- 0:32[SPEAKER_01]: A very busy Wednesday in the Mile High City for your Denver Broncos, who, Tom, last night checked.
- 0:39[SPEAKER_01]: It's game week.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_01]: Here it is.
- 0:42[SPEAKER_01]: The Denver Broncos Square Off against the San Francisco Forty Niners.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_01]: This Saturday, man, we got a lot of storylines to get to.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_01]: We've got game week and preseason game number one.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_01]: We've got the release of the unofficial depth chart.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_01]: We want to hear reaction from you.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_01]: How are we feeling?
- 0:59[SPEAKER_01]: Are we proud?
- 1:00[SPEAKER_01]: Are we pissed?
- 1:00[SPEAKER_01]: Are we confused?
- 1:02[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to take you through all of that and more, including our very latest over at MileHoddle.com.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_01]: But before we do that, I am Luke Patterson joined with me as always.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_01]: Thomas Hall, we are M-H-I, where you can catch us every Wednesday, night at six p.m.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_01]: Mountain.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_01]: Tom busy busy day in Broncos country.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_01]: How are we doing?
- 1:20[SPEAKER_04]: Doing great, man.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_04]: I'm excited for football, excited for the Broncos to be playing again, finally, but with a lot more hope than we've had for a long time.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_04]: So it's I'm ready to see this first preseason game coming up.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_01]: Preseason game number one, and everybody wants to know how many reps are the starters going to get?
- 1:42[SPEAKER_01]: What are the competition battles?
- 1:44[SPEAKER_01]: Are we going to see any turnover, right?
- 1:45[SPEAKER_01]: It sometimes feels like an election in training camp.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_01]: What do I mean by that?
- 1:49[SPEAKER_01]: Well, just because you were the starter last year does not mean as the incumbent you have the right to start this year.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_01]: I know I know I know.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_01]: The veterans on the unofficial depth chart have everybody fired up asking what about the rookies?
- 2:02[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to get into Sean Payton's comments and more and you could read about those over at milehighhuddle.com.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_01]: But before we do, head on over to X, give Tom a follow at Thomas Hall NFL.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_01]: You're truly at Luke Patterson LP head on over to the mothership at mile high huddle and follow this pot at MHI underscore pot.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_01]: Tom, here we go.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_01]: Off to the races, the unofficial depth chart is officially out came out this afternoon.
- 2:26[SPEAKER_01]: And I think the very first thing I saw is from one of the best sources out there.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_01]: The only source I really trust, there are a few, but Adam Shefters, one of the good ones.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_01]: He's a guy near and dear to Broncos country's heart, came up here in the Mile High City.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_01]: Adam Shefters tweeting, man, Quadzilla.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_01]: Broncos knew, stuck at round rookie running back is at buried at the bottom of the depth chart.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_01]: What was your reaction, Thomas Hall?
- 2:55[SPEAKER_04]: Well, I was disappointed a little bit, not because I'm not that I think he's actually the sixth best running back.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_04]: But it would be nice to them to do it for real.
- 3:05[SPEAKER_04]: Like this is where they're actually slotted in and I know all the rookies are buried.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_04]: That's just how they're doing it.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_04]: But for my perspective and from a fans perspective, I'd like to see where they kind of sit right now because it's nice to know.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_04]: It's nice to know where your, you know, your favorite rookies.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_04]: how they're doing, where they're at on that depth chart, are they going to get more playing time?
- 3:28[SPEAKER_04]: So to me, it was a little bit anticlimactic when it came out when it comes to the rookies for sure, just bearing in them all, and especially bearing.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_04]: You know, I mean, sorry, Harvey, who's going to get a bulk of the carries.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_04]: You know he is in the season.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_04]: He's not really buried on the depth chart.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_01]: No, especially what he just one day removed from a beautiful route.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't get a chance to study it quite.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_01]: It was a little wheel route or something where he toasts a linebacker up the up the scene there.
- 3:57[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that's nice.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_01]: You like to see that and that's practice.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's a drill.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_01]: Those linebackers usually get shook in those drills.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_01]: I'm watching them for years, but still it's nice to see Mike Thompson way in here on MH.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_01]: I Baron is last.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_01]: Well, that's just it, Mike.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_01]: It's silly, man.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_01]: And Tom and I were talking about this quick peek behind the curtain.
- 4:20[SPEAKER_01]: We love this team.
- 4:21[SPEAKER_01]: We love football.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_01]: All we do is talk about the Broncos even before the show starts.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_01]: And Tom and I are kicking around the ball.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_01]: We're talking a little bit.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_01]: And it's like, huh?
- 4:30[SPEAKER_01]: silly rookie nonsense from Sean Payton, eh, and you can read about that over mileaddle.com.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_01]: Zach's got an article up right now and Sean Payton said, point blank.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_01]: If you're wondering about the rookies, it's team policy per head coach Sean Payton.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_01]: They're placed, quote, back of the line because it is, quote, easy and there isn't a lot of thoughts.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, code flat.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_01]: It's feelings be known, especially last summer.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_01]: He did not like having to be told when he has to do something and how to do it.
- 5:00[SPEAKER_01]: This is one of those things.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_01]: The unofficial depth chart, John Peyton kind of gives the middle finger to the league saying, I'm not letting anybody know where I have my rookies.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_01]: They can go to the very last place, including Broncos first round quarterback today.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and it is a bothers me because I get it, you know, first round guy, he, you know, he's not last on the chart either second round guy.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_04]: Now third round guy, that's when we start to wonder, okay, where how they've been doing in camp?
- 5:29[SPEAKER_04]: Like fans that don't get to be a training camp.
- 5:32[SPEAKER_04]: When that depth chart comes out, it's always good to kind of see where the rookies are.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_04]: You know, and then to see some of the later round rookies that, you know, the late round gems, are they, are they gems?
- 5:43[SPEAKER_04]: Or are they not?
- 5:43[SPEAKER_04]: Where are they going to land?
- 5:44[SPEAKER_04]: Like my guy saving on Jones.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_04]: He's, he's buried on the depth chart, too.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_04]: But I was interested to see just how good he was.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_04]: And I'm not going to see that until the preseason game and probably probably into the regular season before we really know for sure, where he really is on the depth chart.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_01]: Speaking of depth chart are good for David Yoke and he's the very top of our depth chart always way and in very generous with his time here on MHI we appreciate you David.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_01]: Who's winning the quarterback battle just kidding?
- 6:14[SPEAKER_01]: And that's exactly where I went with Tom.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_01]: I said, you know, it's funny.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_01]: My members a little hazy.
- 6:18[SPEAKER_01]: I'm getting older, right?
- 6:19[SPEAKER_01]: Tom, if you gray hairs in the beard these days, if memory serves, Bonyx was not buried on the back of the dead.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_01]: in twenty twenty four.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_01]: That's right.
- 6:31[SPEAKER_01]: The same bow next to his confident cool in command and his mastering this offense.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_01]: He was your rookie passing leader surpassing Jaden Daniels everybody.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_01]: Chad Jensen loves to remind you of that because we all love Jaden Daniels.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_01]: But perhaps Botanix is not getting the respect that he deserves.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_01]: Tom, I don't know if you got to see this.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_01]: Botanix released or his team.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know who did it.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_01]: A short nine minute video talking about kind of his behind the scenes work.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_01]: I took a peek at it today.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_01]: Do you know what I'm talking about?
- 7:01[SPEAKER_01]: Have you had a chance to look at it?
- 7:03[SPEAKER_01]: What do you have to see me holding?
- 7:05[SPEAKER_01]: I absolutely loved it.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe it's the old man in me now, but I immediately went to my daughter and I'm who's an athlete, right?
- 7:11[SPEAKER_01]: A student athlete and I'm like, here, you got to look at this.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_01]: It's just incredible to see the way that Bo works.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_01]: I'm almost sure that the Denver Broncos or Bo's agent, someone put him up to this because Bo next does not like the camera in his face.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_01]: You can tell he just wanted to get his work in and get out.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and I've been seeing all offseason that the way he goes about this business, the hard work that he puts in.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_04]: And that's another thing that just kind of illustrates that when people are starting talking about he's going to have a sophomore slump and you know, people are going to catch up to him.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_04]: No, he puts the work in.
- 7:45[SPEAKER_04]: He goes out there obviously every day about goes about his business the right way and puts in the work.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_04]: And that's
- 7:54[SPEAKER_04]: To me is why I think he's going to have even a better season this year, one of the reasons, because he's just went out and got himself better and better in the offense, making himself a better quarterback, more of a pro, more of a pro quarterback, and it's going to play out on the field this year.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_01]: I love our mission statement near my high-huddle, right?
- 8:12[SPEAKER_01]: Broncos Country is not a geographical location.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_01]: It truly is a state of being, and we have one of Broncos Country in South Florida.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_01]: Alyssa, thank you for weighing in here on MHI.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_01]: Look, this keeps the pressure off of the rookies, and that's just it.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe the public pressure, because if you're Sean Payton, if you're a guy playing on Shanton, Sean Payton's team, can you imagine the pressure that that man puts you under?
- 8:35[SPEAKER_01]: Part of me wondered when I was watching the bone-nix workout video the little mind-minute video where he talks about what it takes to be a quarterback what it takes to be a pro and showing you how he leads his summer dog days in July when nobody's watching when he doesn't have an entourage.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_01]: It's him and a him and a trainer.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_01]: I'm thinking I wonder Sean wants to know what Bose do it and they're sending film a bow to Sean, right?
- 8:56[SPEAKER_01]: He's got his Broncos bag.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_01]: It's just, I love it, man.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_01]: It's super exciting.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_01]: I think there's something to it.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_01]: There is nothing that's more pressure filled than a Sean Peyton meeting room, film room, or practice field.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_01]: If you can survive that, then you're likely to be a starter and have a career in the national football league.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, absolutely.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_04]: He's a very demanding coach and he, you know, he demands that perfection and, you know, you have to be because he's got a very complex offense.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_04]: So you've got to put the work in.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_04]: You can't be going home with blank video tapes and not watching them coming back and saying that you did.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_04]: So
- 9:32[SPEAKER_04]: If you remember the Jimark's Russell story where he just wasn't putting the work in, but yeah, so he's demanding and it shows.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, the team over achieved last year and part of that is because he was demanding more than the past coaches have at this Broncos team.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_01]: And I think Bonyx is on his way to being demanding like that.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_01]: You got to earn it.
- 9:53[SPEAKER_01]: And I think Bo realized that Sean has those pelts on the wall.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_01]: And everybody gets after Sean.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, Sean Peyton only has one Super Bowl ring.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_01]: That's pretty damn good.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_01]: Even Aaron Rodgers, right?
- 10:02[SPEAKER_01]: He's a complete nut.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_01]: He's got a Super Bowl ring.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_01]: He's a world champion.
- 10:06[SPEAKER_01]: You can't take that away from these guys.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_01]: They do have some pelts on the wall.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_01]: Now, it's not a license to be at your position for the rest of your career.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_01]: Sean needs to continue to earn it and earn that respect and it comes through wins.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_01]: Todd Austin, Dorf coming in over on YouTube.
- 10:21[SPEAKER_01]: What is up, Todd?
- 10:22[SPEAKER_01]: Hopefully you and yours are doing well.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_01]: Dre Greenlaw hurt, singleton hurt, who is playing inside linebacker.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_04]: Level Bailey for one.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_04]: He's been lightening it up out there and playing great.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_04]: So he's he's definitely going to be slotted in if if Green lawn single turn aren't going to go out there and play in this game.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_04]: So you'll see him probably be the starter.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_04]: And then, you know, after that probably sternat at this point, he's probably going to be the incumbent to jump in there and take some snaps.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_04]: But then you're going to see probably a mix of a lot of young guys getting out there playing, playing lineback.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, listen, I'm still real in from the Drew Sanders injury.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_01]: I'm pissed about it Tom.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_01]: I talk about it on this show all the time.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_01]: I am so sick of the Broncos projects.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_01]: What do I mean by projects on defense?
- 11:08[SPEAKER_01]: Let's convert editors, the linebackers and linebackers to editors and flip flop them every other year.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_01]: Then these injuries happen.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I think I saw Justin Holland signed today.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_01]: Remember that name?
- 11:19[SPEAKER_01]: with the Buffalo bills.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_01]: You should Broncos country.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_01]: He was drafted here in Denver.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_01]: Third, fourth round of memory serves.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he's going to went on and have a career.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_01]: It's not to say that the Broncos were better off without him or they really needed him.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_01]: But these conversions are just they're not working in Denver.
- 11:34[SPEAKER_01]: You need to draft the guy to his profile to his position.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_01]: When it comes to Drake Greenlaw,
- 11:40[SPEAKER_01]: Tom, you know it.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_01]: I love this man.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_01]: This man is going to change the identity of an already top five Denver defense.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_01]: He's mean.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_01]: He's pissed off.
- 11:50[SPEAKER_01]: And you know what, Tom?
- 11:51[SPEAKER_01]: He was never wanted.
- 11:53[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't realize that till I heard him speak into the microphone.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_01]: And adopted young man.
- 11:57[SPEAKER_01]: He talked about how it mattered when Sean Payton said, I want you.
- 12:01[SPEAKER_01]: We need you here in Denver.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_01]: And it was genuine.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_01]: I think Drake Greenlaw plays with his
- 12:06[SPEAKER_01]: heart on his pads quite literally, but you gotta stay healthy.
- 12:10[SPEAKER_01]: It's it's really tough.
- 12:11[SPEAKER_01]: When you look at Drager in law, having lower body issues, returning to camp, veteran rest days.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_01]: You just hope that the guy can be ready to go.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_01]: Come game season number one.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I hope so too because they need, they need him in a single sentence.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_04]: Well, I mean, I really like Bailey.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_04]: I think he's going to push him for that starting role, but it would be nice to have two season veterans to start the season at that linebacker spot and really kind of set the tone for the rest of the year.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_01]: I completely agree, man.
- 12:42[SPEAKER_01]: It's one of these things talking about set and tone.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_01]: That's a gray green line guy, right?
- 12:46[SPEAKER_01]: This is a bone mix.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_01]: These are the captains of your offense and of your defense presumably.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be interesting too.
- 12:52[SPEAKER_01]: Cortland Sutton's always in that mix, right?
- 12:54[SPEAKER_01]: We were just talking about Cortland Sutton getting paid a four year, ninety two million dollar contract extension.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_01]: Woo, and then Big Cat Zach Allen was right behind him.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_01]: Tom, it's been cool listening to the Mile High Huddle staff this last week.
- 13:07[SPEAKER_01]: I digest that four year, one hundred and two million dollar contract extension.
- 13:12[SPEAKER_01]: The guy had a career season eight and a half sack, sixty one tackles, second team all pro.
- 13:17[SPEAKER_01]: He absolutely deserved it.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_01]: Zach Allen talked to me four years, a hundred and two mill.
- 13:22[SPEAKER_01]: Was it worth it?
- 13:24[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, because he's still in his prime.
- 13:26[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, he's really kind of hitting that age where defensive tackles, defensive linemen really start to take off for the next three or four years.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_04]: And so I would say last year was kind of the beginning of that.
- 13:38[SPEAKER_04]: He's got a two or three more good years on his deal.
- 13:42[SPEAKER_04]: And it's going to start to wind down when he starts to wind down really.
- 13:46[SPEAKER_04]: I know that they can play a little bit longer, but that's the prime year.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_04]: So getting him signed
- 13:52[SPEAKER_04]: It's a good deal.
- 13:52[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, he got a lot of money, but for his talent and what he showed last year and what he's going to show the next couple of years, I think it's a pretty good deal.
- 14:01[SPEAKER_04]: It's a lot of money.
- 14:02[SPEAKER_04]: But, you know, looking at the quarterback hits from last year and the, the sacks, I think he's, he's a wrecking crew on that defense.
- 14:10[SPEAKER_04]: He's very much needed.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_04]: If you didn't have him, if there was some disgruntledness, or you let him walk next year, that defense would take a huge hit.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_01]: Speaking of taking a huge hit.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_01]: How about hitting us up?
- 14:24[SPEAKER_01]: What's up, Alyssa?
- 14:24[SPEAKER_01]: Let's welcome Alyssa to the Mile High Huddle Community Reppin Broncos Country out of South Florida.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_01]: Luke, what is your daughter play?
- 14:32[SPEAKER_01]: volleyball.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_01]: She's the absolute volleyball bug.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't care what sport you play.
- 14:36[SPEAKER_01]: If you've got kids go check out the nine minute bone mix workout video.
- 14:40[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I forget what it is called.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_01]: I got to find out what it was called.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe our lovely producer can look that up for me.
- 14:46[SPEAKER_01]: It's just one of those things for me, man, where I think Bonyx is such an authentic guy, and to hear him and see him doing the work, and he talks about it.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_01]: Nobody wants the in-between.
- 14:57[SPEAKER_01]: That's what it's called.
- 14:58[SPEAKER_01]: Bonyx, the in-between.
- 15:00[SPEAKER_01]: Huge thank you to Mr. Producer Manning on the ones and two.
- 15:04[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_01]: The, the in-between.
- 15:06[SPEAKER_01]: Nobody wants to see how the sausage is made.
- 15:09[SPEAKER_01]: You just want to get to enjoy it, right?
- 15:10[SPEAKER_01]: And get to the end of the process.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_01]: But I loved that bow talked specifically about will know if it was a good offseason, come the regular season.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_01]: Talking about how choice is sometimes an illusion.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, wow, at such a young age, this young man has an old soul and let's see if we could get a quick clip of one bow Chapman next.
- 15:38[SPEAKER_01]: Technical difficulties, one, two, one, two.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_01]: But here's the thing, man.
- 15:43[SPEAKER_01]: I don't care if you're a volleyball player, a softball player, basketball player, if you don't play any sport, if you're in choir, if you're in band, if you're an artist, if you're a musician, there's some level of competition, even within you.
- 15:56[SPEAKER_01]: There's some level of drive.
- 15:57[SPEAKER_01]: So when I saw that bone next to the in-between, I immediately wanted to go to my young athlete, my daughter, and say, look, this is a guy saying, no one wants to be out here in July, but we've got an option.
- 16:09[SPEAKER_01]: Do we want to waste the rep or do we want to make the most of it?
- 16:12[SPEAKER_01]: I don't care if you're a volleyball player basketball player, like I said, baseball player, whatever you do, I think it's pretty cool to see the next generation have such a much sure aspect to him.
- 16:22[SPEAKER_01]: He's wise behind his ears or beyond his ears, rather, and it made me excited, man, and I went through the comments, right?
- 16:28[SPEAKER_01]: And I could see people, season ticket holders, that we're gonna see out there at the meet and greet, right?
- 16:32[SPEAKER_01]: Saying, man, I've been this fired up for a Bronco season in a long time.
- 16:37[SPEAKER_01]: And can you blame him, Tom?
- 16:38[SPEAKER_01]: You've got Peyton frickin' manning.
- 16:41[SPEAKER_01]: taking talking about the Denver Broncos and saying, well, there's reason to be excited.
- 16:45[SPEAKER_01]: You've got Coach Sean Payton talking Super Bowl to Albert Brewer.
- 16:50[SPEAKER_01]: Man, expectations couldn't be higher for this year.
- 16:53[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm going to say this, and then Tom, I'm going to let you respond.
- 16:57[SPEAKER_01]: Since when is having expectations for a Super Bowl in the Mile High City a bad thing?
- 17:02[SPEAKER_01]: Do we want to be the quarterback carousel?
- 17:05[SPEAKER_01]: Do we want to be the head coaching carousel?
- 17:06[SPEAKER_01]: Do we want to go down the list of
- 17:08[SPEAKER_01]: failed quarterbacks.
- 17:09[SPEAKER_01]: No, we are moving forward.
- 17:11[SPEAKER_01]: This is the expectation.
- 17:13[SPEAKER_01]: No one saw the playoffs coming in twenty twenty four with Bowenix.
- 17:17[SPEAKER_01]: Nobody.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_01]: Nobody's going to see the Broncos coming to make a deep run in the playoffs here in twenty twenty five.
- 17:23[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and that's the goal that that should always be the goal.
- 17:25[SPEAKER_04]: And it was underpatible.
- 17:28[SPEAKER_04]: So there was always was Super Bowl or bust every year.
- 17:31[SPEAKER_04]: And he went out and helped facilitate that team so that they could make that make that their goal.
- 17:38[SPEAKER_04]: And then, you know, for several years after, twenty-fifteen, you could see it was shambles.
- 17:44[SPEAKER_04]: Nobody seemed to have that kind of goal and it showed out there on the field.
- 17:47[SPEAKER_04]: They were losing team.
- 17:49[SPEAKER_04]: But turn around.
- 17:51[SPEAKER_04]: Now you've got a good coach, got a good ownership, you've got a franchise quarterback.
- 17:55[SPEAKER_04]: It should be the goal.
- 17:56[SPEAKER_04]: Even if you are just one year removed from a losing season, if you have those three things, you are
- 18:04[SPEAKER_04]: You should have that goal.
- 18:05[SPEAKER_04]: If you have a franchise quarterback, a good head coach and great ownership, you should be making that year goal every season.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_04]: I don't see what's wrong with it.
- 18:14[SPEAKER_04]: And if they fall short, they fall short.
- 18:15[SPEAKER_04]: But that's the ultimate goal in this NFL league.
- 18:20[SPEAKER_04]: And if you don't, if you don't have it, you're just a perennial loser.
- 18:25[SPEAKER_01]: Perennial loser something we do not expect Botanix to be Diablo Bronco coming in great video from Botanix He's a bonafide athlete and again the video we are referencing Being so tired but I was also when I was a fest I've ever been so Every I'll see you know like to train on a track makes me feel fast But they also
- 18:54[SPEAKER_03]: He was made the same time.
- 18:57[SPEAKER_02]: I was actually talking to a Cortland son about this during a game.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_02]: It was end of a game.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_02]: It was kind of a tight game.
- 19:05[SPEAKER_02]: We kind of needed to drive.
- 19:06[SPEAKER_02]: We needed to go score.
- 19:07[SPEAKER_02]: And we were talking to each other and I told him, maybe a cycle path.
- 19:10[SPEAKER_02]: But I love these kind of moments.
- 19:11[SPEAKER_02]: I love when you don't have any other choice.
- 19:14[SPEAKER_02]: You have to go down the score.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_01]: a psychopath.
- 19:19[SPEAKER_01]: Your dinner block was to be one is addicted to hard work.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_01]: Remind you of anyone, Tom?
- 19:26[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, Peyton Manning comes to mind.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_04]: He was a very hard worker and he was always perfecting his craft.
- 19:32[SPEAKER_04]: So absolutely.
- 19:34[SPEAKER_01]: many thanks Chad, appreciate you pulling up that video.
- 19:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and speaking of Peyton Manning, here we go.
- 19:39[SPEAKER_01]: He said, quote, when you look at this team with Beau, the pieces they've added and with all of us expecting Sean to be around for a long time, they have every reason to believe it can result in a lot of wins, but they have to stay healthy.
- 19:54[SPEAKER_01]: Then you got Sean Peyton, we'll get to his comments, speaking to Yahoo, speaking to SI.
- 19:59[SPEAKER_01]: We'll talk all that more before we do.
- 20:01[SPEAKER_01]: Let's get up to some caught up, rather, to some super chats, including our good friend, film a goblin over on Facebook with those Facebook stars.
- 20:08[SPEAKER_01]: We appreciate all the donations.
- 20:10[SPEAKER_01]: Good evening, Thomas Luke and Diggins Scott.
- 20:12[SPEAKER_01]: How much should the vets play in the preseason and how many plays do the rookies get?
- 20:18[SPEAKER_04]: Well, I don't think the vets are going to play as much as we saw last year because I think they've established themselves on this team.
- 20:28[SPEAKER_04]: And there's not a lot of learning that's necessary in the pre-season where a lot of these starters or people that would play a big role had a lot of learning to do.
- 20:36[SPEAKER_04]: So you had Velay was young, you had bone nicks, you know, as a rookie, you had several positions that needed a little bit of extra playing time.
- 20:44[SPEAKER_04]: And you want to kind of have that with the players that they're going to be playing with.
- 20:48[SPEAKER_04]: But this year, I think everybody's pretty much established in the offense, in the defense, they know what's going on.
- 20:53[SPEAKER_04]: I think you're going to see less playing time for the vets, but you'll see some, but less.
- 20:57[SPEAKER_04]: And as they go into the regular season, just trying to keep them healthy.
- 21:02[SPEAKER_04]: I think you're going to get a lot of playing time out of the rookies, though.
- 21:05[SPEAKER_01]: big expectations are coming here in twenty twenty five jaron washington win and over on youtube what's up man thank you so much for joining mh i and your wins the night i only see us losing four games the eagles commanders chargers and Texans before games wow
- 21:24[SPEAKER_01]: A hell of a seat, right?
- 21:25[SPEAKER_01]: So that is a hell of a season for the Denver Broncos.
- 21:29[SPEAKER_01]: And speaking of those chargers, John Broncos Country, Tom.
- 21:33[SPEAKER_01]: Sure y'all saw it.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_01]: Keenan Allen is officially back in Los Angeles with the chargers, Justin Herbert.
- 21:40[SPEAKER_01]: Tom talked to me.
- 21:41[SPEAKER_01]: This AFC West is loaded with talent.
- 21:45[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it's going to be, it's going to be a rough go to ever wins the division.
- 21:49[SPEAKER_04]: And like I've always said, if you go foreign to in the division, you, you probably win this one, especially this year, because they're going to beat up on each other.
- 21:58[SPEAKER_04]: Someone who can get a sweep and be at least one time, everybody else in the division is going to take this, AFC West.
- 22:06[SPEAKER_04]: But it's going to be tough.
- 22:07[SPEAKER_04]: It's not going to be easy because the chargers, they're no pushover.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_04]: You got a good coach, good quarterback, pretty solid team.
- 22:13[SPEAKER_04]: Chiefs are the chiefs.
- 22:14[SPEAKER_04]: I know that the everybody's kind of predicting their downfall.
- 22:17[SPEAKER_04]: You got a half him coach and a lead quarterback.
- 22:19[SPEAKER_04]: That's, you know, that's good enough to win many games in this league.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_04]: So we'll see how it plays out.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_04]: But when they're done, whoever comes out on top is going to be battle tested for that playoff run.
- 22:32[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to be in battle tested.
- 22:33[SPEAKER_01]: Our guy Mike over in Kio coming in here.
- 22:35[SPEAKER_01]: He's always battle tested with the heat down there in Arizona thinking about your Michael.
- 22:40[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know how you do it, man.
- 22:41[SPEAKER_01]: Working outdoors every day.
- 22:43[SPEAKER_01]: Good evening, Thomas and Luke on the mile high insiders.
- 22:46[SPEAKER_01]: Go.
- 22:46[SPEAKER_01]: Bro Broncos and Mike has his uh, the wrong I should say has his number ten blue jersey ready to go.
- 22:54[SPEAKER_01]: The white jersey ready orange right.
- 22:56[SPEAKER_01]: We're ready to go and let us know which Broncos jersey you are ready to rock this season.
- 23:01[SPEAKER_01]: How many do you have?
- 23:02[SPEAKER_01]: Do you have superstitions?
- 23:03[SPEAKER_01]: Let us know over in the chat.
- 23:05[SPEAKER_01]: We will get out and get to you.
- 23:07[SPEAKER_01]: Tom, do you remember a couple weeks ago I asked you, Ben, I'm sometimes a sucker for things, for models, little things like that's the inner child in me and I asked you, what do you think a Sean Payton saying would be?
- 23:18[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I don't know if he spit this into the microphone, but I've noticed it watching players come up to the mic.
- 23:23[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of his Bronco players are wearing shirts that say, earn it.
- 23:27[SPEAKER_01]: on there.
- 23:28[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm wondering if that is the collective buy-in for the Denver Broncos in twenty twenty five.
- 23:33[SPEAKER_01]: You want to be a champion?
- 23:35[SPEAKER_01]: You want respect?
- 23:36[SPEAKER_01]: You want your do?
- 23:37[SPEAKER_01]: Two words.
- 23:38[SPEAKER_01]: Earn it.
- 23:39[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 23:40[SPEAKER_04]: And it should be.
- 23:41[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, because they haven't won anything yet.
- 23:43[SPEAKER_04]: It's been, it's been a long time since they won the Super Bowl.
- 23:46[SPEAKER_04]: It's been a long time since they've been really playoff contenders consistently.
- 23:50[SPEAKER_04]: So they went last year.
- 23:51[SPEAKER_04]: They're still more work to do.
- 23:53[SPEAKER_04]: And
- 23:54[SPEAKER_04]: They, you know, they've got to earn that respect.
- 23:57[SPEAKER_04]: They've got to beat the chiefs in order to take this AFC West.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_04]: They've got to earn that, you know, and they've, so I'm happy that that's, if that's their motto, that's what it is because you got to earn your place on the team.
- 24:09[SPEAKER_04]: You've got to earn those wins and you've got to earn those playout victories and ultimately earn that championship.
- 24:14[SPEAKER_04]: So I'm, I'm one hundred percent Biden.
- 24:17[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like I've heard this.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_01]: Is this true?
- 24:18[SPEAKER_01]: Botanics doesn't curse at all.
- 24:20[SPEAKER_01]: He's like, Phillip River.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_01]: Right?
- 24:25[SPEAKER_01]: Isn't that one of them, Phillip?
- 24:26[SPEAKER_01]: Gosh.
- 24:29[SPEAKER_01]: He's not like Phillip River.
- 24:31[SPEAKER_01]: He does not have one hundred and twenty-five children.
- 24:33[SPEAKER_01]: that he is getting ready to farm out.
- 24:36[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, that gumm it.
- 24:37[SPEAKER_01]: There we go.
- 24:40[SPEAKER_01]: That was one that instantly gave them mine.
- 24:42[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, yeah, I don't know, man.
- 24:44[SPEAKER_01]: I like both who he is.
- 24:46[SPEAKER_01]: I was even noticing the other day, right?
- 24:48[SPEAKER_01]: You just noticed things.
- 24:49[SPEAKER_01]: He wears like the old man shorts.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_01]: Right, like the old NBA, like, nineteen eighties where they're halfway.
- 24:54[SPEAKER_01]: But it doesn't care, man, both is himself and I love it.
- 24:59[SPEAKER_01]: And I think the Broncos have themselves a good one.
- 25:01[SPEAKER_01]: Tom, I'm a little suspicious, right?
- 25:04[SPEAKER_01]: And why am I a little suspicious?
- 25:06[SPEAKER_01]: Because the national media, I think has been overwhelmingly positive towards the Broncos here in twenty twenty five.
- 25:13[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you've got a few nut jobs like the Nick rights of the world, right?
- 25:17[SPEAKER_01]: And we talk about the
- 25:18[SPEAKER_01]: the Yahoo's over on ESPN till we're blue in the face, but you've got a lot of folks visiting Broncos camp, Albert Breard, Yahoo!
- 25:29[SPEAKER_01]: You've got all these different national medias, Chase Daniel, though the world, right?
- 25:33[SPEAKER_01]: Going down there walking away and pressed with what Sean Payton, Vance Joseph, and the Denver Broncos are building, what's going on Tom?
- 25:42[SPEAKER_01]: What's different here in twenty twenty-five?
- 25:45[SPEAKER_04]: Well, I mean, people that aren't haters, people that aren't biased, that actually can look at something objectively, are seeing a great defense in the making.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_04]: Obviously, they have to go out there and earn it, but they were a really good defense last year and they've got better.
- 26:01[SPEAKER_04]: They've got a second year rookie quarterback who looks like the guy, the franchise guy, and they got better in the spots that they really need to get better it.
- 26:10[SPEAKER_04]: They had to go out and get a running back situation that was better than last year.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_04]: They did that.
- 26:15[SPEAKER_04]: They had to get a tie-dend who could actually make something happen.
- 26:19[SPEAKER_04]: They went out and got a tie-dend.
- 26:21[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to stop you right there.
- 26:23[SPEAKER_01]: How do we automatically know that the running back room has been improved?
- 26:26[SPEAKER_01]: This is a paper tiger Tom right now you're surprised running back as it sits today.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_01]: Not being facetious and being serious.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_01]: The reality, Tom, listen up.
- 26:37[SPEAKER_01]: As it says today, your guy, Quadzilla, you know, the second round running back that Sean Peyton just had to have traded down what twice, five, ten, fifteen times to go get this guy.
- 26:49[SPEAKER_01]: He is not the bottom of the barrel today.
- 26:53[SPEAKER_01]: And you're telling me that the running back room is instantly improved.
- 26:58[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 26:59[SPEAKER_01]: JK Dobbins.
- 27:00[SPEAKER_01]: It's a nice piece, but are we saying this is the next Baltimore Ravens backfield here?
- 27:06[SPEAKER_04]: Well, what I'm going to tell you is it has to get better because it can't get much worse than last year.
- 27:13[SPEAKER_04]: Last year was really, really bad.
- 27:15[SPEAKER_04]: You had your quarterback as the leading rusher.
- 27:17[SPEAKER_04]: So it has to be improved.
- 27:19[SPEAKER_04]: And I know Harvey's buried on the depth chart, but that's the technicality you see here.
- 27:25[SPEAKER_04]: If you go out there and you watch him run, he's definitely not the worst running back on the team.
- 27:29[SPEAKER_04]: JK Dobbins hasn't his problem is staying healthy.
- 27:32[SPEAKER_04]: So if he can stay healthy, when you look at it on paper, and that's all you can look at right now unless you're out there training camp really watching it.
- 27:40[SPEAKER_04]: So you got better at the spots you need to get better at.
- 27:43[SPEAKER_04]: So if you're if you're an objective observer, you're not a super fan of the Broncos, you're not a heater.
- 27:49[SPEAKER_04]: You're going to come away and press with what they've done to this team.
- 27:53[SPEAKER_04]: Now can that not
- 27:55[SPEAKER_04]: happen can there be some bad luck in the season and they don't to fill their you know what they really want to do sure but when you're starting out looking at this team from a objective point of view they've gotten much better and they went to the playoffs and went you know they'd lost in the press but no unexpected that so that's why I think the national media is kind of jumping on the bus right now because they they know really what's up they've got they can see it with their own eyes if they're if they have any object ability whatsoever
- 28:25[SPEAKER_01]: Speaking about being objective, Tom, I'm, I'm trying to do it, right?
- 28:28[SPEAKER_01]: The season's the corner, so it's time to buckle up a little bit and lock down, so to speak.
- 28:35[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if you saw it.
- 28:36[SPEAKER_01]: Your guy Luke Wattberg, was it the podium the other day, right?
- 28:41[SPEAKER_01]: Luke on Luke crying.
- 28:42[SPEAKER_01]: You can hear on Wednesday nights here on MHI, but I'm not going to do it this season.
- 28:46[SPEAKER_01]: I am willing to give Luke Walkenburg another shot.
- 28:49[SPEAKER_01]: Why?
- 28:50[SPEAKER_01]: Because Sean Peyton refuses to go any other route.
- 28:55[SPEAKER_01]: Listen, Sean gave a ton of credit to Luke Walkenburg and can read about it over at myhotel.com.
- 29:01[SPEAKER_01]: I can't remember if it's Eric Chatter Zach has an article up on it right now.
- 29:05[SPEAKER_01]: It was reading it this morning.
- 29:07[SPEAKER_01]: It's
- 29:08[SPEAKER_01]: encouraging to hear Coach talk about how much more confident Luke Wattenburg is, how intelligent he is as a center.
- 29:15[SPEAKER_01]: It's encouraging here Luke Wattenburg talk about his hat placement in drills, getting better leverage, understanding the playbook, talking about the guys next to him.
- 29:25[SPEAKER_01]: That's one thing he continued to bring up.
- 29:27[SPEAKER_01]: And that's one thing that's gonna go very well in the offensive line room, right?
- 29:31[SPEAKER_01]: Talking about how well and comfortable you feel with your guys.
- 29:34[SPEAKER_01]: He's flanked by some monsters.
- 29:36[SPEAKER_01]: In Quinn minor, some Ben powers.
- 29:38[SPEAKER_01]: You got Mike McLean, she and Garrett Bulls.
- 29:40[SPEAKER_01]: Tom, you've said it before.
- 29:41[SPEAKER_01]: This Broncos offensive line.
- 29:43[SPEAKER_01]: One of the highest rated offensive lines in the NFL.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_01]: What do you expect out of Luke Wattenberg?
- 29:49[SPEAKER_01]: This is a contract year for the guy.
- 29:51[SPEAKER_01]: You an acre break year.
- 29:52[SPEAKER_01]: If you want to be here for Sean Payton's Denver Broncos offense, playing with bone nicks.
- 29:58[SPEAKER_04]: Well, just when the center start to get good, they seem to let him sign elsewhere.
- 30:02[SPEAKER_04]: So the last time it was cushioned fairly finally came into his own and then he was gone the next year.
- 30:08[SPEAKER_04]: Pairdy's was a pretty good player and then he was gone pretty soon after.
- 30:12[SPEAKER_04]: So if you follow along that course, you should expect what bird to be good this year, it only to sign elsewhere.
- 30:18[SPEAKER_04]: But the fact of the matter is he was still a young player.
- 30:21[SPEAKER_04]: He didn't get that much playing time.
- 30:23[SPEAKER_04]: Now he's got a full year under his belt.
- 30:26[SPEAKER_04]: The same offensive line is all together again.
- 30:30[SPEAKER_04]: If he wasn't better this year, then I would be extremely disappointed.
- 30:34[SPEAKER_04]: He should be better.
- 30:35[SPEAKER_04]: Now is he going to be an all pro better?
- 30:37[SPEAKER_04]: I doubt it.
- 30:39[SPEAKER_04]: But is he going to be improved?
- 30:41[SPEAKER_04]: And this offensive line is going to be better because of it.
- 30:43[SPEAKER_04]: I absolutely see that.
- 30:45[SPEAKER_01]: Listen, PFF guy can get at me, bro.
- 30:48[SPEAKER_01]: Over on X strider, everything else.
- 30:50[SPEAKER_01]: Luke Onberg was the boy created, blah, blah, blah.
- 30:53[SPEAKER_01]: Only give up this many shocks.
- 30:55[SPEAKER_01]: Blah, blah, blah.
- 30:56[SPEAKER_01]: That's fine.
- 30:57[SPEAKER_01]: FFF is a very nice resource, and I'm willing to hear that argument.
- 31:00[SPEAKER_01]: But you can't tell me when you turned on the tape, when you chart the plays, when you look at the Broncos interior offensive line.
- 31:06[SPEAKER_01]: And I'll be the first to tell you, Tom, I'm not a QB guru.
- 31:09[SPEAKER_01]: I don't hold passing academies.
- 31:11[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not going to make your son a college quarterback, none of those things.
- 31:15[SPEAKER_01]: But I love to study the trenches.
- 31:17[SPEAKER_01]: And I love to look at LB's, O'Line and D-Line.
- 31:20[SPEAKER_01]: And when I saw Luke Wattenberg playing last year, I saw Struggling Player.
- 31:24[SPEAKER_01]: And maybe confidence was a huge part of that.
- 31:26[SPEAKER_01]: Settling in the Sean Payton's offense a little bit more.
- 31:29[SPEAKER_01]: talked about not having a competition where he's looking over shoulder trying to figure out if he's going to be benched or cut.
- 31:34[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 31:35[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, there's something to that.
- 31:36[SPEAKER_01]: I get it.
- 31:37[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm willing to give Luke Washington another shot.
- 31:40[SPEAKER_01]: I'm definitely trying still to let last year go at Arrowhead.
- 31:45[SPEAKER_01]: I put that on Luke Wattenberg.
- 31:46[SPEAKER_01]: A lot.
- 31:47[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 31:48[SPEAKER_01]: That.
- 31:48[SPEAKER_01]: That miss happened on the field goal unit in Arrowhead that would have
- 31:53[SPEAKER_01]: snap to the losing streak in Kansas City.
- 31:55[SPEAKER_01]: It's onwards and upwards with this Broncos offensive line.
- 31:59[SPEAKER_01]: Talk to me a little bit about preseason game number one.
- 32:01[SPEAKER_01]: Broncos forty-nineers.
- 32:03[SPEAKER_01]: What do you expect in this preseason game?
- 32:04[SPEAKER_01]: Because when I look at the on paper story lines right and I'm getting very excited for the upcoming season, that's usually when we get keys to victory, takeaways, studs and duds, risers, fallers, all kinds of fun content that you can get exclusively here at mahahuddle.com.
- 32:21[SPEAKER_01]: There's some interesting storylines, but I don't know how to play out.
- 32:24[SPEAKER_01]: You've got a lot of forty Niners, former forty Niners with the Broncos returning to the Bay, and I'm talking about who Funga, Greenlaw, Maglinti, DJ Jones.
- 32:34[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, these are just four or five guys that used to be San Francisco, uh, preseason game number one.
- 32:39[SPEAKER_01]: Do they get up for it?
- 32:40[SPEAKER_01]: Do they play?
- 32:43[SPEAKER_04]: Well, I'm not going to expect green lot of play.
- 32:45[SPEAKER_04]: I think he'll probably be resting.
- 32:48[SPEAKER_04]: If the rest of them play a little, it's going to be very short in that first preseason game.
- 32:53[SPEAKER_04]: What I really expect is some, you know, a little bit of starter play and then they're going to play folks a lot that they may be
- 33:02[SPEAKER_04]: thinking about trading, and I'm talking about a name like the Mary Mathes.
- 33:07[SPEAKER_04]: He's going to get a lot of playing time in that game.
- 33:10[SPEAKER_04]: Some folks that they're like, let's see what he can do out there, get some teams interested, because that's a log jam there in corner back.
- 33:17[SPEAKER_04]: So do they get something for Mathes?
- 33:19[SPEAKER_04]: Folks like that.
- 33:20[SPEAKER_04]: That's, and I think that's why he's sucking on the depth chart, too, because they, you know, one, he said, he's an okay player, but can they get, can he be that?
- 33:28[SPEAKER_04]: kind of lasted the trade, you know, preseason guys that we've seen the last couple of years where we saw Tim Patrick getting traded and I can't, there was someone else that can't remember now off top of my head, but getting traded the last minute, turning to Benson, maybe he's that guy.
- 33:45[SPEAKER_04]: So I think you're going to see a lot of those, a lot of those kind of, why is he playing so much type of people, but that might be why.
- 33:53[SPEAKER_01]: So Todd's coming in and trade tomorrow and math is for an inside line back there.
- 33:57[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's interesting and everybody coming out.
- 34:00[SPEAKER_01]: I thought it was Alex foresight.
- 34:02[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it was Alex foresight on the on block field.
- 34:04[SPEAKER_01]: Well, you're right.
- 34:05[SPEAKER_01]: And my was wrong.
- 34:06[SPEAKER_01]: I'm mistaken about that.
- 34:07[SPEAKER_01]: However, remember in that same series in that same sequence, wasn't it Luke Wartberg picked up a penalty or two, right?
- 34:14[SPEAKER_01]: Made things just a little bit more difficult for your rookie quarterback and arrowhead same series.
- 34:18[SPEAKER_01]: go back and look it up.
- 34:19[SPEAKER_01]: I do apologize.
- 34:20[SPEAKER_01]: I appreciate Broncos country.
- 34:21[SPEAKER_01]: You got to stay on me, folks.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_01]: I'm a little bit a little bit out of it.
- 34:24[SPEAKER_01]: Some interesting things happening over here in my neck of the woods.
- 34:28[SPEAKER_01]: But I really, really appreciate everybody, Broncos country again.
- 34:30[SPEAKER_01]: Man, the most knowledgeable fan base in the NFL.
- 34:33[SPEAKER_01]: They keep us on our toes.
- 34:34[SPEAKER_01]: Every Wednesday night, we are reacting to the unofficial depth chart.
- 34:39[SPEAKER_01]: We can talk Sean Payton's bold predictions for twenty twenty five.
- 34:42[SPEAKER_01]: How about this, Tom, to read about this over at milehigh.
- 34:44[SPEAKER_01]: How to calm.
- 34:46[SPEAKER_01]: Sean Payton's quotes are making waves all throughout the NFL.
- 34:51[SPEAKER_01]: You can read about the extra extra read all about it.
- 34:54[SPEAKER_01]: Just type Sean Payton into the Google machine and you're going to come up with this.
- 34:58[SPEAKER_01]: If you told SIs Albert Rear quote, I honestly think Bonyx is going to be one of the
- 35:05[SPEAKER_01]: Top quarterbacks within the next two years.
- 35:08[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to be a superstar.
- 35:11[SPEAKER_01]: Turn that around.
- 35:13[SPEAKER_01]: Goes right on over to Yahoo doubles down says, quote, this is a team capable of winning the Super Bowl.
- 35:20[SPEAKER_01]: I've coached six teams that I thought could win the Super Bowl.
- 35:24[SPEAKER_01]: Some went to championship games, some to the playoffs.
- 35:27[SPEAKER_01]: This is my seventh team that I think has that.
- 35:31[SPEAKER_01]: Tom, what was the missing link?
- 35:33[SPEAKER_01]: You talk about running back.
- 35:35[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, running back needs to improve immensely.
- 35:38[SPEAKER_01]: So does the running game as a whole.
- 35:39[SPEAKER_01]: So you take pressure off of Bonyx.
- 35:41[SPEAKER_01]: How much do you think the wide receivers have changed Sean Payton's offense?
- 35:45[SPEAKER_01]: How much do you think they've changed the identity of the passing game?
- 35:49[SPEAKER_01]: How are they going to help Bonyx?
- 35:51[SPEAKER_01]: Because Eric broke it down in an article today over at myhello.com.
- 35:55[SPEAKER_01]: asking the question, who are going to be the odd men out in the wide receiver room?
- 35:58[SPEAKER_01]: First five or six are pretty, pretty well set, right?
- 36:01[SPEAKER_01]: You've got the courtland Sutton's of the world, Marvin, Marvin Mims, Devonne Bailey, Troy Franklin, Pat Bryant, having a very good training camp.
- 36:09[SPEAKER_01]: Then you've got Newton, Rowan, Bandie, Jackson, Davis, all these lesser known guys who are fighting like hell to make this roster and or practice squad.
- 36:20[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and Bandie from what I understand is having a heck of a training camp too.
- 36:23[SPEAKER_04]: So you've got, you've got people out there who are playing hard because they know that this is a good team and they're going to have a hard time making it.
- 36:31[SPEAKER_04]: And that's why they're out there playing really hard.
- 36:33[SPEAKER_04]: Whereas, you know, go back four years, you didn't have a lot of talent on this team and it was a little bit easier for some of these folks who weren't as good to make the team and it showed up on the field with losses.
- 36:44[SPEAKER_04]: But that's not the case this year.
- 36:46[SPEAKER_04]: And when you hear Sean Peyton talk about that, Cyril, and you asked me a question, what was the missing link?
- 36:51[SPEAKER_04]: He said it before.
- 36:54[SPEAKER_04]: Bo Nix is a better quarterback.
- 36:55[SPEAKER_04]: He is their franchise guy.
- 36:57[SPEAKER_04]: He believes in him, and that's why he believes that they're a Super Bowl contender.
- 37:00[SPEAKER_04]: If he didn't have a quarterback, he wouldn't be saying that.
- 37:02[SPEAKER_04]: So I think that is what it is.
- 37:05[SPEAKER_04]: He saw what he could do as a rookie.
- 37:06[SPEAKER_04]: He knows how hard he's work.
- 37:07[SPEAKER_04]: He's washing and training camp.
- 37:09[SPEAKER_04]: He knows you know he's gotten better.
- 37:11[SPEAKER_04]: That's why he's saying those things because he thinks he has that elite quarterback.
- 37:14[SPEAKER_04]: And I don't think he's just saying that because he drafted in the first round.
- 37:17[SPEAKER_04]: I think he really believes it because he wouldn't be out there saying it in my mind if he didn't think that.
- 37:22[SPEAKER_04]: So that's one.
- 37:24[SPEAKER_04]: Number two, I think I think he believes that there's somebody else on the offense that's going to make an impact.
- 37:32[SPEAKER_04]: One of the wider receivers, like MIMS, has gotten so much better, or maybe he thinks that the combination of Bryant and Dobbins is that kind of impact player that he wanted to have on this team that was kind of missing on the offense last year.
- 37:47[SPEAKER_04]: So I think those are the two things that he's looking at that we may not have the knowledge of that's giving him that confidence.
- 37:54[SPEAKER_01]: One how about Troy Franklin who's putting together a very good training camp in his own right right I mean nice problems to have when you look at the new wide receiver room for your Denver Broncos it's exciting there's been a lot of change and there's a lot of one action I think to happen in the preseason this is where you see guys either make or break their preseason flash training camps and
- 38:15[SPEAKER_01]: It's gonna be really, really fun to see.
- 38:17[SPEAKER_01]: Preseason game number one on Saturday, Broncos heading to face the Bang, Bang, Niner gang out in the Bay Area of San Francisco.
- 38:25[SPEAKER_01]: Gene Williams coming in over on Facebook.
- 38:28[SPEAKER_01]: What is up, Gene?
- 38:29[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you so much for all the support.
- 38:31[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate you.
- 38:32[SPEAKER_01]: What's up, man?
- 38:33[SPEAKER_01]: I can't hang out, but I had to drop in and say, what is up?
- 38:37[SPEAKER_01]: go Broncos it's that time of year my friends football is back in the mile high city Broncos country we're going to take you through an exciting season here at mile high huddle we have a lot of fun content plans especially for this show here on MHI every Wednesday night we're going to be using some
- 38:54[SPEAKER_01]: fun new tools including gridironintelligence.com head on over check it out and get at us the wrong coming back around over on Facebook appreciate you big Mike I read that the San Francisco forty-nine players are playing a little bit hurt because their training camp has been practicing just a little bit too hard
- 39:15[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, that's interesting.
- 39:16[SPEAKER_01]: A tough Shanahan training camp.
- 39:18[SPEAKER_01]: Where does that sound familiar?
- 39:20[SPEAKER_01]: It's in terms of its fortune, too, right, Mike?
- 39:22[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, the Broncos have been part of that time.
- 39:24[SPEAKER_01]: You and I have been there on days where I was there both days, Tim Patrick went down almost a year ago to the date, right?
- 39:30[SPEAKER_01]: And it's eerie.
- 39:31[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes it's bad luck.
- 39:32[SPEAKER_01]: It's not like there was anything wrong with the grass, right?
- 39:35[SPEAKER_01]: It's not like the maintenance keepers over there, work doing their job.
- 39:38[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes you just get snake bitten a little bit.
- 39:41[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, I'm a little worried Tom, things have been going relatively okay.
- 39:45[SPEAKER_01]: Over there at Broncos HQ, I know our linebacker rooms are a little banged up right now, but hey, so far as it sits, August six, things are looking healthy for Denver.
- 39:56[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, absolutely.
- 39:57[SPEAKER_04]: And it has to continue because that's the greatest equalizer in the NFL.
- 40:02[SPEAKER_04]: You've got a great team, but if you're unhealthy, then you're not going anywhere.
- 40:05[SPEAKER_04]: And a lesser team will beat you.
- 40:07[SPEAKER_04]: So let's hope that they stay healthy and they have been relatively healthy.
- 40:11[SPEAKER_04]: They've now taken some chances on some folks who haven't been able to stay healthy through their careers.
- 40:17[SPEAKER_04]: So hopefully that doesn't come back to bite them.
- 40:19[SPEAKER_04]: But yeah, I mean, it's interesting to think about training camp and preseason and just
- 40:26[SPEAKER_04]: the balance that you have to have with pushing them hard enough but not too hard so that they start to get injuries.
- 40:34[SPEAKER_04]: It's one of those things that you've got to be really mindful of and actually really experienced with, I think, in order to make that happen correctly.
- 40:46[SPEAKER_01]: Speaking of experience, let's talk about some players that we wanna see play on Saturday, get some experience, get some valuable reps.
- 40:52[SPEAKER_01]: I'm looking at one of your guys, Tom, you called it earlier, I'll give you a little credit, I see it being your chest over there on X, like you love to do, right?
- 41:00[SPEAKER_01]: It was a Reke.
- 41:01[SPEAKER_01]: You were high on that man, this is the time for a preseason game, no better chance to get your stride back, get your game back a little bit than in some preseason action.
- 41:10[SPEAKER_01]: What do you expect out of a wasa Reke who's having a pretty decent camp?
- 41:15[SPEAKER_04]: I would like to see him being able to slide around all over the line because that's going to get.
- 41:21[SPEAKER_04]: If he's going to be able to play the nose and both ends, I think that's going to solidify his spot.
- 41:26[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I know they like him.
- 41:28[SPEAKER_04]: I know that they like his size.
- 41:29[SPEAKER_04]: They like his athleticism.
- 41:31[SPEAKER_04]: They've kept him around.
- 41:33[SPEAKER_04]: If he can show that he can line up anywhere, I think that solidifies his spot on the team and early into the rotation as well.
- 41:42[SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, that's what I'm going to be looking for the most out of him on during the preseason game.
- 41:49[SPEAKER_01]: Oh no, string guys coming in here making this big head even bigger.
- 41:53[SPEAKER_01]: Luke and Ultimate Mile High Insider.
- 41:56[SPEAKER_01]: Tell us who's going to win the wide receiver tube battle coming out of training camp.
- 42:01[SPEAKER_01]: Ooh, that's an interesting question and I could be podcast radio guy and give you the standard answer.
- 42:08[SPEAKER_01]: Look at the unofficial depth chart string guy.
- 42:10[SPEAKER_01]: It's clearly Marvin Mims.
- 42:12[SPEAKER_01]: Wait a second, not all wide receivers are created equal.
- 42:16[SPEAKER_01]: Remember, that slot position has Marvin Mim's name all over it.
- 42:20[SPEAKER_01]: I think Troy Franklin can play quite well in the slot as well.
- 42:23[SPEAKER_01]: Even some of these younger guys, like we're talking about a new, new Rowan bandy, they're going to the versatility at the wide receiver position has to be there.
- 42:31[SPEAKER_01]: If you're a Denver Broncos wide out, Sean Payton's going to command a variety of formations of a variety of motions.
- 42:37[SPEAKER_01]: He's got these new little wrinkles that he's been working on all winter, but you just know he wants to put together and these young guys are expected to know it.
- 42:45[SPEAKER_01]: A wide receiver too, a true wide receiver too, what does the Vaughn Valley look like in his sophomore season, right?
- 42:51[SPEAKER_01]: Trailed off a little bit there in the season.
- 42:53[SPEAKER_01]: We're all wondering, I know that he had some load management, but he came back in, right?
- 42:58[SPEAKER_01]: It's a practice.
- 43:00[SPEAKER_01]: What is his preseason look like?
- 43:01[SPEAKER_01]: You're going to try to get your stride back a little bit.
- 43:03[SPEAKER_01]: Pat Bryant seems to be the era parent to Portland Sutton.
- 43:07[SPEAKER_01]: That is so painfully obvious to everybody in Broncos country.
- 43:12[SPEAKER_01]: It's just exciting to be at this point string guy where we've got enough Broncos wide receivers to talk about having competitions, but they're different.
- 43:21[SPEAKER_01]: You've got your shorter faster guys.
- 43:23[SPEAKER_01]: You've got your long string means.
- 43:25[SPEAKER_01]: And then you've got your big dogs, like Portland Sutton.
- 43:28[SPEAKER_01]: A Devon Bailey, who I hope's been in the way it room.
- 43:30[SPEAKER_01]: I need Devon Bailey to add weight desperately because I think he can get up there and get those fifty-fifty balls.
- 43:36[SPEAKER_01]: But when you look at Portland Sutton in his strength, that's something Tom that I think I overlook a lot of.
- 43:41[SPEAKER_01]: What helps him win better than body placement, better than being a good basketball player, his strength.
- 43:47[SPEAKER_01]: Portland Sutton's upper body and lower body strength are phenomenal.
- 43:50[SPEAKER_01]: I'm looking for that in one Pat Bryan as well.
- 43:53[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, if I was going to jump in and say right now, who I think is going to be the number two, I'd receive her throughout the season.
- 43:59[SPEAKER_04]: It's Marvin Mims.
- 44:01[SPEAKER_04]: I think that he has what this team needs as far as creating something that the other wider receivers have not been able to do or wasn't it?
- 44:11[SPEAKER_04]: We weren't really able to do last season.
- 44:14[SPEAKER_04]: He's got that elusiveness.
- 44:15[SPEAKER_04]: He's got the speed.
- 44:16[SPEAKER_04]: He seems like he could create something big.
- 44:20[SPEAKER_04]: But that hinges on did he improve after, as he improved last year, did he make even another step this season?
- 44:28[SPEAKER_04]: That's why I'm going to go with Marvin Mims on that.
- 44:30[SPEAKER_04]: I think he's your number two and you're going to see some fireworks at him this year.
- 44:34[SPEAKER_04]: More than you've seen, you know, some not obviously he's great on special teams.
- 44:38[SPEAKER_04]: I'm talking about in the offense, you're going to see a much better Marvin Mims.
- 44:43[SPEAKER_01]: Tom, I've been thinking about you because I missed, right?
- 44:46[SPEAKER_01]: Some shows here this summer here on Image Island.
- 44:48[SPEAKER_01]: I'm always eager to get back to you and Broncos come to you on Wednesday nights because we have a lot of fun here on this show just like we do every show at six p.m.
- 44:55[SPEAKER_01]: Mountain.
- 44:56[SPEAKER_01]: I was thinking about you during the Hall of Fame.
- 44:58[SPEAKER_01]: I was thinking about you specifically when Jared Allen ripped his pants.
- 45:03[SPEAKER_01]: That may have been one of the best Hall of Fame's beats moments.
- 45:07[SPEAKER_01]: Of all time, I absolutely loved it.
- 45:09[SPEAKER_01]: It was a fantastic speech as well.
- 45:11[SPEAKER_01]: We don't need to go into it.
- 45:13[SPEAKER_01]: But Hallfayne game in the books, the Hallfayne class in the books, Tom, I know you've got friends.
- 45:18[SPEAKER_01]: You're very connected to getting Broncos into the Hall of Fame.
- 45:22[SPEAKER_01]: You're very worthy cause.
- 45:24[SPEAKER_01]: Are you very humble about it?
- 45:25[SPEAKER_01]: So I'll do the bragging for you.
- 45:27[SPEAKER_01]: But I guess my first question for you, Tom, before we get to Todd.
- 45:30[SPEAKER_01]: Did you see Jared Allen, Rip is pants?
- 45:32[SPEAKER_04]: No, I didn't.
- 45:34[SPEAKER_04]: I didn't see River's pants.
- 45:36[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I was, I was a little bit more checked out on this Hall of Fame.
- 45:40[SPEAKER_04]: One because there was, you know, Broncos got snubbed this time and there wasn't anybody that was super excited about.
- 45:45[SPEAKER_04]: So I kind of did some other things unfortunately.
- 45:48[SPEAKER_04]: I did think about going.
- 45:50[SPEAKER_04]: No, I thought about going to the Hall of Fame, you know, and, you know, just hanging out and doing it, but I think I will hopefully next year and I hope a Broncos getting in.
- 45:58[SPEAKER_04]: No, I missed it.
- 45:59[SPEAKER_04]: I missed the, the pants ripping.
- 46:02[SPEAKER_01]: It was, it was the bummer man.
- 46:03[SPEAKER_01]: I, I loved watching Jared Allen the second.
- 46:06[SPEAKER_01]: He left the AFC West.
- 46:08[SPEAKER_01]: When he was with the Kansas City Chiefs, because he raised a lot of hell, man.
- 46:12[SPEAKER_01]: He was, he was one of those tri-hard players.
- 46:14[SPEAKER_01]: I'll always kind of know him as the Minnesota Viking player that he was, right?
- 46:17[SPEAKER_01]: Between no eight and thirteen.
- 46:19[SPEAKER_01]: I know he spent some time with the Bears and one last step with the Panthers, but
- 46:22[SPEAKER_01]: getting to Todd's question, this where I'm circling back, right?
- 46:25[SPEAKER_01]: I started thinking about former NFL grades, made me think about the Hall of Fame ceremonies, the Hall of Fame game, all that fun stuff, Todd Austin, North coming in near better software year.
- 46:35[SPEAKER_01]: John L.A.
- 46:37[SPEAKER_01]: Peyton Manning, or Bo Chapman next.
- 46:43[SPEAKER_04]: Well, always rookie season was so bad that it was only up from there.
- 46:49[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, Bonaix has one of the best rookie seasons of all time if you start to look at, you know, his stats and things like that.
- 46:56[SPEAKER_04]: So for me, Bonaix will improve and it will look great, but the gap that L.A.
- 47:03[SPEAKER_04]: and Manning ended up having in, you know, from their terrible seasons, I think
- 47:09[SPEAKER_04]: going to be a little bit better than than the gap between Bownex's rookie season and sophomore season, but Manning had it, you know, he went from being a pretty crummy rookie, not an awful, but he had a pretty rough season to being an excellent quarterback, you know, right away.
- 47:26[SPEAKER_04]: And I think I saw, I would go from those who I'm going with Manning as the better sophomore year.
- 47:31[SPEAKER_01]: Man, man.
- 47:32[SPEAKER_01]: at Touchdown's Fifteen Interceptions.
- 47:35[SPEAKER_01]: It looks like the Duke of Denver, John L. way, put up eighteen touchdowns, fifteen interceptions.
- 47:42[SPEAKER_01]: Remember, stats don't tell the whole story.
- 47:44[SPEAKER_01]: It's why we're not just married to one resource here in my hotel.
- 47:48[SPEAKER_01]: We got them all over.
- 47:48[SPEAKER_01]: And if you're looking for new stats, if you're looking for something different, if you're looking for a new truth in the statistical analytic world,
- 47:54[SPEAKER_01]: Head on over to gridironintelligence.com.
- 47:56[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to be using this Tom's been working on this for many a moon and it's going to be really exciting to see what his team rolls out.
- 48:02[SPEAKER_01]: We will be utilizing it here on MHI and MHH.
- 48:08[SPEAKER_01]: For me, let's think about this here.
- 48:11[SPEAKER_01]: Elway, Manning, or Botanix.
- 48:13[SPEAKER_01]: I don't even want to put Botanix in there.
- 48:14[SPEAKER_01]: It's exciting, right?
- 48:15[SPEAKER_01]: I know we alluded to who does that sound like?
- 48:18[SPEAKER_01]: A demanding quarterback that loves the work, right?
- 48:21[SPEAKER_01]: It sounds like Peyton, and there are a lot of things that we can definitely describe similarities between these three.
- 48:27[SPEAKER_01]: But to get in that conversation, you need to do some damage.
- 48:30[SPEAKER_01]: And he had a very good rookie season.
- 48:32[SPEAKER_01]: I truly think that Bo and Sean are cut from the same cloth and Sean loves to remind everybody, whether it be in the Denver media, his players, fans, whoever he speaks to last year is a wrap.
- 48:44[SPEAKER_01]: No more.
- 48:45[SPEAKER_01]: And the most reminiscent thing, the most similar thing that you will see this season to last year happen today.
- 48:52[SPEAKER_01]: The unofficial depth chart where you pretty much have the incumbents back at the starting position pretending that rookies aren't here.
- 48:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you've got some free agents right you've got the who fun goes the green lawns of the world coming in here.
- 49:04[SPEAKER_01]: You've got Evan Ingram and we're going to get to the tight end room here in just a second right but.
- 49:08[SPEAKER_01]: When you look at the paper tiger today of the unofficial depth chart, that's it.
- 49:12[SPEAKER_01]: It's the last remnants of twenty twenty four.
- 49:14[SPEAKER_01]: It's a new season.
- 49:15[SPEAKER_01]: And I truly believe that boat for boat.
- 49:17[SPEAKER_01]: It's on or an upward.
- 49:19[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think his ego will get in his way like some other second year quarterback in Chicago.
- 49:25[SPEAKER_01]: who are gonna have a human problem, and who are throwing his he fits.
- 49:29[SPEAKER_01]: How about that?
- 49:30[SPEAKER_01]: Did you see that?
- 49:31[SPEAKER_01]: You see your guy Caleb Williams out there throwing his head.
- 49:38[SPEAKER_01]: You said we're gonna start painting nails on Wednesday night.
- 49:42[SPEAKER_01]: No, but your guys throwing fits about horrible accuracy and look, I sometimes these drill suck and you catch a guy on a bat day, but throwing the little hissy fit that he did, man, little
- 49:54[SPEAKER_01]: A bad talk about a bad look.
- 49:56[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, no, I mean, you've got to have a mature quarterback who's, you know, going to make it through some rough spots.
- 50:03[SPEAKER_04]: And that was, when we were talking about Caleb Williams, that's what I was worried about is can he make it through the rough times?
- 50:08[SPEAKER_04]: We know we can make it through the good times, but can he make it through the rough times?
- 50:11[SPEAKER_04]: I know, Bo, next can make it through the rough times.
- 50:13[SPEAKER_04]: Cause some do it.
- 50:15[SPEAKER_04]: He struggled the first four games terribly and just kept getting better and better.
- 50:19[SPEAKER_04]: So he had a broken back at the end of the season from that little buddy knew about and he had a little bit.
- 50:26[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah, so that's, you know, that's what you're looking for in a quarterback and I think that's what they got in Bonix and yeah, I know that people look
- 50:35[SPEAKER_04]: are, you know, that had a great on him coming at a college.
- 50:39[SPEAKER_04]: It wasn't great and they're kind of still sticking with that.
- 50:42[SPEAKER_04]: But I think that's foolish.
- 50:43[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, you've got someone who's out there who showed that he can play this game, who's out there trying to get better, who's mature, who looks like he's got the command of the huddle and the command of his team.
- 50:55[SPEAKER_04]: And I don't think you're seeing that from some of these other second year quarterbacks.
- 50:59[SPEAKER_04]: I could be wrong.
- 51:01[SPEAKER_04]: That's why I think you got when you're looking at this team, that's why I think you've got a lot of optimism is because of Bonix is a big reason in that.
- 51:10[SPEAKER_01]: boys get figured out real quick in the NFL men lead football teams and that's the biggest difference for me and that's not a personal shot that's just an opinion and both the man of this football team you don't believe me ask his teammates yeah yeah you go ask the head coach you go ask the GM go ask the owners those guys are all going to tell you the company line he's the best thing ever because they drafted him
- 51:33[SPEAKER_01]: You really want to know about the guy?
- 51:35[SPEAKER_01]: Go ask his teammates when he has the respect of a Mike McClunchie when he has the respect and love and admiration of his offensive line.
- 51:42[SPEAKER_01]: When he's bringing teammates with him to Denver Nuggets games to Colorado avalanche games, you see, Bo Nixon, his quarterback's hanging out.
- 51:50[SPEAKER_01]: This is a guy that this team loves.
- 51:53[SPEAKER_01]: He's not only taking command of the offense, he's taking command of the locker room and this franchise.
- 51:58[SPEAKER_01]: This is the Bo Nixon train.
- 52:00[SPEAKER_01]: People need to figure out if they want to jump on it or not.
- 52:03[SPEAKER_01]: You and I jumped on this train as soon as he was drafted.
- 52:06[SPEAKER_01]: I think a lot of folks did at Maha Hado.
- 52:07[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know one stick in the mud over at MHHU saying, man, that bow next because of his organ days or because of what happened in Auburn.
- 52:15[SPEAKER_01]: I still don't know.
- 52:17[SPEAKER_01]: That doesn't make any sense to me.
- 52:18[SPEAKER_01]: That's old stuff.
- 52:19[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not making fun of Caleb Williams for being a little bit soft at USC.
- 52:24[SPEAKER_01]: I'm making fun of him for being soft in trailing camp right now.
- 52:27[SPEAKER_01]: So it's a little tough when you look at some of these things.
- 52:32[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm sure happy to have Bo Chapman, Nick's just like I'm happy to have the rock always on Facebook.
- 52:38[SPEAKER_01]: Bo Nick's is more mature than Caleb Williams.
- 52:43[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's about maturity.
- 52:44[SPEAKER_01]: It's about intelligence.
- 52:45[SPEAKER_01]: It's about how much you can handle and Sean continues to shove and make Bo Nick's this plate even fuller.
- 52:53[SPEAKER_01]: Any chance he can get.
- 52:55[SPEAKER_01]: Bo keeps answering the bell, man.
- 52:57[SPEAKER_01]: He's the Sean's guy.
- 52:58[SPEAKER_01]: They're cut from the same cloth.
- 52:59[SPEAKER_01]: I'm encouraged.
- 53:01[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, absolutely.
- 53:02[SPEAKER_04]: He has.
- 53:02[SPEAKER_04]: And I think there's going to be a lot of people who grow this here that are going to pretend like they weren't still down on him when he has another as a better season.
- 53:10[SPEAKER_04]: So I can't wait to see it play out because I'm pretty confident that Bonyx is going to be better in a sophomore season by a substantial amount than he was as a rookie.
- 53:25[SPEAKER_01]: Apparently there are some bonus critics and I will be reaching out to them personally.
- 53:31[SPEAKER_01]: It's fun to have a diverse opinion, right?
- 53:33[SPEAKER_01]: Like nobody needs to agree with absolutely everything.
- 53:36[SPEAKER_01]: This is where we can disagree more than ever in life.
- 53:39[SPEAKER_01]: Come to this show on Wednesday night.
- 53:42[SPEAKER_01]: We got some fun content coming up here.
- 53:44[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to spoil anything.
- 53:45[SPEAKER_01]: We got some good ideas in the cooker, if you will, for MHI.
- 53:50[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah fun fun things coming really really appreciate your rock.
- 53:54[SPEAKER_01]: Let's talk about the Broncos tight-ends.
- 53:56[SPEAKER_01]: I'm a dark horse candidate for camp that you had your eye on was a Wuzaree K. I had my eyes on this basketball player, Caleb Loner, and he quite literally is a loner.
- 54:06[SPEAKER_01]: He was Denver's last draft pick out of Utah.
- 54:09[SPEAKER_01]: Had fifty plus snap stew his name coming out of Utah an absolute project showing a little bit of potential.
- 54:17[SPEAKER_01]: out there Broncos training camp and when coach is mentioning your name along with one Jimmy Graham to hell of a start.
- 54:24[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I would like to see him out there in preseason.
- 54:26[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, obviously, camp doesn't tell the whole story when you've got the pads on and a different team going after you.
- 54:33[SPEAKER_04]: I'd like to see what he can do in preseason.
- 54:34[SPEAKER_04]: And I hope he gets a lot of playing time because he does have that raw potential that was a reke had that I keep why I keep talking about it.
- 54:43[SPEAKER_04]: Why Frank, they kept Frank crum around.
- 54:45[SPEAKER_04]: He's got that raw potential.
- 54:47[SPEAKER_04]: Now, he just have to put it out on the field and make it happen.
- 54:50[SPEAKER_04]: And that's where you're going to, if you can do it in preseason, I'm going to be on bandwagon too.
- 54:55[SPEAKER_01]: Run it back, has been super active tonight.
- 54:57[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate you so much.
- 54:59[SPEAKER_01]: I am so happy when Bonax got trapped.
- 55:02[SPEAKER_01]: I was so happy when Bonax got drafted.
- 55:04[SPEAKER_01]: It felt like he was the perfect fit and was the most consistent prospect.
- 55:09[SPEAKER_01]: Me too, man.
- 55:10[SPEAKER_01]: Our nightmare scenario, Tom, I don't want to speak for you, but I think as a show, we were both going to be extremely crushed.
- 55:16[SPEAKER_01]: If not devastated, if the Broncos walked away from the first round without a quarterback.
- 55:21[SPEAKER_01]: We desperately needed a quarterback.
- 55:24[SPEAKER_01]: When you're desperate and you need a quarterback, doesn't always work out.
- 55:27[SPEAKER_01]: It's right now.
- 55:29[SPEAKER_01]: There's so many times it appears that things are working out with both mix.
- 55:34[SPEAKER_01]: It's nice to not have these conversations.
- 55:37[SPEAKER_01]: Who's the starting quarterback's going to be?
- 55:39[SPEAKER_01]: It's nice to not have the conversation of
- 55:42[SPEAKER_01]: How many more chances is Sean Peyton going to give Boer?
- 55:45[SPEAKER_01]: How long are the Walton Penner ownership team going to kick the can down the road with Sean?
- 55:50[SPEAKER_01]: None of those questions are being answered.
- 55:52[SPEAKER_01]: They've invested in each other in that building.
- 55:54[SPEAKER_01]: And that's what's happening.
- 55:55[SPEAKER_01]: And that's what's ultimately going to happen on Saturday night when the Broncos roll into the bay.
- 56:00[SPEAKER_01]: They've invested in their own team, they've invested in their diets, their workouts, their film study.
- 56:05[SPEAKER_01]: They've sacrificed time away from their family, sitting in a hotel room, they're tired of being around each other.
- 56:11[SPEAKER_01]: This is your chance.
- 56:13[SPEAKER_01]: Go capture it.
- 56:14[SPEAKER_01]: Go, I feel like I'm an M, right?
- 56:15[SPEAKER_01]: And go, let's flip, let's flip, lose yourself, right?
- 56:18[SPEAKER_01]: All that silly stuff.
- 56:20[SPEAKER_01]: And Bo talked about that a little bit in his workout video.
- 56:23[SPEAKER_01]: You'll know if the work was worth it at the very end.
- 56:26[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 56:27[SPEAKER_04]: And you could tell the team's body.
- 56:29[SPEAKER_04]: Like, I don't see anything is showing me that any of these players haven't bought into what's going on there in the Broncos organization.
- 56:39[SPEAKER_04]: And once you have that, you know, you got a good team.
- 56:43[SPEAKER_04]: It does make for a boring offseason though when you've got your quarterback figured out you've got your coach figured out your ownership group.
- 56:49[SPEAKER_04]: You got everybody bought in.
- 56:51[SPEAKER_04]: They're not raising a ruckus or doing so.
- 56:53[SPEAKER_04]: Nobody's getting it.
- 56:54[SPEAKER_04]: Nobody.
- 56:55[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 56:57[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 56:58[SPEAKER_04]: Exactly.
- 56:58[SPEAKER_04]: It's a little bit of a boring kind of offseason and training camp.
- 57:02[SPEAKER_04]: But that all pays off like Bonic said in the regular season.
- 57:07[SPEAKER_04]: That's when people are going to, you know, not be as bored when it comes to the Denver brothers.
- 57:12[SPEAKER_01]: Scott always gets mad at me when I talk about, you know, let's avoid the arrests and all that.
- 57:16[SPEAKER_01]: He's like, well, I've put it to the negative energy out there.
- 57:18[SPEAKER_01]: It's so well, you know, because it's a part of life, right?
- 57:21[SPEAKER_01]: And you see, see, it's tough.
- 57:22[SPEAKER_01]: Like, Shoulder Sanders speeding on an early hours of July and a residential neighborhood, right?
- 57:28[SPEAKER_01]: What's that dude?
- 57:28[SPEAKER_01]: You're a quarterback competition.
- 57:29[SPEAKER_01]: Shoulder who is going to start for the Browns?
- 57:32[SPEAKER_01]: I guess I don't know.
- 57:33[SPEAKER_01]: They must believe over in Cleveland.
- 57:35[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 57:35[SPEAKER_01]: It'll be interesting to see what happens there.
- 57:37[SPEAKER_01]: Let's talk about some former Broncos.
- 57:39[SPEAKER_01]: No offense to the Cincinnati Bengals Tom.
- 57:41[SPEAKER_01]: You and I talked about that before the show started.
- 57:43[SPEAKER_01]: Interesting to see some of these cats still kicking around, including former Broncos defensive end and former Seattle Seahawk, Dreymont Jones signing with the Tennessee Titans.
- 57:54[SPEAKER_01]: And then you've got former Broncos quarterback Teddy Bridgewater Tom who I don't know if you know.
- 58:00[SPEAKER_01]: He came out of retirement, where he won a high school football championship, really, really cool study, or a story from one Teddy Bridgewater, and the love he had for his players.
- 58:10[SPEAKER_01]: Well, he's Tampa Bay, Buck and Ears start not starting quarterback, but back up quarterback.
- 58:14[SPEAKER_01]: I assume he'll be a starter for a preseason game or two.
- 58:18[SPEAKER_01]: What do you make of some of these former Broncos landing in other places?
- 58:21[SPEAKER_01]: No offense to the Bengals, Teddy to the Bucks, Drainmont to the Titans.
- 58:27[SPEAKER_04]: Well, it makes me think that they made the right decision because you got people bouncing around.
- 58:32[SPEAKER_04]: You got drain mod Jones, not really latching on anywhere.
- 58:37[SPEAKER_04]: You got Noah fan to the same thing.
- 58:38[SPEAKER_04]: It just, it makes me think that the Bronx made the right decision.
- 58:42[SPEAKER_04]: And when you look at the team, they actually did Zach Allen, it turned out to be a better player than drain mod Jones.
- 58:49[SPEAKER_04]: Obviously, Poe Knicks is way better than Teddy Bridgewater.
- 58:52[SPEAKER_04]: And then I was worried.
- 58:54[SPEAKER_01]: I was worried about the Dreyman Jones Zach Allen thing.
- 58:57[SPEAKER_01]: Tom, I didn't see it at first.
- 58:58[SPEAKER_01]: I shared my concerns.
- 58:59[SPEAKER_01]: I was a big Dreyman Jones guy, right?
- 59:01[SPEAKER_01]: Even bumping into him on my vacations and going with spring, all these sorts of things.
- 59:05[SPEAKER_01]: I was huge Dreyman guy.
- 59:06[SPEAKER_01]: And I was bumped when you went away.
- 59:08[SPEAKER_01]: I did not see Zach Allen coming man.
- 59:10[SPEAKER_01]: Talk about making the right decision.
- 59:12[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, Broncos got a huge upgrade and then some from going from Dreyman Zach.
- 59:17[SPEAKER_01]: Teddy was always a good good locker guy, good guy when he was here in Denver, I wish Teddy Bridgewater or nothing but the best, but I don't need him here in Denver.
- 59:27[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, so you know the Bronx have improved and that's that was what that's what's important for Broncos country is to know that they've got a lot better even though they've had some some bumps in the road with the Russell Wilson disaster and treating all some of their guys right now this team is better off.
- 59:45[SPEAKER_04]: with the guys they have then they would have been if they've kept some of those players around.
- 59:49[SPEAKER_01]: Speaking of keeping players around one player the Broncos didn't keep around last year was one Broncos former wide receiver Josh Reynolds.
- 59:57[SPEAKER_01]: Taking a look at the news and his name popped up last year.
- 1:00:00[SPEAKER_01]: He was involved in the shooting.
- 1:00:01[SPEAKER_01]: He was a victim of a shooting at a gentleman's club in Denver.
- 1:00:04[SPEAKER_01]: Well, apparently that was a case of mistaken identity according to law enforcement.
- 1:00:10[SPEAKER_01]: It sounds like a group of hoodlums, if you will, ripped off a cocaine dealer to the tune of a quarter million dollars in Josh Reynolds and his guys just having to be at the wrong place at the right, at the wrong time.
- 1:00:22[SPEAKER_01]: rather and fell victims to a shooting that did not turn deadly and just crazy man the way the way things are work out in life and
- 1:00:32[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know Tom, what's your reaction to Josh Reynolds in the case of mistaken identity.
- 1:00:37[SPEAKER_01]: How many times have we all watched cops?
- 1:00:39[SPEAKER_01]: And it's always the guy saying, no, it really wasn't me.
- 1:00:42[SPEAKER_01]: That was the case.
- 1:00:45[SPEAKER_04]: Man, that's a crazy story to get mixed up in something like that for, you know, for no reason, it's just, yeah, he's lucky that he survived.
- 1:00:56[SPEAKER_04]: You know, he could have been, he could have been much worse.
- 1:00:58[SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, lucky.
- 1:01:00[SPEAKER_04]: Very lucky.
- 1:01:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, no kidding.
- 1:01:02[SPEAKER_01]: Well, the Broncos are going to need all the luck they can get staying away from the turf monster, the injuries, this Saturday and San Francisco.
- 1:01:09[SPEAKER_01]: It's always cool when the Broncos go back to San Francisco, because we were reminded of Super Bowl Fifty, the good old days, right?
- 1:01:16[SPEAKER_01]: Doesn't seem like that long ago.
- 1:01:18[SPEAKER_01]: Well, the tenure reunion is this year folks.
- 1:01:22[SPEAKER_01]: It has been ten years since the Broncos last Lombardi trophy in twenty-fifteen, your Super Bowl Fifty Champions.
- 1:01:30[SPEAKER_01]: Broncos are heading back to the bay.
- 1:01:31[SPEAKER_01]: We're going back to Cali.
- 1:01:34[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and it's going to be a big day at the meet and greet when we're out there too.
- 1:01:38[SPEAKER_04]: It's I think that's the the same game that they're doing the ring of fame.
- 1:01:44[SPEAKER_04]: If I remember correctly, you know, it's kind of that kind of that celebration of Super Bowl fifty.
- 1:01:50[SPEAKER_04]: So it's a it's a good time to be doing the meet greet when you want to celebrate the Broncos from the past.
- 1:01:56[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be a lot of fun, and we always have a lot of fun with you, Broncos Country.
- 1:02:00[SPEAKER_01]: Every Wednesday night here on MHI.
- 1:02:02[SPEAKER_01]: Remember, you can catch us over on X on Facebook, YouTube, Twitch.
- 1:02:07[SPEAKER_01]: You can always catch us after the fact that we can't catch a live show.
- 1:02:09[SPEAKER_01]: That's cool.
- 1:02:10[SPEAKER_01]: iTunes Spotify.
- 1:02:11[SPEAKER_01]: We have your back with instant downloads.
- 1:02:14[SPEAKER_01]: Stay tuned for an exciting season.
- 1:02:16[SPEAKER_01]: Tom, another fun show.
- 1:02:18[SPEAKER_01]: Man, appreciate you working with me during this crazy move.
- 1:02:20[SPEAKER_01]: It's football season, man.
- 1:02:21[SPEAKER_01]: We are locked in for the season here on MHI, a huge season ahead.
- 1:02:25[SPEAKER_01]: It can't wait to see what Game Week brings next week, right?
- 1:02:29[SPEAKER_01]: See, we're into Game Weeks now, folks.
- 1:02:31[SPEAKER_01]: I get it's the breeze.
- 1:02:32[SPEAKER_01]: But Tom, I saw something.
- 1:02:34[SPEAKER_01]: Roger Goodell took some shots at the NBA, just to click on the way out.
- 1:02:39[SPEAKER_01]: The NFL Hall of Fame game absolutely dominated in terms of viewership, the average NBA playoff game.
- 1:02:48[SPEAKER_01]: That's how bad people are jonesing for NFL professional football.
- 1:02:53[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:02:54[SPEAKER_04]: Then it fills the king.
- 1:02:55[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, it just is that they're most watched games that the NFL draft,
- 1:03:03[SPEAKER_04]: Nobody does it.
- 1:03:04[SPEAKER_04]: No other sport does it like the NFL when it comes to the draft.
- 1:03:07[SPEAKER_04]: No.
- 1:03:07[SPEAKER_04]: It's just it just dominates all the other sports because it's fun.
- 1:03:13[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, there's so much involved.
- 1:03:15[SPEAKER_04]: There's so much to like about the NFL that I can see why they dominate it.
- 1:03:19[SPEAKER_04]: But I mean, I don't know why you're taking a shot at the NBA, but you know, whatever.
- 1:03:26[SPEAKER_01]: But then because I can.
- 1:03:27[SPEAKER_01]: Now, right?
- 1:03:28[SPEAKER_01]: Because I can.
- 1:03:28[SPEAKER_01]: There's only one shield and sometimes, Raj, every once in a while, someone's got to agree with him.
- 1:03:33[SPEAKER_01]: It just happens to me to be me here on August six.
- 1:03:37[SPEAKER_01]: Broncos Country.
- 1:03:37[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to catch up Pearl Heater.
- 1:03:39[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you for a great pod.
- 1:03:40[SPEAKER_01]: Broncos Country.
- 1:03:41[SPEAKER_01]: This is the way.
- 1:03:42[SPEAKER_01]: Everybody, make sure you hit the like button and share.
- 1:03:46[SPEAKER_01]: We appreciate everybody.
- 1:03:47[SPEAKER_01]: Broncos Country into preseason game number one.
- 1:03:51[SPEAKER_01]: San Francisco.
- 1:03:52[SPEAKER_01]: This is the way.
- 1:03:55[SPEAKER_00]: head on over to milehighhuddle.com for all things broke.
