- 0:05Speaker 1: Hey, y'all remember twenty twenty right, Yeah, COVID social distancing,
- 0:11Speaker 1: murder hornets.
- 0:13Speaker 2: Yeah you'all forgot about murder hornets? Huh?
- 0:16Speaker 1: Or maybe you remember our nationwide reckoning with racism. After
- 0:19Speaker 1: the murder George Floyd, white people across America looked around
- 0:22Speaker 1: and said.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Wait a second, are we racists?
- 0:25Speaker 1: So America took a good hard look at itself, and
- 0:27Speaker 1: when big corporations sought themselves in the mirror, they said,
- 0:30Speaker 1: oh shit, we're white as inequality in corporate America. There
- 0:35Speaker 1: are only five black CEOs running Fortune five hundred companies.
- 0:39Speaker 2: You can see six percent of top executives as black.
- 0:43Speaker 1: In terms of the population of the United States, it
- 0:45Speaker 1: should be thirteen percent. In the video, Nike said, don't
- 0:48Speaker 1: pretend there's not a problem in America.
- 0:51Speaker 3: Critics point out that all of Nike's executives are white.
- 0:56Speaker 2: That's right.
- 0:56Speaker 1: The board and Nike was so white. They were all
- 0:58Speaker 1: wearing new balance. And to address this problem, businesses turned
- 1:04Speaker 1: to a solution called diversity.
- 1:06Speaker 2: Equity and Inclusion are DEI.
- 1:09Speaker 1: It means more fair hiring policies, new anti discrimination rules
- 1:12Speaker 1: for the workplace, and sensitivity training seminars and The first
- 1:16Speaker 1: thing it led to was a shitload of ads. Real
- 1:19Speaker 1: progress on diversity and inclusion doesn't happen without real work.
- 1:25Speaker 1: You sa celebrate diversity into your X one voice remote
- 1:29Speaker 1: to discover curated content Today every day, General Meals serves
- 1:33Speaker 1: the world by making food people love and inclusion.
- 1:37Speaker 2: It's one of our secret.
- 1:39Speaker 3: Ingredients at craft times, all purposes to make life delicious,
- 1:44Speaker 3: and we believe we can't achieve that that one essential
- 1:47Speaker 3: ingredients diversity. It's diversity that makes life delicious. We're on
- 1:54Speaker 3: a four hundred year long journey and scars don't fade,
- 1:58Speaker 3: but neither does hope.
- 2:01Speaker 1: Ask your doctor, black people are right for you. Nobody's
- 2:06Speaker 1: buying basiline because of diversity. Come to think of it,
- 2:09Speaker 1: I don't think I've ever actually bought vasiline.
- 2:11Speaker 2: It's just there, like it comes with the house. Right.
- 2:16Speaker 1: So that's how things stood in twenty twenty.
- 2:18Speaker 2: But that was like fifteen years ago.
- 2:20Speaker 1: Today, when people talk about de I, it's more likely
- 2:22Speaker 1: to sound like.
- 2:23Speaker 3: This DEI is just a rebranded version of hating white people.
- 2:29Speaker 1: DEI in this case stands for divisive, erroneous, and insidious.
- 2:35Speaker 2: DEI, which stands for didn't.
- 2:37Speaker 1: Earn it discrimination, exclusion and indoctrination. EIDI stands for doctor
- 2:45Speaker 1: dre e.
- 2:46Speaker 2: E in IQ.
- 2:51Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah, y'all cheering out there, But do you
- 2:54Speaker 1: want with attitude coming to your office?
- 2:58Speaker 2: These right wingers are crazy, right Jesus?
- 3:01Speaker 1: But here's the part where you all stop applauding everything
- 3:03Speaker 1: I say. The truth about DEI is that, although it's
- 3:06Speaker 1: well intentioned, it's mostly garbage. Okay, it's kind of like
- 3:10Speaker 1: the Black Little Mermaid. Just because racist hate it doesn't
- 3:14Speaker 1: mean it's good. And you know I'm right because every
- 3:18Speaker 1: one of you has sat through one of those diversity
- 3:20Speaker 1: training sessions.
- 3:20Speaker 2: And thought this is bullshit. And it's not just you.
- 3:25Speaker 1: Over nine hundred studies have shown that DEI programs don't
- 3:29Speaker 1: make the workplace better for minorities. In fact, it can
- 3:32Speaker 1: actually make things worse because of the backlash effect. Remember
- 3:36Speaker 1: Dare from school, y'all remember Dare?
- 3:39Speaker 2: Yeah, she said woo.
- 3:42Speaker 1: DEI training is like daan for racism, and you all
- 3:47Speaker 1: know how effective that was. I was sitting there going,
- 3:49Speaker 1: oh shit, there's a ton of fun drugs I should try.
- 3:53Speaker 1: I didn't even know about Moley, thanks Officer John. But
- 3:57Speaker 1: the biggest failure of DEI is that the number of
- 4:01Speaker 1: black people in power at big companies is basically the
- 4:04Speaker 1: same as it was five years ago.
- 4:06Speaker 2: In fact, maybe the only thing that DEI.
- 4:09Speaker 1: Has accomplished is giving racist white people cover to be
- 4:12Speaker 1: openly racist.
- 4:14Speaker 2: DEI breeds complacency, Dana and complacency kills.
- 4:18Speaker 1: We're gonna have doctors who don't know how to perform
- 4:20Speaker 1: heart surgery, and we're gonna have planes that are falling
- 4:23Speaker 1: out of the sky. Boeing recently bragg not about being
- 4:26Speaker 1: the best in the business, but about surpassing its diversity quotas.
- 4:30Speaker 1: Oh goodie, but then not so good. A door flying
- 4:33Speaker 1: off one of Boeing seven thirty seven supermaxis.
- 4:36Speaker 2: I'm sorry, if I see a black pilot, I'm gonna
- 4:39Speaker 2: be like, boy, I hope he's qualified.
- 4:42Speaker 1: I mean, honestly, when I see a black pilot, I'm
- 4:44Speaker 1: not worried that we're going to crash.
- 4:46Speaker 2: I'm worried that.
- 4:47Speaker 1: We're going to get pulled over. That's right, and no
- 4:57Speaker 1: officer I will not step out of his vehicle, all right.
- 5:01Speaker 1: But yeah, they're blaming THEI for everything, even that bridge
- 5:05Speaker 1: in Baltimore they called Baltimore's mayor, the DEI mayor like
- 5:09Speaker 1: he was given the job for being black. Then they
- 5:12Speaker 1: said the shipping company was too focused on DEI instead
- 5:16Speaker 1: of safety.
- 5:17Speaker 2: But almost the entire leadership with a company is white,
- 5:22Speaker 2: no black people. Right.
- 5:24Speaker 1: If anything, the Baltimore mayor, he should have been the
- 5:27Speaker 1: one to make it racist.
- 5:28Speaker 2: Just come out like these crackers knocked down my bridge. Okay,
- 5:33Speaker 2: all right, and one of y'all crackers better pay for it. Okay.
- 5:38Speaker 1: And honestly, I'm not surprised these programs didn't work.
- 5:41Speaker 2: And here's why.
- 5:43Speaker 1: It's just corporate pr They want good vibes and also
- 5:47Speaker 1: they want to cover their ass.
- 5:49Speaker 2: Okay.
- 5:50Speaker 1: Did you know that if a company gets sued for
- 5:52Speaker 1: civil rights violations, just having a DEI program will be
- 5:55Speaker 1: counted as evidence in their favor, even if the program
- 5:59Speaker 1: doesn't do shit. Okay, it's the I have a black
- 6:01Speaker 1: friend of the legal system. All right. We don't need
- 6:06Speaker 1: corporate DEI. Yes, we want diversity and equity and inclusion,
- 6:11Speaker 1: but we don't want it from Vasiline. Although I'm not
- 6:14Speaker 1: going to front, Vasiline has been there for the black
- 6:16Speaker 1: community respect.
- 6:17Speaker 2: Okay, that's right, that's right. I'm moisturized Okay.
- 6:25Speaker 1: Look, man, real DEI is only going to come from
- 6:28Speaker 1: black leadership. I don't know how to do it because
- 6:31Speaker 1: I'm not a black leader, but I do know how
- 6:33Speaker 1: to tell if it's working.
- 6:34Speaker 2: Just keep an eye on right wing media.
- 6:36Speaker 1: The more they're freaking out, the more progress we're making.
