- 0:03Speaker 1: Don Berman here for the Phil Henry Show backstage pass. Yes, me,
- 0:06Speaker 1: Don Burman from Channel nineteen News. Almost an Emmy winner.
- 0:10Speaker 1: And that's something that I've turned into kind of a joke.
- 0:12Speaker 1: It used to hurt very very deeply to say that
- 0:14Speaker 1: I'd missed out on an Emmy twice, but you know what,
- 0:16Speaker 1: I'm very proud of the fact that I got close.
- 0:19Speaker 1: And now I turn it into a joke because if
- 0:21Speaker 1: you don't laugh, you stare in a mirror every night,
- 0:24Speaker 1: as I did at one time in my life. You
- 0:26Speaker 1: stare into a mirror every night and you ask, why
- 0:28Speaker 1: go on, you're kidding.
- 0:31Speaker 2: Oh, It's all right, great to be visiting Phil.
- 0:33Speaker 1: In the gang here in the space goes. Don't forget
- 0:35Speaker 1: a backstage pass to the world Famous Phil Henry Show
- 0:37Speaker 1: is less than ten dollars a month for the month,
- 0:39Speaker 1: less than seven dollars a month for the year. We
- 0:42Speaker 1: heartily encourage you to get a backstage pass to the
- 0:44Speaker 1: world famous Phil Henry Show. For thousands of hours of
- 0:48Speaker 1: his Great Hall of Fame radio show, his podcasts, his
- 0:51Speaker 1: video casts, his home movies, podcasts from Bobby Dooley, and
- 0:55Speaker 1: all of those people that I'd really rather not talk
- 0:57Speaker 1: about because some of them piss off and use the
- 1:00Speaker 1: word fist. Well I just did, Thank you very much.
- 1:03Speaker 1: Don one put time. I'm getting the pushed out of
- 1:05Speaker 1: here long times. Phil Henry Show the greatest value online
- 1:08Speaker 1: other than porn. This is a s Is this from Malaysia?
- 1:20Speaker 2: Be steakhouse?
- 1:23Speaker 1: Come on, hey, everybody, come on, Dad and Ted, Beverly Hills.
- 1:27Speaker 1: I'm telling you we are introducing something got inspired by
- 1:29Speaker 1: something on the Bill Henry Show, and that I had
- 1:31Speaker 1: Bill Canosa, Rudy's uncle, come in and they kind of
- 1:34Speaker 1: slipped it out of the menu. It's called tedd and beans.
- 1:38Speaker 1: Do you want to boot on meating you? Ted Bell
- 1:40Speaker 1: at Ted's and Beverly Hills, hold on, Phillott, it's called
- 1:43Speaker 1: ted when we haven't decided whether it's ted and beans
- 1:46Speaker 1: fill or way call it pork and ted? Uh? This
- 1:49Speaker 1: is this is the pork and beans. Yeah, it's the
- 1:51Speaker 1: pork and beans. Because Bill Canosa, Hey, Rudy, come out
- 1:54Speaker 1: over here. Bill Canosa came in. That's my my My uncle.
- 1:57Speaker 1: Bill was in. He said, I heard the Henry Show.
- 1:59Speaker 1: He's talk about the pork and the dead I mean
- 2:02Speaker 1: porking bean. And because you guys have a tendency to
- 2:06Speaker 1: singularize everything. So I was thinking, well, why not we,
- 2:09Speaker 1: you know, have a T and Ted and the Bean.
- 2:11Speaker 1: What was the name of the show, Phil, Oh, a
- 2:13Speaker 1: cop show or something? Yeah, it was called something in
- 2:15Speaker 1: the Bean two cops. Yeah, so I was thinking Ted
- 2:18Speaker 1: and the Bean hit the tenor that's kind of lame.
- 2:21Speaker 1: Oh well, I'm lame. Okay, never mind. But I was
- 2:23Speaker 1: trying to think if it was up to me, I
- 2:27Speaker 1: wouldn't do it. But then my wife Marcy got involved.
- 2:29Speaker 1: So you're gonna put pork and beans on the menu
- 2:31Speaker 1: for the kids menu. Yeah, but the title that I
- 2:35Speaker 1: wanted to give it is is Pork and Bell or
- 2:38Speaker 1: not pork and Bell. They call it Dead in the Pork,
- 2:41Speaker 1: Ted in the Pork, Yes, because what you wanted to
- 2:44Speaker 1: do is you're the bean and the pork of the two,
- 2:47Speaker 1: the pork drives the car, you're the cop of the
- 2:50Speaker 1: cop of the cup show.
- 2:51Speaker 2: What's the name of the cop show? But let me
- 2:53Speaker 2: look it up. God damn.
- 2:55Speaker 1: It was with a great actor, Alan Well, yeah, Alan Arkin,
- 3:00Speaker 1: Adam's father as Free Being the Beans in nineteen seventy
- 3:03Speaker 1: two or nineteen seventy four film ahead, Alan Arkin in
- 3:06Speaker 1: it and Bill Bill Eisenstet. No, I don't know who
- 3:10Speaker 1: is that. I just made that up. I don't know,
- 3:12Speaker 1: but don't make up names. It was just a placeholder name.
- 3:15Speaker 1: What is it with these placeholder names? Until I find
- 3:17Speaker 1: out the name of the guy, it doesn't tell us anything. Okay,
- 3:21Speaker 1: who's Bill Eisenstett? All that for a minute. Hey, this
- 3:24Speaker 1: is my cousin. Listen Bill A Bill Common. Hello, Hey Bill,
- 3:28Speaker 1: you're the guy that thought when you listen to the show. Yeah,
- 3:31Speaker 1: Bill Henrian Yes, oh hey, big big Panny here, Yeah,
- 3:36Speaker 1: yesterday to Rody he should get the show the bean,
- 3:42Speaker 1: you know? Yeah, so I told Ted, you know, he
- 3:45Speaker 1: could be pet and a bean like gonna free me
- 3:47Speaker 1: the bean? Thank you very much. Bill. Why don't you
- 3:51Speaker 1: go over there and have yourself go over pull up
- 3:53Speaker 1: a chair, man, I'll bring you some of that chili.
- 3:55Speaker 1: That's my uncle. He is visiting from His name's Bill. Huh. Yeah,
- 4:00Speaker 1: he's been Bill ever since we were kids. But doesn't
- 4:03Speaker 1: he have like a Hispanic name. You know, he's Esteban,
- 4:06Speaker 1: but we call him Bill. Esteban isn't Stephen. Oh yeah,
- 4:09Speaker 1: he isn't Stephen. He doesn't like the name, he goes,
- 4:11Speaker 1: He'll Bill. But here's the thing, though, we call it
- 4:14Speaker 1: Ted and the bean or pork or or or pork
- 4:18Speaker 1: and ped. So pork is the driver, Ted is the bean.
- 4:21Speaker 1: Pork's the driver. What does that mean? It means because
- 4:24Speaker 1: of the cop show, the good guy, the really smart
- 4:27Speaker 1: guy was the bean, and Freeby was the guy just
- 4:29Speaker 1: driving the car. And so the in the pork is
- 4:32Speaker 1: driving the car. This is a dish that I'm serving
- 4:34Speaker 1: up in my restaurant. You know, you understand it. It
- 4:36Speaker 1: sounds good, mister Bell, because the pork is driving the car.
- 4:39Speaker 1: You're looking at the you're the bean looking at the map.
- 4:41Speaker 1: I don't know this is you know this all? Like
- 4:43Speaker 1: I said, Bill Canosa And then my wife Marcy got
- 4:45Speaker 1: invalved goy chef, Yeah, what chef? What do you think
- 4:51Speaker 1: about about what you guys are serving pork and pork
- 4:53Speaker 1: and beans? Oh my god, what's wrong with you? Oh?
- 5:01Speaker 1: The last time I served porking You can't The last
- 5:04Speaker 1: time I served pork and beans was at a restaurant
- 5:06Speaker 1: in Philadelphia and there was a mob killing. There was
- 5:10Speaker 1: a mob killing. Yes, I was coming out of the
- 5:13Speaker 1: kitchen I had I had a serving tray of pork
- 5:16Speaker 1: and beans. I was walking through the dining room with
- 5:19Speaker 1: the serving tray above my head. My head elevated, feeling
- 5:22Speaker 1: very proud of the pork and pork and beans. Next
- 5:25Speaker 1: thing I heard was gunfire and people hitting the deck
- 5:28Speaker 1: and thank god every I was safe. Were people killed, Yeah,
- 5:32Speaker 1: there were a couple. It was a mob hit. But
- 5:34Speaker 1: as I hit the ground, I had nothing but pork
- 5:37Speaker 1: and beans all over me. So I got up and
- 5:39Speaker 1: everyone was relieved that they were and they did all
- 5:41Speaker 1: this laughter. Look at the this guy and I had
- 5:44Speaker 1: pork and beans dripping down. You gotta be kidneyed. No,
- 5:48Speaker 1: I'm not kidding you. I had pork and beans all
- 5:50Speaker 1: over me. It was true. God damn. All right, Well,
- 5:54Speaker 1: I mean, why does it make you not want to
- 5:56Speaker 1: have porking meat? I have the worst memories of pork
- 5:59Speaker 1: and bean? Oh hey, Bill, Bill knoza billys what you're thinking?
- 6:04Speaker 1: I think it should be the pork and tad. You
- 6:06Speaker 1: know you'd run the car ru Yeah, my uncle thinks
- 6:10Speaker 1: his pork and ted sounds good because just as Bud said,
- 6:13Speaker 1: you're you're you're looking at the map and the been
- 6:15Speaker 1: the pork is driving the car. Hold on for maniar,
- 6:17Speaker 1: you guys, this is a dish. What do the pork's
- 6:20Speaker 1: driving the car? You see when I put myself into
- 6:23Speaker 1: a dish phill, whether it's a porter, Ted or let's say, okay,
- 6:26Speaker 1: let's say it's hot buttered Ted. I am on the
- 6:29Speaker 1: receiving end of the butt.
- 6:31Speaker 2: Yeah. See. You don't want to do that though, and
- 6:32Speaker 2: you're under seat the end of the buttering.
- 6:34Speaker 1: You know. All right, let's not go down that road. Okay,
- 6:38Speaker 1: this is why I don't like to get involved in
- 6:40Speaker 1: too much. You know, Marcy thought it was fun. Every
- 6:43Speaker 1: time you name something after you, Ted, you've got a
- 6:45Speaker 1: problem with it. You're always having a problem. Why. That's
- 6:48Speaker 1: the That is the truth. You're always complaining about people
- 6:50Speaker 1: with the dumb the hot buttered, tend hot fudged Ted. Well,
- 6:54Speaker 1: you know, but what's and now now you got pork
- 6:57Speaker 1: in the Ted because the pork, the pork's driving the car.
- 7:01Speaker 2: Where's Margaret, by the way, she's in the bathroom.
- 7:04Speaker 1: I'll be right in. Oh, hi, I'm sorry, I was
- 7:08Speaker 1: using the toilet. Are we on? Yes? Okay? Hey, Margaret
- 7:11Speaker 1: said Bill. Hello, Ted, I was listening and I heard
- 7:14Speaker 1: so you have this dish pork in the ted. Well, yeah,
- 7:17Speaker 1: that was the idea of Bill Canosa. There was Rudy's
- 7:20Speaker 1: uncle said, pork and It's from the movie freeb and
- 7:23Speaker 1: the Bean. The bean is it would be pork and beans.
- 7:26Speaker 1: I'm the bean, Ted and the pork is the pre Beat.
- 7:30Speaker 1: I think that sounds asinine. I think what you need
- 7:32Speaker 1: to just call it is as you usually do. You
- 7:34Speaker 1: call it pork and ted or Ted and beans. Well
- 7:37Speaker 1: that's what I was thinking. Well, pork and ted is
- 7:39Speaker 1: what he was going to call it. All right, but
- 7:41Speaker 1: don't you don't need the pork's driving the car. Yeah,
- 7:44Speaker 1: but it's from the movie. I know it's from the
- 7:46Speaker 1: Blue Beat. But it sounds ridiculous with Margaret, I think,
- 7:48Speaker 1: I think she's right. You think, Rudy, what do you think, Bill?
- 7:53Speaker 1: Whatever do it they want to do is good. Okay,
- 7:55Speaker 1: he's he's good with that. You know, pork and dead. Okay, Well,
- 7:59Speaker 1: now I can't pick up. All I can think of
- 8:00Speaker 1: is myself sitting shotgun to a big piece of pork
- 8:03Speaker 1: driving a car. All right, So pork and Ted is
- 8:06Speaker 1: on the menu at Ted's of Beverly Hills, and congratulations
- 8:12Speaker 1: you're welcome. Well, I don't know what else is happening
- 8:15Speaker 1: in tedds of Beverly Hills dead well. The other thing
- 8:17Speaker 1: that's going on here is, you know, Phil, is we've
- 8:19Speaker 1: closed the rooftop dining area because of the weather. It's
- 8:23Speaker 1: nothing too crazy, but as you know, I've never been
- 8:27Speaker 1: happy with part of the view because it overlooks a
- 8:29Speaker 1: garbage can and a guy's some guy with he's got
- 8:32Speaker 1: the engine out of the engine out of the car
- 8:34Speaker 1: is just sitting on the street. So the people are
- 8:36Speaker 1: looking at a view of an alley with a garbage can,
- 8:39Speaker 1: a car with the engine missing, and then the other
- 8:41Speaker 1: side you see Beverly Hills. So what we're thinking of
- 8:43Speaker 1: doing is we're going to shut down that end of
- 8:47Speaker 1: the of the rooftop dining area and they'll just have
- 8:51Speaker 1: the view of the beautiful Beverly Hills lights and you know,
- 8:53Speaker 1: Wilshire Boulevard and and like that. Okay, that sounds good.
- 8:58Speaker 1: The problem is it's going to cut this seating it
- 9:00Speaker 1: almost in half. Why why do you have to cut
- 9:03Speaker 1: the seating in half? Why didn't you just well, because
- 9:05Speaker 1: to effectively block people away from that view. I don't know,
- 9:10Speaker 1: you know, I think you're making too much out of that.
- 9:12Speaker 1: Why it has a view? Didn't you put up a
- 9:14Speaker 1: hedge or something like that? Yeah, you put up some lattice,
- 9:17Speaker 1: Well we did, but people are when you do that,
- 9:19Speaker 1: people want to see. The minute you put up like lattice,
- 9:22Speaker 1: or you put up like a vine or something and
- 9:25Speaker 1: it and it looks like you're block people want to
- 9:27Speaker 1: start peering through. And I had a guy do that
- 9:30Speaker 1: when we first put that lattice up. He came, but
- 9:31Speaker 1: he said, you got a garbage can out here, and
- 9:33Speaker 1: he said that there's a bum asleep right down below
- 9:35Speaker 1: where I'm having my spaghetti, and he kind of dry
- 9:38Speaker 1: heaved a little and went off to the bathroom. Bullshit,
- 9:40Speaker 1: I'm telling you the truth. Since some guy saw bumb
- 9:42Speaker 1: sleeping near the near where he was sitting, well, yeah,
- 9:45Speaker 1: it was at the rooftop and he looked down he
- 9:47Speaker 1: saw a bomb asleep and he started to dry heave
- 9:50Speaker 1: and went out to the to the to the can.
- 9:52Speaker 1: All right, so you've you've cut off, so you've cut
- 9:54Speaker 1: the rooftop dining in half just about. Yeah, so we'll
- 9:57Speaker 1: have seating for four and mean seating for four? How
- 10:01Speaker 1: much seating did you have before that, well we had
- 10:03Speaker 1: like twenty tables. But when all is said and done,
- 10:07Speaker 1: once we get the potted palms in place, and we
- 10:10Speaker 1: just you know, try to block your view of the
- 10:13Speaker 1: garbage cans the car. There's a clothesline with cloths on it.
- 10:17Speaker 1: It's only down to four.
- 10:18Speaker 2: Seats and you have to be a vinp to sit
- 10:21Speaker 2: up there.
- 10:22Speaker 1: Well we are. Yeah, we're limiting it to people that
- 10:24Speaker 1: first come preserved, you know, and people that will say,
- 10:29Speaker 1: is the rooftop open? I'll say yes. They'll immediately they'll
- 10:32Speaker 1: get on their cell phone and start calling me, and
- 10:35Speaker 1: I'll go, no, you know, you got to at least
- 10:37Speaker 1: go home. Okay, Well, why can't they just walk up
- 10:39Speaker 1: to the hostess stand and make a reservation? No, I
- 10:42Speaker 1: want people to call. Wait, wait a minute, ten, I
- 10:44Speaker 1: want to get this straight. So you have four seats
- 10:46Speaker 1: available on the roof, that's right, yeah, And in order
- 10:49Speaker 1: to reserve those is you have to call. So if
- 10:51Speaker 1: I'm standing in the restaurant, I can't just walk up
- 10:53Speaker 1: to the hostess and reserve them. No, And I can't
- 10:55Speaker 1: use my cell phone otherwise that's what I can't see,
- 10:59Speaker 1: you phone. I just don't want to see you phone
- 11:01Speaker 1: in me. Okay, what if I go out to my
- 11:03Speaker 1: car in the parking lot. Yes, well that's no good,
- 11:08Speaker 1: because Ted, what's the big deal. The big deal is
- 11:10Speaker 1: I want everybody to have an equal chance. Most people
- 11:12Speaker 1: are gonna be sitting at home. If you go, oh,
- 11:14Speaker 1: look at that, the four seats are available. I'll go
- 11:17Speaker 1: out to the parking lot and call Ted. They'll pretend
- 11:19Speaker 1: I'm be oh, I don't know. It's just all right.
- 11:22Speaker 1: So they got to go home. You got to go home.
- 11:24Speaker 1: Call and then we'll see. Okay, and is it ever
- 11:27Speaker 1: wide open? Not really? No. In fact, the last two
- 11:29Speaker 1: weeks since we've closed off the dining to the one
- 11:32Speaker 1: side where you see garbage cans. But the high school
- 11:35Speaker 1: a Beverly Hills High had had a snowball, so Josh
- 11:37Speaker 1: in his date and a friend, they took the table
- 11:40Speaker 1: for that for a couple of nights, and then we
- 11:42Speaker 1: had we had a lot of friends there. So for
- 11:44Speaker 1: the first week we had friends sitting there, Josh his
- 11:46Speaker 1: girlfriend and a couple of friends of his. Then I
- 11:50Speaker 1: we used it a few a few nights in a row.
- 11:53Speaker 1: You were you were there, Yeah, that's right. I own
- 11:55Speaker 1: the restaurant. Okay, I mean, why can't you just use
- 11:57Speaker 1: another table? I wanted to sit at the rooftop of
- 12:00Speaker 1: my restaurant. Okay, all right, So I was there like
- 12:02Speaker 1: three nights in a row because I was having a cigar,
- 12:04Speaker 1: relaxing and looking at the view. So has it been
- 12:07Speaker 1: open to the public yet, Yes, it opened up this week.
- 12:10Speaker 1: But you've got a call from a place where I
- 12:12Speaker 1: can't see. I don't know it's and that sounds really childish, Ted, Well,
- 12:16Speaker 1: isn't that night? You know what? It's how I want
- 12:19Speaker 1: to do it? Okay, I've been I've been put through
- 12:21Speaker 1: a living hell with this rooftop dining. If I never
- 12:23Speaker 1: if the place burnt to the ground, it will give
- 12:25Speaker 1: me a shit. Pretty funny thinking about a man's business.
- 12:29Speaker 1: Pardon near the round Hut film. Well, you're so dramatic, dude.
- 12:31Speaker 1: I mean, I know you've had a big hassle with
- 12:34Speaker 1: the rooftop dining, but I think you've had some good experiences,
- 12:36Speaker 1: haven't you not, Beny? No, every night is something all again.
- 12:40Speaker 1: There's I can see a garbage can, I says a
- 12:41Speaker 1: guy asleep out there the pavement. Is this soup? Is
- 12:44Speaker 1: this soup? Or is this something that you wash your
- 12:47Speaker 1: clothes and things like that. So why is the food
- 12:49Speaker 1: worse up there? Because Chef Chadilly insists on making sure
- 12:52Speaker 1: that every one of the main dining areas are fed
- 12:55Speaker 1: and that the menu and everything on it is it's
- 12:57Speaker 1: too perfection for people that are in the dining area
- 13:00Speaker 1: is inside the restaurant. When it comes to people sitting
- 13:02Speaker 1: on the roof, what do you what's your policy? Shift?
- 13:05Speaker 1: Don't people on the roof are going to get the
- 13:07Speaker 1: very fine cooking that the Teds of Beverly Hills has.
- 13:10Speaker 1: But I'm you know it sits a little longer waiting
- 13:14Speaker 1: for the waiters to come get the rest of the
- 13:15Speaker 1: food is in the So you're gonna if you get soup,
- 13:18Speaker 1: if you get a steak from us. It's been sitting
- 13:20Speaker 1: there for I don't know for how long. At the
- 13:22Speaker 1: longest maybe twenty five minutes or something like that. Why
- 13:25Speaker 1: would I want to eat a steak like that? Why
- 13:27Speaker 1: would anybody want to eat a twenty five minute old steak?
- 13:29Speaker 1: You want to cook it. I want to make sure
- 13:31Speaker 1: that everybody outstairs has their food. The people upstairs, they're
- 13:34Speaker 1: saraa garbage cans. They want to be up there anywhay
- 13:36Speaker 1: to have a cigar and sit there and impress their
- 13:38Speaker 1: girlfriends and make out. I don't think they care all
- 13:40Speaker 1: about the food. Well that is true. What do you
- 13:42Speaker 1: mean that is true? You know when I was up
- 13:45Speaker 1: there anyway, I didn't care. You've got four seats up there? Now,
- 13:48Speaker 1: when you had a seating for how many people? We
- 13:50Speaker 1: have seating for twenty five and now you've only got
- 13:53Speaker 1: four seats. Did the people like the food then? Did
- 13:55Speaker 1: the people like the food then? I don't know. I
- 13:57Speaker 1: didn't hear anything about it. I think people like them.
- 14:00Speaker 1: I think they like to have a cigar. I think
- 14:01Speaker 1: they'd like to sit there with their girlfriend and you know,
- 14:03Speaker 1: do whatever they do. But as far as the food
- 14:05Speaker 1: was concerned, I wasn't really gonna go whole hot because
- 14:08Speaker 1: they're up there, they're in the open, you got flies,
- 14:11Speaker 1: you got dirt, Jesus heats, and this is all falling
- 14:14Speaker 1: in the food. Yeah, it's gonna fall out of the food.
- 14:16Speaker 1: So I would just look tell the waiters, you come
- 14:18Speaker 1: get this later, O say. And if it sits there
- 14:21Speaker 1: for a half an hour, tough stuff. Oh man, you
- 14:24Speaker 1: know you're lucky that we didn't get to complaints about that.
- 14:27Speaker 1: I'm lucky. I'm trying to keep that. I'm trying to
- 14:29Speaker 1: keep it viable in the dining room. All right, guys,
- 14:31Speaker 1: it's a no point in arguing arguing about it because
- 14:34Speaker 1: are you big arguing about it because you've only got
- 14:36Speaker 1: four seats now upstairs? Is it available for reservation now?
- 14:41Speaker 1: Is what the seats upstairs? Oh? Yeah, yeah it is.
- 14:44Speaker 1: But I mean it's already it's been taken, it's booked
- 14:46Speaker 1: out for about three months. I got it all next week.
- 14:50Speaker 1: Then why you even have it, man? Because Phil, it

- 15:12Speaker 1: do you pronounce it wrong? And that is very choice
- 15:16Speaker 1: and we have that for anybody's sitting up top. But
- 15:18Speaker 1: so far the people sitting up top are all people

- 15:36Speaker 1: It's childishing him going through the garbage can and a
- 15:38Speaker 1: garbage can. I get it, Ted, that's fine, I understand.
- 15:42Speaker 1: I had to cut you off.
- 15:43Speaker 2: Bob Green just called and something happened last night wasn't
- 15:46Speaker 2: too good.
- 15:47Speaker 1: Bob Green? What happened? Well? Wait, hold on, yeah, why
- 15:50Speaker 1: don't you save it for the air, even though even
- 15:52Speaker 1: if it's emergency, it could be life threatening. But wait
- 15:54Speaker 1: until you go on the air. Is it life threatening?
- 15:56Speaker 1: Bud Caapminster Anywhen is it life threatening? No, it isn't,
- 15:59Speaker 1: mister Any evens something kind of embarrassing. All right, we're
- 16:01Speaker 1: going to be back with Bob Green. I think the

- 18:26Speaker 1: the other thing is that the connection kept breaking. Yeah,

- 18:32Speaker 1: Well sorry, Although Jackie did check in and she and
- 18:34Speaker 1: I sat and talked together. Well that's nice, Phil, But

- 18:57Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what I want to do, is that, Bob?
- 19:00Speaker 1: Hang it on?
- 19:00Speaker 2: Yeah, mister Greenberg, we'll get to you in a minute.
- 19:03Speaker 1: Okay, because I did you just I cut him up.
- 19:07Speaker 1: Get him back on the line, please, Bob. Yeah, I
- 19:10Speaker 1: was just saying I was waiting to talk to you, Phil.
- 19:13Speaker 1: I didn't sound like you guys were talking about something else.
- 19:16Speaker 1: So I was sitting there, you know, with my hand
- 19:19Speaker 1: in my well, not my hand in my past. We
- 19:20Speaker 1: don't need that, Bob. I'm not offully, sorry that it
- 19:22Speaker 1: was not necessary. No, I'm sitting here. Hold on, let's
- 19:26Speaker 1: talk about it. You said something happened involving someone we know,
- 19:31Speaker 1: did you? I talked to Bob already was Harvey Wabin, right, Bob.
- 19:35Speaker 1: Harvey Wyman came in Phil. I don't know if he
- 19:39Speaker 1: was drunk. I don't know what the problem was. But
- 19:41Speaker 1: he walked in here yesterday and he said, Hi, it's
- 19:44Speaker 1: Harvey Wabb And I said, I know you from the
- 19:46Speaker 1: Phil Henry Show. He said yes, he said I came
- 19:48Speaker 1: here to meet Bob's meat. I said, okay, that's great.
- 19:52Speaker 1: I said, here's our meat sections over here, and I
- 19:54Speaker 1: started to walk to the meat section. He goes, no,
- 19:55Speaker 1: I came here to meet Bob's meat. And he went
- 19:57Speaker 1: for my fly. And here, man, I'm telling you the truth.
- 20:01Speaker 1: He went for my fly, probably joking, but I slapped
- 20:04Speaker 1: his hand away, and he held onto his hand and
- 20:07Speaker 1: stared at me and had if ever a guy had
- 20:10Speaker 1: murder in his eyes, this guy Wireman did. And he
- 20:13Speaker 1: told me he was a marine in the Pacific in
- 20:15Speaker 1: World War Two. And if I were Japanese, my head
- 20:18Speaker 1: would already be off and I'd be holding it in
- 20:20Speaker 1: my left arm, and then he walked out. Thank you
- 20:24Speaker 1: very much, Old done.
- 20:26Speaker 2: Don't hang up, mister Green anyway, you can't hang up.
- 20:29Speaker 1: I know that. What's the big last? Nothing? Nothing? Nothing.
- 20:33Speaker 1: So Harvey Warman came in. I want to get this.
- 20:34Speaker 1: This is a general show. Yes, sir, Harvey Warman came
- 20:38Speaker 1: in there, and he said what he said, I came
- 20:43Speaker 1: to meet Bob's meat. He came to meet Bob's meat.
- 20:46Speaker 1: And then you said, let's go to the meat section. Yeah.
- 20:48Speaker 1: I started a guid him over there, and instead he
- 20:50Speaker 1: went for my fly. I slapped his hand away, and
- 20:54Speaker 1: then he backed up two steps, held onto his hand,
- 20:56Speaker 1: stared at me with pure death in his eyes, and said,
- 21:00Speaker 1: I was a marine in the Pacific in World War Two,
- 21:02Speaker 1: and if you were Japanese you'd be sitting in a
- 21:04Speaker 1: stool with your head under your left arm. Bullshit, mister Henry.
- 21:10Speaker 1: I'm ready to get a lawyer. You think I'm kidding
- 21:11Speaker 1: about that? No, no, no, no, no, I'm sorry. Can
- 21:14Speaker 1: we get Harvey I'm trying to.
- 21:15Speaker 2: Reach Harvy Waram right now.
- 21:18Speaker 1: Well, I don't know if I want to talk to
- 21:19Speaker 1: the guy. I mean, he threatened me, and you know,
- 21:22Speaker 1: that doesn't sound like Harvey. That sounds crazy. I mean,
- 21:24Speaker 1: he must have been drunk or something. I got Harvey Warman, Harvey,
- 21:29Speaker 1: that's Phil, that's Harvey Warmany Harvey. This is Bob Green. Yes, Bob,
- 21:34Speaker 1: I know it too. Okay, do you know I we're calling. Yes,
- 21:38Speaker 1: I know why you're calling. You're calling because this guy
- 21:40Speaker 1: invited me to meet his meat. So I went for
- 21:42Speaker 1: his fly and he slapped me. Well, what do you
- 21:45Speaker 1: think I was gonna do? Why are you inviting people
- 21:48Speaker 1: to meet your meat? Hey, Harvey, it's not like that. Okay,
- 21:52Speaker 1: maybe it's not like that, and maybe it is these
- 21:54Speaker 1: guys with a double entendre. Okay, this is what this
- 21:57Speaker 1: is all about. You're expected to just go, oh, I know,
- 22:00Speaker 1: I'm gonna go to the meat section. Well, I decided
- 22:03Speaker 1: to test the theory. I walked in there. I said, Hi,
- 22:05Speaker 1: I'm here to meet Bob's meat, and he said okay,
- 22:07Speaker 1: and he starts to walk away. I go, no, I
- 22:10Speaker 1: don't know where you're going, but I think it's right there.
- 22:11Speaker 1: And I made I fake like I was gonna unzip
- 22:14Speaker 1: his fly. I didn't do. I didn't get that close
- 22:16Speaker 1: to you at all. Well, I didn't know that, and
- 22:17Speaker 1: I reached out and slapped your hand, as anybody would. Yes,
- 22:20Speaker 1: And that's when I recoiled in horror that a guy
- 22:23Speaker 1: that's about five foot nothing would slap my hand. I
- 22:26Speaker 1: told him, Yes, I was a marine in the Pacific
- 22:28Speaker 1: in World War Two. And I didn't say if you
- 22:30Speaker 1: were Japanese, you'd be sitting on that stool holding your
- 22:32Speaker 1: head at your left arm. I said that I've seen
- 22:35Speaker 1: in some instances guys get so angry that a guy
- 22:38Speaker 1: can be sitting on a stool with a lit cigarette
- 22:41Speaker 1: and an ashtray holding his head in his left arm. Well,
- 22:44Speaker 1: that's not what you said. That's exactly what I said.
- 22:47Speaker 1: That's exactly what I said. Well, that still sounds like
- 22:49Speaker 1: a threat, Harvey, It sounds like a thread anyway bringing
- 22:52Speaker 1: that up. Oh, come on, I wasn't threatening the eye
- 22:54Speaker 1: at all. He slapped me. He made the physical contact
- 22:57Speaker 1: with me. Did you make physical contact with him? No?
- 22:59Speaker 1: I did it not. Well, how is I supposed to know?
- 23:02Speaker 1: You're reaching over, leaning slowly over with your fingers. It
- 23:06Speaker 1: looked like you're about ready to pull my zipper. Jesus, Yeah,
- 23:10Speaker 1: Well did I know you didn't? But the fact is now.
- 23:13Speaker 1: So I didn't make any physical contact, but you made
- 23:16Speaker 1: physical contact with me. Look, look, Harvey, you know I'm
- 23:19Speaker 1: I'm here to see if we can't mediate this thing. Yeah, no,
- 23:23Speaker 1: I know that, Phil, That's what you're always doing, seeing
- 23:25Speaker 1: if you could be the peace baker. Okay, mister Henry,
- 23:27Speaker 1: I'm not interested in meetia, meet mediating anything there is
- 23:31Speaker 1: with meat. See, you don't want to meet mediate anything
- 23:35Speaker 1: that means what you don't want to have my meat?
- 23:36Speaker 1: How about you meet my meat? What do you think
- 23:38Speaker 1: of that? Hey? Hey, look look at you didn't make
- 23:41Speaker 1: any physical contact with him. He slapped your hand away
- 23:43Speaker 1: with and I think probably rightfully so not knowing what
- 23:46Speaker 1: you're doing reaching for a zipper, Oh I did. I
- 23:49Speaker 1: was about a foot away from his zipper. Well, I
- 23:52Speaker 1: didn't know that, okay. And I and then when he
- 23:54Speaker 1: slapped me, I said, you know, I'm a marine. I
- 23:57Speaker 1: was in the Pacific in World War two, and there
- 23:59Speaker 1: were days when you might see a guy holding his
- 24:01Speaker 1: head under his arm. Okay, a lit cigarette and a
- 24:04Speaker 1: glass of sherry. You didn't say that, Oh is this
- 24:07Speaker 1: you're kidding? Right? You don't know what you were gonna
- 24:09Speaker 1: see in those days it was crazy. We were all crazy.
- 24:12Speaker 1: He was horrifying. He said, you said to me if
- 24:16Speaker 1: you were Japanese. I did not. I did not say that,
- 24:18Speaker 1: and I'll go to court and I'll testify that I
- 24:20Speaker 1: didn't say it. Well, you know something, I could get
- 24:23Speaker 1: a lawyer and go to town on you, and well,
- 24:25Speaker 1: why would you do that, Bobby? But it was a misunderstanding.
- 24:27Speaker 1: He was a stupid even if it was a joke.
- 24:29Speaker 1: As a stupid joke, you don't need the money. No,
- 24:31Speaker 1: I don't need the money. But when I've I've worked
- 24:33Speaker 1: hard on that slogan, you know that. I was saying
- 24:36Speaker 1: to you that I was gonna go along the Ted
- 24:38Speaker 1: Bell round. I was gonna do something with double on
- 24:40Speaker 1: tondre ah. So it was double on towndre, of course
- 24:44Speaker 1: it was. And I was gonna say, meet Bob's Meat,
- 24:46Speaker 1: but I wasn't gonna make it dirty. And then Harvey
- 24:49Speaker 1: Warman comes in and there's about four or five women
- 24:51Speaker 1: there standing staring because they wanted to know about the
- 24:54Speaker 1: pot roast. We were doing a special on London broil
- 24:56Speaker 1: with something and I and he says to me, I
- 24:59Speaker 1: came to meet Bob's Meat, and I said, it's right
- 25:01Speaker 1: over here. He reaches for my fly. I slap his
- 25:03Speaker 1: hand and he and he grabs his hand and he goes.
- 25:05Speaker 1: You know something in the Pacific, many years ago, I
- 25:07Speaker 1: was a marine. You used to see a guy sitting
- 25:09Speaker 1: there holding his head with a London broiler in front
- 25:12Speaker 1: of him. I forget what he said. That's it right there.
- 25:14Speaker 1: You forget what I said, with a London broil in
- 25:16Speaker 1: front of him. It was something having to do. But
- 25:19Speaker 1: that's how casually he could take my head off. No, sir,
- 25:22Speaker 1: I did not. I was trying to say it was.
- 25:25Speaker 1: It was very frightening and ugly in the Pacific what
- 25:27Speaker 1: you would see, okay, And for you to slap me
- 25:30Speaker 1: a marine veteran, I felt that was You know, I
- 25:32Speaker 1: should just point out to you that I've seen things
- 25:34Speaker 1: that would make you buke. Okay, I don't doubt that, sir.
- 25:38Speaker 1: But all I did was slap your hand away when
- 25:40Speaker 1: I thought you were gonna grab my fly on zip
- 25:43Speaker 1: and do whatever the hell it was you think you
- 25:44Speaker 1: were gonna do. I was gonna do anything. I didn't
- 25:46Speaker 1: big touch you. Why don't we just drop the whole thing. Well,
- 25:48Speaker 1: now it's gone public I'm out here in public. Yeah,
- 25:51Speaker 1: I'm out here in public. I look like everybody's little
- 25:53Speaker 1: bitch that this guy's gonna grab my fly. No no, no, no,
- 25:57Speaker 1: no no no. I didn't grab your fly, and you
- 25:59Speaker 1: slap me. You slap my hand. Even though I'm a
- 26:02Speaker 1: marine with experience in South Pacific in World War Two,
- 26:05Speaker 1: I know when a guy be sitting there having a sherry,
- 26:08Speaker 1: smoking a cigarette and holding his own head under his
- 26:10Speaker 1: left arm. Yes, that's what we saw. It was pretty ugly.
- 26:13Speaker 1: All right, listen, you guys need to drop it right now,
- 26:15Speaker 1: or I'm going to just go ahead and let you
- 26:17Speaker 1: guys pursue this elsewhere because I don't want to hear
- 26:19Speaker 1: any more about it. It sounds like a silly ass
- 26:22Speaker 1: joke gone bad. Isn't that what it was? Harvey? Yes,
- 26:24Speaker 1: it was a joke, But this guy's is taking everything seriously.
- 26:28Speaker 1: I've only met you once before. How did I know
- 26:30Speaker 1: you come walking into my grocery store, bob Greens Meets
- 26:33Speaker 1: and Greens. I got the big sign that says meet
- 26:36Speaker 1: Bob's Meat. Yes, that's what it said, So I came
- 26:38Speaker 1: in to meet Bob's Meat. I go for the fly.
- 26:41Speaker 1: I get my hand slapped, and then I reminded you
- 26:43Speaker 1: that when I was in the Pacific in World War two,
- 26:45Speaker 1: we walked to the jungle and suddenly seeing guys sitting
- 26:48Speaker 1: there with a hamburg and a coke in front of
- 26:49Speaker 1: him holding his own head. So I can tell you
- 26:52Speaker 1: right now, all right, Harvey Wyman and Bob Green, you
- 26:55Speaker 1: know feel when you cut people off like that? Yet
- 26:57Speaker 1: it's a little premature, Phil all right, put him back on,
- 27:00Speaker 1: for God's sake. Hello, right here? Did you cut us off?
- 27:05Speaker 1: I gotta get going. So what's the upshot in this
- 27:08Speaker 1: guy's The upshot is this, I didn't I didn't you.
- 27:11Speaker 1: I didn't make physical contact with you. You made physical contact
- 27:14Speaker 1: with me, mister Green, and you made me look like
- 27:17Speaker 1: a fool a zoo full of chimpanzees swinging from the
- 27:20Speaker 1: bars and going all right, well, I'll think about it. Yeah,
- 27:26Speaker 1: you thinking about it? Hey, Bob, what did you just
- 27:29Speaker 1: let it go? Okay with just you're grocery store. Grocery store.
- 27:32Speaker 1: I shouldn't say that grocery store. This is a fine food, courmet.
- 27:37Speaker 1: This is a gourmet store. Okay, okay, it's gotten plenty
- 27:40Speaker 1: of publicity, and meet your meat Harvey's making a joke.
- 27:44Speaker 1: You know, I don't give a shit. I think you did.
- 27:47Speaker 1: Just remember, I know in the Pacific you'd see a
- 27:49Speaker 1: guy sitting there holding his own head while he was
- 27:51Speaker 1: making a phone call. I've heard there is that. Fine,
- 27:54Speaker 1: that's fine. Yah. When I was in the Pacific, yeah, Harvey,
- 27:58Speaker 1: was you at all marine in?
- 28:00Speaker 2: I know that.
- 28:01Speaker 1: And I guess what they saw some pretty ugly stuff.
- 28:04Speaker 1: A guy holding his own head, sitting down to a
- 28:07Speaker 1: London broil.
- 28:08Speaker 2: Yeah, sure, well there's a lot of that stuff. Did
- 28:11Speaker 2: you ever see that show of the Pacific?
- 28:12Speaker 1: I did.
- 28:13Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it's pretty brutal.
- 28:15Speaker 1: Well, there was nothing in the Pacific about a man
- 28:17Speaker 1: holding his head and in his right arm. No, but
- 28:19Speaker 1: you had some guys their heads was cut off and stuff.
- 28:22Speaker 1: I know, I know it is horrible. It was horrifying.
- 28:25Speaker 1: But it was by the way, that was the same
- 28:26Speaker 1: guy that did Band of Brothers. Dale Die was a
- 28:29Speaker 1: part of the uh oh, Dale Die, the guy that
- 28:33Speaker 1: that you used to know, well, used to know, I
- 28:35Speaker 1: mean well, yeah, I used to Dale used to call
- 28:36Speaker 1: the show way back in the radio days. Anyway, he
- 28:39Speaker 1: was the consultant on that on Band of Brothers and
- 28:42Speaker 1: on saving Private Ryan, so he had a lot of
- 28:44Speaker 1: great stories to tell about that world famous Phil Henry Show.
- 28:48Speaker 1: Here from the Space Coast, World Famous Phil Henry Show,
