- 2:14Speaker 2: Corey Mills. Yes, you know that left the vacancy. John
- 2:17Speaker 2: Brown moved to Mornings with Amy on Good Day Orlando. Yeah,
- 2:21Speaker 2: and that opens up evening. So Jack Royer will be
- 2:23Speaker 2: with lu Ancetrell in the evening. Very nice. So we'll
- 2:26Speaker 2: meet him on around five TWENTYES. Today's gonna drop by
- 2:29Speaker 2: the studio and hang out for a little bit. Comes
- 2:31Speaker 2: up from South Florida. Jack, Is it to leave Miami market? There?
- 2:34Speaker 2: You're in Miami, Yeah, by way of Alabama or Alabama
- 2:38Speaker 2: by way of Miami. There you that's the book ends
- 2:41Speaker 2: right there. Ye, depending on how much money you have.
- 2:44Speaker 2: I mean when you was he studying culture shock. What's
- 2:48Speaker 2: going on, buddy? How you doing today? I'm doing great?
- 2:50Speaker 2: All right? I recorded today. I recorded an episode Tuesdays
- 2:53Speaker 2: usually my podcast day. So I recorded an episode of
- 2:56Speaker 2: Good Sauce with Ross and Joel with Joel this morning
- 2:58Speaker 2: and he had a blast and then I went and
- 3:00Speaker 2: got lunch. Shout out to Beefy King. Yeah, oh my god, dude,
- 3:05Speaker 2: I walk in now and I'm like a prom king there. Well,
- 3:08Speaker 2: let me tell you man, you know something in that neighborhood.
- 3:10Speaker 2: You know, we a big surprise, Like a few days back,
- 3:14Speaker 2: we talked about it. Yeah, yeah, man, out of nowhere,
- 3:16Speaker 2: like Gringo's Locos shuts down all locations. I think they
- 3:20Speaker 2: have three or four in Central Florida. Why don't you
- 3:22Speaker 2: see if the one it's downtown by the Milk and
- 3:23Speaker 2: then there's one elsewhere. There's one inside the Amway Center,
- 3:28Speaker 2: the key of Center. Yeah, they provided fire tacos for
- 3:32Speaker 2: Amway or whatever it is. It was popular. It's kind
- 3:36Speaker 2: of curious. So it's a well, here's the thing. I
- 3:38Speaker 2: think there's been a legal battle that's been going on
- 3:41Speaker 2: internally for quite a while. In fact, I rent today
- 3:43Speaker 2: it's been you know ten in Taco the other taco shop.
- 3:46Speaker 2: When the taco shops are like opening every other day,
- 3:49Speaker 2: there was like a taco shop. We have that in
- 3:51Speaker 2: Central Florida. Once it's donuts, you know, then it's tacos.
- 3:54Speaker 2: I know, that it's like a little fingers than coffee.
- 3:57Speaker 2: I mean, we do that. It's like Orlando's Lane Ferrari thing. Yeah, yeah, exactly.
- 4:02Speaker 2: So I guess they had some problems and the one
- 4:05Speaker 2: guy who left started ten and Taco. But there's been
- 4:07Speaker 2: a legal battle now for a while. And by the way,
- 4:09Speaker 2: the employees were not notified. Nobody was notified. That's like
- 4:12Speaker 2: people showed up to work that day and found that.
- 4:14Speaker 2: Matter of fact, I don't I don't believe the story
- 4:16Speaker 2: I read today said there was not even a sign
- 4:18Speaker 2: on the door saying, hey, look, we're not gonna be
- 4:20Speaker 2: open today. It's like no information, nobody's returning calls, nobody's
- 4:24Speaker 2: returning emails. Nothing. That's brutal. Dude, that's pretty rare too.
- 4:28Speaker 2: I'm not seen that. We we talked about it a lot,
- 4:30Speaker 2: and the one thing that we concluded to is that
- 4:33Speaker 2: it's cities. You know, like, what is culture to a city,
- 4:37Speaker 2: something that's exclusive to said city. You can fill in
- 4:40Speaker 2: the blank, no matter what, you gotta go there for that.
- 4:42Speaker 2: You got to go there for that. And gringos locos.
- 4:46Speaker 2: For as long as I've lived here in Orlando has
- 4:49Speaker 2: been that. I remember when people comedians would show up
- 4:53Speaker 2: into town and I would bring them to Gringo's Locos
- 4:56Speaker 2: and go double D man cheese as an adhesive. Yeah,
- 5:01Speaker 2: double talk, get that cheese, glue that double D TALKO
- 5:05Speaker 2: like it really feels the chicken, the grilled chicken. It
- 5:08Speaker 2: was so good. And once again this is another great
- 5:10Speaker 2: example of me eating crow from all those years ago,
- 5:14Speaker 2: of me kind of poking fun at I believe something
- 5:16Speaker 2: that you were in love with that fell to the waistside,
- 5:19Speaker 2: and I made fun of going like who cares? And
- 5:21Speaker 2: now Ringo's Locos is gone, and I'm like, I care,
- 5:25Speaker 2: what was that when Sears or kar Yeah, it was
- 5:28Speaker 2: what Sears closed? And I was like, what the hell?
- 5:31Speaker 2: Well for us though, that was the stop with So
- 5:33Speaker 2: my wife and I would go. Bull and Bush is
- 5:35Speaker 2: literally separated by a alley from Gringo Locos down in
- 5:38Speaker 2: the Milk District. So when I would go and see
- 5:40Speaker 2: stand up, my wife and I would go out to
- 5:42Speaker 2: these open mics. Bull and Bush had a Saturday night
- 5:44Speaker 2: show every other Saturday, and I actually, you know, it's
- 5:47Speaker 2: where a lot of the guys like Cam Patterson, David
- 5:49Speaker 2: Jolly you, oh yeah, a lot of the other guys,
- 5:51Speaker 2: Jake Rica, all the guys that you were talking about
- 5:53Speaker 2: yesterday in Austin, they all started doing that open mic.
- 5:56Speaker 2: So my wife and I would go to Gringo's Locos.
- 5:58Speaker 2: We'd eat tacos and we just got of my great
- 6:00Speaker 2: over there to throw darts and wait until the comedy
- 6:02Speaker 2: show started. Because I respect the game of comedy and
- 6:05Speaker 2: I love doing stand up comedy. I have to correct
- 6:07Speaker 2: you on one thing. Please do not an open mic
- 6:11Speaker 2: on that Saturday that my friend is a comedy showcase. Yeah, showcase.
- 6:15Speaker 2: That's a much different case, right, Yeah. I don't want
- 6:17Speaker 2: people to get the wrong idea like Saturday Nights Bowling Bush,
- 6:20Speaker 2: like that's people are on that show for a reason. Yeah,
- 6:23Speaker 2: it was a showcase. You're right now. You couldn't just
- 6:24Speaker 2: come up there. You had to You had to have time. Yeah,
- 6:26Speaker 2: you know what you're doing. Got had to earn your strike, right, Yes.
- 6:31Speaker 2: I just love the game too much. Yeah, so it's
- 6:34Speaker 2: all gone now, no answers, And you're right, you know,
- 6:36Speaker 2: I couldn't agree more. And I believe that we have
- 6:38Speaker 2: a number of those places, and I think everybody from
- 6:41Speaker 2: their hometown has that look like for us and Pullack
- 6:44Speaker 2: it's Angels Diner. I thought you were gonna say Angels Dust.
- 6:49Speaker 2: Well that too. Angels Diner, I think is the oldest
- 6:52Speaker 2: continuously operating diner in the state of Florida. Like it
- 6:55Speaker 2: opened up in the twenties. Yeah, it's like an old
- 6:57Speaker 2: airstream looking thing and it's right there in downtown. It's
- 7:00Speaker 2: been there forever and that's kind of one of our
- 7:03Speaker 2: like tourist attractions in that town, and that's part of
- 7:05Speaker 2: our culture. And I can understand little places is gonna
- 7:08Speaker 2: be like that in Florida. Are in Central Florida would
- 7:10Speaker 2: say they maybe hot Dog Heaven and Beefy King. Yeah,
- 7:14Speaker 2: those have kind of established themselves. Austin's Coffee House and
- 7:18Speaker 2: Wells Pub and uh and uh Wally's. Those are all
- 7:22Speaker 2: like cultural institutions to this city that if you tried
- 7:25Speaker 2: to franchise those brands it would not work. They sponsored
- 7:31Speaker 2: my first fringe show, Gringos Locos.
- 7:35Speaker 3: Wow.
- 7:35Speaker 2: Crazy sponsored my first friend show. And the whole reason
- 7:38Speaker 2: why they sponsored it is because many moons ago, like
- 7:41Speaker 2: a decade, I made a Gringos Loco sketch. It was
- 7:46Speaker 2: really it was like a poem that I wrote and
- 7:48Speaker 2: said dramatically, the very dramatic clips of me eating the
- 7:51Speaker 2: taco and they loved it so much that they supported
- 7:55Speaker 2: me back. Yeah. I know that Tom and Dan also
- 7:57Speaker 2: did a lot of stuff with him, that Gringos was
- 7:59Speaker 2: a sponsors of their stuff as well, but not sure
- 8:01Speaker 2: how long that'll be. Yeah. No, there's no indication of
- 8:04Speaker 2: they're coming back, no indication they're closed forever. No nothing.
- 8:06Speaker 2: I mean again, what I read this morning was the
- 8:09Speaker 2: latest report written this morning, like seven thirty. Nobody was
- 8:12Speaker 2: responding to anything on their side of the world. Am
- 8:14Speaker 2: I being over dramatic by saying that Gringos closing is
- 8:20Speaker 2: like a shot to Orlando's culture, like at almost like
- 8:23Speaker 2: a small little little bit of a little bit, a
- 8:26Speaker 2: little bit, one hundred percent. It's just because of the
- 8:28Speaker 2: tenure it's been around for quite a while. I would say, like,
- 8:30Speaker 2: you know, if Tijuana Flats went out at a different
- 8:33Speaker 2: level because it doesn't have the same cultural footprint, but
- 8:36Speaker 2: it would be the same kind of thing because it's
- 8:37Speaker 2: a hometown product. Because who was there for you at
- 8:40Speaker 2: two am? Yeah, you were downtown Orlando, man, and still
- 8:43Speaker 2: doing it right though, I mean, you're not getting the
- 8:45Speaker 2: junket two am. Do you think that the changes in
- 8:48Speaker 2: downtown Orlando, where it's there by design is becoming less
- 8:54Speaker 2: of a late night thing had an effect on that
- 8:58Speaker 2: lo Okay, I presume it would have an effect on
- 9:00Speaker 2: that location. But do you think that it all played
- 9:03Speaker 2: into the decision to clause them all? Everything I read
- 9:05Speaker 2: today said it was a legal battle that's been been
- 9:07Speaker 2: going on since twenty twenty two. They've been fighting pretty
- 9:10Speaker 2: arts since then. And maybe it's just they ran out
- 9:12Speaker 2: of cash, ran out of capital. Maybe there's a judgment
- 9:15Speaker 2: we don't know about yet that they have to adhere to.
- 9:17Speaker 2: Who knows, I don't know. Maybe the KASO wasn't case.
- 9:20Speaker 2: I'm sure, maybe it was just adhesive faiso, his old
- 9:24Speaker 2: fake caso. Hey, I got a question for Jack. Yes,
- 9:27Speaker 2: you're a smart guy. I have my moment and you're
- 9:29Speaker 2: right here and you have my moment, and you understand
- 9:32Speaker 2: this stuff more than me. Today is Barack Obama's birthday. Okay, Right?
- 9:35Speaker 2: They list him as the forty fourth president, and it
- 9:37Speaker 2: is right, Yes, why isn't he the forty fifth president? WHOA?
- 9:44Speaker 2: Because why would you he got re elected? Did he not?
- 9:47Speaker 2: He he had to still run, He got us four years. Yeah,
- 9:50Speaker 2: he ran, he got re elected. Why isn't he the
- 9:53Speaker 2: forty fifth president as well? Why is it only that
- 9:56Speaker 2: you're the forty fourth president through those eight years, but
- 9:59Speaker 2: you got reelect because it's consecutive. There wasn't a change
- 10:03Speaker 2: in the presidency. So the only two times with Trump,
- 10:06Speaker 2: and was it Garfield was the other one was president?
- 10:09Speaker 2: I don't think it was Garfield, was Grover Cleveland? It's Cleveland?
- 10:12Speaker 4: Then?
- 10:13Speaker 2: Yeah, those two mixed up, right, Yeah, they weren't. They
- 10:15Speaker 2: weren't content. Yeah, yeah, so there was that president between
- 10:18Speaker 2: That's when you get two different numbers. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 10:20Speaker 2: I saw it. He was like, why is that happen?
- 10:22Speaker 2: Why is that? Because I mean he did get re elected.
- 10:24Speaker 2: They went through the entire election process. Yeah yeah, yeh yeah.
- 10:27Speaker 2: And every president that has has won re election consecutively
- 10:31Speaker 2: as only that one presidency. Correct, but they but they
- 10:34Speaker 2: actually were president through two terms, but they don't get
- 10:38Speaker 2: the number that coincides with that second term. But other people,
- 10:41Speaker 2: there's only two others that did this, you know, got
- 10:44Speaker 2: re elected and they get the forty five you know,
- 10:45Speaker 2: Trump gets forty five and forty seven, correct, and Cleveland
- 10:48Speaker 2: gets whatever he was back in the Yeah, I ain't
- 10:51Speaker 2: no one wearing those hats. Yeah, no, he's wearing those.
- 10:54Speaker 2: That's right. Nobody's wearing forty five plus. Yeah. Well, I
- 10:59Speaker 2: appreciate that. I really did not know. I saw that
- 11:01Speaker 2: this morning. I just couldn't figure out why. What was
- 11:02Speaker 2: the case? Man, It's gonna be whoever wins, whoever becomes
- 11:05Speaker 2: the fiftieth You got lucky. That's kind of epic. And
- 11:09Speaker 2: the fiftieth president, Yeah, we celebrate that. What do you mean, well,
- 11:13Speaker 2: who's the twenty fifth? Then? I just think fifty is
- 11:16Speaker 2: a big thing. I just think fifty's a big deal.
- 11:19Speaker 2: It is a big deal to right, don't mean to
- 11:23Speaker 2: hit you with that. I didn't mean to hit you
- 11:24Speaker 2: with that shot. It's fine, I'll answer it. I know,
- 11:27Speaker 2: I'll tell you later. Like the sixteenth he remember that guy?
- 11:32Speaker 2: Oh okay, okay, you talk about ab L dude, let's go. Yeah,
- 11:37Speaker 2: everyone calls him that. I kind of regret saying that.
- 11:39Speaker 2: All right for seven nine one text us seven seven
- 11:43Speaker 2: zero three wind will forget your three o'clock keyword is
- 11:45Speaker 2: fun if you in go to real radio OUTFM and
- 11:48Speaker 2: send that away for your chance at one thousand dollars.
- 11:51Speaker 2: We do have a bunch of fun stuff talk about today.
- 11:52Speaker 2: We'll get don that a little bit later. What do
- 11:54Speaker 2: you guys get for news? Well, first of all, I'm
- 11:56Speaker 2: gonna take a shot in the dark and say taft
- 11:59Speaker 2: because it's it's just one of my favorite presidents to say. Okay,
- 12:02Speaker 2: there you go, all right, and not so fast on
- 12:04Speaker 2: the property tax amendment? According to a judge, did you
- 12:08Speaker 2: know about the gag inducing glob Jim, I don't buddy,
- 12:12Speaker 2: no money man. Yeah, and don't touch the fuzzy caterpillars.
- 12:17Speaker 2: We'll tell you why you got it. Man. Let's take
- 12:19Speaker 2: little break. We'll come back and get the boys news
- 12:20Speaker 2: and continue on with the Jim Colberg Show. I guess
- 12:23Speaker 2: hope you guys are doing well, so Jack.
- 12:25Speaker 3: I don't think that location closing, Lugus locus closing has
- 12:28Speaker 3: anything to do with downtown. Those are two different crowds.
- 12:31Speaker 3: The Mills fifty crowd in the downtown crowd don't vibe
- 12:34Speaker 3: to get it, not the same crowd.
- 12:35Speaker 2: But I don't think that I had anything to do
- 12:37Speaker 2: with it. Thanks, Bye bye, fun Is it your three
- 12:42Speaker 2: flucky word?
- 12:42Speaker 5: Guys?
- 12:43Speaker 2: Get over to real Radio Dot of him and send
- 12:44Speaker 2: that away for your chance at one thousand bucks. F

- 13:42Speaker 2: radio dot FM slash poker bang onto the top story.
- 13:45Speaker 2: Florida property tax amendment is misleading what and must be rewritten,
- 13:51Speaker 2: A judge rules Eric Rayer, The proposed property tax amendment
- 13:56Speaker 2: that's supposed to go before voters this November is misleading.
- 13:59Speaker 2: According to Judge David Frank, he is ordering the Florida
- 14:02Speaker 2: Attorney General to rewrite the ballot measure, which he says
- 14:06Speaker 2: is full of political taglines that do more to make
- 14:10Speaker 2: the amendment appealing for voters than actually tell them what
- 14:14Speaker 2: the amendment will do. I thought that was every amendment.
- 14:18Speaker 2: Attorney General James uth Meyer has to submit the revised
- 14:21Speaker 2: ballot language to the Florida Department of State within the
- 14:24Speaker 2: next ten days. Then anyone challenging the new ballot language
- 14:28Speaker 2: has ten days to do so once it's submitted to
- 14:32Speaker 2: the Department of State. Remember, at least sixty percent of
- 14:34Speaker 2: vote as much to prove the amendment on the November
- 14:37Speaker 2: ballot for it to pass. Wow. Well there you go,
- 14:40Speaker 2: speaking of uth Meyer, Jim, the Florida AG wants Congress
- 14:44Speaker 2: to impeach a sitting judge and I said sitting hah.
- 14:49Speaker 2: Florida Attorney General James Authmeyer says he's formally asked Congress
- 14:52Speaker 2: to open an impeachment acquired into federal circuit. George Nancy Abbado, Okay,
- 14:57Speaker 2: what she do what a do well. He's citing his
- 15:06Speaker 2: her past work for the Southern Poverty Law Center along
- 15:08Speaker 2: with fraud allegations. It's an unusual and aggressive move. State
- 15:13Speaker 2: ahs don't actually typically go after judges through Congress. Jim,
- 15:17Speaker 2: if this guy, these guys don't play by any rules.
- 15:20Speaker 2: Have you read. It's kind of like taking out, you know,
- 15:22Speaker 2: your your clean chess piece a little in your third move.
- 15:26Speaker 2: The REQUS is already drawing sharp reactions from legal circles,
- 15:29Speaker 2: but critics calling it political and supporters calling it accountability.
- 15:34Speaker 2: Except this one to become a bigger state wide story. Jim. Yeah, yeah,
- 15:38Speaker 2: back to you, Jack, You do stuff like that when
- 15:40Speaker 2: they're in checks of mallons that you can do whatever
- 15:41Speaker 2: you want. Yeah, yeah, yeah, nobody's gonna cut you. Everything's fine. Well,
- 15:45Speaker 2: things are better now in the city of Maitland, and
- 15:48Speaker 2: specifically the sewer system after a gag inducing glob was
- 15:52Speaker 2: pulled from the sewer. Now, this actually happened just two
- 15:56Speaker 2: weeks ago officials in Maitland. Jim, you're familiar with the
- 15:59Speaker 2: city of Lin in central Florida.
- 16:01Speaker 6: I am.
- 16:01Speaker 2: It's right around the corner here, it's right under your ass.
- 16:05Speaker 2: That is where we are located. Matter of fact, we
- 16:07Speaker 2: might contribute, We possibly have contributed to this. I can help.
- 16:12Speaker 2: I like how that sounded offensive, but no, take it literal. Yeah, yeah,
- 16:15Speaker 2: it's under your ass. Giant gagging inducing glob is how
- 16:19Speaker 2: they describe it. They pull it out of a municipal
- 16:22Speaker 2: sewer pump in the Domerrich Hill's neighbor Yeah. Yeah, that's
- 16:27Speaker 2: a nice neighborhood too, by the way. Yeah, so the
- 16:29Speaker 2: ma this glob is made up of wipes, Greece and
- 16:34Speaker 2: other things that absolutely should not be flushed. Faberg right, yeah, exactly, fags.
- 16:40Speaker 2: But it's a reminder. Even though they say flushable wipes,
- 16:42Speaker 2: they're like, please do not flush them. Yeah, anyone who
- 16:46Speaker 2: works in the system as hard as a sewer system,
- 16:49Speaker 2: they say, please do not. You know anybody that does that,
- 16:54Speaker 2: that uses them? I think, no, Well I don't. No,
- 17:00Speaker 2: let me say this. I know I know people who
- 17:03Speaker 2: use this. They sound guilty. I don't know if they
- 17:06Speaker 2: use him or not, because I don't talk to people
- 17:08Speaker 2: about what they use. The wife their MUDs. So it's
- 17:11Speaker 2: a giant glow, yeah, a glob, a stanky glob. It's
- 17:16Speaker 2: a fat berg. Yeah, So how do you defeat a
- 17:18Speaker 2: fat berg, a couple buns and some cheese, or how
- 17:23Speaker 2: about a giant fireball? Wow? Wow, really learn it right.
- 17:28Speaker 2: Orlando International Airport turned into a controlled disaster zone overnight
- 17:33Speaker 2: as close to one hundred first responders and volunteers took
- 17:36Speaker 2: part in a massive emergency drill. Oh this is a drill.
- 17:40Speaker 2: It was a drill. Sorry, I used it as a segue,
- 17:42Speaker 2: and then I fully was like, well, this is gonna
- 17:44Speaker 2: be kind of a letdown. That's how you deliver the news.
- 17:49Speaker 2: Geez stuff, and then clear it all up right there
- 17:52Speaker 2: in the last sentence. Well, the story is real. The
- 17:55Speaker 2: scenario a simulated natural gas pipeline rupture and near the
- 18:00Speaker 2: airport grounds, or as I like to call that, die
- 18:03Speaker 2: hard four exactly. That's what I thought you were about
- 18:06Speaker 2: to say. Is they filmed something that nobody knew about.
- 18:09Speaker 2: Cruise from multiple agencies practice coordinating a real world mass
- 18:14Speaker 2: casualty response complete with a staged fireball. Oh nice, so
- 18:19Speaker 2: they staged one. Airport officials say these large scale drills
- 18:22Speaker 2: happened to make sure MCO, one of the busiest airports
- 18:26Speaker 2: in the country, is ready if the unthinkable ever happened.
- 18:30Speaker 2: So don't worry. There's no actual incident, there's no danger,
- 18:33Speaker 2: just Central Florida emergency teams just getting their reps in.
- 18:37Speaker 2: That was pitbull there, like that, they're going all out
- 18:40Speaker 2: when you stage a fireball. I Jim, I liken this
- 18:44Speaker 2: to my time when I was filming the film Contact
- 18:47Speaker 2: with with Jodie Foster. H Yeah, your hours on set,
- 18:50Speaker 2: my hours on set, and my buddy Bob. He was
- 18:53Speaker 2: director Bob Zemeckis. You might have heard of him. Yeah,
- 18:56Speaker 2: when he would through a megaphone yell at me and
- 18:59Speaker 2: the thousands of others extras saying, Okay, pretend like there's
- 19:03Speaker 2: an explosion and run the other way. I love that.
- 19:07Speaker 2: That's great. I have a feeling that's what the fireball was, right,
- 19:10Speaker 2: since it's a simulated fireball, I think that it was
- 19:12Speaker 2: just like that. Well, speaking of the cape where we
- 19:16Speaker 2: filmed the movie Contact, at least parts of it, the
- 19:20Speaker 2: FAA wants a fast track one thousand rocket launches a year.
- 19:23Speaker 2: I know we talked about this when deb was here,
- 19:26Speaker 2: but we have an update. We're and we're talking what
- 19:28Speaker 2: that's more than three a day or about three a day? Crazy?
- 19:32Speaker 4: Right?
- 19:32Speaker 2: So the FAA is proposing to waive requirements under thirteen
- 19:37Speaker 2: environmental and historic preservation laws, including parts of the Endangered
- 19:42Speaker 2: Species Act and Clean Water Act, to streamline reviews for
- 19:45Speaker 2: commercial space launches. What the push comes as the agency
- 19:50Speaker 2: prepares for the possibility of up to one thousand launches
- 19:52Speaker 2: a year. And now that's a huge jump from where
- 19:55Speaker 2: things stand right now. I think it's like ten times
- 19:57Speaker 2: what we're doing now that for the space East Coast
- 20:00Speaker 2: and central Florida residents, that could mean a lot more
- 20:03Speaker 2: sonic booms, traffic closures, and economic activity headed their way now.
- 20:08Speaker 2: Environmental groups say they support the industry's growth, but want
- 20:12Speaker 2: it done responsibly. Public comments on the proposal are being
- 20:16Speaker 2: accepted through August thirty first, So you got an opinion
- 20:20Speaker 2: on the sky over Florida, specifically Brevard County getting a
- 20:25Speaker 2: lot busier. Now is your windowed away in? Yeah? That's wild.
- 20:28Speaker 2: I wonder what that propellant looks like when it comes out,
- 20:30Speaker 2: Like what the when that settles to the ground, that
- 20:34Speaker 2: residue of the propellant as those rockets go off, what
- 20:37Speaker 2: does that do? Like? Is that poisonous to people? Is
- 20:40Speaker 2: it poisoning the water? Is it poisoning like the when
- 20:43Speaker 2: you go outside or your kids playing in grass, it's
- 20:46Speaker 2: covered in then in rocket propellant. You know, you know
- 20:49Speaker 2: what I'm saying there. I mean, if you're sending three
- 20:51Speaker 2: of those things up a day, that's going to drift
- 20:54Speaker 2: and land somewhere. Have we proven that that's safe? I
- 20:58Speaker 2: haven't feeling the people who have those answers, aren't they
- 21:01Speaker 2: also that say, people who want those answers?
- 21:03Speaker 6: No one?
- 21:03Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I bet yeah. But uh, anyway, so that
- 21:06Speaker 2: that's a big change. Remember when they you talk about
- 21:09Speaker 2: deregulation take you know, regulations and rules are there to
- 21:12Speaker 2: protect people and the environment. So you want to be
- 21:16Speaker 2: just make sure you're doing the right thing before we
- 21:18Speaker 2: say just have ad it. Yeah, enough to mention, we've
- 21:20Speaker 2: just poured millions of dollars into that into that area
- 21:22Speaker 2: over there to make sure those sewer systems aren't leaking
- 21:25Speaker 2: a sewer water or anything that could that could expedite
- 21:29Speaker 2: the growth of algae and the lagoon over there. Well,
- 21:32Speaker 2: I mean, DeSantis is one of the things that I
- 21:33Speaker 2: think he's done that's quite well, is he's he's dedicated
- 21:35Speaker 2: tens of millions of dollars to cleaning up these waterways. Yeah,
- 21:38Speaker 2: and it just seems like if you fast tracked all
- 21:40Speaker 2: these launches and we don't know what the propellant does
- 21:42Speaker 2: when it settles, it just seems to be a defeating
- 21:45Speaker 2: the purpose. Well, speaking of the waterways in Brevard County, well,
- 21:49Speaker 2: I don't know, Jim, if it's poisoning the water, but
- 21:52Speaker 2: I do know some water will be poisoning some wallets.
- 21:55Speaker 2: Oh yeah, Brevard County could quad drup all quadrup quad
- 22:00Speaker 2: drup water connection fees Bervard County. Where you're going, there's
- 22:06Speaker 2: no road. That's four times. That didn't make sense, but
- 22:08Speaker 2: it sounded dramatic and it was quoting back to the future.
- 22:11Speaker 2: Bervard County commissioners meet today consider a proposal that would
- 22:14Speaker 2: quadruple the cost of new water connections and double new
- 22:19Speaker 2: sewer hookup fees. Damn don't. The county says the heights
- 22:23Speaker 2: are needed to cover the cost of growth and meet
- 22:26Speaker 2: federal regulations as more people move to the area. If
- 22:29Speaker 2: you're building a new home or business in Bravard, this
- 22:32Speaker 2: one is going to hit you. Home Owners already connected
- 22:36Speaker 2: wouldn't see a direct fee change. That's good, but the
- 22:38Speaker 2: ripple effect on new construction costs could show up in
- 22:42Speaker 2: home prices right all the way down the line. Expect
- 22:45Speaker 2: pushback from builders at a meeting up here soon. So
- 22:50Speaker 2: what I hear is is one of the most expensive
- 22:52Speaker 2: states to live in in the entire US is now
- 22:56Speaker 2: going to get a little more expensive if you're buying
- 22:58Speaker 2: a new home because of these Yeah, now, only if
- 23:01Speaker 2: you want to have water and sewer are in your house.
- 23:04Speaker 2: You should have said that upfront and were more clear.
- 23:07Speaker 2: And I'm also always going to overdose on the irony
- 23:10Speaker 2: of living in Florida and water being expensive. We're surrounded
- 23:15Speaker 2: by We're a peninsula whatever. Oh right, well, guess what,
- 23:19Speaker 2: We're also surrounded by pets and the pets who needs home.
- 23:23Speaker 2: And so they're doing something this month throughout the state
- 23:28Speaker 2: of Florida, the SPCA Florida and shelters statewide. They're taking
- 23:32Speaker 2: part of the nationwide Clear the Shelters campaign throughout August.
- 23:37Speaker 2: So absolutely just they're going to open the doors and
- 23:42Speaker 2: so just if you just stand outside the month of August,
- 23:45Speaker 2: just pick up whatever you do whatever you can. Now. Actually,
- 23:50Speaker 2: they're offering reduced or waived adoption fees on hundreds of
- 23:53Speaker 2: dogs and cats and Meanwhile, in Polk County, Animal Control
- 23:57Speaker 2: and SPCA Florida are also offering free rabies vaccinations and
- 24:01Speaker 2: micro chips after a confirmed rabies case turned up in
- 24:05Speaker 2: the county recently. It's a two for one. You get
- 24:08Speaker 2: a new best friend and you get your existing pets protected.
- 24:11Speaker 2: Local shelters say August is historically one of their most
- 24:14Speaker 2: crowded months, so the timing could not be better for
- 24:18Speaker 2: anyone thinking about adopting. And Ross is going to tell
- 24:21Speaker 2: you why some shelters might be getting more crowded real
- 24:24Speaker 2: quick before we go out. I wonder why August is
- 24:26Speaker 2: such a big month for adopting. That's wild, because like
- 24:29Speaker 2: kids are going back to school and stuff. I mean,
- 24:31Speaker 2: I wonder why that is. Well, it might be because
- 24:34Speaker 2: this seventy seven year old Florida woman just loves the
- 24:37Speaker 2: month of August. Because this is a gnarly story. A
- 24:42Speaker 2: longtime US Postal Service employee who is seventy seven is
- 24:45Speaker 2: facing charges after investigators found close to how many cats
- 24:50Speaker 2: and dogs jim in her house. Yelp, where is she?
- 24:54Speaker 2: What part of town? Stuart? She's in Stuart, Florida, Stuart, Florida.
- 25:00Speaker 2: You're reading this like it's a lot. I mean, I'll
- 25:03Speaker 2: go forty, how about one hundred? Yeah? Now, think of
- 25:08Speaker 2: what life would be like in that home. I guessed
- 25:11Speaker 2: comically high. And it gets even weirder because the whole
- 25:16Speaker 2: thing started when someone actually saw her. The postal worker
- 25:21Speaker 2: stole a cat off of just the postal route. So
- 25:25Speaker 2: given mail, given mail, scoop up a cat, given mail. Yeah.
- 25:30Speaker 2: Deputies discovered she had apparently been quietly gathering, gathering faral
- 25:34Speaker 2: cats for years.
- 25:35Speaker 4: Wow.
- 25:36Speaker 2: The sheriff says she doesn't believe she meant harm, but
- 25:39Speaker 2: simply lost the ability to properly care for all of
- 25:42Speaker 2: these animals. Animal services, the Human Society of the of
- 25:46Speaker 2: the Treasure Coast, and even the counties has Matt team
- 25:49Speaker 2: were called in the has Matt team Yeah yeah, to
- 25:52Speaker 2: help extract all the animals from a home. Investigators say
- 25:55Speaker 2: hit over one hundred degrees inside with zero ventilations. All
- 25:59Speaker 2: the red pitts are now being evaluated for adoption. You
- 26:03Speaker 2: should never have that many cats when if you're ever,
- 26:05Speaker 2: imagine that on a tender date. So how many dogs
- 26:08Speaker 2: and cats you get? So do cat people look at
- 26:10Speaker 2: cats like tattoo people look at tattoos? Is that what
- 26:12Speaker 2: it is like. You get one, you get bored. After
- 26:14Speaker 2: a while, you figure out, I've seen this one a bunch.
- 26:15Speaker 2: It's not for a new one.
- 26:17Speaker 7: Is that what it is?
- 26:17Speaker 2: I think with this case, since she was a letter carrier,
- 26:21Speaker 2: I think she would encounter strays and wanted she's doing
- 26:26Speaker 2: a good thing for the community. Yeah, just picking up
- 26:27Speaker 2: feral cats and just started collecting them and couldn't stop.
- 26:30Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah, like Pokemon. Yeah, well Caliko, yeah, I
- 26:35Speaker 2: choose you. One thing you don't get you if you're
- 26:37Speaker 2: out in Florida, there is a thing you don't want
- 26:40Speaker 2: to collect, and that's fuzzy caterpillar. You do not want
- 26:43Speaker 2: to be near these things. Have you seen any I
- 26:45Speaker 2: actually have one of my foot last year and it
- 26:47Speaker 2: left a mark. Oh my, that's the worst. It feels like,
- 26:49Speaker 2: you're it feels like somebody I'll tell you exactly what
- 26:51Speaker 2: it feels like. It feels like somebody takes a bolt,
- 26:54Speaker 2: like a good sized bolt, and they heat it up
- 26:55Speaker 2: with a with a torch and then they then they
- 26:58Speaker 2: just lay that on your skin. There is a bird, right, Yeah,
- 27:00Speaker 2: it's brutal. So if you've seen the fuzzy caterpillars, around
- 27:03Speaker 2: your yard or in a local park. Lately, wildlife experts
- 27:06Speaker 2: say do not touch them. They're tussock moth caterpillars, and
- 27:11Speaker 2: while they look soft and cuddly, their bristly hairs can
- 27:14Speaker 2: cause a nasty skin rash that burns on contact. Central
- 27:19Speaker 2: Florida has seen an uptake in sightings over the past
- 27:21Speaker 2: few weeks as the caterpillars move through their growth cycle.
- 27:26Speaker 2: Experts say to keep kids and pets away and never
- 27:29Speaker 2: to handle them bare handed, even out of curiosity. It's
- 27:33Speaker 2: just a seasonal reminder of that Florida can be dangerous,
- 27:35Speaker 2: and they suck by the way. It leaves a mark,
- 27:38Speaker 2: and it's like there's no relief for it. It's not fun.
- 27:42Speaker 2: It just feels like a really bad burn. Oh right.
- 27:45Speaker 2: New statewide analysis has identified the deadliest area for car
- 27:49Speaker 2: crashes in Florida. What road do you think it is,
- 27:52Speaker 2: Jim Colbert, It's got to be I four because at
- 27:55Speaker 2: one point ifour was considered one of the deadliest roads
- 27:57Speaker 2: in the entire nation.
- 27:58Speaker 6: Was it not?
- 28:00Speaker 2: Oh gone baby? You know, yep yep. Traffic and safety
- 28:05Speaker 2: researchers cope through years of crash data to pinpoint the
- 28:08Speaker 2: corridor citing a combination of high traffic volume, road design,
- 28:12Speaker 2: and speed as contributing factors. Traffic data consistently identifies Interstate
- 28:18Speaker 2: four alongside local arterial segments like South Orange Blossom Trail
- 28:22Speaker 2: in US seventeen ninety two in Orange County, at Central
- 28:26Speaker 2: Florida's most perilous and deadly stretches of road. Which is
- 28:29Speaker 2: wild because I only run into really really gnarly traffic.
- 28:33Speaker 2: I've seen bad with trashes on I four, but I
- 28:35Speaker 2: think primarily like you know, you get down there and
- 28:37Speaker 2: near the tourist areas, when people aren't familiar, they're you know,
- 28:40Speaker 2: not driving on the right side of the road that
- 28:41Speaker 2: they're normally used to at home, that's bad. But man,
- 28:45Speaker 2: seventy five for me is the I hate driving on
- 28:48Speaker 2: I seventy five more than any road in the state. Really. Yeah,
- 28:52Speaker 2: it's just it's man, you just got tractor trailers going
- 28:55Speaker 2: ninety five miles an hour. I mean, just everybody. It's
- 28:57Speaker 2: just it just seems like it just seems like unregulated mayhem.
- 29:02Speaker 2: That was like, I mean, there's you know that was
- 29:05Speaker 2: on the top five list, not surprisingly in Florida I
- 29:08Speaker 2: ninety five as well. Yeah, yeah, yeah, well it's it's crazy, right,
- 29:12Speaker 2: it's mad, almost as mad as the mad Lands Caged Cannibals.
- 29:17Speaker 2: I'm on a roll. Halloween Horrornites adds a new house.
- 29:21Speaker 2: That's right, Madlands, Caged Cannibals know this is this is
- 29:25Speaker 2: a video game. No Universe. Orlando has announced the new
- 29:28Speaker 2: Hunted House joining the lineup for Halloween horn Nights thirty five.
- 29:31Speaker 2: By the way, thirty five thirty five years. Every time,
- 29:34Speaker 2: that's always a big one. We gotta celebrate that. Details
- 29:37Speaker 2: are still mean teas, but it continues that the Madlands
- 29:39Speaker 2: storyland that became one of Halloween horrn Nit's signature original
- 29:43Speaker 2: concepts in recent years, is back again. Halloween horn Nights
- 29:47Speaker 2: remains one of the greatest Orlando annual events, drawing horror
- 29:52Speaker 2: fans from not only just over the country. How about
- 29:55Speaker 2: the war Yeah, man all the way here to Orlando
- 29:58Speaker 2: to get their blood gornon, guts on, shout out to
- 30:01Speaker 2: Halloween Horror Night. I'll give you an idea of how
- 30:02Speaker 2: popular it is. Right, So, a few weeks back, you know,
- 30:06Speaker 2: my wife's birthday actually is today, Happy birthday. I nim
- 30:08Speaker 2: heavy birthday. It was romantic, yeah, and we were I
- 30:13Speaker 2: was gonna do the rip tour because she always, you know,
- 30:16Speaker 2: take our passes upgrade to rip to rip. If you
- 30:18Speaker 2: don't know is you meet it drinks and cocktails or
- 30:21Speaker 2: at least we did before. I don't know if they
- 30:23Speaker 2: do that anymore. And then you get a guided tour
- 30:24Speaker 2: with you and just like eight other people, right, So
- 30:26Speaker 2: it's groups, not cheap, groups of ten. They walk you
- 30:30Speaker 2: to every you will hit every house, you'll get every house.
- 30:33Speaker 2: It's the only way to write guarantee it. Even with
- 30:35Speaker 2: express passes, you're not guaranteed every house. And they stop
- 30:39Speaker 2: for drinks on the way. You don't have to worry
- 30:40Speaker 2: about wasting time things like three or four hours. It's great,
- 30:44Speaker 2: but it's also like seven hundred dollars. It's expensive each
- 30:49Speaker 2: like between like five fifty seven or something like that. Right,
- 30:52Speaker 2: And when I went to book hours, we didn't get
- 30:55Speaker 2: it though, because it was too damn expensive. When I
- 30:56Speaker 2: told my wife how expensive was, she goes, no, I'll
- 30:58Speaker 2: just do the regular with express pass. We'll make the
- 31:00Speaker 2: best of it. How many dates do you think we're
- 31:02Speaker 2: available in uh going up until the end of it?
- 31:07Speaker 8: Uh?
- 31:07Speaker 4: Uh?
- 31:08Speaker 2: Ten? Yeah, it was I think it was between ten
- 31:10Speaker 2: and twenty were available, and those were like Tuesday night,
- 31:14Speaker 2: you know, in early September. I mean, give me express
- 31:17Speaker 2: past man, dude, you it is. It is the most
- 31:21Speaker 2: popular phenomenon I've ever seen in the city. I've never
- 31:25Speaker 2: seen anything bigger than Halloween her Knights in Orlando. Here's
- 31:29Speaker 2: a tease never before said. Right now on Real Radio
- 31:32Speaker 2: for twenty twenty six, that not only the Jim Colbert Show,
- 31:35Speaker 2: but Uh News, Junkie and the Monsters all broadcasting live.
- 31:39Speaker 2: Yeah from Universal Studios Friday, September four, Loving that man
- 31:42Speaker 2: promoting Halloween. Harma, that would be so much fun. Man,
- 31:45Speaker 2: it is absolutely one of the best times of the year.
- 31:47Speaker 2: We love it. Yeah, and we love the invite. Thanks guys,
- 31:50Speaker 2: we appreciate that. Y'all done. That is the news. Thank you,
- 31:53Speaker 2: mortgage guy, dog dope d.
- 31:58Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 31:58Speaker 2: Everything's dead now we need it's weird and here because
- 32:04Speaker 2: I don't hear your pecky get her keyboard in here.
- 32:06Speaker 2: Three it is chug a chuga. There we go. All right, good,
- 32:10Speaker 2: We'll take a little break back in a second. More
- 32:12Speaker 2: than a.
- 32:15Speaker 9: Hey, j C and Posse working out of Fort Polk,
- 32:18Speaker 9: they have a mock village and then that mock village.
- 32:21Speaker 9: They have a gas station that has a piece of
- 32:25Speaker 9: equipment that collects propane at which when it is full,
- 32:30Speaker 9: they ignite it and it throws a fireball in the air. Uh,
- 32:34Speaker 9: really cool to see. Scares the hell out of delivery drivers.
- 32:38Speaker 9: He thrower side down, y'all.
- 32:41Speaker 10: Hey, jim Christina Coco Florida here, proud of you for
- 32:44Speaker 10: the six pounds you've lost. Trust me, I'm a big
- 32:48Speaker 10: soda fan just like you, and I had to switch
- 32:50Speaker 10: to the zero sugar. I know it sucks, but I
- 32:54Speaker 10: promise you please just try one Coke.
- 32:58Speaker 2: Zero sugar I am.
- 32:59Speaker 7: I promise you was so much.
- 33:01Speaker 10: Better than the Pepsi zero.
- 33:02Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 33:02Speaker 7: I had one, but it doesn't have that sweetener taste
- 33:05Speaker 7: to it.
- 33:05Speaker 2: Yeah, just try it. Let me know what you think.
- 33:07Speaker 11: Yeah, Jimmy, I'd like to apologize in advance for door
- 33:12Speaker 11: dash and some peanut butter parface to your house, but.
- 33:18Speaker 2: I wouldn't kick them out of the hands. Yeah, your
- 33:19Speaker 2: mother in law would appreciate it.
- 33:21Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 33:21Speaker 2: Yeah, welcome back to the Jim Colbert Show. Your four
- 33:23Speaker 2: o'clock keyword is dollar d O L L A R
- 33:27Speaker 2: slide over two real radio out of him and send
- 33:29Speaker 2: that away for your chance at a thousand of those
- 33:30Speaker 2: dollars dollar guys, that is the word. You'll get the money,
- 33:33Speaker 2: oh man. Yeah yeah. And by the way, the zero
- 33:37Speaker 2: sodas they have more that they're fizzier. So you drink
- 33:41Speaker 2: one and you think a regular soda makes you birth.
- 33:43Speaker 2: These zero sodas, boy, they immediately immediately like blow your
- 33:48Speaker 2: stummaing up with gas. See. If I ever have a soda,
- 33:52Speaker 2: it is either two things. It's a rare. I'll have
- 33:54Speaker 2: it once a quarter. I'll go glass bottle coke. Yeah,
- 33:57Speaker 2: and if it says something in Spanish green light go.
- 34:00Speaker 2: Then what do you drink? Then? Yeah? What do you
- 34:02Speaker 2: just out of curiosity? And what do you drink outside
- 34:05Speaker 2: of water? Because I drink a lot. I've got a
- 34:06Speaker 2: thirty one of these big yetti tumblers and I drink
- 34:09Speaker 2: three or four of those a day in water. And
- 34:12Speaker 2: I used to drink like one pepsi, but my sugar
- 34:14Speaker 2: is like, you know, it's not crazy, but it's bad
- 34:16Speaker 2: enough for I gotta pay attention. I want to keep
- 34:18Speaker 2: my feet so first and foremost water. Second, I'm going
- 34:21Speaker 2: spin drift, little seltzer, a little soft water a little bubbly,
- 34:25Speaker 2: all right, made with fresh juice. It sounds like I'm sponsored.
- 34:28Speaker 2: I'm super not, but I'm desperate, all right. But you're
- 34:31Speaker 2: open to the possibility. But I'm completely open. I think
- 34:34Speaker 2: I am going to try some of those like fruit
- 34:36Speaker 2: flavored kind of seltzery drinks like you're like everybody said,
- 34:39Speaker 2: like I said, and I still have the subscription. Yeah,
- 34:43Speaker 2: OLLI pop cream soda. Yeah, but I mean that's got
- 34:45Speaker 2: that's got tons of sugar in it, doesn't it? Oh no, no, no, yeah,
- 34:50Speaker 2: uh uh it does not. You get the spray dudes,
- 34:54Speaker 2: No no, I went to spray dudes.
- 34:56Speaker 12: You got.
- 34:57Speaker 2: I don't want the spray dudes. You have to it
- 34:59Speaker 2: like on a day, and that one spray today. No
- 35:02Speaker 2: one soda, okay when it comes to that pre or
- 35:06Speaker 2: probiotic sodas, and then you don't even have the salad
- 35:09Speaker 2: if you eat does I thought about getting lacroix and
- 35:12Speaker 2: then just putting a little splendor in the lacroix to
- 35:14Speaker 2: get it a tiny bit sweeter than what it is now.
- 35:16Speaker 2: I think I'm gonna try that. Maybe we'll see how
- 35:18Speaker 2: it goes, all right, four seven nine four one text
- 35:21Speaker 2: us seven seven zero three one. Uh Kaseimmy is considering
- 35:24Speaker 2: some new rules, and I gotta tell you, I'm kind
- 35:27Speaker 2: of interested to see what the audience thinks about this,
- 35:29Speaker 2: because it can be a bit of a room divider
- 35:32Speaker 2: in your neighborhood, Ross and yours as well. Jack. Do
- 35:36Speaker 2: you have people that that park their work vehicles or
- 35:39Speaker 2: bring them home and park them in their in their driveway?
- 35:42Speaker 2: How about on their lawn? I have a couple of
- 35:45Speaker 2: neighbors who have their work vehicles on their lawn, parked
- 35:48Speaker 2: on their lawn, But one of them's an OPD cruiser,
- 35:50Speaker 2: so I don't hassle him, so I don't. I don't
- 35:53Speaker 2: mind that one. It's so funny you mentioned that. What
- 35:55Speaker 2: are the other ones? Like an acy guy, drywall guy, whatever,
- 35:58Speaker 2: subdelivery guy. Yeah, I love that. It's a double whammie
- 36:02Speaker 2: for gym. Right there, you've got worker cars on your
- 36:05Speaker 2: front lawn. No, No, I had this in my neighborhoods
- 36:09Speaker 2: before too.
- 36:11Speaker 5: Do you have it?
- 36:11Speaker 2: Ross? There are pros and cons about not having a
- 36:14Speaker 2: homeowners association, right, yeah, yep, I'll never have a lean
- 36:18Speaker 2: on my home. But three doors down that's forty two cats. Yeah, right, Well,
- 36:23Speaker 2: Kassemi is doing this because residents who park work trucks
- 36:26Speaker 2: in front of their homes could soon see a change.
- 36:30Speaker 2: So what they're trying to do is and this is
- 36:31Speaker 2: not in hoa neighborhoods, this is just like throughout the
- 36:35Speaker 2: city of Kassimi. They're taking up an ordinance that would
- 36:38Speaker 2: update criteria for commercial vehicles and residential areas. The proposed
- 36:42Speaker 2: change would raise the weight limit for commercial vehicles, which
- 36:45Speaker 2: would be from eight thousand pounds to ten thousand pounds,
- 36:48Speaker 2: and they would set a new standard for the size.
- 36:51Speaker 2: And here's why, because the photograph they show in Casseimia
- 36:54Speaker 2: is a guy who lives in a normal, everyday neighborhood. Yeah,
- 36:58Speaker 2: all your homes are, you know, not quite zero lot line,
- 37:01Speaker 2: but not far from it. Probably a quarter acre or
- 37:03Speaker 2: something like that. Right, Yeah, what do you think he's
- 37:05Speaker 2: gonta parked in the yard there like a cherry picker. No,
- 37:10Speaker 2: a trailer of a semi truck, a semi tractor trailer,
- 37:14Speaker 2: just the just the tractor part, not the trailer part. Wow,
- 37:17Speaker 2: it's backed into a little area. It's spence and you
- 37:20Speaker 2: can see it. I mean it's you know, he has
- 37:22Speaker 2: a full sized semi tractor in his yard. Interesting. Now,
- 37:27Speaker 2: the funny thing is is, just like you said, when
- 37:30Speaker 2: I read this ordinance, I'm like, well, does that include officers,
- 37:34Speaker 2: because I know a lot of officers use their patrol car.
- 37:37Speaker 2: They'll take that home. Most people don't care if those
- 37:40Speaker 2: are parked in your driveway. I love it. But that's
- 37:42Speaker 2: a work vehicle. Yeah, it certainly is. That is a
- 37:46Speaker 2: work vehicle. Are they gonna but are they gonna make
- 37:49Speaker 2: some kind of are they are? Are they gonna make
- 37:51Speaker 2: an allotment for that? Yeah? I mean, look, this could
- 37:54Speaker 2: be crazy because one guy says this. He goes, look,
- 37:56Speaker 2: I own a handyman company, and he's got one of
- 37:58Speaker 2: those vans like everybody has the vans, got the hand
- 38:00Speaker 2: any man stuff on it. I'm sure it's got to
- 38:02Speaker 2: a little bit of drywall on paint on the back doors,
- 38:04Speaker 2: because that's what happens, right, got the ladder rack on
- 38:07Speaker 2: top and all the stuff. No problem with that whatsoever.
- 38:10Speaker 2: Everything's fine. Parks had in his driveway in his driveway
- 38:14Speaker 2: like a normal van as a rule, probably wouldn't have
- 38:16Speaker 2: a problem with that either. People are freaking out about it.
- 38:19Speaker 2: This guy says, well, look, if you make me take
- 38:21Speaker 2: my van and put it in a storage area. I
- 38:24Speaker 2: got to pass that expense onto the customer. So now
- 38:27Speaker 2: I've got to raise my prices for my products and
- 38:30Speaker 2: for other people who don't live in Kasimi, who don't
- 38:32Speaker 2: have to adhere to this kind of thing. I'm automatically
- 38:35Speaker 2: in the hole against those people. And that doesn't I mean,
- 38:38Speaker 2: whatever your business is, HVAC, electrical, drywall ac, whatever it is,
- 38:44Speaker 2: I mean, if you if if, if your trucks aren't
- 38:47Speaker 2: allowed to be there, that means that they have to
- 38:50Speaker 2: be in a storage down. Of course, people who work
- 38:53Speaker 2: for a gigant companies, whether it be like one of
- 38:56Speaker 2: Bills's guys, right, I'm sure they have a lot where
- 38:59Speaker 2: they could with that if this, if they were in
- 39:01Speaker 2: that situation. And really the only difference on a lot
- 39:04Speaker 2: of these work vehicles, the only difference is lettering, right,
- 39:08Speaker 2: It is the names on the vanding. Yeah, yeah, because
- 39:11Speaker 2: if it's a van, you could have a you know,
- 39:13Speaker 2: a van or a truck that's you know, just your
- 39:16Speaker 2: personal vehicle. But once you throw those letters on, then
- 39:19Speaker 2: to everyone around it's like, oh, it's a work truck.
- 39:23Speaker 2: Just there's something about it that I don't. It's rubbing me.
- 39:27Speaker 2: You think it's too far of a reach. No, it's
- 39:30Speaker 2: just anything to me. It jumps out to just a
- 39:33Speaker 2: huge usually the majority of the time going to be
- 39:36Speaker 2: a massive loophole for people, smaller businesses or just local businesses.
- 39:43Speaker 2: Uh having to go through to get to the bag.
- 39:46Speaker 2: I don't know, like it feels like it might step
- 39:48Speaker 2: on a small business's future. It's already really hard and
- 39:51Speaker 2: this makes it a little bit harder. So I understand this.
- 39:54Speaker 2: And by the way that even the people who are
- 39:55Speaker 2: arguing against it, they they understand, Like, if you live
- 40:00Speaker 2: in a certain neighborhood, you don't want to have to
- 40:02Speaker 2: go outside and see some dude's well drilling rig, you know,
- 40:05Speaker 2: parked in his driveway. You know, you know, but that's
- 40:09Speaker 2: you know, you drive it around. You don't want to
- 40:11Speaker 2: see you know, you don't want to see that. You
- 40:13Speaker 2: don't want to see guys mult truck in your driveway,
- 40:16Speaker 2: you know, you know, twelve feet tall with giant hoses
- 40:20Speaker 2: for blowing mulch and stuff. But but but you could
- 40:22Speaker 2: do that and can send me right now. Par Florida
- 40:24Speaker 2: statute law enforcement vehicles are exempt, are there, really? Yeah,
- 40:29Speaker 2: I work trucks that don't mind. I think the semi
- 40:31Speaker 2: that's next level. I think that's one where it's like, ah,
- 40:36Speaker 2: come on, yeah, it says. The ordinance also continues to
- 40:38Speaker 2: allow many take home work vehicles, such as vans used
- 40:41Speaker 2: by plumbers and electricians. So, like you were saying, Ross,
- 40:43Speaker 2: if it doesn't get too big, they're not going to
- 40:45Speaker 2: mess with you. I think what they're really looking for
- 40:47Speaker 2: is that heavy equipment kind of thing, like if you
- 40:49Speaker 2: have a tractor trailer and you are a tractor and
- 40:52Speaker 2: that's how you make your living, whether it be with
- 40:54Speaker 2: a private hauler or or a or a hauler or
- 40:57Speaker 2: you're hauling private Uh. I don't know that anybody wants
- 41:01Speaker 2: a semi tractor trailer parked in somebody's front yard in
- 41:04Speaker 2: your neighborhood. Yeah, I don't like that, and I think
- 41:06Speaker 2: everybody was probably also pretty sympathetic to the person's problem.
- 41:09Speaker 2: But you know, having to rent a place to keep
- 41:12Speaker 2: that at a couple hundred bucks a month, It's just
- 41:14Speaker 2: my biggest fear is accidentally regulating a small business like
- 41:19Speaker 2: even like that would be my biggest fear. But big
- 41:22Speaker 2: semi trucks get Optimist Prime off this could decent. They
- 41:27Speaker 2: had this before. They tabled it in April to allow
- 41:30Speaker 2: more time to research the appropriate weight maximum. They came
- 41:33Speaker 2: to that ten thousand pound figure. They'll also do some
- 41:36Speaker 2: more stuff when it comes to how big the vehicle
- 41:38Speaker 2: can be, how long it can be, and things of
- 41:40Speaker 2: that nature. But can I tell you something, guys, I
- 41:42Speaker 2: don't believe. I don't believe this really stops with just
- 41:45Speaker 2: commercial vehicles. I mean, people who have giant boats or
- 41:48Speaker 2: RVs aren't parked in your yard. To me, that's just
- 41:52Speaker 2: as unsightly as any Like. If you have your mills van,
- 41:56Speaker 2: it's in your yard, I got no problem with that.
- 41:58Speaker 2: They look great, they're wrapped well, the people take good
- 42:01Speaker 2: care of him, no problem whatsoever. If you have your
- 42:03Speaker 2: old ass RV backed up in your driveway and it
- 42:06Speaker 2: plugged into your house, no problem. I got no. I
- 42:10Speaker 2: got no. I don't want any of that. Yeah, it's
- 42:11Speaker 2: the boats you hate. Remember the widow who just lost
- 42:14Speaker 2: her husband and you took her to court about removing
- 42:17Speaker 2: his dream project of that boat from her yard. I
- 42:19Speaker 2: didn't take her court. I didn't take her to court.
- 42:22Speaker 2: I call her hard. I called the county to find
- 42:24Speaker 2: out what the what the the county thought about that?
- 42:27Speaker 2: You called the county on her. I didn't call the
- 42:29Speaker 2: county on her. I called the county to ask a question.
- 42:31Speaker 2: Then what happened? They showed up. The county showed up.
- 42:35Speaker 2: If you had hair, it would be a bob cut.
- 42:38Speaker 2: What about ice cream truck? If you food trucks, food truck, Yeah,
- 42:44Speaker 2: I don't want it. I have a friend who has
- 42:46Speaker 2: the food truck. He got called on, And that's kind
- 42:48Speaker 2: of the reason why I'm like, I would let all
- 42:51Speaker 2: for me. I'm letting all food trucks rip and roar
- 42:54Speaker 2: if you really. Yeah, it's a small local business and
- 42:57Speaker 2: I would not want to step on the way of
- 42:59Speaker 2: that and the bag. I know that sounds poorly, but
- 43:03Speaker 2: that's so hard, buddy, I mean, I mean the food
- 43:05Speaker 2: truck's can be also giant. Yeah. And again they're also painted,
- 43:09Speaker 2: usually to bring attention to them. So that means it's
- 43:12Speaker 2: not like, hey, here's a food truck that's painted like
- 43:14Speaker 2: a regular truck. No, this is a food truck with
- 43:16Speaker 2: like panda bears or you know whatever. To bring attention
- 43:19Speaker 2: to that food truck, they're gonna paint it all pink
- 43:21Speaker 2: with flowers and stuff, and that's gonna be your view,
- 43:23Speaker 2: that's your vista, well from your front pork. I want
- 43:25Speaker 2: to say that there's been some level of regulation even
- 43:28Speaker 2: with food trucks that you have to cover it. At
- 43:30Speaker 2: the very lest, really like to fix that problem so
- 43:33Speaker 2: you don't have to come home and see paandas. But
- 43:35Speaker 2: all right, four seven nine one textus seven seven zero
- 43:38Speaker 2: three one your four o'clock. Heyword is dollar d L
- 43:40Speaker 2: L A R slide number two real radio out of
- 43:43Speaker 2: him and send that away for your chance of a
- 43:44Speaker 2: thousand bucks back in one second. Hello, COVID crew. I
- 43:48Speaker 2: touched one of those furry cat of pillars once.
- 43:52Speaker 4: Dang.
- 43:54Speaker 2: You want to talk about burn Yeah, man, it goes
- 43:58Speaker 2: burned to a core crazy. You don't ever do it, Jimmy.
- 44:04Speaker 13: You do know somebody that flushes and is proud of
- 44:06Speaker 13: flushing and using the butt wipes? Uh Rawlins Rowins. Does
- 44:11Speaker 13: he probably a week ago or so? Does he really
- 44:14Speaker 13: say he got these new butt wipes.
- 44:16Speaker 2: And uh and he flushes them. Yeah. I wasn't gonna
- 44:21Speaker 2: out of them, but I let them listening to it.
- 44:22Speaker 2: I didn't know that.
- 44:24Speaker 5: So from time to time, jim I've heard you guys,
- 44:26Speaker 5: talk about the hot dogs at uh Costco for a
- 44:29Speaker 5: buck fifty. Oh yeah, today I was in there around
- 44:31Speaker 5: lunch time and I decided to try it. I gotta
- 44:33Speaker 5: tell you, they're hot dogs. All be hot dogs for
- 44:36Speaker 5: a buck fifty or absolutely all.
- 44:38Speaker 2: Can't beat it.
- 44:39Speaker 5: And then you get to wash it down with an
- 44:41Speaker 5: ice cold and soa man, I'll tell you what, that's
- 44:45Speaker 5: a good time, right there, you son of a bitch.
- 44:47Speaker 2: How dare you?
- 44:48Speaker 10: I know what you just did?
- 44:50Speaker 2: Bring me one of those dogs on damn coke? Ah god,
- 44:53Speaker 2: I eat ten of them right now, So I am
- 44:55Speaker 2: out of my mind right now, draw a hole in
- 44:57Speaker 2: the hot dog and use it as a straw. Hungry.
- 45:00Speaker 2: I'm down six pounds, but I am absolutely losing my mind.
- 45:03Speaker 2: We had food here today, Yeah, no, I got a
- 45:05Speaker 2: tiny bit of chicken and a tiny bit of rice
- 45:07Speaker 2: and a tiny bit of black means and a damn
- 45:10Speaker 2: coke zero pepsy zero. All right? Can I come in
- 45:14Speaker 2: a real Not all right? It is not all right? Yeah,
- 45:17Speaker 2: you can come in hot what anything to stop him
- 45:19Speaker 2: talking to me?
- 45:19Speaker 12: Well?
- 45:20Speaker 7: Oh my god?
- 45:22Speaker 2: Well all right, I think I'm gonna I think I'm
- 45:25Speaker 2: gonna make it worse. I think you can kind of
- 45:27Speaker 2: miss me with that. I'm downs. Would you say six pounds? Yeah? Down,
- 45:32Speaker 2: six pounds. So I don't know, man, what do you
- 45:35Speaker 2: mean two twenty eight When I started this, when I
- 45:37Speaker 2: started cutting the sugar out, I weigh two twenty two
- 45:39Speaker 2: right now exactly. I mean getting naked whammy. No, no,
- 45:43Speaker 2: I what I The argument that I will make is
- 45:45Speaker 2: that I think six pounds is like, I mean, are
- 45:48Speaker 2: you you could be dehydrated? No, dude, I haven't been
- 45:51Speaker 2: consuming because, like you have to understand, I'm drinking like
- 45:54Speaker 2: twenty ounces of pepsi sometimes twice a day. That's five
- 45:57Speaker 2: hundred calories extra day on top of everything else I'm
- 46:00Speaker 2: eating and stuff and beer and whatnot. So I've cut
- 46:03Speaker 2: like a lot of that out I'm having, Like I
- 46:05Speaker 2: had one, I've had one beer this week. I've had
- 46:07Speaker 2: nothing but coke zero or pepsi zero or water. And
- 46:10Speaker 2: it is driving me crazy. By the way, my body
- 46:13Speaker 2: kind of knows when I'm trying to fool it with
- 46:15Speaker 2: coke zero, because although you get the fizz and although
- 46:18Speaker 2: it's pretty similar, still doesn't have the effect that the
- 46:20Speaker 2: sugar has on you when you get it in your body. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 46:24Speaker 2: I don't know. I just think that like five six pounds,
- 46:28Speaker 2: Like if you weigh yourself at night versus weigh yourself
- 46:30Speaker 2: in the morning. I weigh myself like three times or
- 46:32Speaker 2: four times a day. Buddy. They say the first thing
- 46:34Speaker 2: in the morning is when you should weigh yourself and
- 46:36Speaker 2: stick to that for your true way. That's exactly. I
- 46:38Speaker 2: weigh myself right before I get in the shower, completely naked,
- 46:42Speaker 2: weig mylf weigh myself when I get in the shower.
- 46:43Speaker 2: Paint that. Would you like to send me a picture? Yeah? No,
- 46:46Speaker 2: I'm I just no, I'm not trying to. Now it
- 46:50Speaker 2: seems like I'm going out of my way to be
- 46:52Speaker 2: a jerk. It's like you're calling me a liar. I
- 46:54Speaker 2: would I lie about it? I'm calling it. I'm still fat.
- 46:57Speaker 2: If I told you that I'm tuning. If I said, hey, go,
- 47:00Speaker 2: I started out of two twenty eight now I'm two
- 47:01Speaker 2: o five, I mean, obviously that's a lie, But I
- 47:03Speaker 2: mean six pounds when you're like this, that early poundage
- 47:06Speaker 2: by the way, that goes fast, that's that water weight
- 47:09Speaker 2: you're cutting off the fat that goes fast. What happens
- 47:11Speaker 2: is is like I will tell you what's gonna happen.
- 47:13Speaker 2: I'm gonna get down to two fifteen, and it's gonna
- 47:15Speaker 2: happen pretty quick. I'll probably hit that like next weekend,
- 47:17Speaker 2: maybe a little bit after that, and then a wall
- 47:21Speaker 2: will get built between myself and anything lower than two fifteen.
- 47:25Speaker 2: I know what, I've done this one hundred times. I
- 47:28Speaker 2: just I guess the argument that I'm trying to make
- 47:30Speaker 2: is that I'm pretty sure that like the body, body
- 47:33Speaker 2: weight just fluxhed weights in general. You're saying you're one
- 47:35Speaker 2: BM away from losing six fat, yeah, and one meal
- 47:39Speaker 2: away from putting it back on, one hot yoga away
- 47:42Speaker 2: from just breaking a new pr. I think maybe you
- 47:45Speaker 2: don't understand. Here's the thing. I'll tell you what's the difference. Right,
- 47:48Speaker 2: So the difference is you don't know my eating habits. Right,
- 47:53Speaker 2: that's the difference. You don't know my eating habits. It's
- 47:58Speaker 2: easy for you as a dude who eats a couple
- 48:00Speaker 2: times a day, and that's perfectly fine because you're weigh
- 48:02Speaker 2: one hundred and sixty five pounds. You know, no on
- 48:04Speaker 2: on yard. That's fine for you because you don't experience
- 48:07Speaker 2: with that experience. I do not eat like that. You eat.
- 48:11Speaker 2: How do you eat anything that gets in front of
- 48:12Speaker 2: me that I'm hungry for? And so I don't care.
- 48:15Speaker 2: I will eat. Can I tell you something, dude, I'll
- 48:16Speaker 2: take you straight up. I will make a steak at
- 48:17Speaker 2: ten thirty at night. I have no problem doing that.
- 48:20Speaker 2: And because I can cook. That's the worst part of it,
- 48:23Speaker 2: because I can go home and I can go, oh wow,
- 48:25Speaker 2: I wish I had that. Then you go to yourself, well, dumbass,
- 48:29Speaker 2: you can make it and you have the stuff. So
- 48:31Speaker 2: now it's just a fight between my uh, myself and
- 48:35Speaker 2: my will power. And I gotta tell you, dude, will
- 48:38Speaker 2: power is having a great season. Yeah, yeah, you're having
- 48:41Speaker 2: a good hitting average. If you were an All star
- 48:44Speaker 2: baseball player, you know, like a third of the time
- 48:47Speaker 2: you're playing it playing it safe. But then again, you
- 48:49Speaker 2: eat whenever the fish jumps out of the water. I look,
- 48:55Speaker 2: I don't have that. Like when I see something good
- 48:57Speaker 2: to eat, I just want to eat it, Like I
- 48:59Speaker 2: have that thing, right, just love eating. It's like one
- 49:01Speaker 2: of my favorite things in the world to do. And
- 49:02Speaker 2: I think one of the reasons why this is so
- 49:04Speaker 2: difficult is that very thing, Like I used to have
- 49:07Speaker 2: a conversation like if you never smoked weed, you would
- 49:10Speaker 2: never know what it's like to smoke weed. So therefore
- 49:13Speaker 2: you would not have that thing that says, oh man,
- 49:16Speaker 2: when i'm high, i'm more comfortable, I sleep better, I'm
- 49:19Speaker 2: more chilly. You know, you wouldn't know that because you
- 49:22Speaker 2: never had it, so you could just look at it
- 49:24Speaker 2: and go, well, I don't know. That's the same kind
- 49:27Speaker 2: of thing, like you don't understand how I look. I'm not. Well,
- 49:30Speaker 2: that's I'm not an outlier here. There's a lot of
- 49:32Speaker 2: people have the same problem. Well, and that example, I
- 49:35Speaker 2: didn't sound like eating habits, but more a relationship with
- 49:39Speaker 2: eating if you put it through that formula, like when
- 49:42Speaker 2: I feel I want something to eat and I'm craving it,
- 49:45Speaker 2: I will go and I will go and get that. Now,
- 49:48Speaker 2: I gotta tell you, here's here's why I'm a good boy.
- 49:50Speaker 2: All right, here's where I'm a good boy where it
- 49:52Speaker 2: should be a good boy. My wife and I were
- 49:56Speaker 2: laying on the couch on it what's today Tuesday, yees,
- 49:58Speaker 2: Sunday Sunday afternoon. We were in on the couch right
- 50:01Speaker 2: and uh, watching TV, hanging out. Her mom's in town
- 50:04Speaker 2: and She looks at me and she goes, this is
- 50:06Speaker 2: like seven o'clock in the evening. She looks at me
- 50:08Speaker 2: and she goes, do you want to go to dairy Queen?
- 50:11Speaker 2: And I looked at her and I said, like, nothing
- 50:13Speaker 2: I've ever wanted to do before. I've never wanted to
- 50:17Speaker 2: go to dairy Queen. More, I said, but I'm not
- 50:19Speaker 2: going to dairy Queen. Dairy Queen's close to the house,
- 50:22Speaker 2: a couple of miles away, and I can already taste
- 50:25Speaker 2: the parf of the peanut. But I could taste it.
- 50:30Speaker 2: I could taste the crunchy, salty, savory peanuts against the
- 50:34Speaker 2: creamy cold ice cream. And their soft served vanilla is
- 50:38Speaker 2: so good, and the warm chocolate coating over there, I
- 50:40Speaker 2: could taste it. I could taste it right now. Your
- 50:42Speaker 2: toes are curly, yeah. And I looked at her, and
- 50:45Speaker 2: I looked at her and I said, I'm not going
- 50:46Speaker 2: to dairy Queen. And you're not either. You're not bringing
- 50:50Speaker 2: dairy Queen in this house. Oh I'm sitting here. You're
- 50:53Speaker 2: not about to eat a dairy queen in front of me.
- 50:55Speaker 2: No one believes you said that to your mother in law.
- 50:57Speaker 2: I did not say that, but I said I can't.
- 51:00Speaker 2: She goes, I know, and then you know, we just
- 51:03Speaker 2: sat there just looked at each other. You sat there
- 51:06Speaker 2: and looked at j others. She wanted as bad as me,
- 51:08Speaker 2: but she didn't want to eat it in front of me.
- 51:09Speaker 2: And by the way, that big ass Cadbury bar that
- 51:11Speaker 2: that Daryl brought in. Because how many cubes have I
- 51:14Speaker 2: I've had that one, one little cube, one one that's it.
- 51:21Speaker 2: That that is the best chocolate on the planet Earth.
- 51:23Speaker 2: And I love chocolate. I've had one tiny little cube
- 51:27Speaker 2: of it that's like a half inch square, half inch square. Yeah,
- 51:30Speaker 2: that's that good chocolate that makes you kind of go
- 51:32Speaker 2: like cross. It's the good chocolate, you know what I'm
- 51:34Speaker 2: talking about, the chocolate that makes it go.
- 51:36Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 51:36Speaker 2: I don't want to keep doing it because radio the
- 51:38Speaker 2: butterfat content so high that just breaking it off your
- 51:43Speaker 2: body body temperature already starts melting it. That's how good
- 51:46Speaker 2: it is. I had four cubes last night. I just
- 51:49Speaker 2: opened it last night. Oh so good. Guess what. I
- 51:51Speaker 2: don't even understand the calories because it's it's you know,
- 51:56Speaker 2: it's from Britain, right, so it's written in English. I
- 51:59Speaker 2: don't understand English. It's a lot, dude. It's just like
- 52:01Speaker 2: chocolate here. It's not that much difference. She's got more butter,
- 52:03Speaker 2: it's got more fat. Full circle because of weed. I
- 52:07Speaker 2: just remembered you guys reminded me. I have a big
- 52:10Speaker 2: ass piece of chocolate waiting for me when I get home.
- 52:13Speaker 2: Four oh seven nine one texts seven seven zero three one.
- 52:17Speaker 2: Got another keyword for you at the top of the hour.
- 52:19Speaker 2: We'll do that next. Real Radio one four point one.
- 52:23Speaker 8: Good afternoon, j Colberg Show on the Cassimi story. If
- 52:29Speaker 8: you're not in HOA, they can do whatever they want.
- 52:32Speaker 8: It's your property at your land. This is America. I thought, Jim,
- 52:35Speaker 8: you were a Republican. Loved America. I'm just kidding, but
- 52:37Speaker 8: seriously moved to an HOA. If you want more regulations,
- 52:40Speaker 8: that's my thoughts.
- 52:41Speaker 14: Have a good one.
- 52:43Speaker 2: So I had to deal with this in Castlebury. They
- 52:45Speaker 2: didn't like the fact that the side of my company,
- 52:48Speaker 2: which the HOA would never use, it was a weird
- 52:51Speaker 2: one where it was partially condos and partially rented.
- 52:57Speaker 7: Out the apartments.
- 52:59Speaker 2: Yeah, they did like it.
- 53:00Speaker 7: So I had to cover and uncover that thing every
- 53:02Speaker 7: single day.
- 53:03Speaker 2: Because of the four f one fifty that I had at.
- 53:05Speaker 7: The time was not magnetic and I could not slap magnet.
- 53:07Speaker 2: It's over, So that was fun.
- 53:11Speaker 15: It don't matter what's in someone's driveway. Man, Come on,
- 53:15Speaker 15: we're talking about blue collar America. Clifford west Boum. I
- 53:20Speaker 15: understand you know an eighteen will or tractor of the
- 53:22Speaker 15: pulls that.
- 53:23Speaker 7: I get it.
- 53:24Speaker 15: At the end of the day, it doesn't just provide
- 53:25Speaker 15: for their family, it provides for yours too. You're taking
- 53:29Speaker 15: away a fundamental idea of.
- 53:30Speaker 7: America all because I don't want to see it.
- 53:33Speaker 15: This stuff drinds my gears. Man, turn the other head
- 53:36Speaker 15: because I'm I'm busy making money for not just me America.
- 53:42Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm catching some crazy strees on this topic on
- 53:45Speaker 2: the Texan Service as well. Like I'm just telling you
- 53:48Speaker 2: my opinions of this, Like if you want your look,
- 53:51Speaker 2: here's another thing that's America. Your property value going up,
- 53:54Speaker 2: you buying a house, investing hundreds of thousand dollars of
- 53:56Speaker 2: your money, and then not watching that drop because the
- 53:59Speaker 2: guy parked his oil fry truck in his front yard
- 54:03Speaker 2: next to your house. And I understand everything you're saying
- 54:06Speaker 2: but there are gives and goes everywhere. It's not all
- 54:09Speaker 2: just Hey, this is America. I get that one hundred percent,
- 54:12Speaker 2: and yes, you can do whatever you want. But if
- 54:14Speaker 2: you park your tractor trailer in the front yard of
- 54:17Speaker 2: a neighborhood and somebody just you know, you can't expect
- 54:20Speaker 2: that to be cool. Matter of fact, you a guy
- 54:22Speaker 2: checked in earlier, by the way, and he said he goes,
- 54:25Speaker 2: I own a tree service. I parked my trucks in
- 54:26Speaker 2: my backyard. Bucket truck is twelve feet tall and ugly
- 54:31Speaker 2: as hell. Wonder if my neighbors care. May if they've
- 54:35Speaker 2: never said anything so maybe they don't. But I mean,
- 54:37Speaker 2: I gotta tell you, I did not buy Before we
- 54:39Speaker 2: bought the house we're in right now, I did not
- 54:42Speaker 2: buy a house. This is a true story. You could
- 54:44Speaker 2: call my wife right now. What was the reason we
- 54:47Speaker 2: were in Sorrento over by Deer Island Golf Club out
- 54:51Speaker 2: into varies in that area there, right, Okay, we're looking
- 54:55Speaker 2: at a house. The house had every single thing we wanted.
- 54:59Speaker 2: The price was right, property was right, and everything like that.
- 55:01Speaker 2: The neighbor behind us these are like acre and a
- 55:03Speaker 2: half lots or whatever. The neighbor behind us owned a
- 55:06Speaker 2: construction company. He had his excavator out there, he had
- 55:10Speaker 2: his bucket truck out there, he had his front end
- 55:12Speaker 2: loader out there, and two dump trucks. I said, I'm
- 55:14Speaker 2: not ever doing that. I'm not ever living next to
- 55:18Speaker 2: or behind a guy that's running a construction company out
- 55:20Speaker 2: of his property. And it has nothing to do with
- 55:22Speaker 2: me being bougie or anti American. I just simply have
- 55:25Speaker 2: the choice, and I chose not to live there because
- 55:27Speaker 2: of that, right, Yeah, And that's what I'm talking about.
- 55:29Speaker 2: It cost that guy. Now the guy wounds up selling
- 55:31Speaker 2: the house. But I didn't buy it from him, sure,
- 55:33Speaker 2: but I mean, but somebody did. But then when that
- 55:37Speaker 2: guy moves So if you have a house and you're
- 55:39Speaker 2: pretty satisfied with your house and your property, and then
- 55:43Speaker 2: that construction guy moves in and he uses his backyard,
- 55:46Speaker 2: yeah for you know, all of his equipment, you have
- 55:49Speaker 2: to deal with that. You have to deal with that,
- 55:51Speaker 2: right And by the way, now my house, just like
- 55:53Speaker 2: this guy dealt with, becomes less sellable because with clients
- 55:57Speaker 2: who can afford homes like that or want to live
- 55:59Speaker 2: in that neighbor hood don't want to live there. Because
- 56:02Speaker 2: this guy's house has all the construction equipment in it.
- 56:04Speaker 2: But I mean, am I foolish and thinking that? Like, yes,
- 56:09Speaker 2: some people might say no to that. Yeah, but when
- 56:11Speaker 2: they get the house, what is it? What is it called?
- 56:14Speaker 2: When they some official guy shows up and goes, it's
- 56:17Speaker 2: worth this much. Oh, the appraiser, the appraiser. Right, the
- 56:20Speaker 2: appraiser isn't keeping an account of your neighbor in a
- 56:25Speaker 2: construction right, You're right, because the appraiser is just appraising
- 56:28Speaker 2: what the value of the home on that property is worth,
- 56:31Speaker 2: and the property and everything like that. But the fact
- 56:33Speaker 2: is that doesn't change the sellibility of the home. Factor
- 56:38Speaker 2: could come into a million dollars and you could go
- 56:40Speaker 2: up to your a million dollar home you go, wow,
- 56:42Speaker 2: this is a beautiful home. But next door, this guy
- 56:44Speaker 2: has a jumpy jump set up in his front yard
- 56:46Speaker 2: every day. So if no one buys it, then no
- 56:48Speaker 2: one buys it. I get that, But it's like, and
- 56:50Speaker 2: then nobody buys it, then your property value goes down
- 56:52Speaker 2: because now nobody wants to buy your property and live
- 56:55Speaker 2: next door to that property. But the property value isn't
- 56:58Speaker 2: that from the appraiser? Yeah, well it's where it is
- 57:03Speaker 2: what the market will bear, what you're able to realistically
- 57:06Speaker 2: sell that property as what what someone's willing to pay.
- 57:09Speaker 2: That's the true value somebody takes in, says Jimmy hates
- 57:14Speaker 2: freedom and blue collar workers. Everybody in my family, everybody
- 57:19Speaker 2: in my family is a blue collar worker. Well, I mean,
- 57:22Speaker 2: I've looked in blue collar neighborhoods my entire life up
- 57:25Speaker 2: until like ten years ago. But that's why one of
- 57:29Speaker 2: my one of my friends opened up a food truck,
- 57:31Speaker 2: and that's kind of why I feel like food trucks. Dude,
- 57:33Speaker 2: hit it up in the streets, put it in a driveway,
- 57:36Speaker 2: let it ride. Because he was telling me of just
- 57:38Speaker 2: like it the red tape that it takes to get
- 57:41Speaker 2: a business off right already from just local and federal government.
- 57:46Speaker 2: And then if you throw in the neighbor like, oh
- 57:49Speaker 2: you guys too, you're I'm one of you guys. Yeah yeah,
- 57:52Speaker 2: And then that was his whole take of like not
- 57:54Speaker 2: from you guys as well? Yeah. Really, the texting service,
- 57:57Speaker 2: I don't know if they misunderstood I was talking about
- 57:59Speaker 2: like I have again, I said a thousand times, I
- 58:02Speaker 2: would have no problem if the person next door to
- 58:03Speaker 2: me had their Mills h back truck in the driveway
- 58:06Speaker 2: because it's a regular van. It just as it's labeled
- 58:08Speaker 2: with Mills stuff. If you're electrical truck, where do you
- 58:11Speaker 2: draw the line. Yeah, tractor trailers like giant construction equipment,
- 58:15Speaker 2: stuff like that, stuff that is unsightly, that doesn't belong
- 58:18Speaker 2: in a residential neighborhood. That's kind of what I'm talking about.
- 58:20Speaker 2: And by the way, I am also extremely empathetic when
- 58:24Speaker 2: it comes to somebody who has one of these tractor
- 58:26Speaker 2: trailers and it's and they're private haulers. Already a tough gig. Well,
- 58:30Speaker 2: what was already a tough gig? He text earlier, I
- 58:33Speaker 2: was saying it was like two hundred, three hundred dollars
- 58:35Speaker 2: to find a place of park this thing. They're telling
- 58:37Speaker 2: me it's more like five to eight hundred dollars a
- 58:39Speaker 2: month to find somewhere to park something like that. That's
- 58:41Speaker 2: a bit of coin. That's a lot. Yeah, And what
- 58:45Speaker 2: was it you had against boats? And that widow who
- 58:48Speaker 2: the woman who just lost her husband, didn't have anything
- 58:50Speaker 2: about I didn't know she lost her husband. And I
- 58:53Speaker 2: had no issue about the boat. The boat, well, I
- 58:55Speaker 2: had no issue about boats. That boat stuck over the
- 58:57Speaker 2: fence and was I mean it had made up tarp
- 59:00Speaker 2: system like it looked like something that Edward Scissorhans built,
- 59:04Speaker 2: like in his backyard with a bunch of rotting tarps,
- 59:07Speaker 2: and it was my vista of my entire backyard. You
- 59:09Speaker 2: couldn't miss it. It was like a blue mountain of
- 59:12Speaker 2: ripped up, nasty, weather ridden tarps. Why didn't you just
- 59:15Speaker 2: plant some bamboo. I did plant some bamboo after the fact,
- 59:19Speaker 2: and you still call the county. But you said to yourself,
- 59:23Speaker 2: is like if it's unsightly, well, I mean that's why
- 59:26Speaker 2: Hoa's exists and why you know, yeah, the whole unsightly
- 59:30Speaker 2: those super subjective. For me, I think I'm going anything
- 59:34Speaker 2: but full blown. Even then, dude, I just don't care enough.
- 59:39Speaker 2: I think in day to day life, I'm still worried
- 59:40Speaker 2: about just trying to figure out breakfast. Like the food
- 59:43Speaker 2: truck thing, I think is a really interesting argument. I
- 59:46Speaker 2: really do believe that. But there's a little more common
- 59:48Speaker 2: and that's right on the borderline. Yeah, Like, I mean,
- 59:50Speaker 2: I'll tell you another one, like snap on tools right
- 59:53Speaker 2: for people that they are like you see these snap
- 59:55Speaker 2: on tool trucks go through and they're like these these
- 59:57Speaker 2: big cock they're like big bread trucks almost right, like
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: these big old bread trucks. And you go in there
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: and they go to and they would park because that's
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: a that's an independent business. They actually, from what I understand,
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: they don't work for snap On. They've bought that business,
- 1:00:11Speaker 2: and they're like they're like a it's almost like a
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: like a tupperware thing. You're a separate business. You get
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: your stuff from them and you go around and you
- 1:00:18Speaker 2: sell them. That would also be one of those things like,
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: well it's a really nice truck. Snap On is a
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: very easy logo, and even though it's a bigger truck,
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: that's a little bit more of an argument you can
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: make where it's not really hurting anybody. It's not really
- 1:00:30Speaker 2: bringing down any property values or anything like that. But
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: if you have a tractor trailer, you have a big
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: piece of a good trucktion equipment, front and loader. A
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: food truck is right on the edge because does that
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: I think I got a big trailer down the street,
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: like right up right up the street. Because a food
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: truck you get the exhaust fan on top. You know,
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: there's equipment on top, so that it can be pretty high.
- 1:00:53Speaker 2: There's gonna be a funny logo. Yeah, yeah, it's gotta
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: be because it's designed to make you look. And and
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: by the way, yeah, if they have a fryar, if
- 1:01:02Speaker 2: they have a fryer on it, yeah, you know it
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: has that big thing.
- 1:01:05Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: And they are designed to make you look. They're designed
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: to get attention. There's just this awesome photo of like
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: a fish kick flipping and fish sticks. People are saying,
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: I'm losing my pull act and my winter Park is
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: showing I don't live in winter Park. I live in Eustace.
- 1:01:20Speaker 2: Another texta says, you didn't buy that house because you're
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: en up at eb Look, I just know what I want.
- 1:01:27Speaker 2: I had options, and I knew what I wanted. And look,
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: I gotta tell you, if I think a lot of
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: people who are calling in and mitching about stuff like
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: this and calling in a defendant again, I would defend
- 1:01:36Speaker 2: one ninety five percent of this I would defend. I
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: would be like, yeah, no problem, Yeah, park your AC truck,
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: park your electrical company truck. You'll park all that, you know,
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: park it right in the front yard. That's great, you know,
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: I have no problem with that. But the minute you
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: bring like a big ass food truck or a tractor
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: trailer in, I would probably have a little problem with it.
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: Texas says they live in the city of Orlando.
- 1:01:56Speaker 12: No h o A.
- 1:01:57Speaker 2: But Orlando coat officer says, no commercial vehicles in the
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: residential area and they got fined for a trailer. Yeah,
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: somebody actually just said that. In the state of Florida, Uh,
- 1:02:07Speaker 2: they banned the idea of hoa's coming after people with
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: that are using their company vehicle as their vehicle because
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: their employers allow it. So hoa's can't do it, but
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: the cities can. Well, I guess so, yeah, maybe so.
- 1:02:19Speaker 2: And by the way, you know I lived in when
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: I lived over here in Castlebury for a while, then
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: I lived over in uh like uh Fern Park area. Yeah,
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: when you were slumming it y. Yeah, the spe all
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: the Spectrum guys, they they brought their trucks home all
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: the time. Yeah, the cable guys drove their cars around
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: all the time. Little foreign rangers or a little van,
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: no problem. I mean again, that's just their transportation. And
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: by the way, would never take that away from anybody
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: to be able to have that as transportation. That's provided
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: to them by their company. So your team wraps but
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: food trucks. It's got like a giant shrimp on top.
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: I'm designed to make you there's not like a that
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: rule for what I would like or not like. But
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: I mean I think that anybody who has a you
- 1:03:04Speaker 2: spend good money on your property, and then a guy
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: who moves in next to you, you know, has a
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: junk house. I mean, where do you draw the line.
- 1:03:10Speaker 2: That's a good point. Where do you draw the line? Well,
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: hop out, what do you think real quick before you
- 1:03:15Speaker 2: get it? Do you think like somebody parking a tractor
- 1:03:17Speaker 2: trailer in their front yard and then other equipment. Maybe
- 1:03:20Speaker 2: if you're a landscaper out there and you park your
- 1:03:22Speaker 2: landscape but equipment in your front yard, do you think
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: that's as bad as a like as a junk a
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: junk collector like this guy in Altamont who had old
- 1:03:31Speaker 2: toilets in his yard old Allen Davis. Yes, I mean
- 1:03:35Speaker 2: is that the same. But here's the thing. Then where's
- 1:03:37Speaker 2: the argument? So it be what? So what you're saying
- 1:03:40Speaker 2: is is like I'm getting called out for like oh,
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: you're you're up at the because in the trucks, But like,
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: are you cool with people coming in and moving in
- 1:03:47Speaker 2: next to you and then putting old tubs and old
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: toilets and stuff in their front yard? Game? I mean,
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: what's the big deal? I drive by a lot of
- 1:03:55Speaker 2: homes or even on my bike ride, I go buy
- 1:03:57Speaker 2: a lot of homes where it's a car port that
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: it's like it's an enclosed garage without the walls, so
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: you got to see everything that their story right in
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: that car port. Yeah, is it slightly?
- 1:04:09Speaker 16: No?
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: Do I complain about it?
- 1:04:11Speaker 6: No?
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: And there it is right there. Because it's kind of
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: a two part question. What the first question is, are
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: you okay with laws, you know, being passed to prevent
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: a toilet being you know, in the middle of a driveway?
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: Or did you ever see that guy's yard by the
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: way that you don't want to talking about?
- 1:04:27Speaker 17: I did not.
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: Yeah, it was famous Alan David about twenty years ago. Man.
- 1:04:31Speaker 2: But and I feel like I got one of those
- 1:04:33Speaker 2: homes in my neighborhood right now, and it's not great.
- 1:04:36Speaker 2: But for me, it's not enough for me to confront
- 1:04:40Speaker 2: to make a phone call and go out of my
- 1:04:42Speaker 2: way to try to stop that he makes the call.
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: Can I show a quick question. Yeah, can you see
- 1:04:48Speaker 2: it from your house? I cannot. You cannot see it
- 1:04:50Speaker 2: from your house. It's around the corner. Yeah, can be
- 1:04:53Speaker 2: different if you could see it. I mean, do you
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: think imagine it was your neighbor right next door, right,
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: and do you think it'd be differ if you could
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: see it? And then let's say you wanted to because
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: you and Olivia are gonna eventually move on from that
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: house maybe, and you're gonna try to sell that house.
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: And then when people come to your house like love
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: your house, there's no way I'm living next door to that,
- 1:05:11Speaker 2: And then I would love to buy your house, but
- 1:05:13Speaker 2: I'm not paying that money because I'm not living next
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: door to that. Then what do you go ask him?
- 1:05:17Speaker 2: Then do you talk to him?
- 1:05:17Speaker 9: Then?
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: I mean, it's just kind of like it's old news
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: of going like, yeah, a whole lot of life isn't fair,
- 1:05:23Speaker 2: Like that is a whole bunch of drawl of the car.
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: But shouldn't you make that same argument for the argument
- 1:05:29Speaker 2: that you don't want that next to you, that life
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: isn't fair. Don't you be to the guy who has
- 1:05:33Speaker 2: all this stuff in his front yard? Couldn't you say, well,
- 1:05:35Speaker 2: he could probably say, well, that's not fair. This is
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: my America. I could do what I want. I pay
- 1:05:39Speaker 2: this property. It's my property. If I want to put
- 1:05:42Speaker 2: old toilet after old toilet after old toilet, broken down
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: washing machines and dryers and old fridges in my front yard,
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: it's America. I paid for it. I got a right
- 1:05:52Speaker 2: to do that. Yeah, I would love an argument. Right, Well,
- 1:05:55Speaker 2: I would look at that and go, he's right, and yes,
- 1:05:58Speaker 2: I'm not cool with this.
- 1:05:59Speaker 10: Yes.
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: So that's why I call it like a two part
- 1:06:01Speaker 2: question of like I would not pass laws to prevent
- 1:06:04Speaker 2: him from doing that. There's a I always drop off
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: my friend right and he lives right next to this,
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: like funky skunk truck. It's kind of grown a little infamous.
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: If you google funky skunk truck in Orlando, you'll see
- 1:06:19Speaker 2: this weird, like insane truck that is like paper machede
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: duct taped skunk mullet on top of the car and
- 1:06:28Speaker 2: it's you know, he's got neighbors. Oh my god, I
- 1:06:32Speaker 2: drive by it all the time, and every time I
- 1:06:34Speaker 2: see it, oh my god, almighty, I smile. And now
- 1:06:38Speaker 2: I can't hate the next person next to me, Like yourself,
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: who looks at that and goes, never in a million
- 1:06:44Speaker 2: years would I be living next to that. Well, I
- 1:06:47Speaker 2: mean I can't stop that. I mean, I mean I
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: don't I don't have you know what I'm saying. I
- 1:06:50Speaker 2: wouldn't want this park. Then the driveway next to me.
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: I just looked it up. It's it's ridiculous. Yeah, it's
- 1:06:54Speaker 2: absolutely Yeah, But I always see this thing in the neighborhood,
- 1:06:58Speaker 2: So I can't argue if if someone sees that and
- 1:07:00Speaker 2: gets pissed off, especially if you live there, you're right.
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: But I also know that for me, I wouldn't pass
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: any hardcore concrete law regulation bill to step on that.
- 1:07:12Speaker 2: Like I think the talkback kind of nailed it, like
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: that's why we have Hoa's right. Yeah, I mean, there's
- 1:07:16Speaker 2: no question. But this is a city ordinance. This is
- 1:07:19Speaker 2: a city trying to do it outside of an HOA.
- 1:07:21Speaker 2: So this isn't even in a data if you would
- 1:07:23Speaker 2: consider bougie or gated or anything like that. This is
- 1:07:25Speaker 2: just the city. And I think you know, and I
- 1:07:27Speaker 2: think their probably thought is we would like the property
- 1:07:30Speaker 2: value of our city to stay high. We would like
- 1:07:32Speaker 2: people to look at Cassimi and go, hey, you could
- 1:07:34Speaker 2: go to Simi and buy a home and you could
- 1:07:36Speaker 2: expect that home to increase in value because we're not
- 1:07:40Speaker 2: allowing people to set up like, you know, uh de
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: facto junk yards next to you, or you know, park
- 1:07:46Speaker 2: their tractor trailer next to you, and you know, again
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: empathetic to what they you know, the situation. But I mean,
- 1:07:53Speaker 2: I know, I don't live in the most pinky uh neighborhood,
- 1:07:57Speaker 2: and I kind of just go into and going like, yeah,
- 1:07:59Speaker 2: that's kind of the name of the game. Dude, that
- 1:08:01Speaker 2: there's one house, Dude, an enormous Noah's Arc amount of cats.
- 1:08:06Speaker 2: It's troubling. Oh yeah, I know a marut. Yeah yeah,
- 1:08:11Speaker 2: all right, four O seven nine one text us at
- 1:08:14Speaker 2: seven seven zero three one tons of reaction to this
- 1:08:18Speaker 2: on the texting service a lot. Do you think we
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: should like take a break and drink some whiskey? Yeah,
- 1:08:24Speaker 2: we should do that. Let's do that next.
- 1:08:40Speaker 18: A Jim Culvert show. It's Mason. I wanted to weigh
- 1:08:44Speaker 18: in on the ollipop thing. Totally agree. They're great. They're good,
- 1:08:50Speaker 18: flavors good. I think they're like fifty five calories a
- 1:08:53Speaker 18: piece low on sugar.
- 1:08:54Speaker 16: Help me replace my soda drinking, just saying, but I
- 1:08:58Speaker 16: just got back from a short deployment. Crack one of
- 1:09:02Speaker 16: those things open and yeah, I think you kind of
- 1:09:05Speaker 16: understand where it went.
- 1:09:07Speaker 18: Wasn't didn't end well for me.
- 1:09:09Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I'm.
- 1:09:11Speaker 7: Sorry if I did this two times, but lightning came
- 1:09:13Speaker 7: in real hard and everything got messed up. But I'm
- 1:09:17Speaker 7: thinking maybe if you got like a sparkling water, like
- 1:09:20Speaker 7: a topa Chico, and you would squeeze eleven or some
- 1:09:23Speaker 7: lime or grapefruit, maybe that could get you down the
- 1:09:27Speaker 7: road to that ice cream. Because I know at that
- 1:09:29Speaker 7: site and I have to have it ice cream like
- 1:09:33Speaker 7: every night. It just has to happen. So do that,
- 1:09:36Speaker 7: maybe it can.
- 1:09:37Speaker 12: Happen for you.
- 1:09:38Speaker 2: I heard this Tobocha think they're good as hell too.
- 1:09:40Speaker 2: I haven't had one yet. You're four o'clock. You are
- 1:09:43Speaker 2: you guys, get about a eight minutes or so to
- 1:09:45Speaker 2: get over there for dollar d O L L A R.
- 1:09:47Speaker 2: We'll have a fresh heat for you at the top
- 1:09:48Speaker 2: of the hour. Welcome back on Jim. There's Jack yep
- 1:09:52Speaker 2: Ross is here as well. It is true and it's
- 1:09:54Speaker 2: time for Whiskey of the Week Forward slash distillery and
- 1:09:57Speaker 2: blending house Freeze and we're st on the Jim Colbert Show.
- 1:10:05Speaker 2: Very nice. So we're doing this a little special today
- 1:10:07Speaker 2: because we're not gonna be in on Friday, so we
- 1:10:08Speaker 2: won't be able to do the bit on Friday, and
- 1:10:11Speaker 2: we want to make sure that we take care of
- 1:10:12Speaker 2: one of our favorite clients out there, Forward Slash Yeah,
- 1:10:15Speaker 2: drinkforward slash dot com as the website. You can also
- 1:10:18Speaker 2: find them on insta at that drink Forward slash and
- 1:10:21Speaker 2: we will review a new whiskey every single week. It
- 1:10:24Speaker 2: turns out that August is rye month, and I'm kind
- 1:10:27Speaker 2: of happy for this, Jack And I'll tell you why.
- 1:10:29Speaker 2: Why uh rass and I we're just talking a few
- 1:10:32Speaker 2: minutes ago, and we both kind of said that we
- 1:10:35Speaker 2: haven't really quite embraced rye whiskeys yet. Shoot us. Yeah,
- 1:10:39Speaker 2: they're a little like when you are used to drinking
- 1:10:43Speaker 2: like aged bourbon or scotches or whatever, and you start
- 1:10:45Speaker 2: drinking these ries. They're a little spicy there. They almost
- 1:10:49Speaker 2: come off a little raw sometimes. So I'm glad that
- 1:10:52Speaker 2: we have an entire month of this so I can
- 1:10:54Speaker 2: kind of explore some of those some of those different ries. Oh,
- 1:10:58Speaker 2: I did not know that whiskey is older than America.
- 1:11:03Speaker 2: It's America's it predates America's independence and America's first whiskey. Damn. Yeah,
- 1:11:09Speaker 2: but that yeah, this is there. The one that we're
- 1:11:11Speaker 2: trying today is their very first rye they've ever done.
- 1:11:15Speaker 2: And what is it called. It's called funder Thornhurst thorn
- 1:11:21Speaker 2: I got the bottle here, it's inside. You're rolling the
- 1:11:25Speaker 2: bottle Thornhurst Thornhurst. Yeah, this is their very first rye
- 1:11:31Speaker 2: blend they ever released. They really sit in the summer
- 1:11:33Speaker 2: of twenty twenty four. Fresh herbal fruity notes come from
- 1:11:37Speaker 2: the Journeyman Organic ryde. The body comes from the pot
- 1:11:40Speaker 2: still Pennsylvania rye from Dad's hat.
- 1:11:43Speaker 16: Uh.
- 1:11:43Speaker 2: And then there's also the coffee still in there. And
- 1:11:46Speaker 2: this is a blend of those whiskeys. And one of
- 1:11:49Speaker 2: my favorite things about everything from Forward Slash. If you're
- 1:11:54Speaker 2: like me, you love Orlando and you love supporting local,
- 1:11:57Speaker 2: and you love what is it exclusivity. There's seven hundred
- 1:12:01Speaker 2: and ninety five bottles of this ever produced and we're
- 1:12:04Speaker 2: drinking it. Yeah. Yeah, oh pretty cool, huh. I'm it's
- 1:12:08Speaker 2: one hundred proof, which means it's fifty percent alcohol by
- 1:12:11Speaker 2: volume and all Rise use this in blend of a
- 1:12:15Speaker 2: minimum of six years. So let's take it a little
- 1:12:17Speaker 2: taste here. And this is part of their artisan series.
- 1:12:20Speaker 2: So this Rye unlike their legacy series that comes from
- 1:12:22Speaker 2: whiskeys that you know that you see at your liquor store.
- 1:12:25Speaker 2: These are from independent producers all across the US, and
- 1:12:28Speaker 2: this is a blend. This is their artisan series from
- 1:12:30Speaker 2: Forward Slash. Just give it a little try. You put
- 1:12:32Speaker 2: any icing yours, Jack, I did. I tried it first
- 1:12:36Speaker 2: without the ice, and then it's like, oh, I need ice.
- 1:12:38Speaker 2: I gotta tell you, baby, one Q. That's the thing
- 1:12:41Speaker 2: about Rye that I've noticed, you know, they always say
- 1:12:42Speaker 2: you put a couple drops of whiskey, Like I will
- 1:12:45Speaker 2: get that with some whiskeys. Rise the one where I
- 1:12:47Speaker 2: will definitely put a little water in my Rye almost
- 1:12:49Speaker 2: every time. Yeah, I did notice that when we did
- 1:12:52Speaker 2: our bourbon bus and we went to Forward Slash. Is
- 1:12:55Speaker 2: you sample it first and then you add it like
- 1:12:57Speaker 2: a drop or two of water and it really opens
- 1:12:59Speaker 2: it up more.
- 1:13:01Speaker 18: You know.
- 1:13:01Speaker 2: It's funny because they say that the middle of this
- 1:13:03Speaker 2: has powdered sugar. This is way sweeter than I remember
- 1:13:07Speaker 2: most ries being Most ries are like like Old West whiskey, right,
- 1:13:11Speaker 2: I mean it's just like brutal for the sake of
- 1:13:13Speaker 2: being brutal. But this is not that at all. This
- 1:13:15Speaker 2: has a little bit of a buttery note to it.
- 1:13:17Speaker 2: It does have a little fresh for like apri con
- 1:13:19Speaker 2: in there. I don't understand. I don't understand how you
- 1:13:23Speaker 2: taste those things, all right, all right, real fast jack
- 1:13:26Speaker 2: talk to me. I think it's all when when it
- 1:13:28Speaker 2: comes to sipping whiskey or drinking straight spirits, I've always
- 1:13:33Speaker 2: hyper focused on the sip. Drink it differently, give it
- 1:13:37Speaker 2: different types of SIPs. I'm not saying like side of
- 1:13:41Speaker 2: your mouth. I'm just giving different cadences. Let it tap
- 1:13:44Speaker 2: dance on that front tongue, yeah, and then put some
- 1:13:47Speaker 2: air in there. And they say, also when you if
- 1:13:49Speaker 2: you get it in there like you do this like
- 1:13:50Speaker 2: so you see wine guys do this so they'll get
- 1:13:52Speaker 2: a lit in then they'll go reverse whistle and let
- 1:13:59Speaker 2: that air and then the other way that's reversed. I
- 1:14:04Speaker 2: forgot how to wed film. Damn, that's good man, that's
- 1:14:07Speaker 2: really nice. I can I don't even know if this
- 1:14:10Speaker 2: is a compliment. I've never seen an ice cube melt
- 1:14:13Speaker 2: so fast, said, it's already gone. I put mine in
- 1:14:18Speaker 2: there a second ago, and I looked at it was like,
- 1:14:20Speaker 2: somebody stole my ice cube. I'm not making this up.
- 1:14:22Speaker 2: We dropped one ice cube in this amazing What is
- 1:14:25Speaker 2: this like a like a sniffer or something. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:14:28Speaker 2: and it's gone. The segment it's four fifty two. We
- 1:14:32Speaker 2: just saw our ice cube melt in four minutes. Dude,
- 1:14:34Speaker 2: I gotta tell you, you know, you know, you know,
- 1:14:37Speaker 2: you want to be like America America. Like this is
- 1:14:39Speaker 2: America America. This isn't like a conglomerate, giant distillery that's
- 1:14:43Speaker 2: been bought out by a big company. These are four
- 1:14:46Speaker 2: small level distilleries across the US that they borrowed these
- 1:14:49Speaker 2: from to build this blend. I mean, this is really nice.
- 1:14:54Speaker 2: I so you and I were talking about, you know,
- 1:14:57Speaker 2: you were already brought it up that we weren't necessarily
- 1:14:59Speaker 2: the most to distinguished drinkers when it comes to rye whiskey. Yeah,
- 1:15:04Speaker 2: this is a phenomenal rye whiskey. It's really good. I
- 1:15:07Speaker 2: don't have a long history of liking rye, but you
- 1:15:10Speaker 2: you said, this is a hundred proof Yeah, hundred proof. Yeah,
- 1:15:13Speaker 2: that's gonna sneak up on me. Yeah, yeah, gotta be careful.
- 1:15:16Speaker 2: In fact, I've been currently I am snuck up on Okay. Wow.
- 1:15:20Speaker 2: One of the Rise in this mix they get their
- 1:15:24Speaker 2: rye from the same farm that has been supplying Pennsylvania
- 1:15:27Speaker 2: whiskey distillers since the seventeenth century. How crazy is that,
- 1:15:31Speaker 2: I'll way back to the sixteen Wow. So try it today. Good,
- 1:15:35Speaker 2: it's good. Yeah, it is good forward slash distillery and
- 1:15:41Speaker 2: blending house and this is their thorn Hurst rye Thornhurst
- 1:15:45Speaker 2: th h o r n h u r st. If
- 1:15:49Speaker 2: you go over for a sip, make sure you mentioned
- 1:15:50Speaker 2: that we sent you over there. Get you some of
- 1:15:52Speaker 2: these Rise. I think they do flights as well, so
- 1:15:54Speaker 2: if you wanted to do a flight of rye, yeah,
- 1:15:56Speaker 2: just kind of get a different flavor of what it's
- 1:15:58Speaker 2: like from one glass to the next, many different blas.
- 1:16:00Speaker 2: That's a great idea, especially with whiskey and Michael and
- 1:16:02Speaker 2: Timid there. They're guys who love to talk about bourbon
- 1:16:06Speaker 2: and whiskey and it's just a fun time and they're
- 1:16:08Speaker 2: great guys. Yeah, right there in winter Park. It's actually
- 1:16:11Speaker 2: one of my kids favorite stomps to go over there
- 1:16:12Speaker 2: to the tasting room and hang out. It's a and
- 1:16:14Speaker 2: they have a massive Halloween event coming up. So you
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: want to kind of pay attention, get on their radar.
- 1:16:19Speaker 2: Guys hop on their website. Also follow him on Insta.
- 1:16:22Speaker 2: Mind blown. Over a year ago, I went to Michigan.
- 1:16:28Speaker 2: I came back with what whiskey? As soon as you
- 1:16:32Speaker 2: just said all in the blend, Billy, I brought back
- 1:16:35Speaker 2: Journeyman whiskey you did. That's the same whiskey, and that's
- 1:16:40Speaker 2: like whiskey Michigan. Heaven. Yes, and here it is. But

- 1:17:41Speaker 19: day away from the splendor and the chemicals. You're talking
- 1:17:44Speaker 19: about watermelon yesterday. Start subbing some of that in between meals.
- 1:17:47Speaker 19: It'll satisfy.
- 1:17:49Speaker 2: Hello, Hello, I brother to thank you. I hear the
- 1:17:52Speaker 2: monk fruit is the best alternative. Yep, of course we.

- 1:18:03Speaker 15: kills all them mosquitoes?
- 1:18:06Speaker 10: I just wish he didn't have the park next to
- 1:18:08Speaker 10: my house.
- 1:18:11Speaker 2: I'm catching so many strays about that topic. It's so crazy,
- 1:18:14Speaker 2: all right. Four oh seven nine six four one Your
- 1:18:16Speaker 2: five o'clock, Heyward is rich r I c h. Slide
- 1:18:19Speaker 2: over to real radio out of him and send that
- 1:18:21Speaker 2: away for your chance at one thousand dollars. Rich That

- 1:18:30Speaker 2: Forward Slash has tequilas too. Yeah, they do you. Yeah,
- 1:18:35Speaker 2: Ross is exciting. That Bourbon Bass the bus. The Bourbon
- 1:18:38Speaker 2: bus experience at Forward Slash was amazing. That blueberry h
- 1:18:43Speaker 2: a whiskey they brought out the very end when they
- 1:18:45Speaker 2: roll out that cart with those two giant barrels and
- 1:18:47Speaker 2: then put that copper thing in there to start drawing
- 1:18:49Speaker 2: it out little by a little. It's just so good.
- 1:18:51Speaker 2: The funniest thing is when we were first started talking
- 1:18:54Speaker 2: about the Bourbon bus, all I did was google, like,
- 1:18:56Speaker 2: you know, distilleries near Orlando. That at the first thing
- 1:19:00Speaker 2: that came up. And then when I reach out, he's
- 1:19:02Speaker 2: like I talked to Tim and he's like, oh, yeah,
- 1:19:04Speaker 2: I've been listening to you guys for years, Like this
- 1:19:07Speaker 2: is gonna go well, yeah, go quite well. Actually, coming
- 1:19:10Speaker 2: up here in a few minutes, we're gonna talk to
- 1:19:11Speaker 2: Jack Royer. He's the new personality over at Fox News.
- 1:19:15Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:19:15Speaker 2: Ryan Elijah, who was part of that morning show is
- 1:19:17Speaker 2: by the way, Ryan's a great guy. Wish him the
- 1:19:19Speaker 2: very best. Against Corey Mills should not be that big
- 1:19:21Speaker 2: of a deal. It shouldn't be that tough for him.
- 1:19:23Speaker 2: You got a few people in that race. So that's
- 1:19:25Speaker 2: the Republican primary for Corey Mill's seat. Yes, he's got
- 1:19:30Speaker 2: some competition there. And when you are on the air
- 1:19:33Speaker 2: and you run for public office, you got to go.
- 1:19:35Speaker 2: You have to leave the air because of that whole
- 1:19:38Speaker 2: equal time. Yeah, I'm interested though if if he does
- 1:19:41Speaker 2: I mean, let's say that he you know, he doesn't
- 1:19:43Speaker 2: win the primary, he know, doesn't get to move forward
- 1:19:45Speaker 2: this time. Does he stay in politics or does he
- 1:19:47Speaker 2: go back to news and then try it again later.
- 1:19:49Speaker 2: I mean, what's the deal there? Did they leave him
- 1:19:51Speaker 2: an opening over at Fox or no? I really that's
- 1:19:54Speaker 2: a question for Fox. Yeah, yeah, and there they're boss
- 1:19:58Speaker 2: Melissa over there. But and I don't know the answer
- 1:20:01Speaker 2: to that. And it's also Ryan what he you know,
- 1:20:04Speaker 2: wants to do at that point. Yeah, you know, politics
- 1:20:06Speaker 2: is such a coin flip anywhere you have no idea
- 1:20:08Speaker 2: how it's gonna happen. I mean, he should be a
- 1:20:10Speaker 2: shoe in against against Mills. I'm not really familiar with
- 1:20:13Speaker 2: any of the other candidates, but Mills has got so
- 1:20:14Speaker 2: much baggage. Yeah, but it's interesting, you know for anyone
- 1:20:18Speaker 2: who runs her office and doesn't win. You know, you
- 1:20:21Speaker 2: find out that night that oh I need to do
- 1:20:24Speaker 2: something else now yeah yeah right, yeah yeah yeah. So
- 1:20:28Speaker 2: you know we always hear these terrible ex boyfriend stories
- 1:20:31Speaker 2: all the time, right, we have them all the time,
- 1:20:33Speaker 2: and in Florida we seem to have a bevy of them.
- 1:20:35Speaker 2: We never have a shortage of X crazy ex boyfriend stories.
- 1:20:38Speaker 2: And how many have you had again ex boyfriends? So many?
- 1:20:45Speaker 2: This is out of Flagler County. I'm gonna give you
- 1:20:47Speaker 2: guys a little guessing game here. Okay, it looks like
- 1:20:49Speaker 2: Netflix is getting another season. Flag Onoman is accused of
- 1:20:53Speaker 2: stalking his ex girlfriend and then breaking into her house
- 1:20:58Speaker 2: and stealing things from you know. Thirty one year old
- 1:21:02Speaker 2: Justin Fountain met this woman on a Facebook dating app.
- 1:21:05Speaker 2: I just simply can't imagine dating online or trying to
- 1:21:08Speaker 2: find a person to spend time with online when people
- 1:21:12Speaker 2: go there to hide their reality so often, and this
- 1:21:15Speaker 2: is one of those cases. You know, she lives in
- 1:21:17Speaker 2: Palm Coach Stild Police she broke up with Fountain after
- 1:21:19Speaker 2: it became verbally aggressive with her and was attempting to
- 1:21:22Speaker 2: control her everyday life. He did not handle the breakup well.
- 1:21:27Speaker 2: He broke into her house after she left. He was
- 1:21:31Speaker 2: accused of stalking and theft. He accessed the victims social
- 1:21:34Speaker 2: media and phone phone accounts, including using some apps with
- 1:21:38Speaker 2: location tracking to find her right now. I mean she
- 1:21:42Speaker 2: lives at a red roof inn where she's been living.
- 1:21:46Speaker 2: He started showing up at her workplace, the hotel, and
- 1:21:49Speaker 2: even a restaurant where she was eating with a friend.
- 1:21:51Speaker 2: When she returned to her room, she found in complete
- 1:21:53Speaker 2: disarray and several items were missing. One of those items
- 1:21:59Speaker 2: was insane toy sexual toy. Can I tell you it
- 1:22:04Speaker 2: was a toy? It was not a sexual toy, but
- 1:22:08Speaker 2: it was It was what the toy had that really
- 1:22:11Speaker 2: made the big difference. An unsolved Rubik's Cube. Oh that's
- 1:22:14Speaker 2: so funny. No, not an unsolved Rubik's cube. Think the most.
- 1:22:18Speaker 2: Think if you had a woman in your life, and
- 1:22:21Speaker 2: this woman had had some you know, had I had
- 1:22:23Speaker 2: a very colorful life. You break into our house, you
- 1:22:26Speaker 2: steal something, No way you're gonna get this. But I
- 1:22:29Speaker 2: feel like I have to tell the story because it's
- 1:22:31Speaker 2: so completely crazy. I didn't closer hints a change. You
- 1:22:35Speaker 2: still you steal something that is attached to a memory, ashes,
- 1:22:43Speaker 2: a trophy. This dude stole a teddy bear, and the
- 1:22:47Speaker 2: teddy bear had the ashes and an urn of her
- 1:22:50Speaker 2: dead child. Oh my god, Ross, first of all, waits
- 1:22:57Speaker 2: the weirdest gong ever, that is a weird I mean,
- 1:22:59Speaker 2: I didn't see the child and this guy knew. This
- 1:23:02Speaker 2: guy knew that the value of this a sentiment of values.
- 1:23:07Speaker 2: So lootless guy is crazy and has a broke stole
- 1:23:11Speaker 2: her insolent as well. Oh my oh man, could that
- 1:23:15Speaker 2: be like attempted murder? He goes, he goes, he goes.
- 1:23:20Speaker 2: The sheriff says, I can't think of a more despicable
- 1:23:22Speaker 2: person that would do that, and then it continues on
- 1:23:25Speaker 2: the arrest. Report also stated that Fountain claimed to have
- 1:23:27Speaker 2: taken the woman's insolent messages allegedly sent by Fountain and
- 1:23:32Speaker 2: edited for what the report said was quote five more
- 1:23:36Speaker 2: seconds and I'm gonna set this teddy bear on fire.
- 1:23:40Speaker 2: If you want your son back, tell buddy to leave now. So, Buddy,
- 1:23:44Speaker 2: I guess this is somebody that came over to to
- 1:23:46Speaker 2: take care of him or help out. He told this woman,
- 1:23:49Speaker 2: he was gonna send a new boyfriend. No, no, no,
- 1:23:52Speaker 2: I don't know. Well who's buddy? I don't know. It
- 1:23:54Speaker 2: just said, uh, but he's a mystery guy that went
- 1:23:59Speaker 2: over to the house. I guess, yeah, I'm guessing. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:24:02Speaker 2: so Buddy maybe is a friend she knows that she
- 1:24:04Speaker 2: called to protect her, or maybe it's just a name,
- 1:24:07Speaker 2: you know, Yeah, that's a nickname. He's in Hey, buddy
- 1:24:10Speaker 2: for any guy in general, he says. While the deputy
- 1:24:13Speaker 2: was talking to her. While the deputy was interviewing this woman,
- 1:24:17Speaker 2: this dude called over sixty times from multiple numbers and
- 1:24:22Speaker 2: sent more than fifty text messages. Maybe the cop was buddy, Yeah,
- 1:24:27Speaker 2: have you ever done that? Have you ever just like
- 1:24:29Speaker 2: double triple quad called during like an argument? I think
- 1:24:33Speaker 2: the furthest I've ever gone was three? No, I three,
- 1:24:36Speaker 2: like within thirty minutes. And then I was like, all right, yeah,
- 1:24:38Speaker 2: I set to move on. I see I said one,
- 1:24:41Speaker 2: And if it isn't seen, like, if it isn't responded to,
- 1:24:44Speaker 2: I just like, you know, listen, this is a scenario
- 1:24:46Speaker 2: where we need to set this pan outside and let
- 1:24:48Speaker 2: it cool off a little bit. That's what I do.
- 1:24:51Speaker 2: She wouldn't met with somebody else, So I also confronted
- 1:24:53Speaker 2: she was on a date with somebody else. And then
- 1:24:55Speaker 2: when he saw her, he freaked down and saw the
- 1:24:57Speaker 2: inside his car, they found the missing teddy Bear containing
- 1:25:00Speaker 2: the woman's sons ashes. He was arrested and now facing
- 1:25:03Speaker 2: multiple felony charges. And then the cop says, dude, if
- 1:25:08Speaker 2: he's acting like this just with a couple of weeks
- 1:25:10Speaker 2: of time with her, imagine what it was gonna be
- 1:25:12Speaker 2: like like four months down the road. Should be chained
- 1:25:15Speaker 2: for something, in something this dude's apartment. They dated for
- 1:25:17Speaker 2: a couple of weeks. A couple of weeks, that's it.
- 1:25:20Speaker 2: She kind of got a peek into his craziness. Oh yeah,
- 1:25:22Speaker 2: I said bye bye, Yeah, see you later, buddy. Yeah. Yeah,
- 1:25:26Speaker 2: there's an entire I wasn't joking. There's an entire Netflix
- 1:25:29Speaker 2: documentary series right now that's called like worst ex Ever,
- 1:25:33Speaker 2: Worst neighbor Ever. Watch that. It's just all like top
- 1:25:37Speaker 2: ten worst people ever that you can have in proximity. Yeah,
- 1:25:42Speaker 2: it does seem to be a new genre for Netflix. Yeah,
- 1:25:45Speaker 2: she says, she went and met with somebody else, so
- 1:25:47Speaker 2: I confronted them about it. But this is what he's saying. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:25:50Speaker 2: but I was never violent, never aggressive, he said. I
- 1:25:53Speaker 2: went into the room and I got my stuff, which
- 1:25:55Speaker 2: is in the car. If you look in the truck,
- 1:25:56Speaker 2: you can see my stuff's in the car. And in
- 1:25:59Speaker 2: the car, of course, he found the missing teddy Bear
- 1:26:00Speaker 2: containing the woman's son's ashes. He already had stuff at
- 1:26:05Speaker 2: her place. Yeah, he already had stuffered her place. Yeah.
- 1:26:07Speaker 2: After Oh no, no, no, well yeah, well I guess
- 1:26:09Speaker 2: maybe some clothes or something, but what he took was hers. Yeah,
- 1:26:16Speaker 2: it doesn't seem like texture. How do you burn ashes? Oh?
- 1:26:20Speaker 2: Come on, so the ashes are in the teddy bear.
- 1:26:24Speaker 2: The teddy bear is what he was going to burn.
- 1:26:26Speaker 2: But they said the ashes weren't an urn inside the
- 1:26:28Speaker 2: teddy bear. So maybe that teddy bear was designed to
- 1:26:31Speaker 2: hold an urn because it was a baby or a child.
- 1:26:34Speaker 2: Maybe that's the case. And he knew, like you unzipped
- 1:26:37Speaker 2: the back of it, it's got a container in there
- 1:26:38Speaker 2: of some sort that holds the ashes. I don't want
- 1:26:40Speaker 2: to get I don't want to be too judgmental, but
- 1:26:42Speaker 2: it just seems very Jerry Springer on this one. You
- 1:26:45Speaker 2: really met in a couple of weeks. It seems very trailers.
- 1:26:49Speaker 2: She's living in a red roof in Buddy, Okay, she
- 1:26:52Speaker 2: lives in a you know, a like an n sweet
- 1:26:54Speaker 2: she lives in a hotel. So, I mean, you know,
- 1:26:55Speaker 2: I don't know who, but it sounds like someone might
- 1:26:58Speaker 2: have a face tattoo. Yeah, there's definitely a tear drop
- 1:27:01Speaker 2: hat somewhere. There's something, maybe some green hair dye here
- 1:27:07Speaker 2: slipped for sure. We wish of the very best, though,
- 1:27:10Speaker 2: don't we. We want her to have a good life,
- 1:27:13Speaker 2: and we want her to have no men like this
- 1:27:15Speaker 2: in her life for the remainder of her existence. Think
- 1:27:16Speaker 2: you could be charged with kidnapping. It says multiple felonies.
- 1:27:21Speaker 2: I guess kidnapping. Well, I mean, did he ever hold
- 1:27:23Speaker 2: her outside of her will?
- 1:27:25Speaker 8: No?
- 1:27:25Speaker 2: Child?
- 1:27:27Speaker 16: Jack?
- 1:27:27Speaker 2: Jesus Jack, Jack Jack? What are you doing?
- 1:27:33Speaker 16: What?
- 1:27:34Speaker 2: It was an honest question? It was not an honest question.
- 1:27:40Speaker 2: This guy subourbon. Now it becomes the prince of darkness.
- 1:27:44Speaker 2: That was the least honest thing you've ever said about
- 1:27:47Speaker 2: something you just said. Horrible. I'm glad it had happy end. Well,
- 1:27:56Speaker 2: I mean I don't know happy. The guy got arrested.
- 1:28:01Speaker 2: She still got back to the red roof, though, you know,
- 1:28:02Speaker 2: I mean, oh yeah, all right. Uh and then the
- 1:28:05Speaker 2: sheriff says, fortunately for us, he's kind of a dumb criminal.
- 1:28:08Speaker 2: Yeah see, this keeps checking out to be peer slip
- 1:28:11Speaker 2: face tat green hair dye for me. And by the way,
- 1:28:13Speaker 2: I don't let me go see this guy's face. I
- 1:28:15Speaker 2: don't I don't know what he looks like. Oh there's
- 1:28:17Speaker 2: it's kind of a weird thing. Weird. Uh, let me
- 1:28:20Speaker 2: see what is fountain spelled exactly like it sounds. Give
- 1:28:24Speaker 2: me a pierced lip survey. Say, he looks like just
- 1:28:28Speaker 2: a regular old kind of bro. You know, he doesn't
- 1:28:30Speaker 2: really look like he doesn't really look like yeah, kind
- 1:28:39Speaker 2: of looks like t bag. Oh my god, dude, oh
- 1:28:41Speaker 2: my god, he does. He's got face tats. Oh my god,
- 1:28:45Speaker 2: my face hats. I nailed it. Yeah, dude, this is it.
- 1:28:49Speaker 2: I think he has tattooed eyebrows. He does have tattooed eyebrows.
- 1:28:53Speaker 2: And they say something, oh yeah, this guy's met out crazy. Yeah,
- 1:28:56Speaker 2: yeah for sure. You okay, there you go. Well, now
- 1:28:58Speaker 2: we know, all right, four oh seven nine four one
- 1:29:01Speaker 2: text us got a mighty man. Look at that dude
- 1:29:04Speaker 2: he has he has tatts. He's got an ear an
- 1:29:06Speaker 2: era or you know one of the ear tats are
- 1:29:09Speaker 2: the eye tats with the the tear drop. He's got
- 1:29:13Speaker 2: a tap between his nose. I don't know what that's
- 1:29:14Speaker 2: all about. And then he has tattooed on eyebrows. I
- 1:29:18Speaker 2: think that's a meth thing, right, when you get your
- 1:29:19Speaker 2: eyebrows tatted on, like a lot of met Like when
- 1:29:22Speaker 2: you go to faces of meth. There's a lot of that.
- 1:29:24Speaker 2: I'm just gonna throw the faces of myth. Well, it's

- 1:31:01Speaker 2: you a South Florida guy, a South Florida guy, I
- 1:31:04Speaker 2: don't know, you know, Nick Saban went there, hated it
- 1:31:06Speaker 2: and went to Alabama where I'm from. I'm sorrying to
- 1:31:08Speaker 2: understand why he left. You know, yeah, mine is tough.
- 1:31:10Speaker 2: It's tough, but we lived in Fort Lauderdale. We enjoyed
- 1:31:13Speaker 2: it was a great professional opportunity. All that. We're glad
- 1:31:15Speaker 2: to be here in central Florida. It's so funny, man,
- 1:31:17Speaker 2: when you watch, you know, people who do local news
- 1:31:19Speaker 2: as they kind of either they have, you know, they
- 1:31:21Speaker 2: want to be in local news, or they're vying for
- 1:31:23Speaker 2: a job for one of the networks, the big news
- 1:31:26Speaker 2: or whatever. I don't know where you are on that
- 1:31:27Speaker 2: and that path, but it is funny to always kind
- 1:31:29Speaker 2: of watch how they've skipped and hopped. You know what's
- 1:31:32Speaker 2: weird about you guys about a local long list of
- 1:31:35Speaker 2: things about local news guys like I've seen this, like
- 1:31:39Speaker 2: but two or three recently. Like they they get they
- 1:31:41Speaker 2: leave their hometown, right, they go out and they make
- 1:31:45Speaker 2: their world. They do twenty five years in markets, they
- 1:31:48Speaker 2: go from small market to a media market to a
- 1:31:50Speaker 2: big market. They do their fifteen years in the big market,
- 1:31:52Speaker 2: and they always wind up going back to their hometown, yeah,
- 1:31:55Speaker 2: to do their hometown thing, to work for the newspaper
- 1:31:58Speaker 2: or it's like home, yeah, you know, it isn't it wild?
- 1:32:00Speaker 2: Have that kind of happens. Is that is that kind
- 1:32:02Speaker 2: of your path or what? I don't know, we'll see.
- 1:32:03Speaker 2: My path right now is getting my eight year old
- 1:32:05Speaker 2: through school, giving him a good life, all of that,
- 1:32:08Speaker 2: so you know how it is. But I'm from Birmingham, Alabama.
- 1:32:11Speaker 2: My dad was a news anchor there for about twenty
- 1:32:12Speaker 2: five years, so I kind of grew up watching him
- 1:32:15Speaker 2: do it, following him around shooting his stories. I kind
- 1:32:17Speaker 2: of wanted to get out of his shadow a little
- 1:32:19Speaker 2: bit and kind of prove to myself that I could
- 1:32:21Speaker 2: do it without people going, hey, aren't you Mike's kid? Yeah? Yeah,
- 1:32:23Speaker 2: And so you know, we'll see. I think I could
- 1:32:25Speaker 2: be happy here for a long time. The folks at
- 1:32:27Speaker 2: Fox thirty five are lovely, and what we're doing over
- 1:32:29Speaker 2: there is exciting. So I'm glad to be here. You
- 1:32:30Speaker 2: couldn't be with a better station. I agree. I mean,
- 1:32:32Speaker 2: we have such a symbiotic relationship with Fox thirty five,
- 1:32:36Speaker 2: and look, we have a great relationship with all the
- 1:32:38Speaker 2: news challenge. Just for some reason we have gravitated toward
- 1:32:41Speaker 2: using those guys that are our partner in weather. So
- 1:32:43Speaker 2: when we have bad weather, when hurricane seasons, that's ins
- 1:32:45Speaker 2: and I was driving in I heard TJ. Springer say, hey,
- 1:32:47Speaker 2: it could be torrential, and it was torrential confirmed. Yeah,
- 1:32:50Speaker 2: we had a little gnarly stormworld lidman to go. But
- 1:32:53Speaker 2: you got some wonderful people, and they do a bunch
- 1:32:55Speaker 2: of cool stuff over there. They really do. It's not
- 1:32:57Speaker 2: a super conventional, very uptight kind of news. These guys
- 1:33:00Speaker 2: let it roll. It's fun. Yeah, and they do a
- 1:33:02Speaker 2: good job. That's why they're the number one show in Orlando,
- 1:33:04Speaker 2: the number one station Orlantoa. Good Day Orlando I think
- 1:33:06Speaker 2: is some of the best local television I've seen in
- 1:33:08Speaker 2: a country, especially lately. Yeah, one hundred percent. They have
- 1:33:10Speaker 2: one of the best hosts out there. I mean, Amy
- 1:33:12Speaker 2: cal Felt is an absolute monster, and that entire crew
- 1:33:15Speaker 2: does a good job, you know, including Ryan of course
- 1:33:17Speaker 2: we wish him the best, but yeah, awesome people. How
- 1:33:20Speaker 2: did you get this gig this job today? Did you
- 1:33:22Speaker 2: ask for this job? Looking for you? I I'm fortunate
- 1:33:26Speaker 2: a lot of kids younger than me asked for mentorship
- 1:33:28Speaker 2: and help, and I always tell them the most important
- 1:33:30Speaker 2: thing in doing the job and getting the job is
- 1:33:32Speaker 2: a relationship. And I came through here when I worked
- 1:33:35Speaker 2: in Tampa for a couple of years, worked in Tampa.
- 1:33:38Speaker 2: Came over to see a friend of mine who worked
- 1:33:39Speaker 2: at Fox thirty five. Met Melissa by chance that day,
- 1:33:43Speaker 2: got walked through the room. I said, hig, nice to
- 1:33:44Speaker 2: meet you. We didn't talk again for four years, and
- 1:33:46Speaker 2: she called me four months ago and said, hey, you
- 1:33:48Speaker 2: want a main acre job up here? And I'm like,
- 1:33:49Speaker 2: you know what, that sounds pretty pretty damn good. That's
- 1:33:51Speaker 2: something like she does. Like that. That's a very Melissa move.
- 1:33:54Speaker 2: You talk about how unconventional in a good way Fox
- 1:33:57Speaker 2: thirty five is. That's how Melissa operates. Just she he
- 1:34:00Speaker 2: has a really good gut and if I don't say
- 1:34:02Speaker 2: so myself, a good eye for talent. So you were
- 1:34:06Speaker 2: in Tampa, but then you ended up in Miami. How
- 1:34:08Speaker 2: long were you in Miami? It was in Miami almost
- 1:34:10Speaker 2: three years at WSBN Channel seven down there. What are
- 1:34:12Speaker 2: you gonna miss about Miami? Probably living near the beach.
- 1:34:16Speaker 2: That was pretty nice. We lived about fifteen minutes from
- 1:34:18Speaker 2: Fort Lauderdale Beach. That was fun to run over there.
- 1:34:20Speaker 2: But I gotta be honest, you know, when you're from Birmingham, Alabama,
- 1:34:23Speaker 2: I think Central Florida feels a little more like home
- 1:34:25Speaker 2: than South Florida does. Yeah. South Florida's got plenty to love,
- 1:34:28Speaker 2: but we were kind of glad for a change. And
- 1:34:30Speaker 2: this I'm telling you what. My wife and I've been
- 1:34:32Speaker 2: driving around going this feels a lot like home.
- 1:34:34Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:34:34Speaker 2: Yeah, you know you can go about twelve miles north
- 1:34:36Speaker 2: of here and you are in Alabama. Yeah right, I mean,
- 1:34:39Speaker 2: if you miss the beach, let me introduce you to
- 1:34:42Speaker 2: a little guy we call Volcano Bay. Oh right, I
- 1:34:45Speaker 2: need to get a quaint of the Volcano Bay. Yeah
- 1:34:48Speaker 2: it's dude, it's a fake volcano. But if you have
- 1:34:50Speaker 2: two beers, it's real. I was gonna say, after the
- 1:34:52Speaker 2: whiskey tasting, I bet it looks like he Kilimanjaro. What
- 1:34:56Speaker 2: do you do for hobbies? What do you like to do?
- 1:34:57Speaker 2: I should I stay on the radio that I'm a
- 1:34:59Speaker 2: cigar so our John Brown says he's going to take
- 1:35:04Speaker 2: me to his favorite chop? Is that what you order him? Well?
- 1:35:06Speaker 2: Tell John Brown his favorite chop is by That's where
- 1:35:09Speaker 2: he comes to get to gar them off me. I
- 1:35:13Speaker 2: hand John, I need to be Jim Colber's best friend.
- 1:35:17Speaker 2: It sounds like there you go, But I'm in I'm
- 1:35:20Speaker 2: in dad mode most of the time. You know, whatever
- 1:35:22Speaker 2: my kid wants to do. We like to ride bikes
- 1:35:23Speaker 2: through the ball and uh, we'll still get over to
- 1:35:25Speaker 2: the beach. I need to get everybody's beach recommendation around here.
- 1:35:27Speaker 2: I've heard everybody say this is the hidden gym, this
- 1:35:30Speaker 2: is the secret place to go. So and I have
- 1:35:32Speaker 2: a sneaking suspicion we will be either Disney or Universal
- 1:35:35Speaker 2: pass holders at some point in the near future. Yeah,
- 1:35:37Speaker 2: if you have an eight year old, it's more than
- 1:35:39Speaker 2: likely going to be Disney for a little bit and
- 1:35:41Speaker 2: then you'll switch to the Universal. Right, what was the
- 1:35:44Speaker 2: cell to the eight year old? And hey, we're moving
- 1:35:45Speaker 2: to Orlando. You're starting a new school, but we'll live
- 1:35:48Speaker 2: next to Disney World in cool. So when did you
- 1:35:52Speaker 2: start over there? Starting? Uh doing paperwork? Monday on the
- 1:35:55Speaker 2: year Tuesday? So damn really yeah, week from today, week
- 1:35:58Speaker 2: from today? Wow, looking forward to it's' be a fun ride.
- 1:36:00Speaker 2: So when you started out to be a journalist not
- 1:36:03Speaker 2: a television personality, and then it kind of more for
- 1:36:05Speaker 2: did you start out to be a television personality and
- 1:36:07Speaker 2: just kind of it was journalism? I mean, I think
- 1:36:09Speaker 2: you know I admire both of you and your careers
- 1:36:12Speaker 2: in radio, because you know how it goes in this business.
- 1:36:14Speaker 2: You never kind of know what's next. I watched my
- 1:36:16Speaker 2: dad anchor local news and report for many years growing up,
- 1:36:20Speaker 2: and when I was fourteen, I went to this radio
- 1:36:22Speaker 2: station that I heard they were hiring to broadcast my
- 1:36:25Speaker 2: high school's football games on the radio. And I'm like, hey,
- 1:36:28Speaker 2: you guys need somebody to do that, and they're like, yeah,
- 1:36:29Speaker 2: we're looking around, we can't find anybody. And I'm like, well,
- 1:36:31Speaker 2: what if you let me do it? And they were like,
- 1:36:33Speaker 2: you're out of your mind. You can't drive, you know
- 1:36:35Speaker 2: what I mean. So I said, go ask the athletic director,
- 1:36:38Speaker 2: see if he's cool with it. And they said, hey,
- 1:36:39Speaker 2: we got a guy. The only bad news is he's
- 1:36:42Speaker 2: sixteen years old. The guy goes, you know what, we'll well,
- 1:36:44Speaker 2: i'll let it fly. Who is it? And they said, well,
- 1:36:46Speaker 2: it's Jack Royer and actually he's fourteen, and they were like,
- 1:36:49Speaker 2: you know what, we'll pay him a hundred bucks a
- 1:36:50Speaker 2: night to do some football. So I kind of got
- 1:36:52Speaker 2: started in radio doing football in the radio. Later we
- 1:36:55Speaker 2: bought the time, like we were talking about a minute ago,
- 1:36:57Speaker 2: did it myself for a couple of years, and then
- 1:36:59Speaker 2: I just realized I was not very good at calling
- 1:37:02Speaker 2: sports on the radio as much as I was news,
- 1:37:04Speaker 2: and I just enjoyed doing the news in the variety
- 1:37:06Speaker 2: and meeting people in all different walks of life. Well, buddy,
- 1:37:09Speaker 2: listen to news in Florida is different than anywhere else
- 1:37:11Speaker 2: I'm playing. You will definitely you heard the story we
- 1:37:14Speaker 2: just read. Yeah, I stole a girl's teddy bear that
- 1:37:17Speaker 2: had her son's ashes and she he threatened to burn them.
- 1:37:21Speaker 2: So question again that moment that you came to grips
- 1:37:25Speaker 2: with of saying that I'm not very good at sports calling, Well, like,
- 1:37:29Speaker 2: what skill were you missing? Like what was the thing
- 1:37:32Speaker 2: that you were like, I'm just bad at my gosh,
- 1:37:35Speaker 2: when you start off anything like, buddy, listen, I'll tell
- 1:37:37Speaker 2: you the moment. The moment was I was at Alabama,
- 1:37:40Speaker 2: I was a student and they needed somebody to fill
- 1:37:43Speaker 2: in calling a softball game. Baseball. I don't know if
- 1:37:47Speaker 2: you've ever done it. I would say baseball. Softball is
- 1:37:49Speaker 2: probably the hardest sport to do in terms of filling time,
- 1:37:51Speaker 2: and it's so slow. Anybody can do football, anybody can
- 1:37:54Speaker 2: do basketball, and I sucked so bad at this softball game,
- 1:37:58Speaker 2: and I was like, in fact, I have a tape
- 1:38:00Speaker 2: where you can hear me forget one of the team's
- 1:38:02Speaker 2: mascot names. But I think that was the moment. I'm like,
- 1:38:05Speaker 2: I should probably stick to the you know what I mean,
- 1:38:07Speaker 2: hard hard to mess that up? Very cool. Do you
- 1:38:09Speaker 2: remember the mascot now? I think no, because I watched
- 1:38:13Speaker 2: the tape back and I cringe and then I don't
- 1:38:15Speaker 2: watch it again for eight years. You ever have a
- 1:38:17Speaker 2: moment you just cringe about in the middle of the
- 1:38:19Speaker 2: night years after it happens. Yes, that's yeah story. Usually
- 1:38:23Speaker 2: it's usually that day's show. Usually, so you heard a
- 1:38:29Speaker 2: drink and some whiskey. If you have a cigar love,
- 1:38:32Speaker 2: Usually that also turns into a bit of a spirit love.
- 1:38:35Speaker 2: Do you have one of those? I like a little
- 1:38:36Speaker 2: bullet rye whiskey. To be honest with you, I I can't.
- 1:38:40Speaker 2: I couldn't tell which one of you was saying. I
- 1:38:42Speaker 2: can't get the flavor. Yeah, yeah, I'm trying. Jack, I'm
- 1:38:45Speaker 2: with you, man. I don't know if my palette is
- 1:38:47Speaker 2: not quite refined enough yet, but I'm pretty basic when
- 1:38:50Speaker 2: it comes to the spirits self. Jacks don't know that's
- 1:38:53Speaker 2: right anything, but we're gonna get along. Graty don't know.
- 1:38:57Speaker 2: That's a jag thing. It's a new segment.
- 1:38:59Speaker 5: There we go.
- 1:39:00Speaker 2: We'll do a whiskey tasting segment where we say it
- 1:39:02Speaker 2: tastes the same. Yeah, I can't tell a difference. Yeah,
- 1:39:05Speaker 2: I think you have a really good time of a Fox.
- 1:39:07Speaker 2: But they're like so and by the way, everybody has
- 1:39:09Speaker 2: a very like a cool personality. Everybody is just really
- 1:39:13Speaker 2: easy to get along with. And they do a lot
- 1:39:15Speaker 2: of fun stuff over there. Again, they're not stuffy. They
- 1:39:17Speaker 2: do they don't take themselves too seriously. They do stuff
- 1:39:19Speaker 2: in that parking lot, Burger cookoffs, all kinds of crazy stuff.
- 1:39:23Speaker 2: And of course with Dave Martin over there, for sure,
- 1:39:24Speaker 2: he goes out and does all the fun stuff as well.
- 1:39:26Speaker 2: He does such a good job. I love his segments
- 1:39:28Speaker 2: are like musty TV's amazing. I just love the way
- 1:39:31Speaker 2: Fox thirty five is embracing the future, embracing finding viewers
- 1:39:35Speaker 2: where they are where they want us, not just expecting
- 1:39:37Speaker 2: them necessarily to tune in at five, although we welcome
- 1:39:40Speaker 2: in and hope that they do. But you know, they've
- 1:39:42Speaker 2: really assembled this team of people who think into the future,
- 1:39:45Speaker 2: think about what our viewers want, what your listeners want,
- 1:39:48Speaker 2: and find ways to meet them where they are. I
- 1:39:50Speaker 2: think that's really the secret. Talking to Jack Royer, he
- 1:39:53Speaker 2: starts at Fox thirty five tomorrow, will be in the
- 1:39:55Speaker 2: afternoon with a week from tomorrow a week from tomorrow. Yeah,
- 1:39:59Speaker 2: so Jack, you're doing the five, the six, the ten,
- 1:40:02Speaker 2: and the eleven. Yes, you have read the press release
- 1:40:04Speaker 2: very well about that. It's on the website as well. Yes,
- 1:40:07Speaker 2: I'm really excited for the opportunity, but we've got a
- 1:40:09Speaker 2: lot of work cut out for now. Everybody here in
- 1:40:11Speaker 2: town that is with Fox are very social media savvy.
- 1:40:15Speaker 2: Is this something that you have already incorporated into your
- 1:40:17Speaker 2: career down South? I, you know, I mean savviness. I
- 1:40:20Speaker 2: think is a beauty's in the eye of the beholder.
- 1:40:22Speaker 2: I think everybody's got their own style. I uh, I
- 1:40:24Speaker 2: try to I try to balance it. I know people
- 1:40:27Speaker 2: don't want to see too many pictures of me and
- 1:40:28Speaker 2: my family. They don't want to you know, I'm trying
- 1:40:30Speaker 2: to figure out where to go with that in terms
- 1:40:32Speaker 2: of my personal social media. But I think I'm excited
- 1:40:35Speaker 2: to be able to jump on Fox Local whenever the
- 1:40:38Speaker 2: news is happening, not just in the constraints of the
- 1:40:40Speaker 2: day's newscasts, and bring stuff to our viewers as it happens.
- 1:40:44Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:40:44Speaker 2: Yeah, I think one of the reasons I believe that
- 1:40:46Speaker 2: that station does so well is because of that. I
- 1:40:48Speaker 2: think that they have a really good personal connection because
- 1:40:51Speaker 2: Amy's you know, Instagram and Facebook and all that, she
- 1:40:54Speaker 2: always puts up stuff she when they go on vacation,
- 1:40:55Speaker 2: Amy puts yes, they know everything. And I think that
- 1:40:59Speaker 2: that that's in particular has kind of grown to that
- 1:41:02Speaker 2: there's another personality in town that does it as well.
- 1:41:04Speaker 2: But I think like a lot of the staff at
- 1:41:07Speaker 2: Fox does that. They kind of let you inside a
- 1:41:08Speaker 2: little bit. Yeah, And they also have a really good
- 1:41:11Speaker 2: connection with the community. They do a lot of community
- 1:41:14Speaker 2: outreached stuff. So a lot of people that we actually
- 1:41:16Speaker 2: have on our show that do special segments for us
- 1:41:18Speaker 2: wind up over there on their morning show as well,
- 1:41:20Speaker 2: because it's just cool stuff that the city likes. Yeah. Right,
- 1:41:23Speaker 2: And you know, I've known a lot of people in
- 1:41:25Speaker 2: my industry who are very private. They don't want you
- 1:41:27Speaker 2: to know a lot about it. But I'm like, you know,
- 1:41:29Speaker 2: I'm an open book. I mean, I love sharing my
- 1:41:31Speaker 2: life with people. I love hearing about people's experiences, and
- 1:41:34Speaker 2: I love saying hi to folks. I've already I've been
- 1:41:35Speaker 2: wearing a Fox thirty five hat around. I met Nate
- 1:41:37Speaker 2: at Home Depot, who does a gardening segment, the other day,
- 1:41:40Speaker 2: and I've got a lot to learn about home improvement,
- 1:41:41Speaker 2: so he was helping me quite a bit. But yeah,
- 1:41:44Speaker 2: I just you can follow me on Instagram if you
- 1:41:46Speaker 2: want to, but don't judge me. The handle is the
- 1:41:49Speaker 2: same one that I got in high school. Yeah, oh,
- 1:41:51Speaker 2: playing practice Jack Royer, There you go. My high school
- 1:41:54Speaker 2: football coach is called me cactus Jack has stuck. Has
- 1:41:57Speaker 2: nothing to do with the wrestler. Yeah, anybody want to
- 1:42:01Speaker 2: go around the room and figure out how he got
- 1:42:03Speaker 2: cactus pain in the ass? Prickly. I think my wife
- 1:42:08Speaker 2: was listening right now, would agree, would agree? She's like,
- 1:42:11Speaker 2: this is the nicest I've ever heard him. How did
- 1:42:13Speaker 2: you get it? My high school football coach is just
- 1:42:15Speaker 2: nicknamed me? Job was it? There was no? I think
- 1:42:18Speaker 2: it was just rhymed and easy for them to yell
- 1:42:19Speaker 2: at me when they want to or something, So like,
- 1:42:22Speaker 2: is it is it weird? Can we have like a
- 1:42:23Speaker 2: quick like pop quiz rat tat like get to know you?
- 1:42:26Speaker 2: You do like a lightning round?
- 1:42:28Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:42:28Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 1:42:28Speaker 2: Okay, Now you're part of the communities. So how do
- 1:42:31Speaker 2: you like your steak?
- 1:42:33Speaker 14: Medium?
- 1:42:33Speaker 2: Medium? Medium? Medium? Medium? Favorite pizza topping meets a meat
- 1:42:38Speaker 2: lovers all the way, mellow mushroom. When your day's gone terrible,
- 1:42:42Speaker 2: you go home. You think I'm gonna throw an album on?
- 1:42:44Speaker 2: What is that album that kind of brings you new? Okay,
- 1:42:47Speaker 2: either the Eagles, Hotel California, but more likely on a
- 1:42:50Speaker 2: bad day, probably Steely Dan Asia. Dude, you know that one? Yeah?
- 1:42:54Speaker 2: I mean every song on that album I have listened
- 1:42:57Speaker 2: to a million times AI or no way, I I mean,
- 1:43:03Speaker 2: I'm gonna say no, but it is a useful tool.
- 1:43:06Speaker 2: I hate to say it. I hate to say that.
- 1:43:09Speaker 2: You're right. It's kind of like saying, do you drink
- 1:43:11Speaker 2: when you're pastors in the room? Like not really? But okay,
- 1:43:15Speaker 2: how do you feel about rebel flags? How do you
- 1:43:17Speaker 2: feel about bulls and abortion? Now? Yeah, let's how much
- 1:43:20Speaker 2: time do we have? I got you don't worry? Can
- 1:43:23Speaker 2: you kill the next break I'll throw?
- 1:43:33Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 1:43:33Speaker 2: But now we'll get into the war with a wrong
- 1:43:37Speaker 2: favorite movie. Favorite movie Moneyball, that's good, but it's happening.
- 1:43:46Speaker 2: I'm gonna make you. I either get a hell yeah
- 1:43:49Speaker 2: on Moneyball or what's that Star Wars, Lord of the
- 1:43:54Speaker 2: Rings or the Bad Boys trilogy star Wars because it's
- 1:43:58Speaker 2: the only of the three I'm familiar with. I never
- 1:44:00Speaker 2: read or watched Lord of the Rings. Well, I never
- 1:44:02Speaker 2: read Bad Boys either, but Yeah is also great too.
- 1:44:08Speaker 2: I didn't even know Bad Boys was a book. Yeah,
- 1:44:10Speaker 2: aren't you. I'm really relieved. I'm actually like, Wow, I'm
- 1:44:13Speaker 2: not as boring as I thought, because you're asking all
- 1:44:15Speaker 2: these right questions. I appreciate most of the news guys
- 1:44:17Speaker 2: coming here. We've already had them out of here, and
- 1:44:19Speaker 2: you're like, I've already left immediately, like you be walking
- 1:44:24Speaker 2: and see the bottle of whiskey. Though this is not
- 1:44:25Speaker 2: for me. I'm at all which sport and or professional team? Okay, football,
- 1:44:30Speaker 2: but college football. I don't know you. I'm a huge
- 1:44:34Speaker 2: Bamba fan, of course, but I'm saying what pro was
- 1:44:36Speaker 2: weird for you? Guys? It was either like Nashville or Atlanta,
- 1:44:39Speaker 2: and neither one was really that exciting to me growing
- 1:44:41Speaker 2: up you know what I mean. Yea, the Saints. I
- 1:44:43Speaker 2: guess my dad's from Indiana. We went to a bunch
- 1:44:46Speaker 2: of Indianapolis Colts games when I was a kid, when
- 1:44:47Speaker 2: Peyton was still playing for them, so I'd say the Colts.
- 1:44:50Speaker 2: But I feel like, you know, it's I go once
- 1:44:52Speaker 2: a year at Christmas to see family. That's about it. Yeah,
- 1:44:55Speaker 2: so well, buddy, listen, man, it's been a good time.
- 1:44:57Speaker 2: But by the way, you enjoyed it. Do you have
- 1:44:58Speaker 2: any uh any new guy stuff over there? If you
- 1:45:00Speaker 2: run in any new guy stuff at Fox? And I
- 1:45:02Speaker 2: haven't even any any uh any any hazing. Yeah, I
- 1:45:05Speaker 2: think this is the extent of the hazing so far.
- 1:45:08Speaker 2: I'll let you know, though, I gotta come back because
- 1:45:10Speaker 2: I don't. I have not been in the building except

- 1:49:03Speaker 2: all right, James, is a real easy game. But I
- 1:49:07Speaker 2: got a question here for you. Four answers. One of
- 1:49:09Speaker 2: these answers is not true, James. But if you can
- 1:49:12Speaker 2: find it, I almost send you over to see Jacket.
- 1:49:13Speaker 2: He's got some cool stuff. You can find something nice
- 1:49:15Speaker 2: for yourself. Are you ready? Here we go, buddy, on
- 1:49:19Speaker 2: this day in nineteen fifty five, Oscar winning actor, writer,
- 1:49:23Speaker 2: and director. He's also a singer songwriter. Considered quite eccentric,
- 1:49:29Speaker 2: has an incredible filmography and massive television success as well.
- 1:49:34Speaker 2: Was married to a Hollywood goddess. Oh he just shot
- 1:49:41Speaker 2: up Jack Daniels, Tommy Lee, Joe. He danced at a
- 1:49:45Speaker 2: monsters ball. No, he's a bad Santa. That's right. Billy
- 1:49:50Speaker 2: Bob Thornton was born on this day. Here are three
- 1:49:53Speaker 2: fun pacts about Billy Bob Thornton, and one sling blade
- 1:49:57Speaker 2: of a lie. All right, buddy, here we go. What's
- 1:50:00Speaker 2: going on, James? What's going on? James? I just pulled
- 1:50:03Speaker 2: up to football practice? All right, all right, all right,
- 1:50:06Speaker 2: all right, but we're talking about Billy Bob Thornton. Which
- 1:50:07Speaker 2: one of these is not true? Number one, he's been
- 1:50:10Speaker 2: married six times. Number two he exclusively wears size six
- 1:50:15Speaker 2: women's jeans because they fit his skinny legs better. Number three,
- 1:50:20Speaker 2: his daughter Amanda Brumfield was convicted to twenty years in
- 1:50:23Speaker 2: prison for manslaughter. Or lastly, he was told early in
- 1:50:27Speaker 2: his career that he was too short and too Southern
- 1:50:29Speaker 2: to be a leading man. Which one of those is
- 1:50:31Speaker 2: a lie. Ah man, Let's go with the third one
- 1:50:35Speaker 2: by his daughter. No, that's absolutely true. His daughter, Amanda
- 1:50:39Speaker 2: Brumfield was convicted of manslaughter and was sentenced to twenty
- 1:50:43Speaker 2: years in prison. Ross one, three, four or five? I'm
- 1:50:48Speaker 2: gonna go three? Three sounds good? That is Patrick? Patrick?
- 1:50:51Speaker 2: How you doing spongebowl?
- 1:50:53Speaker 12: Hey?
- 1:50:54Speaker 2: Hi?
- 1:50:54Speaker 11: Guys.
- 1:50:54Speaker 2: Hey even better, Hey, Patrick, Hey, but if we're talking
- 1:50:58Speaker 2: about Billy Bob Thornton, which one of these is not true?
- 1:51:01Speaker 2: Number one he's been married six times. Number two he
- 1:51:04Speaker 2: exclusively wears size six women's jeans because they fit his
- 1:51:08Speaker 2: skinny legs better. Or lastly, he was told early in
- 1:51:10Speaker 2: his career that he was too short and too Southern
- 1:51:13Speaker 2: to be in movies. Let's go Number two. No, that's
- 1:51:17Speaker 2: absolutely true. He does exclusively wear size six women's jeans, wo,
- 1:51:22Speaker 2: because men's jeans are too baggy for his skinny, little
- 1:51:26Speaker 2: chicken legs. Do you think you found that out accidentally?
- 1:51:32Speaker 7: I like him?
- 1:51:33Speaker 2: You probably on Joelie's Yeah, yeah, yeah, all right, Ross one,
- 1:51:37Speaker 2: four or five? I'm gonna go five. Five sounds good.
- 1:51:40Speaker 2: Let's go to Andy. Andy, how are you? I'm doing great?
- 1:51:43Speaker 6: Thank you?
- 1:51:43Speaker 2: All right, buddy, we're talking about Billy Bob Thornton. You
- 1:51:46Speaker 2: got a fifty to fifty shot here? Which one of
- 1:51:48Speaker 2: these is not true? Number one he's been married six times?
- 1:51:51Speaker 2: Or lastly, he was told early in his career that
- 1:51:53Speaker 2: he was too short and too Southern to be in movies.
- 1:51:57Speaker 2: See that's the one. Hey, hey, buddy, can you tell me.
- 1:52:02Speaker 2: What a very famous film producer did tell him about
- 1:52:06Speaker 2: him being in movies. He was too what probably too Southern,
- 1:52:10Speaker 2: too ugly, he was too ugly. That dude looked at
- 1:52:13Speaker 2: the faces, dog, you are too ugly to be in movies.
- 1:52:17Speaker 2: Find something else. And he actually told him to start writing.
- 1:52:19Speaker 2: And here's where that kind of turned. When he was
- 1:52:21Speaker 2: told by this producer, look, man, you're too ugly to
- 1:52:24Speaker 2: be in movies. You're too ugly to be a leading man.
- 1:52:26Speaker 2: What you need to do is go right, can you write?
- 1:52:28Speaker 2: He goes, yeah, So he went and wrote sling Blade
- 1:52:31Speaker 2: and then went an Oscar made the character ugly and
- 1:52:35Speaker 2: he perfectly. A couple other things you may not know
- 1:52:37Speaker 2: about Billy Bob Thornton will get to the top of
- 1:52:39Speaker 2: the hour. Here we get some ross thoughts coming up.
- 1:52:41Speaker 2: We also have It's only money coming up with their
- 1:52:43Speaker 2: buddy Scott Brown. In high school, he was a standout
- 1:52:46Speaker 2: in what sport? Track and field? Lacrosse? Baseball is the answer.
- 1:52:51Speaker 2: He was a pitcher in a pretty darn good first
- 1:52:52Speaker 2: baseman as well. Actually went I think he tried out
- 1:52:54Speaker 2: for the Royals. Really yeah. At one point his nickname
- 1:52:58Speaker 2: in Hollywood is the hillbilly of this person, in other words,
- 1:53:03Speaker 2: a person was very instrumental in helping movies get to
- 1:53:07Speaker 2: a next level. And they call him the hillbilly version
- 1:53:09Speaker 2: of this hill Billy Brando now Hillbilly Newman, hillbilly or
- 1:53:16Speaker 2: Sion Wells by Orson Wells. That's what Robert Duval called him.
- 1:53:20Speaker 2: And then lastly here he has a B negative blood.
- 1:53:25Speaker 2: Do you know why that's important? It's rare, it's very
- 1:53:28Speaker 2: very rare. You're the blood guy, Jack. What percentage of
- 1:53:30Speaker 2: Americans are a B negative point point six one half
- 1:53:36Speaker 2: of one percent of Americans? Or a B negative blood? There,
- 1:53:39Speaker 2: Billy Bob Thornton is any the lead of like a
- 1:53:42Speaker 2: hit show right now, like where you like, yeah, land
- 1:53:46Speaker 2: Man is. And it's crazy because you know he Billy Bob.
- 1:53:50Speaker 2: I think the thing that Billy Bob does. He has
- 1:53:52Speaker 2: a very Clint Eastwood esque kind of thing about him. Yeah,
- 1:53:55Speaker 2: Like he doesn't say a whole bunch and he's like
- 1:53:58Speaker 2: five eight and weighs like one hundred and thirty. Yeah,
- 1:54:00Speaker 2: but somehow, some way comes off as a horrifying human being.
- 1:54:05Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, like a badass. Yeah yeah, this dude can
- 1:54:07Speaker 2: this guy can portray somebody you think can do the
- 1:54:10Speaker 2: worst things ever. And I still think Bad Santa is
- 1:54:12Speaker 2: one of the best dark comedies of all time. Being
- 1:54:15Speaker 2: ugly has its privilege, Yes, it sure does. All right thoughts,
- 1:54:18Speaker 2: Oh my goodness. So I know that there is a
- 1:54:21Speaker 2: lot of negative talk about AI right now, But I
- 1:54:24Speaker 2: have a question that I am curious if you guys
- 1:54:28Speaker 2: are also with me, it might be a generational thing.
- 1:54:31Speaker 2: I don't want to play that card, but it could
- 1:54:33Speaker 2: be My question for you and the entire audience right now?
- 1:54:37Speaker 2: What do you do differently because of something you saw
- 1:54:41Speaker 2: on the internet? Like do you cook the egg? Great question?
- 1:54:44Speaker 2: You cook eggs differently because of one thing that you
- 1:54:46Speaker 2: saw that spun out and got one hundred and twenty
- 1:54:49Speaker 2: thousand likes? And when it's not just that as a
- 1:54:51Speaker 2: topic for today's rostots, when it comes to technology, Jim,
- 1:54:55Speaker 2: did you know that there's a robot slur?
- 1:54:59Speaker 4: No?
- 1:54:59Speaker 2: There's not, is there really? After the break? Very nice,
- 1:55:02Speaker 2: let's take a little break. We'll come back fresh. Keyword
- 1:55:03Speaker 2: for you right now? What did you colvert Crewe? You
- 1:55:10Speaker 2: do you've every team back in the village of Duvall
- 1:55:15Speaker 2: in my sore throat kind of makes me sound like
- 1:55:17Speaker 2: Louis Art's strong.
- 1:55:18Speaker 4: Now today we raise a beer finally to the US
- 1:55:22Speaker 4: Coast Guard Snashville, US Coastguard Day, founded today in seventeen
- 1:55:27Speaker 4: ninety two hundred and thirty.
- 1:55:28Speaker 2: Six years ago. Thank y'all for your service. Have good
- 1:55:32Speaker 2: joe y'all peace. Thanks buddy, appreciate it very much. Your
- 1:55:35Speaker 2: six o'clock keyword is credit cre D. I t take
- 1:55:40Speaker 2: it over to you real radio dot if him and
- 1:55:42Speaker 2: send that away for your chance at one thousand dollars credit. Guys,
- 1:55:45Speaker 2: that is your six o'clock keyword. Good luck, Welcome back.
- 1:55:49Speaker 2: I'm Jim. There's Jack By that Ross is here as well.
- 1:55:52Speaker 2: It's true and he has some thoughts. Let's get him.
- 1:55:55Speaker 1: It's weird birds, it's funny. It's not just Scucci mat
- 1:55:58Speaker 1: sometimes it's also it's rost spelled like sauce.
- 1:56:04Speaker 2: End result. It's ross. Thought of Mills Air. If you
- 1:56:07Speaker 2: call Mills Are, You're gonna be having yourself a Gucci
- 1:56:10Speaker 2: man bird by the end of the day. If you
- 1:56:13Speaker 2: have an AC unit that needs help repair, if you
- 1:56:16Speaker 2: have any questions when it comes to air conditioning, Mills
- 1:56:19Speaker 2: Air and that's what I did. I have a bullet
- 1:56:21Speaker 2: proof carryer unit in my backyard. Not a single hiccup.
- 1:56:25Speaker 2: It's been years. I do not regret calling them and
- 1:56:28Speaker 2: you won't either now, al Jim, Yes, this is where
- 1:56:33Speaker 2: I'm going with. You know, like everyone is ripping on AI,
- 1:56:37Speaker 2: and you know what, rightfully so, because it's the toothpaste
- 1:56:41Speaker 2: is out. It feels very Pandora's boxing and we're the
- 1:56:44Speaker 2: infancy of it, just the beginning. It's not even hit puberty.
- 1:56:48Speaker 2: It doesn't even have hairs down there, and here it
- 1:56:51Speaker 2: is being I didn't know if that's appropriate or not
- 1:56:55Speaker 2: or not, but whatever. Well, like we're still on the
- 1:56:58Speaker 2: genesis of it. And it's got me thinking like, well,
- 1:57:01Speaker 2: you know, I fell in love with the Internet, and
- 1:57:04Speaker 2: how different is the Internet versus AI. You always hear Internet,
- 1:57:08Speaker 2: you always hear AI. Now the two streams are always crossing.
- 1:57:11Speaker 2: But it got me thinking, like, I remember back in
- 1:57:14Speaker 2: twenty twelve when things seemed a little bit more wholesome,
- 1:57:16Speaker 2: before we got to this toxic AI nonsense. I remember
- 1:57:21Speaker 2: my friends using the Internet and bettering themselves off of
- 1:57:25Speaker 2: things that they have seen. Sure, and I asked the
- 1:57:28Speaker 2: listeners and you guys the same question, what do you
- 1:57:33Speaker 2: do differently off of something that you saw on the internet. Example,
- 1:57:39Speaker 2: I will never clean my bedroom fan the same exact way.
- 1:57:44Speaker 2: Oh really, Oh would you learn because I have some
- 1:57:46Speaker 2: dusty fans. If you have some dusty fans, now to me,
- 1:57:49Speaker 2: you gotta unplug it. I'm not talking ceiling. Oh never mind,
- 1:57:53Speaker 2: all right, dude, But if you can unplug the fan.
- 1:57:56Speaker 2: You got one of those cool vertical fans that look
- 1:57:59Speaker 2: like a sci fi tap. Oh yeah, yeah, I got
- 1:58:01Speaker 2: one of those. You got one of those, unplug it,
- 1:58:04Speaker 2: pull it outside, grab your leaf blower, rip it. Oh yeah,
- 1:58:10Speaker 2: and then you just see this thanose snap dust just
- 1:58:15Speaker 2: leave the back of that fan. And it's one of
- 1:58:17Speaker 2: the most effective, most efficient things that I think the
- 1:58:20Speaker 2: internet has taught me.
- 1:58:21Speaker 4: Yea.
- 1:58:22Speaker 2: Now do I think that's worth the trade of all
- 1:58:25Speaker 2: of my data? Probably not. You could probably figure the
- 1:58:30Speaker 2: fan thing out the end of time. Or what about
- 1:58:33Speaker 2: the cool bread egg flip I've heard about when you
- 1:58:37Speaker 2: cut a hole in the bread and all that. Oh yeah,
- 1:58:39Speaker 2: but what happens when you put the egg right there
- 1:58:41Speaker 2: and then you put the bread on top and then
- 1:58:44Speaker 2: you flip it, making the entire sandwich. That's right, You
- 1:58:47Speaker 2: see what I'm talking about that one's good or how
- 1:58:50Speaker 2: about this is kind of just more cooking stuff. But
- 1:58:53Speaker 2: if you take out the egg yolk and then cook
- 1:58:56Speaker 2: the egg white a little bit before, and then you
- 1:58:58Speaker 2: put the egg yolk on top of the egg white,
- 1:59:00Speaker 2: and then you have this like cartoonish Doctor Seuss looking
- 1:59:03Speaker 2: egg and it tastes great. Wow, really, well, look at that?
- 1:59:06Speaker 2: Did I know that one? Do you guys have anything
- 1:59:08Speaker 2: that you've seen on the Internet that has changed the
- 1:59:11Speaker 2: trajectory of your like daily actions. Well, most of the
- 1:59:14Speaker 2: things I repair, it's always a visit to YouTube University.
- 1:59:18Speaker 2: So I've done so much more around my house because
- 1:59:21Speaker 2: of the availability of the Internet and to see other
- 1:59:25Speaker 2: videos of people doing it. But there is one thing
- 1:59:27Speaker 2: I picked up and I remember deb saw it on
- 1:59:30Speaker 2: TikTok Deborah and she mentioned it on the air and
- 1:59:33Speaker 2: then I'm like, huh, I tried that. And it's putting
- 1:59:37Speaker 2: your can liner in your garbage can backwards. So I
- 1:59:42Speaker 2: used to like a kitchen garbage hand. Let's call it
- 1:59:44Speaker 2: a thirty three gallon gap stereotypical trash. Yeah, you take it,
- 1:59:48Speaker 2: you kind of peel it apart, you shake it out,
- 1:59:50Speaker 2: you get air in it. Then you drop it in
- 1:59:52Speaker 2: and you put the top over it. But what I
- 1:59:54Speaker 2: learned was from that is you don't actually do that.
- 1:59:57Speaker 2: You you just take the opening, you put it over
- 1:59:59Speaker 2: the top, and then you push down through the bag
- 2:00:03Speaker 2: and it lines the can. Yeah, and it actually makes
- 2:00:05Speaker 2: it inside out because there aren't they made inside out
- 2:00:07Speaker 2: to do it that way for that reason. Yea. And
- 2:00:09Speaker 2: I never knew that, but learn that from the internet.
- 2:00:12Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 2:00:12Speaker 2: Yeah. Another big thing that I learned from the internet
- 2:00:15Speaker 2: that was talking about your toothpaste when you brush your teeth,
- 2:00:19Speaker 2: and a lot of people go ahead and rinse out
- 2:00:21Speaker 2: their mouth immediately after I did that all the time.
- 2:00:24Speaker 2: Not supposed to do that. Are not supposed to do that? Yeah,
- 2:00:27Speaker 2: I still don't the whole reason why there's like fluoride
- 2:00:30Speaker 2: and that wipening that that cleaning solution, that is what
- 2:00:34Speaker 2: the toothpaste is. You're supposed to leave that that mixture
- 2:00:37Speaker 2: of your saliva and toothpaste in your mouth as it keeps,
- 2:00:40Speaker 2: you know, putting in that overtime. But Jim, I'm curious, dude,
- 2:00:44Speaker 2: what your algorithm has taught you. Well, it used to
- 2:00:47Speaker 2: be a back to front wiper. Oh yeah, you gotta
- 2:00:56Speaker 2: stop sharing some of those videos. Then I saw this
- 2:00:59Speaker 2: one things. No, I was just joking. Look, I gotta
- 2:01:04Speaker 2: tell you to be honest with you. Probably about five
- 2:01:07Speaker 2: years ago, I was struggling so bad with my golf
- 2:01:10Speaker 2: game that I literally went to YouTube University to try
- 2:01:13Speaker 2: to figure it out. And the reason I started playing
- 2:01:15Speaker 2: way better and started, you know, got my handicapped really low,
- 2:01:18Speaker 2: is because of YouTube. I'll tell you something else too.
- 2:01:21Speaker 2: When I used to make meat load for meat balls,
- 2:01:23Speaker 2: I never used to soak my bread crumbs in milk
- 2:01:27Speaker 2: before I found out online. It makes it way better.
- 2:01:30Speaker 2: And now I made I made salisbury steaks last night
- 2:01:33Speaker 2: for dinner, and we soaked those bread crumbs in milk
- 2:01:36Speaker 2: to make it way way better. That way, it doesn't
- 2:01:38Speaker 2: soak up all the juice from your hammer or your
- 2:01:40Speaker 2: hammerger meat. It keeps it in there. It keeps them
- 2:01:42Speaker 2: nice and juicy, and the milk releases in there and
- 2:01:45Speaker 2: gives it this beautiful, silky texture. So I didn't do
- 2:01:48Speaker 2: that beforehand. Real quick, when did you make that? You
- 2:01:51Speaker 2: said last night for dinner. You only get home seven thirty.
- 2:01:54Speaker 2: Do you make it in the daytime? No, I made
- 2:01:56Speaker 2: it last night when I got home. Really yeah, I
- 2:01:58Speaker 2: told you guys are eating or at eight o'clock eight thirty.
- 2:02:01Speaker 2: It was eight eight fifteen eight thirty last night. For that,
- 2:02:04Speaker 2: it comes together pretty quick because everything is kind of
- 2:02:06Speaker 2: done in the oven. So it wasn't that bad. And
- 2:02:08Speaker 2: he is a thing for food. Nothing stops. Yeah, man,
- 2:02:12Speaker 2: I've learned a lot of stuff like that online. I
- 2:02:14Speaker 2: mean a lot of the house repair stuff that I
- 2:02:16Speaker 2: couldn't figure out on my own. I will go to
- 2:02:17Speaker 2: YouTube University and learn it there. And that's a great
- 2:02:20Speaker 2: balance to have when it comes to technology. But I
- 2:02:23Speaker 2: think we have crossed the line when it comes to technology, Jim.
- 2:02:28Speaker 2: We talked about it on this week's Tomorrow's ninth Tomorrow's
- 2:02:32Speaker 2: episode of Good Sauce. There is a derogatory term right
- 2:02:35Speaker 2: now for robots and AI. I much rather just use
- 2:02:40Speaker 2: the internet to be like, oh I cooked my eggs differently,
- 2:02:43Speaker 2: And now AI has a slur. So, in other words,
- 2:02:47Speaker 2: whatever you learn from AI is this. No, isn't it
- 2:02:51Speaker 2: AI slot? No, that's not the slur. No, there's there's
- 2:02:54Speaker 2: a slur. And actually I believe it derives from Star Wars.
- 2:02:57Speaker 2: I don't even know if we can say it. Oh, well,
- 2:03:03Speaker 2: the very First Star Wars fingers on the dumb button. Yeah,
- 2:03:07Speaker 2: I don't. Well, here's the thing. It might dump itself.
- 2:03:12Speaker 2: Dun dun, dun, dun dune. I'm at a loss. Are
- 2:03:17Speaker 2: you right? Can I say it? Yeah? Are you ready
- 2:03:20Speaker 2: for it? Yeah? Clanker, clanker, Oh, that's a clanker. Clanker
- 2:03:26Speaker 2: is the new derogatory term that I believe will stick
- 2:03:30Speaker 2: with humanity when the revolution happens. Oh is clanker a
- 2:03:34Speaker 2: new term for robots and artificial intelligence? Okay, so that's
- 2:03:39Speaker 2: the new derogate. It's the it's the R word. Let
- 2:03:42Speaker 2: me help you with this real quick. That Jack and
- 2:03:43Speaker 2: my ward, am I on the right thing here? Back
- 2:03:46Speaker 2: in the day, if you that was a clunker hmmm yeah,
- 2:03:51Speaker 2: Because if you've got a piece of machinery that did
- 2:03:53Speaker 2: not work back in the day, you just called it
- 2:03:54Speaker 2: a clunker. Hey, that's a clunker. Yeah, it did not work.
- 2:03:58Speaker 2: And that's your is with like it says c like.
- 2:04:03Speaker 2: It spells it with a cy, but you can't spell
- 2:04:05Speaker 2: it with a K. But is a spine term for robots.
- 2:04:09Speaker 2: Look at that. I did not know that. I'll be damn.
- 2:04:12Speaker 2: It's a derogatory term for robots and artificial intelligence. This
- 2:04:15Speaker 2: is kind of new wish ak. I heard it from
- 2:04:19Speaker 2: a sixteen year old and then I looked it up
- 2:04:21Speaker 2: and I was like, oh my god, I'd be damned.
- 2:04:23Speaker 12: Wow.
- 2:04:24Speaker 2: They've evolved, Wow, to the point of they are getting
- 2:04:27Speaker 2: their feelings hurt. Jim, they got feelings now. Well, if
- 2:04:32Speaker 2: it's a derogatory term, I would think it is.
- 2:04:34Speaker 8: Ye.
- 2:04:34Speaker 2: Yeah, So I just wish I know I'm getting older,
- 2:04:39Speaker 2: because I just wish technology would go back to the
- 2:04:41Speaker 2: way when I liked it, Well you liked it was
- 2:04:46Speaker 2: like eight years ago, I know. Yeah, but now we
- 2:04:48Speaker 2: can't even say clinker. Yeah, Clinker's fine. Look, if you
- 2:04:53Speaker 2: have a bad I mean, look, I think that fits perfectly.
- 2:04:55Speaker 2: It's fine in twenty twenty six, but in twenty forty eight,
- 2:04:58Speaker 2: when all of a sudden you got a DZ knocking
- 2:05:00Speaker 2: on your front door. I'm just saying, but those are
- 2:05:03Speaker 2: your ross thoughts. We should be able to Yeah, you're right, Jim,
- 2:05:06Speaker 2: I needed the wind underneath my wings. I will say
- 2:05:09Speaker 2: clanker with my chest out. You do it because we
- 2:05:12Speaker 2: are humans and we get to say that. Also, air
- 2:05:15Speaker 2: blow your fans. It's it's awesome. Those are e Ross thoughts.
- 2:05:19Speaker 2: I'm out peace. Thank you Mills. Thanks Mills, appreciate that
- 2:05:22Speaker 2: for us seven nine one, six four one. Don't forget
- 2:05:24Speaker 2: your six o'clock keyword his credit. That's c R E D.
- 2:05:27Speaker 2: I T slide over to your real radio dot FM
- 2:05:30Speaker 2: and send that away for your chance at one thousand bucks.
- 2:05:31Speaker 2: Take a little break and we'll come back and do.
- 2:05:32Speaker 2: It's only money with everybody. Scott Brown from Edgewater Family Wealth.
- 2:05:40Speaker 17: I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say
- 2:05:43Speaker 17: it's a clanker. Was from a Christmas story when the
- 2:05:47Speaker 17: old man was fighting with this furnace. I believe he
- 2:05:52Speaker 17: said it's a clanker. Y'all can look it up, but
- 2:05:56Speaker 17: I believe that one of the first times I ever
- 2:05:59Speaker 17: heard that around a long time ago.
- 2:06:03Speaker 2: You're six o'clock keyword is credit cre D it. Just
- 2:06:07Speaker 2: move your body over to real radio dot FM and
- 2:06:10Speaker 2: send that away from your chance at one thousand dollars. Guys, remember,
- 2:06:13Speaker 2: if you're playing this game at any given time, keep
- 2:06:16Speaker 2: your phone on, keep it turned on, keep it turned up,
- 2:06:18Speaker 2: and keep it near you. You can't imagine the horror
- 2:06:21Speaker 2: stories we've heard over many years of doing these contests
- 2:06:24Speaker 2: and people just go into the bathroom and getting the
- 2:06:26Speaker 2: call while they're gone that quickly, just go to get
- 2:06:28Speaker 2: something to drink and the call comes. They will not
- 2:06:31Speaker 2: call you back, So make sure you keep that thing
- 2:06:33Speaker 2: near and answer it when it rings. That's how you win.
- 2:06:36Speaker 2: I'm Jim. There's Jacky Ross is here as well. Save money,
- 2:06:40Speaker 2: let's do. It's only money. So people passionate about planning
- 2:06:45Speaker 2: for the future, rise above investments missed to build. Isn't
- 2:06:52Speaker 2: that really just common sense financial advice?
- 2:06:54Speaker 6: It's a.
- 2:06:56Speaker 2: Oh okay, dude's all money wiscott thrown on the edge,
- 2:07:06Speaker 2: really really well thought com This place is full of
- 2:07:09Speaker 2: bros today. It's like a giant sausage party. And what
- 2:07:12Speaker 2: did you do with that bro?
- 2:07:13Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 2:07:14Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, she's gone, but she's out of here. She's
- 2:07:16Speaker 2: on vacation. Don't panic people. Yeah, she'll be fine. Everything's good.
- 2:07:20Speaker 2: She needs vacation time. She won't take it on her own.
- 2:07:22Speaker 2: And she even felt bad about taking today off. She
- 2:07:24Speaker 2: had to kick her out. Yeah, I'm serious. I'm dead serious.
- 2:07:27Speaker 2: She has a hard time taking time off. I literally
- 2:07:29Speaker 2: throw her out of the building. Yet I have no
- 2:07:30Speaker 2: such issues. Ye, I do not have that issue as well.
- 2:07:34Speaker 2: I believe if you'd let I'm good good, life changed
- 2:07:38Speaker 2: very much for you lately. It did.
- 2:07:40Speaker 11: I may have had a grand show. It was my
- 2:07:41Speaker 11: very first. It was really The labor was no problem
- 2:07:44Speaker 11: for me. I got to tell you a lot of
- 2:07:45Speaker 11: people ask and I'm fine. She didn't feel anything. I
- 2:07:50Speaker 11: watched TV most of the it. Yeah, yeah, no, everybody's good.
- 2:07:53Speaker 11: My daughter in law did great, my son's doing great.
- 2:07:56Speaker 11: Your wife just is a gog. She's she's out of
- 2:07:58Speaker 11: her mind. She wants to hold that child twenty four
- 2:08:00Speaker 11: to seven or stare at it. But yeah, no, it's
- 2:08:04Speaker 11: it's as a grand and my first time I being
- 2:08:06Speaker 11: a grandparent, and I gotta tell you I'm up for
- 2:08:08Speaker 11: the task.
- 2:08:08Speaker 2: Yeah it's pretty cool, man. I love being a grandparent.
- 2:08:11Speaker 2: My my grandson is the greatest. We every single day
- 2:08:14Speaker 2: of my life, I get the nuzzles, a little neck.
- 2:08:16Speaker 2: He just an absolute nugget. I love him. I cannot wait.
- 2:08:19Speaker 2: I told him last night, I'm looking at him.
- 2:08:20Speaker 4: Due.
- 2:08:20Speaker 2: I canno wait till you're like eighteen months. Dog. We're
- 2:08:23Speaker 2: gonna watch so many cartoons, We're gonna rip so many
- 2:08:25Speaker 2: wedges in the front yard. I'm gonna have a set
- 2:08:27Speaker 2: for him, already set up. You have no idea?
- 2:08:29Speaker 11: Yeah, I mean I have a granddaughter and I'm already like,
- 2:08:32Speaker 11: where's the pony store because I'm gonna buy I'm gonna
- 2:08:34Speaker 11: buy three of those suckers and every color a house.
- 2:08:37Speaker 2: Yeah, well, I got a pasture off front.
- 2:08:39Speaker 11: We'll do my I mean, my son has like, you know,
- 2:08:41Speaker 11: a fifty by sixty backyard, but I'm sure two ponies
- 2:08:44Speaker 11: will fit back there and nice, very nice, real quick.
- 2:08:46Speaker 2: Before we get into the segment, we did have a
- 2:08:48Speaker 2: change with this live event coming up in a couple
- 2:08:50Speaker 2: of weeks. Explain everybody what's going on. Yeah, so we
- 2:08:51Speaker 2: kind of.
- 2:08:52Speaker 11: Messed up and had a little bit of a conflict,
- 2:08:54Speaker 11: so we've changed the day till a little bit later. Also,
- 2:08:56Speaker 11: that's great because more people can come. But we're looking
- 2:08:58Speaker 11: at Ruce Chris and Lake Mary for the Everything four
- 2:09:01Speaker 11: oh one k event that we did here in winter
- 2:09:03Speaker 11: Park that was so well attended and I think people
- 2:09:06Speaker 11: really enjoyed. So that again is in Lake Mary at
- 2:09:08Speaker 11: Rus Chris on nine to twenty six September twenty sixth,
- 2:09:12Speaker 11: at twelve o'clock, you can go to Edgewater Family wealth
- 2:09:15Speaker 11: in the drop down and sign up for that very nice,
- 2:09:17Speaker 11: and it's free of charge. It is free of charge.
- 2:09:20Speaker 11: They'll be serving steaks and chickens and such and it'll
- 2:09:22Speaker 11: be be good eats. But that event is really good
- 2:09:25Speaker 11: because the one thing that most people have is access
- 2:09:29Speaker 11: to a four oh one K, And even if they
- 2:09:30Speaker 11: don't have a four to one K, they may have
- 2:09:31Speaker 11: an IRA or something that looks similar to it. And
- 2:09:34Speaker 11: so many people we do a lot of four oh
- 2:09:36Speaker 11: one k's here in town, and I'm often surprised at
- 2:09:39Speaker 11: how little information people get about their own four oh
- 2:09:42Speaker 11: one k R. I said, well, how does the match work?
- 2:09:44Speaker 2: And do I got? How long do I got to
- 2:09:45Speaker 2: be there? And is it ninety days? Is it a year?
- 2:09:47Speaker 2: What does that mean? Tax implication? AAX? And when do
- 2:09:50Speaker 2: I get it out? Is it fifty nine and a half?
- 2:09:51Speaker 6: Oh?
- 2:09:52Speaker 11: By the way, at fifty five and a four to
- 2:09:53Speaker 11: one K you can extract funds without tax penalties. So
- 2:09:55Speaker 11: a lot of people don't know things like that, Should
- 2:09:58Speaker 11: I do the megabackdoor rotha ira?
- 2:10:00Speaker 2: Kind of? Should I do ira at all? Can I
- 2:10:02Speaker 2: do a roth ira right in my four one k?
- 2:10:05Speaker 11: There's I mean, there's literally dozens and dozens of questions
- 2:10:09Speaker 11: that the average person here they sign up for their
- 2:10:10Speaker 11: four on K. When they get the job, they're like, yeah,
- 2:10:12Speaker 11: give me three percent or two percent or whatever it is,
- 2:10:14Speaker 11: and then ever look at it again, other than when
- 2:10:16Speaker 11: the market's doing poorly and then they get upset and
- 2:10:18Speaker 11: get out, which is also something we talk about and
- 2:10:21Speaker 11: we're going to talk about a little bit today.
- 2:10:22Speaker 2: Yeah. Greg actually had a really good segment last week
- 2:10:25Speaker 2: and was super informative. Doesn't shocked me because he's unbelievably informed.
- 2:10:29Speaker 2: He's also a very good communicator as well. And we
- 2:10:32Speaker 2: at the very end when he mentioned what the what
- 2:10:34Speaker 2: the focus of the event coming up in September was about,
- 2:10:37Speaker 2: I was like, well, that's great news because I know
- 2:10:40Speaker 2: so many people that have so many great questions, including myself.
- 2:10:42Speaker 2: Jack said he went to one last year and said
- 2:10:44Speaker 2: it was one of the best things he ever did. Absolutely,
- 2:10:46Speaker 2: and you're right, he does explain it to you, so
- 2:10:49Speaker 2: he can take something complicated and make it a lot
- 2:10:52Speaker 2: easier to understand. So that's what I really appreciated. Yeah,
- 2:10:56Speaker 2: very good. Let's get into it. Man. It's so funny
- 2:10:58Speaker 2: because the first question you sent over here is can
- 2:11:00Speaker 2: you afford to be a real investor? And what does
- 2:11:05Speaker 2: that mean? Does that mean are you taking Is this
- 2:11:08Speaker 2: a veiled shot at all the dudes that think they're
- 2:11:10Speaker 2: gonna hop online and they trade their way into a ferrari? No,
- 2:11:15Speaker 2: what is this about?
- 2:11:16Speaker 11: Maybe a little bit, but I mean it covers a
- 2:11:18Speaker 11: lot of ground. Well, I was thinking about you know
- 2:11:21Speaker 11: people who get in and out of the market because
- 2:11:23Speaker 11: they panic, and you think, well, well, why are you panicking?
- 2:11:27Speaker 11: Did you literally put your last dollar in? Because and
- 2:11:29Speaker 11: I've said this a thousand times, if you have to
- 2:11:32Speaker 11: be a saver first, right, and if you say, well,
- 2:11:34Speaker 11: I'm gonna put I've saved up one thousand dollars and
- 2:11:37Speaker 11: I'm gonna put it all in the market, whether that
- 2:11:39Speaker 11: be the S and P five hundred of the Dow
- 2:11:41Speaker 11: or a stock or whatever it is, haven't forbid something
- 2:11:43Speaker 11: more aggressive like crypto or memes. And then the market
- 2:11:47Speaker 11: goes south for a minute, because it's always just for
- 2:11:49Speaker 11: a minute and you feel the need to get out,
- 2:11:51Speaker 11: that's because you haven't. You can't afford to be an
- 2:11:55Speaker 11: investor if you have to get out because you're five
- 2:11:57Speaker 11: hundred or your thousand is eight hundred bucks right right.
- 2:12:00Speaker 11: If you you know, if you say well, I've got
- 2:12:03Speaker 11: ten grand and I'm going to invest two and then
- 2:12:05Speaker 11: the market goes south for a minute, twenty percent, thirty percent,
- 2:12:08Speaker 11: whatever the major drop may be, you don't have to
- 2:12:11Speaker 11: get out there. You can afford to wait for the
- 2:12:14Speaker 11: s and P five hundred of the dow or the
- 2:12:16Speaker 11: stock or whatever it is to come back. So I
- 2:12:18Speaker 11: often think a lot of the problems we have today
- 2:12:21Speaker 11: with the people that are buying crypto and buying online
- 2:12:24Speaker 11: and the Robin Hood type stuff where they literally are
- 2:12:27Speaker 11: putting all their money in something and watching it for
- 2:12:29Speaker 11: an hour by hour hoping that the thousand turns into
- 2:12:32Speaker 11: twelve hundreds so that they can do I don't know what, right,
- 2:12:35Speaker 11: But then when it goes to eight hundred, they panic
- 2:12:37Speaker 11: and get out. This is they they couldn't afford. They
- 2:12:41Speaker 11: couldn't afford to be a long term investor. If you
- 2:12:44Speaker 11: think about like Elon Musk, right, you say, well, if
- 2:12:47Speaker 11: I Elon Musk loses, I don't know the hourly amount,
- 2:12:50Speaker 11: but I think it's like five hundred thousand dollars an hour.
- 2:12:52Speaker 11: That's what SpaceX loses, at least in their last reporting
- 2:12:56Speaker 11: in twenty five because they're still investing in their business.
- 2:12:59Speaker 2: Right.
- 2:12:59Speaker 11: But if Musk was couldn't afford to lose five hundred
- 2:13:03Speaker 11: and forty thousand dollars an hour, think of the panic
- 2:13:05Speaker 11: that would ensue at SpaceX. So you have to he
- 2:13:09Speaker 11: can afford because he's nearly a trillionaire. He can afford
- 2:13:12Speaker 11: to lose that money until the time comes when he
- 2:13:15Speaker 11: makes money, right, Yeah, because I mean even right now
- 2:13:17Speaker 11: I think that Stuck is down what from the IPO,
- 2:13:21Speaker 11: it's down about twenty bucks.
- 2:13:23Speaker 2: Yeah, don't you worry about my portfolio. I'll be fine.
- 2:13:26Speaker 2: I'm part owner in this company. And by the way,
- 2:13:29Speaker 2: this this just happened just late last week and early
- 2:13:32Speaker 2: this week. The market in two days in a row,
- 2:13:34Speaker 2: took a four hundred point hit and an eleven hundred
- 2:13:37Speaker 2: point hit. Sure, and then guess what happened the next
- 2:13:39Speaker 2: next three days. It was up five hundred and seventy eight.
- 2:13:42Speaker 2: Yesterday it was up two hundred and seventy eight. Today
- 2:13:43Speaker 2: was up nine hundred points. Well, so it happens all
- 2:13:46Speaker 2: the time.
- 2:13:47Speaker 16: It is.
- 2:13:49Speaker 2: Isn't in a mentality you you really do have to
- 2:13:52Speaker 2: understand that this is a long term investment. You can't
- 2:13:54Speaker 2: watch it hour to hour, day to day to week
- 2:13:56Speaker 2: to week. Even well, you can, but it's foolishness, you
- 2:13:58Speaker 2: know what I mean. Sometimes the client will call me
- 2:14:00Speaker 2: up every month when they get there, something like, what
- 2:14:01Speaker 2: are you doing, man? You're driving yourself insane. I mean
- 2:14:04Speaker 2: it's yeah.
- 2:14:05Speaker 11: I mean, if it without the risk, without the ups
- 2:14:08Speaker 11: and downs, there is no reward. People have to understand that.
- 2:14:11Speaker 11: If you go to the bank and you buy a CD,
- 2:14:13Speaker 11: not that I'm against that, but if you buy a CED,
- 2:14:15Speaker 11: you're gonna get your two or three percent. There is
- 2:14:17Speaker 11: no risk, and that is your reward two or three
- 2:14:20Speaker 11: percent annually. If you want six or seven or eight
- 2:14:23Speaker 11: or nine or ten percent a year, which the markets
- 2:14:25Speaker 11: have brought us historically, you have to put up with
- 2:14:28Speaker 11: the down years. If you don't put up with the
- 2:14:30Speaker 11: down years, you don't get the good years. I was
- 2:14:31Speaker 11: just looking at Berkshire's numbers. Since nineteen eighty four, they
- 2:14:35Speaker 11: have had eleven negative years. We're talking about a stock
- 2:14:39Speaker 11: that's earned like sixteen or seventeen percent a year. But
- 2:14:42Speaker 11: just think if Warren Buffett freaked out in nineteen ninety
- 2:14:45Speaker 11: when it was down twenty that's it. This doesn't work anymore.
- 2:14:48Speaker 11: I'm getting now, like, no, he can afford to lose
- 2:14:51Speaker 11: twenty three percent one year, so that on average he
- 2:14:54Speaker 11: makes seventeen percent coming back to four on one case.
- 2:14:57Speaker 11: That's the biggest issue I have to fight against his
- 2:15:00Speaker 11: the mentality that people have that these are not long
- 2:15:02Speaker 11: term investments. Right, If you're putting one hundred bucks a
- 2:15:04Speaker 11: month into a four oh one K or two or
- 2:15:05Speaker 11: three or four whatever it is, and we go through
- 2:15:08Speaker 11: a year like two thousand and eight, there's a statistic
- 2:15:10Speaker 11: out there. I don't know what it is, but twenty
- 2:15:11Speaker 11: or thirty percent of the population that had a four
- 2:15:13Speaker 11: oh one K stopped contributing in eight, thus squashing their
- 2:15:18Speaker 11: ability to take advantage of the greatest bull market in
- 2:15:20Speaker 11: history over the last fifteen years. So even if you're
- 2:15:24Speaker 11: a four to one K person, you should. You Like,
- 2:15:27Speaker 11: sometimes I'll go in and I'll do a four to
- 2:15:28Speaker 11: one K meeting like the one we're about to do
- 2:15:30Speaker 11: in September. You know, I'll get everybody all excited and
- 2:15:32Speaker 11: they're like, I'm totally in, and then they save every
- 2:15:35Speaker 11: time they have in the four to one cap say
- 2:15:36Speaker 11: who whoa, whoa, whoa WHOA. I know you can afford
- 2:15:40Speaker 11: to save five hundred, but why don't you do three
- 2:15:42Speaker 11: or why don't you do four? Because what I don't
- 2:15:44Speaker 11: want to happen is if something goes wrong in your life,
- 2:15:47Speaker 11: hash poor, you're gonna be. It's so different than me
- 2:15:49Speaker 11: in house poor. Right, yeah, sure, because a four oh
- 2:15:51Speaker 11: one k is not a liquid invest right right, right, right,
- 2:15:53Speaker 11: one hundred percent. Matter of fact, somebody said they went
- 2:15:55Speaker 11: to the four oh one k event last year in
- 2:15:56Speaker 11: Wonder Park, said it was awesome. Ratcher was there, answered
- 2:15:59Speaker 11: so many questions really came through, as well as the
- 2:16:01Speaker 11: entire team. So just just some verification that when we
- 2:16:05Speaker 11: do these things, they turn out quite well for the
- 2:16:07Speaker 11: people who do go there. And if you do want
- 2:16:08Speaker 11: to get your appointment, it's just go to Edgewater Familywealth
- 2:16:11Speaker 11: dot com doesn't cost a nickel, but you've got to
- 2:16:12Speaker 11: reserve your seat. Yeah, these events are fun because the
- 2:16:16Speaker 11: other thing that happens is the events. If you got
- 2:16:17Speaker 11: thirty forty fifty people in a room, everybody's a little
- 2:16:20Speaker 11: reluctant to any questions, and everybody's kind of sitting on
- 2:16:23Speaker 11: their hands thinking they don't want to say something.
- 2:16:24Speaker 2: I don't want to be the guy who says something
- 2:16:26Speaker 2: dumb and everyone's gonna laugh. Oh, look at the idiot.
- 2:16:30Speaker 11: Yeah yeah, And I mean in your case, Jackets, you know, yes.
- 2:16:34Speaker 11: But the reality is the reality is that everybody else
- 2:16:39Speaker 11: has the same question. If your question was, well, you know,
- 2:16:42Speaker 11: how much do I need to save? Or is it
- 2:16:44Speaker 11: tax deferred or is it tax deductible? What's the difference
- 2:16:47Speaker 11: between a roth? And everybody's got these questions. And the
- 2:16:50Speaker 11: funny thing as soon as somebody breaks the seal, then
- 2:16:52Speaker 11: we're into an hour long question and answer period, which
- 2:16:55Speaker 11: for me is my favorite part.
- 2:16:57Speaker 2: Hey, can I ask you? I do want to get
- 2:16:58Speaker 2: to this other thing is I want to know what
- 2:17:00Speaker 2: the gold fallacy is. But do people in certain careers
- 2:17:05Speaker 2: have harder times? Do you find that, like blue collar
- 2:17:08Speaker 2: people who out there grinding it out every day and
- 2:17:10Speaker 2: they're doing this have a have a more conservative way
- 2:17:14Speaker 2: they look at these things, or do you see a
- 2:17:15Speaker 2: difference in careers when it comes to investing.
- 2:17:18Speaker 11: I would say my experience tells me that actually, blue
- 2:17:23Speaker 11: collar folks that are just grinding it out every day,
- 2:17:26Speaker 11: they're actually better at it. And I know that sounds weird,
- 2:17:30Speaker 11: but when you deal with quote unquote white collar profet
- 2:17:33Speaker 11: lawyers or engineers, especially engineers. When you deal with people
- 2:17:37Speaker 11: like that, they are convinced of their own genius and
- 2:17:41Speaker 11: that their gus doctors are notorious for this is that
- 2:17:44Speaker 11: they believe their genius translates to other things. And oftentimes
- 2:17:48Speaker 11: you have a hard time convincing a white collar professional again, attorney, engineer, whatever,
- 2:17:54Speaker 11: You have a hard time convincing them what they're saying
- 2:17:56Speaker 11: is nonsense. And do they struggle with that and that
- 2:17:59Speaker 11: you they know a little bit more about possible, Yeah,
- 2:18:02Speaker 11: and they do start. I mean I even have buddies
- 2:18:04Speaker 11: who are engineers who are always all the time arguing
- 2:18:06Speaker 11: with me about my own business. I'm like, I'm not
- 2:18:09Speaker 11: telling you how to design a bridge, leave me alone.
- 2:18:12Speaker 11: But yeah, So I think that I find that the
- 2:18:15Speaker 11: blue collar folks, however we define that. You know, I
- 2:18:18Speaker 11: used to do seminars for the Bell South AT and
- 2:18:21Speaker 11: T folks who were out working on our lines and
- 2:18:23Speaker 11: doing things like that, climbing poles and such. And you know,
- 2:18:26Speaker 11: they were doing doing hard work. They didn't have a
- 2:18:28Speaker 11: lot of time to fiddle with, but they were also
- 2:18:30Speaker 11: more determined and less less I think frightened by day
- 2:18:34Speaker 11: to day gyrations in the market. Well, let's talk about
- 2:18:36Speaker 11: the gold fallacy. I have no idea what that is,
- 2:18:38Speaker 11: but I know that gold is at an all time
- 2:18:40Speaker 11: high right now. And what was it three or four
- 2:18:42Speaker 11: months ago, up to like almost five grand announce Yeah.
- 2:18:44Speaker 2: Yeah, So a lot of people we call them the
- 2:18:47Speaker 2: gold bugs. I've never really and you see a lot
- 2:18:49Speaker 2: of spots for this stuff. You hear a lot of
- 2:18:51Speaker 2: pitches for gold. And to mean interrupt, but I mean, no, no, no,
- 2:18:54Speaker 2: I mean.
- 2:18:54Speaker 11: And what you see is when things get wonky in
- 2:18:56Speaker 11: the economy or there's turmoil like the war we have
- 2:18:59Speaker 11: in Iran, people you'll see the gold people come out
- 2:19:03Speaker 11: on TV trying to sell you gold because of course
- 2:19:05Speaker 11: gold will be the only currency, YadA, YadA, YadA, YadA,
- 2:19:08Speaker 11: which is the same story they tell every single time.
- 2:19:10Speaker 11: And the reality is, if you look at gold as
- 2:19:12Speaker 11: an investment for the last fifty years, if you put
- 2:19:15Speaker 11: one thousand dollars into gold fifty years ago, you'd have
- 2:19:19Speaker 11: about ten thousand dollars, which isn't a bad deal.
- 2:19:21Speaker 2: But if you put that same money in the S
- 2:19:22Speaker 2: and P five.
- 2:19:23Speaker 11: Hundred, you have an eighty five thousand dollars, and if
- 2:19:26Speaker 11: you gave that same money to Warren Buffett, you'd have
- 2:19:28Speaker 11: about one hundred and thirty.
- 2:19:29Speaker 2: Five thousand dollars.
- 2:19:30Speaker 11: Right, Yeah, So this fallacy, the fallacy to me is
- 2:19:34Speaker 11: that gold has some use beyond shininess, and the reality
- 2:19:38Speaker 11: is we're off the gold standard that no longer matters.
- 2:19:41Speaker 11: So I just find it silly to think that this commodity,
- 2:19:45Speaker 11: this rock, this shiny rock that we all seem to
- 2:19:48Speaker 11: like so much, is going to be a difference them.
- 2:19:50Speaker 11: I always tease my friends who have some hard gold
- 2:19:53Speaker 11: under the house or wherever they're keeping it. I'm like,
- 2:19:55Speaker 11: so in the apocalypse, you're gonna go to Public's and
- 2:19:57Speaker 11: you can take your pocket knife out and carve off.
- 2:20:00Speaker 2: How's that gonna work Back in the day where you thought,
- 2:20:02Speaker 2: back in the day in the Old West, when you
- 2:20:03Speaker 2: went to the bar to get a room and get
- 2:20:05Speaker 2: a shave and some whiskey and food, they get the
- 2:20:07Speaker 2: they get the scale out. Yeah, and they were required that,
- 2:20:10Speaker 2: but you had to put go into your little sack
- 2:20:11Speaker 2: of bullion and sprinkle it out there. You're under the
- 2:20:14Speaker 2: You've been watching way too many Clint Eastwood movies.
- 2:20:16Speaker 11: If you think that's gonna happen. But yeah, it's and really,
- 2:20:19Speaker 11: as I've said a million times, and it's it's you know,
- 2:20:22Speaker 11: it's the same joke I've been telling for forty years.
- 2:20:24Speaker 11: Is it in the apocalypse and the world only ends once?
- 2:20:27Speaker 11: By the way, in the apocalypse, gunpowder and corn seed
- 2:20:30Speaker 11: are going to be the currency you need to involve
- 2:20:33Speaker 11: yourself because gold is going to be useful.
- 2:20:34Speaker 2: It's funny. I saw a thing today and it was
- 2:20:36Speaker 2: comparing and contrasting three ways to investor three thousand dollars
- 2:20:40Speaker 2: investments over a period of time. One was investing in
- 2:20:42Speaker 2: the market, one was buying gold, and one was investing
- 2:20:45Speaker 2: in Donald Trump's Mean Coin. The gold was up two
- 2:20:50Speaker 2: hundred and twenty seven dollars of the year, the investment
- 2:20:52Speaker 2: was up like three hundred and thirty dollars. And the
- 2:20:55Speaker 2: mean coin if you put it in one thousand dollars
- 2:20:57Speaker 2: into the mean coin when it when it was offered
- 2:20:59Speaker 2: to begin thing? Is was it last year or this year?
- 2:21:02Speaker 2: Last year? Last year? How much you think it's worse
- 2:21:04Speaker 2: right now? On a thousand bucks, yeah, a thousand dollars
- 2:21:06Speaker 2: fifty bucks, I was gonna say fourteen, Yeah, I think
- 2:21:09Speaker 2: it's I think it's either forty two or ninety two.
- 2:21:12Speaker 2: It's something like that. It lost almost all of its value.
- 2:21:14Speaker 2: But you know, think of the taxes he saved. Yeah,
- 2:21:17Speaker 2: he didn't.
- 2:21:17Speaker 11: You have any games like he promised to cut taxes.
- 2:21:19Speaker 11: There you go, You're welcome like one point three billion
- 2:21:22Speaker 11: of that deal. Yeah, yeah, that's not important.
- 2:21:24Speaker 2: But it's is gold a flippable asset like that'd be
- 2:21:27Speaker 2: because I know people that buy and sell gold pretty quickly.
- 2:21:30Speaker 2: They don't like sit on it. Yeah, I mean, what
- 2:21:32Speaker 2: do you think about that? It's just as that almost
- 2:21:34Speaker 2: seems more like a side hustle than it does, like
- 2:21:37Speaker 2: it's not an investment.
- 2:21:38Speaker 11: I mean, you have to get it timed. I mean, listen,
- 2:21:40Speaker 11: I think it's pure silliness, like trying to flip gold
- 2:21:43Speaker 11: coins or or gold. I mean, I guess you could
- 2:21:46Speaker 11: trade the et AF. There's an ETF the track gold
- 2:21:48Speaker 11: GLD is the symbol. I'm not asking you to buy that,
- 2:21:50Speaker 11: by the way, In fact, I would.
- 2:21:52Speaker 2: I love this.
- 2:21:53Speaker 11: You have to be I say that because somebody will
- 2:21:56Speaker 11: buy it and that' Scott Brown told me, no, don't
- 2:21:59Speaker 11: do that.
- 2:22:00Speaker 2: You got to say it faster. I already bought it, sorry,
- 2:22:04Speaker 2: and it's gone turn his happ off. But yeah, like
- 2:22:08Speaker 2: I just that's just pure silliness. It's no long term
- 2:22:11Speaker 2: wealth accumulation. And again I say, go find somebody. I
- 2:22:15Speaker 2: just say this with meme coin, meme stocks, and with crypto.
- 2:22:19Speaker 2: Go if you can bring me someone who has traded gold,
- 2:22:23Speaker 2: has day traded or bought crypto and is now independently
- 2:22:26Speaker 2: wealthy because of it. Now, the crypto, there's a few
- 2:22:29Speaker 2: of those lucky souls that bought ten years ago that
- 2:22:31Speaker 2: are still wealthy. But it's it's really hard to.
- 2:22:34Speaker 11: Find anybody who's accumulated real wealth that way, whereas in
- 2:22:36Speaker 11: a four to one k there are literally millions of people.
- 2:22:38Speaker 2: Scott Brown is Edgewaterfamilywealth dot Com that's right there on
- 2:22:41Speaker 2: Edgewater Drive, has been there for thirty eight plus years.
- 2:22:44Speaker 2: He's a fiduciary here in town, and his sole purpose
- 2:22:47Speaker 2: is to make sure that your money lasts you as
- 2:22:49Speaker 2: long as you last, and to make sure that you're
- 2:22:51Speaker 2: saving it properly and then it's earning the money you
- 2:22:54Speaker 2: deserve it to earn. They do this all the time.
- 2:22:55Speaker 2: You can get a free consultation just by calling these
- 2:22:58Speaker 2: guys up. Ask a couple of questions. If they think
- 2:23:00Speaker 2: you need to book a consultation, you can slide right
- 2:23:02Speaker 2: in talk to these guys. But they also answer questions
- 2:23:04Speaker 2: right on the phone.
- 2:23:05Speaker 11: Yeah, we do a lot of consolets. We usually get
- 2:23:07Speaker 11: two or three a week. Sometimes they last five minutes,
- 2:23:09Speaker 11: sometimes they last two and a half hours. It just
- 2:23:10Speaker 11: depends on what somebody needs. So you go to Edgewaterfamily
- 2:23:12Speaker 11: Wealth dot com and you can schedule a consult You
- 2:23:15Speaker 11: can also sign up for the event in September twenty six.
- 2:23:17Speaker 2: Yeah. By the way, while you're there, super cool is
- 2:23:19Speaker 2: take that Take that financial that I that's wealth DNA. Yeah,
- 2:23:24Speaker 2: the wealth DNA test, man, It is so cool. Take
- 2:23:27Speaker 2: it with your spouse. They'll send you the results kind
- 2:23:29Speaker 2: of give you an idea of the overview of what
- 2:23:31Speaker 2: kind of person you are when it comes to your money.
- 2:23:33Speaker 2: And it's pretty darn accurate and fun and free. Yeah
- 2:23:36Speaker 2: and free. Yeah, you also have a couple books there
- 2:23:38Speaker 2: as well. They're also free.
- 2:23:39Speaker 11: Yeah, you got I Never Made Anybody Rich by one
- 2:23:42Speaker 11: Scott Brown. And then you have I Got a Guy,
- 2:23:44Speaker 11: which is a guy to using a financial advisor. But yeah,
- 2:23:46Speaker 11: wealth DNA is a lot of fun and it'll tell
- 2:23:48Speaker 11: you a lot of things about yourself you probably didn't
- 2:23:50Speaker 11: absolutely all.
- 2:23:51Speaker 2: Right, four our seven nine one four one text us
- 2:23:53Speaker 2: at seven to seven zero three one. Take a little break.
- 2:23:56Speaker 2: We'll come back to a few more minutes with Scott
- 2:23:57Speaker 2: and get the hell out of here.
- 2:23:58Speaker 6: On Tuesday, subscribe and watch It's time for a talkback
- 2:24:10Speaker 6: Perge on the Jim Colbert Show.
- 2:24:16Speaker 16: A cover crew.
- 2:24:18Speaker 2: I had a quick thought. If we caught a Russian
- 2:24:21Speaker 2: fy wanted the information, if we took a furry caterpillar
- 2:24:26Speaker 2: it touched his back with it, would you give up
- 2:24:28Speaker 2: the goot? Hm hmm.
- 2:24:34Speaker 12: I was wrong yesterday about the watermelon screaming. It doesn't scream,
- 2:24:41Speaker 12: It hisses, and it's bits. The thing that screams is
- 2:24:45Speaker 12: a pumpkin does actually scream.
- 2:24:51Speaker 2: Put down the answer in the second talk back.
- 2:24:53Speaker 3: But yeah, you're talking about these graphics on vehicles.
- 2:24:56Speaker 2: We do those.
- 2:24:57Speaker 3: Usually sometimes some of the customers will ask us to say,
- 2:25:00Speaker 3: tell them magnets as well, like you size magnets, said,
- 2:25:03Speaker 3: fit those those graphics so the employees can take the
- 2:25:06Speaker 3: vans home because some of the hos don't allow like
- 2:25:09Speaker 3: a vehicle with graphics in the neighborhood. Yeah, it's a
- 2:25:12Speaker 3: big problem, just costing more people, more time and money.
- 2:25:17Speaker 2: To Jacks defense, don't. I think the only thing they
- 2:25:21Speaker 2: can do is just cration.
- 2:25:25Speaker 4: Of a body.
- 2:25:26Speaker 14: Also, I think that Teddy.
- 2:25:30Speaker 2: Bear was the way of your kids. Still, oh, that's
- 2:25:35Speaker 2: a good point. And thanks from the writing one.
- 2:25:37Speaker 17: Keas you a rare apology on my part. But he
- 2:25:42Speaker 17: didn't say it's a clanker. He said it's a clinker.
- 2:25:46Speaker 17: I'm very sorry.
- 2:25:48Speaker 2: You can just stop listening. What screw what?
- 2:25:53Speaker 4: Uh?
- 2:25:54Speaker 14: You guys have been hilarious thing. I missed that though,
