  obey him more. Let's hear today's play

  from Acts 15, which says, "Some men came

  down from Judah to Antioch and began

  teaching the brothers, you can't be

  saved unless you undergo circumcision in

  the manner prescribed by Moses." So why

  are you putting God to the test now by
• 0:30
  placing a yoke on the neck of the
• 0:32
  disciples which neither our fathers nor
• 0:35
  we have had the strength to bear? No,
• 0:38
  it's through the love of kindness of the
• 0:40
  Lord Jesus that we trust and are
• 0:42
  delivered. And it's the same with them.

  In Acts 15, we read about the
• 0:47
  controversy in the early church. Some
• 0:50
  men were telling the new believers, "You
• 0:52
  can't be saved unless you undergo
• 0:53
  circumcision like the law of Moses
• 0:55
  requires." And Peter responded by asking
• 0:57
  them why put God to the test. Salvation
• 1:00
  comes through the love and kindness of
• 1:02
  Jesus alone. Think about that. Even
• 1:05
  after walking with Jesus for years, the
• 1:08
  Jewish believers struggle to accept that
• 1:10
  Gentiles could belong to God's family
• 1:13
  without first adopting all the customs
• 1:15
  of Israel. And isn't that a temptation
• 1:18
  for us as well? We want to earn God's
• 1:21
  love through our work, our giving, our
• 1:23
  obedience. But God says, "No, you are
• 1:26
  loved. You are accepted. You are
• 1:28
  forgiven. All because of what Jesus has
• 1:31
  done for you." Obedience is still
• 1:33
  important, but it's not the way to earn
• 1:36
  God favor. It's the fruit of a heart
• 1:38
  transformed by his grace. The gospel is
• 1:42
  simple. Repent, believe, trust in Jesus,
• 1:45
  and live in his freedom. When we try to
• 1:48
  add requirements, rules, or rituals
• 1:50
  beyond faith, we distort the gospel and
• 1:53
  undermine God's kindness. Run today's
• 1:57
  play. Reflect. Are you trusting God's
• 1:59
  love? Are you still trying to earn it?

  Repent. Let go of any legalism we're
• 2:04
  striving to perform for God's favor.
• 2:07
  Act, rest in Jesus's sacrifice, and walk
• 2:11
  in obedience out of gratitude and not
• 2:13
  obligation. And share. encourage another
• 2:17
  man to trust in grace alone through
• 2:18
  faith alone. Teach that faith not works
• 2:21
  brings eternal life. Men, God calls us
• 2:24
  to receive his kindness, trust his
• 2:26
  grace, and live boldly in the freedom of
• 2:29
  his love. Let today be a day where you
• 2:31
  step fully into that freedom and let
• 2:34
  Christ's work define your life. If this
