- 0:00Hello and welcome back to the show. This is my first episode back from holidays and I'm sharing a few quick updates on an incredible collab that we're about to launch and some very important dates to mark in your diary. Let's get straight into this episode. This is me for Female Startup Club.
- 0:18Happy New Year, everyone. It's me, Dune, your host and hype girl. I'm just jumping on here to say hello and check in, see how everyone's going, see what's going on, give some updates, all the good stuff. It's been a while.
- 0:36I've had a few weeks off in Switzerland and it has done me the world of good. Taking breaks are just so good for the soul. I really hope you're able to do the same and spend some time with loved ones. I've got a few quick updates to share with you, especially to all of you who are in London, but I'm going to get to that in a second.
- 0:59First off is we've just finalized our very first merch collab slash collab in general with The Dairy. The Dairy is this super cool Aussie brand that partners with incredible artists from all over the world to put their art on phone cases and desk accessories.
- 1:17They've got collaborations with Aussie artists like Jasmine Dowling and American artists like Amber Vittoria and so many other talented people. I've had the pleasure of watching this business grow over the last 10 years because it's owned by one of my best and favorite friends, Cam Parker. So I'm so excited and I can't tell you how cool it looks. You'll really need to check it out yourself. Yeah.
- 1:42This is particularly special to me and I really hope you like it. It's not out just yet, but you can take a peek on my Instagram to get the vibes. And in about a week or two, it's going to be live via their website, thedairy.com.
- 1:59We've done a range of phone cases. We've done laptop sleeves. We've done these sticker things that kind of go on the front of your laptop. And then we've done these little fun things that you basically put on your laptop
- 2:15Computer charger and computer cables. So you kind of like brand them in a way. And I mean, I say branding, but these are like so fun. You know, you know, all the female startup club, like fuzzy, soft gradients and things that we do those. It's all very over the top.
- 2:32It's exactly our vibe and I can't wait. Yay. So that's merch. Now I need to tell you the updates on the book, Your Hype Girl, and a little soiree I'm hosting to celebrate the launch in London. So if you're London-based,
- 2:50Make a note of this date in your diary. It's Thursday, the 24th of February, and that is going to be the evening of the book launch party. We're doing it in partnership with Zoho Works, which is part of Zoho House, and it's just going to be a very chill, intimate evening with some good music, drinks, friends, good vibes, good energy, all that kind of stuff.
- 3:15So if you're in London, you're invited. I would love to meet you in person for our very first official meetup. There are going to be more details to follow via our newsletter where we will send out the registration details and all that admin-y kind of stuff. And if you haven't signed up already, you just go to femalestartupclub.com, pop your email in, you'll be on the list.
- 3:36The next date you need to mark in your diary, and please, please, please mark it in your diary, is the 28th of February. It's a Monday, and that, my friends, is the official book launch day. It also happens to be International Women's Day week, and I'm just so excited that it's falling on the same week. I can't believe it. I actually didn't realize until like two minutes ago when I was looking at the calendar, and
- 4:03But I'm going to need all the help I can get from you, our female startup club community. My goal in launch week is to hit an Amazon bestseller. And to do that, I need to rally the troops to help me get there. And of course, you are my troops.
- 4:21We're going to do a launch week promotion from the Monday to Friday that makes it super easy and super affordable for anyone to buy the paperback or Kindle version. And my ask is that you just support in any way that you can during launch week, whether that is buying the Kindle or buying the paperback and leaving us an amazing review.
- 4:40Or whether that's just spreading the love about it on social media, whether it's liking a post on Instagram where we're talking about it, or even just telling a friend who might like it. These are the kinds of things that will help other female founders, entrepreneurs, and future entrepreneurs know or learn about the book.
- 4:58And if you haven't heard anything about the book yet and you're thinking, what the heck is she even on about? The book is a jam-packed resource of inspiration, tactical learnings, and absolute gold for people who have a business, for people who want to start a business, or are just interested in hearing the incredible stories of the women behind the brands we buy and use and love.
- 5:24There are 51 women included in the book, which is absolutely massive, major learning for me. And this is just the first of many that we have in the works. Yay, I'm so excited. So that's the merch, that's the launch party, and that's the launch date for the book. I also just want to take a minute to wish a huge congratulations to one of our Hype Club members, Larissa, on the launch of her new startup, Henry. Henry.
- 5:52She got sick of trying to find the perfect pillow and decided to make her own. And why it's really cool is that you actually fill it yourself. So I don't know if you have this problem, but for me, I like sleeping on a really flat pillow, like pancake flat pillow. I've done it my whole life. That's the vibe. So.
- 6:12But in the last six months or so, I started finding that it just wasn't enough support anymore. And in my sleep, I keep doubling my pillow over to like add a little bit more support under my neck. Like support, but without kinking my neck, if that makes sense. But when I've gone out and spent hundreds of dollars trying out the best pillows on the market, like Tempo and, you know, all those kind of brands, what I kept finding is that they're actually too high for my neck. So they're super, super comfy. But when I was sleeping on them,
- 6:42It essentially kinks my neck because I'm used to pancake flat pillows.
- 6:48I actually recently bought a kid's memory foam pillow because they're flatter, but it was actually too hard because apparently kids' pillows need to be on the firmer side for safety. So all this to say, a huge congrats to Larissa on the launch of Henry. And if you're like me and struggling to find the right pillow, go and check her out. Show her some love. She's part of our community and we are so excited for her. Yeah.
- 7:13That's all for today. I'm so happy to be back. I'm so grateful for you and for this amazing community. Keep shining bright and I will see you soon. Oh, and if we aren't friends yet on Instagram, remember you can pop into my DMs anytime because I love to chat and I would love to meet you and learn what you're up to.
