- 0:00SPEAKER_03: There you go.
- 0:02SPEAKER_00: Hello, everyone.
- 0:03SPEAKER_00: Welcome back to Truth Be Told.
- 0:05SPEAKER_00: I am your host, Mickey, and with me I have Bethany.
- 0:08SPEAKER_00: She is my co-host.
- 0:09SPEAKER_00: And today we have been talking about repentance.
- 0:13SPEAKER_00: And so we are going to be talking about part two of repentance.
- 0:17SPEAKER_00: But I just wanted to tell you a little bit about what Bethany and I do.
- 0:22SPEAKER_00: I am a life coach, Christian life coach, and I help people to overcome strongholds that are holding them back.
- 0:28SPEAKER_00: I have a coaching program and I meet with my clients one-on-one for like a 90-day program, or I do I do quick programs.
- 0:39SPEAKER_00: And I also have um on Christ Strongholz.com.
- 0:44SPEAKER_00: You can reach me there and you can sign up for a free clarity call if you just want to find out some more information, as well as sign up for prayer.
- 0:51SPEAKER_00: And so I'm going to say hello to Bethany, let her say hi and tell tell you guys about her her coaching program.
- 0:57SPEAKER_00: Hi, Bethany.
- 0:59SPEAKER_02: Hi, great to be here.
- 1:02SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 1:02SPEAKER_02: Um my coaching program is called Anchorage in Hope, and it is a 90-day program.
- 1:12SPEAKER_02: Um starting out with um establishing the foundation of that we all have the same enemy, and that is Satan.
- 1:29SPEAKER_02: And then the other 11 weeks, I go through one attribute of God each week, um, understanding that there are more than eleven attributes of God.
- 1:47SPEAKER_02: Um, one of my bonuses for the program is the other attributes of God um compiled into a PDF.
- 2:00SPEAKER_02: I believe it's 59 pages long.
- 2:04SPEAKER_02: Um and so just helping people be set free from the grip of negativity, and as an emotional trauma coach, um, I'm able to just help people truly understand, you know, that there is freedom available, and you don't have to stay in the grip of negativity, and you don't have to spend another sleepless night.
- 2:46SPEAKER_02: Um, you can have restful sleep as well, and so um just the Lord has given me such a great burden to help Christians, you know, be set free.
- 3:04SPEAKER_02: Um why why should we have to wait till eternity to truly enjoy life and understanding, yes, that we will have glorified bodies in eternity that will last for all eternity, and yet I do strongly believe that God is wanting us to experience even a taste of that now, and so even though the the world is so spiritually dark, and you know, we can live in freedom and get a like I say, get a taste of what oh eternity will be like, even though we are right now bound by time and bound by our mortal bodies, and so yeah.
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: That's awesome.
- 4:21SPEAKER_00: That sounds like a wonderful program.
- 4:23SPEAKER_00: Um, I know you also offer um Bible studies, you also offer a couple other things on your website, like um affirmation cards, and um um I've actually purchased a couple of your um Bible studies and they're wonderful.
- 4:37SPEAKER_00: So um they're they're great.
- 4:40SPEAKER_00: So I I encourage anybody to um everybody, not anybody, everybody, to go to your page and and check it out.
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: And um you also um offer a free guide, don't you, as well?
- 4:52SPEAKER_00: Isn't there a guide in it?
- 4:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah, okay.
- 4:54SPEAKER_00: So yeah, um, and how do they sign up?
- 4:57SPEAKER_00: They just go in and just like subscribe or just um Yes, yeah.
- 5:01SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 5:02SPEAKER_00: Um same with Carson Strongholds.
- 5:03SPEAKER_00: You can go to CarsonStrongholds.com and you can sign up there.
- 5:06SPEAKER_00: And um if you have any questions or um anything that you want to work through, especially strongholds, there's um six different strongholds that I like to focus in on, and that's fear, abandonment, rejection, um, depression, anxiety, abuse, and self-identity.
- 5:24SPEAKER_00: And um with my coaching program, the only um there's the only difference that I have with with with having a course is I don't I don't write my program out until I meet with we with my clients individually because I design um every single one of my um programs I design around the person individually because I believe that God created us individually.
- 5:48SPEAKER_00: And it's important that we understand that um we're not all equipped the same, even though we have similarities.
- 5:55SPEAKER_00: Um God, you know, God did make us to where we can, you know, relate with one another on on different levels and stuff, but He did make us completely 100% individualized.
- 6:04SPEAKER_00: And I believe that if we don't get narrowed in and find out who who and what our identity is right off the bat, um and excuse me, and work on um work on that uh along with whatever the stronghold is that's going on and get down to the root of the problem because as as as troubling as the problem can be, if you just go from the surface down, you're not gonna do any good.
- 6:29SPEAKER_00: You want to go clear to the root and you want to start there instead of just you know you know cutting cutting off the root and letting it keep growing back.
- 6:37SPEAKER_00: So my goal is to literally design the program to where um when we meet one-on-one for our first session and our 90-day session that we talk about um what it is that you're going through and what it is that you would like to accomplish, because I don't want anybody to finish my program not feeling accomplished or feeling like um they didn't gain something from it.
- 6:58SPEAKER_00: I want freedom to come from it.
- 7:00SPEAKER_00: And that's what we're talking about today.
- 7:02SPEAKER_00: So when we think about repentance, um, a lot of times we don't look at that as freedom.
- 7:08SPEAKER_00: And for me, I think it's the most free freeing thing that we can do, one of one of the most freeing things that we can do.
- 7:14SPEAKER_00: Because when you repent, it frees you from all of the mistakes and the sins that we have we have done.
- 7:22SPEAKER_00: And we're all gonna do it.
- 7:23SPEAKER_00: We're all gonna sin.
- 7:24SPEAKER_00: We all have sinned.
- 7:25SPEAKER_00: And it's it's interesting.
- 7:26SPEAKER_00: I I've actually had people say, Well, I don't sin.
- 7:29SPEAKER_00: And I just I just, you know, I'm like, okay, well, let me let me um let's have a sit down and talk about that, shall we?
- 7:36SPEAKER_00: Because we all sin.
- 7:37SPEAKER_00: The word says that everyone sins, and we all fall short of the glory of God, basically.
- 7:42SPEAKER_00: And so today we're going to dive into part two of um the importance of repentance.
- 7:48SPEAKER_00: And I know Bethany has a great message for us, but Bethany, will you lead us in prayer?
- 7:54SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 7:55SPEAKER_02: Let's pray.
- 7:58SPEAKER_02: Dear Lord, I thank you once again for meeting with us for this episode and for how you will work, how you will speak through Mickey and myself, and how you will be honored and glorified through this time, and that those who are listening to this would um sense your power on their lives because Lord, with each of this, these episodes, I truly do feel your power on my life.
- 8:47SPEAKER_02: And so I pray that that would be evident with those who are listening, and we give it to you, Lord, and we thank you for what you will do in Jesus' name, amen.
- 9:08SPEAKER_00: Amen.
- 9:09SPEAKER_00: So I do have some allergies, so if you see me uh, you know, silencing my my thing, it's because I've I'm sneezing now and I don't want to be disruptive.
- 9:17SPEAKER_00: I don't want to I don't want to interrupt our messages today, but um, where are we starting at today, Bethany?
- 9:24SPEAKER_02: We are starting at Luke 15.
- 9:31SPEAKER_02: Um, and again, this is our continuation, part two of the our last episode.
- 9:43SPEAKER_02: Um the importance of repentance.
- 9:49SPEAKER_02: And we did a deep dive, I think, into the first part, um, the first episode that we did, and so now this is just a continuation of that, and like I said um in my prayer, I'm greatly feeling impressed of the Holy Spirit that um this episode will be another powerful one because I do believe it is anointed.
- 10:34SPEAKER_02: So um, yeah.
- 10:38SPEAKER_00: Awesome.
- 10:39SPEAKER_00: Um I know that last week we were talking um about um what repentance will do for us this week.
- 10:54SPEAKER_00: Um I know we're gonna dive in uh about the lost sheep.
- 11:00SPEAKER_00: And um I'm really excited um because we're gonna be talking in Luke today, and um what what that scripture is Luke 1, 15.
- 11:08SPEAKER_00: And do you want to start us off there?
- 11:10SPEAKER_00: Yes, yes.
- 11:12SPEAKER_02: So in Luke 15, this is again part of Jesus' ministry here on earth when he was here, and he often would speak in what are called parables to help those back then and to help us today as we read um these experiences to understand things um realistically, I would say, and so Luke fifteen verses one through seven verse one too near unto him, all the publicans and sinners for to hear him.
- 12:24SPEAKER_02: No, let me just pause there and say that to me that speeds volumes when you have those crowds coming to Jesus to hear him, and I often think, okay, what if Jesus were physically here today?
- 12:57SPEAKER_02: Would we have that same response to him?
- 13:03SPEAKER_02: So just something to consider.
- 13:09SPEAKER_02: No, verse two and the Pharisees and scribes murmured saying, This man receiveth sinners and eateth eateth with them.
- 13:33SPEAKER_02: I think that should speak volumes as well.
- 13:38SPEAKER_02: Um the Pharisees and scribes of that day were the I think the religious elite, or so they thought.
- 14:12SPEAKER_02: And yet did they understand that even they were part of that group?
- 14:25SPEAKER_03: Exactly.
- 14:29SPEAKER_02: I don't want to stay on that too long, but just something to really consider, I think.
- 14:37SPEAKER_02: And so going on here, verse three, and he spake this parable unto them, saying, Again, this is Jesus talking to this group of people.
- 14:55SPEAKER_02: So verse four, this is Jesus talking.
- 15:02SPEAKER_02: What man of you having a hundred sheep, if you lose one of them, did not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness and go after that which is lost until he find it.
- 15:22SPEAKER_02: Verse five.
- 15:24SPEAKER_02: And when he had found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing, verse six.
- 15:34SPEAKER_02: And when he cometh home, he called together his friends and neighbors, saying unto them, Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost, for seven.
- 15:55SPEAKER_02: I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth more than over ninety and nine just persons which need no repentance.
- 16:27SPEAKER_02: I don't know about you, Mickey, but whenever I read that experience it helps me to understand to a greater degree just how much God loves us, each one of us.
- 16:58SPEAKER_02: And you know, we we look around in the world today and I wonder how often do we judge people based on outward appearances with whatever is going on, and yet do we fully appreciate that that person or the or those people were created by God and the Lord has just given me such a true burden for people to see them as God sees them and to not judge them, but to understand that God's not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance, every single person who has lived, who is living, and who will live.
- 18:32SPEAKER_02: And that to me that is quite convicting to truly see people and to understand that again God's not willing that any should perish.
- 19:02SPEAKER_02: I don't know about you, but it makes me emotional to truly think about it.
- 19:17SPEAKER_00: This passage demonstrates that there's literally more joy in heaven, even over one sinner who repents than over 99 righteous persons who need no repentance.
- 19:31SPEAKER_00: Over one sinner.
- 19:34SPEAKER_00: The rejoice they re are literally rejoicing in heaven over that.
- 19:39SPEAKER_00: So when Jesus finds that lost sheep, and we are that lost sheep, we're the lost sheep.
- 19:44SPEAKER_00: Sometimes when we when we hear this and we think about it, we we think of somebody else, or we think of, you know, he's talking about us, who us, you know, and they rejoice every time we repent, every time we come to to know Jesus, they actually are rejoicing in heaven, knowing that we're coming home one day.
- 20:06SPEAKER_00: We're coming home to the Father.
- 20:09SPEAKER_00: Because we're we are we are his children.
- 20:13SPEAKER_00: If your child is lost and you found your child, what would that do to you?
- 20:18SPEAKER_00: How would that what would that do to your heart?
- 20:20SPEAKER_00: You know?
- 20:21SPEAKER_00: You would rejoice, like the parable even.
- 20:24SPEAKER_00: You know, the father, the father didn't go and start screaming and yelling at him.
- 20:28SPEAKER_00: He ran to his son, ran to him and and grabbed him and held him and and you know, missed his son so much that everything else, no matter what happened between, and no matter what the argument was, the son definitely needed to come back and apologize.
- 20:43SPEAKER_00: But the dad didn't care.
- 20:44SPEAKER_00: He's like, it's okay.
- 20:45SPEAKER_00: You're here.
- 20:46SPEAKER_00: That's my apology.
- 20:47SPEAKER_00: I accept you.
- 20:48SPEAKER_00: I'm accepting you.
- 20:49SPEAKER_00: Flaws and all.
- 20:51SPEAKER_00: The dad didn't say, Well, I'm only gonna give you a hug if you apologize first.
- 20:55SPEAKER_00: Jesus doesn't do that.
- 20:57SPEAKER_00: He doesn't do that at all.
- 20:59SPEAKER_00: And you and you're right.
- 21:00SPEAKER_00: This this is a really, I mean, you know, just like the song, you know, Jesus leaves the 99 for the one.
- 21:05SPEAKER_00: It's so powerful.
- 21:08SPEAKER_00: But you gotta keep in mind, he's not talking about somebody else.
- 21:12SPEAKER_00: He's talking about you.
- 21:14SPEAKER_00: He really is talking about you.
- 21:16SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 21:18SPEAKER_00: And it's important that you know that because a lot of times we'd think that, oh, he's probably talking, singing about somebody else.
- 21:23SPEAKER_00: No, he's talking about you, he's talking about everyone.
- 21:25SPEAKER_00: He doesn't want anyone to go to hell.
- 21:28SPEAKER_00: No one.
- 21:30SPEAKER_00: And that's that's why it says he'll go after you, he'll go looking for you, he'll he'll try to find you.
- 21:36SPEAKER_00: You know?
- 21:37SPEAKER_00: And so, yeah, it's it's it's pretty powerful.
- 21:40SPEAKER_00: And I just think it's amazing that they literally rejoice in heaven when when you know, when Jesus finds that one sheep, one sheep, over all of the other righteous sheep, the ones that stayed in in the pen where they belonged, you know.
- 21:54SPEAKER_00: They rejoice over the one sheep that went off his tray and got lost in in the wilderness and was found.
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: They rejoiced over that.
- 22:02SPEAKER_00: That brought great joy, you know, to the Father, to our Father.
- 22:07SPEAKER_00: And so, yeah, it it is um a very powerful scripture.
- 22:12SPEAKER_00: Very powerful scripture for sure.
- 22:26SPEAKER_02: If there's one thing that interview listeners right now, can understand as we've said.
- 22:51SPEAKER_02: Even if you're already a Christian.
- 22:55SPEAKER_02: It's still you.
- 23:00SPEAKER_02: And we also need to remember that it's everyone else too.
- 23:07SPEAKER_02: Individually.
- 23:09SPEAKER_00: That's why we need to forgive as well.
- 23:12SPEAKER_00: That's why forgiveness is important.
- 23:14SPEAKER_00: Sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt you, but if I didn't say that, I knew I'd forget it.
- 23:18SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 23:18SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 23:20SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 23:23SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 23:24SPEAKER_02: And so I sense the Holy Spirit warning us to just linger here a bit longer just to really have that sink in.
- 23:53SPEAKER_02: I know we have to get moving, but I'm like I say, I'm just really something from the Holy Spirit that we have to give this time to help us all truly understand what this means.
- 24:21SPEAKER_02: Again, as we look around the world today.
- 24:30SPEAKER_02: And we truly come to an understanding.
- 24:38SPEAKER_02: All the people were saying God's not willing that any of them.
- 24:47SPEAKER_02: Any of them.
- 25:09SPEAKER_02: Some very bad killings of people, and some senseless killings, I would say.
- 25:27SPEAKER_02: And yet we just need to remember.
- 25:36SPEAKER_02: And so as we continue on here, let's now go to Luke.
- 25:44SPEAKER_02: Twenty-four twenty-four verse forty-seven is another verse that's the importance of who needs to repent.
- 26:26SPEAKER_02: And so Luke twenty-four, verse forty-seven, and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jusal.
- 26:53SPEAKER_02: Notice what it said there.
- 26:56SPEAKER_02: All nations.
- 28:00SPEAKER_02: Whenever a non-Christian dies.
- 28:07SPEAKER_02: God is not happy about that.
- 28:12SPEAKER_02: It grieves his heart.
- 28:16SPEAKER_02: And yet I think it's important for us to remember that repentance is an individual choice.
- 28:30SPEAKER_02: Those of us who are Christians, we're not able to get saved for anyone else except ourselves.
- 28:44SPEAKER_02: I do believe we have a responsibility to pray for others to become Christians, but we are not able to get saved for anyone else except ourselves.
- 29:07SPEAKER_02: And so, Mickey, do you have any thoughts on this verse?
- 29:14SPEAKER_00: I actually do.
- 29:15SPEAKER_00: I actually want to back up a little bit because this is an this is a pretty heavy scripture.
- 29:23SPEAKER_00: Um it says this is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day.
- 29:32SPEAKER_00: And that repentance and remiss remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
- 29:38SPEAKER_00: And then it says, And ye are witnesses of these things.
- 29:43SPEAKER_00: So we are witnesses.
- 29:46SPEAKER_00: We are supposed to not only witness it, but we're also supposed to practice.
- 29:50SPEAKER_00: So this is the this is a the commission to preach.
- 29:54SPEAKER_00: We're being commissioned to actually preach this.
- 29:56SPEAKER_00: We're supposed to go and tell people, not only practice it, but also preach it.
- 30:01SPEAKER_00: But it said that Christ had to suffer first, he had to raise from the dead first.
- 30:06SPEAKER_00: And if it wasn't important, why is the third line say, and that repentance and remission of sin should be preached?
- 30:18SPEAKER_00: Why would it say that if it wasn't, I mean, right after he dies, this is what he's preaching.
- 30:23SPEAKER_00: So I'd say there's some very significant importance to repentance and remission of sins.
- 30:29SPEAKER_00: Because I mean he didn't wait until like six months down the road and go, oh, by the way, don't forget to ask for forgiveness.
- 30:34SPEAKER_00: He said, right immediately, right after his suffering suffering, right after he came back, to make sure that this part of this part of what he did on that cross is preached.
- 30:46SPEAKER_00: It's significant, it holds so much purpose and so much power.
- 30:51SPEAKER_00: Because God knows, or Jesus knows what that sin is gonna do if we don't repent.
- 30:57SPEAKER_00: And also, when we're witnessing this, when you see people repenting of their sins, you will also witness another thing.
- 31:04SPEAKER_00: You will also see the change that Christ does in their life.
- 31:08SPEAKER_00: Yes, you'll see the change, you'll see them become a different person.
- 31:11SPEAKER_00: You'll see, you know, and not that they're gonna be perfect, not that they won't ever fall short or fall back into sin.
- 31:16SPEAKER_00: That's why repentance is always available.
- 31:19SPEAKER_00: Day and night you can repent.
- 31:21SPEAKER_00: You can repent, you know, and repent and repent.
- 31:24SPEAKER_00: And yes, we we we are human beings, we live on this earth, and um as you said before, you know, there's a lot going on.
- 31:34SPEAKER_00: There's a lot of you know, the war in Iran and everything that's happening right now, it's it's horrific.
- 31:39SPEAKER_00: Even in even in the United States, everything that's happening.
- 31:42SPEAKER_00: Um, but we're not supposed to be afraid of that.
- 31:46SPEAKER_00: We're supposed to be prepared.
- 31:48SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 31:48SPEAKER_00: We're supposed to be armored up.
- 31:50SPEAKER_00: And one of that thing, one of that is is repentance.
- 31:55SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 31:56SPEAKER_00: When you're going into battle and you're gonna go fight for something, you need to make sure that you are surrendered and repented before heading in.
- 32:05SPEAKER_00: And I would suggest to anybody before tackling any spiritual warfare, even your own, that you are surrendered and you're repentant.
- 32:15SPEAKER_00: You you you have repented because you don't want to go in carrying all of that anyway.
- 32:21SPEAKER_00: You don't want to put extra armor on, you don't want to put extra weight on yourself.
- 32:25SPEAKER_00: That repentance, that's what I was talking about earlier.
- 32:28SPEAKER_00: That's where the freedom comes in.
- 32:29SPEAKER_00: You are released from that sin the moment that you repented.
- 32:35SPEAKER_00: And even if you say it 500 times the first time you said it, God removed it.
- 32:41SPEAKER_00: We're the ones that think we have to be repetitious.
- 32:43SPEAKER_00: We're the ones that think that, oh, I have to, you know, say this over, over, over, over, over again.
- 32:48SPEAKER_00: You do not.
- 32:49SPEAKER_00: Probably drives him nuts up there, too.
- 32:51SPEAKER_00: Like, I heard you the first time, you know.
- 32:53SPEAKER_00: Our God's kind of humorous something.
- 32:55SPEAKER_00: He's probably like, hello, I got it already, enough already, you know.
- 32:58SPEAKER_00: But no, but when we repent, sometimes we we feel so guilty and we feel so much shame.
- 33:02SPEAKER_00: That is the enemy.
- 33:04SPEAKER_00: That's not God.
- 33:06SPEAKER_00: That is not the Lord.
- 33:07SPEAKER_00: We need to remember that as soon as we pray and ask God to forgive us for something, He does it.
- 33:14SPEAKER_00: Now, because we don't do it, we don't do it for others, we think that God won't do it for us.
- 33:21SPEAKER_00: And again, that is also the enemy.
- 33:23SPEAKER_00: That is a lie from the enemy.
- 33:26SPEAKER_00: We have got to stop believing these because we will walk around in so much freedom the minute you let it go.
- 33:32SPEAKER_00: The minute you let it go, drop it.
- 33:35SPEAKER_00: Have you ever had someone tell you just drop it?
- 33:37SPEAKER_00: Just drop it.
- 33:38SPEAKER_00: Leave it alone, just leave it at the door, you know?
- 33:40SPEAKER_00: Don't bring the end in this house.
- 33:42SPEAKER_00: You just don't, you know?
- 33:44SPEAKER_00: And there's reason for that.
- 33:45SPEAKER_00: Because if you're carrying all of that around, you're gonna be miserable, you're gonna be upset, you're gonna be frustrated, you're gonna be irritable, you're gonna be cranky, you're gonna have all of these emotional things that are unnecessary and take your peace from you if you don't let them go.
- 34:02SPEAKER_00: So, again, that's where the freedom comes in.
- 34:04SPEAKER_00: Repentance brings freedom.
- 34:07SPEAKER_00: It really, really does.
- 34:08SPEAKER_00: It's so freeing.
- 34:10SPEAKER_00: Knowing that, yes, I did that.
- 34:13SPEAKER_00: And I'm I'm really sorry, God.
- 34:14SPEAKER_00: Please forgive me.
- 34:15SPEAKER_00: Please forgive me of my sin.
- 34:17SPEAKER_00: And drop it right there.
- 34:20SPEAKER_00: That's it.
- 34:21SPEAKER_00: Don't turn around and go, oh, but God, did you hear me?
- 34:24SPEAKER_00: I'm sorry.
- 34:25SPEAKER_00: God's gonna be like, You're the one not listening to yourself because I heard you, you know.
- 34:30SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we really need to be cognizant of that.
- 34:33SPEAKER_00: Um, God does not like murmuring and complaining, and when you are repetitiously uh repenting, that's exactly what you're doing.
- 34:41SPEAKER_00: I don't know if you know that or not, but that's exactly what's happening.
- 34:44SPEAKER_00: He doesn't like that.
- 34:46SPEAKER_00: But um, but for this scripture, it is a commission to go preach it.
- 34:52SPEAKER_00: We are commissioned in this scripture right here to go and tell people that God suffered.
- 34:59SPEAKER_00: He died on the cross, he came back the third day, and we are to repent of our sins so that when when when it's time for him to come and take us home, we are ready.
- 35:10SPEAKER_00: We have to be prepared, especially right now.
- 35:13SPEAKER_00: This we are so close to the end times.
- 35:15SPEAKER_00: Well, obviously, every day we every day, every day that we are alive, we're one day closer to the end.
- 35:20SPEAKER_00: Someone said, Well, that's going to be for every day going on forward.
- 35:23SPEAKER_00: I was like, okay, Smarty Pants, you're right.
- 35:25SPEAKER_00: But I'm talking about we are seriously entering the end, we are at the end of times.
- 35:31SPEAKER_00: The third temple's being built, the heifer's been slain, everything in the Word of God, everything that God has spoken of, all of these prophecies have have been have happened, a lot of them.
- 35:43SPEAKER_00: Um, there are still to come.
- 35:44SPEAKER_00: There's still a few prophecies, you know, there's still prophecies that have been that have not been fulfilled, but there's been thousands of prophecies.
- 35:52SPEAKER_00: And one thing that I always think about with this is when people talk about God and they talk about Jesus and they talk about not, you know, them not they're non-believing.
- 36:00SPEAKER_00: And if this is you today, I don't know why I'm feeling led to say this, because I feel like there's people out there that literally are they question God, they question Jesus Christ, you know, the Trinity, they're questioning everything, but they're not taking that that that that repentive step and in surrendering and seeking salvation.
- 36:19SPEAKER_00: They're too busy questioning everything.
- 36:21SPEAKER_00: But let me ask you this.
- 36:22SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna ask you this.
- 36:23SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna grab this Bible.
- 36:24SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna grab my grandma's Bible because it's so precious.
- 36:26SPEAKER_00: This is not her oldest Bible, but I don't know if you guys can see this.
- 36:30SPEAKER_00: But this thing has had some had a lot of reading going on.
- 36:34SPEAKER_00: My grand my my other one that my grandma has is literally duct tape all around because she's so precious.
- 36:40SPEAKER_00: And now I have it in a thing.
- 36:41SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna, I'm actually gonna put it in a framed box because it means so much to me.
- 36:45SPEAKER_00: But anyway, very special, these Bibles.
- 36:47SPEAKER_00: We need to take God's word.
- 36:49SPEAKER_00: And if you don't have the word of God in in book form, and you only have it in this form, I'm gonna tell you right now, when when this goes down, you're gonna wish you had this around.
- 37:00SPEAKER_00: Get this book, get this book.
- 37:02SPEAKER_00: If you don't have it, get it.
- 37:03SPEAKER_00: This is not gonna help you.
- 37:04SPEAKER_00: When when all of everything, you know, everything, we lose all of our all of our um electricity and stuff, all of our power, the internet goes out, whatever.
- 37:13SPEAKER_00: You'll always have this.
- 37:15SPEAKER_00: So, but what I wanted to say was um we are living in such times right now that if you don't know God, you'll want to get to know him like right away.
- 37:27SPEAKER_00: You know, time is really of the essence.
- 37:29SPEAKER_00: And the pr the commission to preach is to tell people that he suffered, he died on the cross, he rose three days later.
- 37:35SPEAKER_00: We need to get repented, and we need to make sure that our hearts are in line with Christ and that we're saved.
- 37:41SPEAKER_00: Now, if you're just getting saved, if you just got saved today, if we get saved just today, um going back and trying to fulfill this whole Bible, it's not gonna happen.
- 37:52SPEAKER_00: I I've been trying to fulfill this Bible since, you know, since I was 10 years old.
- 37:56SPEAKER_00: Okay?
- 37:56SPEAKER_00: I mess up every single day.
- 37:58SPEAKER_00: That's where repentance comes in.
- 37:59SPEAKER_00: God doesn't expect us to, but He expects us when we know, when we literally know that we've sinned, we are supposed to ask for forgiveness.
- 38:07SPEAKER_00: And you know what?
- 38:08SPEAKER_00: You're also supposed to ask for forgiveness for the sins that you don't know that you sinned.
- 38:13SPEAKER_00: And so I don't know if you know about that.
- 38:15SPEAKER_00: But not only are we supposed to do that, but we're also supposed to tell people that we love about it.
- 38:21SPEAKER_00: We are commissioned to go preach the gospel.
- 38:25SPEAKER_00: We're supposed to tell people about Jesus, we're supposed to tell people how to get saved, how to surrender, how to get how to do that.
- 38:31SPEAKER_00: And even though we're going into the end times, and it can be scary and frightening, and I and you can either be afraid or you can be excited.
- 38:41SPEAKER_00: And I don't know about you, if you're a Christian and you know what's coming, you should be excited.
- 38:47SPEAKER_00: You should be super excited because the stuff that's going on now is not going to be going on when Jesus comes back.
- 38:54SPEAKER_00: When we are back, when we are in heaven and we are rejoicing and praising and worshiping the Father and eating the good fruit.
- 39:02SPEAKER_00: So I'm excited about that, but I don't want you guys to be afraid.
- 39:06SPEAKER_00: I want you to be prepared.
- 39:08SPEAKER_00: And this lesson on repentance, it's a preparation tool.
- 39:13SPEAKER_00: We are preparing you to get your heart in line with God.
- 39:17SPEAKER_00: Because here's the thing: if you are a Christian and you still sin, you're not going, you're not going to hell.
- 39:24SPEAKER_00: We're not trying to send you straight to the pit, okay?
- 39:26SPEAKER_00: We're not trying to like open up the lake of fire and give you a kick into there, okay?
- 39:29SPEAKER_00: We're not doing that.
- 39:30SPEAKER_00: What we're doing is we want you to be as free as you can because the day that you have to go before the Lord and you stand on that judgment throne by yourself, there's not going to be anybody there.
- 39:42SPEAKER_00: You're not going to have any witnesses going, but I saw them do good things.
- 39:46SPEAKER_00: They did this, I they did that.
- 39:47SPEAKER_00: They're a good person.
- 39:50SPEAKER_00: And God's going to be like, but I know all of their sin.
- 39:54unknown: Yeah.
- 39:54SPEAKER_00: The sins that nobody else knows in the darkest hours, in the closet, under the rug, you know, the hidden sin that we all have.
- 40:02SPEAKER_00: We all have sin.
- 40:03SPEAKER_00: We all have it.
- 40:04SPEAKER_00: But if you repent of it and you get to heaven, the only sin God will talk about is your unrepented sin.
- 40:12SPEAKER_00: Think about that.
- 40:14SPEAKER_00: What is not repentant?
- 40:16SPEAKER_00: So if I sin, like I ask God to forgive me already today for my sins, I ask him, you know, I ask every day.
- 40:22SPEAKER_00: We should ask every day.
- 40:23SPEAKER_00: You know, it's just that you know, it's a good, it's a good idea, like with prayer, it's a good idea why you're praying to ask and repent.
- 40:29SPEAKER_00: You know, repent of your sins.
- 40:30SPEAKER_00: But if I get up from this chair and I go sin or say something or hurt somebody's feelings or um or swear, let's say I say a swear word, okay, which I don't plan on it, but in case I did, okay.
- 40:42SPEAKER_00: Let's say I cuss, you know, because I, you know, I was raised about around my mom should have been a sailor because she had nothing but a dirty word in her mouth, you know.
- 40:48SPEAKER_00: And I mean, we cussed a lot.
- 40:50SPEAKER_00: And um, and so it was just it was just verbiage to us.
- 40:54SPEAKER_00: We didn't know it was disrespectful, we didn't know it was harmful.
- 40:56SPEAKER_00: You know, saying G D, it was okay.
- 41:00SPEAKER_00: Um, it that bothered me though.
- 41:02SPEAKER_00: Saying um JC bothered me too.
- 41:05SPEAKER_00: But anyway, if I cuss, if I leave and I cuss today and I get ready to go to bed and something happens and I don't wake up tomorrow and I don't ask God to forgive me, guess what he guess what his sin he's gonna talk to me about?
- 41:15SPEAKER_00: The cussing or any of the sin that I did that I did not repent for.
- 41:20SPEAKER_00: And there are sins that we do that we do not repent for because we don't know that we did we did them.
- 41:26SPEAKER_00: Sometimes we do things and we don't realize it's a sin.
- 41:29SPEAKER_00: I mean that's why I say you should also ask for repentance for for unknown sin.
- 41:35SPEAKER_00: It's an extra covering of protection, I call it.
- 41:38SPEAKER_00: I feel like it's an extra cover, you know, from God, okay, like God, I'm a sinner, forgive me.
- 41:42SPEAKER_00: I for these sins, I know these sins.
- 41:44SPEAKER_00: And also, if you want to go deeper with God, ask him to reveal your sin to you.
- 41:50SPEAKER_00: Let me tell you what that'll do to you.
- 41:53SPEAKER_00: You're gonna start seeing things, and you're gonna, you're gonna, God will vividly convict your heart on things that he's allowed you to continue to do because he's been waiting for you to get conviction over certain sins in your life, but he's just not gonna beat you up for it.
- 42:08SPEAKER_00: That's why he gave you a free will.
- 42:09SPEAKER_00: So, but he will chase after you and try to get you to get your heart in line with him.
- 42:15SPEAKER_00: And that's why it's important that we do this, and it's important that we tell our loved ones to do it because when we see them on judgment day and they have to stand up for their sins, can you imagine watching your family suffer?
- 42:29SPEAKER_00: We know Jesus suffered, but can you imagine you know, your own your own child or your your loved one, your best friend, your neighbor, the person you go to church with on Sunday and hang out with, the person you're at Sunday brunch with, your friends.
- 42:41SPEAKER_00: Those are people that are close to you.
- 42:43SPEAKER_00: What about them?
- 42:44SPEAKER_00: What about people you don't know?
- 42:46SPEAKER_00: What about people you see at the grocery store going through the drive-thru?
- 42:50SPEAKER_00: I I talk to the I I have my favorite drive-thru people because they know me.
- 42:54SPEAKER_00: You know why they know me?
- 42:55SPEAKER_00: Because I talk to them.
- 42:57SPEAKER_00: This one lady calls me love.
- 42:58SPEAKER_00: All of she loves me.
- 42:59SPEAKER_00: She loves me.
- 43:00SPEAKER_00: I go, oh, she loves me.
- 43:02SPEAKER_00: She goes, Oh, hi, love.
- 43:04SPEAKER_00: How are you?
- 43:05SPEAKER_00: She loves me, you know, because she's she's she's from New York, actually.
- 43:08SPEAKER_00: She's from Boston.
- 43:10SPEAKER_00: But anyway, she's wonderful.
- 43:12SPEAKER_00: And she's kind of cranky, but when she sees me, she says it's it's the highlight of her day.
- 43:16SPEAKER_00: That's the kind of people we want to be.
- 43:18SPEAKER_00: You know, that's what we need to be delivering.
- 43:21SPEAKER_00: We need to be commissioning the gospel.
- 43:23SPEAKER_00: They see something in us that other people that they don't see in other people.
- 43:27SPEAKER_00: And when you are, guess what?
- 43:29SPEAKER_00: When you get free from the sin and that sin falls off from you, it won't be seen by you, seen by anybody else or you either.
- 43:36SPEAKER_00: You won't have to look in the mirror and go, oh, I'm just a wretched sinner.
- 43:39SPEAKER_00: We are wretched sinners.
- 43:41SPEAKER_00: But if you've asked for forgiveness, from that moment on, you're no longer a wretched sinner.
- 43:45SPEAKER_00: You are set free.
- 43:47SPEAKER_00: Isn't that crazy?
- 43:49SPEAKER_00: And then when you do it again, you better go back to the to the you know, to the altar and be like, Lord, help me again.
- 43:54SPEAKER_00: Help me again, Lord.
- 43:55SPEAKER_00: It's okay to ask Him to help you.
- 43:58SPEAKER_00: My grandma told me something I want to share.
- 44:00SPEAKER_00: This real quick and um and then Bethana I'll let you finish.
- 44:02SPEAKER_00: I'm sorry.
- 44:03SPEAKER_00: Um, but my grandma told me something, she had a real deep pain in her heart for her dad.
- 44:10SPEAKER_00: She was very mad, very upset with her father.
- 44:13SPEAKER_00: She loved her daddy, that was her daddy, you know.
- 44:17SPEAKER_00: But her daddy left left her mommy, and she loved her mommy too.
- 44:23SPEAKER_00: And she was really angry with dad for leaving mom and going to another woman.
- 44:30SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 44:31SPEAKER_00: Um, it really broke her heart.
- 44:34SPEAKER_00: When her dad got sick before he died, I remember her telling me, she had a little house outside of her house, that she had to go out there and get on her knees and cry and weep and beg God to help her to forgive her dad because she knew she couldn't do it by herself.
- 44:53SPEAKER_00: And she said, God, I can't forgive him, but I know through you I can.
- 44:58SPEAKER_00: And that resonated so powerfully with me because she was so transparent and honest in her hurting and her anger and her pain.
- 45:07SPEAKER_00: Even though she felt she absolutely could not forgive her father, she knew through Christ that she could, and she had to forgive him.
- 45:14SPEAKER_00: And when we went and seen him, she was the last one to see him alive.
- 45:17SPEAKER_00: She got to be there with him right before he died, out of all of his children.
- 45:22SPEAKER_00: And what a blessing that was for her.
- 45:25SPEAKER_00: You know, it was such an honor to witness that because when we were driving up there, she told us, you know, she would we were talking about that, and she said, I had so much hate for my father, but I had to, I had to repent and ask for forgiveness for myself over the hate I had for my father.
- 45:40SPEAKER_00: Because what my father did was wrong, but I still love my father, just like our father loves us.
- 45:46SPEAKER_00: That's exactly how our dad is with us.
- 45:50SPEAKER_00: So think about that.
- 45:51SPEAKER_00: It's powerful.
- 45:52SPEAKER_00: So I'm gonna let you jump back in, Bethany, and and and take off from where you're at on this on this scripture.
- 45:58SPEAKER_00: But it is important that you guys know to all of our listeners, not only are we, as I as I showed you and shared with you, how important repentance is, not only are we to repent, but we are commissioned to preach.
- 46:11SPEAKER_00: This is actually a commission to go out and preach.
- 46:16SPEAKER_00: Because that's why I read the next verse.
- 46:18SPEAKER_00: It says, Ye are witnesses of these things.
- 46:21SPEAKER_00: When you're witnessing this, you're you're you're witnessing it, you're sharing it.
- 46:24SPEAKER_00: You're telling people you're preaching it.
- 46:26SPEAKER_00: It's a commission to preach.
- 46:27SPEAKER_00: So anyway, go ahead, Bethany, Bethany.
- 46:31SPEAKER_02: Yes, that's so powerful and so needed for us to remember.
- 46:38SPEAKER_02: And you know, even as you were talking there, Mickey, the Lord brought to my mind um Romans 8.1 that says there is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ.
- 47:05SPEAKER_02: And so when we have those feelings that you know, and yes, I I think I asked for forgiveness for this.
- 47:22SPEAKER_02: I you know, I I thought God forgave me for this, but I really don't know.
- 47:29SPEAKER_02: And that's not God.
- 47:34SPEAKER_02: No, God does not condemn.
- 47:40SPEAKER_02: And you know, I've been hearing a lot about people who talk about self-condemation, and I just want to say that is not from God, sure, condemnation is not from God for those of us who are Christians, condemnation is from Satan, and so if you're going through you know self-condemnation or whatever, please understand that's not from God, that is from Satan, and Satan loves to influence us, yet remember Satan cannot make us do anything, it's our choices that cause us to do things, and so as we um finish with these couple more verses for this episode, let's look now at Acts Chapter twenty-six and verse twenty.
- 49:32SPEAKER_02: Acts twenty six, verse twenty says but showed first unto them of Damascus and at Jerusalem and to all the coasts of Judea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God and do works meet for repentance, and I wanted to highlight that verse because notice where works comes in.
- 50:26SPEAKER_02: I believe there are people who think that if they do enough good works that will somehow get them to heaven.
- 50:42SPEAKER_02: But that's not right.
- 50:47SPEAKER_02: It's repentance that causes a person repentance and then believing in Jesus Christ.
- 51:03SPEAKER_02: That's what gets a person to become a Christian.
- 51:11SPEAKER_02: And so this verse here, verse 20, talking about worse that's after repentance, that's doing things that honor God, you know, like like Mickey and I do with these episodes, we're sharing, we're preaching, we're proclaiming the truth to you all who are listening, and so that is a work again, not to get saved, not to become a Christian, but because we already are a Christian, and so I just wanted to really highlight that that the importance of good works is a fruit of being a Christian.
- 52:27SPEAKER_02: No, that doesn't mean we have to be perfect or have everything all together and all figured out and everything before we can share with others if you feel that way, know that feeling is from Satan.
- 53:03SPEAKER_02: I'm a Christian, but I have to have everything perfect, and you know, I have to have all the right answers, and I have to arrive first, and no.
- 53:25SPEAKER_00: That's what we call keeping up with the Joneses.
- 53:28SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 53:28SPEAKER_00: That's what we call that.
- 53:30SPEAKER_00: Like you feel like you have to keep up with you know, every everybody that's doing so much differently, or maybe you look at them as doing much better than yourself.
- 53:40SPEAKER_00: Um, you don't have to keep up with the Joneses.
- 53:42SPEAKER_00: Um go to church, and um it's a good idea to serve, but you don't even have to serve.
- 53:48SPEAKER_00: You honestly don't even have to go to the church building to be saved, but it's it's a good idea.
- 53:53SPEAKER_00: It's where you get fed.
- 53:54SPEAKER_00: It's where you get fed the good manna.
- 53:56SPEAKER_00: So I encourage people go to go to church, but you don't even have to go to church.
- 53:59SPEAKER_00: You don't have to go um serve on the worship team or you or or you know do that.
- 54:04SPEAKER_00: It's a good idea, those are good ideas.
- 54:06SPEAKER_00: But I wanted to point out with works real quick that the works that that that we do on earth, I don't know if you know this, just like when you're in school and you do certain certain things and you get accomplishments and you get a rewarded for it, you're gonna get rewarded for the work that you do for the kingdom.
- 54:24SPEAKER_00: And you want to make sure you're you're working for the kingdom and not for the world, because you don't get any recognition for helping this world out.
- 54:32SPEAKER_00: Your recognition is for what you did for the kingdom.
- 54:35SPEAKER_00: Not only are you gonna get recognized, but God said he prepared a mansion for you.
- 54:39SPEAKER_00: You're gonna have robes made out of linen, fine linen, you know, or or or just you know, the other kind of you know, cotton material.
- 54:48SPEAKER_00: Or and your crown, and there's gonna be jewels in your crown.
- 54:52SPEAKER_00: Those are gonna be the rewards that you'll get for the works that you do on earth for your kingdom.
- 54:58SPEAKER_00: But you don't have to do anything to get to heaven and to get to you know, to get to be with our father.
- 55:04SPEAKER_00: You get you just got to be saved.
- 55:06SPEAKER_00: I just wanted to point that out because I think a lot of people think, well, why do we work?
- 55:09SPEAKER_00: Why do we work at all then if we don't have to?
- 55:12SPEAKER_00: You know, well, one, we have to work to survive, we have to take care of ourselves.
- 55:16SPEAKER_00: Um, God made us vessels of productivity.
- 55:20SPEAKER_00: He didn't make us non-productive, you know, in whatever we do.
- 55:24SPEAKER_00: Um so there's that.
- 55:26SPEAKER_00: But we need to be mindful that as we're going through um and we get saved, our our our thought process and our service changes.
- 55:36SPEAKER_00: You know, your heart will change.
- 55:38SPEAKER_00: You'll want to serve.
- 55:39SPEAKER_00: One of God's characteristics actually is designed us to want to serve.
- 55:43SPEAKER_00: He gave we have that desire within us, that which goes with that productivity that He, you know, He gave us.
- 55:49SPEAKER_00: That's where we get our inner, you know, we get energy and stuff from.
- 55:52SPEAKER_00: He gave us the ump to do things, but we should be doing it for the kingdom.
- 55:57SPEAKER_00: So just keep that in mind when we're when we're when you're looking at this verse.
- 56:00SPEAKER_00: I'm sorry I didn't mean to interrupt you, but I knew if I didn't say that, I was gonna forget it because I've heard so many people go, oh, but I, you know, look how good that, look how good that family is.
- 56:09SPEAKER_00: Look how great they're, you know, the oh, there's they they do everything for the community.
- 56:14SPEAKER_00: They do this and they do that.
- 56:15SPEAKER_00: Good for them.
- 56:17SPEAKER_00: Good for them.
- 56:18SPEAKER_00: That's good.
- 56:19SPEAKER_00: That doesn't mean that has to be you.
- 56:21SPEAKER_00: You do what God lays on your heart.
- 56:24SPEAKER_00: If you're trying to keep up with them, you're actually sinning.
- 56:27SPEAKER_00: Don't do that.
- 56:29SPEAKER_00: You don't want to keep up with the Joneses.
- 56:31SPEAKER_00: God don't care.
- 56:32SPEAKER_00: If if He doesn't care, He wants your service to be your service to God, not you trying to do what everyone else is doing.
- 56:40SPEAKER_00: So you need to be mindful of that because it's actually a sin.
- 56:44SPEAKER_00: It's it's actually it says, don't covet thy neighbor.
- 56:46SPEAKER_00: You're coveting what your neighbor's doing.
- 56:49SPEAKER_00: Even as a Christian, if you're like, oh, I want to be a good Christian like them.
- 56:52SPEAKER_00: No, be the good Christian that God designed you to be.
- 56:56SPEAKER_00: So we don't have to work for that.
- 56:58SPEAKER_00: So I just want to make sure that that's really clear because a lot of people don't do that.
- 57:03SPEAKER_00: You know, they're always trying to keep up with something.
- 57:06SPEAKER_00: You know, you don't have to keep up with trends, you don't have to keep up with, you know, like people like, oh, do you have the newest phone?
- 57:11SPEAKER_00: I'm like, um, my grandson asked me, Grandma, how old's your phone?
- 57:15SPEAKER_00: I said, I don't know.
- 57:16SPEAKER_00: And he's like, and he went and got on my phone and he looked up how old it is.
- 57:18SPEAKER_00: And he goes, Oh, it's not too old, but it's getting there, you know.
- 57:22SPEAKER_00: I'm like, I go, yeah, because my mother went broke.
- 57:23SPEAKER_00: I had to get I finally had to get a new phone.
- 57:25SPEAKER_00: But I didn't have to go, oh, the new phone's out.
- 57:27SPEAKER_00: I have to go get it.
- 57:29SPEAKER_00: You don't have to follow trendy things.
- 57:31SPEAKER_00: You don't have to do something because everyone else is doing it.
- 57:34SPEAKER_00: My mom used to say, if if someone jumped off a cliff, you gonna follow them?
- 57:37SPEAKER_00: I'd be like, maybe.
- 57:39SPEAKER_00: You know, depends on if it looks fun, you know.
- 57:41SPEAKER_00: I mean, you know, because we're we're like we're like the lost sheep.
- 57:45SPEAKER_00: We'll fall right in the river.
- 57:46SPEAKER_00: We're like the little ducklings that fall right in the right in the um the ditch, you know, or get stuck in that, you know, one of those gutters or whatever, those drain drain holes or whatever.
- 57:57SPEAKER_00: And it happens all the time.
- 57:58SPEAKER_00: We we we need to be cognizant, but we don't have to follow.
- 58:02SPEAKER_00: The only person we're supposed to follow is Jesus Christ.
- 58:06SPEAKER_00: And if you follow him, you're not ever gonna go astray again.
- 58:09SPEAKER_00: I promise you.
- 58:10SPEAKER_00: That's a promise that's written in the Bible.
- 58:12SPEAKER_00: You just follow Jesus says, just follow me.
- 58:14SPEAKER_00: Follow me, I'll tell you what to do.
- 58:16SPEAKER_00: I'll show you.
- 58:16SPEAKER_00: You don't have to follow anybody else.
- 58:19SPEAKER_00: And it's funny because as Christians, we see Christians following Jesus, and we want to be more like the Christian that's following Jesus instead of the one that we're supposed to be following.
- 58:28SPEAKER_00: Don't do that.
- 58:29SPEAKER_00: That's a sin.
- 58:30SPEAKER_00: That's not okay.
- 58:32SPEAKER_00: So I just wanted to really point that out because I think that we make that that's a huge mistake that we make.
- 58:38SPEAKER_00: And and it happens.
- 58:39SPEAKER_00: I've done it.
- 58:40SPEAKER_00: I I've done it.
- 58:41SPEAKER_00: I had a gal on the worship team that, you know, I wanted to be on the worship team with her so bad because I loved singing with her, you know.
- 58:48SPEAKER_00: And um I was like, man, I want to be up there with her.
- 58:52SPEAKER_00: I want to get up there and sing with her.
- 58:53SPEAKER_00: And um, I'd been on the worship team many times at other churches, but not this church.
- 58:57SPEAKER_00: And I was like, man, and um that wasn't my calling.
- 59:00SPEAKER_00: God had a different calling for my life, if that makes sense.
- 59:03SPEAKER_00: We have to do what we're called to do.
- 59:05SPEAKER_00: God gave each of us an assignment.
- 59:07SPEAKER_00: My assignment isn't your assignment.
- 59:09SPEAKER_00: Just like I'm not you and you're not me.
- 59:11SPEAKER_00: I'm already taken and so are you.
- 59:12SPEAKER_00: So be yourself.
- 59:13SPEAKER_00: Be who God made you to be.
- 59:15SPEAKER_00: Stop trying to be anyone else.
- 59:18SPEAKER_00: You will live more peacefully if you get that in your head, if you get that in your mindset.
- 59:23SPEAKER_00: You will live so much more peacefully, not worrying about what anyone else is doing out there, only worrying about yourself.
- 59:31SPEAKER_00: And that's not an act of selfishness, by the way, to do that.
- 59:34SPEAKER_00: God actually wants us to do that.
- 59:37SPEAKER_00: Because people go, isn't that selfish?
- 59:39SPEAKER_00: No, it's not selfish to think of yourself.
- 59:41SPEAKER_00: You need to think of yourself first because you do nobody any good if you're not doing what God wanted you to do.
- 59:48SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 59:48SPEAKER_00: You're really not.
- 59:49SPEAKER_00: You're not helping the kingdom, you're putting roadblocks in the way.
- 59:53SPEAKER_00: I put many roadblocks up, by the way.
- 59:55SPEAKER_00: So if I did that, forgive me.
- 59:57SPEAKER_00: Because I know in my life I put many roadblocks up because I was worried about what everyone else thought.
- 1:00:02SPEAKER_00: I needed that validation.
- 1:00:04SPEAKER_00: Jesus validated you on the cross.
- 1:00:06SPEAKER_00: You don't need it from anyone else.
- 1:00:08SPEAKER_00: So if you're out there working your tail off because you think that's how you're gonna get into heaven, you might as well, you know, it's like that they tried to build a tower of Babel to heaven.
- 1:00:16SPEAKER_00: And look what God did with that.
- 1:00:18SPEAKER_00: Because they wanted to try to get to heaven.
- 1:00:20SPEAKER_00: Your works are not gonna get you to heaven.
- 1:00:23SPEAKER_00: You know, they're not.
- 1:00:25SPEAKER_00: So we have to be really mindful of that when we're going out and doing stuff.
- 1:00:29SPEAKER_00: And now, if you're called and you, it's all if it if it's really a passion in your heart and you have a passion to go be in the ministry or go start a church or you know, go work in the kids' department, um, whatever you whatever that you're doing that serves God, if that's what God lays on your heart, then you can do that.
- 1:00:46SPEAKER_00: There's nothing wrong with that.
- 1:00:48SPEAKER_00: God did create us to serve.
- 1:00:50SPEAKER_00: But not if you're doing it to get to heaven.
- 1:00:54SPEAKER_00: If you're doing that just to get to heaven and you're not really right with God, you gotta do a heart, you gotta do a heart posture check.
- 1:01:01SPEAKER_00: You better get yourself checked out by the physician, and that's that's the man upstairs.
- 1:01:06SPEAKER_00: You know, you need to see the doctor.
- 1:01:08SPEAKER_00: So so go ahead, Beth and I didn't mean to interrupt you, but I think that's a very important um part of this message is is a lot of people think that they have to work their way into heaven, or they have to be as good as the next, they have to be as good as the other Christian to get into heaven, and they absolutely do not.
- 1:01:25SPEAKER_00: So I hope that takes the load off from someone today because I know a lot of people out there working really hard to be like the guy next door.
- 1:01:33SPEAKER_00: You don't have to do that no more.
- 1:01:34SPEAKER_00: Just be yourself.
- 1:01:35SPEAKER_00: God loves you, He died for you, like you said earlier.
- 1:01:39SPEAKER_00: He loves you so much that he doesn't care about anybody else when it comes to you.
- 1:01:44SPEAKER_00: He doesn't care about nobody else.
- 1:01:46SPEAKER_00: If you were the last person on this earth, Jesus would still come down and get on that cross for you.
- 1:01:52SPEAKER_00: Think about that.
- 1:01:54SPEAKER_00: And if that doesn't strike you, I don't know what else can.
- 1:01:58SPEAKER_00: When I thought about that one day, I thought, what if I was the only person here on this earth?
- 1:02:03SPEAKER_00: Would Jesus still come?
- 1:02:04SPEAKER_00: That answer is yes.
- 1:02:07SPEAKER_00: In a heartbeat.
- 1:02:08SPEAKER_00: He wouldn't even hesitate.
- 1:02:09SPEAKER_00: He wouldn't have to go, well, you know, let me think about that.
- 1:02:12SPEAKER_00: No, he didn't he didn't think twice about us when he came to die on the cross for us.
- 1:02:18SPEAKER_00: He didn't hesitate.
- 1:02:19SPEAKER_00: He didn't withhold.
- 1:02:20SPEAKER_00: He knew what his father had planned for him.
- 1:02:23SPEAKER_00: You know, he knew all along.
- 1:02:25SPEAKER_00: That's why he was preaching in the churches at 12 years old.
- 1:02:28SPEAKER_00: He already knew.
- 1:02:28SPEAKER_00: He was preparing hearts back then.
- 1:02:31unknown: Yeah.
- 1:02:31SPEAKER_00: You know, he was on it, and parents are looking all over Jesus.
- 1:02:35SPEAKER_00: He's in the church preaching, you know, serving God.
- 1:02:40SPEAKER_00: So, yeah, that's you know, I ugh there's so much on my heart today.
- 1:02:44SPEAKER_00: I just, you know, God is just like I I feel this outpouring of God speaking through me, and then it's like we're so close to the end.
- 1:02:52unknown: Yeah.
- 1:02:53SPEAKER_00: And I feel like I honestly, what burdens my heart so much is that we're not getting it.
- 1:02:59SPEAKER_00: We don't get it.
- 1:03:00SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 1:03:01SPEAKER_00: We don't get the importance of repentance, we don't get the importance of loving your family.
- 1:03:07SPEAKER_00: Love one another.
- 1:03:09SPEAKER_00: Don't sit there and fight with them.
- 1:03:11SPEAKER_00: I told my grandkids, man, I did this with my kids.
- 1:03:14SPEAKER_00: My kids would fight and I'd make them hold hands.
- 1:03:16SPEAKER_00: They hated that.
- 1:03:17SPEAKER_00: I one time I put them in a big t-shirt together.
- 1:03:21SPEAKER_00: Oh man, I thought they were gonna kill each other.
- 1:03:22SPEAKER_00: It was kind of funny, but I made them hold hands.
- 1:03:25SPEAKER_00: I'm like, you guys, that is enough fighting.
- 1:03:27SPEAKER_00: You guys are gonna sit on the couch and you're gonna hold hands until you know, until you're gonna get along.
- 1:03:30SPEAKER_00: You're gonna sit there and get along because you're not gonna sit here and be mean to each other.
- 1:03:33SPEAKER_00: You're not gonna knock it off, you know.
- 1:03:34SPEAKER_00: And I told my grandkids that I did that to my kids.
- 1:03:37SPEAKER_00: And they're like, I'm not holding anybody's hand.
- 1:03:39SPEAKER_00: And then they're looking back there, I look back in the backseat of the car and they're playing, they're talking to me about it, but they're playing around with each other's hands, like, I'm not holding your hand, I'm not holding your hand, and they're holding hands.
- 1:03:48SPEAKER_00: It's so funny.
- 1:03:49SPEAKER_00: Cracked me up.
- 1:03:50SPEAKER_00: I'm like, see, you're getting along.
- 1:03:51SPEAKER_00: You're not beating each other up in the backseat because one was slapping the other and hitting punch, and I'm like, knock it up.
- 1:03:56SPEAKER_00: But it's like we we don't get it.
- 1:03:59SPEAKER_00: We we don't get what we're missing.
- 1:04:02SPEAKER_00: You know, time is seriously of the essence.
- 1:04:05SPEAKER_00: It really is.
- 1:04:06SPEAKER_00: You need to get your heart line in line with God, you need to get your act cleaned up.
- 1:04:12SPEAKER_00: You need to repent.
- 1:04:14SPEAKER_00: Most importantly, if you are a Christian, you need to be repenting.
- 1:04:17SPEAKER_00: I know people think, well, I'm a Christian.
- 1:04:19SPEAKER_00: I'm covered by the blood.
- 1:04:22SPEAKER_00: You are, but judgment day is coming, my friend.
- 1:04:25SPEAKER_00: You're gonna stand before the Lord and you're gonna be like, but I'm a Christian, Lord.
- 1:04:29SPEAKER_00: And he's like, That that you are, but you didn't repent.
- 1:04:32SPEAKER_00: The third thing in that scripture was repentance.
- 1:04:36SPEAKER_00: It wasn't here, you know.
- 1:04:37SPEAKER_00: Now that now that you know once you've accepted me as your savior, you can go do whatever the flip you want, because that's not the case.
- 1:04:43SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:04:45SPEAKER_00: So we have to be obedient, and repentance is huge, it's a huge part of that.
- 1:04:49SPEAKER_00: So okay, I know you have I know you have more scripture, so I gotta be quiet.
- 1:04:56SPEAKER_02: Yes, I you know, and as you were talking there, um the Lord brought to my mind um a topic for another episode.
- 1:05:14SPEAKER_02: Um but comparison, how it's not wise, and I do believe that we need to spend time even on that, um, because I do believe that there are people who are comparing themselves or being compared with others, and that's that's another one of Satan's tactics.
- 1:05:53SPEAKER_02: And you know, do we understand just how many tactics?
- 1:06:00SPEAKER_02: Satan has and so but comparison that'll be for another at least one episode, probably more.
- 1:06:15SPEAKER_02: Um but now as we finish up um for this episode, and I truly wish we could honestly just keep going with it, but I know time is um important and yet what we've discussed here today is of greater importance, I believe, because once eternity starts, time ceases to exist.
- 1:07:05SPEAKER_02: And that's another episode too, but we do we do need to understand how like like we've said how close we are to that and what are we doing?
- 1:07:32SPEAKER_02: And so now our last verse for today is first Peter chapter three and verse fifteen.
- 1:07:55SPEAKER_02: And as we've been discussing in this episode, and discussing in the last episode um the importance of repentance and also understanding that importance of repentance is not just for eternal salvation, the importance of repentance is for every day as well, and so but there are two distinct um I don't know if differences is the right word, um repentance for eternal salvation, which is um becoming a Christian, but then repentance for when Christians sin.
- 1:09:11SPEAKER_02: So but here in First Peter chapter three and verse 15, it says, but sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.
- 1:09:46SPEAKER_02: And so I thought that verse was a great verse to summarize what Mickey and I are doing with all of these episodes of Truth Be Told, and we're always ready to give an answer, and we want you as well to do the same, because I do strongly believe that there are so many people who are searching for the truth, and Christians, we have the truth in God's word.
- 1:10:46SPEAKER_02: As we've said, you know, you don't have to have all the answers, you don't have to be, you know, have everything perfect or all that.
- 1:11:04SPEAKER_02: You just need a willingness to be used, and I mean of myself.
- 1:12:17SPEAKER_02: In November nineteen eighty-three.
- 1:12:38SPEAKER_02: I'm not gonna I'm not gonna share, I'm not gonna put myself out there, I'm not gonna do anything.
- 1:12:51SPEAKER_02: No, it it hates me every day with that determination of God has a purpose in my life, and he wants me to fulfill that purpose.
- 1:13:12SPEAKER_02: And so if I say no, I'm letting him down, and he has been giving me a mental visual that picture God and Satan standing in front of you, and every time you give in to Satan, give in to negativity or however that um shows up for you.
- 1:14:12SPEAKER_02: That means you're leaving God standing alone, and that to me is one of the strongest convictions ever to help me understand the power of my choices and I honestly could talk for years on end, but I know right now we are at a time constraint with the episode, and so I just encourage everyone who is listening, no matter when you listen, to understand the importance not only of repentance for becoming a Christian, but that same importance for repentance from the moment you become a Christian until the moment eternity starts for you that space as well because God does love you, and he wants to have you experience greatness even here on earth, not just waiting until eternity, and so you have any final thoughts?
- 1:16:53SPEAKER_00: Um I I I do, but I kind of want to wait until part three because I think we need to go into a third part, and I think that we should start off with the scripture as well, again, um, because there's a lot to it, and um I would like to dive a little bit deeper into it.
- 1:17:10SPEAKER_00: Um we just are um at it, we are at the end of our time, so but I wanted to um I I do think it's important that we we do go ahead and continue for another part.
- 1:17:24SPEAKER_00: Um we were talking about doing part one and part two, but and we weren't sure 100% if it was gonna stay there, but kind of like prayer, you you know, there's like it's important, repentance is important, but um, so I'm gonna kind of save my thoughts for the next episode because they're lengthy.
- 1:17:40SPEAKER_00: So and I really want to talk and break this scripture down um for our listeners because there's there's a few things that I want to um discuss in that um verse, just in that verse alone.
- 1:17:53SPEAKER_00: So that's really important that I feel God has on my heart, and I feel like He wants me to be able to really explain some things in there.
- 1:18:03SPEAKER_00: And um, it's a powerful scripture.
- 1:18:05SPEAKER_00: And so this week, while you guys are waiting for our next episode to come out, knowing we're gonna start with 1 Peter 3.15, read the scripture over and over and over again.
- 1:18:14SPEAKER_00: And if it's not resonating with you, if you're not you're not wondering what it is that I'm gonna touch base on, um, because there's a really deep meaning in this scripture that I want you to get.
- 1:18:23SPEAKER_00: It's very important and it's actually very vital.
- 1:18:26SPEAKER_00: And so as you're reading it, try to figure it out.
- 1:18:29SPEAKER_00: You might figure it out on your own, and you might not.
- 1:18:31SPEAKER_00: So um, but I promise you in the next episode I will tell you.
- 1:18:35SPEAKER_00: So I am gonna close this out in prayer because we are at the end of our show.
- 1:18:39SPEAKER_00: And um, I just want to thank all of our listeners for um joining this.
- 1:18:43SPEAKER_00: I'm sorry we went a little long today, but I feel like the the power of the Holy Spirit just was moving and impressing um upon both of our hearts to share today.
- 1:18:53SPEAKER_00: And I feel like, you know, sometimes it's okay to get go a little long.
- 1:18:56SPEAKER_00: And I I had a preacher one time that used to say, you know, I know a lot of people operate off from the clock, but I operate off from the Holy Spirit.
- 1:19:03SPEAKER_00: And I just want to honor that as well because I think that's very noble.
- 1:19:07SPEAKER_00: And I think that that's what we're supposed to do.
- 1:19:09SPEAKER_00: So today that's kind of what I felt like we did.
- 1:19:11SPEAKER_00: So um thanks for sticking it out with us.
- 1:19:14SPEAKER_00: I hope that you got a lot from this episode, and um um just be studious and and and study these scriptures, you know, especially um, especially uh Luke 24, um, or not Luke, no, 15, 1 and 7, 1 through 7.
- 1:19:31SPEAKER_00: Um study it, get it, get it down, learn it.
- 1:19:35SPEAKER_00: Um, because when I talk about first um Peter next week, um that's gonna come into play and you'll understand why.
- 1:19:42SPEAKER_00: So anyhow, with that being said, I'm gonna I'm gonna say a prayer and I'm gonna pray so rethinking.
- 1:19:47SPEAKER_00: Did you have anything anything to say before I pray?
- 1:19:50SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 1:19:50SPEAKER_00: Father God, Lord, we just thank you.
- 1:19:52SPEAKER_00: We just thank you so much for most of all your word and your honor and your commitment to us, Lord, that that your your your answers are always yes and amen, you know, and we can just rely on you.
- 1:20:05SPEAKER_00: And I know, Lord, that when we come to you with repetitious praying and begging and murmuring and complaining, Lord, that that I know you're probably just shaking your head at us, but I am thankful that that you you you re you forgive us the moment we ask, the very moment.
- 1:20:20SPEAKER_00: Help us to be mindful of that.
- 1:20:22SPEAKER_00: Help us to be cognizant of the ability to just repent and then walk away and let go.
- 1:20:29SPEAKER_00: Lord, give us that, give us that strength and help the enemy stay away from our our thought process.
- 1:20:35SPEAKER_00: So um, he's not such a deterrent in thinking that you you don't forgive us, because we know, Lord, your scripture says that you do.
- 1:20:42SPEAKER_00: Your scripture says that we are forgiven once we repent.
- 1:20:46SPEAKER_00: And Lord, I thank you for that because I know as a sinner, Lord, I need repentance every single day.
- 1:20:51SPEAKER_00: And I'm so just so thankful that you're just readily there to give it to us, even if we don't deserve it.
- 1:20:58SPEAKER_00: It's just so um humbling to know that even though we mess up all the time, you just still love us.
- 1:21:06SPEAKER_00: And and you would just still come and get on that cross, even if we were the last people on earth.
- 1:21:12SPEAKER_00: Lord, I just ask that you just work on everyone's hearts this week.
- 1:21:16SPEAKER_00: Soften our hearts, Lord.
- 1:21:18SPEAKER_00: Sometimes we get so callous and so cold.
- 1:21:21SPEAKER_00: The world that we're living in right now is so dark, it's so ugly, it's so so um uh so destructive.
- 1:21:28SPEAKER_00: And we know, God, that this is this is what's happening, that you're fulfilling prophecy in your word, God.
- 1:21:34SPEAKER_00: And and and I'm not afraid.
- 1:21:36SPEAKER_00: I'm not afraid.
- 1:21:37SPEAKER_00: The only thing I'm afraid of, God, is for those that are not gonna come and meet you in the sky.
- 1:21:43SPEAKER_00: And I hope that there's not anyone that's listening.
- 1:21:46SPEAKER_00: And if they are, I just pray that they just pray and pray out to you and ask you to be their savior, and and that they pray and ask you to take away their sins.
- 1:21:54SPEAKER_00: But I don't want to see anyone go to hell.
- 1:21:57SPEAKER_00: Even my worst enemy.
- 1:21:58SPEAKER_00: We are supposed to pray even for our enemies, Lord.
- 1:22:02SPEAKER_00: Even if we don't agree with the politicians, even if we don't uh agree with the publicans or or our government, our presidents or our senators, and and people making huge decisions for our life that we rely on.
- 1:22:17SPEAKER_00: And as messy as they're getting right now, it's not easy.
- 1:22:21SPEAKER_00: It's really not easy to pray for them, but we are we are supposed to be praying for them, Lord.
- 1:22:26SPEAKER_00: And I just ask that you just be with us, Lord, today.
- 1:22:29SPEAKER_00: Give us grace.
- 1:22:30SPEAKER_00: It's a beautiful day, Lord.
- 1:22:31SPEAKER_00: I hope everyone has a wonderful day and find some kind of joy today that they can just rejoice in you, Lord.
- 1:22:36SPEAKER_00: We just thank you for for loving us and being so kind.
- 1:22:39SPEAKER_00: And I I ask you just watch over Bethany and and bless her today and and um just place your hands around her family, protect her, and and um, Lord, just just bring peace to her heart.
- 1:22:51SPEAKER_00: She loves you so much, Lord.
