- 0:09Speaker 2: The World's a Vigeonal podcast Welcome to Patriots Unfiltered.
- 0:19Speaker 3: Prediatrick Mahomes and Josh Allen AFC. Like, what's even the
- 0:22Speaker 3: point right now?
- 0:23Speaker 4: Like why are we even trying?
- 0:25Speaker 5: Like like his his a dots like dead last in
- 0:27Speaker 5: the league. He's not throwing at average depth of target.
- 0:31Speaker 4: I don't carey.
- 0:32Speaker 2: Week one was pretty enjoyable, Okay, it was. It was
- 0:35Speaker 2: a tractor pole week one. It was an most enjoyable
- 0:38Speaker 2: tractor poll. Okay. Yeah.
- 0:40Speaker 5: And then if you go into twenty twenty five without
- 0:42Speaker 5: having any of these answers, and that's he's a red
- 0:44Speaker 5: shirt rookie at that point, so it's really that's his
- 0:47Speaker 5: rookie season essentially too.
- 0:48Speaker 4: So now we're really not talking about them, really knowing
- 0:51Speaker 4: they are until six, Like I'm just looking at Fred's fall,
- 0:54Speaker 4: you know, the voice of reason, Paul, I've never want
- 0:57Speaker 4: to be confused with that.
- 0:58Speaker 2: Let me make that progression. How do you think, oh
- 1:00Speaker 2: by playing oh oh.
- 1:05Speaker 4: The snort police. This is Patriots Unfiltered.
- 1:08Speaker 6: Presented by Toyota's official website for deals buy a Toyota
- 1:12Speaker 6: dot com.
- 1:14Speaker 2: All right, welcome the Patriots Unfiltered. It is Wednesday here
- 1:18Speaker 2: at Gillette Stadium. We're here for the next two hours
- 1:21Speaker 2: talking Patriots.
- 1:23Speaker 4: We had a.
- 1:23Speaker 2: Spirited discussion yesterday. I hope we can live up to
- 1:27Speaker 2: that one today. It's me and Paul, will be joined
- 1:29Speaker 2: by Duce and Evan later. They got some live things
- 1:32Speaker 2: they have to take care of right now, but we'll
- 1:35Speaker 2: jump right into it. Paul, you listen to Coach Mayo's
- 1:38Speaker 2: press conference today. Any anything you gleaned out of that
- 1:42Speaker 2: of news?
- 1:43Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, there were a couple of things. First, just
- 1:46Speaker 4: from a news standpoint. He Gerrod opened by explaining that
- 1:51Speaker 4: Joan Bentley will indeed go to injury reserve later today.
- 1:54Speaker 2: Is that season ending?
- 1:56Speaker 4: I would assume he didn't clarify, but I think that
- 1:58Speaker 4: that is going to be season And he talked to
- 2:03Speaker 4: Bentley a little bit about this beforehand, explained how he
- 2:07Speaker 4: had this situation with himself in his career as a
- 2:11Speaker 4: captain being injured, and Belichick had talked to him he
- 2:14Speaker 4: wants to replace the captain, So Kyle Dugger is now
- 2:19Speaker 4: one of the captains. Added to that lists you know,
- 2:23Speaker 4: Bentley not around right now as much. He's going through
- 2:26Speaker 4: the rehab process, going to have surgery and whatnot. So
- 2:30Speaker 4: Mayo felt it was important to replace that leadership in
- 2:33Speaker 4: the room. Kyle Dugger is the guy who replaces him.
- 2:36Speaker 4: So that was sort of the you know, the administrative
- 2:39Speaker 4: kind of news. The one thing I thought was interesting
- 2:41Speaker 4: in the press conference itself was he was asked a
- 2:45Speaker 4: couple of times about any interest in adding a veteran
- 2:50Speaker 4: quarterback to the roster. You know, for obvious reasons. We've
- 2:54Speaker 4: talked about ad nauseum. No, he does not have any
- 2:58Speaker 4: interest in that at this time. I think in the
- 3:01Speaker 4: middle of the exchange with Phil Perry, Nicole Yang asked
- 3:05Speaker 4: the question. Initially, Phil Perry asked to follow up, Mike
- 3:08Speaker 4: Giardy sort of added still seventy thirty in terms of
- 3:11Speaker 4: the split. Mayo confirmed that it was, and he talked
- 3:15Speaker 4: about that's strictly with the ones. You know. In addition
- 3:20Speaker 4: to that, may is also doing a lot of Scout
- 3:22Speaker 4: team work, and you know, he talked about may and
- 3:25Speaker 4: Milton have been you know, Geno Smith and Joe Burrow
- 3:29Speaker 4: and you know, Aaron Rodgers last week. So he talked
- 3:34Speaker 4: about the importance of those scout team reps for your
- 3:36Speaker 4: mechanics and you know, your your your reads and getting
- 3:40Speaker 4: going through everything. Even though you're running someone else's plays,
- 3:43Speaker 4: there's still a lot of value that can be had.
- 3:44Speaker 4: So those are the two takeaways I had from the
- 3:47Speaker 4: press conference, just sort of reiterating what we've been talking
- 3:50Speaker 4: about with with Drake may he said he's he's practiced well. Okay,
- 3:54Speaker 4: he spaid specifically that he's practiced well.
- 3:57Speaker 2: Didn't no one ask how's he doing behind the scenes
- 4:00Speaker 2: in the film room where not specifically, not that he's
- 4:04Speaker 2: going to say if he wasn't doing well, he would say,
- 4:07Speaker 2: but just get it on record. Ah, he's doing great.
- 4:10Speaker 4: You know, no one unless I missed it, you know,
- 4:13Speaker 4: I didn't remember anybody specifically asking about.
- 4:16Speaker 2: Because to me, like, I mean, we're gonna just repeat
- 4:22Speaker 2: what we said yesterday. But if he's doing well in
- 4:25Speaker 2: practice and he's doing well in the film room, then
- 4:28Speaker 2: he let's get him out there. Well.
- 4:30Speaker 4: Just you know, we must have had a pretty good
- 4:33Speaker 4: show yesterday because it was repeated from two to four
- 4:35Speaker 4: on the Sports Hub by My Boys, on My Show
- 4:40Speaker 4: with Mike and Tony with Greg Bdard. Now and listen.
- 4:43Speaker 4: I'm being obviously facetious. It's not like we broke it.
- 4:48Speaker 4: You know, we broke down new ground yesterday talking there's
- 4:52Speaker 4: some issues that we think that could be on the
- 4:56Speaker 4: horizon in terms of the style of offense that they
- 4:59Speaker 4: want to play a with Drake May. And I think
- 5:02Speaker 4: that's what Greg Bard was talking about. I'm not saying
- 5:04Speaker 4: it was just joking around. Like you know, they sat
- 5:06Speaker 4: and listened to us for two.
- 5:07Speaker 2: Hours, maybe from Deuce, because when Deuce was on the
- 5:11Speaker 2: show yesterday, he brought up this theory that they could
- 5:16Speaker 2: be behind the scenes working on this second offense with
- 5:20Speaker 2: Drake May and all that stuff. And then I heard
- 5:24Speaker 2: Badard say exactly the same thing.
- 5:26Speaker 4: So I'm thinking he said he thinks they need to
- 5:28Speaker 4: He said they think that they can't run the same
- 5:30Speaker 4: offense with Man.
- 5:31Speaker 2: So I don't know if Deuce.
- 5:32Speaker 4: Which is something I said when they hired Alex van Pelt,
- 5:35Speaker 4: I don't like that style first.
- 5:37Speaker 2: Is that something you read from Badard or is that
- 5:40Speaker 2: something you just came up with? And then Badard listened
- 5:42Speaker 2: to our show and said it but like you said,
- 5:44Speaker 2: it's not brain surgery. Yeah, And I'm know what's coming
- 5:46Speaker 2: up with.
- 5:47Speaker 4: That, and I'm not dismissing anyone's theories. I think it's
- 5:49Speaker 4: good analysis. I think, you know, listening to Greg a
- 5:52Speaker 4: little bit yesterday, he talked about some of the stuff
- 5:54Speaker 4: that we talked about in terms of the running game
- 5:57Speaker 4: and trying to you know, hit the edges. Against the Jets,
- 6:00Speaker 4: they didn't do that as much. But when they do
- 6:02Speaker 4: play action, that's the play action that they go off of.
- 6:05Speaker 4: So they're running the best running plays are you know,
- 6:08Speaker 4: of course Greg has to get go all Evan on you.
- 6:10Speaker 4: You know, it's run scheme ahead, but they're straight ahead
- 6:15Speaker 4: between the tackles, no frills, kind of runs power and
- 6:19Speaker 4: when they're doing play action, it's off of the zone stretch,
- 6:23Speaker 4: which they're not running a effectively, but not all that
- 6:27Speaker 4: often anyway, And so it's almost like you come out
- 6:30Speaker 4: with a stretch zone play action, the defense is going
- 6:34Speaker 4: to assume it's play action because you haven't run it well.
- 6:36Speaker 2: Well. So maybe me included what's the difference between just
- 6:41Speaker 2: play action and stretch play action? To me, you're you're
- 6:44Speaker 2: faking handing somebody off the ball.
- 6:47Speaker 4: It's just it's but if you're if you're Greg's point
- 6:51Speaker 4: This is Greg's theory, not mine, but I'm just trying
- 6:54Speaker 4: to explain what he's talking about. They're not handing the
- 6:58Speaker 4: ball off the way they're play acting. So if they're going,
- 7:02Speaker 4: if they're going to the edges and it's that big
- 7:05Speaker 4: extended zone read like you show the ball and you
- 7:08Speaker 4: pull it back right, Well, when they're showing the ball
- 7:11Speaker 4: like this, they're not handing.
- 7:12Speaker 2: It right Okay, okay.
- 7:16Speaker 4: It's almost like when they do that, it's a play action,
- 7:18Speaker 4: got it, whereas if you're just you know, under center,
- 7:21Speaker 4: up the gut, you know, you know, you give a
- 7:23Speaker 4: little play action then you go. And they actually had
- 7:26Speaker 4: a little success with that.
- 7:27Speaker 2: That seems to be easily remedied.
- 7:29Speaker 4: So I actually thought, I think, like the pressure, the
- 7:32Speaker 4: pressure is obviously a problem no matter what. Like everybody's like, well,
- 7:35Speaker 4: they can't play action because they you know, they're getting
- 7:38Speaker 4: too much pressure on all passes right now. There's too
- 7:42Speaker 4: much penetration on all run plays right now until things
- 7:45Speaker 4: get sort of buttoned down, you know. And David Andrews
- 7:48Speaker 4: talked a little bit about that too. It's like, you know,
- 7:50Speaker 4: it's a copycat league and what the Jets did, you know,
- 7:53Speaker 4: we hadn't seen as much from the first two teams,
- 7:56Speaker 4: but I wouldn't. We have to be prepared to fix that.
- 7:59Speaker 4: Even if we don't see it this week against San Francisco,
- 8:01Speaker 4: we need to expect to see that because we didn't
- 8:03Speaker 4: handle it well. And until we do, it's a copycat
- 8:06Speaker 4: league and teams will see that and they'll continue to
- 8:09Speaker 4: test us.
- 8:09Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean, really, if you're the Patriots coaches, you
- 8:15Speaker 2: need to start thinking about all these things. I mean,
- 8:17Speaker 2: I don't care if you haven't seen it yet. You're
- 8:19Speaker 2: a vulnerable team right now. Teams are going to be like,
- 8:22Speaker 2: you know, and it's not only is it a copycat league,
- 8:25Speaker 2: but other teams know that you're learning from stuff. So obviously,
- 8:29Speaker 2: if you're San Francisco, you're like, Okay, the Jets are
- 8:32Speaker 2: really successful. We're assuming the Patriots aren't idiots. They're going
- 8:36Speaker 2: to do things to you know, correct that. So we
- 8:40Speaker 2: can try that maybe later in the game. But let's
- 8:42Speaker 2: let's try some other things too. You know, it's the
- 8:44Speaker 2: whole chess match. It's you know, I know that they
- 8:47Speaker 2: know that I know things absolutely.
- 8:49Speaker 4: It's funny because I thought that whole thing in my
- 8:51Speaker 4: head when David was talking about it. I was thinking
- 8:54Speaker 4: of Bill saying, you know, they know that, we know it.
- 8:56Speaker 2: I know that's and that's it. But you know, at
- 8:58Speaker 2: the end of the day, whatever you do, just got
- 9:00Speaker 2: to execute it right exactly and have and be ready
- 9:04Speaker 2: and be aware, like, Okay, there's a guy all of
- 9:07Speaker 2: a sudden, I'm not covering I'm not blocking anyone. That
- 9:10Speaker 2: means something's happening somewhere else, So don't just stand there.
- 9:13Speaker 4: And I do think that. You know, we talk a
- 9:16Speaker 4: lot about the you know, the coaches and the schemes
- 9:20Speaker 4: and everything, and those are important. I'm not dismissing them.
- 9:22Speaker 4: I'm like, believe me, I'm not dismissing I've seen sort
- 9:26Speaker 4: of average personnel look better because of you know, well
- 9:31Speaker 4: orchestrated schemes, well designed plays and whatnot. But I make
- 9:35Speaker 4: a lot of the stuff that's a problem right now
- 9:37Speaker 4: for the Patriots. It's just their guys aren't as good
- 9:39Speaker 4: as the guys they're trying to block.
- 9:40Speaker 2: And that can be the simple bottom line.
- 9:43Speaker 4: You know, their receivers aren't as good as the guys
- 9:46Speaker 4: that are covering them. Their quarterback is not as good
- 9:48Speaker 4: as the guys that are defending them, like I just
- 9:51Speaker 4: we can sit here and put it all on Alex
- 9:52Speaker 4: van Pelt if we want. And I'm not telling you
- 9:55Speaker 4: that everything that they've done offensively is exactly the right
- 9:58Speaker 4: thing and what I would have done or whatever. But
- 10:01Speaker 4: I just don't know how you just scheme around the
- 10:05Speaker 4: lack of a left tackle, you know, as an example,
- 10:08Speaker 4: or you know, try to design deep shots when you
- 10:11Speaker 4: don't really have a deep threat. You know, you don't
- 10:14Speaker 4: have a big outside threat to to put some some
- 10:17Speaker 4: pressure on a defense and go to your whole thing
- 10:19Speaker 4: about being easy to defend. I don't know how you
- 10:21Speaker 4: just magically scheme around that all the time. You can
- 10:25Speaker 4: do it once in a while, but it's it's hard
- 10:28Speaker 4: to if you had to put up any significant production
- 10:31Speaker 4: when you don't have the horses.
- 10:32Speaker 2: If you listen to the ball knowers, a lot of
- 10:35Speaker 2: them are lined up on a VP.
- 10:38Speaker 4: No I know, that's what I'm saying.
- 10:39Speaker 2: They're looking for the scapegoat, and right now it's a
- 10:43Speaker 2: VP where I think you might be more on it.
- 10:45Speaker 2: It's listen, it's the talent. It's the talent right now,
- 10:49Speaker 2: you know, and.
- 10:50Speaker 4: You know, and then you know, we're talking a lot
- 10:53Speaker 4: about the left tackle and rightly, so they don't have
- 10:55Speaker 4: one right The right tackle hasn't played very well in
- 11:00Speaker 4: this game in particular. But I think, really the last
- 11:03Speaker 4: two games, and it pains me to say it because
- 11:06Speaker 4: I love him so much, David Andrews hasn't played all
- 11:08Speaker 4: that well so well, And a lot of people think
- 11:13Speaker 4: the best part of the offensive line through three games
- 11:16Speaker 4: has been Michael Jordan, the best performer individually.
- 11:20Speaker 2: But what do you need in grade?
- 11:21Speaker 4: But yeah, I mean, I know I miss those, but
- 11:25Speaker 4: you need you need that group to be better. You
- 11:27Speaker 4: need the receivers to be better. But how do you
- 11:32Speaker 4: just like magically get faster or bigger? Like it's not
- 11:37Speaker 4: something you can just watch more film and become bigger.
- 11:40Speaker 4: Doesn't work that way.
- 11:42Speaker 2: Yeah, and then obviously it's the quarterback too, Like, what
- 11:46Speaker 2: what are we missing in terms of identifying what's coming?
- 11:51Speaker 2: You know, the pre snap read and all that stuff.
- 11:54Speaker 2: Only the coaches know for sure, So we're left just
- 11:57Speaker 2: you know, speculating. All right, So this has turned the
- 12:02Speaker 2: page day San Francisco. We'll get our first practice what's that?
- 12:11Speaker 2: We'll get our first participation report from both teams today.
- 12:15Speaker 2: But we're anticipating. Obviously McCaffrey's not going.
- 12:18Speaker 4: To be mcaffrey's on IR and hems like he's not
- 12:20Speaker 4: going to play till November.
- 12:22Speaker 2: Tebo Samuel probably won't be playing.
- 12:24Speaker 4: I would say not. I don't know about him, but
- 12:26Speaker 4: I would say not. I think Shanahan said a couple
- 12:30Speaker 4: of weeks or a few weeks, so this would only
- 12:32Speaker 4: be the second week, So I wouldn't kittle kittle. I
- 12:35Speaker 4: think we'll be back, okay, but no. Javon Hargrave he's
- 12:39Speaker 4: tore his triceps, so he's out. That's a huge that's
- 12:42Speaker 4: a big thing for David Andrews, who talked about him
- 12:45Speaker 4: a little bit in his press conference.
- 12:46Speaker 2: He was the guy that they lost in the Super Bowl.
- 12:48Speaker 2: That made a big difference, right, if I recall correctly.
- 12:53Speaker 4: I think one of the linebackers went out right, one
- 12:56Speaker 4: of the linebackers, Terror's achilles celebrating well, running onto the
- 13:00Speaker 4: field and a changeable measure.
- 13:01Speaker 2: I just I thought it was abe.
- 13:04Speaker 4: Was a green law.
- 13:05Speaker 2: Oh yes, yeah, you're right, you're right. I knew it
- 13:08Speaker 2: had two syllables. Yeah, so you're not gonna laugh at that.
- 13:14Speaker 4: I mean, there wasn't an example of me speaking Fred
- 13:17Speaker 4: I got there.
- 13:17Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, but so he's.
- 13:19Speaker 4: Out, but Fred Warner is still there and Nick Bosa
- 13:24Speaker 4: is still there. The secondary, I think is is a
- 13:26Speaker 4: little vulnerable. I don't think that they've looked great from
- 13:29Speaker 4: what little I've seen, But I just don't think it
- 13:35Speaker 4: matters all that much about the defense. It's it's the
- 13:37Speaker 4: Patriots offense and can they can they do enough things
- 13:41Speaker 4: well to put some points on the board regardless of
- 13:44Speaker 4: the defense.
- 13:45Speaker 2: The other thing I heard them arguing on your show,
- 13:48Speaker 2: one of your shows, was whether or not you should
- 13:51Speaker 2: put him put May in. You know, does it make
- 13:54Speaker 2: a difference if you started May in San Francisco or Miami?
- 13:58Speaker 4: And you know, so that was that was Andy in
- 14:00Speaker 4: our camps.
- 14:01Speaker 2: Okay, well that's another one of your shows.
- 14:03Speaker 4: Yeah, well that's only because it's I'll allow it because
- 14:07Speaker 4: that was a good argument argument. I just wanted to
- 14:12Speaker 4: get my Niners death charge out of here, so I
- 14:14Speaker 4: can not forget all the names winners. I personally agree
- 14:21Speaker 4: with Arcand on that, not Andy. Now, I understand you're
- 14:25Speaker 4: asking him to do something a lot more difficult going
- 14:27Speaker 4: to San Francisco, but ultimately, I mean, like, does it
- 14:30Speaker 4: really matter like, if he loses his first game or
- 14:33Speaker 4: he wins his first game, does that is that like
- 14:36Speaker 4: more indicative of what his future success will be?
- 14:38Speaker 7: Right?
- 14:38Speaker 4: Yeah? I don't know. Yeah, I mean the Dolphins. Dolphins
- 14:44Speaker 4: are struggling like crazy on offense, you believe it or not.
- 14:47Speaker 4: The Dolphins have scored fewer points in the Patriots in
- 14:49Speaker 4: three games, but their defense has been okay, you know
- 14:53Speaker 4: it hasn't been terrible.
- 14:54Speaker 2: Well that's the thing. Everyone's just saying, Miami's going to
- 14:57Speaker 2: be a layup. Well it will be not if the
- 14:59Speaker 2: Patriots can't points.
- 15:00Speaker 4: You don't need to score points to beat them. That's
- 15:02Speaker 4: the thing.
- 15:03Speaker 2: It's all relative.
- 15:04Speaker 4: But if they're gonna play with with Tim Boyle or
- 15:07Speaker 4: Skyler Thompson, you should win that game at home. Okay,
- 15:11Speaker 4: like that, like the Seahawks did sleepwalking twenty four to three.
- 15:14Speaker 2: I hope you're right. I hope you're right. But let's
- 15:16Speaker 2: not get ahead of ourselves. We got San Francisco right now,
- 15:19Speaker 2: what early line do we have that?
- 15:21Speaker 4: Ten and a half?
- 15:24Speaker 2: Ten and a half and you get three, So I
- 15:28Speaker 2: don't know what that means.
- 15:29Speaker 4: So it's only seven and a half. True, you have
- 15:33Speaker 4: such a hard time with minus and plus plus and
- 15:35Speaker 4: minus three second. Green Law is on on PUP, McCaffrey
- 15:39Speaker 4: is on I R. So those are the guys that
- 15:43Speaker 4: you're definitely not gonna see. But there's still you know,
- 15:47Speaker 4: Defondre Campbell is a good player. Fred Warner is one
- 15:49Speaker 4: of the best middle linebackers in football. Hard Grave will
- 15:53Speaker 4: be out, but they'll have Leonard Floyd and Nick Bosa
- 15:56Speaker 4: on the edges. That's you know, that's that's gonna put
- 16:00Speaker 4: some fresh problems. So I just think the secondary, like
- 16:04Speaker 4: the former BC kid Yattam is starting. I wanted to
- 16:08Speaker 4: look up. I knew it was Shavarius Ward was on
- 16:10Speaker 4: one side, but Isaac Yotdam was the one I couldn't remember.
- 16:15Speaker 4: He's the kid out of BC. He struggled. He had
- 16:18Speaker 4: the big penalty that set up the Rams at the
- 16:21Speaker 4: end of the game last week. That's a game I
- 16:22Speaker 4: don't know if you watched any of that. It's one
- 16:26Speaker 4: of those games that San Francisco like doubled them up
- 16:29Speaker 4: in yards, was in total control of the game, but
- 16:32Speaker 4: kind of couldn't put it away. Yeah, and then all
- 16:34Speaker 4: of a sudden at the end of the game, the
- 16:35Speaker 4: Rams got hot and Stafford did what Stafford does and
- 16:39Speaker 4: stole the game.
- 16:39Speaker 2: Yeah, they were up by fourteen and the fourth.
- 16:42Speaker 4: In the second half, they're up fourteen I think it
- 16:44Speaker 4: was ten. In the fourth there was a turnover that
- 16:47Speaker 4: helped the Rams get a quick score and then you know,
- 16:52Speaker 4: they got they got a three and out when they
- 16:54Speaker 4: needed it, got the ball back, got a big punt return.
- 16:58Speaker 4: Then the Niners missed a field goal before that. Then
- 17:01Speaker 4: then they give up a big punt return. So yeah,
- 17:05Speaker 4: then Rams stole a game.
- 17:06Speaker 2: Yeah all right, So the guys will be here shortly.
- 17:08Speaker 2: But while we have this time, I just want to
- 17:12Speaker 2: I'm gonna throw this out there. I'm gonna come up
- 17:15Speaker 2: with a Patriot's Unfiltered Email newsletter. So everybody who has
- 17:21Speaker 2: emailed into the show, you're gonna get the newsletter. Obviously,
- 17:25Speaker 2: if you don't want to get anymore, you can opt out,
- 17:28Speaker 2: you can unsubscribe. But the but the newsletter, I'm thinking
- 17:32Speaker 2: it's gonna have, you know, like clips of the week.
- 17:34Speaker 2: We've got this new software. You can run through the
- 17:36Speaker 2: shows and it can pick out like highlights, so we'll
- 17:39Speaker 2: do highlights in case you miss stuff. We'll have our
- 17:42Speaker 2: picks updates, so we'll have our records in there, our
- 17:46Speaker 2: season total.
- 17:47Speaker 4: In and I don't think anybody wants that right now.
- 17:49Speaker 2: So we're gonna have that, you know, keep us accountable.
- 17:53Speaker 2: But I'd like to hear from people. Maybe you know,
- 17:55Speaker 2: you can email and during the show today or tomorrow whatever.
- 17:59Speaker 2: Is there anything else you'd like to see in this newsletter,
- 18:03Speaker 2: you know, And we'll send it out once a week,
- 18:05Speaker 2: probably either end of day Thursday or on Friday. Every
- 18:09Speaker 2: week we'll send out the newsletter, you know anything. Well,
- 18:14Speaker 2: the other thing, we'll have an email of the week,
- 18:17Speaker 2: so somebody will be in charge of picking out the
- 18:20Speaker 2: best email from the week, and we'll do a giveaway,
- 18:23Speaker 2: you know, maybe like a signed item or something like that,
- 18:25Speaker 2: all right, you know, not from a player from us,
- 18:27Speaker 2: not I'm only getting you know, but we'll have giveaway
- 18:30Speaker 2: T shirts and stuff like that for anyone that gets
- 18:33Speaker 2: the newsletter. So if you email us at web radio
- 18:37Speaker 2: at pages dot com, we'll put you on the list,
- 18:39Speaker 2: you'll get the newsletter to start, and then you can
- 18:42Speaker 2: you can opt out if you if you don't want
- 18:44Speaker 2: to get it anymore. Because I know some of us
- 18:46Speaker 2: get a million emails.
- 18:47Speaker 4: And well you're important, so.
- 18:50Speaker 2: I do. But so if you have any ideas about
- 18:55Speaker 2: what should be in the newsletter, let me know. But
- 18:59Speaker 2: I really think that I've always thought we should be
- 19:02Speaker 2: doing that. Now, you know, we've got some extra people
- 19:05Speaker 2: that we've hired, so maybe now we have staff to
- 19:08Speaker 2: do it. But like the sense of community. I love
- 19:12Speaker 2: the fact that you know, people listen and email and
- 19:16Speaker 2: call in and we get our regulars. But I really
- 19:19Speaker 2: want to foster that sense of community for the Patriots
- 19:22Speaker 2: Unfiltered listener universe. And so having this weekly newsletter is
- 19:27Speaker 2: I think you know a good way to do that.
- 19:30Speaker 2: Reward people for emailing the show, et cetera.
- 19:33Speaker 4: So so, just out of curiosity, who's tasked with this?
- 19:39Speaker 2: I think some people will be tasked with little things.
- 19:42Speaker 2: I think maybe you'd be.
- 19:44Speaker 4: In charge of somebody I knew this was going to fall.
- 19:47Speaker 2: Well you keep the book anyway, Well, I mean, can
- 19:49Speaker 2: do do the picks.
- 19:50Speaker 4: But I'm talking about fashioning an email.
- 19:53Speaker 2: We have the whole department.
- 19:54Speaker 4: Then how often does the email go out?
- 19:56Speaker 2: Once a week?
- 19:56Speaker 4: Once a week?
- 19:57Speaker 2: Yeah, we have a whole department that does newsletters sold.
- 20:02Speaker 4: But a great idea, Frank, But.
- 20:03Speaker 2: I think you know, obviously you would be in charge
- 20:06Speaker 2: of getting the person putting it together. You know, everybody's
- 20:10Speaker 2: record so far, but I would expect all of us
- 20:14Speaker 2: would be contributing to you know, oh, hey, in this
- 20:17Speaker 2: week's newsletter, we should add blah blah blah. You know,
- 20:19Speaker 2: we should always be thinking of that.
- 20:22Speaker 4: Yeah, all right, yeah, yeah, I do like the idea.
- 20:27Speaker 4: It sort of gives us more of a connection to
- 20:28Speaker 4: the listeners. Well, and we get I mean, you have
- 20:30Speaker 4: to admit, we have a pretty loyal with long stand
- 20:34Speaker 4: and the other thing.
- 20:35Speaker 2: I've said it before, but we maybe get to like
- 20:39Speaker 2: a dozen emails a show, get ten times that emails
- 20:44Speaker 2: per show, and you know, I don't even get a
- 20:47Speaker 2: chance to see them in you know, in real time.
- 20:50Speaker 2: And then I go back and oh, that was a
- 20:51Speaker 2: good email. I wish I had seen that one.
- 20:54Speaker 4: Just you know, sort of spitball. And we could do
- 20:56Speaker 4: what Mike and Tony do and a lot of other
- 20:58Speaker 4: which they do an email of the day and they
- 21:01Speaker 4: get it sponsored. Yeah, you know, you know, do an
- 21:03Speaker 4: email of the day.
- 21:04Speaker 2: Well, anytime there's a sponsor, we'll do that, you know,
- 21:07Speaker 2: So we could do that. But you know, we read
- 21:10Speaker 2: more emails during the show than any of your shows.
- 21:13Speaker 4: Didn't mean to bring anything that might be revenue producing
- 21:15Speaker 4: in any way.
- 21:16Speaker 2: You know, I think your show's kind of frown upon
- 21:18Speaker 2: reading emails during the show.
- 21:20Speaker 4: Well, they have a whole segment where they do it.
- 21:22Speaker 4: At the end they read, Yeah, I think it's a
- 21:24Speaker 4: great segment.
- 21:25Speaker 2: It's fun.
- 21:26Speaker 4: The Coleman Electric and the Day.
- 21:28Speaker 2: What I think makes it work. I would assume that
- 21:31Speaker 2: behind the scenes they've got somebody looking at all these
- 21:34Speaker 2: emails and bubbling up the best and usually there's stuff ripping.
- 21:39Speaker 4: Yeah, Mike always picks stuff that people.
- 21:41Speaker 2: Are making fun of Mike, and I think that's good.
- 21:43Speaker 4: I agree, Yeah, I think it's funny.
- 21:45Speaker 2: Yeah, we love getting made fun of well, and we
- 21:49Speaker 2: love when emailers make fun of each other.
- 21:51Speaker 4: Let's face it, we're easy target, right, I mean I
- 21:53Speaker 4: won't speak for everybody else. I'm a pretty easy target.
- 21:55Speaker 2: But you know, just because your shows do it a
- 21:58Speaker 2: certain way, it doesn't mean our show.
- 21:59Speaker 4: We don't have to do it the same way. But
- 22:00Speaker 4: I think it's a good idea for revenue.
- 22:03Speaker 2: Listen, Like I said, you know, get on more for me.
- 22:07Speaker 2: If Wiz Knifa is listening.
- 22:08Speaker 4: The unrecord Email of the Day.
- 22:10Speaker 2: Email a day caller of the day, we could have
- 22:14Speaker 2: you know, whatever of the day.
- 22:16Speaker 4: You know, you don't find me as funny as I do.
- 22:20Speaker 2: Yeah, that's okay. So so weekly newsletter and then in
- 22:24Speaker 2: the off season we'll probably send it out monthly. But
- 22:27Speaker 2: that maybe we do that weekly. Maybe we do it weekly.
- 22:31Speaker 4: See if it's a hit, you know.
- 22:33Speaker 2: No, it's not like the news, you know when the
- 22:34Speaker 2: shows don't stop in the off season.
- 22:36Speaker 4: No, we don't stop. We won't stop.
- 22:39Speaker 2: We're always talking Patriots, all right. So that's that. Uh
- 22:42Speaker 2: eight five five pass five hundred is the TPX hotline
- 22:47Speaker 2: web radio at Patriots dot com. Is the email address?
- 22:51Speaker 2: Red Sox still in it.
- 22:53Speaker 4: I'll tell you those plucky Red Sox mathematically eliminated moving
- 22:56Speaker 4: to I don't know, within ten games below five hundred
- 22:59Speaker 4: since the All Star I'll tell you got to admire
- 23:01Speaker 4: the grit, got to admire the grit.
- 23:04Speaker 2: Okay.
- 23:04Speaker 4: Raphael devis on IR.
- 23:07Speaker 2: You know. So while we're waiting for the guys, the
- 23:11Speaker 2: emails are coming in all different subjects. A lot of
- 23:15Speaker 2: people have comments on the postgame show.
- 23:17Speaker 4: Paul not happy with the postgame.
- 23:19Speaker 2: Well, no, it's not that they're they like to nitpick though,
- 23:22Speaker 2: you know, can you do this? Can you do that? Oh?
- 23:24Speaker 4: Okay, I'm always I'm always willing to listen to better
- 23:28Speaker 4: ideas well.
- 23:28Speaker 2: Bethany from Ontario, Ontario. She says, I've been listening for
- 23:33Speaker 2: a few years now, first time emailer. I wanted to
- 23:36Speaker 2: make a few comments on the postgame show. She says
- 23:40Speaker 2: Matt Smith needs to relax. He acts like the show
- 23:44Speaker 2: is an extended interview rather than in a conversation, always
- 23:47Speaker 2: trying to push to the next thing, ask the next question,
- 23:51Speaker 2: get to the next guy. Podcasts and the show has
- 23:54Speaker 2: always seemed to be more of a conversation. And that's
- 23:57Speaker 2: not the feeling the new host gives you. Guys like
- 24:00Speaker 2: a question and have a lot to say, take as
- 24:03Speaker 2: much time as you want to answer and debate. We
- 24:06Speaker 2: don't need to rush to a new one.
- 24:09Speaker 4: I think that's yeah, very fair.
- 24:13Speaker 2: Yeah, So I don't know if Matt's listening. He's probably
- 24:15Speaker 2: not listening.
- 24:16Speaker 4: It's probably not.
- 24:18Speaker 2: Others have already mentioned cutting into the good, the bad,
- 24:21Speaker 2: and the injured, so I won't harp on that. But
- 24:26Speaker 2: he also cuts off callers and drops them before they
- 24:29Speaker 2: have a chance to respond to the pfw s cruise
- 24:32Speaker 2: takes or ask a second question if they have one.
- 24:35Speaker 4: Now that one I disagree with. Okay, I think he
- 24:38Speaker 4: gives the call it. I mean, I think at times
- 24:42Speaker 4: our calls go too long, So I like that, but
- 24:45Speaker 4: I would agree with the other part. And we've talked
- 24:47Speaker 4: about it, and as we speak, the other member of
- 24:51Speaker 4: the eight team.
- 24:52Speaker 2: Just finishing up. She says, all in all, he's not
- 24:54Speaker 2: doing terribly but needs to relax. I started watching football
- 24:59Speaker 2: just in the last ten years in the PO crew
- 25:01Speaker 2: has taught me a lot about the game, and the
- 25:03Speaker 2: team still doesn't understand three four and what Evan talks
- 25:07Speaker 2: about really appreciate all of your hard work and the
- 25:10Speaker 2: different perspectives and the pregame perfect example that they won't
- 25:17Speaker 2: pay for a real humorous host.
- 25:20Speaker 4: Yeah, that's so. I know he's going to cry him.
- 25:23Speaker 4: You know, he's going to cry himself to sleep. So
- 25:29Speaker 4: I was gonna say that didn't seem like it needs.
- 25:31Speaker 2: No right, So just what's up.
- 25:34Speaker 3: We just got back from the locker room. Yeah, so
- 25:36Speaker 3: Kyle Duggar had a hard time hearing him. He's got
- 25:39Speaker 3: a deep bass in his voice. If you're not right, next,
- 25:43Speaker 3: Artrell Hawkins Heart Archill Hawkins, good Paul, remember two thousand
- 25:48Speaker 3: and six. His voice deep deep, But I wasn't you know, Tamara,
- 25:53Speaker 3: she burrows into the scrums. She's able to get the
- 25:55Speaker 3: mic up. So if you're caught on the outside of
- 25:57Speaker 3: the scrum, though, it's just that that deep voice, you
- 25:59Speaker 3: can't really So I assume that he was excited to
- 26:02Speaker 3: be named captain today and he's looking forward to taking
- 26:05Speaker 3: on some additional leadership responsibilities. I'll review the tape, as
- 26:08Speaker 3: Evan likes to say, afterwards, and uh and see. But otherwise,
- 26:11Speaker 3: uh no, not a lot going on, a lot of scrumsk.
- 26:14Speaker 2: The elevation of Doug Art a captain, and I know
- 26:17Speaker 2: Bentley's injury prompted it, but do you think there's a
- 26:20Speaker 2: secondary thing, like we needed to step up a little bit?
- 26:23Speaker 3: I like that, Fred. I didn't even that didn't even
- 26:25Speaker 3: occur to me, But I like that because I do
- 26:27Speaker 3: feel that way. I feel. You know, this is a
- 26:29Speaker 3: guy you gave a you know what, a three year
- 26:31Speaker 3: deal too. I mean, he's a piece that you're investing
- 26:34Speaker 3: in that you want to build on, and there's just
- 26:36Speaker 3: continues to be too many kind of brain farts with him.
- 26:38Speaker 3: You know, it's just time to time. Ever since even
- 26:40Speaker 3: his rookie year, you know, you'd you'd feel he'd have
- 26:42Speaker 3: a couple of good games. You'd feel excited. He might
- 26:44Speaker 3: you know, make an interception or make a play on
- 26:46Speaker 3: the ball and you know, make a big hit or
- 26:48Speaker 3: but then you'd see him struggling in coverage, you know,
- 26:51Speaker 3: to catch up or giving up a key key completion
- 26:53Speaker 3: at a at a at a significant point in the game.
- 26:55Speaker 3: So I like that. I think that's a good uh,
- 26:57Speaker 3: you know, maybe a good message. As you know with
- 27:00Speaker 3: out Bentley, we need you to step up and know
- 27:02Speaker 3: Mayo talked a little bit about the communication, which we
- 27:04Speaker 3: talked about yesterday, can be a lot for some guys.
- 27:06Speaker 3: So I think they have some confidence in him with
- 27:09Speaker 3: the communication and wearing the green dot and that kind
- 27:11Speaker 3: of stuff. So I think that might be part of
- 27:12Speaker 3: it too. But I think that's a really, really good
- 27:14Speaker 3: observation by you.
- 27:15Speaker 4: Yeah, I thought the questions about him sort of moving positions,
- 27:20Speaker 4: like like he's not just going to like magically become
- 27:25Speaker 4: a full time Jawan Bentley.
- 27:27Speaker 8: Middle linebacker, who was saying that, No, it was one
- 27:29Speaker 8: of the questions that was one of the questions and
- 27:31Speaker 8: I kind of romize and then and then Mayo says,
- 27:33Speaker 8: you know, he likes to do these little football nuggets
- 27:35Speaker 8: where he's like, anytime a safety walks down into the box,
- 27:38Speaker 8: he's kind of a linebacker, And I'm like a link
- 27:40Speaker 8: you he's an a linebacker.
- 27:41Speaker 3: Yeah, but he's not going to be a middle linebacker.
- 27:44Speaker 4: I mean, right right now, Jawan Bentley's like two hundred
- 27:48Speaker 4: and fifty pounds, Like he's a big middle line like
- 27:51Speaker 4: Brandon Spikes, those kinds of guys.
- 27:53Speaker 3: And usually when you see it happen with Marty map
- 27:56Speaker 3: Whu or Doug Er, it's because they're going to cover
- 27:58Speaker 3: a running back. You know, they're getting over the running
- 28:00Speaker 3: they're getting ready to take him in subpackage and they're
- 28:02Speaker 3: in Manta man on either the running back or the
- 28:04Speaker 3: tight end right.
- 28:05Speaker 2: Or they you know, they could be a run blitz
- 28:06Speaker 2: situation or.
- 28:07Speaker 4: Something like that. And Doug's very good at that to
- 28:09Speaker 4: your point, Freddy, I mean, he's very good around the
- 28:11Speaker 4: line of scrimmage coming forward. I always think Douger is
- 28:14Speaker 4: much better when he's moving forward.
- 28:16Speaker 3: Yeah, backward, that's fair, that's fair.
- 28:18Speaker 2: We talked about uh Mayo's press cottage. You heard it
- 28:21Speaker 2: as well, anything that you took out from it, No, No,
- 28:26Speaker 2: you know.
- 28:26Speaker 3: I mean I I think this is what is it like?
- 28:28Speaker 3: Non negotiables, these things a kind of going back to
- 28:31Speaker 3: re establish who we want to be going into a
- 28:33Speaker 3: game like this, and you know, kind of reflecting on
- 28:35Speaker 3: our show yesterday a little bit like I was just
- 28:38Speaker 3: I kind of having trouble, like getting really upset right
- 28:40Speaker 3: now about the team. Like I just I kind of
- 28:42Speaker 3: feel like this is what it's going to be like
- 28:44Speaker 3: the rebuilding, Like there's gonna be weeks where they look
- 28:47Speaker 3: like they got nothing like Sharon Hi, It's totally Sharon
- 28:50Speaker 3: High which I'll be calling. Tune in sharing TV eight
- 28:52Speaker 3: on Friday night at five thirty. I'll be broadcasting the
- 28:55Speaker 3: Attleborough game.
- 28:55Speaker 4: Now, profession that's going to be that's going to be
- 28:59Speaker 4: a game.
- 29:00Speaker 3: Of course not but I'm I'm on the board, so
- 29:02Speaker 3: you know.
- 29:02Speaker 4: I'm on the board.
- 29:03Speaker 3: We're grooming young children like a free hot dog shoot man.
- 29:09Speaker 3: That's why I didn't want to work that into my contract.
- 29:11Speaker 3: I don't even know, but you.
- 29:12Speaker 4: Know, ready, welcome to Sharon High School. I Mike Youse,
- 29:17Speaker 4: Reaudable Hawk, I Moocka League action tonight between.
- 29:20Speaker 3: The Marauders the something or others that might be North
- 29:27Speaker 3: battle Borough.
- 29:28Speaker 2: It was like twelve people.
- 29:29Speaker 4: Uh.
- 29:30Speaker 3: But I think getting back, uh, just getting back to
- 29:33Speaker 3: the basics for this team, and that's you know, it's like,
- 29:35Speaker 3: I don't know what they're going to be. I don't
- 29:37Speaker 3: know how good they're really going to be. But at
- 29:38Speaker 3: least this week, can we just not have free rushers
- 29:41Speaker 3: running right up the gut and you know, just the
- 29:43Speaker 3: stupid mistakes that any team should be able to clear.
- 29:46Speaker 3: I don't know what it looks like if they do
- 29:47Speaker 3: play those. I guess I do know what it looks like.
- 29:49Speaker 3: It looks like week one, right, Like, that's what it
- 29:50Speaker 3: looks like week one, if you're able to play clean
- 29:52Speaker 3: like that. But I think that's got to be the
- 29:54Speaker 3: message because they're up against it this week against San Francisco. Man,
- 29:57Speaker 3: if they don't, you know, if they don't bring a
- 29:58Speaker 3: good fundamental game, it's it could be ugly. It's ten
- 30:01Speaker 3: and a half, ten and a half points. I mean,
- 30:03Speaker 3: it's pretty that's that's I mean. I don't remember what
- 30:05Speaker 3: the spreads were last year, but maybe.
- 30:07Speaker 4: There's only one or two time they've been double digit
- 30:09Speaker 4: underdogs since the century. In the century.
- 30:14Speaker 3: I believe it.
- 30:15Speaker 4: I believe it.
- 30:16Speaker 3: I mean I want to see it.
- 30:17Speaker 2: I would imagine that maybe either all of them came
- 30:21Speaker 2: in two thousand and then the last four years, right.
- 30:24Speaker 4: Well, probably last year it was one, and then probably
- 30:27Speaker 4: in two thousand there was one or two. I think
- 30:30Speaker 4: the Colts in two thousand was one. Yeah, maybe even
- 30:35Speaker 4: oh one.
- 30:36Speaker 2: You're gonna ask me to remember back then?
- 30:38Speaker 3: Come on, no, so what so what was the consist
- 30:42Speaker 3: So I have a question for you.
- 30:43Speaker 2: You on yesterday's show, you made the point. It wasn't
- 30:47Speaker 2: a point. It was like, you know, something you were
- 30:49Speaker 2: thinking about. You know, maybe in the background they're coming
- 30:53Speaker 2: up with this other offense that Drake made for Drake
- 30:56Speaker 2: May blah blah blah. Yeah. And then I was listening
- 30:58Speaker 2: to Paul's show this, but Dodd was almost verbatim saying
- 31:03Speaker 2: what you said. So I'm thinking, did Mike read that
- 31:06Speaker 2: something or no?
- 31:07Speaker 4: I credit you.
- 31:08Speaker 3: I mean I I kind of took it from what
- 31:10Speaker 3: you were saying of if they try to put Drake
- 31:12Speaker 3: May into this offense, it's not gonna work. So I
- 31:16Speaker 3: credit I point back to you and your initials.
- 31:18Speaker 2: Just be great minds thinking of I think so, I.
- 31:20Speaker 3: Mean, it's all from a seed that you planned Fred,
- 31:22Speaker 3: which just happened many times before. But yeah, I mean, I.
- 31:26Speaker 2: Paul thinks that, but DoD just watched.
- 31:29Speaker 4: Well, I do think that because Greg has told me
- 31:31Speaker 4: that he was we're thought leaders. I'd like to take
- 31:33Speaker 4: that as a complement.
- 31:34Speaker 2: No, no, no, I'm not. I'm only kidding Greg, but
- 31:37Speaker 2: like it makes sense for anyone to think that.
- 31:39Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, yeah, I mean, I'm thinking more about it.
- 31:42Speaker 3: It's just like every quarterback has the offense kind of
- 31:45Speaker 3: tailored to them along the way, right, Like Brady probably
- 31:48Speaker 3: got in it wasn't tailor to him, but then you know,
- 31:50Speaker 3: cut to the end of the thing, it's all tailored
- 31:52Speaker 3: to him. So that's the direction any good offense should go.
- 31:55Speaker 3: And your thought of trying to pigeon shoehorn in Drake
- 31:59Speaker 3: may into this offense, you know. And I got to
- 32:02Speaker 3: imagine if I was Draw Mayo interviewing Alex Van Pelt
- 32:04Speaker 3: last spring and said, look, we're going to draft a quarterback.
- 32:08Speaker 3: Are you going to be ready to develop that kid
- 32:10Speaker 3: into something new and not just here's our playbook, this
- 32:13Speaker 3: is what he's going to be.
- 32:14Speaker 4: Running for How are you going to maximize his potential?
- 32:17Speaker 4: What are you going to do to make him better?
- 32:19Speaker 2: What are you going to do to make him better?
- 32:20Speaker 2: But again, like we said yesterday, there's other people on
- 32:24Speaker 2: this offense. So if what they're doing right now under
- 32:27Speaker 2: Jacoby Brissett is so different than what they're going to
- 32:29Speaker 2: do when Drake May gets and that's a disservice to
- 32:32Speaker 2: the current players out there on the field.
- 32:35Speaker 4: And I don't as long as Alex van Pelt is
- 32:37Speaker 4: running the offense, I do not think it will be
- 32:39Speaker 4: all that much different. I don't, I think. But the
- 32:44Speaker 4: other part of what you just said I find interesting
- 32:46Speaker 4: is there's other guys on the offense. I don't think,
- 32:50Speaker 4: as an example, the offensive lineman, the individual offensive linemen
- 32:54Speaker 4: are best suited for that system either. Yeah, you know,
- 32:56Speaker 4: Michael Wenny is one that we talk about all the
- 32:58Speaker 4: time as a bit bigger, sort of roadue grader, and
- 33:02Speaker 4: then you're asking him to get on the move and
- 33:05Speaker 4: work that way, work laterally instead of north south. So
- 33:09Speaker 4: I don't think that's probably in the best interest either. Now,
- 33:12Speaker 4: it's a good system, I mean, we can all there's
- 33:14Speaker 4: a lot of offenses around.
- 33:15Speaker 2: For it, Like some people tell me it's antiquated a
- 33:18Speaker 2: little bit.
- 33:19Speaker 4: Well, I don't know. It seems to work pretty well
- 33:20Speaker 4: and you know other other locales.
- 33:24Speaker 2: But isn't I heard that the a VP system isn't exactly.
- 33:28Speaker 4: It's not, it's not. Well, that's the difference between you.
- 33:30Speaker 2: Got a lot of West Coast principles.
- 33:32Speaker 4: Yeah, we'll figure out what a VP is. As a
- 33:34Speaker 4: play call. I have three games to go off. Yeah,
- 33:36Speaker 4: I mean I Sean McVay, you know, Kyle Shanahan, even
- 33:40Speaker 4: Zach Taylor, you know, uh, you know Lafleur, Green Bay.
- 33:47Speaker 4: Maybe dogger wrench, dodger wrench, you can dodge a ball
- 33:52Speaker 4: like Ye, there's the principles of that system have been
- 33:55Speaker 4: successful around the league. We'll see if Alex van pel
- 33:58Speaker 4: can be successful with them. They're not very successful in
- 34:01Speaker 4: Cleveland with or without Van Pelt.
- 34:04Speaker 3: Right now, I just I think this is a little
- 34:06Speaker 3: bit where I feel out of my depth in that
- 34:09Speaker 3: what's the difference between a scheme and a playbook and
- 34:12Speaker 3: plays and you know, all these schemes are the same,
- 34:16Speaker 3: but yet they're all different. And so who's to say
- 34:19Speaker 3: that there aren't parts of this playbook that fit Drake
- 34:21Speaker 3: May well, and there are also parts of the playbook
- 34:23Speaker 3: that might fit your Kobe Brissette a little bit better
- 34:25Speaker 3: at this point. You know, I don't know.
- 34:27Speaker 4: I just if you have Drake may under center a
- 34:32Speaker 4: lot of the time, yeah, yeah, I don't think way to.
- 34:35Speaker 4: I don't think that that maximizes his skill set. I'm
- 34:37Speaker 4: not saying, yeah, you got to go all college and
- 34:40Speaker 4: just have him in the shotgun every play, because I
- 34:42Speaker 4: don't think that works in the NFL either. But if
- 34:45Speaker 4: you're just going to insist on running seventy five eighty
- 34:49Speaker 4: percent under center, I don't think that's the best way
- 34:52Speaker 4: to get something.
- 34:52Speaker 2: I get worried. Like in today's NFL, an offensive system
- 34:56Speaker 2: that relies on you running the ball well in order
- 34:59Speaker 2: for your offense to work, I think that's that's scary.
- 35:02Speaker 2: In today's This isn't like the early two thousands in
- 35:05Speaker 2: Denver with you know.
- 35:08Speaker 9: It's a good it's a good picks It's system, which
- 35:13Speaker 9: goes back to you know, the Niners days with Walsh
- 35:16Speaker 9: and already.
- 35:17Speaker 2: I mean that's things are different because it just seems
- 35:20Speaker 2: to me, if teams want to stop the run, they're
- 35:22Speaker 2: going to stop the run.
- 35:23Speaker 4: You know, I kind of think it's one of those things.
- 35:26Speaker 4: It's kind of a mindset, like I'm just gonna just say, Okay,
- 35:30Speaker 4: you're not gonna run the ball anymore on me if
- 35:32Speaker 4: I if I choose to do that, and I'm gonna
- 35:35Speaker 4: load up the box, I'm gonna just play run and
- 35:37Speaker 4: I'm gonna make sure you don't run. Why do you
- 35:39Speaker 4: think it's so hard for teams at the end of
- 35:42Speaker 4: the game when they just need a first down to
- 35:44Speaker 4: end it. Why do you think it's so hard to
- 35:46Speaker 4: just line up?
- 35:47Speaker 2: I know see that running the ball dependency only works
- 35:53Speaker 2: if your defense is above average and can keep that
- 35:57Speaker 2: score down because you're If not, then you're gonna fall behind. Probably.
- 36:03Speaker 4: No, But like Baltimore, right, the Ravens the other day,
- 36:06Speaker 4: they're as good running the football as any team, right.
- 36:08Speaker 2: But they haven't every quarterback.
- 36:10Speaker 4: No, no, but my point, I'm agreeing with you. If
- 36:13Speaker 4: you just give me five seconds. Okay, Baltimore is as
- 36:15Speaker 4: good as anybody running the football. But all of a sudden,
- 36:19Speaker 4: you know, the roof is caving in on I'm it
- 36:21Speaker 4: goes from twenty eight to six to twenty eight, twenty
- 36:23Speaker 4: five at the end of the game. They have three plays.
- 36:26Speaker 4: They just need to get a first down and get
- 36:28Speaker 4: the hell out of Dallas with a win. They didn't
- 36:31Speaker 4: line up and run it because they couldn't. They ran
- 36:34Speaker 4: it all day for like two hundred yards. Dereck Henry
- 36:37Speaker 4: had a big game. Lamar was Lamar. But at the
- 36:41Speaker 4: end of the game, when you're just lining up and
- 36:43Speaker 4: running it between the tackles to try to run out
- 36:45Speaker 4: the clock, Henry almost fumbled on one of the plays.
- 36:47Speaker 4: He got hit at the line. He jumped over a
- 36:49Speaker 4: guy and the ball was kind of loose. What did
- 36:52Speaker 4: they have to do? It was like third and seven.
- 36:54Speaker 4: They had to throw a past as a Flowers to
- 36:56Speaker 4: end the game. Because when the other team knows you're
- 36:58Speaker 4: running and they just decided you're not running, right, In
- 37:02Speaker 4: general terms, it's very hard to run in those situations.
- 37:05Speaker 4: It's not impossible. Saw the Patriots do it opening week
- 37:08Speaker 4: against Cincinnati. I think that had more to do, especially
- 37:11Speaker 4: based on what we've seen since with Cincinnati than anything else.
- 37:14Speaker 2: But even the Shanahan Tree offenses, and so you're talking
- 37:20Speaker 2: McVeigh and all those those aren't they don't rely on
- 37:23Speaker 2: the running game, right, Aren't they pass first?
- 37:25Speaker 4: Teams. No, no, no, definitely not San Francisco. Yeah, well
- 37:29Speaker 4: they want to run.
- 37:30Speaker 2: The McCaffrey's a different animal though, you know, but when
- 37:33Speaker 2: he's on the field, you don't know what he's gonna do.
- 37:35Speaker 4: You illustrated the point I made ten minutes into this
- 37:37Speaker 4: show before, Like you can sit here and say, well,
- 37:40Speaker 4: we don't have a left tackle it. You know, I
- 37:43Speaker 4: have a hard time killing Alex van Pelt because when
- 37:47Speaker 4: your guys just do as good as the guys they're blocking,
- 37:49Speaker 4: and you guys just done as good as the guys
- 37:51Speaker 4: that are covering them, Like what do you do? Like,
- 37:54Speaker 4: how do you just You can't mask mask it with
- 37:56Speaker 4: every play you can scheme it up. And you know, Jaco,
- 38:00Speaker 4: we just talked about that nice play action they hit
- 38:02Speaker 4: with the Mario Douglas. I think it was a twenty
- 38:04Speaker 4: two yard game. You can get a play here or
- 38:06Speaker 4: there because you trick them, but you can't trick them
- 38:09Speaker 4: for sixty straight plays. Right, Sometimes you guys have to
- 38:12Speaker 4: be better than their guys, and they don't have enough
- 38:14Speaker 4: guys that are that are on par with the other guys.
- 38:16Speaker 2: Right.
- 38:17Speaker 3: I think it's hard for Joe and it's hard for
- 38:20Speaker 3: this offense. It feels like they're starting at like base
- 38:24Speaker 3: level of this offense and where San Francisco, They've got
- 38:27Speaker 3: so many tweaks in and I mean, you heard them
- 38:29Speaker 3: talk about it in the press conference this morning. There's
- 38:31Speaker 3: so much window dressing, but they all know what they
- 38:33Speaker 3: want to do, and it feels like this Patriots team
- 38:35Speaker 3: is kind of starting ground zero. Where to the point
- 38:38Speaker 3: we just talked about, they are starting off the wide
- 38:40Speaker 3: zone and everything has to look the same like the
- 38:42Speaker 3: wide zone, and if the wide zone is successful, then
- 38:45Speaker 3: we get into play action. But it feels like if
- 38:47Speaker 3: you can't run that wide zone off the right from
- 38:50Speaker 3: the get go, nothing else is gonna work.
- 38:53Speaker 4: And that's the part that I thought was interesting that
- 38:54Speaker 4: Greg talked about yesterday. We said it before you got him, Mike,
- 38:57Speaker 4: just about they haven't been able to establish any wide
- 39:01Speaker 4: zone and now they're not really running a lot of
- 39:04Speaker 4: wide zone running plays, but when they go play action,
- 39:08Speaker 4: it's off of the wide zone. So it's almost telling
- 39:11Speaker 4: the defense this is going to be a I don't
- 39:13Speaker 4: worry about the play action we're gonna run here, because
- 39:16Speaker 4: we're not gonna run it. We're just going to throw
- 39:18Speaker 4: it and They're coming after him. First play of the game,
- 39:20Speaker 4: he gets killed off a play action.
- 39:23Speaker 3: Right turn around right there. It can't happen one other
- 39:25Speaker 3: Just side point I was going to make too about
- 39:27Speaker 3: the the Shanahan offense is I just remember in Denver
- 39:30Speaker 3: in twenty fifteen and high Tower went out and then
- 39:33Speaker 3: it was open season, you know, against the Patriots defense.
- 39:36Speaker 3: I think they lost that game, maybe an overtime. It
- 39:37Speaker 3: was like a forty eight yard run something like that
- 39:39Speaker 3: in Denver. You know what I'm talking about, Harper's muff game.
- 39:42Speaker 3: Harper's muff.
- 39:43Speaker 4: Yeah, games with names.
- 39:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 39:45Speaker 3: Part of that is having that middle linebacker like Juwan.
- 39:49Speaker 4: Bounley and maybe not having a practice squad call up
- 39:51Speaker 4: back to receive a punch in the snow. We were
- 39:53Speaker 4: fourteen in the fourth quarter.
- 39:55Speaker 3: Thought weren't supposed to talk about Harpers muff anymore.
- 39:57Speaker 4: I'm just, you know, off the top of my head
- 39:59Speaker 4: throwing these things out there because that may have may
- 40:02Speaker 4: or may not have happened. You may not have lost
- 40:05Speaker 4: to brock Osweiler.
- 40:07Speaker 2: All right, let's uh, let's get to some of the listeners.
- 40:09Speaker 2: The TPX hotline is eight five to five past five
- 40:12Speaker 2: hundred web radio at patches dot com as the email address.
- 40:16Speaker 2: We'll go to Brad in Ohio.
- 40:17Speaker 10: What's up, Brad, Hi, Good morning guys. How you doing today?
- 40:22Speaker 2: Good? Great?
- 40:24Speaker 7: Good?
- 40:26Speaker 10: So anyway, uh take some insight on some things that
- 40:30Speaker 10: you guys always.
- 40:31Speaker 7: Talk about and so, so, Jakoby Myers has had like
- 40:38Speaker 7: plenty of time for him to throw the ball, right,
- 40:41Speaker 7: I mean that he's got three seconds back, they're like
- 40:45Speaker 7: sometimes even four.
- 40:46Speaker 4: I've counted Jakobe Brissett. Yeah, yeah, No, he's not been
- 40:53Speaker 4: afforded that much time.
- 40:54Speaker 10: I've got no time.
- 40:56Speaker 11: No.
- 40:56Speaker 4: I mean, I'm not telling you every single play, but
- 40:58Speaker 4: he's been pressured on a percentage basis more than any
- 41:01Speaker 4: quarterback in football.
- 41:02Speaker 2: Yeah. But what I don't know is how much it's not.
- 41:08Speaker 2: You know that.
- 41:11Speaker 10: I noticed that sometimes they look at the first three
- 41:14Speaker 10: eve and then but if they were to just look
- 41:18Speaker 10: at the opposite side of the field, there's guys wide open.
- 41:24Speaker 10: I mean examples of that.
- 41:26Speaker 2: Could be deceptive sometimes too.
- 41:27Speaker 4: If that's not the play, then the guy's going to
- 41:29Speaker 4: be open because the defense knows where everybody is.
- 41:33Speaker 2: You have to know where the quarterback sizes are, what
- 41:35Speaker 2: his reeds are, you know.
- 41:36Speaker 4: Like I'm not telling you Jacoby Brissett's play great because
- 41:38Speaker 4: I don't think he has. But this isn't on him.
- 41:41Speaker 10: Can they go backwards in their reads either? It either
- 41:44Speaker 10: Drake made plays I know, just the ones that he
- 41:47Speaker 10: missed that Drake was like not even looking at the
- 41:50Speaker 10: people that were open.
- 41:53Speaker 7: Drake was in there.
- 41:54Speaker 2: I know, Thanks Brad.
- 41:56Speaker 4: I guess we're just going to continue to say things
- 41:58Speaker 4: now I can be disregardless, but.
- 42:02Speaker 2: Overall this is stuff that only the coaches know for sure.
- 42:06Speaker 2: But like when you see those replays and you see
- 42:08Speaker 2: guys wide open and the plays happening, you need to
- 42:12Speaker 2: pair it up with you know, when did the ball
- 42:15Speaker 2: get released? When did the defender come often because he
- 42:18Speaker 2: knew the play wasn't going there, so like I don't
- 42:21Speaker 2: need to worry about it. And what was the initial
- 42:24Speaker 2: read for the quarterback? Like did he even have time
- 42:27Speaker 2: to look at that side of the field?
- 42:29Speaker 4: And if he's supposed to do something, you can't just
- 42:32Speaker 4: do the opposite because the other guys open over the right.
- 42:35Speaker 4: Like you're supposed to go through your progressions and there's
- 42:38Speaker 4: a there's absolutely you know a one two three or whatever.
- 42:43Speaker 4: There's things that you're supposed to do. And if you're
- 42:47Speaker 4: going one way, let's just say you're looking right, because
- 42:50Speaker 4: the play is designed for something that's that's on the
- 42:53Speaker 4: right side, and it's not there. Then you turn back
- 42:56Speaker 4: left and the guys open. What happens on those.
- 42:58Speaker 3: Throws, many guys are going to come on or run
- 43:00Speaker 3: and pick it off right.
- 43:01Speaker 4: I think you know when you're late to the outside,
- 43:05Speaker 4: that's what happens. And Fred's absolutely right. There's a lot
- 43:09Speaker 4: of I hate again, I hate the clips that show
- 43:13Speaker 4: me how open guys are. Watch this guy get watch
- 43:16Speaker 4: the quarterback's eyes or over here. You don't think the
- 43:19Speaker 4: defensive back sees that.
- 43:21Speaker 3: Yeah, like, and.
- 43:23Speaker 4: I'm not telling you can't. Like, if you had great time,
- 43:26Speaker 4: great pass protection, maybe you're getting to your third fourth
- 43:29Speaker 4: read and you can come backside and readjust reset and
- 43:34Speaker 4: make make some plays. But that's hard.
- 43:37Speaker 3: Just some of the stuff I've picked out over the
- 43:38Speaker 3: ears is there are times when you're not even you're
- 43:40Speaker 3: you're looking side. You have you're playing man beaters on
- 43:43Speaker 3: one side and zone beaters on the right, and if
- 43:45Speaker 3: you get zone, you're playing the right side the whole time.
- 43:47Speaker 3: No matter what happens. On that last side, you're almost
- 43:49Speaker 3: disregarding it. So I hate that stuff. But I will
- 43:52Speaker 3: say there are plays like that second downplay to Hooper
- 43:54Speaker 3: where there it is he's staring them down, and those
- 43:57Speaker 3: are the plays that happened a lot of it. There
- 44:00Speaker 3: are some throws that need to be made that I
- 44:02Speaker 3: you know, I've been a little disappointed with Jacobe because
- 44:04Speaker 3: I just I know how hard it is for him
- 44:06Speaker 3: right now. But you need to be able to pull
- 44:08Speaker 3: some of those plays out the layups to keep them honest,
- 44:11Speaker 3: you know, when we don't even hit the layups.
- 44:12Speaker 4: It was a great keip of Cleveland and the Giants.
- 44:16Speaker 4: There was a fourth and one late in the game
- 44:18Speaker 4: that Cleveland somehow got back in that game. Had the
- 44:20Speaker 4: ball down six and there's a fourth and one around
- 44:23Speaker 4: the forty forty five yard line and they have like
- 44:27Speaker 4: two to the to the right hand side, and clearly
- 44:29Speaker 4: it's a quick It's supposed to be a quick throw
- 44:32Speaker 4: right out. You're going to have the inside slot. You know,
- 44:35Speaker 4: they're crossing, so they're looking for a wash a rub
- 44:38Speaker 4: and the guy underneath is immediately breaks open. The throw
- 44:42Speaker 4: needed to come immediately. He was open, Yeah, and then
- 44:45Speaker 4: he waits. He's looking for the slants from the outside guy,
- 44:49Speaker 4: which was kind of covered, and he holds the ball
- 44:52Speaker 4: and then the Giants kill him. So I'm not telling
- 44:54Speaker 4: you that Brissette has been flawless like Watson on that play.
- 44:58Speaker 4: I think needed to get the all out quickly to
- 45:02Speaker 4: I don't know if it was a back or a
- 45:04Speaker 4: slot receiver, but in the flat and not only he
- 45:06Speaker 4: would have had an easy first down, he probably would
- 45:08Speaker 4: add about fifteen yards because he broke free immediately. So
- 45:13Speaker 4: I think there have been times that Bresset to the
- 45:16Speaker 4: was it Brad just called? To Brad's point, I think
- 45:19Speaker 4: there's times that Brissett has missed a quick one, but
- 45:22Speaker 4: not necessarily backside, like that's not quick if he's looking
- 45:26Speaker 4: the wrong you know, if he's looking the other way,
- 45:29Speaker 4: that's he doesn't have enough time to get to that read.
- 45:32Speaker 4: But I do think there have been you know, Polk, Douglas,
- 45:38Speaker 4: probably Henry have been opened quickly and he hasn't gotten
- 45:41Speaker 4: the ball to him.
- 45:42Speaker 3: And then the hope would be that they're going to
- 45:44Speaker 3: evolve and they're going to see those things and they're
- 45:45Speaker 3: gonna say we have to lean more into these plays
- 45:47Speaker 3: because it's so hard right now for this offense to
- 45:50Speaker 3: have plus plays. Even you can't afford to leave ones
- 45:53Speaker 3: out on the field when they're there for the taken.
- 45:56Speaker 2: Let's see Jeffrey and Canada said, just check my local listings.
- 46:00Speaker 2: And because this is a Fox game, this is the
- 46:02Speaker 2: first time in probably twenty five years I can remember,
- 46:06Speaker 2: I will not be able to watch the Patriots live
- 46:09Speaker 2: sign of the times for this organization. So for this
- 46:12Speaker 2: selfish reason, please feel free to keep for set in
- 46:15Speaker 2: for one more week. How does that? I don't understand.
- 46:18Speaker 4: Where is he?
- 46:19Speaker 2: Does he not want to watch?
- 46:21Speaker 4: No, he can't watch that. He doesn't have Fox. So
- 46:23Speaker 4: he says, keep her sett in so he doesn't miss May.
- 46:28Speaker 4: Oh he's got to miss the game. He can't watch it. Oh,
- 46:31Speaker 4: so he doesn't want them to play May he doesn't
- 46:33Speaker 4: want to miss May.
- 46:35Speaker 2: Get it? I get it? Okay, thank you, right, yeah,
- 46:39Speaker 2: you got it. My question. I seem to recall there
- 46:42Speaker 2: was a deal where Elliott Wolfe's contract needed to extend
- 46:45Speaker 2: or be made permanent, and it was after the draft.
- 46:48Speaker 2: This was due to happen. Did that happen? Is Elliot
- 46:51Speaker 2: the official guy? I thought they'd have done the search
- 46:54Speaker 2: and satisfy rules, et cetera.
- 46:55Speaker 3: Yeah, they made the announcement. Forget what the exact date was,
- 46:59Speaker 3: but I think executive vice president.
- 47:01Speaker 4: Player personally, that was the one that had the duties
- 47:04Speaker 4: in it, like he has final say over the fifty
- 47:06Speaker 4: three man roster and blah blah blah. May ish May
- 47:12Speaker 4: sometime in May. Yeah, not Drake May the month of May.
- 47:17Speaker 2: Now mayo Eduardo right, Sin, he's in la I just
- 47:22Speaker 2: want to ask, can either Taekwon or Pop be used
- 47:26Speaker 2: more like gadget guys, like how the Packers use read
- 47:30Speaker 2: Maybe it can add stress to the defense getting the
- 47:32Speaker 2: ball in the hands of Taekwon where all he should
- 47:35Speaker 2: do is hit the burners or Pop who was more
- 47:38Speaker 2: shifty and can make some guys miss anything really to
- 47:42Speaker 2: help the defense move.
- 47:43Speaker 4: They did that Thursday night with Tomorroo Douglas. Yeah, he
- 47:47Speaker 4: got an end around, He got a quick screen, ran
- 47:50Speaker 4: about eight hundred miles to total what eight yards? I
- 47:54Speaker 4: think he had like a seven yard run and a
- 47:55Speaker 4: one yard screen, but he ran and crossed the field
- 47:58Speaker 4: on both of them.
- 47:59Speaker 3: Yeah, you've talked about Marcus Jones two in that role.
- 48:01Speaker 4: I think Marcus Jones is special with the ball in
- 48:04Speaker 4: his hands. So I wouldn't be opposed to that.
- 48:06Speaker 3: I just don't think it's right fit for Taekwon. I mean,
- 48:08Speaker 3: he's just he's tall, he's linear. I think he's improved
- 48:11Speaker 3: in some of like his sudden ability to break routes
- 48:14Speaker 3: you know where it's you know, because it used to
- 48:16Speaker 3: be very measured and kind of he would gather himself
- 48:19Speaker 3: and everybody could see it. And I think that's why
- 48:20Speaker 3: he had such a hard time with contested catches. But
- 48:23Speaker 3: I just I think his play is the overs, you know,
- 48:26Speaker 3: like just run full speed over the whole defenses.
- 48:28Speaker 4: Can I just ask you this about Taekwon Thornton and
- 48:33Speaker 4: do you ever think he looks natural and fluid on
- 48:36Speaker 4: the football field.
- 48:39Speaker 2: No, there's been.
- 48:39Speaker 3: There were maybe a couple of times in camp that
- 48:41Speaker 3: he did, and I was surprised because it felt like
- 48:44Speaker 3: that seems like he made to play there, like I
- 48:46Speaker 3: haven't been. I know what you're getting at, and I
- 48:48Speaker 3: would agree with you.
- 48:49Speaker 4: And I don't. I don't. It's a weird thing because
- 48:52Speaker 4: it doesn't make any sense, and it I get like
- 48:55Speaker 4: football people would laugh at me. I just there's a
- 48:58Speaker 4: look that he does look right in the uniform. To me,
- 49:01Speaker 4: I don't know, like I don't know why. And I'm
- 49:03Speaker 4: not talking about like Mike's things with the helmet.
- 49:06Speaker 3: Or skinny yea, get it, like elevens making them look he.
- 49:10Speaker 4: Just doesn't look like like if you looked onto the field.
- 49:15Speaker 4: In my opinion, there's like fifty guys that look pretty
- 49:18Speaker 4: similar and there's like two or three guys that he
- 49:21Speaker 4: doesn't look the same in the uniform as everybody else.
- 49:23Speaker 4: And I think Killing is one of those guys. He
- 49:25Speaker 4: just kind of just doesn't look the part. It's probably
- 49:29Speaker 4: wildly unfair. Like talk about an eyeball test, I'm trying
- 49:34Speaker 4: to do an eyeball test on how he fills out
- 49:36Speaker 4: a uniform. Like I think it looks like his neck,
- 49:39Speaker 4: like his long like you use the word like long
- 49:42Speaker 4: and linear, yeah, just very you know. And that's how
- 49:45Speaker 4: we look at the straight line like a big target
- 49:47Speaker 4: to hit.
- 49:48Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 49:48Speaker 4: And I think of him on one of those end
- 49:50Speaker 4: of rounds if there's like a linebacker coming over there and.
- 49:54Speaker 3: You think about how hard it is to like hit
- 49:56Speaker 3: Tybreek Kill in those places, to hit.
- 49:59Speaker 4: Even to the ground. But Douglas turning up field, they
- 50:02Speaker 4: had him snuff. He didn't get any yards, but they
- 50:04Speaker 4: had him snuffed out four times.
- 50:06Speaker 2: And he just makes people.
- 50:07Speaker 4: He just keeps like moving around and darting back and forth,
- 50:10Speaker 4: a little water bug. Yeah he got no yards, but like, yeah,
- 50:14Speaker 4: he didn't get tackled the first time someone had a
- 50:16Speaker 4: chance to tackle him. I think Thornton in general is
- 50:18Speaker 4: gonna get tackled. Yeah, it's funny.
- 50:20Speaker 3: We've gotten to this point though. I feel like Week three,
- 50:22Speaker 3: three games, and we had all these receivers in camp,
- 50:24Speaker 3: and how's it all gonna play out? And I feel
- 50:26Speaker 3: like we got to this point and I'm like, Okay.
- 50:28Speaker 4: When's Bourne coming back? We've gotten there already.
- 50:30Speaker 3: I like Polk, I like Pop, and we need Born
- 50:33Speaker 3: back and like those are those are the three. Those
- 50:36Speaker 3: are the three guys that.
- 50:37Speaker 4: I'm even worse. You know, I don't like anything I
- 50:40Speaker 4: do on like anything I've seen from any of the receivers.
- 50:43Speaker 4: You know, you can take your six for sixty nine and.
- 50:46Speaker 2: Bryan and Pli writes in I know the Patriots and
- 50:49Speaker 2: coaches can't make excuses, but fans can at least wonder
- 50:53Speaker 2: about the causes. Does the current state of the team
- 50:56Speaker 2: come down to the perfect storm of everything being new coaches,
- 50:59Speaker 2: assistance scheme, et cetera. And then an onslaught of injuries.
- 51:03Speaker 2: Just when you maybe had a group pulling injuries in
- 51:06Speaker 2: the same direction in the offseason, you lose bar More,
- 51:09Speaker 2: jude On low So then Bentley, et cetera. Are we
- 51:13Speaker 2: looking at the difference between good established teams who make
- 51:16Speaker 2: the right adjustments following injuries versus teams like the Patriots
- 51:20Speaker 2: painfully lacking depth in a new system with green coaches.
- 51:25Speaker 4: I think they painfully lack talent with green coaches, which
- 51:29Speaker 4: is not a good combination. And I put this more
- 51:33Speaker 4: on Bill, like I think he left a bad roster,
- 51:37Speaker 4: or at the very least a flawed roster. I mean
- 51:40Speaker 4: an onslaught of injuries recounting Matt jude On is one
- 51:43Speaker 4: of those. We're counting Vederian Lowe as one of those.
- 51:45Speaker 4: I mean, like, if I had told you six weeks
- 51:48Speaker 4: ago that Venerian Lowe is going to get hurt, your
- 51:51Speaker 4: your response would have been and so he'll wind up
- 51:54Speaker 4: on IR and get a free paycheck out of it. Yeah,
- 51:57Speaker 4: that's what your response would have been. So like it's
- 52:00Speaker 4: Christian Barmore enormous loss like enormous loss. Best player on
- 52:05Speaker 4: the team in my opinion, Juwan Bentley, that's a big loss.
- 52:11Speaker 4: Those are two big injuries. Yeah, I'm sorry if I
- 52:13Speaker 4: can't put Venerian Low and City. So with those two
- 52:16Speaker 4: like that's yeah. I mean, you're not going to have
- 52:19Speaker 4: all five offensive linemen play, and they don't have five
- 52:22Speaker 4: starting caliber offensive linemen. They probably have two, and Andrews
- 52:26Speaker 4: is gonna win.
- 52:27Speaker 3: And there's arrows going around. I mean you pointed the arrow, Bill,
- 52:29Speaker 3: I mean you could point the air a little bit
- 52:30Speaker 3: of Elliot Wolf two for not doing more at the
- 52:32Speaker 3: tackle position and not having He didn't fix those better guys.
- 52:35Speaker 4: He didn't fix it.
- 52:36Speaker 3: You know, you're stuck going in with the guys we've
- 52:38Speaker 3: talked about practice squad guys, journyman kind of guys. But
- 52:41Speaker 3: at the same time, like I kind of expect to
- 52:43Speaker 3: get rolled a few times this year, Like that's just
- 52:45Speaker 3: the nature of this whole thing. Like, you know, I
- 52:48Speaker 3: don't expect every week to come out and be like, man,
- 52:50Speaker 3: perfect game. Just didn't have quite enough talent, Like they're
- 52:53Speaker 3: still trying.
- 52:54Speaker 4: Did you say, like when you first came in, something
- 52:56Speaker 4: along the lines of I'm having a hard time getting
- 52:58Speaker 4: really upset about where the team is that now, that
- 53:00Speaker 4: was today, right.
- 53:02Speaker 3: About twenty minutes ago. You guys were so passionate.
- 53:04Speaker 4: I mean, Evan was leading the charge, and I think
- 53:06Speaker 4: that's a perfect and I was, like, perfectly put, like,
- 53:09Speaker 4: I have a hard time right getting my pitchforks out
- 53:13Speaker 4: for what's going on and during a season that this
- 53:15Speaker 4: is exactly what I expect.
- 53:17Speaker 2: What did you expect?
- 53:18Speaker 4: Right?
- 53:18Speaker 3: I mean I think there are things that like you
- 53:20Speaker 3: can be critical of, like and I want to see
- 53:22Speaker 3: the offensive line just get better, get above the easy mistakes.
- 53:26Speaker 3: That's what I said at the top two. But like
- 53:28Speaker 3: this defense is what it is like if you're expecting
- 53:31Speaker 3: them to go out there and shut down San Francisco
- 53:32Speaker 3: this week, Like I'd like some of what you're on
- 53:35Speaker 3: because it's hard to make that leap and it's hard
- 53:37Speaker 3: to see. It's hard to even really sell my cell phone. Well,
- 53:40Speaker 3: guys will get better on defense, but I think we've
- 53:42Speaker 3: seen kind of most of the guys that are playing
- 53:44Speaker 3: on defense, aside from maybe Gonzales and White, we know
- 53:47Speaker 3: what their ceilings kind of are. We know who they are.
- 53:49Speaker 4: It's going to take time.
- 53:51Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's not going to be easy.
- 53:53Speaker 4: You know, you know.

- 55:55Speaker 6: When someone accidentally threw away the school play costumes, no

- 56:04Speaker 6: everyone could focus on the perfect opening night FedEx where
- 56:08Speaker 6: now it's next for residential delivery.
- 56:10Speaker 13: Only good afternoon, all right, no one, juice, today's all right.
- 56:18Speaker 13: Look excited to get back on the on the practice field.
- 56:21Speaker 13: Talked about Monday really being about nep and handling things
- 56:24Speaker 13: that have shown.
- 56:24Speaker 14: Up over the past three weeks.
- 56:26Speaker 15: I thought those guys went out there and did a
- 56:28Speaker 15: good job correcting those mistakes, you know, with the realization
- 56:31Speaker 15: that there will be other things that pop up throughout
- 56:33Speaker 15: the season. Now excited really to turn a page onto
- 56:37Speaker 15: San Franz. But before we get there, so you know,
- 56:41Speaker 15: we lost one of our captains and uh and Bentley
- 56:45Speaker 15: Now he's done a great job for us both on
- 56:47Speaker 15: and off the field, a leader in the locker room,
- 56:50Speaker 15: all that stuff. So we'll be putting Bentley on injured
- 56:53Speaker 15: reserve later on today. Now I'm saying that, you know,
- 56:57Speaker 15: I thought it was important and just go back and
- 56:59Speaker 15: kind of talk about my experience as you guys know
- 57:01Speaker 15: that there are a few seasons there where I was
- 57:03Speaker 15: hurt at the end, well more than one, all right,
- 57:05Speaker 15: And so I was a captain seven out of eight years,
- 57:08Speaker 15: but I remember getting hurt early in the season and
- 57:12Speaker 15: then coach approached me and said, hey, do you mind,
- 57:15Speaker 15: you know, bringing in another if we had another captain?
- 57:18Speaker 15: And I didn't, And so I had a conversation with
- 57:21Speaker 15: Bentley and the same thing with him, you know, obviously
- 57:23Speaker 15: not being in the building every single day right now
- 57:26Speaker 15: as he goes through the rehab process.
- 57:28Speaker 14: But I did ask him.
- 57:29Speaker 15: I said, you know, to me, it's important that we
- 57:31Speaker 15: still have, you know, leadership and representation for that side
- 57:35Speaker 15: of the ball. And when we when we did the
- 57:38Speaker 15: votes for captain and once again this is voted on
- 57:40Speaker 15: by their peers, it was very close. It was very close.
- 57:44Speaker 15: And happy to announce today a guy that you know
- 57:47Speaker 15: has done a tremendous job for US has really shown
- 57:50Speaker 15: a lot of growth on the field and off the field,
- 57:53Speaker 15: and that's Kyle Duggar. And so Duggar is now a
- 57:57Speaker 15: captain for US. I wasn't finished my intro, non play good.
- 58:06Speaker 14: I'm not sure. We'll see how it goes.
- 58:08Speaker 15: I don't want to speculate on when he's gonna when
- 58:10Speaker 15: he could return our cameratern I don't want to get
- 58:12Speaker 15: into that.
- 58:13Speaker 14: Thank you.
- 58:18Speaker 15: It's meant a lot. You know, his first year he
- 58:20Speaker 15: came in, you knew he was a physical player, a
- 58:21Speaker 15: small school guy, and so first of all, that's always
- 58:24Speaker 15: a uh, you know, surprise, and he can go either way.
- 58:26Speaker 15: But what I will say is, look, he brings that mentality,
- 58:29Speaker 15: that physicality that you that you want on your defense.
- 58:31Speaker 15: And I would say, was it last year. Last year
- 58:35Speaker 15: he had the green dot quite a bit, and I
- 58:38Speaker 15: think two years ago he had the green green dot
- 58:40Speaker 15: quite a bit as well. But he's able to handle
- 58:42Speaker 15: the communication of the adjustments and he's able to get
- 58:44Speaker 15: guys lined up. And when I talk about growth with Kyle,
- 58:47Speaker 15: like his first couple of years and understanding as a rookie,
- 58:49Speaker 15: you don't really say too much. But the first couple
- 58:52Speaker 15: of years, it was more like he just would go
- 58:54Speaker 15: out there and perform at a high level, but really
- 58:56Speaker 15: didn't have much to do with the communication and stuff
- 58:59Speaker 15: like that and the development of his teammates. And I
- 59:01Speaker 15: would say here, over the last few years, he's done
- 59:03Speaker 15: a tremendous job mentoring, mentoring those young guys and even
- 59:08Speaker 15: the older guys. You know, I had a conversation with
- 59:10Speaker 15: Peppers today and he talked about how important it was
- 59:13Speaker 15: for him to learn from Douggar and Devin and you
- 59:16Speaker 15: know that just talks about his leadership style and you
- 59:19Speaker 15: know it's a little different. It's mostly through, you know,
- 59:22Speaker 15: just the way he approaches the game. But I would
- 59:24Speaker 15: say here, as of late the last you know, this
- 59:26Speaker 15: year and last year, he's been more vocal, which I
- 59:28Speaker 15: definitely appreciate. And everyone doesn't know what's feel comfortable doing that,
- 59:32Speaker 15: but uh, he's been doing that.
- 59:34Speaker 5: Is Bentley is still going to be around a lot
- 59:36Speaker 5: after his surgery and things like that.
- 59:38Speaker 15: Yeah, absolutely, I told Ben, you know once again, you know,
- 59:42Speaker 15: going through that experience, it really helped me.
- 59:45Speaker 14: And it stinks.
- 59:46Speaker 15: It really does stink to have to go on IR,
- 59:48Speaker 15: but you can still be a productive teammate. And so
- 59:51Speaker 15: even when I got hurt, I think you guys know
- 59:52Speaker 15: the story of you know, I started learning how to
- 59:54Speaker 15: break down film and do all those things. And I
- 59:57Speaker 15: look back on it almost as a blessing. But you know,
- 59:59Speaker 15: when you're on IR, you're in the storm. It's kind
- 1:00:02Speaker 15: of hard to see what guy has planned for you.
- 1:00:04Speaker 15: And those three years that I ended up on IR
- 1:00:07Speaker 15: definitely helped me in my transition to coaching, and I
- 1:00:11Speaker 15: think it's important for a guy like Bentley to be
- 1:00:13Speaker 15: around the team, his energy is passion, all of those things.
- 1:00:15Speaker 15: But also you know he'll be on the sidelines because
- 1:00:18Speaker 15: I think you know, from a player's perspective, you know
- 1:00:21Speaker 15: they see, they see a lot of things too, and
- 1:00:22Speaker 15: have another set of eyes and another motivator, another guy
- 1:00:26Speaker 15: that can help get the track, you know, get us
- 1:00:28Speaker 15: on the right track.
- 1:00:29Speaker 14: I think it's important.
- 1:00:30Speaker 15: So as soon as he's able to travel and as
- 1:00:32Speaker 15: soon as he's able to be on the sideline, I
- 1:00:34Speaker 15: fully anticipate that happening.
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: Sounding like a big leap, but a thirty thoughts to
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: Doug or taking some of Beckley's responsibilities in the inside
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: and playing inside and where he won't be able.
- 1:00:44Speaker 15: To playing linebackery. Look, we're very flexible. He's done it before,
- 1:00:50Speaker 15: Peppers has done it before. A guy not out there
- 1:00:53Speaker 15: right now is Marte, which you know would be exciting
- 1:00:56Speaker 15: to get him back out there. He's another candidate for
- 1:00:58Speaker 15: that role you're kind of talking about and saying that.
- 1:01:01Speaker 15: You know, Look, Jilani and Ray Kwan and those guys,
- 1:01:04Speaker 15: they do a good job controlling the front, and I
- 1:01:06Speaker 15: think having a guy like Dougger in the back end
- 1:01:08Speaker 15: who has that communication with the linebackers understands linebacker play,
- 1:01:12Speaker 15: but also can disseminate the information you know, you know,
- 1:01:15Speaker 15: to the side, to the corners, to the stars. I
- 1:01:17Speaker 15: think it's more important for him to be be there.
- 1:01:19Speaker 15: He does rock down, you know, anytime a safety rocks
- 1:01:21Speaker 15: here's my nugget, anytime a safety rocks down into the box,
- 1:01:24Speaker 15: he's really a linebacker at.
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: That point o Sunday's game.
- 1:01:28Speaker 4: But there you go.
- 1:01:31Speaker 11: There to the idea of adding a veteran quarterback to
- 1:01:34Speaker 11: the roster.
- 1:01:35Speaker 16: That's so you have full control.
- 1:01:36Speaker 7: Over when Drake's.
- 1:01:37Speaker 5: Plays, as opposed to having your hands potentially for.
- 1:01:40Speaker 14: Thing that's not in our plans at this current time for.
- 1:01:43Speaker 4: A Sunday's game.
- 1:01:45Speaker 5: What kind of challenge does this forty nine ers offense present,
- 1:01:48Speaker 5: especially with some issues maybe with the personnel right now.
- 1:01:51Speaker 15: Yeah, you know, it's a very unique offense, and I
- 1:01:53Speaker 15: know everyone says it falls off the same tree. But
- 1:01:56Speaker 15: all of these coaches and you can throw you know,
- 1:01:57Speaker 15: Mike McDaniel in the category, they all put their twist
- 1:02:00Speaker 15: on it. I would say with san fran you look
- 1:02:03Speaker 15: at it all three phase. Look, obviously their record's not
- 1:02:05Speaker 15: really reflective of the team that they are and can
- 1:02:09Speaker 15: be going forward. You know they're dealing with injuries as well.
- 1:02:11Speaker 15: What I will say is the challenge for us is
- 1:02:14Speaker 15: just in the front offensive line and defensive line. And
- 1:02:16Speaker 15: I know, I mean, I don't I don't want to
- 1:02:18Speaker 15: sound repetitive, but you know, those got they are do
- 1:02:21Speaker 15: what they do type of team, and like we know
- 1:02:23Speaker 15: what they're gonna do, the fans know what they're gonna do.
- 1:02:26Speaker 14: But you still have to stop them.
- 1:02:27Speaker 15: And they have a lot of good players on that
- 1:02:28Speaker 15: team offensively and defensively, like all pro caliber players almost
- 1:02:33Speaker 15: at every level if you really look at the roster.
- 1:02:35Speaker 15: So it's definitely a challenge. And uh, I think the
- 1:02:37Speaker 15: guys are you know, I tell them all the time,
- 1:02:39Speaker 15: look at as an opportunity to go out there and perform.
- 1:02:42Speaker 4: This is a defining moment the offense.
- 1:02:43Speaker 10: Would you guys want to get that?
- 1:02:45Speaker 16: Offensively said different reminders value to shoot the offense?
- 1:02:48Speaker 14: Which you want how you strike the.
- 1:02:51Speaker 4: Ballance between keeping him out there, wanting to stay out.
- 1:02:55Speaker 16: There and maybe having that conversation with him.
- 1:02:58Speaker 14: About the pumps we've look.
- 1:03:01Speaker 15: We always say that, you know, ball security is job security,
- 1:03:05Speaker 15: and we're all disappointed, and really, you know, three fumbles
- 1:03:09Speaker 15: and he understands that and definitely a point of emphasis
- 1:03:11Speaker 15: today we'll go out there and practice in full pads.
- 1:03:13Speaker 15: Those guys need to be hit, need to get hit.
- 1:03:16Speaker 15: I would also say that I have I have confidence
- 1:03:19Speaker 15: in that room as a whole, not just Remandre. And
- 1:03:21Speaker 15: you know, I think Gibbey's done a good job. Hasty's
- 1:03:24Speaker 15: ready to go. He prepares like a starter every week.
- 1:03:26Speaker 15: But you know, we got we have to take care
- 1:03:28Speaker 15: of the balls.
- 1:03:30Speaker 10: But is there something that.
- 1:03:31Speaker 16: You can get Is it just as easy as you're
- 1:03:34Speaker 16: getting out the hit or is the.
- 1:03:36Speaker 15: Thing is it's not really technique thing? Well, I take
- 1:03:39Speaker 15: that back, it is at times. You know, Remandre is
- 1:03:43Speaker 15: probably top five in the league as far as like
- 1:03:45Speaker 15: breaking tackles. Now that's a dual edged sword. You always
- 1:03:48Speaker 15: want these guys to break tackles and try to make
- 1:03:50Speaker 15: these big explosive plays. But in doing that sometimes the
- 1:03:52Speaker 15: ball gets loose. And we always talk about double in trouble,
- 1:03:55Speaker 15: like if people are around, you put two hands on
- 1:03:57Speaker 15: the football, And it sounds simple to say, but it
- 1:04:01Speaker 15: is hard to do it sometimes, especially when you're trying
- 1:04:03Speaker 15: to get extra yards.
- 1:04:05Speaker 5: Start to the season for such, how was he done,
- 1:04:08Speaker 5: you know, excitability and seen him.
- 1:04:10Speaker 4: Sort of handle himself.
- 1:04:11Speaker 15: He's handled himself like a true professional. We had a
- 1:04:13Speaker 15: captain's meeting today and it wasn't like a big Kumbaya
- 1:04:17Speaker 15: type of meeting. It was more of a you know,
- 1:04:20Speaker 15: let's continue to get better each and every week. And
- 1:04:22Speaker 15: I think that was really the main goal, you know,
- 1:04:24Speaker 15: going into the season, Like I didn't know what the record,
- 1:04:27Speaker 15: what our record would be at this time, but our
- 1:04:28Speaker 15: goal was to get better every week. Now, obviously it
- 1:04:31Speaker 15: was a poor showing in New York, but we'll see
- 1:04:33Speaker 15: what this team is made of going forward. You know,
- 1:04:35Speaker 15: we have a long trip out west and got to
- 1:04:39Speaker 15: be ready to play against a good, solid football.
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: Team and now great moments in.
- 1:04:47Speaker 2: History. Do you stand up on the third level of
- 1:04:50Speaker 2: State look out on the parking lot now and remember
- 1:04:52Speaker 2: what that parking lot used to look for.
- 1:04:54Speaker 17: It was.
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: Like a big flea market park.
- 1:04:58Speaker 4: We got to bring morell into to make sure we
- 1:05:00Speaker 4: were all safe.
- 1:05:01Speaker 2: Yeah, and bring on the marine like just how like.
- 1:05:04Speaker 3: The cement structures of like walking out into the lower
- 1:05:07Speaker 3: level where like you'd kind of come down the ramp,
- 1:05:09Speaker 3: but you'd still be in like this like turret almost
- 1:05:12Speaker 3: like you know, and then you'd come up and oh,
- 1:05:14Speaker 3: here's the stadium.
- 1:05:15Speaker 4: There's a field, like what's right here?
- 1:05:17Speaker 3: You know, but I remember it raining there and it
- 1:05:18Speaker 3: would just be like a river coming through those things,
- 1:05:22Speaker 3: like you know, you couldn't even get to it would
- 1:05:25Speaker 3: come out of the pipe right down the.
- 1:05:27Speaker 2: Stairs and even inside you know, they had that one
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: building in the end zone that was the build off
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: that was there, the locker room, yeah, you know, and
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: everything and the backstairs led down to the locker room
- 1:05:41Speaker 2: and the super box. The rightmell of urine would just
- 1:05:44Speaker 2: wave up into the way.
- 1:05:47Speaker 4: It would wave waft, waft, loft, waft. It was just awful.
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: That's another great moment from.
- 1:05:57Speaker 2: All right back here and Patriots Unfiltered eight five five
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: pass five hundred is the Stiken hutline web radio at
- 1:06:02Speaker 2: patriots dot com is the email address.
- 1:06:04Speaker 4: Some Eric moments.
- 1:06:05Speaker 2: Oh yeah, he was a good source of entertainment.
- 1:06:08Speaker 4: Absolutely, yeah, absolutely.
- 1:06:09Speaker 3: Going down there in the Mayor's office with what's going
- 1:06:12Speaker 3: on in Providence policy.
- 1:06:13Speaker 4: No that's over right, Oh no really?
- 1:06:14Speaker 2: Oh yeah, oh yeah, from what I hear, short lived
- 1:06:18Speaker 2: it's like a month. Yeah, anyway, just before you got here,
- 1:06:23Speaker 2: I announced that we're going to be starting a Patriots
- 1:06:26Speaker 2: Unfiltered newsletter.
- 1:06:27Speaker 4: Oh really, what do you think you putting it together?
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: Yeah, well, we'll have but like an email out email,
- 1:06:33Speaker 2: anyone that emails in will automatically be opted in. If
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: you get it and you don't want it, you can
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: obviously unsubscribe. But it'll have all our picks, the updates.
- 1:06:44Speaker 2: It'll have, you know, a couple of highlights of the week.
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: Maybe we'll have an email of the week, or we'll
- 1:06:50Speaker 2: give away something every week to somebody.
- 1:06:53Speaker 3: You know what we should have. I don't know if
- 1:06:54Speaker 3: we can do this, but it might be add some
- 1:06:55Speaker 3: value because Evan loves to go around talking to guys
- 1:06:58Speaker 3: in the locker room. Maybe Lazar's whisper in the locker room,
- 1:07:00Speaker 3: you know, maybe some little a little idea never.
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: Mind, but Linda says, sign me up. Uh, it's a
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: wonderful idea. Content suggestions. I love the human interest in
- 1:07:11Speaker 2: folk player Q and a community involvement Hall of Fame
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: activity hot topic for the media each week, Opponent Inside
- 1:07:18Speaker 2: each week, Thanks for opening up suggestions to your off audience.
- 1:07:22Speaker 2: Love the PU staff.
- 1:07:24Speaker 4: Thanks for taking us up on that suggestion.
- 1:07:26Speaker 3: That was good so we'll like print it out every
- 1:07:28Speaker 3: week and mail it to everybody.
- 1:07:30Speaker 2: No, no, it won't be a paper thing. It'll be
- 1:07:32Speaker 2: an email.
- 1:07:33Speaker 4: It'll be elect pfwack.
- 1:07:36Speaker 2: It'll be electronic.
- 1:07:37Speaker 3: You're like you like the Wednesday schedule. Now it's actually
- 1:07:39Speaker 3: every Wednesday night. We're gonna have to stay here probably
- 1:07:41Speaker 3: about two am getting it all print, set, copy, right
- 1:07:44Speaker 3: the old You.
- 1:07:46Speaker 4: Really are just trying to push me out. I've known
- 1:07:49Speaker 4: that about you for a What.
- 1:07:51Speaker 3: I'm just talking about, that's that's you.
- 1:07:55Speaker 4: I can tell you.
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: Dana Virginia and Michigan says. Newsletters a great idea. Fred
- 1:07:59Speaker 2: I like to see Paul have a regular column in it.
- 1:08:02Speaker 2: This would be a form for him to hold court
- 1:08:05Speaker 2: and share his thoughts on life, including sharing wisdom from
- 1:08:09Speaker 2: Aren't Camella life lessons he learned growing up on the
- 1:08:12Speaker 2: mean streets of Everett and useful tips like how to
- 1:08:15Speaker 2: find an amenable doctor who isn't going to push you
- 1:08:18Speaker 2: too hard and any lifestyle changes.
- 1:08:21Speaker 3: I like that, I actually have excellent I was gonna say,
- 1:08:24Speaker 3: you gott ask him about getting car inspections. Is what
- 1:08:26Speaker 3: you need?
- 1:08:27Speaker 4: That that that's that's that's a fail.
- 1:08:29Speaker 3: That's a that's a.
- 1:08:30Speaker 4: Lord of the waste one literal.
- 1:08:32Speaker 2: Yeah, but that I mean some of those off topic
- 1:08:36Speaker 2: things are kind of what we're known for, especially in
- 1:08:38Speaker 2: the off season. But like having you know, our pet
- 1:08:41Speaker 2: peeve of the week or things like that.
- 1:08:44Speaker 3: What if I did, like get to know you, like
- 1:08:45Speaker 3: a Reddit thing or something and ask me anything, Yeah,
- 1:08:48Speaker 3: ask Paul anything, and.
- 1:08:49Speaker 4: It wouldn't necessarily have to be about you know, the
- 1:08:51Speaker 4: team scary. Yeah, I could do that.
- 1:08:54Speaker 3: Yeah, it could it be about Jos.
- 1:08:55Speaker 4: Could we have a jaw seg jaws? Jos have to
- 1:08:58Speaker 4: invite you in? Yeah, to answer with me?
- 1:09:01Speaker 2: I think so. I think there's a lot of potential.
- 1:09:05Speaker 4: I'm in Fred, all right, and I think Dan gives
- 1:09:07Speaker 4: a lot of I like that too.
- 1:09:09Speaker 2: All right?
- 1:09:10Speaker 4: Growing up mean streets of Everett, growing growing up Parolo?
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: Yeah, from uh, I say, from Everett to Everest. The
- 1:09:17Speaker 2: Paul Parillo story Micah.
- 1:09:19Speaker 4: Better than the one that was left behind, which is
- 1:09:22Speaker 4: the real Paul Polo?
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: You go like this all you want Micah in South Dakota. Uh,
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: he says Fred read this one says he's deare ident
- 1:09:34Speaker 2: double dogs.
- 1:09:35Speaker 4: Yeah, you have to put my juris on my shoulder
- 1:09:37Speaker 4: and knock it off only Fred.
- 1:09:40Speaker 2: Robert Conrad there right. Fans who are mad at Elliott
- 1:09:45Speaker 2: Wolf are not addressing the offensive line more? Wait let
- 1:09:50Speaker 2: me start again.
- 1:09:52Speaker 4: Can I interrupt you for a second?
- 1:09:54Speaker 2: Who is this from Micah in what South Dakota? Fans
- 1:09:58Speaker 2: who are mad at Elliott Well for not addressing the
- 1:10:01Speaker 2: offensive line more than they did are dumb. In the draft,
- 1:10:07Speaker 2: they went after a couple of receivers and got Caden Wallace.
- 1:10:11Speaker 2: If they did address offensive line, then they wouldn't have
- 1:10:14Speaker 2: tried to get any receivers either, like trying to trade
- 1:10:17Speaker 2: for Brandan Ayuk or sign Calvin Ridley, who stinks. By
- 1:10:20Speaker 2: the way, it was one or the other, and they
- 1:10:22Speaker 2: chose weapons. It's going to be a multi year rebuild
- 1:10:25Speaker 2: since Bill really left us with nothing. Stay patient and
- 1:10:29Speaker 2: let Elliott cook in the off season.
- 1:10:33Speaker 4: I don't agree with only the last sentence, Stay patient
- 1:10:36Speaker 4: and see what happens, like in terms of future roster
- 1:10:39Speaker 4: building the rest of that. What weapons did they get? Yeah, Like,
- 1:10:44Speaker 4: if Jalen Polk hits, he ain't a weapon. If he hits,
- 1:10:48Speaker 4: he's not a weapon. He's a complimentary piece. Jayvon Baker,
- 1:10:53Speaker 4: Let's face it, we haven't underwhelmed. Good words so far,
- 1:10:57Speaker 4: it's not a weapon.
- 1:10:58Speaker 2: Yeah, well, I think he's why.
- 1:11:00Speaker 4: Can't you sign offensive lineman? Why can't why can't you
- 1:11:04Speaker 4: draft an offensive lineman before the third round?
- 1:11:06Speaker 2: I mean Tyron Smith was out there, they chose not
- 1:11:08Speaker 2: to get him. It was a one year deal that
- 1:11:10Speaker 2: the Jets signed, and it was reasonable money. They could
- 1:11:12Speaker 2: have done that. There was things other.
- 1:11:15Speaker 4: Than there were options in the draft that would not
- 1:11:20Speaker 4: have precluded you from getting anything else like this whole
- 1:11:23Speaker 4: like they chose to get the weapons they did. Neither
- 1:11:29Speaker 4: is what they did.
- 1:11:30Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 1:11:30Speaker 2: Well, like if I'm not saying Poker was a good pick,
- 1:11:34Speaker 2: I like we think.
- 1:11:37Speaker 4: Okay, I'm glad you put that in. I don't have
- 1:11:38Speaker 4: a cat.
- 1:11:40Speaker 2: I don't have them. I don't have any problem with
- 1:11:42Speaker 2: them choosing poke over a tackle.
- 1:11:46Speaker 4: I do.
- 1:11:46Speaker 2: I don't.
- 1:11:47Speaker 4: They don't have a tackle.
- 1:11:48Speaker 2: They they didn't have any wide receivers either. They don't
- 1:11:51Speaker 2: have any Just you just were on this show this
- 1:11:53Speaker 2: said I don't like any of them.
- 1:11:55Speaker 4: I don't including him.
- 1:11:56Speaker 2: Okay, but they they don't have a left tackle. I know,
- 1:12:00Speaker 2: but they needed not that.
- 1:12:01Speaker 4: I don't like the left tackles they have. They don't have.
- 1:12:04Speaker 2: That, I understand, But they needed receivers too, they do,
- 1:12:08Speaker 2: or they're just.
- 1:12:09Speaker 4: Tackle they did. Yeah, but they didn't get any left tackle,
- 1:12:13Speaker 4: Fred all right, Like they had wide receivers that we
- 1:12:16Speaker 4: don't like. Yeah, they didn't have a left tackle that
- 1:12:19Speaker 4: we didn't like.
- 1:12:20Speaker 3: I just don't get the rush to what do you
- 1:12:23Speaker 3: want them to do? There's nothing he could have done, Like,
- 1:12:25Speaker 3: I like, you don't think Elliot will sitting out there
- 1:12:27Speaker 3: watching practice being like it's like a flashback. Yeah, I mean,
- 1:12:32Speaker 3: it's okay. It's okay to say, like, this is football,
- 1:12:35Speaker 3: this happens every year. There are probably every team in
- 1:12:37Speaker 3: the league right now was saying, man, we should have
- 1:12:39Speaker 3: maybe focused on this a little bit more in the
- 1:12:40Speaker 3: offseason because now an injury is really biting us in
- 1:12:42Speaker 3: the ass with it. And you know what, it's okay
- 1:12:44Speaker 3: to say that they're missing a piece like and.
- 1:12:45Speaker 4: That they could have done more the other thing. So
- 1:12:47Speaker 4: you put off the left tackle, Okay, that's fine. Maybe
- 1:12:51Speaker 4: you can get one next year. Maybe it'll be in
- 1:12:53Speaker 4: the top five. Maybe you'll get Will Campbell and maybe
- 1:12:55Speaker 4: he's a pro bowler for ten years. And we're saying,
- 1:12:59Speaker 4: let Elliott that's why I said the last sentence of that,
- 1:13:02Speaker 4: you know, let's see what he does and how it reacts.
- 1:13:05Speaker 4: But what's wrong with getting a left tackle more realistically,
- 1:13:11Speaker 4: that maybe takes a little time to settle in. Maybe
- 1:13:15Speaker 4: he has to start at right tackle because maybe he's
- 1:13:18Speaker 4: not ready for left tackle right out of the shoot.
- 1:13:20Speaker 4: Maybe he's you know, like Joe Walt is playing right tackle.
- 1:13:24Speaker 4: I understand because they have Slater at left tackle. And
- 1:13:29Speaker 4: then he, you know, gets hurt the third game of
- 1:13:32Speaker 4: the year, you know, sue him at TA.
- 1:13:37Speaker 2: Yeah, King in San Francisco nailed it.
- 1:13:41Speaker 4: No, Kansas City Kingsley.
- 1:13:44Speaker 2: Having a hard time right, Well, he.
- 1:13:46Speaker 4: Was playing for a guy who was hurt in Jane Morris.
- 1:13:49Speaker 4: Juan Morris is now back, so he's gone to the bench,
- 1:13:52Speaker 4: but he was not playing great. Like that's the more
- 1:13:56Speaker 4: normal thing is the guy doesn't just like hit the
- 1:13:58Speaker 4: ground as a stud, you know, That's my point. Like
- 1:14:02Speaker 4: if you had one now, at least he'd be working
- 1:14:04Speaker 4: through that and then you wouldn't have to worry about
- 1:14:08Speaker 4: it next year as well. Now next year you might
- 1:14:10Speaker 4: get him and he might be working through some growing pains.
- 1:14:13Speaker 4: And I just think that there was an opportunity to
- 1:14:16Speaker 4: at least address to some extent the offensive line, and
- 1:14:20Speaker 4: they chose to.
- 1:14:21Speaker 2: I know that saying, you know, getting Caden Wallace who
- 1:14:25Speaker 2: never played left tackle, is not addressing left tackle.
- 1:14:28Speaker 4: They didn't. First of all, they didn't draft him to
- 1:14:30Speaker 4: play left tackle. But absolutely it's not addressing left tackle.
- 1:14:34Speaker 4: And you saw why that wasn't struggling the other night.
- 1:14:37Speaker 4: That's a guy who he's not a left.
- 1:14:38Speaker 2: A lot of people said he could play left tackle.
- 1:14:41Speaker 2: He didn't at Penn State because he was behind an.
- 1:14:43Speaker 4: Elite Patriots fans said that, I'm just saying not not.
- 1:14:47Speaker 4: The draft evaluators didn't even know if he was a tackle.
- 1:14:50Speaker 14: Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:14:52Speaker 3: I think the point, the bigger point though, and you
- 1:14:54Speaker 3: touched on him, Paul, was that you have to get
- 1:14:55Speaker 3: some of these premium position players. They can't all be
- 1:14:58Speaker 3: free agents and first round picks. You have to find
- 1:15:00Speaker 3: a way to get an edge player who emerges from
- 1:15:04Speaker 3: day two of the draft, day three of the draft,
- 1:15:06Speaker 3: a wide receiver that emerges from the second or third round,
- 1:15:09Speaker 3: because you can't just every even well, next year we'll
- 1:15:11Speaker 3: get the tackle, and then the next year we'll get
- 1:15:12Speaker 3: the wide receiver, and then the next year we'll get
- 1:15:14Speaker 3: the edge of Like you need to start hitting on
- 1:15:16Speaker 3: some of the lower round picks. Like you know, a
- 1:15:18Speaker 3: guy like Layden Robinson, if he works out, that's a
- 1:15:20Speaker 3: really great pick. It's a you know, a day it's
- 1:15:22Speaker 3: gonna exact step in and be able to walk down.
- 1:15:25Speaker 4: Is what you can do with those other spots, you know,
- 1:15:28Speaker 4: and you know, let's go to the receivers. Okay, was
- 1:15:34Speaker 4: there not like an example of a guy that got
- 1:15:37Speaker 4: to I mean like Xavier Worthy of Fred's guy Lad McConkie. Like, like,
- 1:15:43Speaker 4: just because you got Jalen Polk doesn't mean you address
- 1:15:45Speaker 4: your weapons, you know, Like I think Xavier Worthy could
- 1:15:51Speaker 4: be a weapon for the Chiefs. I don't think he's
- 1:15:54Speaker 4: ready to be right now. I don't. He looks very
- 1:15:56Speaker 4: raw to me. I mean obviously can run for dates
- 1:15:59Speaker 4: very fast, but he doesn't look like a guy who's
- 1:16:03Speaker 4: you know, going to catch seventy eighty balls. He looks
- 1:16:05Speaker 4: like he's gonna need some development. But that to me
- 1:16:08Speaker 4: is a weapon.
- 1:16:08Speaker 2: I think I think pop can be a weapon, one
- 1:16:11Speaker 2: of the weapons that a quarterback has on this team.
- 1:16:15Speaker 2: Right now, you're not seeing what he can do. This
- 1:16:18Speaker 2: isn't an.
- 1:16:18Speaker 4: I'm not blaming anything on the offense on him right now.
- 1:16:21Speaker 4: I don't see his skill set as being a weapon
- 1:16:24Speaker 4: in an offense. I see him being a complimentary part
- 1:16:27Speaker 4: of a good offense. That's to me, that's his seales.
- 1:16:30Speaker 2: He's the number two receiver on this team. That's a weapon.
- 1:16:33Speaker 4: He ain't good enough, am I? In my just my opinion,
- 1:16:37Speaker 4: I think he can be like a good complimentary piece
- 1:16:40Speaker 4: on a good offense. If he's a two or a
- 1:16:42Speaker 4: one on your offense, your offense isn't good.
- 1:16:44Speaker 2: So in your in your mind, you don't get the
- 1:16:49Speaker 2: title of weapon unless you're a real playmaker. A real difference.
- 1:16:52Speaker 4: But that's what we're talking about, right that's the guys
- 1:16:54Speaker 4: that they will looking at look at you know, like
- 1:16:56Speaker 4: they're like they're interested in Brandon Ayuk. No, he's a
- 1:16:59Speaker 4: guy that can can.
- 1:17:00Speaker 2: Impact thea I look at it like, okay, what is
- 1:17:02Speaker 2: what is this quarterback's weapons? All right, he's got Hunter
- 1:17:05Speaker 2: Henry at tight end, he's got Poke, he's got you know,
- 1:17:10Speaker 2: you know.
- 1:17:10Speaker 4: That's different just rattling off all the skill in play.
- 1:17:14Speaker 4: But there's a different stream.
- 1:17:15Speaker 2: What like, who are the dependable people that this quarterback.
- 1:17:19Speaker 4: Do you think Mario Douglas is a weapon?
- 1:17:21Speaker 2: He should be.
- 1:17:22Speaker 4: He's one of Jacoby Brissette's weapons. But is he a weapon?
- 1:17:26Speaker 4: But I like it, I like like I'm going I know,
- 1:17:30Speaker 4: I like him.
- 1:17:32Speaker 2: Don't you think he should be a weapon.
- 1:17:34Speaker 4: He's among his weapons, But he's not that kind of player.
- 1:17:36Speaker 2: Oh I do I think he's dynamic?
- 1:17:39Speaker 4: I don't think he is. I don't think he's ever
- 1:17:41Speaker 4: seen I don't think he's ever shown any dynamic ability
- 1:17:45Speaker 4: Mario Douglas.
- 1:17:46Speaker 2: Yeah, you're talking about.
- 1:17:47Speaker 4: Pop now, now I'm talking about to Mario.
- 1:17:49Speaker 2: I know with the capitol, I think he can be.
- 1:17:54Speaker 4: I think you get on the ball.
- 1:17:56Speaker 2: Get the ball in space. I think he can do
- 1:17:58Speaker 2: things with it.
- 1:17:58Speaker 4: Well, you can get anybody the ball in space. And
- 1:18:00Speaker 4: then it's when he's not in space, how does he
- 1:18:03Speaker 4: get out of How does he get from from in
- 1:18:05Speaker 4: a crowded area to winter space?
- 1:18:07Speaker 2: And you put the I think he can get open?
- 1:18:10Speaker 3: Yeah, you put the Ridley or the Ayuk in, and
- 1:18:13Speaker 3: all of a sudden his guys are a little bit better,
- 1:18:15Speaker 3: and it's like, all right, is Jalen Polk a weapon?
- 1:18:17Speaker 3: I get where I get what you're saying with it,
- 1:18:18Speaker 3: you know what I mean where it's like, is he
- 1:18:20Speaker 3: going to be the guy who's gonna, you know, big
- 1:18:21Speaker 3: score sign. No, but he might be the guy that
- 1:18:23Speaker 3: on third and six he's gonna come down with a
- 1:18:25Speaker 3: contested cat.
- 1:18:26Speaker 2: Like he's going to be that reliably. But is he
- 1:18:30Speaker 2: a weapon?
- 1:18:31Speaker 4: Is Jacoby Myers a weapon? No?
- 1:18:34Speaker 2: I think he was on this team.
- 1:18:36Speaker 4: He was their best receiver. He wasn't a weapon. And
- 1:18:39Speaker 4: I like Jakobe Meyers he was one of max weapons.
- 1:18:42Speaker 4: But he Adams is the weapon.
- 1:18:44Speaker 2: On that offense. He's not going to be.
- 1:18:47Speaker 4: When he tries where he didn't.
- 1:18:48Speaker 2: None of them going to be Tyreek killed. But I
- 1:18:50Speaker 2: think they can be like part of.
- 1:18:52Speaker 4: We're talking about Fred and Mike just perfectly illustrated it,
- 1:18:56Speaker 4: like and I think Calvin Ridley and Brandon Ayuk they're
- 1:18:59Speaker 4: like kind of like second tier in that discussion. The
- 1:19:03Speaker 4: true weapons, the different the difference makers. Yeah, like.
- 1:19:09Speaker 2: You saw a w R one, No, that's a weapon.
- 1:19:12Speaker 2: I know it is a weapon. It is a weapon, but.
- 1:19:15Speaker 3: It's also a big difference of like who Toamorio Douglas
- 1:19:17Speaker 3: is facing as a cornerback when you're looking at this
- 1:19:19Speaker 3: offense and you're staying third down, They're probably gonna try
- 1:19:22Speaker 3: to get the ball to him, whereas A. J. Brown's
- 1:19:24Speaker 3: out there tomorrow Douglas gets lost in the wash and
- 1:19:26Speaker 3: all of a sudden he's on your second nickelback and
- 1:19:29Speaker 3: it's and it's a favorite.
- 1:19:30Speaker 4: Now a weapon and do like Wes Welker with Rady Moss.
- 1:19:35Speaker 2: Was Wes Welker a weapon? Yes he was.
- 1:19:39Speaker 4: Like guys that averaged ten yards to catch are not weapons.
- 1:19:42Speaker 2: What about all the third downs he picked up?
- 1:19:44Speaker 4: You can be like you're misunderstanding my point, Like you
- 1:19:47Speaker 4: can be a very good player. Mike illustrated it perfectly.
- 1:19:50Speaker 4: Jalen Polk can be a very good player. I think
- 1:19:53Speaker 4: he's strong, physical, has good hands. I like almost everything
- 1:19:57Speaker 4: I see, probably other than eight line speed. I think
- 1:20:01Speaker 4: he has toughness. I think he's going to be a
- 1:20:03Speaker 4: good player. I hope everybody heard that. I think Jalen
- 1:20:06Speaker 4: Polk can be a very good player. But he's not
- 1:20:10Speaker 4: good Like Tyler Boyd on Cincinnati was a very good player.
- 1:20:15Speaker 4: The weapons were Chase and Higgins. He was a good,
- 1:20:20Speaker 4: complimentary piece on a good passing offense. If Tyler Boyd
- 1:20:25Speaker 4: is your number one, you're not good enough, he's not
- 1:20:28Speaker 4: a weapon. Okay, that's fair, But that's what I'm like.
- 1:20:31Speaker 4: It's maybe it's a semantics, it's a typical Yeah.
- 1:20:34Speaker 2: I got it. Like a guy like Wes Welker who
- 1:20:37Speaker 2: has five, you know, seasons of a thousand, also talking.
- 1:20:42Speaker 4: But you're also talking about the single individual best maybe
- 1:20:46Speaker 4: who ever did that?
- 1:20:48Speaker 2: An Edelman I would consider a weapon.
- 1:20:50Speaker 4: Yeah, I wouldn't. Gronk was the we.
- 1:20:52Speaker 2: We have a different definition a weapon, Yeah we do.
- 1:20:56Speaker 4: Yeah, And guys that average ten yards of catch to
- 1:20:58Speaker 4: me aren't weapons.
- 1:21:00Speaker 2: I need its way, they get it, they get it
- 1:21:02Speaker 2: big plays.
- 1:21:04Speaker 3: It's it's the collection.
- 1:21:05Speaker 4: Size, grossly reliant on the greatest quarterback who ever played.
- 1:21:08Speaker 4: It's a collection still to catch.
- 1:21:10Speaker 3: They're going to keep the offense on time and keep
- 1:21:12Speaker 3: and make the critical plays. But then there's the weapons
- 1:21:14Speaker 3: who are going to push the pace. We're going to
- 1:21:16Speaker 3: put the other defense to put the defense on their heels,
- 1:21:18Speaker 3: you know, and really make those big scores and make
- 1:21:20Speaker 3: the big impact plays.
- 1:21:23Speaker 4: Five passes, not to say that, how did he do
- 1:21:25Speaker 4: in Miami with Cleo Lemon throwing the ball before? I know?
- 1:21:30Speaker 4: That's my point. Then they went to Peyton Manning and
- 1:21:33Speaker 4: he continued to be that guy like there's a little
- 1:21:36Speaker 4: there's a little bit about being like a part of
- 1:21:39Speaker 4: an unbelievable offense with the best quarterback who ever played.
- 1:21:44Speaker 4: That's going to make you look a little better than.
- 1:21:45Speaker 2: You regardless, he was one of Tom Brady's weapons.
- 1:21:49Speaker 4: I in my yes, I would agree with that the
- 1:21:51Speaker 4: way you say that, I would. I would agree with you. Yeah,
- 1:21:53Speaker 4: he's one of their skilled position guys.
- 1:21:55Speaker 2: Yes that produces.
- 1:21:58Speaker 4: Yes, Yeah, very good player. Even you want to call
- 1:22:01Speaker 4: him great, I will call him great. Edelman in Welker Troy.
- 1:22:06Speaker 2: Like Welker not not good enough for Patriots Hall of Fame.
- 1:22:11Speaker 4: And who has made the argument for Wes Welker for
- 1:22:13Speaker 4: the Patriots Hall of Fame in the last two years.
- 1:22:15Speaker 4: You okay, but I don't know. If you know Fred,
- 1:22:19Speaker 4: you might have heard this. He dropped a pass in
- 1:22:20Speaker 4: the Super Bowl. So the little still.
- 1:22:26Speaker 2: Nominated him to get at those people.
- 1:22:28Speaker 4: Yeah, that's the only reason, because I don't think he's
- 1:22:30Speaker 4: a hall I don't think he's a team Hall of Famer.
- 1:22:32Speaker 2: It's nice, it's a it's a grudge nomination. No, Tony
- 1:22:39Speaker 2: and Pott in Uk. I think I'm on.
- 1:22:41Speaker 4: The same one of those in a while we need
- 1:22:43Speaker 4: we need more of that.
- 1:22:44Speaker 2: That's good. I think I'm on the same page as
- 1:22:46Speaker 2: Paul and Evan. I'd set myself up for a season
- 1:22:49Speaker 2: of very little wins and mainly losses, but Drake would
- 1:22:53Speaker 2: be in and he would be learning as he went.
- 1:22:56Speaker 2: The approach the Patriots are taking now is just delaying
- 1:22:58Speaker 2: everyone knowing if Drake and perform at this level or not.
- 1:23:02Speaker 2: You'd like to think a quarterback coming with his talent
- 1:23:05Speaker 2: would find it difficult at first, but quickly learn and
- 1:23:08Speaker 2: go on that steep curve to becoming a true QB one.
- 1:23:12Speaker 3: See I have that year, Like I'll get to that
- 1:23:14Speaker 3: gear in like November. Okay, Like I'll get to that year.
- 1:23:17Speaker 3: But like free I'm okay. Like it's like you're not
- 1:23:21Speaker 3: going to like rule Drake out there tomorrow. But that
- 1:23:24Speaker 3: the impatience.
- 1:23:25Speaker 2: But like, but that's the other thing that people are
- 1:23:27Speaker 2: kind of forgetting about in the argument of how soon
- 1:23:31Speaker 2: do you play him? Is money. You know, these teams
- 1:23:34Speaker 2: need to know who they have before it comes close
- 1:23:38Speaker 2: to the end of their contract.
- 1:23:39Speaker 4: I've said this with Green Bay. You know you can
- 1:23:41Speaker 4: do it the way green Bay did it. And I
- 1:23:43Speaker 4: understand they had Alon run, but now all of a sudden,
- 1:23:46Speaker 4: you have to give the guy an obscene contract based
- 1:23:48Speaker 4: off of really a half a year of Riley good
- 1:23:50Speaker 4: play right, because he was kind of average for a
- 1:23:54Speaker 4: while last year.
- 1:23:55Speaker 3: Jordan Love feel scary, I mean, and that's so many
- 1:23:57Speaker 3: By the way, he didn't look great in the opener either.
- 1:24:00Speaker 2: It was in Brazil.
- 1:24:01Speaker 4: Though it was in Brazil art planning on an ice
- 1:24:03Speaker 4: rank other hemisphere.
- 1:24:05Speaker 2: Forget Nick and the Pocono's. I've been listening to the
- 1:24:09Speaker 2: show for a few years and I don't normally email shows,
- 1:24:12Speaker 2: but I had to give Paul his credit. You have
- 1:24:14Speaker 2: some callers and emails that can be frustrating to listen to,
- 1:24:18Speaker 2: and you guys normally are very patient with them. To
- 1:24:21Speaker 2: your credit, during the postgame show last week, Paul finally
- 1:24:24Speaker 2: let loose on one and I am here for it.
- 1:24:28Speaker 2: That guy deserved every bit of your rage. Thank you
- 1:24:30Speaker 2: for letting loose on him, and thank you for the entertainment.
- 1:24:33Speaker 2: So I've got a lot of emails on this. I
- 1:24:35Speaker 2: missed what happened the show? Yeah, no Ida.
- 1:24:40Speaker 3: It was one of the guys that I just said, like,
- 1:24:42Speaker 3: what did you want to do.
- 1:24:44Speaker 2: There's no tackles, give me the tackles.
- 1:24:45Speaker 4: It was a guy that called in saying that they
- 1:24:48Speaker 4: had no options, no opportunities to get tackles. I disagreed,
- 1:24:53Speaker 4: and I said that I thought they could have signed
- 1:24:55Speaker 4: a veteran or gotten one in the draft higher the
- 1:25:00Speaker 4: and they did. Evidently that didn't sit well with his call,
- 1:25:04Speaker 4: and he emailed back in later. Oh no, the other
- 1:25:07Speaker 4: way around. He emailed first, Sorry, Mike has given me
- 1:25:09Speaker 4: the reverse. He emailed first. Then he called in later, Mike,
- 1:25:13Speaker 4: you want to do the to the call and don't
- 1:25:16Speaker 4: you can do this? This is not an exaggeration where
- 1:25:18Speaker 4: it was. I mean, why can't Why couldn't you try?
- 1:25:21Speaker 4: Why couldn't you give me? Give me a name? Smith,
- 1:25:25Speaker 4: Joan Williams, But give me a name. This is this
- 1:25:29Speaker 4: is how it went. Like, I'm just like rattling off
- 1:25:31Speaker 4: there hurts, he said, Joeah Williams, Tyrant Smith. The two
- 1:25:34Speaker 4: NFL guys that were available, he could have traded up
- 1:25:37Speaker 4: in the first round and he gotten one of the
- 1:25:38Speaker 4: tackles that went. A tackle train started at about twenty
- 1:25:42Speaker 4: five in the first round, and he watched it go by.
- 1:25:47Speaker 4: Any of them would have been an option at least
- 1:25:50Speaker 4: somebody who's played left tackle.
- 1:25:53Speaker 7: Give me a name.
- 1:25:55Speaker 4: Okay, so what do you think I did after that?
- 1:25:58Speaker 2: He gave him names?
- 1:26:00Speaker 4: No, I had already given him names, like any of
- 1:26:03Speaker 4: the names, right, I just gave you.
- 1:26:04Speaker 3: To give me the buy Matt, can you give me
- 1:26:07Speaker 3: the buye? The bye at the end was my actually
- 1:26:09Speaker 3: John and Lad.
- 1:26:13Speaker 4: Yeah, he got hurt. So a guy got hurt in
- 1:26:15Speaker 4: Arizona means I would have been hurt here right right that,
- 1:26:19Speaker 4: because that makes sense because everything happens the same, right.
- 1:26:23Speaker 3: The buy at the The thing is fun though when
- 1:26:25Speaker 3: you get mad, it's like usually if it's not Fred,
- 1:26:28Speaker 3: you'll hold it back a little bit because you know,
- 1:26:29Speaker 3: I mean, I assume, but then like, but.
- 1:26:31Speaker 4: The call I that you didn't hold back. But I
- 1:26:33Speaker 4: never I never like want to be like that. And
- 1:26:35Speaker 4: I'm being serious. I always immediately regret that I was funny. Right,
- 1:26:41Speaker 4: But when a guy just continues to say, give me
- 1:26:43Speaker 4: a name, and he's not listening to the names that
- 1:26:45Speaker 4: I'm providing.
- 1:26:47Speaker 3: We're not having a conversation, but you're on the fact that.
- 1:26:48Speaker 4: I'm not Elliott Wolf. It's not my job to identify
- 1:26:52Speaker 4: all of the possibilities at left tackle. All I can
- 1:26:55Speaker 4: tell you is not identifying one who's ever played left
- 1:27:01Speaker 4: tackle is negligent to the offensive line. That's the only
- 1:27:04Speaker 4: point I was trying to make. And evidently this guy
- 1:27:08Speaker 4: is like Elliott Well's brother in law and just decided
- 1:27:11Speaker 4: like who who who? Give me your name? Give me
- 1:27:13Speaker 4: your name. I just gave you Jonah Williams A Thomas Smith. Listen,
- 1:27:18Speaker 4: Oh I was good.
- 1:27:19Speaker 2: I lost my poopy and get uncomfortable.
- 1:27:22Speaker 4: Oh yeah, yeah. It's like he's, you know, he's hosting
- 1:27:26Speaker 4: like n PRS, like we want to be a little
- 1:27:29Speaker 4: bit more here, you know, and you know, for Mike
- 1:27:34Speaker 4: and Matt Morreau and the booth and and every like
- 1:27:38Speaker 4: everybody who's ever walked through Gillette Stata and gets your
- 1:27:40Speaker 4: credit at the end of the show by.
- 1:27:45Speaker 2: Paul in the Colony, writes in Fred. He says, Brandon
- 1:27:48Speaker 2: Leafell was an excellent player who helped us win, but
- 1:27:51Speaker 2: he was not a weapon weapon. Hopefully Pope can be LaFell.
- 1:27:54Speaker 4: Yes, boom, there you go.
- 1:27:57Speaker 2: I think he should use that. Paul in the Colony.
- 1:28:00Speaker 2: Paul in the Colony, he says, sign me up for
- 1:28:02Speaker 2: the newsletter and ps the Jets still suck. They did
- 1:28:05Speaker 2: Thursday Night unfortunately.
- 1:28:06Speaker 4: But yeah, that that kind of illustrates my point. And
- 1:28:09Speaker 4: if you think he's going to be better than la Fello,
- 1:28:11Speaker 4: I think you're going to be disappointed. I think Brandon
- 1:28:12Speaker 4: LaFell was a good player. I think you'd be happy
- 1:28:14Speaker 4: if Jalen Pope turns out to be.
- 1:28:16Speaker 2: I want him to be better. I think he's different.
- 1:28:18Speaker 4: I think he's a different kind of player. But I'm
- 1:28:21Speaker 4: talking about like production, like he's a different kind of
- 1:28:26Speaker 4: Lfel was an outside guy. He was your you know,
- 1:28:29Speaker 4: outside guy, your.
- 1:28:31Speaker 3: Your ex if you will, thank you, not one.
- 1:28:34Speaker 4: But not a weapon, not DK Metcalf, not that kind
- 1:28:39Speaker 4: of an outside.
- 1:28:39Speaker 3: And that gets at the heart of it of like
- 1:28:41Speaker 3: some of the problems that they've had where they've had
- 1:28:43Speaker 3: guys on the outside not a weapon.
- 1:28:44Speaker 4: Though, like Jamar Chase and t Higgins those weapons.
- 1:28:47Speaker 2: Christian in l a t pxline. What's up, Christian, Hey
- 1:28:51Speaker 2: you guys, And I want to clear up something from
- 1:28:56Speaker 2: from the post game show.
- 1:28:57Speaker 16: When I said that the the team didn't play badly,
- 1:29:02Speaker 16: I didn't mean that they didn't do enough to execute
- 1:29:05Speaker 16: well enough to which they obviously win a game. What
- 1:29:08Speaker 16: I meant was they didn't they didn't do it over.
- 1:29:13Speaker 16: They were out gone, and it's a balance thing. Like
- 1:29:16Speaker 16: everyone's saying to my point that inspect.
- 1:29:19Speaker 2: The draft, you break it up.
- 1:29:21Speaker 16: Christian I was.
- 1:29:25Speaker 2: Okay, you break it up. I can't listen to that.
- 1:29:27Speaker 2: But I think his point was maybe that they didn't
- 1:29:30Speaker 2: play as poorly as people thought because they didn't turn
- 1:29:34Speaker 2: the ball over or well, I mean, I think you
- 1:29:37Speaker 2: can they did once, but but you.
- 1:29:39Speaker 4: Could get to a semantic argument is when you get
- 1:29:41Speaker 4: dominated by your other team, it's not because you played
- 1:29:43Speaker 4: bad if you don't make if you don't have a
- 1:29:44Speaker 4: lot of penalties and turnovers. Right, Yeah, that's not the
- 1:29:47Speaker 4: only way to play bad.
- 1:29:48Speaker 2: They were overmatched, right yea.
- 1:29:50Speaker 4: They couldn't stop the other team and they couldn't move
- 1:29:52Speaker 4: the ball on the other team. Like, is that because
- 1:29:54Speaker 4: you're just not good enough? Like you played? Are you
- 1:29:57Speaker 4: telling me that the Patriots played to the best of
- 1:29:59Speaker 4: their ability and we're playing against the better team? Yeah,
- 1:30:02Speaker 4: I didn't. I don't think that.
- 1:30:03Speaker 2: I don't think that is.
- 1:30:04Speaker 4: I think more of the Patriots than that, even though
- 1:30:06Speaker 4: I don't have a tremendous amount of faith that the
- 1:30:08Speaker 4: Patriots are gonna be able to line up and beat
- 1:30:10Speaker 4: the other team a lot. I think they're better than
- 1:30:12Speaker 4: they played in that game Thursday night.
- 1:30:14Speaker 2: Yeah me too.
- 1:30:15Speaker 4: They missed a lot of tackles.
- 1:30:17Speaker 2: Uh Nick and Pennsylvania. I have to push back on
- 1:30:20Speaker 2: Mike for one second. On the last postgame show, he
- 1:30:23Speaker 2: defended Peppers with his life, and I get it if
- 1:30:27Speaker 2: he's his guy, but really, what has he done. You
- 1:30:31Speaker 2: can say he's one of the few with crazy emotion
- 1:30:34Speaker 2: and heart, but that's not going to make me say
- 1:30:36Speaker 2: he's been good. He's been missing tackles and playing somewhat poorly.
- 1:30:41Speaker 2: And god, if I see him jump over a pile
- 1:30:42Speaker 2: of players after the play is dead just to show
- 1:30:45Speaker 2: he cares, I'm gonna lose it.
- 1:30:48Speaker 3: No, I mean, like I said, uh what, I hate
- 1:30:51Speaker 3: the Center. I hate the sin love the Center, Like
- 1:30:53Speaker 3: I don't love the extra business.
- 1:30:55Speaker 14: I don't.
- 1:30:55Speaker 3: I didn't love it when Rodney Harrison did it either,
- 1:30:57Speaker 3: like I don't. I don't have to love everything about
- 1:30:58Speaker 3: the player. And no, I mean I think he has
- 1:31:01Speaker 3: to definitely be better. I don't know if he's as
- 1:31:03Speaker 3: bad as you're kind of pointing him out to be.
- 1:31:06Speaker 3: But I mean, I agree generally. I'm just pushing back
- 1:31:09Speaker 3: on that because I.
- 1:31:10Speaker 2: Love who is he.
- 1:31:12Speaker 4: I love I love Mike's passion which Jabrill Peppers. And
- 1:31:16Speaker 4: I'm probably more toward the emailer and Matt in the argument,
- 1:31:21Speaker 4: not as far as they are, because I think that
- 1:31:23Speaker 4: they're exaggerating. I think Peppers is a good player, but
- 1:31:27Speaker 4: I love the like Mike like truly gets passionate in
- 1:31:31Speaker 4: his defense of Jabrill Peppers, and and I liked that.
- 1:31:33Speaker 4: I appreciate that. It's like it's like Drew likee for me, but.
- 1:31:37Speaker 2: Like get yourself a friend who defends like defense like
- 1:31:41Speaker 2: I don't.
- 1:31:42Speaker 3: I don't love the extra nonsense. Like there's nothing I
- 1:31:44Speaker 3: love more than a guy who's super intense and plays
- 1:31:47Speaker 3: hard and then is like super sportsmanship and it's like
- 1:31:49Speaker 3: helping guys up and then he's going to try to
- 1:31:50Speaker 3: kill you the next time. Not the guys who are
- 1:31:52Speaker 3: you know, taking the late jump in or trying to
- 1:31:54Speaker 3: get the ball out like all that.
- 1:31:56Speaker 4: He's a pile of jumper, but he also is a
- 1:31:59Speaker 4: good player, like you know, I think to that hit
- 1:32:01Speaker 4: on like Devanta Adams in Vegas last year, Like those
- 1:32:05Speaker 4: kinds of plays just good solid heart.
- 1:32:07Speaker 3: That's and that's and that's what Matt gets me with
- 1:32:09Speaker 3: his Matt because he's done it before this.
- 1:32:10Speaker 4: He'll just be like Matt does pick at him.
- 1:32:12Speaker 3: He's not even good, but you like this guy, like
- 1:32:15Speaker 3: what's even doing here?
- 1:32:16Speaker 4: Like that's the tone that Mac comes out me, and
- 1:32:17Speaker 4: that gets it. And that's more negative.
- 1:32:20Speaker 2: Matt shown up on the post game show.
- 1:32:21Speaker 4: You No, not on not on the air. No, let
- 1:32:24Speaker 4: me just ask us. Let me just tell you something.
- 1:32:26Speaker 4: Do not go out of your way to ever watch
- 1:32:28Speaker 4: a game with Matt off air? Yeah, not an enjoyable experience.
- 1:32:31Speaker 2: Now he's just two. Everything's terrible, like it's nineteen ninety. Yeah,
- 1:32:37Speaker 2: Like it's like the last.
- 1:32:38Speaker 4: Twenty five years never happened. I think he gave a
- 1:32:41Speaker 4: heart attack at one. He thinks the worst thing ever
- 1:32:44Speaker 4: is going to happen on every single play, you know.
- 1:32:47Speaker 4: I don't think it's like a false like the sky
- 1:32:50Speaker 4: is falling mentality. I think he honestly thinks something bad
- 1:32:54Speaker 4: is going to happen on every play.
- 1:32:55Speaker 3: It's how we enjoys the game.
- 1:32:57Speaker 4: So they want a new host. Least he's going to
- 1:33:04Speaker 4: cry himself to sleep on his giant pillar.
- 1:33:07Speaker 2: Art rights in when Elliott Wolf didn't get a left
- 1:33:09Speaker 2: tackle with the Patriots second pick, he really screwed up.
- 1:33:12Speaker 2: Give me your name, Mark, give me a.
- 1:33:14Speaker 4: Name by So I think that the second guess, in
- 1:33:18Speaker 4: all seriousness like that, my tirade aside is could they
- 1:33:22Speaker 4: have been more aggressive getting into position to take one
- 1:33:26Speaker 4: of those tackles? And I don't know what, Like the
- 1:33:29Speaker 4: kid in Dallas is kind of struggling too, right, I
- 1:33:33Speaker 4: think he's struggling. I don't care that they're not stars
- 1:33:36Speaker 4: like the day they get onto the field, like sometimes
- 1:33:40Speaker 4: it takes time. We didn't take Joe Walt, you know,
- 1:33:43Speaker 4: for Sean was not even starting. He came in from
- 1:33:45Speaker 4: Morgan Moses the other night. Fashion sorry, thank you.
- 1:33:49Speaker 3: What about the kid in Washington too, that I think
- 1:33:52Speaker 3: was taking one pick ahead of Wallace legging. I don't
- 1:33:55Speaker 3: think he was a left tackle, but he's playing left
- 1:33:57Speaker 3: he's not.
- 1:33:57Speaker 4: Good either, so you know, but still that you could
- 1:34:00Speaker 4: you could plug a guy in like what was I
- 1:34:02Speaker 4: maybe tackle again this week? He probably would be better
- 1:34:05Speaker 4: than he was last week. But that doesn't mean you
- 1:34:08Speaker 4: have left tackle filled just because a guy's playing left
- 1:34:10Speaker 4: tackle totally, but it's not a good Indians right right.
- 1:34:13Speaker 3: I mean, I don't know them well enough to I
- 1:34:15Speaker 3: guess state the case. But I just think that there's
- 1:34:18Speaker 3: there are teams out there that are figuring.
- 1:34:19Speaker 2: It out or they're finding question. You know, in this
- 1:34:22Speaker 2: offensive system, this spread not spread but wide system, does
- 1:34:27Speaker 2: that decrease the need for the typical, you know, left tackle,
- 1:34:33Speaker 2: you know the guy that just you know, stones people
- 1:34:36Speaker 2: because you're more on the move and and all that.
- 1:34:38Speaker 4: I would say that one of the best left tackles
- 1:34:40Speaker 4: in football plays with San Francisco, And I don't think
- 1:34:43Speaker 4: the RAMS offense has been the same since Andrew Widworth retired. Yeah,
- 1:34:47Speaker 4: Like I mean, I don't think that you need like
- 1:34:50Speaker 4: you need talented players, you need that like a big
- 1:34:53Speaker 4: athletic lineman. I think in this system, yeah, I think
- 1:34:57Speaker 4: they have some big guys, but they're not I would
- 1:35:00Speaker 4: That's what I'm.
- 1:35:00Speaker 2: Getting at is, like, is this new fangled offenses that
- 1:35:04Speaker 2: all the teams are running. It's not the same left
- 1:35:08Speaker 2: tackle that you would have twenty years ago. It's a
- 1:35:10Speaker 2: different type of left tackle, which opens it up to
- 1:35:14Speaker 2: more guys. It opens it up to more guys coming
- 1:35:18Speaker 2: from another position who are athletic and can play in
- 1:35:21Speaker 2: this system that typically maybe didn't play left tackle in college,
- 1:35:26Speaker 2: you know, because when I look at a lot of
- 1:35:28Speaker 2: a lot of these the whole left.
- 1:35:29Speaker 4: Right tackle has nothing really to do with ability.
- 1:35:32Speaker 2: It's nothing to do with the ability.
- 1:35:34Speaker 4: It doesn't have everything to do with the bility, no, nothing, nothing.
- 1:35:38Speaker 4: I know, like a lot of guys that play on
- 1:35:40Speaker 4: the right side, they have a hard time on the
- 1:35:42Speaker 4: left side because of the football I understand, not because
- 1:35:45Speaker 4: they don't have the requisite talent to do it.
- 1:35:47Speaker 2: But I look at like, you know, my guides are lads,
- 1:35:51Speaker 2: and you know, the beasts, and so many of these
- 1:35:54Speaker 2: tackles coming out of college are projected to play.
- 1:35:57Speaker 4: Guard right because they don't have the length, combination of
- 1:36:02Speaker 4: size and agility to play on the edge. Yeah, that's
- 1:36:06Speaker 4: I think. I think the bigger question and I don't
- 1:36:10Speaker 4: I don't know the specific answer to your question for it,
- 1:36:12Speaker 4: but I think the bigger thing is other college offense
- 1:36:14Speaker 4: is ruining these offensive linemen like standing up three points,
- 1:36:18Speaker 4: you know, like looking at the sideline doing this spread
- 1:36:21Speaker 4: spread attack RPOs. Like there's a lot less just pure
- 1:36:28Speaker 4: pocket fundamental pocket building and yeah, drop back right, you know,
- 1:36:32Speaker 4: stuff like that, And I wonder if that's the biggest issue,
- 1:36:36Speaker 4: like because not only Fred, a lot of these tackles
- 1:36:38Speaker 4: that come out, they say, well, he might make transition
- 1:36:40Speaker 4: to guard, but how many left tackles? They say he's
- 1:36:43Speaker 4: more of a right tackle because I don't think that
- 1:36:45Speaker 4: he has like the footwork and you know, and I
- 1:36:50Speaker 4: don't know, Like again, you might be thousand percent right.
- 1:36:52Speaker 4: Twenty years ago, maybe it was a bigger deal and
- 1:36:54Speaker 4: now more guys could do it. But I think the
- 1:36:56Speaker 4: college offenses are impacting the line.
- 1:37:00Speaker 2: Eric just got here and he's getting excited because he
- 1:37:03Speaker 2: thinks we're talking about college It was just for a second.
- 1:37:05Speaker 4: You heard, we were talking about offensive lineman and.
- 1:37:07Speaker 2: It was just for a second.
- 1:37:08Speaker 4: He needed to strap in.
- 1:37:10Speaker 2: Evans here.
- 1:37:14Speaker 4: Has returned from practice.
- 1:37:16Speaker 2: Evan has returned, has returned from fact.
- 1:37:23Speaker 8: Who was there?
- 1:37:25Speaker 2: All right? Evan was yours?
- 1:37:27Speaker 4: What did you see? Hello?
- 1:37:29Speaker 5: So interesting day? Interesting day had some movement on the
- 1:37:34Speaker 5: offensive line. It looks like they are going to get
- 1:37:37Speaker 5: city show back. It seems like maybe.
- 1:37:40Speaker 2: There it is, and there.
- 1:37:42Speaker 5: It is the savior of the left side that really
- 1:37:45Speaker 5: has really hasn't been the problem that spot who hasn't
- 1:37:49Speaker 5: been Yeah anyways, but attendance wise obviously. No, Juwan Bentley,
- 1:37:54Speaker 5: you know that story. Dro told us. I'm sure you
- 1:37:56Speaker 5: guys talked about that already. And uh No, Alex Austin,
- 1:38:00Speaker 5: which is a new one. We didn't see him Monday.
- 1:38:03Speaker 4: We have Alex and Austin on the last.
- 1:38:05Speaker 5: We didn't see him on Monday either, So he's obviously
- 1:38:08Speaker 5: dealing with something that we'll find out later today.
- 1:38:10Speaker 4: With the injury, he left the game and was announced
- 1:38:12Speaker 4: a questionable. He was on our injured list. Yeah, we
- 1:38:15Speaker 4: got that probably interrupted before we got to it, right, Yeah,
- 1:38:19Speaker 4: don't let him listen to the show.
- 1:38:22Speaker 5: Left tackle is uh, I don't like to look on
- 1:38:28Speaker 5: left tackle is a concern. Let me just put to
- 1:38:30Speaker 5: you that way, not that it wasn't a concern before.
- 1:38:33Speaker 5: We're going to go unbalanced and we're not going to
- 1:38:35Speaker 5: play with left on the city. So it is going
- 1:38:37Speaker 5: to be the left tack right now. Caden Wallace, we
- 1:38:40Speaker 5: saw him in the locker room with a heavily wrapped.
- 1:38:43Speaker 4: Knee, so he also left the game.
- 1:38:46Speaker 5: By Jacob, he was out at practice, but Trade Jacobs
- 1:38:51Speaker 5: could be in line to play on Sunday.
- 1:38:54Speaker 2: I think it's just the guy they just picked up.
- 1:38:56Speaker 4: No, this is he's been around a little bit. They
- 1:38:58Speaker 4: claimed off waivers big he's like six ' eight.
- 1:39:01Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it's.
- 1:39:02Speaker 4: Not the big guy you're thinking about a squad. No,
- 1:39:04Speaker 4: that's Caleb Jones, seventy pound guy that everybody thinks would
- 1:39:09Speaker 4: be the answer to our prayers just because he's clips. Yeah,
- 1:39:14Speaker 4: but look, it was really brief. It's only Wednesday.
- 1:39:18Speaker 5: We'll see what happens, but it does look like they're
- 1:39:21Speaker 5: at least giving Trey Jacobs a Look, well, that.
- 1:39:24Speaker 2: Helps a sore knee in a six hour flight in
- 1:39:27Speaker 2: the west to the west.
- 1:39:28Speaker 3: Correct, especially if you're six nine in a plane.
- 1:39:29Speaker 4: Season. That was the underrated part I thought of the
- 1:39:32Speaker 4: game the other night is a lot of those guys
- 1:39:36Speaker 4: sort of got knocked out late. Yeah, late in the game.
- 1:39:39Speaker 4: Which was another thing about Jordan. The decision to play
- 1:39:43Speaker 4: May with two of those guys on the left side,
- 1:39:47Speaker 4: you know, is Jacob's in uh Zach Thomas, you know,
- 1:39:50Speaker 4: left tackle and left guard respectively. Like that was he
- 1:39:53Speaker 4: was under attack, like and they and they had sort
- 1:39:56Speaker 4: of dialed it back a little bit. They blitzed him
- 1:39:57Speaker 4: a couple of times, but not like they had been earlier.
- 1:40:00Speaker 4: And they had a lot of backups in attic to
- 1:40:04Speaker 4: me pads today full pads.
- 1:40:06Speaker 5: Yeah, Grodd said that was important this morning. Got to
- 1:40:09Speaker 5: tackle talking about Rimandre's ball security a little bit, so
- 1:40:14Speaker 5: he I thought he made a good point about Rimondre's
- 1:40:16Speaker 5: ball security is something that I felt like I was
- 1:40:19Speaker 5: noticing too, which is that a lot of it is
- 1:40:20Speaker 5: coming when he's fighting for extra yards and then he's
- 1:40:24Speaker 5: got like three guys on him and then guys are
- 1:40:26Speaker 5: just starting to rip at the ball.
- 1:40:28Speaker 4: I don't know what you tell him go down, I
- 1:40:31Speaker 4: don't know, but yeah.
- 1:40:33Speaker 2: I mean, you can't be the guy that you know,
- 1:40:35Speaker 2: was tops in the league for breaking tackles without trying
- 1:40:37Speaker 2: to break tackles, right, And a lot of times when
- 1:40:39Speaker 2: you're in that scrum, you just can't fall down. You're
- 1:40:42Speaker 2: being held up. Yeah.
- 1:40:43Speaker 4: Right, So it's like these gang tackles where guys are
- 1:40:45Speaker 4: holding him up. The phrase though, yeah that double when
- 1:40:49Speaker 4: you're in trouble. Oh like double over hand, two hands.
- 1:40:54Speaker 2: Two hands. You saw Derek Henry and the runs he'd
- 1:40:59Speaker 2: come and you know, both hands.
- 1:41:01Speaker 4: Yeah, you know that's practice.
- 1:41:05Speaker 2: Weather outside today, fall day, fall day, pretty fall day,
- 1:41:09Speaker 2: mid sixties, I think.
- 1:41:10Speaker 5: Yeah, it's nice out, it's not it's not too cold,
- 1:41:12Speaker 5: not too hot because.
- 1:41:13Speaker 2: It's going to be hot. I think in San Francisco, yes,
- 1:41:16Speaker 2: Santa Clara, yes, where they're playing.
- 1:41:18Speaker 4: It feels it felt like football weather out there today.
- 1:41:20Speaker 4: I love it.
- 1:41:21Speaker 3: Michael Jordan was he out there.
- 1:41:23Speaker 5: He was out there, but we didn't see him do much.
- 1:41:26Speaker 5: And when they did have the offensive line working together,
- 1:41:30Speaker 5: it was city.
- 1:41:31Speaker 2: Now, I would imagine there's a lot of media grousing
- 1:41:35Speaker 2: going on.
- 1:41:37Speaker 5: What I think is interesting, and you know, this is
- 1:41:39Speaker 5: my side of the streets, so I find this is
- 1:41:41Speaker 5: why I find it interesting. A lot of the media
- 1:41:43Speaker 5: grousing right now is trying to solve their problems.
- 1:41:48Speaker 4: Like it's a lot of it is like, oh, what
- 1:41:49Speaker 4: did you you know? See here?
- 1:41:51Speaker 5: What did you I have people coming up to me
- 1:41:52Speaker 5: left and right like just talking ball, like just wanting to.
- 1:41:58Speaker 5: Everybody just wants to, you know, has their two cents
- 1:42:01Speaker 5: about what's going on right now with this team.
- 1:42:04Speaker 4: I think it's too early in the season.
- 1:42:06Speaker 5: For people to check out, so everybody's still trying to
- 1:42:11Speaker 5: to figure out what.
- 1:42:12Speaker 2: And of all these people, because this is your side
- 1:42:14Speaker 2: of the street, would you say Badard has the answers.
- 1:42:18Speaker 4: Well, but Dard's not here because he doesn't come to practice.
- 1:42:20Speaker 5: Okay, all right, I heard him on your shows yesterday though.
- 1:42:25Speaker 2: Oh yeah, we're talking about that early. He almost took
- 1:42:28Speaker 2: what Duce said verbatim.
- 1:42:29Speaker 4: You heard our show, you heard that show?
- 1:42:31Speaker 5: Yeah, I like to not get Greg on my case.
- 1:42:36Speaker 4: But yeah, he's so a.
- 1:42:37Speaker 2: Lot of people concerned because they want this team to
- 1:42:40Speaker 2: do well.
- 1:42:41Speaker 5: Correct, Yeah, I that is really what it is to me.
- 1:42:44Speaker 5: And I know that some people don't think that that's
- 1:42:46Speaker 5: the case for the media, but I a lot of
- 1:42:49Speaker 5: people want this to turn around and are curious about.
- 1:42:54Speaker 2: Well, listen, it's better for everybody, Yeah, for all the
- 1:42:57Speaker 2: teams in this region to be doing well. Right.
- 1:43:00Speaker 4: Yeah, you know I agree with that, especially I mean
- 1:43:04Speaker 4: from a professional standpoint, it's certainly more enjoyable to cover
- 1:43:07Speaker 4: a successful team and just a losing one.
- 1:43:09Speaker 7: Right.
- 1:43:09Speaker 3: What's that like, Paw.
- 1:43:12Speaker 4: Paw tell me the day you're at twenty nineteen, you
- 1:43:16Speaker 4: just didn't appreciate it.
- 1:43:17Speaker 3: No, this is miserable.
- 1:43:22Speaker 4: This is miserable.
- 1:43:25Speaker 2: What's your definition of an offensive weapon?
- 1:43:30Speaker 3: Can you be very among the weapons but not actually.
- 1:43:33Speaker 4: Be a weapon?
- 1:43:34Speaker 2: Lead the witness? Sorry, what's your definition of that. I
- 1:43:39Speaker 2: just want to know, because you.
- 1:43:40Speaker 5: Know my definition. I would say somebody that the defense
- 1:43:46Speaker 5: has to prepare for if you're going into a game.
- 1:43:49Speaker 2: So you're more with Paul.
- 1:43:50Speaker 5: Into a game week now, I'm not saying by default,
- 1:43:53Speaker 5: because the team just has nobody else to prepare for.
- 1:43:56Speaker 4: So we're going to circle player Douglas. I knew that's
- 1:44:01Speaker 4: where I knew where this was heading. I knew where
- 1:44:04Speaker 4: this was heading.
- 1:44:05Speaker 5: But talk a lot about Tuesday players. It's a Michael
- 1:44:12Speaker 5: Lombardi term when the when the coaches. I'm sure it's
- 1:44:17Speaker 5: a football term that he has revealed to the publisher.
- 1:44:20Speaker 4: Like Al Davis used it. So we stole with yeah,
- 1:44:22Speaker 4: tuesday players.
- 1:44:23Speaker 5: You know guys that when the coaches get into the
- 1:44:25Speaker 5: game plan meeting for the following week. Who are the
- 1:44:28Speaker 5: guys that are being circled on the whiteboard as he's
- 1:44:31Speaker 5: a problem, This guy's a problem. We got to do
- 1:44:33Speaker 5: something about, ayuk, we got to do something about. You know,
- 1:44:36Speaker 5: Trent Williams is going to give us problems. You know,
- 1:44:38Speaker 5: this guy's gonna give us problems. The Patriots don't have
- 1:44:40Speaker 5: too many.
- 1:44:41Speaker 4: Of those, okay, So they have a couple of.
- 1:44:43Speaker 2: Your definition is more like Paul's that these are the
- 1:44:46Speaker 2: elite players.
- 1:44:47Speaker 4: Like we had an email that was sort of chastising
- 1:44:50Speaker 4: us for giving Elliot Wolf a hard time about tackle
- 1:44:53Speaker 4: because they chose to get weapons at receiver instead of
- 1:44:58Speaker 4: addressing the offensive line. Maybe next year will address the
- 1:45:01Speaker 4: offensive line. The last part of it, I totally agreed with.
- 1:45:04Speaker 4: You know, be patient. You can't get it all in
- 1:45:06Speaker 4: one year. I don't think they got weapons in the draft.
- 1:45:09Speaker 4: I think they they may have gotten a good complimentary
- 1:45:11Speaker 4: piece in Jalen Polk, who I reiterated for a while.
- 1:45:16Speaker 4: I think has good physicality, toughness, football sense, strong hands.
- 1:45:21Speaker 4: I think he can be a very good complimentary piece
- 1:45:24Speaker 4: to a good offense. Tyler Boyd, I think is where
- 1:45:28Speaker 4: I'm like, if I were to ask you Cincinnati, the
- 1:45:32Speaker 4: weapons are Jamar Chase and T Higgins. Tyler Boyd's one
- 1:45:36Speaker 4: of Joe Burrow's weapons because I count all of the
- 1:45:40Speaker 4: skill guys, but he's not a weapon. Capitol w And
- 1:45:45Speaker 4: I think the way your sort of explained that you
- 1:45:48Speaker 4: would sort of side with me a j Brown weapons
- 1:45:51Speaker 4: welcome weapon. Yeah, by definition, Andy Moss weapon by definition,
- 1:45:56Speaker 4: Jalen Polk is a weapon because still one of the position.
- 1:46:00Speaker 2: But as I always had a dumb down definition to me,
- 1:46:06Speaker 2: weapons is who are the arrows in his in his quiver?
- 1:46:09Speaker 4: You know that's totally fair. Yeah, And I get what
- 1:46:12Speaker 4: you're saying there, Like, I don't think Jalen Polk will
- 1:46:15Speaker 4: be a guy that the other team's defensive coordinators saying
- 1:46:20Speaker 4: unless there's nobody else. But like if you get Brandon
- 1:46:24Speaker 4: Ayuk like they tried to, I don't think they're circling
- 1:46:28Speaker 4: Jalen Pogan and we have to do these guys.
- 1:46:32Speaker 2: That's where I miss Eric. He would have complimented me
- 1:46:34Speaker 2: on my use of the word quiver quiver yeah, I got, yeah, yeah,
- 1:46:37Speaker 2: but he would have said something, well you actually said
- 1:46:40Speaker 2: because because he has to let people know that he
- 1:46:42Speaker 2: also knows that term.
- 1:46:44Speaker 4: That's that is true, right, that is true?
- 1:46:47Speaker 2: Good to anything else from practice, No, no, no, nothing else.
- 1:46:55Speaker 4: We did see.
- 1:46:56Speaker 5: I would just say, you know, not to give anything
- 1:46:58Speaker 5: too much away, but some of the guys that are
- 1:47:01Speaker 5: on those reserve lists p U, P I R. They're
- 1:47:05Speaker 5: getting closer, which I think is good news. I saw
- 1:47:08Speaker 5: Kendrick Bourne today in the locker room.
- 1:47:10Speaker 4: Pads.
- 1:47:11Speaker 2: Yeah, we already talked about that.
- 1:47:12Speaker 4: Oh, like the reserve guys.
- 1:47:15Speaker 5: Those guys, No, no, those guys are not, but they
- 1:47:18Speaker 5: there there when there.
- 1:47:19Speaker 2: Were no born.
- 1:47:20Speaker 7: No.
- 1:47:21Speaker 4: I know they can't practice, but I was wondering if
- 1:47:23Speaker 4: they're doing their rehab work in full past.
- 1:47:25Speaker 5: That was not not to our eye. But I don't
- 1:47:29Speaker 5: know what happens once they get on the rehab field.
- 1:47:32Speaker 5: But not to our eye. But I would say Kendrick Bourneuki.
- 1:47:39Speaker 4: Sooner.
- 1:47:40Speaker 5: I don't know about Mapu, but sooner rather than later,
- 1:47:42Speaker 5: I would say for both those guys, Mapu. To me,
- 1:47:46Speaker 5: Mapu is more about do they feel like he has
- 1:47:49Speaker 5: a role more than is he healthy and ready to play?
- 1:47:54Speaker 5: Taki Taki. I feel like they believe is gonna help
- 1:47:58Speaker 5: replace Bentley. Uh, but I'm not sure how they feel
- 1:48:01Speaker 5: yet about Mapu.
- 1:48:02Speaker 4: Interesting.
- 1:48:03Speaker 2: Okay, web radio at Patriots dot com is the email address.
- 1:48:08Speaker 2: The offensive line was not going to get fixed this offseason. Nope,
- 1:48:12Speaker 2: Tyron Smith was never coming to New England. He explicitly
- 1:48:16Speaker 2: stated that he wanted to play for a contender, and
- 1:48:18Speaker 2: it's obvious to everyone that the Patriots aren't. Jonah Williams,
- 1:48:22Speaker 2: I can conceive was an option, though I don't think
- 1:48:25Speaker 2: he's any more exciting than the traffic cones we currently have.
- 1:48:30Speaker 2: If this is the best level of player we need
- 1:48:32Speaker 2: to pacify people, then Wolf should go and sign Baktari.
- 1:48:37Speaker 2: Bill created the problems that Elliott is dealing with, and
- 1:48:41Speaker 2: personally agree with that. I'd rather potentially have a quarterback
- 1:48:44Speaker 2: and wide receiver for the next ten years.
- 1:48:46Speaker 4: Point being, I don't do it too, we don't.
- 1:48:49Speaker 2: Point being I don't think that there were a lot
- 1:48:51Speaker 2: of real options for the Patriots that left tackle, and
- 1:48:54Speaker 2: people are just looking to place blame for a Bill
- 1:48:57Speaker 2: problem on this new regime. Not forget that Bill's only
- 1:49:01Speaker 2: solution to addressing left tackle was bringing.
- 1:49:04Speaker 4: In low I I definitely agree with that.
- 1:49:08Speaker 2: I thought that was this year.
- 1:49:10Speaker 4: He was brought in for like a like the third
- 1:49:12Speaker 4: or fourth tackle. Okay, like they don't have a left tackle?
- 1:49:16Speaker 4: Like do I have to keep doing this?
- 1:49:18Speaker 2: I think he literally, you don't have any fast even
- 1:49:20Speaker 2: last year.
- 1:49:21Speaker 4: No, Like, I agree with him, this is Bill Bill
- 1:49:23Speaker 4: created this problem. I agree with that. Yeah, but we've
- 1:49:26Speaker 4: done nothing to try to fit at least start to
- 1:49:28Speaker 4: fix it right, And he's saying he had to start
- 1:49:30Speaker 4: from scratch again next year.
- 1:49:31Speaker 2: And he said Bill didn't either. He didn't try to
- 1:49:34Speaker 2: fix it either.
- 1:49:34Speaker 4: But he had a left tackle, not one that you loved,
- 1:49:38Speaker 4: but he had Trent Brown.
- 1:49:39Speaker 2: Trent Brown.
- 1:49:40Speaker 4: Yeah, like there's a difference. They had a left tackle
- 1:49:43Speaker 4: on the roster. I personally had no faith in Trent Brown,
- 1:49:48Speaker 4: but he was a left tackle. He played left tackle for.
- 1:49:51Speaker 2: You, that's true, and played left tackle.
- 1:49:54Speaker 4: Before you, So I mean he was more of a
- 1:49:58Speaker 4: right tackle, but he played left tackle for the Patriots.
- 1:50:02Speaker 5: I definitely agree that with the fact that it is
- 1:50:04Speaker 5: an inherited problem. Yeah, last off season they had ample opportunities.
- 1:50:09Speaker 5: It was a decent free agent class at the tackle position.
- 1:50:12Speaker 5: You had McGary, mcglinchy, Juwan Taylor, Like there is decent
- 1:50:17Speaker 5: tackles available in free agency. They didn't draft to tackle
- 1:50:20Speaker 5: on the twenty three draft. You know, Gonzales White Mapu
- 1:50:24Speaker 5: right off the top. So I agree with that part
- 1:50:27Speaker 5: of the email. They had better opportunities to address it
- 1:50:31Speaker 5: last off season than they did this offseason.
- 1:50:34Speaker 4: And they don't want blame Pie. It's vast majority on
- 1:50:38Speaker 4: the previous regime. I would wholeheartedly agree. I'm not killing
- 1:50:41Speaker 4: Elliott Woolf because of the state of the offensive line.
- 1:50:44Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:50:44Speaker 4: I'm questioning his refusal to even add a single option
- 1:50:51Speaker 4: at the position. That's the only thing I'm questioning. But
- 1:50:53Speaker 4: this problem was created by Belichick.
- 1:50:57Speaker 2: Let's get to the TPX hotline. Don'son North Carolina. What's up? Done? Done?
- 1:51:05Speaker 4: Okay, Don, he's gone.
- 1:51:08Speaker 2: We'll go to Alex and Austin. What's up Alex?
- 1:51:11Speaker 17: Hey, we do it? Good question for Evan. One of
- 1:51:17Speaker 17: the things that I saw that gave the Saints success
- 1:51:21Speaker 17: against the Cowboys and Micah Parsons in particular was their
- 1:51:25Speaker 17: use of chipping and cutting to kind of mask their
- 1:51:29Speaker 17: less susteller tackle play. Is that something that you could
- 1:51:34Speaker 17: see us implementing in the future to deal with a
- 1:51:37Speaker 17: Nick Bosa this week? Perhaps?
- 1:51:39Speaker 10: And I'll take it off the thanks.
- 1:51:41Speaker 5: Okay, Yeah, they do a decent amount of chipping with
- 1:51:44Speaker 5: the tight ends already. I cut. Blogging is is tough.
- 1:51:50Speaker 5: You know, that's a that's a hit or miss type
- 1:51:53Speaker 5: of thing, especially the rules that we are now. But
- 1:51:56Speaker 5: they do a decent amount of chipping with the tight
- 1:51:58Speaker 5: ends already. I think the one thing that I would
- 1:52:02Speaker 5: just say is maybe some more concepts where you're only
- 1:52:05Speaker 5: sending two guys into the route Like. I don't love
- 1:52:07Speaker 5: those types of concepts normally, but when you can't block anybody,
- 1:52:11Speaker 5: I wouldn't even chip. I would just leave the tight
- 1:52:14Speaker 5: end in there, like especially against a guy like Nick
- 1:52:16Speaker 5: Bosa Matts pro Yeah, seven eight guys in protection.
- 1:52:21Speaker 4: I would rather do that.
- 1:52:22Speaker 5: I get the chip and release element because now usually
- 1:52:25Speaker 5: the chip guy becomes an outlet or like a check
- 1:52:27Speaker 5: down late in the progression.
- 1:52:30Speaker 4: But against a guy like that, I might just leave
- 1:52:34Speaker 4: him in.
- 1:52:34Speaker 2: Yeah, what's the latest one? Pretty?
- 1:52:36Speaker 3: I know we're getting the injury report this afternoon. But
- 1:52:38Speaker 3: he's banged up too, isn't.
- 1:52:39Speaker 4: He HADNRI in his back that came back clean now
- 1:52:42Speaker 4: according to reports.
- 1:52:44Speaker 3: Deal with the pain.
- 1:52:47Speaker 4: He ran a lot the other day.
- 1:52:49Speaker 2: Yeah, ten times, Josh Wrightson. I'd just like to take
- 1:52:52Speaker 2: a minute and thank Fred profusely on behalf of all
- 1:52:55Speaker 2: listeners for knowing when to give up on callers that
- 1:52:58Speaker 2: are breaking up in lack during the postgame show. I
- 1:53:04Speaker 2: don't know, am I doing? Am I gonna have to
- 1:53:05Speaker 2: do something about this?
- 1:53:06Speaker 4: Well, just so you know, we've now had okay, go ahead,
- 1:53:08Speaker 4: finished THEA.
- 1:53:08Speaker 2: During the post game show, there were several callers that
- 1:53:11Speaker 2: sounded like they were phoning in from a washing machine,
- 1:53:14Speaker 2: and we're allowed to stay on the line for the
- 1:53:16Speaker 2: better part of a minute. While it was funny to
- 1:53:18Speaker 2: watch Paul squirm, it made for a brutal listen. And
- 1:53:21Speaker 2: on another note, has Paul named any tackles yet?
- 1:53:26Speaker 4: So we had an email criticized Matt for not allowing
- 1:53:30Speaker 4: me to talk long enough. They're on too long.
- 1:53:36Speaker 11: This is fun because the show, it's kind of like
- 1:53:41Speaker 11: going from with Hardy from Trent Brown to Calvin Anderson
- 1:53:44Speaker 11: and I'm just kind of wondering if we'd get low audience.
- 1:53:48Speaker 2: Oh wow, I'm not sure Trent Brown is why the
- 1:53:54Speaker 2: fire is lit on that's seat.
- 1:53:56Speaker 4: Huh, He's not the hot seat. I don't know if
- 1:53:58Speaker 4: Tren Brown is really there.
- 1:54:02Speaker 2: I don't think Matt realized how tough this job is.
- 1:54:05Speaker 2: I'll I'll tell you guys. I was sitting in my
- 1:54:08Speaker 2: office during the off season, and you know, it became
- 1:54:11Speaker 2: clear that Hardy wasn't coming back that day, and Matt
- 1:54:14Speaker 2: walked into my office. You know how he walks in,
- 1:54:17Speaker 2: He says, Fred, I like to formally put my hat
- 1:54:20Speaker 2: in the ring to be the post and pregame show host.
- 1:54:25Speaker 3: Please and thank you, please and thanks. So I say, though,
- 1:54:28Speaker 3: I said to Paul, and this has nothing to do
- 1:54:29Speaker 3: with Matt Smith. Just Hardy is so talented and funny
- 1:54:33Speaker 3: and there was such an ease of the show with
- 1:54:35Speaker 3: him that it was gonna be impossible for anybody to
- 1:54:37Speaker 3: really step into that role and do it the way
- 1:54:40Speaker 3: that he did it.
- 1:54:41Speaker 4: I referred to him as yeah, I mean as we
- 1:54:45Speaker 4: had a lot of hosts.
- 1:54:47Speaker 2: And you know he knows magic. Did you know that?
- 1:54:49Speaker 7: Wow?
- 1:54:50Speaker 4: What a what a talent music? He is very talented.
- 1:54:54Speaker 3: I'm just no, I I do miss him.
- 1:54:56Speaker 2: I don't know. If you listen that morning show, maybe
- 1:54:58Speaker 2: he'll be back here before we know it.
- 1:55:05Speaker 3: I'm a friend of the show.
- 1:55:05Speaker 2: I think William writes in love the show. I don't
- 1:55:09Speaker 2: have time to email, but he did that. But I
- 1:55:12Speaker 2: listened on a regular basis. I really like to get
- 1:55:14Speaker 2: the newsletter well by emailing. Now you already did so,
- 1:55:18Speaker 2: thank you for emailing. And you'll be in the El
- 1:55:24Speaker 2: Patriots Unfiltered Newsletter.
- 1:55:27Speaker 4: Are we writing this? Yes, you are well.
- 1:55:30Speaker 2: You might be asked to contribute something, but the newsletter
- 1:55:34Speaker 2: will be put together by our marketing team. But we'll
- 1:55:38Speaker 2: have you know, clips from the show, and we'll have
- 1:55:40Speaker 2: our u we'll have the records of all of our
- 1:55:44Speaker 2: picks up to date in each newsletter.
- 1:55:47Speaker 4: We have to yeah, yeah, yes, because we have to
- 1:55:51Speaker 4: be integrity.
- 1:55:54Speaker 2: We were accountable. And we'll have an email of the
- 1:55:57Speaker 2: week where maybe we give away something to a listener,
- 1:56:02Speaker 2: so we might have something from Evan, you know.
- 1:56:05Speaker 3: Saying Evan's rumblings from the locker room. What I'm hearing,
- 1:56:08Speaker 3: you know.
- 1:56:11Speaker 4: I said, I'm not really sure about that.
- 1:56:13Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, So that's it.
- 1:56:17Speaker 4: That's it.
- 1:56:17Speaker 2: I've said, we've I've said.
- 1:56:18Speaker 4: Enough, you're gonna.
- 1:56:22Speaker 11: Do.
- 1:56:22Speaker 2: I got things to do, and we'll be back tomorrow.
- 1:56:24Speaker 2: We get picks coming, so we got you know, I
- 1:56:27Speaker 2: got a.
- 1:56:27Speaker 4: Lot of you gotta go find some weapons for the office.
- 1:56:29Speaker 2: I got I got a lot to do. Email. Who
- 1:56:32Speaker 2: was the last weapon on the Patriots? Gronk?
- 1:56:37Speaker 4: I would just Ben had to be Gronk, right, I
- 1:56:40Speaker 4: think under your definition? Under your definition, yeah yeah, I
- 1:56:45Speaker 4: mean to me, like a weapon in the running back
- 1:56:48Speaker 4: would be like McCaffrey or Camara, you know, end of list, Barkley,
- 1:56:55Speaker 4: like guys that can truly impact big play potential with
- 1:56:59Speaker 4: the run in the past, and Stevenson's like a really
- 1:57:02Speaker 4: good play like I put Stevenson more like welcome and Edelman.
- 1:57:06Speaker 4: I'll take those guys on my team every day and
- 1:57:08Speaker 4: they're gonna help me win every week. Yeah, but I don't.
- 1:57:12Speaker 4: I don't look at him the same.
- 1:57:14Speaker 2: It's going to live forever. Now.
- 1:57:15Speaker 4: I have to get that off of there. I lost
- 1:57:18Speaker 4: my pool. It'll be good for put.
- 1:57:21Speaker 3: A name to the claim in the spring on top
- 1:57:23Speaker 3: of the draft stuff.
- 1:57:24Speaker 4: And let you know.
- 1:57:25Speaker 5: I'm just waiting for tomorrow morning when Toucher and Hardy
- 1:57:28Speaker 5: play Fred ripping them on the air, because you know
- 1:57:32Speaker 5: that's coming.
- 1:57:33Speaker 4: That's okay, yeah, nobody, all.
- 1:57:36Speaker 2: Right, we'll be back tomorrow. Catch twenty two today.
- 1:57:39Speaker 4: Tomorrow, tomorrow Today's playbook to make play up inside the playbook.
- 1:57:43Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, and then catch twenty two tomorrow at
- 1:57:46Speaker 2: two thirty correct. All right, we'll talk to you tomorrow.
