- 0:04[SPEAKER_03]: Hello, welcome to the M&P NFL podcast, that's out of the career.
- 0:10[SPEAKER_03]: Over in Massachusetts, I'm Connor Orton in New Jersey.
- 0:13[SPEAKER_03]: And we are hot seat episode coming, and I will put the typical disclaimer in front of it, which some people don't think you need other people that is a part of life, it just happens.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_03]: But I would say this now, having covered the NFL for 15 years, having lost jobs, myself, that,
- 0:31[SPEAKER_03]: We're going to add the necessary caveat that this is something that doesn't, you know, give us a great deal of pleasure.
- 0:39[SPEAKER_03]: But it's something that you have to talk about because it's a very important part of the NFL counter.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_03]: It's not like, you know, I'm going to say, well, these coaches are making $7 million a year.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_03]: And then they're going to get paid not to work.
- 0:49[SPEAKER_03]: Who cares?
- 0:50[SPEAKER_03]: I agree.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_03]: What I would care about are like the people who are like the quality control coaches.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_03]: And this was their only shot.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_03]: and yeah they weren't making anywhere near seven million dollars and they move their family to you know Indianapolis and now have to figure out what the f they're going to do you know and and try to jump in because college cycles are already over and what are you going to do and and yes there's there's a lot of people who are affected in every one of these like I even thought about it like during the Michigan thing last week like where it's like
- 1:20[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you imagine like, you know, you're a position coach and now your kids have to change school because of that, you know what I mean, like it's like, so these are real life situations obviously and it is to some degree what they all signed up for, they all know what they're in for but it doesn't mean that it doesn't, it doesn't sting and it doesn't affect them and
- 1:42[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so like every one of these is got dozens of stories like that like where so and so has to pull up stays and move and find new schools and and a lot of these cases it means the family spending.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_00]: Four months with their dad and another city you know what I mean like so there's stuff like that that for sure you you want to be cognizant of.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_03]: Oh man, I was talking to one coach who said that they're so his son was in kindergarten, I want to say.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_03]: And the teacher was like a football fan, and I guess just flippantly brought up the tenuous nature of his dad's job security to the child who was in kindergarten.
- 2:26[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, yeah, it's like we were
- 2:28[SPEAKER_03]: He's like, oh yeah, like if the defense doesn't play well, like your dance probably gonna get fired at the end of the year and then the kids like what you know and and if you don't think that that you know it's a guy remember talking to
- 2:42[SPEAKER_03]: one NFL coach who's he's in the family business right and you know dad was a coach his dad was a coach his dad was a coach and he would go into school during the day and the principal would have like a copy of the newspaper and he'd be like hey I just want you to I just want to pull you aside and like you know that like this is what people wrote about your dad today like you're gonna be okay is everything gonna be alright you know do you want to
- 3:11[SPEAKER_03]: do you want to just have class in here like this is insane and this is before this is the pre Kevin Patuolo house egging era and it's only gotten worse so i'm just a little bit of sympathy for these people for sure um before we get there i just wanted uh just a very very quick um announcement i actually for those of you guys who don't know
- 3:34[SPEAKER_03]: I work for a charity called The Greater Newark Holiday Fund, and we did an awesome giving Tuesday drive just a couple of weeks ago, and I just want to give people, if you have a Christmas giving plan, a year-end holiday giving plan, I just want to throw out there, holidayfund.org, we do everything.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_03]: It's a one-stop service for, you know, diapers
- 4:04[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, our lines at food pantries are growing by the minute.
- 4:08[SPEAKER_03]: We're getting new clientele every single day at all of our partner service agencies So if you have an opportunity to check out holidayfund.org We inject charities with money at the end of the of the season because their funds are depleted and they're dried out, right?
- 4:27[SPEAKER_03]: So that's what we aim to do
- 4:29[SPEAKER_03]: just check it out okay uh... and uh... and all right let's get back to uh... let's get back to the hot sea up to this is honestly check it out like uh... congress done great work with them for a long time so yeah off second that for you and we can move on excellent thank you uh... so this was initially a cycle where Albert i thought and just you know i start kind of making calls on this in middle of october
- 4:55[SPEAKER_03]: And then some coaches going to run and they save their job, some coaches, you know, do the opposite and then they end up kind of losing their job, this one I thought was going to be a pretty concise, it was going to be a small cycle, but you and I were talking a little bit before the show and we got one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten pretty easily.
- 5:17[SPEAKER_03]: And now not all ten of these are going to happen.
- 5:20[SPEAKER_03]: And I think we have a
- 5:25[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, how do we get here?
- 5:26[SPEAKER_03]: Cause this seems like, again, we've had big cycles and then that usually leads to a small one and then a big one, this might be big one followed by big one.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it might be and I think it's, you know,
- 5:41[SPEAKER_00]: It's hard to say that there's one thing that ties them all together.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just like looking at them now.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_00]: We obviously have the two that are already there, right?
- 5:47[SPEAKER_00]: Is the giants in the titans.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_00]: So if you get six more than that means you got eight.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_00]: If you get eight more, that means you got ten.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_00]: So we're already into it.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_00]: I just think like it's,
- 6:02[SPEAKER_00]: I think there are some teams that have failed to live up to expectations.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_00]: There are some coaches that are still relatively early in their ten years who haven't created the bump that may be the owner's expected, and I just think the way the stuff gets talked about now.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_00]: I think in a year, you have like the normal climate, which is like, you know, I think ramps up a little bit every year.
- 6:27[SPEAKER_00]: And then you have first year coaches this year that have that get this huge bump.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_00]: And I think it creates this in other cities like, well, what the hell?
- 6:37[SPEAKER_00]: Like, we've been told to wait.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_00]: And look at what Mike Rable is doing in New England, look at what Liam Cohen's doing in Jacksonville, look at what Ben Johnson's doing in Chicago, and I think that's a natural thing too that happens, you know, where it's like the fan bases and then eventually the owners start to look at and say, wait a minute, I was told this was going to take three or four years to rebuild why.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_00]: And that a lot of times can be devoid of circumstance, that can be devoid of the situation that was inherited, where a lot of people will just look at it blindly and say, like, well, you know, how come variable Cohen and Johnson can do this, but you can't, you know?
- 7:21[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's just sort of, it's what it becomes, you know what I mean?
- 7:28[SPEAKER_00]: all three of those guys have quarterbacks who are drafted in the top three, right?
- 7:32[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, maybe, you know, you, you, you look at those situations and you can pick a part a few circumstance where you say, okay, like this explains it a little bit more than just the coach coming in and winning with all due respect to the job those guys have done because all three of those guys have been fantastic.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_03]: Right.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_03]: All right.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_03]: So let's let's jump through them here and and I'm going to run down the list and and what I want to do for each of these teams.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_03]: I want to handicap the chance that this actually goes and then I want to give the people.
- 8:07[SPEAKER_03]: Let's say two or three.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_03]: names that they can hang on to if that makes sense.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_03]: And so the first one here is the giants and Albert I would venture to guess that this is a 100% chance that this job will open because the job is already open.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_03]: But let's talk a little bit about this job.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_03]: I would say
- 8:27[SPEAKER_03]: just looking broadly at the teams that we have at our disposal, this is probably the best or the second best opening in terms of the talent pool that you're going to have.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_03]: There's a blue blood nature to this organization that while it has fallen on hard times.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, listen,
- 8:51[SPEAKER_03]: I like this opening.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_03]: You already have a quarterback.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_03]: You have a left tackle.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_03]: You have some past rushing talent.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_03]: You rebuild the secondary and you can make a run into division in the next two years.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think that's happening.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_00]: I think like, you know, I look at it.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_00]: Like, and I've sort of like, use this line over the last few years is like, okay, how many guys are on the roster that you can say, probably be there in three years?
- 9:17[SPEAKER_00]: They're a bunch with the child.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_00]: A lot.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_00]: Jackson, Dart, Malik, Neighbors.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_00]: I think Theo Johnson, Andrew Thomas, Dexter, Lawrence, Brian Burns, Abdul Carter.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_00]: Like, there are, I would say a bunch of guys, and a lot of those guys played premium positions.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_00]: What I mean, like, that's neighbors, that's Thomas.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_00]: That's, obviously, Dart, that's Carter.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I, I just, I look at it like,
- 9:43[SPEAKER_00]: I've sort of had them as a surprise team because I think that they are close to like breaking through.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_00]: And for one reason or another, it hasn't happened yet.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_00]: I would say the one drawback is you need to be okay with working in New York, which is a different environment, but
- 10:06[SPEAKER_00]: I'd say it's stiff, you covered both teams so you can give inside to this.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_00]: It's not quite the same with the giants as it is with the jets.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_03]: No, covering the jets and coaching the jets is, and I think even that's changed.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_03]: In 2010, covering the jets or coaching the jets was probably like,
- 10:28[SPEAKER_03]: putting your, you know, what's in a vice every day and just squeezing it a little tighter.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_03]: You know, whereas the giants, there is a, I don't know, there's a, there's a, there's a, there's a what, steadiness.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_03]: There's a steadiness to it.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_03]: And so I think that, you know, you're not really worried about anything.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, Brian Dable is probably the most volatile coach that they've had in my lifetime.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, in terms of, you know, going from fossil all the way up to, all the way up to table.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_03]: But like, there was no, I mean, the biggest controversy may have been him taking issue with the concussion spotter, which Jackson Dart has the same issue with the concussion spotter.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_03]: So, I mean, I'm not saying you shouldn't make a light of concussions, but I do think that Jackson Dart feels like he's being singled out and so Brian Dable was backing him on that,
- 11:23[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, for for on, on actually being spotted when he was getting taken out of these games.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_03]: So whatever, that's just a long way of saying that the controversies with that team don't blow up into full blown.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_03]: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no
- 12:03[SPEAKER_03]: whatever you want to call it, die a tribe that ended up costing him his job, right?
- 12:07[SPEAKER_03]: And so I think that's different.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_03]: But even then, it wasn't a controversy.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_03]: It was just like, okay, you can't do that.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_03]: And so here's the door.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_03]: I think that in that way, like if you're capable, if you're winning nine games or eight games,
- 12:24[SPEAKER_03]: And you're putting together a decent product on the field.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_03]: They're going to love you and you're going to stay there.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_03]: And so for me, I think this is one of the best jobs.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_00]: Now my question would be like, it's the presence of Joe Shane, right?
- 12:40[SPEAKER_00]: Is this how you am?
- 12:41[SPEAKER_00]: And like, is it a mic McCarthy?
- 12:47[SPEAKER_00]: Or is it a Chris Shua?
- 12:49[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
- 12:50[SPEAKER_00]: Like is it?
- 12:53[SPEAKER_00]: Are you, after gambling a little bit with your last two hires, with Joe Judge and Brian Dayball, are you going to go back to a guy who has previous experience three or the four hires they've made since Kaufflin had been first time head coaches, right?
- 13:11[SPEAKER_00]: Mackadou, Judge and Dayball, right?
- 13:14[SPEAKER_00]: The one guy they had with experience was Shermer.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_00]: So do you go back to the, to the, to the well and try to find your own
- 13:23[SPEAKER_00]: or do you find a guy with previous experience?
- 13:28[SPEAKER_00]: And I think there's an interesting name here who could bridge the gap is Jeff Hathley.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_00]: and Green Day.
- 13:37[SPEAKER_00]: And he's from New Jersey.
- 13:39[SPEAKER_00]: He coached.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_00]: He has been a head coach.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_00]: It was the college level, but he has been a head coach.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_00]: And there are a lot of Boston college ties in that building, right?
- 13:49[SPEAKER_00]: So he's one guy, Lou and her most another guy who was with Joe Shane and Miami.
- 13:54[SPEAKER_00]: I would think he'll get a look.
- 13:55[SPEAKER_00]: He's from Staten Island.
- 13:58[SPEAKER_00]: You know, and he's older, so he doesn't have the head coaching experience, but he's a little bit more experienced.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_00]: I just think it's going to be interesting to see which way they go because I mean to strike out four times in a row.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_00]: I mean.
- 14:13[SPEAKER_00]: I don't the giant struck out in my lifetime.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_00]: The giants really struck out once before that, right?
- 14:18[SPEAKER_00]: Because they had parcels when I was a kid.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_00]: Ray Hanley was a strikeout.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_00]: Then they had Dan Reeves, who was good.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yep.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_00]: And they had fossil, who was fossil, who was superbowl.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_00]: Then they had coffle.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_00]: Coffle.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_00]: So like they, this organization, like this is a, this is,
- 14:36[SPEAKER_03]: foreign territory for them since like we go back to like the seventies right yeah but i you know i think it's it's crazy to me that we like this is gonna happen when the steelers move on and my tomlin move apart like you're you're not going to be able to keep really crazy you know it yeah right it's just not possible because the underlying thing in all this and i guess you could argue that giants are a little bit different
- 15:06[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, it was Carrie Collins, but it was Phil Sims, like there were great quarterbacks that bridge the gaps for all of these coaches.
- 15:14[SPEAKER_03]: And, you know, Bill Cower handed off to Mike Tomlom with Ben Rothersberger.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_03]: And so it's this isn't going to keep happening.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_03]: And so I want to take some of the, I think some of the stigma should be removed from like striking out.
- 15:28[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, the eagle struck out.
- 15:30[UNKNOWN]: Right.
- 15:30[SPEAKER_03]: You know, the eagle and whatever, uh, Eagle strike out as a relative strike out though, me and wasn't like,
- 15:36[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, yeah, Chip Kelly won double digit games in two of his three seasons there.
- 15:39[SPEAKER_03]: He just didn't go to the end of Christmas party.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_03]: So, you know, which I gotta go.
- 15:45[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, like, so I think like a halfway is interesting because he's young.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_00]: He can be, you know, and he again, he does have head coaching experience.
- 15:53[SPEAKER_00]: And I think one of the things that's interesting about halfway two, just versus versus what they've had there,
- 16:04[SPEAKER_00]: Micah Parsons, Xavier McKinney, who was seen as kind of like, person on Grotto with the Giants, like he reaches Xavier McKinney and gets a great year out of him.
- 16:15[SPEAKER_00]: I just think like,
- 16:17[SPEAKER_00]: Like, halfway's one that kind of checks boxes for the giants.
- 16:21[SPEAKER_00]: You know, like, and I'm not saying that, like, again, like, I'd still put him in, like, the dark horse category because I don't I don't think you can see anything's automatic.
- 16:29[SPEAKER_00]: Again, I think in Rulo Scott, like a good case there too, is sort of interesting because he's from there.
- 16:34[SPEAKER_00]: like McCarthy I think would be kind of like the okay like we want to stabilize things you know and McCarthy's baseline and Dallas was 12 wins he know what I mean like so he knows the division but I you know I think athletes kind of an interesting one for them
- 16:52[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I had halfway as my early favorite for that job, and if you follow any strange offshore NFL aggregation accounts, you would have believed that I said that he was getting the job.
- 17:07[SPEAKER_03]: But I think that, yeah, he's my early favorite for this job.
- 17:10[SPEAKER_03]: He checks every box that the giants need.
- 17:13[SPEAKER_03]: He's going to be able to work with those defensive pieces.
- 17:15[SPEAKER_03]: He has previous head coaching experience.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_00]: the the giant organization and and ties to the like his.
- 17:23[SPEAKER_00]: His roots in the NFL are shenanne.
- 17:27[SPEAKER_00]: So shenanne roots in the NFL ties to those offensive coaches, which is going to give him a deep well of connections to go and get an offensive coordinator and he performed well at Boston College, which another great giant's coach at one point did.
- 17:45[SPEAKER_03]: And a lot of people in that organization went to BC.
- 17:48[SPEAKER_03]: I'm just saying that there's a lot there in the owner.
- 17:50[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, so just saying.
- 17:54[SPEAKER_03]: So anyway, yeah, so I think giants, 100% get it open.
- 17:58[SPEAKER_03]: Let me give you one more there.
- 18:00[SPEAKER_03]: OK. What do you think about Marcus Freeman?
- 18:02[SPEAKER_03]: So he was also on my shortlist, the giants also have a lot of Notre Dame ties and what Marcus Freeman brings, I think are two things.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_03]: I think that he is an excellent defensive coach.
- 18:17[SPEAKER_03]: He's a former NFL player, which does well right now.
- 18:22[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 18:24[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 18:26[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, I'm old to make
- 18:32[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
- 18:33[SPEAKER_03]: I'm gonna put I'm gonna sound like a real Notre Dame home right here But they're not quite the brand that Notre Dame is, but it's close in terms of Relative to the rest of the NFL like Marcus Freeman has to be you may like what Michigan pretends to be sorry What's with this guy?
- 18:52[SPEAKER_03]: Let's let this part guy put the pieces of his life back together first
- 18:55[SPEAKER_03]: Um, he's got to be like the CEO of, of, of JPMorgan, right?
- 19:00[SPEAKER_03]: Uh, and Marcus Freeman's got to do so much that other college coaches don't have to do, because Notre Dame is a, it's, it's, it's an empire.
- 19:10[SPEAKER_03]: It's a business.
- 19:11[SPEAKER_03]: It's a, it's like a way of being.
- 19:13[SPEAKER_03]: And so I think that,
- 19:16[SPEAKER_03]: NFL teams are attracted to that.
- 19:19[SPEAKER_03]: I think he's done a fantastic job.
- 19:21[SPEAKER_03]: I wish that like he would just have beaten like Northern Illinois and maybe, you know, how do you go to the national championship game in that season?
- 19:32[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 19:33[SPEAKER_03]: And maybe hung a little bit tougher against Miami, but we played like a 31-year-old Carson back in that game.
- 19:39[SPEAKER_03]: So I'm not going to, I'm not going to fault him for losing that one.
- 19:42[SPEAKER_03]: But
- 19:43[SPEAKER_03]: I think he's another one.
- 19:45[SPEAKER_03]: And in fact, if I had to, so I wrote like a little shortlist when when David was fired and I would say halfly and halfly and Freeman go one two for me.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, that's that's probably.
- 19:58[SPEAKER_00]: They both make sense.
- 19:58[SPEAKER_00]: I think they both like kind of fit the Giants ethos too.
- 20:02[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I agree.
- 20:02[SPEAKER_00]: Like so.
- 20:03[SPEAKER_03]: Appreciate it.
- 20:06[SPEAKER_03]: Guys, I have to tell you about cash app.

- 21:31[SPEAKER_03]: All right, Titan Zalbert again, 100% chance that this job is open, unlike the giant's job, where I thought that my Kafka had a shot, but I don't
- 21:43[SPEAKER_03]: You know, and this is just me talking.
- 21:45[SPEAKER_03]: I probably don't think he has one anymore.
- 21:47[SPEAKER_03]: I think he's losing a little bit of ground in that.
- 21:50[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think Mike McCoy has a shot at the full-time job.
- 21:54[SPEAKER_03]: If I were the Titans, I would interview Bones Vossle, because he's already on staff, and or at least hope that you can keep him.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_03]: But otherwise, I mean, this is a blowup.
- 22:02[SPEAKER_03]: And if you're Borganzi, you want to start over.
- 22:05[SPEAKER_03]: And what I've heard from this job, I think a week or two ago,
- 22:13[SPEAKER_03]: young energetic someone that's going to come in there and, you know, stir the pot, get everybody going and bring the juice.
- 22:20[SPEAKER_03]: That said, and again, this is just me talking.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_03]: I think this is a team that is looking at the completion of the new stadium next year.
- 22:28[SPEAKER_03]: They're looking at a lot of variables that are out of their control and maybe a name here helps where somebody
- 22:39[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I mean, I think when this all started, we were, you know, what you do is you immediately look at the connections.
- 22:45[SPEAKER_00]: So Chad Branker, their president of football operations, where he come from, he came from Green Bay, who was the head coach in Green Bay.
- 22:52[SPEAKER_00]: Like most of his time there was Mike McCarthy.
- 22:54[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah Mike Burganzi, where he come from Kansas City, who is the offensive coordinator in Kansas City, who also has head coaching experience.
- 23:01[SPEAKER_00]: Matt Negg, who has been there twice now at that naggy.
- 23:05[SPEAKER_00]: So, like, there are some easy names to draw there, Regime Kenzie also in that building.
- 23:12[SPEAKER_00]: They're really drawing Dave Ziggler, like, so if you want to look down the Patriot,
- 23:17[SPEAKER_00]: like Wayne, like Brian Flores is somebody who has connections both to Ziggler and to Borganzi, Borganzi, and Flores were actually together for Boston College, but we better not.
- 23:27[SPEAKER_00]: So like I'm with you.
- 23:30[SPEAKER_00]: Like I think what they wanted to do when they came in was like, okay, like we wanna like, we wanna look at everything here.
- 23:37[SPEAKER_00]: Like when they let Brian go, it's like, we're gonna use this time to research and we're gonna call a list.
- 23:45[SPEAKER_00]: based on what works and what doesn't work and we're going to look at everything.
- 23:50[SPEAKER_00]: And so, you know, they've been able to do that.
- 23:54[SPEAKER_00]: The interesting thing about the point that you made about young, young, young, right?
- 23:58[SPEAKER_00]: It's most of those names are defensive names.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that's me.
- 24:03[SPEAKER_00]: So I look at like, I think it's five defensive coordinators that are young.
- 24:07[SPEAKER_00]: Like the young guy, like we're talking about like the young energetic guy that you're looking for, right?
- 24:11[SPEAKER_00]: Five defensive coordinators to me fit into that.
- 24:14[SPEAKER_00]: We talked about halfly, right?
- 24:16[SPEAKER_00]: Jesse Minter was a Jargers, Napberg with Houston.
- 24:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 24:21[SPEAKER_00]: And you camp a Nellie with the Jaguar's crystal with the Rams.
- 24:30[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, this is sort of the result of everybody tapping the young offensive coach.
- 24:37[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, pipeline and never type tap in the young defensive coach pipeline is that like now, I think you've got like real, like a bunch of real candidates and guys who actually like, like have head coach qualities that are in that defensive pipeline.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_00]: And then Mike McDonald makes a couple older guys like Brian Flores like who's been around obviously It's a little older than those guys and then obviously Lulin and Ruma but there are a lot of good defensive names
- 25:03[SPEAKER_03]: He, yeah, Mike McDonald makes it okay.
- 25:08[SPEAKER_03]: He shows you that and here's the thing about this and I want to just say this.
- 25:12[SPEAKER_03]: There's a lot of good offensive coaches that aren't meant to be head coaches and they can come and coordinate your offense and it will be okay.
- 25:20[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, right?
- 25:21[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm not saying that about anybody in particular, but this- I mean, my McDonald looks like a walkoff home run for this C-Hox right now.
- 25:29[SPEAKER_00]: We'll see how that looks in 24 hours, but like, I mean, because we're always subject to change our mind, right, but like, no, I mean, like McDonald's so far looks like I mean, grand slam has incredible emotional intelligence, too, when it comes to his own staff, where
- 25:46[SPEAKER_03]: Ryan Grubbs is a little bit of a stretch higher and so you immediately and this is hard for first time head coaches to do after one year to go back up to the owner sweet and say hey I got up I got a pull-up plug on this and you got to pay this guy an extra couple million bucks that you weren't planning on paying them because I need a different offensive coordinator and it's worked and he's nailed it and you know there was super bull contender.
- 26:07[SPEAKER_00]: So because the other thing I did here about this one that I think is sort of interesting is I
- 26:12[SPEAKER_00]: whether it's because she doesn't want to be attached to it or she doesn't want to be blamed for I have heard that this really is going to be in Branker and Borgonz in their group's hands.
- 26:22[SPEAKER_00]: Like this is, this is a, this is going to be a football people's decision.
- 26:25[SPEAKER_03]: You know, well, and Amy's had some tough PR right over the, over the last little bit.
- 26:29[SPEAKER_03]: And so I think that makes sense.
- 26:31[SPEAKER_03]: Um, yeah.
- 26:32[SPEAKER_03]: So give me, give me a, give me a name.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_03]: I'll give you a name.
- 26:35[SPEAKER_03]: And then I'm going to give you a
- 26:38[SPEAKER_00]: So as far as energize in the place and with bidding the market and all of that, you know,
- 26:47[SPEAKER_00]: I kind of like Matt Burke there.
- 26:48[SPEAKER_03]: Nice, interesting.
- 26:50[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 26:51[SPEAKER_00]: See the division, right?
- 26:52[SPEAKER_00]: So you kick out the leg from underneath the division when you're like, you've got the Ivy League thing with him, which he's an interesting guy.
- 27:00[SPEAKER_00]: So he actually grew up, believe it or not, one town over from the Massachusetts, which there aren't a lot of NFL people, a lot of pro football people from the state of Massachusetts, but Matt Burke happened to grow up one town over from me.
- 27:12[SPEAKER_03]: He like you is almost 50, also.
- 27:15[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you.
- 27:17[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you.
- 27:18[SPEAKER_00]: I'm halfway there, just to the right.
- 27:23[SPEAKER_00]: I'm on the wrong half right now, but I think he's kind of like somebody who he fits the prototype of what you expect a football coach to look like and carry himself like, right?
- 27:40[SPEAKER_00]: And he's also got the Ivy like background, which I think is going to, which I think is going to, um, I think it's going to appeal to some owners, you know, so he's sort of an interesting one for me just because I do think like
- 27:53[SPEAKER_00]: He's another one like where you look at a checks and boxes, you know, so I do think like whoever goes in there's going to have to have a great plan for the quarterback like and so that's on the map burks that's on the Jesse mentor like I think mentors in the running there I think Schuels in the running there, you know, so like I think all those guys are sort of in that group, but but I think whoever it is if it's going to be a defensive guy is going to have to have a great plan for the quarterback.
- 28:20[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, which so all all for the counter to that right is that I think this goes this could go one of two ways from from that direction where it's again, I just think sometimes the tenor of these searches and I've asked the but you know I I mean you talk about this stuff all the time and you never know where it's going to go but couldn't you see this team getting far down the whole and then just being like I ship we got to hire Mike McCarthy.
- 28:46[SPEAKER_03]: It's just, you know what I mean?
- 28:48[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, McCarthy makes a lot of sense for them too, for sure.
- 28:51[SPEAKER_00]: And you have the pre-existing relationship, you know, I, I think like if you're looking, if you're them and you're saying like we just need to stabilize, right, then McCarthy makes some sense.
- 29:02[SPEAKER_03]: Probably a little bit easier for the fan base, and I'm not saying one is a better coach in the other, but probably a little bit easier for the fan base to take.
- 29:12[SPEAKER_03]: then naggy.
- 29:13[SPEAKER_03]: I would guess just in terms of optics.
- 29:15[SPEAKER_03]: Now I'm not saying one is a better coach than the other right now.
- 29:17[SPEAKER_03]: But if you're thinking about like riling up the fan base, it's like, okay, Mike McCarthy proven quarterback sky, whatever, which I think is its own kind of nice.
- 29:24[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, if you want to re-establish trust with the fan base and like look like the team still weighs off.
- 29:30[SPEAKER_00]: So if you start on three, I'd say there's probably less panic within your fan base.
- 29:35[SPEAKER_00]: If my arc was the coach versus one of the younger guys, you know?
- 29:39[SPEAKER_03]: And then one more that I just want to so I've put this across so I don't want anybody to go freaking out about this I've asked a million people about this and they've all said I have no idea what you're talking about but it's just something that's of interest to me and this is a person who is connected to use connected to Tennessee.
- 29:57[SPEAKER_03]: And in this cycle, in particular, we have all these genius young defensive coaches and the godfather of almost all of them.
- 30:06[SPEAKER_03]: Like I think if you look at the top five defenses, like four of the five, including the guy who's coordinating it, are from the Jim Schwartz Street.
- 30:14[SPEAKER_03]: Jim is a former head coach.
- 30:17[SPEAKER_03]: Didn't do a bad job with the Lions.
- 30:20[SPEAKER_03]: Is arguably the best or second best defensive coordinator in the NFL?
- 30:25[SPEAKER_03]: His defense event is going to break the sack record, having almost never let a game this year.
- 30:31[SPEAKER_03]: And
- 30:32[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
- 30:33[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, Jim is an interesting guy.
- 30:36[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
- 30:36[SPEAKER_03]: Could they bring in Jim for an interview?
- 30:38[SPEAKER_03]: Just an interview.
- 30:39[SPEAKER_03]: He used to be there in Tennessee.
- 30:41[SPEAKER_00]: It's a huge shing name for sure.
- 30:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 30:44[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 30:45[SPEAKER_00]: Or does he come with Matt Burke as the defense of coordinator?
- 30:48[SPEAKER_03]: Or he comes with Matt Burke as the defense of coordinator?
- 30:50[SPEAKER_03]: So I don't know.
- 30:51[SPEAKER_03]: Just an interesting one to think about.
- 30:53[SPEAKER_00]: Or maybe even whether or not he'd be available for that, but yeah.
- 30:55[SPEAKER_00]: That's actually an interesting thought too.
- 30:57[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, let's go to Arizona.
- 30:59[SPEAKER_00]: But one other name, one other name for Tennessee that I think we should mention just Arthur Smith.
- 31:04[SPEAKER_00]: I think, I don't want to like let that go.
- 31:07[SPEAKER_00]: I think if we're looking for an offensive name again, like he's somebody who has such great knowledge of the ownership there and has been, you know, like has seen several different staffs go through there and he was there when they were at their height under variable.
- 31:21[SPEAKER_00]: I think Arthur Smith would be a very sensible hire for them.
- 31:24[SPEAKER_03]: I totally agree.
- 31:26[SPEAKER_03]: I think that that would be, and I like Art as a designer.
- 31:29[SPEAKER_03]: I know he gets kind of knocked, but it's like, our quarterbacks or Desmond Ritter in a 42-year-old Aaron Rodgers with the broken wrist, like, let's give this guy a little bit of, like, let's give this guy a little bit of credit.
- 31:43[SPEAKER_03]: Players who play in that scheme really like him.
- 31:46[SPEAKER_00]: And like I think, and Aaron Rodgers looked as comfortable as he's looked and maybe a couple of years on Monday night.
- 31:53[SPEAKER_00]: They start to find something, you know, so I think he's an interesting man there for sure.
- 32:00[SPEAKER_03]: You know, it's interesting that Art Smith too is I did a story about him last year being a candidate and I reached out to the Steelers and I was like, who's like one of Art's, you know, one of his favorite players, like someone who, you know, someone who can, and someone who can talk ball and, uh, Steelers like, you know, he should talk to is Dan Moore and Dan Moore believe it or not,
- 32:23[SPEAKER_03]: tights.
- 32:23[SPEAKER_03]: So, not saying that's, you know, maybe they ask them about them.
- 32:26[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know who knows.
- 32:27[SPEAKER_03]: All right.
- 32:27[SPEAKER_03]: We got a lot to get through.
- 32:28[SPEAKER_03]: Let's, let's punch the pedal here.
- 32:30[SPEAKER_01]: We'll go back for now.
- 32:31[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 32:32[SPEAKER_03]: Arizona is the next one on the list that we created.
- 32:36[SPEAKER_03]: And I'll see if what I'm going to end up doing here is I'm going to end up writing down some of the names that we talked about.
- 32:45[SPEAKER_03]: And then maybe Shelby can fly this up on the YouTube version.
- 32:48[SPEAKER_03]: So you can see it or I'll tweet it up later.
- 32:50[SPEAKER_03]: But, um,
- 32:51[SPEAKER_00]: Arizona I think like is at this stage where it's like I think Michael bidwell is the owner there really likes the guys he hasn't charged likes money awesome likes Jonathan Ganon, but like the level of regression this year I think has forced him into a spot where
- 33:11[SPEAKER_00]: What do you do, you know, because it seemed like over the first two years, their ability to accumulate draft picks, their ability to accumulate young talent kind of had the team going like this.
- 33:21[SPEAKER_00]: So do you look at this year, if you're bidwell and say, well, like we tried with Kyle and Murray and it didn't work and like that sort of blew up the plan, so I'm going to give these guys some grace.
- 33:34[SPEAKER_00]: Or do you say, you know, we can't have this in the third year of a new program, right?
- 33:40[SPEAKER_03]: Um, all right, let's give me, give me a, let's average together, what are you saying your chances of this turning over our, out of 100% and then I'll do some quick math.
- 33:53[SPEAKER_03]: 70 70.
- 33:54[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 33:54[SPEAKER_03]: I was going to say.
- 33:55[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 33:56[SPEAKER_00]: I would say it's less for GM.
- 33:58[SPEAKER_00]: I would say it's less for GM.
- 33:59[SPEAKER_00]: I say 70 for coach may be like 40 for GM.
- 34:02[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 34:02[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 34:03[SPEAKER_03]: So we'll put GMs in a different bucket.
- 34:04[SPEAKER_03]: So let's say between the two of us 65% chance that this thing is going to turn over.
- 34:09[SPEAKER_03]: We're like weathermen.
- 34:10[SPEAKER_03]: It's like 65% chance it's going to snow and then it doesn't matter who gets it right.
- 34:14[SPEAKER_03]: It's not going to snow anyway.
- 34:15[SPEAKER_03]: Um, some candidates that you like for Arizona because this is a really interesting one, right?
- 34:21[SPEAKER_03]: It's like, who, who would you match make for a job like this?
- 34:25[SPEAKER_03]: Because that whole offense needs to get reinvent.
- 34:28[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, you're going to need to bring in a quarterback.
- 34:30[SPEAKER_03]: Uh, I don't think the pieces are bad.
- 34:32[SPEAKER_03]: but I think you probably have to go offence and this is not necessarily the year that you want to do that and probably the best offensive play caller with the experience is a guy that you already fired and Cliff Kingsbury.
- 34:46[SPEAKER_03]: So you're looking at Joe Brady, maybe you're looking at Kubiak.
- 34:53[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, is this a team that takes a swing on Grant Yedensky?
- 34:57[SPEAKER_03]: So I'm glad you brought that up.
- 34:59[SPEAKER_03]: There's Grant Yudinsky.
- 35:01[SPEAKER_03]: There's Daksim.
- 35:02[SPEAKER_00]: They're looking for like, you haven't wanted a while and you're looking for somebody to just completely energize and change the dynamic for you.
- 35:08[SPEAKER_00]: You're in a division that has like, where those sorts of chances have paid off with Kyle Shannon and San Francisco with Sean McVeay and L.A. and now with Mike McDonald and Seattle, like teams taking chances on younger coaches without,
- 35:25[SPEAKER_00]: had coaching experience um you know like and then you know like if you want to go back and look at it like I think Michael Bidwell's biggest regret was not hiring Sean McVeck right because they were high on him.
- 35:41[SPEAKER_00]: They were really, really high on him.
- 35:42[SPEAKER_00]: They were their ex-general managers Steve
- 35:47[SPEAKER_00]: So I'll put, there's this become the great Edinsky spot where a lot of people don't know that name, but that was Kevin O'Connell's right hand man in Minnesota and Kevin kept promoting him until somebody else gave me the opportunity to be a coordinator.
- 36:02[SPEAKER_03]: So I'll put in there if we're if we're going to shine a spotlight on kind of a young gun,
- 36:08[SPEAKER_03]: coordinators.
- 36:08[SPEAKER_03]: You would put Grant in that list.
- 36:10[SPEAKER_03]: You would put Davis web.
- 36:11[SPEAKER_03]: I think from Denver.
- 36:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 36:13[SPEAKER_03]: In that list, I think you would put Declan Doyle from Chicago in that list, although I think, you know, maybe some of these guys need an extra year.
- 36:21[SPEAKER_03]: And I don't think enough people are talking about Brad Eddzek.
- 36:24[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I think that Brad is 34.
- 36:26[SPEAKER_03]: Did a really good job of coming in to a veteran staff and has helped turn that thing over.
- 36:32[SPEAKER_03]: So,
- 36:32[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I think if your Arizona, this is the only way you go, Albert, because you're not going to fire Jonathan Ganon to get a hot young defensive coach, right?
- 36:41[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's kind of a good thing.
- 36:43[SPEAKER_00]: I'm thinking like, sure, my mate, but sure is like, in a lot of ways is what Ganon was.
- 36:48[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 36:49[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 36:49[SPEAKER_00]: That's hard, you know?
- 36:51[SPEAKER_00]: So I would say like like to me like the the idea of grant you didn't ski there actually makes some sense if you're thinking about it, you know?
- 37:00[SPEAKER_03]: So let's put let's put those guys there and again this is just for just planar, which happens to put.
- 37:08[SPEAKER_03]: Football season is in full swing, and underdog is the best place to get in on all the action.
- 37:14[SPEAKER_03]: Playing on underdog is easy.
- 37:15[SPEAKER_03]: Just pick whether your favorite players will go higher or lower on stats like rushing arts, receptions, touchdowns, and more.
- 37:22[SPEAKER_03]: Get your picks right, and you can win up to 5,000 times your cash.
- 37:28[SPEAKER_03]: This week on underdog, I'm looking at Caleb Williams and the revenge game against the Green Bay Packers, a huge divisional matchup,
- 37:37[SPEAKER_03]: Then two touchdowns, he's got to avenge that game and that missed touchdown, the interception of the end zone that ended at last time.
- 37:45[SPEAKER_03]: Download the app today and use promo code MMQB to score $75 in bonus entries when you play your first $5.
- 37:54[SPEAKER_03]: That's promo code MMQB.
- 37:57[SPEAKER_03]: Underdog.

- 38:32[SPEAKER_03]: The Raiders of Next, chances of this turning over Albert, I think, are getting high.
- 38:44[SPEAKER_00]: It sounds to me like people that are think they're getting fired right now.
- 38:48[SPEAKER_00]: I sometimes have mean something sometimes it doesn't you know what I mean like but people there there are there are people on the coaching staff that that believe that's the way the wind's blowing.
- 38:59[SPEAKER_00]: whether or not like that winds up being what happens, we will see.
- 39:04[SPEAKER_00]: But I also know there are some voices in that room and Tom Brady isn't the only one.
- 39:10[SPEAKER_00]: There are some voices in that room that weren't in there previously.
- 39:13[SPEAKER_00]: And there's some big money people.
- 39:14[SPEAKER_00]: Again, your Michael Melvin's, your
- 39:17[SPEAKER_00]: you can Germans and all people don't like those names don't resonate with people these are big money people who came in and invested in the team and so like I think the whole idea of bringing MP Carol and paying six million dollars for Chip Kelly was we're going to change the face of the Raiders and we can't be perceived this way anymore and
- 39:35[SPEAKER_00]: Like I think they probably look at this now and say like this didn't work, you know.
- 39:39[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, if they had their idea way, this is going to be peak-carell chip Kelly in Robert's Sol and that there's going to be a big money staff and, you know, there was going to be a clear successful plan.
- 39:50[SPEAKER_00]: But do you circle back to Sol and now?
- 39:53[SPEAKER_03]: I think you circle back to Sala.
- 39:56[SPEAKER_03]: I think that he would bring, he would come in and he'd bring juice right away.
- 40:00[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 40:01[SPEAKER_00]: Because like one thing you can look at here is the experience, the general manager, that's John Spidec, who was in Tampa with Todd Bowles.
- 40:08[SPEAKER_00]: And so he's seen it work with a defensive head coach.
- 40:13[SPEAKER_00]: you know, again, like I think solid previous experience helps him.
- 40:17[SPEAKER_00]: I think he would bring some energy some juice to the building.
- 40:21[SPEAKER_00]: He just needs to have an office of plan, but his, you know, his connections again are in that Shannon tree for the same reason, like it works for Hathley, because Hathley worked for Kyle Shannon and Matt LaFlor, almost all of Robert's saw is background is working with
- 40:41[SPEAKER_00]: including Kyle Shannon himself, you know, but I think
- 40:47[SPEAKER_00]: I would say, I would say solid would be a common sense hire for them who's still young ish in the way I'm young ish.
- 40:56[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's older than me actually.
- 40:57[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, can we see that in this show, right?
- 40:59[SPEAKER_00]: Sure.
- 41:00[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 41:00[SPEAKER_00]: I think Robert's actually had a couple months older than me.
- 41:02[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, I think he would make some sense just as far as a guy who can be a culture center, which I think is what they were going for with P. Carol, it just hasn't worked.
- 41:12[SPEAKER_03]: I agree.
- 41:14[SPEAKER_00]: I do wonder though, does the run they made a Ben Johnson is a failed run they made a Ben Johnson does that affect them In what way
- 41:26[SPEAKER_00]: Well, just they had to work to get him in for an interview.
- 41:30[SPEAKER_00]: Like, he wasn't going to interview with them at first and it took to a braided, making a phone call, right?
- 41:35[SPEAKER_00]: Like, for them to even get him into the room and to interview.
- 41:39[SPEAKER_00]: And so they made a very real runner-up.
- 41:40[SPEAKER_00]: Do you think their failed run at Ben Johnson?
- 41:44[SPEAKER_00]: And now seeing what Ben is doing in Chicago affects them in some way.
- 41:49[SPEAKER_03]: Possibly.
- 41:50[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I think that
- 41:54[SPEAKER_03]: the perception of this job is always going to be such.
- 41:56[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know if Brady, this is going to have to be a lot of Brady cleaning this up behind the scenes too Albert.
- 42:02[SPEAKER_03]: I think, if I'm ahead coach, I want to know, I guess he's for real wearing the headset when I go in there.
- 42:08[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, is this actually happening?
- 42:10[SPEAKER_03]: And is he going to be in my offensive coordinator's office?
- 42:13[SPEAKER_03]: Because I don't want that shit.
- 42:15[SPEAKER_03]: I don't want that.
- 42:16[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, really.
- 42:16[SPEAKER_03]: If it was helping, it would have been helping.
- 42:23[SPEAKER_03]: All that comes into play, perhaps someone like Cliff, but I think Cliff's gonna be highly selective for his next job, and I don't think he's gonna go to the Raiders.
- 42:33[SPEAKER_03]: I really don't.
- 42:34[SPEAKER_03]: I think he's got a great spot with a great quarterback.
- 42:37[SPEAKER_03]: Now, why would you leave him?
- 42:38[SPEAKER_00]: I think Cliff, Tennessee seems like it might be a match for a cliff too.
- 42:42[SPEAKER_00]: That was one, God now we're going back, but like, Tennessee could be a match for a cliff.
- 42:49[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 42:50[SPEAKER_03]: Good area.
- 42:52[SPEAKER_03]: good market, um, you know, I think all that stuff makes sense.
- 42:56[SPEAKER_03]: Um, but yeah, the Raiders candidate pulls a little bit tougher, Albert.
- 42:59[SPEAKER_03]: It's just a little bit tougher to put together.
- 43:01[SPEAKER_03]: Like Kelvin Shepherd is like a dark horse name there, right?
- 43:04[SPEAKER_03]: Where, you know, could you just bring somebody in that's just got straight juice and Max Crosby is going to be in your corner.
- 43:11[SPEAKER_03]: and and and you look at them and you see like okay let's go I'll tell you who I really like is and we haven't talked about them with the uh with the young names but Clayton Adams with Dallas like you know you want to guy who's going to be able to at least like install a running game for Ash and Jenny and get that going uh I mean yeah that make everywhere he's gone they've had an ace is run game but this is uh this is a tough one I mean I don't know any other names for this one you think or now
- 43:38[SPEAKER_00]: See, I'm probably like in 15 minutes gonna come back with one the way I just did.
- 43:41[SPEAKER_03]: Let's do it.
- 43:42[SPEAKER_03]: That's fine, that's fine.
- 43:43[SPEAKER_00]: Let's, let's, let's, let's, you know what, here's another one.
- 43:47[SPEAKER_00]: If we're, look, take talking about the Ben Johnson route.
- 43:51[SPEAKER_00]: This Clint Kubiac makes him sense.
- 43:54[SPEAKER_03]: Clint Kubiac would make some sense.
- 43:55[SPEAKER_03]: I think he's got to go in there and you got to slam dunk the interview.
- 44:00[SPEAKER_03]: If you're him.
- 44:01[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 44:03[SPEAKER_00]: And like for people who don't know, like I think Clint is,
- 44:06[SPEAKER_00]: Cleans very self-aware.
- 44:08[SPEAKER_00]: He's very intelligent.
- 44:09[SPEAKER_00]: He's a lot like his dad, you know?
- 44:12[SPEAKER_00]: But if you had ever been around Gary Kubiak, you know, like Gary's one of the best people I've covered in 20 years doing this, he, like Gary does not carry himself like a football coach.
- 44:25[SPEAKER_00]: He's very level, very calm, very understanding.
- 44:29[SPEAKER_00]: And that's the way Clint is, you know, so he just have to be comfortable with that.
- 44:33[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and I would say this too, right?
- 44:35[SPEAKER_00]: He's a incredibly intelligent and he can reach players and he's and I would say this like he's self-aware like a big part of the success in Seattle was like him looking back at all of the things that went wrong for him at New Orleans.
- 44:48[SPEAKER_03]: Um, well, I think a lot in a lot of the two is injuries, but I'll say this, um, which I'm gonna call it, um, I think what I've heard from Cliff is, yeah, he's just like a little understated, um, and that's not a bad thing people were saying the same thing about Mike McDonald and, um,
- 45:02[SPEAKER_03]: And I'll say this on game day everyone said he's an absolute animal and so when he hits the field He's an absolute animal.
- 45:09[SPEAKER_03]: So go get it, you know, I like that one.
- 45:12[SPEAKER_03]: Um, all right Browns I think the chances of this turning over it really depends.
- 45:20[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I think that there's a smart conversation to be had here with your Cleveland Like in a special if you're hazelnut
- 45:27[SPEAKER_03]: You've put all this heft into these plans, right?
- 45:31[SPEAKER_03]: It's like the Paul D. Padessta plan, the Andrew Barry plan, the John Dorsey plan, and like we're going to get equity and we're going to draft and we're going to blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 45:42[SPEAKER_03]: The only thing that you've done right is hire a two-time coach of the year in Kevin Stephanski, who's made it all work.
- 45:48[SPEAKER_03]: And I don't give a shit about talent.
- 45:50[SPEAKER_03]: And it's like, well, Harold Fanon and, and, and, and, and Quintchon Junkins and like, look at all this stuff.
- 45:56[SPEAKER_03]: There's no straight arc in football.
- 46:00[SPEAKER_03]: There's just no, like, these guys, there's no, there's no guarantee that any of these guys look at Brian Thomas are going to be better next year than they are right now.
- 46:07[SPEAKER_03]: The quarterback situation is a mess.
- 46:09[SPEAKER_03]: And if I'm cleaving like I'm looking around and being like Kevin Savansky's the one thing we did right and if we let him go, he's going to get a job somewhere else and he comes candid at one on the market he screams giants to me I know me to
- 46:26[SPEAKER_00]: you just scream this giants to me like if you were if you were if you were to get that off yeah right like i mean like i i just like look at it like and i think you do absolutely look at it through this one so here's my question though okay because i i've turned a little bit on this i thought no way for the longest time and you know a lot of the people in Cleveland have picked up on some of the things that i've said over the course of the last few weeks and that's valid
- 46:51[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think Jimmy has him knows what he's going to do right now, right?
- 46:55[SPEAKER_00]: Like I genuinely think like he's still mowing all of this over.
- 46:59[SPEAKER_00]: I think he loves to set up that he has now.
- 47:02[SPEAKER_00]: I think they tried forever to get it right with, and they feel like they've got two really good people in charge in Andrew Perry and Kevin Safansky.
- 47:11[SPEAKER_00]: You pulled deep it up to out of it now, where does that mean does it change Andrew Barry's role?
- 47:17[SPEAKER_00]: You know, we'll see.
- 47:18[SPEAKER_00]: And then on Safanski specifically.
- 47:23[SPEAKER_00]: That team looked dead in Chicago and he's been through a lot there.
- 47:30[SPEAKER_00]: And so I do think like it's fair to start to ask the question whether or not it's front, of course, there are other words, like the last two years have not been good.
- 47:40[SPEAKER_00]: And as Kevin's defense key in the be capable of getting the spark out of the team that he needs when they're going into 2026, can you reinvent what they are?
- 47:47[SPEAKER_00]: And what they have been the last two years hasn't been very good.
- 47:50[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 47:52[SPEAKER_00]: They're going to continue.
- 47:53[SPEAKER_00]: They're going to be there.
- 47:54[SPEAKER_00]: They're going to be younger next year than they are this year.
- 47:58[SPEAKER_00]: With the two first round picks, you know, those guys, the second year guys can be critical year of development for them for Harold Fanon, like he said, Mason Graham, Carson, Swassinger, Quinn-Chon, Juddkins, you know, they've got like the they they're they're
- 48:21[SPEAKER_00]: building the the building the young pieces on the roster up, reinvent the core and find a quarter back.
- 48:27[SPEAKER_00]: Can you do that with Kevin right now?
- 48:28[SPEAKER_03]: I think it's been a Brown's Docket List for 20.
- 48:32[SPEAKER_00]: I know, I know, but it's just like I do, I'm this is a 50 50 right now.
- 48:39[SPEAKER_03]: I agree.
- 48:39[SPEAKER_03]: I was going to say chances of turning over about 50% and then at this point, like it's almost like I'm not even ready for a candidate list because I think if you do, I will say this.
- 48:54[SPEAKER_00]: I think if you do, make a change.
- 48:57[SPEAKER_00]: Like if I'm Cleveland, I'm going and trying to find my version of Dan Campbell.
- 49:02[SPEAKER_00]: Like I think they need that.
- 49:03[SPEAKER_00]: That's what they need.
- 49:05[SPEAKER_03]: You know, the former player can knock at the enough is enough like we're not going to be this we're not going to be a joke anymore coach and that so that former player pool gets you like Antonio Pierce it gets you Kelvin shepherd it gets you Anthony weaver.
- 49:34[SPEAKER_03]: Anthony for Jeff old brick.
- 49:36[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 49:37[SPEAKER_00]: Um, so I don't know if there's one that just sticks out and that category is the problem.
- 49:41[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 49:42[SPEAKER_03]: There's nothing that necessarily, um, that screams Browns to me right now.
- 49:46[SPEAKER_03]: But you had great one in your building last year, too, which is kind of the crazy thing about it.
- 49:50[SPEAKER_03]: I don't go.
- 49:51[SPEAKER_03]: God, anybody could have had him.
- 49:53[SPEAKER_03]: Anybody could have had him.
- 49:54[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and then they all sat around and they're like, what are the titans know that we don't nothing clearly?
- 50:00[SPEAKER_03]: So the Falcons are next on the list.
- 50:03[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I think this is a foregone conclusion Albert.
- 50:06[SPEAKER_03]: I think I gave you a very hard turn over
- 50:09[SPEAKER_00]: the comeback the last week gave me gave me a little pause, but it does feel like that's the way this is going again.
- 50:14[SPEAKER_00]: Like I, from what I understand, like, the link has, the, as I has resolved at the end of the year to kind of gather all the information and make a decision.
- 50:24[SPEAKER_00]: But I know a lot of people are expecting both spots here to be open.
- 50:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 50:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 50:30[SPEAKER_00]: So, and I, you don't, I'll give you a name here that I think,
- 50:33[SPEAKER_00]: So I'll give you a name for GM.
- 50:34[SPEAKER_00]: I'll give you a name for a coach at that words.
- 50:38[SPEAKER_03]: Let's do that.
- 50:39[SPEAKER_00]: Joe Brady interviewed really well there in 0.11.
- 50:43[SPEAKER_00]: And like, I just think like that, they've, they haven't gotten quarterback right.
- 50:51[SPEAKER_00]: Joe Brady's worked with the best player in the league the last couple of years.
- 50:56[SPEAKER_00]: He's had a chance to kind of see things go wrong, see things go right.
- 51:00[SPEAKER_00]: He came up in a very stringent system, right?
- 51:04[SPEAKER_00]: John Payne.
- 51:04[SPEAKER_00]: John Payne.
- 51:05[SPEAKER_00]: John Payne.
- 51:06[SPEAKER_00]: And then he had to learn to like kind of relax that system to accommodate a once-in-a-lifetime town buffalo, right?
- 51:13[SPEAKER_00]: So I think you have a guy who's worked with different types of quarterbacks, spin around Drew Breeze, spin around Josh Allen, different ends of the spectrum both obviously Hall of Fame players.
- 51:22[SPEAKER_00]: And
- 51:23[SPEAKER_00]: Like, so he is one that I look at it like knowledge of the division, um, you know, knowledge of the franchise haven't competed against them having, you know, the quarterback expertise to maybe try to get the most out of Michael Panics and then on the GM side.
- 51:43[SPEAKER_00]: Potentially pairing him with James Lipford and Houston, who's the assistant GM there, who is from Georgia, originally, who's helped Nick Casserio build that team up.
- 51:54[SPEAKER_00]: I think would be interesting.
- 51:55[SPEAKER_00]: You have two young guys who kind of bring some energy there.
- 51:59[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, man, like I, again, like I hate that Raheem is, I feel like part of the problem like for Raheem Morris is that he was kind of walking into something that wasn't a start-up.
- 52:10[SPEAKER_00]: It was like, okay, like here to put us over the top.
- 52:13[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, it sucks because I don't know that he deserves what's going to be his fate here.
- 52:19[SPEAKER_00]: But it kind of feels like, yeah, you know, like you said, like, that's the way this one's trying to.
- 52:24[SPEAKER_03]: Raheem will always go down as a consummate good individual who treats his coach as well, like, you know, when this thing went haywire, started to go haywire, he wasn't firing everybody, wasn't throwing people under the bus, you know, and I think that
- 52:43[SPEAKER_03]: he came in bringing that acumen as a defensive coach and it took the old brick hired to really turn around.
- 52:49[SPEAKER_03]: That defense and and I think you know some of the position coaches that he brought over on that side of the ball too to the corner where everything is really undermined him.
- 52:59[SPEAKER_03]: And the quarterback thing hurts, right?
- 53:01[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, it's who bounced them into the booth, out of the booth, and and Panics just doesn't look.
- 53:06[SPEAKER_03]: And again, a lot of this is like it goes back to just a plan that never made any sense from a general manager who I think had everybody believing that this was a good idea.
- 53:15[SPEAKER_03]: And like the foundation of this roster just doesn't exist.
- 53:18[SPEAKER_03]: Like we have a you inherited good offensive line that's going to eventually age out, right?
- 53:24[SPEAKER_03]: And that's right.
- 53:25[SPEAKER_03]: So I mean, that's one strong line kind of be around forever.
- 53:28[SPEAKER_03]: Right.
- 53:29[SPEAKER_03]: And so you didn't maximize that and you put nothing into the defensive side of the ballboard only now just seeing what Kyle pits is capable of which is like, you know, which is a little bit right you strike on and over Garrett Wells and yeah, and so I think that those are.
- 53:46[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, again, this is a GM that I think really got two headcoaches fired, right?
- 53:52[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, and, and that's unfortunate, but I think it's a new day in the Atlanta and you come with your own guy, and I mean, I don't think it'll be Bella checks, so that'll be exciting for whoever.
- 54:04[SPEAKER_03]: Friends of getting that job.
- 54:06[SPEAKER_03]: We have four more Albert here that I just want to buzz through really quickly.
- 54:09[SPEAKER_03]: The dolphins we can go fast because I I still so my day I can survive.
- 54:15[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I think McDonald can survive this and he's got Quinn you are going this weekend.
- 54:20[SPEAKER_03]: That's a seventh round pick that they have you noted.
- 54:22[SPEAKER_03]: I think in your mail bag.
- 54:25[SPEAKER_03]: This is once the number one recruit in the nation.
- 54:27[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, this kid has talent.
- 54:28[SPEAKER_03]: It's just sometimes it goes in different way.
- 54:30[SPEAKER_03]: It turns left to right.
- 54:31[SPEAKER_03]: But it's weird.
- 54:32[SPEAKER_03]: I'm excited to watch him.
- 54:33[SPEAKER_00]: I'm excited.
- 54:34[SPEAKER_00]: I'm excited to see what he's capable of.
- 54:36[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think it's going to be too big for him.
- 54:38[SPEAKER_00]: Like this is a guy who played at.
- 54:40[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, the bluest of the blue blood high school programs for people don't know.
- 54:45[SPEAKER_00]: He played for South like Carol and Dallas, which is like.
- 54:47[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, playing in front of 15,000 people when he started as like a freshman there, so like 15 years old, he's playing in front of 15,000 people.
- 54:58[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
- 54:58[SPEAKER_00]: Like, this is a kid who's probably not going to shrink to the moment.
- 55:02[SPEAKER_00]: Played at the University of Texas was at Ohio State.
- 55:05[SPEAKER_00]: I did like his comment today.
- 55:16[SPEAKER_00]: Which uh, yeah, neither of those ones wound up working out for us, but both of them kind of have a couple of slides since.
- 55:24[SPEAKER_00]: But I, you know what, like honestly, like I, I think, so I think here's what you want to look at with Miami.
- 55:30[SPEAKER_00]: Is.
- 55:32[SPEAKER_00]: So you have an owner and Steven Ross who I think had heard a lot of people say a lot of people like you and I say like Mike me Daniel might be an incredible second chance higher for somebody and it kind of I think it kind of forced him to think like wait a minute like can it just be us yeah I think that just happened here and his son-in-law is going to be more involved a guy named Dan Selman
- 55:53[SPEAKER_00]: And they've elevated Brennan shore into a point where I think Brennan shore is going to be kind of like like make Mike Disney isn't in Detroit where you may have like a three headed monster there with the new GM.
- 56:05[SPEAKER_00]: brand-in-shore in the head coach.
- 56:07[SPEAKER_00]: And so I think like you create this new structure, you bring back Mike McDonald for a year.
- 56:12[SPEAKER_00]: Mike McDonald is under evaluation in 2026.
- 56:15[SPEAKER_00]: To, I think, can essentially become your bridge quarterback, right?
- 56:21[SPEAKER_00]: Because you have guaranteed 54 million next year.
- 56:24[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe you can buy a draft pick.
- 56:26[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe you can spend some money and buy a draft pick and get them off the roster.
- 56:30[SPEAKER_00]: Or you could just look at that as a sunk cost and say, OK, to and now you're our bridge.
- 56:34[SPEAKER_03]: You know what I mean like not even like don't have them around don't have them around Just just rest a Wilson of if you're if you're like you could you could you could I'm all for you know what though.
- 56:46[SPEAKER_00]: I'm all for Like based on where they're probably gonna be picking What you don't want to be as you don't want to be in a situation where you're forced to take a quarterback No, but I think what you want to have flexibility not to take one if you don't believe in who's there and based on what I'm hearing about this year's quarterbacks like
- 57:02[SPEAKER_00]: You may be better off waiting in extra year anyway, especially if, I mean, I think Mandosa is probably trying to be the number one pick now because the dolphins aren't going to be, aren't going to have the number one pick.
- 57:14[SPEAKER_03]: You know, I would say this just, you know, I mean, I need to print a Mandosa.
- 57:21[SPEAKER_03]: I just, I don't think that if you're Mike McDaniel, like I wouldn't take that.
- 57:27[SPEAKER_03]: Like I'd be like, okay, I'll go interview for the Browns job.
- 57:29[SPEAKER_03]: I'll go interview for the Giants job and I'll get it.
- 57:32[SPEAKER_03]: Because there are no good offensive play colors on the market and I'd rather work with anybody else than this guy.
- 57:36[SPEAKER_03]: Like, I mean, I think that's just the long and short of it.
- 57:40[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, he's back to a, and defended him relentlessly for four years.
- 57:44[SPEAKER_00]: and they're three years and all two of did was stand up and say oh well nobody's showing up to the players only meetings and making Mike look bad well i just part of any and he also like they started to play better when they de-emphasize his role in the offense hundred percent so just get get him a point guard just get him a point guard which like you could have had to me is going to be like what's so interesting about watching when you were a spy and if it can't be a comment this suddenly looks like
- 58:11[SPEAKER_00]: like a little bit like you have like some more big plays in the often that sort of thing with yours and they're like holy crap does that not reflect well in the good when yours in jacoby per set right yeah when yours in Kirk cousins
- 58:25[SPEAKER_03]: Right.
- 58:26[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, just, you know, it's better than that.
- 58:29[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know, but anyway, I don't think this is even at the 50% threshold right now where yeah for of my going.
- 58:35[SPEAKER_03]: I think he's liked it.
- 58:36[SPEAKER_03]: Well, in ownership and I think the quintuers thing will revisit it after that.
- 58:42[SPEAKER_03]: These last three Albert, I think we have the buck and ears, the bangles and the jets, and I think we can lump them all together because a lot of it depends on two things.
- 58:50[SPEAKER_03]: You got to be able to finish, okay?
- 58:53[SPEAKER_03]: And you have to be able to, and it's going to have to turn into a disaster scenario.
- 59:00[SPEAKER_03]: I think in all three of these cases.
- 59:01[SPEAKER_03]: I think the bangles, I checked in on this recently, everyone that I talked to said that it would be the quote I got was out of character.
- 59:09[SPEAKER_03]: on fire on the bingles on the bingles on the bingles on bingles on bingles on bingles on bingles like on bingles like yes um Zach I only thought and this is a good job by Paul Dana I thought his contract ended in 2026 Paul reported the athletic it was 2027 it was two years lofty I just don't think there's any way Mike Brown fires a coach of two years left on his deal the only way that I see this happening Albert and here's the only reason so I wrote something about this the other day and you can find it on s.com
- 59:36[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, is that Joe Brady's probably gonna get a job this off season.
- 59:41[SPEAKER_03]: Joe Brady was Joe Burrow's coordinator at LSU.
- 59:43[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, and so if if if the source of all of Joe Burrow's unhappiness is related to Zack Taylor in some way, which I don't have any indication that it is.
- 59:54[SPEAKER_03]: Zack Taylor lets him run the offense.
- 59:56[SPEAKER_03]: So it's a pretty sweet deal if you're Joe Burrow, right?
- 59:58[SPEAKER_03]: He's essentially the offensive coordinator.
- 1:00:00[SPEAKER_03]: But if it's related to Zack Taylor, and you were not gonna get, and I don't think it is.
- 1:00:05[SPEAKER_03]: But if you're worried you're going to lose Joe Brady, then okay, then you go get Joe Brady.
- 1:00:11[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think that's the case.
- 1:00:12[SPEAKER_03]: The other name that's out there that probably won't be there, but has Bengals ties and Mike Brown is familiar with his fans Joseph, right?
- 1:00:19[SPEAKER_03]: So again, I think Vance probably gets one too and we haven't brought him up yet, but I think he fits in all these places.
- 1:00:25[SPEAKER_03]: He's going to interview everywhere.
- 1:00:27[SPEAKER_03]: And so that's my only thing with the Bengals is if you're worried that you're going to lose out on those two guys you make a move I don't think that that's going to happen.
- 1:00:36[SPEAKER_00]: So but so if it does I'll say this that becomes the number one job of the market Yeah, I know Barrow and you got Higgins and now if you can fix the defense holy crap or you cook them with gas So Tampa
- 1:00:52[SPEAKER_00]: It's fascinating to me because we've been here before every year, in early December, I hear the it's Bolsa, all right, it's going to go, yeah.
- 1:01:06[SPEAKER_00]: Is he all right?
- 1:01:07[SPEAKER_00]: All that green year, they've dug themselves from the fire and I'll pull it up.
- 1:01:12[SPEAKER_00]: It's actually really interesting because I had, I think I had it my takeaways on Monday and my Monday morning quarterback column.
- 1:01:19[SPEAKER_00]: Give me a second here, like, but the polling that's polling this season from the fire thing has, like, quieted all those conversations over the last few years.
- 1:01:30[SPEAKER_00]: So, and give me one second.
- 1:01:33[SPEAKER_00]: Where is it?
- 1:01:38[SPEAKER_00]: So, all right, last year, so last year they were
- 1:01:47[SPEAKER_00]: and they dug out of it to get to 10 and 7.
- 1:01:48[SPEAKER_00]: The year before they were 4 and 7, and they dug out of it to get 9 and 8, winning their division in both those years, they were 8 and 9 the year before, and that's, they won the division with that year too.
- 1:01:59[SPEAKER_00]: So they've won three division titles in a row.
- 1:02:01[SPEAKER_00]: They've got a shot to do the same thing now, but these games against the Panthers are going to be critical, because I do think that that's the one thing where if you look at it, if you're Tampa, you look at your core players, you say Dave can now let's turn this around that quick.
- 1:02:13[SPEAKER_00]: And he doesn't even have that greater roster, and they beat us out for the division, how did that happen?
- 1:02:19[SPEAKER_00]: You know, but as it stands right now, I mean, the Panthers really blew gold, not opportunity last week, losing to the Saints, you know?
- 1:02:27[SPEAKER_00]: So like right now, I thought those teams at 500, they play two of the last three weeks, like it's going to be really interesting.
- 1:02:34[SPEAKER_03]: So, yeah, I mean, if I had to rank these, I would say, in order of possibility opening, I would probably say bucks, jets, bangles, but, I mean, I don't think any of these are gonna open.
- 1:02:49[SPEAKER_03]: And it's all predicated on how these teams finish.
- 1:02:53[SPEAKER_00]: You know?
- 1:02:54[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, jets, I would hang that on like,
- 1:02:59[SPEAKER_00]: her key jerky ownership, you know, like, and I say that because like, that's the one thing.
- 1:03:06[SPEAKER_00]: I do think they've made progress in the back end of the year.
- 1:03:09[SPEAKER_00]: Like, they don't have a quarterback like that much is clear.
- 1:03:12[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think they've stopped playing for Aaron Glenn.
- 1:03:14[SPEAKER_00]: I think what you've gotten from Aaron Glenn and Darren Mogee is a repudiation of what was built there previously, right?
- 1:03:21[SPEAKER_00]: Like, and what they've done with some of the guys in the roster that they inherited.
- 1:03:24[SPEAKER_00]: And basically, they're telling us
- 1:03:28[SPEAKER_00]: right, they trade quantum Williams, they trade sauce, gardener, you know, we'll see what they do as far as the contracts for some of these other guys.
- 1:03:37[SPEAKER_00]: I just know this.
- 1:03:38[SPEAKER_00]: I know there are a lot of people who think Aaron alone is going to be a really good head coach.
- 1:03:44[SPEAKER_00]: And I personally think you have to give them a second year.
- 1:03:51[SPEAKER_00]: You have to get me a second here.
- 1:03:52[SPEAKER_03]: I think this I think it goes back to a multi a bone at this way.
- 1:03:56[SPEAKER_03]: It's it's New York.
- 1:03:58[SPEAKER_03]: It's the Joe judge principle.
- 1:04:00[SPEAKER_03]: If you can finish the year.
- 1:04:02[SPEAKER_03]: Not embarrassing yourself or the organization you're probably fine.
- 1:04:09[SPEAKER_03]: If you finish the year embarrassing yourself or your organization, you're probably not fine.
- 1:04:14[SPEAKER_03]: I think Aaron Glenn's going to be okay.
- 1:04:18[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not quite as old as the people that you've talked to about it, I'm kind of lukewarm.
- 1:04:24[SPEAKER_03]: But I'll say this, he's kind of already had a list of greatest hits this year.
- 1:04:28[SPEAKER_03]: If you were to run them all together that spell a coach who just doesn't look ready for the job.
- 1:04:34[SPEAKER_03]: But you know, a lot of people made fun of Dan Campbell for his opening press conference.
- 1:04:38[SPEAKER_03]: A lot of people made fun of Dan for that first whole year, right?
- 1:04:41[SPEAKER_03]: Like we're not fighting kneecaps.
- 1:04:43[SPEAKER_03]: Now again, I'm out there as saying that like, I think this just roster was better than anything that Campbell inherited and I think they should have been a little bit more ahead of the
- 1:04:53[SPEAKER_00]: Um, we can argue semantics as much as you want, you know, but that that that lines team that first lines team started the season O ten and one and finish three and three.
- 1:05:05[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:05:06[SPEAKER_00]: This jazz team started all in seven.
- 1:05:08[SPEAKER_00]: There's three and four sets.
- 1:05:09[SPEAKER_00]: So right.
- 1:05:11[SPEAKER_00]: It's again, it's not, it's not good enough and it certainly hasn't looked great the last couple of weeks, you know, but they got an opportunity this week to go in to go into New Orleans and that should be a winnable game for them and if they can go into New Orleans at when then they've got a great opportunity to play spoiler against the patriots and bills the last two weeks of the season, one of those two spots.
- 1:05:38[SPEAKER_03]: I, uh, it's gonna be interesting when I work.
- 1:05:41[SPEAKER_03]: I'll tell you that.
- 1:05:43[SPEAKER_03]: Um, and we'll be covering it from every which way every angle be sure to come back.
- 1:05:49[SPEAKER_03]: Uh, so here's my, uh, here's one thing that I can predict.
- 1:05:53[SPEAKER_03]: We're gonna do the Monday show.
- 1:05:55[SPEAKER_03]: after Sunday.
- 1:05:57[SPEAKER_03]: And then we have to do a little unpredictable after that.
- 1:06:00[SPEAKER_03]: And then I think we're all going to enjoy our Christmas, which I, which I, even if you don't celebrate, if you're Hanukkah already, happy Hanukkah.
- 1:06:09[SPEAKER_03]: I think I said that I'm, uh,
- 1:06:10[SPEAKER_03]: Monday, I hope I said that on Monday.
- 1:06:13[SPEAKER_03]: Um, but if you're hot at car ready, happy Hanukkah enjoy the rest of that if you're Kwanza Kwanza's coming up enjoy enjoy enjoy Kwanza, but that whole time just just spend some time with your family will be back the Monday after Christmas and Plenty time to talk football.
- 1:06:27[SPEAKER_00]: So actually like to talk to everybody who has similar hairs to me
- 1:06:32[SPEAKER_00]: Mary Christmas Eve also, because in my mom's, for people who don't know, in first generation, my mom is, on my mom's side, my mom is Austrian, off the boat, she didn't take a boat here or shop the plane, but in Austria, Christmas Eve is actually a bigger deal in Christmas day, so Mary Christmas Eve also.
- 1:06:52[SPEAKER_03]: There it is.
- 1:06:53[SPEAKER_03]: All right.
- 1:06:54[SPEAKER_03]: You guys heard it here first.
- 1:06:56[SPEAKER_03]: Thanks as always for listening for being a part of the show and we'll see you We'll see you
