- 2:02Speaker 3: Let's start the show off with talking to high school
- 2:04Speaker 3: football Tonight on w CCHS. It's the Hurricane red Skins
- 2:07Speaker 3: on the road against Parkersburg. Chris Lawrence and Aaron Parker
- 2:10Speaker 3: with the call. Chris joints us Now, Chris, good morning,
- 2:13Speaker 3: Good morning, David. Are you kind of going along with
- 2:15Speaker 3: what you've done this week? You've done the morning new
- 2:17Speaker 3: solo this week. You're also going to be doing the
- 2:20Speaker 3: game tonight. You're gonna be refing the game tonight, gonna
- 2:23Speaker 3: be playing a quarterback for both teams.
- 2:25Speaker 5: No, No, I'm going to coach both teams. My playing
- 2:28Speaker 5: days are over.
- 2:29Speaker 3: Let's talk about the Redskins and Parkersburg. What you got
- 2:31Speaker 3: in this game.
- 2:33Speaker 5: It should be a good matchup. Both teams come into
- 2:35Speaker 5: this one in one and really trying to look for
- 2:39Speaker 5: an identity. I think Hurricane specifically. I think their offense
- 2:44Speaker 5: is running like Green's lightning. The defense is where they
- 2:49Speaker 5: need work. They've been through two games here and they've
- 2:51Speaker 5: given up a lot of points and far more than
- 2:53Speaker 5: I think Donny Donny Mays would want him to. But offensively,
- 2:57Speaker 5: he likes where the team is at this point. So
- 2:59Speaker 5: it should be a good one tonight. Parkersburg comes into this,
- 3:03Speaker 5: and they're one in one, like I said, and I
- 3:05Speaker 5: don't think they really know where they are as a team.
- 3:09Speaker 5: And they're an interesting squad as well, because they will
- 3:12Speaker 5: give what the they will take what the defense gives them.
- 3:15Speaker 5: So it'll be interesting to see whether they will run
- 3:17Speaker 5: or pass. My guess is run. I was looking over
- 3:19Speaker 5: the stats last night. Their quarterback through two games hasn't
- 3:23Speaker 5: thrown a touchdown pass yet, so it's them on a
- 3:26Speaker 5: peak too early. Yeah, so it's definitely a running attack.
- 3:29Speaker 5: We'll see how that goes tonight when we get to
- 3:32Speaker 5: get to get together at Historic Stadium Field STADIU.
- 3:35Speaker 3: It's one of the great names of sports. Stadium field.
- 3:37Speaker 5: Yeah, they thought a long time about that. Is it
- 3:39Speaker 5: a stadium or a field? We'll call it both.
- 3:41Speaker 3: Stadium Field coverage begins at.
- 3:43Speaker 5: We'll be on there at seven o'clock from Stadium Field
- 3:45Speaker 5: and the kickoff is at seven thirty. And of course
- 3:47Speaker 5: after the game here on five adadcchs, Fred and Dave
- 3:51Speaker 5: have the Historic Metro News game Night. Indeed, what do
- 3:54Speaker 5: we get on West Virginia Outdoors tomorrow, Well, it's squirrel season.
- 3:57Speaker 5: Opening day is tomorrow, so we'll be talking about that.
- 3:59Speaker 5: We'll also so preview a couple of things that are
- 4:02Speaker 5: going to happen. Next weekend. I'll be I'll be live
- 4:06Speaker 5: not tomorrow, but next weekend. I'll be live at Stonewall
- 4:09Speaker 5: Resort for the annual National Hunting and Fishing Day celebration,
- 4:13Speaker 5: as that has for the last about four three or
- 4:15Speaker 5: four years has been held at the Summit Back Tol Reserve,
- 4:18Speaker 5: but they're moving it back to Stonewall Resort, so that'll
- 4:21Speaker 5: be something new and we'll talk about what's in store there.
- 4:24Speaker 5: Plus and this was I don't know that they meant
- 4:27Speaker 5: for this to happen this way, but the same weekend
- 4:29Speaker 5: next weekend as the West Virginia Trappers Fall Rendezvous and
- 4:32Speaker 5: they have that at Glenville on Friday and Saturday. So
- 4:36Speaker 5: we'll talk to some of the folks with Trappers Association
- 4:38Speaker 5: about what they got going on.
- 4:39Speaker 3: Because man, I love to hang out with those guys.
- 4:42Speaker 5: I love to go up to that thing and just
- 4:44Speaker 5: sit and talk to those fellows because they are an
- 4:45Speaker 5: encyclopedia of outdoors knowledge. You can learn a lot just
- 4:49Speaker 5: sitting around listening to conversations that get together.
- 4:51Speaker 3: And anytime Chris Lawrence says, you can learn something that
- 4:53Speaker 3: these guys must know what they're talking about. All right, Chris,
- 4:57Speaker 3: we'll be listening to night Man. Have save travels up there.
- 5:00Speaker 3: Let's move over to Tom Bragg. Now, he and I
- 5:03Speaker 3: think Matt Murphy are going to have coverage of what
- 5:04Speaker 3: promises to be a good one in Nitro with a
- 5:07Speaker 3: Wildcats take it on Herbert Hoover tonight. Now, Chris is
- 5:10Speaker 3: game the Hurricane game on WCCHS the Hoover games the
- 5:13Speaker 3: season on ninety six one er sister station KWS. Let's
- 5:16Speaker 3: go to Tom Bragg. Tom good morning, welcome back to
- 5:18Speaker 3: the show.
- 5:20Speaker 6: Thanks for having me on. Dave Man. Usually I'm sitting
- 5:22Speaker 6: around listening to Chris. If he's got guys he listens to,
- 5:25Speaker 6: I might need to just skip him and go to
- 5:26Speaker 6: the source.
- 5:27Speaker 3: That was my point I was saying. Anytime Chris Lawrence says, man,
- 5:30Speaker 3: I love to hear and I love to learn stuff
- 5:33Speaker 3: about these outdoors guys, I'm thinking, well, of these guys
- 5:35Speaker 3: must know what the heck they're talking about, then, right right,
- 5:37Speaker 3: all right, let's move to your game tonight, Hoover and Nitro.
- 5:41Speaker 6: Oh big game at underwood Field tonight. A pair of
- 5:44Speaker 6: two and o unbeaten teams in the Cardinal Conference getting
- 5:48Speaker 6: together down there at Nitro. Two really good teams so far.
- 5:51Speaker 6: When they met last year, it was kind of a
- 5:53Speaker 6: similar situation, particularly for Nitro. You know, they start off
- 5:56Speaker 6: two and oh, flying high, scoring a bunch of points.
- 5:59Speaker 6: But they ran into a really off Hoover team in
- 6:00Speaker 6: Week three last year and it kind of stumbled. They
- 6:04Speaker 6: stubbed their toe a little bit and stumbled a little
- 6:06Speaker 6: bit through the middle.
- 6:06Speaker 7: Part of the season.
- 6:07Speaker 6: Wildcats looking to avoid that this year. The other side
- 6:09Speaker 6: of that, Hoover off to a two and oh start
- 6:11Speaker 6: for the first time in a couple of years. They
- 6:13Speaker 6: hadn't been able to get over the hump against Winfield
- 6:15Speaker 6: in the regular season, had a pretty good game against
- 6:17Speaker 6: the Generals last week, ended up winning that game thirty
- 6:19Speaker 6: five to nineteen. Was maybe a little bit closer than
- 6:22Speaker 6: the score indicated, but there was also a late touchdown
- 6:24Speaker 6: that came off the board for Hoover. So what do
- 6:26Speaker 6: I know, right, Dave? But yeah, man, two really good
- 6:30Speaker 6: teams and a lot of the focus here tonight is
- 6:32Speaker 6: going to be on the quarterback of Paris Seniors. Dane
- 6:35Speaker 6: Hatfield from Herbert Hoover and Josh Moody from Nitro, two
- 6:39Speaker 6: of the best, if not the two best quarterbacks here
- 6:41Speaker 6: in the Kanaw Valley this season, and two of the
- 6:44Speaker 6: best in the state. I figure they're going to put
- 6:45Speaker 6: on a show for being Matt tonight.
- 6:46Speaker 3: It's going to be a great one again. And this
- 6:48Speaker 3: one's in Nitro tonight, a couple of undefeated teams, Nitro
- 6:51Speaker 3: Wildcats and the Herbert Hoover Huskies. And this is on
- 6:55Speaker 3: our sister station nine to six to one KWS. Coverage
- 6:58Speaker 3: begins tom at what time covers begins.
- 7:00Speaker 6: The game kicks off at seven, so we'll be on
- 7:02Speaker 6: about six fifty five, six fifty leading in.
- 7:04Speaker 3: All right, we'll be listening, Tom. I appreciate you being here.
- 7:07Speaker 8: Man.
- 7:07Speaker 3: Have a great game tonight.
- 7:09Speaker 6: Hey, thanks Dave, we'll talk next week.
- 7:10Speaker 3: All right again, Tom Bragg, Well, he and Matt Guitarmur
- 7:13Speaker 3: If you will have coverage of Hoover and Nitro tonight.
- 7:15Speaker 3: Chris Lawrence and Aaron Parker will have coverage on w
- 7:19Speaker 3: CCHS of the Parkersburg and Hurricane game to Dave Allen
- 7:22Speaker 3: Show and five any live presented department by General Hardware
- 7:25Speaker 3: of Winfield and Milton and General Lumber of Winfield for
- 7:28Speaker 3: all projects big and small. Shop locally visit General Hardware,
- 7:31Speaker 3: WV dot com, Say Democratic Party Chair and Delicate Mike
- 7:35Speaker 3: Pushkin coming up a little bit later on. Let's now
- 7:37Speaker 3: go to Hannah Gardner from the Kenaw Charlest New Main
- 7:39Speaker 3: Association with this week's Adopt Me Please Pet of the Week. Hannah,
- 7:43Speaker 3: good morning, welcome to the show.
- 7:45Speaker 9: Good morning, how are you?
- 7:46Speaker 3: Don't find you?
- 7:47Speaker 10: Will?
- 7:47Speaker 3: You and I haven't talked in a while because I
- 7:49Speaker 3: was on vacation and and I think you had a
- 7:51Speaker 3: little sickness that rolled through the area up to the
- 7:54Speaker 3: shelter last week. Glad to know that you folks are
- 7:57Speaker 3: doing well. Welcome back.
- 8:00Speaker 9: I feel much better now, so thank you. I'm glad
- 8:02Speaker 9: to be back.
- 8:04Speaker 3: So before I do want to touch on Kettra Caneines
- 8:07Speaker 3: because that is your big event that's going to be
- 8:09Speaker 3: going on tomorrow at the Red Carpet Lounge. We will
- 8:11Speaker 3: get to that a little bit later on. But our
- 8:13Speaker 3: pet of the week it's a dog named Rommy. And
- 8:17Speaker 3: as always, pictures are posted on Dave Island Radio and
- 8:20Speaker 3: Facebook and at Dave A seventy on x tell us
- 8:23Speaker 3: all about Rommy Hannah.
- 8:26Speaker 9: All right, Well, Rommy is a very very sweet girl.
- 8:30Speaker 9: She prefers calmer dogs as friends, and she does pull
- 8:36Speaker 9: on the leash a little bit, so she could use
- 8:37Speaker 9: a little bit of work with that. But other than that,
- 8:41Speaker 9: she is around two ish years old, and we go
- 8:45Speaker 9: by their guns and their teeth, so it could be
- 8:46Speaker 9: a roundabout, but that's pretty a good ustimate of where
- 8:50Speaker 9: she is at an age. And she is six already,
- 8:54Speaker 9: so she is ready to go home. And I believe
- 8:57Speaker 9: she is fully evaccinated and clitips, so she's got that
- 9:02Speaker 9: already and she'll be ready to go home with you
- 9:04Speaker 9: if you're ready to adopt her or even foster her.
- 9:07Speaker 9: She is a foster candidate, so if you wanted to
- 9:10Speaker 9: come up and you're not quite ready to make that
- 9:12Speaker 9: full on commitment until you see how she is at home,
- 9:16Speaker 9: because everything that we say is at the shelter, not
- 9:19Speaker 9: in the home, so it can be very different when
- 9:21Speaker 9: you take a dog home. However, she is a good
- 9:25Speaker 9: fist foster candidate and would love to go home and
- 9:28Speaker 9: hang out with you and see how your life is
- 9:30Speaker 9: and you can see how hers is. But she's a
- 9:33Speaker 9: very very sweet girl. She is ready to go home.
- 9:36Speaker 9: She is around I believe forty six to forty five
- 9:41Speaker 9: forty six pounds now. She is fully grown, so she's
- 9:45Speaker 9: not going to get any bigger or anything like that,
- 9:47Speaker 9: but she might fill out. Depends on how you feed
- 9:49Speaker 9: her and how you take care of her. But her
- 9:52Speaker 9: exercise me that'd say are pretty average. She can be
- 9:56Speaker 9: laid back, but she can also be a very playful
- 9:58Speaker 9: girl as well. So but when it comes to other dogs,
- 10:02Speaker 9: she does prefer dogs that are also more laid back,
- 10:06Speaker 9: maybe can play with a little bit here and there,
- 10:08Speaker 9: but she doesn't really care too much for dogs that
- 10:11Speaker 9: are more hyperactive. That's not really her type of her
- 10:14Speaker 9: type of dog, so she would benefit with a sibling
- 10:18Speaker 9: that maybe is already older a little bit and is
- 10:23Speaker 9: kind of not it's already out of that hyperactive pubby stage.
- 10:28Speaker 9: But she's a really, really sweet girl. And look at
- 10:31Speaker 9: her picture because she is so cute and she's an
- 10:34Speaker 9: all black dog with the white on her chest. But
- 10:37Speaker 9: she is ready to go home.
- 10:39Speaker 3: Beautiful dog. And again that Romney's picture posted on my
- 10:42Speaker 3: social media. Let's talk about cakes for canines. Red Carpet
- 10:46Speaker 3: Lounge Elizabeth Street, give us all the information, the time,
- 10:48Speaker 3: surprises and whatnot, because it's happening tomorrow, right, Yes, it is.
- 10:52Speaker 9: Happening tomorrow and it is going to be at the
- 10:55Speaker 9: Red Carpet Lounge. I believe there's a good bit of
- 10:58Speaker 9: people going that have ourre you bought tickets, So if
- 11:01Speaker 9: you want to buy a ticket, you can go on
- 11:03Speaker 9: to Kennell Telston's Man Association's Facebook and we have been
- 11:08Speaker 9: sharing everything we post to the kegsper Canine twenty twenty
- 11:12Speaker 9: four Facebook page where you can find the tickets to
- 11:16Speaker 9: bottom and you can also see the exact location that
- 11:20Speaker 9: it's going to be at with the directions to there.
- 11:23Speaker 9: And it's going to be from two pm to six
- 11:25Speaker 9: pm tomorrow, so we're hoping to see as many people
- 11:28Speaker 9: as we can. It is our annual groupest to help
- 11:32Speaker 9: support the shelter Pets, and we'll be tailgating before the
- 11:37Speaker 9: West Virginia University versus pit games.
- 11:39Speaker 3: There seems to be a ballgame tomorrow that the people are
- 11:42Speaker 3: interested in. Yeah, so that'll that'll be up there as well,
- 11:48Speaker 3: and it's just it's just a good good time And
- 11:50Speaker 3: as you said, tomorrow afternoon, now myself and Steve Animal
- 11:53Speaker 3: from nine eight seven of the Mountain. I know Steve
- 11:55Speaker 3: is always a regular down there. We are going to
- 11:56Speaker 3: be hanging out at Ribfest tomorrow afternoon, but we're going
- 11:59Speaker 3: to try our best to make an appearance at the
- 12:01Speaker 3: Red Carpet at some point. To Mark Is, it's a
- 12:02Speaker 3: cause that we definitely both agree with. So you got
- 12:06Speaker 3: the kegs, you got the k nines, and you got
- 12:08Speaker 3: the WVU pit game. What more could you want?
- 12:10Speaker 9: Right exactly? And you can bring your own animals from
- 12:14Speaker 9: home as well.
- 12:15Speaker 3: Okay, you can bring your own animals, all right, that's cool,
- 12:18Speaker 3: that's good stuff, all right, all right, So and when
- 12:20Speaker 3: will you actually have animals from the shelter there?
- 12:23Speaker 9: Yeah, so we will have our caravan okay out in
- 12:26Speaker 9: the like the road right beside of Red Carpet, so
- 12:29Speaker 9: right when you walk in, you'll be able to see
- 12:31Speaker 9: all the caravan animals. I believe we'll have puppies, We
- 12:35Speaker 9: might have some older dogs, and then we may if
- 12:38Speaker 9: we can have kittens. However, kittens get a lot more
- 12:41Speaker 9: stressed in car rides, so it all depends on candidate is.
- 12:45Speaker 3: Yeah. I've had three in my adult years, and not
- 12:49Speaker 3: one of them was was really fond of of taking
- 12:51Speaker 3: a ride in the car. So again it starts around
- 12:54Speaker 3: two o'clock tomorrow afternoon, is it right, Yeah, two to
- 12:58Speaker 3: six at the Red Carpet Lounge and again and tickets
- 13:01Speaker 3: are available from you can just follow your guys website
- 13:04Speaker 3: and there's information on your social media pages as well.
- 13:07Speaker 3: Before we let you go, how are the numbers looking
- 13:09Speaker 3: up there?
- 13:11Speaker 9: We're still pretty pretty cool. We've still been struggling with
- 13:16Speaker 9: kennel space and I still think we have around the
- 13:20Speaker 9: same amount, which is around two to three I think
- 13:24Speaker 9: actually now it's raised. I've just looked at it said
- 13:27Speaker 9: it was around four hundred animals in our care. That
- 13:30Speaker 9: does include animals that are in shelter as well as
- 13:33Speaker 9: in foster homes, because we still do provide everything for
- 13:36Speaker 9: the animals in foster homes. So we are still really
- 13:39Speaker 9: hot up there, and we are encouraging everybody to come
- 13:41Speaker 9: out foster some dogs for the weekend, for a week
- 13:45Speaker 9: or two however long you may want to, and then
- 13:48Speaker 9: also adopt if you can. We absolutely love it, and
- 13:50Speaker 9: of course, as always, we need every bit of volunteer
- 13:53Speaker 9: help that we can get.
- 13:54Speaker 3: All right, and we'll see you tomorrow. As I said,
- 13:57Speaker 3: Steve and I will make an appearance there at some
- 13:58Speaker 3: point tomorrow. We're going to be at Ripest, but we
- 14:00Speaker 3: will be stopping by tomorrow to see you. So we'll
- 14:02Speaker 3: see you then. Good luck with everything, Thanks a lot.
- 14:05Speaker 3: Thanks you with either and a gardener from the Kannala
- 14:07Speaker 3: Charlesty Main Association with this week's Adopt Me Please Pet
- 14:10Speaker 3: of the Week. Rummy is our dog, two years old
- 14:12Speaker 3: female spade, micro chipped and vaccinated. Prefers to be around
- 14:16Speaker 3: calmber dogs. Could use a little least training, but overall
- 14:19Speaker 3: loves people, very playful, laid back, around forty six pounds.
- 14:23Speaker 3: Came in as astray in his hand and said also
- 14:25Speaker 3: available for fostering. So if you'd like to just kind
- 14:28Speaker 3: of hang out maybe for the weekend or for the
- 14:30Speaker 3: day or whatever with Rummy, just get in touch with
- 14:32Speaker 3: those folks up at the shelter and again kegs for
- 14:35Speaker 3: canines at the Red Carpet Lounge tomorrow starts at two o'clock.
- 14:38Speaker 3: Get your tickets on the website of the Charleston Humane Association.
- 14:43Speaker 3: But Dave Allen Show and five Adye Live brought to
- 14:45Speaker 3: you a part by Hustand's pizza. This month at your

- 14:52Speaker 3: ninety nine. In Texas Day, the dumping, abandoning, neglect, and
- 14:55Speaker 3: abuse of innocent cats and dogs all around the state
- 14:58Speaker 3: has got to stop again. To members of the state legislature,
- 15:01Speaker 3: when you go into special session, you have got to
- 15:03Speaker 3: address the laws about this. The heartless, soulless monsters that
- 15:07Speaker 3: do these evil things because they know nothing will be
- 15:09Speaker 3: done to them, so they will never have to pay
- 15:12Speaker 3: to properly care for their sweet innocent pets, which they
- 15:15Speaker 3: do not deserve. This needed to stop yesterday. So that's
- 15:18Speaker 3: a texture I would agree. In the heart of West Virginia,
- 15:22Speaker 3: there exists a profound force that goes beyond the realm
- 15:24Speaker 3: of sports, transcending limitations and fostering a sense of belonging.
- 15:27Speaker 3: Special Olympics, a remarkable initiative showcase of the latest episode

- 19:52Speaker 15: I came in early. I heard on the car. I
- 19:55Speaker 15: was driving across town and had the radio on in
- 19:58Speaker 15: the car and I heard, you know, was Rummy, Rummy, Rummy, Rummy, Tommy.
- 20:02Speaker 15: I heard you talking about Rummy. I was hoping Rummy
- 20:04Speaker 15: would be here because you know that, you know I
- 20:06Speaker 15: love dogs. I was hoping to be in here in
- 20:08Speaker 15: the studio with Rummy. I was very disappointed when I
- 20:11Speaker 15: got here and it was just you.
- 20:13Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm sorry. Well, we did the best we could.
- 20:15Speaker 3: But Rummy's good like a dog. Maybe you've got a
- 20:17Speaker 3: dog now, don't you.
- 20:17Speaker 15: I have two dogs and a cat, and I love
- 20:19Speaker 15: my pets. Dearly, And I just want to say, if
- 20:21Speaker 15: somebody's listening to this show in Springfield, Ohio, we're gonna
- 20:25Speaker 15: need a couple of character references.
- 20:27Speaker 8: They're eating the dogs, the people that came in, they're
- 20:30Speaker 8: eating the cats.
- 20:31Speaker 15: That's right, Canell Charleston Humane Association. It's not grub hub.
- 20:38Speaker 15: How ridiculous is that anyway for the former president of
- 20:42Speaker 15: the United States to just let's talk about that, about
- 20:45Speaker 15: how ridiculous it is for him just to spread internet
- 20:49Speaker 15: rumors and completely you know, unfounded urban legends that somebody
- 20:54Speaker 15: posted about on Facebook and he wants to use that
- 20:57Speaker 15: as a as a point during a debate. That's ridiculous,
- 21:01Speaker 15: unfit for the for office. That's what I said.
- 21:04Speaker 3: That's that's going to be the one thing Coop and
- 21:06Speaker 3: I were actually talking about this in the office earlier.
- 21:08Speaker 3: That seems to be the one thing that every one
- 21:11Speaker 3: or two things, one of the top things that everybody
- 21:13Speaker 3: is is taking away from that was that statement. And
- 21:16Speaker 3: again as soon as I said it about it being unfounded,
- 21:19Speaker 3: I got and I appreciate it. I always appreciate my
- 21:21Speaker 3: callers and textures, but I had people sending me clips, well,
- 21:25Speaker 3: this is this is not made up. This is what's
- 21:27Speaker 3: going on. It is actually going on, except.
- 21:30Speaker 15: There are absolutely no records of any calls being made
- 21:34Speaker 15: to the Springfield, Ohio Police Department in regards uh to
- 21:39Speaker 15: you know, people eating their dogs and kids. There was
- 21:42Speaker 15: I feel there was a scene.
- 21:44Speaker 3: There was a story out of Canton, Ohio, but there's
- 21:47Speaker 3: no reason to think that the two were related. Now,
- 21:50Speaker 3: there have been people that have talked about it in.
- 21:52Speaker 15: Spring I think that was about the Cleveland Browns. Yeah,
- 21:54Speaker 15: well there's a lot of the you know, they have
- 21:56Speaker 15: the dogs.
- 21:56Speaker 3: Well you've seen the meme floating around about the Bengals
- 21:58Speaker 3: and the Browns. There's a lot of cats and was
- 22:00Speaker 3: being killed in Ohio, right and including by my cowboys
- 22:02Speaker 3: last week. But you know, sorry, Amanda Baron, but I
- 22:06Speaker 3: mean for that to be the thing that people are
- 22:10Speaker 3: taking away from this debate, it was a it was
- 22:14Speaker 3: a bad performance. I'm sorry, and I'm not letting and
- 22:16Speaker 3: people know how I feel about Donald Trump. Voted for
- 22:18Speaker 3: him twice, won't again. But that was a really truly
- 22:22Speaker 3: bad performance.
- 22:24Speaker 15: It was very and if you think about all the
- 22:25Speaker 15: great quotes and presidential debates, you know, whether it's Ronald
- 22:28Speaker 15: Reagan saying, you know, there you go again, or was
- 22:33Speaker 15: it that said, uh, you know, no, you're no John Kennedy.
- 22:37Speaker 3: Yeah, Reagan said about Mondale because there was a lot
- 22:40Speaker 3: in eighty four there was some talk about Reagan being
- 22:42Speaker 3: too old, and he said, I will not let age
- 22:44Speaker 3: be a factor. I will not exploit my opponent's youth,
- 22:48Speaker 3: which were whether you like Reagan or not. That was
- 22:49Speaker 3: a great line.
- 22:51Speaker 15: All these great lines from from debates in the past,
- 22:54Speaker 15: and the line you're going to take away from this
- 22:56Speaker 15: is how to go again?
- 22:57Speaker 8: Deal there eating the dogs, the people that came in,
- 23:02Speaker 8: they're eating the cats.
- 23:04Speaker 15: Yeah, that's what's going to be remembered from this debate.
- 23:06Speaker 15: But what we should also remember is not just that
- 23:09Speaker 15: Trump had a historically bad performance, is there's probably the
- 23:12Speaker 15: strongest debate performance I've ever seen on the part of
- 23:16Speaker 15: Vice President Harris. I mean, people are saying it is
- 23:19Speaker 15: the strongest debate performance since you know, nineteen sixty Kennedy
- 23:23Speaker 15: versus Nixon. I think we're a little bit too young
- 23:26Speaker 15: to remember that. I've seen clips of it. That was
- 23:28Speaker 15: a pretty substantial debate. This was too I think in
- 23:33Speaker 15: this election cycle, a lot of times I think, you know,
- 23:36Speaker 15: debates don't really move the needle. But I think you've
- 23:38Speaker 15: had two debates that were monumental. Oh yeah, the first
- 23:42Speaker 15: debate definitely changed things. We now have a different nominee
- 23:46Speaker 15: at the top of the ticket, and she came out
- 23:49Speaker 15: and showed everybody that she's presidential. She is competent, qualified,
- 23:55Speaker 15: calm under pressure, and just you know, was a was
- 24:00Speaker 15: really a masterclass in a debate performance. She just laid
- 24:03Speaker 15: out the traps and he stepped right.
- 24:05Speaker 3: It would have been Mike, Yeah, I said this earlier
- 24:08Speaker 3: this week. It would have been so easy for him
- 24:12Speaker 3: to do better than what he did if he would
- 24:15Speaker 3: have just but Donald Trump can't help himself. That's the thing.
- 24:18Speaker 3: He cannot get out of his own way. And when
- 24:22Speaker 3: his ego, and for anybody that's been around him has
- 24:25Speaker 3: said this that he has a very he's a very
- 24:27Speaker 3: shallow when it comes to that. If he feels his
- 24:30Speaker 3: ego or his manhood or whatever is being challenged, he
- 24:33Speaker 3: immediately goes on the defense. And it was not a
- 24:36Speaker 3: good look for him. Had he just, in my opinion,
- 24:39Speaker 3: if he asked me, had he just not gone off
- 24:42Speaker 3: the ridiculousness and kept going And you know, back to
- 24:45Speaker 3: the things he did. Had he just said, let's talk economy,
- 24:49Speaker 3: because the polls have showed over and over again, this
- 24:52Speaker 3: is the number one thing people are concerned about. It's
- 24:54Speaker 3: not the border, it's not even the situation in Israel
- 24:58Speaker 3: and Gaza. The number one thing is the economy. Now,
- 25:01Speaker 3: you and I can argue over that, but you would
- 25:03Speaker 3: agree that had he if you, if you were coaching Trump,
- 25:06Speaker 3: if if you just said, let's just talk about the economy,
- 25:09Speaker 3: let's just talk about the things that the average people
- 25:12Speaker 3: care about, he would have been a heck of a
- 25:14Speaker 3: lot better, would have been.
- 25:16Speaker 15: And I'm sure I would imagine that if his coaches
- 25:19Speaker 15: were probably coaching him to do that. But he has
- 25:22Speaker 15: shown time and time again that he lacks the self
- 25:24Speaker 15: discipline to stay on message and instead treats it like
- 25:28Speaker 15: a rally where you can talk about, you know, people
- 25:31Speaker 15: eating dogs and cats, so you can talk about, you know,
- 25:34Speaker 15: giving a legal immigrants, you know, transgender surgery in prison,
- 25:39Speaker 15: or all the crazy stuff that he said. That might
- 25:41Speaker 15: play well to people who you know, show up at
- 25:45Speaker 15: a rally, and that's fewer and fewer people.
- 25:47Speaker 3: It played well to his base.
- 25:48Speaker 15: That might play well to the base, but when you're
- 25:50Speaker 15: talking about you know, sixty million people across the country
- 25:53Speaker 15: tuning in and seeing deciding who the next president of
- 25:56Speaker 15: the United States should be. It doesn't play. It comes
- 25:58Speaker 15: off as crazy.
- 26:00Speaker 3: It comes off, and it comes off as making him
- 26:01Speaker 3: look completely unhinged. Uh for off, which is the way
- 26:04Speaker 3: which I mean.
- 26:05Speaker 15: I've heard some of the uh, you know, the the
- 26:08Speaker 15: respond and people trying to spin it one way or
- 26:10Speaker 15: the other. But I don't think there's any other way
- 26:11Speaker 15: to spin it. There was a clear winner in that debate,
- 26:14Speaker 15: and I don't think there's any any debate in that.

- 26:42Speaker 3: Actually, let's go to the phones. Good morning, you're on
- 26:45Speaker 3: the air.
- 26:46Speaker 10: Yes, I got a question from Mike. When was the
- 26:50Speaker 10: last Democratic nominee that did not win a primary?
- 26:57Speaker 15: The last Democratic nominee that did it? Well, you know,
- 27:01Speaker 15: I believe in in UH. You know, in sixty eight
- 27:04Speaker 15: there was a strange case like that where the where
- 27:06Speaker 15: the UH sitting president decided not to run. But no,
- 27:10Speaker 15: this is unprecedented that that the one who the nominee,
- 27:14Speaker 15: the sitting president decided very late in the game, UH
- 27:19Speaker 15: to pass the torch on. But we'd had a convention
- 27:24Speaker 15: and that's where the party nominates our nominee, and the
- 27:27Speaker 15: party is more united than ever behind Vice President Kamala Harris.
- 27:33Speaker 15: And she showed us why on Tuesday night. She showed
- 27:35Speaker 15: us that she is fit to be president. She's been
- 27:38Speaker 15: the vice president for the past three and a half years.
- 27:41Speaker 15: She you know, was competent, calm uh, you know, just
- 27:48Speaker 15: did an excellent job and showed us how how a
- 27:51Speaker 15: president is supposed to act. Meanwhile, on the other side,
- 27:54Speaker 15: you had somebody who was completely unglued, ranting about internet
- 28:00Speaker 15: posts and urban legends and and just only playing to
- 28:04Speaker 15: the base.
- 28:05Speaker 3: Let's let's get back to the caller. Your point of
- 28:08Speaker 3: bringing that up.
- 28:08Speaker 10: Sir, h Well, the people did not elect her to
- 28:15Speaker 10: be the nominee, but the convention did.
- 28:19Speaker 15: Well. I can I ask you a question. Did you
- 28:21Speaker 15: vote in the Democratic primary? Yes, you voted in them
- 28:25Speaker 15: Democratic primary.
- 28:27Speaker 10: Yes, I'm Democrat, but I voted. Yes, I've voted in
- 28:31Speaker 10: the Democratic primary because they wouldn't let me vote.
- 28:33Speaker 15: Never public because you're a registered Democrat. Right, Okay, Well,
- 28:37Speaker 15: I'm glad that you're with us. But I think most
- 28:40Speaker 15: of the most Democrats that I've talked to are are
- 28:43Speaker 15: very happy to have her at the top of the ticket.
- 28:45Speaker 15: We're more united than I've ever seen this party, uh,
- 28:50Speaker 15: and more enthusiastic and energetic. And I'll tell you that
- 28:53Speaker 15: our county headquarters across the state have been very busy
- 28:56Speaker 15: with people coming in for the first time, maybe their
- 28:58Speaker 15: first time, setting foot county headquarters because they want to
- 29:01Speaker 15: volunteer and they want to help Democrats. And a lot
- 29:04Speaker 15: of that is because of the excitement that is being
- 29:07Speaker 15: generated by the top of the ticket and in the
- 29:09Speaker 15: candidacy of Kamala Harris.
- 29:12Speaker 3: To our caller, are you I'm kind of gathering don't
- 29:15Speaker 3: want to put words in your mouth from but I'm
- 29:17Speaker 3: kind of gathering that you're not exactly thrilled that Kamala
- 29:19Speaker 3: Harris is the Democrat nominee.
- 29:22Speaker 10: That's correct because again, like I said, Trump received hundreds
- 29:29Speaker 10: and millions of votes across the country in primaries, and
- 29:37Speaker 10: the vice president did not receive one.
- 29:41Speaker 15: Well, she received all of the votes from the elected
- 29:46Speaker 15: delegates to the convention. And here in West Virginia, we
- 29:50Speaker 15: actually selected our delegates to the convention in a very
- 29:53Speaker 15: democratic process. We had county conventions where we selected delegates
- 29:57Speaker 15: to our state convention, and those at the state we
- 30:00Speaker 15: elected our national delegates to Chicago. And meanwhile, on the
- 30:04Speaker 15: Republican side, they changed the law during a special session
- 30:08Speaker 15: this year so they could select their delegates not by
- 30:12Speaker 15: having county conventions and a state convention, but their executive
- 30:15Speaker 15: committee did it behind closed doors. So let's see, we
- 30:19Speaker 15: had a very democratic, open, transparent process, and we entrust
- 30:23Speaker 15: those delegates that we send to the convention to make
- 30:26Speaker 15: the right decision. But technically that's where we nominate our
- 30:31Speaker 15: candidate for president. And I feel we have a pretty
- 30:34Speaker 15: strong candidate for president and that was very much on
- 30:37Speaker 15: display Tuesday night.
- 30:39Speaker 3: Coler, do you have another statement before we let you
- 30:40Speaker 3: go because we got another call to get to.
- 30:42Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 30:42Speaker 7: When we.
- 30:45Speaker 10: Elected our delegates in the primary, we assumed because they
- 30:51Speaker 10: were attached to a candidate, the assumption was that they
- 31:01Speaker 10: were going to be connected to Biden.
- 31:03Speaker 15: Well that was more than an assumption. That was they
- 31:05Speaker 15: were pledged to vote for Biden. But when President Biden
- 31:10Speaker 15: so honorably, you know, put his own personal ambition aside
- 31:15Speaker 15: and did for the good of the country, in my opinion,
- 31:18Speaker 15: to protect our Democratic Republic, and stepped aside for a
- 31:22Speaker 15: stronger candidate, well, those delegates were free to vote for
- 31:26Speaker 15: whomever they choose because he released his delegates, all right,
- 31:29Speaker 15: and then we had a convention and we unanimously nominated
- 31:34Speaker 15: Vice President Kamala Harris because she's the obvious choice, and
- 31:37Speaker 15: once again she showed that to everybody Tuesday night.
- 31:40Speaker 3: All Right, Cala, we appreciate that. Twenty two minutes away
- 31:42Speaker 3: from tam Let's go to another call. Let's talk to
- 31:44Speaker 3: Ron and Tay's Valley. You're on with the state Democratic
- 31:47Speaker 3: Party chair and Dell get Mike Pushkin.
- 31:48Speaker 16: Go ahead, Hey, good morning, Thank you for taking Thank
- 31:52Speaker 16: you for taking my call.
- 31:54Speaker 3: Absolutely.
- 31:55Speaker 16: Yeah, I would just say that the outcome of that
- 32:01Speaker 16: debate was determined before it even begun. That was a
- 32:05Speaker 16: horrible job by ABC News. If you just go and
- 32:10Speaker 16: think about the first question that she was asked, Hey,
- 32:14Speaker 16: are you Are the people of America better off today
- 32:17Speaker 16: than they were four years ago? She did not even
- 32:21Speaker 16: answer the question, nor was there any accountability to hold
- 32:25Speaker 16: her to actually answering the question.
- 32:28Speaker 7: So, Mike.
- 32:30Speaker 16: The question, No, that's not why I'm calling. I really
- 32:34Speaker 16: don't care what you think. If we are my only
- 32:38Speaker 16: hope would be that the Democratic Party in West Virginia
- 32:42Speaker 16: never gets power again. If you believe she is the
- 32:45Speaker 16: right person for the country, she was never asked for.
- 32:50Speaker 16: It concerns me that you would want her leading the country.
- 32:53Speaker 16: The fact that she is hidden, the fact that President
- 32:56Speaker 16: Biden has not been cognitively she was never even asked
- 33:02Speaker 16: about that. So it for you to say she wanted
- 33:07Speaker 16: a debate. You're as passionate about her platform and delivery
- 33:13Speaker 16: as folks that support President Trump. And do I like
- 33:18Speaker 16: everything President Trump says?
- 33:20Speaker 9: No?
- 33:21Speaker 16: Do I like how he says it all the time?
- 33:23Speaker 3: No?
- 33:23Speaker 16: But do I believe that his policies and his intentions
- 33:28Speaker 16: are good for the country. Absolutely, So, as you want
- 33:33Speaker 16: to think, oh it, he speaks to his base. That's
- 33:37Speaker 16: all she does is speaks to the Democratic base. So
- 33:43Speaker 16: you know there is a difference of opinion. And just
- 33:46Speaker 16: because you said as the Democratic Party chairman on the
- 33:49Speaker 16: radio doesn't make you the perfect person to say she
- 33:55Speaker 16: should be the next president because you're as biased as
- 33:58Speaker 16: someone is as passionate about President that Trump or conservative value.
- 34:02Speaker 3: We appreciate your phone call.
- 34:04Speaker 15: Nobody's perfect, and I'd never claimed to be. But I
- 34:07Speaker 15: think any people in the middle who watch that debate,
- 34:10Speaker 15: I don't think how they could come to any other conclusions.
- 34:13Speaker 15: Let me let me finish for a second.
- 34:16Speaker 3: Go ahead and interrupt me.
- 34:16Speaker 15: Go ahead, nook ahead, Yeah, get go ahead. I was
- 34:18Speaker 15: going to answer your question, Well, go ahead, yeah.
- 34:21Speaker 16: So do you think she's aware or has been aware
- 34:24Speaker 16: President Biden's cognitive decline over the past couple of years,
- 34:29Speaker 16: and do you think she's hitting that from the American people?
- 34:32Speaker 15: I think that the job that they have done has
- 34:36Speaker 15: shown that he is capable. I'm answering your question.
- 34:39Speaker 16: Okay, cool, that's typical spin. You're just like her. You
- 34:42Speaker 16: don't want to answer the question. You want to put
- 34:45Speaker 16: your own context around something.
- 34:47Speaker 15: Well, there's a fact of life that people do get older,
- 34:50Speaker 15: and he is. He has gotten older obviously since he
- 34:52Speaker 15: was first elected. However, the job that he has done,
- 34:55Speaker 15: would you let me finish for a second, the job
- 34:56Speaker 15: that he has done, showing he's more than capable of
- 34:58Speaker 15: doing the job. Do you know where we were four
- 35:01Speaker 15: years ago? We're in the midst of a pandemic because
- 35:04Speaker 15: we had an incredibly irresponsible, irresponsible president the helm who
- 35:09Speaker 15: did not do a very good job in responding to
- 35:12Speaker 15: the pandemic. So our economy was in the tank stretch,
- 35:17Speaker 15: not a stretch at all. Who was the president four
- 35:19Speaker 15: years ago? Truck and our country was ravaged by this pandemic.
- 35:23Speaker 15: What did he do when he got in there? He
- 35:25Speaker 15: fired Obama's pandemic response team.
- 35:28Speaker 3: That's a fact.
- 35:28Speaker 15: That's not a stretch.
- 35:30Speaker 3: Let the call a fan stritch.
- 35:32Speaker 16: You didn't answer the question. The question was do you
- 35:36Speaker 16: think she was aware? And she is hidden the fact
- 35:39Speaker 16: that she was aware of his cognitive decline and she's
- 35:42Speaker 16: kicked that from the American people. You want to use
- 35:45Speaker 16: the platform just to talk about your agenda and your
- 35:50Speaker 16: thoughts on something. The question was do you think she
- 35:55Speaker 16: was aware of his decline? And she is hidden it
- 35:58Speaker 16: from the American people.
- 35:59Speaker 15: No, I don't believe she is heading I'm answering it.
- 36:02Speaker 15: She hasn't hidden anything.
- 36:03Speaker 16: Yes she was.
- 36:05Speaker 3: It's clearly I'm gonna say, I'm gonna have to agree
- 36:07Speaker 3: with the caller on this one.
- 36:08Speaker 15: I don't agree with the caller. I don't believe that
- 36:10Speaker 15: she that she's covered up anything. That the job, the
- 36:13Speaker 15: proof is in the pudding and.
- 36:15Speaker 16: It never ever get the chance to have leadership at
- 36:23Speaker 16: a gubernatorial web.
- 36:26Speaker 3: All right, we appreciate your phone call. Thanks a lot.
- 36:29Speaker 3: Tex says, I'll take the word of actual residence of Springfield,
- 36:31Speaker 3: Ohio over any politician who tried to debunk all of
- 36:34Speaker 3: this and trying to cover up her own behinds letting
- 36:36Speaker 3: ten thousand illegals even to Wine confirmed that he did not.
- 36:40Speaker 3: Tex says, Wow, the party knows better than the voters.
- 36:42Speaker 3: Talk about party over the people, says a text. We
- 36:46Speaker 3: got to take a break. I got a caller standing by.
- 36:48Speaker 3: We're back after this and the Voice of Charleston WCCHS.

- 38:48Speaker 3: fifty eight. Tony the Taylor Text three zero four nine
- 38:50Speaker 3: three five five zero zero eight.
- 38:52Speaker 15: Yeah, I just I don't feel like I had a
- 38:54Speaker 15: chance to respond, so thanks for giving me this opportunity.
- 38:56Speaker 15: Dave to the previous caller talking about you know, Biden's
- 39:01Speaker 15: you know, the state of Biden's health. Yeah, it's a
- 39:03Speaker 15: fact of life. He is getting older. He's not the
- 39:06Speaker 15: same president he was when he was first elected four
- 39:10Speaker 15: years ago. However, if you look at the job that
- 39:12Speaker 15: has been done by the Biden Harris administration and even
- 39:15Speaker 15: how it's affected West Virginia with monumental legislation. During their
- 39:19Speaker 15: first two years in office, when they had the ability
- 39:21Speaker 15: to actually pass things through a Democratic Senate and a
- 39:24Speaker 15: Democratic House of Representatives, they passed the American Rescue Plan
- 39:28Speaker 15: that was actually able to get money directly to municipalities
- 39:31Speaker 15: and counties to bring us out of the COVID pandemic
- 39:34Speaker 15: that the previous president was so irresponsible about, which, let
- 39:38Speaker 15: you know, put our economy into the tank. Or if
- 39:41Speaker 15: you look at the Pact Act that actually acknowledged what,
- 39:44Speaker 15: you know, some problems we had twenty years ago with
- 39:46Speaker 15: Agent Orange and actually helped our current veterans who are
- 39:50Speaker 15: struggling with what's happened with the burn pits over over
- 39:53Speaker 15: in our you know, in our wars the of this century.
- 39:57Speaker 15: Whether it's the infrastructure that Donald Trump only talked about
- 40:01Speaker 15: every other week, but it wasn't actually able to get
- 40:04Speaker 15: done through that, You've seen tons of investment come into
- 40:06Speaker 15: West Virginia that's been able to lay the groundwork to
- 40:10Speaker 15: bring in some of this good economic news, whether it's
- 40:13Speaker 15: from new corese Steel or Form Energy or Green Motors,
- 40:18Speaker 15: which you know, the Republicans in West Virginia, like Jim
- 40:21Speaker 15: Justice so wrongly try to take credit for when it
- 40:24Speaker 15: actually most of the work was done in Congress and
- 40:28Speaker 15: with the help of Vice President Harris, who was the
- 40:30Speaker 15: deciding vote on a lot of this legislation that has
- 40:33Speaker 15: created this incentive to to make these investments in West Virginia.
- 40:38Speaker 15: They deserve a lot of the credit. So yeah, I
- 40:40Speaker 15: think they've done a good job and it's and it's
- 40:43Speaker 15: helped us here in West Virginia. And you want to
- 40:45Speaker 15: talk about.
- 40:46Speaker 3: Ba I want to go to the college.
- 40:48Speaker 15: Okay, Well, let me say, did you see the exchange
- 40:50Speaker 15: that he had with the Trump with a Trump supporter
- 40:52Speaker 15: at the at the firehouse on September eleventh. He was
- 40:55Speaker 15: able to have this lighthearted exchange with the Trump supporter.
- 40:59Speaker 15: Now think about if that was what have happened in
- 41:01Speaker 15: Putin's Russia. You allowed to have a lighthearted exchange with
- 41:04Speaker 15: Vladimir Putin. What about Victor Orbon that Trump idolizes. He
- 41:08Speaker 15: allowed to have a lighthearted exchange with Victor Orbon? Would
- 41:11Speaker 15: you be allowed to have a lighthearted exchange with Donald Trump?
- 41:13Speaker 15: And that's what's at stake here.
- 41:15Speaker 3: All right, let's go to the phones. Tommy, you're on
- 41:17Speaker 3: with Delegate Pushkin. Go ahead.
- 41:21Speaker 7: Everybody has lighthearted exchanges with Donald Trump all the time.
- 41:26Speaker 7: But the real reason I'm calling is nineteen fifty two,
- 41:31Speaker 7: the Democratic Convention, Adli Stevenson, who was governor of Illinois,
- 41:39Speaker 7: was nominated for the presidency because of conflicts. He was
- 41:44Speaker 7: the compromise candidate. And that's the last time a guy
- 41:49Speaker 7: didn't run in primaries at all and got nominated by
- 41:54Speaker 7: either major party.
- 41:56Speaker 3: All right, thank you, go ahead.
- 41:59Speaker 7: And I can't wait to vote for Williams for governor.
- 42:07Speaker 15: I think he's a great candidate.
- 42:09Speaker 13: And is it.
- 42:10Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 42:10Speaker 15: The news yesterday was that he asked thank you very
- 42:13Speaker 15: much for the call, and that Steve Williams, the mayor
- 42:17Speaker 15: of Huntington, had called for a debate with the Attorney
- 42:20Speaker 15: General Morrissey, and Morrissey accepted that debate. I think we're
- 42:23Speaker 15: going to be seeing a televised debate between those two
- 42:27Speaker 15: candidates here soon, and that's great for the people of
- 42:29Speaker 15: West Virginia.
- 42:30Speaker 3: Let me knock out a bunch of texts here him justice.
- 42:32Speaker 15: She had agree to debate Glenn Ellie.
- 42:34Speaker 3: The text says the eating pet lie straight out of
- 42:36Speaker 3: neo Nazi propagandat Christopher Paul Halls, leader of the neo
- 42:40Speaker 3: Nazi blood Trip, started this. Why did the Republican candidate
- 42:42Speaker 3: for president so easily accept vile Nazi lies? Says a Texter.
- 42:49Speaker 3: She didn't win the debate, Trump lost it. She was
- 42:50Speaker 3: also helped by the moderators and didn't really answer the
- 42:53Speaker 3: questions they did in fact check her on anything. I look,
- 42:57Speaker 3: I had an issue in Coop and I talked about
- 42:59Speaker 3: this too. I've got an issue with real time fact
- 43:02Speaker 3: checking because when there are a lot of myths, truths,
- 43:06Speaker 3: and sometimes not always lies, but just half true things
- 43:10Speaker 3: that are left out, and both candidates did that the
- 43:12Speaker 3: other night. Well hold on, let me finish, let me finish.
- 43:16Speaker 3: And I've thought I'd ran down the entire list from
- 43:19Speaker 3: nonpartisan sources about things that she didn't maybe didn't tell
- 43:23Speaker 3: the entire truth on okay, So, but if Trump was
- 43:28Speaker 3: telling more half truths or more lies or whatever, you
- 43:31Speaker 3: can't possibly make it equal. And so I in this
- 43:37Speaker 3: crap about the ABC people being connected and her having
- 43:40Speaker 3: an earpiece that's been debunked. It's been debunked over and
- 43:43Speaker 3: over again, but people don't want to hear it. I
- 43:45Speaker 3: just don't. I'm not crazy about the real time fact
- 43:47Speaker 3: checking because in a situation like that, you can't always
- 43:51Speaker 3: keep up with it.
- 43:52Speaker 15: Let me see, I thought they did a good job
- 43:54Speaker 15: with that, and I think that it wasn't. They just
- 43:56Speaker 15: simply stated the fact that's not true.
- 43:59Speaker 3: But there was no in many cases then.
- 44:01Speaker 15: And that doesn't happen enough with Donald Trump, and he's
- 44:04Speaker 15: able to repeat these lies, and he does a fire
- 44:06Speaker 15: hose of lies where he says so many lies that
- 44:08Speaker 15: it's really hard to keep track of him. And you know,
- 44:11Speaker 15: kudos to them for actually pointing it out. Texas, American
- 44:15Speaker 15: people deserve to hear the truth, not just his his
- 44:18Speaker 15: version of it that he can say at a rally
- 44:20Speaker 15: full of supporters and they can cheer, but it's just
- 44:23Speaker 15: simply not true.
- 44:24Speaker 3: Tex says, I'm so much better off now than when
- 44:26Speaker 3: Trump was in charge. Like I've said before, learn how
- 44:28Speaker 3: to read a stock chart. Tex says, now, Mike can
- 44:32Speaker 3: sell that snake of all about Harris. But Biden didn't
- 44:34Speaker 3: step down. He was pushed out, and Pelosi and Obama
- 44:38Speaker 3: were the pushers, says a Texter. Tex says, Dave, are
- 44:41Speaker 3: Trump supporters aware of his cognitive decline and they're covering
- 44:44Speaker 3: it up. There's definitely cognitive decline to have Donald Trump.
- 44:48Speaker 15: I mean, I mean that's after the poor debate for performance.
- 44:51Speaker 15: And by the way, the day after uh, you know,
- 44:55Speaker 15: Biden's poor debate performance. I was on a lot of
- 44:57Speaker 15: the right leaning radio shows and as Virginia called, wanted
- 45:01Speaker 15: me to come on and talk about it, and I did,
- 45:03Speaker 15: and I didn't try to spin it any other way.
- 45:06Speaker 15: He had a really bad night and that's what I
- 45:08Speaker 15: said then.
- 45:08Speaker 3: And it is then the questions came out, well maybe
- 45:13Speaker 3: he should step aside, Well, why aren't we saying the
- 45:15Speaker 3: same thing about Donald Trump?
- 45:16Speaker 15: Because he's definitely in cognitive decline.
- 45:19Speaker 3: I'm not.
- 45:22Speaker 15: If he was ever there to begin with, but well,
- 45:23Speaker 15: I think that the stuff that he's been doing all
- 45:25Speaker 15: along is just getting more and more tired, and people
- 45:27Speaker 15: are tired of hearing this airing of grievances that goes
- 45:31Speaker 15: on instead of actually debating facts. It's all about him.
- 45:34Speaker 15: And that's what something that Harris said that really hit home.
- 45:37Speaker 15: He doesn't talk about you. He talks about himself. It's
- 45:39Speaker 15: always about these grievances against him. You go to his rallies.
- 45:43Speaker 15: One thing you don't hear about is you. You hear about
- 45:45Speaker 15: Donald Trump, and that's we want a leader that puts
- 45:49Speaker 15: us first. That's what public service is all about, not
- 45:53Speaker 15: going in and you know, airing grievances like your Frank
- 45:55Speaker 15: A stands on Festivu.
- 45:57Speaker 3: Feed Tex says, stop making excuses for the crazy. He's
- 46:00Speaker 3: US presidential candidate of all time. If Biden said the
- 46:02Speaker 3: same thing, he would have been kicked out of office,
- 46:04Speaker 3: let alone asks to be able to run again for office.

- 48:50Speaker 3: Tex says Dave Brad will almost certainly be banned again
- 48:52Speaker 3: if he continues to report on leans against the Greenbrier.
- 48:55Speaker 3: This is all just a nothing burger, as we all know,
- 48:58Speaker 3: well everyone else pays or as Jimmy j does whatever
- 49:01Speaker 3: he wants. I think that was sarcasm, Michael.
- 49:03Speaker 15: I denoted some sarcasm name all right.
- 49:06Speaker 3: Uh, Tex says, what is the point in calling in,
- 49:08Speaker 3: Dave when your guest just talks over the caller? Why
- 49:10Speaker 3: are you talking over callers? Michael?
- 49:12Speaker 15: Uh? You know I believe that I tried to get
- 49:16Speaker 15: answer the caller's question and and uh and he wasn't
- 49:19Speaker 15: having it. Well, well, you welcome all callers and all opinions, and.
- 49:23Speaker 3: Then Texas, I'd vote for Pushkin as governor. He has
- 49:27Speaker 3: the gonads for taking calls like that on live radio.
- 49:29Speaker 3: Have you ever seen Morrissey do that? Or Jimbo Capitol note?
- 49:32Speaker 3: Pushkin for governor one day you have deserved Jim.
- 49:35Speaker 15: Justice can't even deal with Brad mcelhaney, who we can
- 49:37Speaker 15: all agree is like the nicest guy in the world,
- 49:39Speaker 15: and I get to do what was your first caller's name?
- 49:42Speaker 3: I don't remember right now.
- 49:43Speaker 15: I'm sorry, Yeah, I get to deal with him. No,
- 49:46Speaker 15: I was speaking of that. We we had a call
- 49:48Speaker 15: for a special session, but just you know, in in
- 49:51Speaker 15: in Jim Justice fashion, uh, there was no work done
- 49:54Speaker 15: ahead of time. He did not build a consensus at
- 49:57Speaker 15: all with the legislature on this, so it could be
- 50:00Speaker 15: a real disaster and the taxpayer is going to be
- 50:03Speaker 15: on the hook for it when we have this special session.
- 50:05Speaker 15: So he's called for an extra cut to the income tax,
- 50:10Speaker 15: even that we've already done that based on economic triggers,
- 50:13Speaker 15: I feel that we should add a trigger in there
- 50:15Speaker 15: to once we find placement for all the six thousand
- 50:17Speaker 15: children in foster care, for every single one of them,
- 50:20Speaker 15: maybe that could trigger another tax cut. Of course, Jim
- 50:24Speaker 15: Justice doesn't really care about tax cuts because he doesn't
- 50:26Speaker 15: pay taxes anyway, it's gonna have no effect on him.
- 50:30Speaker 15: I'm always interested hearing about how we could possibly put
- 50:33Speaker 15: money back in the taxpayer's pocket. That's great. What's interesting
- 50:36Speaker 15: to me, though, is he's got you know, the Uh,
- 50:40Speaker 15: he's got Republican controlled House, Republican controlled Senate, but still
- 50:44Speaker 15: can't seem to build a consensus to even pass a
- 50:46Speaker 15: tax cut. I said, how's he going to get along
- 50:49Speaker 15: in one hundred member Senate?
- 50:51Speaker 3: Yesterday on the show, I be able to do. I
- 50:52Speaker 3: had sent a financier, Eery Tar on the show, and
- 50:54Speaker 3: he's been one. I know you and mister Tarr he
- 50:56Speaker 3: probably couldn't agree where to have lunch, but uh, there
- 50:59Speaker 3: are he and Blair and Hanshaw have have some real,
- 51:03Speaker 3: real concerns about this tax plan.
- 51:06Speaker 15: Well, the governor needs to do the work and actually
- 51:08Speaker 15: and that's I know it's a foreign word to him,
- 51:10Speaker 15: to actually do work, but he and actually build a
- 51:13Speaker 15: consensus before you call a special session and have your
- 51:15Speaker 15: ducks in a row. He didn't do that. Now he's
- 51:17Speaker 15: paid lip service to childcare. We have a childcare crisis
- 51:21Speaker 15: throughout the country. It was a it was a topic
- 51:23Speaker 15: of the debate the other night. You know, Trump gave
- 51:26Speaker 15: a really weird answer on it. The other day when
- 51:28Speaker 15: he was at the New York Economic Club, Say, and
- 51:31Speaker 15: he started talking about tariffs because he has no clue
- 51:33Speaker 15: what to talk about when it comes to childcare, and
- 51:35Speaker 15: unfortunately neither does Governor Justice and it's affecting West Virginians
- 51:39Speaker 15: at a greater level than is the rest of the country.
- 51:41Speaker 15: Every day we're getting bad news of childcare agens. He's
- 51:44Speaker 15: closing up because they're not able to pay the bills,
- 51:47Speaker 15: and that's the problem.
- 51:48Speaker 3: Say, throwing more money at it is not the is
- 51:51Speaker 3: not the answer. That's what he said on the show.
- 51:52Speaker 15: That's not the only answer, but that's a big part
- 51:54Speaker 15: of it. We have to it's something. It is the
- 51:57Speaker 15: economic issue that drives all other economic and workforce issues.
- 52:02Speaker 15: If people don't have a place to bring their young,
- 52:07Speaker 15: young children to go to work, they're not gonna be
- 52:09Speaker 15: able to go to work. So we do have to
- 52:10Speaker 15: do something about and a simple tax credit isn't going
- 52:13Speaker 15: to do it. You know, Delegate Young did the math
- 52:15Speaker 15: and show that's only about two or three hundred dollars
- 52:18Speaker 15: a year.
- 52:19Speaker 3: Sull Be on the show next Tuesday.
- 52:20Speaker 15: I asked her about it, and that's only going to
- 52:22Speaker 15: pay for about a week of childcare out of the year.
- 52:24Speaker 15: That doesn't fix the problem. You have to address the
- 52:26Speaker 15: accessibility issues that to be able to help keep these
- 52:29Speaker 15: places open so they're able to take care of our kids.
- 52:32Speaker 15: People can get back to work.
- 52:33Speaker 3: Oh, we got to get an important issue, but Dave
