaker 1: we can kind of like integrate your your way and
- 23:08Speaker 1: then yeah, yeah, and like you know, don't overcook it.
- 23:11Speaker 2: So for you are you like are you are you straight?
- 23:13Speaker 2: Just going in cutting the melody first and filming in
- 23:16Speaker 2: the lyrics.
- 23:16Speaker 1: I'm a freestyle of a show, like I'm a free
- 23:20Speaker 1: the way future the way do it is the same
- 23:22Speaker 1: way I do it. Like literally, I go in there
- 23:24Speaker 1: a freestyle. I'll come I'll go out there and sit
- 23:27Speaker 1: with my engineer comp the melodies and then I'll be like, yo,
- 23:30Speaker 1: I don't even write anymore. I'll be like, play the
- 23:32Speaker 1: line line for line, just hit and so sometimes that.
- 23:36Speaker 2: The way most people are doing it.
- 23:39Speaker 1: That's how I write songs for anybody, though, like with anybody.
- 23:41Speaker 1: And it's so hard because like when I'm writing for artists,
- 23:43Speaker 1: they be like, send me the lyrics. I'm like, damn,
- 23:45Speaker 1: I gotta write. Oh, it'd be so hard. Like that's
- 23:49Speaker 1: the worst part of the whole thing is having to
- 23:50Speaker 1: write it. When they be like, sem me the lyrics.
- 23:52Speaker 2: I'm like a.
- 23:54Speaker 1: First, yeah, bro, cause like you be just because I
- 23:57Speaker 1: do like four songs a night, five songs a night,
- 23:59Speaker 1: like write home, I can do like five songs like
- 24:01Speaker 1: whole songs, damn, and so like that. After that third
- 24:05Speaker 1: or fourth if you don't mean be one of the light,
- 24:06Speaker 1: you be in such the mood you don't you don't
- 24:10Speaker 1: want to stop and write these lyrics down, bro, They's
- 24:12Speaker 1: just be like stopping the process.
- 24:13Speaker 2: But it is summertime. If you're dealing with electi rectile
- 24:17Speaker 2: dysfunction ed, if you will, maybe you got stress at work,
