- 0:00Speaker 1: Today is a very special day.
- 0:03Speaker 2: Why?
- 0:04Speaker 1: Can I say happy cranky co-workers day? Don't say anything,
- 0:08Speaker 1: Amanda Jo. Although I can be cranky sometimes. Black Cat Day?
- 0:13Speaker 1: Don't know what to do with that. It's Navy Day.
- 0:15Speaker 1: I thought it might be their birthday, but it's actually not.
- 0:17Speaker 1: It's just a celebration of the men and women who
- 0:19Speaker 1: have served in our Navy and are currently serving, so...
- 0:23Speaker 1: Thank you for your service. Oh, here's the country one.
- 0:27Speaker 1: Today is National American Beer Day. Wait. Birthdays today. Kelly
- 0:35Speaker 1: Osbourne turns 42. Oh, Simon the Bond. I was such
- 0:40Speaker 1: a Duran Duran fan back in the day. I had
- 0:43Speaker 1: the hair. I had the outfits. Simon Lebon is 68.
- 0:47Speaker 1: Lee Greenwood, Lord Almighty, boy's 84 years old. You know
- 0:51Speaker 1: who's got him, though? Monty Python's John Cleese. Funny man.
- 0:56Speaker 1: And he's 87 today. Those are today's special days and
- 1:00Speaker 1: birthdays here on the Country 92.5 Morning Show. Tuesday, October 27, 2026.
- 1:05Speaker 1: I'm Damon. That's Amanda Jo. This is the morning show.
- 1:09Speaker 1: And she's going to hit the headlines for the first
- 1:11Speaker 1: time right now.
- 1:12Speaker 2: Weather today, mostly sunny, a little windy to start with
- 1:16Speaker 2: highs near 60. World Series game three, the Brewers won
- 1:20Speaker 2: 10 to one against the Tampa Bay Rays. They're now
- 1:23Speaker 2: up three to nothing in the series. Game four is
- 1:26Speaker 2: tonight in Florida. Could be a sweep, but ahead of
- 1:29Speaker 2: game three last night, Carly Pierce, she performed the national anthem.
- 1:35Speaker 1: By the way, in the history, the 122-year history of
- 1:39Speaker 1: the World Series, how many teams have come back from
- 1:42Speaker 1: a 3-0 deficit?
- 1:43Speaker 2: Well, the Red Sox did.
- 1:44Speaker 1: Well, no, that was the playoffs. I don't know.
- 1:46Speaker 3: None.
- 1:46Speaker 1: Oh.
- 1:52Speaker 2: Yeah, no, I think it's over for them.
- 1:55Speaker 1: It's over.
- 1:56Speaker 2: I mean, we'll find out for sure tomorrow. But Super
- 1:58Speaker 2: Bowl 61, the halftime show. I was really hoping for
- 2:02Speaker 2: Miley Cyrus because I know that name had been floated around.
- 2:05Speaker 2: But it's going to be Jay-Z.
- 2:09Speaker 1: What's hilarious is they ask him, like, who would you pick?
- 2:12Speaker 1: Which one?
- 2:12Speaker 3: And he went, me.
- 2:17Speaker 2: I mean, it's going to be a pretty good performance.
- 2:19Speaker 2: I think if he sticks to some of those like
- 2:21Speaker 2: hard knock, can I get a run? This town better
- 2:24Speaker 2: be in the mix.
- 2:25Speaker 1: It's just funny that they will put him on a
- 2:29Speaker 1: panel or whatever to hire somebody.
- 2:31Speaker 2: And then he's got a secret weapon who's already performed
- 2:33Speaker 2: at the halftime show twice. Beyonce.
- 2:36Speaker 3: What?
- 2:38Speaker 2: Yeah, that'll that'll be going down.
- 2:40Speaker 1: There you go. Today's headlines are on the Country 92.
- 2:43Speaker 1: Five morning show. Real quick look at the traffic out there.
- 2:48Speaker 1: Play a few songs. And then today's fascinating facts are
- 2:52Speaker 1: all about American beer because it's National American Beer Day.
- 2:57Speaker 1: Got some questions for you, Amanda Jo. Stick tight. Happy Tuesday.
- 3:01Speaker 1: Hope it's going to be a great day. I know
- 3:02Speaker 1: we're happy you're starting out with us. Here's Amanda Jo
- 3:05Speaker 1: with the scoop for today, sponsored by Monaco Ford.
- 3:08Speaker 2: Well, Thomas Rhett teasing, it's been too long and something
- 3:12Speaker 2: our way is coming very soon. I think it's probably
- 3:15Speaker 2: called In A Minute.
- 3:16Speaker 1: So hopefully, I mean, it's fun.
- 3:18Speaker 2: I like it. Hopefully we'll have that very soon. Hardy's
- 3:22Speaker 2: been teasing a new song that is dropping on Friday,
- 3:24Speaker 2: but he hasn't really provided like a healthy clip. It's
- 3:27Speaker 2: very cinematic on his social. The last video he posted
- 3:31Speaker 2: last night has a guy reading a newspaper with the
- 3:34Speaker 2: headline Farmland Rezone for data centers.
- 3:37Speaker 1: So he didn't play anything for you when you were
- 3:39Speaker 1: hosting his thing at the St.
- 3:41Speaker 3: Jude?
- 3:41Speaker 1: Well, he did.
- 3:42Speaker 2: And we played that clip last week.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Oh.
- 3:45Speaker 2: An unreleased Hardy song, which is on our Instagram, country92. 5.
- 3:48Speaker 2: That might be it? Might be. That song was called
- 3:52Speaker 2: By God.
- 3:53Speaker 1: That's cool. You would have had it first. Anywhere.
- 3:56Speaker 2: Check it out on our Insta. And Coe Wetzel yesterday
- 3:59Speaker 2: said he's teasing a new collaboration that's coming our way
- 4:03Speaker 2: potentially tomorrow. And he wants us to guess who the
- 4:05Speaker 2: collab is with. This is all he provided.
- 4:16Speaker 1: That's it?
- 4:17Speaker 2: I was creeping through the comments because that's very, you know,
- 4:20Speaker 2: I mean, Coe's rock country.
- 4:21Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:22Speaker 2: A lot of people seem to think maybe it could
- 4:24Speaker 2: be Stephen Wilson Jr., which would be epic. So hopefully
- 4:27Speaker 2: we will find out tomorrow.
- 4:29Speaker 1: When she finds out, we find out, which is a
- 4:31Speaker 1: beautiful thing here on the Country 92.5 Morning Show. Up next,
- 4:36Speaker 1: our feel-good story. How would I describe this one? Bad
- 4:40Speaker 1: directions lead to good news. I will tell you the
- 4:42Speaker 1: story in 15 minutes here at Country 92.5. Thanks for
- 4:46Speaker 1: starting your day with us. That's Amanda Jo. My name
- 4:48Speaker 1: is Damon. It's time for today's feel-good story. And here
- 4:52Speaker 1: it is. So, Casey Monroe was driving over the weekend.
- 4:56Speaker 1: Forgot where he was going, so he called his 14-year-old
- 4:59Speaker 1: son and said, I need the address. Kid gave him
- 5:02Speaker 1: the wrong address. Which he took down some roads he'd
- 5:05Speaker 1: never been on before, including one... where a house was
- 5:08Speaker 1: on fire. He called 911, made a beeline into the driveway,
- 5:12Speaker 1: didn't even bother knocking. The door was open, ran in.
- 5:15Speaker 1: The house was becoming engulfed. He ran upstairs to the
- 5:18Speaker 1: bedroom of James Burke and his wife. They were both snoozing,
- 5:21Speaker 1: had no idea. The two of them woke up their
- 5:24Speaker 1: 11 children, one grandchild, family dog, and all of them
- 5:29Speaker 1: got downstairs and outside. The fire chief later said, five
- 5:33Speaker 1: more minutes later, They've been a whole different situation. Casey
- 5:36Speaker 1: told the local news he felt like there was a
- 5:39Speaker 1: reason he kept going, even though he suspected he was
- 5:41Speaker 1: going the wrong way. Home, total loss. But the Burks
- 5:44Speaker 1: feel like they were the luckiest people on earth, thanks
- 5:47Speaker 1: to Casey's instincts and his son's mixed up address. Wow. Boom.
- 5:52Speaker 1: Today's feel good story on the country. Ninety two five
- 5:55Speaker 1: morning show. What is the best selling Halloween song of
- 5:58Speaker 1: all time? It's not what you think. That's the question.
- 6:01Speaker 1: Don't don't help. You help after somebody gets it horrendously
- 6:05Speaker 1: wrong and we go, sorry, here's a clue from Amanda Jo. 860-249-9250.
- 6:09Speaker 1: Country 92.5. Who's this? It's Alisa. Alisa, Wheeler Walker Jr.
- 6:18Speaker 1: is going bye-bye. I want to send you to his
- 6:20Speaker 1: farewell tour at Toad's Place. You just got to tell me,
- 6:24Speaker 1: what is the best-selling Halloween song of all time? Elvira. Oh,
- 6:29Speaker 1: that's a swell guess. Unfortunately, it's not right, so we're
- 6:33Speaker 1: going to let you go. But call back, because Amanda
- 6:35Speaker 1: Jo's clue is always like, hello, just take him. Oh!
- 6:38Speaker 1: All right, now we're going to need a clue from
- 6:41Speaker 1: Amanda Jo.
- 6:41Speaker 2: I mean, this is a giveaway.
- 6:43Speaker 1: They did the mash. Oh, come on.
- 6:46Speaker 2: I didn't know how else to tease that.
- 6:48Speaker 1: Thank you for calling the Country 925 Morning Show. To
- 6:50Speaker 1: whom are we speaking? It's Bob.
- 6:52Speaker 3: How are you?
- 6:53Speaker 1: Bob, I am swell. How are you, Bob? That's the
- 6:56Speaker 1: real question. About the same. You know what? I will
- 6:58Speaker 1: take an even line any time. At least you're not
- 7:01Speaker 1: going down, brother. Hopefully you're going up by winning tickets
- 7:04Speaker 1: to see Wheeler Walker Jr. Bob, what's the best-selling Halloween
- 7:08Speaker 1: song of all time? That's what we need to know
- 7:10Speaker 1: to get you into the show. Elisa got through earlier.
- 7:13Speaker 1: She said... Alvira? Rongo Dongo. So Amanda Jo had the
- 7:18Speaker 1: following clue for you. It's a really good clue. They
- 7:22Speaker 1: did the mash. Go ahead, Bob.
- 7:25Speaker 3: It's the monster mash.
- 7:29Speaker 1: Time to play Find the Fake. Three weird headlines. Two
- 7:34Speaker 1: of them are legit. I will explain them after Amanda
- 7:37Speaker 1: Jo guesses which one I made up, because that's the
- 7:40Speaker 1: third one. You ready?
- 7:41Speaker 2: Hit me.
- 7:42Speaker 1: All right.
- 7:43Speaker 2: Really?
- 7:45Speaker 1: Number one, parents call police to report three-year-old that was
- 7:50Speaker 1: too good at soccer. Number two, spirit Halloween stores remove
- 7:55Speaker 1: edible organs from stores amid protests from organ donor organizations.
- 8:02Speaker 1: Or three, supposed Amelia Earhart plane turns out to be
- 8:06Speaker 1: underwater rock formation.
- 8:08Speaker 2: I think you made up number two.
- 8:13Speaker 1: Absolutely legit. Spirit pulled the, I mean, they understood, you know,
- 8:17Speaker 1: it's like, yeah, you're eating kidneys. People need kidneys. Okay.
- 8:21Speaker 1: And the first one was just weird. This kid is
- 8:23Speaker 1: really a super good, I mean, he's got like his
- 8:26Speaker 1: own Facebook and Instagram. He's got like a million followers.
- 8:29Speaker 1: He's great. But these parents are like, he's smoking our kids.
- 8:32Speaker 1: And he was, he just run around older kids and
- 8:34Speaker 1: everything is score, score, score, score, score. So they call
- 8:36Speaker 1: the cops and the police are like, You want us
- 8:39Speaker 1: to do what? Right. Take him away?
- 8:41Speaker 2: Don't dull his shine. He could be like.
- 8:44Speaker 1: The next World Cupper. Yeah. And I was hoping you
- 8:46Speaker 1: hadn't heard the Amelia Earhart. They found what it was,
- 8:50Speaker 1: but it wasn't the plane. It was actually washed up trees.
- 8:54Speaker 2: Oh, see, I didn't think it was. I knew it
- 8:56Speaker 2: wasn't the plane, so that's why I thought you made
- 8:58Speaker 2: that one up.
- 8:58Speaker 1: No, I just modified a little bit and I tricked you.
- 9:01Speaker 1: I got you.
- 9:01Speaker 2: Well played.
- 9:02Speaker 1: I got you. There you go. Hope you played along.
- 9:05Speaker 1: Hope you got it right, too, because we want.
- 9:07Speaker 2: You to be a... I was really hoping they found
- 9:09Speaker 2: that plane. Nope. Nope.
- 9:10Speaker 1: It was trees. And they're like, we got it. We
- 9:14Speaker 1: got it.
- 9:15Speaker 3: Trees.
- 9:16Speaker 1: Washed up trees.
- 9:17Speaker 2: One of the greatest mysteries.
- 9:20Speaker 1: And it continues. There he is.
- 9:24Speaker 3: Joke time!
- 9:25Speaker 1: That means prize time. And this week we're giving away.
- 9:29Speaker 3: Tickets to the Fall Hartford Home Show.
- 9:32Speaker 1: How many tickets?
- 9:33Speaker 3: Four.
- 9:34Speaker 1: Wow, that's a good prize. Gonna need a Halloween joke
- 9:37Speaker 1: day two.
- 9:38Speaker 3: What did the tired witch do?
- 9:40Speaker 1: One more time, please.
- 9:42Speaker 3: What did the tired witch do?
- 9:44Speaker 1: Figure that out. Give us the answer. Send you to
- 9:47Speaker 1: the home show on the convention center this Saturday and Sunday.
- 9:50Speaker 1: I know I said that the rest of the week's
- 9:52Speaker 1: really simple, but I keep getting these great Halloween jokes
- 9:55Speaker 1: that people are sending me. And I'm like, that's better
- 9:57Speaker 1: than the one I had. And this is not it's
- 9:59Speaker 1: not easy.
- 10:01Speaker 2: Something to do with, like, tired, so you take a nap.
- 10:04Speaker 1: No, no. Sleep. Again, it's a really super clever punchline,
- 10:08Speaker 1: but you are not going to figure it out, young lady.
- 10:10Speaker 2: What do you associate with spell?
- 10:12Speaker 3: Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.
- 10:14Speaker 1: That's really good. Now, can you figure out how to
- 10:16Speaker 1: make it into a punchline?
- 10:18Speaker 2: No.
- 10:18Speaker 1: I'm not talking to you. I'm talking to them. 860-249-9250.
- 10:20Speaker 1: Come and get your tickets for the home show again
- 10:25Speaker 1: this Saturday and Sunday right across the street at the
- 10:28Speaker 1: Connecticut Convention Center. Country 92.5, happy Tuesday. Who's this? This
- 10:34Speaker 1: is Todd. Want to send you to the home show
- 10:36Speaker 1: this weekend, brother. I just need the punchline to this joke.
- 10:40Speaker 1: And I will point out, Amanda Jo didn't figure it
- 10:42Speaker 1: out because she's never heard this before. And granted, it
- 10:46Speaker 1: is older, but it's also a regional kind of thing.
- 10:49Speaker 1: So what do you got for a punchline?
- 10:51Speaker 3: What did the tired witch do?
- 10:54Speaker 1: The witch sat down for a spell. Hey, Tessa Grace,
- 10:57Speaker 1: do you know what the tired witch did?
- 11:00Speaker 3: She sat down for a spell.
