- 0:00Speaker 1: Mr.
- 0:00Speaker 2: New York, here's more Marc Simone on 710WOR.
- 0:08Speaker 1: Well, hey, we'll get to that crazy Ed Sheeran. We'll
- 0:11Speaker 1: get to AI. We'll get to the White House and
- 0:14Speaker 1: the press. And we'll get to Mamdani and the UN
- 0:18Speaker 1: and a whole lot more. It's Monday, final full day
- 0:21Speaker 1: of summer. Autumn begins tomorrow night. 8 p.m it officially
- 0:27Speaker 1: is autumn it's going to be in the 60s the
- 0:29Speaker 1: rest of the week uh president trump coming to new
- 0:32Speaker 1: york he'll be here about four o'clock uh it's going
- 0:36Speaker 1: to be a traffic nightmare first stop is gracie mansion
- 0:40Speaker 1: so uh it's a holiday today and it's also a
- 0:42Speaker 1: monday where most people don't come into the office so
- 0:45Speaker 1: it's a lighter traffic day anyway but uh he's going
- 0:49Speaker 1: to be coming in uh from the airport, and he'll
- 0:52Speaker 1: come to the Upper East Side Gracie Mansion in the
- 0:55Speaker 1: 80s on the east side. That will completely close up
- 0:58Speaker 1: streets around there. Then he meets with President Macron of France.
- 1:05Speaker 1: Then he comes down towards Midtown for 6 o'clock tonight
- 1:11Speaker 1: is a RNC donor meeting reception. $ 150, 000 a ticket and up.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Then from there he goes to the big MAGA Inc. dinner.
- 1:23Speaker 1: Big gala dinner tonight. Spend the night in New York.
- 1:28Speaker 1: And then tomorrow he's going to try to meet with Zelensky.
- 1:32Speaker 1: He's going to try to meet with other leaders at
- 1:36Speaker 1: the U.N. It's the big U.N. General Assembly all week.
- 1:39Speaker 1: Street closures. Absolute nightmare. Hey, this crazy Ed Sheeran, you know,
- 1:44Speaker 1: he's the nicest guy, Ed Sheeran. When it comes to
- 1:47Speaker 1: the music world, nobody nicer than Ed Sheeran.
- 1:50Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:50Speaker 1: He got himself into this mess. He picks this crazy
- 1:54Speaker 1: anti-Semite Macklemore to be the opening act. Everybody's blaming the promoter,
- 1:59Speaker 1: saying it wasn't Ed Sheeran. It was the promoter. He
- 2:02Speaker 1: got stuck with this. Ed Sheeran's a pretty big guy.
- 2:05Speaker 1: He can decide who his opening act is. But Macklemore,
- 2:10Speaker 1: terrible anti-Semite. He's been seen dressed in Nazi costumes. Remember
- 2:15Speaker 1: that time he dressed as an Orthodox rabbi? Horrible anti-Semitic
- 2:20Speaker 1: looking costume. So Macklemore's off the tour because the stadium owners,
- 2:25Speaker 1: Robert Kraft and others, wouldn't let him appear there. So
- 2:28Speaker 1: they had to drop him from the tour. Ed Sheeran
- 2:30Speaker 1: getting all kinds of flack in Ireland. They stopped playing
- 2:34Speaker 1: his music on the radio. Fans returned tickets. He's all upset.
- 2:40Speaker 1: So big headline today. Ed Sheeran says his family abandoned him.
- 2:46Speaker 1: He's coming out on stage talking about how he lost
- 2:48Speaker 1: his family, his friends. He comes out on stage crying.
- 2:52Speaker 1: He's got to stop this. He looks ridiculous. Stop whining
- 2:57Speaker 1: and crying. He needs the Godfather to slap him and say,
- 3:02Speaker 1: you can act like a man. Stop crying. Stop apologizing.
- 3:08Speaker 1: Look at Bill Maher. I'm gonna play this again. I'm
- 3:11Speaker 1: gonna play this every hour. This is Bill Maher, Friday night.
- 3:14Speaker 3: I think Macklemore spoke for all clueless celebrities when he said,
- 3:18Speaker 3: I know enough to know this is a genocide.
- 3:21Speaker 1: Actually, you don't know.
- 3:23Speaker 3: It's not a genocide. It's a counterattack in a war,
- 3:28Speaker 3: a war that's been waged on Israel since 1948 based
- 3:32Speaker 3: on the ridiculous premise that Jews don't belong in the
- 3:35Speaker 3: one place on earth they are indigenous and indisputably their
- 3:39Speaker 3: ancestral homeland. Hey geniuses, they're the Indians in this scenario.
- 3:46Speaker 1: Yeah, Ed Sheeran, either say nothing or say that. But
- 3:50Speaker 1: he comes out on stage, now he becomes anti-Semitic. He
- 3:53Speaker 1: starts spewing this anti-Semitic nonsense about Israel. And then he
- 3:57Speaker 1: starts crying. Listen to Ed Sheeran.
- 3:59Speaker 2: This wasn't the easy option tonight.
- 4:01Speaker 4: I didn't know what was going to happen. I heard
- 4:03Speaker 4: all sorts.
- 4:04Speaker 2: Of things were going to happen.
- 4:05Speaker 4: I didn't know whether I'd be safe or you'd be
- 4:09Speaker 4: safe or things would be thrown at me, people would boo.
- 4:12Speaker 4: And I walked it. I felt so much love from
- 4:18Speaker 4: you guys.
- 4:18Speaker 2: And I'm so grateful.
- 4:25Speaker 1: Okay, okay, that's good. That part's good. But then, I
- 4:30Speaker 1: don't know what happened to this guy. He starts getting
- 4:32Speaker 1: into all this stuff. I'm trying to find, oh, here
- 4:35Speaker 1: it is. Here's more.
- 4:36Speaker 4: My concerts have always been a safe space for everyone,
- 4:40Speaker 4: and that matters hugely to me. Honoring my commitment to
- 4:44Speaker 4: my fans is also.
- 4:45Speaker 1: See, the other thing, he has a British accent. You
- 4:47Speaker 1: always sound like a genius with a British accent. I mean,
- 4:50Speaker 1: it's Ed Sheeran. I mean, this is not Einstein. But
- 4:53Speaker 1: you sound like a genius with a British accent.
- 4:55Speaker 4: Completely central to who I am. And that is why
- 4:58Speaker 4: I'm here tonight on my own and continuing my current tour.
- 5:07Speaker 1: Okay, that's good. That's very good.
- 5:10Speaker 4: What happened in Israel and at the Nova Music Festival
- 5:13Speaker 4: on October 7th was horrific and compounded centuries of Jewish pain.
- 5:18Speaker 4: What is happening in Gaza is catastrophic and unjustifiable and disproportionate.
- 5:25Speaker 4: My heart has been broken by the scale of devastation
- 5:28Speaker 4: and loss of civilians' lives, of children's lives.
- 5:32Speaker 1: All right, that's where you lose everybody, Ed Sheeran. It's unjustified.
- 5:38Speaker 1: It's a counterattack. It's unjustified. Israel is not running around
- 5:41Speaker 1: raping women and killing babies as Hamas did. That's where
- 5:46Speaker 1: he loses everybody.
- 5:48Speaker 4: I have tried in my career not to be a
- 5:49Speaker 4: political commentator of any kind.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Well, this might be a good time to continue that policy.
- 5:54Speaker 4: Because I want my music and shows to be about unity,
- 5:57Speaker 4: not division. About humanity, not politics.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Yeah, well.
- 6:02Speaker 2: I don't want to.
- 6:02Speaker 4: Disappoint fans, and I've never wanted to be an activist musician,
- 6:06Speaker 4: but this has put me in the middle of an
- 6:08Speaker 4: important and passionate argument about freedom of speech and the
- 6:11Speaker 4: most complex political issue on the planet.
- 6:14Speaker 1: Yeah, that's why you should stay the hell out of it.
- 6:16Speaker 1: First of all, you... He has no idea where Israel is.
- 6:18Speaker 1: He couldn't find it on a map, knows nothing about Gaza, Hamas.
- 6:22Speaker 1: He's just trying to worm his way out of this
- 6:24Speaker 1: and doesn't know how to do it. Ed Sheeran interviewed later.
- 6:28Speaker 1: He said, it's been horrific. It's been awful. I've lost friends.
- 6:33Speaker 1: I've lost family. That's everybody. That's everybody when it comes
- 6:38Speaker 1: to Trump, when it comes to Israel. Everybody's lost friends
- 6:40Speaker 1: over it. That's why I always tell you, do not
- 6:43Speaker 1: ever talk about politics with anybody. Ever. There's no reason to.
- 6:50Speaker 1: You love politics? Listen to shows like this. Listen to
- 6:53Speaker 1: whatever you listen to. Read whatever. You don't have to
- 6:56Speaker 1: discuss it with people in a bar. Don't discuss it
- 6:59Speaker 1: over a dinner table. Don't discuss it at a party.
- 7:03Speaker 1: Don't discuss it. It's just going to cause you trouble.
- 7:06Speaker 1: There's nothing to gain from it. You don't need every
- 7:09Speaker 1: idiot's opinion on everything. Just stay the hell away from it.
- 7:15Speaker 1: But Ed Sheeran, we'll see. I think he recovers from this.
- 7:20Speaker 1: You know what? Just sing. Put out great records. Put
- 7:22Speaker 1: out a new album. Have it be a big success.
- 7:26Speaker 1: And you'll do just fine. Hey, President Trump, you know,
- 7:31Speaker 1: he wants to build that big arch in Washington, D.C.
- 7:35Speaker 1: It's actually a pretty good idea. It would dominate a
- 7:38Speaker 1: good chunk of the D.C. skyline. When they say skyline,
- 7:41Speaker 1: they're talking about three, four stories. But it would look great.
- 7:46Speaker 1: I know, he wants to put his name on it.
- 7:48Speaker 1: All right, that's not so great. Keep your name off it.
- 7:50Speaker 1: Just build the arch. But just because it's him, if
- 7:55Speaker 1: it were Obama, if it were Biden, Democrats would love
- 7:58Speaker 1: this arch. They would be donating. They would be pushing
- 8:01Speaker 1: for it. They would be hailing him as a genius
- 8:03Speaker 1: for coming up with the arch. But it's Trump, so
- 8:06Speaker 1: they're all opposed to it. And President Trump says now
- 8:09Speaker 1: it will double as a top-grade military complex. It will house,
- 8:14Speaker 1: store drones, snipers, both on the roof and plaza areas.
- 8:20Speaker 1: It'll hold large quantities of sniper ammunition in storage. You know,
- 8:26Speaker 1: he keeps falling back on the same excuse. Well, we
- 8:29Speaker 1: have military. You can't keep saying everything's also going to
- 8:32Speaker 1: be military. That excuse doesn't work. If you need to
- 8:37Speaker 1: store large amounts of ammunition, there's like 700,000 other buildings
- 8:43Speaker 1: in Washington, D.C. And it's the home of the U.S. military,
- 8:47Speaker 1: the Pentagon, every, I'm sure they got places right now
- 8:49Speaker 1: where they can store all the ammunition. Right now, the
- 8:52Speaker 1: ammunition is being stored somewhere. And why would you put
- 8:54Speaker 1: it in an arch? It's going to be a big
- 8:57Speaker 1: tourist thing. A million tourists will be around that arch.
- 8:59Speaker 1: It's the last place you want to have to go
- 9:01Speaker 1: to get your ammunition out. So that part doesn't make
- 9:03Speaker 1: much sense. Ukraine, largest attack ever on Moscow. A thousand
- 9:11Speaker 1: drones hit Moscow. One thousand drones. Now, you remember Ukraine
- 9:17Speaker 1: begging us for drones, begging us for missiles. Well, over
- 9:20Speaker 1: the last two years, they built their own drone factories.
- 9:22Speaker 1: They are now the biggest drone manufacturer in the world.
- 9:26Speaker 1: They're turning out the biggest, most powerful drones in their
- 9:28Speaker 1: own factories worldwide. So they got an endless supply. So
- 9:32Speaker 1: in this attack, this is right in Moscow, right in
- 9:34Speaker 1: the middle of Moscow, 1,000 drones hit Moscow. 1,000 drones. Now,
- 9:42Speaker 1: on the other hand, it killed two people. In the
- 9:43Speaker 1: middle of a major city, 1,000 drones, and they only
- 9:46Speaker 1: killed two people. But they went all over the country,
- 9:50Speaker 1: and they went all over Moscow. The mayor of Moscow
- 9:54Speaker 1: said 450 of the drones had been destroyed, shot down
- 9:57Speaker 1: en route. Okay, that's possible. He said the unprecedented attack
- 10:03Speaker 1: on the capital was to disrupt their elections. They were
- 10:05Speaker 1: having an election. Of course, there's no opposition there. When
- 10:10Speaker 1: you're Putin or whoever and you run, there's no opposition.
- 10:13Speaker 1: So it's not the most crucial election in the world. Uh,
- 10:18Speaker 1: Obama bashing Trump for, uh, uh, not doing enough about AI.
- 10:23Speaker 1: You know, he's big on, he's, he's the one quietly
- 10:25Speaker 1: behind the scenes that orchestrated this whole AI thing. They
- 10:28Speaker 1: think it's going to be a big thing for the midterms.
- 10:31Speaker 1: Climate change isn't working. Uh, they've been polling it, focus
- 10:35Speaker 1: grouping it. Climate change isn't scaring anybody anymore. It's just
- 10:38Speaker 1: not working. So they came up with this whole AI
- 10:40Speaker 1: thing and it was all orchestrated carefully. Obama was the
- 10:45Speaker 1: one running around from one meeting to another. getting this done.
- 10:50Speaker 1: The four big AI companies, they're all very close to Obama,
- 10:54Speaker 1: very close, have been for years. So they came up
- 10:57Speaker 1: with a bunch of incidents of how the AI was
- 11:01Speaker 1: escaping from their control and taking over. And they brought
- 11:06Speaker 1: out these four incidents to scare everybody. But now there's
- 11:10Speaker 1: all sides of insiders and whistleblowers within these AI companies
- 11:15Speaker 1: who are coming forward and saying these incidents have been
- 11:17Speaker 1: ridiculously oversold. The one they talked about where it broke
- 11:22Speaker 1: out of the sandbox, they create a sandbox around the
- 11:25Speaker 1: AI so it can't get out. The one where it
- 11:28Speaker 1: got out, whistleblowers are now saying they deliberately didn't build
- 11:31Speaker 1: the sandbox correctly. They deliberately left holes in it so
- 11:34Speaker 1: the AI could escape it. And they're doing this for
- 11:37Speaker 1: the other incidents. Remember the first whistleblower that the AI
- 11:41Speaker 1: guys had? Turned out he'd only worked there like four weeks.
- 11:45Speaker 1: But these guys have been there forever, these whistleblowers now.
- 11:48Speaker 1: They're coming forward and saying these incidents they've described were
- 11:54Speaker 1: actually set up. They were engineered so that it would happen.
- 11:58Speaker 1: And they could use them. Now to say that President
- 12:01Speaker 1: Trump's doing nothing about AI. Nothing about AI.
- 12:05Speaker 2: You just can't come to the White House press briefings anymore.
- 12:10Speaker 1: Oh, that's another one. Forget that. We'll get to that
- 12:12Speaker 1: in a minute.
- 12:12Speaker 2: But.
- 12:15Speaker 1: President Trump did set up something called AI Force, and
- 12:19Speaker 1: he created an AI czar on Saturday to keep the
- 12:22Speaker 1: industry from engaging in bad practices. AI Force will patrol
- 12:26Speaker 1: the whole thing. As I mentioned before, Anthropic and these
- 12:30Speaker 1: other companies have set up super PACs to hand out
- 12:34Speaker 1: tons of money to politicians. They need the Democrats, Bernie Sanders,
- 12:38Speaker 1: all these guys to play along with this. So 40
- 12:43Speaker 1: million has been doled out to them very quickly over
- 12:45Speaker 1: the weekend and more money is coming. So it'll be interesting. Yeah,
- 12:50Speaker 1: there was Obama talking about President Trump banning CNN, MSNBC
- 12:57Speaker 1: and Politico from the White House.
- 12:59Speaker 2: You just can't come to the White House press briefings
- 13:03Speaker 2: anymore because you're giving the current president unfavorable coverage. I'm
- 13:09Speaker 2: trying to think what would have happened if I had said,
- 13:12Speaker 2: you know what, Fox News, you're out of here. It's unimaginable.
- 13:18Speaker 1: Well, he forgot to mention that he did that. Yeah,
- 13:21Speaker 1: they tried to ban Fox News. Now, the difference is
- 13:23Speaker 1: Obama backed down. There was tremendous flack. But it's interesting.
- 13:28Speaker 1: If you go to my Twitter, you can see the
- 13:29Speaker 1: video of all this. CNN was pushing for Fox to
- 13:32Speaker 1: be banned. MSNBC was pushing for Fox to be banned
- 13:37Speaker 1: from the White House. And Obama tried to do it,
- 13:42Speaker 1: but he backed down. This is the difference. You know,
- 13:44Speaker 1: Trump is like, Trump's like a maniac. He never backs down.
- 13:47Speaker 1: It doesn't matter what kind of opposition he'll keep going.
- 13:51Speaker 1: And remember, Joe Biden blocked 440 reporters. He took their
- 13:55Speaker 1: credentials away. 440 reporters he didn't like. Biden took the
- 13:59Speaker 1: credentials away. And you're going to hear if you watch
- 14:03Speaker 1: CNN or MSNBC, this story is false. They simply did
- 14:07Speaker 1: not reapply for their, yeah, well, they didn't think they
- 14:10Speaker 1: had a chance, so they didn't reapply. Trump administration did
- 14:14Speaker 1: block a couple of news organizations in the first term.
- 14:18Speaker 1: First term, they blocked the BBC, Politico, New York Times
- 14:21Speaker 1: from attending certain briefings. Pentagon has blocked reporters from certain areas.
- 14:29Speaker 1: Trump administration restricted and blocked Associated Press a while back.
- 14:33Speaker 1: They're still in court fighting that. They're not getting anywhere
- 14:36Speaker 1: on that. During Trump's first term, he took away the
- 14:39Speaker 1: press credentials of Jim Acosta. Remember that ugly, rude, nasty
- 14:44Speaker 1: CNN guy? He went to court, later got it back.
- 14:48Speaker 1: He got his press pass back. The president said at
- 14:51Speaker 1: the time he wanted to make a point, regardless of
- 14:53Speaker 1: whether the ban held up in court. And that may
- 14:56Speaker 1: be the same thing here that he's doing. So the
- 14:59Speaker 1: AP lawsuit is still stuck in court. They're still banned.
- 15:03Speaker 1: They're not getting anywhere. But... We'll see. Now, the other
- 15:07Speaker 1: thing is just don't let them in the Oval Office.
- 15:11Speaker 1: You could do what they do at the Pentagon. Just
- 15:14Speaker 1: restrict them to certain areas and nowhere else. Hey, we'll
- 15:18Speaker 1: take some calls next. 800-321-0710 is the number.
- 15:20Speaker 2: 800-321-0710.
